- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York case they'll Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone show on seven tenor.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Oh, it's already too hot.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's gonna be a heat wave for two days. We're
- 0:18Speaker 1: gonna be sweating more than Bill Gates yesterday testifying of
- 0:22Speaker 1: that Epstein committee. It's is gonna be very hot. Cool
- 0:25Speaker 1: off a little on Saturday and Sunday. Should be a
- 0:27Speaker 1: nice weekend. Rain possible later today tomorrow, but it's gonna
- 0:34Speaker 1: be great. It's gonna beautiful outside. Lots of sunshine too
- 0:36Speaker 1: over the weekend. Hey, a lot to get to. We'll
- 0:39Speaker 1: get to the Knicks, the amazing ending of that game,
- 0:42Speaker 1: the greatest comeback in the NBA playoff history. Then we'll
- 0:46Speaker 1: get to the Knicks. We'll get to President Trump. We'll
- 0:49Speaker 1: get to SpaceX, we'll get to Platner. We'll get to
- 0:52Speaker 1: Bill Gates. Bad day for him yesterday, although he handled
- 0:55Speaker 1: himself pretty well. We'll get to a Ran, of course,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and a whole lot more Nicks last night, and many
- 1:02Speaker 1: people gave up and went to sleep. Why did that
- 1:04Speaker 1: game run so late? Usually that ends about eleven ten
- 1:07Speaker 1: or so. It went a little later, a little longer.
- 1:10Speaker 1: People that have to get up early went to sleep
- 1:13Speaker 1: and a lot of people, Yeah, I mean it was
- 1:17Speaker 1: it was bad. I mean the Knicks were getting killed
- 1:20Speaker 1: for most of the game. Just thought it wasn't going
- 1:22Speaker 1: to turn out well and left and you saw some
- 1:24Speaker 1: of the celebrities in the seats were on their phone
- 1:27Speaker 1: and you might say, well they really lost interest around that. No,
- 1:30Speaker 1: they're actually texting their drivers when to pick them up,
- 1:32Speaker 1: where to pick them up. But the ending unbelievable, this
- 1:37Speaker 1: come from behind. The Spurs totally dominant the first half,
- 1:42Speaker 1: third quarter, pretty good, but then they kind of decided
- 1:45Speaker 1: to just you know, just try to melt down the
- 1:49Speaker 1: clock and started to coast a little and the Knicks
- 1:53Speaker 1: came to life, and of course the dramatic ending bus.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Fires up, shuts gone, It's gone, It's gone.
- 2:02Speaker 4: With one point too.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Bernado, let's take the lead, Oh bouts, little seven, little sex.
- 2:11Speaker 1: A most unbelievable moment.
- 2:12Speaker 4: That's that it's.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Over, the greatest comeback in NBA pie off history.
- 2:18Speaker 4: But lets pull off. But Lotle can come back and
- 2:21Speaker 4: lead at three games to.
- 2:22Speaker 5: London, no one more away from up title.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Now. The amazing thing when that happened, you they shut
- 2:33Speaker 1: shot the celebrities and that you could see Taylor Swift
- 2:36Speaker 1: jumping up and down, dancing. They cut the Seinfeld arms
- 2:41Speaker 1: jumping up and down, waving his arms. They cut to
- 2:44Speaker 1: Larry David just standing there, frozen, no expression. Nothing is
- 2:50Speaker 1: going to get him to look excited that. If that
- 2:53Speaker 1: didn't get him excited, nothing will. But it was a great, great,
- 2:57Speaker 1: great night, and quite a victory there at the So
- 3:00Speaker 1: the next game is Saturday night, San Antonio. That's a
- 3:04Speaker 1: better place to win. Let him win in San Antonio.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Maybe maybe less rioting here as a result. Now, after
- 3:10Speaker 1: the game, of course, there was a lot of crazy fans.
- 3:14Speaker 1: They were jumping up and down, stomping on the hoods
- 3:16Speaker 1: of cars, and some mayhem. I think about fifty people
- 3:20Speaker 1: were arrested for some reason. These crazy the ones that
- 3:24Speaker 1: were rioting and causing trouble. Palestinian flags. They're waving Palestinian flags.
- 3:30Speaker 1: What the hell does this have to do with the Knicks.
- 3:32Speaker 1: You maybe have seen that video. Some influencer Seinfeld is
- 3:37Speaker 1: coming out and he gets right in his path, right
- 3:39Speaker 1: in his face with the microphone, and he said, what
- 3:41Speaker 1: about a free Palestine? What do you think about a
- 3:44Speaker 1: free Palestine? And Seinfeld said, it doesn't exist, there is
- 3:48Speaker 1: no Palestine, so and just kept walking. For some reason,
- 3:51Speaker 1: they started a zero in on Seinfeld about Palestine. He's
- 3:57Speaker 1: getting hit with this wherever he goes hit with Israel store.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I don't know why. I mean, well, yeah, he's Jewish,
- 4:03Speaker 1: but so most comedians. But I don't know why for
- 4:06Speaker 1: some reason to keep going after Seinfeld on that, which
- 4:08Speaker 1: is silly because obviously he loves Israel. But he's also
- 4:11Speaker 1: a guy who has never, in fifty years in front
- 4:15Speaker 1: of a camera and a microphone ever had a political
- 4:17Speaker 1: thought ever. So he's certainly not going to have anything there.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But it was an amazing, amazing night for the Knicks.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So tonight we're going to hit Iran. The President actually
- 4:28Speaker 1: announcing it, we will hit Iran tonight. He didn't say
- 4:32Speaker 1: it was definitely tonight, but he said, we'll take carg Island.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That is the big oil facility of Iran. That's where
- 4:39Speaker 1: they store the oil, that's where they export the oil.
- 4:42Speaker 1: They've got oil wells all over the place, but it
- 4:44Speaker 1: all comes to carg Island. Their entire oil industry goes
- 4:48Speaker 1: through carg Island. If we were to blow that up,
- 4:52Speaker 1: that'd be the end of the oil industry in Iran.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It would take for many, many, many many months, maybe
- 4:59Speaker 1: years to rebuild it. Their economy, their oil industry would
- 5:03Speaker 1: be crippled until then. But the problem is if we
- 5:06Speaker 1: blow it up, it's gone for a couple of years,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and then that's going to drive the price of oil
- 5:11Speaker 1: up even more. So we don't want to do that.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So that's why he's saying, we'll be very simple to
- 5:15Speaker 1: just destroy Carg Island. But that's why he's saying we'll
- 5:17Speaker 1: take it. Does that mean boots on the ground could
- 5:21Speaker 1: be But there are ways to take carg Island. We
- 5:24Speaker 1: could just blockade it and take control of it. Even
- 5:26Speaker 1: if there are boots on the ground. It's okay. We've
- 5:28Speaker 1: had boots on the ground twice now in Iran. Both
- 5:32Speaker 1: times were to a rescue the pilot pilots shot down,
- 5:36Speaker 1: but a lot of boots on the ground. We put
- 5:39Speaker 1: a lot of equipment, planes, we built runways, all kinds
- 5:42Speaker 1: of stuff on the ground, and we're able to protect
- 5:44Speaker 1: everybody just fine. But tonight could be a big night
- 5:48Speaker 1: attack in Iran.
- 5:49Speaker 3: We hit them hard yesterday and we're going to hit
- 5:52Speaker 3: them again hard today. In case you missification, you don't
- 5:56Speaker 3: turn on your television set and.
- 5:59Speaker 4: We'll see what happened with the deal.
- 6:00Speaker 3: We were really close to a deal, but they keep
- 6:03Speaker 3: tapping us along, they keep playing us for suckers.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they keep stretching. Time is the only weapon Iran
- 6:08Speaker 1: has right now. And I think was Hexath said we
- 6:12Speaker 1: can negotiate with bombs. We can do it that way too.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But their oil industry is shut right now. They've got
- 6:18Speaker 1: absolutely no revenue. They're probably just a couple of weeks
- 6:22Speaker 1: away from being totally out of cash, not being able
- 6:24Speaker 1: to make payroll. So tonight is a big night.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Do you know we've been taking out now.
- 6:29Speaker 1: That's the other big announcement the President made yesterday. You
- 6:33Speaker 1: always hear about the strait of Hormoose closed. Well, technically
- 6:35Speaker 1: it's closed, but but we've been We opened up a
- 6:40Speaker 1: sliver of it to bring a lot of oil out.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We've brought out one hundred million barrels already. Price of
- 6:45Speaker 1: oil is down, it's eighty nine dollars right now, down
- 6:50Speaker 1: from whatever was one hundred and nine. You notice when
- 6:52Speaker 1: it's down twenty five dollars a barrel, no mention of
- 6:56Speaker 1: it on the news. It's not a story. If it
- 6:57Speaker 1: goes up ten dollars a barrel, it's the lead story
- 7:00Speaker 1: the nightly news. If it drops twenty five dollars a barrel,
- 7:03Speaker 1: no mention, they don't even mention it. So, but we've
- 7:09Speaker 1: actually escorted a lot of ships out. We've actually opened
- 7:14Speaker 1: the other side of the straight of Horn Moose. We've
- 7:16Speaker 1: created a path where two hundred ships have safely traveled
- 7:20Speaker 1: through the strait. We brought out one hundred million barrels already,
- 7:25Speaker 1: President Trump revealing that yesterday.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Do you know we've been taking out millions of barrels
- 7:30Speaker 3: of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesn't know
- 7:33Speaker 3: about it? Iran until right now. We've took out the
- 7:38Speaker 3: other night, twenty two ships late at night with no
- 7:41Speaker 3: lights because they don't have any radar, because we've blasted
- 7:44Speaker 3: the crap out of it.
- 7:46Speaker 4: We took out. That's why oil's eighty five dollars a barrel.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, we did it late at night, middle of the night,
- 7:51Speaker 1: no lights, they're transponders shut off, escorted by a US military,
- 7:58Speaker 1: A lot of ships, two hundred ships have gotten through
- 8:01Speaker 1: the straight oh Horn Moose. So they estimated its about
- 8:06Speaker 1: one hundred million barrels of oil came to the market
- 8:09Speaker 1: that way. So the Knicks, we're going to have a
- 8:13Speaker 1: watch party for last night's game, you know, right outside
- 8:17Speaker 1: the garden. And then they had to cancel at the
- 8:19Speaker 1: last minute because the city was giving him such a
- 8:22Speaker 1: hard time. They didn't want the watch party outside the garden.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Then the city insisted to be limited to a thousand people.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Then the city insisted it be tickets only. You have
- 8:31Speaker 1: to give out tickets to get in, and they finally
- 8:35Speaker 1: just decided to cancel it. They couldn't deal with the city.
- 8:38Speaker 1: So James Dolan went on sports radio. He actually called
- 8:41Speaker 1: in Wanda, go in the air. I mean, it's the
- 8:44Speaker 1: best if you'll announce the watch party's over sports radio,
- 8:47Speaker 1: best place to do it. But he went on there
- 8:49Speaker 1: but really took some shots at the mayor, James Dolan
- 8:53Speaker 1: pointing out that his actual words, Mom, Donnie and Tish
- 8:58Speaker 1: are not experienced enough to handle a major event, not
- 9:03Speaker 1: experienced enough to handle the security measures you need for that. Well,
- 9:07Speaker 1: you know, he's got a point. Actually, Mom, Donnie actually
- 9:10Speaker 1: has no experience that anything, never had a job, never
- 9:16Speaker 1: worked in any profession. Jessica Tish had been in the
- 9:21Speaker 1: police department, for years, but it was really as an
- 9:23Speaker 1: it person, it's just no actual law enforcement experience before
- 9:26Speaker 1: becoming commissioner. Done a good job, but again, yeah, not
- 9:29Speaker 1: a lot of experience.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Now.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I don't know why, but and Dolan upset. They created
- 9:34Speaker 1: this frozen zone that was ridiculous. It was okay when
- 9:37Speaker 1: the President was there, they closed like everything around Dson
- 9:41Speaker 1: Square Garden within like five blocks in any direction frozen zone.
- 9:45Speaker 1: But they did it last night. Nobody understands why. Here's
- 9:47Speaker 1: James Dolan.
- 9:48Speaker 6: You have an easier chance of getting into area fifty
- 9:51Speaker 6: one today than you do into Madison Square Garden. You know,
- 9:55Speaker 6: it's really the Mayor's office, right. I cannot explain that
- 9:59Speaker 6: the decision on this, but it makes absolutely no sense
- 10:03Speaker 6: at all.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a really crazy frozen zone for blocks
- 10:06Speaker 1: in every direction.
- 10:07Speaker 6: Even if you come by train or by subway, they're
- 10:10Speaker 6: not letting you up.
- 10:12Speaker 4: They're going to for they're going to push.
- 10:13Speaker 6: You outside of the of the the forbidden zone and
- 10:18Speaker 6: make you come through magnetometers the and you're going to
- 10:23Speaker 6: have to show that you have a reason to be there, right,
- 10:26Speaker 6: And this is all really designed around stopping people from
- 10:31Speaker 6: celebrating around Madison Square guard.
- 10:34Speaker 4: That's what this is what frozen zone?
- 10:37Speaker 1: All right? You can understand the president's there after three
- 10:39Speaker 1: assassination attempts, you can certainly understand it. But what were
- 10:43Speaker 1: worried about last night? Ben Stiller? Most people and they
- 10:46Speaker 1: see Ben Stiller, it's a two snap, they go, what's
- 10:49Speaker 1: his name? You know he's kind of forgotten about now
- 10:52Speaker 1: More James Dolan.
- 10:53Speaker 6: Honestly, the Mayor's office and I'm sorry the commissioner or
- 10:57Speaker 6: two write do not have the experience to do this, right.
- 11:01Speaker 3: That's mayor Mom, Donnie and Jessica Tissues, the police camp.
- 11:04Speaker 6: I mean, they have never managed anything like this before.
- 11:07Speaker 6: And it's like peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It's coming
- 11:10Speaker 6: out the sides.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Good for him, Good for him, somebody need to say it.
- 11:15Speaker 1: They don't have an experience. Who was the guy talking
- 11:17Speaker 1: to that's Craig Carton. It sounded like more Dolan.
- 11:20Speaker 6: They don't want the celebration. The I can't tell you
- 11:24Speaker 6: why they don't want the celebration right the I'm not
- 11:28Speaker 6: sure they know why they don't want to celebrate, but
- 11:31Speaker 6: they clearly don't want it.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Well case of Jessica Tish, you know he's just being
- 11:37Speaker 1: overly cautious. Doesn't want any trouble case of mom, Donnie.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think he doesn't like people celebrating. He doesn't want
- 11:43Speaker 1: to see you happy. You know, he's a socialist. They
- 11:45Speaker 1: like to see you walking around waiting in a breadline, scowling.
- 11:48Speaker 1: The socialists. They don't want to see you happy. They
- 11:50Speaker 1: don't it's not good smiling having fun at real left winger.
- 11:55Speaker 1: They don't like that at all. Let's hear some more, Dolan.
- 11:58Speaker 6: All I would say to the mayor and to the
- 12:00Speaker 6: Commissioner is right, believe in New Yorkers. Believe New Yorkers
- 12:05Speaker 6: can handle this right. We're the greatest city in the world.
- 12:08Speaker 6: We got to We got the greatest citizens and fans
- 12:10Speaker 6: in the world. They are not going to turn this
- 12:13Speaker 6: right into.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Well and nice thought. But you see the other night
- 12:19Speaker 1: stomping on that police car, putting one hundred dents in it.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Trust first in your own police departments that they can
- 12:25Speaker 6: handle it right, and then trust the fans themselves that
- 12:28Speaker 6: they're not maniacs. Right, they're enthusiastic.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, we'll get to a platin. They're coming up
- 12:35Speaker 1: a little later. So Bill Gates had to go before
- 12:39Speaker 1: the Epstein Investigating Committee and testify about his relationship with
- 12:45Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. He had quite a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 12:49Speaker 1: He was very tangled up with Jeffrey Epstein. He spent
- 12:53Speaker 1: a lot of hours and a lot of nights in
- 12:56Speaker 1: that townhouse, and there were a lot of women around,
- 12:58Speaker 1: not under age, they were older women. But what the
- 13:03Speaker 1: hell was he doing there obviously was for women, you
- 13:06Speaker 1: know the reason this happens. Sometimes you can say, well,
- 13:10Speaker 1: the guy's the multi the richest, most famous guy on earth.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Can he get all the women he wants? It doesn't
- 13:15Speaker 1: quite work that way. I probably could, but he doesn't
- 13:18Speaker 1: know how to do it. He's not built for that.
- 13:19Speaker 1: He's not set up for that. He's got a huge
- 13:22Speaker 1: staff of people that know how to get all kinds
- 13:24Speaker 1: of things done that they don't know how to get done.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And that's what a lot of these fixers do. It's
- 13:29Speaker 1: not millions of Epstein's not bad, and most of them
- 13:33Speaker 1: are quite legitimate people, these fixers, But that's why billionaires
- 13:37Speaker 1: latch onto them. They'll take care of stuff for you
- 13:39Speaker 1: that you don't want to have to do yourself. You know,
- 13:42Speaker 1: let's say you want to get your kid into Harvard.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You don't want to be seen making these calls. So
- 13:47Speaker 1: the guy, I'll do it for you whatever you need.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And when it comes to women, these fixtures always have
- 13:53Speaker 1: a ton of women. If you're Bill Gates and I
- 13:56Speaker 1: got to go around picking up women, but this guy
- 13:58Speaker 1: has plenty of You go into his house and private.
- 14:00Speaker 1: So that's what it's all about. Now, Bill Gates walking
- 14:04Speaker 1: into the hearings, He's got to testify under oath for
- 14:06Speaker 1: hours about Epstein. Listen to him coming in.
- 14:09Speaker 7: Glad to be here voluntarily.
- 14:11Speaker 1: To glad to be here. I think out of if
- 14:15Speaker 1: you named every possible thing on earth you could do,
- 14:17Speaker 1: this would be like ten millionth on the list. Glad
- 14:20Speaker 1: to be.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Here, Glad to be here voluntarily, to testify to help
- 14:24Speaker 7: of the committee's work. I'll start with an opening statement
- 14:28Speaker 7: in the hearing room. I hope my testimony is helpful
- 14:32Speaker 7: to the important work of the committee to find justice
- 14:36Speaker 7: for the victims.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so he basically said that Epstein was blackmailing. At
- 14:41Speaker 1: some point, he said he wouldn't admit to any affairs
- 14:44Speaker 1: in the Epstein house, but he said Epstein knew of
- 14:48Speaker 1: some affairs well house, what you know, and that he
- 14:50Speaker 1: kept holding that over him. He said, that's I don't
- 14:53Speaker 1: know if he was blackmail. He said, that's the reason
- 14:55Speaker 1: he kept going back, because the question is why did
- 14:59Speaker 1: you keep coming back there over and oh, you kept
- 15:01Speaker 1: coming back all the time. So the blackmail explanation, I
- 15:04Speaker 1: guess is for that. The original explanation as to why
- 15:07Speaker 1: he went was to he needed money. He was trying
- 15:09Speaker 1: to raise money for his charity. Very important that he
- 15:12Speaker 1: get money for his charity. This explanation doesn't make any
- 15:16Speaker 1: sense at all. Gates is worth one hundred billion dollars,
- 15:21Speaker 1: Epstein's worth one hundred million. It should be the other
- 15:24Speaker 1: way around. Should be Epstein going to Gateshouse began for money.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You got one hundred million, one hundred billion. He's got
- 15:32Speaker 1: over a well over one hundred billion, all the money
- 15:35Speaker 1: he needs for so and I've been in I'm on
- 15:39Speaker 1: the board of a lot of charities. I've been to
- 15:41Speaker 1: these meetings where you go see the billionaire and to
- 15:44Speaker 1: get money for a charity. I've never seen one of
- 15:46Speaker 1: these meetings take more than a half hour. Maybe maybe
- 15:50Speaker 1: if it's going well or you start talking to it,
- 15:52Speaker 1: maybe it could go forty five minutes. It's not seven hours,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and you leave at midnight. There's no philanthropy meeting that
- 15:59Speaker 1: go seven hours and you're leaving the house at midnight.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And Gates was doing that a lot. So, uh, everything
- 16:05Speaker 1: he's saying does not past the smell test or the
- 16:07Speaker 1: left test. But we'll get back to Bill Gates and
- 16:10Speaker 1: we'll take some calls.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Next.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 16:20Speaker 8: Fox them all live from the w R Life back studios.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Hey, let's station called eight hundred three to two one
- 16:30Speaker 1: zero seven ten is And I'm gonna go to Peter
- 16:32Speaker 1: in Manhattan. Peter, how you doing?
- 16:35Speaker 9: Hey, how are you doing? Mak goody, Mark, I have
- 16:39Speaker 9: a question for you. It's kind of hard to believe
- 16:41Speaker 9: in attorney doesn't know what is your client or what
- 16:44Speaker 9: is there you know back or what is the high
- 16:46Speaker 9: answer or you know what I mean?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Anyway, I have no idea what you're talking about. Who
- 16:50Speaker 1: are we talking about?
- 16:51Speaker 9: There's a witch, I mean, he's there. They're curious about
- 16:55Speaker 9: him and this investigation too.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Yeah, well no, no, I don't know.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I don't think that's through Dershowitz, this anti semite that
- 17:04Speaker 1: always calls us now, Uh. Dershowitz was Epstein's lawyer for many, many,
- 17:13Speaker 1: many years. He knows a lot of stuff and and
- 17:17Speaker 1: he's been quite public talking about it on the air. Yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 1: he was once accused by Virginia Goufrey, Geoffrey, whatever her
- 17:24Speaker 1: name was. I think she's no longer with us. She
- 17:27Speaker 1: accused him of being involved in some of the sex.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Now it was totally false accusations. Dershowitz went to court
- 17:33Speaker 1: and suit her and had a great case against her,
- 17:35Speaker 1: but she later admitted she had just made stuff up.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So Dershwitz has never ever been seriously accused of anything.
- 17:41Speaker 1: But he knows a lot of the inner workings of
- 17:44Speaker 1: Epstein because he represented Epstein in the first case. So
- 17:48Speaker 1: Epstein had to tell him everything everything, And he's great
- 17:53Speaker 1: at shedding light, you know, there was always this study.
- 17:54Speaker 1: He works for the Mussad, he works for the CIA,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and Dershowitz is able to shed a lot of light,
- 18:00Speaker 1: and that he did not. I mean, he might have
- 18:02Speaker 1: tried to tell people that, but if it were true,
- 18:05Speaker 1: he could have used it in the first case to
- 18:06Speaker 1: get himself out of trouble.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Get a better deal.
- 18:08Speaker 1: But as Dershists will explain, he had absolutely nothing to
- 18:12Speaker 1: make a deal with the first time. Let's go to
- 18:15Speaker 1: Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing, good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike.
- 18:21Speaker 8: With all the stuff that needs to be done, I'm
- 18:22Speaker 8: still not quite sure. This obsession with the Epstein stuff
- 18:25Speaker 8: is with the public and the Congress and the media.
- 18:29Speaker 8: I don't understand how it impact anybody's life other.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Than well, I don't know.
- 18:33Speaker 1: A lot of times something strange obsession. Well, when a
- 18:36Speaker 1: rumor starts a conspiracy. There there was the rumor that
- 18:38Speaker 1: he had a client list, that he had clients and
- 18:41Speaker 1: wealthy guys that were getting sex with underage girls and
- 18:43Speaker 1: they were clients. None of this was true. There were
- 18:45Speaker 1: underage girls sex with Epstein. It was strictly him personally
- 18:49Speaker 1: and maybe some a couple of me. I think Prince
- 18:52Speaker 1: Andrew was probably in there. But all these guys there
- 18:54Speaker 1: were not clients. Epstein didn't have a sex business of
- 18:57Speaker 1: any kind.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Like a complete waste of time and energy and resources
- 19:01Speaker 8: the Congress could be doing. You know, they could pass
- 19:03Speaker 8: the Save Act to Heaven's sake, you know when.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You know, But once these conspiracy something like that. That's
- 19:08Speaker 1: these conspiracy theory start. If it's something they want to believe.
- 19:11Speaker 1: No matter what, you can't convince them it's not true.
- 19:13Speaker 1: You're right, they'll believe it forever. Yeah, and they think
- 19:17Speaker 1: Trump was involved.
- 19:19Speaker 8: Yes, are you planning on going on to the US
- 19:22Speaker 8: Open to Shinnacock.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I would never ever ever go to that. First of all,
- 19:27Speaker 1: it's in the Hamptons. I wouldn't set foot in the
- 19:29Speaker 1: Hampton Second of all, there is nothing worse then going
- 19:33Speaker 1: to a golf tournament. You don't see a damn thing.
- 19:36Speaker 1: You know, when you watch it on TV, you see
- 19:38Speaker 1: every shot, every play, every hole. You see the guy
- 19:41Speaker 1: on this whole sink the putt, then they cut immediately
- 19:43Speaker 1: to this other hole where a guy's t and off.
- 19:45Speaker 1: You don't see any of that. When you're there, You're
- 19:47Speaker 1: stuck on one hole.
- 19:48Speaker 8: You're completely ready.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 8: I went to the first one they had at Best
- 19:51Speaker 8: Page and it was everybody was drunk. I went to
- 19:56Speaker 8: the practice round and it was like eight in the morning.
- 19:58Speaker 8: Everybody was drunk already, was completely crazy.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So yeah, Hey, the only thing I want to go to.
- 20:03Speaker 1: You never want to go to these tournaments if you
- 20:05Speaker 1: can go in the days before when the guy when
- 20:07Speaker 1: they're on the driving range, watch the pros on a
- 20:10Speaker 1: driving range. That is something to.
- 20:11Speaker 8: Say, that's the best. Yes, the practice days are the best.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Just go watch these guys the day or two
- 20:16Speaker 1: before they come to the club and they're on the drive.
- 20:18Speaker 1: You watch these guys in a driving range. It's unbelievable
- 20:22Speaker 1: that you want to say, it's unbelievable. All right, thanks
- 20:24Speaker 1: for calling uh one more, Vincent and Brooklyn. We only
- 20:28Speaker 1: got like a minute, but go ahead, Vincent.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Mark these riots at Brian Park, people attacking the police,
- 20:35Speaker 2: stopping on police cause, mixing it up with the cops.
- 20:40Speaker 2: This is just another example of how the city's going
- 20:44Speaker 2: down the toilet on the people like Alvin Bragg. And
- 20:49Speaker 2: unfortunately Jessica Tish wants to do the right thing. She
- 20:53Speaker 2: wants to do the job. She wants to go full
- 20:55Speaker 2: battle to the metal, but uh ma'am and Dommi and
- 21:00Speaker 2: album brag holding her back. And unfortunately these poor cops
- 21:05Speaker 2: know that the judges are gonna let all these bums go.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Back in the day, you wouldn't have even dead thought
- 21:12Speaker 2: about attacking a cop stopping on a car back in
- 21:15Speaker 2: the day the police stare ledged. I was running away
- 21:19Speaker 2: from a crime scene and out of nowhere a cop
- 21:22Speaker 2: comes and hits cracks me across the head with the
- 21:25Speaker 2: bat and they had to take me to Bellvue to
- 21:28Speaker 2: sew up my head before they don't.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well, as Curtis would call it, I wouldn't shampoo,
- 21:32Speaker 1: but fincas to show you, Yeah, we got it. Great call,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Bring back those night sticks. Hey, when
- 21:40Speaker 1: we come back, we hope to talk to Steve Moore,
- 21:42Speaker 1: the great economists. What's really going on with inflation with
- 21:45Speaker 1: oil with a w rent. We'll get to all of
- 21:47Speaker 1: that coming up next on seven to ten w R.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Back to Mark Simone on wor Well.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Steve Moore, the brilliant economist. Hey, make sure you get
- 21:58Speaker 1: his latest book, but Trump Ecking Miracle. If you really
- 22:01Speaker 1: want to understand all this, it's a great reading, The
- 22:04Speaker 1: Trump Economic Miracle. Also, he runs the committee to Unleashed
- 22:07Speaker 1: Prosperity and they put out the best daily briefing of
- 22:10Speaker 1: issues analysis. If you want to sound really smart, read
- 22:13Speaker 1: this every day. It's free. It'll come write your email.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Just go sign up. Go to Unleash Prosperity dot com.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Unleash prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 22:25Speaker 8: Hey, Mark.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I'm doing pretty well. I think the economy is doing
- 22:28Speaker 5: pretty well too. I mean, I know we got a
- 22:30Speaker 5: disappointing inflation report yesterday, but it wasn't really step that.
- 22:35Speaker 5: We have inflation running at four point two percent, but
- 22:38Speaker 5: that's all being driven right now by the high price
- 22:41Speaker 5: of oil. And when we get that oil price to
- 22:43Speaker 5: come back down, which it will, I think we'll see
- 22:46Speaker 5: lower inflation this summer. Incidentally, did you know that the
- 22:50Speaker 5: average gas price, we have this in the hotline today,
- 22:53Speaker 5: the average gas price under Trump and both his first
- 22:57Speaker 5: term and so far in a second term, lower in
- 23:00Speaker 5: inflation adjusted dollars than under Obama and Biden.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Except if you if you watch the NBC Nightly News
- 23:07Speaker 1: or ABC, if you watch MS, and all these gas
- 23:10Speaker 1: prices up, inflation shoots up, they make it sound like
- 23:14Speaker 1: it's a total disaster.
- 23:17Speaker 5: Well, if people are angry about the price of groceries,
- 23:20Speaker 5: and people are angry about the being a price of
- 23:22Speaker 5: filling up a tank, and it is a tax on
- 23:24Speaker 5: the economy when you have oil prices as high as
- 23:27Speaker 5: they are now. But they're going to come down, and
- 23:29Speaker 5: we're going to see this summer real boom in the economy,
- 23:33Speaker 5: especially given what's going on with our industry with respect
- 23:37Speaker 5: to the technology is the industry. The construction industry is
- 23:40Speaker 5: doing very well in terms of with all sorts of
- 23:43Speaker 5: construction projects all over the country. Manufacturing is making a comeback.
- 23:47Speaker 5: And you know, as our buddy Larry Cumbo says, we're
- 23:49Speaker 5: in the midst of one of the biggest investment booms
- 23:52Speaker 5: in American history.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, just explain to people, because again people watch
- 23:57Speaker 1: the Network News, they're getting totally calm when when you
- 24:00Speaker 1: lower taxes you actually get more revenue. Isn't that the case?
- 24:05Speaker 5: Well, this is a good time day to explain that,
- 24:08Speaker 5: because you know, Bob Packwood, who was a Senator from Oregon,
- 24:12Speaker 5: died this week. He is famous for being the Senate
- 24:16Speaker 5: sponsor of something called the Tax Reform Act of nineteen
- 24:19Speaker 5: eighty six. And what we did, and that was sort
- 24:22Speaker 5: of the tail end of the Reagan administration, we cut
- 24:24Speaker 5: the highest on the Reagan we had to cut the
- 24:26Speaker 5: highest tax rate from seventy percent down to twenty eight percent.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Now here's a question for you, Mark, what do you
- 24:33Speaker 5: think happened to tax payments by the rich. Do you
- 24:35Speaker 5: think they went up or down?
- 24:37Speaker 8: Up?
- 24:39Speaker 5: It's called the Laffer curve. It it works every time. So
- 24:42Speaker 5: the rate was lower. And by the way, one of
- 24:44Speaker 5: the things we did in nineteen eighty six was we
- 24:46Speaker 5: cleared out all the special interest loopholes and all of
- 24:49Speaker 5: the you know, all of the you know, lobbyist provisions
- 24:52Speaker 5: that have been putting the bill over fifty years. And
- 24:55Speaker 5: we just cleaned out the stable. So everybody would pay
- 24:58Speaker 5: a low rate, but everybody'd pay their fare share. Why
- 25:01Speaker 5: can't we do that again? You know, we haven't done
- 25:02Speaker 5: anything like that. So all we do is add more
- 25:04Speaker 5: and more special interest loopholes and carve outs for big lobbyists,
- 25:09Speaker 5: and the little guy gets screwed.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Yeah, if we did the flat tax, everybody pays seventeen percent,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I love it. Wouldn't that bring more revenue of the
- 25:17Speaker 1: flat tax?
- 25:18Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, I mean we could do a you know,
- 25:21Speaker 5: eighteen percent flat tax everybody pays. You just get a
- 25:25Speaker 5: deduction for the number of kids you have, so you
- 25:27Speaker 5: know the expense of raising your family is covered. But
- 25:31Speaker 5: you don't get right of us for all this other stuff.
- 25:34Speaker 5: And then and then you know, you would raise so
- 25:36Speaker 5: much revenue, and we'd have the lowest tax rate in
- 25:38Speaker 5: the world. We'd just be a magnet, a bigger magnet
- 25:41Speaker 5: for capital investment in this country. Think about the jobs
- 25:44Speaker 5: we would create, although we'd lose a lot of irs
- 25:47Speaker 5: jobs and we probably lose a lot of you know,
- 25:50Speaker 5: tax accounting shops.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Now, the only reason we can't do it is because
- 25:53Speaker 1: all the people in Congress sell these loopholes and these
- 25:56Speaker 1: carve outs, right, that's the reason we can't do it.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you know, it used to be you could
- 26:01Speaker 5: get carveouts for you know, investing in both firm or
- 26:04Speaker 5: and you know, abandoned apartment buildings and solar energy and
- 26:09Speaker 5: all this stuff. And why not just create a level
- 26:12Speaker 5: playing field and in by the way, wouldn't it be
- 26:14Speaker 5: amazing if it only took your ten minutes to fill
- 26:16Speaker 5: out your tax form every year. You didn't have to
- 26:18Speaker 5: have an army of accountants, so it would be so simple.
- 26:21Speaker 5: But you know, nobody in Washington wants that because we
- 26:24Speaker 5: derive our power in Washington mark from all the all
- 26:27Speaker 5: the special interest provisions in the tax code, and that's
- 26:30Speaker 5: what we buy and sell in this city.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, unbelievable, Hey, a Social Security Steve Moore, how healthy
- 26:36Speaker 1: is the Social Security system?
- 26:39Speaker 5: Well, the numbers that came out yesterday should not be
- 26:42Speaker 5: too surprising that anyone who pays attention to this stuff
- 26:44Speaker 5: that the Social Security Administration now admits what everyone knows,
- 26:48Speaker 5: which is that by the year twenty thirty two, maybe
- 26:51Speaker 5: people didn't realize it was going to happen so fast,
- 26:53Speaker 5: but by twenty and thirty two, it's back up, it's
- 26:55Speaker 5: out of it, it's out of a out of money.
- 26:57Speaker 5: And so this is an incredible you know, a situation
- 27:01Speaker 5: where we have a Ponzi scheme with Social Security. They
- 27:03Speaker 5: spent all the money it was supposed to be for
- 27:05Speaker 5: your and my retirement, and they spent on other government programs.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I mean, if Mark, if you were running a private
- 27:11Speaker 5: business and you had a pension plan and you were
- 27:14Speaker 5: the CEO of that company and you started spending the
- 27:16Speaker 5: pension money on other programs and put you in jail
- 27:19Speaker 5: for fraud. WOWA to put Congress in jail for fraud.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Twenty thirty two, that's only six years from now.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I know exactly, you know, and we knew this
- 27:31Speaker 5: day was coming, and Congress did nothing about it. And
- 27:34Speaker 5: so what what I've been proposing, and I've been proposing
- 27:37Speaker 5: this for forty years, is that young people take that
- 27:39Speaker 5: twelve percent of their paycheck, put it into you know,
- 27:43Speaker 5: an index fund like an IRA funder, a four to
- 27:45Speaker 5: one K plan. And if if you and I and
- 27:48Speaker 5: the people listening to the show had been able to
- 27:49Speaker 5: do that starting thirty forty years ago, we would be
- 27:52Speaker 5: getting so security, we would keep getting retirement benefits, it
- 27:55Speaker 5: would be three times higher, and we'd be able to
- 27:58Speaker 5: leave our children at a million dollars.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Wow, unbelievable. Hey, this crazy mayor Seattle, this left wing
- 28:05Speaker 1: mayor who's spooking all these corporations they're leaving town. Seems
- 28:09Speaker 1: like she's backtracking a little. You think she's seeing the
- 28:12Speaker 1: light and what's going on there?
- 28:14Speaker 5: Which point is that the one in Seattle? Yeah, there's
- 28:17Speaker 5: so many crazy mayors out there at Seattle. Oh yeah,
- 28:21Speaker 5: she's the one who said bye bye to the rich
- 28:23Speaker 5: people who said we're leaving because you just raised our
- 28:25Speaker 5: taxes by up to ten percent. And so get you know,
- 28:29Speaker 5: you're seeing the people at Microsoft, You're seeing the people
- 28:31Speaker 5: at Amazon, your people seeing the people at Starbucks, all
- 28:34Speaker 5: these iconic Seattle companies they're leaving, you know. And it
- 28:39Speaker 5: just goes to show something we've talked about so many times.
- 28:42Speaker 5: If you tax something, you get less of it. You
- 28:43Speaker 5: keep taxing these people and they leave.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we have this crazy governor in New York who
- 28:49Speaker 1: said the same thing. Now she's saying, we want you
- 28:51Speaker 1: to stay. How come they can't figure out if your
- 28:54Speaker 1: business is tax revenue, don't chase away your biggest customers,
- 28:57Speaker 1: the months that pay the most.
- 28:59Speaker 5: Why can't they figure And you would, you would think that.
- 29:01Speaker 5: And yet you know here where they go, you know,
- 29:04Speaker 5: and you've got all these states and cities. You know,
- 29:07Speaker 5: look by the way, look at you know, you want
- 29:08Speaker 5: to talk about chasing way businesses. How about Chicago. They're
- 29:11Speaker 5: losing the Bears my goodnesstakes because they couldn't. The taxes
- 29:14Speaker 5: are so high and the costs are so high in Chicago,
- 29:16Speaker 5: and I grew up in Chicago. We're losing the Bears.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Oh my god, it's the end of the world. They're
- 29:20Speaker 5: gonna be in Hammond, Indiana. Indiana is going to have
- 29:23Speaker 5: two football NFL franchises and Illinois gonna have zero.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Wow, he's not kidding, He's not kidding. The Chicago Bears
- 29:29Speaker 1: are going to move.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Uh, they're going to Hammond, Indiana. And that's going to
- 29:33Speaker 5: be bad for the NFL. It's bad for Chicago, and
- 29:35Speaker 5: it's bad for everybody. But you have incompetent leadership in
- 29:38Speaker 5: Brandon Johnson and h and JB. Fatso Pritzker, who wants
- 29:43Speaker 5: to run for president. By the way, he's going to
- 29:44Speaker 5: run for president, saying yeah, I'm the one who lost
- 29:46Speaker 5: the Chicago Bearers.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Hell, you have every team moving to Canada by
- 29:51Speaker 1: the time he's done his present exactly. Well, Steve Moore,
- 29:54Speaker 1: great stuff and keep up the good work. And everybody
