- Stereo Mix: Your tips. Daggy with you for a solo show this afternoon for Cox Plate Day, one of the the great racing days on the calendar, one the great races, obviously on the calendar. A little bit different this year at Flemington, but an interesting card. We've got Realmick to look like look at as well. And we'll see if we get the beaver up later. I'm not sure where he's at the moment, to get his thoughts out and about via the the same channels as the one you're listening or watching on. Let's get stuck into Flemington where the track is good. The rail is in the true, all systems go. Lee McKeef said it's a bit of a wishy washy forecast this morning, which I assume means there's a chance of a little bit of dry drizzle throughout the afternoon. So we'll keep an eye on that. If the heavens do open up, a few things might change around. But otherwise all systems go up Flemington. as I said, a typical sort of coxplate card, an odd set of prelim races gets us to the the quadie, which looks quite good. We kick off with a thousand metre race, the Imperatress Sprint up the straight this time around. and it's easy to like the favorite I thought here. You're nice cool. five from eight over the thousand in Sydney. Honest little sprinter and just comes to a really nice Melbourne debut. it's on top. I don't think the straight should be too many should present too many issues. It's on top from Way to the Stars, who's another thousand meter horse has spent a bit of time chasing Tempted and Co. Tempted and Ninja and the like its last few starts. Comes back to a an on-pace setup up the straight here and is thirteen bucks. So it was a nice Price danger and unflinching at forties off a couple of nice trials from a stable that's just starting to come good might be the one that's over the odds. The second is the group three 200 meter red anchor stakes, and we've lost Peyton here, I've just noticed. so it leaves me with half pipe on top on the quick backup from last week. another stable just starting to come good, the Archer Bolds. yeah, quick backup, Ren OK trailing Mafiana a week ago back here. and I'll put it on top. I've lost Peyton and I I wasn't knocking Valeroso. Does have to step up and grave. That was impressive win last time out. The third is the Drummond Golf Vars over 2,040 meters. Where I struggled to find a heap of pace here. I assume Winter Arc's going to take it up off the Warnable runs and lead here. but I'm going to put the favourite True Rebel on top. Chased very well there with pace against last time out. Inside gate should be closer. I assume Black Shin will get it up there. NFSO is gonna be very hard to beat, possibly one of the better bets on the card. Thought Written Empire trailing through with J Mac is a scary prospect to take on. And Lapolo was never a hope on that slow pace last week. Well with it, of course. But now at 14 bucks I'll probably go again, but may have the same issues. but they have bought it straight back to the races after essentially just having a bit of a day out last week. Back on a slow tempo. The fourth is the listed race for the Riot Phillies. It is the Crockett Stakes. And I'm with Angel's Fury. Quite like the trials. Both trials are very nice. The things it did last prep were very nice. couple eleven thousand meter and eleven hundred meter win there. as I said, two nice trials. Sets up map sets up nicely, should just pump through and and lead. Very hard to beat. On top for me, one of the better bets on the card will make it. Gate one, probably my only concern up that straight there. not a lot else I want to talk about. Aro a Roused was good. well not too excited about Cheyenne, but you to respect the jockey booking there. The fifth is the group two McEwen stakes. and the only concern here for Jigsaw, who is obviously absolutely airborne, is is the straight. it's been a while since it's had a start up here. It hasn't had a win up the straight. Has run okay, but spent a bit of t that was in a three of the years ago, in fact, that was a previous life. I'm saying it's a different horse now. horse is absolutely flying on top, but not as good a thing as I thought it was at Gaulfield. I I've got Rainbagnerio is the main danger. $8.50. I think it's a fair price if you're looking for one. just never got a crack. Pinned to the inside. First up, will improve, is proven straight winner. so we make it the danger, terrified of smooth chino, terrified of extra galactic. A great sprint race. but let's hope Jigsaw can make it what nine in a row now. The sixth is the Kia Ora Stud Mile. This is an odd race here that I struggled to get my head around. I hoping for a bit of help. So you leave your thoughts on this in the the comments below. And as a result, I end up coming back to the favourite surf and bird, who's a horse I've never really raided. But that was a good win. It's gonna get a s on pace setup without a lot of competition. so you have to If you have to be with it, but you have to like it here. I've got that as one play here, and I'm gonna cover Exunto, who has won here previously. As it got a second to Birdman at Flemington as well, and finished not far off Apulia. Okay, last start, 400 metres. I think now third up to a mile. If it's going to show something, this is it. It's a horse I've always thought had ability. Doesn't like particularly winning, but at 15 bucks we'll see what it can produce with Blake Shin taking the ride there. I did have a few looks at Buckaroo, but Starting to get a bit long in the tooth for me. So I'll let that go through the keeper, perhaps against my better judgment. The seventh is the Mini Valley Gold Cup, one of the more interesting races on the card. 2500 meter group two race here. And what I've ended up going with here is the Metrop Quinella in Juju Kibo and Athelwolf. yeah, both at an each way price. I'll cover both and see if we can get a result out of it. That was a good win from Juju Kibo. And it's probably the first real race Athelwolf had to. being. I know it was a short price favourite there. but ran okay. Ren okay and I think it'll be better for that. to Flemington. It feels like a Flemington sort of horse. Make it the danger. Obviously scared of Pinol who's found some form. Scared of King Pedro. and I'll mention the rest when we get to the Quaddy shortly. the other one I'll cover a place as I've done its last couple of starts is future history. Just got the perfect map yet again. Should it take up the spot for Willie Pike and you can get five or six bucks a place it'll bobble long and just be super honest going well as well as it can in old future history there. Which brings us to the feature the Wait for Age Championship of Australasia. The 2040 meter Cox Plate. And we don't have the super superstar here that we've had over the years gone by, but an interesting race nonetheless. one that I got sort of dragged to my top pick. kicking and screaming in some ways, I I've ended up putting Chaywolf on top. Should have won the Epsom. two lengths off Autumn Glow last time out, very good run. Any rain by this day today is obviously going to help it because it's unbeaten it's got a very good record in the wet it's unbeaten in Melbourne won one of the good miles here a couple of years ago and all's just going really well just rock solid bulletproof and if you're gonna back something each way I think it is gonna be it. has really managed to avoid a lot of the hype leading into a lot of this. well woven, the main danger. Top horse, very good wind sitting wide in the guineas there and chasing down blind rays. That was a outstanding win. It's gonna have obviously no weight on its back. Truck through here and about five or six bucks is the main danger to me. And coming back from the Corfield Cup of the other two, Cosmic Crusader ran again a hot another horse that probably ran as well as it could have first time 2400 meters. The fact they've bought it straight back, and in fact you're getting eight dollars looks good to me. it was very impressive here with track and distance on the wet two starts back. and at eight dollars well worth of thought. And St. George blinkers on first time is interesting off that very good Caulfield Cup placing. I've gone around, Aliana. Sick of the horse to be honest with, sick of the hype around it. it can it'll probably win now I've bagged it, but bugger it. Sick of hearing about it. the ninth and Wrapping us up is still over the 2040 metres. It's the Tesio Stakes. It's time for the Mares. And I'm taking on the favourite here, Server Rider. It 70s last start. And going back through its form, it's only two wins have been at Kembler and Canterbury. So leave me out of that. Two down the screen on top coming back from the two-rack. It it's been overperforming. it's two first up runs were very good. It's fine to get no distance where it did its best work last time out. You're getting 650. You're getting a swooper's gate from Flemington. it's gonna be very hard to beat. From Shocklets, Blinkers came off last start, which I queried. It had the tick over. The Blinkers go back on here. it's gonna be revved back up, ready to go. I think it'll be this run into the Melbourne Cup. main danger. a perfect ten will punch along up on pace and be next best for me. and that is a whirlwind look through Cox Plate Day, where I better get to the quaddy. First leg. What have I done here? First leg let's go six Buckaroo seven another wheel ten eggsunto and twelve surf and bird second leg two Juju Kibo three pinhole seven Mr. Monarco eleven King Pedro twelve Atherwolf third leg will go what have I done? One Cheow, five Cosmic Crusader, nine Saint George, ten Aliane can go in. 11 War Woven. And we'll come home with one two darndes crete, three chocolates, nine perfect ten, eleven sun gift, and twelve ocean bay hundred dollars gets you twenty percent of that one. My best on Coxplate Day will make it the Philly race four number two Angels Fury and my value race nine in the feature. Chewf as we head up to Realmick for show us your tips. Where the worst of the rain's gone. It's copped it's a missile of the rain we've copped in the western suburbs. It is good for from what I'm told. Rail six metres, bit of drizzle round, might push it into the soft, but I don't think so to be in old dead range, as they say. And we kick off with some more two-year-olds rolling out here in the Kirkcomplate. I thought the Phillies caught the eye off the trials here. Jenny and Row on top. Really lovely first trial. second trial just was not didn't show what it had under the bonnet. Just I think they they were quite happy and happy to truck around and plug home there. gate seven getting a good run here. I think this can run well, Jenny in Rome. From Rosa Rito, the Kirin Ma Philly, another one who's trialed up quite well, gets Zach Lloyd here. And Tilda Force was interesting plugging inside for Nash, Mum was very good. Pippi. so they're the three I've looked at around here. Scared of the favourite. for another stable and jockey that are just starting to come good at Royal Accord, but I've gone looking for the girls in the first. The second is the Mile Tab Highway. It's class three. And I have popped bluish hue on top here. I thought it won well in highway grade last time out. Went back, wrapped him up, looked pretty good. Now for Nash gets an inside gate. who I'm banking on a good day for Nash. Ruilla. Inside gate. Should sit close, and I think can get the job done again. From two at twenties here. one is spread to love, the other condone. They come both through tough runs in a highway lead up. And I think that puts him in In good stead here, and as I said, at the prices, I'll make them the danger. in a race, it's got little bit more to it than that, but we'll go that way. Favorite from a couple of at a price for the trifecta there. The second plus one to third is the midway. It's a benchmark seventy two, as per usual. It's over twelve hundred meters. I'm gonna play a few here at a price. see what we can get out of this. The first is Titanium Miss, going really well, just gets a a little Tuck away there from gate one in this and can find leaders back. I hope for Siena Grima. Should run well again at 15 bucks. Nash and Calri Connors made off coming off two strong wins at Illawarra comes to town for a suitable race. And I went looking for Monty VB, but little Molly might get lost from gate sixteen there. Has been going quite well and fits his race pretty well as well. So I'll make it next. Best Pelius, the other one I gave some thought here. Fourth is the Brian Crowley Stakes. As usual it's a weird three year old race. We get this time of year a listed race, twelve hundred metres. And I think the market's right in this case. I'm going with Kieran Starr on top, chasing Blue Door last time out. Pretty good there, tucking along underneath and rang wells well enough to be favoured here. From Crescent King, who's the horse I'll probably back. I think both its last year wins were good, bullied them. A canterbury and then chased the taraway leader quite well at work farm. I think it's got a horse of ability and is obviously the danger. If this was a handicap, then Kieran Star would be given more a bit of weight. So in quite well with 54 kilos here. The fifth is the Mile Group Three, it is the Calendar Presnal, where I have put why so hard on top. I really like that resumption, I really liked its first win. and for me to go away from my rule of not backing this combo on a couple of occasions here is interesting. So I I think this is a top horse. it's on top, why so hard? From O Malong, who run as well as it it does usually and I thought the knockout was gridlock. Although that was a couple of good wins out wide and comes to town in good form, third up, ready to go in in a race it can run into a place for us here. The six is the 1800 metre Craven plate. Once again, we get Linderman with a an on-pace setup without a great deal of of challenge. And I think you have to stick. I think you're going to get 230 again. I know it got rolled by attrition last time out. but attrition is a good horse on its day. just gets the same setup here. And there's only one chaser. That's Tom Kitten, who was good in the Epsom. It's you probably If you're backing Linderman, you're in a similar situation where you're going to be holding on to that last few 150 metres, hoping Nash can boot at home. But I I I think I will go to the well once more. As I said, Tom Kitten, the main danger there for the last leg of the early Quaddy. The first of the group ones, excuse me, is the Spring Champion Stakes. 2000 metres. It's in fact the only group one on the card. Perhaps not the most inspirational group one. But I do like one here and I like Scaroli. if you go back and look at its run that last time out, it was over racing, it was pulling. I assume they went back to try get the horse to settle, but just was pulling its head off for a long time, had its mouth open, came round the bend, got in the wrong leg, was on one rein, was bumping and pinballing around, and by the time it did straighten up, suddenly it was fighting out the finish. if it gets it all together here, it'll win this. so it's on top again, Enrawilla C Ma getting seven dollars. one of the better keen I bet some have having to have here on the card. I can't knock global goal. I just don't not enthrall by all that small Phillies stuff. so I'm gonna make Proximity of the main danger just 'cause she keeps winning and did win did beat Scaroli last time out. And I will have something on Diameda who probably if nothing else for a sense of sanity but just couldn't win from where it got to in that Warwoven race. It's won the start before, it's had a couple of Odd, interesting runs leading up, and maybe I'm chasing my tail, but I wouldn't want to see it win here at 20 to 1. So scrolly, one of my better results. I'm gonna back three and one and save on approximately Dia in the feature. The invitation is up next. It's a two meanle mares race. Four year old and up mares over fourteen hundred metres, and just stick to your set weight and penalty rule here with the girls. Lazura on top, coming off a win where it was dominant enough. gets a good run here, it's gonna get running line. Which should suit and hardest to beat. From Arabian Rose, good last time out. without the best of luck, little Tiff Brooker has to probably find a little bit of luck from Gate 3, but that's fine. You're getting a price to chase that if you are interested. and Perfumist is going to lead off leading the Epsom back here with control for Aaron Ball does set up a lot better. but I think Lazira, very hard to beat. The Ninth is the five diamonds prelude. And I've gone with Nash again here for evaporate, who comes back from the T-Rack. It was just pinned the inside in the T-Rack there, wasn't happy. I think you can forget that. didn't have a lot of luck the one before with in the Angel Capital race either, but comes back to a very winnable race here. We'll get a good riding from gate seven. We'll pretty much sit wherever he needs to sit, and I think can bounce back from. From Delici Boulevard, obvious favourite. And next best, Crystal Clear, 20 to 1, and welcome to the show. Underrated horse. Snuck under the radar a little bit for me, but that was a good run in a two-rate. Off a good win. I understand why that's in the market. Happy to take online backer, sick of it. let's see if we can get something out the rest of the numbers I mentioned there. And let's wrap up with the Filonte handicap, 1600 metres. And we'll come home, two hopes in the last. A Stadio Mastella up on pace, ready to go now, hard fit, a couple of good seconds, drops ingrade here, should get the job done. From anthracite, interesting, all the way back from two thousand meters to a mile, but we'll set up on pace and is hard fit and just you know it's gonna fight once it gets in that finish. And the the easiest thing about that is there's no other chases here. You l looking at Pedman and Osapenko and Major Bill, and yeah, they've all had chances, but I don't know if any of them with us. so two hopes in the last. That's a way we'll come home. Cover both of those and you should be walking away in front. The Quaddy at Ramwick. First leg, one diameter, three Scaroli, eight global goal, and nine proximity deer. Second leg, one Lazura, nine Jeringong, ten perfumist, eleven Arabian Rose. Third leg, two evaporate, three crystal clear, seven Welcome to the show and 12 Delici Boulevard. And we'll come home with one Astadia Mastella. I've thrown Major Biel in only because it's 40s. And nine Anthracite. 100 bucks is going to get you 52% of that. Hopefully we get something decent. My best. Well, apart from Nashville, race eight, number one, Lazura. My value, race seven, number three, Scarole. I didn't have a great deal to offer from up at Queensland. where they've moved across the road to Eagle Farm there. And the only real other one I'll mention outside the state is race seven number five Giganback in Adelaide. Going really well since the Stables sent it over there. That wraps up at least my version of Show Us Your Tips. We might get a Beaver edition as well by the time you're watching this. But otherwise stick around because we're on the eve of Cup Week. Derby Day is the next stop. We'll have four shows as we have done for the last six years. Through Cup Week I will try and navigate the waters there and get us home. but until then, good punting. Enjoy the cox plate and take care, guys. See ya.
