- 0:01Speaker 1: So no, no, but it could be. Yeah, we can
- 0:05Speaker 1: all just sort of wish you both, and thoughts and prayers. Well,
- 0:08Speaker 1: that's how we do things here, thoughts and prayers.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Somebody ought to do that, because here's a feature where
- 0:14Speaker 2: we engage the listener in participating.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Lots of people listen to this.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Part of the show when we do the X pole,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and the question today is what TV show?
- 0:25Speaker 3: What popular TV show? You just don't get you don't
- 0:29Speaker 3: like everybody likes it. Yah, you don't.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I don't meant it. Yeah.
- 0:33Speaker 2: My example for our promo yesterday was for Carrie that
- 0:37Speaker 2: that's the super Bowl.
- 0:38Speaker 3: It's just not his thing.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Well, no, I understand that, YE get it. It's just
- 0:43Speaker 4: it's it's it's not your thing, it's not my thing.
- 0:47Speaker 4: If you were to point at a show for me,
- 0:50Speaker 4: I mean any reality show, but uh, specifically, the most
- 0:55Speaker 4: popular show right now seems to be at least in
- 0:59Speaker 4: top ten lists is this Yellowstone?
- 1:03Speaker 3: Have you tried it?
- 1:04Speaker 4: I tuned in for a few minutes and it's a Western.
- 1:07Speaker 3: And I would say it's not for you, Carrie.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a soap opera.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Soap opera. Now you will like soap operas with Superpowers.
- 1:14Speaker 3: That's what I like, so so Yellowstone.
- 1:17Speaker 2: There's a bunch of them, and and I would say
- 1:21Speaker 2: the one you would like is Land Man with Bob Thorne.
- 1:25Speaker 4: And we've been meaning to watch that. You will like that,
- 1:28Speaker 4: all right.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I have a hard time with this because a
- 1:31Speaker 1: lot of times I'll think, oh, I don't understand why,
- 1:35Speaker 1: but I haven't really watched it, like Sons of Anarchy.
- 1:38Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't understand.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And so finally I don't know. Bill Frost convinced me
- 1:44Speaker 1: to watch it, and I started watching. I had to
- 1:46Speaker 1: go back and watch leper first three seasons. I got
- 1:48Speaker 1: so hooked on it, and uh, and again it's a
- 1:51Speaker 1: soap opera with people on committing murder on motorcycles. Sounds
- 1:56Speaker 1: good it, Yeah, it is good. But I don't know.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But a lot of times I just think, oh, that's
- 2:05Speaker 1: not for me. And then I'll watch it and I'll go, well,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I see why people like it, Like How I Met
- 2:10Speaker 1: your Mother?
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I never I.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Think. I watched an episode or two of it and thought, well,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I see why people like this, but not for me.
- 2:20Speaker 4: It's like big bang theory.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I don't get.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Yeah, let's see, Oh, Katie, how dare you.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Oh, I know, the perfect one. It's always sunny in Philadelphia,
- 2:28Speaker 1: that one.
- 2:29Speaker 4: That's yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I don't get why people like that. I think they're
- 2:33Speaker 1: I mentally talented people. They are all And I like
- 2:37Speaker 1: the spin. I like the show mythic quest that what's
- 2:40Speaker 1: his name that was doing Charlie Day does, But I
- 2:43Speaker 1: just I can't. I don't get it.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Now, see Katie and the Office.
- 2:49Speaker 3: You don't get the Office?
- 2:52Speaker 4: Understand the appeal of the office. Anyway, let's go to
- 2:54Speaker 4: Milo here. Hey, Milo, Hey, guys, good h mile.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I have a really bad crick in my neck and
- 3:02Speaker 1: it hurts a lot. Oh man, just being honest.
- 3:08Speaker 3: What's your TV show that you just don't get?
- 3:11Speaker 4: Milo brind Yeah, I mean I understood it. It's just
- 3:19Speaker 4: not for me.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I you know, I kind of agree. I watched it
- 3:22Speaker 1: a lot, but as I think back on it, that
- 3:24Speaker 1: was a waste of my time? Was show? Yeah? All right? Thanks? Yeah?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Thanks?
- 3:32Speaker 1: My yeah. I oh, here's another one. Do you remember
- 3:38Speaker 1: a show called The Young Ones, a British import. I
- 3:41Speaker 1: liked The Young I could I couldn't again, I just went,
- 3:44Speaker 1: what what is.
- 3:45Speaker 4: This anything to do with the Kardassians.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:48Speaker 4: Well, except for Deep Space nine.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Does that count as a that's.
- 3:52Speaker 1: A Cardassian there Cardassians.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't get that.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Let's see, it's.
- 3:59Speaker 1: A race of people who wore thongs.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I'm a nurse and a Sherlock Holmes fan, but House
- 4:04Speaker 4: is just awful to me.
- 4:06Speaker 1: My family is really into House right now. They have it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: We have a house drinking game now. It's my wife
- 4:12Speaker 1: and my two kids. I have participated on occasion, and
- 4:16Speaker 1: I said, this is the same show every week. You
- 4:19Speaker 1: realize that it's a formula.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Let's see. Uh, doctor Niels's can't stand in the office,
- 4:26Speaker 4: Andrew curb your enthusiasm.
- 4:29Speaker 1: That's not for everybody.
- 4:30Speaker 4: It's the cringe humor makes him uncomfortable.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I can understand that.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I can understand. So I think I've not really
- 4:36Speaker 1: ever gotten into kerb because I think my wife feels
- 4:39Speaker 1: that way. She doesn't like it at all.
- 4:41Speaker 4: So let's see now now here's people are listing Big Brother.
- 4:48Speaker 4: When it was celebrity Big Brother, I liked it. All
- 4:51Speaker 4: the bachelors that was gonna be mine. I they're huge
- 4:56Speaker 4: love those are so fat.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well it's not even that it's like it's fake, but
- 5:02Speaker 2: there are people these people end up getting engaged and
- 5:05Speaker 2: married sometimes yeah, and then divorced.
- 5:08Speaker 1: But I.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Don't understand. And then then they say Survivor. Now, I've
- 5:12Speaker 4: watched Survivor every season except for a couple, and it's
- 5:18Speaker 4: still I can't explain it. I just it's Sue and
- 5:22Speaker 4: I enjoy watching it. I can't explain it. That's the
- 5:26Speaker 4: one reality show that we'll watch.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Eight seven seven six zero two ninety six ninety six.
- 5:33Speaker 1: What's a TV show that everybody seems to love and
- 5:36Speaker 1: you just can't You just go, I don't get it.
- 5:38Speaker 3: A couple different people saying Seinfeld.
- 5:41Speaker 4: There's quite a few things, son, I thought that was universally.
- 5:44Speaker 1: No, it's no, it's I think a lot of people
- 5:47Speaker 1: did not like Seinfeld because they're really obnoxious people. Well
- 5:51Speaker 1: they're terrible, they're terrible people. Yeah, and so you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you just go, I can't watch that.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Let's see. Uh. I don't understand the appeal of zombie
- 6:03Speaker 4: shows like The Walking Dead, says Holly. I get that
- 6:06Speaker 4: there were too there were too too many of them
- 6:08Speaker 4: all at once. More Big Bang theory enchanted. I don't
- 6:14Speaker 4: know that show.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Oh it's isn't that the cartoon from the Simpsons.
- 6:18Speaker 4: The cartoon that's disenchanted. Oh Gilmore, girls don't get it? Girls, great,
- 6:27Speaker 4: watched all of Ship's Creek. Didn't like it at all?
- 6:30Speaker 4: Why did you.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Watch all of it?
- 6:32Speaker 4: That's funny, you know there were fine seasons or something
- 6:35Speaker 4: like that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Let's go to uh oh, this is interesting wine one.
- 6:39Speaker 1: All right, let's see Richard. Richard, Hi, Richard, So what
- 6:43Speaker 1: show The Bear? I mean, he's got such.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Good reviews that I watched it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I just can't get into it. It's great acting, but
- 6:51Speaker 1: I can't get into.
- 6:52Speaker 4: A restaurant, you know, yeah, I see. The only people
- 6:56Speaker 4: I've encountered that don't like The Bear are people who
- 6:58Speaker 4: worked in the restaurant industry. They say that it's it's
- 7:01Speaker 4: PTSD you know.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Uh, you know, I get it, Yeah, I get with you.
- 7:07Speaker 1: What you what you mean? Though? It's it's a it's
- 7:09Speaker 1: a really strange world. Yep?
- 7:11Speaker 4: All right, thanks Richard.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Yeah, like that's Christmas episode was so good.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but I I had anxiety for well the entire episode.
- 7:21Speaker 3: It didn't let up one second.
- 7:23Speaker 1: What is the television show everybody seems to like and
- 7:25Speaker 1: you just don't get it? How can they like it?
- 7:28Speaker 4: Here's my favorite response so far the masked singer, is
- 7:32Speaker 4: this a show for children?
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Love, Yeah, that's I don't And you know my technical
- 7:40Speaker 4: issue with it and that if they're singing inside of
- 7:43Speaker 4: that big head, yeah, it's gonna echo. Yeah, you're gonna
- 7:46Speaker 4: hear it.
- 7:46Speaker 3: It's all it's all pre recorded.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I it says the same thing with the reason
- 7:52Speaker 1: I don't like it. And Dancing with the Stars is
- 7:54Speaker 1: another reason. When they reveal who they are, I think
- 7:57Speaker 1: I don't even know who that is.
- 7:59Speaker 4: How's that a star?
- 8:01Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Dawn. Hey, Dawn, how are
- 8:04Speaker 1: you going great? How are you fine? Go ahead? But
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm a Star Wars guy.
- 8:11Speaker 4: But I couldn't get into the Mandalorian.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Then I don't see how people loved it so much.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I can tell you why why Watch the first couple
- 8:20Speaker 4: of episodes and what the action sequences were was exactly
- 8:25Speaker 4: what I was doing with my action figures when I.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Was a kid.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yes, Boba Fett was attacking a Jawa sand crawler and
- 8:33Speaker 4: the Jawas were fighting back.
- 8:35Speaker 3: And you don't like the Jawas fighting bag?
- 8:37Speaker 4: I love Jawas. They're my favorite.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Does that help you at all.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Dawn, it does, I'll give it another go all right,
- 8:47Speaker 4: thank you, thanks Don and uh and Cobb Van. I
- 8:53Speaker 4: don't know what that is.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Isn't that?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Isn't that a dish they serve at.
- 8:57Speaker 4: The It's season two. It's a character who found Boba
- 9:00Speaker 4: FET's armor and and is wearing it. And he's a
- 9:03Speaker 4: sheriff of a town on Tatoeen and it's and it's
- 9:06Speaker 4: a it's a I can't help you with this name.
- 9:11Speaker 1: What's his name from? You know he with with.
- 9:14Speaker 4: With the hat, with the cowboy hat, good looking? What
- 9:18Speaker 4: never mind? All right, I forgot the Timothy Oliphant is
- 9:22Speaker 4: I got who did that? Thank you? With the cowboy hat? Yeah,
- 9:27Speaker 4: well he's he's wearing Boba FET's arbor. It is the
- 9:30Speaker 4: sheriff of a town.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Gene, you have remarkable talents that are worth nothing.
- 9:34Speaker 1: True except on this job eight seven, seven, six oh
- 9:38Speaker 1: two nine six nine shows that you just don't get
- 9:42Speaker 1: white people.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Sid says Succession. That's they lost me. When Kuran Culkin
- 9:48Speaker 4: was awful to the poor family in the first episode.
- 9:50Speaker 3: They're all awful.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Yeah, they're all that's.
- 9:53Speaker 3: The point of the show.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Again. It's a it's a I understand it is a
- 9:56Speaker 1: difficult show to get into.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Yes, yes, the all they do is argue, and I
- 10:01Speaker 4: can't take it. More and more friends, haters, well any
- 10:08Speaker 4: real housewives or keeping up with the Cardassians Dexter. I
- 10:14Speaker 4: tried hard with Dexter. I don't get it.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I I liked Dexter for a couple of seasons and
- 10:20Speaker 1: then just kind of I'm.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Watching this young Dexter. The Young Dexter chronicles babies, Dexter babies,
- 10:28Speaker 4: and it's every time Michael Shall does the narration, I'm
- 10:33Speaker 4: just like God, he's trying so hard.
- 10:35Speaker 1: You know.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Anyway, everybody loves Raymond horrible husband, horrible father.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Now here's somebody online one also, let's find out why.
- 10:46Speaker 4: All right, let's Electricia doesn't like Dexter.
- 10:49Speaker 1: What is it about Dexter that you tried to watch it?
- 10:52Speaker 3: And I tried to watch it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I think it's because I'm a forensic.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Social worker and so I work with people who commit
- 10:58Speaker 4: crimes and it just doesn't land correctly. Yeah, it's a well,
- 11:03Speaker 4: Dexter's a special case.
- 11:05Speaker 1: It's a It's like a lot of the There are
- 11:07Speaker 1: hardly any lawyers who like any lawyer shows, Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 3: You would never happen.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Representative yeah, yeah, and radio people that don't like radio shows,
- 11:16Speaker 4: and I like you do.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I thought, what was the with Joe Rogan that radio Yeah, No,
- 11:25Speaker 1: that wasn't realistic.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Frasier is the least thanks Tricia.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Oh that's right. There is radio involved in Fraser. Yes,
- 11:33Speaker 1: he was a radio host, a radio psychologist. I'm listening.
- 11:37Speaker 4: I'm like Glee. Couldn't get into it too much singing.
- 11:41Speaker 4: If you don't like a musical, you're not gonna like.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah. I just couldn't. I couldn't stand that wheelchair kid.
- 11:47Speaker 4: The office people told me the first season was rough,
- 11:50Speaker 4: but after that it gets better. Couldn't get into it
- 11:53Speaker 4: after two seasons. Breaking Bad. That's interesting.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah, like the Breaking Bad. I didn't like it at first,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and then I went back and gave it another shot
- 12:06Speaker 1: and sort of got and then got into it.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Never could get into Lost. Here's the thing about Lost
- 12:13Speaker 4: is that it's twenty years later and it's having a renaissance.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Yeah, people are watching it again.
- 12:18Speaker 4: The streaming numbers for Lost are huge. I think my
- 12:21Speaker 4: daughter's watched it.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And so it's another generation of people who are
- 12:27Speaker 1: going to be extremely disappointed. Gray's Anatomy. Never watched a
- 12:33Speaker 1: second of it. I watched a couple of episodes. Maybe,
- 12:36Speaker 1: let's see I.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Don't understand why people like squid Game.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Huh. I enjoyed it. I like it because it's unusual.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Game of Thrones I try, I cannot get into it.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Oddly enough, Game of Thrones trivia coming up?
- 12:53Speaker 3: Well, don't that person shouldn't call in. They won't get
- 12:56Speaker 3: any of it.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Let's see more Grey's Anatomy, more Seinfeld, Wow, more friends,
- 13:02Speaker 4: more office good happens.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I have a child who's watching The Sopranos, and I
- 13:09Speaker 1: sat down and watched a couple with him for the
- 13:11Speaker 1: first time. Yeah, yeah, he's watching it for the first time,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and and he's really digging it. But I'd forgotten how
- 13:18Speaker 1: how much of a comedy it is. Stuff more than
- 13:22Speaker 1: just more than just touches the funny stuff. Some episodes
- 13:25Speaker 1: are just full out comedy.
- 13:27Speaker 3: That reminds me of Deadwood too.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Yeah. Deadwood is hard to get into.
- 13:32Speaker 3: But so good. But yeah, but also had some really
- 13:35Speaker 3: funny stuff in it.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Now, if you to wore a Boba FET's costume, it
- 13:39Speaker 4: would have been better. Let's see Beavis and butthead was
- 13:43Speaker 4: the worst. It depends the Beavis and butt Head where
- 13:46Speaker 4: they're watching videos I enjoy, yeah, but just in short bursts. Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 4: and short bursts. The current Beavis and butt heead stuff.
- 13:53Speaker 4: It's too much again, breaking bad succession. It seems to
- 13:57Speaker 4: be the list friends.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Bev, but had I never gave much of a
- 14:01Speaker 1: chance because I didn't understand what he was trying to
- 14:04Speaker 1: do with it. I didn't understand that he was making
- 14:07Speaker 1: fun of this. He was making fun of the people
- 14:09Speaker 1: who were watching it.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Yeah, let's see Gray's anatomy. This is us practical jokers.
- 14:20Speaker 4: There's one that I don't get. I do not get
- 14:23Speaker 4: impractical jokers.
- 14:25Speaker 1: People playing pranks on others.
- 14:27Speaker 4: It's just, Yeah, the whole thing, the thing about the
- 14:30Speaker 4: bear is wrong. They try to pond it off as
- 14:33Speaker 4: a comedy. It's a drama. Is that total?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Is that?
- 14:36Speaker 1: What that? Yeah, it's a drama.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Let's see. My wife says, Friday Night Lights. Even even
- 14:43Speaker 4: non football fans like Friday Night Lights. That's another Yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 4: we don't get that.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And you know, Friday Night Lights. I didn't watch much
- 14:51Speaker 1: of it, but really good performances.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Let's see. I don't understand anime. M Yeah, it's not
- 15:00Speaker 4: for everybody. Yeah, here's what this is the I'm surprised
- 15:04Speaker 4: this is on the list because I thought the show
- 15:06Speaker 4: was universally loved. Ted Lasso. Yeah, my brother and some
- 15:11Speaker 4: friends rave about it. I've tried several times to get
- 15:13Speaker 4: into it, but I just don't get it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: That means you're a horrible It's because it's so it's
- 15:18Speaker 1: a very mild show. It's very low key and people,
- 15:25Speaker 1: you know it's.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I watched ted Lasso and my husband's not home because
- 15:30Speaker 2: it's it's it's comforting to me, like it's it's comfort food.
- 15:35Speaker 3: It's just it's easy, and it's nice and and it's easier.
- 15:39Speaker 1: It'd be easier to just pull a pint of ice
- 15:41Speaker 1: cream out of the freezer.
- 15:44Speaker 4: The good place. I want to like it so bad.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I don't know why I can't get into it. Another
- 15:49Speaker 4: Game of Thrones. This is us naked and afraid. How stupid?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't have to do that.
- 15:57Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:00Speaker 4: What are you trying to prove? Let's see, I was
- 16:06Speaker 4: getting sober when breaking bad with a hit. I couldn't
- 16:08Speaker 4: get in had pretty difficult. I'm a cop and I
- 16:12Speaker 4: love Brooklyn ninety nine.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It's okay, well all.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Right, but I wonder if that's that's a comedy. But
- 16:18Speaker 2: I wonder if you like like serious cop shows.
- 16:20Speaker 1: No, Brooklyn nine nine was just silly.
- 16:24Speaker 4: And finally this one from Ed Brass. I don't understand
- 16:27Speaker 4: the appeal of you bet your life with Groucho Marx.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I you know, I don't get it. Okay,
