- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on everybody?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome into another edition of the Czech O'deli.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's Andrew to Checko here from Inside.
- 0:14Speaker 2: The Birds dot com and some of my immediate thoughts
- 0:18Speaker 2: after the game. That's the podcast that are on the
- 0:21Speaker 2: Inside the Birds platform. I do have something that I
- 0:25Speaker 2: wanted to get into real quick about news that came
- 0:29Speaker 2: out from Jay Glazier. And this is Tuesday evening. Former
- 0:33Speaker 2: Pro Bowl cornerback JR. Alexander has decided to step away
- 0:36Speaker 2: from football to try to focus on getting himself right
- 0:38Speaker 2: physically and mentally before deciding on his future. Alexander informed
- 0:43Speaker 2: the Eagles of his decision today at NFL on Fox.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Has learned this is from Jay Glazier. So, Jay R.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Alexander did not travel with.
- 0:51Speaker 2: The Eagles, and he was sort of acclimating to the
- 0:54Speaker 2: defense and recovering his knee back in Philadelphia, and that was,
- 1:01Speaker 2: you know, it was kind of to be a course
- 1:04Speaker 2: of action similar to Brandon Graham, a ramp up of
- 1:07Speaker 2: sorts to ensure that he was going to be ready
- 1:09Speaker 2: to help the team down the stretch. But obviously, and
- 1:11Speaker 2: there'll be I'm sure more to come from this.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher, and if you have a family
- 1:16Speaker 3: and kids at home, like me, you always want them
- 1:19Speaker 3: to be fully protected. That's why I'm thrilled to be
- 1:21Speaker 3: a simply Safe customer. And our house is equipped with
- 1:24Speaker 3: the most technologically advanced alarm system you can get. If
- 1:28Speaker 3: you could actually stop someone from breaking into your home
- 1:30Speaker 3: before they got inside, why wouldn't you. Traditional security systems
- 1:34Speaker 3: only react after a break in, but simply Safe is
- 1:37Speaker 3: different because it stops crimes before they happen. With active
- 1:42Speaker 3: guard outdoor protection. They're AI powered cameras detect threats while
- 1:46Speaker 3: they're still outside your home, and they alert real security agents.
- 1:50Speaker 3: These agents take action while the intruder is still outside
- 1:54Speaker 3: and confront the intruder to let them know they're being
- 1:56Speaker 3: watched on camera and police is on the way. And
- 1:59Speaker 3: that's how you stop a crime before it's committed. There's
- 2:02Speaker 3: no long term contracts or hidden fees. You can cancel
- 2:05Speaker 3: any time, and it comes with a sixty day money
- 2:08Speaker 3: back guarantee. Try it and see the difference for yourself.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Do not miss out on Simply Safe's biggest sale of
- 2:13Speaker 3: the year, sixty percent off. Our listeners get sixty percent
- 2:18Speaker 3: off a simply Safe home security system at simplysafe dot
- 2:22Speaker 3: com slash bird. That's simplysafe dot com slash bird.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You have to prioritize your mental health above all, and
- 2:32Speaker 2: I'm you know, kudos to Jay or Alexander for knowing
- 2:35Speaker 2: that he wanted to do that and prioritizing his mental
- 2:39Speaker 2: health and that's most important right now, and healing up
- 2:45Speaker 2: with the knee injury that he's had that's sort of
- 2:47Speaker 2: been plaguing him and it's taking a toll on him
- 2:50Speaker 2: and getting yourself right from that and then maybe reassessing
- 2:53Speaker 2: from there what avenue you want to explore in terms
- 2:57Speaker 2: of playing again, and if not, maybe you walk away
- 3:02Speaker 2: on your own terms.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Whatever the case is.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I'm just happy that day Er has you know, he's
- 3:08Speaker 2: able to recognize, you know that he needs to press
- 3:11Speaker 2: pause and step away.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So what that means for.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The Eagles right now, Well, they have until Wednesday, the
- 3:19Speaker 2: end of the day Wednesday to activate cornerback Ja Coryan
- 3:23Speaker 2: Bennett from.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Ir and you know he's twenty one day.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Practice went to open October twenty second, and so there's
- 3:31Speaker 2: a clear need now for another corner to enter the mix.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Now.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Numbers wise, the Eagles have plenty Quinn, Mitchell, Cooper, Dejen,
- 3:39Speaker 2: Keey Ringo, Dori Jackson, Michael Carter, mac McWilliams. You have
- 3:43Speaker 2: six there, but Ja Cory and Bennett gives you another
- 3:46Speaker 2: option who could start on the outside so that you
- 3:49Speaker 2: don't become overly reliant on someone like a Dory Jackson
- 3:53Speaker 2: who at thirty years old, he's missed some time this
- 3:55Speaker 2: year growin injury, concussion, and Keighley's been in his assistant
- 4:00Speaker 2: Jakoorian think Leafs gives you a third option there, so
- 4:04Speaker 2: that you have you can either play matchups or you
- 4:07Speaker 2: can maybe you know, if one player is not performing
- 4:11Speaker 2: particularly well, you can plug him in perhaps or even
- 4:14Speaker 2: give him a look and see what you have there.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Because he's only played twenty four snaps this season. Maybe
- 4:19Speaker 2: that's something that the Eagles will consider. But time sticking
- 4:22Speaker 2: and they have to make that decision relatively soon and
- 4:27Speaker 2: we'll see where that goes.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But the cornerback situation is.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I thought of Dororiy Jackson did some nice things against
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Green Bay Packers, grant that he wasn't tested all
- 4:36Speaker 2: that much, and I was a little bit surprising to
- 4:39Speaker 2: me in fact, whenever Petey Ringott was there aside from
- 4:43Speaker 2: the two point conversion against the Broncos and Week six
- 4:46Speaker 2: against the Giants, he hasn't been overly targeted as much
- 4:50Speaker 2: as I certainly expected him to.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And at Dori Jackson either.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And now with the new look pass rush, I think
- 4:57Speaker 2: that's going to help serve the secondary well. Because now
- 5:01Speaker 2: you're forcing quarterbacks to process things faster, they're going to
- 5:06Speaker 2: be more prone to having happy fee and maybe you
- 5:09Speaker 2: force me into a hazy decision or two down the
- 5:12Speaker 2: stretch here. But we'll see how the cornerback landscape ultimately
- 5:17Speaker 2: shakes out.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But that's the immediate news right now.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 5:24Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 5:27Speaker 3: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 5:31Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 5:36Speaker 3: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 5:39Speaker 3: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Camden Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff
- 5:47Speaker 3: makes sure you feel taken care of every time you
- 5:50Speaker 3: walk in. Plus they carry only the best quality cannabis
- 5:54Speaker 3: at the fairest prices, So whether you're stocking up for
- 5:57Speaker 3: the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 6:01Speaker 3: you know you're getting the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 6:05Speaker 3: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 6:10Speaker 3: service members, and healthcare pros canned in Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 6:15Speaker 3: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 6:18Speaker 3: one and up.
- 6:20Speaker 2: The other part that I wanted to get into very
- 6:21Speaker 2: quickly is the running back situation and how I noticed
- 6:25Speaker 2: on the first drive that the Eagles incorporated all three
- 6:28Speaker 2: running backs into the rotation. Into the mix, obviously, Saquon
- 6:33Speaker 2: Barkley is going to be the bell cow and Tank
- 6:35Speaker 2: Bigsby's going to be, in all likelihood the number two
- 6:38Speaker 2: because I think he brings a unique skill set.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He has a unique running style, he.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Sometimes creates his own holes, and I think that he
- 6:47Speaker 2: also adds some juice and physicality and power and would
- 6:51Speaker 2: be the ideal spell when Saquon Barkley needs a breather.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But I did notice that Will Shipley entered this game
- 6:59Speaker 2: having touched the ball only nine times all season. He
- 7:02Speaker 2: touched the ball six times against the Green Bay Packers,
- 7:05Speaker 2: twice on the first series. One was the third and
- 7:08Speaker 2: ten eleven yard reception, and then he had a four
- 7:11Speaker 2: yard run on a second and three. So Will is
- 7:15Speaker 2: a player that I thought was underutilized. And I understand
- 7:18Speaker 2: that when you have an embarrassment of riches offensively, there's
- 7:21Speaker 2: always so many mouths that you can feed and you
- 7:26Speaker 2: can't overly fixate on complimentary pieces when you're having enough
- 7:30Speaker 2: trouble facilitating the football to your pre eminent weapons like
- 7:33Speaker 2: AJ Brown and Avonte Smith, Dallas Goddard. He's flashed, but
- 7:37Speaker 2: he hasn't been a volume receiver this year. But I
- 7:41Speaker 2: think when you look at it into totality, there should
- 7:44Speaker 2: be a role for Shipley as a third down option,
- 7:46Speaker 2: and at least to me, it looked like the Eagles
- 7:48Speaker 2: are looking at that as a potential option. That was
- 7:52Speaker 2: something that going into the season, I thought that he
- 7:54Speaker 2: was going to be more heavily featured as because he
- 7:57Speaker 2: can catch the football better than any of the Eagles
- 7:59Speaker 2: running back. I might even argue that he's the best
- 8:02Speaker 2: pass protecting running back that the Eagles have. Because you
- 8:07Speaker 2: saw it and it's been in short spurts. I saw
- 8:09Speaker 2: that in the Buccaneers game. I saw that again. I
- 8:14Speaker 2: think it was against the Vikings, getting my games all
- 8:17Speaker 2: mixed up here, but against the Vikings.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm
- 8:22Speaker 3: not always in the mood to drink. And that's why

- 9:48Speaker 2: And that's something that I think Will can do. He
- 9:53Speaker 2: works at it, and he's smart. He processes things, he's
- 9:56Speaker 2: able to scan and sort, and it's a it's been
- 9:59Speaker 2: a word progress, but it seems to me. And again,
- 10:02Speaker 2: this is just one game. You never want to make
- 10:04Speaker 2: too much off of it. That maybe the Eagles are
- 10:06Speaker 2: intrigued with what he can bring from that standpoint, kind
- 10:10Speaker 2: of like what Kenny Gamwell is able to do. Maybe
- 10:12Speaker 2: they're not the biggest players at the position in the world,
- 10:16Speaker 2: but they make up for with intangibles. And Will Shipley
- 10:19Speaker 2: is a highly intelligent football player. And Saquon Barkley going
- 10:22Speaker 2: back to the summer, mentioned that he's probably the smart
- 10:25Speaker 2: he is the smartest running back.
- 10:26Speaker 1: In the room and how it pisses him off.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Said that jokingly, of course, because of how smart that
- 10:31Speaker 2: he is.
- 10:32Speaker 1: But that was one of my takeaways.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And I'm curious to see whether or not the Eagles
- 10:37Speaker 2: look to sort of carve out defining roles for these players,
- 10:41Speaker 2: because you have three running backs and aj Dillon was inactive,
- 10:45Speaker 2: by the way, who can do different things and compliment
- 10:48Speaker 2: each other pretty well, And that could be a different wrinkle.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Nothing drastic, but maybe it has to do with personnel utilization.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Maybe you're getting.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Someone like a Camlato more involved and maybe less of
- 11:00Speaker 2: maybe a grand Calkatara and a Kaylin Granson. That sixth,
- 11:04Speaker 2: that offensive lineman is gonna be featured, and that's gonna
- 11:07Speaker 2: be something that in jumbo packages they're gonna look to
- 11:10Speaker 2: tap into.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So there's a Those are just.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Some of my thoughts here on a on A on
- 11:18Speaker 2: a Tuesday evening. I hope you enjoyed the podcast Eagles
