Becoming a taxi driver is tougher than ever, with a brutal pass rate of just 31-35% over the past three years. In 2025 alone, nearly 9,000 people took the test—only 2,450 passed. The exam, split into industry knowledge and area navigation, demands 75% on both parts. Even after the NTA updated the area test to focus on highways, hubs, and major landmarks (not every street), the barrier remains sky-high.
