Changes coming up in the health sector are thought to be part of the reason why Ashley Bloomfield's resigned.

The Director-General of Health, Director of Public Health Caroline McElnay, and her deputy, are all leaving the Ministry of Health.

The DHB model's set to be replaced in July.
