- 2:09Speaker 1: episode of Racing with the Boys. We have two very
- 2:12Speaker 1: special guests, probably our youngest professionals we've ever had on
- 2:16Speaker 1: the bus. We have had college college athletes song when
- 2:19Speaker 1: we did the spring tour, but as far as like
- 2:21Speaker 1: professional sports, these two might be the youngest here. We
- 2:24Speaker 1: got Connor Zilich and we also have Jesse.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Love.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Everybody give a round of applause for the boys and Connor.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You're a you're a rookie, right technically right like in
- 2:38Speaker 1: the Cup Series, you're a rookie. Jesse, you're you're still
- 2:41Speaker 1: with the in the O'Reilly series. Correct filmerly known as
- 2:44Speaker 1: Exfinity formerly known as Infinity beat Connor's ass in the
- 2:47Speaker 1: championship last year.
- 2:49Speaker 2: People said that people were we were reading comments and
- 2:51Speaker 2: they're like, yeah, that one toy heep, Jesse beat Connor's ass.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And so we're just the messengers in that such one weekend.
- 2:56Speaker 2: One weekend, isn't that crazy because you were what forty
- 2:59Speaker 2: three points behind going into.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Well it's facally there's a point reset before the last round.
- 3:04Speaker 4: It's like, so.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You won regular season, Yeah, Connor won regular season to
- 3:10Speaker 2: get in the playoffs. This kid's the one seed. Everyone'
- 3:12Speaker 2: shooting and holler and and Jesse's just in the shadows
- 3:15Speaker 2: man training.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Or Connor in your mind when Jesse won, are you
- 3:21Speaker 1: like it's bullshit that he gets the championship knowing that
- 3:24Speaker 1: you won ten races. Here's here's the can I break
- 3:26Speaker 1: it down on my brain?
- 3:27Speaker 2: Break that down.
- 3:28Speaker 1: We're on Mario Kart in sixty four. We're doing the
- 3:30Speaker 1: Mushroom Cup. You win Luigi's Raceway, you win Mumbou Track,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you win What's the Beach, and then you go into
- 3:38Speaker 1: the desert on the final race. You won the first
- 3:40Speaker 1: three and then Jesse comes in wins the finally in
- 3:43Speaker 1: the desert. But you would still win technically the entire
- 3:46Speaker 1: Mushroom Cup because you won the first three races, but.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I didn't, and I was salty, But I can't be
- 3:52Speaker 4: mad at the guy. He did nothing wrong.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Because you won ten races that year. How many did
- 3:57Speaker 1: you get, Jesse? Uh?
- 3:59Speaker 3: If I got an acute to one of them, I
- 4:01Speaker 3: got three trophy.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So then when you're in the final championship, yeah, Jesse
- 4:06Speaker 1: takes it home. Yeah, Jesse? Are you kind of giving
- 4:09Speaker 1: him a little smile, smirking a side eye, like you
- 4:11Speaker 1: you want to touch it? You want to touch No, I.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Mean, I think at the end of the day he
- 4:15Speaker 3: was He asked me, are you mad at me? So
- 4:20Speaker 3: here's the deal, right, we didn't think this through. We
- 4:23Speaker 3: shared an airbnb that week, not thinking like.
- 4:26Speaker 4: For the because we all have to stay in Phoenix
- 4:29Speaker 4: for the champ for the banquet, like, and we were like, oh,
- 4:32Speaker 4: we'll just share it.
- 4:32Speaker 3: You guys are boys, good friends, realizing like one of
- 4:36Speaker 3: us is going home salty, right, So I think that
- 4:39Speaker 3: for me, I was obviously, you know, so pumped, but
- 4:42Speaker 3: you know, I still, as a friend, can imagine what
- 4:44Speaker 3: was going through Connor's mind, right, So I felt for
- 4:46Speaker 3: him even though I was, you know, pumped up for myself.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But yeah, we got back to the airbnb the next day.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I was like, are you mad at me? He was
- 4:54Speaker 3: like no. I was like, do you want to talk
- 4:56Speaker 3: about it? He was like nope, he said, you down
- 5:00Speaker 3: the living room? All right, Yeah, that's fine. Well I
- 5:03Speaker 3: was in the bedroom my girlfriend getting ready to you know,
- 5:06Speaker 3: go out somewhere with Connor. He walks in. I hear
- 5:08Speaker 3: the door open up, and I'm like, oh shit, right,
- 5:10Speaker 3: so you know, I walk into his room and that's
- 5:12Speaker 3: my ass him that He was like, all right, so
- 5:14Speaker 3: let me put to rest. And honestly, I haven't really
- 5:16Speaker 3: talked about it, you know, unless we're a setting like this, so.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Kind of knowing that you were a little salty? What
- 5:21Speaker 1: made what was? What was? Where was the saltiness coming from?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Knowing that you want in? And you're like, God, damn it,
- 5:26Speaker 1: why couldn't I just wa?
- 5:27Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 5:27Speaker 4: I mean it was just like all this work I
- 5:29Speaker 4: did all year long it was for nothing, because I
- 5:31Speaker 4: mean I won all these races and we had such
- 5:33Speaker 4: a good year, and I don't know, I just wasn't
- 5:36Speaker 4: clutch enough.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Just two boys, right, it's the ones closest to you,
- 5:39Speaker 2: that's stabby right the last second. Did anything happen in
- 5:42Speaker 2: this race that you're like this motherfucker?
- 5:45Speaker 4: No, it wasn't like I was just he was faster.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I mean he passed me. I don't know. It was
- 5:48Speaker 4: like thirty laps ago. I was leading and he passed
- 5:50Speaker 4: me and I couldn't do anything about it. I was
- 5:52Speaker 4: just slower and that was it. That was it. His
- 5:56Speaker 4: crew chief brought him a cheater car for that weekend.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Really, so it's really crew tree for were you aware
- 6:02Speaker 2: he was cheating? Were you aware of the cheating car?
- 6:04Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I mean, Jesse, when you are passing him, are you
- 6:13Speaker 1: like you know, is there is there anything in your guys?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Is like friendship relationship where you're passing you kind of
- 6:18Speaker 1: got a little grin on your face.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Bubba and Blaaney will do like a little little.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean we always for some reason would start
- 6:27Speaker 4: races next to each other, and we would always just
- 6:29Speaker 4: like I mean, you can only do it out the
- 6:31Speaker 4: driver window, but we'd always flip each other off, like
- 6:34Speaker 4: out the window.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Yeah, just before the.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Start, just after you win the championship, you you hoyst
- 6:40Speaker 2: the cup. How long did it take for to sit
- 6:44Speaker 2: in your head that your boy might may or may
- 6:45Speaker 2: not be mad at you, which I think we're finding
- 6:46Speaker 2: out The answer was yes.
- 6:48Speaker 3: But at the moment, I mean, you know, props to Connor,
- 6:51Speaker 3: he had the courage of being a friend that like
- 6:53Speaker 3: walk up to me in Victory Lane like that night,
- 6:56Speaker 3: and you know, he was still happy for me as
- 6:58Speaker 3: much as he was hurting, right, So, like I knew
- 7:00Speaker 3: from the second that I saw him, like, you know,
- 7:02Speaker 3: he was hurting, but he was still happy for me.
- 7:05Speaker 3: But I still knew, Like I didn't want to talk
- 7:07Speaker 3: to him about it, really, I don't want to, you know, poke.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I walked, I walked up on the stage and like
- 7:11Speaker 4: his whole family's there and his whole team's there, and
- 7:14Speaker 4: like I was just going to say, like, good job, Jesse.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I was like I just got done crying, Like I
- 7:17Speaker 4: was all beat up, and like.
- 7:19Speaker 5: His whole team was like, oh my god, we won
- 7:21Speaker 5: to me.
- 7:22Speaker 4: And I was like, like they're trying to celebrate with me,
- 7:24Speaker 4: and I was like, I'm not here to celebrate, guys.
- 7:27Speaker 5: I'm just here to say good job and get out.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, shake your hand and get that good p R.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Make sure someone gets a nice photo.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Make sure the camera was a picture.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta have that. What is just let me
- 7:39Speaker 2: end that love story you guys, how did you guys
- 7:40Speaker 2: become friends? How'd your meet dude? When's the first time
- 7:42Speaker 2: you guys knew that this is the one, Like.
- 7:44Speaker 1: He's the one I want to split an Airbnb with you.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they're sitting there. Maybe they run across. Sure, there's
- 7:49Speaker 2: a lunch. We're dating somebody other.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Somebody said, this is my story. So we I was
- 7:53Speaker 3: on the go kart track. I was racing for Toyota
- 7:56Speaker 3: at the time, and we go to this there's this carte. Yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 3: this is cart track by our house and we trained there, right,
- 8:02Speaker 3: and they brought Connor and you.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Were thirteen four to fourteen, Yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 3: And he was like there to like coach me, and
- 8:09Speaker 3: like other I mean I think Christopher Bell was there,
- 8:11Speaker 3: Corey Heim was there, other good guys.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Because that's what I grew up doing. I grew up
- 8:16Speaker 4: racing go karts and like all these guys grow up
- 8:17Speaker 4: racing dirt and ogles and like that was kind of
- 8:20Speaker 4: where I came from. So I would do it for
- 8:21Speaker 4: fun and just like coach all these guys because I
- 8:23Speaker 4: thought it was cool.
- 8:24Speaker 3: So they bring him to coach us, and I was like, no, like,
- 8:27Speaker 3: this kid is not coaching me. I was fresh out
- 8:29Speaker 3: of California, like hug Go, like you know, didn't have
- 8:32Speaker 3: a growth mindset, and I was like, this kid is
- 8:33Speaker 3: not coaching me. And I hated him for like the
- 8:35Speaker 3: first you know, thirty minutes, and then saw him drive
- 8:38Speaker 3: and I could not believe, like what a actual like
- 8:41Speaker 3: world champion go Carter looks like. It was a whole
- 8:44Speaker 3: different level compared to what me and Christopher and Corey
- 8:47Speaker 3: Heim are doing. And from that point I was like, man,
- 8:49Speaker 3: this kid's pretty good. And then you know, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 3: Chime showed like we listened to the same music. We do
- 8:54Speaker 3: the same things for fun. We had the same sense
- 8:56Speaker 3: of humor. And then from that point on, like we
- 8:58Speaker 3: just kind of got along well. But at first I
- 9:00Speaker 3: was like pretty turned off by the idea of him
- 9:02Speaker 3: because it was like Toya brought this with the way
- 9:04Speaker 3: younger kid into like coach us, like made no sense.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And how old were you, Connor?
- 9:09Speaker 4: I was like fourteen and you were I'm three years
- 9:12Speaker 4: more than you. No, you're only like a year and
- 9:13Speaker 4: a half.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Yeah, got a got a younger cat coming in to
- 9:17Speaker 1: coach you up.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, go carts too, that's.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, if you don't realize, like the the kids
- 9:25Speaker 3: that grew up racing go carts are so good, like
- 9:28Speaker 3: that is it's a whole different world.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You know.
- 9:31Speaker 3: You can grow up racing dirt, you can grow up
- 9:32Speaker 3: racing quarter midgets and things like that. But the kids
- 9:36Speaker 3: that come from racing go karts, I mean from a
- 9:39Speaker 3: from a ten years old age, like, they're on a
- 9:41Speaker 3: whole different level of especially road racing.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Can you pull up what was that road midget? Would
- 9:46Speaker 2: you call it quarter midget?
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah, there's quarter midgets.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Let me take a peek of one of those.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I never because you know what a go kart looks
- 9:53Speaker 3: like but don't look up Zilli's quarter, misgeon, I never
- 9:55Speaker 3: raced on. Just delete Zillich and Connor. Yeah that's what
- 9:59Speaker 3: a quarter. That's what I race.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Well that thing is sick.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Oh okay, but you're wide open, you're never lifting, so
- 10:04Speaker 3: there's really no technique involved, honestly.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Oh really these are this is your basic level car? Yeah?
- 10:10Speaker 4: Like like six year olds, because I did.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I messed around with those yearf dogs.
- 10:13Speaker 4: When I was younger, erf dogs.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Oh you've never.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Seen a yourth dog gokark? Dude, got it for like
- 10:17Speaker 2: my twelfth birthday type in your dog dog speltsive a
- 10:21Speaker 2: go kart. I think that's what it's called. Had it
- 10:23Speaker 2: for three days, broke it Yeah good, just.
- 10:26Speaker 4: GOODY tell you right there I did.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I was racing out in Arizona doing that whole thing. Yeah,
- 10:33Speaker 2: skimmed up money pretty bad. I was over after that.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Jesse, what what What goes into the move to come
- 10:38Speaker 1: out to go out East at fifteen years old?
- 10:42Speaker 3: So I signed a contract with Toyota probably when I
- 10:45Speaker 3: was like thirteen, but we resigned when I was like fifteen,
- 10:48Speaker 3: and in my contract when I was fifteen said, I,
- 10:50Speaker 3: you know, I gotta be at the shop. I gotta
- 10:52Speaker 3: be at the SIM and basically, without saying it, it said,
- 10:54Speaker 3: I have to live out in North Carolina. So my
- 10:57Speaker 3: family's you know, my mom and my dad alder business.
- 11:00Speaker 3: My mom like hires and attorneys at a law firm.
- 11:03Speaker 3: My dad has some real estate in California. We couldn't
- 11:05Speaker 3: they couldn't leave. So I had to move out by
- 11:08Speaker 3: myself when I was you know, when I was fifteen
- 11:10Speaker 3: and got an apartment near the gym, near the SIM.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And for the first six months, I would like uber
- 11:15Speaker 3: ride my bike and then are.
- 11:17Speaker 1: You living by yourself?
- 11:18Speaker 3: I had my dad's like kind of you know, right
- 11:21Speaker 3: hand man. One of my best friends, Dustin Edge, who
- 11:24Speaker 3: like was there. He was there to make sure I was,
- 11:27Speaker 3: you know okay.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean you're a fifteen year old living out.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It was basically loving my friend.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You know, how does that work with like school and stuff.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I did online.
- 11:36Speaker 4: We don't do that.
- 11:37Speaker 1: We don't do that.
- 11:38Speaker 3: I did online high school, yeah, but I went to
- 11:40Speaker 3: like public school in middle school and everything else.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Boys dialed in in your mind, you know, like racing
- 11:50Speaker 2: is always was always the goal.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I think when I since I was ten, I
- 11:54Speaker 3: try to you know, become a professional in it. And
- 11:56Speaker 3: I've always had one goal, right to be a Cup
- 11:59Speaker 3: Series driver. So I mean, why would if you want
- 12:01Speaker 3: to play guitar, yougo in Nashville, right, if you want
- 12:03Speaker 3: to race, you go to you go to North Carolina.
- 12:05Speaker 3: My dad didn't want me to be eighteen making my
- 12:08Speaker 3: first step to like the big leagues like truck It's
- 12:10Speaker 3: Finny or Cup and also be learning how to like
- 12:14Speaker 3: move out and be on your own and like not
- 12:16Speaker 3: have your support system. So honestly, even though the first
- 12:19Speaker 3: you know, year and a half was I mean terrible
- 12:22Speaker 3: from a from a person standpoint of like being alone
- 12:25Speaker 3: for the first time, I mean it set me up
- 12:27Speaker 3: for success when I was you know how old I
- 12:30Speaker 3: am now?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah, how was the decision? Like how quickly a decision
- 12:34Speaker 2: was it made? Yourself? About sitting next to a similar
- 12:36Speaker 2: I need to be end of Caroline, You're like, oh,
- 12:37Speaker 2: that's basically what I have to do. Like who what
- 12:40Speaker 2: was it you that was like I need to go
- 12:41Speaker 2: and do this or was it your parents kind of
- 12:43Speaker 2: like pushing you towards that?
- 12:44Speaker 3: No, you put yourself in my shoes if you can
- 12:46Speaker 3: move out at fifteen and be on your own and
- 12:47Speaker 3: like go out to North Carolina and do whatever you want.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Of course you're gonna do it right away. Like I
- 12:51Speaker 3: wanted to do it from the second I read the contract.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I was like, absolutely, get me out there. But my
- 12:55Speaker 3: mom and my dad were you know, it was more
- 12:57Speaker 3: of a decision on their part. My dad knew that's
- 13:00Speaker 3: what I had to do. My my mom, though, was
- 13:03Speaker 3: you know, took some convincing.
- 13:04Speaker 1: So you never had any fear of being like, I'm
- 13:06Speaker 1: gonna move to the other side of the country.
- 13:07Speaker 3: You don't know, you don't know, so I didn't know
- 13:08Speaker 3: what that meant, like even like doing your own laundry
- 13:12Speaker 3: and like, you know, having to make your own food,
- 13:14Speaker 3: like super small things like that that you know, mean
- 13:17Speaker 3: nothing when you're you know, twenty five thirty years old.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Now when you're like having to do it for your
- 13:22Speaker 3: first time by yourself, and like you don't have your
- 13:24Speaker 3: family there to like take care of you and to
- 13:27Speaker 3: talk to you at the end of the day and
- 13:29Speaker 3: all that stuff. Like there's so many tiny little things
- 13:31Speaker 3: that make moving out when you're fifteen like really hard.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You know.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I got some friends now or back then when I
- 13:37Speaker 3: was fifteen, that I couldn't imagine them being by themselves.
- 13:40Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about, right, Like, I mean.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You're basically talking about me. Like if I was fifteen,
- 13:45Speaker 2: like like I'm gonna die out here, I would die.
- 13:48Speaker 2: I wouldn't know it, but.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I think I would be homesick fairly often. In that
- 13:53Speaker 1: first year, it was it was really hard for you.
- 13:54Speaker 1: You guys meant the first year.
- 13:56Speaker 4: No, No, it was a few years later, like you
- 13:58Speaker 4: probably moved out what.
- 14:00Speaker 3: So probably I was probably seventeen. I met you probably
- 14:02Speaker 3: two years in. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was really.
- 14:05Speaker 5: I thought it was so cool.
- 14:06Speaker 4: I was like, damn, I got a friend with his
- 14:07Speaker 4: own house. I know where I'm going.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, this is an easy little deal. At any point,
- 14:12Speaker 2: did you ever think like I need to go back
- 14:14Speaker 2: to California or was it always like I'm homesick. I
- 14:16Speaker 2: don't like this, but I know it's for the best.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I had a couple patches because racing wasn't going that
- 14:21Speaker 3: well for me at the time too. I was struggling
- 14:23Speaker 3: pretty bad, so like I had really nothing working for me,
- 14:27Speaker 3: and it was really really challenging, and yeah, I just
- 14:30Speaker 3: I always felt like, hey, I can you know, if
- 14:33Speaker 3: I just don't give up, right, Like, maybe I can
- 14:35Speaker 3: make it all work out and pan out and just
- 14:38Speaker 3: you know, and endure the suck for a little bit.
- 14:41Speaker 3: And then probably when I was eighteen, and honestly, once
- 14:43Speaker 3: I met a good friend group, right, I met Connor,
- 14:44Speaker 3: I met my friend Brent Cruz. Once I met guys
- 14:47Speaker 3: like that, my life, you know, kind of turned back around.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And that's when I won the championship in twenty twenty
- 14:53Speaker 3: three with ARCA. That's when things started to click for me.
- 14:56Speaker 2: What was it like the first time you met Dale Junior?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Because your race for him now correct and both both
- 15:02Speaker 1: of you guys j R n.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Last year, Yeah, I raced for Richard Shoulders.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Racing got you. That's on me. Hey, hand up, that's
- 15:14Speaker 2: the reason.
- 15:14Speaker 1: The process.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It's a beautiful thing, Dale Junior, Well, let me let
- 15:21Speaker 2: me read that. Connor. Was it like me and Dale
- 15:23Speaker 2: Learner for the first time? Dude?
- 15:24Speaker 4: It was sick? He's I mean just I was so
- 15:27Speaker 4: nervous the first time, like I actually met and talked
- 15:30Speaker 4: to him, like I was kind of starstruck. And then
- 15:33Speaker 4: as like I've gotten to know him and you know,
- 15:34Speaker 4: work with him. That race was in Pocono. Last year,
- 15:39Speaker 4: my crew chief got uh my crew chief got suspended
- 15:42Speaker 4: for a race. We had too many lug nuts loose
- 15:44Speaker 4: the race before you get suspended. And Dale was actual.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Dale stepped in and was my crew chief for the race.
- 15:51Speaker 4: And that race was really cool. But just like now
- 15:54Speaker 4: knowing him as a like, I don't know, he's just
- 15:57Speaker 4: a friend and and you know, I was on his
- 15:59Speaker 4: podcast this morning and I don't know it was it
- 16:01Speaker 4: was different at first because I looked up to him
- 16:03Speaker 4: and was like starstruck. And now I see him as
- 16:06Speaker 4: like a buddy of mine, and he's just like a
- 16:08Speaker 4: he's just a good dude.
- 16:09Speaker 1: He's got that ability and and party. You two, when
- 16:11Speaker 1: you're getting to know him, you're like, you don't I
- 16:14Speaker 1: don't know if he realizes he's Dale earn Hard Junior.
- 16:16Speaker 4: No, he doesn't.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Famous guys don't realize they're famous. You don't know, like
- 16:20Speaker 2: how much pool you actually have.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Yeah, in the community.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Part about Dale's like he's just if you'd met him
- 16:25Speaker 4: and talked to him, you would never know he was
- 16:27Speaker 4: somebody like Yeah, he's just a down to earth good dude.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You ever get the invite to play college football against I.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Did, dude, I got invited to the Dynasty. I just
- 16:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna do it when the when what is it?
- 16:38Speaker 4: Twenty seven comes out?
- 16:39Speaker 1: I think Dale quit though, I think he quit the
- 16:41Speaker 1: Dynasty League.
- 16:42Speaker 2: He quit his team where we saw him at Nashville
- 16:44Speaker 2: and he was, uh, he was bitching and complain about
- 16:46Speaker 2: his boys.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Because the league got mad at him because of how
- 16:48Speaker 1: much he does he FA.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Yeah, we played two K my bus every week, really
- 16:55Speaker 4: cook it every time.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Last week was a brutal, dude, brutal.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I went twelve.
- 17:01Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I was.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I was playing two K University, trying to like learn everything.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Like the tutorials on two KH we could.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Learn like everything at Eurosteps and like and like the
- 17:12Speaker 3: triple thread they call it and stuff. And then I
- 17:14Speaker 3: went to actually play and like put it to good
- 17:17Speaker 3: use and like confusing. I was so bad.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I did the two K games, the two K,
- 17:24Speaker 2: two K n c A like I've never been good
- 17:26Speaker 2: at those. But like you brought a Mario card earlier,
- 17:28Speaker 2: like N sixty four, do.
- 17:29Speaker 4: You play Mario Kart?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Dude?
- 17:31Speaker 4: Bro, I me and my crew guys, so we fly
- 17:33Speaker 4: on these team planes every weekend. They don't have Wi Fi.
- 17:36Speaker 4: So all my me and my entire team, there's nine
- 17:38Speaker 4: of us, and we all have switches and we just
- 17:41Speaker 4: every plane ride, we just sit. We all sit in
- 17:43Speaker 4: the back of the plane and we play Mario Kart
- 17:44Speaker 4: on the switches all the way to and from the
- 17:46Speaker 4: track because we have no signal.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Of course you do.
- 17:49Speaker 5: It's so key.
- 17:50Speaker 2: It kind of paces me off because like, I need
- 17:52Speaker 2: you guys to go through getting in N sixty four
- 17:54Speaker 2: and realizing the game is not working and boring the
- 17:56Speaker 2: cartridge need four is talking about this is the greatest
- 18:02Speaker 2: video game come so you'll ever see it. You've never
- 18:04Speaker 2: seen that. My gosh, No, buddy, Hey, let me put
- 18:08Speaker 2: you on a little game here, dude, I'd have to
- 18:10Speaker 2: be from me if you were my TV, like you're
- 18:12Speaker 2: the distance, Like that's as far as you get. There
- 18:14Speaker 2: are cords, chords involved. I'd have to go and push
- 18:17Speaker 2: it in that one on the right there, James Bond.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That one's a different ball game right there.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And she doesn't just get saved. Yeah, you had to
- 18:24Speaker 1: have memory cards back, bro, you.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Had to put ticket and you had to plug it
- 18:27Speaker 2: into the back.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Actually, now I know what you're talking about, and then
- 18:30Speaker 3: sixty four to play Golden Eye. I think that's the goal.
- 18:33Speaker 2: That last photo. It's also in the second road right there,
- 18:37Speaker 2: double seven, all the way to left, all that one
- 18:40Speaker 2: right there. Yeah, that game right there. That will ruin friendships.
- 18:44Speaker 2: That one, that one right there, it'll room and it's dude,
- 18:47Speaker 2: it's the best game because you're just running and it's
- 18:48Speaker 2: from the point of view of the guy, and a
- 18:50Speaker 2: guy will come near you and it'll just aim for
- 18:52Speaker 2: you and espacically like who can just pull the trick.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Time? Oh yeah yeah, People like, oh, your your gene,
- 18:59Speaker 1: your screen look at it. It's like, no, I'm not,
- 19:00Speaker 1: but it's all on one screen.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I have to.
- 19:03Speaker 2: You have to get it done, like I messed with more.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Like this is where you guys need to get You
- 19:08Speaker 2: got to get back into this. Have you got to
- 19:10Speaker 2: start this time? Yeah, step back in time a little bit.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But this is how they going to do it.
- 19:14Speaker 2: On the plane, dude, they have team planes. Get on
- 19:17Speaker 2: their TV, have a little USB team planes.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Ain't let what you what you think there.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I'm thinking about some immaculate ship.
- 19:23Speaker 4: You're thinking an NFL team plane.
- 19:25Speaker 2: We're thinking NASCAR, our NFL team planes are just like
- 19:28Speaker 2: a United flight that they just like, hey, can we
- 19:29Speaker 2: borrow this?
- 19:30Speaker 4: That's nice? And then what we got, what you all got?
- 19:32Speaker 4: We like we have like old challenge, you know, like
- 19:35Speaker 4: the little little uh Embryer jets that they fly like regional.
- 19:39Speaker 4: They go like two hours out of commercial airports.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Pull pull up one of those jets.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Just like an embryer. You there, No, it ain't that nice.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Man.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Listen, let me.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Nineteen ninety five.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like nineteen ninety five, Connor, how old are you?
- 20:01Speaker 4: I'm nineteen nineteen, Jesse, how old are you?
- 20:03Speaker 3: Twenty one?
- 20:04Speaker 2: Okay, so guys nineteen and twenty one.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Right, that's over.
- 20:07Speaker 2: You guys are flying on planes weekend and week out
- 20:09Speaker 2: to go to races.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I ain't complaining.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Is that what you're flying on right now? You guys
- 20:19Speaker 2: going to World War two wars?
- 20:20Speaker 4: Right now?
- 20:22Speaker 2: That thing is sick.
- 20:24Speaker 4: That ain't that bad even nice?
- 20:27Speaker 2: But I will say I understand the Switch game. Now,
- 20:29Speaker 2: I understand the switch. One last thing on the tennis
- 20:32Speaker 2: is four. I would definitely get that and then play
- 20:35Speaker 2: Super Smash Brothers. That is the greatest game of all time, dude,
- 20:39Speaker 2: because it's all one map. You don't have a screen peak, nothing,
- 20:41Speaker 2: and you guys just get after it.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Very different Jamie on the Rogan podcast that always pulls
- 20:46Speaker 3: up the.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Second week in a road. You've gotten that reference. Connor,
- 20:51Speaker 2: you were talking about your crew chief. He gets suspended
- 20:54Speaker 2: for loose lug nuts. Dale had to go and take
- 20:56Speaker 2: over as your crew chief, Like, what's wrong with loose lugnuts?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Is there something wrong?
- 21:01Speaker 4: So no, it doesn't. It's just unsafe, like unsafe. So
- 21:05Speaker 4: it's a safety thing. So like it can make the
- 21:07Speaker 4: pit stops faster because in O'Reilly you have five lug
- 21:09Speaker 4: nuts and the tire changers. If you only hit three,
- 21:12Speaker 4: your pit stops can be faster. So you can hit
- 21:15Speaker 4: three and and you know, as long as there there's
- 21:17Speaker 4: three on it, it'll be safe. If you have two,
- 21:19Speaker 4: you're probably not gonna make it. But three is faster
- 21:22Speaker 4: than five for the crew, for the picker guys. So
- 21:26Speaker 4: but we all fall off and that's when yeah, yeah,
- 21:30Speaker 4: so they it's it's a safety thing. And just like
- 21:32Speaker 4: repercussion for you know, it's not the crew chief's fault
- 21:35Speaker 4: that there were lugnuts loose, but they they just make
- 21:37Speaker 4: the penalty big so that people don't do it. But yeah,
- 21:41Speaker 4: but yeah, we were we were trying to figure out
- 21:43Speaker 4: who's gonna crew chief the thing, and and my crew
- 21:45Speaker 4: chief was at the track, but he was just like
- 21:47Speaker 4: in the uh Chevy hauler, like on the radio, watching
- 21:52Speaker 4: one hundred feet away. But Dale was the one that
- 21:55Speaker 4: was on the pit box and was talking to me
- 21:57Speaker 4: on the radio. So it was, uh, it was cool.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I mean, it's pretty fun when you have Dale in
- 22:01Speaker 4: your ear, like telling you what to do and giving
- 22:03Speaker 4: you advice.
- 22:04Speaker 1: His calm voice, yeah, dude's.
- 22:06Speaker 4: And I was racing for him in Pocono this weekend
- 22:08Speaker 4: in the Arri series and he hopped on my radio.
- 22:10Speaker 4: I was like, hey, man, how's it going.
- 22:14Speaker 5: It's just like, oh, hey Dale.
- 22:16Speaker 4: And it was like right after I would I had
- 22:18Speaker 4: just gotten done like crying about how bad the car was,
- 22:21Speaker 4: and I was like, hope we didn't hear me there
- 22:24Speaker 4: five minutes ago.
- 22:24Speaker 5: He's like, man, you're out giving me.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I'll heard you.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we heard every for you guys, being as young
- 22:30Speaker 1: as you are, because I feel like you're doing exactly
- 22:32Speaker 1: how i'd be doing it, Like you're putting all your
- 22:35Speaker 1: time and energy into your craft into racing. Then when
- 22:37Speaker 1: you get free time, it's going it's playing twelve games
- 22:40Speaker 1: over the weekend and going twelve and oh or oho
- 22:42Speaker 1: and twelve. But for you guys, when does it start
- 22:45Speaker 1: to click in your head that it's not a dream anymore.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It's more of a career now.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I the thing like I look at it like it'll
- 22:53Speaker 4: never be a job to me, Like I don't know.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I'm sure you guys felt the same way playing football.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I mean, it's a lot of work, but like there's
- 23:00Speaker 4: so many people that so many kids in the grandstands,
- 23:03Speaker 4: so many kids that would be so willing to switch
- 23:05Speaker 4: spots with me. And every time I like start to
- 23:07Speaker 4: be like, man, why am I doing this? Like I
- 23:09Speaker 4: hate this. We're running like shit every week, And then
- 23:11Speaker 4: I'm like, man, there's so many people that would switch
- 23:13Speaker 4: spots with me right now. And that's kind of what
- 23:15Speaker 4: motivates me. And it's like I'll never work a day
- 23:17Speaker 4: in my life if I do this stuff because I
- 23:19Speaker 4: love it so much and I have so much fun
- 23:21Speaker 4: doing it, but it's it's a stressful life, like any
- 23:25Speaker 4: pro sport. Like people don't fans, people don't realize how
- 23:30Speaker 4: cutthroat and stressful it is, but the reward of doing
- 23:35Speaker 4: well and winning is it makes up for it that.
- 23:38Speaker 3: How about for you Jesse, Yeah, I think Connor said
- 23:41Speaker 3: it perfectly man in the day, like like he said,
- 23:43Speaker 3: like we're not getting paid to drive cars, right, We're
- 23:45Speaker 3: getting paid for like all the other stuff that comes
- 23:47Speaker 3: along with it, with the lifestyle of it. But you know,
- 23:51Speaker 3: I think for me as well, I mean Connor again
- 23:53Speaker 3: put up perfectly, but there's nothing the work that goes
- 23:56Speaker 3: into it. Like I think we all enjoy it as well,
- 23:59Speaker 3: even you know, when you have so much motivation of
- 24:02Speaker 3: like why you're doing this, right, Like I think we
- 24:03Speaker 3: all want to be, you know, great or be one
- 24:06Speaker 3: of the greats. And maybe that's the separator, but I
- 24:08Speaker 3: think that you know, when you have that motivation of
- 24:10Speaker 3: you know, wanting to be great, that the pre race
- 24:14Speaker 3: meetings of post race meeting is a some time. The
- 24:16Speaker 3: work you put into it, the training that goes into it,
- 24:19Speaker 3: it's just like any other athlete, right. It's just like
- 24:21Speaker 3: for you guys, just like friend of you guy playing
- 24:23Speaker 3: pro ball, Like we're all motivated to be great, right,
- 24:26Speaker 3: So that's where it doesn't feel like work. You know
- 24:29Speaker 3: what I mean, work is you know, sitting in front
- 24:31Speaker 3: of a computer at a desk job, right, you know,
- 24:33Speaker 3: I think what we're doing is we're is we're trying
- 24:35Speaker 3: to get better and there's a lot of I guess
- 24:37Speaker 3: fulfillment that comes with that.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really well said, because you when you were
- 24:41Speaker 2: talking about like, yeah, I'm sure you guys felt the
- 24:43Speaker 2: same way, like there are. I mean, I think towards
- 24:45Speaker 2: the end of your career you kind of, at least
- 24:47Speaker 2: for me, I like lost a little bit of that
- 24:49Speaker 2: where you're like it did feel like more like a job.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Your body hurts a little bit more and you're like
- 24:53Speaker 2: kind of like not realizing you're not smelling the flowers
- 24:55Speaker 2: as much as you should. Yeah, but like when you're
- 24:57Speaker 2: first in it, it's like, yeah, it's it's the greatest
- 24:59Speaker 2: thing in the world. Then you have like gave you
- 25:00Speaker 2: gain perspective as you get older too, and you're away
- 25:02Speaker 2: from the game and you're like, oh, that was actually
- 25:05Speaker 2: never a job at all.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It was way into like an our with the playing football.
- 25:10Speaker 1: It's like when you see guys getting cut and everything else,
- 25:13Speaker 1: it's like you guys are still I mean, how you
- 25:16Speaker 1: said nineteen and twenty one. It's like when we're coming
- 25:18Speaker 1: to the league. I was twenty three. You might have
- 25:20Speaker 1: been twenty two.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Oh you draft I was twenty one, twenty one years
- 25:23Speaker 2: twenty two.
- 25:23Speaker 1: But like as you get in for a couple of
- 25:25Speaker 1: years and you're seeing vets and just the responsibility of
- 25:28Speaker 1: having to have like a this is my career. I
- 25:31Speaker 1: need to treat it as such. With the work habits,
- 25:33Speaker 1: the routines and everything else. There's like a there's like
- 25:35Speaker 1: a growing up you have to do in some areas
- 25:38Speaker 1: to where it's like the dream part. You just realize
- 25:41Speaker 1: the dream can be over tomorrow if you take it
- 25:44Speaker 1: too lightly. Yeah, you know what I mean, Like if
- 25:46Speaker 1: you're having too much fun about it or to lax
- 25:48Speaker 1: about it, like you're not taking it serious enough, and
- 25:50Speaker 1: then you do get caught to where you're like an
- 25:52Speaker 1: air repeater and the next thing you know, those guys
- 25:54Speaker 1: are gone, so you have to kind of you know,
- 25:57Speaker 1: you're you're still having fun do it, yeah, but they're there.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Is like an anxiety that takes over because you're trying
- 26:03Speaker 1: to not only survive but thrive at your position.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yeah, because you guys are in the contracts correct.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Like contrast, it's the same as the NFL. You get
- 26:10Speaker 4: two three years.
- 26:11Speaker 2: You guys, are they now? Are they fully guaranteed contracts?
- 26:14Speaker 2: Like that money is not going to go away?
- 26:16Speaker 4: Yeah most of the time, yes, yeah, yeah unless you
- 26:18Speaker 4: do something stupid.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Right, So if you have like if you sign a
- 26:20Speaker 2: three year contract, you have a tough year one, you're like,
- 26:22Speaker 2: I have two years. If you have a tough year too,
- 26:24Speaker 2: you have like, oh, I have next year to get
- 26:25Speaker 2: that done like for us, And when you're guarantee runs out,
- 26:29Speaker 2: it's like every year is a one year contract, and
- 26:31Speaker 2: if you get her or play bad or whatever, it's
- 26:34Speaker 2: just like he said, like you'll be you're done, you'll
- 26:35Speaker 2: be out of bro. It's there's there's a lot there's
- 26:38Speaker 2: a lot of parallels and there's also a lot of
- 26:40Speaker 2: differences too because there's fifty three guys, and I think
- 26:43Speaker 2: there's there's a lot more kids that grow up playing
- 26:45Speaker 2: football and the kids that go grow up racing. So
- 26:47Speaker 2: there's always the demand or the supply is there, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 2: what is what is what are the grueling parts of
- 26:54Speaker 2: your job that you're like, Okay, this is why they're
- 26:56Speaker 2: paying me. I think Deion Sanders might have said that,
- 26:58Speaker 2: like you pay me to practice, I'll put the game
- 27:00Speaker 2: for free. Was that what's in one of those legendary
- 27:02Speaker 2: players said that. I can't remember.
- 27:05Speaker 3: I remember Rodman said. I was watching the documentary the
- 27:07Speaker 3: other day. Ver Rodman say, we don't get paid to play.
- 27:10Speaker 3: We get paid for all the bullshit that goes along
- 27:12Speaker 3: with Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 27:14Speaker 2: What is it? What is some of the bullshit that
- 27:15Speaker 2: you're like, all right, this is where the grind is
- 27:17Speaker 2: and you have to do those things, do things you
- 27:19Speaker 2: hate like you love them.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Man, I don't feel like I hate any of it, honestly.
- 27:22Speaker 3: I mean, I think that Connor has a lot more
- 27:24Speaker 3: media stuff this year than I do, him being a
- 27:26Speaker 3: rookie in the Cup Series and everything. But I I
- 27:28Speaker 3: don't feel any sort of like, you know, annoyance with
- 27:33Speaker 3: with having the to do the work that comes along
- 27:35Speaker 3: with the job. Honestly. I like talking to the media,
- 27:38Speaker 3: like I like doing the media stuff. I like, you know,
- 27:39Speaker 3: sitting down like what he's in right there is called bullpen.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I enjoyed doing the bullpen. I enjoy going to you know,
- 27:45Speaker 3: certain appearances. There's some appearances right that are that can
- 27:48Speaker 3: be grueling, but even the sim work that goes along
- 27:51Speaker 3: with it. You know, we're in the sim you know,
- 27:53Speaker 3: a session the similar is about three and a half hours.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Usually have like one or two of those a week,
- 27:57Speaker 3: which that can be brutal too, But I've been able
- 28:00Speaker 3: to kind of flip it around, like I don't know where.
- 28:02Speaker 3: It just feels like I'm I'm getting better, right, like
- 28:05Speaker 3: I'm growing, and for me, that's where I find my fulfillment.
- 28:07Speaker 3: So I don't ever feel, honestly, any part of the
- 28:10Speaker 3: job is frustrating the worst part of it is when
- 28:13Speaker 3: you have a terrible race or something happens like we're
- 28:16Speaker 3: at walkins Gun this year and Connor passes me in
- 28:18Speaker 3: the last corner when was the race and the second
- 28:21Speaker 3: I got out of the car, there's one hundred cameras around, right,
- 28:23Speaker 3: and like, I'm still a person, Like I still got
- 28:26Speaker 3: to deal with, like I guess processing what just happened,
- 28:29Speaker 3: And you don't have time to do that, right. You
- 28:31Speaker 3: have to immediately represent your sponsors well, represent your team well,
- 28:35Speaker 3: represent yourself well, and all the people around you. And
- 28:38Speaker 3: that's probably the hardest part of it is is showing
- 28:41Speaker 3: up and having something like that happen and then immediately
- 28:44Speaker 3: having cameras in your face without being able to like
- 28:46Speaker 3: humanize yourself yet and process emotions.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because they have like rules in the NFL, where
- 28:51Speaker 2: like when games in let's say you play terrible or
- 28:53Speaker 2: something crazy happens, like you, there's a five to ten
- 28:55Speaker 2: minute buffer, so the play i'd be like, hey, they're
- 28:58Speaker 2: gonna come, They're probably gonna talk to you about this.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Be prepared for X, Y and Z. So getting out
- 29:02Speaker 2: of the car, if somebody passes you or it doesn't
- 29:04Speaker 2: go your way, it's got to be very difficult to
- 29:06Speaker 2: sit there and put in a face because then there's
- 29:08Speaker 2: the overthinking portion of Hey, if I like seem like
- 29:10Speaker 2: I'm too happy about it, I might taking my job
- 29:12Speaker 2: too serious and all that stuff that can kind of
- 29:14Speaker 2: weigh in the back of your head. Condor for you, like,
- 29:17Speaker 2: what's it like being a rookie in the Cup Series?
- 29:20Speaker 2: How is what? Yeah? I want to know from your
- 29:23Speaker 2: perspective about like these guys, these old dogs that I
- 29:27Speaker 2: kind of know the unwritten rules, and there's always this
- 29:29Speaker 2: like it seems like the enemy of NASCAR in a
- 29:32Speaker 2: lot of ways, which I'm a huge fan of this
- 29:33Speaker 2: host of our guy who like doesn't give them. I
- 29:35Speaker 2: love them.
- 29:37Speaker 5: I'm a fan.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I'm a big fan.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I'm as big a fane.
- 29:40Speaker 2: He's seventy seven. Then I you just here guys like
- 29:43Speaker 2: guy doesn't give a ship, Like he's not worried about
- 29:45Speaker 2: you liking him or yeah, yeah, oh, he's gonna be
- 29:49Speaker 2: brought up as long as I'm doing this show, you know.
- 29:52Speaker 2: And he rocks seven's that was my number as well.
- 29:54Speaker 2: But this dude just it seems like there's like rules
- 29:57Speaker 2: that are like unwritten that every driver kind of like
- 30:00Speaker 2: learn to understand as you come respect. And this guy's yeah, exactly,
- 30:03Speaker 2: and he's like, no, dude, fuck does rules. I'm out
- 30:06Speaker 2: here to win and race. So like, what how has
- 30:08Speaker 2: it been this season for you?
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:11Speaker 4: I mean the Cup Series is no joke like it
- 30:13Speaker 4: would be.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You know.
- 30:14Speaker 4: The best way I can put it is, you know,
- 30:16Speaker 4: going from like high school straight to the NFL or
- 30:19Speaker 4: like just skipping college and taking the big jump. I
- 30:22Speaker 4: mean it's not even possible. You used to be able
- 30:24Speaker 4: to do it in basketball, but now you can't even
- 30:25Speaker 4: do that. So but yeah, I mean it's just like
- 30:29Speaker 4: the competition level is so much higher. The drivers are
- 30:31Speaker 4: so much better, the teams are so much better. It's
- 30:35Speaker 4: just it's there's no like, there's no way to explain
- 30:39Speaker 4: the challenge of going from Saturdays to Sundays in our
- 30:42Speaker 4: series or in our in our in our sport. But yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 4: I mean, the best way I can put it is
- 30:47Speaker 4: it's just it's so difficult, Like everybody is so good.
- 30:52Speaker 4: You never you can never out smart a guy like
- 30:54Speaker 4: I could last year. You can never find a guy
- 30:56Speaker 4: and he's in a bad spot, and or you can't
- 30:58Speaker 4: put people in bad spot as easily. But I mean
- 31:02Speaker 4: that's the I love the challenge of it. Like it's hard,
- 31:06Speaker 4: but you know it's making me better and not only
- 31:09Speaker 4: challenged me on the track, but like off the track
- 31:11Speaker 4: as well, because you know, everywhere I've been in my career,
- 31:15Speaker 4: like I've won, Like it's it's kind of become. It
- 31:18Speaker 4: was almost normal to me to like chow up to
- 31:19Speaker 4: the track every weekend and be like I'm gonna win
- 31:21Speaker 4: this weekend, and then I get to this and I
- 31:23Speaker 4: haven't even finished top ten once this year, and it's
- 31:25Speaker 4: like it's just such a shock to me, like how
- 31:27Speaker 4: difficult it is. And you know, having to change expectations
- 31:31Speaker 4: and just figure it out and you'll get there soon,
- 31:34Speaker 4: don't worry.
- 31:35Speaker 1: But even going even going from it's like Jesse for you,
- 31:39Speaker 1: like coming out West and even going into the Exfinity
- 31:42Speaker 1: and now o' riley series, Like every level you go up,
- 31:45Speaker 1: it's like in high school, like being the better player,
- 31:48Speaker 1: like the best player on the field. If you would
- 31:50Speaker 1: mess up, you would never like feel any consequential thing
- 31:54Speaker 1: because it's like, Okay, Will's gonna go out there and
- 31:56Speaker 1: make plays. But then when you get to college and
- 31:59Speaker 1: if I was a high and say messed up a
- 32:01Speaker 1: front call, oh Will, we're gonna call it this way
- 32:03Speaker 1: because they're catering to me because I'm the better player.
- 32:05Speaker 1: In college, you mess up a call, the level of
- 32:07Speaker 1: urgency of the entire team around you to where you
- 32:10Speaker 1: feel like, hey, young buck, you better figure it out,
- 32:12Speaker 1: Like this isn't it's not a high school anymore. Then
- 32:14Speaker 1: you get to the NFL and you feel like, you know,
- 32:16Speaker 1: guys get cut, and the urgency just goes up even
- 32:18Speaker 1: higher and the level of competition goes up even higher
- 32:21Speaker 1: to where you've just got to be dialed on your shit,
- 32:24Speaker 1: to where it's like all right, I'll have to put
- 32:25Speaker 1: down the video game for next hour to night because
- 32:27Speaker 1: I need to be ready to go for tomorrow's practice.
- 32:29Speaker 1: In the football world to where I'm sure there's elements
- 32:32Speaker 1: of responsibilities, even thinking beyond yourself and thinking about how
- 32:36Speaker 1: I have to carry myself for the entire team, because
- 32:38Speaker 1: it's not just about me being upset if I lose
- 32:41Speaker 1: a race back home in California anymore. Or when you
- 32:43Speaker 1: come out and you're on the lower levels out in
- 32:45Speaker 1: North Carolina, the higher you climb, the more just ay, buddy,
- 32:49Speaker 1: you are the best one from your pool of drivers.
- 32:52Speaker 1: But now you're in the best of the best, and
- 32:54Speaker 1: it's not even about you anymore. You have an entire
- 32:56Speaker 1: team around you. Toward the pit crews off. If you
- 32:59Speaker 1: make a wrong I'm just gonna say wrong turn, wrong,
- 33:01Speaker 1: left turn, just anything. Everything seems so urgent and so
- 33:06Speaker 1: like you're just hyper aware at the highest level.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, And that's the thing, like, and every mistake
- 33:11Speaker 4: you make is magnified you you hear about it more.
- 33:14Speaker 4: You like, just every good thing and bad thing you do, like,
- 33:18Speaker 4: you hear more about it, and and everything is followed closer.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Every movie you make and stakes are higher. Yeah, everything
- 33:25Speaker 4: is just everything is more challenging and more looked at.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like if you when you're younger.
- 33:31Speaker 4: I love the pressure of it.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yeah, only you know, or not only you, but you
- 33:35Speaker 1: know you messed up and everybody kind of moves on.
- 33:37Speaker 1: When you're at the higher levels, it's you're thinking about
- 33:40Speaker 1: how you messed up every day because you have to
- 33:42Speaker 1: get it corrected for the next time you go out there.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's nuts, man.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Oh just sitting there because I'm trying to also put
- 33:52Speaker 2: myself in there in their mind too.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Like when you're on race day, even when you play,
- 33:57Speaker 1: even when you're racing on Saturdays and then even Sundays,
- 33:59Speaker 1: it's like everything around you probably feels like it moves
- 34:01Speaker 1: so fast at times. Yeah, it's like, okay, I got
- 34:04Speaker 1: to figure out the humanizing factor. I got to figure
- 34:06Speaker 1: out how to compartmentalize it a little quicker. Because coaches
- 34:09Speaker 1: gave me this tip for next week, and it seems
- 34:11Speaker 1: like I've got to be on it.
- 34:12Speaker 4: I mean, we've even got to follow astrology now, like
- 34:15Speaker 4: it's kind of crazy.
- 34:16Speaker 1: The crescent ship, which I still have the waxing crescent.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Yeah, which, by the way, there's a waxing crescent right
- 34:21Speaker 2: now in San Diego, like war or tonight.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Every won't affect us this weekend.
- 34:26Speaker 4: It's a three day, three day period, I think.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yeah, when you were talking about that last week, I
- 34:30Speaker 1: sat here, I had no clue we're talking about.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Affect the football stuff at all.
- 34:37Speaker 2: No, well, yeah, it's a ballfy a little more. I
- 34:40Speaker 2: don't know. I was always walking. I was a glorified
- 34:42Speaker 2: security guarden and there I was kind of just there
- 34:44Speaker 2: to you know, no white, you know, white, no white.
- 34:45Speaker 2: TIA's in the club, trying toss the guys out of there.
- 34:48Speaker 2: But yeah, waxing crescent is taking place. Kind of nice
- 34:51Speaker 2: right now. But you're I mean, let me ask you
- 34:53Speaker 2: this about the waxing crescent. There's only a three day
- 34:55Speaker 2: shelf life on this thing. So you guys get there
- 34:57Speaker 2: to Sunday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 35:00Speaker 4: It's lost more slick, it's lost. Yeah, it's lost.
- 35:03Speaker 2: It's lost of juice.
- 35:04Speaker 4: Yeah, lost its juice. Man, it's tough.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I mean, it's more slippery wa wax and Cristin's more gripped.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Three day shelf life. So it's Tuesday right now, three.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Days when might be gripped up Friday. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 35:19Speaker 4: Good's that Saturday? I don't even know.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So your turns are just easier.
- 35:23Speaker 4: Yeah, the waxing crescent just gives you.
- 35:26Speaker 5: You don't have the gravitational pull.
- 35:28Speaker 2: It's just yeah, I mean tides going in and out
- 35:30Speaker 2: the moon affects a lot of ship.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Yeah, you wouldn't get it. I mean, it's just it's
- 35:34Speaker 4: a different world.
- 35:35Speaker 2: It's a totally different world. I know you guys double
- 35:37Speaker 2: socked up because it's a road race.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I wear both socks.
- 35:40Speaker 1: No, you don't do that.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Oh you're rod dogger because you have no socks on
- 35:45Speaker 2: right now.
- 35:46Speaker 3: No, I have socks, aren't on race socks?
- 35:48Speaker 2: Really, why just don't do it?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Because you don't give a.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Live in California. He doesn't, He doesn't care, dude, He's
- 35:54Speaker 2: he's breaking the mold.
- 35:57Speaker 1: That sock thing. When I realized that that was bullshit,
- 36:00Speaker 1: it's bullshit.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Hold on, I'm sitting talking about.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I'm sitting there watching the tape back from Brisco last week,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and when we should have known when he was like,
- 36:09Speaker 1: I've been doing it my whole life. When you ask
- 36:11Speaker 1: some questions, I've been doing my whole life. And then
- 36:13Speaker 1: that question came back around. Then he's like, oh, I
- 36:15Speaker 1: started to do it when the vets told me about
- 36:16Speaker 1: when I got to the NASCAR. And when I'm watching
- 36:19Speaker 1: the tape back, I'm like I should have. I'm thinking
- 36:22Speaker 1: it's no big Like I don't know about your guys' world,
- 36:24Speaker 1: Like maybe you guys do have that superstition of like
- 36:27Speaker 1: I gotta wear a sock on my foot.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Dude, we were out what was it Saint Louis when
- 36:31Speaker 2: I threw out that that wild first pitch, and there
- 36:34Speaker 2: we were like watching the dudes' hit VP and one
- 36:36Speaker 2: guy had his bat up and I went to go
- 36:38Speaker 2: touch the bat and one of the guys is like,
- 36:39Speaker 2: you probably shouldn't you should ask? Yeah, And I go
- 36:42Speaker 2: up to the the he was a catcher and I'm like, hey,
- 36:44Speaker 2: can I touch your bad He's like no.
- 36:46Speaker 1: And then he's somebody who wears doesn't wash and wears
- 36:49Speaker 1: like the same jock strap or underwear.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Show it, chef. We don't got to show it.
- 36:56Speaker 5: Oh did you hit dirt?
- 36:57Speaker 2: Buddy? I I almost, but you see me a.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Couple worst first pitch of all time.
- 37:04Speaker 1: It's debatable.
- 37:05Speaker 2: And listen, we're gonna take full accountability for that, but
- 37:12Speaker 2: I will show you this right here. You see that's
- 37:13Speaker 2: the U c l Oh, my gosh, so it slides
- 37:17Speaker 2: out a little bit. You're not a man of excuses.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I'm not a man of excuses. This is I'm changing
- 37:22Speaker 2: the subjects. Injuries, collarbone, right, athletes, you and me.
- 37:27Speaker 4: It happens, right, it happens happen.
- 37:29Speaker 2: So sometimes things just happen when you throw it. When
- 37:32Speaker 2: my thumb is how that happened? Too much security guarding,
- 37:35Speaker 2: I would I want to tell you a punch of
- 37:36Speaker 2: guy and I punched too high and it caught his
- 37:39Speaker 2: face mask, caught my thumb and brought it back. But
- 37:42Speaker 2: like during it, it was during one. It was actually
- 37:43Speaker 2: Harold Landry that did that to me. Well, I did
- 37:45Speaker 2: the hair Landry and I'm like, I my hand felt
- 37:48Speaker 2: real warm, so I pulled my glove off. My thumb
- 37:50Speaker 2: just dropped and so they went next ray. It wasn't broken,
- 37:54Speaker 2: but it was just torn, and they're like, hey, you
- 37:55Speaker 2: got it'll be six to eight weeks if you want
- 37:57Speaker 2: to get surgery on that. You probably miss like the
- 37:59Speaker 2: first two or three games. So you get they put
- 38:02Speaker 2: a little like molded a brace on it.
- 38:03Speaker 4: So yeah, he got to keep it.
- 38:06Speaker 2: That's where it goes back. Okay, chef, come on, chef,
- 38:10Speaker 2: what are we doing? Guys?
- 38:12Speaker 5: I was looking for the hand injury a preseason game.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Don't worry about no, No, that was it was actually
- 38:16Speaker 2: just you on the stretcher for that.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 2: I went on the stretcher for that.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Wow.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but there was a full moon.
- 38:22Speaker 5: Did you guys get on the stretcher?
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 38:24Speaker 2: He always Yeah, you guys, mind carrying.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Me over iffect walking ability?
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 38:29Speaker 2: Absolutely. Well you know how the whole body is connected.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Like you said, you take your stocks if you want
- 38:32Speaker 2: to feel everything more. My body needs to fully rest
- 38:36Speaker 2: in order to recover completely.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I gotta put on a stretch.
- 38:39Speaker 2: No, you didn't.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Yeah when when I fell.
- 38:41Speaker 1: No you didn't.
- 38:42Speaker 3: You knocked out?
- 38:43Speaker 2: You didn't say, yeah, but you could stand.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Up when I was knocked out.
- 38:46Speaker 2: You want to see a video of me being knocked out?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah? How long were you knocked out?
- 38:51Speaker 4: Twenty thirty seconds? I woke up and my dad was
- 38:54Speaker 4: right there.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I remember said stay stretcher.
- 38:58Speaker 3: We thought we lost Connor.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't remember any of this.
- 39:02Speaker 2: This is the most viral we saw the video before.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Have you not seen this.
- 39:06Speaker 2: No, we watched it.
- 39:07Speaker 1: We watched it when it was going viral.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you kind of fencing, dude, your first series.
- 39:14Speaker 4: No, it was an O'Reilly win. It was my like
- 39:17Speaker 4: fifth or sixth win last year. And this is NASCAR
- 39:20Speaker 4: driver Ko's himself.
- 39:22Speaker 5: What a what a caption? That's crazy?
- 39:24Speaker 3: And Brown?
- 39:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Antonio Brown said, uh, something I can't say of
- 39:29Speaker 4: the day.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Brocker of the day, non worse.
- 39:33Speaker 4: That's like yeah, and then here I start fencing.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I'm out.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I'm out cold.
- 39:44Speaker 2: You only had the cammerangle. That will be right back
- 39:47Speaker 2: after these messages. I mean when when did when were
- 39:50Speaker 2: you cognitive enough to be like a little bit embarrassed
- 39:53Speaker 2: about that?
- 39:54Speaker 4: When I got to the infield care center and I
- 39:58Speaker 4: my dad was in there with me, and it was hilarious.
- 40:01Speaker 4: My my mom my dad's like super chill guy Jesse
- 40:04Speaker 4: you would know, but like he's just like he's just
- 40:06Speaker 4: like super low key, like never has emotion. And I
- 40:11Speaker 4: fall and my mom's.
- 40:11Speaker 5: Like, oh my god, he's dead. He's dead.
- 40:13Speaker 4: And my dad's like, no, he's fine.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Janis had me thinking that like he was he was done.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Janis my mom and my dad's gym, and my dad
- 40:21Speaker 2: came up to my mom, and my dad's like he'll
- 40:23Speaker 2: be fine, he's and I'm literally knocked out on.
- 40:25Speaker 4: The floor, like and so I get back to the
- 40:28Speaker 4: I get back to the infield care center, and you know,
- 40:32Speaker 4: the doctors are looking at me, and I finally like
- 40:34Speaker 4: come back to my senses. And my dad's like, dude,
- 40:35Speaker 4: you were knocked out. I was like, I wasn't knocked out,
- 40:38Speaker 4: and and he's like, oh, you want to see And
- 40:41Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, show me. The video. Wasn't that bad.
- 40:44Speaker 4: And I didn't even know my collar bone was broken
- 40:45Speaker 4: at this point, Like I had no idea. I was
- 40:47Speaker 4: just really I just woke up and I was like
- 40:49Speaker 4: I felt fine, and and so he shows me the
- 40:53Speaker 4: video and I was like, holy shit, I was knocked out.
- 40:55Speaker 4: And and they put this neck brace on me because
- 40:57Speaker 4: they're like thinking my spinal cord and like, you know,
- 41:01Speaker 4: they're they're not worried about yeah, they're worried about, you know,
- 41:05Speaker 4: me having serious injuries beyond just a broken bone. And
- 41:09Speaker 4: they put this neck brace on me. And the neck
- 41:11Speaker 4: brace like supports from your collarbones almost like it like
- 41:14Speaker 4: sits on your shoulders. And that's when I started. I
- 41:17Speaker 4: had my suit on and so they couldn't see anything,
- 41:19Speaker 4: and that's when I started realizing. I was like, dude,
- 41:21Speaker 4: my shoulder hurts like really bad. And they're like, okay, well,
- 41:25Speaker 4: you know, we got to keep this neck brace on you.
- 41:26Speaker 4: I was like, no, you got to take this neck
- 41:28Speaker 4: brace off of me. My next fine, dude, you got
- 41:29Speaker 4: to take this neck brace off of me. So they
- 41:31Speaker 4: pulled the neck brace off and they pulled my They
- 41:33Speaker 4: like get my suit off of me, and they like
- 41:35Speaker 4: pull my shirt down and they're like, oh yeah, yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 4: we see what you mean now, and like my collarbone's
- 41:42Speaker 4: like about to stick through my skin, and they're like,
- 41:44Speaker 4: all right, we're going to take you to the hospital.
- 41:47Speaker 4: So I got an ambulance right over to the hospital.
- 41:49Speaker 4: And that night, Yeah, I went to Taco Bell after
- 41:52Speaker 4: and got a little.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Stay with me stay with him at the hotel.
- 41:58Speaker 5: I was supposed to raise your shoes day.
- 42:01Speaker 3: To dress them.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Dude, I couldn't take my shirt off.
- 42:05Speaker 4: No, w Yeah, I mean I got surgery later. Yeah,
- 42:09Speaker 4: they gave me all the I went to CBS the
- 42:11Speaker 4: next morning in town and I'm like sitting in line
- 42:14Speaker 4: with this uh with this whatever brace on me, and
- 42:18Speaker 4: I'm like going to get my medicine because I was
- 42:21Speaker 4: in serious pain, like I needed something to help. And
- 42:25Speaker 4: this lady comes up to me in line and she's like,
- 42:27Speaker 4: are you the kid that fell off the car yesterday
- 42:30Speaker 4: that I saw in the news. And I was like, oh,
- 42:33Speaker 4: come on, man. And I was supposed to race on Sunday.
- 42:36Speaker 4: I was doing all three series that weekend, and uh,
- 42:39Speaker 4: obviously I didn't race. I did get surgery that next week,
- 42:42Speaker 4: and I came back and raced ten days after surgery.
- 42:48Speaker 2: After surgery, yeah, how was the mobility?
- 42:50Speaker 5: It was?
- 42:51Speaker 4: It was I'd find mobility, but like it was just
- 42:56Speaker 4: the worst part. So they gave me staples, and the
- 42:59Speaker 4: worst part of it, like I was getting fitted for
- 43:03Speaker 4: my seat after and they like changed my seed and
- 43:06Speaker 4: they were and I had staples. So when the shoulder
- 43:09Speaker 4: belt comes over your collarbone and you tighten that thing down,
- 43:12Speaker 4: it was pushing the staples like deeper into my skin
- 43:14Speaker 4: and that's what hurt the most. So I ended up
- 43:16Speaker 4: getting them to take the staples out and they put
- 43:18Speaker 4: the stair strips on, like the glue strips, and I
- 43:21Speaker 4: was able to get in and I just started the
- 43:23Speaker 4: race and then got out at the first caution, and
- 43:25Speaker 4: someone else got in my car, and that guy, Parker Kligerman,
- 43:27Speaker 4: he ended up winning the race and I got credit
- 43:29Speaker 4: for it. I didn't even drive, I take the green
- 43:33Speaker 4: flag and I got credit for it. So technically I
- 43:35Speaker 4: only won nine races last year and he won the
- 43:37Speaker 4: tenth one, but it still counted in my name if
- 43:38Speaker 4: you look it up on Wikipedia.
- 43:40Speaker 2: One year, Jesse.
- 43:43Speaker 1: He was the caregiver.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Where were where were you when you went and got
- 43:47Speaker 2: for that caution?
- 43:48Speaker 4: So I was I was, I was running the back.
- 43:51Speaker 4: I was just trying not to wreck because we knew
- 43:52Speaker 4: it was the plan all along. Like I was just
- 43:53Speaker 4: going to get out the first caution. We're going to
- 43:55Speaker 4: swap and then you know he was going to finish
- 43:57Speaker 4: the race, and he ended up going out and winning
- 44:00Speaker 4: at Daytona.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Jamie, it's Daytona, Daytona Parker Clerkerman.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Yeah, Jamie, appreciate the shout top left picture. Yeah, So
- 44:16Speaker 4: I'm standing in victory Lane with my damn T shirt
- 44:19Speaker 4: and shorts on.
- 44:20Speaker 2: So who's getting the check for the double?
- 44:22Speaker 5: We both got.
- 44:23Speaker 4: We both got our wind bonus equal equal wind bonus.
- 44:27Speaker 1: Got someone else party. That's like I gotta get my boy, Like, hey,
- 44:35Speaker 1: split the check is kind.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Of I mean with no get the equal amount.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we got what I'm saying.
- 44:41Speaker 4: But they double paid, like the team double the team
- 44:44Speaker 4: did us as solid and double paid.
- 44:45Speaker 1: But I'm saying, whatever you think is coming into you,
- 44:48Speaker 1: I feel like you're just like, hey, you won this.
- 44:50Speaker 5: I gave the trophy.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he gave me the trophy.
- 44:54Speaker 4: He gave me the trophy to he just took the flag.
- 44:57Speaker 4: All he wanted was the flag, So he took the flag.
- 44:59Speaker 4: I took the trophy.
- 45:00Speaker 1: That guy moved like Connor taking fifty percent.
- 45:04Speaker 5: Fifty percent.
- 45:04Speaker 4: We both got one hundred percent, and the team paid
- 45:06Speaker 4: two hundred like the team DoPT like paid extra.
- 45:08Speaker 2: So if you're getting a ten thousand dollars bonus and
- 45:11Speaker 2: I'm and you go in caution, you've got ten thousand dollars.
- 45:13Speaker 2: And I also got to right.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I was thinking, teammate move like, hey, you should probably
- 45:18Speaker 1: take the majority of mine because you you wanted this money.
- 45:20Speaker 1: I shouldn't even be holding any of this bonus.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Correct, you're missing the point.
- 45:24Speaker 5: When you get it, you get it.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I'm with you on that. Yeah, you're with him, Yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 2: he should pay up.
- 45:32Speaker 3: I told Connor, I was like, did you got a
- 45:33Speaker 3: bonus for that? And he was like, oh yeah, And
- 45:35Speaker 3: I was like keeping it and he was like, yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Money. Listen, you ever say no to free money, never.
- 45:44Speaker 1: To free money. I mean, I have no clue.
- 45:46Speaker 2: It's my favorite version.
- 45:47Speaker 4: But he he wouldn't have gotten paid anymore if I
- 45:49Speaker 4: didn't get paid. If I didn't get paid, that's the thing,
- 45:51Speaker 4: Like he got paid.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I'm just saying, you get the bone. You're like, hey,
- 45:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna do you a side.
- 45:56Speaker 5: I mean I did. I did some work, dude, I'm.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Gonna give you. I don't even know what the bonus is.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it's fifty thousand dollars. Like, hey, I'm
- 46:02Speaker 1: gonna give you twenty of this, thirty of this because
- 46:04Speaker 1: you won this rate. You did it. I just sat
- 46:06Speaker 1: in the car.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Twenty what twenty what? Twenty what?
- 46:09Speaker 4: Twenty bucks?
- 46:10Speaker 1: You know his bonus is twenty grand.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I don't think your bones would be twenty grand with it?
- 46:15Speaker 5: Not quite the bonus was that?
- 46:17Speaker 4: Serioesly?
- 46:18Speaker 1: What was it on that race? What was your bonus?
- 46:19Speaker 5: I got ten thousand dollars doing that race.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you're throwing five, like, hey, yeah you this he drove.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I'm just his boy. Also got ten thousand dollars or
- 46:30Speaker 2: whatever his race bonus. Wait, do you guys have the
- 46:32Speaker 2: same race bonuses.
- 46:33Speaker 4: I don't know his contract, but I think so. But
- 46:37Speaker 4: he also got I think.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Oh, so you don't even know if he got ten
- 46:39Speaker 1: grand he.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Did one hundred percent he got, he got his bonus,
- 46:42Speaker 4: he got got his he got paid.
- 46:43Speaker 2: You see what, hey, you see what he's doing to us.
- 46:46Speaker 2: He's saying his bonus. So, buddy's bonus, what's your what's
- 46:48Speaker 2: your with minus ten years?
- 46:50Speaker 1: Ten?
- 46:50Speaker 2: But what was your driver?
- 46:51Speaker 1: What's his name?
- 46:52Speaker 5: Parker?
- 46:52Speaker 2: Parker? We don't know what Parker's bonus. Now, you know
- 46:56Speaker 2: he got ten thousand dollars.
- 46:57Speaker 4: I'm assuming we got the same bonus, and then I
- 46:59Speaker 4: think he gets more on top of that too, like
- 47:01Speaker 4: the race purse.
- 47:02Speaker 2: See, I would start leaning with you if like Parker
- 47:05Speaker 2: got like five thousand and he got ted, It's like, yeah, okay,
- 47:08Speaker 2: throw them a couple like two.
- 47:10Speaker 4: He got He made more money than me that day,
- 47:13Speaker 4: which is fair.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's obvious.
- 47:17Speaker 5: He did the work.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I just watched you gotta go a potty again.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Go ahead, go.
- 47:26Speaker 4: You pissed yourself on your race, that's crazy. I've never
- 47:30Speaker 4: done it.
- 47:31Speaker 2: There's a little there's a thing right there. It's like
- 47:32Speaker 2: an old bus.
- 47:33Speaker 1: See.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Yeah, online school, I.
- 47:34Speaker 5: Forgot online school.
- 47:36Speaker 4: I forgot.
- 47:39Speaker 5: I did online school too.
- 47:40Speaker 4: I can't say.
- 47:42Speaker 1: We're taking a quick pause of the episode to shout
- 47:44Speaker 1: out our sponsor, Form Energy. Form Energy delivers best in
- 47:48Speaker 1: class tastes with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Energy

- 48:09Speaker 1: Form Energy we do the work.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Back to this episode, Hey, so he's got a bladder
- 48:16Speaker 2: of a small kid. He said he doesn't piss himself
- 48:18Speaker 2: during racist.
- 48:18Speaker 4: That's crazy to me because I've I've never pissed myself.
- 48:21Speaker 4: I've wanted to at Telladay. Actually, I came on the
- 48:24Speaker 4: radio at Talladega this year. There's a clip of it
- 48:26Speaker 4: somewhere probably, and I was, I was like, I am
- 48:29Speaker 4: about to piss my pants like I would. It's the
- 48:33Speaker 4: worst when when you like are wrecked and like you're
- 48:36Speaker 4: just running around at the back and you don't have
- 48:37Speaker 4: any adrenaline and uh, I don't know. Bleacher report, the
- 48:42Speaker 4: bleacher report, No, that our my back is when Jesse
- 48:46Speaker 4: wrecked me?
- 48:48Speaker 1: Oh Talladega?
- 48:49Speaker 2: Owl my back, says A writing that down. It's crazy.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Was that a Talladega?
- 48:55Speaker 4: Yeah? He wrecked me in Talladega last year?
- 48:57Speaker 1: Jesse? He says, yes, he's taking a piss, Like, what's
- 49:01Speaker 1: the most real argument you guys have gotten into about racing?
- 49:04Speaker 4: Probably when he wrecked me?
- 49:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you get fixed about it.
- 49:08Speaker 4: I didn't get in his face about it. My mom
- 49:11Speaker 4: was more mad.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Did you find it?
- 49:15Speaker 3: I'm getting kicked.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Well, not kicked out of the house, wait out of
- 49:21Speaker 4: the house. She was mad for like two weeks.
- 49:24Speaker 3: So Connor. Connor's parents house is a pad, Like, it
- 49:26Speaker 3: is a freaking pad. Do you want the address? Put
- 49:28Speaker 3: it up on the It is a pad. So we
- 49:33Speaker 3: hang out there in the summer, go on the lake
- 49:35Speaker 3: and stuff and hang out in the pool and whatever.
- 49:38Speaker 3: And uh, and I get home or not home. I
- 49:41Speaker 3: get to Connor's house to hang out my parents, and
- 49:44Speaker 3: Jani's like was angry at me, like, wouldn't talk to me.
- 49:47Speaker 3: She's like, I don't know why you're here anyway.
- 49:50Speaker 1: And she's dead ass serious.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Oh yes, yeah, And me and Jans are very close
- 49:54Speaker 3: now we're good now.
- 49:55Speaker 5: But what happened, Like it was the last of the race.
- 49:59Speaker 3: I thought you guys were talking about, Yeah.
- 50:00Speaker 2: We're talking about when you when you correct him, but
- 50:02Speaker 2: you came in to wreck him.
- 50:04Speaker 3: He wrecked himself.
- 50:05Speaker 4: We're leading.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Last lap all the time out, so you went to
- 50:09Speaker 1: his leg. This is you're at the house, this is
- 50:11Speaker 1: after this race.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Well that's a big hit too.
- 50:15Speaker 5: I fractured. I fractured to vertebra.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Okay, my bad.
- 50:18Speaker 3: So what happened was I see, okay, well he crashes
- 50:22Speaker 3: right and then and I got out of the car
- 50:24Speaker 3: and I'm like, hey, guys, is he all right? And
- 50:26Speaker 3: they were like, yeah, he's out of the car, dude,
- 50:27Speaker 3: don't worry about he's fine. So my interview, you know,
- 50:29Speaker 3: they said, oh he's fine. Yeah, he's just getting checked
- 50:31Speaker 3: out of the Currisler like we have to, and I
- 50:33Speaker 3: was like, all right, at least he didn't die or nothing, right,
- 50:35Speaker 3: like a little joke. At least he's not dead, right,
- 50:38Speaker 3: And his mom did not like that at all.
- 50:41Speaker 2: So this is a two the one. So you get
- 50:44Speaker 2: pissed at him about this record, then janis is all.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Sort I wasn't. I mean, I was like, come on, man,
- 50:49Speaker 4: like you could have.
- 50:50Speaker 3: So it seems like there was a little It was
- 50:52Speaker 3: the last lap of howaday like you, nobody's going to
- 50:55Speaker 3: make a pass, nobody's going to make a move.
- 50:57Speaker 2: So this is the last lap you're leading. Yeah, and
- 51:00Speaker 2: you didn't touch him at all.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Oh he made contact.
- 51:04Speaker 4: He made contact.
- 51:05Speaker 3: So look watch here, look look look, yellow car goes
- 51:07Speaker 3: down right, white car tries to block wrecks himself.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I kind of see that.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Yeah, but okay, all right, he explained to me in
- 51:17Speaker 2: your words, because I want to see your way too.
- 51:19Speaker 4: On the last slap of the race, like oh yes, smoke. Yeah,
- 51:21Speaker 4: that was a big one.
- 51:22Speaker 1: No, I hate because.
- 51:25Speaker 4: Like me, did you see Christopher Bell's crash?
- 51:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we went up with ye.
- 51:30Speaker 4: So that was sixty his was sixty three, mine was
- 51:32Speaker 4: sixty five. So mine was that was on the mouthpieces
- 51:36Speaker 4: we wear. That was like a bigger hit. Mine was,
- 51:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I got the record. Yeah he got some
- 51:40Speaker 4: durability to Yeah, that one was crazy.
- 51:42Speaker 1: He was trying he was just trying to block him.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Yeah, like it's the last lap of the race, like
- 51:45Speaker 4: you're gonna try and block it.
- 51:46Speaker 1: And when he made his move, he just made it
- 51:48Speaker 1: at the right.
- 51:48Speaker 4: He just like he got he wasn't he wasn't like
- 51:53Speaker 4: it wasn't direct enough, Like it was just like he
- 51:56Speaker 4: was slowly pulling out. So I was like, all right,
- 51:57Speaker 4: I'll follow.
- 51:58Speaker 3: You because if you if you overdo it right, you're
- 52:00Speaker 3: not gonna you're gonna lose the side draft or you're
- 52:02Speaker 3: gonna lose your pusher. So I'm trying to keep my
- 52:03Speaker 3: pusher connected and I'm trying to like make sure when
- 52:06Speaker 3: I pull out that I can clamp on his left
- 52:07Speaker 3: ear and like pull him back.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Okay, let's let's let's go.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Let's go on time out.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Yeah. So you just said a lot of ship just
- 52:16Speaker 2: now you're drafting, and you're drafting him, You're also there's
- 52:19Speaker 2: a side draft involved. By the way, I'm today years old.
- 52:22Speaker 2: When I was gonna say and then you have a
- 52:24Speaker 2: guy behind you, behind me, Yes, he was what drafting you?
- 52:27Speaker 3: He's bump drafting me.
- 52:28Speaker 2: He's bum jay Okay, so he's he's he's on the rear.
- 52:30Speaker 2: He's giving you a little push.
- 52:31Speaker 1: They're shaking bacon.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Ye sounds shaking bacon, which people.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Take me were like in like twelfth the lap before
- 52:38Speaker 3: like we like made a a cumongous push the last
- 52:42Speaker 3: like lap and a half.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Was it a waxing crescent before this rate?
- 52:44Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think it was a strawberry man.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Oh really?
- 52:47Speaker 2: Oh okay, first off, heard no, just put that the
- 52:50Speaker 2: show for question.
- 52:50Speaker 1: But let him let him keep going on the sea.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Talk to me about the drafting thing. Positioning yourself. What
- 52:56Speaker 2: is a side draft?
- 52:57Speaker 3: Just a side draft? So you have two cars. Here's
- 52:59Speaker 3: my hands right, so Car one is on the right,
- 53:02Speaker 3: Car two is on the left. So Car two when
- 53:04Speaker 3: he gets to right here, he's dumping air off of
- 53:06Speaker 3: like because the air is coming off the nose right.
- 53:08Speaker 3: So he's dumping air that's coming off the right side
- 53:10Speaker 3: of his nose on this guy's spoiler spoiler, like that
- 53:13Speaker 3: wing on the top right. So he's dumping air on
- 53:15Speaker 3: that guy's spoiler, which is like making a bunch of
- 53:17Speaker 3: drag for him and sewing and sewing car two down
- 53:21Speaker 3: and it's like huge.
- 53:22Speaker 2: So this car is getting slowed down by this Yeah,
- 53:25Speaker 2: this car.
- 53:25Speaker 3: So if two cars were on like on Talladega Racing,
- 53:28Speaker 3: and it was just two cars by themselves and they
- 53:30Speaker 3: were side by side, it would always look like this.
- 53:32Speaker 4: They would just go back and forth one the other.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you're you're drafting him also getting his side draft.
- 53:40Speaker 4: No no, no, so he's getting bump drafted by his teammate.
- 53:43Speaker 4: And then when he goes out to pass me, he
- 53:45Speaker 4: never got to the point where he side drafted me
- 53:47Speaker 4: because he wrecked where he could get there. But he
- 53:50Speaker 4: would be side drafted me if he got to like
- 53:52Speaker 4: my quarter panel, like my left rear. When you get
- 53:55Speaker 4: to somebody's left rear and you could be like here,
- 53:57Speaker 4: like as long as you get like barely close enough,
- 53:59Speaker 4: you can drag him back and passing.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Drag their as the hell dragon back. Yeah, they're definitely
- 54:06Speaker 2: putting us on a lite.
- 54:07Speaker 1: So so so in your mind the only fix for
- 54:10Speaker 1: your situation is like he he wrecked me, it would
- 54:14Speaker 1: be like he did. Just either have to slow down
- 54:16Speaker 1: or you should just let him.
- 54:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I should just let him have the run.
- 54:18Speaker 4: At the end of the day, I should have let
- 54:20Speaker 4: him have the run and then hopefully like somebody else
- 54:22Speaker 4: picks me up. And yeah, but when I like, he's
- 54:25Speaker 4: got his teammate right behind him. So like that car.
- 54:28Speaker 4: So he's the yellow car up top in second place, Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 4: on the right, on the far side, and his teammate
- 54:34Speaker 4: is that blue car right behind him. His teammate is
- 54:37Speaker 4: going to go with him because they're teammates. They are
- 54:39Speaker 4: going to work together.
- 54:40Speaker 2: So he's push drafting and then also get draft as
- 54:42Speaker 2: well while your push drafting.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got a double. He's got to push and
- 54:45Speaker 4: he's drafting off.
- 54:46Speaker 2: I don't know, I was an idiot for a second,
- 54:50Speaker 2: did I say something Underson lingo, we're thrandom.
- 54:54Speaker 4: You're speaking outside of his you're you're you're above his life.
- 54:57Speaker 2: But also I've been doing racing with this our fourth episode,
- 54:59Speaker 2: so I kind of know my it now.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so hold on, we're trying to be better for
- 55:01Speaker 1: the audience.
- 55:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so push.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Draft, bump draft, Yeah, push draft.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Okay, bump draft my bad bump draft. Yeah, he's catching
- 55:10Speaker 2: a little draft as well too.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Correct Connor at this point because I've broken through his bubble.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Probably not okay, hold on.
- 55:17Speaker 5: The bubble you're opening.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Bubble is like it basically like a high pressure system
- 55:22Speaker 3: of air behind the car, where like turbulent air gets
- 55:24Speaker 3: like a new ball formation and it starts like getting
- 55:26Speaker 3: really turbulent behind the bumper of the car when it's
- 55:28Speaker 3: going really fast. So ends up happening as if two
- 55:30Speaker 3: cars were at Talladega and now we're like car one
- 55:34Speaker 3: and two right, the car too would never actually pass
- 55:37Speaker 3: the guy.
- 55:37Speaker 4: You can never push the guy. You would never be
- 55:39Speaker 4: able to get.
- 55:40Speaker 3: Only we can break through the bubbles with a bump
- 55:43Speaker 3: drafter behind you pushing you. So this guy in second
- 55:46Speaker 3: job is to like actually lift It's like Star Wars
- 55:49Speaker 3: and slow down to get the bump draft to be
- 55:51Speaker 3: able to push the guy's bubble. It's like off a
- 55:54Speaker 3: turn two here, like I was all the way out
- 55:56Speaker 3: of the gas to get my teammate hooked up with
- 55:57Speaker 3: me to get a big enough run to where I
- 55:59Speaker 3: can actually like break through Connor's bubble and put a
- 56:02Speaker 3: line pass them.
- 56:03Speaker 4: It's like Star Warship. It's like may the Force be
- 56:05Speaker 4: with you. Two cars, two cars, together. It's we're not
- 56:09Speaker 4: fucking with you. I swear I.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Believe everything you're saying. Strawberry Moon a little bit, but
- 56:16Speaker 2: right here.
- 56:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so if two cars are together, they'll go faster
- 56:20Speaker 4: and they don't even have to touch each other, like okay,
- 56:22Speaker 4: they'll just like the air will push them, the air
- 56:26Speaker 4: will push them.
- 56:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Okay, so talk to me about So why is a
- 56:28Speaker 2: bump draft even worth doing?
- 56:30Speaker 4: Because when two guards get connected, it's faster than.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay, I didn't hate you corrected the first time. No,
- 56:37Speaker 2: I got you.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Now I got you.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Essentially.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Yeah, those green arrows behind the car, Bacon, it's like
- 56:45Speaker 3: the air basically getting like in this pocket where it
- 56:47Speaker 3: kinds of bubble and it looks looks like a balloon.
- 56:49Speaker 3: Basically you're just like pushing a balloon.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, okay.
- 56:52Speaker 1: So and you were in his bubble.
- 56:54Speaker 3: I broke his bubble.
- 56:55Speaker 5: He broke my bubble and hit me.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Well you're not like you're shaking a bacon. But it's
- 56:59Speaker 1: not like a teammate, cha.
- 57:00Speaker 6: B this is.
- 57:03Speaker 2: His teammate are shaking and so okay, well once again,
- 57:09Speaker 2: remember because the bumper, So are we here saying right
- 57:15Speaker 2: now and racing with the boys that shaking bank is
- 57:17Speaker 2: a real thing.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Under Yeah, yeah, that's that's it's not Talladega Knights is
- 57:22Speaker 4: not a is not a comedy. It's a documentary.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Okay, two weeks.
- 57:27Speaker 1: I like that.
- 57:28Speaker 2: I like that a lot.
- 57:29Speaker 1: It seems like a documentary. Bets.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we had a couple of guys on here that
- 57:34Speaker 2: are like, we'll watch you one specific individuals like fuck
- 57:38Speaker 2: that movie. I can't say.
- 57:40Speaker 3: He was on the podcast.
- 57:41Speaker 2: He was in the show.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Friend of the show, Friend of the show, So use
- 57:44Speaker 3: a friend.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Well first friends, that's crazy. Yeah, Bubba du.
- 57:49Speaker 4: That thanks Mitch. Yeah, he don't. Don't listenba man, I
- 57:56Speaker 4: don't got beef.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Okay, but we could start.
- 57:59Speaker 5: But I don't like that take you win.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Mom sees the post game and the way you come
- 58:04Speaker 1: off makes it seem like that was the necessary. Hey,
- 58:06Speaker 1: at least he's not dead, is what it is.
- 58:08Speaker 3: I thought it was fine. I thought he was fine,
- 58:10Speaker 3: and then I then had to walk. The walk was
- 58:12Speaker 3: actually pretty tough for me. But yeah, at the time,
- 58:16Speaker 3: I thought he was fine.
- 58:17Speaker 1: But then she go fast forward to you guys at
- 58:19Speaker 1: the house. She kicks you out of the house.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Well, it was just she was just like, yeah, she
- 58:25Speaker 3: likes at me.
- 58:26Speaker 4: I had to sit her down and be like, mom, yeah.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Like you guys are solid. But mom, there's a.
- 58:32Speaker 4: Facebook Facebook post out.
- 58:35Speaker 2: Maybe they might have said what she said. I don't know,
- 58:37Speaker 2: I give me, give me like that wasn't very You
- 58:39Speaker 2: don't have to say verbratom.
- 58:40Speaker 3: It just wasn't very positive.
- 58:43Speaker 4: It was like, I don't know, to kill something like
- 58:50Speaker 4: was it tasteful or was it like, oh.
- 58:51Speaker 2: This would sour soud?
- 58:54Speaker 5: It was sour. It was a sour. It was a
- 58:56Speaker 5: sour post.
- 58:56Speaker 2: And when you're at this pool party or you're at
- 58:58Speaker 2: this this uh incredible pad.
- 59:00Speaker 4: You ain't gonna find it. It's deep.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Actually yeah, because it did you at any point be
- 59:08Speaker 2: like janis miss Janis, Like it's his fault. I don't know,
- 59:14Speaker 2: well it was.
- 59:15Speaker 3: I didn't try to educate on the whole drafting thing.
- 59:19Speaker 4: I was so I was so sick of the sourness
- 59:21Speaker 4: that I even had to step in and be like, mom,
- 59:23Speaker 4: it's not his fault, Like.
- 59:24Speaker 2: She's right, yes, so you're you're taking fault.
- 59:27Speaker 4: I didn't take fault. I would never take fault. The
- 59:29Speaker 4: race car drivers we don't take fault, right, we never
- 59:32Speaker 4: take fault.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough, but Connor seemed like he was on
- 59:35Speaker 1: the spot to where he probably was, the type of
- 59:36Speaker 1: way about it, stuff was going on with.
- 59:39Speaker 5: His mom and yeah, I had Jesse so much say.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Hey guys, like, this is what happened, like it is
- 59:44Speaker 1: what it is.
- 59:44Speaker 2: And as I'm sitting here right now, I've only heard
- 59:48Speaker 2: Connor say I should have done this differently, and that
- 59:51Speaker 2: Jesse has been like no, like he fucked up the
- 59:54Speaker 2: whole time.
- 59:55Speaker 1: It did seem like you when I'm hearing Jesse, and
- 59:58Speaker 1: then that's kind of his car drivers explain.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: I'll explain everything that you did wrong. Do you want
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: me to know?
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Let's do that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Jamie, you're all back about like thirty seconds.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: Where about Connor, he's got to have one.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: You took him twelve and oh and two k.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah, just look up on the YouTube and I do
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: twenty twenty five talladega excenity.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I do want to point out don't say crash. Don't
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: say crash, that's a crash, just put exfinity.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: I do want to point out too, when we first
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: met Jesse, he was very self spoken. We said want
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: to get him out of a shell. I think this
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: is go to that and then we're breaking his bubble
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: right now, Just go to the end.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: Now, skip to the end. Yeah, like right there, a
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: little farther back. Yeah, right here to go.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: So who's in front?
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Skip ahead a little bit?
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: No, you just stay right here and explain what's happening.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Just explain where you guys are at, who's in front.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Who's I'm leading, I'm that white car.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: You just make it full screen.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Locking chef, chef so nervous right now, I just.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Like double clicking full screen.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Because we're showing it we have. If we go full screen,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: they won't be able to see it.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Okay, you got you got to rewind though. We're back
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: and yeah we're trash.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: Not that not that far, not that far. Just go
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: back like thirty seconds.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Two laps ago, two laps ago me and in like.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: Ten Jesse's like fourth car on the top, that yellow
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: that yellow car leading.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Connor is too far out already. I would say I.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Had a rocket ship this day. I didn't know what
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: to do with it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: At least for a certain to take accountability. It's skips
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: that sucks. You can't see the whole thing.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: See, we got connected.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: In your in your mind, Jesse, you're you're now instead
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: of Connor coaching you at the age fourteen, now you're
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: you're coaching. You're breaking this film down.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Nobody going to tell it is like the best I mean, honestly, probably.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: The best drafter like ever. Yeah, in the in the mart,
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: this stuff, at this at the Talladegas, the bump draft. Yeah,
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: the bump draft.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: So break down in your mind if you're coaching Connor and.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: He just got too far out. He just got too
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: far out right, and then he tried to make a
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: late block and that like stacks the top up to
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: losing momentum. So then the top gets connected and then
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: you have no chance of like this isn't defending the run.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: From what I remember from the race, it's all good.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I really want to know. So you and Janis are
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: good now?
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: And it took multiple weeks.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: The weeks probably.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: And there was no did you reach out a couple
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: of times? I feel like.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: You, yeah, I would see the Okay, now we're good honestly,
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: and now we're on best terms ever ever.
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Ever, Wow, because I'm not racing against him every week.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's got to feel good. That's gotta feel good
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: for me again.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: But me and Connor had some like a lot of
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: like legit, like pretty good battles.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like we've had to race each other
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: for big things more than other people.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: Yeah, like his first ARCA race at Walkins Glenn Walkin
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: has gone a couple of weeks ago, the championship race Talladega.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: We've we've been through it, had a couple couple of deals,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: taking a couple of run in this combo.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: When hearing you guys three through the racing, hearing you
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: guys talk to the racing like you break down ball
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: like that, I think it's sick listening to you because
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: it seems like you guys are going to be doing
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: this for a long time hopefully, and you guys are
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: sitting here at what twenty and twenty one, nineteen and
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: twenty one years old, kind of talking the craft because
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: you're gonna one day be right in the Cup series.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Explain how explain how that works getting called up or
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: you're now you're in the big leagues. Because in my
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: in my brain when we're kind of preparing for you guys,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: you won the ten races last year, you win the championship,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: you're going to the Cup Series. You didn't go to
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: the Cup Series? Like, how does that world kind of
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: work to where you're now permanently in the Cup Series.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll explain my mine first. So I got signed.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: I'll treat it like football. So I was I.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Was playing, I was playing, I'm in the pocket.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: I was playing high school football in twenty twenty three
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: and I got signed by an NFL team on a
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: development contract and they were like, we're gonna sign you.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: We're going to help you get through high school to
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: college and then you're gonna race for us, or you're
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: gonna play for us in the NFL when you're ready.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: And so I I had that with a track house.
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: The team that i'm with now, they signed me at
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: the end of twenty twenty three, and they supported me
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: and got me to to Exfinity, and basically they were like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: if you do well enough, you're going to race for us.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: So they basically.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: Helped me and got me to where I am and
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: then in turn they have the rights to me. So
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: I raced for them now.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: So you win the ten races even though you didn't
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: win the championship, it's like, hey, you feel ready to go,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: like we're ready to run, got you? Okay?
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: At what point for two things? One doesn't happen in football.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: All good though, exactly.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Analogy now just like baseball.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Yeah, people will have your rights. I think at eighteen
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: you can get your rights.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Yeah, what point last year when you're winning all these races,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: you win ten races, when we were like, yeah, they're
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: gonna they're going to make the call.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: Uh well I didn't start winning ntil like back yeah
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: until until that race. I that was like the start
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: of so after that race, I went on an eighteen race.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: I went on an eighteen race top five streak after that,
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: after the crash, after that Talladay crash.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: That's so it was probably like it was probably like
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: May of.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Last year when I when I signed my deal and
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: knew I was gonna be in Cup for this year.
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: Really yeah, so it's pretty early.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Yeah, who's the first person you called?
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: It kind of happened slow, like it was like it
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: wasn't like a you're gonna be with us next year
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: is like we're working on AFT. Yeah, it's like a draft.
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: It's like that's a good reference. That's a good reference.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's not quite like that moment where it's
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: like one moment you know you're going here. It's kind
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: of like, all right, we're thinking about it. All right,
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: we're gonna put a contract in front of you. Like
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: it all happens kind of slow in our world.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: And then you're negotiating a contract essentially while you're racing
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: a weekend. Exactly what is that stress like for you,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: because that happens in the NFL, where guys like in
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: contract negotiations.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Yeah, while they're playing back half.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Of the season. I never personally went through that, but
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: it's got to be like if you stressful, Yeah, if
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: you don't do well, contract comes in, it's a little
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: lighter than it was a week prior. And then obviously
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: by first if you win, it's like I will juicee
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: up a little bit.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that stuff can happen. It hasn't happened to me,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: but you know it's just I mean, yeah, like when
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: in our sport, I mean it's very cutthroat, like you're
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: always guys are always trying to move around, find the
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: next best deal, race for the next best team, and yeah,
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: I mean you're you're always I mean the silly season
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: we call it like starts, it starts, it already started
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: for next year for us. So yeah, I mean once
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: you get to April and May in the year, like
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: everybody starts talking on where people are gonna go, where
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: they're gonna move, and like, I mean, yeah, there's only
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: like the first two months of the race season where
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: there's not much noise of it, and then once you
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: get to May, it's like everyone's talking about where guys
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: are gonna move.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: And yeah, how about how about for you, Jesse, what
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: about with like going like thinking about the future of
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: being a permanent Cup Series guy.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I think for the.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Same situation right now the contracts are happening.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I think for me, like obviously last year in
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: the championship, there's like a a couple of month period
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: where you like reaped the benefit of the of the
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: performance that you have, right so Connor winning you know,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: for me, we're winning a championship, Like, okay, I go
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: win a championship in November. Well, every deal signed for
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: the next year, right for the next season, So for
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: me at least, like I had a I signed a
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: three year deal with RCR to go Exfinity racing starting
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: you know, two years ago to my third year now.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: So I never had at least a thought that I
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: was going to be Cup Series racing this year because
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: I had to make you know, make full my contract
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: at RCR right, and I'm having a great time to
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: run the Exfinity car. So but obviously this year was
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: when I started to make like more of a push,
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: like during interviews and things like that, like making my
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: my case of at least like what I want to
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: do right of going Cup racing. And every contract different,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: like Connor signed a one year deal last year, right.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: To two year deal ye.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: So Connor, Well, I meant like for Infinity.
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, my Exfinity deal last year was one year.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: So like when you have if you sign a three
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: year deal, it's you know, kind of hard to get
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: out of that earlier stuck and obviously then you're stuck.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Or can you can you can buy yourself out, you
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: can buy you personally, buy yourself out.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Yeah, or the team, Yeah, the team, the team that
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: wants you or whatever. There's there's things, there's ways to
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: get out of contracts. But yeah, I mean, like if
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: you sign yourself up for a three year deal, with
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: a you know, an okay team because you know you're
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: not really proving yourself yet, and then you go out
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: and kill it the first two years and then you're
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: stuck with the ok team when good teams want you.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: That's kind of where it's like, oh, man, like I
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: put myself in a bad spot because I didn't know
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: I was. This opportunity was better than anything I had
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: ever gotten, so I was gonna take it. But yeah,
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: I mean that's part of it, like the risk reward
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: you take of you know, putting yourself in.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: There's some like betting on yourself. Yeah, like Scottie Pippen
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: when he signed that contract with the Bulls, right, Like
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: I'm making all these references. I just read the or
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: just watched the documentary, but he you know, signed that
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: like bad contract for a long time because he wasn't
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: sure if he got her, Like I had to take
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: care of his family and things like that. Same thing
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: goes and like racing of like found yourself. If you
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: want options at the end of your contract, you sign
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: a three year deal or a one year deal things
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're and you're in year three of your
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: deal contract when you were talking about interviews. Are you
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: saying interviews in front of like sponsors for the teams?
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: More so like when I have like a pub media
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: obligation right to let.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Teams know hem on the market.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Got you starting to signal?
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: Well, more so just like that, what my expectation is
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: to go Cup racing? Okay, not necessarily saying I want
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: to leave one team to go another team or anything
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: like that, just more so of of saying what my
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: goal is.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Have you guys seen this?
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: Hilarious?
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I watched it.
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: I watched a couple of nights ago. I was in
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: bed staring at my phone, just like cackling. Yeah, it
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: was hilarious.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Blaney solid I thought he didn't past right, I've heard
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: he does, like.
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: He has like a stag card.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: He was in the movie.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: He's part of the union.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so that's sick.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: I did not know that. I don't know he was
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: in the race. You were in the race one too,
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: for the Nasty Navy. But would you guys ever do
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: something like this?
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: This?
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Eli mannings of course the cover I think because Omaha produces, Yeah,
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: yeah they do.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Do maybe plus production company.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys would know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Huh we would know they produced this show. Isn't that amazing?
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Where are they from the time?
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: You guys, You guys should figure out. You guys should
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: figure out how to do like a tandem, like a duo.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: Yeah, duo undercover?
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: I know I want I watched it. It was hilarious.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: Would you guys want to be like old guys or would.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: You I don't know what I want to Actually, you
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: could probably have the gate of an old.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: I can't believe he was able to pull that off.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: And it was solitude like his act.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: Yeah he was.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: His accident was good.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like, Yeah, you guys should definitely do
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: something like this. What would your name be if you
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: wanted to, uh do an undercover deal? Did you have
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: a name in your head?
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: Shamus o'reiley?
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Okay, shamous O'Reilly sounds good, not what.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: You thought about.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: You do not have a name. Can you do an
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Irish accents?
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Give us something.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: I need to say something about a Guinness.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: On the spot.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, man, I don't know how to do an
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: Irish accent.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: The top of the Mornings, Oh, I need to guin it.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: Riley is out, dude, the top of this is out.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: You could just be like Chad, Chad something, just use
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: a regular voice, a frat kid, Yeah Chad, Yeah, frad
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: kid would be solid. Tank head band could.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Walk into the deal a lot as like a frat kid, Like, yeah,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: that would be that could be go for the drivers
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: and disguise.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: This is no facial hair to go along with that.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: I could just put a belly on me a little
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: a little.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Beer mustache or something like that. Get like like a
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: fade that has like lightning bolts on the side, just
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: like truly go into like the hardest stio type.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: And then he could kind of be like his uh
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: professional hand because he gets in a lot of trouble,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: so he's got to be around him at all times.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Yeah, trust fun kid, And I'm like you're.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, trust one Kid's good. I like that
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: collar shirts, some like boat shoes, yeah, Sperry some of
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: those like four and a half and just every SEC game
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: you see those.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Frat guys that could be every single one.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: They all have the same exact get up on.
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Do you see all the frat burners on Twitter? Do
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: you know what that is?
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Frat burners?
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: You know I'm cap in tapped in all right, chef
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: tell us about the frat Burners.
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: It's a collection of young kids in college who have
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: anonymous burners with funny names, and they commentate on a
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: lot of things in the world, usually very unsavory comments
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: and stuff. Some would say funny depends on who you are.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: Who you are, it is very fun who you are.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: No, I haven't seen that. I'm too old. Yeah, thirty four, man,
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: I'm an old I'm an old dog. I died tomorrow.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: They'd be like that full life.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: You get back to the that Strawberry moony.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just about to pull that off the shelf.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: Okay, Paul, go back in your history if don't scroll
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: too far down, but pull back up in your history
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: where you were looking up the moon phases.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Yea, yeah, it's just going to go back.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: The moon ship.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Yeah, sh it's really that's a stroke.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no no no nook back back
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: back back back space no back. Oh yeah, that one
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: you had something pulled up. I'm pretty sure if I
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: did my calculations, right, yeah, yeah, right now waxing on
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: June twenty ninth, Strawberry moon.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's full moon.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: I just think that I just think that on nights
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: like that, crazy things happen.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like what kind of crazy things?
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean full Moon's were wolves. That's one thing
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: that can possible.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: Dogs come out.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: I believe it was a strawberry moon when you broke
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: your back.
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it was.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: Was it actually a strawberry moon?
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: That's getting into the weeds of everything now, Yeah, but if.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: You're looking at shelf lives of everything.
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: Starrett, moons can can last a while.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Oh they can.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Here's the problem though, what if you get a strawberry
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: moon and then like two days later there's a waxing
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: crescent which one super seeds the other.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Bad shit happened.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: I beg that it happens. Huh. It can't be good
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: when they probably counteract each other. Yeah, God, that is
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: so interesting, dude. How about the.
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Moon huh, waning crescent? How about that slame? No, that
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: was October waxing crescent. It was a waxing crescent when
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: I wrecked.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Is there wasn't really what I'm saying that grip though,
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: that's weird.
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: Get me, you know you didn't save me.
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: Because you're in the rocket ship, but you know what
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: to do with it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't know.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't know what to do with what was
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: going on there. What is what's the worst crash in
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: like NASCAR histor Like, what is one that's like, oh wow,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: that Michael wal trip at Bristol wal Trip of Bristol
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: watched we could see this video that that's gonna be
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: cool to see. But what everyone was saving?
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, yeah, he walked out.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: He walked out.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Oh really, So this is one of the worst crashes ever.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: I like to know this.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: I think this is the worst crash.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: I like to know the moon that night or that morning.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Keep Oh damn, yeah.
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: There's a video. Keep going, there's a video. Yeah, right there,
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: you had it. Yeah, I think this is the worst
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: crash Bristol.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: This is in Tennessee. I learned that today. Oh my god.
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: The car completely dissipated.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: He was fun.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: Look at the car.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: How fast is he going when he hit that? Where's
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: the man?
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: He's in there, he's right there. You can see his helmet.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: That's nuts, man crazy.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: Austin's was really bad at Daytona, right, Yeah, Austin doing
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Daytona five crash that was fourteen years ago.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that was that was like the nineties. Yeah,
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: I mean that.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: When you're when you're a nineties kid, though, dude, it
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: was always like about ten years ago. So I'm with
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: you on this one was.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Nuts, dude.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Oh, calm him down.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: He's in the top.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: I think right, he's Oh my god, that's way worse, dude.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's not worse.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: That's ricky Bobby through the air.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: When you see a crash and like parts and pieces
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: are flying off the car and the guy's crashing for
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: a long time, like energy is dissipating the Michael Waltrip crash.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Like when when you when you stop that fast, your
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: body is stopping that fast. That's what hurts you.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I love how it like the energies, the balloons,
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: all that stuff, the way you break it down for me,
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: and it's actually super helpful. It from there, Well, I
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: didn't see that wax and give us the dad the
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: wal Trip one mm waxing gibbus.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: He's the three.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: It's just different shades, different shades of the different shadow.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: Ye, some fans got like messed up. I'm pretty sure.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Oh I bet look at those parts. Think it's like
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Ghost dohost ship. The opening scene of Ghost ship.
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: And the I don't want like I don't know the
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: other NASCAR Cup guys or if the Cup guys have
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: talked about this, but the the problem with the well,
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: the problem with the next gen car, like when that
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: first came out was like it's so sturdy and so strong,
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: right that like when they crash, it looked like the
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: cars they would take huge hits, Not like that, right,
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: but they take huge hits where the car would not
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: deform or pieces wouldn't really fly off like they should.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: So that so they're taking more of the brunt of
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: that energy. So now like NASCAR is doing a lot
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: to like make the car crush and break and file.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Like newer vehicles now right next, well, just I'm talking
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: about regular vehicles in general too, Like the safety cars
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: have to give.
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: The crush because the crush gives you time, like the
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: driver slow down, inertia, breaking that one down Newton's law.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that. He's got a couple of them.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: He's got a few, right, he's got a few.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: A relative of you sound like one in my family tree.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: You sound like my family tree. That's what my mom
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: told me. I mean, that's what that's what my first.
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Word was SpongeBob.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: Nice, we're different, I guess, yeah, well.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: You're descending SpongeBob.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: My first word was SpongeBob.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: You know, oh, that's kind of cool.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: That's bullshit.
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: I'm dead ass.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: You know that's bullshit. Your first word is mama or dad?
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: I'm so serious.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: Multiple, multiple.
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: I would sit on the Twilder Brothers. I'd sit on
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: the couch and watch SpongeBob all day long. And one
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: day my my dad turned off SpongeBob and put put
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: on the news, and I sat there and said, bum Bob,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: bum bob.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: You don't remember that when I remember, like, it was yes,
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: and just ask him to say first word? What was
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: my first word?
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: Call dad?
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: Okay, that's the oldest thing I've ever seen. You're a
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: young cat.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, breaks some breads.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm on a podcast right now. What was my
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: first word?
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Bob?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Here?
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Bullshit?
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, keep him on.
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: Hell it was it had to be dad, Dad? Was
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: it dad?
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: D bum bob?
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it was bum bob, bum bob.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, just let it, We'll take it.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, hey dad, Dad. Just for
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: busting with the boys, just for confirmation, racing with the boys. Yeah,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: racing with the boys is Jesse love and janis? Are
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: they cool? Is the beef squashed? There was? Okay, there
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: we go.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: That is crazy.
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: I'll crazy.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you you graduated with honors with that
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: number and means when your name comes up when they're
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: going to bed, janis still like theres there might be
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: a sentence that comes up, She says, half true truth jokes.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Yeah it is. I'm glad he's doing well. Now do
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: you believe now? No?
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: No, I don't, But no, my parents have been lying
