- 0:40Speaker 1: Welcome back to another episode of Kicking with Kiki, Life,
- 0:43Speaker 1: love and all that other ship. I am your host,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Kiki Chanel. Y'all should know that by now were in
- 0:48Speaker 1: season eight. I have a regular today, Tim. You know
- 0:52Speaker 1: you done been on every season except for season seven. Right, Yes,
- 0:57Speaker 1: tell the people they should know you by now, But
- 0:59Speaker 1: in case.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Stay, don't.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Just tell them who you are or what you do.
- 1:04Speaker 2: For those who don't know, Boy, Tim host of the
- 1:08Speaker 2: Real Talk with Tim podcast. Listen, I'm in season eight
- 1:11Speaker 2: as well. You know my podcast. We talk about everything,
- 1:15Speaker 2: no conversations left unspoken. We talk about a little bit
- 1:19Speaker 2: of everything. Relationships, love, life, fatherhood, reactions. I'm doing reactions
- 1:24Speaker 2: now to all the crazy shit that happened on the internet.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Y'all know how it goes. So yeah. Oh, but I
- 1:31Speaker 2: did have my long layoff too, so I want to
- 1:34Speaker 2: thank you. Keith for bringing me back on because listen,
- 1:38Speaker 2: we got unfinished business, and that's exactly the title of
- 1:42Speaker 2: my season.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Okay, nice, I'm finished business.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I like that.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I like that. So we can get into everything, like,
- 1:49Speaker 3: how was the hiatus? I know you took us some time,
- 1:52Speaker 3: you know, to refocus, regroup, had a lot of life
- 1:55Speaker 3: stuff going on, So how was the yatis?
- 1:57Speaker 2: That's That's pretty much all it was. I just had
- 1:59Speaker 2: to focused on everything. And y'all gonna hear in the
- 2:03Speaker 2: first episode that come out March first, y'all gonna hear
- 2:06Speaker 2: me talk about everything. But I just had to. I
- 2:08Speaker 2: had to do a whole lot of self reflection on
- 2:11Speaker 2: myself and my podcast. I had to think about, you know,
- 2:14Speaker 2: what direction I wanted to go now? Because at some point,
- 2:18Speaker 2: you know, when you're doing this or any type of
- 2:20Speaker 2: content creation, at some point you get to you get
- 2:24Speaker 2: you get to a point in your uh, in your
- 2:27Speaker 2: career where you're like, man, what now, you know what
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm saying or what else I'm gonna talk about? Now?
- 2:31Speaker 2: What direction I'm going now? Because we can't keep recording
- 2:35Speaker 2: episodes forever, so at some point it's like, what I'm
- 2:38Speaker 2: gonna do now? Like with you, Kiki, you know you
- 2:39Speaker 2: an author, you can write books, you write magazines. You
- 2:42Speaker 2: know you can do this, do that. You know you
- 2:45Speaker 2: gotta you gotta have for everything, And for me myself,
- 2:48Speaker 2: for the most part, the only had our ward was
- 2:51Speaker 2: just podcasting. So I always mentioned here and then that
- 2:55Speaker 2: it's just the foundation for me because you know, I'm versatile,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I can I want to do other things though, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 2: I want to put a book out, I want to
- 3:04Speaker 2: showcase my acting skills, I want to do the talk
- 3:07Speaker 2: show host thing. I want to do a little bit
- 3:09Speaker 2: of everything. So hopefully with this podcast and putting episodes
- 3:14Speaker 2: and my voice out did and open up doors to
- 3:17Speaker 2: a lot of those things.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, And so you're moving at it the right way.
- 3:22Speaker 1: You have that mindset of growth. You don't have that
- 3:25Speaker 1: scarcity or lack mentality like some people get complacent and
- 3:29Speaker 1: just feel like, Okay, I'm good right here, it's comfortable.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I don't like change, I don't want to grow, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: you ain't never been like that.
- 3:35Speaker 2: So yeah, well, I ain't gonna lie though, Like I
- 3:39Speaker 2: felt like that for a little bit. I felt like
- 3:43Speaker 2: it's not that I didn't want changes that like I
- 3:46Speaker 2: was scared to do something. You know how they say
- 3:49Speaker 2: dare to be great? Right, Like I was scared to
- 3:51Speaker 2: do something new because what I was already doing was
- 3:56Speaker 2: working real well. So I was like, dang, what if
- 3:58Speaker 2: I do this and it don't work? See what I'm saying. So,
- 4:01Speaker 2: like I mentioned a bunch of times already like this
- 4:05Speaker 2: new my new social media page for Instagram. Right when
- 4:08Speaker 2: I remade that page, it was hard to get my
- 4:11Speaker 2: followers back. Oh yeah, and like so and people say
- 4:15Speaker 2: they don't pay attention to the followers and all this
- 4:18Speaker 2: and all that, But I say, that's that's the most
- 4:21Speaker 2: important thing because that just me and you got more
- 4:23Speaker 2: eyes on your stuff, more eyes on your content, more
- 4:27Speaker 2: ears listen to your content. Because just imagine trying to
- 4:30Speaker 2: push a podcast or promote your social media and you
- 4:34Speaker 2: got twenty followers. Yeah, that's twenty people, but like, come on,
- 4:38Speaker 2: let's be real. But if you have seven thousand, you
- 4:42Speaker 2: see what I'm saying. You got seven thousand people to impress.
- 4:46Speaker 2: You got seven thousand people to impress, which is a
- 4:48Speaker 2: better chance and just trying to you know what I'm saying,
- 4:51Speaker 2: and press twenty people, it's still the same thing. But
- 4:53Speaker 2: you know, seven and twenty two different numbers obviously, but
- 4:57Speaker 2: I was in a place where I was like, man,
- 4:59Speaker 2: I don't know this is gonna work. But and it's
- 5:01Speaker 2: not that I ain't even gonna use the word scared.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I was never scared to do anything. I'm never scared
- 5:06Speaker 2: to do nothing. But it's just like it's more so
- 5:08Speaker 2: like man, I hope this thing work or I don't
- 5:11Speaker 2: think this will work or something like that. I don't know.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's it's crazy, this whole this whole thing crazy.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but I get exactly what you're saying, like I
- 5:19Speaker 1: want to do more, but what's working. If it don't,
- 5:21Speaker 1: if it's not broke, don't fix it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah I did.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But I agree with those followers because I started my
- 5:27Speaker 1: media page and trying to get the people that follow
- 5:30Speaker 1: you on your other page to cross over. It's like
- 5:33Speaker 1: pulling teeth, Like, nah, I already follow you on some
- 5:36Speaker 1: I don't share the same content on both my pages though,
- 5:39Speaker 1: you know.
- 5:39Speaker 2: What I had to do a lot of times I
- 5:42Speaker 2: direct I DM people directly, like I literally, like like
- 5:47Speaker 2: just the other day, I went to my old real
- 5:49Speaker 2: Talk with ten page because it's still up. It's still up.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So I went to the page, I went to the followers,
- 5:56Speaker 2: and now everybody that I knew or recognized, I DM
- 6:00Speaker 2: all them one by one by one by one, because
- 6:04Speaker 2: I always say that it's people are Look. I love people,
- 6:07Speaker 2: but people are slow. Sometimes you gotta hold they hand.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You gotta hold their hand because you can't just like
- 6:13Speaker 2: you can't just like message people or not even just
- 6:17Speaker 2: mess with You can't just post something and sit and
- 6:20Speaker 2: think people want to see it. Because a lot of times,
- 6:23Speaker 2: and I guarantee you, you and I do this too
- 6:24Speaker 2: when we get on our social media pages. It don't
- 6:27Speaker 2: even got to be our podcast pages. It could be
- 6:29Speaker 2: a personal pages whatever. I can guarantee you eighty percent
- 6:33Speaker 2: of people do this. They scroll for a minute like this.
- 6:36Speaker 2: They keep this with people do they scroll like this?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Just keep you. But that's just the mindset of people now,
- 6:44Speaker 2: Like I don't know if it's I don't know if
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's people saying to themselves like same shit, every day,
- 6:48Speaker 2: same But that's crazy. And see what I say in
- 6:53Speaker 2: my first episode. When I come back, I tell myself,
- 6:55Speaker 2: I say, I feel like another statistic because everybody got
- 6:59Speaker 2: a podcasts, everybody getting a podcast.
- 7:04Speaker 3: So but but it's only you it's only one you.
- 7:06Speaker 2: That it's only one me. But the point I'm trying
- 7:09Speaker 2: to make it is like it's like, all right, I'm
- 7:12Speaker 2: just another My podcast is just another podcast. But I
- 7:16Speaker 2: just gotta make it stand out. I gotta make it
- 7:19Speaker 2: stand out to the people who do this, yep. Like
- 7:22Speaker 2: that's that's why they have things like promoting and stuff
- 7:25Speaker 2: like that. But how can you promote when you gotta
- 7:27Speaker 2: if you ain't using the right hashtags or the right
- 7:31Speaker 2: tagging the right people. And even if you do tag people, man,
- 7:35Speaker 2: it's like they like, you know, but I say a
- 7:39Speaker 2: whole lot of things in my first episode when I
- 7:41Speaker 2: when I when you're all here March first, man, oh
- 7:43Speaker 2: my god, Like I kind of snapped a little bit.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Hey, sometimes it needs to be said. Sometimes you need
- 7:50Speaker 3: to be said.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But you know, and in the in the creativity realm,
- 7:55Speaker 1: it's all about who you know, and it's all about
- 7:59Speaker 1: the people that said the top. They're not pulling us,
- 8:01Speaker 1: the little people that put into the work, that got
- 8:04Speaker 1: the episodes to proven and stuff like that. They getting
- 8:07Speaker 1: other people that that's that's into the fame part. Like
- 8:10Speaker 1: they got eyes on it, and I get it. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: totally understand. But it's like somebody that's making a difference,
- 8:16Speaker 1: that's giving people of voices, that's sharing episodes, that's about
- 8:20Speaker 1: real reality and being truthful talking because you know, you're
- 8:25Speaker 1: talking about life as a girl, girl as a girl, Dad,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you're getting wrong with stuff about that you.
- 8:31Speaker 3: So yeah, it's just it's a catch twenty.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I got five of those, by the way, y'all five
- 8:36Speaker 2: of those, and actually one of one of those, one
- 8:40Speaker 2: of them, I think it's the the first one, one
- 8:44Speaker 2: of them, I think is my most played episode ever
- 8:47Speaker 2: though mm hmm. Actually Life is a Girl, That Life
- 8:52Speaker 2: is a Girl, that the first Life is a Girl
- 8:54Speaker 2: Dad is my second most played episode ever out of
- 8:58Speaker 2: my out of all of my coin my first one,
- 9:01Speaker 2: my first one is my interview that I did with
- 9:04Speaker 2: Tyler Paride season seven and eight writers from the show Systems.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That was that's my most played episode ever. You see
- 9:11Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 9:13Speaker 3: So, look, it's gonna happen to him.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You just gotta stay stay consistent, stay passionate about it,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and stay putting that content out because you got to
- 9:23Speaker 1: put the content out. Even when you take a highatus,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you know, it's good to relax and regroup and rewind
- 9:28Speaker 1: or whatever. But I always try to have something that
- 9:31Speaker 1: you've already created to put, like clips from from last
- 9:35Speaker 1: year or last season and stuff like that so you
- 9:37Speaker 1: can stay.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I was. I was thinking about it
- 9:41Speaker 2: before the New Year kicked out. I was gonna do that,
- 9:44Speaker 2: but then I.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Was like, you talk yourself out of it, man.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I talked about See. I think part of my
- 9:51Speaker 2: problem is, like I'm very picky with what I put out,
- 9:54Speaker 2: and I do that when I record my episodes, because
- 9:57Speaker 2: even if I make the slightest mistake, like I like,
- 9:59Speaker 2: I a lot of you not episode two of season
- 10:03Speaker 2: eight that's about to come out. I recorded, it, is
- 10:06Speaker 2: recorded and done already, right, but I was unhappy with
- 10:11Speaker 2: it after it recorded because my voice sounded too far
- 10:16Speaker 2: away from the mic. So I told my guests in
- 10:22Speaker 2: the next season, I said, we gotta do this over
- 10:25Speaker 2: because when you listen to all my stuff, my voice
- 10:30Speaker 2: is it sounds a certain way. When you listen to
- 10:32Speaker 2: this one my voice that sounds far away, and I
- 10:36Speaker 2: can't just put that out. It got to be right.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I got I work. I worked hard on myself. You
- 10:43Speaker 2: see what I'm saying, So and speaking of that. It's like,
- 10:48Speaker 2: I don't want to just like like because it's been
- 10:51Speaker 2: so long since I put out something, put out an episode.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I don't want to just be putting out stuff old
- 10:58Speaker 2: stuff that people seen, or I don't want to just
- 11:01Speaker 2: keep putting out quotes and stuff like that. I want
- 11:04Speaker 2: to put out an episode. It's gonna come March first.
- 11:10Speaker 2: The reason why it's so far out is because I
- 11:13Speaker 2: want to make sure the whole season is recorded and
- 11:16Speaker 2: done so I won't have to have no problems on recording,
- 11:21Speaker 2: taking no layoffs, and even after this season done, see
- 11:24Speaker 2: I want to get to a point where I want
- 11:26Speaker 2: to just do like only lives, like not just Instagram Live,
- 11:31Speaker 2: maybe YouTube lives. I don't know. I don't really want
- 11:32Speaker 2: to push a YouTube thing too much, but I want
- 11:34Speaker 2: to get to a point where my podcast is only
- 11:38Speaker 2: a live podcast once a week. I don't want to
- 11:42Speaker 2: keep doing the ten plus episode things because it's gonna
- 11:47Speaker 2: become too much. But I want to get see my followers,
- 11:52Speaker 2: my followers. Got to get to a point where I
- 11:55Speaker 2: have like I have the same amount of people that
- 11:59Speaker 2: tune in and like I can engage with people, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 2: like how you join the typical celebrities live and they
- 12:06Speaker 2: got like one hundred people, two hundred one thousand, So
- 12:10Speaker 2: you can talk and float with it, and people can
- 12:13Speaker 2: be saying stuff in the comments and you can piggyback
- 12:15Speaker 2: off what they're saying, turn it into a convo, like.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Oh, you already know. That's how my podcast started live
- 12:20Speaker 1: on Instagram. I was going live every Monday night. And
- 12:24Speaker 1: you build like that and people get a face behind
- 12:27Speaker 1: the voice, and then you know, you just have a
- 12:30Speaker 1: you build up since some community and stuff. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I love that idea though.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I love that.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I think that'll be amazing. And I told you about
- 12:38Speaker 1: the games, Like, get some of them games and have
- 12:40Speaker 1: them people come up here. We're gonna play a game
- 12:42Speaker 1: because people like to compete and stuff like that.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Man, I don't think they're ready for them game.
- 12:49Speaker 3: But we don't talk about life a little bit.
- 12:51Speaker 1: We've been talking about it, but when it comes to
- 12:53Speaker 1: I mean, because we both podcasts and you've been podcasting
- 12:56Speaker 1: a little bit longer than me, when it comes to life,
- 12:58Speaker 1: what have you learned? What have you being a podcaster
- 13:03Speaker 1: taught you about life?
- 13:08Speaker 2: What's the way to word uh with podcasting? Talk me
- 13:11Speaker 2: about life is just take everything one step at a time.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Don't overwhelm yourself, because one thing about podcasting you going
- 13:20Speaker 2: to multitask, especially like if you're doing it by yourself,
- 13:23Speaker 2: if you promoting by yourself, you editing by yourself, you
- 13:29Speaker 2: engaging on the social media as by yourself. You ain't
- 13:32Speaker 2: got nobody running your pages, You ain't got nobody editing
- 13:35Speaker 2: your stuff. You ain't got nobody adding the music to
- 13:37Speaker 2: your stuff. You ain't got nobody doing none.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Of that, and yourself too.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and then it's like when you are doing all
- 13:45Speaker 2: of that, you get you can get overwhelmed, you can
- 13:48Speaker 2: feel defeated, you can feel like you don't want to
- 13:50Speaker 2: do it no more. And the only reason you feel
- 13:53Speaker 2: like that is because it ain't really no results showing
- 13:58Speaker 2: that it's like pushing you to do or like like
- 14:00Speaker 2: I always say, like when I'm not posting, people be
- 14:03Speaker 2: asking me like when you're coming out with another episode
- 14:06Speaker 2: or why you stop or when the next one coming out?
- 14:09Speaker 2: When people do that to me or say that to
- 14:12Speaker 2: me and make me feel like, damn, y'all you still
- 14:15Speaker 2: want to hear this and it ain't but a handful
- 14:18Speaker 2: of people that, like I guess it's people that know
- 14:21Speaker 2: me directly or personally, that contact me directly or whatever.
- 14:25Speaker 2: When they do that, it make me feel real good
- 14:27Speaker 2: because it's like, damn, so I cannot be doing something
- 14:31Speaker 2: and people notice. So that's the only thing that pushed me,
- 14:36Speaker 2: like literally, because I'm still going to be the person
- 14:41Speaker 2: that y'all hear and see this on the platform. I'm
- 14:44Speaker 2: still a talker. I still got the personality y'all see.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I'm still doing this and showing this offline. But when
- 14:52Speaker 2: I do it online and I take it offline, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: you know I took it offline, they make me want
- 14:58Speaker 2: to keep it online. You see what I'm saying.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 15:01Speaker 2: So that's so. So I think when people get defeated,
- 15:04Speaker 2: field defeated, feel overwhell and all that and they not
- 15:07Speaker 2: receiving love and stuff like that. That data that's yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 2: that's what life taught me. All right.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I love that.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I love that, And we're gonna talk a little bit
- 15:18Speaker 1: and that you could be that devil's advocate or I
- 15:22Speaker 1: can be devil's advocate when it comes to podcasting, because
- 15:26Speaker 1: I know it's a certain podcaster that's making millions off
- 15:29Speaker 1: his podcast that you absolutely despise this because when you're
- 15:39Speaker 1: trying to get no lawsuits or nothing like that.
- 15:41Speaker 3: But when you listen to podcasts.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Or when you come across people and their content bashing
- 15:47Speaker 1: one one species over the other, how does that make
- 15:50Speaker 1: you feel? And how does it make you want to
- 15:53Speaker 1: go even harder with your content? Because you're you're you're number.
- 15:57Speaker 1: You know, you're not biased when it comes to the
- 15:59Speaker 1: stuff that you put out. How you back?
- 16:05Speaker 2: I mean when I I obviously know what I mean,
- 16:08Speaker 2: I be getting it. I understand why they do it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, because I'm like, all right, this,
- 16:14Speaker 2: this is their thing because they want to attract this
- 16:16Speaker 2: type of audience. So I get it. I'm not hating,
- 16:20Speaker 2: but it's like, but when I hear it, I just
- 16:22Speaker 2: be like, like your listeners they got it. They like
- 16:25Speaker 2: they can't be that slow and stupid, you know what
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm saying, Because like when you say, like, for example,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I'm not gonna get on here and say, ladies, when
- 16:35Speaker 2: this how you know a man cheating because when he
- 16:38Speaker 2: do this, you he he mean this. Or make sure
- 16:41Speaker 2: you go through his phone because it's always in his phone,
- 16:45Speaker 2: or and then my next video say ladies, this is
- 16:49Speaker 2: how you know your man, don't look you. And then
- 16:51Speaker 2: my next video say ladies, fourth video, ladies, fifth video, ladies.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Like you clearly want like you clearly care whole lot
- 17:00Speaker 2: about your female follow female listeners to the point where
- 17:03Speaker 2: you want to you want your content to cater to them.
- 17:07Speaker 2: But what I care about is if you mixing it up,
- 17:11Speaker 2: if you say, fellas, this is how you know Fellas,
- 17:15Speaker 2: this is what you pay attention to, Fellas, this is
- 17:18Speaker 2: what you do fellas, this is how you do it.
- 17:21Speaker 2: That's what I care about, because I'd be like, come on, man, like,
- 17:25Speaker 2: I know what you're doing, but that's not the way
- 17:27Speaker 2: to do it. Wont you give a little bit of
- 17:29Speaker 2: something to each person? Do do it that way? But
- 17:33Speaker 2: when I but when I sit and think about it,
- 17:35Speaker 2: sometimes I'm not even gonna lie, I ain't even gonna lie.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Like sometimes I be asking myself like is that the
- 17:42Speaker 2: way to go? Is that the way to progress? Do
- 17:45Speaker 2: you really have to be?
- 17:47Speaker 1: Like?
- 17:48Speaker 2: Do you really have to cater to get your shit
- 17:51Speaker 2: out there? Do you really have to only? Like imagine
- 17:54Speaker 2: if if if I had, if I had a podcast
- 17:57Speaker 2: right that was specifically for men, and all I did
- 18:03Speaker 2: is bash women. I will not have no female listeners
- 18:07Speaker 2: because I will be bashing the hell out of them.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying? What if? What if? What if?
- 18:13Speaker 2: All my content was like, hey, fellas, man, just how
- 18:17Speaker 2: you know your lady cheating on your fellas?
- 18:19Speaker 1: This?
- 18:19Speaker 2: How you know your lady lying to you?
- 18:20Speaker 3: Man?
- 18:20Speaker 2: Check her phone? Man, do this? Don't do this shit
- 18:23Speaker 2: for her Shade White's material. They were like, they gonna
- 18:26Speaker 2: scroll right on paths.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Nigga please, nigga, please, nigga, please, like, come on, man,
- 18:31Speaker 2: I just I just hate it. That's why I always
- 18:34Speaker 2: stay neutral unless it's an unless it's something where uh
- 18:41Speaker 2: it has to be said, then I'm going to say
- 18:46Speaker 2: it about that particular agenda. I got an episode called
- 18:49Speaker 2: Dead be Dad's. I got an episode called Journey through Fatherhood.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I got an episode called Applying Pressure and that applies
- 18:59Speaker 2: to everybody m I got an episode called Toxic Men
- 19:04Speaker 2: Versus Toxic Women Part one ad Part two. I got
- 19:08Speaker 2: an episode called Ken a Woman Chopperman with a baby.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I got an episode called Blended Families. My ship is neutral.
- 19:17Speaker 2: It's for everybody. Everybody, and the type of things that
- 19:21Speaker 2: I talk about, I'd be like I'm talking about everything.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to be positive, but nobody cares about positivity,
- 19:31Speaker 2: negativity and sex.
- 19:33Speaker 1: That right. But here's the thing though, because your best friend,
- 19:36Speaker 1: he somebody must have got in his ear because he
- 19:39Speaker 1: has another show that he has men and women guest
- 19:42Speaker 1: on there, so he needed he needed to join forces
- 19:46Speaker 1: with the opposite sex bring it more of a neutral ground,
- 19:51Speaker 1: because I know.
- 19:52Speaker 3: For a fact some men and women.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Was probably getting in his ass about like, look, this
- 19:58Speaker 1: is not right and you need to quit doing it.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But I'm glad that it's working out. You know, you
- 20:02Speaker 1: got your sponsors. The sponsors want you to have this
- 20:04Speaker 1: type of deal or this type of show because you've
- 20:06Speaker 1: been bringing in the money with the views and content
- 20:09Speaker 1: and stuff like that. You got to do it because
- 20:11Speaker 1: guess what, you want to make sure that you keep
- 20:12Speaker 1: your sponsorship.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's a shit. Look that's another thing, man.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I ain't even gonna lie like I've been showing some
- 20:21Speaker 2: real desperate actions, man, because I be dming, I'll probably
- 20:25Speaker 2: already be knowing like I'm not gonna get no responses.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I be dming. Like companies, i'd be like, can y'all
- 20:32Speaker 2: sponsor me? I'll just be trying to do any and everything, Cause,
- 20:36Speaker 2: like I said, I'm doing everything myself. I don't have
- 20:38Speaker 2: no managing, no agent, no nothing like that. So I'm
- 20:41Speaker 2: trying to put my name in everybody's vision, you know
- 20:46Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Like I've talked to I've talked to
- 20:49Speaker 2: a few, quite a few semi famous people. Celebrities depend
- 20:54Speaker 2: on how high or low profile you want to rank
- 20:57Speaker 2: them or whatever. And I've and every time I talk
- 21:01Speaker 2: to them, they always asked me, how many followers do
- 21:05Speaker 2: you have? How long are your shows? Do you have
- 21:09Speaker 2: a media kit? How many followers? I got? It, don't matter.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I want to talk to you. Come on my damn platform.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I mean, I I that's why you can't come like that.
- 21:19Speaker 3: But yeah, no, no.
- 21:20Speaker 2: No, That's what I'm saying, Like I ain't coming like that.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But I'm like, why the fuck you care about how
- 21:25Speaker 2: many follows I got? I get it. Everything is a business.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Everybody want to everybody want to benefit off of what
- 21:31Speaker 2: they're doing. But it's like, all right, y'all, look listen,
- 21:35Speaker 2: no matter what you do, if you're a rapper, singer, actor, podcaster,
- 21:40Speaker 2: skip maker, I don't care what you do if you
- 21:43Speaker 2: are at a certain level in your career with that
- 21:45Speaker 2: where you're like high profile and you know that there
- 21:48Speaker 2: are other people who are trying to do what you
- 21:50Speaker 2: do and they are a bit low profile. If you
- 21:54Speaker 2: know they trying to do the same thing you doing,
- 21:57Speaker 2: why not And to go back to what you said
- 21:58Speaker 2: earlier about pulling up the ladder stuff like that, if
- 22:01Speaker 2: you know we trying to make a name for ourselves too,
- 22:03Speaker 2: and you're there, you can help. You can help. Come
- 22:07Speaker 2: on my come to my come to my show. Give
- 22:10Speaker 2: me like ten minutes though, I'm telling you ten minutes
- 22:13Speaker 2: to talk. It's a little girl. I don't know her name.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It's a little girl that's going that's on, that's on TikTok,
- 22:18Speaker 2: on Instagram, something like that. And she'd be it's a
- 22:20Speaker 2: little girl like she probably about ten or something, you
- 22:23Speaker 2: probably saying it before, a little white girl. She'd be
- 22:25Speaker 2: talking to celebrities and all that stuff, like with a
- 22:28Speaker 2: mobile little microphone, and I'd be like, you know, what
- 22:31Speaker 2: the hell, man, like, come on, what's what's what's going on?
- 22:34Speaker 1: You got sponsors that's backing her, like, and she probably
- 22:37Speaker 1: has an agent and all that too, because that matters
- 22:40Speaker 1: because you're paying them to work for you, so they
- 22:42Speaker 1: gonna try their best to get you out there because
- 22:44Speaker 1: they want to get that check.
- 22:46Speaker 3: So it's it's the.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Business is all about the coin. What a dollar, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: should say, because we don't do the coins, and you.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Know how to be putting their emails in the bios, right,
- 22:58Speaker 2: So I mean looking at that, and I'd be like,
- 23:01Speaker 2: hm for booking. Huh. Let's try this, man. I sent
- 23:06Speaker 2: master pr email like three years ago. Don't put don't
- 23:13Speaker 2: put your email in there if you don't use your email.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I understand y'all busy, y'all got stuff going on, but
- 23:20Speaker 2: let's be real. Man. Now, I grew up listening to
- 23:23Speaker 2: the master P. That's my adult, that's my man's. Master
- 23:26Speaker 2: P is cool as fuck from from what I see
- 23:29Speaker 2: on camera, But let's be real, master P, how much
- 23:32Speaker 2: you got going on where you ain't respond to an
- 23:35Speaker 2: email three years? Dog?
- 23:37Speaker 3: Do you really think checking his own email?
- 23:40Speaker 2: No, that's what I'm or whoever check it? Like, why
- 23:42Speaker 2: do you? Why do you put a business email in
- 23:46Speaker 2: your bio if no one checks it?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah, they probably did check it. They probably was like,
- 23:51Speaker 3: oh next.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And you know why, you know what they do know
- 23:54Speaker 2: what they probably do. They probably people probably get asked
- 23:58Speaker 2: asked for interviews all the time. And this is what
- 24:02Speaker 2: I mean when I say just another statistic, because if
- 24:07Speaker 2: we are podcast or they're like five hundred thousand other
- 24:10Speaker 2: podcasters behind us. So it's like so when they see
- 24:14Speaker 2: the word, hey, come on podcast, come on with podcast,
- 24:16Speaker 2: podcast podcast. Yeah, if you ain't no High pro if
- 24:21Speaker 2: you ain't Charlemagne, DJ Envy, if you ain't Jennifer Hudson
- 24:26Speaker 2: and all of them, you ain't getting them.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Back.
- 24:31Speaker 2: But how we gonna get there? That's what I'm saying.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Gotta keep doing the work, man, Keep getting out there.
- 24:38Speaker 3: You know.
- 24:39Speaker 1: That's the only thing I could tell you, because as
- 24:41Speaker 1: you build and grow, they will come.
- 24:44Speaker 3: What wrong't build it, they will come.
- 24:46Speaker 2: It's probably easy to have people work for you, though.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Run your accounts for you and all that you know.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Did you you best believe that you're paying them to
- 24:58Speaker 1: do so nothing is free.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Ain't nobody just volunteering to run social media? Because that
- 25:02Speaker 3: is a hard job.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Think about it, you.
- 25:04Speaker 3: See how what you do?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Just think about like big time celebrities, that that's that's
- 25:10Speaker 1: a job.
- 25:11Speaker 2: That is a job, man, I'll be jumping on people lives.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'll be like, man, follow me.
- 25:18Speaker 1: List, get somebody, and you will get a couple of
- 25:22Speaker 1: followers or whatever. But I would ready to have authentic
- 25:25Speaker 1: followers than somebody just a bot. And then the next thing,
- 25:28Speaker 1: you know, your followers go down when they when the block.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I love the page first, Yep. I don't catch all
- 25:37Speaker 2: of them, but I'll be trying to though. I'll be
- 25:40Speaker 2: trying to catch them bots.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I called like over one hundred and something. I was
- 25:44Speaker 1: going through my my follow lists and all of.
- 25:46Speaker 2: That and show your least interacted followers. Yeah yeah, yep, yep, and.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Talking about love a little bit, tim, what's going on
- 26:00Speaker 1: in your love?
- 26:00Speaker 3: Look at that smile? Feel and fell in love over there?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Look a little bit, a little bit of everything, A
- 26:07Speaker 2: bunch of little changes and stuff like that. You know, Yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 2: we we we got we got you see the smile.
- 26:14Speaker 2: We got some smiles going on over there.
- 26:16Speaker 3: You go. I love it.
- 26:17Speaker 1: So what has been a podcaster taught you about love
- 26:21Speaker 1: that I.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Need to take my own advice sometimes.
- 26:26Speaker 3: I love it.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yes, it was a whole lot of things that I
- 26:30Speaker 2: said on my podcast where it was things that I
- 26:35Speaker 2: haven't done, but it was all but at the same time,
- 26:39Speaker 2: it was also things that I know I would do.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Mm hmm, got you.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah, And that makes a big difference when you actually
- 26:47Speaker 1: can go back and say, dang, I was just talking
- 26:50Speaker 1: about this and listen, I need to make sure that
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm I need to. I don't need to be a
- 26:55Speaker 1: hypocrite right now.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, No, that's the main thing I just wanted you.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I just I try to make sure I follow my own.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Word, right, Yes, indeed, So we're gonna get into all
- 27:07Speaker 1: that other shit, and we done talked about that.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Let's get it.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Do you believe that life is worth living without all
- 27:18Speaker 1: that other shit?
- 27:19Speaker 2: Depends on what other shit you're talking about.
- 27:23Speaker 1: All the trials, tribulations, toxic relationship.
- 27:28Speaker 3: You know, all if road blocks, fumbling blocks.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Everything that can be considered as all that other shit.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Well you gotta remember, without the roadblocks and obstacles and
- 27:39Speaker 2: all that stuff, you wouldn't even know if life would
- 27:42Speaker 2: be worth living if you don't go through that stuff yet, Yes,
- 27:47Speaker 2: because if you don't, it's almost like when you just
- 27:50Speaker 2: work hard for something, right, just like now we're talking
- 27:54Speaker 2: about the podcast. We're working hard to get to a
- 27:57Speaker 2: certain level. Now, if we get to that certain level
- 28:01Speaker 2: in a year, then we're gonna look back at everything
- 28:05Speaker 2: that we was talking about and everything that we did,
- 28:08Speaker 2: and we were like, shit, oh my god, I feel
- 28:11Speaker 2: so good. It's just like getting your first big check.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. You're gonna worked all that
- 28:17Speaker 2: old time. You're like, whoof that paid off? Thank God?
- 28:20Speaker 2: But like when life, life is a whole different ball game.
- 28:23Speaker 2: So it's like, like, for example, all the failed relationships
- 28:26Speaker 2: you go through, they teach you everything one by one.
- 28:29Speaker 2: They teach you something one by one, each of them,
- 28:32Speaker 2: right or they should.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Some people just ignore it.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Or when you finally when you finally get your
- 28:39Speaker 2: when you finally get your person or your soulmate or
- 28:42Speaker 2: somebody that you think is your soulmate, then it's like, damn,
- 28:47Speaker 2: I know from these last ten relationships I've been in
- 28:51Speaker 2: that I knew not to do this or watch out
- 28:53Speaker 2: for this, or make sure I get treated like this,
- 28:55Speaker 2: or make sure I treat my person like this, because
- 28:58Speaker 2: when I didn't, it ended like this and all that.
- 29:00Speaker 2: So all I'm saying is when you go through obstacles,
- 29:05Speaker 2: hit roadblocks, fall down a hundred times, get up on
- 29:09Speaker 2: a hundred times. Those all of those things make life
- 29:13Speaker 2: worth living at the end because you look back at
- 29:16Speaker 2: all that shit, because you're gonna say, damn, I got
- 29:19Speaker 2: twenty roadblocks, I got through twenty roll blocks, I went
- 29:22Speaker 2: through fifty obstacles. I went through fifty obstacles, broke through
- 29:27Speaker 2: twenty roadblocks, went through seventeen bad relationships, and I'm here
- 29:31Speaker 2: and this shit is worth living.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Ye what I'm saying, yes, I love I love it
- 29:35Speaker 1: because I love to ask that question because some people
- 29:37Speaker 1: say no, are some people say yes? And I like
- 29:42Speaker 1: the breakdown of it because sometimes people they just dodge bullets,
- 29:46Speaker 1: like life don't come at them as hard as it
- 29:48Speaker 1: comes at other people. Bless them.
- 29:51Speaker 2: And I don't understand, like when you know you dodge
- 29:54Speaker 2: something in life, it's a reason why you dodged it.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Look at the word you dodged. It didn't happen to you.
- 30:01Speaker 2: So it's almost like escaping death. How could you You
- 30:05Speaker 2: know how many times people get in car accidents and
- 30:07Speaker 2: they live. And when you talk to your loved ones,
- 30:11Speaker 2: what they say, what they say, I'm glad you, Okay,
- 30:15Speaker 2: I don't care about the car you alive.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because that's material we could get the another.
- 30:21Speaker 2: You go outside, it's a big shootout if you make
- 30:24Speaker 2: it in the house. Oh shit, I'm glad you okay,
- 30:27Speaker 2: because I heard bullets outside. You just escape death, right,
- 30:32Speaker 2: So how you should be people should be given away better?
- 30:37Speaker 2: I don't know. No, you better think about it, because
- 30:40Speaker 2: we go through we go through shit every day, and
- 30:43Speaker 2: we should be thankful for every breath we take. Every day. Man,
- 30:47Speaker 2: every day some people don't wake up. Some people die
- 30:49Speaker 2: with no explanation. The saying is here today, gone.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Tomorrow, here today, going today?
- 30:56Speaker 2: Everybody that everybody, I'm sure everybody know a person that
- 30:59Speaker 2: passed away and with the say, damn, I've just seen them.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Oh damn, I just talked to them.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Yep.
- 31:06Speaker 2: So it's too many times. It's happening too much, man.
- 31:11Speaker 3: It is.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It's happening too much. And speaking of all that other shit,
- 31:15Speaker 1: how do you feel about the state of this country
- 31:21Speaker 1: right now, in this moment in time, Well.
- 31:27Speaker 2: The state of this country has never been my thing
- 31:30Speaker 2: to talk about, you know why, because I ain't even
- 31:33Speaker 2: gonna lie to y'all. I'm not too I'm not too
- 31:36Speaker 2: educated on the government stuff.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I ain't talking about the government.
- 31:40Speaker 2: No, no, no, I'm just saying, oh you mean just anything,
- 31:42Speaker 2: just anything?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yeah, no politics at all.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Man. Look, I don't like it, but like I tell
- 31:50Speaker 2: my friends all the time, all this stuff is beyond
- 31:53Speaker 2: my control. I'm just one voice. So it's like all
- 31:57Speaker 2: this stuff is when things are out of my control.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say I don't paying no attention because
- 32:02Speaker 2: I obviously do because I know what's going on, but
- 32:05Speaker 2: I can't change it. I mean, you got kids out
- 32:08Speaker 2: here wilding out, breaking in cars, breaking in houses. You know,
- 32:13Speaker 2: you got people getting robbed or they clothing? Are they dogs?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Like this? It's just stupid man, people, stupid people not
- 32:20Speaker 2: getting their people under control. It's not enough laws in
- 32:24Speaker 2: place that people are It's not enough laws in place
- 32:27Speaker 2: that's making people scared.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I think it starts at home.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Though, everything start at home. That's why I say, like
- 32:33Speaker 2: people losing too much control over their people, man, And
- 32:37Speaker 2: like it's not enough laws or rules in place that's
- 32:40Speaker 2: making people worried about breaking them.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like it's going to jail is glamorize them,
- 32:48Speaker 1: Like Okay, I'm at least I'm gonna eat good and
- 32:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a place to sleep versus you know,
- 32:55Speaker 1: I might stay at my homeboy's house the other day,
- 32:58Speaker 1: my grandma gonna lock me out, my mom, I don't care.
- 33:00Speaker 1: My daddy ain't nowhere around. It's a lot to take
- 33:03Speaker 1: in about that. But the reason why I asked that
- 33:05Speaker 1: because I wanted a guide perspective on like some of
- 33:08Speaker 1: the stuff that happening, because you know, you see the
- 33:11Speaker 1: news with the fires and all of that, and I'm like,
- 33:14Speaker 1: that was not.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Not on purpose, like somebody did that on purpose. I
- 33:19Speaker 3: really do believe that.
- 33:20Speaker 2: What set on fire though, like other than people homes, though,
- 33:23Speaker 2: like where do they do they where they said started
- 33:26Speaker 2: from or like that's.
- 33:27Speaker 3: What I'm saying that they didn't. They're not talking about that.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's controversial, yeah, because guess what the Olympics is supposed
- 33:36Speaker 1: to be yet next time and Cali and La all right,
- 33:41Speaker 1: and we're gonna end on that note because we ain't trying.
- 33:43Speaker 3: To have nothing.
- 33:45Speaker 2: But you know what they should happen though, I think
- 33:48Speaker 2: everybody who lost their homes should get their home, uh,
- 33:51Speaker 2: get placed in a home for free, or get their
- 33:55Speaker 2: home rebuilt for free.
- 33:57Speaker 3: YEP, I agree.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Something ship should be done.
- 34:02Speaker 2: All this and Seawan's money. You know what I don't
- 34:06Speaker 2: like though, I don't like how all these celebrities, any celebrity,
- 34:12Speaker 2: anybody in Hollywood, whatever, did everybody get on their social media?
- 34:16Speaker 2: They post these little tweets and statuses and ship and stories.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Oh much love to Kelly, much love to this, much
- 34:25Speaker 2: love to death. They saying all this good ship, but
- 34:27Speaker 2: nobody putting up their money to help nobody get their home.
- 34:34Speaker 1: That right there is a touchy for me because I
- 34:37Speaker 1: don't feel like you need to broadcast what you do
- 34:41Speaker 1: because it's just a lot. Like Prince was one of
- 34:43Speaker 1: the one of the ones that gave. He was a humanitarian.
- 34:47Speaker 1: He gave so much. We didn't know that he actually
- 34:52Speaker 1: passed away because he didn't talk about it.
- 34:54Speaker 3: So I understand, and sometimes you can't.
- 34:58Speaker 1: If I was like that in that position, I wouldn't
- 35:00Speaker 1: tell nobody either, because guess what, now you got people
- 35:03Speaker 1: with their hand out.
- 35:04Speaker 2: No, I'm talking about the people who like just speak
- 35:06Speaker 2: on it, like not like not the people who talk
- 35:09Speaker 2: about what they do, but the people who get on it,
- 35:13Speaker 2: like the people who just get on there and speak
- 35:15Speaker 2: on it, like Tyler Prairie. I think he said something.
- 35:17Speaker 2: He was talking about the insurance companies and how they
- 35:20Speaker 2: ripping people off and not helping them do nothing and
- 35:23Speaker 2: all that stuff. But why you talking about insurance companies
- 35:27Speaker 2: and what they not doing, But what you're gonna do
- 35:29Speaker 2: about it? I mean, don't. I mean, you don't have
- 35:32Speaker 2: to tell us shit. Half of them probably do do
- 35:35Speaker 2: stuff offline. I'm saying, we don't know that, But I
- 35:39Speaker 2: don't like when you get on there and speak on
- 35:41Speaker 2: it and you don't do nothing about it. Right, if
- 35:45Speaker 2: you are gonna get on there and talk, get on
- 35:47Speaker 2: there and say I will help to families, you know,
- 35:51Speaker 2: say something. Y'all got all his money. Y'all got all
- 35:55Speaker 2: his money, and maybe y'all are helping some people y'all
- 35:59Speaker 2: personally know, rebuild some stuff. I don't know, but that
- 36:02Speaker 2: will be nice. Though. Y'all making all this money, man,
- 36:05Speaker 2: we supporting your movies and all this your shows.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Give back, that's the bottom line.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Just give back.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Hey, if God has blessed you with enough to give back,
- 36:19Speaker 1: why not. That's a no brainer, That's all I'm saying. Yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 1: all right, when you guys have been listening to another
- 36:25Speaker 1: episode of Kicking Wikiki Life, love and all the other shit.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I have been joined with Tim host up Real Talk
- 36:31Speaker 1: with Tim podcasts. Any words of encouragement, any last words
- 36:35Speaker 1: or whatever you want to tell the people, tell them
- 36:37Speaker 1: how to follow and support and all the things before
- 36:40Speaker 1: we get out of here.
