- 0:01Charles Darwin in his book, The Origin of Species summarizes his
- 0:07observations about the evolution of forms and how this Evolution
- 0:12came about. He explains that there is a
- 0:16pressure in nature, which eventually leads to the survival
- 0:19of the fittest who then go on to reproduce and thereby pass on
- 0:25whatever qualities. Help them survive, the
- 0:27challenges of life. While there is much to applaud
- 0:31in this book, it is not without its detractors, and it's
- 0:36obvious, internal weaknesses, one, glaring.
- 0:40Weakness is the lack of what our scene is.
- 0:42Transitional links in the fossil record that show the steps of
- 0:46this evolution of forms. Another weakness is the
- 0:50inability to address any purpose or significance to this vast.
- 0:55Machinery of nature SRI aurobindo addresses, both For
- 1:00these apparent issues. First, he describes not as
- 1:05smooth and slow, evolution of forms, but what he calls an
- 1:09evolutionary psaltis at a certain stage, when the
- 1:14underlying causative factors are prepared.
- 1:17Second he identifies the causative factors as
- 1:21Consciousness and the evolution of Consciousness in ever more
- 1:26powerful and complex, formations.
- 1:29It is this evolution of Consciousness, which creates the
- 1:33needed development of forms to embody that consciousness.
- 1:38By reframing, the question of evolution away from a purely
- 1:41mechanical activity of physical nature to one of the development
- 1:46of Consciousness. He also puts before us the
- 1:50proposition, that man is not the final stage of evolution, but in
- 1:55fact, is a transitional, being further evolutionary
- 2:00developments are anticipated. And in fact, signs can be seen
- 2:05in the human aspiration. That such developments are in
- 2:08fact taking place within the scope of human existence.
- 2:14This provides a purpose and a focus for each individual beyond
- 2:17the mere acts required for existence and survival, and of
- 2:22more significance than simple enjoyment were entertainment.
- 2:27Those who are awake to a deeper aspect of life are called
- 2:30therefore to what SRI aurobindo terms in adventure of
- 2:34consciousness. SRI aurobindo writes in the
- 2:38Life, Divine quote, to become ourselves is the one thing to be
- 2:43done. But the true ourselves is that
- 2:46which is within us. And to exceed our outer self of
- 2:50body. Life in mind is the condition
- 2:53for this highest being, which is our true and divine being to
- 2:58become self revealed and active. It is only by growing within and
- 3:04living within that we can find it.
- 3:07And quote, the mother observes quote, everything turns around
- 3:13the Consciousness, the fact of being or not being conscious and
- 3:17it is only in the Supreme Consciousness that you can
- 3:20attain the perfect expression of yourself for the true
- 3:24Consciousness is the Divine consciousness If you cut
- 3:28yourself off from the Divine Consciousness, you become
- 3:31absolutely unconscious. That is exactly what has
- 3:35happened. And so everything, there is the
- 3:40world as it is your Consciousness, as it is things
- 3:44in the state, they are in. Are the result of this
- 3:47separation of the Consciousness and its immediate obscuration
- 3:53The minute, the individual Consciousness is separated from
- 3:56the Divine Consciousness. It enters what we call the in
- 4:01Contents and it is this incontinence that is the cause
- 4:05of all miseries. And the conclusion of this.
- 4:10That the true transformation is the transformation of
- 4:14Consciousness. All the rest will follow
- 4:17automatically in the quote SRI, aurobindo notes further quote,
- 4:24it is by a constant inner growth that one can find a constant
- 4:28newness and unfailing interest in life.
- 4:31There is no other satisfying way and quote, reference, SRI
- 4:37aurobindo in the mother growing Within The psychology of inner
- 4:42development. The psychology of inner
- 4:42development.
