- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Maggic nine. It's Magic ninety
- 0:06Speaker 1: four nine, no filter. I don't know. I'm working on
- 0:08Speaker 1: the things with this.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It's probably gonna change, but it's Scottie and Abby Hello.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And what we're doing is just talking a little bit
- 0:15Speaker 2: more in depth on maybe some of the things that
- 0:17Speaker 2: we cover in the show or on social media, to
- 0:19Speaker 2: give you a little bit more context. Because what's special
- 0:22Speaker 2: about this platform is that we could talk about things
- 0:25Speaker 2: that maybe right now can't be talked about on air.
- 0:28Speaker 2: And there's definitely some subjects in general that will never
- 0:30Speaker 2: be able to be talked on air, just with the
- 0:32Speaker 2: nature of radio.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Chapel rounds nipples exactly. Like the first note I got
- 0:38Speaker 3: from Scotty, like, my first hey, don't say that on
- 0:40Speaker 3: air was yet you said nipples four times.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We're flagged.
- 0:44Speaker 3: We're gonna need to pull back, and I'm like, it's
- 0:46Speaker 3: just anatomy. It's like seeing elbow or wenus you part
- 0:50Speaker 3: of your anatomy, I know.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And that's the weird part about radio, because when we're
- 0:54Speaker 2: doing the actual show live, there are certain things that
- 0:58Speaker 2: you want to make sure you don't say to shock
- 1:01Speaker 2: the listener, and on Magic ninety four nine. I always
- 1:03Speaker 2: think of, Okay, if somebody's in the car with their
- 1:06Speaker 2: kids and they're going to school, how could I say
- 1:09Speaker 2: something that the parents understand? But for the kids, they
- 1:13Speaker 2: just it goes right over their head. They're just happy
- 1:14Speaker 2: to hear us on the radio.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So we used to do that too. We would relate
- 1:18Speaker 3: intimacy with playing piano and so, like, I'm good at
- 1:21Speaker 3: innu windows. But I was legitimately thinking, like, I don't
- 1:24Speaker 3: know that I have a good replacement word for nipple.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean? Like, if you were
- 1:29Speaker 3: going to come up with a replacement word for nipple,
- 1:31Speaker 3: what is appropriate?
- 1:32Speaker 1: There's not one? I know.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I think I said chest today, I'm like she had
- 1:36Speaker 3: her chest pierced, and.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I think that kind of gives enough context where you're like, Okay,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I get what you're saying. Which that's how I would
- 1:43Speaker 2: probably approach it on the air. I don't think it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: something that always needs to be like that. But I
- 1:47Speaker 2: definitely have said things on this station that I have
- 1:51Speaker 2: had pushback from and I'm like, oh, I didn't know,
- 1:54Speaker 2: because before I was on Magic ninety four nine, I
- 1:56Speaker 2: was on a like a top forty station, and you
- 1:58Speaker 2: could say more because it's not as shocking. It's almost expected.
- 2:03Speaker 2: And wasn't that what like the show you were on
- 2:05Speaker 2: before this?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but there were things that, like I forgot about
- 2:09Speaker 3: radio rules because there's certain words you're actually not allowed
- 2:12Speaker 3: to say on this yes, and you're just supposed to
- 2:14Speaker 3: know them, but nobody gives you a list, Like if
- 2:16Speaker 3: you google the list words you're not allowed to say
- 2:18Speaker 3: on the radio, there's not a list, so you kind
- 2:20Speaker 3: of have to find out the hard way. And so
- 2:22Speaker 3: I remember there was one week where I said, how
- 2:25Speaker 3: on filter can we be on here?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Can I be unfiltered?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, we'll find out. This is literally like
- 2:31Speaker 2: unwrapping a new present. We are discovering the gift together.
- 2:34Speaker 2: And so anything that happens here, if all of a sudden,
- 2:36Speaker 2: it just cuts out that when we got told it
- 2:37Speaker 2: was not allowed.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So I'm going to say a word so on. There
- 2:40Speaker 3: was like one week where I just kept saying the
- 2:42Speaker 3: word dick over and over again.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But I wasn't in what context. I wasn't using it
- 2:48Speaker 3: in the context of like somebody's peepe I was saying, like,
- 2:52Speaker 3: oh I he was being such a dick and they
- 2:54Speaker 3: were like, Abby, you can't say that.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And I'm like, You're like, why not I say that
- 2:57Speaker 1: with my friends?
- 2:58Speaker 3: I was like, where's the list? Someone show me the list.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And then there's some convoluted rules like you're allowed to
- 3:03Speaker 3: say ass but you can't say asshole. Yes, so we
- 3:07Speaker 3: would always have to say a whole or ask whole
- 3:11Speaker 3: that one's pushing it, that one really is pushing it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I would not be putting that one out there because
- 3:15Speaker 2: I know I would get in trouble because somebody, here's
- 3:17Speaker 2: what I don't want to do. I would never want
- 3:18Speaker 2: to like have a DM that's like somebody's like, I, well,
- 3:21Speaker 2: I've had it before, but it's like I can't believe
- 3:23Speaker 2: you said that. We were listening and you put this
- 3:26Speaker 2: out there, and I'm like, I've had to explain back
- 3:28Speaker 2: in the day, like look, that is not what I meant.
- 3:31Speaker 2: This is actually what you heard. Because sometimes people are
- 3:33Speaker 2: listening very often I do this too of them in
- 3:36Speaker 2: the car, like this kind of secondhand listening. You're looking
- 3:39Speaker 2: at a tree or a bird or talking to your
- 3:41Speaker 2: kids in the back and you hear something on the radio.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But sometimes you don't hear exactly what they say. But
- 3:45Speaker 2: I've had people like think they knew what I said,
- 3:47Speaker 2: and they're.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Like, I can't believe you. And I'm like, what what
- 3:52Speaker 1: did I do?
- 3:52Speaker 3: And they're like, you said that.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I have to pull the audio and i'll send it
- 3:57Speaker 2: to him. I really didn't say that, and they're like,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I've did that, you weren't. It's okay, you didn't hear
- 4:02Speaker 2: it properly, but also I'm sorry.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Agree to disagree.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, I know that got close to it.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I think the only time I've ever gotten believed. So
- 4:09Speaker 2: every now and then there's a radio station, there's a
- 4:11Speaker 2: dump button in the station. We actually don't want to
- 4:13Speaker 2: have one here yet in Magic ninety four nine, but
- 4:16Speaker 2: in the old station I worked on, we had a
- 4:17Speaker 2: dump button.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That's like, if the radio.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Station is like fifteen seconds ahead from what you're hearing
- 4:22Speaker 2: in your car, and just in case anybody gets on
- 4:25Speaker 2: the phone and they say something inappropriate, you could dump it.
- 4:27Speaker 2: It'll just delete the last fifteen seconds. And when I
- 4:29Speaker 2: was a producer, I didn't know. I was just you know,
- 4:31Speaker 2: we were vibing. It was hot, and I said, oh
- 4:33Speaker 2: my gosh, and again parent warning, it's not even that bad.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But I said, ah, I'm sweating on my titties.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Oh, I forgot. You can't say titties either.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I didn't know. I just I hadn't.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I was just in the in the conversation, it was
- 4:47Speaker 2: just so free flowing.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But again, there's no list. There is no list, and
- 4:50Speaker 3: titties object like, titties is one of my favorite words.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I used to say this all the time, Like when
- 4:56Speaker 3: my boss retired, I was like, please, like, before we
- 4:58Speaker 3: go out the air.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Can I please say titties on air?
- 5:00Speaker 3: It's such a fun word. But there's no list that
- 5:02Speaker 3: says you can't say titties.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And that's why I was so confused. I felt so embarrassed.
- 5:05Speaker 2: But also I was so confused because I was like,
- 5:07Speaker 2: what's wrong with that? And it was just one of
- 5:09Speaker 2: those things of you wouldn't want to say it in
- 5:12Speaker 2: front of a family because now, who knows, the kid
- 5:15Speaker 2: might be repeating it in the classroom. And I felt
- 5:17Speaker 2: so dumb. But I was like, dang, I didn't know that.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I knew, of course, cuss words, but titties.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Titties is like it's so inoffensive and it's so fine,
- 5:26Speaker 3: and isn't it like a northern thing.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Don't you say, like this is tits? Is that a thing?
- 5:30Speaker 2: No?
- 5:30Speaker 3: I thought that was like a British thing, like you're
- 5:32Speaker 3: the tits.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Oh, I thought it was just up in like Boston.
- 5:35Speaker 1: They're like, ah, this is tits.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Who has said that ever?
- 5:39Speaker 1: I think I've seen it on the movie.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Yeah, sure, I saw that movie too.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Okay, well, those are the things I've obviously gotten in
- 5:46Speaker 2: trouble for.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I loved Goodwill Hunting.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:50Speaker 3: When Ben Affleck says that it really makes.
- 5:52Speaker 2: That scene, it really does. He really gets really deep
- 5:54Speaker 2: when he says, this is the tits. I love the
- 5:57Speaker 2: scene really bring home that poetry with the tits.
- 5:59Speaker 3: And then and when Matt Damon goes, yeah, not only
- 6:02Speaker 3: is this the tits, this is titty delicious.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna be so curious if we're able to actually
- 6:08Speaker 2: put this episode out.
- 6:09Speaker 1: This is a whole new experiment.
- 6:11Speaker 2: But but the whole point of this is to start to
- 6:13Speaker 2: get to know whether you have followed along because you
- 6:16Speaker 2: followed Abby's story for this long and you're just like,
- 6:18Speaker 2: I cannot wait to see everything she does here in
- 6:20Speaker 2: Tampa Bay, or maybe you followed me and you're like
- 6:23Speaker 2: oh wait.
- 6:24Speaker 1: This is a whole new evolution of a.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Show that is so exciting because we've gotten to now
- 6:28Speaker 2: step into the new world of what The Morning Show
- 6:31Speaker 2: and Magic ninety four nine will be like. And so
- 6:33Speaker 2: to pull the curtain back yesterday, we got to do
- 6:35Speaker 2: a lot of cool things like checking out the different
- 6:37Speaker 2: areas in Tampa Bay. We're doing a little pro movid
- 6:41Speaker 2: that at this point you've probably already seen up on
- 6:44Speaker 2: Instagram or Facebook or TikTok. So we went and checked
- 6:47Speaker 2: out the Flamingo, which you said, you've never seen Phoebe
- 6:51Speaker 2: before that moment at TPA.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 6:53Speaker 4: I have never seen Phoebe in the flesh.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Now what are your first impressions, Because I'll be honest,
- 6:57Speaker 2: but Phoebe is an icon in this Tampa Bay community,
- 7:01Speaker 2: and it was very controversial when they put up that
- 7:03Speaker 2: Flamingo because everyone had a vote on the name, and
- 7:06Speaker 2: so there's a lot of people that still don't even
- 7:08Speaker 2: accept the name Phoebe. They think it should have been
- 7:11Speaker 2: named Kevin, like Kevin that was just one of the
- 7:14Speaker 2: names that people put it in there, like this would
- 7:16Speaker 2: be perfect a Kevin, But Phoebe took off and so
- 7:19Speaker 2: What were your impressions about the first time seeing Was
- 7:21Speaker 2: it overwhelming? Was it underwhelming? Did it not make sense?
- 7:25Speaker 4: Well? Truly, her presence brought me to my knees.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I was beautiful.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I walked in and I said, this, this is her,
- 7:32Speaker 3: this is home. You know when you see those videos
- 7:34Speaker 3: of dizzy adults and they stay the castle for the
- 7:36Speaker 3: first time and they're like, oh my god, that's it.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That's how I felt.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I was like, oh my god, phoebe there she is.
- 7:41Speaker 4: We do need to work on her skincare regime.
- 7:42Speaker 1: What's wrong with her skin?
- 7:43Speaker 3: Little bumpy, she's a flamingo.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Well, you know, she needs a little bit of retinal.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Little face cream, a little night cream. I have this
- 7:51Speaker 2: like I think it's a dark spot corrector in my car.
- 7:53Speaker 3: She needs a couple of those.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I got that from a woman at CVS, though, and
- 7:57Speaker 2: I think it was is that like a now that
- 7:59Speaker 2: I'm thinking about, is that a diss What she gave me,
- 8:02Speaker 2: She like literally gave.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Me a sample.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I had to go in there and get like, Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 2: first off, I do the show on Fox thirteen called
- 8:09Speaker 2: Florida for Real, and so it's like we're filming it
- 8:11Speaker 2: in the TV studio and the lights are very bright,
- 8:13Speaker 2: so my natural shine really shines. Boys got some oily skin. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 2: And so they're like, you need to go pick up
- 8:18Speaker 2: like a little powder. I have no idea where you
- 8:21Speaker 2: get powder. I don't know how makeup works. But I
- 8:24Speaker 2: go in and I start talking to this sweet woman
- 8:26Speaker 2: who's like telling me all the different ones I could get,
- 8:29Speaker 2: and then we're just chit chat and she's like, and
- 8:30Speaker 2: by the way.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Here's this and it's a dark spot corrector. And now
- 8:36Speaker 1: that I'm thinking.
- 8:36Speaker 2: About it, is that a diss Is she looking out
- 8:41Speaker 2: or what she's seeing something in me that I didn't
- 8:42Speaker 2: see in myself.
- 8:43Speaker 3: She might just be she might have samples that she's
- 8:46Speaker 3: just been giving out all week. Like it's a thing
- 8:48Speaker 3: like land Com or whatever, dropped it off at Sephora
- 8:52Speaker 3: and to treat you. They're giving it out so that
- 8:55Speaker 3: you try it and want to buy it.
- 8:56Speaker 2: So I shouldn't get offunded by have dark spot. What
- 8:59Speaker 2: I don't even understand what the dark spot is is
- 9:01Speaker 2: like a freckle.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe she saw your aura and she's like, this
- 9:05Speaker 3: guy needs a little more energy.
- 9:07Speaker 1: This guy definitely needs a little more dark spots. In
- 9:09Speaker 1: his life.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Yeah, let's correct the darkness happening in his life. Let's
- 9:13Speaker 3: get rid of it.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Well, I guess that's what I need to bring now
- 9:16Speaker 2: to Phoebe. But you were okay, was it everything you've
- 9:18Speaker 2: ever imagined when you saw that flamingo?
- 9:20Speaker 3: Everything and more? Actually, she does, like I said, need
- 9:24Speaker 3: need a skincare.
- 9:26Speaker 4: But she was there and.
- 9:27Speaker 3: People, I mean, she's like a celebrity that people were
- 9:29Speaker 3: crowding around her. I thought they were there to see me.
- 9:31Speaker 3: They're like taking out their phone.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It's like, oh my god, Abby's in town. I know
- 9:34Speaker 1: she had this reveal. What were some of them when
- 9:37Speaker 1: you saw her?
- 9:37Speaker 2: Obviously that's like now you're gonna have to when you
- 9:39Speaker 2: go to the airport. Every time you go. You're supposed
- 9:41Speaker 2: to say hello, you're supposed to wave, you're supposed to
- 9:43Speaker 2: take a picture. It's a moment. But the reason we
- 9:47Speaker 2: were there is because we started to do these little
- 9:49Speaker 2: like you've done a beautiful job of like teasing, and
- 9:53Speaker 2: especially if you've been watching Abby's Instagram of how she
- 9:56Speaker 2: has teased where she's going, what she's doing in this
- 10:00Speaker 2: next chapter of this career. What have been some of
- 10:03Speaker 2: the reactions to the pictures, like could you tell us, like,
- 10:06Speaker 2: what are some of the things that you put up
- 10:07Speaker 2: as the teas?
- 10:08Speaker 1: What was the thought process and the tees?
- 10:10Speaker 2: Did anybody understand it? Were people confuse? Like what has
- 10:13Speaker 2: the reaction been?
- 10:14Speaker 3: Yeah? So I started out putting emojis in the thought
- 10:17Speaker 3: the thought bubble on my Instagram, thinking, oh, only people
- 10:20Speaker 3: that go to my bio or are really.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Not obsessive is the wrong word.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But like really dedicated and interested followers interesting intrigued only, yes,
- 10:32Speaker 3: only if the people who are truly intrigued are going
- 10:34Speaker 3: to see this. And then when I first started putting
- 10:35Speaker 3: them up, a lot of people started noticing them. And
- 10:37Speaker 3: the first one I put up was like a Sunshine,
- 10:39Speaker 3: which I thought, like, mke go unnoticed because it was
- 10:42Speaker 3: like sunny and at.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Lanta that day.
- 10:43Speaker 1: It's just a sunshine day.
- 10:44Speaker 3: And then I did a Flamingo, and then I think
- 10:46Speaker 3: some people started to catch on because I always saw
- 10:48Speaker 3: the sun, so you must be moving to Florida or something.
- 10:50Speaker 3: And then I started doing songs that had some kind
- 10:54Speaker 3: of overarching theme of Tampa, whether the artist is from Tampa.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Maybe the song foods to Florida in some way I
- 11:02Speaker 3: was just I was just like, I want to do
- 11:04Speaker 3: things that if you're keeping track, if you're keeping score
- 11:06Speaker 3: at home, you're gonna get it.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 3: But if you're just randomly seeing me put a Doughci
- 11:11Speaker 3: song out, you're not gonna be like, oh yeah, Abby's
- 11:13Speaker 3: referencing Tampa.
- 11:14Speaker 2: But it's so genius though, because if you start to
- 11:16Speaker 2: follow the puzzle pieces, it's like, I don't know if
- 11:18Speaker 2: anybody's sitting at home like writing notes of like, oh,
- 11:20Speaker 2: today's she put a sunshine, then yesterday put Doci that
- 11:25Speaker 2: must have been Docy's from Tampa, Like Barry, I talk
- 11:27Speaker 2: to friends all the time and they're like, I'll tell them, oh, yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 2: Dochi's right to hear from our backyard Tampa Bay And
- 11:34Speaker 2: they're like, who I'm like Doci. They're like, oh yeah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: no Doci. I'm like, yeah, she's from Tampa. So like
- 11:39Speaker 2: people are just we're so in the now that for
- 11:42Speaker 2: like the general public, they're like, I had no idea.
- 11:45Speaker 3: That's what I mean is I think if you actually
- 11:47Speaker 3: care that it's sort of like me telling you ahead
- 11:49Speaker 3: of time. Like if you're somebody who's actually keeping track
- 11:51Speaker 3: and you want to listen to our show once I
- 11:53Speaker 3: get here, you're gonna figure it out, and so you're
- 11:55Speaker 3: gonna get get blessed with that information. Whereas if you're
- 11:58Speaker 3: just like a casual follower, you're gonna see the up
- 12:00Speaker 3: close of Phoebe's eye and go, what the hell is that?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Like, what is wrong with her instant story? Is she
- 12:06Speaker 2: messing up? Did shed drop her phone and accidentally take
- 12:08Speaker 2: a picture? Because that's kind of what it looked like.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but I waited to do that kind of thing
- 12:11Speaker 3: towards the end where people were really paying attention of
- 12:14Speaker 3: where I am at, because if I had done it
- 12:16Speaker 3: three weeks ago, people would have thought it was a mistake.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Whereas they know I'm here, they know an announcement's coming
- 12:21Speaker 3: Thursday or you know whenever this is, the announcement is
- 12:24Speaker 3: coming Thursday as specified. Yes, so they're paying more attention,
- 12:29Speaker 3: and so the I from Phoebe didn't make a lot
- 12:31Speaker 3: of sense to people. And then finally I posted an
- 12:33Speaker 3: up close of Phoebe's bumpy as skin, and there were
- 12:38Speaker 3: some people that know who Phoebe is, say in Tampa,
- 12:41Speaker 3: and so that was kind of my way of telling
- 12:43Speaker 3: people who live in Tampa, Hey, get ready, you're about to.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Get a new morning show.
- 12:46Speaker 1: That's exactly right.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But if you're not in Tampa, you have no idea.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It's very confusing, very confusing, like what's this pink foot? Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 1: it doesn't make any sense exactly.
- 12:54Speaker 3: But then if you're really again invested, I'm sure somebody
- 12:57Speaker 3: posted it on Reddit or we have a Facebook page
- 12:59Speaker 3: from the former show I was on. And so again,
- 13:01Speaker 3: if you're really invested, someone's going to go that's in Tampa.
- 13:04Speaker 3: And then it's kind of like me telling you ahead
- 13:05Speaker 3: of time. Yeah, but you still don't know yet until
- 13:08Speaker 3: I announce, but you'll you'll want to know if you're
- 13:10Speaker 3: getting confirmed on Thursday.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Now, do you have more fun teasing or are you
- 13:13Speaker 2: gonna be excited to just finally announce it?
- 13:15Speaker 3: I was would say like, I'm kind of having a
- 13:16Speaker 3: lot of fun teasing, but I do think I've sort
- 13:18Speaker 3: of exhausted people's patients. Yeah, I'm such a people pleaser
- 13:21Speaker 3: that every time I post an eastrike, I feel kind
- 13:24Speaker 3: of bad about it.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like there's a delicate balance between when do
- 13:28Speaker 2: you start the teas and how long do you carry
- 13:30Speaker 2: someone through because in this day of age, our attention
- 13:33Speaker 2: span is horrible. Like if there's a show, Oh, this
- 13:37Speaker 2: happens so many times where you love a good show
- 13:39Speaker 2: on Netflix and then they're like, all right, new season
- 13:41Speaker 2: coming out three years from now.
- 13:44Speaker 1: That's it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: That's why I didn't watch the new avatars. I loved
- 13:47Speaker 2: the first one, and then they took what eleven years
- 13:51Speaker 2: to come out with a new one. I was like,
- 13:52Speaker 2: all right, I'm good, I've moved on. How long has it?
- 13:55Speaker 1: When did you starting this? It's been two weeks a week.
- 13:57Speaker 1: What has it been.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I think I started teasing when I signed my paperwork,
- 14:00Speaker 3: which would have been maybe three three weeks ago.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Oh nice, okay, so just like subtle.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Things, yeah, subtle things. I started with the emojis. I
- 14:06Speaker 3: started with like a sunshine again, a palm tree. I
- 14:09Speaker 3: think I did a dolphin at one point. It was
- 14:11Speaker 3: really aggressively obvious when I think I put a pirate flag.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know how many other places in
- 14:17Speaker 2: the country just represent a pirate flag in the random
- 14:20Speaker 2: January month, maybe like the Raiders.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Maybe are they still in Vegas like people throughout Vegas?
- 14:27Speaker 2: So a bad guess what I okay, if we were
- 14:30Speaker 2: to look at like a percentage, how many people, you
- 14:32Speaker 2: think have guessed it properly that you're coming to Sampa Bay.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Not a lot. Actually the top runner is Nashville right now,
- 14:38Speaker 3: because I posted about Taylor Swift, and so I think
- 14:39Speaker 3: people saw that one photo instead of Doughchi, Aaron Carter,
- 14:44Speaker 3: Tom Cruise, like all these things I piece up. Other
- 14:46Speaker 3: people they saw they saw the one Tailor Swift thing,
- 14:48Speaker 3: and they're like, Nashville, that's it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Well, you also did put up a picture of your boots.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yes, did I post my boots?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Oh?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, my boots, So they thought like, oh country. The
- 15:00Speaker 3: The other thing that got a lot of traction was
- 15:01Speaker 3: I did an up close photo of the Magic ninety
- 15:03Speaker 3: four to nine logoaking yellow, but people thought it was
- 15:06Speaker 3: maroon and yellow. Yes, So then a lot of people
- 15:08Speaker 3: started throwing out the Commanders or New Mexico or Arizona
- 15:13Speaker 3: things that have those colors in the flag. I'm like,
- 15:15Speaker 3: it's not a flag, it's not bad, it's the logo.
- 15:19Speaker 2: But I do give people credit for a lot of
- 15:20Speaker 2: their creative guesses. Especially what's interesting is because when we
- 15:24Speaker 2: were talking about it, all the different places that people
- 15:26Speaker 2: put out there, I'm like, that's fascinating that you would
- 15:29Speaker 2: put either this together that I'm going to Vegas or
- 15:32Speaker 2: this means that I'm going to Nashville, or this means
- 15:33Speaker 2: I'm moving out of the country. Then somebody had that
- 15:36Speaker 2: you were going out of the Country's a right.
- 15:38Speaker 3: A couple people said Spain because I think they thought
- 15:40Speaker 3: it was an up close of the Spain.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Flag that would be amazing.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But that's how I know. Like, it's interesting because some
- 15:47Speaker 3: people are really invested, like some people like, where's your
- 15:49Speaker 3: substack this week? And then other people are casual followers
- 15:51Speaker 3: to where they didn't see me post a couple of
- 15:54Speaker 3: days ago that I was driving ten hours. So a
- 15:56Speaker 3: lot of people have been trying to do the math.
- 15:57Speaker 3: They're like, Okay, she said she was driving ten ho
- 16:00Speaker 3: so what's ten hours from Atlanta?
- 16:01Speaker 1: Ten hours? You took a bad route?
- 16:04Speaker 3: Well, I was gonna The thing is, I said that
- 16:06Speaker 3: I was gonna stop in Jacksonville. Oh no, So Jacksonville
- 16:11Speaker 3: would have been like seven hours, and then Jacksonville Tampa
- 16:14Speaker 3: would have been like three ish hours. So I said
- 16:16Speaker 3: ten plus hours. I'm like, it could have been anywhere
- 16:17Speaker 3: between ten and one hundred hours.
- 16:18Speaker 1: That's true.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I mean the range is there I'm trying to think,
- 16:21Speaker 2: where would you go ten hours from Atlanta?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Would that be Nashville? That makes sense?
- 16:24Speaker 3: No, it was Chicago. Oh my gosh, Chicago's ten hours,
- 16:27Speaker 3: But not a lot of people are saying Chicago.
- 16:29Speaker 2: That actually seems Why does it seem so much Further,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I thought, yeah, like, if I have picture of map
- 16:34Speaker 2: am I Atlanta, Chicago is it? I guess because Atlanta
- 16:37Speaker 2: is actually way up into Georgia. It really is pretty
- 16:39Speaker 2: much outside of it at that point.
- 16:40Speaker 3: I know in Nashville's four hours. So I'm surprised that
- 16:43Speaker 3: Nashville's getting as many guesses as it is right now
- 16:47Speaker 3: before it's been announced, because I'm like, Nashville is really
- 16:49Speaker 3: close to Atlanta, and I wouldn't have said ten hours
- 16:51Speaker 3: if it was Nashville. And then the other ones that
- 16:53Speaker 3: I'm getting a lot of recently are Dallas. Yeah yehaws right,
- 16:58Speaker 3: And I'm surprised because Dallas it wasn't a city that
- 17:00Speaker 3: I interviewed with, and the ones that the cities that
- 17:05Speaker 3: I actually interviewed with, like, they're the ones getting guessed
- 17:07Speaker 3: the least interesting.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Did you tell people where you're interviewing?
- 17:10Speaker 3: No, But I thought I was kind of obvious. I
- 17:12Speaker 3: thought people were gonna catch on really really quickly, because
- 17:14Speaker 3: right after the show ended, I flew to Tampa, uh
- 17:18Speaker 3: and then I flew to New York in Austin in December,
- 17:22Speaker 3: and so I thought people really were going to like
- 17:24Speaker 3: catch on that, like, those were the three cities I
- 17:26Speaker 3: was interviewing with, and nobody those are like the three
- 17:30Speaker 3: getting guessed the least. A lot of people were saying
- 17:32Speaker 3: New York because I like posted a lot of photos
- 17:34Speaker 3: in New York.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Really no one said Austin. And Austin was another city.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I was talking to a what a fun city? In general?
- 17:41Speaker 2: I get what's cool is you actually did look at
- 17:43Speaker 2: really cool cities. Yes, like everywhere that you looked at,
- 17:45Speaker 2: it's like that would be exciting, that would be bright,
- 17:47Speaker 2: that would be fun. The only one that would be
- 17:50Speaker 2: extremely hard, I feel like, would be New York just
- 17:52Speaker 2: because I'm just the cold would literally kill me.
- 17:55Speaker 4: It would be the worst time to move to New
- 17:56Speaker 4: York right now.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Absolutely, can you imagine moving in this weather because it's
- 17:59Speaker 3: like I remember I was seeing somebody visiting there like
- 18:02Speaker 3: a week or two ago, and it's just like piles
- 18:04Speaker 3: and piles of snow.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, I don't know how people
- 18:07Speaker 2: function in it where it's like every day you have
- 18:10Speaker 2: to put on what twelve layers, shovel a driveway, preheat
- 18:14Speaker 2: your car, Like it just seems wow, how lazy do
- 18:17Speaker 2: I sound?
- 18:17Speaker 1: That just seems so exhausting.
- 18:19Speaker 3: So exhausting, whereas we can we.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Just have to put on a coat, that's it, put
- 18:23Speaker 2: on a hoodie for the most part, and if it's
- 18:25Speaker 2: really that cold, it's like, okay, I could put on
- 18:26Speaker 2: a long sleep for a second, because then the next
- 18:28Speaker 2: thing you know, you're gonna be inside again and it's
- 18:30Speaker 2: only gonna last. Like this is kind of funny because
- 18:32Speaker 2: since you've been here, it has been cold and it
- 18:34Speaker 2: hasn't been breezy. But in like a week, it's going
- 18:37Speaker 2: to be back to just normal seventy degrees and it's
- 18:39Speaker 2: gonna be amazing.
- 18:40Speaker 3: It's gonna be perfect weather.
- 18:41Speaker 4: It's gonna be gorgeous.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Jill is gonna come around and be like, oh my god,
- 18:44Speaker 3: get me to New York.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that part is Vancouver. Put me in a literal
- 18:48Speaker 2: pile of snow.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Please.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Now I know you're tailing us off the air. About
- 18:53Speaker 2: your substack what is a substack.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Substack is it's a it can be a subscription. Well,
- 18:59Speaker 3: it is a subscription service. So I like to write,
- 19:01Speaker 3: and so it's a place for me. I started it
- 19:05Speaker 3: right after the show ended because I just was like,
- 19:07Speaker 3: I need a place to put my thoughts down in
- 19:09Speaker 3: therapy is really expensive.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that'lp be my own therapist.
- 19:13Speaker 3: That was the first way I started dropping Easter Eggs
- 19:16Speaker 3: was I started writing about cities that I was considering
- 19:22Speaker 3: moving to, and so it was a way for me
- 19:25Speaker 3: to keep people that follow me a engaged in the journey,
- 19:27Speaker 3: but be also a way for me to be like,
- 19:29Speaker 3: I'm kind of going through a lot right now, and
- 19:31Speaker 3: here's what's happening. Because I don't have an outlet to
- 19:34Speaker 3: talk about it anymore. And so it started with just
- 19:37Speaker 3: me kind of venting and exploring that creative side of me.
- 19:40Speaker 4: And then I was like, well, you know rents do.
- 19:44Speaker 3: So I also started like a paid side where I'm like,
- 19:46Speaker 3: if you want to know what's really going on in
- 19:48Speaker 3: my head, and you want me to kind of get
- 19:50Speaker 3: really personal and talk about like my family life or
- 19:52Speaker 3: things that I don't really want the general public to know.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to think, how I haven't read your
- 19:57Speaker 2: sub stack. I know it's been talked about, but like,
- 19:59Speaker 2: how personal do you get?
- 20:02Speaker 3: I talk about really personal things, and I I'm better
- 20:06Speaker 3: at having boundaries than I used to be. But like
- 20:09Speaker 3: after Thanksgibbing, I remember I was having some really complicated
- 20:12Speaker 3: feelings about wanting kids because I'm just not somebody who's
- 20:15Speaker 3: ever really wanted them. And then my family, my cousin
- 20:19Speaker 3: and my other cousin, they both just had baby girls,
- 20:21Speaker 3: and literally it's the first time in my life I
- 20:23Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, like do I want a baby?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Can arrest?
- 20:27Speaker 3: But I have, like some I have some conflicting feelings
- 20:29Speaker 3: about that, and I didn't just want to put it
- 20:32Speaker 3: out there for Reddit to tear apart. Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 2: God, the Internet, like the just the random space of
- 20:37Speaker 2: the public Internet is probably the most cruel space ever
- 20:39Speaker 2: I know. And I'm just like, I'm gonna go after
- 20:41Speaker 2: you for no reason.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I also film a lot of things kind of wine drunk,
- 20:44Speaker 3: So I'm like, let me put this in a safe
- 20:46Speaker 3: place whereas like, if you want to read this and
- 20:47Speaker 3: tear this apart, like at the very least, like you know, subscribe.
- 20:51Speaker 3: So yeah, and I just talked about some of those,
- 20:54Speaker 3: like really personal feelings, or I just talked about things
- 20:56Speaker 3: that maybe I didn't want the general employer to find out,
- 20:59Speaker 3: like oh, I had an interview last week, like things
- 21:01Speaker 3: that like you have to be very invested in me
- 21:04Speaker 3: if you're gonna subscribe to that part of my substack.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So yeah, but I think those are the things that
- 21:08Speaker 2: makes us so human, Like that's some of the things
- 21:10Speaker 2: that when I first got into radio, brought it to life.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's knowing that my story.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Is something that I'm going through, but I'm not going
- 21:18Speaker 2: through alone, yes, or like the bigger picture of this,
- 21:21Speaker 2: it's somebody that messages you after and they say, I'm
- 21:23Speaker 2: so glad that you brought that up because I'm going
- 21:25Speaker 2: through the exact same thing. Isn't that the whole point
- 21:27Speaker 2: of having the power of a microphone to be able
- 21:30Speaker 2: to connect people, to be open with them. And I
- 21:33Speaker 2: think that's where we talked about this a couple of
- 21:35Speaker 2: days ago, where sometimes it could feel like if you
- 21:37Speaker 2: just follow me on Instagram or you listen to me
- 21:39Speaker 2: on the radio, in certain timeframes, you could think that
- 21:42Speaker 2: life is just a ball of sunshine and rainbows every
- 21:44Speaker 2: day of the week.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And the reality is.
- 21:46Speaker 2: That's why it's also really cool to have open spaces
- 21:49Speaker 2: to conversation.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's not the biggest picture.
- 21:52Speaker 2: That's a part of the picture, that's a part of
- 21:54Speaker 2: the frame, but it's not the bigger side of things.
- 21:57Speaker 1: But it's also what makes us human.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think hopefully that is what allows you
- 22:01Speaker 2: to see like, oh, wow, man, I'm going through a
- 22:04Speaker 2: lot of the same crap that Abby's going through.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 4: It makes people feel less alone.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's one of the most terrifying things ever,
- 22:10Speaker 3: is to feel like I'm on this planet and I'm
- 22:12Speaker 3: the only person experiencing this, Whereas you would think it
- 22:15Speaker 3: would make you feel worse that, like, oh, I'm not
- 22:17Speaker 3: original because I'm not the only person going through this,
- 22:19Speaker 3: But like, I think the reality is it's very validating, like, oh,
- 22:23Speaker 3: Abby's story looks different than mine, but her emotions are
- 22:25Speaker 3: still the same.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And if for me, I'm seeing someone that's gone through
- 22:29Speaker 2: something similar, the feeling I get internally is like, wow,
- 22:32Speaker 2: if they could get through it, well, then there's hope
- 22:34Speaker 2: that I could get through it too.
- 22:36Speaker 3: For sure. And I think that was kind of my
- 22:38Speaker 3: hope too. And I think something I sort of have
- 22:41Speaker 3: to push back against. Is is it narcissistic to put
- 22:44Speaker 3: out this kind of thing, Like is it self centered
- 22:46Speaker 3: to think that people are paying so much attention to
- 22:48Speaker 3: my substack or my Instagram about like the strigs that
- 22:51Speaker 3: I'm dropping, that they you know what I mean. Like,
- 22:52Speaker 3: there's a lot of those thoughts I have to push
- 22:54Speaker 3: back on. But then I also have to remember that
- 22:56Speaker 3: there's I love following people's stories. Correct, you know, in
- 23:00Speaker 3: three years people can see the despair that I felt
- 23:04Speaker 3: in the beginning of losing a job that I loved
- 23:06Speaker 3: and see what was built from that.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a beauty. It's literally why we go
- 23:10Speaker 2: and watch a movie for the story. We're invested, because
- 23:13Speaker 2: we want to see how this story unfolds. Because sometimes
- 23:17Speaker 2: what I've learned is as much as it sounds like
- 23:19Speaker 2: a narcissistic side to just say here's my life, I'm
- 23:22Speaker 2: gonna share every video and photo and me me, me, No,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I don't think people. I never go out it as
- 23:28Speaker 2: a way of like, oh gosh, I hope you just
- 23:29Speaker 2: care so much about me. I've always gone about the
- 23:31Speaker 2: frame of like, hmm, I wonder how this connects to
- 23:34Speaker 2: somebody else or I wonder like for me, it's like,
- 23:36Speaker 2: how does this lift somebody in their day or inspire
- 23:39Speaker 2: or get someone to think differently, versus like I hope
- 23:42Speaker 2: you just pay attention to me, Like, no, I want
- 23:44Speaker 2: to give my life as an outlet for your life.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So if you're right now you're going through a tough
- 23:48Speaker 2: time and you're like I just I literally need an escape,
- 23:51Speaker 2: well then perfect. Hopefully I can provide that escape, and
- 23:53Speaker 2: then when I'm going through something, hopefully you can look
- 23:55Speaker 2: at it and say, man, I really appreciate them being
- 23:58Speaker 2: so open and maybe inspire one that it connects my
- 24:01Speaker 2: story and your story, but maybe it looks at it
- 24:04Speaker 2: as you know what, it's gonna inspire me to be
- 24:06Speaker 2: more open about what's going on in my life. Like
- 24:08Speaker 2: that's been the biggest thing that I've shared either on
- 24:11Speaker 2: social or on the radio, Like any challenge that I've
- 24:14Speaker 2: just shared openly. It's been so interesting to see the
- 24:16Speaker 2: reaction because most people are like, man, that's given me
- 24:19Speaker 2: the courage to say something like I made a post
- 24:21Speaker 2: recently about the solo journey that it's like all right,
- 24:23Speaker 2: finding myself again being alone in the world, going on
- 24:25Speaker 2: new adventures trying to do all these things that make
- 24:27Speaker 2: me feel very uncomfortable, and oh my gosh, the amount
- 24:30Speaker 2: of messages that I got and the comments that I
- 24:32Speaker 2: got were just like, I'm so glad you said this
- 24:34Speaker 2: because I'm going through the exact same thing. I'm like, well,
- 24:36Speaker 2: thank god, because I felt like such an idiot putting
- 24:38Speaker 2: that post up I did. I felt so self conscious, like,
- 24:40Speaker 2: oh gosh, this is gonna make me look like a weenie.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But it was just the actual emotion. I feel very
- 24:45Speaker 2: much alone in this chapter of life. It's exciting, but
- 24:48Speaker 2: it's nerve racking. But then to see how many people respond,
- 24:51Speaker 2: you're like, oh, I guess there's a reason I felt
- 24:54Speaker 2: that pull to put that out in the universe, not
- 24:56Speaker 2: to make it about me, but to make it about us.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Well, it's related. I mean, if you've ever been in
- 25:01Speaker 3: a long term relationship and you're navigating that for the
- 25:03Speaker 3: first time, there's no rule book or manual to figure
- 25:07Speaker 3: out how to make sense of those emotions because everything
- 25:10Speaker 3: you used to do with somebody else you now have
- 25:12Speaker 3: to find joy in doing by yourself, which is tough.
- 25:14Speaker 3: And I said this to you yesterday. It takes a
- 25:16Speaker 3: lot of courage to make that decision, because it's so
- 25:19Speaker 3: many people stay in those relationships for a lot of reasons.
- 25:21Speaker 3: A lot of people think they can't do better, or
- 25:23Speaker 3: they would just rather do the comfortable thing and stay
- 25:25Speaker 3: in it, or they don't want to lose out on
- 25:28Speaker 3: all the investment in that relationship. It's like the sunk
- 25:31Speaker 3: cost fallacy.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely, you've put so much time and effort and
- 25:35Speaker 2: honestly money and all these thoughts and plans and then
- 25:39Speaker 2: to say no more that is a I mean again,
- 25:43Speaker 2: if it's like your first time ever hearing me, I
- 25:45Speaker 2: just got out of a four year relationship, and honestly,
- 25:47Speaker 2: there's no hard feelings toward each other. It was just
- 25:50Speaker 2: it was literally the right thing to do for both
- 25:53Speaker 2: of us. I wanted her to live her best life.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I wanted me to live my best life. But it
- 25:56Speaker 2: was those thoughts were just circling, like, you've put so
- 26:00Speaker 2: much into this, Is this something that you could just
- 26:02Speaker 2: keep doing?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Is there a way to fix this?
- 26:04Speaker 2: And at a certain point you have to say to yourself,
- 26:06Speaker 2: I think are actually going to be better off And
- 26:08Speaker 2: what's crazy is now we are, like we'll be better
- 26:11Speaker 2: off as friends and I've never really been friends with
- 26:14Speaker 2: anybody I've broken up with or gone into a relationship with.
- 26:17Speaker 2: But it is fascinating because now when we talk it's
- 26:19Speaker 2: so much it literally feels more natural where you're like, oh,
- 26:22Speaker 2: there's no pressure for romantic side of this. We're just
- 26:25Speaker 2: two friends catching up and there's no like, oh you
- 26:28Speaker 2: have to do this or I have to do this,
- 26:30Speaker 2: or expectations for each other.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Huh.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Interesting, But it took a lot of time of thinking
- 26:35Speaker 2: through exactly that of HM put a lot of time
- 26:37Speaker 2: into this, Yeah, what's it going to be like when
- 26:39Speaker 2: I say and we should split?
- 26:40Speaker 3: And I think that's why it's important to share that,
- 26:42Speaker 3: and why I think this specific morning show is going
- 26:45Speaker 3: to be really interesting for people to listen to is
- 26:47Speaker 3: we're both pretty much the same age, in the same
- 26:50Speaker 3: phase of life, but different things got us here. Whereas
- 26:54Speaker 3: I think it'd be interesting like I've been chronically single,
- 26:57Speaker 3: where I kind of feel like maybe I'm gonna walk
- 26:59Speaker 3: you through is like to be single? Whereas how funny
- 27:05Speaker 3: would it be like you me chronically single? What if
- 27:08Speaker 3: I get into a relationship while I'm in Tampa and
- 27:10Speaker 3: then like I need someone to tell me how do
- 27:12Speaker 3: I function as a duo for the first time in
- 27:15Speaker 3: my life?
- 27:15Speaker 2: Gosh, I could so. I mean, I honestly have this
- 27:18Speaker 2: internal feeling. I know that you've said you've been chronically single,
- 27:20Speaker 2: but I do have this feeling like I think it's
- 27:23Speaker 2: going to happen. I don't know what it is, but
- 27:24Speaker 2: there's just the thought in my head that's like, that's
- 27:26Speaker 2: gonna be the role in a couple months, somebody's gonna
- 27:29Speaker 2: pop around. You're gonna feel a connection. You're gonna be like,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I don't know if I want this. I'm gonna be
- 27:33Speaker 2: like Abby, I think this is something that should probably
- 27:35Speaker 2: lean into, give it a chance, see where it goes,
- 27:38Speaker 2: and next thing, you know, six months, you're actually gonna
- 27:40Speaker 2: be a relationship. And then I'm gonna be the chronically
- 27:42Speaker 2: single I really do see that.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And then I'm apt to like, run you away from
- 27:45Speaker 3: all the girls. I'll be like, you know, she's bad
- 27:47Speaker 3: for you.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That's gonna be, honestly the hardest thought, Like I want
- 27:51Speaker 2: to the hardest part so far about being into the
- 27:54Speaker 2: single world has been I don't like to hurt people.
- 28:00Speaker 2: And I'm not talking physically, but like literally emotionally of
- 28:03Speaker 2: like I don't want to go on a date with
- 28:04Speaker 2: somebody and then have that hard conversation of like, you know,
- 28:09Speaker 2: it's not working out because I.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Just don't want them to take it personally.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I just don't want to be that person that's like
- 28:13Speaker 2: make you feel less about yourself, make you question yourself
- 28:16Speaker 2: or doubt yourself. That honestly freaks me out internally.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Because I'm like, no, no, no, no. I just look
- 28:20Speaker 1: at it as we're just not compatible. We're not two people.
- 28:24Speaker 3: You would think that would make sense, but I mean,
- 28:25Speaker 3: no one's gonna feel that way when you reject them.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I know that's like a hard thing to wrap your
- 28:29Speaker 3: mind around. Is I know, no matter what, you're gonna
- 28:33Speaker 3: hurt somebody.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I know, but that I think there's also a weight
- 28:36Speaker 2: of it that's like, oh gosh, especially if you know
- 28:39Speaker 2: that I do a morning show in Tampa Bay and
- 28:41Speaker 2: you're like, I just don't want someone to, like, I
- 28:44Speaker 2: don't know, want have a bad impression of me in
- 28:46Speaker 2: their mind, Like then think of me as the guy
- 28:49Speaker 2: that's aid jerk on the radio all because I said
- 28:51Speaker 2: no to going on a date.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Well, you're gonna get posted in one of those Facebook
- 28:54Speaker 4: groups you know. That's the worst part.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Aren't there like, aren't there face?
- 28:57Speaker 2: I obviously can't get in, but there's specifically like women
- 29:00Speaker 2: in groups that like share men not to go on
- 29:03Speaker 2: dates with.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Correct.
- 29:04Speaker 3: I cannot reveal what the name of it is because
- 29:06Speaker 3: I've already been kicked out of one for doing this
- 29:08Speaker 3: exact thing.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I don't know the name of it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: For the love of God, let me stay in this group.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I'm not going to talk about it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: No, I don't need to know who's in there.
- 29:15Speaker 2: But that would suck because at least what I've always
- 29:18Speaker 2: wanted to do is make sure that like and I
- 29:20Speaker 2: guess you can't always get your side of the story
- 29:22Speaker 2: in there, but I would want to at least be
- 29:24Speaker 2: able to say, like, hello, it just didn't work out.
- 29:27Speaker 2: But I'm sure somebody will come along try to trash
- 29:31Speaker 2: my name, and I hope that no matter what, if
- 29:33Speaker 2: you're in this community, if you're in this squad, if
- 29:35Speaker 2: you're in this soul listening circle, that you understand always
- 29:38Speaker 2: my intentions. I try to be as authentic, loving, caring
- 29:41Speaker 2: as possible. So it freaks me out that somebody, probably
- 29:45Speaker 2: just by odds, is not going to see that.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Well, here's the thing.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Some people use it for good, some people use it
- 29:50Speaker 3: for evil, and then some people don't know how to
- 29:52Speaker 3: use it. Because sometimes I'll get on those those groups
- 29:55Speaker 3: and I've seen a couple of people that I've matched
- 29:57Speaker 3: with a couple of times, and sometimes it's validating because
- 29:59Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, I went to too, but I'm not
- 30:00Speaker 3: gonna say it. I'm not going to engage. I just
- 30:02Speaker 3: want to see what other people are going through. But
- 30:04Speaker 3: ninety percent of the posts are usually women who have
- 30:07Speaker 3: matched with someone and they have a date set on Saturday,
- 30:10Speaker 3: and they're like, any tea before I go on this date.
- 30:13Speaker 3: And I love it when I see women step into
- 30:15Speaker 3: the comments that go girl, go on the date.
- 30:17Speaker 2: First before you like, just go see what it's like,
- 30:20Speaker 2: see what it's like, Skien.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah, do you like him? We don't know if you
- 30:24Speaker 3: like him yet, go on the date.
- 30:25Speaker 1: First, Yeah, don't let That's actually a good point.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I have a good friend that's so worried that somebody
- 30:29Speaker 2: else is going to try to trash their name, and
- 30:30Speaker 2: I'm like, if somebody doesn't give you the time of
- 30:32Speaker 2: day to even see what you're like in person, to
- 30:35Speaker 2: hear yourself like, well, then I wouldn't want to be
- 30:37Speaker 2: with them either, because they're not even giving me a chance.
- 30:40Speaker 2: But if I ever do get put into one of
- 30:42Speaker 2: those groups, would you tell me.
- 30:44Speaker 3: I don't know that I can reveal that information publicly
- 30:49Speaker 3: because I don't want to get kicked out of the
- 30:50Speaker 3: g That's true.
- 30:50Speaker 2: You don't have to, and I don't need to know.
- 30:52Speaker 2: That's fine, Like I'm so excited. Here's what's so interesting
- 30:55Speaker 2: about this time period. As certain dates work out, or
- 30:58Speaker 2: as I try to shoot my shot and I get rejected,
- 31:00Speaker 2: I always look at it as okay, fine, like this
- 31:02Speaker 2: is getting me one step closer to like my wife,
- 31:06Speaker 2: and I really do because it's been kind of embarrassing.
- 31:10Speaker 2: It's like you're like finally getting the courage. You're like,
- 31:12Speaker 2: you know what, I'm gonna ask you out. Then you
- 31:15Speaker 2: get ghosted, and so immediately my mind's like, gosh, you
- 31:19Speaker 2: see it's because of you. And I'm like, you know what, No,
- 31:22Speaker 2: let me speak back to it. And I'm like, no,
- 31:24Speaker 2: that's because that means somewhere down the line is my wife.
- 31:27Speaker 2: And I couldn't interact with it right now, with this person,
- 31:29Speaker 2: because there's somebody better that's waiting or.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Maybe she rejected you and you just have to convince
- 31:33Speaker 3: her that she's she's your wife.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Nice, keep going back? How many times?
- 31:37Speaker 2: Actually we'll end with this because this is something my
- 31:40Speaker 2: buddy and I were talking, and I don't think the
- 31:41Speaker 2: advice from guys is always the best advice. If somebody
- 31:44Speaker 2: slides up into your DMS and you do not get like,
- 31:47Speaker 2: let's say, let's say I slide up into somebody's DMS.
- 31:50Speaker 1: They do not see the message.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Apparently, define not see the message.
- 31:55Speaker 1: I doesn't say red.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Okay, so it doesn't say red.
- 31:58Speaker 1: And they don't reply.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Do you follow this person? Do they follow you?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Yes?
- 32:02Speaker 3: Okay, so you're mutual followers and they don't quote unquote
- 32:06Speaker 3: see your.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Message they quote unquote. I know it sounds so stupid.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Nuts they saw it.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Then, I know they saw it. Do you double No,
- 32:15Speaker 1: that's what I thought too.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I know exactly who you're referencing to.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh this is Oh well, my thought
- 32:22Speaker 2: is okay, let's say, if I see this is gonna
- 32:26Speaker 2: be the adventures of Scott Single now trying to navigate this.
- 32:29Speaker 2: If I see them in person, do I say anything?
- 32:31Speaker 3: If you saw them in person, you go, hey, why
- 32:33Speaker 3: did you see my DM? Please let her bow out
- 32:35Speaker 3: with grace.
- 32:36Speaker 4: It is.
- 32:37Speaker 3: It is as tough as it is to approach someone.
- 32:39Speaker 3: And I always respect someone shooting their shot, like I
- 32:42Speaker 3: like to think I'm one of the nice ones, Like
- 32:44Speaker 3: I've never looked at a guy and gone, oh, you're
- 32:47Speaker 3: gonna ask me out? But sometimes it does put you
- 32:49Speaker 3: in an impossible position, like you said, where if you're
- 32:52Speaker 3: breaking breaking up with someone, it's so easy for you
- 32:54Speaker 3: to become the villain or for them to lash out
- 32:57Speaker 3: at you. And the same thing is for women when
- 32:58Speaker 3: they get approached. Whereas if I'm not interested in you,
- 33:01Speaker 3: like if you're cornering me into like are you attracted
- 33:03Speaker 3: to me? Or ask me a question like what a problem?
- 33:06Speaker 3: What's the problem? Like what do you want me? What
- 33:08Speaker 3: do you want me to say? And so sometimes I
- 33:10Speaker 3: think just ignoring it is sort of the polite way
- 33:12Speaker 3: of letting you live in the delusion of maybe she
- 33:14Speaker 3: just didn't see it, when in reality, am.
- 33:16Speaker 1: I'm a delusion land you know, I'm the lulu.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Whereas she saw it, but she doesn't want to put
- 33:21Speaker 3: in writing I don't want to date you.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I would so rather that like just say no, I'm
- 33:27Speaker 2: not interested and be like all right, cool, Like I
- 33:29Speaker 2: get it. But I also get it because I have
- 33:31Speaker 2: heard horror stories from women that have said guys have
- 33:34Speaker 2: just lost it when they've been rejected.
- 33:36Speaker 3: They retaliate thing, Whereas I don't want to deal with that,
- 33:39Speaker 3: Whereas I feel like it's just the easiest thing for
- 33:41Speaker 3: me to do.
- 33:42Speaker 4: It's just not say anything.
- 33:43Speaker 1: That's fine, and you know what. That's what I mean.
- 33:45Speaker 2: When I had that whole internal thought process with myself,
- 33:47Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, it's cool that they
- 33:49Speaker 2: didn't reply. I needed to do this for myself to
- 33:51Speaker 2: have this strength and the courage to shoot my shot.
- 33:53Speaker 2: And if you don't reply, that means I'm just one
- 33:55Speaker 2: step closer to my wife exactly, and one day she's
- 33:57Speaker 2: going to a free shape when I shoot my shot.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Ye. I appreciate.
- 34:01Speaker 2: If you're listening to this and you followed along with
- 34:03Speaker 2: Abbey's story or my story, make sure to follow us
- 34:05Speaker 2: on social media.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Abbey, what's your social media?
- 34:07Speaker 3: At the Abbey Murphy Everywhere?
- 34:08Speaker 2: You could also follow the station at Magic ninety four
- 34:11Speaker 2: nine and my personal is at Scott Tavlin.
- 34:14Speaker 1: You can slot up in my DMS. I promise to
- 34:16Speaker 1: reply it's Scott t Y avelin
