• Genesis 32:21 — אֲכַפְּרָה פָנָיו (akhappera fanav): chose "I will appease his face". Alternatives: "I will cover his face", "I will make atonement for his face". Why: the verb is the atonement verb used of a person; with "face" as its object it pictures turning away anger, and the literal face-wording keeps Jacob's wordplay with "see his face" and "lift up my face" in the same verse.
