Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to episode three of Revellio for October third,
- 0:13Speaker 1: twenty twenty four.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm Amy, I'm Nicole, and I'm Tom.
- 0:33Speaker 3: So we are going to be starting this episode off
- 0:37Speaker 3: on a bit of a somber note. We are recording
- 0:40Speaker 3: this episode on Friday, September twenty seventh, and today we
- 0:44Speaker 3: learned that Dame Maggie Smith has passed away at the
- 0:47Speaker 3: age of eighty nine. Maggie, of course portrayed Professor McGonagall
- 0:50Speaker 3: and the Harry Potter films, and so we wanted to
- 0:53Speaker 3: take a moment here at the start of the episode
- 0:55Speaker 3: to reflect on her life and her contributions to the
- 0:58Speaker 3: wizarding world. Being a brilliant McGonagall. Maggie was a British
- 1:02Speaker 3: legend both on the stage and screen, and during her
- 1:05Speaker 3: career won multiple Oscars, had several Oscar nominations, won a
- 1:09Speaker 3: Tony Award, multiple Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, and also
- 1:13Speaker 3: received several BAFTA Awards. But to us, she will always
- 1:17Speaker 3: be the one who perfectly brought McGonagall to life, with
- 1:21Speaker 3: the pointy hat and the stern look on her face
- 1:23Speaker 3: and a no nonsense demeanor, but with a bit of
- 1:26Speaker 3: humor and SaaS also thrown in. When she was asked
- 1:29Speaker 3: why she took the role of McGonagall, she very wittily said,
- 1:33Speaker 3: Harry Potter is my pension. And she did gain a
- 1:36Speaker 3: little bit of a reputation over the course of her
- 1:38Speaker 3: career as maybe being a little bit difficult to work with,
- 1:41Speaker 3: and when speaking on that, she said, it's true I
- 1:44Speaker 3: don't tolerate fools, but then they don't tolerate me, so
- 1:47Speaker 3: I am spikey. Maybe that's why I'm quite good at
- 1:50Speaker 3: playing spiky elderly ladies. And I thought that was very
- 1:54Speaker 3: fitting because McGonagall was definitely spiky. So, you know, while
- 2:00Speaker 3: it's obviously very sad that she's no longer with us,
- 2:03Speaker 3: her legend will always live on through our screens as
- 2:06Speaker 3: McGonagall and as all the other roles that she played.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Definitely, yeah, she will be deeply missed for sure.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And just started tearing up a little bit again while
- 2:19Speaker 1: I was wondering.
- 2:23Speaker 3: When I when I wrote it, I got a little
- 2:25Speaker 3: teary eyed, so I'm.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really hard. Was really nice because there were
- 2:31Speaker 2: always like these I don't know if you remember, like
- 2:33Speaker 2: on Twitter and like social media, like clickbaits for Maggie,
- 2:39Speaker 2: Like they were like, okay, yeah, we just found that
- 2:41Speaker 2: she is perfectly healthy in her home and we were like,
- 2:44Speaker 2: oh my god, I almost had a heart attack. It
- 2:46Speaker 2: was almost like a meme, like a recurrent meme going on,
- 2:49Speaker 2: Like they were always like kind of like not playing
- 2:53Speaker 2: around with it, but it was always like this kind
- 2:54Speaker 2: of like joke because she was like supposed to be
- 2:57Speaker 2: eternal or something. And so when Today news broke, I
- 3:00Speaker 2: was like, oh, is it another clickbait? Is it another
- 3:03Speaker 2: hoax again? And no, it was like actually real. It
- 3:06Speaker 2: came from her publicists, not her populicists, her agent, I
- 3:09Speaker 2: think it was. And yeah, I just got completely like yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 2: like chills, and you know, you get like you don't
- 3:18Speaker 2: really process it for a long time, and it's very
- 3:21Speaker 2: hard to like not think of that person being present
- 3:25Speaker 2: in this world anymore. It's yeah, it's harsh, definitely.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I mean she was like the Queen of England, like
- 3:32Speaker 1: you just expected her to live forever for her exactly
- 3:36Speaker 1: yea category.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah. So, speaking of kind words, several members of the
- 3:43Speaker 2: Harry Potter cast expressed their condolences and had nothing but
- 3:47Speaker 2: kind and heartwarming things to say about her. One of
- 3:50Speaker 2: them was Harry Potter himself, Danny Redcliffe, who stated, the
- 3:54Speaker 2: first time I met Maggie Smith, I was nine years
- 3:56Speaker 2: old and we were reading through scenes for David Copperfield,
- 3:59Speaker 2: which was my first I knew virtually nothing about her
- 4:02Speaker 2: other than my parents were ostrog at the fact that
- 4:05Speaker 2: I would be working with her. The other thing I
- 4:07Speaker 2: knew about her was that she was a day so
- 4:10Speaker 2: the first thing I asked her when I met when
- 4:12Speaker 2: we met was would you like me to call you dame?
- 4:15Speaker 2: When she laughed and said something to the effect of
- 4:17Speaker 2: don't be ridiculous. I remember feeling nervous to meet her,
- 4:21Speaker 2: and then her putting me immediately at ease. She was
- 4:24Speaker 2: incredibly kind to me on that shoot, and then I
- 4:26Speaker 2: was lucky enough to go on working with her for
- 4:29Speaker 2: another ten years on the Harry Potter films. She was
- 4:32Speaker 2: a fierce intellect, a gloriously sharp tongue, could intimidate and
- 4:36Speaker 2: charm in the same instant, and was, as everyone will
- 4:40Speaker 2: tell you, extremely funny. I will always consider myself amazingly
- 4:45Speaker 2: lucky to have been able to work with her and
- 4:47Speaker 2: to spend time around her on set, and the word
- 4:52Speaker 2: legend is overused, but if it applies to anyone in
- 4:55Speaker 2: our industry, then it applies to her. Thank you, Maggie.
- 4:59Speaker 2: So the two members of the trio, Ruper Grint and
- 5:01Speaker 2: Emma Watson also pay their respect to Maggie through their
- 5:04Speaker 2: Instagram accounts. Emma said, when I was younger, I had
- 5:08Speaker 2: no idea of Maggie's legend, the woman I was fortunate
- 5:11Speaker 2: enough to share space with. It is only as I've
- 5:14Speaker 2: become an adult that I've come to appreciate that I
- 5:16Speaker 2: shared the screen with a true definition of greatness. She
- 5:19Speaker 2: was real, honest, funny and self honoring. Maggie. There were
- 5:24Speaker 2: a lot of male professors, and by God, you held
- 5:26Speaker 2: your own. Thank you for all of your kindness. I'll
- 5:29Speaker 2: miss you, and Rupert stated heartbroken to hear about Maggie.
- 5:33Speaker 2: She was so special, always hilarious, always kind. I feel
- 5:36Speaker 2: incredibly lucky to have shared set with her, and particularly
- 5:39Speaker 2: lucky to have share a dance. I'll miss you, Maggie,
- 5:42Speaker 2: sending all my love to her family. Rupert, I think
- 5:48Speaker 2: it's beautiful those words. I think they compressed like everything,
- 5:53Speaker 2: like what she represented and how strong she was of
- 5:57Speaker 2: an impact like I didn't realize until today. How many
- 6:00Speaker 2: films starring her I had watched through my childhood, not
- 6:04Speaker 2: just Harry Potter, but like so many movies that you know,
- 6:07Speaker 2: were also part of my part of Yeah when when
- 6:11Speaker 2: I was growing up and I would watch these films
- 6:13Speaker 2: and and just she was everywhere basically like she's such
- 6:18Speaker 2: an important presence and wow, yeah, she will be deeply,
- 6:23Speaker 2: deeply missed for sure. So yeah, raise our wands to
- 6:27Speaker 2: Maggie Smith forever and our hearts and the whole fandom,
- 6:31Speaker 2: and we will always cherish and remember our dearly beloved
- 6:35Speaker 2: Professor McGonagall.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Couldn't have asked for anybody better.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Oh who else?
- 6:42Speaker 1: When you're reading the books? Does everybody else hear Maggie's
- 6:47Speaker 1: voice whenever you read mcgonagall's stylogue, Like it's just so
- 6:51Speaker 1: u so iconic.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well and that yeah, it's like I said, I think
- 6:54Speaker 3: that like absolutely perfectly cast. And like I know that
- 6:57Speaker 3: we talked on you know, an earlier episode about you know,
- 7:01Speaker 3: the casting news and stuff for the trio and you know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: talking about how like they have really big shoes to fill,
- 7:06Speaker 3: but like, you know, I think that the adult actors
- 7:10Speaker 3: do as well, because you know, especially you had these
- 7:14Speaker 3: really established actors who came into these roles and really
- 7:19Speaker 3: just made them their own and really became the face
- 7:22Speaker 3: of these characters. And yeah, it's going to be really
- 7:28Speaker 3: tough shoes to fill for sure, because I, yeah, I
- 7:32Speaker 3: literally cannot picture like anybody else like playing McGonagall.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they were truly British Royalty for sure.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, absolutely. There's really no great way to segue
- 7:50Speaker 1: between that and the rest of our episode, but yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: we're gonna.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Do it, hopefully. We moved to more uplifting discussions now.
- 8:04Speaker 2: So yeah, in this episode, we'll be discussing our Wizarding
- 8:07Speaker 2: World favorites and rankings. But first.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Listening to w W in the Wizarding Wireless Network. Now
- 8:20Speaker 1: for the latest headlines.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So I was our last episode. We talked a lot
- 8:25Speaker 3: about Universal and Epic Universe, and we did get a
- 8:29Speaker 3: little bit of some more news from the parks. So
- 8:32Speaker 3: a Universal worker name not disclosed. The job I hopefully
- 8:40Speaker 3: hopefully you still have a job if you're listening, but
- 8:42Speaker 3: thank you for posting this. Posting some images of merchandise
- 8:46Speaker 3: from the Ministry of Magic area that's coming to Epic Universe.
- 8:50Speaker 3: These merch items feature a time turn image on them,
- 8:53Speaker 3: which we kind of alluded to this in the last
- 8:56Speaker 3: episode when we were speculating about the time jump that
- 8:59Speaker 3: would need to have in between Wizarding Paris and the
- 9:01Speaker 3: Ministry of Magic Ride. So this could be our confirmation,
- 9:07Speaker 3: our answer for how we're jumping around timelines in this
- 9:10Speaker 3: new park. I think that it was probably very obvious
- 9:13Speaker 3: that we were going to have some kind of time turner,
- 9:15Speaker 3: especially with how key to the plot a time turner
- 9:20Speaker 3: is for like Kirstchild, which is all about you know,
- 9:23Speaker 3: jumping timelines. But it's nice to kind of get some
- 9:26Speaker 3: confirmation and just really have it kind of plastered all
- 9:29Speaker 3: over the merchandise is pretty pretty good indicator that we're
- 9:33Speaker 3: going to see it built into this park.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I think, yeah, yeah, yeah. It seems to be like
- 9:39Speaker 2: a important part of the merch for this expansion too,
- 9:44Speaker 2: Like there was this photo like this merch from all
- 9:49Speaker 2: of the different like different worlds with an epic, and
- 9:52Speaker 2: obviously Harry Potter was there too, and there was like
- 9:55Speaker 2: a lot of these things that alluded to like time turner,
- 9:58Speaker 2: so you know, hoodies and shirts and mugs and whatnot.
- 10:01Speaker 2: So I think it's going to be something very interesting
- 10:03Speaker 2: to see how it unfolds.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they're really lucky that there's already this like plot
- 10:09Speaker 1: device and prop that they can use to just jump
- 10:12Speaker 1: around and do whatever they want. It's kind of convenient.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Universal Orlando Resort also announced that in twenty twenty five,
- 10:23Speaker 3: they will be expanding the Universal Studios store that can
- 10:26Speaker 3: be found in Universal City Walk, and this expanded retail
- 10:30Speaker 3: area is going to offer merchandise inspired by all three
- 10:33Speaker 3: Harry Potter lands at the Wizarding World, including the new
- 10:37Speaker 3: Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. And you'll also be
- 10:40Speaker 3: able to purchase your favorite variety of butter beer, including
- 10:43Speaker 3: cold frozen, vegan and mine and Amy's personal opinion of
- 10:48Speaker 3: the best version hot and some other currently unknown specialty
- 10:54Speaker 3: items from the Wizarding World at a new dedicated counter
- 10:58Speaker 3: at this Universal Studio store, so you won't even have
- 11:01Speaker 3: to enter the park to be able to enjoy a
- 11:03Speaker 3: nice butter beer. I think they did something similar to this,
- 11:07Speaker 3: like during COVID, but it's interesting that they're kind of
- 11:11Speaker 3: bringing this back. I don't know how I feel about it,
- 11:13Speaker 3: Like I like to be immersed, so it's like if
- 11:15Speaker 3: I'm having a butter beer, like I'm walking into the
- 11:18Speaker 3: Hogshead and I'm getting my hot butter beer and I'm
- 11:21Speaker 3: walking around hogs Meet. I don't know if I necessarily
- 11:23Speaker 3: want to sip on a butter beer walking around city Walk, but.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Yeah, at the same time, sorry, I was thinking, because
- 11:31Speaker 2: you when you are on the city Walk, you don't
- 11:34Speaker 2: necessarily have to enter the park, right, So.
- 11:37Speaker 3: That's like anna have a ticket.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so maybe if you just fancy a butter beer,
- 11:41Speaker 2: you just go there and you don't have to unless
- 11:44Speaker 2: you have the annual pass, which in that sense, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 2: I completely agree, but maybe, Yeah, that's kind of like
- 11:50Speaker 2: what they want to point to.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Also interesting that you'll be able to buy the Epic
- 11:57Speaker 1: Universe merch here because, like we talked about last episode,
- 12:01Speaker 1: Epic Universe will be like fifteen minutes from City Walk,
- 12:07Speaker 1: so it's not even nearby, So that's kind of cool.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I wonder if that means too, that they won't have
- 12:14Speaker 3: I mean, because it's since it's a totally different campus,
- 12:17Speaker 3: there's not necessarily that initial you know, walkway in where
- 12:21Speaker 3: you have all the shops and everything, right, so it's
- 12:24Speaker 3: kind of a nice way to you know, if you
- 12:26Speaker 3: can't get in that Epic Universe. If tickets are really
- 12:29Speaker 3: hard to come by at the beginning, you know, there's
- 12:31Speaker 3: still a way to kind of get merchandise or you know,
- 12:34Speaker 3: if you're not going on that trip, still having it.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So I think it's it makes sense that they're going
- 12:39Speaker 3: to have, you know, all the properties there. There's no
- 12:42Speaker 3: Volcano Bay merch in that that story, so they haven't
- 12:46Speaker 3: incorporated everything just yet. But yeah, it'll be exciting in it,
- 12:50Speaker 3: you know, more to come. I guess on what the
- 12:53Speaker 3: special treats that you'll be able to get at that stand.
- 12:57Speaker 3: And I hope it looks really cool. I think of
- 12:59Speaker 3: like I love the butter beer bar at Harry Potter
- 13:03Speaker 3: New York. It's so cool with just the way they
- 13:05Speaker 3: designed that, and so I really hope that we get
- 13:07Speaker 3: something similar in the story.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I was a little disappointed when I went to
- 13:13Speaker 2: New York because I wanted a frozen butter beer and
- 13:15Speaker 2: they didn't have so they just had regular and I
- 13:18Speaker 2: was like, yeah, yeah, I didn't I didn't try the
- 13:22Speaker 2: ice cream. I have tried it, I think in Yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 2: I tried the ice cream one in I think it
- 13:28Speaker 2: was in Hollywood a few years ago, years ago, And
- 13:31Speaker 2: now like I wanted my frozen butter beer and I
- 13:34Speaker 2: didn't have it, so I was like, Okay, I'll just
- 13:36Speaker 2: get I'll just get regular one. But it's not the same.
- 13:39Speaker 3: No, the regular is like the least popular version, and definitely, yeah,
- 13:45Speaker 3: not the least it's definitely popular. It's definitely the interior.
- 13:49Speaker 3: And yeah, I mean Amy and I have like when
- 13:52Speaker 3: they announced that they were doing like hot butter Beer
- 13:55Speaker 3: all year round, Like we were sipping on hot butter
- 13:57Speaker 3: beer hot Florida summer.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Because air conditioning and they blast you out and it
- 14:06Speaker 1: feels like it's winter. And then you sit there with
- 14:08Speaker 1: your hot butter beer and.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Then you outside and you sweat and you know, it's great,
- 14:12Speaker 3: so exciting. So that again, that will be coming sometime
- 14:18Speaker 3: in twenty twenty five. They'll be expanding that store. And
- 14:23Speaker 3: then Universal Studios Hollywood announced Universal Fan Fast Nights, which
- 14:28Speaker 3: are going to be coming to that theme park in
- 14:30Speaker 3: spring of twenty twenty five. So this is going to
- 14:33Speaker 3: be a new after hours event that lets you step
- 14:36Speaker 3: into your favorite fandoms, which of course includes The Wizarding World.
- 14:39Speaker 3: There's going to be immersive experiences, themed food, and exclusive merchandise.
- 14:44Speaker 3: All of our favorite things in an event, and specifically
- 14:48Speaker 3: for the Wizarding World, there's going to be an encounter
- 14:50Speaker 3: with Nifflers and some other magical creatures to be determined.
- 14:57Speaker 3: And for now, that's kind of all the details that
- 14:58Speaker 3: we have, so more to come on that. I think
- 15:01Speaker 3: there's a link that you can sign up for more
- 15:03Speaker 3: information on the Universal Studios Hollywood website. So this is
- 15:08Speaker 3: really exciting. I'm nowhere near Universal Studios Hollywood, so I
- 15:12Speaker 3: hope that it does well and maybe they bring it
- 15:14Speaker 3: to Orlando, but still exciting to have another kind of
- 15:18Speaker 3: event that's going to incorporate incorporate the Wizarding World in
- 15:22Speaker 3: Harry Potter.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And absolutely yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 3: And then next recently, Deadline spoke to HBO chairman and
- 15:33Speaker 3: CEO Casey Bloyce hopefully I'm pronouncing his name right where
- 15:37Speaker 3: Bloyce provided some updates on the Harry Potter series and
- 15:41Speaker 3: hinted at when we might see it air. Spoiler alert,
- 15:45Speaker 3: It's probably later than a lot of us anticipated. So
- 15:49Speaker 3: I'm just going to kind of read through like the
- 15:51Speaker 3: little blurb of their interview. So Deadline asked Bloyce on
- 15:55Speaker 3: Harry Potter, you recently started the search for Little kids
- 15:58Speaker 3: to play the three leads. What else is going on?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Boyce said, writers have started. Mark Milloyd, who's the director,
- 16:06Speaker 3: has started the team. They're hiring department heads, casting, and
- 16:10Speaker 3: we're off. So then Deadline asked, or you look into
- 16:13Speaker 3: start production in March? That date was on the casting call,
- 16:17Speaker 3: and I believe you made a comment about that too,
- 16:19Speaker 3: Amy like when we talked about that. So Boyce responded,
- 16:22Speaker 3: we haven't announced any date. I think they were talking
- 16:25Speaker 3: about age of the young actors will be in March.
- 16:29Speaker 3: That doesn't mean necessarily a production start date. Deadline asked
- 16:33Speaker 3: why are you looking at twenty twenty six to launch
- 16:35Speaker 3: the series, and Boyce said late twenty six twenty seven,
- 16:40Speaker 3: very nondescript. He said that writers are just starting or
- 16:45Speaker 3: just getting started, so it's too soon to talk about
- 16:48Speaker 3: air date, which fair. So then Deadline asked, but you
- 16:53Speaker 3: are excited about the take and the creative team that
- 16:56Speaker 3: you picked, and he answered yes, with writer French Esca
- 17:00Speaker 3: and Mark, I feel very, very happy and excited about
- 17:04Speaker 3: what they've got going.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I was not shocked by these dates, and I
- 17:11Speaker 1: think that it's kind of funny that everyone was like,
- 17:13Speaker 1: oh my gosh, it's coming so late. I'm like, it
- 17:16Speaker 1: takes a long time to film and edit and like
- 17:21Speaker 1: what did we think they're just casting it? Like it's yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Well, especially just look at the other HBO series in
- 17:32Speaker 3: this article, So like, if you're interested, if you watch
- 17:34Speaker 3: a lot of like shows on Max, this whole article
- 17:36Speaker 3: with Deadline is actually really good because he talks about
- 17:40Speaker 3: you know, things from the Last of Us and like
- 17:44Speaker 3: House of the Dragon and all the kind of Max
- 17:47Speaker 3: keep calling it HBO, it's Max now the Max shows.
- 17:51Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean if you're familiar with any of
- 17:54Speaker 3: those Max shows, Like, I mean we just waited, like
- 17:57Speaker 3: what was it like a year?
- 17:59Speaker 2: Two years?
- 17:59Speaker 3: I want even know for the season two of Half
- 18:02Speaker 3: of the Dragon, Like it's just kind of how it is.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Well, think about how many special effects and things that
- 18:09Speaker 1: have to be done in post, like it's going to
- 18:12Speaker 1: take a while. Yeah, And I mean I kind of
- 18:17Speaker 1: always had twenty twenty six in my mind because I
- 18:21Speaker 1: heard from a friend of a friend of a friend
- 18:23Speaker 1: of a friend who works for HBO that that was
- 18:26Speaker 1: kind of what they were always aiming for, so so
- 18:30Speaker 1: airlines up.
- 18:31Speaker 2: I think it's also interesting how they are like, you know,
- 18:35Speaker 2: hiring department heads and everything, like it seems like you're
- 18:37Speaker 2: building this whole new team of people. So it's kind
- 18:40Speaker 2: of this kind of confirms that it's going to be
- 18:42Speaker 2: a different like a different probably most likely a different
- 18:46Speaker 2: iteration of the world is going to have a new
- 18:48Speaker 2: fresh start, and it seems like it. It's something that
- 18:51Speaker 2: I think it's more plausible that happens than not, because
- 18:55Speaker 2: I feel like HBO really wants to make their own
- 18:57Speaker 2: take on this story, so they we want to start
- 19:00Speaker 2: this new adaptation from scratch, which is interesting. I think, yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 2: it's just a matter of waiting and seeing what happens.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But we'll see.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Yeah, we got time, we got nothing but time, plenty
- 19:13Speaker 1: of time.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Nothing but time. And then like to think, you know,
- 19:17Speaker 3: if we're getting you know, each book as a season,
- 19:19Speaker 3: like we're gonna have things lined up until I don't
- 19:23Speaker 3: even want to know how old I'll be and still be.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I was just gonna say I didn't think I would
- 19:29Speaker 1: be like in my late thirties or early forties and
- 19:32Speaker 1: Harry Potter stuff's coming out.
- 19:33Speaker 3: But I feel like what happens, I'll take it. I
- 19:38Speaker 3: will take it. But I think the one good thing
- 19:40Speaker 3: about even just the short little interview is that like
- 19:44Speaker 3: it's still I mean, it's still going through there. He's
- 19:47Speaker 3: still like you know, even like asking about him being
- 19:49Speaker 3: excited about it, and he's still talking about and excited
- 19:52Speaker 3: about it. Because you know, lots of times we see
- 19:54Speaker 3: like shows get announced, they've got the green light, and
- 19:57Speaker 3: then they get scrapped, and I think any has the
- 20:00Speaker 3: possibility of that happening. So even in I think this
- 20:03Speaker 3: short little interview with him just kind of show like
- 20:09Speaker 3: this is still going forward, Like this is still something
- 20:11Speaker 3: they're prioritizing. They're still excited about it, and that's exciting
- 20:15Speaker 3: to me. Whenever it happens, it happens. Yeah, take their time.
- 20:19Speaker 3: I want a good show, you know, take your time.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I got plenty of time, so I also had to
- 20:28Speaker 3: just throw this in to the news. But if you're
- 20:31Speaker 3: looking for some new merch there's a new Hogwarts House
- 20:35Speaker 3: inspired Crocs collection. It's really cool. I will be ordering
- 20:41Speaker 3: the Slytherin ones. I will be rocking them at Universal
- 20:47Speaker 3: And if you like Crocs, go check them out. They're
- 20:51Speaker 3: really cool with they come with gibbets on them, really cool.
- 20:56Speaker 3: And yeah, I was like, I'm gonna throw this in
- 20:58Speaker 3: because there might be some people out there that are
- 21:00Speaker 3: also fellow crock wearers and want to know what new
- 21:03Speaker 3: merch is out there.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I got my first crocs like two months ago.
- 21:07Speaker 3: So I'm like, you're gonna be hooked now, yeah, like
- 21:10Speaker 3: now I.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Want I was looking for pins and stuff to like,
- 21:12Speaker 2: you know, attached to my.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Crocs, but now it's called gibbets.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Gibbets, Okay, yeah, gibbets.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there's this whole like, you know world.
- 21:26Speaker 1: The crocks, I mean culture. Hey.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I never thought i'd wear them, and now they're the
- 21:30Speaker 3: most comfortable and they are actually my shoe of choice
- 21:34Speaker 3: when I go to the theme parks. Interesting foot doctor
- 21:38Speaker 3: might not agree on that because they're not, you know,
- 21:41Speaker 3: entirely supportive, but they are like the best. This is
- 21:44Speaker 3: my tip and trick for theme park crocs are like
- 21:47Speaker 3: the best because super comfortable. If you're in Florida where
- 21:52Speaker 3: it's probably going to rain, if you have socks on,
- 21:55Speaker 3: you just take them the socks off when it rains.
- 21:58Speaker 3: They're versatile. You can put them in sport mode. If
- 22:01Speaker 3: your feet swell a little bit in the Florida heat
- 22:03Speaker 3: like mine, you you got room in the Crocs. You
- 22:07Speaker 3: can also rep you know, if you're at Disney, if
- 22:10Speaker 3: you're at Universal. They're just versatile.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I feel like this is like an infomercial.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, CROs.
- 22:17Speaker 3: If you want a sponsor, hit us up contact dates
- 22:22Speaker 3: at the end of the episode if you want to
- 22:27Speaker 3: ever do anything.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I agree. I agree that they're the most comfortable footwear
- 22:32Speaker 2: to ever exist. That for sure.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yep.
- 22:35Speaker 3: So yeah, so that's a new merch that's that's around.
- 22:39Speaker 3: And then we also got the trailer and launch date
- 22:44Speaker 3: for Harry Potter Wizards of Baking. So it's going to
- 22:47Speaker 3: launch on Food Network and Max on November fourteenth, so
- 22:52Speaker 3: just in time for the holiday season. The article on
- 22:55Speaker 3: Wizardingworld dot com also mentioned that there's going to be
- 22:58Speaker 3: some further broadcasters announced as well, which I thought was interesting.
- 23:02Speaker 3: And that article also talked about kind of just the
- 23:05Speaker 3: setup of the show. So there's going to be nine teams,
- 23:08Speaker 3: and each team will be a pair of pastry chefs
- 23:11Speaker 3: and they're going to go against each other across six episodes,
- 23:14Speaker 3: obviously creating bake goods inspired by the Wizarding World. The
- 23:18Speaker 3: show was filmed at Leaveston Studios, which is the home
- 23:21Speaker 3: of Harry Potter Films, and there's going to be some
- 23:24Speaker 3: guest appearances by Warwick Davis, Evana Lynch, and Bonnie Wraight.
- 23:30Speaker 1: This show looks so fun. Like watching the trailer, I
- 23:33Speaker 1: was like, I'm not huge on baking shows, but I'm
- 23:37Speaker 1: definitely good to watch this, Like it just looks fun.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. And then the last bit of news
- 23:45Speaker 3: we have for today is Katie Lung, who played Cho
- 23:49Speaker 3: Chang and the Harry Potter Films, was cast in Bridgerton
- 23:52Speaker 3: season four. She will portray a character named Lady Aramina
- 23:56Speaker 3: Gunn who has been twice widowed and has two daughters
- 24:00Speaker 3: debuting in society. So shocker. She's trying to get at
- 24:04Speaker 3: least one of them married off. What what trying to
- 24:11Speaker 3: marry someone? Yeah, So I'm excited about this because obviously
- 24:15Speaker 3: I watched Bridgerton and it'll be nice to see a
- 24:17Speaker 3: familiar face. And it's always so great to see like
- 24:20Speaker 3: Harry Potter alom like doing these big, great things m h.
- 24:25Speaker 1: And I feel like we don't really ever see her
- 24:27Speaker 1: and stuff, So that's kind of fun.
- 24:30Speaker 3: That's cool, And that's all that I have for the
- 24:35Speaker 3: news this week.
- 24:38Speaker 2: So for our main discussion, we will be talking about
- 24:41Speaker 2: Wizarding World favorites and rankings. We'll be talking about some
- 24:45Speaker 2: of our favorite form books to video games, to musical scores,
- 24:49Speaker 2: and the reasoning behind our choices. So let's start off
- 24:52Speaker 2: by asking each of us our favorite book.
- 24:58Speaker 1: All right, I guess I'll go first my favorite book.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It's really hard because it's a tie for me between
- 25:06Speaker 1: Prisoner of Askban and Deathly Hallows, which is weird because
- 25:10Speaker 1: that's the same for my movie answer. But you know,
- 25:14Speaker 1: we'll get to that when we cross it. I guess
- 25:17Speaker 1: Prisoner of Askban for me. I just really love the
- 25:21Speaker 1: overall story of that book. I love the time travel stuff.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I just think it's kind of where things start to
- 25:33Speaker 1: unravel and become more about this grander scheme storyline than
- 25:40Speaker 1: just the year at Hogwarts. So I think it's really
- 25:43Speaker 1: cool that we start to get those outside characters like
- 25:46Speaker 1: Serious and Petty Grew and all of that, and start
- 25:51Speaker 1: to kind of get more backstory and more of a
- 25:54Speaker 1: wider story that's going on outside.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and I it's as you were saying that, that's
- 26:03Speaker 3: kind of some of the reasons for me, like with
- 26:05Speaker 3: the Prisoner of Azkaban as well, And I think like,
- 26:09Speaker 3: and this is going to be such a theme in
- 26:11Speaker 3: this episode where we're going to whenever I give an answer,
- 26:14Speaker 3: I'm not going to have just one. Just this is
- 26:16Speaker 3: spoiler alert. I can't just pick just one. So for me,
- 26:21Speaker 3: like Prisoner of Azkaban was has always been like my
- 26:24Speaker 3: favorites in the series, and because I think it was
- 26:27Speaker 3: that was the book that really brought me into the
- 26:29Speaker 3: fandom and like started my obsession. It introduced Sirius and Lupin,
- 26:34Speaker 3: two characters who would go on to become some of
- 26:36Speaker 3: my favorites. We got the introduction of the Marauders. I also,
- 26:41Speaker 3: you know, love time travel and anything, so I love
- 26:43Speaker 3: the introduction of that into the Wizarding World. The Patrona's
- 26:48Speaker 3: charm is introduced, which is one of my favorites. It's
- 26:50Speaker 3: the one I've got tattooed on my body. And so
- 26:54Speaker 3: I see kind of exactly what you said, Amy, Like,
- 26:56Speaker 3: I also see this book as kind of the start
- 26:59Speaker 3: of the turning point of the series. And it really
- 27:04Speaker 3: was just such a different tone and experience after reading
- 27:07Speaker 3: the first two books where those stories, you know, are
- 27:10Speaker 3: so contained, and I remember, like Prisoner of azk Command
- 27:13Speaker 3: just really taking me by surprise, like the first time
- 27:16Speaker 3: I read it. But I also really want to do
- 27:19Speaker 3: a reread soon because I feel like Prisoner of az
- 27:21Speaker 3: Command might be dethroned by either halfwood Prints or Deathly
- 27:26Speaker 3: Hallows for me, and I just I think as the
- 27:31Speaker 3: time has gone on, and I like really think about
- 27:33Speaker 3: like halfwood Prints in particular, there's some things about that
- 27:36Speaker 3: book that I just really love. Like I love the
- 27:39Speaker 3: Gaunt family history, more background into Tom Riddle, Draco's story,
- 27:44Speaker 3: the darker themes of that book. I mean right from
- 27:46Speaker 3: the beginning, you know, in the chapter Spinner's end with
- 27:49Speaker 3: Narcissa going to Snape for help, like for Draco and
- 27:53Speaker 3: the whole Unbreakable Vow scene. It's just it's really good.
- 27:56Speaker 3: It's a really great book, but I think maybe it
- 28:00Speaker 3: might also be a situation for me where like as
- 28:02Speaker 3: a whole, Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite book, but
- 28:06Speaker 3: some of my favorite moments and some of my favorite
- 28:08Speaker 3: chapters are kind of in the later books, you know
- 28:12Speaker 3: what I mean, Even if maybe not necessarily, it's enough
- 28:14Speaker 3: to make that overall book my favorite. But yeah, I'm
- 28:18Speaker 3: planning to do a reread soon because it's been quite
- 28:20Speaker 3: a long time, so I'm really curious to see like
- 28:22Speaker 3: where I land on this, like after I you know,
- 28:24Speaker 3: do a reread.
- 28:25Speaker 2: But what about you, Tom, Yeah, to me, it's also
- 28:29Speaker 2: kind of like very hard to give like a definite
- 28:33Speaker 2: answer on which is my favorite one? Just because I
- 28:37Speaker 2: love or did the Phoenix even though it's my least
- 28:40Speaker 2: favorite film by a mile, I do love the book
- 28:44Speaker 2: because I love the fact that we get to see
- 28:47Speaker 2: even though it's a very it's it's a weird year
- 28:51Speaker 2: to be at Hogwarts because the Ministry is taking over
- 28:54Speaker 2: and Unbridge is taking control over the school, and but
- 28:58Speaker 2: it's I think it's the book where we like thoroughly
- 29:01Speaker 2: get to live the student life, a normal student life
- 29:07Speaker 2: from beginning to end. Because in Goblet of Fire, we
- 29:10Speaker 2: still have the try was a tournament, so it's another
- 29:12Speaker 2: very like you know, it's a special year two. So
- 29:16Speaker 2: what I love about that is, you know, we get
- 29:18Speaker 2: a ton of like I was a huge fan of
- 29:20Speaker 2: like classes. I loved when they attended different classes, and
- 29:24Speaker 2: that's one of the things that I miss the most
- 29:26Speaker 2: in the movies. How you know, as the story progressed,
- 29:29Speaker 2: as the movies got you know, bigger and darker, and
- 29:35Speaker 2: they started leaving that school, that school aspect out of
- 29:38Speaker 2: the story, which I thought was a pity because it was,
- 29:42Speaker 2: after all, like a boarding school that we were supposed
- 29:44Speaker 2: to be, you know. So that's one of the things
- 29:47Speaker 2: that I loved reading reading about. And we got so
- 29:49Speaker 2: much of that in Order of the Phoenix, like we
- 29:51Speaker 2: get it in all of the books. But I do
- 29:52Speaker 2: feel like there's in Order of the Phoenix and you know,
- 29:56Speaker 2: with the al examinations and there's like this whole that
- 30:00Speaker 2: I love about it. But there's also something that really
- 30:04Speaker 2: draws me back to Goblet of Fire as well. I
- 30:06Speaker 2: think it's a very therapeutic book in many ways, at
- 30:09Speaker 2: least to me. I love how descriptive it is and
- 30:13Speaker 2: how it opens up this world that we thought was
- 30:16Speaker 2: just you know, in England and suddenly it's just a
- 30:20Speaker 2: much broader and huge world where you know, you have
- 30:24Speaker 2: different schools, different cultures, different So I think it's it's
- 30:28Speaker 2: it's so it's so unique. It's such a unique year
- 30:30Speaker 2: because of the tournament, so I love that aspect as well.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And also the characters start evolving, they start growing up,
- 30:39Speaker 2: you start seeing different sides to them, and it's just
- 30:42Speaker 2: a very like both of these stories I love, I
- 30:45Speaker 2: also love but I you know, I'm love Half Blood Prince,
- 30:48Speaker 2: I love Deathly Hollows. It's because, just as you said, Nicole,
- 30:55Speaker 2: there are chapters, there are moments that I might you know,
- 30:58Speaker 2: cherish more in other books then, so it's very hard
- 31:02Speaker 2: to put And it happens as well as music. You know,
- 31:04Speaker 2: there are certain like you say, Okay, this is my
- 31:06Speaker 2: favorite album from this artist, but it doesn't take away
- 31:09Speaker 2: that this album, this album have one of their best
- 31:11Speaker 2: songs to date. So that same thing happens with the books. Yeah, yeah, Yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 3: It's funny that you kind of brought up with Order
- 31:21Speaker 3: of the Phoenix and kind of like that look at
- 31:23Speaker 3: like a normal school life. I feel similarly about Halfwood Prints,
- 31:28Speaker 3: Like it's like those two books are like the only
- 31:31Speaker 3: like two books where I feel like we get like
- 31:34Speaker 3: this just kind of almost like this not calm, that's
- 31:37Speaker 3: not the right word to use, but you know we
- 31:41Speaker 3: we really can delve into the classes and just like
- 31:44Speaker 3: life at Hogwarts, and we don't even really awkwardness, the
- 31:50Speaker 3: angst and then the sass, like it's just the romance.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Like it's just those two books have a lot going on, and.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I'll never forget them for scrapping snapes Defense against the
- 32:02Speaker 2: Dark art scene from the films, because that was one
- 32:05Speaker 2: of the things I was most looking forward to, and
- 32:07Speaker 2: I was like, oh my god, like, yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 3: It was when they're going to be focused.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Show. Yeah, we got to see sassy Harry and then.
- 32:21Speaker 3: That's always love say Harry.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah. So yeah, And how about you know, we were
- 32:27Speaker 2: talking about books, and you know, is there any particular
- 32:30Speaker 2: chapter or moment that really, you know, you always go
- 32:33Speaker 2: back to or you feel like it's super special for
- 32:36Speaker 2: some reason.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm going to pull a Nicole and I'm going to
- 32:40Speaker 1: give two.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I got more than two.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I really love the death Day party in Chamber of Secrets.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That's one of my favorite chapters. I just think it's
- 32:55Speaker 1: so funny, so morbid, but it's so funny. And then
- 33:02Speaker 1: in Deathly Hallow's Godric's Hollow is one of my favorite chapters.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I just really love the themes around it. I love
- 33:14Speaker 1: like that they realize it's Christmas and just like all
- 33:18Speaker 1: of that, like realizing that something so traditional and normal
- 33:25Speaker 1: as celebrating Christmas Eve is going on while there's all
- 33:30Speaker 1: this horrible stuff happening.
- 33:31Speaker 3: In the world.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I just think that's such an interesting and really powerful
- 33:37Speaker 1: and kind of beautiful moment. And Harry getting to see
- 33:42Speaker 1: his parents grave as well or the statue, you know,
- 33:46Speaker 1: so I think, yeah, I think that's probably my favorite chapter.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I think for me, like you know, this question is
- 33:56Speaker 3: hard to answer because there's so many chapters and there's
- 33:59Speaker 3: so much any great moments, you know, how do you
- 34:01Speaker 3: possibly choose? And I think this one also changes for
- 34:04Speaker 3: me all the time, you know, based on my mood
- 34:08Speaker 3: or based on a reread. But when I was like
- 34:11Speaker 3: really thinking about it, like without a doubt, the first
- 34:13Speaker 3: one that comes to mind for me and will always
- 34:15Speaker 3: be on this list is The Prince's Tale and definitely Hallows.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 3: I don't think that one even needs any further explanation,
- 34:23Speaker 3: but that chapter is just a brilliant chapter. Others that
- 34:29Speaker 3: come to mind for me are the Tale of the
- 34:32Speaker 3: Three Brothers chapter and Deathly Hallows, the Cave, and Half
- 34:35Speaker 3: Blood Prints. I just love everything about this chapter, from
- 34:40Speaker 3: the setting to Dumbledore and Harry's interactions, to the infury,
- 34:45Speaker 3: to how Baltimore hid the Hore Crux and the process
- 34:48Speaker 3: to retrieve it, and then the chapter ending with Dumbledore's line,
- 34:52Speaker 3: I'm not worried, Harry, I am with you, and then
- 34:55Speaker 3: bam we go right into the Lightning Struck Tower chapter
- 34:58Speaker 3: where you just get emotionally ripped a shredd. It's just
- 35:01Speaker 3: such a great It's just those those like two chapters,
- 35:04Speaker 3: like that whole portion of that book. And then the
- 35:09Speaker 3: other one I wanted to also mention is the only
- 35:11Speaker 3: one he ever feared in order of the Phoenix. So one.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I just love that chapter title and the duel. I mean,
- 35:19Speaker 3: I think the duel between Baltimore and Dumbledore is the
- 35:22Speaker 3: best one that we get. And Dumbledore calling Baltimore Tom
- 35:27Speaker 3: Chills perfection just just such a great chapter. And one
- 35:34Speaker 3: more that also comes to my mind actually also is
- 35:36Speaker 3: the House of God and half Food Prince. Yes, because
- 35:41Speaker 3: of what I said earlier, that's one reason why I
- 35:42Speaker 3: also really love that book. So I'm sure there's like
- 35:45Speaker 3: several more, but those are like the ones that really
- 35:48Speaker 3: kind of stick out to me. Man, I really like
- 35:51Speaker 3: dark stuff, so are like this will be a theme,
- 35:54Speaker 3: but like the dark chapters, those are the ones that
- 35:58Speaker 3: I really love.
- 35:59Speaker 1: I mean, me the and Sunny Huffelpop I chose me
- 36:01Speaker 1: to they have to do with death, So I mean.
- 36:03Speaker 3: That's true brand as the resident's leatherin' here kind of
- 36:08Speaker 3: like in the dark and moody chapters.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Yeah, to me, it's very hard to pick up specific
- 36:14Speaker 2: chapter first of all, because I haven't read them in
- 36:16Speaker 2: a very long time. So again I need to reread them,
- 36:20Speaker 2: give them like a second, third, fourth item. I'm not
- 36:23Speaker 2: sure what even counted I'm in, but definitely like there
- 36:28Speaker 2: are moments that I love about the books. One of them,
- 36:30Speaker 2: like I mentioned, was the fact that you know, they
- 36:33Speaker 2: they delve into these the whole student life that I
- 36:38Speaker 2: really felt was missing in the later films. So one
- 36:41Speaker 2: of the things that I loved about Carpet of Fire
- 36:44Speaker 2: was how descriptive it was of the school and how
- 36:49Speaker 2: you know they talk about before the Blobotsons and germ
- 36:54Speaker 2: Strang students arrived, like everyone is like you know, they're
- 36:57Speaker 2: they're cleaning the school and you know, my gone goal
- 37:00Speaker 2: is all kind of like you know, uh, going crazy,
- 37:03Speaker 2: like wanting everything to be perfect, and it's it's very
- 37:06Speaker 2: it's really nice to read those chapters where they're kind
- 37:09Speaker 2: of preparing the school for for this arrival. I really
- 37:14Speaker 2: enjoy that. It's like little moments that are really aren't
- 37:17Speaker 2: that maybe relevant, but I feel like are very cherished
- 37:21Speaker 2: just because I don't know. It's I love when there's
- 37:24Speaker 2: a ton of description, and I love when there's like
- 37:27Speaker 2: because it allows you to immerse yourself a lot more.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I also love the Prefect's bathroom chapter.
- 37:34Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you know, so it's like kind of like
- 37:38Speaker 2: because I always say, like, I think for some reason,
- 37:41Speaker 2: I always think that goblet Ifire is probably the most
- 37:43Speaker 2: descriptive book for some reason, of the entire series, and
- 37:48Speaker 2: it kind of like I feel in many ways like
- 37:51Speaker 2: Hogwarts becomes a character as well, just because I think
- 37:55Speaker 2: it's because of the arrival of these new students, you
- 37:58Speaker 2: get like this like much broader, you know, you get
- 38:02Speaker 2: to tap into the school a lot more to kind
- 38:06Speaker 2: of like introduce you. I think it's book four also,
- 38:09Speaker 2: when you when we learned that Hogwarts is protected by
- 38:14Speaker 2: so if the Muggle you know, pops up there, it's
- 38:17Speaker 2: gonna be like it's it's gonna be castle and moons,
- 38:20Speaker 2: all those little.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Jacob looking around and fantasy.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Yeah. So yeah, so I think it's it's just those tiny,
- 38:31Speaker 2: like little moments. I also love the Gaunt memories too,
- 38:36Speaker 2: Like I think all of those memories from Haploot Prints
- 38:38Speaker 2: were intense and they were so good and it's it's,
- 38:43Speaker 2: uh yeah, it's it's a shame we didn't get to
- 38:45Speaker 2: see more of it in the films, but I definitely
- 38:48Speaker 2: enjoyed reading all those And yeah, when I.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Think, like I mean maybe, I mean this is I
- 38:55Speaker 3: mean an opinionic. I guess it could maybe be controversial,
- 38:58Speaker 3: maybe not, But to me, Valtimore is not as scary
- 39:03Speaker 3: as Tom Riddle. Like I think that if if say,
- 39:07Speaker 3: like Tom Riddle's plan had like worked out in Chamber
- 39:10Speaker 3: of Secrets right, and he was able to come out
- 39:13Speaker 3: of the diary, and that was the Valtimore that we
- 39:15Speaker 3: got through the rest of it. Like I think, like
- 39:18Speaker 3: even when very like formidable, and I think that when
- 39:23Speaker 3: he kind of became Valtimore, he really like just lost
- 39:26Speaker 3: himself and it came more about like pure terror, do you
- 39:30Speaker 3: what I mean, more than this kind of more I
- 39:34Speaker 3: don't know if manipulation is the right word, but it's
- 39:37Speaker 3: kind of just like that villain. Like I love a
- 39:39Speaker 3: villain origin story. So one thing about me is I
- 39:43Speaker 3: always like the villains more than the heroes, I think
- 39:45Speaker 3: their stories are more interesting. Again, might be the Slytherin
- 39:49Speaker 3: in me talking, but I think we really get to
- 39:52Speaker 3: see that through the you know, learning about the Gaunt
- 39:55Speaker 3: family and seeing his backstory and just where it all
- 39:58Speaker 3: came from. It truly as his villain origin story, and
- 40:03Speaker 3: it's just like so chilling to me. And I just
- 40:06Speaker 3: love that and I wish we had Yeah, I wish
- 40:09Speaker 3: we had more of that. I really hope, like that's
- 40:11Speaker 3: something the show can really explore more. I mean those
- 40:15Speaker 3: scenes like Halfwood Prince movie I think has a lot
- 40:17Speaker 3: of issues. However, like those scenes with like young Tom Riddle,
- 40:23Speaker 3: I think are really great and I just really hope
- 40:26Speaker 3: we get to see more of that. And all of
- 40:29Speaker 3: those things are just so vital to his motive and
- 40:33Speaker 3: his character. And I think that unfortunately, like with the films,
- 40:37Speaker 3: that was kind of like lost a little bit because
- 40:40Speaker 3: it wouldn't have made sense to bring in the whole
- 40:42Speaker 3: Gaunt story and like a casual viewer, I think it
- 40:45Speaker 3: would have been too it's like too much for just
- 40:47Speaker 3: like a casual viewer. But yeah, I love those those chapters.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and it also shows how dark his soul is
- 40:54Speaker 2: like is pure evil from the beginning, and it's very
- 40:59Speaker 2: like even though I feel like the movie still portray
- 41:03Speaker 2: that and you you know, you're terrified of this person,
- 41:05Speaker 2: you're terrified of this character, but the books just so
- 41:09Speaker 2: show you how you know, he didn't even have a soul.
- 41:12Speaker 2: You know, he was complete you know, darkness. He was
- 41:15Speaker 2: just pure, pure, complete evil. And I think that's one
- 41:19Speaker 2: of the things that this this series has, Like it's
- 41:22Speaker 2: the only character I think that is completely black and
- 41:26Speaker 2: it has like no grays in anything. It's like so
- 41:29Speaker 2: it's like a yeah, it's a villain in and.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Out from the very beginning, right even as a little kid,
- 41:36Speaker 3: as a little child. Yeah, And I think that's too
- 41:40Speaker 3: where I kind of think of this, you know, like
- 41:42Speaker 3: where I kind of say, as I see Tom Riddle
- 41:45Speaker 3: in that form almost being more terrifying than Baltimore in
- 41:50Speaker 3: his kind of reborn form, because you know, when he's reborn, like,
- 41:54Speaker 3: he looks grotesque, he looks scary like. But I mean
- 41:59Speaker 3: maybe a little biased because of like film, but like
- 42:02Speaker 3: young Tom Riddle was, you.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Know, there's something about like evil hot guys, yeah, are
- 42:10Speaker 1: way scarier than the.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Ugly evil guys because it's like I think part of
- 42:18Speaker 4: it is like that charming factor, like he was able
- 42:21Speaker 4: to lure Jinny and because I think there's like that
- 42:25Speaker 4: charm there and it's just yeah, I mean, that's exactly
- 42:30Speaker 4: the point I'm trying to make, Like Tom Riddle, like
- 42:32Speaker 4: if he looked anything like he did in the films,
- 42:35Speaker 4: like yeah, he was hot, okay, and so it's.
- 42:39Speaker 3: There's something more evil about that when like someone who
- 42:42Speaker 3: looks like that is evil and you don't expect it.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Reborn Voldemore, I don't think you would expect that he's
- 42:51Speaker 3: all butterflies and roses, like you know that, you know, yeah, like, yeah,
- 42:58Speaker 3: he's not taking you for an ice cream like you know,
- 43:01Speaker 3: you see, you see him and you expect him to
- 43:06Speaker 3: be evil.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I need Carolyn to draw Baltimore taking a little kid
- 43:12Speaker 1: to like an ice cream truck or something.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Like, yeah, Carolin, if you're listening or maybe outside of
- 43:17Speaker 3: Florian's like, it's great, it'll be great. It's like it's
- 43:21Speaker 3: we kind of got glimpses of it in the film,
- 43:23Speaker 3: right when they threw in little things like him hugging
- 43:25Speaker 3: Draco and stuff like that. I don't know, Book Baltimore,
- 43:28Speaker 3: I don't I don't see that happening, but like.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's the whole point, and.
- 43:34Speaker 3: That's why I think those chapters are just yeah, going
- 43:36Speaker 3: back to that are so good because we're seeing Baltimore
- 43:40Speaker 3: when he is human and looks human and was just
- 43:46Speaker 3: completely deranged. Yeah. I think sometimes like because I definitely
- 43:52Speaker 3: now I'm in this, I do probably watch the films
- 43:55Speaker 3: more than I read the books because obviously you just
- 43:57Speaker 3: throw in the film, you know, while you're doing something.
- 43:59Speaker 3: And I think this is also why I want to
- 44:02Speaker 3: do a reread, because I think sometimes like when you
- 44:05Speaker 3: have just watched the film so much, like you forget
- 44:08Speaker 3: a little bit like how great of a villain like
- 44:12Speaker 3: he actually is and how much there was there because
- 44:15Speaker 3: it's not in the films.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Definitely. Yeah. So do you have any favorite cover artwork
- 44:26Speaker 2: or edition, no matter the year, new, old?
- 44:33Speaker 1: I mean I think for me, I just got to
- 44:35Speaker 1: go with the classic, the you know, the US hardcovers,
- 44:41Speaker 1: Marie Grand Prix. Just the nostalgia of those covers and
- 44:47Speaker 1: that's what was coming out and that's why you couldn't
- 44:49Speaker 1: wait to get a hold of at midnight. So for me,
- 44:52Speaker 1: those have a little place of honor on my shelf
- 44:55Speaker 1: in my living room, separated from all my other books.
- 44:58Speaker 1: They're like the centerpiece.
- 45:01Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, I think similarly like the of the
- 45:09Speaker 3: original US editions are always going to hold like a
- 45:11Speaker 3: special place for me, because yeah, those were the books
- 45:14Speaker 3: I had growing up. I think of those editions. My
- 45:17Speaker 3: favorite cover is half Blood Prints. I don't even really
- 45:22Speaker 3: have a clear reason why. I don't know if it's
- 45:24Speaker 3: like the color scheme of it, just the artwork of it.
- 45:29Speaker 3: I just there's something about that cover that I just
- 45:31Speaker 3: really love. But I also like the Sorcerer's Stone cover
- 45:35Speaker 3: is super nostalgic and there's just so many hidden things
- 45:40Speaker 3: in that cover, and it's such a great cover to
- 45:43Speaker 3: introduce the series. Like I think, if I was looking
- 45:45Speaker 3: to pick up a book series and I saw that cover,
- 45:48Speaker 3: it would definitely entice me. I do also have another
- 45:52Speaker 3: edition that I love. It's a UK edition. It's one
- 45:55Speaker 3: of the newer released ones. It's the Prisoner of Azkaban
- 45:59Speaker 3: cover and it's illustrated by Johnny Duddell I think is
- 46:03Speaker 3: his name. It's the front is Harry casting the Patrona's
- 46:07Speaker 3: stag and there's all the dementors flying around. It's very blue,
- 46:11Speaker 3: and I just love it. I picked up a copy
- 46:13Speaker 3: of it at on one of my trips to the
- 46:16Speaker 3: making of Harry Potter Studio tour in London, so it's
- 46:19Speaker 3: got a nice little seal on it as well. That's
- 46:21Speaker 3: for the studio tour. But there's something about that cover
- 46:24Speaker 3: that is just really, really gorgeous. So that's another one
- 46:29Speaker 3: that comes to mind to me. And I just also
- 46:30Speaker 3: love all the illustrated editions.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think you know, to me, it's
- 46:36Speaker 2: the same thing. It's just a nostalgia factor. Some of
- 46:39Speaker 2: the later covers have been beautiful and they've been super creative,
- 46:43Speaker 2: but you always stick to the originals. In my case,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I grew up reading the Spanish editions, so those are
- 46:51Speaker 2: kind of like my top picks just because of you know,
- 46:55Speaker 2: I just think of one of the books and my
- 46:57Speaker 2: mind goes directly towards one of those covers. So yeah,
- 47:03Speaker 2: it's just what kind of like I grew up with,
- 47:06Speaker 2: and it's kind of you know, I was always you know,
- 47:09Speaker 2: even I love the seeing the artwork for the official
- 47:12Speaker 2: like English versions, but at the same time, its like
- 47:14Speaker 2: I wonder what the you know, Spanish version will look
- 47:17Speaker 2: like because it was like the ultimate cover for me.
- 47:20Speaker 2: So yeah to me, like I I also you know,
- 47:23Speaker 2: for a nostalgia factor, always go back to those ones.
- 47:29Speaker 3: And so diving like I guess a little bit more
- 47:31Speaker 3: like into those books. Like who is like your favorite character?
- 47:37Speaker 2: M so to me Hermione definitely, just because I I
- 47:48Speaker 2: just love how she kind of represents a lot of
- 47:53Speaker 2: misfits in school and shows that you know, you can
- 47:57Speaker 2: be smart and you can still be a badass, and
- 47:59Speaker 2: you can you know, you can be a good person
- 48:03Speaker 2: and you can you know, just protect others. And I
- 48:07Speaker 2: just loved every single chapter. She's my favorite character from
- 48:11Speaker 2: the books, from the films, you know, and I literally
- 48:14Speaker 2: grew up wanting to be like her, like I wanted
- 48:16Speaker 2: to get straight A's, I wanted to be you know,
- 48:18Speaker 2: like she was such a role model for me as
- 48:20Speaker 2: a student, and it's something that I can, you know,
- 48:23Speaker 2: I can't even neglect at this point in my life,
- 48:27Speaker 2: like she was. She was to me like the representation
- 48:30Speaker 2: of what she of course she did have her flaws.
- 48:33Speaker 2: She wasn't perfect, but that's what you love about her
- 48:35Speaker 2: as well, you know, Like she she's so sometimes she's
- 48:39Speaker 2: so focused on you know, attaining perfection. You know that
- 48:43Speaker 2: she gets frustrated and she starts learning along the way too,
- 48:47Speaker 2: and she kind of like, you just, you know, love
- 48:51Speaker 2: how protective she is of Harry and how she bickers
- 48:55Speaker 2: with Ron and it's it's, you know, I just love
- 49:00Speaker 2: her and she's so smart, and yeah, she's she's definitely
- 49:03Speaker 2: up there. But also I love Dumbledore and Snape. There
- 49:07Speaker 2: probably my second and third favorite characters. They're such complex
- 49:11Speaker 2: and flawed characters, and they have so many layers to them,
- 49:16Speaker 2: and every chapter in which either of them appear is
- 49:20Speaker 2: you know, golden like it's such a it's such a
- 49:23Speaker 2: precious moment. It's such a you know, and I just
- 49:26Speaker 2: love any chapter when you know where they appear. So
- 49:31Speaker 2: I say, you know, it's hard because always Hermione's at
- 49:34Speaker 2: the top of my head, but it's very closely followed
- 49:37Speaker 2: by Snape and double Dore.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to echo hermione and for a lot
- 49:46Speaker 1: of similar reasons, I think, and I know I talked
- 49:49Speaker 1: about it a little bit in our first episode, but
- 49:52Speaker 1: I just I could always relate, like just the physical
- 49:57Speaker 1: features that I was never super fond of growing up.
- 50:01Speaker 1: It was fun to see that she had those, and
- 50:04Speaker 1: there was a character, a main character that had those,
- 50:08Speaker 1: not just a character, but I mean and then just yeah,
- 50:13Speaker 1: like you said, like, she's just so wise, and I
- 50:15Speaker 1: think not just books smart, but as the books go on,
- 50:19Speaker 1: we really see her wisdom come out and wise beyond
- 50:25Speaker 1: your years. And I just I think it's just cool
- 50:30Speaker 1: to see a character like that not only just portrayed,
- 50:34Speaker 1: but done so well. Like there's depth to her. It's
- 50:38Speaker 1: not just oh, here's this character that we're going to
- 50:42Speaker 1: just make a bunch of jokes about because she's books
- 50:45Speaker 1: smart and reads a lot, so that's the punchline. No,
- 50:49Speaker 1: It's like she's got layers and depth to her. And yeah,
- 50:55Speaker 1: she's a rule follower, but she breaks the rules when
- 50:58Speaker 1: it counts and I like that too. Yeah. But besides Hermione,
- 51:05Speaker 1: I would probably say Luna as well. I love Luna.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I think similar to Hermione, she's also a misfit so
- 51:16Speaker 1: and I just think that she's very comfortable in herself
- 51:19Speaker 1: and there's something really sweet and innocent about Luna that
- 51:24Speaker 1: just how could you not love her?
- 51:26Speaker 2: You know mm hm?
- 51:31Speaker 3: So I think like, yeah, I mean, this is a
- 51:33Speaker 3: hard question to answer too, because there's just so many
- 51:35Speaker 3: great characters, you know, and I think, like when I
- 51:38Speaker 3: was reading the books for the first time, Sirius Black
- 51:41Speaker 3: was immediately my favorite character. And I will agree that
- 51:46Speaker 3: a lot of Serious's behavior is problematic, and you know,
- 51:51Speaker 3: we do get to see him through Harry's lens, and
- 51:54Speaker 3: Harry Serious was like that first bit of family and
- 51:58Speaker 3: that first like connection to his true family. And you know,
- 52:01Speaker 3: obviously the Weasleys became family to him and were great
- 52:04Speaker 3: to him, but Serious was that like direct connection to
- 52:08Speaker 3: his parents and especially his dad, and was the first
- 52:11Speaker 3: like fatherlike figure to him. And I just loved that
- 52:14Speaker 3: like for Harry. And ultimately, you know, I think that
- 52:19Speaker 3: Sirius like is a good person. And he was born
- 52:23Speaker 3: into a family situation and ideals that he didn't agree with,
- 52:28Speaker 3: and he makes the choice to abandon that life, and
- 52:34Speaker 3: you know, because he knew it was the right thing
- 52:36Speaker 3: to do. And I think he's a very selfless person,
- 52:39Speaker 3: you know, especially when it comes to protecting his friends
- 52:42Speaker 3: and then extending that protection onto Harry. And he really
- 52:46Speaker 3: was just dealt a very rough hand in life. And
- 52:51Speaker 3: I also like the rebellious nature of him. He's somebody
- 52:54Speaker 3: that I think I like would have had a crush
- 52:56Speaker 3: on you know, I just I just there's there's something
- 52:59Speaker 3: about his character that, you know, I really love. And
- 53:03Speaker 3: I think that you know, maybe a lot of people
- 53:06Speaker 3: who like serious mainly like him because Harry likes him.
- 53:11Speaker 3: But I think that's okay. And I think he's a
- 53:13Speaker 3: tragic character, and you know, as I said, I really
- 53:16Speaker 3: like those kind of moody, tragic things. And I mean
- 53:21Speaker 3: some other favorites of mine are lupin Harry. I think
- 53:27Speaker 3: Harry is massively underrated in his own series. I think
- 53:31Speaker 3: like he is not enough people's favorite character, and he's
- 53:35Speaker 3: my favorite of the trio. And you know, I really
- 53:39Speaker 3: can get emotional, like really if I really sit and
- 53:41Speaker 3: think about his story and his journey, you know, from
- 53:45Speaker 3: being this like young, abused little boy who had I
- 53:48Speaker 3: think every reason to turn bad and he didn't and
- 53:52Speaker 3: he became so selfless and brave, and yeah, I just
- 53:57Speaker 3: really love Harry. I also love Snape and Snape's character journey.
- 54:04Speaker 3: I also want to throw in, like from Fantastic Beasts,
- 54:06Speaker 3: for I want to know who everyone's favorite Fantastic Beast
- 54:08Speaker 3: character is too, but mine is legal or strange. Yeah,
- 54:13Speaker 3: And I also want to know who everyone's favorite villain is,
- 54:16Speaker 3: so I'd also picked so my favorite villain is Greenivald.
- 54:20Speaker 3: And I was someone who was really happy, you know,
- 54:23Speaker 3: when we learned that the Fantastic Beast films were going
- 54:25Speaker 3: to be focusing on Dumbledore and Grenivald's story, and so
- 54:28Speaker 3: I'm really sad that it seems that we'll not get
- 54:31Speaker 3: to see that play out. But yeah, so yes, tell
- 54:35Speaker 3: me your Fantastic Beast favorite character.
- 54:37Speaker 1: I like the optimism. I mean, I gotta be generic,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and I gotta go with New. I just I love him.
- 54:46Speaker 1: He's so he's so awkward and it's so lovely, and
- 54:53Speaker 1: Eddie is fantastic. Yeah, I love New.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm following you up on that one. To me,
- 55:04Speaker 2: I see a lot of myself in you too, because
- 55:07Speaker 2: I'm really awkward socially, and when I saw him, I
- 55:10Speaker 2: was like, this is kind of like how I act
- 55:12Speaker 2: around people sometimes when I don't know them or when
- 55:15Speaker 2: i'm you know, so it's I just saw so much
- 55:18Speaker 2: of myself and knew it. And you know how devoted
- 55:21Speaker 2: he is to his creatures and how good hearted he is,
- 55:24Speaker 2: and you know he's just you know, he's he's a
- 55:29Speaker 2: really really sweet character. And as you said, Eddie just
- 55:33Speaker 2: was perfect. I think he's probably the best thing that
- 55:37Speaker 2: those movies had was him. He played it so well,
- 55:41Speaker 2: even though it's a character that we knew practically nothing from,
- 55:45Speaker 2: so it's the only story we know of him is
- 55:49Speaker 2: from the films because we didn't have a book to base,
- 55:52Speaker 2: you know, our opinions on. So I think he made
- 55:55Speaker 2: this really complex character and made it his own, and
- 55:58Speaker 2: I just, yeah, I I also love you. I think
- 56:01Speaker 2: he's you know, he's got probably one of the kind
- 56:04Speaker 2: of souls in the wizard World probably, And.
- 56:08Speaker 1: What's the line And he's like talking to Jacob and
- 56:11Speaker 1: he says something of Jacob like people really like you
- 56:14Speaker 1: or something, and Jacob says something like, oh, I'm sure
- 56:17Speaker 1: people like you too. He's like no, and I think
- 56:20Speaker 1: they just tolerate me.
- 56:21Speaker 4: Like, yeah, I feel like people just tolerate me.
- 56:31Speaker 3: I mean, who else could like tell you that you
- 56:33Speaker 3: have salamander eyes and do it in such an endearing way.
- 56:37Speaker 3: No one else, But.
- 56:39Speaker 2: He's yeah, I think that's what you know, people maybe,
- 56:43Speaker 2: like a lot of outcasts can relate to, you know,
- 56:45Speaker 2: when you know you have a crush on someone, or
- 56:47Speaker 2: when you're like, you know, and you're going through a
- 56:48Speaker 2: lot of things and you don't know how to act
- 56:50Speaker 2: with people. Many times, you don't know like the social
- 56:53Speaker 2: protocols all the time, and you're kind of like, you know,
- 56:56Speaker 2: you sometimes dipped into these very you know, different gold situations,
- 57:00Speaker 2: very awkward situations where you don't know how to act,
- 57:04Speaker 2: and so many times I've been like, oh my god,
- 57:06Speaker 2: I'm so be mute in this situation.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Like, does anyone have a favorite villain or just me?
- 57:22Speaker 1: I mean as far as like villains that like do
- 57:26Speaker 1: a great job of making you really hate them, Umbridge,
- 57:30Speaker 1: it's gotta be up there. Like I can't think of
- 57:32Speaker 1: a single person who isn't like I hate her, So
- 57:37Speaker 1: that's when you know it's a good villain.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, Grenda Wall is pretty much up there. I
- 57:46Speaker 2: think he's What he has as opposed to to Voldemort
- 57:50Speaker 2: is that he's very persuasive, and he's very like manipulative,
- 57:53Speaker 2: and he he has this kind of like human sight
- 57:57Speaker 2: to him that Voldemort lacks, which makes him even more
- 58:01Speaker 2: dangerous because he can he can get into someone's head
- 58:05Speaker 2: and manipulate them and just really you know, like he
- 58:08Speaker 2: did with Queenie, you know, such a you know, nice
- 58:12Speaker 2: person and you know, with good intentions, and he confused her,
- 58:16Speaker 2: he tricked her. He made her think that, you know,
- 58:20Speaker 2: there was a way in which you know, she would
- 58:22Speaker 2: be able to to solve the problem she was going
- 58:25Speaker 2: with with Jacob and not being able to marry. And
- 58:29Speaker 2: so I think like that's something that makes him more dangerous,
- 58:32Speaker 2: even though I'm I think I'm more terrified of Voldemort.
- 58:35Speaker 2: If you know, Grinda Wall appears, at least I know
- 58:37Speaker 2: I have a chance of joining him, but maybe if
- 58:39Speaker 2: Voldemort pups up, like I'm dead, Like I've had nightmares
- 58:43Speaker 2: with Voldemort. So it's kind of like, yeah, but I
- 58:47Speaker 2: think it's gotten under Yeah, but yeah, but Grenda Wall is, Yeah,
- 58:52Speaker 2: I think it's He's a He's a really good and
- 58:54Speaker 2: very again, very complex, you know, multi layered character, and
- 58:59Speaker 2: that makes also a great villain.
- 59:02Speaker 3: And that's I mean, it's kind of what you said
- 59:04Speaker 3: is exactly why, Like he's my favorite, and I almost
- 59:07Speaker 3: think like he like if if Tom Riddle didn't like
- 59:12Speaker 3: morph into Valdemore, he like could have been more like
- 59:15Speaker 3: a Grindivald type villain, you know, And I think like
- 59:19Speaker 3: but he just became so deranged that there was just
- 59:22Speaker 3: no hope there. And I think like Grindeval is just
- 59:24Speaker 3: such a good like speaker, and it's like that type
- 59:28Speaker 3: of thing where it's like you listen to him speak
- 59:30Speaker 3: and you like question for a second, like wait, like
- 59:35Speaker 3: I see what you're saying here, and I think that's
- 59:38Speaker 3: like a that's a really scary you know villain. So yeah, yeah,
- 59:43Speaker 3: I just yeah, I hope maybe one day we'll get
- 59:46Speaker 3: more on that story or more with him, because I
- 59:49Speaker 3: feel like there's so much more story that can be
- 59:51Speaker 3: told there and just him kind of even juxtaposed with
- 59:55Speaker 3: Dumbledore and that relationship, it like it makes such perfect
- 59:59Speaker 3: sense to me, like why they became or why they
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: developed the relationship that they did. I just love that story,
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: and I just we were so close to getting it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: There's a twenty years time span between the last movie
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: I think and the duel. So yeah, nos, kind.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Of Warner Brothers. If you're listening, we want it.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Oh please?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Yeah? So what about your favorite Wizarding World location? So
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: this could be at Hogwarts outside of Hogwarts. We could
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: do one of each, or maybe more than one of each,
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: because it's hard to choose just.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: One for me, I think it's Hogsmeade or the Three Broomsticks.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Like specifically, there's something about like that little village for
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: the snow and you know, being able to like pop
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: inside a warm pub and get a butter beer. Like
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: there's just something about that that's like so cozy and
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: nice and nostalgic.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Outside of Hogwarts, I would say probably diagon Alley because
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: it's kind of like a full circle moment for this
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: whole story. And just you know, if I imagine myself,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: if I had been a wizard and I have you know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: the first step I would have taken into this world
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: would have been through diagon Alley. So I'd be you know,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: just getting this first glimpse of this magical world and
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: just you know, breathing it all in and just you know,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: having that experience for the first time, and just you know,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: it kind of also has like that it's more of
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: a it's not as cozy as hogsmeat it's more like
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: city kind of you know, but I do love that,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: you know, it's it's just a very special moment for
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: any student who's just about to begin their journey.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I think like for me, like within Hogwarts, I
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: think my favorite location would probably be the Slytherin common Room.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: So I think just there's something I love about like
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: the common rooms and just like the cozy vibe and
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: just like the way that they all kind of like
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: capture the like spirit in the essence of that house.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: And I think outside of Hogwarts, I would have to
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: say grim Old Place and the Department of Mysteries.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Ooh, that's a good one.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Because I think, yeah, that's also like need to reread
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: Order the Phoenix because I just want to, you know,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: really read more about that. But I think the researcher
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: in me loves the whole idea of the Department of
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Mysteries and everything that's going on there.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, I think for as far as Hogwarts goes,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: maybe some of the exteriors just probably the wooden bridge,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: the courtyard. Yeah, I don't know why. I feel like
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: I would just you know, in the fresh air, you know,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: just you know, breathe it and just being there. And yes, yes, yes,
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: so yeah, probably that one.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Perfect. So while we're in Hogwarts, what about your favorite
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Hogwarts class?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Oh, for me, I gotta say Charms. I feel like
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Charms would be the most interesting just because it's like fun,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: little useful things. I don't know, No, Flitwick just seems
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: like fun.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: Probably defense against the Dark Arts.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's mine too, no reason necessarily for me either.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: I just think it's such a I don't know. I
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: think it's just such a cool class and learning about
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: like the Dark Arts is intriguing to me. And I
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: also like my honorable mention is potions. I think I'd
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: be terrible at it and it would frustrate me and
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: I wouldn't have the patience for it. But I feel
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: like if you can become like a master of potions,
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: like you're very formidable, like there's a lot that you
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: can like, I think it gives you a lot of
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: power to be good at potions. So I would hope
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: that I would, like, you know, be snape star student
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: and potions. But I have like a love of chemistry,
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: like in high school, so I feel like it's like
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: the that's the Muggle equivalent. But those two again, I
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: guess I'm sticking with my Slytherin Arts kind of kind
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: of theme, but those I think would be my two favorite.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: And then who is your favorite professor?
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: I gotta say Lupin. I love Lupin. He just seems
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: like that teacher that like actually cares about his students
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: as people and not necessarily like you know, what they learn.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Like obviously he wants them to learn, but he understands
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: them more like on a personal level than just oh,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: here's what I'm teaching and here's the result.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Like.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: No, he relates to Neville, he understands that Harry needs
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: somebody to talk to. He's like just more relatable.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: M Yeah, I think so too. I think Lupin is
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: a person who is genuinely, you know, passionate about what
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: he did. And everyone loved him, and you know, students
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: were like when Umbridge came to you know, take over everything,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: like they were like, Blupin was, you know, our best
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: teacher we ever had, And so I think he would.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: He was really, like you said, he related to each
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: of the students and everyone loved going to his classes.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: He was a good he was a great teacher, and
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: he cared about students learning more than just you know, okay,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: here's practice, here's here's three theory, here's practice just you know,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: pastor exam and you're it. No, he really wanted them
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: to take something from it and just make them become
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: better wizards. So yeah, he's he's definitely my favorite.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Two he's also my favorite or pretty much all the
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: reasons that you guys have already said, so I'm not
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: going to repeat them, but I think that it's I
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: think that he was you know, he was so suited
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: for defense against the Dark Arts, and it's such a
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: pity that it's a curse position. And we kind of
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: get we knew we weren't going to get him for longer,
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: because I think that that would have been great to
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: have him kind of, you know, still be around. Yeah.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I just love, just love Lupin.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: H Yeah. So while we're talking about professors, it seemed fitting,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: especially for this episode, to ask favorite McGonagall moments, because
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: she's had many. I I guess I'll kick us off
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: because I'm actually free reading Order of the Phoenix right
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: now and just finish this chapter. And it reminded me
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: how much I love this McGonagall moment when Umbradge is
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: doing her little inspections of all of the teachers in
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: their classes, and when she inspects McGonagall when Umbradge is like,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: I assume you got my letter as to this inspection
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: or something in Mcgattalll's Girls just says, well, yes, if
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I hadn't, I would have asked you why you're here?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I love you. It's such a good response, classic and
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: all the students of course are like watching it in awe, like, yes, you.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Tell her to me. I think this is not sure
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: if this was exactly in the book, but pure totin
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: locomotive scene in the films, and you know, she's just
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: when she casts it and she's like, I always wanted
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: to use that spell. It makes me always almost cry
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: because she's so happy and you see her like a
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: little child, just like I always wanted to do that,
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: and she's like, you know, just enjoying that moment, and
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: it's it's such a you know, it's such a sweet
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: when you get to see she's not just this you know,
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: authority and this you know, like very strict, she's also
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: you know, got this heart to her and she's got
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: this you know, inner child and she's you know, she's yeah,
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: that's probably the moment that really you know, makes me
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: feel like fondest of McGonagall. Just shows how powerful she is.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: But at the same time, how you know, sensitive she's
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: the same time, and.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I feel like we get that a lot, especially in
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: the movies, and the way that Maggie Smith portrays her
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: is so good that you talking about that just reminded
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: me of One of my favorite movement moments with McGonagall
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: in the movies is actually in Deathly Hallows Part two
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: when they're in the Great Hall and she just she's
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: like talking to Harry and she's like, what do you
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: need and he's like time. She's like, I'll make sure
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the castle is protected, and then she like turns to
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: walk away, but then she goes Potter and it just
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: like pauses and she goes, it's good to see.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: You, Just like, Yeah, I was a mess when I
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: watched that film, by the way, like from beginning to end,
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: I had to keep myself together because I would have
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: crumbled completely.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: It was hard to watch that movie in the movie theater. Yeah,
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: And I think that kind of like touching on what
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: you're just saiding to me, I think one of my
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: like I have a specific moment, but one of my
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: favorite like overarching I think McGonagall moments is just like
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: the transition of her from like being like Harry's like
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: professor to like Harry's friend kind of you know and
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: like and that and just the care and just beyond
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: like that relationship, beyond just being a professor. And I
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: think like that really shows like in you know, when
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: we get to Deathly Hallows. And for me, I was
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: kind of like thinking specifically like movie and just you know,
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Maggie's portrayal here is I love when. I just really
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: love all of like mcgonagall's interactions with Umbrage in general,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: But the one that came to mind was, you know
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: when Umbradge is, you know, trying to kick Tronnie out
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: and McGonagall comes over to like comfort her, and you know,
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Umbradge is like, is there something you have to say?
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: And McGonagall goes, oh, there are several things I'd like
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: to say, and I and I just picture just all
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: this expletives coming off of her mouth, like if she
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: actually like said all the things she wanted to say,
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: like and you know, just I just yeah, I love that,
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: And but I think some honorable mentions for me is
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: like you know, why is it always you three have
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: a biscuit Potter? There's just like she really has like
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: this is another reason too. Again why. I just really
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: want to go back and reread the books because I
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: think there were so many really good book McGonagall moments
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: that you know, didn't make it to the film, but
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: the ones that did make it to the film are
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: you know, are just great. And yeah, Maggie did a
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: great job for training them.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: Yeah m hm.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: So we always talked about our favorite book, but what
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: about favorite film?
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: So for me, it's Deathly Hallow's Part One, which I
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: feel like is I thought was always like a pretty
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: like not common.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Pick.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: But when we like pulled our whole Revellio staff to
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: do our like meet the social media team or meet
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: the team on social media, like the majority of us
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: picked Deadly Halli's Part one is our favorite film. And
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: I think that I just I love everything about this film,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: like there's not I remember I went into it with
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: such reservations because you know, this was the first time
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: that we ever had like a split film, and I
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: was like, how do you split it? Especially the first
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: half of Deathly House, right it's like a camping story,
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: Like how like how are we going to have a
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: engaging film that's about that first half of the book,
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: And like they did it, and I just love the
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: atmosphere of that film, the score of that film. I
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: think it's some of the best acting that we see
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: out of the Trio, and it just segued so perfectly
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: into Part two and like left you on such a cliffhanger.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Even though I knew what was coming, I still was
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: like on a cliffhanger, and I just yeah, I just
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: love that. I just love that film, like like full stop,
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: you know. But it's funny because I actually recently realized
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: that the film I rewatch the most is Chamber of Secrets.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Hmmm.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and I also really love that film.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm going to chime in because I'm one
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: of those people that Deadly Hell Is Part one is
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: my favorite, and I think it's really interesting because, like
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you said, it's like, how is this going to turn out?
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: It could have really tanked because it's an entire film
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: with basically just the trio, Like we don't have the
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: rest of our all star adult actor cast in this film.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: They come back in part two, but the Trio is
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: carrying this film and they did it, and it's just
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: so incredible to see that growth of we watched them
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: as little kids and then we get there, and just
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: the difference in how much they grew into their own
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: as actors in their own right is just so cool.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: But just also as like a total film nerd. Just
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: the cinematography in that film is amazing, Like it's so beautiful,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: the landscapes, just the way everything is shot is just
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: so good. And I had mentioned that Godric's Hollow is
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: like my favorite book chapter. That's also one of my
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: favorite parts of the films. The way that they translated
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: that into the film was so good and spot on.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: I loved it so much.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Oh and that scene remind I mean just yes, I
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: love that scene and then how it transitions into the
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: scene with Bethilda, and it's like they like captured that
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: so well, like even though it's like I knew what
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: was coming, but I still jumped, I still have Yeah,
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: And it's just and it's just so the film is
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: so dark in the theme like theme. But yeah, I
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: think I'm gonna go watch after we're done recording, because
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: now I just don't want to watch it.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Yeah, to me, it's not my favorite, but everything you've
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: said is so on point, and.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: We'll forgive you, okay.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Just like the Frozen butter Beer. I guess it's okay,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: you cause still hang out with us.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Frozen butter Beer. We have to make a poll and
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: see how many we get for Frozen and how many
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: we get for Hot.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Yes, Nonna regular.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: I just what I loved about Deathly Hollows is that
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: it's such a psychological film and for the first time,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: it's not a film revolving about you know, so much
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: about magic or around like the school, and you know,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: it's such a different film, and it has a darker
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: and much more adult tone to it, and I just yeah,
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: I think it's by far the best acting of the
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: trio in all eight films, because they really gave them
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: the chance to explore their characters in depth. So you
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: get to see different sides to Hermione and to Ron
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: and to Harry, like very dark sides to each of
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: these characters, especially Ron, and so I think it's for
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: what we could have expected it to be, like, oh,
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: what are we you know, are we just going to
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: see a film about camping. We get so much more
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: and we get these characters to develop everything, like all
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: of the moments we were missing from the trio in
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: the last few films. Because they didn't have that much
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: time together. They acted more as sidekicks of Harry and
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: the later films, but this, you know, they take the forefront.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: They're there, they are you know, and it's such a
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: it's the trio is carrying the whole film. And I
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: think they did a brilliant job. And like you said,
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: the music is beautiful and cinematography and the shots and everything,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: but in my case, I have to give it to
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Prisoner of Azkaban. Yeah, just because it was such a
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: change in the in the esthetic of the films. I
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: remember watching the trailers and saying, oh, no, Like the
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: logo went from you know, now it's you know, it's silver.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: It's kind of like it went from gold to silver.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: And the you know, everything is changing, and the castle
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: looked different, and the uniforms look different, and the wants
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: are different, and it was like all these things and
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: I was like, I wasn't sure how it's going to feel,
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: but it ended up being such an amazing immersive experience
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: and taking the castle to the Scottish highlands into these
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: breath taking, you know, landscapes just makes it so much
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: more real and tangible, and it's it's something that Really
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: when I watched that film, I always you know, felt
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: that longing and saying, Oh, I need to go there. Someday,
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: I need to visit that place. I need to go
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: to where Hagrit's Hut was filmed. Everything is just so
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: perfectly done and crafted and so much love was put
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: into that film. And I also feel like it's the
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: first film where the actors start to take a step
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: forward and their perform insists, and they start, you know,
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: getting more layers. Like they were giving these questionnaire and
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: you know, all phone so what they expected of each character.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: So Emma drew like these like I don't know, it
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: was like ten pages back in front, and then Daniel
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: did one ron you know, Rupert didn't even deliver it
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: the essay it was so you know, so it's kind
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: of like an opportunity where they kind of explore their
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: characters too, and they kind of found their own identity
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: and it's darker and it's kind of like you know,
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: like you guys said at the beginning, the book also
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: just kind of like starts setting that tone for what's
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: to come, and you know that it's not good. You
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: know that it's not going to be something is about
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: to happen, and it's kind of foreshadowing that, and you know,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: the characters introduced. Everything is just so beautifully done. The cinematography,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: the score, it's by far my favorite score, John Williams.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: Really true.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so there's no way I can ever. You know,
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: that's probably one of my favorite all time movies. So
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: it's kind of you know to me that that is, yeah,
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: my ultimate Harry Potter. But Deadly Hollows is a brutal film. Yeah,
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: like I love it.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, POA is definitely like just under Deathly Hallow's Part
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: one for me. Okay, like it's like almost tied.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: Page there.
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: I mean, I would say it's definitely not a controversial opinion.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: I think most people like absolutely love Prisoner Rescue Band
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: and say it's their favorite. And I think book and film,
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: I think Prisoner Rescue Man tends to like take the cake.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: You know, it's just so good.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: It is you can't go wrong, and it's it's funny
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: because it's like I mean, I think also with the film,
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: but like with the book, I mean, I feel like
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: so much like happened in that story and it's like
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: not the longest book, you know, and but I feel
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: like in a way, it's the one that had the
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: most like going on in a way, and I like
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: was nervous about how, like they it was going to
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: translate into a film and how we were going to
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: especially do like the time travel stuff at the end,
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: like how that was going to translate to the film.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: And I think that like Alfonso did such a great
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: job in translating it, and gosh, yeah, I just I
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: just love Hermione's line of like, oh is that what
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: my hair looks like from the back, And it's just
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: it's just so funny because it's like I mean, I
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: feel it's just yeah, it's just such a good line
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: and just the way that they did.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: That and where it's like flying around. Yes, I love that.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: And I think the whole like shrieking like shack scene,
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: like Lupin's transformation into a werewolf. I loved that scene
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: so good. Terrifying as a child, yeah, terrifying, yeah, but
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: so good. Snape stepping in between like loop and werewolf
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: and the kids.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: I love that old yeah, yeah, interferes and kind of
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: like protects the kids. It's like it shows that he
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: you know, deep inside, he's like okay, I'm going to
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: risk my life for these kids if I have to.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: But you know, I almost like, oh.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: But I don't want to, but I'll do it.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: But I'll do it.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm going to do it.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it's so good.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: I love that. And then yeah, just yeah, and then
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: just you know, serious having to like you know, step
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: in and with Lupin and I just it's it's such
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: a tear jerker because it's like, you know who it is,
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: you know in there, and just the Dementors are so
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: good and they're the quiddit scene in that film. You
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: almost have me rethinking my favorite film. It's not it's
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: not We're not there.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: I was going to say, I was going to say,
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: I wonder if she's you know, but there's there is.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Such great moments in that, all the moments where the
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Dementors are coming and they use ice freezing stuff. It's
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: just such a cool visual cue of yeah, here comes
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: the Dementors without even seeing them, you know that.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: And like I think the sound design is really great
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: in that film too, with that and just yeah, I
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: mean at the end, the way they portrayed the kiss,
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: I think, like, yeah, I just I mean, I really
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: just I mean, hats off to Alfonso, Like I really
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: think you did a great job with that, and to
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: you know, step in after you know, the first two
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: films which were very similar, you know, they have the
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: same look and everything and feel, and to really come
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: through and say no, I'm gonna like really shake things
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: up here.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and after those first two films were so successful too,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: Like that's risky, Like it'd be different if the first
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: two films were not successful and you're like, oh, we
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: got to change things to like make this work. But
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: to come in and change things from a formula that
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: is working working, like that's a major risk and it
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: paid off because look at how many decisions he made
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: in that film that are iconic Wizarding World imagery now
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: that continue through the rest.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Absolutely yes.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: And something else I love about that film that it's
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: the last film that we get to see them attending classes.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: So that's something that I love. I go back to
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: that same thing. But it's like you go and you
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: want to watch film where you know, you get to
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: see the students and their their lives and how it so,
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: you know, you get divination, you get defense against dark arts,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: you get care magical creatures. So you get like all
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: of these things that I love, and I know that
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: you know, these things were crucial to the story, hence
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: why they were included and why you know, many of
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: the classes on the movies that came after were left out.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: But it just it really encompasses everything and just makes
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: it so so like such a great year to watch.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Because if it's like, if you want the full Hogwarts experience,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: watch Prisoner of Azkabat, you get war wolves, you get traveling,
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: you know, time travel to get everything.
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: It's yeah, yeah, yeah. So speaking of films, there's stuff
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: that was in the films that was not in the books.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: So what is your favorite filmsm so to speak?
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: I think I have to say it's a moment that
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: is in the books, but it's not explicit, and it's
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: probably going back to Deathlee Hall's part one Hermione's torture scene.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: So we do get to hear her screams, we do
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: get to hear how she's being tortured, but we never
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: get to see the extent of it. And the way
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: that Helena and Emma did it was you know, I
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: remember I was like, at one point I was watching
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: that scene, and at a cinema, I was like, am
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: I watching Harry Potter Like this seems so like almost
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: R rated to me?
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: So chilling.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and it's so well done. I think they
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: both really hit it off and they were like hanging
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: out and stuff, so they kind of like, really, you know,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: just to build up for that scene and make it perfect,
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: and they really did it. And it's one of those
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: things that I think it is great to see on
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: screen because it's things that otherwise we wouldn't have lived
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: because we were living everything through Harry's eyes. So I
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: think it's those moments that we get to see, like
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: in third person, that happened in films, and this is
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: probably one of the most intense ones that we get
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: to experience. How about you.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: For me, I love the yule ball dancing lesson in
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Goblet of Fire. I just think it's so funny. I
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: mean that scene has like the iconic band of bumbling,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: babbling baboons or whatever.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: Again shout out to Maggon Ould too, Queen Maggie.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Rupert looks so uncomfortable. It is so fabulous. I love
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: it in Felch in the Record Player.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Now that you mentioned that Bonnie Wright tweeted. She posted
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: on Instagram and she said that I think it was
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: one of her fondest memories was with Maggie was shooting
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: that scene. She talked about the Yule ball lesson and yeah,
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: it's just.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Such a good scene.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: It's such a good scene. I think for me, I
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: had two that kind of came to mind when I
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: was thinking about it. So the first is Snape finding
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Lily's body after she's murdered by Baltimore when we're in
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: that Prince's Tail scene, and Worth looking back on the memories,
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: I think that that was such a great addition cinematography,
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: like it just to be in just like the cinematography
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: of that scene, but just to be like in a film.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: I think that was really impactful. And just that whole scene.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: I just love that whole scene. And then and the
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: other one is Harry and Hermione dancing in the tent
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: and definitely Hall's part one to the song O Children
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: as somebody who grew up a Harry Hermione shipper. I
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: really liked that scene. But at the same time I
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: think that like that scene really encompassed like the root
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: of their relationship. I mean, I don't want to say,
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: dare I say better than even a scene in like
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: the books, But like I think there was just something
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: about that that scene and the way that like Dan
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: and Emma did it, it's just yeah, it's just really great.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: I just love that.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, I love that scene and it gets
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: so much hate. But like I.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Maybe because Dan plays it a little funny, but he's
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: trying to make her mine laugh and that's their relationship.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Maybe the people have learned to appreciate that scene a lot.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Like in the books, I really enjoy the
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: moments where it's Harry and Hermione hanging out, like usually
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: when Harry and Ron have had some little snipfit fight.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: So I yeah, I liked it because I felt like
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: it really yeah, it was. It was a nice way
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: to see the dynamics of the Harry Hermione friendship for sure.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: M I mean they have such a special relationship that
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: I think that you know, Ron and Harry would never
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: have and Hermione and Ron would never have. Like there's
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: just that kind of like sibling like relationship that you know. Obviously,
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Like I said, I was a shipper for a while,
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: but I came to realize it was more platonic, you know,
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: over time, and I love him with Jay so but
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: that really just encompassed their yeah, just their dynamic.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Because when you watch the film, it's like they're about
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: to lean for a kiss, like you kind of get
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: that feeling until she's kind of like, what it's not here,
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: this is not it. No, No, I'm missing my I'm
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: missing my man. You know, this is not and she
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: needs Ron and that's where you kind of like even
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: I was a you know, Harry and Hermione shipper, but
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: when I see that, it's like she's so so torn
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: and when you know they are like operating to different
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: plays and she starts crying and that's such a you know,
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: heartbreaking scene, and Harry it's like so pissed and he's like,
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: I'm not going to deal with this now, so I'm
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: just going to put the protective charms. And but you
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: see Hermione just want to hug her hugger because she
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: you know, I think definitely Hollows is kind of like
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: what really makes you see how much love these two
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: characters have and how much you know they've evolved and
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: they're they're meant to be, they're definitely meant to be.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: Yeah. So sticking with the films here for a little bit,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: what is your favorite film score? There are so many wonderful.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: Well I already said mine, so yeah, Priser of Azkaban,
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: you know you got Double Trouble, you got a new
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: like reinterpretation of Heatweek's theme with Lumos. Everything about it
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: like window into the past. Yes, the flight, yeah, but
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: window to the past is wow. You can just imagine
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: yourself just in the you know, sitting in the glimph
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: and and viaduct, just putting that on and just yes, yes,
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: so good.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: I will say when I lived in Scotland and I
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: would like take train rides places like I always listen
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: to Harry Potter. It's like such a such a moodsetter,
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: so I one agree it just it just helps fit
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: that fit that vibe. Yes, yeah, I think like for me,
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: this this is again with the theme for me here,
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: it's really hard for me to pick because, like I'm
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: somebody where, like the main type of music I listened
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: to on the daily basis is like film score type music.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: So that's that's just like what I listened to with
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: some Taylor Swift thrown in but yeah, so it's really
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: hard for me to narrow this down, and as you'll see,
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: I didn't really narrow it down. I think overall my
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: favorite score, like if I had to pick, you know,
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: overall for favorite film, it's two. It's Dathly Hallows Part
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: one and Deathly Hallow's Part two as like, ah like
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: listening to it, like front TOI like front to back.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: I think some of my specific favorites from those scores
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: are Snape to Malfoy manor Sky Battle destroying the Lockett
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: is like that that music, that scene is love that
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: love that scene, the Elder wand the song that finishes
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: that film, just a build up at the end from
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: Part two, Lily's theme Atues the Gray Lady Courtyard Apocalypse,
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: like there's just there's just so there's such good music
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: in those two films. But obviously, you know, I have
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: to give a shout out to, you know, iconic John
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: Williams scores. I mean, some specific favorites of mine are obviously,
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: you know, like Headwig's theme, Harry's Wondrous World, Fox the Phoenix,
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: like those have become such iconic pieces of the Wizarding World,
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: and from Prisoner of azk Command. Yes, Buckbeek's Flight is
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: one of my favorite, a Window to the Past as well.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Some of my other favorites are Harry in Winter from
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: Goblet of Fire. Yes, yeah, the Black Lake from Goblet
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: of Fire. Order the Phoenix is actually probably my least
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: favorite score. I couldn't really pick out necessarily like a
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: favorite piece there, but from Halfwood Prints, Journey to the Cave,
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: and Fury in the Firestorm. Love those pieces, and I
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: also have some honorable mentions from Fantastic Beasts films as well.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: They have all scores too, So all of mine are
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: actually from Crimes of Grindelwald because that's my favorite score
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: of the three. So the Blood Packed, Lada's Confession and
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: Wands into the Earth are some of my favorite. That's
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: a yeah, So I just listed a ton but those
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: are those?
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Are you more prepared than I did?
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: Yeah? I This one was really hard for me because
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: I really love A Window to the Past. I think
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: that's like one of my favorite pieces of Harry Potter
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: music ever. But I also love Lily's theme and like
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: when it came down to it though, like for actual score,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: I had to say Sorcerer's Stone because, like you said Nicole, like,
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: just those pieces that are the Wizarding World, like, they're
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: all in that score. So yeah, that's what I picked.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: But there's so many good ones. And like you're talking
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: about Goblet of fire Neville's waltz, yeah so good. Yeah,
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: they're so good. Yeah, the double double toile in Trouble
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Prince of rask Man, like that was an amazing move
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: to have the choir so good. Yeah, there's so many
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: good ones.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: I don't know a from Blood Prince.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: That the opening, the opening, and then in Noctom it's
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: just that I know a lot of people hate on
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: that film, but like there's a lot of that. There's
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: a lot of that film that I really love, and
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: I think like the score of that film like really
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: elevates a lot of that. Yes, the scenes in those
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: films in that.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: Film, yeah yeah. And then if we're talking Fantastic Beast,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: Jacob's theme from the first film so good. It just
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: fits him.
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: I think. Yeah, I mean there's just such good pieces,
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: and I think, like, you know, obviously, you know, always
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: bow down to the legend that is John Williams, but
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: I think that you know, the the later scores also
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: held their weight and held them just you know, just
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: as much. And I think when he kind of like
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: when we kind of found out that he was like
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: leaving from film, you know, scoring the films, I think
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: there's always it's very similar. And like, you know, obviously
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: I'm in the Star Wars fandom as well, very similar
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: there too, now that we're getting all this new Star
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Wars content, and John Williams isn't scoring it. It's like,
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: but he does the iconic pieces. But I think that,
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: you know, there are so many great film composers out
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: there that can really you know, rise to meet the occasion.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: And also like it's like every every composer that came
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: through had the right vibe for every film, Like they
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: were able to like perfectly capture the vibe of that film.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: Like I don't know if I see John Williams scoring
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: Deathly Hallows like to be honest, like thinking of his
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: just his scores in general, I think it was so
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: fitting that he had those the first especially the first two.
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: Yes, especially like it applies to directors as well, like
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: Crits Columbus, Like you see, it's fitting that he directed
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: those first two because it was he was dealing with children.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: But maybe for later films like Alfonso was the perfect
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: position for these preteens or almost like teens, and then
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: like moving forward and then you know, like I think
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: each it happens with the scores as well, like they
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: are all fitting to the film they pertain to. So yeah,
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: that was that was also really special. Yeah, So what's
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: your favorite story continuation of the Wizarding World? Is it
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: Churs Child or Fantastic Beasts.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: Definitely Fantastic Beasts for me, for sure, that surprise.
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely Fantastic Beasts.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, me too. Great show by the way, Chris Child,
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: it's great, great theater performance, like everything is. I think
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: it's one of the if not the best show I've
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: been to. I have my reservations about Chris Child obviously
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: since it came out, but when you go and you
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: get to see that play in person, you're like, Okay,
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: this is why they made this, this is why they
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: made that. Everything seems to make sense for the play,
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: right And from that standpoint, it's like, yes, yes, it's
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: it's brilliant and I would go to see it again
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: without a doubt. But story wise, and you know, what
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: would you know what constituates you know, a better story. Obviously,
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: it's fantastic beasts for sure.
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: I think, like, yeah, the theater magic of Curse Child
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: is like enough to make you kind of like forget
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: about some of the plot stuff. But I also think
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: there's some really great plot elements of Curse Child that
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: I think are really important. I think my favorite part
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: of Cursechild is the exploration of Draco's character as an
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: adult and kind of like the bit of like redemption
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: we get there, and how great of like a father
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: he actually is just Scorpius, and also just the relationship
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: that kind of ends up forming like with him and Harry,
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: and just one of my favorite parts of that is
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: like his admission of like I was always like envious
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: of the relationship that you had, you know, with Hermione
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: and Ron, because you know what I mean, he didn't
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: have that kind of relationship with Crab and Oyle, you know.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: And I think that I do really like Draco's character
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: in a lot of ways, because again, I like that
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: tragic story and I think that he was not redeemable,
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: Like he's still not redeemable in a lot of ways,
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: but he also is very tragic and he's also kind
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: of like that juxtaposition to serious a little bit, like
- 1:40:20Speaker 3: how I was talking about how like Sirius was born
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: into this family that he didn't know that just had
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: these pre ideals, and Sirius was like, no, like I'm
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: not having any of that. This My family's racist, Like
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: I'm getting out of this, where like Draco had the
- 1:40:35Speaker 3: opposite of that. He stayed in it and he let
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: it become him as well, and then eventually realized later
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: on when he was already into far and into deep
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: that like, wait, there's problems here. And I think that,
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: like Cursechild does a really good job exploring that, and
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: even just Harry's character and Curse Child as well, like
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: like you know, yeah, we end with like all as well,
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: like it was never all going to be well, you know,
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: And I think that like that kirs Child did a
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: really good job at exploring that and like the after
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: effects and what they what what everything, what him being
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: Harry Potter, that effect on his children, you know. And
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: so yeah, there are some really great things about.
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: Curse Child, Harry's Harry's scenes with Dumbledore's portrait are very touching, yes,
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: and I think they capture the characters so well, even
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: though the plot line is a little out there, like
- 1:41:37Speaker 2: the essence of the characters is there. You are literally
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: seeing Ron and Hermione and Harry through a different lens
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: of course, but it's still them. And the dialogue that
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: he has with with Dumbledore has with Harry is so
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: genuine and it's it's so like it could have been
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: part of one of the books.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: It's uh, very touching and you know, heartworm warming moment
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: that you know, make you appreciate that when they get
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: to see how the you know, and Harry and his
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: family see how his parents were murdered by Baltimore, that
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: they have to see that, it's such you know, it
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: made me cry literally I was in theater less, you know,
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: it's so emotional and it just Yeah, I think there
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: are parts of it that are definitely worth worth mentioning.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: M I think that it's like the part that's so
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: hard about that story is like DELFI and like our
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: new character. Right, It's like it's like all of our
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: established characters were like great and the essence of them
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: were there, but then it's like this new character that
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: we threw in that kind of was like but not
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: but not even all the new characters, because I love
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: Scorpius so much. Yeah, so precious and so like some
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: of the new characters were great, but like I mean,
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: you could even argue that he is not even necessarily
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: a new character because like you know, in the epilogue
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: we know that them as children, but like Delfy is
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: like this actually this new character, and it's like the
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: weakest part of all of it. Yeah, and yeah, it's
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: just kind of sometimes it can kind of overshadow all
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: those really great moments.
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: But yes, Snape sacrificing himself, that's also very wholesome moment.
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: It's so nice. Like every it's very emotional, Like I
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: didn't that doesn't you know, it doesn't. It translates well
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: into like a stage. But when you read it, it's
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: like that kind of get lost in there. But when
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: you actually see it, okay, I don't remember, you know,
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: welling up in this bart and now I am, like,
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: I'm very emotional, and it's it's really well, it's really
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: well done.
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: I agree. Yeah, but Fantastic Beast was better.
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: We don't have weird, weird children, you know, coming from
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: the from Baltimore and Bellatrix or weird.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: No, and then just yeah, just the use of the
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: time Turner, and I think I think it was hard
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: because I think, like with that show, it's like you
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: kind of needed to bring in like that nostalgic piece,
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: and so it made sense why it wasn't set entirely
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: in a new thing and how they're like, all right,
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: we're gonna use this time turner to like go back
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: to moments that people know about, because especially like as
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: a theater show, when you're trying to appeal to like
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: the greater masses, it's like you have to have I
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: feel like you do have to have those elements in
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: there that are familiar to people that maybe only saw
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: the films and are only aware of the films. So
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: I get why the whole plot was like we're gonna
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: go back and try to save Cedric and like what
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: that does and everything. But I find it so hard
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: to wrap my brain around somebody telling me that that
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: story is canon. Like when I watched Goblet of Fire.
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: Now I'm thinking about Kursechild sometimes and in the moments,
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh, no, no, no, it's I think
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: moments of it are cannon, you know, Like I said,
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: this were this, these these conversations between Draco and Harry
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: or that conversation between Harry and Dumbledore's portrait. I can
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: see that being Cannon, but the major plot line, like,
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: I just can't. I can't get on board with it
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: being I can't.
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Harry's afraid of pigeons, by the way, Yeah.
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: Like he's gonna defeat the one of the darkest wizards
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: of all time, but gosh darn it of a pigeon
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: flies in front of him.
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: Okay, So do you have a favorite video game?
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: It's interesting, Uh, how Worst Legacy? I think it tops
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: them all for me before that probably probably like the
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: old PlayStation Quidditch game I was real good at that.
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: You have to believe the new one? Yeah, Twitch, how
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: about you, Nicole?
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: I think for me right now, it's probably Lego Harry Potter.
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: And the only reason for this is because I still
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: haven't started Hogwarts Legacy. I pre ordered the Deluxe edition
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: and it's still wrapped collecting some dust on my shelves.
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: So I'm sure maybe once I start playing it, that
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: will probably become my favorite just because of the scope
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: of it. So for now, I'm gonna say little Lego Harry.
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: Potter, so up there. Yeah for me too, it's so good.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: My favorite one is though, Prisoner of Azkaban for PlayStation two.
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: It's very specific, but I love it. I love that,
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: you know, you get to write Buckbeek and you get
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: to explore the castle and you get to you know,
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: just fly around everywhere you want. You have to collect potions,
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: ingredients for potions, cass, you have to you know, you
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: have challenges, and it's a great it's a great it's
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: a very fun game. There's a lot of puzzles, a
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: lot of you know, like very fun moments that make
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: you really have to like, Okay, what do I have
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: to do here? And you know, there's a lot of
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: like thinking and it's very fun. That you get to
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: play as Harry Ron and Hermione. I think that's one
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: of the best things. And each of them has like
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: an a specific skill that makes them stand out from
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: the other. So it's very strategic and I really love
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: that game. But other than that, I I kind of
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: love all of them because I was always a Yeah,
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: I'm not a huge like gamer, but I did play
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: every single one of those games when they came out,
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: and I remember except for Goblet of Fire and which
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: I I want to forget ever existed.
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: I had that on the I think that was the
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: first Harry Potter game I got, which I'm kind of
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: surprised because like I actually like had I mean, I
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: played PlayStation way more as a child than I do now,
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: and so I don't know why. I never like played
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: any of those other games. But I had the Goblet
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: of Fire game on the Game Boy Advance. I had
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: the Little Purple see through a game Boy Advance. I
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: had that Goblet of Fire game, and I did not
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: like get.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: Remember the Chamber of Secrets one where you got to
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: like dnumb the garden and there's the whole game with
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: spitting my nase around it throwing him so fun.
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: I was so into the game site I actually had emulators,
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: so I had PlayStation one emulators and I would run
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: them on my PC and they would run at like
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: ten frames per second. So you've got Harry like walking
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: in slow motion, just trying to get somewhere. But I
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: was like, so, I was so into the game, was like, yes,
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: let's do this, let's do this, and it was, yeah,
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: it was fun.
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: I still have my like original PlayStation. I might have
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: to like track down to see if I can like
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: find like some of the game like the like older
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: games like Resale.
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: I bet you could on eBay.
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, definitely. So how about your character want? What's
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: your favorite character want?
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: Ooh, I love Hermione's with the vines. I also really
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: love Leita's from Fantastic Beasts. I think that one's really cool.
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: And then I like Newts because it's got like the
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: end has like the shell like part of a shell
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: like on the inside. It's very cool.
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: I also had Lda on my list, and I also
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: really like snapes wand which is also actually kind of
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: similar to Alda's, like in a way like the black
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: would like design the like a design on the end,
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: and like ironically I don't like I don't own either
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: of those two wands, like of all the ones I own,
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: I don't own those two. Yet. It doesn't help now
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: that Universal has all the interact like we talked about
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: last week, they all have the little interactive nub on them,
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: so now I can't even get them there. But yeah,
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: I just love the like subtle detail on those ones.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: I know for a while, like serious As was my favorite,
- 1:50:33Speaker 3: just with all the ruins in and I do have
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: that was Actually I think the first character one I
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: ever bought was his. And yeah, I also just I
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: also love the Elder Wand as well, but yeah, I
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: definitely Snape and Ladas are probably my two favorite mm hmm.
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: To me, I my favorite has to be Harry's wand
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: because it's it's it's so important. It's like so it's hairy,
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: it's and I just love it so much and it
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: brings me back to my childhood when I would like
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: play around pretending to be Harry Potter and I just
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: wanted to have its wand and so I just yeah,
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: I love it. I love it, and it's I love
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: how it's like has this kind of like tree, kind
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: of like branch thing like it's very it's very how
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: can I say, it's very like rustic? Yes, yes, and
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: I just I.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Just picked up this wood and I carved it.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I love about it. It's like it's
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: you know. And I love Hermione's too. I love Lupin's
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: wand I love the handle. It's very and it's very thin.
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: Like I only got to purchase it a while ago,
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: just very recently, but I've always wanted it, but I
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: it was always out of stock, and it's yeah, I it,
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: I love it. I just want to say ridiculous every
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: time I hold it. Mcgonagall's is pretty epic too, and yeah,
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: oh and mutes Wand is pretty interesting too because I
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: love the carves, the carvings. It has like of you know,
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: probably possibly it's been you know, kind of like by creature,
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: so it's kind of like it's not I feel like
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: it's when they describe the one, it was like it
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: was kind of like worn out a little bit from
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: scratches and so.
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: And stuff for him like holding it in his mouth.
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So I think it's it really makes it have
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: like much more personality and it has like a story
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: behind it. So I love that part. I love I
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: love that that little bit.
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: Next up, what is your favorite theme park ride or
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: attraction and also maybe even adding to this, like which
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: is like your favorite like of the theme parks.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: I think diagon Alley is definitely my favorite park side
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: of the parks. A favorite ride though, that one's hard.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: I really like Forbidden Journey. I don't know something about it.
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: I just really really like that one.
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I was gonna say that too for Breton Journey
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: without a doubt, just because I remember going to the
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: park and just riding that for the first time and
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: literally feeling like I was entering Hogwarts because there was
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: still I hadn't been to the Stuart tour. I think
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: the street tour was still not open. It was the
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: only way we could actually like enter the castle and literally, yeah,
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: everything is just magical, like you're not even bored because
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: you're just immersed in this universe from the get go,
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: and just everything about it. Like I remember, you know,
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: getting emotional on the right, I get emotional about everything,
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: but this first time I went on this ride and
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: I got Harry Hermione and Ron talking to me and
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: just you know, it was it was unforgettable.
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: Did you say your favorite Which of your favorite side
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: of your park is your favorite?
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: I'd say hogs Meat. Yes, I love diagon Alley, but
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: hoggs Meat. It's just like home, feels like home. That's
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: what is so special about it.
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if I can pick which side
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: is my favorite, like I think, like I think initially,
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: like I want to say diagon Alley because it's just
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: it's just so expansive, But there is something about Hogsmead
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: like some charm, like it has a charm about it
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: that and it's kind of like exactly how you described
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: it earlier, Amy, when you were talking about like your favorite,
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: like when we were talking about favorite Wizarding World location,
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: and just like how you described Hoggsmead, they really captured that.
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: And I think you feel that.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: You know, yeah, because Amy's favorite is Hogsmead. My favorite
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: sigon Alley. But when it comes to parks, her favorite
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: is my favorite.
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: Yeah, And I'm just the rogue one that can't pick.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: I just like it.
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: Don't make me choose, Yeah, And I think for like
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: theme park ride, I think, like I echo to with
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: Forbidden Journey, I think, especially for theming, the actual ride
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: mechanism is starting to make me a little motion sick
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: for that actual ride, which is really upsetting to me,
- 1:55:37Speaker 3: so that docks it down maybe like a little bit
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: for me. But for theming like one that ride, I
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: think for like actual ride, like not looking at theming,
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: probably Hagrid's Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure, just because it's so fun.
- 1:55:53Speaker 3: But then I also have Escape from kring Got, so like,
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: don't make me choose, like they're all so good and
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: in their own way, and they're all such different experiences.
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: And of course like flight a hippogriff too is you know,
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: throw that into that's great, but they all like give
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: you something different, you know, and it's like so there,
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: it's really hard to choose, but I think absolutely there's
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: something about Forbidden Journey. I mean to really feel like,
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: you know, you're flying over Hogwarts and you know the
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: animatronics that are in that too. Yeah, like you said,
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: Tom to like having the characters like talk, you know,
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: write to you, and with the spiders and the Dementors
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: and like the way they did the womping willow and
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: then bam, like there's the Chamber of Secrets and it's
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: just like every two seconds you're just getting slapped with
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: every bit of Harry pottern Is that you can think of.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: There's no break, there's no reprieve, And so I think
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: like that ride is really great for like for that reason.
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: So even though it makes me feel a little motion sick,
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: I'll still pick that one as my favorite. But yes,
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: they're all great. They're all great, so good. And the
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: last question that we kind of wanted to tackle is
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: what is do you have a favorite piece of merch
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: that you own.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: Hm hmm, I'll get back to you on that one.
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: I think it have to be some of like the
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: wall art work that I have, Like in my living room.
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: I've got the big print of the Jim K. Sorcerer's
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: Stone cover with the Hogwarts express and that's like one
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: of my favorite pieces. And then I have one that
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: I got at the was it History of Magic? Yeah,
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: the History of Magic exhibit. It's like it's the quote
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: of the Floody Temptress Adventure is Dumbledore and Harry on
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: the Rock. It's just a really pretty poster. Yeah. And
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: then I have the movie poster from Fantastic Beasts that
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: they were giving out at New York Comic Con that
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: year before it came out, and so I got it
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: signed by Dan Fogler because he was there. And then
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: when I did press week for that movie, I got
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: it signed by Alison Sudall and David Hayman as well.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: So that's all framed up. So those are like my favorites,
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: like my walart.
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: To me, it's probably a very specific item. It changes
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: a lot because I have a lot of things that
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: I've collected over the years and they become more like
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: rarities at this point or so I have Hermione's Noble
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: Collection in her magic bag, her.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: The Beated.
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Yes, so I have her like the original beat It
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: back that has been discontinued, and it's one of the
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: most the most you know, looked up items online and
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: so I got one secondhand. I didn't buy it off
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: Noble Collection, but it it is from you know, I
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: had to pay tons more. Yeah, but it's probably one
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: of the most like rarest probably items I have right now.
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: That's the one I can think of at the top
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: of my head.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, it's hard because it's like like
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: you said, Tom, it's like, especially when you've been a
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: fan for so long, you just like collect so much stuff,
- 1:59:49Speaker 3: and I think, like, yeah, I mean I have some
- 1:59:53Speaker 3: art pieces that I really like. You know, I have
- 1:59:57Speaker 3: Amina Lima print that I got at the House of
- 1:59:59Speaker 3: Meina Lima in the like original shop in London that's
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: like the Hogwarts Crest and I'd love to get more
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: pieces from, you know, from that collection. I have like,
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: you know, all of the little postcards that they've done
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: of the print. So I mean I love that, like
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: I love all of my different coffee table like art
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: books I do. I own a copy of Sorcerer's Stone
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: in Irish and Icelandic that I bought when I traveled
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: to those places. I had this idea of like, whenever
- 2:00:28Speaker 3: I travel places, I'm gonna get like Crossers Stone in
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: that language, and for some reason, I only ended up
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: getting those two. I wanted a copy of it in
- 2:00:37Speaker 3: scots and I was like, I literally lived in Scotland.
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: I'm like, how did I never get this? But I
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: really like those two pieces. But I don't know. I mean,
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: I also like my pin collection as well, so it's yeah,
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: it's really hard to choose. I mean, I have some
- 2:00:54Speaker 3: WANs that I really like as well, Like I have
- 2:00:57Speaker 3: especially the I Think we Talked. I did mention this
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: in our last episode, the like non character ones, those
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: are really cool. And I also have a piece from
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: Pottery Barn It's like the time turner clock and I
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: really really like that, you know. I have like from Sensey,
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: the Hogwarts Warmer Wax Warmer. So like there's a lot.
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: I don't think I can I don't think I can pick,
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: but I think, like, yes, you know, but I think
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: as I've gotten older, I think my style of the
- 2:01:26Speaker 3: type of stuff. Oh and then I just thought of
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: all the ornaments that I've got at Universal over the years.
- 2:01:31Speaker 3: You know, like I swear all Amy and I buy
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: when we go there as ornaments, and I love those,
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: And you know, it's like, as you get older, you
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: kind of start to like, I don't know, it's you know,
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: I went through my phase of liking funkos and just
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: getting a ton of funk gos, and I still display
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: the ones that I love the most, But you know,
- 2:01:49Speaker 3: those are I would at one time I would say
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: those were probably my favorite piece of merch, especially some
- 2:01:53Speaker 3: of the more rare funkos that I have. Now they're nice.
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, I don't know, it changes.
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: I don't really pick a favorite there. I just listed
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: a lot of them.
- 2:02:05Speaker 1: But yeah, that's kind of your theme episode I love.
- 2:02:10Speaker 2: I'm a huge sucker for the Time Turners, so I
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: have like every variant this has come out. I have
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: the Japanese version, I have the Wizarding World version, I
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: have the Noble Collection version, Noble Collection version number two.
- 2:02:22Speaker 2: I have the Sticker Kid collection. I have like six
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: or seven types of Time Turners. I just love that
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: prop so much. And yeah, it's it's it's very like
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: like things that you know, sometimes you have like a
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: little thing for a specific prop or something, and you
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: just want to get every single variant there is of it,
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: or the most screen accurate one. So it's a lot
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: of fun. I love collecting, and I hope to keep
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: on collecting in the future.
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that was a way longer discussion
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: than we anticipated about our favor Brits. But obviously we
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: have a lot of favorites, so there's plenty to talk
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: about there. We've learned Nicole cannot narrow things down. There
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: could be feuds about the best kind of butter beer.
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: And we all have a controversial, shared, controversial opinion that
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: we love Deathly Hellos part one, So yeah, there's that.
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: I'm like the purser of Azkaban, but he.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: Also loved Deathly Hallows.
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: This is true.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: How can you pick that's.
- 2:03:32Speaker 3: The theme of this episode? How can we pick that?
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: Should?
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: Now you're just trying to sway us.
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I will, I will, you know, but I'm just gonna,
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: you know, I'm gonna make you change your minds in
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: the course of the year.
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: We'll see, we'll see how that goes to be continued.
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: To be continued, it's noise. So for our next segment,
- 2:04:08Speaker 2: we asked you last week what are you most looking
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: forward to in the Epic Universe Wizarding World edition. So
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: we had a few of our listeners give in their
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: opinions and we have Cherry C who said, what I'm
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: most looking forward to in the new theme park is
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: the show. I want to see these creatures and hopefully
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: newt After that, the queue for the ride and the
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: general Wizarding paris come next. I will make myself actually
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: ride the ride at least once, but rides are not
- 2:04:37Speaker 2: really my thing. Also the interactive ones with creatures. This
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: might actually inspire me to buy an interactive one instead
- 2:04:44Speaker 2: of just watching others use theirs. Felicia says the ride,
- 2:04:51Speaker 2: of course, but also Cafe Lair the Las Sierne. I
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: can't spell that correctly. There goes my six years of
- 2:05:01Speaker 2: French thrown away and a French inspired fair. Please.
- 2:05:08Speaker 3: Yes, I'm still hoping for that. Butterbeer macarn yea.
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: And Carolyn says, I am the most excited to see
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: the Fantastic Beast World. I know they are using the
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: ministry as well, but let's get real, it's all about
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: the beasts. Yeah, so we got a lot of fantastic
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: Beasts fans here, so I'm sure Amy is, you know,
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: very happy right now, probably about to do a little
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: Manti Gore dance those who know. No. So yeah, that
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: wraps up our Sonora's segments.
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: So for this week's discussion question, we want to know
- 2:05:48Speaker 3: what is your favorite Professor mcgonagal moment. We would love

- 2:07:01Speaker 3: We just got lots of favorites we do, you know,
- 2:07:06Speaker 3: and just why we love the wisioning world and that's
- 2:07:08Speaker 3: why we're here doing this podcast because we doubted to
- 2:07:12Speaker 3: be long.
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: I kind of continued for hours. If it weren't for
- 2:07:16Speaker 2: time constraints that we have for this podcast.
- 2:07:18Speaker 3: It wasn't for my job pain right now from talking
- 2:07:20Speaker 3: and for.
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: The job pain. Yeah, for the Joppa too. Yeah.
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: Well, until next time, I'm Amy, I'm
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: Nicole, and I'm Tom.
