Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Tony Kats The Morning News ninety three WIBC. My name
- 0:05Speaker 1: is Craig Collins, filling in a thrilled to be with you.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's time for our Boer Popcorn Moment, brought to you
- 0:10Speaker 1: by Boer Homer modeling Tom Holman out there defending the
- 0:19Speaker 1: fact that we actually need the thing the US Supreme
- 0:22Speaker 1: Court decided on yesterday, which is to suspend the Temporary
- 0:26Speaker 1: Protection status of a whole bunch of people here that
- 0:28Speaker 1: are abusic the asylum process. Here's a little bit from Homan.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Oh wait, hold on, I actually got to make sure
- 0:33Speaker 1: that you can hear this. By hitting this, it's probably
- 0:36Speaker 1: important for the Popcorn moment to be able to hear it.
- 0:38Speaker 1: DeSantis Ron DeSantis also speaking.
- 0:40Speaker 2: This decision that the US Supreme Court is six y
- 0:42Speaker 2: three about. They can allow so the president has the
- 0:47Speaker 2: constitutional authority to make it temporary and not permanent.
- 0:51Speaker 3: So you're right, Carl. You know I've been doing this
- 0:53Speaker 3: since nineteen eighty four. TPS has never been temporary. That's
- 0:56Speaker 3: why the whole statute exists up early to get people protection,
- 1:01Speaker 3: whether the countries in turmoil or after they suffer hurricane idea.
- 1:05Speaker 3: The problem is no administrations. I've had the guts to
- 1:09Speaker 3: actually follow that tattoo. President Trump has the guts to
- 1:12Speaker 3: follow the law. So temporary means temporary. When the condition
- 1:15Speaker 3: that country gets better, they need to go home. They're right,
- 1:19Speaker 3: you know they are. Millions of people stay in line,
- 1:20Speaker 3: want to be part of the greatest nation on earth.
- 1:22Speaker 3: And that goes back to my early point view, say,
- 1:24Speaker 3: why are you wrestling if they're not cleared enter ten
- 1:26Speaker 3: years because they cheated the system. They may have been
- 1:31Speaker 3: in ten years. So let's remember when you enter the
- 1:32Speaker 3: country of legal it's a crime. And they're doing that,
- 1:34Speaker 3: putting themselves in front of the line while millions of
- 1:37Speaker 3: people are taking their tests, doing their background investigation, paying
- 1:41Speaker 3: their fees to be part of the greatest nation on.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Her including my wife. My wife became a US citizen
- 1:46Speaker 1: through our marriage while she was still in studying in college.
- 1:49Speaker 1: And so yes, absolutely, one hundred percent. This is the
- 1:53Speaker 1: kind of thing that matters to a whole lot of people.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And I love the way Holman says it's simply the
- 1:57Speaker 1: right decision. All right, I want to do something else,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and I was trying to find the audio. I can't
- 2:01Speaker 1: find it right now. Maybe we'll find it later. But
- 2:04Speaker 1: I heard through the grapevine and then even someone who
- 2:06Speaker 1: commented on our YouTube page that Hammer of the Hammer
- 2:10Speaker 1: and Nigel Show was taking shots at Carl Showbinz on
- 2:14Speaker 1: the show yesterday. So I want to fantastic Carl. So
- 2:19Speaker 1: I want to immediately put it out there. I know
- 2:21Speaker 1: that Matt might be in an awkward situation. He appears
- 2:23Speaker 1: on both this show and that show, but we are
- 2:26Speaker 1: now officially feuding us and Hammer and Nigel, least myself
- 2:29Speaker 1: and Hammer and Nigel. We're feuding because they blame Carl
- 2:33Speaker 1: for something he didn't do. The camera broke in the studio.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You go ahead, Okay, Matt was there. Matt, I don't
- 2:39Speaker 1: know what you want to say about this. I know
- 2:41Speaker 1: you got to be careful because you're on both shows.
- 2:43Speaker 4: It was totally Carl's fault. Yeah, he broke the whole
- 2:46Speaker 4: damn thing. He's breaking aaily thing. Yeah, he threw a
- 2:49Speaker 4: trash can at me yesterday.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Okay, he just went really wild and crazy. I see
- 2:54Speaker 1: his camera working right now.
- 2:58Speaker 5: I'm showing the camera because the issue was is that
- 3:01Speaker 5: the zoom was too tight on the producers.
- 3:03Speaker 6: And as you can see, it's tight on me. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 6: so I didn't break it. I don't know how to
- 3:10Speaker 6: control the zoom of this little camera.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah you didn't do anything, is what you said. You
- 3:14Speaker 1: even submitted a ticket to submitted.
- 3:16Speaker 5: A ticket, right, and they responded like, hey, it's our bad.
- 3:21Speaker 6: But all of a sudden, Hammer's trashing me. So get this.
- 3:25Speaker 5: My family listens to Hammer and Nigel when they leave work,
- 3:28Speaker 5: so they start texting us, Hey, Hammer's trashing you.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Why yeah, why? This is crazy? This isn't I think
- 3:38Speaker 1: we need an apology. I think Hammer also should serve
- 3:40Speaker 1: a one game suspension for this sort of thing.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Find a thousand dollars.
- 3:45Speaker 1: By one thousand dollars to Carl's charity of choice. We'll
- 3:48Speaker 1: go ahead and do it that way. But no, I
- 3:49Speaker 1: mean stuff breaks. Technology. Stuff breaks sometimes, and it's not
- 3:53Speaker 1: anybody's fault because the technology is a mind of its own.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And Carl did everything he could. He submitted the ticket
- 3:58Speaker 1: and Hammer went out there. Tom. So we are now
- 4:00Speaker 1: officially feuding with the show w W E style. I
- 4:04Speaker 1: want somebody to do some sort of you know, heel
- 4:06Speaker 1: speech of some kind. I would like that to happen.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm not back. This is the best way to do
- 4:10Speaker 1: this fight.
- 4:11Speaker 6: By the way, you're you're down there, we're up there.
- 4:15Speaker 6: The well.
- 4:17Speaker 1: The other thing that's great about this is Tony's back
- 4:19Speaker 1: on Monday, so I can announce the fight and then
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm totally gone. I'm in the ether immediately, and you
- 4:24Speaker 1: guys have to deal with the ramifications of this. But
- 4:26Speaker 1: come on, man, I just I heard about this and
- 4:28Speaker 1: I thought that we had to announce that the fight
- 4:30Speaker 1: was on. So bring it Hammer and Nigel Carl is
- 4:33Speaker 1: here to defend his honor.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Do we really think, Carl, do you really think you
- 4:37Speaker 4: were being an attack there? I mean that how you feel.
- 4:42Speaker 6: Hand it sounded pretty vicious.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Hey Carl, Carl, don't back down. Let's let's make this
- 4:46Speaker 1: as big as we can. This is w w E style.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Remember You're can't fight. I like the guy, No, no, no,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but your honor was disparaged. He he said everything horrible
- 4:55Speaker 1: that he possibly could. We got to ramp up, not
- 4:58Speaker 1: ramp down. I want someone to do a people's elbow
- 5:01Speaker 1: at some point. I really want to see that.
- 5:03Speaker 4: I will say this when Carl comes up on the
- 5:05Speaker 4: YouTube chat, which you can find by going to YouTube.
- 5:07Speaker 6: Of course, the face is just right there, man, you.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Know it is there.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It is well, yeah, but the cameras are I know
- 5:15Speaker 1: how the program works that you guys are using, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: I know that the cameras sometimes like zoom in and
- 5:20Speaker 1: then you gotta change it. And there's a bunch of
- 5:22Speaker 1: like secret buttons that I can tell you about. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: there are. There's some secret ones that allow you to
- 5:27Speaker 1: like shrink and change the size of a thing. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: if you don't know how those work, you're screwed the
- 5:33Speaker 1: minute that you're trying to adjust it. And Carl said,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and many of the producers probably there don't know how
- 5:38Speaker 1: that's I do know how it works, but again I
- 5:40Speaker 1: live here in Houston, so I probably can't help it.
- 5:42Speaker 6: All fantastic, This is great.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I love this whole segment. Man, I just wanted to
- 5:47Speaker 1: live out there for just a second. We are officially
- 5:49Speaker 1: I love the Hammer and Nigel show. By the way,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think they're great. I think they're awesome. We are
- 5:53Speaker 1: feuding with them. We are fighting with them because they
- 5:55Speaker 1: took a shot at our producer. How dare they? And honestly,
- 5:58Speaker 1: in all honesty, I think that Alison probably should have
- 6:01Speaker 1: helped defend too, because she used to work in this gig.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I remember Alison being a producer here when I first
- 6:06Speaker 1: started and working with us, So Alison, come on, you
- 6:09Speaker 1: can side with us. Still, it's okay, there's more people
- 6:12Speaker 1: in this tree. Am I alone?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Now?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Is anyone else going to talk?
- 6:15Speaker 4: Or is it just I was gonna say Allison, it
- 6:17Speaker 4: just like Carl. I mean, they have their own individual
- 6:19Speaker 4: chose to worry about.
- 6:20Speaker 5: You know.
- 6:21Speaker 4: I understand Alison not jumping in there and being like,
- 6:24Speaker 4: oh no, it's not Carl's fault. I mean she's managing
- 6:27Speaker 4: five different things as Carl shouldn't stick up for Allison.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I mean Carl has to deal with Tony and same
- 6:32Speaker 4: thing Alison has to do with Hambard Nigel.
- 6:34Speaker 6: So I get that, you know.
- 6:36Speaker 4: I don't know, No, go ahead, No, I was just
- 6:39Speaker 4: going to say they're on a different pay scale and
- 6:41Speaker 4: everything else, you know.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know. But I remember Alison
- 6:44Speaker 1: fondly from the time that she used to work in
- 6:46Speaker 1: the show too, so I'm expecting great things of her.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'm expecting very great things. So yes, I'm putting all
- 6:51Speaker 1: the gauntlet out. And then my favorite part is I'm
- 6:53Speaker 1: not back again. I think I am filling in a
- 6:55Speaker 1: nine to noon next Wednesday, and I probably won't mention
- 6:59Speaker 1: this at all. It's not going to I'm up in
- 7:00Speaker 1: a little bit, but it is here, and we are
- 7:02Speaker 1: defending our honor as much as we can. I was
- 7:04Speaker 1: a producer for a long time in Chicago and other
- 7:07Speaker 1: places in radio, and I remember when you would hear
- 7:10Speaker 1: a segment where someone would take a shot at you. Actually,
- 7:13Speaker 1: you know, I'll say this on the air, and I shouldn't,
- 7:15Speaker 1: but I don't care. There's a very famous guy who
- 7:18Speaker 1: for a very long time I worked in Chicago radio.
- 7:21Speaker 1: His name is Milt Rosenberg. He did a late night,
- 7:23Speaker 1: very cerebral, very you know, intelligent show, really really smart,
- 7:28Speaker 1: great dude, and I would produce for him just one
- 7:30Speaker 1: day a week on Sunday night for the show that
- 7:32Speaker 1: he did there. And one day I came in and
- 7:34Speaker 1: the other producer who worked during the week, who booked
- 7:37Speaker 1: all the guests, did not tell me we had a
- 7:39Speaker 1: guest booked, and his show always had a guest book
- 7:41Speaker 1: So I came in and Milt looked at me and
- 7:43Speaker 1: he goes, hey, who's our guest for tonight? And I
- 7:45Speaker 1: looked at him and I said, I didn't know, and
- 7:47Speaker 1: Milt Rosenberg looked me in the face as a twenty
- 7:49Speaker 1: something producer guy and told me to go bleep myself
- 7:53Speaker 1: and then walked out of the room. It was It
- 7:55Speaker 1: was amazing. It was one of the most incredible things
- 7:58Speaker 1: that happened to me in my life because I'm like,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I didn't even know you spoke like that, sir, And
- 8:02Speaker 1: he just walked out, and I was like, all right,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna take this one on the chin. That's the
- 8:06Speaker 1: producer job. You take stuff on the chin. You shouldn't
- 8:08Speaker 1: take on the chin. Yeah, we're the front guess, yes,
- 8:11Speaker 1: all the time, on the front line. And I to
- 8:13Speaker 1: this day will favorably remember the moment that Milt Rosenberg
- 8:16Speaker 1: told me to go bleat myself because of another producer
- 8:19Speaker 1: named Trey who's thrown me. Wasn't my fault at all,
- 8:22Speaker 1: but all right now, this just became a cathartic thing
- 8:24Speaker 1: for me. Thank you guys both you're listening, this is
- 8:28Speaker 1: a fun topic. You want to do traffic to get
- 8:30Speaker 1: us out of this?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Ah?
- 8:31Speaker 4: Sure, why not?
- 8:31Speaker 6: I meaning with Hammer and Nigel.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Sorry, go ahead,
