- 0:25SPEAKER_00: It's easy to let one day run into the next one.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Then weeks, months, and eventually years pass by and you wonder where the time went.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: The writing life can have a certain monotony to it that makes it hard to feel like each day is unique or special.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: But nothing could be further from the truth.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Every single day is unique.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: This day, the one you're living right now, will never come around again.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: You only have this one shot, so don't blow this opportunity to live these 24 hours as best as you can.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: We've got to treat each day like the gift that it truly is.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It's not just about us, though.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: We've got to treat our audience the same way.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: We've got to show up every day.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: We've got to be ready to write, ready to create, and ready to serve.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: They deserve the best that you can give.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: The legendary singer Tony Bennett once said, if you walk out there like it's just another night, the audience is going to treat you the same way.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Those are pretty wise words from a man who's been entertaining and serving audiences for decades.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: You know, one of the things that we think about during this season of year as we move into the holiday season is gifts.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: We think about giving thanks during Thanksgiving.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: We think about giving gifts and receiving gifts during Christmas.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And I want to encourage you to be thankful for each day, to not just let each day run into the next one.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: For those of us who work from home, it can kind of feel that way sometimes.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You can sort of feel like you're trapped in your office just getting your writing done.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: And it's important for us to remember that every day is a unique gift that we've been given.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: And that we've got to show up and give a gift to our readers, to the people that we're serving.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Just something to think about as we head into this time of year when a lot of people tend to give up on their goals for the year and just think, well, I'm just going to get serious when it comes January the first.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: So we've still got a long time of this year left.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: We still have over two months.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: So make sure and use each day as a gift because it truly is.
