- 1:50Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 124.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: It is a 4th of July long weekend, and you know what that means, John.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: They're all coming into town.
- 2:00Sean McAllister: Well, they're all coming into town if their flights aren't canceled.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: True.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: Because that's been a big problem for this holiday weekend, and really is something that people are going to be experiencing all summer long as they try and have a little bit of a getaway is how do I get there and how do I get back without any issues?
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: It's like you have to build in a buffer now, right?
- 2:21Sean McAllister: You do.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Because you don't want to miss a day of work, or you need to get back for something, or you wanna, you know, you're supposed to leave on a certain day and then you can't leave for a day or two later, so you gotta build in that buffer.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, just plan on your original flight not making it.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: Oh, how frustrating.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: I know it is terrible.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: But that is the world we're living in, and at least more people are traveling in order for there to be cancellations.
- 2:46Sean McAllister: That is very true.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: Travel is in demand, and so is Las Vegas.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: I've been uh hearing from uh my sister is in town right now from the East Coast, and she said on all the news stations there they just kept talking about Fourth of July travel, and Las Vegas was like one of the top destinations where people were going.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, why not?
- 3:08Dayna Roselli: We have it all, right?
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: We have great firework displays too.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Caesars Entertainment is doing fireworks on the strip.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: Then we have the plaza downtown doing a show at 9 p.m.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: in the downtown area, and then all our station casinos, which are really planted all over the valley around Las Vegas.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: They're they always do a great show.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: They're doing fireworks at nine o'clock too.
- 3:28Sean McAllister: And these are all on Monday, July 4th.
- 3:32Sean McAllister: Obviously, 4th of July is when you would have 4th of July fireworks.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: But you know, I always wondered if I I've been wondering if there were going to be fireworks spread all throughout the weekend.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: Of course, there's gonna be illegal fireworks being set off, which isn't a very good idea here in Las Vegas right now because it is so hot and dry, and that could really spark some nasty fires.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: We've had like a a couple days where there was like monsoon activity for like two hours and a little sprinkle here and there, but that's been about it, right?
- 4:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, it kind of evaporates almost immediately.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: So many of you may be listening to this after the Fourth of July, but we wanted to touch on Fourth of July a little bit, and I found this survey really interesting.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: Pass it on to Sean, and we thought the list of reasons that we are officially 2022's fifth best city to celebrate the Fourth of July.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: Interesting list.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: No, Sean, apparently 84% of Americans plan to celebrate the fourth this year, and collective food and spending for the holiday is projected to reach, get the$7.7 billion.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: Wallet Hub always does great surveys, so they put us in fifth place, and um apparently they they kind of take a look at like the the 100 largest US cities based on how well they balance holiday cost and fun.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: So we ranked in a number of categories.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: And so you have the list in front of you now, and uh let's go through some of these.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: So we ranked number one in legality of fireworks, which I thought was interesting because we do have firework booths.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: And remember, you and I grew up in Rochester, New York.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: We never had that.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: I thought that was weird when I moved to them like you can buy fireworks in the parking lot.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: We always had like those little snaps, yeah.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: Those little snap things that you throw on the ground and they pop, the little popper things.
- 5:25Sean McAllister: Right, right.
- 5:26Sean McAllister: We always had those, but yeah, I guess we never really I had I did have family members though who had a cottage at the lake, and somehow there would be a shed full of fireworks that would miraculously appear for the Fourth of July.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: I don't know where they came from, I don't know who brought them, but the fireworks mysteriously appeared.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Well, those kind of fireworks are still illegal here, like you mentioned.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: It's too dry, it's dangerous, but I think they almost hope that if we sell these safe and sound fireworks, that people will buy those, get their fix, you know, and they sell them in booths all across the valley, and usually it's the money goes to charity for different organizations.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: You'll see the Boy Scouts out there and Boys and Girls Club and all that kind of thing.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, but all of these fireworks, they're very low to the ground.
- 6:14Sean McAllister: They don't shoot off into the air like the the stuff that you see from the casino displays or for other major displays.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: It's uh, you know, there it's like uh a tube that you light and sparks fly out the top, they make noises, they pop, but uh it's not gonna be anything that like flies up in the air and sets your tree on fire.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: But I guess the fact that we sell them put us first on the list.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: And then we're also first on the list for prevalence of affordable 4.5 plus star restaurants.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: That makes sense.
- 6:48Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I mean, if people want to go out and eat on 4th of July, we've got the top restaurants, and um, a lot of them are really good, apparently.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: Then we landed in fifth place, and the number of Fourth of July festivals and performances that we have going on, some probably they're probably taking into account that we have, you know, great firework displays, but we also have shows all over the the town, you know.
- 7:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 7:10Sean McAllister: Normal shows.
- 7:12Sean McAllister: And if you go off the strip a little bit, one of the best parades all year is the Summerlin Patriotic Parade.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: It is.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: And that is I mean, they have like Macy's style balloons and floats.
- 7:25Sean McAllister: It's really, really well done.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: If you get up in the morning, head out and and catch that, because it really is a great parade.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: Hey, I think that starts at 9 a.m.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: on the Monday of 4th of July.
- 7:37Dayna Roselli: So um we didn't do well, we came like middle of the road on duration of fireworks show, which I thought was interesting.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: And I recently did a Vegas on show where we talked about the length, and it was I think we said that they were 13 minutes.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: Apparently that's other cities do it longer.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Huh.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: 13 minutes, I thought I think is pretty good.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: It's a pretty solid display.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: And then 55th, we came in for walkability, which makes sense.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: We aren't a very walkable town unless you walk up and down the strip.
- 8:07Sean McAllister: True.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: 46th for the average beer and wine prices.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: We're up there.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: Not that's a unless you come to my backyard and grab some Costco beer out of the cooler.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: And then we came in 13th for lowest price of three-star hotel rooms.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: That's kind of toward the top.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: But I guess, like, you know, our really fancier hotels or highly rated hotels are really expensive, but the other ones are somewhat affordable.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: So that's good to do.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: Oh, that's good.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: It's good to see though, we we rank in the the top 50% in almost all categories, and a lot of them, oh, a handful of those are up in the top 20, which is great.
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: So welcome everyone for 4th of July.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Um, if you're here, enjoy our fun stuff that we always have going on, and then of course, all our great fireworks displays and the Summerlin Parade that'll be going on to celebrate.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: So, of course, we're gonna have visitors for Fourth of July, but we just had a very famous visitor who decided to do something fun while here on the strip.
- 9:12Sean McAllister: Brittany Spears returned to Las Vegas.
- 9:16Sean McAllister: She's been seen around town quite a bit lately, Dana.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: You and I keep mentioning that, and you even brought up in a in a podcast previously that Britney Spears has been spending a lot of time at Resorts World, and you think maybe she's gonna ink a deal there at some point.
- 9:32Sean McAllister: I would not be surprised if Britney Spears pops on the list of uh entertainers at Resorts World, which already includes Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, David Blaine now, um, eventually Celine Dion when she gets back and ready to perform.
- 9:52Sean McAllister: So Britney would be in good company.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: They're doing a journey show there too.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: They had Michael Boblet.
- 9:57Dayna Roselli: I mean, the list is getting longer.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: It is some of them are return, and then others are doing kind of spurts so or one-offs even.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: I think Journeys is is a few days.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: So anyway, yeah, we'll see what happens with Britney.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: That could be really interesting.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: But she was in town recently and she put on her Instagram something that I actually noticed right away.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: Well, I've been there, but she was over at the Omega Mart, which is at Area 15, and she was having some fun.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: You know that secret door they have in the in the mart there that you can open up.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: It looks like a freezer drinker.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: And then you can go back through these tunnels and all sorts of other stuff.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so she did a little Instagram story on that.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: So, and she had r actually written playing in Vegas as she twirled right into the little secret tunnel there.
- 10:43Sean McAllister: And it's funny, I was trying to explain to my sister the other day what exactly Omega Mart is, and I did a terrible job explaining it.
- 10:51Sean McAllister: Well, we She was horribly confused after I got done, and I was like, you know what?
- 10:56Sean McAllister: It's just one of those things you need to go see and experience.
- 10:59Sean McAllister: It's beyond explanation.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: It is, it is.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: You and I would had a chat with the public relations person there once before, and she was like, I even have a hard time explaining it.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: So, and that's my job.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: But speaking of Resorts World, they just celebrated their one-year anniversary.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: I can't believe it's been a year already since that grand opening party, which is fabulous.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: Can you believe it?
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: Unreal.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: They have been, you know, just plugging away and adding new things.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: They've opened a lot of restaurants over there.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: For people that don't know a lot about Resorts World, it combines three Hilton brands, the Hilton, the Conrad, and Crockford's.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: And it's all under one roof.
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: So it kind of makes it a little bit different than other strip casinos.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: And they've also apparently hired um around 5,000 workers, which is great, creating jobs over the last year.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: Like you mentioned, they we have a you know a lot of headliners there now, a lot of different shows.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: The theater is open.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Zoop Nightclub seems to be doing well, so all that stuff, really great.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: And they really have a lot of like interactive things that they do there, a lot of pop-ups and little festivals, and uh just they seem to be doing things a little bit different.
- 12:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, they had a big Mezcal festival over there.
- 12:06Sean McAllister: I know that uh it's turning into a hot spot for uh weddings as well.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: There have been several high-profile uh athletes, NHL athletes mostly that I've seen who have gotten married over there.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: So, you know, those private events, they're doing a lot of those, which is great.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: And, you know, the restaurants are opening.
- 12:27Sean McAllister: Uh Carver Steak has opened up.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: I know Brezza, the Italian restaurant over at Resorts World, is celebrating its anniversary as well.
- 12:37Sean McAllister: Um, so it it's exciting for all who have been involved in opening the new property because it is not often, we mentioned this in previous episodes.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: It is not often that you get to open a Las Vegas resort from the ground up.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 12:54Sean McAllister: This isn't just you know revitalizing an existing resort.
- 12:57Sean McAllister: This is new construction from the ground up, and you know, it does take some time to get things the way that you want it when you have a new property.
- 13:07Sean McAllister: The with the way you open maybe isn't necessarily the way that you're going to continue operating.
- 13:12Sean McAllister: So it's an evolution.
- 13:14Sean McAllister: It is.
- 13:14Sean McAllister: So congratulations to everyone involved because that is a a big undertaking.
- 13:18Sean McAllister: Beautiful property, though.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: I do love it.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: But you were just down the road over at the Mirage recently.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: You mentioned your sister's in town, and you guys went and stayed at the Mirage for a couple days just to have a little staycation, have some fun, give her the Vegas experience.
- 13:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, and you know what I thought was really cool?
- 13:33Sean McAllister: This is the first time I've stayed at an MGM resorts hotel casino since the pandemic.
- 13:41Sean McAllister: And I know that we did an episode where we spoke with um somebody from MGM Resorts, and they talked about all of the touchless technology that's going into all of their resorts on the strip.
- 13:55Sean McAllister: And so this was my first time experiencing that.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: Basically, there's an app that you download that links to your hotel reservation.
- 14:04Sean McAllister: Um you no longer have to go to the front desk to check in.
- 14:08Sean McAllister: You check in on the app and it sends you an alert when your room is ready, it tells you where your room is.
- 14:14Sean McAllister: You hit a little button on the app and it turns your phone into your room key.
- 14:19Sean McAllister: So you hold the back of your phone up to the sensor on the door and it unlocks your door for you.
- 14:25Sean McAllister: So gone are the days when you have to fumble around looking for the room key, doing all that.
- 14:31Sean McAllister: It's all on your phone.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: And it's great.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: What I did want to do though is uh get an actual hard copy room key for my sister.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: She was staying on a different floor, and the way they have the elevators, you can only go, you have to hold your room key up to hit a button to make the elevator move.
- 14:51Sean McAllister: But you can only go to the floor where your room is, which is I imagine a security uh feature.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: Um yeah.
- 14:59Sean McAllister: So I wanted to get a key for my sister so she could come up and down.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: Um they had a little iPad thing set up in the lobby where you just go, you hold your phone up against this iPad so it registers links to your account.
- 15:12Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 15:13Sean McAllister: They have a box of blank uh room keys sitting next to it.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: You slide it in this little slot, it makes you a key right there, and you don't have to deal with uh like the registration process.
- 15:28Sean McAllister: It w it was great.
- 15:29Sean McAllister: I major kudos to MGM for uh coming up with this technology and really doing a great job implementing it because it was so easy to use.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, usually you walk in the lobby of any of these hotels and you see this big long line, right?
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: So it you can hop that, which is nice.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, you skip all the lines, check in, check out, all right from the app.
- 15:50Sean McAllister: So that was great.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: And MG uh excuse me, MGM has sold off the Mirage, so it had that hasn't gone into play yet, but that will be in hard a Hard Rock International at some point.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: But for now it's still MGM.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: For now, yeah, it's still operating as an MGM property.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: Uh, we also went to see The Beatles Love over that's at the Mirage.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: Um it's been a long time since I've seen that show.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: One of my favorites.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's so good.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: Um, but I was surprised to see that they have made a lot of changes to the show.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: A lot of the acts are are different.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: It seemed, based on what I remember, it seemed like some of the songs, some of the music selections have been moved around a little bit.
- 16:31Sean McAllister: Um, so it almost felt like going to see an all-new show, which was fun.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: That is fun.
- 16:37Dayna Roselli: I love when they change it up, and I think it's important because there are people who love shows, but they're like, should we go again if they return to Las Vegas because we loved it so much, or should we try something new?
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: But at least they know if they're gonna go back in a few years that things might be ch might be changed, like you said, and it's you know, there's pieces of it that are still the old show, but a little bit of the new.
- 16:56Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 16:56Sean McAllister: But you know what, on the opposite end of the spectrum, I'm digressing here.
- 17:00Sean McAllister: I recently went to do a video shoot over at Oh at Bellagio, another Cirque du Soleil show.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: It's been around for almost 25 years, and it has not changed once.
- 17:13Sean McAllister: Wow, they haven't changed any of the numbers.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: The cast changes out, but they said, you know what, this is a formula, it's a show that works.
- 17:21Sean McAllister: People keep coming back, and to this day, it is still one of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas strip.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that sure that show is beautiful to to witness.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: So maybe they're just figure, yeah, like you said, people are coming back.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: We're not noticing a dip in crowds.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: So the Beatles love, that was great.
- 17:42Sean McAllister: Another note, just a tip here.
- 17:44Sean McAllister: If you are staying at the Mirage and you're planning to get out to the pool, make your plans early.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: When uh we were out getting coffee in the morning, there was a line waiting to get out to the pool before it opened up.
- 17:58Sean McAllister: I think it opens at 8 a.m.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: There was a line wrapped around over by the mirage theater to get out to the pool and and snag some lounge chairs.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: People, the early birds will wake up and get those chairs.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: It's funny you say that my brother and his wife used to stay there all the time because I think they honeymooned there.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: And so they would always go to the mirage whenever they would come into Las Vegas, and they said the same thing.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: They like, you it's really hard to get a chair, and the chairs are lined up like literally right next to each other all in a row, so it's hard to even get in and out, and but they try and fit as many people as they possibly can to make everyone comfortable.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: But yeah, that's definitely a pool that fills up quick, and you gotta grab your chair.
- 18:36Sean McAllister: You do, you do, but it was a a great stay.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Oh, good.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: I'm so glad to hear that.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's been a while since I've actually stayed over at the Mirage, so I'm glad you had a good experience there.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: It sounds like it was fun.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: It was, it was really nice.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: And Dana, you have uh ventured out a little bit on the strip as well.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I did, and and we've talked about all these things that I did before, but I'm just gonna run through a couple notes that I noticed.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: The aft cocktail deck, that is the old Parasol Down at Wynn Las Vegas.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: We talked about how they revamped the deck, they added some boots and umbrellas.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: It's absolutely gorgeous.
- 19:06Dayna Roselli: Went out there to meet some friends for drinks.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: We weren't sure because we were meeting at 6, and I was like, it's gonna be really hot.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: It was like, you know, lately it's been like what, 104, 105.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's still warm.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: So at 6 p.m., that's warm.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: It's hot.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: So we were like, well, let's try the patio and see what it's like, expecting it to be, you know, with the sun blaring and just super hot.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: Anyway, that area by 6 p.m.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: is all shaded.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: A.
- 19:30Dayna Roselli: B, I don't know if they were blowing in cold air, but it was not hot at all.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: It was just it was so comfortable.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: We were like, wow, this is amazing.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: And then with the waterfall and the water feature, there's like a humidity, almost like a rainforesty smell and feel.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: So it was absolutely comfortable.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: Um, my friend showed up with a sports jacket on, he was fine.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was great to sit out there and have cocktails.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: So do not let the 100-degree heat deter you from going to the aft cocktail deck at the win.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: It's perfect.
- 20:00Sean McAllister: Do you know what I wonder?
- 20:01Sean McAllister: You know how uh they've built up almost like uh stadium seating.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: We've talked about this.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: They it's almost like stadium seating out there at Aft, where they have uh booths, like bankettes that are built up on different levels.
- 20:16Sean McAllister: I wonder if they have like air conditioning piped in through those platforms that they built up.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think they do, for sure.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: And I don't think it was like too much, like it wasn't like freezing or coal, but it was like just enough to keep it cool in there.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, that could definitely be what they did.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: But we were like, wow, this is so comfortable.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: I didn't expect it.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: Um also traveled to Circa and went to Barry's again for dinner.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: It was amazing.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: Love to see Chef Barry.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: I love how he stops at the tables, it's so great.
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: But when I went in there, um, it was a Saturday and nine o'clock we had a reservation.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: We were doing like a late, just we didn't even like eat like a full dinner.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: We were just gonna have some drinks and eat like a bunch of stuff and share it.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: Um, but it was packed in there, and I love to see that.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: The vibe in there is so good.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: So if you're looking for a fun restaurant, but also good food, but still old school, the best service, it just really is a great place at Circa.
- 21:09Sean McAllister: And their cocktail cart is great.
- 21:11Sean McAllister: Primo.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: Then we went up to the legacy club, and I had never been up there at night.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: We went for the Derby party.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: The Kentucky Derby, yeah.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: But it wasn't dark out.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: So went up there at night.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: The patio was great.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: We sat outside, great view of all of Las Vegas, and and that was really fun too.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: So nice time over at Circa.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: And then I also wanted to get to this.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: Something else I did involved just sitting in a movie theater again.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: We already talked about Top Gun, but now I finally saw the Elvis movie.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: Oh, El oh, so if you don't know, Dana Roselli is a massive Elvis Presley fan.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: So when we saw that this new Elvis movie by Baz Luhrmann was coming out, it was like right up there.
- 21:57Sean McAllister: This is the summer of Roselli show.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: We had uh Tom Cruise and Top Gun coming out in theaters and Elvis, her two top favorites having movies in the same summer.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: So But I'm a little skeptical whenever I see there's gonna be an Elvis movie because, like we've talked about before, I have not found, first of all, an incredible Elvis documentary that I absolutely love, or and I haven't seen like a biopic that I absolutely love either.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: So I'm always like a little like, I don't know, am I gonna like it or am I gonna be disappointed?
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: So I wasn't sure.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: This started getting really great reviews.
- 22:33Sean McAllister: It did.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: So I'm gonna tell you what I thought in just one second.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: Wanted to mention I went to Brendan Theaters at the Palms and I hadn't been there yet.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: The recliner seats are amazing.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: And the first section in the front is in front of the screen, but the second part, it kind of lifts up.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: So you're the view is like you're literally in front of the screen.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: It was I loved the theater layout.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: I love what they've done over there.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: Ooh, okay.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Yep, get on, like you know, and order uh, you know, reserve your seat ahead of time.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: It was perfect.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: There they have these like electric reclining chairs, they're red, like a red leatherish feel.
- 23:07Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: Good to know.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: Love the new theater.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: Can you order food directly to your seat?
- 23:12Sean McAllister: Any concessions?
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: I don't know because I got popcorn on the way in.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: That could be something that they do.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: I think they do have alcohol there now.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: And I don't know if they did before.
- 23:22Sean McAllister: I don't think they did.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: Okay, I think they they have a bar.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: So there's that.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know about the ordering to the seats thing.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: I'll have to look into that.
- 23:28Sean McAllister: I'll make a return.
- 23:29Sean McAllister: I'll I'll make a trip over there and test that out.
- 23:32Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, Elvis didn't love it.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: But I feel bad because everyone's loving it.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: So what was it about the Elvis movie that just didn't sit right with you?
- 23:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I and I went with a friend, my friend Matt Matt Goss, our friend Matt, who's a performer on the strip, um singer, you know, all that kind of thing.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: So it was interesting to hear his take, my take, but we both felt exactly the same.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: A, it was too slow at the beginning.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: And the way that they unveiled Elvis, it was like they kept showing him from the back, and you thought there was gonna be this big, I don't know, it just didn't.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: And then they just kind of slowly incorporated him in.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: I did not love Tom Hanks as Colonel Parker.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: Like I we were saying we wish it would have been an unknown actor, because you kept looking at him going, well, wait, is this Tom Hanks?
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: Or is it and he had an oh kind of a strange accent?
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: And it just didn't feel right.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: And then he kind of narrates the so it's basically almost told through his story.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: Because he basically starts off by saying, a lot of people think I'm the one that killed Elvis, as in the people who drove him to his death.
- 24:34Sean McAllister: Right.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: And and I contributed to that.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: And then he says, but that's not true, and then he tells his story.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: But you can make your own conclusion to that by all the facts that are uh in the movie, you know.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Um still you wonder facts or or fiction, we don't necessarily know, but or fiction eyes, you know, you know, some of the some of the facts.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: But anyway, so it's told through him.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: Didn't love Tom Hanks in that role.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: Um, I thought the main actor that played Elvis, I'm blanking on his name, uh, Brandon.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, he's adorable, by the way.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: I keep seeing him everywhere in entertainment tonight and all sorts of different places.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: Everyone keeps saying he's definitely gonna get an Oscar.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: His acting was fabulous.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: Austin Butler.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: Austin Butler.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: I knew there was a B in there, okay, in the last name.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: Austin Butler.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: He did a great job.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: Um like I wasn't didn't walk out going, wow, that was an award-winning performance.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: Like, he was good.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: Didn't love him at the beginning of the movie, but then the second half.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: So anyway, the second half gets way, way, way better.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: The first half is very it's just very overdramatized.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: And to a point where you're like, alright.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't know.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: And I don't want to give away too much, but like his performance, like a couple of them where they like tried to like basically emulate like how the girls reacted to him.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: It was like, I mean, he was like on the floor, sweat pouring everywhere, the women were like convulsing.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: I'm like, okay, this is just it just was like a bit overdramatized.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: But is that really what happened?
- 26:03Sean McAllister: Like, did women start convulsing and like I I think maybe wedding themselves and I think I don't I don't know.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: Like it literally, maybe, but it but it was like nobody knew who he was, and then like after the fur second line, that was what was happening, and I'm like, I mean, they don't even So there wasn't a progression, yeah.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: It just didn't seem realistic.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: Gotcha.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: Do you know what I'm saying?
- 26:24Sean McAllister: I I'm I'm getting what you're laying down.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: So I was like, all right, we were like looking at each other, like, what is happening?
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: So anyway, second half, I'm not gonna go on and on because I feel like it can get all all over the place, but I'm not a film reviewer, obviously.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: Second half was really emotional.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Um, I think Austin did an amazing job portraying Elvis as he got a little bit older.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: Elvis was not old in anyway, because he passed away at age 42.
- 26:48Dayna Roselli: So I'm talking when he got more into the like the Elvis in his 30s, you know, that kind of thing.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: Um the Las Vegas part of his career is huge in the second half.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: For a very long, pretty much the second half of the movie, which was amazing.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Uh the International Hotel, his performance there, the stage, the workings of how the show came about.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: You learned so much and how it was a little, you know, sneaky.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: The Colonel, you know, was like, I'm gonna, you know, have Elvis on stage, we're gonna do this stage show and whatever, and it was great, but they were like, Well, now you need to keep him here, and we need to keep him coming back because of the reaction he's getting and how he's filling these seats.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: But Elvis really wanted to travel internationally.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: But the colonel apparently didn't want him traveling internationally because he wanted to get him up on that stage and make money, and also apparently because the colonel had a a lot of gambling debt from throwing a bunch of money into that casino, and they said, Well, if we we'll excuse your gambling debt if you get Elvis up on that stage.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, that's as much as I'm gonna go into that because I don't want to give anything away if you don't know that part of the story, but that comes into play.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: Elvis was overworked, tired, yeah, wasn't doing what he loved.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: He wanted to travel, all sorts of things that just didn't, so that's why apparently a lot of people say the colonel pushed him to his pushed him over the edge.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: Then he felt really um, you know, uh wronged by his manager, the colonel, which was like a family member to him for so many years.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: So, and that's where he kind of went downhill.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: So it's interesting.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: I learned a lot, even more.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: Um, and it was emotional.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Him and Priscilla splitting up was emotional, and uh in Las Vegas plays a huge part.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: So very interesting.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: I think people will enjoy it.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: I just think it's it wasn't the best movie that I've seen.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: And a lot of people say, even in my Facebook post where I commented about it, like it's really hard to put someone who had such an incredible life for a very short amount of time.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: So much happened.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: It's hard to fit it all in a movie.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it just is, and it it's hard to do it right, and maybe no one will ever get it right.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: The only person that can get it right is Elvis himself, and he's not here anymore.
- 29:05Sean McAllister: True.
- 29:05Sean McAllister: So very true.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: That's my two cents.
- 29:07Sean McAllister: Well, I'm sorry that it didn't live up to every every expectation and wild fantasy that you had, because I know you were so looking forward to the movie.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: But I did like some of some of the outfits were great toward the end.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: The leather, the oh yeah, it was great.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: He looked great.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: That was fun.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: I left happy with that.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: So that's uh go see the Elvis movie if you're interested in in knowing more about Elvis' life.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:31Sean McAllister: Well, obviously, Elvis is a classic, and we have another classic that is still sticking around here in Las Vegas, talking about the Sigma Derby horse casino game.
- 29:45Sean McAllister: There is only one left in the entire United States.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: It is right here in Las Vegas, and uh people are celebrating this game, and this has become it it's almost like people make a special trip.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: A special trip to go and play the Sigma Derby game.
- 30:07Sean McAllister: And if you don't know what it is, it is set up like it's like little mechanical horses running around a racetrack.
- 30:13Sean McAllister: Right.
- 30:14Sean McAllister: You don't know which one's gonna win, you have your horse that you hope wins, and you know, you get paid out if your horse wins.
- 30:22Sean McAllister: Um classic, classic game, and uh I didn't realize it was originally created in 1985.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Which I which to me in my mind doesn't signal to me that it's a classic game because I don't want 1985 to be considered classic.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: I know, but you know, the way slots are and all the casino games are now, they're so advanced, and some people just still like to pull the lever.
- 30:49Dayna Roselli: But this is kind of like that.
- 30:50Dayna Roselli: So we didn't mention it's at the D, and they're celebrating uh the 10th anniversary of the property Sigma Derby horse racing game.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: Derek Stevens, the CEO, uh, was on hand to celebrate this.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: Now, apparently, he actually brought this over from the Fitzgerald Hotel and Casino uh when he moved it to the D in 2012, and so it's been there ever since.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: It's the country's only remaining Sigma Derby machine, and it's only 25 cents to play, which I think is cool too.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: And it's also coin operated, which is very rare for Las Vegas.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: So all those things combined, they'd figured, you know what, it's the 10th anniversary, let's celebrate this.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: And so Derek and the D did that.
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: So I didn't even know that they had that there.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: So now I mean I definitely feel like if I'm down on Fremont Street, I'm gonna go to the D and play this game because now I want to do it.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: There's five horses, you pick one, and then it goes from there and you can win.
- 31:40Dayna Roselli: Sounds fun.
- 31:41Sean McAllister: I believe it's on the second level.
- 31:42Sean McAllister: There's there's two there's the the main gaming floor that's you walk in right off of Fremont Street, then you go up the escalator, and there's another gaming floor up there, and they have a lot of other uh coin operated casino games up there, some more classic games kind of surrounding the the Sigma Derby game.
- 32:03Sean McAllister: So that's pretty cool if you want to actually you know hear the clinking of real coins in the casino.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: And then I'm sure just like at the regular horse races, like everyone picks their horse, right?
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: And then everyone's probably cheering on their horse, so it's probably fun to watch.
- 32:17Sean McAllister: It is, it's very fun to watch, and people are definitely invested in the outcome of the game.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: Love that.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: Um, we've been busy doing a lot of other things as well, so we'll get to that maybe next podcast.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: We've been on a lot of shoots for Vegas on, and we'll talk more about some of those and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff we've been doing.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: Um, but Vegas is still kicking.
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: It is July officially.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: It is hot here, it is over a hundred, so keep that in mind.
- 32:43Dayna Roselli: But why don't we get to some tips?
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: Because it has to do with pool season, Sean.
- 32:50Sean McAllister: And you know, everybody, when it's a hundred plus degrees, you need a place to cool off.
- 32:56Sean McAllister: And there's no better place to cool off than a great resort pool.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: And for Las Vegas locals, the Palms is now making it even easier, and they're really enticing Las Vegas locals to come out to their pool.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's called Soak, okay?
- 33:14Dayna Roselli: So, and it's like a multi-level pool area they have at the at the Palms.
- 33:17Dayna Roselli: They just redid it before, you know, when it closed and now it's reopened under new owners, but now they're ready to go.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: The pool is open, and they have food and beverage, and apparently they have music and DJs and all sorts of stuff that you would expect at any resort pool.
- 33:33Dayna Roselli: Um, so what they're doing is every week, Monday through Thursday, locals get free entry into Soak.
- 33:40Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of fun.
- 33:40Dayna Roselli: If you want to go hit a pool, people always ask, it's one of the top questions we get, I think, is summer approaches is like what pools are free for locals?
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: And some you can get into, some you cannot, which, you know, understandable that the guests come first.
- 33:55Sean McAllister: And if you recall, a few episodes ago, uh, just as the Palms was reopening, we spoke with uh Cynthia Kaiser Murphy, who is the general manager over at the Palms.
- 34:04Sean McAllister: And Dana, you specifically asked, are there going to be any deals for locals out at the pool?
- 34:10Sean McAllister: And she was like, stay tuned, we're working on something, and guess what?
- 34:14Sean McAllister: That something is here.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: So I love it.
- 34:17Dayna Roselli: And also 25% off um day bets based on availability, too.
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: So you get in free, and again, that's Monday through Thursday, and then Friday through Sunday, and Sean, I feel like this is a good deal too.
- 34:29Dayna Roselli: Entry for locals to the soap pool is 15 bucks.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: So that's doable.
- 34:33Sean McAllister: That is, it's a nominal fee to get in, be able to spend the day at a great pool, and have 25% off, you know, day beds as well.
- 34:44Sean McAllister: That's that's a nice, a nice perk as well.
- 34:47Dayna Roselli: They're also doing dip Fridays, some themed kind of events at the pool.
- 34:52Dayna Roselli: So uh keep your eyes open for that.
- 34:55Dayna Roselli: They've got this like rubber ducky celebration happening this weekend that they're doing from 1 p.m.
- 35:00Dayna Roselli: to 7 p.m., where the East Pool is gonna be pil filled with all these rubber duckies and marked for prizes.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: Isn't that fun?
- 35:07Dayna Roselli: Like you get one and then you see what you get.
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: They have uh food and drink items as well, um, special entertainment, DJs, the normal food and drink, and apparently entries free for everyone to that, to the the themed kind of dip Fridays.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: Um other themed parties they have coming up: Super Soaked, Tiki Paradise, Cowboy Boots and Bathing Suits, and Pirates and Mermaids.
- 35:31Sean McAllister: Oh, that'll be an interesting one.
- 35:33Dayna Roselli: So lots of fun if you want to go to Dip Fridays.
- 35:35Sean McAllister: Very cool.
- 35:36Sean McAllister: And as we mentioned, a great way to cool off in the uh Vegas summer heat.
- 35:43Sean McAllister: Um, and Dana, this is kind of a uh throwback.
- 35:46Sean McAllister: The next tip uh that you have is kind of a classic Vegas dining spot in a new location.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: So I just I didn't know about this, and I can't believe I didn't know about this, but um so you and I are gonna have to go check it out.
- 36:02Dayna Roselli: FYI, we have not checked it out yet, but we plan to because it's actually kind of close to our side of town.
- 36:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, and we hear that it's delicious.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: Delicious.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about Vicky's Diner.
- 36:12Dayna Roselli: So Vicky's Diner used to be on uh Las Vegas Boulevard, kind of like n around the stratosphere, there's that White Cross drugstore that's a very famous drugstore that has kind of a cool sign on the outside.
- 36:25Dayna Roselli: It's very, I don't know, what should call it 50s looking.
- 36:27Dayna Roselli: It's been in a lot of different movies and music videos.
- 36:31Dayna Roselli: That closed, and Vicki's diner used to be in that building on the corner.
- 36:35Dayna Roselli: So Vicky had to move.
- 36:36Dayna Roselli: And a year ago, she moved the diner, which I didn't even realize, to commercial center on East Sahara.
- 36:42Dayna Roselli: And the diner's been there for a year now, and it's a 50s themed diner, which I think is cool.
- 36:47Dayna Roselli: I was looking at some pictures.
- 36:48Dayna Roselli: They got like pink booths and pinked counter chairs, and you can watch all the cooks doing their thing.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: And the reason I learned about it is uh a new resident in my building was telling me about it, and he was like, Oh, you've never been to Vicki's?
- 36:59Dayna Roselli: And I was like, No, what are you talking about?
- 37:01Dayna Roselli: It's right down the road.
- 37:02Dayna Roselli: So he was saying, like, the bacon is delicious.
- 37:05Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, you know, it's not like repurposed bacon, like they they make it and fresh, and they're great at like adding whatever you want to your breakfast.
- 37:15Dayna Roselli: He said, like, if you want some extra onions, you tell them you want some extra onions, they put it in there for you.
- 37:20Dayna Roselli: He loves the service, said the breakfast is delicious.
- 37:23Dayna Roselli: I think I looked it up.
- 37:24Dayna Roselli: It's only open till I think 2 30 every day because it's a breakfast-ish, lunch, brunch place.
- 37:29Dayna Roselli: But we have to go, and apparently it's great.
- 37:32Dayna Roselli: And it's right there east of the strip, not too far from the strip, really.
- 37:36Dayna Roselli: It's East Sahara and Commercial Center where there's a lot of famous things over there.
- 37:42Dayna Roselli: A theater Lotus of Siam and some other Thai restaurants and um jewelers and all sorts of stuff.
- 37:49Dayna Roselli: Um, so anyway, Vicky's Diner.
- 37:51Dayna Roselli: If you're interested in checking out, and I feel like a lot of our even tourists that come to Las Vegas, they love a good breakfast.
- 37:59Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 37:59Dayna Roselli: But they don't want to sometimes go like super, super fancy.
- 38:03Dayna Roselli: They just want to go get a real breakfast with a little bit of fun.
- 38:06Dayna Roselli: Pepper Mill is always a popular place, and now Vicky's Diner, I just learned about.
- 38:10Sean McAllister: I think we're gonna have to go and and m venture over there pretty soon, though.
- 38:14Sean McAllister: I think we've got to be able to do that.
- 38:15Sean McAllister: Because once people hear this tip, I have a feeling Vicky's is going to be a very, very popular place.
- 38:22Dayna Roselli: Where was I recently where I texted you and I said, Oh, I went to the uh the Indian restaurant?
- 38:28Sean McAllister: Yes, that's right.
- 38:29Dayna Roselli: Clover Clover, I'm blanking on the name.
- 38:31Dayna Roselli: Recently.
- 38:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:32Dayna Roselli: And it was packed.
- 38:33Dayna Roselli: And I said when we mentioned this as a tip the last time I went, it was not packed.
- 38:38Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Did our tip bring the people in?
- 38:40Dayna Roselli: Should we start getting back?
- 38:42Sean McAllister: Is there a Vegas revealed effect at play here?
- 38:45Dayna Roselli: The Vegas Revealed Effect.
- 38:48Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 38:49Dayna Roselli: Speaking of that, it's down on South Rainbow.
- 38:51Dayna Roselli: Had another great meal there.
- 38:52Dayna Roselli: It it is a great Indian restaurant.
- 38:54Dayna Roselli: So if you want to check that out too.
- 38:56Dayna Roselli: Little reminder there, but that's a podcast.

- 39:01Dayna Roselli: Uh well, Fourth of July is here.
- 39:02Dayna Roselli: We'll have all that kind of thing.
- 39:04Dayna Roselli: Or there's a lot coming up in the next couple weeks.
- 39:06Dayna Roselli: I think things have kind of been on pause because of Fourth of July, but we have a lot of different events.
- 39:10Dayna Roselli: I know Thunder from Down Under is celebrating its 20th anniversary over there at the Excalibur.
- 39:15Dayna Roselli: So congratulations to them.
- 39:17Dayna Roselli: Believe they're getting a key to the strip or key to the city as well over at the Las Vegas sign.
- 39:23Dayna Roselli: There's some new uh there's a Mexican restaurant opening at Palace Station that we'll talk about.
- 39:29Dayna Roselli: So love to see Palace Station getting new things.
- 39:33Dayna Roselli: And I don't know, can't think of anything else, but we have a full inbox.
- 39:36Sean McAllister: There is.
- 39:37Sean McAllister: I was just I was trying to mentally go through the inbox, but I saw you concentrating.
- 39:45Sean McAllister: It's funny that I have a look when I'm concentrating.
- 39:50Dayna Roselli: Well, um, you enjoy the rest of your weekend with your sister who's in town, and we'll see everyone.
- 39:56Dayna Roselli: Well, we won't really see you, but we'll be back with you.
