- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, good morning, listeners. Thank you for listening to Lament
- 0:03Speaker 1: of Hope podcast. And thank you for listening, watching whichever
- 0:07Speaker 1: platform you're on.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And I find that sort of bicep kissing attitude a
- 0:17Speaker 2: bit very annoying, actually, not a bit annoying. I find
- 0:20Speaker 2: it very annoying because I don't think it's constructive. I mean,
- 0:24Speaker 2: it is my, the fact that I am consistently doubtful
- 0:31Speaker 2: of myself that drives my perfectionism and drives the fact
- 0:37Speaker 2: that I always have to go the extra mile and
- 0:41Speaker 2: not be happy until the whole thing is super perfect
- 0:44Speaker 2: and super polished and super accurate. I wouldn't have won
- 0:49Speaker 2: back off if I wasn't like that. So I don't
- 0:54Speaker 2: think that feeling should be demonized because in my case
- 1:04Speaker 2: at least, my insecurities have brought me where I am today.
- 1:08Speaker 2: So I'd rather embrace my insecurities and use that fear
- 1:17Speaker 2: of failure to improve my output than relish in the
- 1:25Speaker 2: idea that I'm super confident, I know what I'm doing,
- 1:30Speaker 2: And then when it comes to deliver it, you're not
- 1:33Speaker 2: up to scratch. I always tell the people that I
- 1:35Speaker 2: work with that I like to under-promise and over-deliver. And,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you know, because of this, I'd rather say, oh, no,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm not sure I can do that. And then I
- 1:47Speaker 2: do it and I do it extremely well. And then say, oh, yeah,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'm 100% sure I can do that. And then when
- 1:54Speaker 2: you deliver it, it's not as good as people expected it.
- 1:59Speaker 2: so yeah I think that you're absolutely correct and I'm
- 2:03Speaker 2: completely in agreement with what you say and in fact
- 2:07Speaker 2: I believe that as I said insecurities should be just
- 2:12Speaker 2: embraced and turned into a positive energy rather than being demonized.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Well yeah and I think it's recognizing that you're as
- 2:21Speaker 1: a human being you have limits you have limitations which
- 2:25Speaker 1: is really important too because if you're Like you're saying,
- 2:28Speaker 1: if you think you've got everything right and you're very
- 2:32Speaker 1: confident in everything you do, when will you learn anything?
- 2:35Speaker 1: I mean, there just won't, you won't have an attitude
- 2:37Speaker 1: of wanting to learn, you know, cause you'll be like,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I already know, you know, I'm good. But if you're insecure,
- 2:43Speaker 1: don't know something, it seeks you to search as well.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And to keep, yeah, I, I, I agree with you.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's it's true. And unfortunately, yeah, we're really going that way.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So it, that, that's a good, that's a really good reminder. Well,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I want to be careful of your time, so I
- 3:00Speaker 1: just want to ask one more question because I've been
- 3:01Speaker 1: thinking about this.
