Daryl Hatton, the founder and CEO of Fundrazr, joined me to talk about the ways in which nonprofits can most effectively use crowdfunding.
He shares insights about the idea of micro-campaigns, targeting specific projects and outcomes with tiny fundraising goals of just a few hundred dollars. For instance, a pet adoption nonprofit will have more success, he says, raising money $500 at a time for a single pet adoption than raising tens of thousands to run the same program.
