- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Mr.
- 0:01Speaker 1: New York. Now three hours every weekday from 9 till
- 0:05Speaker 1: noon on 710WOR. Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is
- 0:07Speaker 1: the number.
- 0:07Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Let's go to Paul, North Carolina. Paul, how you doing?
- 0:10Speaker 4: Hey, Mark.
- 0:11Speaker 1: How's it going?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Good.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Interesting detail about the disruptive guy on the plane.
- 0:29Speaker 4: The guy sitting next to him was actually a pastor
- 0:31Speaker 4: and a rabbi, a messianic rabbi, which I believe Jesus
- 0:35Speaker 4: is the Messiah. And a very well-known guy, Jonathan Cahn,
- 0:40Speaker 4: widely reported in the Post and TV interviews. But he
- 0:44Speaker 4: said that he wasn't drunk, he was very pleasant, and
- 0:47Speaker 4: he feels that it was a demonic spirit that came
- 0:50Speaker 4: over him. instantly changed him when the subject of Jesus
- 0:53Speaker 4: came up between the two of him.
- 0:55Speaker 1: All right. Again, I give you my plain rule. One,
- 0:58Speaker 1: don't talk to the person next to you. If you
- 1:00Speaker 1: have to talk to him, forget Jesus. Talk about, uh,
- 1:04Speaker 1: the Knicks. Don't talk about Jesus with the person.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Believe me.
- 1:07Speaker 4: I know I ended up sitting next to a, uh,
- 1:10Speaker 4: former New Jersey Congressman, uh, a year or two ago,
- 1:13Speaker 4: flying back to New York for work. And, uh, Ended
- 1:17Speaker 4: up having to have a whole political conversation.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Again, don't talk to the person next to you. If
- 1:22Speaker 1: you find out it's a New Jersey congressman, change seats.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Don't sit next to him.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Believe me, I would have if I could.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for calling. Let's go to Sandy in Rhode Island. Sandy,
- 1:33Speaker 1: where are you in Rhode Island?
- 1:35Speaker 3: Mark Simone, it's so good to talk to you. I
- 1:37Speaker 3: haven't talked to you in two years.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Oh, where are you in Rhode Island?
- 1:41Speaker 3: In Westerly, Rhode Island.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Very nice place. Do you know that I used to
- 1:45Speaker 1: be on WPRO Providence, Rhode Island?
- 1:48Speaker 3: You were?
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yes. Wow.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well, Taylor Swift has a house here on the
- 1:53Speaker 3: beach in Watch Hill.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where the Ocean House is, right?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Most beautiful, beautiful New England hotel resort in the world.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It is. Well, Michael, you know everything, and I've been
- 2:06Speaker 3: wanting to call you for a long time. I've been
- 2:09Speaker 3: praying for Nancy, Savannah Guthrie's mother, that they'll find her.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Have you heard anything at all? It's been seven months,
- 2:19Speaker 3: and the last thing I heard, she got a note
- 2:21Speaker 3: saying her mother was buried in nature. I don't hear
- 2:24Speaker 3: anything on the radio.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well, I noticed this past two weeks, for the first
- 2:29Speaker 1: time ever, Nancy Guthrie says, when she talks about her mother,
- 2:32Speaker 1: she was. She's using the past tense on her now.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So I guess she's accepted the fact that she's gone,
- 2:40Speaker 1: most likely buried somewhere. They may eventually find her, her remains.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I hope so. Yeah. All right. Well, thanks for calling.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Apparently there were a bunch of ransom notes or notes
- 2:53Speaker 1: from various people claiming to be the kidnapper. There was
- 2:56Speaker 1: one that apparently was the real one because he, in
- 3:00Speaker 1: the note, identified the type of watch, the color of
- 3:03Speaker 1: the Apple watch she was wearing, something about her... cell phone.
- 3:07Speaker 1: They knew enough that they knew it was the real guy.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And that's the one that said she's buried in nature now.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Let's go to Rob Franklin Square. Rob, how you doing?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Hi, Mark. Before I get to Comics Unleashed, I'd like
- 3:21Speaker 2: to shout out to Righteous Brother Bill Medley's birthday. Tomorrow
- 3:25Speaker 2: he'll be 86. With Comics Unleashed, I noticed that they've
- 3:29Speaker 2: only done like four seasons based over like almost 20 years. No, no, no.
- 3:33Speaker 1: They've done thousands of shows. They've done it for 20 years.
- 3:36Speaker 2: But the seasons like today, the show tonight is from
- 3:42Speaker 2: November 2025. and then the second one, 1205, is from
- 3:47Speaker 2: Season 1.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Just like the other late-night shows, they do occasionally run reruns.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been syndicated, but I think the four seasons,
- 3:57Speaker 2: I don't think a lot of them weren't shown in
- 3:58Speaker 2: New York until.
- 3:59Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, they were. He had a deal where
- 4:02Speaker 1: they were on Channel 4 late at night, but now
- 4:04Speaker 1: they're on CBS.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Oh, I thought they were always on CBS. Maybe that's
- 4:07Speaker 2: why I probably didn't see it.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You're a big fan of Comics Unleashed?
- 4:11Speaker 5: I like it.
- 4:11Speaker 2: You know, they had a show on earlier this week.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It was Sebastian. I can't butcher his name. He's like
- 4:18Speaker 2: the hottest comedian. It was from season one.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Sebastian DiScalco.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, 2006. Yeah, it's good. It's good. Anything's better than
- 4:27Speaker 2: that Colbert.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Thank God. Thanks for calling. It's a great show, Comics Unleashed.
- 4:33Speaker 1: They fired Colbert and Byron Allen. A comedian who became
- 4:39Speaker 1: a big businessman, a billionaire now, came up with this
- 4:42Speaker 1: Comics Unleashed many years ago. So he actually buys the
- 4:45Speaker 1: time from CBS. He buys the hour and he runs
- 4:48Speaker 1: Comics Unleashed. And it's a very funny show with great comedians.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And it's just comedy. There's no politics. Not only are
- 4:58Speaker 1: you not allowed to do any political jokes, you can't
- 4:59Speaker 1: do any topical jokes. So it's timeless. And that's why
- 5:02Speaker 1: they can rerun a show from years ago. It's totally timeless.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Very successful. It's crushing Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel in
- 5:11Speaker 1: 18 to 49-year-olds. That's the most important demo. So it's
- 5:14Speaker 1: beating the hell out of them right now. Let's go
- 5:17Speaker 1: to Pete in Wayne, New Jersey. Pete, how are you doing?
- 5:20Speaker 4: Hey, good, Mark.
- 5:21Speaker 1: How are you?
- 5:22Speaker 5: I go back a long way with you. I actually
- 5:24Speaker 5: listened to you when you were on the Simone phone
- 5:26Speaker 5: when I was a young kid.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You're still a young kid.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Excuse me?
- 5:31Speaker 1: Still a young kid.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm 66, but I feel like I'm 30.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Um going back um i was thinking about old talk
- 5:40Speaker 5: old time talk radio and i remember bob grant and
- 5:43Speaker 5: his opening monologues and most people never listen to bob
- 5:47Speaker 5: grant but if you go back now and listen to
- 5:50Speaker 5: his opening monologues they were epic well.
- 5:53Speaker 1: He was a very smart guy very articulate guy not
- 5:56Speaker 1: the nicest guy in the world in real life but
- 5:57Speaker 1: a very great talk show host and uh He would
- 6:01Speaker 1: open the show. What did he say? Let's be heard.
- 6:04Speaker 1: All right. He would always do that.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Straight ahead.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Straight ahead.
- 6:07Speaker 5: And he'd say, straight ahead. And he'd say, free to
- 6:10Speaker 5: the open.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Wait.
- 6:12Speaker 5: The show dedicated to the free and open exchange.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Of ideas and of opinions. Yeah.
- 6:18Speaker 5: So I'm wondering if you would ever consider doing like
- 6:21Speaker 5: an opening monologue the way he did.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Many people copied Bob Grant. Mark Levin copies him. He
- 6:28Speaker 1: always talks about him. Sean Hannity. A little once in
- 6:32Speaker 1: a while throws him in. I tried very hard never
- 6:34Speaker 1: to be like Bob Grant. No, no, no.
- 6:36Speaker 5: You have a different shtick. You're more pleasant. But I'm
- 6:39Speaker 5: saying if you ever did his opening monologue, I think
- 6:41Speaker 5: it would make a great show that much even better.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Well, we already do an opening monologue.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Well, and the way he did it, like he would
- 6:49Speaker 5: attack like a hot topic and he would just dissect
- 6:52Speaker 5: it and make you think.
- 6:54Speaker 1: He was also could be a bit of a racist
- 6:57Speaker 1: at times. He had a lot of bad sides to him, too.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Remember, he got run out of town several times. And, yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 1: one time he was run out of town. He couldn't
- 7:07Speaker 1: come back for like eight years. And then early 2000s,
- 7:12Speaker 1: remember the New York Magazine big, he put him on
- 7:15Speaker 1: the cover. It was called Hate Radio. And then, again,
- 7:19Speaker 1: the racist stuff always caught up with him. He tried
- 7:21Speaker 1: to tone it down in later years. But then one
- 7:24Speaker 1: comment got him fired from ABC. Let's go to Vera
- 7:28Speaker 1: in New York. Vera, how are you doing?
- 7:31Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 7:32Speaker 4: First time caller.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Thanks for calling, Vera.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Okay, I was calling you about the Balance of Nature
- 7:37Speaker 4: promo code that you gave out.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 5: I called them to try to get it, and they
- 7:42Speaker 5: wouldn't give it to me.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's for everybody. We don't want you to
- 7:45Speaker 1: have it. It's just you. They don't want you to
- 7:46Speaker 1: have it.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Well, no, they said the only way you can get
- 7:50Speaker 5: it is to subscribe.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Well, I think you have to have a subscription because
- 7:54Speaker 1: you've got to take it every month or every day.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But go to balanceofnature.com. Go to balanceofnature.com, the website.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Yes, but I did that. I'm just trying to explain
- 8:04Speaker 5: to you, when you give out the promo code, that's
- 8:07Speaker 5: the part that's missing.
- 8:08Speaker 2: It doesn't mention subscription. So when you go on, you know,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I mean, if I like it, I.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Keep buying it. Oh, I think you can try it.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I think you can try it just once and then
- 8:19Speaker 1: cancel the subscription.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Oh, that's a smart idea.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Thank you, sir. All right. They do that all the time.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Every product does that now.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Every.
- 8:28Speaker 1: News site, everything. Hey, you can have it now at $ 9.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And in the fine print, it says, after that, your
- 8:35Speaker 1: subscription is $ 20 a month. So you have to sign
- 8:39Speaker 1: up for the subscription and then cancel it if you
- 8:41Speaker 1: don't like it. But balance of nature, you're going to
- 8:43Speaker 1: love it. You're not going to cancel. Hey, when we
- 8:46Speaker 1: come back, plastic surgery. Everybody's got questions. Everybody's thinking of
- 8:50Speaker 1: plastic surgery. We've got the best plastic surgeon, Dr. Arthur Perry.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We'll ask him all the questions you want to know
- 8:56Speaker 1: about plastic surgery. Coming up next on 710WOR.
