- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic Jadge ninety four nine
- 0:04Speaker 1: and welcome back to another episode of Scottie and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:08Speaker 1: First off, I'm loving seeing on Instagram so many of you,
- 0:11Speaker 1: especially now that we've got to announce that like Beatbox
- 0:13Speaker 1: is part of the podcast Beatbucks. Y'all know you're sending
- 0:17Speaker 1: you over to Bonnaroo, so we want to make sure
- 0:19Speaker 1: that as long as you're in this podcast, s fam,
- 0:21Speaker 1: we're trying to get you three of your friends over
- 0:23Speaker 1: to Bonneroo thanks to Beatbox. All that info is up
- 0:25Speaker 1: on the Magic ninety four nine Instagram and it's like
- 0:27Speaker 1: the drink of the summer, little Beatbox and an opportunity
- 0:30Speaker 1: huh huh for you and for your friends to get
- 0:33Speaker 1: out and enjoy a day with Teddy Swims and Noah
- 0:36Speaker 1: Khan and Kesha and more. So, just wanted to give
- 0:39Speaker 1: that little shout out to Beatboxing.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Love Beatbox.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So what does this Tampa Bay win that we're talking about.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Oh my god, this has been such a stressful thing
- 0:47Speaker 2: for me.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Stressful.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I have been. I haven't been able to sleep
- 0:50Speaker 2: at night, I haven't been able.
- 0:52Speaker 1: To eat, like waking up in the sweats I've been.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Waking up in a cold set. I have nightmares about
- 0:56Speaker 2: this particular situation, and it's been something that's really been
- 1:00Speaker 2: weighe heavily on my spirit.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to figure this out. I'm gonna say
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's a new restaurant that you've been trying to get
- 1:06Speaker 1: into for a reservation and they just continue to reject you,
- 1:10Speaker 1: and you've put in your pr and you're like, look
- 1:12Speaker 1: at me, I have a million followers and I'm like
- 1:16Speaker 1: the biggest radio personality that starts the most drama in
- 1:19Speaker 1: Tampa Bay.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Well, restaurant in Tampa? Is that hard to get into?
- 1:22Speaker 1: I know that's so true.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Maybe Burns, But like I've been to Burns.
- 1:25Speaker 1: That's not that hard to get into. Nobody is that hard,
- 1:27Speaker 1: Like as long as you well, actually, Who've I had
- 1:29Speaker 1: the most trouble getting into Burns?
- 1:30Speaker 2: And Roca?
- 1:31Speaker 1: I've never been to Roca, so I have no idea
- 1:33Speaker 1: what Roka.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Is a little hard to get into. But like if
- 1:35Speaker 2: you do it, foreign advands like you're fine.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah, Like if you just plan a little bit, you
- 1:38Speaker 1: should be fine. What is okay?
- 1:39Speaker 2: Wait side Tangent?
- 1:42Speaker 1: What has it been then that finally worked? Out in
- 1:44Speaker 1: your face.
- 1:45Speaker 2: For you guys. Oh, if you know me, you know
- 1:48Speaker 2: this is really tough for me. Oh my god, but
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think and I don't want to speak too soon,
- 1:52Speaker 2: so I'm gonna use some soft language. Oh but I
- 1:55Speaker 2: think I have found a woman to do my eyebrows
- 1:58Speaker 2: that I like. Oh my god, don't I don't want
- 2:02Speaker 2: to get too I don't want to give her too
- 2:04Speaker 2: much praise because I've only been to her once, and
- 2:06Speaker 2: like you got to kind of live with them for
- 2:07Speaker 2: a little bit. I think I like her.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You don't even understand how top this has been for me.
- 2:13Speaker 1: No, I've started to get like a little glimpse cause
- 2:15Speaker 1: we were talking about it before, and it's like, I
- 2:17Speaker 1: did not know how stressful it was to find somebody
- 2:19Speaker 1: that fits your vibe, fits the aesthetic, fits the timing
- 2:22Speaker 1: that you want. Truly cares. It's so hard and it
- 2:24Speaker 1: takes money, Like how much money have you dished out
- 2:27Speaker 1: to try to find the right person.
- 2:28Speaker 2: It's so expensive to get your eyebrows done. And here's
- 2:31Speaker 2: what's tough about about it, because when you get your
- 2:33Speaker 2: hair done, like there's a lot of examples that people give,
- 2:36Speaker 2: like they usually have Instagrams, and they show you the
- 2:39Speaker 2: types of hair that they work with, the colors that
- 2:41Speaker 2: they work with, and you can kind of get a
- 2:43Speaker 2: vibe to where even though it's a very expensive risk,
- 2:46Speaker 2: like it's a calculated risk, whereas I feel like with
- 2:49Speaker 2: eyebrow people, that the people that do your eyebrows, it's
- 2:52Speaker 2: so much of a gamble because everybody's eyebrows are so different.
- 2:56Speaker 2: There's usually not a lot of evidence for the kinds
- 2:59Speaker 2: of eyebrow that they do, and so you just kind
- 3:02Speaker 2: of go in, bring your thirty dollars and cross your
- 3:04Speaker 2: fingers and hope it's gonna turn out okay. And I've
- 3:07Speaker 2: just been so disappointed with so many people who've done
- 3:10Speaker 2: my eyebrows in the past that when I find somebody
- 3:12Speaker 2: that I like, I will literally pay whatever it takes
- 3:16Speaker 2: to get to make sure that I can get in
- 3:18Speaker 2: on my schedule. I will like I my life revolves
- 3:22Speaker 2: around getting my eyebrows.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Honestly, though I could understand, not because I do anything
- 3:26Speaker 1: with my e I literally do nothing, but I could
- 3:29Speaker 1: see that It's like when something is that good and
- 3:31Speaker 1: that important to what you see in the mirror, like
- 3:33Speaker 1: you were willing to do whatever. Like when I was
- 3:35Speaker 1: talking to Abby about that, She's like, I will fly
- 3:36Speaker 1: back to Atlanta.
- 3:37Speaker 2: No, literally, it was like, I think I'm gonna have
- 3:38Speaker 2: to fly back to Atlanta to see my girl.
- 3:40Speaker 1: And you did your eyebrows like whatever, you like six.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Weeks, you get them done every three to four weeks.
- 3:44Speaker 1: That's insane and you're about to fly that.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But here's the thing.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Eyebrows.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Eyebrows are like one of the things that you see
- 3:50Speaker 2: on your face that literally can change how your face looks.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Like if my eyebrows look bad, I feel like I'm
- 3:55Speaker 2: ugly for that whole month.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Abby.
- 3:58Speaker 2: No, Like you don't understand, and it feels like your
- 4:00Speaker 2: face is a little dirty, Like if they don't get
- 4:02Speaker 2: the if your eyebrows aren't sharp, if they're getting a
- 4:05Speaker 2: little wiry at the end, you just feel gross. I
- 4:08Speaker 2: just always feel like there's something on my face that
- 4:10Speaker 2: shouldn't be there.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I feel like every time I've seen you, which is
- 4:13Speaker 1: you're doing.
- 4:14Speaker 2: You're literally a guy.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Guys don't notice like this notice, but like, okay, so
- 4:18Speaker 3: when did you get your eyebrows done.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I got them done yesterday.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Oh they look fantastic.
- 4:23Speaker 2: No, I'm like, I'm very pleased. I'm not. I'm trying
- 4:25Speaker 2: not to get my hopes up because who knows sometimes
- 4:27Speaker 2: because you also have to take into account consistency, because
- 4:30Speaker 2: some people are good, but they can't be consistent. So
- 4:32Speaker 2: I'm like, can this girl be consistent? I don't know yet.
- 4:35Speaker 1: How'd you find her Instagram? See? That's like crazy? How
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like that's where we're going because one of the things
- 4:40Speaker 1: that I'll connect this to is you sent me a
- 4:42Speaker 1: video because we're talking about like growing hair long for dudes, yes,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and you sent me the video of like some guy
- 4:47Speaker 1: on TikTok that's like all you gotta do is ask
- 4:50Speaker 1: your barber for the European cut and he uses scissors
- 4:53Speaker 1: and he gives you layers. And I'm like, look, there
- 4:56Speaker 1: was no voice over it. That's how I viewed him
- 4:59Speaker 1: because he like looks at the camera and I'm like,
- 5:01Speaker 1: this dude, like I feel like he's Ai generated.
- 5:04Speaker 2: No, I follow him and his wife.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Well, he's a gorgeous man. He's so hands If I
- 5:08Speaker 1: could have hair like that, well then holy crap. I
- 5:11Speaker 1: would pay whatever price it takes to get hair like that.
- 5:15Speaker 1: But I I'm like going through these thoughts of how
- 5:18Speaker 1: do I even find somebody to do that, because I
- 5:20Speaker 1: think my hair person now is fine. Like whenever I
- 5:22Speaker 1: get my hair done now, I'm pretty happy with it.
- 5:25Speaker 1: But if I'm going to do what we're talking about,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and that's growing it out and giving it layers and
- 5:29Speaker 1: giving it flow, you need somebody that is really good
- 5:33Speaker 1: with the scissors.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I think so a woman who's really good at sissoring.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I think you should go to my Girl, Like I
- 5:39Speaker 2: think you should have a person my salon, Like you
- 5:41Speaker 2: need to go to a woman's salon, somebody who has
- 5:44Speaker 2: a vision for what straight women like and also who
- 5:47Speaker 2: is trained in how to cut hair.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'm so in I would literally sign up right now.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I need to have a consultation because like they can't
- 5:55Speaker 1: just cut it now because it needs to grow out.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You do need to grow it out, but it's it's
- 5:59Speaker 2: kind of like in the way that like when you
- 6:02Speaker 2: go to different eyebrow people, everybody has a different vision
- 6:05Speaker 2: for what your eyebrows should look like, so you also
- 6:07Speaker 2: have to find someone who knows your vision as well
- 6:09Speaker 2: and can make it happen.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I just want to be realistic, Like they look at
- 6:12Speaker 1: me and they're like, yes, I see that as an
- 6:13Speaker 1: option for you, because the only time I've ever grown
- 6:15Speaker 1: out my hair, I was a teen, So it just
- 6:18Speaker 1: was like a bowl down on my head and I
- 6:21Speaker 1: look like Justin Bieber. Yeah, so that's the only vision
- 6:24Speaker 1: I have of me with long hair.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But that's what I mean is you need to go
- 6:26Speaker 2: to someone who knows how to map out where it
- 6:29Speaker 2: should grow out, where you need to cut, and who
- 6:31Speaker 2: can tell you, hey, we're going to leave this long
- 6:33Speaker 2: because this has to grow out, but we're gonna cut
- 6:34Speaker 2: here because it needs to be short here.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, because I look right now, Well it's not horrible
- 6:39Speaker 1: right now, but I'm like, it's fine, thanks, But it's
- 6:41Speaker 1: supposed to be cut in like next week. So if
- 6:44Speaker 1: it goes past that, almost start looking like Bozo the
- 6:46Speaker 1: Clown because my sides are going to start growing out
- 6:48Speaker 1: a little bushy. My head's not going to be able
- 6:50Speaker 1: to get any like push up.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So I need somebody that's able to like kind of
- 6:53Speaker 1: trim it up but also let it grow.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You also need someone who can show you how to
- 6:57Speaker 2: style it while you're in that weird in between faith.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Gosh, dang it, But I am committed because I do
- 7:02Speaker 1: want to try I want to go one more try
- 7:04Speaker 1: of growing flow and if it works, hell yeah, if not.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Whatever, How does your lady feel about your hair?
- 7:10Speaker 1: I think she loves it and what she loves. And
- 7:12Speaker 1: I caught this note the other day, okay, because I
- 7:15Speaker 1: had like a little longer. She's like, oh, that was
- 7:16Speaker 1: really nice. I can I could grab it, she could
- 7:20Speaker 1: grab on a little bit.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And so I took that note and I was like
- 7:25Speaker 1: because then the next day I had to get a haircut.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I was like, huh, I gotta grow it out because
- 7:28Speaker 1: I want that to be a thing. You know, if
- 7:31Speaker 1: that's something that you may note of, let me go
- 7:33Speaker 1: ahead and do my part.
- 7:33Speaker 2: That's a thing for sure, I know.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So I think she'd be down for it. I think
- 7:38Speaker 1: what i've I do not look the same I did
- 7:40Speaker 1: like in October when I had my birthday last year,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I had a tight haircut on the sides, very short
- 7:46Speaker 1: on top, no beard at all, no facial hair versus now.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I love how I look now compared to them. So
- 7:53Speaker 1: I can only imagine, like if I could grow out
- 7:55Speaker 1: my hair a little bit, maybe that would be the
- 7:57Speaker 1: next step.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I wish more men knew that women hate the high
- 8:00Speaker 2: tight haircut.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It's what we all do, I know. But also, like
- 8:02Speaker 1: you said, every we're starting to finally realize, oh wait,
- 8:06Speaker 1: we could grow it out a little bit.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I know, make sure it's like an asparagus haircut where
- 8:11Speaker 2: you're like really like skinny on the side. It's like
- 8:13Speaker 2: super high at the top.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I've rocked that haircut for a decade.
- 8:16Speaker 2: But I think it's the gen Zers, like the younger
- 8:18Speaker 2: gen Zers, that are changing it because they all have
- 8:20Speaker 2: that government issued haircut where it's like super floppy at
- 8:23Speaker 2: the top and then like kind of like they keep
- 8:26Speaker 2: it long but still kind of short on the sides.
- 8:28Speaker 2: And then that I have someone of a mullet.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yes, I've seen a lot of mullets right now. Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's like it's like a long it's not a mohawk,
- 8:34Speaker 1: but it's middle part of like just long hair. It
- 8:37Speaker 1: kind of looks like a mop.
- 8:38Speaker 2: It's a JFK junior look.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And they just kind of shave it around the ears.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It kind of looks good if I could, well, I'd
- 8:44Speaker 1: rather grow it out long now versus because who knows,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't know, and ten years I might not have
- 8:48Speaker 1: any hair. I don't know that's the weird thing would
- 8:50Speaker 1: be able to do. I have no idea.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You can always go to Turkey Scotts. There's always a
- 8:54Speaker 2: flight to Turkey.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I want to go, so okay, send me over your
- 8:57Speaker 1: hair girl, because I'm committed. I want to go get
- 8:59Speaker 1: a haircut consultation.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I like the idea of I was sharing a hair girl.
- 9:03Speaker 1: You probably talk shit to yours about me, and then
- 9:05Speaker 1: I could talk talk shit about you to her.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I don't know the first rule of talking to your
- 9:10Speaker 2: hair ladies. You don't talk shit about people. Really, Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 2: because everyone has the walls have ears in a salon,
- 9:15Speaker 2: I feel.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Like that's the place to like get out those demons.
- 9:18Speaker 2: No, it's the place to talk about your dating life.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Like that's the thing that everybody can get in on.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That's what I really liked about my last hairplace that
- 9:26Speaker 2: I went to was Yeah, of course I like the
- 9:28Speaker 2: people that I went to, but I liked the environment
- 9:31Speaker 2: of where I went specifically because it felt very like
- 9:33Speaker 2: down home and like you could all kind of gab
- 9:35Speaker 2: with each other. It's very like chatty.
- 9:37Speaker 1: See. I'd rather if we go I just don't want
- 9:40Speaker 1: anybody to talk to me. I wish I could just
- 9:43Speaker 1: check a box.
- 9:43Speaker 2: You can do that too.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I wish I could just like go in like
- 9:46Speaker 1: uber where they're like, are you in the mood for talking?
- 9:48Speaker 1: And I'm like nope. I just kind of was sit
- 9:49Speaker 1: here and let my mind just go into like the
- 9:51Speaker 1: abyss why you cut? Or we could chat on like
- 9:54Speaker 1: maybe one out of the seven cuts I get. Yeah, okay,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'm in as long as I can get a consultation.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'm committing right now. I'm growing out my hair and
- 10:01Speaker 1: we're gonna see what happens.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Now.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I might look like crap for like the next couple
- 10:05Speaker 1: of months, but that's worth it.
- 10:07Speaker 2: It's all a part of the grow up phase. Just
- 10:08Speaker 2: like with my eyebrows two months ago and I was like, oh,
- 10:11Speaker 2: I went to this lady and she says I need
- 10:12Speaker 2: to grow them out, and my eyebrows looked like shit.
- 10:16Speaker 3: They looked so bad. Admit it, you know they looked bad.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I never thought once that they looked bad. I literally
- 10:22Speaker 3: never thought to myself. But then again, you said, I'm
- 10:24Speaker 3: a dude and I don't notice these things. That's actually
- 10:26Speaker 3: very accurate.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I look back on videos and I was like, God,
- 10:28Speaker 2: why was I growing them out that much.
- 10:29Speaker 1: But that's really good. So you found your hair girl,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you found your eyebrow girl.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I think I'm I'm being I'm cautiously optimistic about my
- 10:36Speaker 2: eyebrow lady.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Is there anything else that you need? Do you have
- 10:40Speaker 1: a doctor yet?
- 10:42Speaker 2: No? I was talking to Jenna about finding a good
- 10:45Speaker 2: obgyn or a GUYO or whatever except the other thing.
- 10:48Speaker 2: But I've already been. I went to the GUYO twice
- 10:49Speaker 2: last year because I went last for I went two
- 10:52Speaker 2: times last year, one for just like a check up,
- 10:54Speaker 2: and then I lied and I said I didn't need
- 10:55Speaker 2: a papsme here. And then I found out I was
- 10:57Speaker 2: leaving my job, and I was like, I need to
- 10:58Speaker 2: paps me.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it. Why I got the Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I hate general practitioners because I feel like there's such
- 11:03Speaker 2: a waste of money.
- 11:04Speaker 1: That's why I haven't gone. I literally haven't had a
- 11:06Speaker 1: general practitional doctor. And I don't know since I was
- 11:10Speaker 1: a team.
- 11:10Speaker 2: They don't do anything except for saying you're not dead, yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 2: you look good. I want to go to a functional doctor.
- 11:16Speaker 1: What is that.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I went to a functional doctor a couple of years
- 11:19Speaker 2: ago when I was going through some weird health stuff
- 11:21Speaker 2: it's putting on the oh this weight, and I had
- 11:23Speaker 2: no idea why. And so when you go to a
- 11:24Speaker 2: functional doctor, they will run a ridiculous amount amount of
- 11:28Speaker 2: tests on you, and the tests are typically covered by insurance,
- 11:31Speaker 2: but the doctor is not. Oh, which is good because
- 11:34Speaker 2: I'm like, if you if you go to a GP
- 11:36Speaker 2: and you say, oh, I want all these tests, they'll go,
- 11:37Speaker 2: I'm not running those tests for you, but the functional
- 11:40Speaker 2: doctors will. So you have to pay a little bit
- 11:42Speaker 2: more for the visit, but you'll.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You'll get a lot more out of it.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You'll get more out of it. Yeah, I just want
- 11:47Speaker 2: to like make sure all my levels are good, because genuinely,
- 11:50Speaker 2: getting those labs done changed my life a couple of
- 11:52Speaker 2: years ago. Really, yeah, because I've always I've told you,
- 11:55Speaker 2: im anemic and so I've always had low iron, but
- 11:58Speaker 2: they did. As long as you're like alive, your doctor
- 12:01Speaker 2: will go, yeah, just take an iron pill and cold today,
- 12:03Speaker 2: which is not what you want to hear when you
- 12:06Speaker 2: feel like something's wrong with your body. So I went
- 12:09Speaker 2: to this functional doctor who who was also kind of unhelpful,
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'm being honest with you, but she ran all the
- 12:14Speaker 2: tests that helped me at least advocate for myself. And
- 12:17Speaker 2: I found out all these others I had like crazy
- 12:19Speaker 2: high cholesterol, my blood pressure was crazy low. I was like,
- 12:22Speaker 2: why is someone telling me this?
- 12:23Speaker 1: And this is no far medical advice, but what did
- 12:25Speaker 1: you do? Like, what were some of the things that
- 12:27Speaker 1: you did that at least you got from that that helped.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, this is not medical advice, absolutely not medical advice.
- 12:33Speaker 1: This is just a studio.
- 12:34Speaker 2: This is anecdotal evidence. Okay, do not do this, but
- 12:39Speaker 2: this is what was helpful for me. And I'm not
- 12:41Speaker 2: saying this is what you should do, no, but this
- 12:43Speaker 2: is what I did.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I'm just curious because you take that information and you
- 12:47Speaker 1: do Yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I put my labs into chat shibut.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I did the same thing though. I get blood work
- 12:53Speaker 1: done and I'm like, chat explain.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I found it helpful because I what was really annoying.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And I've talked about this a lot on like my substance,
- 13:00Speaker 2: So I'm sorry if this is like the eight time
- 13:02Speaker 2: you've heard me talk about this, but I do still
- 13:03Speaker 2: get questions about it. Yeah, anytime I post a picture
- 13:06Speaker 2: in a bikini, people are like, oh my god, I
- 13:07Speaker 2: forgot that you lost so much weight and I was like,
- 13:08Speaker 2: I know. I put my labs into chat GBT and
- 13:13Speaker 2: I said, listen, I am I literally have no control
- 13:17Speaker 2: of my weight and I feel like shit, like what's
- 13:19Speaker 2: going on? And basically they said, well, your iron's low,
- 13:22Speaker 2: but your ferotin's also low. And when you're iron and
- 13:24Speaker 2: fera tun is low, a, it means your energy is
- 13:26Speaker 2: going to be low. But b I don't know what
- 13:28Speaker 2: the science is. It's something like your body doesn't have
- 13:30Speaker 2: the oxygen to keep your metabolism at like a normal rate.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So if your metabolism is supposed to be like fifteen
- 13:38Speaker 2: hundred or whatever, it's at like eleven hundred. So you know,
- 13:41Speaker 2: if you're eating twelve hundred calories, you're gonna gain weight. Yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 1: If you think you're burning no, you're eating like so little.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Your body's still not burning enough. Yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you're like you have a Toddler's metabolism. Wow, you know,
- 13:52Speaker 2: and it affects all your organs and your brain. I'm like, wow,
- 13:54Speaker 2: this swim like so down all the time.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But that has to feel so good to finally have
- 13:58Speaker 1: an answer, because those are the things that I have
- 14:00Speaker 1: people in my life that we talk about. The doctor
- 14:02Speaker 1: stuff too, and it's like they get frustrated because they
- 14:04Speaker 1: go and it's like they don't actually get a solution.
- 14:06Speaker 1: They just get told, Okay, here's the problem. It's like,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I know that's the problem. I feel it. Now, give
- 14:11Speaker 1: me the actual solution that I can use and actually
- 14:13Speaker 1: fix this. And hopefully it's more and this is personal opinion,
- 14:17Speaker 1: but hopefully it's more than just like we'll just take
- 14:19Speaker 1: this pill. I'm like, okay, I could take the but
- 14:22Speaker 1: what else could I do in my life that actually
- 14:24Speaker 1: is going to bring me to my best level?
- 14:26Speaker 2: No, for sure. And my cholesterol was also crazy, crazy
- 14:29Speaker 2: high too, and I can't remember or not, but I
- 14:31Speaker 2: think the iron also influences that, like your body can't
- 14:34Speaker 2: clear out the cholesterol or something like that. Probably something
- 14:36Speaker 2: along those lines. I don't know, but it was like
- 14:38Speaker 2: so much more helpful. I'm like this, Like I just
- 14:40Speaker 2: sat with a nurse practitioner for like two hours and
- 14:42Speaker 2: literally all she said was, your cholesterol's really high, and
- 14:45Speaker 2: take an iron pill, okay bye. And I'm like, okay,
- 14:48Speaker 2: Cause when you come in and you're a size two
- 14:50Speaker 2: and you say I feel like I'm getting weight, they
- 14:51Speaker 2: just think you have an eating disorder and I'm like,
- 14:54Speaker 2: I don't have an eating disorder, but I'm going to
- 14:57Speaker 2: I gain any more weight?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Oh gosh, and I oh a lot. I like, there's
- 15:01Speaker 1: so many good doctors, so many good nurses, but there's
- 15:03Speaker 1: also you know, with anything, there's a handful that it
- 15:06Speaker 1: does feel like you're just in and out and it's
- 15:08Speaker 1: like did you actually even care about whatever you saw?
- 15:10Speaker 2: But there's also like no research for women's health at all.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Like I went into my GUYO last year and I
- 15:15Speaker 2: was like, Hey, I don't feel like being knocked out
- 15:18Speaker 2: for two days as normal pain wise. Can we like
- 15:21Speaker 2: do something about it? She goes, well, you might have
- 15:23Speaker 2: like endometriosis, but like we'd have to do surgery and
- 15:26Speaker 2: that if you don't have it then you have to
- 15:27Speaker 2: pay out of pocket. And so I was like, well,
- 15:29Speaker 2: is there anything else I could do? And she literally
- 15:31Speaker 2: I was just telling my therapist this because my therapist
- 15:33Speaker 2: is super crunchy like me. I was like, yeah, I
- 15:37Speaker 2: asked her if there was anything, and she said, well,
- 15:38Speaker 2: I could prescribe you blah blah blah blah blah. I
- 15:40Speaker 2: can't remember what it's called, some like crazy name and
- 15:43Speaker 2: that should help. And so she sent this prescription to
- 15:46Speaker 2: my pharmacy and I was telling my mom about it. It
- 15:49Speaker 2: was like, yeah, she sent me this pill and my
- 15:51Speaker 2: mom goes, abby, that's an opioid. Oh shoot, And I
- 15:56Speaker 2: was like, okay, so I'm not going to take that.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I can't remember if she said. And my therapist was like,
- 16:00Speaker 2: I'm so glad you didn't take that because I guess
- 16:03Speaker 2: her daughter had gotten prescribed it. And I can't remember
- 16:05Speaker 2: if it's like addicting, but there's some kind of bad
- 16:07Speaker 2: side effect or whatever, and she's like, I wouldn't do
- 16:09Speaker 2: that if over you.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like probably. I mean with anything. That's
- 16:12Speaker 1: why I really try not to think if there's a
- 16:15Speaker 1: solution that's outside of the pill, I always try to
- 16:16Speaker 1: go to that solution first, to see without being reliant
- 16:19Speaker 1: on something because that sucks because it's that's what it
- 16:22Speaker 1: feels like. You go in, ah, cool, three minutes, this
- 16:25Speaker 1: is it. Take this what that's it? That's going to
- 16:29Speaker 1: solve all my problems, But it also might lead to
- 16:31Speaker 1: more problems.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I know.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So are there things that you added to your life
- 16:33Speaker 1: that you're like, oh man, that was super helpful, because
- 16:35Speaker 1: I mean, obviously we have jokes in the studio, but
- 16:37Speaker 1: like you eat like three things at yoga today.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh, but I've always done the yogurt thing for me.
- 16:42Speaker 2: It's just I was joking with you earlier because Scott
- 16:45Speaker 2: was like, yeah, she keeps her house at like seventy
- 16:47Speaker 2: nine degrees. It's seventy nine, but it feels like it's
- 16:49Speaker 2: seventy four. Yeah, I think there's something weird my parents
- 16:51Speaker 2: air conditioning. No. I literally have to take like the
- 16:53Speaker 2: world's largest iron pill to feel somewhat normal.
- 16:56Speaker 1: And that's been something that's been a game changer for you.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And I will say, even though I'm trying to figure
- 17:00Speaker 2: out the creating things, I do feel like it's making
- 17:02Speaker 2: me kind of puffy. I have noticed a massive change
- 17:06Speaker 2: in my anxiety ever since taking creating.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Like going up or down.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Like I feel really level headed.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I mean from what I've not a doctor, not a scientist,
- 17:16Speaker 1: just somebody that's really interested in this, but they say
- 17:18Speaker 1: creating is super good for your brain. Yeah, and you've
- 17:22Speaker 1: seen that it's already like kind of brought that anxious
- 17:25Speaker 1: feeling down.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I've noticed some really positive brain effects, Like I really
- 17:29Speaker 2: like I had therapy yesterday and I'm in trauma therapy.
- 17:31Speaker 2: For those of you who zoneos man of they are
- 17:33Speaker 2: missinings I'm traumatized because I am, and I was. She was.
- 17:37Speaker 2: She was bringing up things that were like really traumatic
- 17:38Speaker 2: for me, and you know, we've done a lot of
- 17:41Speaker 2: hard work in therapy. But I was like, I feel
- 17:44Speaker 2: mostly fine, Like it's I'm still like crying and stuff,
- 17:47Speaker 2: but like I feel more settled.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's actually such a relief because I think what
- 17:52Speaker 1: I've noticed because in this chapter of life, I've been
- 17:54Speaker 1: more anxious than honestly ever and it's such a wild
- 17:59Speaker 1: feeling because when you're just feeling that, it's like your
- 18:02Speaker 1: body's off anxious. Well just got like living situations. Oh,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like I have like relationship things in my life right
- 18:09Speaker 1: now that I'm like, oh my god, I've never like
- 18:11Speaker 1: there are stories from the beginning of this year I
- 18:13Speaker 1: have not yet shared. There are things that have happened
- 18:15Speaker 1: in the past month that I have not yet shared.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But all of it without eventually I'll be able to
- 18:20Speaker 1: talk about them, has left my body in like fight
- 18:22Speaker 1: or flight constantly.
- 18:23Speaker 2: It's the worst. It's the worst.
- 18:25Speaker 1: But I now could get an understanding of when people
- 18:27Speaker 1: are like, oh, I'm feeling anxious. I'm like back in
- 18:29Speaker 1: the day, I'd be like, Okay, well, like you know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: let's how much don't yeah, Like, let's do some breath work,
- 18:34Speaker 1: let's worry.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 1: It's a feeling like when my body's like literally in
- 18:38Speaker 1: fight or flight. I'm like, holy crap, this is insane
- 18:41Speaker 1: to feel that on a day to day basis on edge.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Oh that sucks.
- 18:45Speaker 2: It's not good for your body.
- 18:46Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And your cortisol's constantly spiking.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I literally could feel like how my body when I
- 18:51Speaker 1: wake up, I'm like, oh, I'm off, Like something's off.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I feel like different in my throat and my body
- 18:56Speaker 1: and my core and my mind. And I'm like, I
- 18:59Speaker 1: need to change something.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Do you know how to get your body out of
- 19:01Speaker 2: fight or flight?
- 19:02Speaker 1: I'm pretty good at it, like where I like, I'll
- 19:04Speaker 1: do one I'll do a lot of breathing exercises, or
- 19:08Speaker 1: I'll change my environment, or I'll change the things that
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm thinking of, like with intention. So like when I
- 19:14Speaker 1: was dealing with something in January and I was worried
- 19:16Speaker 1: if somebody was literally watching me, I would have to
- 19:20Speaker 1: Like I had coaches I would talk to and they
- 19:22Speaker 1: would talk me into how to change where my mind went,
- 19:26Speaker 1: how to be realistic about what's in my surroundings to
- 19:29Speaker 1: make sure that I knew I was safe, and that
- 19:31Speaker 1: truly helped. And then breath work. Like when I came
- 19:33Speaker 1: home the other day and I was like super anxious
- 19:35Speaker 1: and my heart's like doom, and I was like about
- 19:38Speaker 1: to have a panic attack, I was like, Okay, I'm
- 19:41Speaker 1: gonna let's do like the basics. And I'd breathe in
- 19:44Speaker 1: for four and i'd hold for four, and i'd release
- 19:47Speaker 1: for four and i'd hold out for four and I
- 19:50Speaker 1: would just settle the internal body so I could allow
- 19:52Speaker 1: myself at least to catch my breath. And then I
- 19:55Speaker 1: would focus on let me think through, actually, what are
- 19:57Speaker 1: the worries I have in my life? Is that realistic thing?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Or am I just allowing these thoughts to amplify on
- 20:03Speaker 1: each other? And that did? It helped me bring down.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And then also a thing that I'm super bad about
- 20:08Speaker 1: that I've gotten much better about over the past couple
- 20:10Speaker 1: months is just telling people, yeah, I would keep these
- 20:13Speaker 1: things bottled. Even a friend was with me this past
- 20:15Speaker 1: week and he was like, dude, I had no idea,
- 20:17Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, I mean, it's not even
- 20:19Speaker 1: on you. I don't really bring these things up with
- 20:21Speaker 1: people because people have their other burdens and I don't
- 20:23Speaker 1: want to burden them. And I've had a lot of
- 20:25Speaker 1: friends and my partner tell me, you don't have to
- 20:29Speaker 1: do that. You could tell us, you could be open.
- 20:32Speaker 1: We also want to help you as much as you
- 20:34Speaker 1: help other people. I was like, ah, I get it,
- 20:38Speaker 1: thanks guys. So honestly, yeah, talking it out has been
- 20:41Speaker 1: a huge help to relieve that feeling.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It's crazy. Men everywhere like what I can talk about
- 20:47Speaker 2: my feelings.
- 20:47Speaker 1: It's I mean, I would just tell you like that's
- 20:49Speaker 1: like internal thought is, yeah, like this crap sucks, But
- 20:52Speaker 1: you've got things in your life that suck too, So
- 20:54Speaker 1: why would I want to stack on my suck to
- 20:56Speaker 1: your suck?
- 20:57Speaker 2: Men need to learn the art of turning your problems
- 21:00Speaker 2: into sounding like interesting gossip, because that's what keeps people intrigued.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Like I loved, I don't like to talk about my
- 21:08Speaker 2: problems that don't have a story attached them, Like I
- 21:11Speaker 2: don't want to call up a friend and be like,
- 21:12Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm like so anxious all the time.
- 21:13Speaker 2: But if you can be like Okay, here's why I'm anxious.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Like that gets people way more invested.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That's valid.
- 21:19Speaker 2: That's how I've gone about pouring my problems on other
- 21:22Speaker 2: people is I'm like, girl, like you will never.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Wait till you hear what happened?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Wait, will I tell you what happened that? Blah blah
- 21:27Speaker 2: blah blah blah. And this is why it's making me
- 21:28Speaker 2: feel a certain way.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I mean it does like me being able to share
- 21:32Speaker 1: what has happened recently in my life has been the
- 21:34Speaker 1: biggest like shake up a bottle of soda and like
- 21:38Speaker 1: opening the cap. That is what it's feelt like. I'm like,
- 21:43Speaker 1: that felt really good. I feel much better. So you
- 21:46Speaker 1: know what, Shout out to the ones that listen.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Shout out to the ones that listen but at home
- 21:51Speaker 2: listening to us to our podcast.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Honestly it is, it's like event session, but in a
- 21:55Speaker 1: healthy way. But I will say what I've learned and
- 21:58Speaker 1: what I will say. If there's like a actually a
- 22:00Speaker 1: male in your life, they like they never open up
- 22:02Speaker 1: about anything. My general rule is like ask like three
- 22:05Speaker 1: times if you ask once, like.
- 22:07Speaker 2: A genie, like I have to rub your lamp three times.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Well, because if you ask, Like literally, my head goes.
- 22:12Speaker 1: If you just ask and you casually like let it go,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I think in my head, oh, they don't really care,
- 22:18Speaker 1: so it's not even gonna be worth it to dive in.
- 22:20Speaker 1: But if the person's like, no, seriously, like what happened,
- 22:23Speaker 1: usually I'll open up at that point. But like for
- 22:25Speaker 1: most mental'll be like, you got to actually check in
- 22:27Speaker 1: like yeah, two to three times to show that you're
- 22:29Speaker 1: truly invested, or else like our internal side goes, they
- 22:32Speaker 1: don't really care, Like what's the point.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I think sometimes people just don't know what to ask
- 22:36Speaker 2: because I know some of the things happening in your
- 22:38Speaker 2: life that I'll ask you specifically be like, so, how's
- 22:41Speaker 2: blah blah blah doing doing? You know what I mean.
- 22:44Speaker 1: But you might notice if you catch the pattern, like
- 22:46Speaker 1: you probably ask twice every time.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Well, because that's because I'm nosy, I.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Know, but that's that shows me that you truly care
- 22:53Speaker 1: about the answer. Yeah, instead of being like just a
- 22:55Speaker 1: pass by convo of how's this and I'll be like, ah,
- 22:58Speaker 1: you know, and that's like me, give me a short answer.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Is saying like I'm testing to see do you actually
- 23:03Speaker 1: care about the answer. Am I about the like reveal
- 23:06Speaker 1: part of the soul that's happening, or am I just
- 23:08Speaker 1: about to waste some air?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:09Speaker 1: And so when it's like no, no, no, seriously, like what's going on? Oh,
- 23:12Speaker 1: safe space?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Like am I god spill the tea? I just love
- 23:19Speaker 2: the gossip guy's like she cares, like I'm just nosy.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Oh you know what, I care? No, I know, but
- 23:26Speaker 1: it still feels good to even if you didn't care,
- 23:28Speaker 1: Like even at that point, if you just were an
- 23:30Speaker 1: open air and be like, oh, that feels good to
- 23:31Speaker 1: get off my chest because there's a lot of things
- 23:34Speaker 1: that happen that you're like, God, that's a lot to
- 23:36Speaker 1: just hold onto onto your chest and not let the
- 23:40Speaker 1: world know what's going on. But speaking of good things happening,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I did do something yesterday for the very first time,
- 23:46Speaker 1: like new chapters are happening in a good way in
- 23:48Speaker 1: my life. Yeah, every single day, and we don't have
- 23:51Speaker 1: enough time to get to it on this.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Podcast, so we have to push it to tomorrow.
- 23:54Speaker 1: We're gonna have to push it to tomorrow. But I
- 23:57Speaker 1: am so excited after multiple conversations that I had yesterday
- 24:02Speaker 1: and it just you know, life balances you out for
- 24:06Speaker 1: as much craziness as this happened, there has been blessing
- 24:09Speaker 1: after blessing, and last night was a huge one of them.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Give a little bit more of a tease, give me
- 24:14Speaker 2: eighty percent of the story.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think I made one of the biggest moves in
- 24:19Speaker 1: this relationship yet to come. Like I think I planted
- 24:25Speaker 1: one of the greatest seeds and that sounds weird.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Just need a little bit more.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I got to have a conversation with somebody in my
- 24:34Speaker 1: partner's life that is honestly our make or break on
- 24:38Speaker 1: if this relationship goes cliffhanger.
- 24:41Speaker 2: For the weekend. So see you Monday, guys.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Very excited to be able to talk about that, and
- 24:46Speaker 1: there would be so much more to reveal. But I
- 24:49Speaker 1: think it went really well. I think it went well. Okay,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I think I'm anyway. So I think after what we're
- 24:56Speaker 1: going to get back and after that will be we'll
- 24:59Speaker 1: have a pool party, whole situation to talk about.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so this so the episode, this is coming
- 25:04Speaker 2: out Friday, So if you're listening to this to day
- 25:06Speaker 2: comes out, it's Friday, then Monday you'll talk about that conversation. Yeah, Sunday,
- 25:10Speaker 2: who knows what's gonna happen.
- 25:11Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, Like, there's still so much that
- 25:13Speaker 1: could happen over the weekend. On Oh my god, excited Monday,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I'll have some.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Good news to you, right what's some Monday.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I just like, there's stuff that I get to do
- 25:21Speaker 1: this weekend.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Do I know what this thing is?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Now?
- 25:24Speaker 1: I don't think I told you. I've kept it under wraps.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'm excited. I'm like a little kid right now. Like
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'm just there's things that I get to do that
- 25:30Speaker 1: have been planning for a while that you'll hear the
- 25:32Speaker 1: update on Monday.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Is it? Does it have to do with your lady?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Is it that thing that we were talking about that
- 25:37Speaker 2: you haven't done in the time that you do You're
- 25:40Speaker 2: doing that this weekend, I think, so I can't reveal
- 25:43Speaker 2: too much what Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, is that what
- 25:46Speaker 2: it is? Y?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 25:47Speaker 2: I s guy's like it has all these exciting things,
- 25:49Speaker 2: and I'm like I might get a little drunk. That's
- 25:52Speaker 2: Oh and I get to rewatch. Oh my god, It's
- 25:54Speaker 2: been a huge week for TV for me. So I'm
- 25:56Speaker 2: going to rewatch off campus and then this weekend, my
- 25:59Speaker 2: other favorite show comes out with season two and I've
- 26:01Speaker 2: heard it's really good.
- 26:02Speaker 1: The one with the British dude.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Rivals is really good too.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Okay, well, there you go. There's a lot of stuff
- 26:08Speaker 1: that we're going to get to on the weekend. But
- 26:09Speaker 1: thank you for being a part of this. And again
- 26:10Speaker 1: we talk about it all the time. But when you
- 26:12Speaker 1: leave the reviews, I love to read them. Abby usually
- 26:15Speaker 1: doesn't because she gets scared somebody's gonna say something nice.
- 26:17Speaker 1: So just overwhelm the comments with nice things and leave
- 26:21Speaker 1: a five star.
- 26:22Speaker 2: If you would give a shout out to a five
- 26:23Speaker 2: star review before we got we got one minute. Oh
- 26:25Speaker 2: my god, absolutely give us a new five star review.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Okay, you got to remind me on how I got
- 26:29Speaker 1: to do this right?
- 26:30Speaker 2: So, oh I could do it on Spotify too, right
- 26:33Speaker 2: now because Spotify just has the five stars but no commentary.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Oh you got to go to Apple. Well, thank Appley.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I know a lot of you listen on Apple podcasts.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I think a majority is Apple.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Well, then shout out to all the Apple users, but
- 26:43Speaker 1: also any other list like if you're on Spotify too,
- 26:45Speaker 1: because I share that to my Instagram.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Everything.
- 26:47Speaker 1: All right, let's go down to these comments. Let's see
- 26:49Speaker 1: if we get some nice ones. Oh, this is going
- 26:51Speaker 1: to be good. Oh look at this. Well, I always
- 26:55Speaker 1: start with a good thing. Let's see Scott's sound like
- 27:00Speaker 1: the friend that is always trying to convince himself. It
- 27:03Speaker 1: was just rain when the witches peede whilst flying over.
- 27:09Speaker 1: While flying over, Abby is the realist who not only
- 27:13Speaker 1: calls the witches out but goes out for justice. Without her,
- 27:18Speaker 1: he will give you a cavity with all the sugar
- 27:19Speaker 1: and rainbows. Without him, she might turn into a full
- 27:24Speaker 1: blown Karen. Thankfully, the stars aligned when Bert when she
- 27:29Speaker 1: chasing beaches and Abby found herself with great balance. That's
- 27:34Speaker 1: actually really nice, and that's very accurate.
- 27:36Speaker 2: A witches pee analogy was really kidding me.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I've never heard that. Like what I would find a
- 27:42Speaker 1: way to turn Witch's p into a positive. I will
- 27:45Speaker 1: absolutely do that. Let's do one more. Let's see give
- 27:48Speaker 1: us a good one. I love how kind and positive
- 27:50Speaker 1: Scott he is toward Abby. I got you. He brings
- 27:53Speaker 1: the positivity and lifting that was much needed in TBS.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You two are great together.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Nah sweet, thank you for.
- 28:01Speaker 1: These reviews and I'll keep reading them. I like this
- 28:04Speaker 1: and if you want to go ahead and pop on
- 28:06Speaker 1: Apple Podcast, leave a review, or you could always just
- 28:08Speaker 1: message us on Instagram. Where can people find you, Abby?
- 28:11Speaker 2: You can find me at the Abby Murphy on all socials.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And mine is at Scott Tavlin. And like we talked
- 28:15Speaker 1: about at the beginning, Beatbox has said, you need a
- 28:17Speaker 1: Bonneroo if you want to do all of that, you
- 28:19Speaker 1: want to be a part of it. Hit up the
- 28:21Speaker 1: Magic ninety four nine Instagram for all those details.
