Latest / The Epstein Chronicles / Mark Epstein Has His Doubts About The Official Narrative Surrounding His Brothers Demise
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:05Speaker 1: According to Jeffrey Epstein's brother, Mark Epstein, well, Epstein didn't
- 0:10Speaker 1: kill himself. Mark Epstein believes that Jeffrey Epstein did not
- 0:14Speaker 1: commit suicide while he was in jail and he says
- 0:16Speaker 1: that the evidence, or lack thereof, that's been provided to
- 0:20Speaker 1: him by the federal government backs it up. Now look,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I don't know what happened in that jail cell. What
- 0:26Speaker 1: I do know is that the official narrative that we've
- 0:28Speaker 1: all been pitched, the official narrative that they've served us up,
- 0:32Speaker 1: doesn't seem to me to be very logical. And when
- 0:37Speaker 1: you look at all of the issues that surround Jeffrey
- 0:39Speaker 1: Epstein's death inside the lockup, I don't know how anyone
- 0:42Speaker 1: could be confident with the official narrative that we've all
- 0:45Speaker 1: been pitched. Because from where I'm sitting, it's a bunch
- 0:48Speaker 1: of BS. And the whole entire OIG report, what did
- 0:52Speaker 1: it really tell us? We went through it, line by line,
- 0:56Speaker 1: Was there anything in there that said to you, oh yeah,
- 0:59Speaker 1: here's that smoking gun we've all been looking for? Because
- 1:02Speaker 1: when I read the OIG report, all I saw was
- 1:05Speaker 1: a bunch of narrative building and reliance on what Bill
- 1:09Speaker 1: Barr had to tell us. And I don't know about
- 1:11Speaker 1: you folks, but I'm not really in the business of
- 1:14Speaker 1: believing what Bill Barr has to say. So let's dive
- 1:18Speaker 1: into this article from the New York Post and let's
- 1:21Speaker 1: see what Jeffrey Epstein's brother Mark has to say. Headline,
- 1:25Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's brother lists the evidence he claims feds are
- 1:29Speaker 1: covering up about pedophile's death. This article was authored by
- 1:33Speaker 1: Andy Tillett. Despite being the most high-profile prisoner in the U.S.,
- 1:38Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in federal custody at the
- 1:41Speaker 1: Manhattan Correction Center in New York on August 10, 2019.
- 1:46Speaker 1: The financier, pedophile, waiting trial on charges of sex-trafficking underage
- 1:50Speaker 1: girls was found in his cell just after 6.30 a.m.,
- 1:54Speaker 1: having apparently used a length of orange bed sheet tied
- 1:57Speaker 1: to the cell's bunk bed to hang himself. Uh, okay,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I guess, if you want to buy that shit. Have
- 2:04Speaker 1: you seen the pictures? Hang himself is a bit generous.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You mean tie it around his throat and lean forward, right?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Because that's exactly what he did. If you're believing the narrative,
- 2:14Speaker 1: that's how he killed himself. Throughout the previous night, cameras
- 2:19Speaker 1: in the secure housing unit where Epstein was being held
- 2:22Speaker 1: weren't recording, prison guard slept and Epstein was left without
- 2:25Speaker 1: a cellmate despite prison psychologist's direct orders. I'm sure all
- 2:31Speaker 1: of that was just, you know, coincidence and mistake. None
- 2:35Speaker 1: of it had anything to do with the overarching problem
- 2:38Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein being so connected. Then Attorney General Bill
- 2:42Speaker 1: Barr would later call the situation a perfect storm of screw-ups.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Who got fired for it? Who went to jail for it?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Who was held accountable for it? Oh, that's right, nobody.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Within a week, a medical examiner had ruled the death
- 2:55Speaker 1: a suicide, meaning no further investigation was required. Pretty convenient, no? Eventually,
- 3:02Speaker 1: a 128-page report was produced by the Department of Justice,
- 3:06Speaker 1: which concluded prison staff made errors and blamed long-standing operational
- 3:10Speaker 1: challenges for Epstein's death. Challenges that haven't been addressed, challenges
- 3:15Speaker 1: that haven't been fixed, so like I told you then,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'll tell you now. All of that was window-dressing. That
- 3:22Speaker 1: whole entire report was nothing more than narrative building. However,
- 3:27Speaker 1: some have consistently challenged the official version of events, including
- 3:30Speaker 1: Epstein's brother Mark69, who was campaigning for more information to
- 3:34Speaker 1: be made public, including video from the cell block. All
- 3:38Speaker 1: of it should be made public. There's no reason that
- 3:40Speaker 1: any of this stuff should be kept under wraps at
- 3:42Speaker 1: this point. We're not talking about national security here. We're
- 3:45Speaker 1: not talking about somebody who's hiding state secrets about a
- 3:49Speaker 1: new program we're building. This is a man who was
- 3:52Speaker 1: diddling little kids, a man who was trafficking girls and women,
- 3:55Speaker 1: a man who should be exposed fully. And whatever happened
- 3:58Speaker 1: in that jail cell, it happened on our dime. So
- 4:00Speaker 1: the taxpayers should be entitled to see exactly what went down.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I only want to look at facts, but when we
- 4:06Speaker 1: consider the facts available, we get more questions. The property
- 4:09Speaker 1: developer told the Post, There appears to have been no
- 4:12Speaker 1: investigation once it was ruled a suicide. They saw no
- 4:16Speaker 1: reason to dig deeper. It seems like a cover-up. Why
- 4:19Speaker 1: can't I find his pre-hospital care report and why can't
- 4:22Speaker 1: I get the 911 call? And how did 4chan break
- 4:24Speaker 1: the story 38 minutes before it broke on ABC? There's
- 4:28Speaker 1: another question for you. The following is a compilation of
- 4:32Speaker 1: publicly available information about Epstein's death as well as findings
- 4:35Speaker 1: from Mark's four-year investigation. The autopsy. Two medical examiners were
- 4:41Speaker 1: present for Epstein's autopsy, Dr. Kristen Roman and Dr. Michael Bodden.
- 4:46Speaker 1: The latter was sent by Mark to independently oversee the procedure.
- 4:51Speaker 1: They agreed to list the manner of death as pending,
- 4:54Speaker 1: saying further investigation was required. That, however, was overruled a
- 4:58Speaker 1: week later by New York Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson,
- 5:02Speaker 1: who changed it to suicide. Sampson said she had seen
- 5:06Speaker 1: additional evidence, but has never said what that evidence was.
- 5:10Speaker 1: So again, you want to just believe the state? You
- 5:13Speaker 1: want to believe what she has to say? I mean,
- 5:16Speaker 1: that's fine and well, but I'm a trust but verify
- 5:18Speaker 1: kind of guy, especially in a situation such as this.
- 5:22Speaker 1: If you have other evidence that you've seen, other evidence
- 5:24Speaker 1: that says for sure it's a suicide, let us see it.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You want to kill all this nonsense? You want to
- 5:30Speaker 1: kill the Epstein didn't kill himself stuff? Well, here's how
- 5:33Speaker 1: you do it. A little bit of evidence showing us
- 5:35Speaker 1: that you're telling the truth. Bodden said Epstein had two
- 5:39Speaker 1: breaks on each side of his thyroid cartilage near his
- 5:42Speaker 1: Adam's apple and and one above it on the left
- 5:45Speaker 1: side of his hyoid bone, which were extremely unusual in
- 5:48Speaker 1: suicidal hangings, and could occur much more commonly in homicidal strangulation.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Bodden added, I've not seen in 50 years where that
- 5:58Speaker 1: occurred in a suicidal hanging case. So there's going to
- 6:00Speaker 1: be people out there that are critics of Dr. Michael Bodden,
- 6:04Speaker 1: say that he's a attention seeker, that he's a hound
- 6:08Speaker 1: looking for glory, all that. And you know what? Some
- 6:11Speaker 1: of it's probably true. But does that mean we should
- 6:13Speaker 1: just discount what he had to say? In my opinion,
- 6:16Speaker 1: it doesn't. And I think that this could all be
- 6:19Speaker 1: cleared up real quick if the state would just do
- 6:21Speaker 1: the right thing and turn everything over. There is no
- 6:24Speaker 1: reason for this information to be hidden. There is no
- 6:27Speaker 1: reason for this not to be transparent. In addition, no
- 6:31Speaker 1: photo was taken of the position of Epstein's body when
- 6:34Speaker 1: he was found, which multiple medical examiners have agreed is
- 6:37Speaker 1: a key piece of evidence to determining exactly how he died.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Autopsy photos show the marks on Epstein's throat from the
- 6:45Speaker 1: ligature were in the middle to lower portion of the
- 6:48Speaker 1: neck and straight, not raised and pointing toward the side
- 6:51Speaker 1: and back of the throat in a way more consistent
- 6:54Speaker 1: with hanging. So this whole thing, from the very beginning,
- 6:58Speaker 1: has been in question as far as I'm concerned. And
- 7:00Speaker 1: the fact that there were so many missteps after Epstein
- 7:03Speaker 1: died here by the jail, the jail staff, the sergeant,
- 7:06Speaker 1: the lieutenant, everybody involved, makes you really, really start scratching
- 7:10Speaker 1: your head and asking yourself, was it all just a
- 7:13Speaker 1: giant screw-up, or is there something else going on here?
- 7:18Speaker 1: Epstein's Cell The Department of Justice investigation into Epstein's death
- 7:22Speaker 1: says he was found suspended from the top bunk in
- 7:25Speaker 1: a near-seated position with his buttocks approximately one inch to
- 7:29Speaker 1: one inch and a half off the floor and his
- 7:31Speaker 1: legs in front of him. This means that most of
- 7:33Speaker 1: his body weight was hanging on the ligature around his neck.
- 7:36Speaker 1: The guard who found him, Michael Thomas, claimed both that
- 7:39Speaker 1: he ripped the sheet and that he cut it, then
- 7:42Speaker 1: began chest compressions until prison medics arrived. Two nooses were
- 7:46Speaker 1: found in the cell, according to CBS show 60 Minutes.
- 7:50Speaker 1: All of it's funky. Every last bit of this is funky.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And the fact that we still don't know what happened
- 7:55Speaker 1: in that cell all these years later is unacceptable. The
- 7:58Speaker 1: noose taken in as evidence was not the one that
- 8:01Speaker 1: the prison guard ripped or cut to free from Epstein's body.
- 8:05Speaker 1: The submitted and photographed noose was a whole piece of
- 8:08Speaker 1: cloth with hemmed edges and no staining or fluids, despite
- 8:12Speaker 1: allegedly being around Epstein's neck when he died. In photos
- 8:16Speaker 1: of Epstein's cell, his sleep apnea machine can be seen,
- 8:19Speaker 1: which Mark points out, has an electrical cord that would
- 8:22Speaker 1: have been easier to use to hang himself than a sheet.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I said that at the beginning too. If you're going
- 8:27Speaker 1: to hang yourself, why not use an electrical cord? Seems
- 8:30Speaker 1: like the better option. EMTs who attended the scene were
- 8:35Speaker 1: not interviewed, which is standard protocol in such cases. Especially
- 8:39Speaker 1: in high-profile cases, EMTs and hospital staff are interviewed by police,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but in this case, none were. In addition, pre-hospital care
- 8:47Speaker 1: report for Epstein can't be found, according to hospital staff.
- 8:51Speaker 1: All just a coincidence, at least according to the government.
- 8:55Speaker 1: The autopsy showed Epstein was dead for at least two
- 8:57Speaker 1: hours before he was found, and possibly up to six hours. However,
- 9:01Speaker 1: despite clearly being deceased, he was transferred to a hospital
- 9:05Speaker 1: and placed in a hospital gown on a gurney. So
- 9:09Speaker 1: why would you do that? The man's been dead for
- 9:11Speaker 1: up to six hours. You know that he's been dead,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but you're going to put him on a gurney and
- 9:15Speaker 1: put him in a hospital gown? What are you trying
- 9:17Speaker 1: to do? Have a little weekend at Bernie's party with
- 9:20Speaker 1: your boy Jeffrey? The whole thing is absurd and disgusting. Meanwhile,
- 9:25Speaker 1: the 911 call made from the prison and its content
- 9:28Speaker 1: has also never been released. On July 23rd, while Epstein
- 9:34Speaker 1: was in jail, guards were called to the cell he
- 9:36Speaker 1: shared with former cop and now convicted killer of four,
- 9:39Speaker 1: Nicholas Tartaglione, due to an incident where he had sustained
- 9:43Speaker 1: neck injuries. Following the incident, Epstein told prison staff he
- 9:47Speaker 1: had been attacked by a cellmate. He later said he
- 9:50Speaker 1: did not remember how he got the injuries and he
- 9:52Speaker 1: refused to speak further about it. After the incident on
- 9:56Speaker 1: July 30th, the prison psychology department said Epstein must have
- 10:00Speaker 1: a cellmate at all times and was to be monitored.
- 10:03Speaker 1: This is one of the key things that happened in
- 10:05Speaker 1: that cell. The fact that he was even in a
- 10:07Speaker 1: cell with Tartaglione in the first place. He should have
- 10:10Speaker 1: never been in that cell with Tartaglione and questions need
- 10:13Speaker 1: to be answered why a man who was facing four homicides,
- 10:17Speaker 1: was put into a cell with one of the most
- 10:20Speaker 1: high-profile prisoners in the whole country. Shouldn't Jeffrey Epstein be
- 10:24Speaker 1: put in the cell with a snitch? Why are you
- 10:26Speaker 1: putting him in the cell with Nicholas Tartaglione? And then,
- 10:30Speaker 1: when Epstein says Tartaglione attacked him, they're going to act
- 10:33Speaker 1: like it didn't happen? Oh, but we lost the video
- 10:36Speaker 1: of the cell that day. We have no idea. We're
- 10:38Speaker 1: just going to believe Nicholas Tartaglione. Sounds like narrative building
- 10:42Speaker 1: to me. And look, I am more than willing to
- 10:45Speaker 1: believe The new cellmate, Efren Stone Reyes, was assigned but
- 10:48Speaker 1: transferred out of MCC to another facility less than 24
- 10:50Speaker 1: hours before Epstein's death. Reyes told his family Epstein seemed
- 11:06Speaker 1: depressed and didn't want to live anymore, according to the
- 11:09Speaker 1: New York Daily News, who also quoted other inmates who
- 11:13Speaker 1: said Epstein was saying he's going to kill himself because
- 11:16Speaker 1: the government is trying to kill him anyway. And I've
- 11:20Speaker 1: said it once and I'll say it again. Was Tartaglione
- 11:23Speaker 1: put in that cell with Epstein to pass on a message? Look, buddy,
- 11:26Speaker 1: this is what's going to happen to you unless you
- 11:28Speaker 1: do it to yourself. Again, that's just speculation. I don't
- 11:31Speaker 1: know for sure. Nobody does. But Nicholas Tartaglione at this point,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and my guess is Tat-Tat, as they used to call
- 11:38Speaker 1: him in the old neighborhood, has no desire to talk
- 11:41Speaker 1: about what happened in that jail cell. Video evidence from
- 11:44Speaker 1: the night of Epstein's death was limited. According to the
- 11:47Speaker 1: Department of Justice investigation, recorded video evidence for August 9th
- 11:51Speaker 1: and 10th for the shoe area where Epstein was housed
- 11:55Speaker 1: was only available from one prison security camera due to
- 11:58Speaker 1: a malfunction of MCC, New York's digital video recorder system.
- 12:03Speaker 1: all that money that's being paid in taxes, and the
- 12:06Speaker 1: cameras don't even work? However, it also notes between approximately 10.40pm
- 12:11Speaker 1: on August 9th and 6.30am on August 10th, no one
- 12:15Speaker 1: was seen entering Epstein's cell tier from the shoe common area.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Despite Freedom of Information Act's request being filed, the footage
- 12:22Speaker 1: from the working camera, particularly showing when Epstein's body was
- 12:26Speaker 1: removed from the tier in the morning, has never been
- 12:28Speaker 1: released to the public. And they say it's an ongoing investigation. No,
- 12:32Speaker 1: it's not. That's what they say to make sure that
- 12:35Speaker 1: they don't have to turn the goods over to the public.
- 12:38Speaker 1: The Sleeping Guards Prison guards Tova Noel and Michael Thomas
- 12:42Speaker 1: were stationed 15 feet from Epstein's cell. However, they fell
- 12:46Speaker 1: asleep and did not check on prisoners in the secure
- 12:49Speaker 1: housing unit at all on August 9th, the night that
- 12:52Speaker 1: Epstein died. They later admitted to falsifying records, which they
- 12:56Speaker 1: said had completed the checks. Both were federally indicted, but
- 13:01Speaker 1: struck a deal whereby, in exchange for admitting their guilt
- 13:04Speaker 1: and cooperating with a federal probe into Epstein's death, the
- 13:08Speaker 1: charges were dropped, so nobody was held accountable. There was
- 13:12Speaker 1: nobody that was brought up and put in jail, nothing.
- 13:15Speaker 1: So why would anyone do anything different the next time around?
- 13:18Speaker 1: And what's the point of having that OIG report if
- 13:22Speaker 1: the issues aren't going to be addressed? Neither has ever
- 13:25Speaker 1: spoken publicly about what happened that night or with Epstein.
- 13:29Speaker 1: The indictment against the officers also lists the presence of
- 13:32Speaker 1: two other prison guards, Officer 1 and Officer 2, who
- 13:35Speaker 1: were also on duty during at least part of their
- 13:37Speaker 1: shift and were supposed to accompany Noel on her rounds.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Their identities have never been released. Mark says he has
- 13:45Speaker 1: nothing to gain from his brother's death. He was not
- 13:47Speaker 1: part of the will and has incurred legal fees and
- 13:50Speaker 1: had to spend money to protect his family since 2019.
- 13:55Speaker 1: They had a hearing which was coming up a few
- 13:57Speaker 1: days after his death to appeal the bail restrictions. Why
- 14:00Speaker 1: would Jeffrey kill himself a few days before the hearing?
- 14:03Speaker 1: Because if he got bail, he'd be out of jail,
- 14:05Speaker 1: a waiting child in his house with an ankle monitor,
- 14:08Speaker 1: he told investigative journalist Declan Hill on his Crime Wave podcast.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Why kill yourself then? If bail was denied again, then
- 14:15Speaker 1: I could understand it. Believe me, it would have been
- 14:18Speaker 1: easier if the pathologist had come out and said it
- 14:20Speaker 1: looks like a suicide. Then I could put the whole
- 14:23Speaker 1: issue behind me, he added. And for me, there needs
- 14:26Speaker 1: to be some transparency here. They need to really release
- 14:31Speaker 1: all the information they have, any video, all of it.
- 14:34Speaker 1: That way people can get a good look for themselves
- 14:36Speaker 1: and then decide if they think that Epstein killed himself
- 14:39Speaker 1: or if Jeffrey Epstein was killed. But without all of
- 14:43Speaker 1: the evidence, without all of the context, the questions surrounding
- 14:46Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's death will continue to hang in the air.
- 14:49Speaker 1: All right, folks, that's going to do it for this one.
- 14:54Speaker 1: All of the information that goes with this episode can
- 14:56Speaker 1: be found in the description box.
