- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, trying to lead you down the road to eis
- 1:08Speaker 2: you won't go there?
- 1:08Speaker 1: There, I will not go there. Nice player. I didn't
- 1:13Speaker 1: see how I'm coming here.
- 1:14Speaker 4: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:18Speaker 4: deals by a Toyota dot Com.
- 1:22Speaker 3: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:26Speaker 3: at Jillette Stadium. The gang's all here. It's Evan, Paul, Me, Deuce, Alex,
- 1:31Speaker 3: the other Alex and Matt are in the booth and
- 1:34Speaker 3: we got a big show today because of course it's picked,
- 1:36Speaker 3: so we got to hurry. But right off the top,
- 1:40Speaker 3: you know Patriot's going to Nashville. Before I forget, I
- 1:43Speaker 3: just want to let people know that if you are
- 1:46Speaker 3: going to be in Nashville, there will be a party
- 1:50Speaker 3: slash rally Saturday night. It'll be from six to eight
- 1:54Speaker 3: o'clock that's Central time, six to eight o'clock Central time,
- 1:59Speaker 3: at the sponsored by the Nashville Patriots Fan Club, and
- 2:03Speaker 3: it's at the Live Oak Music Row. And that's at
- 2:06Speaker 3: fifteen twenty two Demon Browne D E M L N
- 2:11Speaker 3: B R E U N Street in Nashville, Demon Browne Street, Nashville,
- 2:17Speaker 3: the Live Oak Music Row. And so that's from six
- 2:21Speaker 3: to end. So they'll be food and food trucks and
- 2:24Speaker 3: all kinds of stuff there. So I always love it
- 2:27Speaker 3: when our fans in the road get organized, and I
- 2:30Speaker 3: just heard of a huge one that's going to be
- 2:32Speaker 3: happening in Baltimore.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But I don't want to. I don't want to get
- 2:35Speaker 2: ahead of ourselves.
- 2:36Speaker 5: There are you going to go to this one?
- 2:38Speaker 2: I might? I might, I might stop in here, And copy's.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Got to keep the fans wondering.
- 2:43Speaker 6: I saw some tiktoks of what they're doing in Tampa
- 2:45Speaker 6: for the games.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Out those Tampa's another one that's going to be a
- 2:48Speaker 3: big one too, son, you know.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And and by the.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Way, all this stuff was organized before the Patriots started
- 2:56Speaker 3: showing out this season, So kudos to all our fans
- 3:00Speaker 3: all over the country getting this stuff organized.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So again, is this event?
- 3:06Speaker 2: What?
- 3:07Speaker 7: No?
- 3:07Speaker 2: This is the Nashville Patriots Fan Club.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Oh nice?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Yeah, six to eight Central time, so it'll be seven
- 3:14Speaker 3: to nine Eastern time at the Live Oak Music Row
- 3:19Speaker 3: in Nashville.
- 3:20Speaker 2: The best.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Just wanted to get road City in the NFL. Best trip.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Nashville's excited.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Love it. Broadway Broadways amazing, the food barbecues right up
- 3:35Speaker 5: my alley. It's my favorite trip of the year. And
- 3:37Speaker 5: I love that we've been going a lot. That's great.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I liked Nashville. Spend some time with Mike Dussolle, very enjoyable.
- 3:46Speaker 5: If you're going to like go, if you're going to
- 3:48Speaker 5: plan it a road trip with your buddies to like
- 3:51Speaker 5: go to a road game. I know some people do
- 3:53Speaker 5: that every year if they're playing the Titans in Nashville.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Book it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So I got some info, like you mentioned, Tampa might
- 4:00Speaker 1: be a big fan event. Yep, there's gonna be a
- 4:03Speaker 1: lot Patriots fans at the Tampa game. Okay, I'm told
- 4:08Speaker 1: from people who would know such things. Yeah, huge demand
- 4:12Speaker 1: for tickets at Tampa.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I had it to mean a friend of mine reached out,
- 4:17Speaker 4: her daughter goes to the University of Tampa, and they're
- 4:18Speaker 4: making a thing out of it.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So it sounds like it's a yeah, love it, hopefully
- 4:22Speaker 1: bringing the noise.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, bring the noise and bring home a win.
- 4:25Speaker 1: So, you know, generally the Miami game is always huge,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but it was so early in the season this year
- 4:30Speaker 1: that I think they're replacing Miami with Tampa. Why get
- 4:33Speaker 1: some son?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Why not? All right, So here we are Thursday.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Uh for us as the hay in the barn, are
- 4:41Speaker 3: you still have things you'd need to think about playing
- 4:44Speaker 3: this Titans team?
- 4:46Speaker 2: How much to think about?
- 4:47Speaker 1: I think the Hayes and the Barn.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I feel bad like we were trying to do our
- 4:51Speaker 4: preview thing and it's trying to, you know.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Talk about the matchups and stuff.
- 4:54Speaker 4: But you know, beyond cam Ward and Jeffrey Simmons, it's
- 4:57Speaker 4: a little tough to find the guys to about the
- 5:00Speaker 4: Chiga conk Quoll, as Paul brought up, like saying that name.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I don't know why I get made fun of, made
- 5:07Speaker 1: fun of. There's a lot of things to make fun of,
- 5:10Speaker 1: you know, I give you a lot of him munition.
- 5:12Speaker 4: I know I I was, you know, when I'm looking
- 5:14Speaker 4: the roster and I'm like, chig a conk quall and
- 5:17Speaker 4: then just Chiga con Quoll.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I mean, am I good Conky getting that wrong? No,
- 5:22Speaker 1: it's perfect conk quoll. That's that's my question that I
- 5:25Speaker 1: got that one right. Damn it. You seem comfortable with it.
- 5:28Speaker 1: But it's not like.
- 5:31Speaker 4: That I had to practice like two months how But yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 4: I I I hope the Patriots go down there and
- 5:38Speaker 4: just blow doors.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's kind of what.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I'm I'm hoping it all goes to plan and maybe
- 5:42Speaker 4: most importantly and I don't want to want to say it,
- 5:44Speaker 4: nobody get hurt.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Pretty get hurt.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So I remember that game against Tennessee when Rodney got hurt.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Remember that.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I remember that. That's when Llasa Dallas Dallas Clark went
- 5:54Speaker 1: off in the AFC Championship game because he was out.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Well, it's parted what happened, right, Yeah, I wasn't happy
- 6:03Speaker 3: about Rodney getting hurt in that game.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I remember that one crystal clear, like the last couple
- 6:08Speaker 4: of weeks of the season, right.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And if I'm not mistaken, Bobby Wade was the receiver
- 6:13Speaker 1: who like, I see your random Rodney Harrison injury. And
- 6:18Speaker 1: it was like a legal block, but it was. It
- 6:21Speaker 1: was a low block and completely unnecessary. Pollared not I
- 6:26Speaker 1: wouldn't say it rose to the Bernard Pollard level, but
- 6:29Speaker 1: it was.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Not Jack Wagons.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Not great. But Rodney, you think it had been in
- 6:33Speaker 1: and out.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Hollared also took out Gronkowski, the same guy. Yeah, yeah, ridiculous.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Took out. Took out Ridley too in the playoff game.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah he did. Oh boy, that's the AFC Championship game.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Speaking of Ridley, Calvin Ridley, Yeah, he's probably probably going
- 6:50Speaker 3: to be out. So yeah, things aren't looking good in Tennessee. Uh,
- 6:55Speaker 3: up and down the roster and in the front office
- 6:58Speaker 3: and all that stuff. So, uh, Patriots just had.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Front office is okay, we got out every guy there.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Mike, Patriots just have to take care of business. Just
- 7:09Speaker 3: handle this like uh weird.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I don't remember being in this position since like twenty
- 7:15Speaker 4: I don't even know since I've been here maybe twenty nineteen.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Though, Yeah, I do like the energy. The energy has
- 7:20Speaker 5: been good.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Okay, speaking of that, we're in the locker room. Yesterday.
- 7:23Speaker 3: We didn't get to talk to either of you late,
- 7:26Speaker 3: so tell us what was going on in the mood
- 7:27Speaker 3: in the lock Oh.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I'll just say this, the people in the media contingent
- 7:32Speaker 5: is expanded rapidly, really big media.
- 7:38Speaker 6: At and saying like who do you know here?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I was just going to say, these people
- 7:44Speaker 2: you don't know?
- 7:44Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, multiple people I have never seen well, because.
- 7:48Speaker 5: The news stations have obviously turned over personnel.
- 7:53Speaker 2: He got me there.
- 7:54Speaker 5: There was a guy that was videoing the press conference room.
- 7:59Speaker 5: He was videoing the media asking Rabel the questions. I
- 8:04Speaker 5: did not care for that. I did not sign a
- 8:06Speaker 5: waiver to be on camera. But yeah, no, probably says
- 8:10Speaker 5: something like that like I I but yeah, the media contingent.
- 8:14Speaker 5: You know, I walked in to Rabel yesterday and there
- 8:18Speaker 5: wasn't even the seat for me, Like it was that
- 8:20Speaker 5: they didn't It was that crowded.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So it's Tennessee are here.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Maybe maybe I don't know what is the.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Media What is the media football game?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Because I'm thinking that when the media football game happens,
- 8:35Speaker 3: just throw a fast one and say, got a surprise
- 8:37Speaker 3: for you're playing tackle football against the coaches.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Well, to be honest with your Fred, it's no longer
- 8:43Speaker 5: allowed to be played really because somebody got injured the
- 8:46Speaker 5: last time we tried. I don't want to use names.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Fine though, he's fine walking again.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It sounds like there could be some ringers now with
- 8:53Speaker 2: all these new faces.
- 8:55Speaker 1: They were able to save the leg.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Well yeah, joke, but it was bad.
- 9:01Speaker 2: So so yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 5: So I like the I like the energy. I like
- 9:05Speaker 5: what the players are saying. I think that they're they're
- 9:08Speaker 5: not necessarily at least they're not saying that they're drinking
- 9:12Speaker 5: the kool aid. And I think that was Stefan Diggs's
- 9:15Speaker 5: direct quote, don't drink the kool aid just yet.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yep.
- 9:18Speaker 5: So I think that there's good energy and it did
- 9:21Speaker 5: feel yesterday, the size of the media contingent felt the
- 9:26Speaker 5: little end of Brady like a little eighteen nineteen. You know,
- 9:30Speaker 5: there was a lot of people here. It was a
- 9:33Speaker 5: packed house because these are always yeah yeah, because Rable.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah too, didn't even food.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Actually might be right.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Though there might be uh one or two people from
- 9:45Speaker 1: Tennessee here, okay, and soerly it might be. But you
- 9:49Speaker 1: could be right.
- 9:50Speaker 3: From your conversations Duce and alex and and Evan Paul two. Uh,
- 9:55Speaker 3: you find that there's more people from New England that
- 9:57Speaker 3: are going to be traveling this week.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Oh that's pretty light.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a money thing. It is so.
- 10:06Speaker 3: But now maybe these people that spend the money say,
- 10:09Speaker 3: now it's worth it.
- 10:10Speaker 6: Yeah that I don't know this game in particular, it
- 10:12Speaker 6: might be worth it to Sun people.
- 10:14Speaker 5: Because of the verb and right, yeah, I don't know.
- 10:17Speaker 5: But I thought that there was a lot more people
- 10:19Speaker 5: here in general locker room and Vrabel was packed.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Uh.
- 10:24Speaker 5: And then I think the players, I continue to think
- 10:27Speaker 5: that they have great energy, Like the locker room feels
- 10:30Speaker 5: like it has great energy. Practice feels like it has
- 10:33Speaker 5: great energy. You know, they do that like huddle before
- 10:36Speaker 5: practice now or Rabel huddles everybody up right after stretching,
- 10:40Speaker 5: and you heard a lot of like four or four
- 10:42Speaker 5: like four in a rows and things like that, and like,
- 10:45Speaker 5: you know, like they they feel like they're having a
- 10:48Speaker 5: really fun time right now. And you know being here,
- 10:52Speaker 5: which I think is uh is really cool to see
- 10:55Speaker 5: uh and and definitely different. I mean it's funny, like
- 10:58Speaker 5: you know, just seeing the warriors that were here for
- 11:03Speaker 5: the four and thirteen seasons and now all of a sudden,
- 11:05Speaker 5: it's like, you know, everybody's setting a camera and.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Everybody everybody it's cool.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Well I don't know about that, but on but it's.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But we should tease too.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Reven and I had a chance to sit down Robert
- 11:20Speaker 4: Spain yesterday. I think we'll run that at halftime here
- 11:22Speaker 4: for the show today. Oh good, good stuff, Patriots captain
- 11:26Speaker 4: and asked him a little about but about his start
- 11:28Speaker 4: in Tennessee that's where he initially broke through and you know,
- 11:30Speaker 4: his journey now to get to the point of being
- 11:32Speaker 4: a hackling machine captain here for the Patriots.
- 11:34Speaker 1: But it was good stuff from from Spolain.
- 11:36Speaker 3: So we'll hear that during during the half. Yeah, well
- 11:40Speaker 3: it halftime break.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Yeah, he was good and a lot of and he
- 11:44Speaker 5: kind of, you know, explain said it too. A lot
- 11:46Speaker 5: of guys when you you talk to them about some
- 11:48Speaker 5: of the success they're having, they like immediately pivoted to
- 11:51Speaker 5: like things that could be even better than what they've
- 11:55Speaker 5: already done. And I feel like that has to be
- 11:58Speaker 5: sort of the message, you know that's coming from up
- 12:00Speaker 5: top is yeah, we've won some games and it feels good,
- 12:03Speaker 5: but you know, maybe turn those pressures into sacks, or
- 12:07Speaker 5: maybe you know, make that that throw a little bit
- 12:10Speaker 5: better next time, or whatever the case may be, maybe
- 12:13Speaker 5: run the ball.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Who won the team? You know, I have to go
- 12:16Speaker 2: down the road. Who won the team?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Has had winning success in the NFL, like, you know,
- 12:22Speaker 3: gone deep into the playoffs.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Melon Williams just won a super Bowl. That's right, But
- 12:28Speaker 5: it's Carlton Davis won the Super Bowl with Tom Brady. Okay,
- 12:33Speaker 5: but it's yeah, I mean obviously.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah he got close.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Yeah, But other than that, it's not a very deep list.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Morgan hasn't really right, no, I mean he was briefly, Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 1: didn't never do anything. When he was in Boltimore.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Aaron Landry, you know, went to an AFC Championship game,
- 12:51Speaker 5: with Rabel and Tennessee success.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Who did mispractice yesterday to with? You know, Hollins has
- 12:57Speaker 1: been on every team in the league, so some of
- 12:59Speaker 1: them are good.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, did.
- 13:01Speaker 9: He want to?
- 13:02Speaker 5: I don't really Collins.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't think Collins has won the Super Bowl. I
- 13:06Speaker 1: think I think haven't got the ones that Milton Williams
- 13:09Speaker 1: and Carlton Davis.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I know them for sure.
- 13:11Speaker 3: It's you know, I think it's good to have that
- 13:13Speaker 3: mix young guys who are hungry, but also veterans who
- 13:16Speaker 3: have had success that can say this is what it
- 13:18Speaker 3: takes to get there.
- 13:20Speaker 5: When was Austin Hooper in Atlanta?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Oh, he was on the suit. He didn't he score
- 13:24Speaker 1: a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
- 13:27Speaker 4: I would have blocked it out where I think he
- 13:29Speaker 4: might have.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I think he scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl,
- 13:31Speaker 1: but that was ten years ago.
- 13:33Speaker 5: But yeah, he was. I think he was longer than
- 13:35Speaker 5: you think he was in Atlanta when they were on
- 13:38Speaker 5: those Yeah, I think.
- 13:40Speaker 8: I like was on the eighteen Eagles team.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Mac Collins was on the eighteen Eagles team.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Google's AI so that that won the Super Bowl against US.
- 13:52Speaker 1: He might have not played.
- 13:53Speaker 8: It was probably like one of his first seasons.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Yeah that was seventeen.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Wow, we're still.
- 14:01Speaker 8: Ales, But the super Bowl wasn't eighteen.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That could be his new mac fact. I actually was
- 14:04Speaker 1: on a Super Bowl I gave.
- 14:05Speaker 8: Him some ideas yesterday. He seemed really excited about it.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I was Pop Douglas for you.
- 14:11Speaker 8: Yesterday is the best. He's just all smiles all the time.
- 14:17Speaker 6: We were joking. We were having a lot of fun,
- 14:19Speaker 6: and uh yeah. He also mentioned like this is a
- 14:23Speaker 6: really fun year. They're closer than ever in the time
- 14:25Speaker 6: he's been here. Obviously winning helps with that, but a
- 14:28Speaker 6: lot of it just has to do with, like they're
- 14:31Speaker 6: really playing for each other and as a team right now.
- 14:34Speaker 8: And he vibes.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Here's an interesting one that I thought that in the
- 14:43Speaker 2: in Patriots history, they have never won in the regular
- 14:46Speaker 2: season three consecutive road games, like three weeks in a row. However, however,
- 14:52Speaker 2: and I'm not sure if this is true. Uh Kakoi
- 14:56Speaker 2: rights in. I hope I'm pronouncing his name right.
- 15:00Speaker 3: That in two thousand and seven we two three and four,
- 15:05Speaker 3: they won three consecutive road games. Oh, so he's got
- 15:10Speaker 3: it insane at Qualcomm Stadium.
- 15:11Speaker 2: So then he's wrong.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Yeah, we two, three and four, and seven was home
- 15:16Speaker 5: against the Chargers, home against the Bills.
- 15:18Speaker 3: So he's got it at Qualcom. That's incorrect. Sorry Kakoy,
- 15:22Speaker 3: but nice try forty.
- 15:24Speaker 5: So this is sometimes when I wonder if he used AI.
- 15:27Speaker 8: AI and sports stats is so terrible.
- 15:30Speaker 6: I was in a random conversation recently and I wanted
- 15:33Speaker 6: to know who had the most World Series championships in
- 15:37Speaker 6: the twenty first century, and it told me the Giants
- 15:39Speaker 6: and then listed three and I was like, well, I
- 15:41Speaker 6: know the Red Sox have four in the twenty first century,
- 15:44Speaker 6: So I said, what about the Red Sox and then
- 15:46Speaker 6: a I was like, you're right, they're tied, and then
- 15:48Speaker 6: it said the Giants have four and then only listed
- 15:51Speaker 6: three years.
- 15:53Speaker 8: I'm like, how, Like.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's what are we even doing?
- 15:56Speaker 8: What are we doing? But you.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Cannot see Twitter people kind of coming back at reporters
- 16:04Speaker 6: with like screenshots of AI stats and it's just like
- 16:07Speaker 6: you go to Pro Football Reference and you can debunk
- 16:09Speaker 6: it in two seconds, and it's just you can't get stats.
- 16:14Speaker 8: AI is notoriously terrible with sports.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I think if I was an educational institution, if someone
- 16:24Speaker 3: uses AI to do something you're penalized. But if you
- 16:27Speaker 3: use AI to do something and you're wrong, you're kicked
- 16:30Speaker 3: out of school.
- 16:31Speaker 5: I mean, it's a problem.
- 16:33Speaker 2: It is.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Sometimes I use the Twitter AI to just see like
- 16:36Speaker 6: what narratives are going on and like around the NFL,
- 16:41Speaker 6: just to aggregate, and I stopped doing it because it
- 16:43Speaker 6: was like the Patriots have Matt Judan to help. I'm like,
- 16:46Speaker 6: Matt Judon hasn't been here in two seasons and it
- 16:48Speaker 6: still thinks he's here.
- 16:49Speaker 5: Like it's just I do like that. You know, as
- 16:52Speaker 5: somebody that grew up in the researcher sports researcher world,
- 16:56Speaker 5: the fact that you still need a human to look
- 16:58Speaker 5: these stats up is good for people like me. That
- 17:01Speaker 5: means we're not going to get replaced by robots just yet.
- 17:05Speaker 4: It's hard because it's it makes it easy to gather
- 17:07Speaker 4: stuff and some of it will be right, and so
- 17:09Speaker 4: if you're okay double checking it, it can give you
- 17:12Speaker 4: a bunch at once, but you're gonna have to double
- 17:14Speaker 4: check if you have to know.
- 17:16Speaker 5: The amount of times that we would like do things
- 17:18Speaker 5: by hand, you know, where you had to like go
- 17:20Speaker 5: through game logs and like do and now people probably
- 17:23Speaker 5: just spit that stuff into AI and just take it
- 17:25Speaker 5: at its word for whatever it is, and it's it's
- 17:29Speaker 5: going to cause some royal f ups.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I knew there was a reason why I never
- 17:33Speaker 1: learned how to do any of that stuff.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Well, I said, I mean, now it's and I We've
- 17:37Speaker 4: been talking about AI for a while now, and it's
- 17:39Speaker 4: you start to realize what is written by AI because
- 17:42Speaker 4: it just sounds the same, you know, the voice of AI,
- 17:45Speaker 4: and it's it's you know people. I mean, I'm hearing
- 17:47Speaker 4: a lot about people are doing all their resumes and
- 17:50Speaker 4: cover letters with AI, and then companies are using just
- 17:52Speaker 4: AI to sort sort those too. And I think we're
- 17:55Speaker 4: gonna come around to a point where you start to
- 17:57Speaker 4: value like individual creativity and you know, people are if
- 18:00Speaker 4: anyone's trying to pawn off like written work from AI,
- 18:03Speaker 4: it's going to be obvious. You know, it's not just
- 18:06Speaker 4: the greatest thing that ever happened. It's in all you know,
- 18:09Speaker 4: it's not just the blank. It's like it has these
- 18:11Speaker 4: phrases that it always seems to use.
- 18:14Speaker 6: There's just still so much I don't know, there's it
- 18:17Speaker 6: needs to go so much further, Like we're only living
- 18:19Speaker 6: in like the first few generations of AI and not
- 18:23Speaker 6: generations in terms of like yeah, people as age, but
- 18:26Speaker 6: like the like chat GPT three, Chat GPT four, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 6: like there's so much that still needs to happen.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it learns itself, and it's supposed to get better,
- 18:36Speaker 3: but if what you're learning is repeating the incorrect things,
- 18:40Speaker 3: you get deeper into Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Right, but anyway, all right, we digress, We digress.
- 18:47Speaker 3: So again, going back to this game, it just seems
- 18:50Speaker 3: like we feel pretty comfortable here. And not to say
- 18:54Speaker 3: that it's the players, but I'm talking about the media
- 18:57Speaker 3: and everyone talking about the game. I haven't you know,
- 19:01Speaker 3: everyone has said even despite the interim coach bump that
- 19:06Speaker 3: could happen, even despite winning three games consecutively on the road,
- 19:10Speaker 3: is has never happened. There's no way I can pick
- 19:14Speaker 3: the Titans. Yeah, that's what people are saying.
- 19:16Speaker 1: They just seem in turmoil.
- 19:17Speaker 4: And I mean that's I mean, we listed off some
- 19:20Speaker 4: of the interim coaches Evan, you know, Jeff Saturday, Antonio Pierce, remember,
- 19:24Speaker 4: and a lot of times, I mean I'd love to
- 19:26Speaker 4: see that it broken down even more by that bump,
- 19:29Speaker 4: Like how many times is it a bump if it's
- 19:30Speaker 4: like a former player and somebody who.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Just kind of raw ras and knows how to talk
- 19:35Speaker 1: to the players.
- 19:36Speaker 4: And I don't know if that's going to exist with
- 19:38Speaker 4: with Mike McCoy, I don't know.
- 19:39Speaker 3: And also I don't know what they felt about Callahan,
- 19:42Speaker 3: Like do players think he got that rude or are
- 19:45Speaker 3: they like thank God we're free or right exactly like that.
- 19:48Speaker 6: I would wonder that too, because I feel like if
- 19:51Speaker 6: I was the player, I would be more on the
- 19:53Speaker 6: side of the coach because look at the decisions that
- 19:55Speaker 6: organizations made since like what AJ Brown, like.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Yeah, really started themselves. It really started going downhill with
- 20:03Speaker 5: AJ Brown, and it was changing GM's changing head coaches. Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 5: and then yeah, like Mike Rabel and then it's you know,
- 20:14Speaker 5: obviously Brian Callahan, but it's also Ran carth On to
- 20:17Speaker 5: Borgazi and like different uh, you know, leadership throughout and
- 20:25Speaker 5: power struggles and like it's kind of been a little
- 20:28Speaker 5: bit of a mess down there.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the last couple of years. The latest mistake and
- 20:32Speaker 1: you guys just rattled off all the different examples of dysfunction.
- 20:37Speaker 1: But if you're going to make the move, you're going
- 20:39Speaker 1: to get rid of Rabel, and then a year later
- 20:40Speaker 1: you got rid of Carthurne. You brought a new guy in.
- 20:42Speaker 1: How do you keep calling like let the new guy
- 20:45Speaker 1: pick his own guy? Yeah, so you end up keeping
- 20:48Speaker 1: him for six games? Like what to what end? Yeah?
- 20:52Speaker 5: I remember when Rabel was towards the end there, Ryan
- 20:56Speaker 5: Cowden was up for their general manager position. I think
- 20:59Speaker 5: he was the interim general manager at the time, and
- 21:03Speaker 5: they thought that Ryan Cowden was just going to get
- 21:05Speaker 5: the official title, and then out of nowhere they end
- 21:09Speaker 5: up hiring ran Carthin to run personnel. And that was
- 21:14Speaker 5: I think the beginning of the end because it was
- 21:16Speaker 5: kind of like, well, you know, obviously Ryan Cowden is
- 21:19Speaker 5: Rabel's guy, and he wanted that too. Rabel wanted to
- 21:22Speaker 5: be in the chair, and then ran Carthin comes out
- 21:25Speaker 5: of nowhere, and then Rabel leaves and ran Carthin takes over,
- 21:28Speaker 5: and then ran Cartin gets fired, Like it just has
- 21:32Speaker 5: not been a well managed team.
- 21:34Speaker 1: How much do you think, you know, the whole cliche
- 21:38Speaker 1: of when Mike was here for his Hall of Fame
- 21:41Speaker 1: ceremony and he said what he did, how he said it,
- 21:43Speaker 1: how much do you think that that didn't help impact it,
- 21:47Speaker 1: But he was right.
- 21:48Speaker 8: Looking at their track history.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Do you blame the Titans own g Amy Strunk Adam Strunk.
- 22:01Speaker 2: For that about or that being the reason.
- 22:04Speaker 1: No, that's not the reason he got fired. Her fired
- 22:06Speaker 1: because he lost, right, but he that definitely greased the skids,
- 22:10Speaker 1: you know, in other words, like if they were twelve
- 22:12Speaker 1: and two, she wasn't going to fire him because he
- 22:14Speaker 1: said something.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I can't blame her for being.
- 22:16Speaker 1: You know, disrespectful about his own time.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I can't blame her for being bothered about that.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I Like, I can't either, Like that's like I know
- 22:23Speaker 1: a lot of people like you know, look what happened,
- 22:25Speaker 1: Like I don't know, he wasn't winning. They looked like
- 22:29Speaker 1: they were going in the wrong direction, and then he
- 22:32Speaker 1: said that, Like yeah, obviously it was wrong, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: like Mike has come here and has the Patriots, you know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: well on the rebuilding process here and on the road
- 22:42Speaker 1: to better things. I'm sure they wish they didn't do
- 22:45Speaker 1: it the way they did it, But I can understand
- 22:47Speaker 1: why she did.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Just knowing me, i'd i'd have been pissed, Like knowing me,
- 22:51Speaker 3: like if if I don't know if during the time,
- 22:56Speaker 3: you know, Bill Belichick went to another place, went to
- 22:58Speaker 3: the Giants, and while he's still here.
- 23:01Speaker 10: You know.
- 23:01Speaker 6: Yeah, But also, like I think about what led Mike
- 23:04Speaker 6: to say that, what was going.
- 23:06Speaker 11: On behind I don't know exactly in twenty twenty two,
- 23:12Speaker 11: I didn't, you know, Cowden's the interim general manager when
- 23:15Speaker 11: they're in between John Robinson and ran Carthin, and I'm
- 23:18Speaker 11: sure Rabel just thought that Cowden was going to get
- 23:20Speaker 11: the job, and then they ended up hiring a.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Totally outside hire that out of nowhere, and then Rabel
- 23:27Speaker 5: comes back for the Hall of Fame ceremony and gives
- 23:29Speaker 5: that speech, and that was all happening at the same time.
- 23:33Speaker 1: So that's kind of what I'm getting at is do
- 23:34Speaker 1: you think Mike did it on purpose?
- 23:37Speaker 2: Oh?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Maybe just maybe he just felt he didn't have any
- 23:42Speaker 3: shackles on him, you know, like he could say whatever
- 23:44Speaker 3: he wanted, and and I think in the back of
- 23:47Speaker 3: his mind he's thinking how bad it is back home
- 23:52Speaker 3: and like.
- 23:52Speaker 6: Compared to yeah, I love the experience here. You're right, Yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 6: I think you can.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I think he kind of didn't think it was going to.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Be whatever whatever he thought. I'm glad it happened.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I don't think he thought it would play in Nashville,
- 24:04Speaker 1: Let's put it that way. I think he you know,
- 24:06Speaker 1: sometimes you're not really thinking it out. Yeah, I think
- 24:08Speaker 1: Mark Mike's a really smart guy. So I'm not telling
- 24:10Speaker 1: you he like stupidly didn't think this would happen. But
- 24:15Speaker 1: I wonder if you just thought, you know, we're amongst friends. Yeah,
- 24:19Speaker 1: you know, and like he remembered the good old days.
- 24:21Speaker 6: I don't think you can blame her for being upset
- 24:23Speaker 6: about it, but at the same time, I think she
- 24:27Speaker 6: still has to have some accountability with it.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Oh, she's responsible for what the Titans are now. Like
- 24:34Speaker 1: you guys, both you and Evan Alex just rattled off
- 24:39Speaker 1: coach goes GM, goes, GM goes you know. It started
- 24:43Speaker 1: with John Robinson, then it went to Rabel, then it
- 24:45Speaker 1: went to cart then Carthin's out. New now Callahan's out.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Like like this.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Is like you said they needed to clean house. There's
- 24:52Speaker 3: this function that new GM. They should have just told
- 24:56Speaker 3: him clean house twice.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Yeah, Like and Carthen Rabel wasn't ran Carthin's guy and
- 25:02Speaker 5: vice versa, and then they went a year with that
- 25:04Speaker 5: and then Rabel's out and then ran cartin hires Brian Callahan,
- 25:08Speaker 5: then ran Carthen's out and then it just and this
- 25:12Speaker 5: like pretty much all goes back to trading A. J.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Brown And that's when they started.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Still coming out playing.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Why did they trade?
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't know that was why. That was the one
- 25:24Speaker 1: thread that they pulled that unravel.
- 25:27Speaker 8: Remember, had like that on a silver platter.
- 25:31Speaker 5: I don't understand. I mean we all know why. Like
- 25:33Speaker 5: he didn't want to pay him, you know, he was
- 25:35Speaker 5: up for a new contract, and they felt like why, well,
- 25:38Speaker 5: I'm they just felt like they could draft Trailon Burks
- 25:41Speaker 5: and it was the same player, and everybody probably have
- 25:44Speaker 5: told you that it wasn't. But like that, they figured,
- 25:48Speaker 5: would we rather pay the diva receiver thirty million dollars
- 25:51Speaker 5: a year or would we rather draft another receiver in
- 25:54Speaker 5: the top of the draft in the first round and
- 25:56Speaker 5: recycle and just you know, go back to the beginning
- 25:59Speaker 5: with it, and Treylon Burks ended up being an epic
- 26:03Speaker 5: Nikhil Harry level bust and it just didn't work out.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Was that John Robinson thing?
- 26:07Speaker 5: Yeah, So John Robinson was at the that was basically
- 26:10Speaker 5: his last decision as general manager was to trade A. J.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Brown.
- 26:13Speaker 4: It's a little patriotsy. I mean it's a little Belichickian
- 26:16Speaker 4: of you know. Moving on to the guys, I just
- 26:19Speaker 4: of all the receivers in the league, he's one that
- 26:21Speaker 4: I would say, he's one.
- 26:22Speaker 1: This is the guy, like.
- 26:23Speaker 4: You know, and there's maybe three or four of them
- 26:25Speaker 4: that I would just say, you can't let that.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Guy get out of your building. You would out of
- 26:30Speaker 1: the league.
- 26:31Speaker 5: He I don't think he's out of the league.
- 26:32Speaker 1: But it's not hurt. Again, he's not even on the
- 26:36Speaker 1: practice squad. He might have got hurt and they released him.
- 26:39Speaker 5: But like the Belichick thing, like to me, you know what,
- 26:43Speaker 5: didn't you look at it and might say, like, Derrick
- 26:45Speaker 5: Henry is the engine of the offense. And as long
- 26:48Speaker 5: as we have Derrick Henry and we have good offensive
- 26:50Speaker 5: line play and we have good you know, structure, well
- 26:53Speaker 5: just but this guy might be seventy five percent as
- 26:55Speaker 5: good as a J.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Brown.
- 26:56Speaker 5: But we don't really need a J. Brown. We just
- 26:59Speaker 5: need a good receiver.
- 27:01Speaker 2: And I'm just trying to play devil.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I think they validity to what you and Mike are saying,
- 27:06Speaker 1: because if you look at like you said, it was
- 27:07Speaker 1: like a Bill thing and it kind of wash and
- 27:11Speaker 1: you look at Bill's track record in and there's a
- 27:14Speaker 1: lot of those things that he did that ended up
- 27:16Speaker 1: working out until they didn't work out anymore. And like Tennessee,
- 27:20Speaker 1: you look back, they had a first round wide receiver
- 27:23Speaker 1: who was pretty good. He wasn't AJ Brown and Corey Davis.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Remember Corey Davis. He was. He was pretty productive for them.
- 27:29Speaker 1: You know, they kind of let him go when they
- 27:30Speaker 1: replaced him with you know, I mean they probably overlapped
- 27:33Speaker 1: a little bit. AJ Brown and Corey Davis had a
- 27:36Speaker 1: huge game against the Patriots by the way, against Gilmore
- 27:39Speaker 1: in eighteen ish seventeen eighteen whenever they played down there.
- 27:44Speaker 1: So then they probably said, well, we got AJ Brown
- 27:48Speaker 1: after we had this guy, so we can let AJ
- 27:51Speaker 1: Brown go and we'll get the next guy. That that
- 27:53Speaker 1: is a Bill move, like I can get the next guy.
- 27:55Speaker 1: It doesn't look until you don't.
- 27:57Speaker 6: It's just so shortsighted to me, because like if you
- 28:00Speaker 6: don't want to pay him, like.
- 28:04Speaker 8: What's the return on investment?
- 28:05Speaker 6: Like invest in a player like that, because one, Tennessee
- 28:08Speaker 6: is a very desirable place to play in terms of taxes,
- 28:12Speaker 6: whether it's a fun city.
- 28:13Speaker 8: What does he attract?
- 28:15Speaker 6: What playoff runs do you make and then how much
- 28:16Speaker 6: money do you make as an organization if you do
- 28:19Speaker 6: go on deep playoff runs with a guy like that,
- 28:21Speaker 6: so to just get rid of him because you don't
- 28:23Speaker 6: want to pay him upfront, It's just like poverty.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Marketable is good for business.
- 28:29Speaker 8: Imagine that.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I don't know if anyone's ever told you, but like
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, like the rich people, they think if you
- 28:36Speaker 1: need to spend money to make money. I don't know
- 28:39Speaker 1: if you ever heard that or that.
- 28:41Speaker 6: You got to spend it to make it and scared
- 28:44Speaker 6: money doesn't make more money.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I mean, I like that too.
- 28:47Speaker 5: I might put that on my I see both sides,
- 28:49Speaker 5: and I know that's controversial, but as like somebody that
- 28:52Speaker 5: like nerds out about the draft, like you draft, yes,
- 28:56Speaker 5: like you drafted poorly, but you traded aj Brown instead
- 29:01Speaker 5: of paying him. You got it first and the third
- 29:02Speaker 5: round pick back, and if you had drafted better, like
- 29:06Speaker 5: if you had hit on the guy, then we're not
- 29:08Speaker 5: talking about any of this, Like if they had drafted
- 29:10Speaker 5: that draft is London Wilson, the lave Burks Pickens is
- 29:17Speaker 5: a twenty two draft. So like if you just draft
- 29:20Speaker 5: another one of those guys, that is Garrett Wilson instead
- 29:25Speaker 5: of Traylon Burks. Yeah, like is it was? It would
- 29:29Speaker 5: it have been the worst. They just did not evaluate
- 29:31Speaker 5: the player, right. I think they picked in the middle
- 29:36Speaker 5: of the first round and then you.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Know London, like in the top ten.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean they would have had to maybe trade
- 29:40Speaker 5: up a little bit.
- 29:41Speaker 1: But like top, I totally agree with the theory because
- 29:43Speaker 1: I hate when people evaluate trades based on the identity
- 29:47Speaker 1: of the player they drafted. The trade is the player
- 29:50Speaker 1: for the picks. Yeah, and now it's incumbent upon you
- 29:53Speaker 1: to use those picks wisely, but it doesn't become you know,
- 29:56Speaker 1: how often he doesn't hurt as much if you nail
- 29:59Speaker 1: the picks like Evans.
- 30:00Speaker 3: How often though, does it work for the team that
- 30:03Speaker 3: gets rid of the proven superstar because they don't want
- 30:07Speaker 3: to pay him, and then they immediately draft his replacement?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Who's Minnesota?
- 30:12Speaker 5: Is a gamble that Minnesota Vikings traders to Fon Diggs
- 30:15Speaker 5: and drafted Justin Jefferson.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good example. That's a good example.
- 30:21Speaker 5: But like if they if they had drafted Johan Dotson instead,
- 30:25Speaker 5: or maybe it might have been Jalen Rager. I get
- 30:27Speaker 5: my TCU receivers if they had drafted that whoever went
- 30:32Speaker 5: to pick before Justin Jefferson. I was one of those
- 30:35Speaker 5: guys if they had drafted that guy instead of Justin Jefferson.
- 30:39Speaker 1: So that's that would have been a huge Give me
- 30:41Speaker 1: another one.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Uh.
- 30:43Speaker 5: I think Kansas City has worked out well post Tyreek
- 30:46Speaker 5: Hill with the with the picks that they got back.
- 30:49Speaker 5: I think Trent McDuffie was technically.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Part of Hill and.
- 30:55Speaker 1: The issue of Trent McDuffie.
- 30:57Speaker 5: Is an All Pro receiver cornerback, Like he's one of
- 30:59Speaker 5: the best player cornerback, it's one of their best players.
- 31:02Speaker 3: No, but I'm talking about you got rid of a
- 31:05Speaker 3: you got rid of a position and then drafted someone
- 31:09Speaker 3: from that same position.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Well, but you don't always have to draft the guy
- 31:13Speaker 1: from the same position.
- 31:14Speaker 2: It's hard to That's what I'm talking about.
- 31:15Speaker 3: But that's what I'm talking about though, Like you lost
- 31:21Speaker 3: a wide receiver and you didn't replace him with someone
- 31:23Speaker 3: of his caliber.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Minnesota and it worked out great for
- 31:27Speaker 5: both sides. Like that trade where.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Minnesota is that Jefferson might even be better than that.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Right, But Dave, you know, Buffalo gets Diggs in his
- 31:34Speaker 5: Prime and Minnesota gets Jefferson and that that worked out
- 31:38Speaker 5: for both sides. I mean, it's hard because what Paul said, like,
- 31:42Speaker 5: it's very seldom that you trade a receiver and then
- 31:44Speaker 5: draft a receiver right immediately.
- 31:45Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying a small samples.
- 31:47Speaker 3: The point I'm trying to get at is if you've
- 31:50Speaker 3: got a superstar at a position, it's unlikely that you're
- 31:54Speaker 3: going to be able to replace him in the draft,
- 31:56Speaker 3: at least right away.
- 31:57Speaker 1: So but the thing is, I agree with Evan. I
- 32:01Speaker 1: don't think there's a lot of apples to Apple's comparisons.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Like most teams that do with something like Tennessee did
- 32:07Speaker 1: would probably not have no receivers. Like I'm not trading
- 32:11Speaker 1: aj Brown up, I don't have any other really good receivers. Yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 1: like Kansas City said, we can trade Hill, we still
- 32:18Speaker 1: have Kelsey who was a lot younger at the time,
- 32:20Speaker 1: and we have other options. And then they draft like
- 32:23Speaker 1: Rashid Rice, who is he's not Tyreek Hill, but he's
- 32:26Speaker 1: a good player, and they they've you know, made it
- 32:30Speaker 1: work because they have Mahomes right. Tennessee had nothing. I mean,
- 32:33Speaker 1: it was Dereck Henry and nothing else. When they made
- 32:37Speaker 1: that trade and now you have to draft a receiver
- 32:40Speaker 1: because we don't have any.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Right, they got a lot of lunch.
- 32:44Speaker 3: I think they were more willing to get rid of
- 32:45Speaker 3: AJ Brown because they really didn't have a quarterback yet.
- 32:49Speaker 5: I think that they had contract negotiations with AJ Brown
- 32:52Speaker 5: that went south, and once they got to the draft,
- 32:55Speaker 5: they realized, we are world's apart on this contract, and
- 32:59Speaker 5: so we're getting these trade offers for him. Because at
- 33:02Speaker 5: the time it was a shocking trade.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Like it was a shocking trade. I don't remember, but
- 33:06Speaker 1: he's not.
- 33:07Speaker 12: Didn't Abel want to keep Brown? Isn't that the yes?
- 33:11Speaker 12: Is that that created a rift with him? Yeah, he
- 33:15Speaker 12: sort of wont to power struggle with John Robinson. What
- 33:19Speaker 12: year was that, twenty two twenty two that trade happened,
- 33:22Speaker 12: So it was after they were the number one seed.
- 33:25Speaker 2: You know, John, you know my John Robinson story, right?
- 33:28Speaker 10: No?
- 33:29Speaker 2: You know?
- 33:29Speaker 1: Maybe so a nice man by the way on the road.
- 33:33Speaker 1: One sit down with him on the road.
- 33:35Speaker 3: You know, you have your assigned seating in the press box,
- 33:39Speaker 3: and this is a great I didn't like. I didn't
- 33:42Speaker 3: know who this is. Back when John Robinson was with
- 33:44Speaker 3: the Patriots. I didn't know what he looked like. So
- 33:47Speaker 3: I get to my seat and there's this guy sitting
- 33:49Speaker 3: est to me. And you usually our scouts don't sit
- 33:52Speaker 3: with us in the press box. They're if they're there
- 33:55Speaker 3: at all, there's somewhere way away.
- 33:57Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 33:58Speaker 3: So I look at this guy and go, are you
- 33:59Speaker 3: supposed to be here? And he's like, yeah, I worked
- 34:03Speaker 3: for the team.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, who are you?
- 34:07Speaker 1: Oh?
- 34:07Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 34:11Speaker 1: Did you chat him up?
- 34:12Speaker 5: A little bit?
- 34:12Speaker 1: After that? I bit so, But this isn't really a story.
- 34:17Speaker 4: But he sat in front of us in the press
- 34:19Speaker 4: box in that nineteen playoff game here, and so I
- 34:21Speaker 4: that was just an interesting experience for me to watch,
- 34:24Speaker 4: like an NFL GM sit there and watch his team
- 34:26Speaker 4: win a playoff game on the road.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You know, I just you tell her he's trying to
- 34:29Speaker 1: keep it in, but he seemed very excited. Could have
- 34:31Speaker 1: really live end it up for you and made you
- 34:32Speaker 1: do it, you know, sitting behind Bill Polian.
- 34:36Speaker 3: He would slam the table table. You know what the
- 34:39Speaker 3: reft he screamed out about. Doug Flute break his leg?
- 34:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah his leg?
- 34:47Speaker 5: Yeah, the GM of the t Yeah, that's an appropriate
- 34:50Speaker 5: amazing there.
- 34:52Speaker 1: There's two that was a game they won. The Colts
- 34:54Speaker 1: killed us. That that's why Flutey was in the game. No,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I always remember the Raiders, the Raiders staff this.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Year openly cheering and like yes and doing all that stuff,
- 35:04Speaker 4: and then just the stupid the Chiefs Ownership group that's
- 35:07Speaker 4: like screaming.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I mean they're super loud. See the Chiefs Ownership Group
- 35:11Speaker 1: is in there. Yeah, there's their box. But if you're
- 35:14Speaker 1: in the press box, it's not like the as Fred
- 35:16Speaker 1: would say, the press box proper, like you shouldn't be
- 35:19Speaker 1: doing that, like Polon used to bang that he was
- 35:22Speaker 1: like with everybody else.
- 35:23Speaker 5: So I I personally think that they shouldn't be in
- 35:27Speaker 5: the press box totally. And I understand that maybe there's
- 35:30Speaker 5: no room for them anywhere else, and I get there's
- 35:32Speaker 5: logistics to it, but I don't think it's fair to
- 35:36Speaker 5: them because like they're obviously emotional about the situation, and
- 35:42Speaker 5: that's totally fair to themselves with what they're saying, right,
- 35:46Speaker 5: and like all it takes is like you know, now
- 35:48Speaker 5: we talk and tell stories about Bill Polian losing his
- 35:51Speaker 5: mind in the press box, Like we don't need that
- 35:54Speaker 5: happening anymore.
- 35:56Speaker 4: There's like all the time, Like you know, we walked
- 35:59Speaker 4: down a halftime and you see Elliott or Macro or
- 36:01Speaker 4: you know those guys walking around.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember Elliott after the punt return Marcus Jones,
- 36:09Speaker 1: and I was like Chris Farley, like that was awesome.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I did because that was you know, Marcus Jones. I
- 36:17Speaker 1: mean everybody knows I have a crush.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Do you see, Like how did Elliott walking out at
- 36:21Speaker 6: least at halftime to go grab a quick snack?
- 36:23Speaker 4: I mean, and we're obviously invested in it, but like
- 36:25Speaker 4: they're invested in it. I mean, this is like their
- 36:28Speaker 4: life that's going before their eyes.
- 36:30Speaker 13: You know.
- 36:30Speaker 1: The Poleon thing was a little different, Like the rooting
- 36:34Speaker 1: doesn't bother me, Like they're actual, like this is their
- 36:37Speaker 1: lively Yeah right, but Poleon was a little bit much
- 36:42Speaker 1: is like he was a little everybody heard like the
- 36:44Speaker 1: Patriots time is over. I assume that's the same game you.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Gots that was the championship of the locker room in
- 36:51Speaker 3: the service tunnel, Like it's our time.
- 36:53Speaker 2: The Patriots time is over.
- 36:55Speaker 1: It looks like road game like conquering from War.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you you won super Bowl.
- 37:01Speaker 1: This is our time.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Rex Grossman let you off the hook, No kidding, anybody
- 37:08Speaker 3: would have beat the Bears that, but the one that.
- 37:11Speaker 1: That, that Chiefs group, they go off and like they
- 37:13Speaker 1: have one of the sweets and Mike's right every time.
- 37:17Speaker 1: And unfortunately the last several times the Chiefs have been here,
- 37:20Speaker 1: it's been very quiet in the stadium because the Chiefs
- 37:23Speaker 1: are doing all the scoring and you hear you can't
- 37:26Speaker 1: hear the swet, but like they're like, that's the team.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's not like it would bother me if it was
- 37:33Speaker 1: like what Evan was talking about, if like the media is.
- 37:36Speaker 8: The beat writers, like who you like, what are you doing?
- 37:39Speaker 1: The old the old guys.
- 37:42Speaker 5: There's a difference between there's difference between cheering and like
- 37:47Speaker 5: it's when a cool play happens, I think it's fine
- 37:50Speaker 5: to have a reaction to it, but it's not cheering reaction.
- 37:53Speaker 1: But you know, like that's just difference.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Like that was me last year with Pokakua. He's not
- 37:59Speaker 4: even at I was like, oh my god, you.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Can appreciate a great play like an individual play. But
- 38:06Speaker 1: like Kevin Mannix and Ron Hobson, those guys when I
- 38:09Speaker 1: first started, they used to talk about the Pittsburgh media
- 38:12Speaker 1: was obnoxious, like in the set, like the Steel Curtain.
- 38:16Speaker 1: They're winning all these titles, and they would carry themselves
- 38:18Speaker 1: like they were part of it, guys. And and when
- 38:21Speaker 1: the Patriots went there, that one of them was telling
- 38:24Speaker 1: a story like all w the Patriots beat them in
- 38:27Speaker 1: three rivers and they then all the Patriots media guys
- 38:30Speaker 1: got up and clapped when the game was over. Little
- 38:34Speaker 1: media media crime. I'm here for it.
- 38:36Speaker 5: I heard that they're actually letting the water Boy in
- 38:38Speaker 5: the Hall of Fame next year.
- 38:40Speaker 3: So bitter this some of the some of these teams
- 38:45Speaker 3: that have been around it. It's not so much anymore.
- 38:48Speaker 2: We've cycled through it.
- 38:49Speaker 3: But a lot of the press corps, home press coll
- 38:53Speaker 3: like old crusty guys, you know, and they've been there forever,
- 38:56Speaker 3: and they you know, cheering it.
- 38:58Speaker 1: But but you don't get many that type. You get
- 39:02Speaker 1: as many of those types.
- 39:03Speaker 2: That are like the young now, the young kids.
- 39:05Speaker 3: But but I remember in Oakland, this is when they
- 39:08Speaker 3: were playing in the oh.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Talk about a pit.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Yeah, remember the outdoor that was like the windows are.
- 39:15Speaker 2: All the old guy was sitting there because that's how
- 39:18Speaker 2: we did it.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I always have the window open, windows degrees.
- 39:23Speaker 3: And the winds blowing, everybody's papers are typing. Like finally,
- 39:27Speaker 3: like a few of us stood up and go, okay,
- 39:29Speaker 3: close the window enough, that's enough.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Yeah when I when I you made your point, You're
- 39:39Speaker 2: you're tough. Close the window.
- 39:41Speaker 1: It was like that in Philly too, Like I mean,
- 39:43Speaker 1: we played in Philly in December and like the windows
- 39:46Speaker 1: are open in the press box. I'm like, what do
- 39:48Speaker 1: we do? I can't even feel my extremities.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Is there a particular stadium that you guys have been
- 39:52Speaker 4: through that you feel like really welcoming and like they
- 39:55Speaker 4: take good care of you and it's a good act.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Think most of them now, I.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Think the past majority, Like the people you know that
- 40:02Speaker 3: greet you are always nice, and you know the people
- 40:05Speaker 3: that serve for were always nice. Like for example, in
- 40:07Speaker 3: Buffalo a couple of weeks ago, they have this new
- 40:10Speaker 3: thing in the NFL where you have to look at something.
- 40:12Speaker 2: It's biometric and it scans your face.
- 40:15Speaker 3: And the lady in Buffalo goes like, I know what
- 40:18Speaker 3: y'all look like now, but I wish I could see
- 40:20Speaker 3: where you came from so I could have a conversation
- 40:22Speaker 3: with it. And I'm thinking myself, I don't think you
- 40:24Speaker 3: really need to be holding up the.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Line and having a conversations with everybody.
- 40:27Speaker 5: But I do watching some of the people trying to
- 40:30Speaker 5: use the face scanner that you know might be not
- 40:33Speaker 5: and they're like, where do I put my face? I'm like,
- 40:35Speaker 5: just stand in front of it, like it's not that hard.
- 40:37Speaker 2: It works.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Comes how many times a show he makes fun of.
- 40:39Speaker 5: Me might have been a certain But when they.
- 40:48Speaker 3: When they first instituted, this is funny and I won't
- 40:51Speaker 3: give out it the name of the person, but when
- 40:54Speaker 3: they first instituted, it was kind of confusing whether or
- 40:57Speaker 3: not you were at a station where you had to
- 40:58Speaker 3: scan your face or scan and the code that's fair.
- 41:01Speaker 3: And we had an intern here for the PR and
- 41:04Speaker 3: he had his his credential hanging from his belt and the.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Scanner was up here, and he's like, he's like this.
- 41:14Speaker 2: It was the funniest I won't give out.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Now that we have these new like universal road credentials,
- 41:22Speaker 5: very helpful, much better.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Than oh yeah, it's just one credential for every game.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I will admit when I came in the first game
- 41:28Speaker 1: this year, because last year we had to put the
- 41:31Speaker 1: credential under the thing and then you go in and
- 41:34Speaker 1: then there's the facial scanner. Yeah. I'm like no, no, no, no,
- 41:37Speaker 1: you're all set. Yeah. I was like, okay, so you
- 41:41Speaker 1: would have been making fun of me.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Minnesota is you know what they can claim nine to
- 41:44Speaker 4: eleven for all of this.
- 41:45Speaker 2: This is when it started.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Nine to eleven happened, and then thirty years later we
- 41:48Speaker 1: decided to have facial run.
- 41:50Speaker 2: But it's been a grabn't have people.
- 41:53Speaker 6: Sneaking into People sneak into the super Bowl?
- 41:56Speaker 5: Whoa, that's Jersey's a guy think he said now.
- 42:00Speaker 3: But there was a guy that was famous. Sports Illustrated
- 42:02Speaker 3: did a story on him. He'd snuck into every Super
- 42:05Speaker 3: Bowl for like thirty or forty straight years. Wow, and
- 42:07Speaker 3: not only in gets into the game, like gets on
- 42:10Speaker 3: the sideline, gets in the locker room and without like
- 42:14Speaker 3: without a credential.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I got.
- 42:16Speaker 5: I had a fan here once that got into the
- 42:18Speaker 5: media elevator and she like tried to like staight in
- 42:23Speaker 5: with me, like acting like she was with me, and
- 42:26Speaker 5: the woman that you know runs the elevator looked at
- 42:30Speaker 5: me and was like get this, like get her out
- 42:33Speaker 5: of here, and I was like, she's not with me.
- 42:35Speaker 1: She's been drinking some bud light.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, she was feeling no pain. But now with
- 42:39Speaker 5: all this facial recognition stuff, I doubt that that would
- 42:43Speaker 5: you have to get buy some a couple of different checkpoints. Again,
- 42:46Speaker 5: I wonder how the.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Bruins are doing it right now, because I've covered Bruins
- 42:48Speaker 6: games and like, you're up in the halo, but they
- 42:52Speaker 6: also sell seats that's like the banners section.
- 42:55Speaker 8: It's like a area.
- 42:57Speaker 1: I know exactly what a.
- 42:58Speaker 6: Fan had link from the fan area to the reporter side.
- 43:02Speaker 6: So me and bridget Proof from EEI are like looking
- 43:05Speaker 6: over our shoulder and there's this hammered dude double fisting
- 43:09Speaker 6: right next to us, like cheering, and we keep like
- 43:12Speaker 6: turning around.
- 43:12Speaker 8: We're like, how did you get over here? Like what
- 43:14Speaker 8: the hell? And he's like, am I supposed to be here?
- 43:16Speaker 8: We're like definitely not absolutely.
- 43:18Speaker 1: So I noticed this there's usually because I was up
- 43:21Speaker 1: there this about probably like five years ago, and I
- 43:26Speaker 1: was doing some sort of event where they have like
- 43:28Speaker 1: the youth things. So when you're done with the it's
- 43:30Speaker 1: like you sell the fifty fifties, so you got I
- 43:33Speaker 1: was one of the adults that got to go and
- 43:35Speaker 1: make sure the kids, didn't, you know, do anything wrong.
- 43:38Speaker 1: So then they let you go up on the ninth
- 43:40Speaker 1: floor and watch from that deck whatever that they call it.
- 43:43Speaker 1: I'm sure it's yeah. So I go over and there's
- 43:47Speaker 1: like a curtain. Alex is right, there's like really no separation.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's just like this little curtain. And I go over
- 43:52Speaker 1: there because I wanted to see like the Herald guys
- 43:54Speaker 1: that I used to work with, and there's nobody there.
- 43:57Speaker 1: So I just walked over and I'm talking to Steve
- 43:59Speaker 1: Conry for like ten minutes, and then all of a sudden,
- 44:01Speaker 1: the guy shoulders, are you supposed to be here? And
- 44:04Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I used to work at the Herald,
- 44:06Speaker 1: and I was just talking to Steve. I'm gonna have
- 44:08Speaker 1: to ask you. I'm like, no, worry, but there was
- 44:12Speaker 1: nobody there. I would if if there was someone there,
- 44:14Speaker 1: I would have explained what I was trying to do
- 44:16Speaker 1: when asked per mission.
- 44:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Yeah, nobody that stuck into the ninth floor when I
- 44:20Speaker 4: was working for Clinics, like it was video and.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I was like, I'm not going to sit in the
- 44:24Speaker 1: media room.
- 44:24Speaker 4: I'm going up and I, you know, have my popcorn
- 44:26Speaker 4: and my water, and.
- 44:29Speaker 2: They got me.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Then they're like, no, you're gonna have to.
- 44:31Speaker 5: See He used to send bart downstairs too.
- 44:35Speaker 1: It's a terrible place to watch a game.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Oh I love it, crack me.
- 44:38Speaker 1: I mean it's better than the media workroom that I
- 44:39Speaker 1: was there watching.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Did I tell you to ever?
- 44:44Speaker 2: Tell you?
- 44:44Speaker 5: Guys the story of Super Bowl fifty three? And Barth
- 44:48Speaker 5: is like, not in the actual press box. And he
- 44:50Speaker 5: showed up to the game and he thought he was
- 44:52Speaker 5: going to be have a seat in the actual press
- 44:54Speaker 5: box and he didn't, and they sent him back to
- 44:56Speaker 5: the convention Center and he had to watch.
- 44:58Speaker 1: The game.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Auxiliary and then you have to watch on TV.
- 45:09Speaker 5: And I had a seat in the press box with
- 45:12Speaker 5: trags and we only could get to be because of
- 45:15Speaker 5: the limit. And so just by himself, just.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Walking back, you have to go back to the conventions
- 45:21Speaker 1: Center across the.
- 45:21Speaker 5: He did get their post game though he was there
- 45:23Speaker 5: for postgame.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Paul and Andy would have to sit in the auxiliary
- 45:27Speaker 3: press which was outside. It was all pressed, but it
- 45:30Speaker 3: was outside. And someone sent me this picture during the
- 45:32Speaker 3: game and it was like, okay, where's Waldo? Can you
- 45:35Speaker 3: find Paul and Andy? And Andy's head was so big.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I immediately said it was so easy.
- 45:41Speaker 1: I mean, was it that bad? Like I imagine, like
- 45:44Speaker 1: I kind of want to sit in the crowd, like
- 45:47Speaker 1: you don't want to be in but it's but at
- 45:49Speaker 1: least the atmosphere a little more. There's one thing I
- 45:52Speaker 1: don't like about the press box.
- 45:53Speaker 4: It's just so quiet, and you know, he's just I
- 45:55Speaker 4: don't know, I missed the like feeling the flow of
- 45:57Speaker 4: the game and the energy, and you know, it's just
- 45:59Speaker 4: kind of watching in the sanitary setting, which is.
- 46:01Speaker 5: Why the open air press boxes are the best.
- 46:03Speaker 6: So I sit on the level of the press box
- 46:05Speaker 6: where it's all team employees for the most part, so.
- 46:08Speaker 1: We're like, I don't think the apple I don't need that.
- 46:12Speaker 3: All right atmophere eight five five, pass five hundred. Let's
- 46:14Speaker 3: get some calls and emails in nate'son Connecticut.
- 46:18Speaker 2: What's up, Nate, Ny, Nate Hawk holds on time, Sorry
- 46:25Speaker 2: about that.
- 46:28Speaker 8: Long.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I know Christian in LA will never hang up. What's up, Christian?
- 46:32Speaker 14: I will never hang up, especially when Paul's on the
- 46:35Speaker 14: other side, cranky Paul.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, this is for you, buddy. Okay.
- 46:40Speaker 14: I think we're coming out seven too, Like I said,
- 46:42Speaker 14: but I think The main reason why we're going to
- 46:43Speaker 14: come out seven and two is not just the buy
- 46:46Speaker 14: in on the on the coach. I really think that
- 46:48Speaker 14: we're going to be to unleash some of our offensive
- 46:50Speaker 14: weapons on Tennessee. What I mean by that is, I
- 46:53Speaker 14: think Drake May has a lot of rhythm going with
- 46:55Speaker 14: the passing game, except Kyle Williams. I think with Tennessee's
- 46:59Speaker 14: run deepense being what it is, we really need to
- 47:01Speaker 14: put some emphasis this week on forcing the run. I
- 47:04Speaker 14: know it may be May that look good early and
- 47:06Speaker 14: we got Vimandre's problems and Henderson is really developing, but
- 47:10Speaker 14: these games like the ones against teams like Tennessee affords
- 47:13Speaker 14: us the ability to really focus on one particular part
- 47:16Speaker 14: of our game that we really need to push. What
- 47:19Speaker 14: do you guys think about that idea?
- 47:21Speaker 5: Sure I thought about I guess so, but I don't
- 47:24Speaker 5: know if we're there yet as.
- 47:25Speaker 2: A NCH Christian. But like, what is forcing anything good?
- 47:30Speaker 5: I'm not. I don't know if I would say call
- 47:32Speaker 5: it forcing, But some live in game reps of the
- 47:36Speaker 5: run game I think is what this team is missing.
- 47:39Speaker 5: I think they need more time on task. I think
- 47:41Speaker 5: they need more reps. You don't practice in pads anymore.
- 47:45Speaker 5: You don't hit in practice anymore. So the way it
- 47:48Speaker 5: developed the run game is, you know, when it's not
- 47:50Speaker 5: going well. Now, I don't know if you're at the
- 47:53Speaker 5: point yet where you can kind of go into a
- 47:54Speaker 5: game and be like, let's take this as a practice.
- 47:57Speaker 5: You know, like I don't think we're there yet, but
- 47:59Speaker 5: it did you know that dot? Did dot on me?
- 48:02Speaker 5: A little bit of like do they try some different
- 48:04Speaker 5: runs this week? Do they try some new wrinkles? Do
- 48:06Speaker 5: they try some things?
- 48:08Speaker 1: The different part of it I'm interested in. I don't
- 48:10Speaker 1: know anything, as you guys know. I let him break
- 48:13Speaker 1: all the film down, but with Simmons in the middle,
- 48:18Speaker 1: and then if sweat and I don't know, if Sweat
- 48:22Speaker 1: comes back, do you try more outside zone against the team?
- 48:27Speaker 1: Like that?
- 48:27Speaker 5: They've been running a decent amount of it, but I
- 48:32Speaker 5: just maybe you've been practicing some things and you haven't
- 48:35Speaker 5: been ready to bring it to a game yet, and
- 48:37Speaker 5: like this might be the week where all right, well,
- 48:40Speaker 5: if we like try that wham scheme and it doesn't work,
- 48:43Speaker 5: like we probably Drake will pick up the third and
- 48:45Speaker 5: ten and will probably be OK.
- 48:47Speaker 4: It'd be great to get a lead, and then not
- 48:49Speaker 4: only do you get to work on your run game,
- 48:51Speaker 4: but you can also work on your pass defense. Probably
- 48:53Speaker 4: a little bit too, because they're going to be throwing
- 48:55Speaker 4: the ball trying to come back.
- 48:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:56Speaker 5: I hate to like act like we're there at that
- 48:59Speaker 5: point that.
- 49:00Speaker 1: But that's my only Yeah. I mean, I think they're
- 49:02Speaker 1: going to win these games too, But I thought they
- 49:05Speaker 1: were going to win the game last week, and you know,
- 49:07Speaker 1: when was the period of the game where you could
- 49:09Speaker 1: work on your things that you need to improve, Like
- 49:12Speaker 1: they needed to try to score every time they got
- 49:14Speaker 1: the ball because they had to. Yep, And I just
- 49:16Speaker 1: worry that, you know, when you're going this isn't like
- 49:20Speaker 1: the Brady Patriots, where you you know what, We're going
- 49:22Speaker 1: to win this game by as many points as we
- 49:23Speaker 1: want to. Let's work. Let's get the running straight out
- 49:26Speaker 1: this week. Hopefully, like you guys said, they get a lead,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and I think that that could absolutely happen. Get a
- 49:32Speaker 1: lead and then all of a sudden the second half.
- 49:34Speaker 1: We're not necessarily worried about style points. We're trying to
- 49:36Speaker 1: get this running game, get some live reps, and get
- 49:39Speaker 1: some work on it. But I would have thought you
- 49:41Speaker 1: could have done that against the terrible run defense last
- 49:43Speaker 1: week and you couldn't.
- 49:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean all the run game stuff. It's it's angles,
- 49:48Speaker 5: it's you know, techniques, it's in all these different things,
- 49:51Speaker 5: and like it's hard to simulate that type of stuff
- 49:54Speaker 5: in practice, especially the way they practice nowadays. Like maybe
- 49:58Speaker 5: on Wednesdays you can it, but like once you get
- 50:01Speaker 5: to Thursday and Friday especially, you're not really in the
- 50:04Speaker 5: trenches like hitting people at that point.
- 50:08Speaker 3: Colin Pembroke says, I have concerns about the game, first
- 50:11Speaker 3: as the interim bump, but that's minor to me. The
- 50:13Speaker 3: major concerns are Jeffrey Simmons going against Jared Wilson and
- 50:16Speaker 3: our pass defense going against cam Ward. I fear Simmons
- 50:20Speaker 3: could take over and mess up our offense, allowing Ward
- 50:22Speaker 3: to take advantage of our poor pass defense, making the
- 50:25Speaker 3: game close and a trap game. I predict the Patriots
- 50:28Speaker 3: still win, but it's close twenty four to twenty one.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 50:32Speaker 5: I just have a hard time believing the way that
- 50:35Speaker 5: they have schemed the pass protection to really good levels
- 50:41Speaker 5: so far, that like Josh McDaniels and Doug Moron are
- 50:44Speaker 5: going to go into this game and not have a
- 50:46Speaker 5: plan for Jeffrey Simmons that can be somewhat effective, right, So, Like,
- 50:49Speaker 5: it's not like they're going to just say to Jared Wilson, hey,
- 50:53Speaker 5: if he lines up over your outside hip on the
- 50:56Speaker 5: three technique, like good luck kid, Like you know they're
- 50:59Speaker 5: not going to do that. So as much as I
- 51:02Speaker 5: hear his concerns about Jeffrey Simmons, he's a hell of
- 51:04Speaker 5: a player, I have to think that every single snap
- 51:07Speaker 5: ninety eight is going to be accounted for in some
- 51:10Speaker 5: way shape.
- 51:10Speaker 1: And this is sort of you guys, you know, talk
- 51:12Speaker 1: to me a lot about the Saints last week, and
- 51:15Speaker 1: you pointed out all the close games. This isn't that
- 51:18Speaker 1: with Tennessee. It's thirty three, nineteen forty one to twenty
- 51:21Speaker 1: twenty six to nothing. Most of their games have not
- 51:24Speaker 1: been overly competitive. No oh, and the one that they
- 51:28Speaker 1: won was like it was not competitive, Carlos Ball going
- 51:33Speaker 1: into the end zone, Jacob and Illinois.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Would there be any.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Merit to giving the full back westover any touches in
- 51:39Speaker 3: the run game? Fullbacks are generally big guys who are
- 51:42Speaker 3: hard to bring down and might potentially get some easy
- 51:44Speaker 3: short yards for us as well as open up the
- 51:47Speaker 3: play calls for a full back fake making opposing defenses bite.
- 51:52Speaker 5: I love a good full back dive on short yardage.
- 51:55Speaker 5: But I actually think that the full back thing is
- 51:59Speaker 5: relevant in terms of the blocking.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Yeah, what about just lining him up in power eyes.
- 52:03Speaker 5: Well, they they've done some of that, and it hasn't worked.
- 52:06Speaker 5: I think that their absence of having like a true
- 52:10Speaker 5: battering ram fullback has been a factor in why this
- 52:14Speaker 5: run game has not worked, because it's a big part
- 52:16Speaker 5: of what they want to do schematically, and what Josh
- 52:19Speaker 5: has done schematically in his history.
- 52:21Speaker 1: And off season needs list of him.
- 52:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that they wanted uh scout with that
- 52:25Speaker 5: undrafted free agent. They wanted brock Lampy to be the
- 52:28Speaker 5: full back, and he was going to make the roster
- 52:30Speaker 5: as back as the full back, and he got hurt
- 52:35Speaker 5: and and then like Westover is not a full back
- 52:37Speaker 5: like and this is no disrespect to Westover, he's just
- 52:40Speaker 5: he's just not a full back. Like, he doesn't have
- 52:42Speaker 5: that low center of gravity, he's not dense enough like,
- 52:44Speaker 5: he's just he's not built like a full back. So
- 52:47Speaker 5: I am a little bit surprised that they haven't brought
- 52:49Speaker 5: in any uh competition or you know, kicked around at all,
- 52:54Speaker 5: you know, Like I think yak of Johnson, like they
- 52:56Speaker 5: probably could have signed him. I think he's on the
- 52:58Speaker 5: practice squad in Houston maybe for a little while. Like
- 53:02Speaker 5: the fact that they never really pivoted off of Jack
- 53:04Speaker 5: Westover has been interesting.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Okay, let's see Tom in New Jersey. Feels great that
- 53:10Speaker 3: the Patriots are top of the division. It seems like
- 53:12Speaker 3: perhaps a playoff birth is a real possibility. With that said,
- 53:16Speaker 3: what position do you think is the biggest need that
- 53:19Speaker 3: should be addressed via the trade in season? Be a
- 53:21Speaker 3: trade in season, and we talked about that yet, running
- 53:24Speaker 3: running back, linebacker or safety?
- 53:27Speaker 5: Right yeah, I'd say it sounds like there's going to
- 53:31Speaker 5: be a market for running backs and I that, to
- 53:35Speaker 5: me right now is the one position that you could
- 53:37Speaker 5: probably trade for and immediately have that player contribute. Like
- 53:41Speaker 5: I think at linebacker in safety you probably are you'd
- 53:44Speaker 5: have to really go out and trade for a true
- 53:46Speaker 5: upgraded player at that spot to like take the players
- 53:50Speaker 5: that are currently playing off the field for that guy.
- 53:53Speaker 5: But at running back, you need a third running back,
- 53:55Speaker 5: Like you're not going to make it through the season
- 53:56Speaker 5: with two guys.
- 53:57Speaker 3: I agree this is interest Jack in Barcelona. Uh have
- 54:02Speaker 3: been listening since six and for the very first time,
- 54:06Speaker 3: I'm enjoying our team victories on and off the field.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Before the so called good times, there was always something
- 54:13Speaker 3: that made me not enjoy fully the team's success. And
- 54:17Speaker 3: right now the victories are really enjoyable. I wonder what
- 54:20Speaker 3: that is, Like, why wouldn't you be enjoying.
- 54:22Speaker 2: It back then?
- 54:24Speaker 1: I have a guess he's having fun.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Oh you think so?
- 54:26Speaker 1: Yeah, really, I don't think you. Probably was a huge
- 54:29Speaker 1: fan of the coach Okay sucks who sucked the air
- 54:33Speaker 1: out of every room he was ever in, And.
- 54:34Speaker 4: It might totally not be what he's talking about, but
- 54:36Speaker 4: I felt like in those years there was always this
- 54:39Speaker 4: overriding pressure of like, yeah, that was great winner loss,
- 54:42Speaker 4: but like, what's gonna happen in the NFCY champions.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Right back in, Jack, I'd be curious to see you
- 54:46Speaker 1: know why, you know why you felt that way. But
- 54:49Speaker 1: my guess would be he wasn't a huge Belichick fan,
- 54:52Speaker 1: So all right, put one down.
- 54:53Speaker 5: He's having fun in the beginning, you know, with obviously
- 54:56Speaker 5: oh one, like they were underdogs, but I'm with deuced,
- 54:59Speaker 5: Like eventually it became a pressure of being the favorite
- 55:02Speaker 5: of like.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Clocks ticking on if you lose, but like if you.
- 55:06Speaker 5: Lose in the AFC Championship game or the super Bowl, like.
- 55:09Speaker 1: What you want? And he didn't find it all? You
- 55:12Speaker 1: know that.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Yeah, but I can I understand if that's what he's
- 55:15Speaker 5: coming from. I under like there was you always got
- 55:18Speaker 5: a little bit like this one. It's like you're kind
- 55:19Speaker 5: of playing with house money a little bit. Like when
- 55:21Speaker 5: they were in the peak, it was kind of.
- 55:25Speaker 8: Like defend the wall. Yeah, there was people.
- 55:28Speaker 5: Pressure that too.
- 55:29Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, I just how could you have
- 55:30Speaker 4: a worse loss than two thousand and seven when you
- 55:32Speaker 4: win every game except the last one? You know, like
- 55:35Speaker 4: it's like, you know, it's high class problems to have.
- 55:37Speaker 4: It's like hard to explain it to somebody's never even
- 55:39Speaker 4: been to a super Bowl. But it's like when you're
- 55:41Speaker 4: at that point and you had you thread the needle
- 55:43Speaker 4: for whatever it was eighteen weeks and then the last one,
- 55:46Speaker 4: you know, it comes down to the last few plays,
- 55:48Speaker 4: and yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 2: That was I get it. I get it.
- 55:54Speaker 1: I understand why losses were disappointing. I don't understand why
- 55:56Speaker 1: wins weren't. You know, I'd like to hear, because.
- 56:00Speaker 5: I think you were, like there was a point where
- 56:03Speaker 5: it was.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Checking boxes almost you would.
- 56:06Speaker 5: It would it felt worse to lose than it felt
- 56:08Speaker 5: great to win, like if that makes sense, And so
- 56:11Speaker 5: that's generally so when winning was like a relief, whereas
- 56:15Speaker 5: losing was just devastating.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I've always felt winning was worse than I mean,
- 56:20Speaker 1: losing felt worse than winning felt good totally, And every
- 56:23Speaker 1: score I ever played, yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 8: Totally like a lot of expectations.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Yeah, like checking boxes, Like you know, it's like you
- 56:30Speaker 4: lose the game you're like thinking about all week, and
- 56:32Speaker 4: then you win it.
- 56:32Speaker 1: It's just like, yeah, done what we're supposed to do it,
- 56:35Speaker 1: We're moving on now. I would absolutely agree with you
- 56:38Speaker 1: guys right now, like in the app, you know, still
- 56:41Speaker 1: new and it's if they lose, everybody's going to be disappointed,
- 56:44Speaker 1: but you're still going to be excited that Drake May
- 56:46Speaker 1: is what he is and the team is heading in
- 56:48Speaker 1: the right direction.
- 56:48Speaker 4: You didn't just lose home field advantage in the AFC
- 56:51Speaker 4: because you had a brain fart.
- 56:53Speaker 2: In October at Pittsburgh, Kyle and Marshfield.
- 56:57Speaker 3: As we know, the Patriots having tough time running the ball,
- 57:00Speaker 3: and he understands that a lot of that is because
- 57:02Speaker 3: teams are having eight in the box. So he's wondering,
- 57:04Speaker 3: what are the stats for the Patriots running game when
- 57:07Speaker 3: teams don't play in the box.
- 57:09Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a good question. They're they're about the same.
- 57:12Speaker 5: I was looking at this yesterday, but we are dealing
- 57:15Speaker 5: with a pretty small sample size, so it's hard to
- 57:19Speaker 5: say because like they've only really run into light boxes,
- 57:22Speaker 5: like I don't know, twenty five times, right, so, like
- 57:26Speaker 5: it's not a huge sample, but they are about the same.
- 57:30Speaker 5: So right now, if you wanted to make that case
- 57:32Speaker 5: to take to that next step, right now, they're not
- 57:34Speaker 5: running well against either box, Let'll.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Say Sam's in Connecticut. Hey Sam, Hey, Yeah that's.
- 57:42Speaker 15: How's it going good?
- 57:44Speaker 16: Okay, yep, okay cool. I just had one question about
- 57:49Speaker 16: Kyle Williams, just because we haven't really heard too much
- 57:54Speaker 16: about him recently. Do you guys have any reports on
- 57:57Speaker 16: like how he's been doing in general from like practices
- 58:00Speaker 16: or stuff like that. Did it have been promising or
- 58:04Speaker 16: is it? Does he still seem pretty far away? I
- 58:07Speaker 16: just haven't really hurt much. So I don't hear thought.
- 58:10Speaker 4: I mean, we don't know how they do in practice,
- 58:11Speaker 4: but I will say I thought Stefan Diggs had an
- 58:13Speaker 4: interesting thing he said yesterday his locker where he's just saying, man,
- 58:16Speaker 4: Kyle missed that Gobal. We wanted it for him so bad,
- 58:19Speaker 4: like he's been, you know, scratching the surface, and you know,
- 58:22Speaker 4: just hearing Stefan Diggs kind of talk about it, you
- 58:24Speaker 4: could tell that he's been making some plays and that
- 58:26Speaker 4: they're pulling for him and that they really want him
- 58:29Speaker 4: to be part of this success that that.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Whole group is having right now. I thought that was
- 58:33Speaker 1: kind of interesting.
- 58:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that he has moments on film. I just think
- 58:36Speaker 5: that his uh, the connection between him and Drake May
- 58:39Speaker 5: right now is new and it's not necessarily a finished product.
- 58:43Speaker 5: You know, he had an out in the game for
- 58:45Speaker 5: example last week where Drake kind of overthrew it, didn't
- 58:47Speaker 5: throw a great ball, and he threw like an in
- 58:50Speaker 5: cut to him later on in the game as one
- 58:51Speaker 5: of his few misses in the game as well, and
- 58:55Speaker 5: so some of the just ball placement, you know, where
- 58:58Speaker 5: exactly is he going to be, like, what are his
- 59:01Speaker 5: like steps out of the break and like all those
- 59:03Speaker 5: like little nuances I think are still they're still working on.
- 59:07Speaker 5: But then you won't look at the speed and the
- 59:09Speaker 5: separation and it is there and flashes. So that's encouraging.
- 59:13Speaker 5: But right now, every time he targets him, it seems
- 59:17Speaker 5: like it's just a little bit, a little bit off.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Eldred's in North Carolina. What's up, Eldred?
- 59:25Speaker 13: Hey, Hey, they're doing.
- 59:29Speaker 9: I'm doing. Thank you?
- 59:30Speaker 16: Hey, Paul, Yes, sir, to try out Tuesday Wednesday.
- 59:36Speaker 8: I think one was.
- 59:39Speaker 16: I think Commanders and some.
- 59:41Speaker 8: Way up another another team.
- 59:43Speaker 6: That that's hurting receivers heard but never heard heard that nail.
- 59:49Speaker 1: But I don't want him either, No, of course you don't.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I didn't love him, big slow receiver.
- 59:56Speaker 5: That's style versus Yeah, but right, I'm open, yeah, yeah, big.
- 1:00:06Speaker 16: Prediction thirty thirty thirteen.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Thirty thirteen. Okay, sounds good.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I'll take that team. I could see something, all right, Eldred.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Thanks for the call.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: One more email out from Wisconsin. Really enjoying these wins
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: because there's nobody on the team I have problems rooting
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: for since the Brady era. Each win irked me for
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: different reasons. When Bill was clearly done.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: I worriedesting to me, yeah, I worried that.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: A handful of wins would keep a clearly declining coach around.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: When Mac was quarterback, I worried that each win might
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: cement the guy I didn't like rooting for as my
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: team's quarterback. Now I like the team, I like the coach,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: and I love the quarterback.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Well, there you go.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: Okay, this is my favorite locker room since I've been here.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, I pray all right. Well, nothing like a
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: little winning streak.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Yeah, hungry too, Yeah, I'm hungry.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: I got to eat. All right, We're gonna take a break.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: We'll come back. Thanks for coming later. So we got

- 1:03:01Speaker 19: Twenty one plus age in eligibility here he's by jurisdiction
- 1:03:04Speaker 19: all right.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Excited now to be joined by Patriots captain Roberts Blaine. Robert,
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: thanks for sitting down with us here today.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I appreciate you, guys.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: I got to start with Tennessee, though I know that's
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: where you started your career. Just when you look back
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: from where you started to where you are now, does
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: it make your head spin a little bit? How far
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: have you come?
- 1:03:18Speaker 20: Yeah, It's it's crazy to look back eight years ago
- 1:03:21Speaker 20: and see that undrafted player who was stepping into what
- 1:03:25Speaker 20: he didn't know that what.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: The future would hold.
- 1:03:27Speaker 20: So to be here today looking back on those moments
- 1:03:30Speaker 20: is special to me.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Robert.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: It seems like your comfort level in the defense. I
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: know you've played in this defense before, but just improves
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: week to week and you guys are really starting to
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: come together. How what has led to That's kind of
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: the process that's led to where we are now.
- 1:03:44Speaker 20: Yeah, most importantly for me, it's getting to know the
- 1:03:46Speaker 20: people in front of you, behind you, next to and
- 1:03:49Speaker 20: how they like to play. And every week is another
- 1:03:51Speaker 20: week of confidence and the guys around myself confidence within myself.
- 1:03:56Speaker 20: So I'm really excited to see how our defense is
- 1:03:59Speaker 20: trending right now.
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: The run, Deven's been great, and I'm just wondering, you know,
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: you're a big part of that obviously, like what goes
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: into that? What are some of the schematics you guys
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: are able to do to stop the run.
- 1:04:09Speaker 20: Yeah, there's a ton of schematics that can go into it,
- 1:04:12Speaker 20: but at the end of the day, you have to
- 1:04:13Speaker 20: be able to beat the man in front of you,
- 1:04:15Speaker 20: get off a block, and make a tackle.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: And I really think our D line has really.
- 1:04:20Speaker 20: Been extraordinary in the run defense, especially this year, taking
- 1:04:24Speaker 20: on double teams, getting off double teams, bar More is
- 1:04:28Speaker 20: off to block Melton. Our edge players have been freaking
- 1:04:32Speaker 20: havoc all year. So I'm really proud to play behind
- 1:04:35Speaker 20: such a dominant D line.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: What's up been like for you those two guys.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: I mean, you've seen the amount of disruption that they
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: cause in front of you, and how they just have
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: the ability seem like the blow plays up there.
- 1:04:44Speaker 20: Yeah, they demand a lot of attention up front and
- 1:04:47Speaker 20: in the middle. And when you get guys that are
- 1:04:49Speaker 20: dominant up there, it makes offense have to game plan
- 1:04:53Speaker 20: around them. So we've been seeing a lot of runs
- 1:04:58Speaker 20: that maybe bow In our favorite to try to run
- 1:05:00Speaker 20: it away from those guys.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: Yet next to you joining to By just came back
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: last couple of weeks. You know what is he brought
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: to the defense in the linebacker room.
- 1:05:07Speaker 20: Yeah, he's a physical, dominating, veteran presidence out there who knows.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: How to play football.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: He is a true football player.
- 1:05:14Speaker 20: It doesn't matter where you put him at on the field, inside, outside,
- 1:05:18Speaker 20: deep in coverage, blitzing.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: He's got a.
- 1:05:21Speaker 20: Real knack and for the game and for violence as well.
- 1:05:25Speaker 20: He's not afraid to put his hands on people at
- 1:05:27Speaker 20: any time when it.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: Comes to you know, Zach Korr and just him running
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: this defense last couple of weeks, what's it been like
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: playing for him and what does he bring to the
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: table as a coaching.
- 1:05:37Speaker 20: Yeah, he brings so much clarity and confidence within the
- 1:05:40Speaker 20: game plan. His way of articulating it is clear and precise.
- 1:05:45Speaker 20: He knows how he wants the defense to look, and
- 1:05:47Speaker 20: he emphasizes it. And I always say coaches are going
- 1:05:50Speaker 20: to get what the emphasize. So emphasize an effort, swarm
- 1:05:54Speaker 20: to the ball, attempts on the ball, and that's and
- 1:05:58Speaker 20: that's where our defense is trending right now.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys have had two games on the road.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: You've got a third game now, kind of rare in
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: the NFL. Just what can that do for the team?
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: You guys a lot of road trips, you're together a
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: lot early in the season. Can I kind of build
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: the team up a little.
- 1:06:09Speaker 20: Bit, no doubt, especially with such a new team here,
- 1:06:12Speaker 20: with so many new guys in this locker room. These
- 1:06:15Speaker 20: moments are moments of bonding, moments to get to get
- 1:06:18Speaker 20: around your guys and really get to know each other
- 1:06:21Speaker 20: at a deeper level, and hopefully those connections are going
- 1:06:24Speaker 20: to pay dividends for us later down the line.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Last question for me, what's it like being a captain
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: for Mike Rabel, Like, what goes into that?
- 1:06:31Speaker 20: What sort of your expectations are very high. I've always
- 1:06:36Speaker 20: had high expectations for myself, but it makes me hold
- 1:06:39Speaker 20: myself to a higher standard. I know I need to
- 1:06:41Speaker 20: be visible for my teammates. I need to be a
- 1:06:45Speaker 20: teammate that people trust and can rely on, a clear
- 1:06:49Speaker 20: voice of the defense, and somebody that they can turn
- 1:06:52Speaker 20: to when something's going wrong. So every day I just
- 1:06:55Speaker 20: strive to try to be the best teammate that could be.
- 1:06:57Speaker 20: And we take it one day at a time.
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: Our game on the schedule coming up next, one's up.
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: What are you looking from for your defense down there?
- 1:07:05Speaker 20: Keep the main thing, the main thing, Keep our identity, Uh,
- 1:07:09Speaker 20: first and foremost. We need to rely on our identity,
- 1:07:11Speaker 20: especially in these away games. Who are we as a
- 1:07:14Speaker 20: defensive ball hawking, physical defense, who's going to play with
- 1:07:18Speaker 20: one hundred percent pure effort every snap of the game,
- 1:07:22Speaker 20: whistle to whistle.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: We see that, honestly, Like we watch a lot of
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: the of the day. We're kind of you know, guys
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: nerds like call it that, and like you guys fly
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: around and you play with a ton of hustle and uh,
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: you know, just attitude, and we we.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Definitely play a couple of weeks ago, you seven guys,
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: everybody's right there and four more ready to jump.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: On it, no doubt.
- 1:07:44Speaker 20: And and that has to be the style of our defense.
- 1:07:46Speaker 20: That's the type of people this organization has brought in,
- 1:07:49Speaker 20: the blue collar work ethic people, and we're going to
- 1:07:52Speaker 20: continue to play to it.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Awesome, awesome, thanks you.

- 1:11:48Speaker 2: History.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Why the Patriots never blew anybody out in the Super
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: Bowl says always been a mystery to me.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I think they kind of low key one night, you know.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: I never felt like everyone says that he never had
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: any fear of losing the game against frances I never
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: had any fear of losing.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: That's exactly.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: I had fear of.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Going to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game, and I
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: know what the score ended up being, but that game,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: to me was the Super Bowl. I never had any fear.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: I thought that the Patriots did not play particularly well
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: in the first half of that game. The second half
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: they asserted their dominance. They got a ten point lead
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: with whatever it was three minutes left. Yep, Eagles got
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: to know by the way, touchdown at the end.
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: It's a perfect comparison exactly how I never felt that
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: game was in doubt.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't feel fear it myself. Yeah.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: You were thinking you were at that one for oh god, yeah,

- 1:14:08Speaker 2: To This is flag football.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I got out. I got out, coach.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Something tells me somebody's overthinking.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: It took over a half to realize the other team
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: was playing zone last game.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Well it's interesting because you can study this stuff, but
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: then when you actually have to like put it into practice,
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: it's a little bit more of a challenge, That's all
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: I say.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: And he's got playmakers.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: He just comes mom, coach do So said I have
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: to play in a show. I don't want to play
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: in a show. I want to play in a universe.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: It was even worse. The kids were saying that they
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: lost because of the coach.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Oh my hand pick.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Quarterback has already turned on me. Wow wow.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: I think I think he was catching some flak though,
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: and he's just you know, he's putting the blame on me.

- 1:15:59Speaker 13: think of you know, when it happened with the Patriots too,
- 1:16:02Speaker 13: you know when they had Carris and they had Shaq
- 1:16:07Speaker 13: Mason and their their interior was good, and they let
- 1:16:10Speaker 13: them go and then they made that strange pick. So
- 1:16:13Speaker 13: that kind of let us down where, you know, to
- 1:16:15Speaker 13: where we had to rebuild.
- 1:16:18Speaker 21: Now, on a positive note, this season, even though the
- 1:16:22Speaker 21: Patriots are four and too, there's only one team that
- 1:16:25Speaker 21: beat the Patriots, and that's the New England Patriots. So
- 1:16:29Speaker 21: if they don't beat themselves, they're going to win. And
- 1:16:33Speaker 21: I'm going to guarantee another win this Sunday against the Titans.
- 1:16:38Speaker 21: I'm saying Patriots thirty five, Titans fourteen, So go Pats
- 1:16:43Speaker 21: and I'll make it quick.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Thanks ticker, Okay, thanks Sean beat down ye wanting to
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: get back here? Did thirty five fourteen Patriots are the
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: only team that can beat them in this game, in
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: this game, he said, all the games.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: All the game. Oh, I disagree with that, you know,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: but the only team. I mean, I disagree with that.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: Again, we talked about this yesterday, but you said it, Paul,
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: there's not a big difference between these teams.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: I think there's I think there's a difference between these
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: two particular teams in light of everything that Alex and
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Evans talked about at the start, like this, there's a
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: lot of stuff going on in Tennessee, right, that goes
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: far beyond the lack of talent on the roster.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but up and down the schedule, that's not the
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Case's not.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not a lot of those Like New Orleans
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: last week was every bit as good as you were.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Drake may was the difference. He was a little better
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: than Spencer Ratler.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: You know he was able to throw the ball into
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: the end zone from afar, right, I mean, you end
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: up making a couple of big plays for touchdowns from
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: a that's like that was the difference in the game.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Rattler was kicking field goals. Well, May you know three
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: big play touchdowns.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: Franklin and Baltimore. I'd say Paul's statement about Belichick is correct.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: I'm thinking about when the Eagles beat the Patriots, in
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: the Super Bowl and one of the players said the
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: Patriots didn't make winning look like any fun. I think
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: that was Lane Johnson or something else.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Lane Johnson, Yeah, I.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: Believe Brady Express expressed something similar after we won in Tampa.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Looking back, outside of the blowouts, the best one being
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: the butt fumble game, can't recall many of the closer
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: games being fun to follow. Wow, all this stuff is
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: coming out now, Like, where were you back when we
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: were winning.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: I don't remember people saying I'm not having fun? And
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: I had fun.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Andy and I were there, Okay, just walks alone that
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Cincinnati twenty fourteen game on to Cincinnati. That was a
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: fun That was a fun game. That was a fun one.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: That was a fun game. But I understand the point
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: that I think people are making, Like both that you
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: guys said about they were so good that sometimes the
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: winning was so expected that you didn't really enjoy it
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: as much. But I think it was I think it
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: had to do with the personnel. We had a famous
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: argument Andy and I with Fred. I don't remember when
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: it was, but it was like in the middle of
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: all the dynasty and I just said, very simply, if
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: you could be guaranteed all the wins. And I'm not
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: changing the result of any single game. But I could
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: put another coach in place of Belichick, Andy Reid, you know,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: would be you know, whoever? Would you do it in? Fredza?
- 1:19:28Speaker 19: No?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: And I was like, you're not You're not being honest,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Like it's it's intellectually dishonest. You can't possibly think that
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: that's the way you have to do it. Like I'm
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: telling you it's the same in terms of the result.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: You wouldn't rather have a like Mike Rabel Like you
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: know you like that one, huh? Like isn't that much
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: more enjoyable to watch?
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: And yeah, I think the fans embraced his.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Right because they thought that was why they were winning.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: And now but I think time has told us that.
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: But I think the fans also liked the ambracive guy
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: to the media.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Because they thought that's why they won.
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: Okay, at that Super Bowl it was like, Bill, do
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: you need anyone murdered for you?
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: Like that?
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: I think having that weird guy as your head coach
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: was part of the charisma.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: And you know, you know, scowling and where the where
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: the bad guys? But we're winning and like but I think.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: A lot of other people looked at it and said,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: you don't have to be a jerk. Yeah, you know,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: it would be better if he was in the situation. No,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: I'm not doubting you guys. There was probably people that
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: embraced it. The Wall morons embraced it. They did. But
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: I but I look at it and said, like, you
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: can't possibly look back and say, oh, that's why they won.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: And I think that's why the Wall people embraced it.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: They thought that was the only way to win. Yeah, Well,
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: because Belichick brainwashed everybody into thinking if I don't talk
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: to the media, not mean to everybody, and we don't
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: do this, and we don't do that, we don't pay
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: anybody this, we don't do that, and like that's how
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: you win. And you realize, no, that's not the only
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: way to win.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: As someone who created the Bill Belichick hoodie database, I'd
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: say I was really enamored with the genius of Bill Belichick. Genius,
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: you know, of the genie and that I wanted to know, why, why,
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: what schematically does this guy do differently? How does he
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: see the game differently? And that was what was most
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: interesting to me. I did the hoodie thing. It's like,
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: you know, kind of a fun joke. But at the
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: same time, what drew me to him was not the
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: snarly attitude or the way he seemed to resent.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: The media, was they're calling this guy a genius? What
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: is that? You know? Why?
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:21:45Speaker 19: Like?
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: What does he do? I played football, and I know,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: you know, and that was you know, kind of my
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: personal take on it.
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: But I listened a lot of what Julian Edelman says
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: now about how much he like felt sick coming to
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: this building every day, and you know, I just I
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: wondered the same question. And for some of the players,
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: you know, it was really hard on them too, having to,
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: you know, always be on top of everything.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I think everybo and.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: Everybody was damn lucky we had Tom Brady for sure,
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: because if the quarterback wasn't playing along now, it would
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: have been a disaster.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: But you know what, you know what stood out to
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: me and I shoot, I forget who wrote it. It
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: might have been the Herald Guys, it might have been Kied,
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: But there was an article written about Rabel demanding guys
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: get home to their families, and you know that being
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: a key part of and not just to me, resonated greatly,
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: as you know, back in the day when I had
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: an old job and you know, working with kids and
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: just how hard it could be and you know, trying
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: to manage everything, and you know, seeing him really pick
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: a stand on that and demanding that guys, you know,
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: get out of here by five five thirty is you
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: know that to me is polar opposite of what we can.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Well, that's kind of the new NFL. I think a
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: lot of coaches are leaning that way. I mean, I
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: remember Dick Vermeil toward the end regretted. I think he said,
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: you know, all those nights I spent in the office,
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: sleeping in the office and not going home to see
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: my family.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: And I think towards the end he.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Was like that with his his uh and I think
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: I forget who was the other coach, Like if you're
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: still here at midnight, we're doing it wrong. Like there's
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: something wrong, We're not doing it right, if you're still
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: here at midnight. That's kind of a new thing I
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: think in the NFL is like we have all this technology,
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: everything's digitized, you know, like there's no reason to be
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: spending all this time. It's all right there on computers
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: for us on iPads, that that's supposed to make our
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: work more efficient.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's it's going to go so far
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: just for you know, the families and the wives at home.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: We're having to manage everything without these guys for a
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: large portion of the year. And you know, now they're
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: more supportive of what the what you're working because.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: The organization got that for a long time, you know,
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: like you know for years, like like during the draft,
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: knowing that everybody's going to be here all the time,
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: they would like say and they would have dinners where
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: the families would come.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: They would send flowers to the homes, like they would like.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Take into consideration that these guys have families. Let's make
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: sure these families are taken care of during these times
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: when they're never home.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like it goes back to when I were
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: a marside growing up and down the cape and they
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: get in. You need some food, you're good, you hunger,
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: you know, they take care of you. You know after
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: you want to hang out afterwards, have a drink, talk
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: about the world's problems, you know.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: The maide.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Yeah, they took a carry and but you.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Know, don't know that he's relating a restaurant job to
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: But as an when you feel I think as an
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: employee that you're taking care of and that you know
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: and you're now I'm going to take care of the restaurant.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: I wouldn't know.
- 1:24:43Speaker 8: You never worked in the services.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Any industry that they did that.
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: They made you feel like the herald.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: You want to fish and when your the herald did die. Yeah,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: that was what they told me. You're done, you do this,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: you do this, you do this is when you've done,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: you go home.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: No, I was.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: I was of my favorite song that was like I
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: had my first breakup.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: I've talked about this before, you know it with all
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: these waitresses like they just shift would end, they'd be like.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Have a Heineken, let's talk about it.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: You know, they talk me through my breakup that I
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: was going like Teddy Bridgewater, Yeah yeah, right.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Now a mechanic, you know that's exactly. But they loved it.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: You know, all these like you know, middle aged waitresses
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: down you know Cape like his college can.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: Just broke up.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: His company's all broke up about I thought, you.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: Know, yeah, I think there's I think there's more Ted
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: Lasso's out there now than Bill Belichick's.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I and we know some of it.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: But I just I wonder how much that's still how
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: he is exactly. I mean, I'm sure he's softened a
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: little bit for the college game, but it doesn't sound
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: like he's softening too much.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: Yeah, let's see talking about flag football.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Mike Hello.
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: Michael writes in picture this, who wins in a seven
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: on seven flag football game? All in their prime? Team
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: one is Paul Drake, May, Gronk, Randy Moss, Danny Amandola,
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: Deon Lewis and Stefan Gilmour. Team too is Fred, Tom Brady, Hunter,
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Henry Stefon Diggs, Chris Hogan, James White, and Christian Gonzales.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: My team, you, Drake, I have Tom Brady Brady. But
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: flag football is more running around. So I don't know
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: if Brady translates, you're.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: In your prime, you being your prime prime. So I'm
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: playing free safety. I'm picking everything Brady, I'm picking him
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: off reading his eyes.
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Gronk and Randy Moss, that's pretty tough in a
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: flag football game, that's pretty tough. Yeah, I feel a
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: out of place, but I would say that Deon Lewis,
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: He's quick.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: Give me a hockey game. I just say unequivocally, I
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: would not want any part of being on the field
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: with all of those players, all of those athletes.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Well, maybe you're the coach.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: My Achilles just popped exactly all.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: Right, James Petty grew the most interesting Patriots fan in
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: the world. As a question for Evan, he wants to
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: get the All Media twenty two. I'd like to see
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: some of those old Mayo interactions with Evan.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Did he have interactions with Mayo? Evan not really, No, No, I.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Thought off the Flag game. Evan didn't play in the
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Flag Game. Yeah, I think my team would win fifty
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: seven to four, and that this flag game, you get
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: those two. I know the reference just like a six
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: to seventh time what Joe Mizzoula did to the media
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: fifty seven to four. I tell you, if that was
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: the Bruins and they were like, hey, I would hop
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: right out there. I'd be ready to go.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: Audrey says congratulations to Paul for not only losing weight
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: but keeping it off. We know that you gave up
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: your pew lunches of subs, pizza and nuggets.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Can you.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: Please share what else you gave up. What do you
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: eat now for breakfast and lunch? Do you embrace walking?
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: We know you don't love Veggie her exercise, so we
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: are all very impressed. Please share what work for you
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: because it may help many devoted listeners.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: So it's just basically the lunch. I'd never really been
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: a breakfast guy, so I didn't give up anything there.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: But I don't eat lunch five days a week the
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: way I used to the three days in the radio. Yeah,
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: but I haven't really given up a whole lot. The
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: three days a week that we're on the radio that
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: I used to get a sub with fred every day.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: I don't do that anymore. But I still I'll get
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: something three thousand on Monday, and I'll get something on Friday.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: You know, we've invited Mike Doseau to join us Freddy
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: on Fridays with Finance. I'm part of Okay, so now
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Mike joins us at Red Robin. So it's not like
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: I'm eating well bottomless fries. Yes, yes, and they deliver it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: But I usually if if my wife is working, she's
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: a nurse, so sometimes she works a little later. If
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: she's working, I'll get a lunch because I'm not necessarily
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: going to have a big dinner when I get home,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: and when she's off fits the opposite. I know she's
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: going to cook something because she's a wonderful.
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: Wife's way less calories and way less intermnute fast.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Yeah without necessarily formerly intermittent fast, but that's probably what
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: it is. And I don't I'm not anti exercise. I'm
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: just not a big workout guy. Getting ready to hit
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: the weight room though, aren't you in the winter? Yeah?
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: I got some how much you bench? What do you
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: call on these days? Besides you?
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Hear Steve? Don't you have Andy take you to the gym?
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Yeah? That's too much? But you know I can put
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: on you have the big.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Gallon water, the belt, the milk jug filled with.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Water, the empty nest. Thing is starting to hit a
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: little bit, and I think I'm like gonna work out
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: Putting the chalk on his hands, get.
- 1:29:49Speaker 8: The wraps cut off, and the.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Will has a couple of you perfect loser loser.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: Oh boy, all right, it's that time of the week.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: Wow, Hi o sat not so much for the spread?
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: All right, Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: I'm not ready yet.
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: Oh hold on, I caught you.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Okay, So last week Mike led the way at twelve
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: and three Wow, followed by Paul ten and five, Alex
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: and Fred eight and seven, and Evan who's seven and eight.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: Young Laser, Young Laser not doing too well with the spread, Mike,
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: Paul and Fred seven and eight off week, Alex five
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: and ten, and Evan four and eleven. You'll start to
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: see something trend developing him. Overall season standings, Fred and
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: Alex maintained their top spot at sixty thirty two and one,
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: followed by Mike at fifty seven thirty five and one.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: This Mike's twelve and three week solidified a third place
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: but no longer a poop emoji for Paul. Oh fifty
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: three thirty nine and one, one game ahead of Evan
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: at fifty two forty and one. Okay, all right, I
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: just chef's kiss with the spread. Fred is the only
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: one doing anything fifty one and forty two. The rest
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: of us are below five hundred. However, Paul in second
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: place at forty five and this has been a long
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: road back to mediocre forty five and forty eight, followed
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: by Alex forty three and fifty, Evan forty one and
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: fifty two, and poop emoji for Mike at thirty nine
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: and fifty four, two back, two back. So okay, it's
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: been tighty it's tightening. I've won nothing at this point.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: I've won nothing yet, but just feeling better, feeling good.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: Congratulations to me for no longer being in last place.
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: Just because compared to the last year when we all
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: like well above well about five hundred against the spread,
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: and this year it's been a little bit of the ground.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: The only one that has the feel for the wait, and.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: I'm starting to fall a little man. That's the thing
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: about the spread. You play long enough, you'll end up
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: fifty fifth.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: I try to tell my son that they all love
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: the stuff, like with the DraftKings and everything else. And
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you know, you can tell me how much you win
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: every week. I don't care. You're not going to win. Yeah,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: you will lose eventually, we lose.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: Yep, yep, all right.
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: Let's start with tonight in fifteen on Prime Video. It's
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: the four and one Steelers against the two and four Bengals.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: Bengals wearing their white uniforms with the black.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Stripes white tiger yeah, snow Tiger or something like that. Yeah,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: I think they should wear black uniforms with white stripes.
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: Oh, that might be interesting.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: Pittsburgh by five and a half to forty plus year
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: old quarterbacks.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: Oh Flacco at home. I think I want to stick Pittsburgh.
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: He did a better team, and I am tempted with
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: us points on a Thursday night divisional game, but I'm
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: gonna lay them tonight.
- 1:33:09Speaker 8: Pittsburgh Cincinnati cover.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: So I'm gonna wimp out and do what Alex did.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: I think Cincinnati's got a shot tonight. I think the
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: second half of the game at Lambeau last week for
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: Cincinnati is the first time the Bengals looked anything resembling
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: the Joe Burrow Bengals, and I wonder if they found
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: something or if it was just one of those, you know,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: a little periods where Flacco got a little hot. So
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I'm not quite ready to say Cincinnati is gonna win
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: this game tonight, but I will take the points. I'll
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: take Pittsburgh in the points for Cincinnati.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: This is a hot air balloon games. Something's up, Something's up?
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: What would be up? I'm just curious. That's a big
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: spread for Division No.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: Like Mike said, that's it should be bigger now. But
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: but remember from perception it should be bigger. But the
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: Sharps know better. There's no love loss between these two teams.
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: As Paul said, it's a division game, so you want
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: to take the Bendal Bengals to cover. So Paul and
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: Alex get it right. But the Steelers do win. But
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: Bengals Bengals play tough, uh and and they do cover.
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: But if you if you just look at this game
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: without you would say, oh, you know, eight seven points,
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: eight points.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: But it's not so keep that in mind.
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: Road something Thursday night, division game and he thinks five
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: and a half is a small spring.
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Something's up, Something's.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Up, all right, now, it's a real balloon game, you know.
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: Now we now we move to Sunday nine thirty another
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: international game. Where is this one taking place?
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: I assume London because Jacksonville is the team. Yeah, so
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: it's their secondary market.
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so four and two Rams at the
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: four and two Jaguars.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: Rams by three.
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: Ooh, yeah, that was a good game last week Jacksonville,
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: back and forth. But I think, you know, the Rams
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: on the road, I just I like them. I think
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: They're a good team. I'm gonna take the Rams.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: Saw some footage the Rams practiced at Camden Yards before
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: they went over. Yea, yeah, it's kind of weird.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Why were they doing that?
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: I don't know they played? Did they play Baltimore last week?
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: So they must have stayed in for a week and
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: then Yeah, rather than going all the way back to
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: La Rams both ways from Mike, yes please see Uh no, Pukakua,
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: I would assume.
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: Doesn't look like it.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Jacksonville.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: Good pick, Paul, Oh, sorry, you're right with me. Jaguars
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: win the game.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: You know it's tough for me to pick against Liam Cohen.
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: You're talking about Liam Cohen, Mike Vrabel and who's the
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: guy from Shane st Stane Stikeen is the front runners
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: for coach of the year.
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: Uh, you take the Jaguars one.
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: O'clock on Fox, the one in five Saints against the
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: three and two Bears, Chicago by four and a half.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: He's been right every single one.
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: I'm just saying, uh, Chicago saying she's been right, and
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: I was just saying the sheet has.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: Been right for three so far.
- 1:36:22Speaker 8: Good for you on spreads.
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: You know, I don't want to check myself, but it's
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: going really well so far. I'm going to take Chicago
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: at home. Seems like they're finding their stride a little bit.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: I will lay the points.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: It's a tough one.
- 1:36:33Speaker 8: Town.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: I think this is more of your would you call
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: it balloon game? Balloon? When I was a kid, I
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: called those the Victoria's secret catalog games.
- 1:36:45Speaker 8: You have the fashion shows yesterday.
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: I'm going to take Chicago as wumpings up.
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: What's that spread again?
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: Four and a half?
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: Four and a half?
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: Chicago, Chicago by four and a half, and it's at
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: Chicago torture.
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna well, I'm going to say the Saints
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: cover this game.
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna say they don't.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: They don't win, but I'm gonna hedge my bets and
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: I'm going to take those points.
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: That a hook.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: It's four and a half. But yeah, okay, I like
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: your pick, All right about it?
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: One o'clock on CBS, the one in five Dolphins are
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: at the one in five Browns.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: Boy Cleveland by two and a half. It's one of
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: Paul's games.
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: We were talking about looking ahead.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched Uh could use of that? I watched
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: that Cleveland game last week. Their defense really impressed me.
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: They are they are legit, not a lot of space
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: before we get after it. I'm going to take Cleveland
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: at home, and I will lay the points against.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: Tua, who I don't know. What he said exactly was
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: all kind of controversy like. So he said that, you know,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: we have to be more focused and more together. We
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: have people, you know, you know, some players not coming
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: to players only meetings, some players showing up late. What
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: he said on it's on the surface was not bad,
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: but kind of calling the whole team out for He's
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: letting everybody know that these things are happening. Those things
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: weren't known right right, So yeah, I guess he had
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: to apologize inmates and stuff. That's not good. Yeah, not winning.
- 1:38:17Speaker 6: I don't think they like him. I don't think his
- 1:38:20Speaker 6: teammates respect him. I'm gonna take Cleveland, squeeze.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: I am going to take Cleveland as well. But this game,
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: I could easily see Miami like putting a couple of
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: scoring drives together and Cleveland can't keep up. Yeah right, yeah,
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: but I'm going to take the Browns to make life
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: miserable on Tuur.
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: Browns win this game, folks, one o'clock, CBS two and
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: four Raiders at the three and three Chiefs. All the
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: wise guys think the Chiefs. This is there on the
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: way back.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: Now, Yeah, Kansas City by eleven and a half.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Eleven and see.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: What I mean, eleven and a half a lot shoot,
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: I mean, I'm definitely gonna ta Kansas City.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: That's just a lot of points.
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: Again, I'm blinded by Gino Smith's dominance of the Patriots
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: in recent years. I think he's way better than he
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: really is for some reason.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the points for Vegas. I just think
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: Division game they kind of hang around, make an interest.
- 1:39:19Speaker 8: I'm gonna do the same thing. I don't quite know why,
- 1:39:21Speaker 8: but yeah.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I'm gonna take Kansas City to win,
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: and I will take the points with Vegas. Division games,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: they're always seemed to be closer. I think Vegas beat
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: Kansas City in Kansas City, if not last year, maybe
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: the year before that. Jack Jones had a big pick six.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: I'll take I'll take the.
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: Points, folks. There's a reason why the Sharps are making
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: it eleven and a half. They know something, they know something.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: It should be closer because it is a division game
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: and these teams usually play each other tough.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: The fact that they made it's such a big spread,
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: you gotta go with the chiefs both ways. So there
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: you go, and that's what I'm gonna do.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: I wrote it down as such, Okay, one o'clock Fox,
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: four and two Eagles at the three and two Vikings.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Philly by one and a half.
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw Kevin O'Connor getting little annoyed with some
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: of the questions there. I'm not sure if McCarthy's gonna
- 1:40:17Speaker 4: go again, doesn't seem like it. So I'm gonna take
- 1:40:20Speaker 4: Philly in a tight one. I'll lay those points. But
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: that's I think that'd be a pretty.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Good taking the Carson Wentz revenge game.
- 1:40:29Speaker 8: Philly.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: Yes, if McCarthy was was back and ready to play,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: I would. I would take Minnesota at home, but I
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: don't have any faith in Wentz. I'll take Philly.
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Philly screwed me last week. I thought he's not
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: playing well.
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: I thought they'd come out as an angry team because
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: of the loss of the week before, and they lost again.
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: But I'm gonna stick with him for this week. But
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: I'm losing Faith in Philly.
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: P h A, I T I p A. I like that.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: That could be a T shirt.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: Yeah, like that faith in Philly Faith.
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: One o'clock on Fox, the three and three Panthers at
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: the oh and six.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: Jets Panthers by one and a half.
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: Do you believe the Panthers are three and three guys?
- 1:41:11Speaker 15: You know?
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: After the Patriots hair and only they found ric O'Donnell apparently.
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: It tells me a lot of bad teams in the league.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the bad they played them.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but I feel like there's just been Fred mentioned this,
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: I think on Tuesday about the parody. But there's a
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: lot of bad teams. Yeah, as opposed to really good ones.
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: There's no great teams.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: There's no great teams, really bad ones. There's a lot
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: of one win and there's only one no win team.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: But there's a lot of one win teams.
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we're playing one.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: Well, there are a lot of bad teams. I think
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: the Jets are one of the baddest. I'm going to
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: take the Panthers on the road, get it done.
- 1:41:47Speaker 8: I don't know why, but I feel like the Jets
- 1:41:49Speaker 8: at least have to win at some point.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: That's I know, I.
- 1:41:53Speaker 8: Know Carolina has been.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: I'm going to take the Jets and success a.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: You're gonna take the Jets. Okay, that's a good pick.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I really thought about taking the Jets because I've taken
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: them periodically because of that theory, like some point they're
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: going to win a game, but I just keep losing
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: every week. No, I'm gonna take Carolina and you'll.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: Lose this one.
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: No, but I'm gonna I'm gonna take the Panthers too.
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: I'm going to fall into that trap. I thought the
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: same thing Alex said. The Jets aren't going.
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: To go They're not going to go winless.
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but I Panthers playing some decent ball, all right.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: Now, we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: we go to four or five on CBS, the two
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: and four Giants at the four and two Broncos who.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Are shocked there playing at home, Broncos by seven. Seven.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: Yeah, that that that defense is legiet. I'm gonna take
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: Denver at home, and I just I think they got enough.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:42:56Speaker 8: Tempted me too, It is tempting, but.
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't really like Jackson Dart.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: So you don't like what isn't about them? You don't
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: like a lot of bandt. I'm going to take the
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: Broncos too, and I'll lay the points. I think the
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Giants have a little something going, but I think at
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Denver with that defense and a young quarterback, feels like
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: a reality check game. It feels like Denver will win
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: by two scores.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Ye two, folks, this is your cover loss lock of
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: the week.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: I don't know what that means.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: The Giants lose, but they cover, never win.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: The Giants cover.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: This is your this is your lot loss. Yeah, your
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: lost cover lost lock.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I would put that in the newsletter, Alex, so
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: I don't have to put out spread.
- 1:43:43Speaker 8: Definition of a cover lost lock.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: It's when the team that loses but they cover the spread.
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: The Giants don't lose by more than seven.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: The beauty of fred is the advanced terms, and that's
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: one of them. Lost lock of the week, all right,
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: you don't know you or no?
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: From Polo five on CBS, the five and one high
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: Flying Colts at the four and two Chargers.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Chargers by one and a half.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: O Wow, no respect to the Colts. Colts. Oh, they're
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: so mad about that.
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: They are this is a tough one for me. I
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: think this is a really balanced game. Danny Jones, MVP conversation, Paul.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: No Jonathan Taylor. Maybe, Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: Actually, I'm gonna go with the Chargers at home, and
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: I will lay the point in a half.
- 1:44:33Speaker 6: So Justin's girlfriend walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion show
- 1:44:36Speaker 6: last I think it's going to be a big week
- 1:44:39Speaker 6: for them, Madison as a unit, Madison Beer Chargers.
- 1:44:43Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: Might go the other way with that, like, did you
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: just know that it was girlfriend? Really smoke show? I'm
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: a little I'm a little impressed, Fred Wow.
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: The Chargers are a good team that I just think
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: is wrecked right now. I'm going to take Indy on
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: the road. If these teams are at anywhere near full strength,
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: I'd be taking the Chargers going away, but I just
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: don't think that's the case with Chargers.
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: I am going to go with the Chargers. But this
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: is just a want them to win pick.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to pull you into I like the
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: I kind of like the way the Chargers are set up,
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: but just with all that little running back is so cute.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm so cute.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: This isn't want um to win pick because you get
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: the I don't. I want the Patriots to be five
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: and two after this week. I don't want the Colts
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: to have a better record than the Patriots. So yeah,
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: Fox for twenty five, the three one and one Packers
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: are at the two and.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: Four Cardinals, packed by six and a half.
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: Don't don't, don't don't do, don't don go pack go
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: It's interesting.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: That's an interesting line to me.
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: Why Arnold?
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: Oh sorry, Arizona nevermind? Yeah, sorry, no, no favorite, No,
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: I was seeing Atlanta for some time.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: The quarterback, I apologize it.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Was he did not play last week. I believe he
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: is expected to play this week. Okay, but Brissette actually
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: put up some decent numbers last week. I know we
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: threw a bad pick.
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll take green Bay to win. I'm gonna take
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: the points, though I think green Bay.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Can kind of. Mike's gonna take stumble a little bit,
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: but still win. Cover, lost lock, cover, lost lock of
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: the week for Mike.
- 1:46:32Speaker 8: Green Bay, green Bay.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna do green Bay green Bay also. But
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: that's mostly because Arizona has been one of those teams
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: that whatever way I pick doesn't happen.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: I'll do Green Bay them right last week though, I'll
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: do the pack uh.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: Fo on Fox the three and three Commanders at the
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: two three and one Cowboys.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: This one, I would bury bury the old of this one.
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: I would say, uh, Washington by two and a half.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: Both offenses have been pretty good and the defenses have not.
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and I know they're banged up to you. I'm
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: gonna go with Washington by a hair. I'll lay the points, Stu.
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: That was That was just was Alex.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: That was my stomach reactor. Alex eats too clean to
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: have her stomach make pasta.
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: Today though, but it was important Italy so it was clean.
- 1:47:31Speaker 6: It's like not American pasta realm Uh.
- 1:47:37Speaker 8: I'm going to take Dallas.
- 1:47:38Speaker 6: I don't really know why, Like I keep waiting for
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: them to when this will probably be my last week
- 1:47:43Speaker 6: taking them.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: If they screw You're unnoticed Cowboys, Ye, Francisco, Young Alex
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: has you like, I'm going to take Washington, but I
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: I expect Alice to score some points in this game.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: I think it'll be high scoring, but Washington will have enough.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: You think I'm going to take the command as well,
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: So there eight twenty on NBC in Universo. And for
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: sure the three and two Falcons are at the four
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: and two forty nine Ersniners.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: By two and a half party plan.
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: It sounds like mac Jones is a little bit healthier
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: than him right now, which I guess mac Jones is
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: banged up to. That was the last update that I saw.
- 1:48:25Speaker 4: Atlanta's been a little bit hard to pin down this year.
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: I'm going to take Atlanta with the road upset of
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: the Niners. Also, you know they lost their their linebacker
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: there in San Francisco as well.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: Fred Warner, Fred Warner, Yeah, two and a half San Francisco.
- 1:48:46Speaker 8: Okay, Mac Jones in prime time.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: You're taking the forty nine ers. Yeah, okay, all right.
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: You believe.
- 1:48:53Speaker 8: I don't know why he still believes.
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to take San Francisco too, mostly because
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: Atlanta's I think DNA is losing this game. Big Monday
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: night win, yeah last week. Now you're going national TV again. Sure,
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: I think Atlanta is better than San Francisco, but they
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: don't show it. Yeah, So I'm going to take the Niners.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: I'm going to take the Falcons to beat the forty
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: nine ers.
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: I think they might have a little bit of hope.
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: You're mojo going, Jean? All right, now these Monday night
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: double header? Is this the thing?
- 1:49:25Speaker 8: Now?
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: Everyone love it?
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: Is it going to be a double header?
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: If I don't love this one?
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: This is I like Fred's doubleheader of like seven fifteen,
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: eight to fifteen. This is seven and ten.
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: I don't think Yeah, seven o'clock, ten, no ten o'clock.
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but who cares about it. I won't watch one
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: play of that game.
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: No, right, the seven o'clock affair is ESPN, ABC, ESPN Deportes.
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: It's the five and one Buccaneers and the four and
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: two Lions.
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: Could be a good game, Detroit by five and a half.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: The decimated defense against the decimated offense.
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm going to go with I'm gonna go
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: with the I'm gonna go du twy at home. But
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: I got to give Baker some some love. I'm gonna
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: take the points for Tampa. I think it's a closer one.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: Same, Yeah, I'm going to take Tampa to win outright, Wow, because.
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: All of a sudden he likes Baker.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: No, it's more about what Detroit is missing, and I
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: think that's what Baker Mayfield has been doing is finding
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: his targets, and I know they're all hurt, but some
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: of them will be I think Abouka will be out
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: this game, but Evans might be back. Did you see
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: the story about the tes Johnson kid. That was hilarious. Yeah,
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: that was absolutely hilarious. Did you know this friend? So
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: he's a you know, small like the seventh round pick.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: He's a absolute speed demon out of Oregon. Tiny. He
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: catches a bomb for a touchdown last week and the
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: crowd's chanting m VP for Baker Mayfield. He thought it
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: was He thought it was fair, and he looks at
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: he goes, I ain't done nothing all year. Why are
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: they chanting throwing shepherd?
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: Or No?
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: What's what's that it was? I think it was a shepherd.
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: He thought it was so funny. He just went around
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: everybody telling the story.
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: He did a nice backflip in the end zone.
- 1:51:07Speaker 6: But Tampa Bay content team had the camera on them too,
- 1:51:10Speaker 6: on the bench, so they got them interactions.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Great, I'll take the bucks to pull off the upset.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: Yeah, my instinct, my gut, says lions.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: I'll stick with my gut because it's substantial, So I
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: will go with the lines. Although the Lions have come
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: up short a lot this year. They're not as good
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: as people thought they were going to be.
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: Okay, they lost that Green Bay in that Kansas City. Yep,
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: ten o'clock, they've blown doors off everybody else.
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: You want to be the best, you got to beat
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: the best, Paul, Yeah, right.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: You can't be losing at all. Can't be losing to
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: the teams you're going to have to.
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: Beat ten o'clock, ESPN, ESPN Fortes. The two and three
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: Texans are at the four and two Seahawks Seahawks by three.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: This seems like a light spread for me.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: Seattle got it going on.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: Yeah they do.
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Seattle. I'm gonna play the points. I
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: don't have to think that much about it.
- 1:52:09Speaker 8: Yep, Seahawks, Seahawks.
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: I will take Houston.
- 1:52:15Speaker 7: WHOA.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: I'm a big believer in their defense, and I think
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: that they make life tough on Sam Darnold. But talk
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: about another sort of under the radar MVP candidate Jackson
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Smith and Jig But it's been unbelievable all year, So
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: that worries my upset. Pick I worry about JSN. But
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: off for a week. I really like that defense, and
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: that's why I'm mired, and.
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: I'm gonna go.
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the Seahawks, but I'm gonna get
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: getting a little annoyed.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know. All right, Back to
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: one o'clock. Can I get a paper rattle? Yeah? Thank you.
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: Back to one o'clock on the CBS, the four and
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: two Patriots at the one in five Titans.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Patriots by seven.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: Seven, seven, Yeah, I got I got the Patriots in
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: this one. I think get to a big lead, don't
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: look back. Maybe shut it down in the second half.
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: Run the ball a little bit.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: Take the Patriots twenty seven to.
- 1:53:19Speaker 6: Six, twenty seven thirteen, that's ridiculous.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Twenty seven to nine. No, you are turning to pick
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: twenty seven twenty seven? You said twenty seven to nine? Yeah, okay,
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: three point three field goals? Three field goals, Joey slide,
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: so pretty sly for a slide.
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: The way we've been talking, in the way everybody's been talking.
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: Don't you think this spread should be even more?
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: I don't wow. I think a touchdown favor on the
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: road is significant.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Because it's really ten yeah, exactly at four points your theory, yes, team,
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: but somehow that didn't hold true for the Pittsburgh Cincinnati game.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: So I don't know why I think anymore.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm thinking I was thinking, okay, it's seven
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: because you know, they're trying to get more New England
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: money on this. But like I would think, everybody in
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: New England is ready to running to the window, you know,
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: the window being the betting win.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: The line moved the running neither has it moved to
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: the line.
- 1:54:23Speaker 8: Move like I feel like when we did the show Monday, it.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: Was seven when we did the show.
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: So that means to me that money's pretty even, Is
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: that right? I don't know, not sure. I'm I'm gonna
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: go with the Patriots both ways, but there's something up here,
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: something up but I will go with the Patriots to
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: beat the spread here the spread being seven.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: All right, all right, well we'll see what happens. We'll
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: get Evans picks post mortem.
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: Yeah, make sure he puts them in before the Thursday
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: night came as well?
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: Has he is he trying to know?
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: He's sends them to me, don't do not call in
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: to question the integrity of the picks, and he discrepancies
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: in the picks and the tabulations of the record are
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: purely the result of me being a moron and miscounted you.
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: From Guatemala and you just didn't see it, but acknowledge
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: the picture correct.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: It's user error, not anything in soiety.
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: All right, Well, I just think he doesn't hear me.
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: And now let's give our detailed insight.
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: It was one week disclosure. There was one week that
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: Evan picked something and he said that's what I would
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: have picked. It was after the fact, and I let
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: him get away with it because it was the San
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: Francisco game.
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: I believe because somebody was hurt.
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: No, he hadn't given me any picks. And the next
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: day he said, I would you know I would have
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: taken my boy shan An. I was like, you probably
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: would have, So I gave him credit for a win. Okay,
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: So that's it for this show.
