- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Most favorite scary movie spite
- 0:27of her favorite. My name is Jessie.
- 0:28My name is Travis and did not rehearse that opening this no
- 0:32reason. It was impromptu.
- 0:34I always go around the house all year long.
- 0:36Not even around Christmas. Just going to egg this.
- 0:38So this is my chance especially You said, Billy?
- 0:42So, that's right. We are talking about Black
- 0:47Christmas or black Xmas, I don't know.
- 0:49However, you want to refer to it.
- 0:50It's the remake of by Christmas from 1974 the 2006 Edition.
- 0:55Yes, we Have No announcements this week other than the fact
- 0:59that we had to. Unfortunately reschedule, our
- 1:04guest appearance for this week, we had to make a last-minute
- 1:07change up, how House LLC was his choice and movie.
- 1:10So we wanted to retain At 4:00 when he does get a chance to
- 1:13come on next month. So we decided to push that back
- 1:17to next month's schedule. We happen to have black
- 1:19Christmas 2006 on DVD and it seemed like the perfect
- 1:24opportunity to just throw it into the schedule.
- 1:26Yeah. It was one that I've actually
- 1:27been wanting to watch for a while because we have.
- 1:30We watched it together. No, we haven't Jesse swears that
- 1:33we've watched this movie, but I swear, and I didn't even jog my
- 1:36memory at all. When we watched it last night,
- 1:39but that's beyond the point. So yeah, we found this one in
- 1:44like scare fest. There's a vendor vintage
- 1:47collectibles type Booth. Yeah, we got some VHS.
- 1:51Yeah, r.l. Stine few Street books.
- 1:58Yeah, yeah. They had a lot of really cool
- 2:00stuff out there, and I didn't realize how rare the black
- 2:05Christmas or pound of black accents.
- 2:07Oh no, I'm gonna replace Christmas.
- 2:09Yeah, I didn't realize how rare the black Christmas.
- 2:12Remake is to find in physical addition form.
- 2:16There is no Blu-ray of this movie and existence other than I
- 2:19think there's like a Canadian one, which is super rare.
- 2:22And there's also the DVD, which is what we have, but we have a
- 2:28very special DVD. It's a blockbuster edition DVD.
- 2:32Hell yeah, some people might think that's ugly.
- 2:34I fuckin love it because I'm super nostalgic for the whole
- 2:37movie rental days. And, you know, it's just kind of
- 2:40cool half of Of our saw collection is Blockbuster it is,
- 2:44and I like, it's just kind of nice.
- 2:47I mean, I know there are nicer editions of those movies out
- 2:49there. But those are like, special,
- 2:51they're special. Yeah.
- 2:53So, moving on. I'm going to go into the poll
- 2:55results for last week's movie, which was deadly games.
- 3:00Dial code, Santa Claus. Jesse people were on my side for
- 3:05this one, I'm telling you, you were somehow the voice of the
- 3:08people, all right? Like I don't care.
- 3:11I stand by my opinion. Ian's.
- 3:12Yeah. So we had a the pole was
- 3:16basically just is this a new Christmas classic because you
- 3:20know, it's an older movie but rediscovered recently.
- 3:24So in this household for me, it's a new Christmas classic.
- 3:28And on Twitter, 100% of the people voted.
- 3:30Yes. And on Instagram. 75% of the
- 3:34people voted. Yes.
- 3:35So you got 25% of the Greece of the okay.
- 3:39Look look to each their own. Like I said, I'm glad there are
- 3:42people out there that love it. It's enough for me, dog.
- 3:46I got a, it's fine. You're very harsh on the movie,
- 3:50but, you know, I still love you. I forgive you.
- 3:52It's okay, I'm not sorry. You should be All right, so with
- 3:58that out of the way, let's get into the movie info for black
- 4:01Christmas 2006. Yes.
- 4:05So this movie was written and directed by Gwyn Morgan.
- 4:08He also has some help with screenplay from Roy Moore.
- 4:11This movie has a fucking gas because it's an ensemble, a
- 4:15fucking cat. Yeah, hell yeah.
- 4:18It's a nice cast and I'm going to read a lot of names because
- 4:22this is a movie where I go out of the movies.
- 4:24Have a lot of characters, I don't play a role in this.
- 4:27I feel Like everybody plays their part in this movie.
- 4:29Yeah. So let's get started.
- 4:32We have Katie Cassidy who plays Kelly, Michelle Trachtenberg as
- 4:36Melissa Mary Elizabeth Winstead is Heather, Lacey Chabert is
- 4:41Dana Kristen, quote, quote, as we Andrea Martinez, Miss Mack
- 4:47gnk, Crystal Lowe as Warren. Oliver Hudson is Kyle.
- 4:51Jessica Harmon as Megan. We will serve hasta Square.
- 4:55Robert man is Billy and Dean presses Agnes you.
- 5:01This movie as a budget budget. I figured it had a budget just
- 5:05based on the cast alone. Yeah I don't know how establish
- 5:09these people are in 2006 you know I don't know.
- 5:13I mean some of the big names and Lacey Chabert both like really
- 5:18well-known names, like even outside of the horror genre.
- 5:22But everybody else is pretty well at st.
- 5:24Mary. Elizabeth Winstead is known
- 5:26outside of the horror genre to Ooh, now she's yeah.
- 5:28Well, I think this is kind of her when she was using her as
- 5:31like, a launch pad for her career.
- 5:32Mmm, nothing against her. Yeah, actually chose this movie.
- 5:36She actually did this movie partly.
- 5:38Because she loves the original make sense and you pointed out,
- 5:43which character was from Final Destination 3, okay?
- 5:46So Mary Elizabeth Winstead and oh, I don't remember the
- 5:50actress's name but Lauren because I immediately clocked
- 5:53her, I was like, she looks like one of the Ashley's Unk Crystal.
- 5:56Well, Yeah so a little fun fact for you right here Quinn Morgan
- 6:02wrote Final Destination 3. Oh shit and did part of the
- 6:05screenplay for the original. Oh shit!
- 6:07Yeah so he actually approached Mary Elizabeth in the airport at
- 6:114:00 a.m. with the idea of like wanting her to play a role in
- 6:14this movie and she chose it. She agreed because they have a
- 6:18work history and she likes the original.
- 6:20So he said, hey will you continue to keep bangs to do
- 6:25this movie with me? Yeah, so I don't know, I can't
- 6:29remember when Final Destination 3 came out but that's why I say
- 6:32like, I feel like this is kind of like around the same time.
- 6:34She seems to be doing horror movies around this time.
- 6:37So, yeah. I thought that was kind of cool.
- 6:39And kind of like, no. No.
- 6:41You were talking about Final Destination.
- 6:43This was actually marketed as a final destination movie in
- 6:46Japan. Really?
- 6:48Yeah, I mean, I guess if you saw it, you know, two of the leads.
- 6:51You'd be like oh yeah yeah. But nothing else in this movie
- 6:54plays out like a final destination.
- 6:55I was death is like actually Actually using serial killers,
- 6:59which that would actually be an interesting concept.
- 7:03Yeah, but no, not for this one. Okay.
- 7:06So budget though, I'm gonna say that.
- 7:08Michelle Trachtenberg. She Harriet the Spy Buffy, the
- 7:12Vampire Slayer to huge, huge. Huge TV shows so yeah.
- 7:16Isn't she like kind of minor on Buffy though?
- 7:18No, no, I don't know. You just not there yet.
- 7:22Okay. No.
- 7:24She's like she becomes a major like she's Buffy sister, right?
- 7:29Yeah. I mean she looks like Sarah
- 7:31Michelle Gellar like honestly I like is that fucking.
- 7:34And then, you know, that's like, oh that's on her second thought.
- 7:39It was Sarah, Michelle Gellar, this movie's budget was 9
- 7:42million, which I think for horror that's budget material.
- 7:46Yeah, that's right. On the borderline between what
- 7:49I'd call Budget and bucked at 4 2006.
- 7:52Warrior is like Only whoa, though.
- 7:55So that's good for horror movies, especially one that
- 7:58doesn't have. Like, you know, it looks like
- 8:00mostly practical effects were using mostly practical effects.
- 8:05They really took advantage of a single location to.
- 8:08Yeah. You know, I think, I think, you
- 8:12know, a lot of movie is, if they want to do a single location,
- 8:16Christmastime works really well because like, you have the whole
- 8:19storm Factor. Yeah.
- 8:20So he's really in there. Yeah.
- 8:23And I would be so funny to do it like in Kentucky think about the
- 8:26foot of snow we had on Christmas last year and then you just got
- 8:30like a bunch of like Southerners been like all right everybody
- 8:36get your four by fours. We're going to put some shit on
- 8:38front of our trucks. We're going to play this thing
- 8:40out and yeah. When you got like a Yeti or
- 8:42something, coming attacking everybody, Hollywood make it
- 8:46happen. You should write the script.
- 8:48Dude I just did. Yeah.
- 8:51Pretty much you eat it all out right there.
- 8:53It's got Get back. It's like that.
- 8:55I'm the brother-in-law on campus but like everybody in the movies
- 8:59like that I can dig it. So this movie it grows 16
- 9:05million in the United States. We know it made backups budget
- 9:09sort of nine. It sounds like it made back its
- 9:11budget but it has to get like what was it?
- 9:14That we were told like three times its budget to really turn
- 9:17a profit. It got Quest worldwide's 21
- 9:20million so it's closer. But it kind of failed
- 9:27financially and critically, which inspired Bob Clark, the
- 9:32original director of the black Christmas, 1974 version to start
- 9:39working on it like a legit sequel to the original movie.
- 9:43And he started writing up. He was even like gathered
- 9:47original cast members to make a return and he died and he died.
- 9:58So, it stopped right there. And that's kind of sad be Bob.
- 10:04I'm sorry, I'm not laughing that he's dead, I'm more like Which
- 10:10are, you know, it would have been cool to see the kids and
- 10:12this guy he's a, I mean, he's got good directing chops, he did
- 10:17Christmas Story, you know. Yeah which is like I like to use
- 10:20that. I tried to get my nana to watch.
- 10:22The original was like I got a Christmas movie made by the guy
- 10:25that did Christmas Story. watch a movie that has the Yeah, I
- 10:33realize that after we were really watching it last night.
- 10:37This isn't Gonna Fly. Look, maybe some people bananas.
- 10:41Can do that. Your nana?
- 10:42No, no, she is not the nana, she's not.
- 10:46So, yeah, that's that's pretty much it as far as facts.
- 10:50And if you haven't seen this movie I will say I personally
- 10:54recommend seeing it. I like all three black
- 10:57Christmases and existence for very different reasons.
- 11:00This is currently on to be be as of the time that we are
- 11:04recording this and to be is completely free, go take
- 11:08advantage of to be it's amazing and apparently they like
- 11:12actually get more money to the movie creators than any other
- 11:15streaming service. So which I think is funny
- 11:17because it's a free service so make sense.
- 11:20Yep. Okay.
- 11:23So are we ready to go into ratings and reviews?
- 11:28I don't think. Okay.
- 11:29So this is a weird one where we don't necessarily Have like, let
- 11:33me be the naysayer since I'm the one that loves the original
- 11:37movie, okay? This one has like a bigger shoes
- 11:39to fill for me. Yes.
- 11:41Okay, that's it. That's a fair perspective to
- 11:42take. Like I said, I am able to
- 11:45compartmentalize these three movies.
- 11:47I do not think of them really as the same movie.
- 11:52Yeah, that's fair. So they're all family.
- 11:56The original movie is one of my favorite slashers ever, like, I
- 12:00watched this back. Before you.
- 12:02And I ever met whenever I like, I was at home and I was using
- 12:06like, the OG Netflix, I would get the DVD disc.
- 12:10Yeah, so I got the disc sent to me, watch it in my bedroom, all
- 12:13by myself, when Christmas, and that shit was tight.
- 12:16I just had this conversation with my sister earlier because I
- 12:19sent her a Snapchat. We so we've had a day, my car
- 12:23needed an oil change. And so we went to Walmart
- 12:26because it's cheap and they're not buttholes about things,
- 12:30sorry, I've had bad luck with other Is trying to upsell me on
- 12:33services that I do not need. But so we went to Walmart and
- 12:38we're like, okay, we're going to go around.
- 12:39Do some Home Improvement shopping.
- 12:41We had to fix our mailbox, that was a whole thing.
- 12:43We're both covered in dirt and smell bad right now.
- 12:47Just a peek behind the curtain of our recruiting process paint
- 12:50in there. I guess who.
- 12:54So you know, we're just hanging out waiting for my car to get
- 12:56finished. We go through the electronic
- 12:58section and Now That's What I Call Music. 79.
- 13:04So where this is going. So I didn't expect this in.
- 13:07It was in CD form and I sent a picture of it to my older sister
- 13:12because I was just like, holy shit, we're up to number 79.
- 13:15She was like, they still make CDs.
- 13:19Yeah, dude, some of us don't have, you know, I still have a
- 13:23team player. Travis's car is as old as the
- 13:27movie we are talking about thousands.
- 13:29It's that's right. Anyways.
- 13:32Review for this movie. Thanks for hijacking.
- 13:35It so, yeah, like I was saying the original wins.
- 13:41One of my favorite movies, it's like, I know people like to say,
- 13:44it's one of the OG slashers it kind of is, we were like
- 13:49watching the Joe Bob version of the last night and he pointed
- 13:51out Texas Chainsaw, which I always start to like that's the
- 13:54first washer for me. It's also one of his favorites.
- 13:58It is yes. What guess what a sub-genre of
- 14:00core Travis loves I like so Slashers OK.
- 14:04Again, last week you got mad at me for not talking enough I
- 14:09know, but I'm back up your fucking mind.
- 14:13Okay, hold on, I just get back and forth but okay.
- 14:21I like the train. This was its off the tracks now.
- 14:33Chainsaw slasher. You agree.
- 14:35I like this movie. I liked this movie.
- 14:37It's very Innovative. It has a lot of good stuff going
- 14:40for it. And this movie has a lot of the
- 14:43Remake as what it's like to live up to.
- 14:46Because the first one did such a great job and it's so creepy and
- 14:50the Killer is so good and the scares are good, the characters
- 14:53are great, everything is about, it's amazing.
- 14:56This one is, I like that. It tries to be it's Sonne thing.
- 15:04But it also pays homage to the original.
- 15:09Like, you get the first person shots and you get the phone
- 15:13calls. You get?
- 15:16Yes, the Unicorn. Yeah, you get the Unicorn.
- 15:19The Unicorn is very important. I feel like they overdo the
- 15:21unicorn in this one because it comes up so many times
- 15:23throughout the movie comes out twice.
- 15:26No, it doesn't comes on morning. The, I feel like I saw him more
- 15:29than that in this movie because we watch deleted scenes and
- 15:32Alternate endings, maybe I don't know.
- 15:34Either way it does a good job. I think.
- 15:38But overall I feel like it's it's a weaker version of it.
- 15:44Like I don't know. It doesn't live up to the
- 15:46original for me but on its own. I think it's a nice Christmas
- 15:49slasher. We will just like a slasher in
- 15:52general, you know, like I also think that it's interesting that
- 15:57instead of Billy doing most of the stuff, it's actually Agnes
- 16:00doing a lot of it. Each.
- 16:02That's like a nice way to like make it your own like, you know,
- 16:05I don't do whatever. He makes one of like, take like
- 16:08a b4b remake of the original events and try and like a dyke a
- 16:14modern Flair to it which I mean, I guess that's okay, but it just
- 16:18ends up feeling very boxed. Yeah, it's yeah, it's just I
- 16:22don't know, it was just a little bit and I appreciate them trying
- 16:26to make it different enough. That way you have like the two
- 16:28different versions. I feel like whenever we watch
- 16:32the Original immediately after this, like we were still
- 16:34watching a different movie, you know.
- 16:36Like it doesn't feel like I'm re-watching the same thing.
- 16:38So, yeah, I think that I would, I will rate this I give it about
- 16:46a six. That's honestly, I know that you
- 16:51enjoyed the movie but I also know where is I can have that
- 16:55separation between the two? I know it's a little bit harder
- 16:58for you and I think a big part of it for me, is that I saw this
- 17:02version first. I maintain that.
- 17:05We watch it together. I know for sure, we watched it
- 17:07together. I know you don't believe me, but
- 17:09it happened. And I also know that I watched
- 17:13it back in the day. So I have this memory of it.
- 17:20I don't know when it was that I saw the original black
- 17:23Christmas. I want to say.
- 17:24It was like, the Joe Bob special last?
- 17:26Yeah. I think you're rushing it for
- 17:27the first time with you. Yeah.
- 17:29So and it's not. It was just, I never knew that
- 17:31it was a remake. Hey, you didn't I didn't.
- 17:34So I just saw it as like cool. It's a sorority house.
- 17:40Christmas-themed stalkers / or person lives in the walls.
- 17:46Movie for me with a cast that I know and love.
- 17:50So it for me, it's just it's just a fun movie.
- 17:54And I like the Dynamics that they're all, you know, kind of
- 17:59have like that family estrangement and a little bit of
- 18:02bitterness towards Christmas because, hey, I have some issues
- 18:06at the holiday season myself that I'm working through doing.
- 18:10Well, in that front, I think, yes, I even Holly and somewhat
- 18:16Jolly you just year. Yeah, I got Travis an advent
- 18:20calendar. Yes.
- 18:23So yeah. Yeah, I like I kind of like that
- 18:26aspect of it. The little found family aspect
- 18:28that they have going on with it. It doesn't feel like it, relies
- 18:32on it, bunch of stereotypes for the sorority women, you know,
- 18:39that feel like they could have played up a lot of different
- 18:42morning - things than, you know, the way a lot of maybes tend to,
- 18:47you know, what I mean, they could have like, stereotyped
- 18:49each girl, but instead like they feel like, you know, you get to
- 18:52know the characters a little bit.
- 18:54It is a fairly large ensemble cast, but you get a sense for
- 18:58who everybody is. It feels very of the times, just
- 19:03with some of the language again, I always have to call that out
- 19:07and the ringtones on the cell phones.
- 19:10Yeah, that's all. Phones are like a blast from the
- 19:12past. Who's that Kelly has the razor?
- 19:17That's my bags. A good ringer.
- 19:19Yeah, I do not have the razor. I had the European version
- 19:22called the Riser and it Like slides up instead of being a
- 19:26flip phone but yeah I just have a lot of fun with this movie.
- 19:31It's not anything like super Innovative but like it's
- 19:34enjoyable throughout you know I think it's well done.
- 19:37Like you said it looks like the effects are mostly practical.
- 19:41Yeah, I think so the facts are really good in this.
- 19:42Yeah it's got some really gnarly kills it's got some good tense
- 19:47moments and like you know you've got major ich and creepy factors
- 19:53and your Original and the cat. It can creepy factors in this
- 19:59one, but kind of made it their own, you know, because in the
- 20:01first one, like you've got the harassing phone calls that are
- 20:06coming in, it could be kick. And then, the creep Factor comes
- 20:10at the end where you find out, oh, the calls are coming from
- 20:12inside the hose and this one, like the It Factor comes from
- 20:18Agnes as the product of incest. And we see too much of how that
- 20:24comes about in flashbacks, big big dick and then we have the
- 20:29creepy factor that Agnes is just like living in the walls the
- 20:33whole time. Again that's really creepy to
- 20:35think about and then especially like one of the alternate
- 20:39endings we watched where he winds up in the walls of the
- 20:42hospital. Yeah like that's creepy to me to
- 20:44think about. So I overall I really enjoyed
- 20:48this movie I'm gonna give it a seven.
- 20:50Okay. So We're starting off with an
- 20:52average of six and a half, and I think that is I think that's a
- 20:55respectable starting, never think so too.
- 20:57Yeah. So are we ready to get into it?
- 21:01All right, we start off with a shot with the Delta, Alpha Kappa
- 21:06house and the closed captions. Let us know that robust jazz
- 21:12music is playing I don't think I've ever described jazz music
- 21:18as robust but you know whatever they had their fun with it.
- 21:22Yeah that's fine. We see a girl drinking in her
- 21:29room. She's sitting on the floor of a
- 21:30room wrapping presents relatable.
- 21:32That's gonna be me later tonight because I don't know how much
- 21:36wrapping paper we have. So I gotta try and use it all up
- 21:39before I go and get more. She is using a fountain pen with
- 21:43red ink. Love the style love Claire.
- 21:46There she is like writing a little note to lie, somebody
- 21:53named Lee, she hears a sound in her closet.
- 21:57She goes to investigate but she sees nothing.
- 21:59So she goes to sit back down and then a plastic bag suddenly
- 22:03shoved over her head, and she's dead.
- 22:05Then we get a title card Black Christmas?
- 22:09Yes. So, this was I, we're trying to
- 22:11sing it as last Christmas in my head like since last night I've
- 22:15been going, but so this is Claire and this is right away.
- 22:21We get a homage to one of the better killers in the original
- 22:24movie which was also clear in that movie getting killed to
- 22:29this movie, kind of repeats some names, but also make some of
- 22:32them different. There's yeah, we, we started to
- 22:34watch the original after this. It had been a really long day
- 22:37and we ended up falling asleep part way through.
- 22:40So, who knows what we'll be doing with the rest of the night
- 22:42tonight? Yeah, but like, the whole
- 22:44plastic bag over the head thing. I don't think that's exactly.
- 22:48Is that how it happens in the original?
- 22:49I can't remember. I think that he takes like the
- 22:51cellophane from one of the bags in there because she has like
- 22:55the cellophane bags. Yeah, it's like yeah, it's like
- 22:57a dry-cleaning coat and yeah, it over her face and so she's
- 23:01exactly. Yeah.
- 23:03But that's when you get somebody in the closet you get the like
- 23:08the thing in the closet. But then you also get a shot of
- 23:11like somebody hiding under the bed and stole the pin.
- 23:14So they also stabbed her in the eye II.
- 23:16Yeah. Eyes are a big thing in this
- 23:18movie. Yeah.
- 23:19So we go to Clark sanitarium. Tech is handing out Christmas
- 23:25dinner? There is a door that gets wedged
- 23:29open with a milk carton. There's one guy that is very
- 23:35religiously preoccupied, so when the guy drops off the dinner to
- 23:38him is like happy birthday instead of Merry Christmas.
- 23:42Let's see there in walks of Santa Claus.
- 23:45Who says, He's lost which seems suspicious to me.
- 23:48I was immediately suspicious of this Santa I'm just I don't know
- 23:53why he ended up not being like suspicious in a killer way, just
- 23:57in a skeezy way. Yeah, he's a sleazy Santa yes.
- 24:02Hitting on the staff. They're pretty much, but yeah,
- 24:06it's kind of weird. I don't understand what he's
- 24:07doing. I think because he wanders up
- 24:09use, oh man, I'm lost. Oh hey I thought Billy Lenz was
- 24:13dead. So it's like almost like
- 24:14somebody. Dared him to see if Billy Lenz
- 24:17was released on the sanitarium. Yeah, maybe.
- 24:21So I think that's, that's what was happening.
- 24:23But yeah, it really all this is, is it serves to give us X
- 24:28position the guard, you know, talks about how Billy Lenz tries
- 24:33to escape on Christmas each year.
- 24:36Oh heavy foreshadowing, that everybody thinks that he's dead.
- 24:40He's really not. He's been there since he killed
- 24:43his family. They give him chicken.
- 24:46They imply that he ate his mom. He is very much a cannibal will
- 24:50see that. At in flashbacks.
- 24:52So he's also got some kind of disorder that has like his skin
- 24:57pigmented yellow, liver disorder, jaundice.
- 25:02Yeah. So this is an interesting Ada's.
- 25:06It's an interesting decision that they have here because they
- 25:09this one shows a lot of you see a lot of Billy and you see a lot
- 25:12of Agnes in the original, you don't really see him.
- 25:15Yeah, I'm kind of, like, of the mind of like, with this one,
- 25:20it's better not to see, you know, to me, I just wish they
- 25:26had gotten somebody that looks different more different from
- 25:30the actor that plays Kyle because of the end.
- 25:33When we see Billy has face like peeking over out for Miles,
- 25:37like, is Kyle still alive. I don't think it was that much
- 25:39like them. Well, I'm also bad with faces so
- 25:42it may just be me. Yeah, my been my family proud.
- 25:45Um, yeah. So we see Kelly making out with
- 25:53Kyle in a car as their first Christmas as a couple he wants
- 25:57to spend it together but she's like, oh, I need to be with my
- 25:59sister's. I never had a big family, I want
- 26:02to, you know, have like this found family moment.
- 26:05I respect that she said that boundary and didn't let this
- 26:07loser. Rule her life and he is a loser.
- 26:12We are not a fan of Kyle in this.
- 26:16So he is though, he plays the Dad in Scream, Queens.
- 26:21Because as soon as I saw his face and heard his voice, I was
- 26:23like, oh, Travis meeting of pause the movie because I need
- 26:25a, I need to figure out who this fucking guy is, it's going to
- 26:27drive me nuts. I did not realize he was going
- 26:28to be in the movie as much as he was.
- 26:31I thought he was just going to be like a character that died
- 26:33very quickly. So, he's like, first onscreen
- 26:35for 30 seconds. I was like, this is gonna bother
- 26:37me for the whole rest of the movie, Just pause it.
- 26:38Now I'm going to look it up on IMDb if I'd known, he was going
- 26:42to be on screen for like 10 solid minutes.
- 26:44I would I figured it out but yeah so that's that's where I
- 26:49know him from. He plays kind of creepy dad
- 26:53that. So you know stick sticking to
- 26:56his character type genus is real as soon as she goes inside, we
- 27:02see him calling Megan, another sister of the Delta Alpha Kappa
- 27:08sorority, they call themselves Alpha Kappa.
- 27:10So I'm just going to like switch that, you know, we don't really
- 27:13know what the calls about though because this is a Tracking shot
- 27:15of from outside the house. You're getting a view of all,
- 27:18like from all the windows and kind of seeing why it happened.
- 27:21Yeah. And house.
- 27:23You see, Megan very upset and throwing her cell phone.
- 27:26So, yeah. So clearly he has said, and, or
- 27:30done something that really upset her.
- 27:32Yeah. Hmm wonder if we'll find out.
- 27:38So, all of the girls in the sorority basically laughed,
- 27:41except for the handful that are left here.
- 27:45For whatever reason, either, they haven't been able to go
- 27:47home yet. A lot of them have like
- 27:49strained, family relationships. So, they're doing like a secret
- 27:52Santa gift exchange. They have a tradition where they
- 27:55have to leave on for Billy, which listen, I'm all for weird.
- 28:00Traditions, this is a little bit fucked up because Billy was like
- 28:05an actual human being who actually was abused.
- 28:09And then well, yeah, they don't know that he's still alive there
- 28:13but everybody liked was Aware at this point know, everybody
- 28:16thinks that he's dead. Yeah, that's why.
- 28:18The Santa was like, we thought he was did so It just to me,
- 28:25it's weird. It's not like, oh, we're gonna
- 28:28leave a present for the goblin under the stairs.
- 28:31So here's a murder at like, that's like stupid, but funny,
- 28:34although I do appreciate that they end up having this
- 28:37argument, like, why are we having this stupid Pig?
- 28:39Introduce you and blah, blah blah, and in our living room, I
- 28:42was like well technically the way we celebrate Christmas as is
- 28:46rooted in Pagan traditions and then one of the character goes,
- 28:49oh, so here's the root of this Pagan tradition, the root of
- 28:52this Peg, Tradition, the root of this Pagan tradition.
- 28:55I know people have their religious roots to the holiday
- 28:59and that is great and that is fine but historically there is a
- 29:03lot of like non religious aspects to Christmas as we know
- 29:06it. So yeah it's kind of becoming
- 29:08something at yeah. Yeah, it's it's own thing now.
- 29:11There's room for both, however, you need to celebrate your
- 29:14holiday. So the person that's doing that,
- 29:16by the way, is Warren who plays this movie's version of Barb,
- 29:20who was the alcoholic from the original movie.
- 29:22Yes. so, I think she Is less of a room stopper crude humor than
- 29:32Barb was though because I think it's like a modern.
- 29:35Take on it. Yeah.
- 29:36But very much it's very similar if it's similar but Barb like
- 29:42pushed it a little bit too far because it wasn't just around.
- 29:47You know her sister is it was around like other people too and
- 29:51they're like jeez, you're making are very uncomfortable bar may
- 29:54be fair. We don't get that opportunity
- 29:56with Warren here because they say strictly within the house
- 29:59here. No, I'm just saying like it.
- 30:01I think it works out better. Yeah, it makes her more like
- 30:04sympathetic character, right? Okay.
- 30:07The only other note, I have in this moment is that I can't
- 30:12handle the fact that I'm watching Dawn Summers drinking
- 30:14wine, it just it Because Don Sommers is drinking wine.
- 30:19I don't understand why that's a big deal.
- 30:23I can't, I can't. Is that really a big spoiler to
- 30:25tell me why? Drinking alcohol is a big deal
- 30:27for character. It is alcohol and important,
- 30:31important factor in Buffy later, so it's just you don't really
- 30:33understand Dawn Summers. Yeah.
- 30:35She's a, she's young right? Yeah, is that it?
- 30:37Yeah, I know, she's for a little sister, dude.
- 30:39I don't know. I completely blind about like
- 30:41all the things Buffy, okay. So then why is it weird to you
- 30:44that I would I don't know why is that?
- 30:47I don't know. It's just not weird for me.
- 30:48Too young in the show, like, she's a teenager.
- 30:52Does she look the exact same here?
- 30:54I mean, yeah. She's a very young looking
- 30:57person kind of, but she definitely.
- 30:59Looks like, I'm just used to freshman in high school, Dom
- 31:02Summers. Okay, that's where I'm at.
- 31:05Okay? She's mature, it's weird.
- 31:08I feel uncomfortable with it. Okay, well, let's move.
- 31:11Okay, I'll respect it. Okay, all right.
- 31:13Well, we're cutting back to Clark sanitarium here.
- 31:16Because Billy is masterminding his own Escape here.
- 31:19Yes, he sets a little present through the slot and his door.
- 31:24It doesn't fucking guard. Just Falls for it.
- 31:27Yeah. Why do you even have to open up
- 31:29the fro? You gave us the exposition 20
- 31:32minutes ago. You said he tries to escape
- 31:35every year so, um, so we get like a little shy of Billy in
- 31:41there. He's eating a candy cane and he
- 31:43like, pulls out his mouth, he's fashioned it into a little
- 31:45while. A shank.
- 31:47So he's ready to take out the guard.
- 31:50He's also removed what I think is like a radiator from his wall
- 31:54and makes it look like he's like, Doug of way out, like
- 31:57escape and kind of get out there there, which that might have
- 32:00been why the guard goes in there.
- 32:02I'm not entirely sure. I don't know if you noticed that
- 32:04beforehand, but anyways, yeah, he thinks that Billy has
- 32:07escaped. That way Billy though has
- 32:10actually hid under the bed and he gets out and then boom stabs
- 32:15the guy. I guarantee they have some sort
- 32:18of other part, you know, it's just like an other horror movies
- 32:21where you see a cop and you're like, you need to be calling for
- 32:23backup right now, but he doesn't call for backup.
- 32:25I guarantee Clark has a protocol where if a prisoner escapes your
- 32:32supposed to alert more staff? Yeah, I'm sure.
- 32:35Yeah. I mean, it makes sense,
- 32:37especially if they've like Escape through the walls, like,
- 32:39get everybody on the perimeter. Yeah, I don't like the spotlight
- 32:42that we can catch him. He freezes.
- 32:44And they probably have to alert the local Authorities.
- 32:46Because I'm assuming that this is a criminal Hospital.
- 32:50Yeah. I mean yeah.
- 32:52Probably, I can't. I mean, they're there in like
- 32:56cells, you know, it's true. It's like solitary confinement.
- 32:59Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 33:01So it's a pretty brutal Kill Ya. One of the girls in this like
- 33:07really surprised me a lot of them are kind of off screen.
- 33:09This one kind of was because you just get like blood splatter but
- 33:12like the amount of blood that splatters out of these skills is
- 33:15kind of Then I got any time. I see like I'm usually
- 33:18disappointed with off-screen kills but whenever I guess he
- 33:22like that excessive amount of blood on my holy shit.
- 33:25What did he do? Feels very violent.
- 33:27Yeah, even not being on screen. It feels very violent.
- 33:29Yeah, it's pretty good. It's a good way to do it.
- 33:32So we go back to Alpha Kappa house.
- 33:34They are a couple of the girls are pounding on Megan's door,
- 33:38trying to wake her up inside. We see that she's awake and
- 33:43she's on the internet where Kyle As fucking revenge porn her we
- 33:48suspect it's not confirmed but I mean based off of the
- 33:51conversation it's pretty much like I'm think that's kind of
- 33:55what they're going for here. Yeah I mean it's very heavily
- 33:58implied and kiled Kyle's not a nice guy.
- 34:01He is a fucking douche pianist of those movie.
- 34:06Yeah. Kind of yeah it's kind of
- 34:09scared. Yeah.
- 34:10I think that's that's the role. He's meant to be forever Ira
- 34:13first. When we were watching this
- 34:15though, I just thought that when they were banging on her door, I
- 34:18thought she was just like, no, I'm fun Christmas and then she's
- 34:20just like watching porn. She just thought she just wanted
- 34:23to like, be like that, like person, just like stays in her
- 34:25room watching porn, you know, that the women play with,
- 34:28anybody just wants to watch porn all day.
- 34:32You know, I'm sure there are plenty of people to do that.
- 34:35Oh, well, she's crying and upset.
- 34:38She hears a sound, and that attic and goes to investigate
- 34:42who goes to investigate a sound in the Attic.
- 34:44Because, like, for me, I'm like Sam And in the Attic.
- 34:46Hmm. I mean maybe it's a small
- 34:49creatures, should probably call Pest Control.
- 34:51You know what I mean? Like who goes to actually
- 34:53investigate because she goes up there and you know, I happens,
- 34:58she discovers a body equator she gets got.
- 35:01Yeah, and this is another call back to the original with Claire
- 35:04sitting at the window sill and the rocking chair with a bag of
- 35:06her face. It's kind of like the poster
- 35:08from the original 12, but just like a rocking back and forth.
- 35:11Yeah, it's really cool. We go back to Clark.
- 35:16Santa is very horny. Okay, so here's my entire note
- 35:19for this team. Clark Santa horny suddenly blood
- 35:25body and dumpster because that is how it feels like.
- 35:29So we see horny Santa and then all of a sudden there's just a
- 35:33huge amount of blood and we're like wait, did we miss
- 35:35something? Yeah, that's one of the ones I
- 35:37was talking about where there's so much blood as like what the
- 35:39fuck just happened? Like, I don't know.
- 35:42It's kind of cool. Really saying it only served as
- 35:45a way for Billy to escape. That's the reason he's there as
- 35:48a character in this movie. Yeah.
- 35:50I kind of thing. It's kind of lazy script
- 35:52writing. Yeah, he gave us Exposition he
- 35:54gave us an escape, give us a reason for sanity to be there.
- 35:57Not just have like a saint, a Roman, the hospital.
- 35:59Ho ho, what's up? Hey, where am I?
- 36:02Always, look fucks Billy and then drops it.
- 36:20The window into the dumpster and he's on his way.
- 36:23And then he's on his way home. We see that the tradition is to
- 36:28open the Billy present first, but Heather played by Mary
- 36:33Elizabeth Winstead. She she drooped Billy's name,
- 36:37but didn't want to do it because she doesn't like that tradition.
- 36:40I can't get it. Like I said, it feels like
- 36:43disrespectful to the people that Billy killed and also
- 36:45disrespectful to Billy himself, because he's a killer not
- 36:49excusing him being killed. Like being a killer but also
- 36:52like he was abused. So cool.
- 36:55I kind of get her point for it and then that's where, you know,
- 36:58Ashley points out all of the different.
- 37:01Yeah. It's the the house moment about
- 37:04the tradition Miss Mack here, that's trying to get everybody.
- 37:06She's trying to find Billy's present.
- 37:08So she's the one that's like really trying to keep the
- 37:10tradition going. Yeah, we get a flashback to
- 37:14Billy's traumatic. Childhood it, his dad kind of
- 37:18tries his dad's a good guy, so. Starts back to 1970, where we
- 37:23see Billy being born, they the narrator's talking about how the
- 37:28mother didn't really like Billy, whatever.
- 37:31Then we cut to, let's see what year was, it's 1975.
- 37:36And it's like one of his Christmases.
- 37:39The moms just kind of like shitting on building.
- 37:40Like telling him like there's nothing there for you.
- 37:42Hate you. No presents.
- 37:44Yeah, die. And then the dads, like, hey
- 37:47buddy, I hit a present for you in the Attic sneaky.
- 37:50He's like, he whispers he's like just go up there and like yeah,
- 37:53I got something for you. If they're just don't worry
- 37:55about it. Yeah.
- 37:55And then he's like, hey could you maybe be nicer to our sun?
- 38:03Will let me have full custody instead of you and your
- 38:06boyfriend who's also really inappropriate around?
- 38:09Yeah, so what happens is it's all off screen.
- 38:12So we're up there with Billy, he's up there in the Attic.
- 38:14He's found like a little secret hole in the wall, where his dad
- 38:19We can see at all. Sorry, that was good, but he's
- 38:26got his present there, it's like wrapped in newspaper and yeah,
- 38:30so Jesse's now doing the, I think I'm here right now, so
- 38:34many shots in this movie of just like a high.
- 38:37We were, yeah, we were doing a drinking game.
- 38:38When we were watching it, one of the rules is whenever there's an
- 38:41eye like a single. I you drink.
- 38:43There's so many of those so many has a lot to do, they do?
- 38:48Yeah. Two cannibals.
- 38:49Yeah. Because obviously, that was like
- 38:51the thing in, like, the early 2000s, like, listen, you work a
- 38:54Noble's. Please.
- 38:55Let us know our eyes true delicacy, maybe that'll be the
- 38:58pole you accountable. But I think what happens here
- 39:04with with the dad is the boyfriend comes over and I think
- 39:11it's like a set I set up because the guys I know you're going to
- 39:14fucking leave me for this guy. And all of a sudden a By breaks
- 39:19out and Billy is kind of like, oh no, he's okay.
- 39:22Type of guy that can navigate through the walls.
- 39:25I guess he's been doing that a lot as a kid, he gets down there
- 39:30and you can see what's going on. And all of a sudden, you see
- 39:32like his dad's face hit the ground, he's like hiding
- 39:36underneath like a couch ish type thing.
- 39:39So he's like really protected and then just get to see this
- 39:43dude just like take a hammer and just beat the shit out of that.
- 39:46It's so fucking. Yeah.
- 39:48It's crazy and they bury him in the crawlspace.
- 39:54Yeah, house. And while they're down there,
- 39:58just go faster. They looked like us fucking with
- 40:01our mailbox earlier because they're using like a little hand
- 40:04trowel. Like it's not a real fish is
- 40:06hard to do. Yeah, it is.
- 40:08And they hear a sound in the book.
- 40:11It's got it. They see Billy.
- 40:13Yeah. So that's where the flash
- 40:16meccans. Present day phone, rings.
- 40:18Yes and it's just a heavy breathing, then some word salad
- 40:23about Billy Agnes, how skilled and the caller ID says that it's
- 40:29Claire's sell side note. I hate the way they spell
- 40:32Claire. Claire needs an e at the end of
- 40:34this house built in the original to.
- 40:36Yeah, it does it bothers me? It bothers me to.
- 40:39I agree. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, right?
- 40:43Like I could not keep I was just, this is one of those
- 40:46movies where I was writing down the actress's name.
- 40:48So I didn't write Mary. I wrote Mew Mew, she says that
- 40:58she's like, no we're not going to provoke this crank caller
- 41:02because I'm feels like tell him to shut the fuck up or what he
- 41:05wants or you know, whatever and she's like no, you don't provoke
- 41:08a crank caller like that and she's cracked.
- 41:09Like if somebody gives you it, I used to do a crisis hotline, a
- 41:16Rape Crisis Hotline, And we would get crank calls like this.
- 41:23And then, you know, when we watch the honestly watching the
- 41:26original right after, it's so much more.
- 41:30Graphic and upsetting. And it's one of those things
- 41:34that it happens, you're like, hey obviously, this is for an
- 41:38official hot live here like this.
- 41:40Not with this line is for, I'm hanging up.
- 41:42Yeah, thank you say that. You say that's a billy like hey,
- 41:45what's all this one is for? Yeah, he's like, yeah.
- 41:47But like yeah, you don't engage with somebody who's doing that.
- 41:50They're going for a reaction but like, especially like I've heard
- 41:55people masturbating on the phone gross.
- 41:58Yeah. It's Not.
- 42:00Okay. So and I realize that, that is
- 42:04something that is, like, you have real experience with and
- 42:07it's disturbing. The phone calls are one of my
- 42:10favorite things of the original movie.
- 42:11And like, I don't mean that to be like, I'm into like the sick
- 42:15shit that he says, I'm just like into like the creep factor that
- 42:18I get from it because the original caller like, under the
- 42:23way that he delivers all of his lines over the phone, they like
- 42:27they kind of go into detail. Like I think the I think was
- 42:30like talking about how they did it, they just like had so many
- 42:32people do all these things because he's imitating so many
- 42:34voices that movie is a very interesting way of providing
- 42:38back story forward character because you never, they never
- 42:41spell anything out about Billy. You have it all.
- 42:43Spelled out from his like incoherent phone calls because
- 42:47he's kind of giving the background of Agnes and, you
- 42:49know, he's imitating his mom and dad, what did you do with Agnes?
- 42:53And you know, all that type of stuff.
- 42:55This one right here is just like, what was he said, we're
- 42:59all family now Or something like that.
- 43:00Yeah, I just like I said, it feels sadness to in the course
- 43:05of time to. Yeah, it feels.
- 43:06We don't know that yet, but like, I feels very word salad.
- 43:09We kind of, we kind of did, because sometimes said imitating
- 43:13Billy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, it's
- 43:17not, it's not full sentences is jumping around.
- 43:19It feels very disjointed. It doesn't really make sense
- 43:23until you get more of the flashbacks and you can piece
- 43:25that together. So it does do a lot more dummy.
- 43:29I'm down for the audience, went all of these phone calls me and
- 43:32yeah, plus also adding to the runtime because it's only an
- 43:35hour and a half. It's not a super long movie
- 43:39Heather storms off. They're like yeah, run home to
- 43:41your NASCAR Daddy and I'm like I feel like I wanted more of her
- 43:45backstory because I was like wait this is really weird.
- 43:47Yeah it's a NASCAR Daddy mean is he redneck and rich or like is
- 43:52he like just a fucking redneck seem to hate her though.
- 43:58Yeah. She kind of seems to hate all of
- 44:01them. Yeah.
- 44:02So I'm just like I know I wanted more backstory for her.
- 44:07Okay, so then Eve appears she Drew Heather's name.
- 44:12So she gives her the Unicorn. I don't know, like two reasoning
- 44:16for. It's because she I know you like
- 44:19the Bible and stuff. Like what the fuck does a
- 44:21unicorn have to do with the Bible and stuff?
- 44:24You know, did I miss something from that?
- 44:27I went to like church a bunch growing up and out.
- 44:29Don't think there was anything about unicorns in the Bible and
- 44:33stuff? I don't know.
- 44:37Okay, I was just curious. Yeah, so in 1982, we see Mom,
- 44:45trying to fuck her boyfriends. Limp dick on the stair
- 44:48staircase, Landing, I'm looking at my notes here.
- 44:54So, yeah, like they're fucking on the stairs.
- 44:56This is a 1980, is when this is To 1982 whatever.
- 45:04So she like, here's him up in the attic.
- 45:07I know all this from my notes because my notes just says a
- 45:10tits, a dangling because she like walks up to him with her
- 45:15shirt open and like didn't it's are just dangling around. 222
- 45:24thing and that's the scene. Yeah it's a it's bad, it's bad.
- 45:35So she can't get off from her boyfriend.
- 45:37Here is the rocking chair in the Attic.
- 45:39Goes up there and then It's kind of implied.
- 45:44What happens? And then, all doubt is a race
- 45:47because we get a card that says, nine months later.
- 45:50Yeah. And that's when Agnes is born.
- 45:53What's a just straight up? Say, incest, a certain point
- 45:56waiver to. Yeah, they say, I think Kyle
- 45:58does that when he gives the whole Dilly backstory.
- 46:00Yeah. So yeah.
- 46:02It's a it's, It's upsetting it's very upsetting right after this,
- 46:06though, we get a cool homage for me.
- 46:08We get like another. It's like the first person shot
- 46:11outside. So So it's kind of like, the
- 46:13very opening of the original movie, where you get to see him
- 46:17like walking around the outside and he climbs up the side of the
- 46:20house and goes into the attic except this time, it's just like
- 46:23somebody walking around the front and then I think he starts
- 46:26the climb up, the, whatever to accept.
- 46:31I think they hear the noise and then they go and investigate and
- 46:34then they find out. It's fucking Kyle.
- 46:36Yeah. That's so it's not really the
- 46:38same as cow. He went into Megan's room
- 46:39because obviously him and Megan have that little thing going on.
- 46:43And he's trying to erase all evidence of it or talked to her
- 46:47about, I don't know. Yeah, I really don't know what
- 46:50his endgame was but also they get a phone call during all this
- 46:56and it's from Megan's phone. Yeah.
- 46:59So they get the, you know, meanwhile like Clare had drawn
- 47:04Lauren's name and she got her a tea Dance of the sugarplum Fairy
- 47:08music box and Lauren says, I because Lawrence been drinking
- 47:12all day and Gee, I just thought this was a really funny line.
- 47:14Feels like I'm beginning to see those little fuckers.
- 47:17I don't need to hear them too. We see how they're packing
- 47:21trying to leave. That's when we get the sound and
- 47:23they all come running and it turns out Kyle was in Megan's
- 47:26room music. Yeah.
- 47:28No. I was just, you know, I just was
- 47:31trying to get in. I was worried about you all and
- 47:33I Megan's room is the easiest one to get into.
- 47:35Yeah. The other one Clara's was
- 47:36walked. So yeah, very Kelly's or
- 47:40whatever. I don't know.
- 47:41Yeah. And and their Asia is because
- 47:43they just gotten a call from Megan cell phone that was like
- 47:47threats and stuff is the same call from before, pretty much.
- 47:51Yeah. So he said he's there to see
- 47:55Kelly, he's an older man and he's a local.
- 48:00He grew up on the street. He's like calling them out
- 48:02because he's like, saying you guys are like a bunch of like
- 48:05spoiled. Bitches is what he says his
- 48:07words, not mine and they just come and leave every four years
- 48:11or whatever. He grew up there on that street.
- 48:13So he knows the whole history of that house.
- 48:15I mean, okay. What should have happened with
- 48:21the house in his mind? Then should somebody not have
- 48:23bought it? You know what I mean?
- 48:25I agree. The whole Billy present
- 48:27tradition is distasteful but like, yeah, that's what college
- 48:31kids do. Their in a town, for four years
- 48:34and then they leave and if as a local, you're annoyed by it.
- 48:39Yeah, I guess unless I mean, he's like really proud of his
- 48:42Heritage anything or, you know, his location, his hometown.
- 48:46So well, then petition, the local government.
- 48:48Yeah. Join a board.
- 48:49Yeah. What I mean like do not blame
- 48:52these women that you are all so fucking like literally and
- 48:56metaphorically to yeah like I said women.
- 49:01Yeah yeah. So and I'm sure these are not
- 49:04the first to Alphacat. I wonder those had relationships
- 49:08if he's yeah, he's probably like 30 and he's like, still hooking
- 49:12up with these sorority girls. He seems like that type of dude,
- 49:16but he might be like, also, just a little bit pissed off because
- 49:19he Is that the tradition since he is familiar with the sorority
- 49:21and what they do? Yeah, you might be calling him
- 49:24out on the whole Billy thing, which is also Fair.
- 49:26It is fair. And like I said, I agree with
- 49:28that. I just feel like he's got a lot
- 49:30of misplaced anger about them being in the house.
- 49:32Like I said, somebody would have to buy the house and for it to
- 49:35be a sorority house. That's like a whole like
- 49:37Municipal thing. Oh, yeah.
- 49:38I mean like, yeah, we just went through the whole house buying
- 49:41process and they ask, what? Your intention is when you're
- 49:44living in a house if they're buying it for a sorority house.
- 49:47That's more. That's Not residential in the
- 49:50same way that like our houses. You know what I mean.
- 49:52So yeah, like I said petition, your local government vote, take
- 49:58take some action. Yeah, but Kyle really is there
- 50:02to just provide more Exposition. Yay.
- 50:04Another flashback 1991. Yep.
- 50:07Billy is a, he's he watches his mom and Agnes through telescope.
- 50:13That's his Christmas present. He opened it up and in secret
- 50:16telescope. Yeah, he gets a call that says
- 50:19Our mom gets a call that says she's my family now and when Mom
- 50:25comes back from the kitchen because this is 1991 children,
- 50:28the phones used to be on the walls.
- 50:32She comes back from the kitchen and Agnes has gone and Mom and
- 50:37the boyfriend or stepdad or whatever, trying to find her,
- 50:41they know it's Billy. And then when they eventually
- 50:44like find him and Agnes, they see him eating her eyeball.
- 50:49All. So, is it just me or does Billy
- 50:52sound like the PT baby from Petey the little baby?
- 50:57Oh my God, he's such a drag. Yeah, it's kind of like that,
- 51:02right? He sounds exactly like them.
- 51:05Oh my God. Yeah, so yeah.
- 51:09So then he kills the mom and her boyfriend and heater.
- 51:13I know what he does instead is he takes some cookie cutters and
- 51:19He's Agnes's. I yeah, he's Agnes's.
- 51:21I already said that. Oh, right.
- 51:22My bad. Yeah, he, he makes gingerbread
- 51:26skin jerky. I appreciated his dedication to
- 51:31this this dude. Like preheated the oven
- 51:34preheated. That's premeditation there.
- 51:37And he's even got the little gloves on.
- 51:39Yeah. And it takes a long time to make
- 51:41jerky in the oven. Yeah, it takes kiss jerky is
- 51:45like it's a dehydration process. I mean for, so for it to be in
- 51:48the oven, it has to be too. A really high temperature, and
- 51:50has to be in there for like a few hours.
- 51:51He's trying to make Christmas cookies.
- 51:54Yeah. But, I mean, he's making jerky
- 51:55but still like that much. It's kind of at, for Apple.
- 52:01I don't know if that's like the best choice of words here, but I
- 52:05admire his dedication to this. We got so many Christmas cookie
- 52:11patterns over there. I can't wait.
- 52:14We seriously have a whole drawer of them that we haven't used all
- 52:16year. Yeah, I know.
- 52:17It's been a busy year. Yeah.
- 52:19Yeah, we're gonna use that. We're going to use them this
- 52:20week because my niece is all about some some gingerbread
- 52:24cookies. Yeah.
- 52:25So I got to teach her how to cook I guess.
- 52:27Okay, so the cops show up. Clear.
- 52:31Sister shows up. No, I'm saying in the flashback.
- 52:34Yeah, announce where Billy is now.
- 52:36Sorry about to Clark sanitarium, right in the present.
- 52:42Yeah. Kyle says that Agnes lost her
- 52:44eye and she is a product of incest.
- 52:48So when she went to the orphanage, nobody really wanted
- 52:50her sad and nobody knows where she's been since she's just kind
- 52:54of in my. Yep.
- 52:56Claire's just really shows up. She, she was a legacy.
- 53:01But she was like she left before.
- 53:04She graduated like she left this wordy.
- 53:06So yeah. Nobody's buying it either then
- 53:08yeah. I mean like it's one of those
- 53:11things. Like is like how did she leave?
- 53:13Like did she quit the sorority? Did she go?
- 53:15Alum early? We're mentioning I mean clear
- 53:19had mentioned lie. That's who she was writing her?
- 53:22Yeah. They're like, they're like
- 53:23surprised. Like the house that Mom is like,
- 53:25oh like when did you when were you here?
- 53:26Like she's like, oh, around in like 92 93.
- 53:29She's like, oh, I started in 93, I don't Ryu you know like yeah
- 53:33that's like they would be like oh yeah she mentioned that she
- 53:35had a legacy sister but that's not what happens here.
- 53:38Well I mean they they drop it pretty heavy that Claire and her
- 53:42sister aren't super close and they're working on getting
- 53:44closer. Yeah.
- 53:47Lisa. Something about like Oh I
- 53:48thought there was supposed to be some sort of alumni dinner.
- 53:50Is this what it is? Because it's fucking lame and
- 53:52it's got a point. It doesn't look like there was
- 53:56really any kind of a plan and it seems like if there was an
- 53:59alumni dinner that you know, More of the sisters would still
- 54:03be there. Yeah, you know, so, yeah.
- 54:05So it's just, I don't know. It's a little weird.
- 54:07She sees that there's the present from Billy under the
- 54:11tree, and she's like, oh so we're still doing this then
- 54:14which Is extra fucked up because if she was there 92 93, that's
- 54:22like a year or two after Billy was arrested.
- 54:26Yeah. It's like, hey, they started
- 54:28that tradition immediately. How soon did they buy this
- 54:31house? Well, I imagine it's one of
- 54:33those ones where, like, there's like a lot of fucked up shit.
- 54:35That went down here, like we're giving this house away, but
- 54:37yeah, thousand dollars, sure, we'll take it because nobody is
- 54:41gonna buy this. Exactly.
- 54:43So, it worked out. Yeah, it's a Yeah, so I went and
- 54:48I did not do that math last night, that was me.
- 54:50Sitting here going, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, ball
- 54:54went on. Yeah.
- 54:55So that is an already distasteful tradition.
- 54:59It definitely started off as somebody's idea of a sick
- 55:01fucking joke. And what's interesting though,
- 55:04is they get the wrapping exactly the way that Billy is gift was
- 55:09wrapped which is in the newspaper, which is interesting.
- 55:12Well actually that's why is that interesting?
- 55:14Because that it's not then that put that there.
- 55:17I'm stupid. Yeah so somebody planted it and
- 55:20obviously it's yeah - so we learned that Lee is 12 years
- 55:26older than Claire so that's another big part of the reason
- 55:29for their quasi estrangement. But yeah the the present that's
- 55:34their it hadn't been there before it's a creepy ass doll.
- 55:37And the newspaper that's wrapped in is the same newspaper that
- 55:42Eve's Gift to Heather was wrapped in.
- 55:45That's what same about it though.
- 55:47The also like it has like the newspaper rapping though to
- 55:50right? It's a newspaper from 1991,
- 55:52right? That's how.
- 55:53Yeah, that's how Billy's was wrapped.
- 55:54That's how I don't remember that.
- 55:58It wouldn't have been a satellite box.
- 56:00A better newspaper from 1991. It's in the satellite box.
- 56:03Like the present. The Billy got from his dad too.
- 56:06Yeah, but that was in the 70s. So, yeah, but I mean it's just
- 56:10like the same thing. They're replicating.
- 56:12Present kind of amp. So yeah, they decide that
- 56:16they're going to go look through Eve's room because Eve is
- 56:19actually, in Billy's old room and they're like, what if she's
- 56:22like obsessed with him? It is replicating, the murders.
- 56:24And I don't like, well, she did leave early Kelly and Kyle are
- 56:30in Megan's room looking around and the power has gone off at
- 56:34this point. So spooky beforehand, also cows
- 56:39snuck in there to try and get rid of either.
- 56:42Talk to Megan, or I get rid of like anything that is
- 56:45incriminating for him. Did he not see on her computer
- 56:49screen like the webpage of their sex tape?
- 56:52What would it up right there? Like, why not?
- 56:54Just close the laptop? I don't know.
- 56:57I thought that would have been the smarter Choice.
- 56:59Yeah, so instead, so that he just tries to keep Kelly from
- 57:02seeing the laptop screen until it goes idle.
- 57:06And then when the power goes out because it's plugged in all of a
- 57:10sudden, it gets an alert like, oh, your battery's, Die in 10
- 57:13minutes and then that wakes up the screen.
- 57:16So she sees the sex tape that's a smart way to do that too.
- 57:19It is, that is kind of like, I firmly believe Kyle's, just
- 57:23stupid and didn't close the laptop like, oh yeah.
- 57:27Yeah, definitely. But yeah.
- 57:29So, she's like, you need to get out.
- 57:32And he's like, what, no, let's talk about it and then everybody
- 57:34else comes in there. Like Kyle get out, we hate you
- 57:36anyway, leave that, we're all so excited to kick him out.
- 57:40It's like, girl the snow like to get this soldiers.
- 57:42Yeah, yeah, we see Lauren throw up, she's passed out and she's
- 57:51so drunk. She's not in a good place,
- 57:54Melissa helps her out. She's like, this is a really
- 57:57sweet scene between the two of them like she takes her
- 57:59upstairs. She's like, she's like, it's
- 58:02okay, it's okay. Like, you get the impression
- 58:06that they're really close and she says you're a better system
- 58:09than my actual sis to me. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:11It's kind of We moment. So she's just like helping her
- 58:15and she was like, listen, it's okay but you're really stinky.
- 58:18So you need to take a shower. So all orange showering, the
- 58:24quickest shower, ever. Oh my God.
- 58:26She just turns on the water. It's like, it feels like almost
- 58:29an excuse to just like, hey, here's some tits.
- 58:32And that's basically a but also we get to see Billy is watching
- 58:36from the floor which that's not a realistic angle to be spying
- 58:40on anybody in the shower, he's gonna be looking at this.
- 58:42Ceilings. Okay, with all of these tiles
- 58:45just popping off the floor. I don't time dude, they're
- 58:48college kids and this isn't their permanent home.
- 58:50This is like a temporary home for like a year or two you know.
- 58:53Like they're just going to be whatever.
- 58:55I don't give a fuck like tiles whatever like they're loose.
- 58:58I don't give a shit. I would have given a shit in my
- 59:02dorm room. If like my tiles were like
- 59:03coming up I would be like fuck it.
- 59:05I'm out of here in here and I had a doorknob fall off three
- 59:08times in my freshman dorm so yeah locked out of my Room
- 59:14because the door knob fell off three several times as different
- 59:17than tiles being misplaced. I know I'm just saying also is a
- 59:21single person room that they shoved two beds and they're
- 59:23like, no, this is how it was meant to be and I was like,
- 59:25that's a lie. My dressers in the closet.
- 59:28Wow, it was bad. It was bad dorm, was that?
- 59:32It was the, the honors dorm. Yeah.
- 59:35That sucks. Yeah.
- 59:37It was a they also yelled at me because I had like I was in the
- 59:41top floor. And it was like an angled
- 59:44ceiling because of the attic or the roof or whatever.
- 59:47And I had a poster on that part of my bed and she's like, you
- 59:52can't have posters on the ceiling and I was like, um, it's
- 59:54the wall and she was like, no, it's not.
- 59:56It's the ceiling. And I was like, oh, this ceiling
- 59:58starts three feet from the floor, and is that what you're
- 1:00:00telling me? And she just eventually dropped
- 1:00:03it? Because I got really
- 1:00:04argumentative and I was like, this room is on there for two
- 1:00:06people. My doorknob keeps falling off.
- 1:00:12Actually lived in that room for a semester.
- 1:00:14It was a mess. Also there was the creepiest
- 1:00:17room in the basement of that dorm.
- 1:00:20Sounds like a good place. Oh yeah.
- 1:00:22No I mean my friend went down there to explore like so one of
- 1:00:26the rooms it's just creepy. It was never like renovated or
- 1:00:30anything and when you go in the closet there's a secret room
- 1:00:33behind the closet with a red light bulb in a single chair, no
- 1:00:37way. Yes.
- 1:00:38That sounds weird staged. It's so creepy, though.
- 1:00:42Stage Door, not all the laundry was down in the vase into third.
- 1:00:46I was down there. I was like a ghost is definitely
- 1:00:48gonna murder me. It's not a go.
- 1:00:49See, this is some kind of kinky sex place.
- 1:00:55Okay. Okay.
- 1:00:57And now that we're done with that tangent.
- 1:01:00So Melissa gets Lauren into bed and you know just everybody
- 1:01:05knows that she's up there. She passed out she sleeping it
- 1:01:07off. Gretchen Wieners.
- 1:01:09I forget her character's name. Dana is Adina is Dana Yahweh.
- 1:01:13See, Lacey Chabert. Yeah, she goes outside to smoke.
- 1:01:18She's also, the only one who knows how to like fix a breaker
- 1:01:22in every physical. What, how do you know that
- 1:01:24you're so pretty? And she was like, what it's
- 1:01:27like, you know, it's just you go to the fuse box like it's not
- 1:01:30that big a deal like and then, like, you need to go do it
- 1:01:32because know there's clearly somebody like fucking with us.
- 1:01:35I don't want to go do that. Well, I don't know.
- 1:01:39Well yeah, somebody's definitely fucking with them but the power
- 1:01:41is like they've made a point of saying that there's like a heavy
- 1:01:43storm going on. Yeah.
- 1:01:45No. But I mean like, there's some
- 1:01:47suspicious activity happening. Like oh, getting this right?
- 1:01:50Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:50That's one. Say there is some fucking re
- 1:01:52going on here. Fuck Carrie.
- 1:01:54Fuck Gary, no Gary. I'm so like halfway coming back
- 1:01:58from the Dow code. Santa Claus.
- 1:02:00French pronunciation. Okay, okay.
- 1:02:04Yeah, yeah. So she She goes.
- 1:02:09She's like, fuck it. I'm out here.
- 1:02:11I'm just going to go ahead and I'm going to go see if I can go
- 1:02:12fix this power. And then now she gets got, I did
- 1:02:15not write how anybody died in this movie.
- 1:02:17I will get Scott for all of them.
- 1:02:19She drops the cigarette into like the little hole and then
- 1:02:23she hears like some like little like scampering down underneath
- 1:02:26the deck. Yeah.
- 1:02:27Because he scampers and I can't remember exactly what happens
- 1:02:32again. I would assume that that was
- 1:02:34like a cat or a raccoon or something because it's a bit.
- 1:02:36It's bad storm. It's like I think she
- 1:02:39investigates under there something and gets she gets got
- 1:02:43yeah yeah she gets got whatever lays in the Attic looking
- 1:02:49around. Kelly gets a call from Dana cell
- 1:02:53and he says and imitating Billy. She's mine.
- 1:02:57Now they go to look for Dana. They see Eve's car's still there
- 1:03:04and they're like that's weird because she left like a really
- 1:03:07long time ago. Go.
- 1:03:08So they open up her door and her head just a tumbles out.
- 1:03:13Yeah. He tumbles right into the snow.
- 1:03:15No blood though that's a little weird.
- 1:03:16They had her as a red herring earlier to because they like
- 1:03:19revealed her full name which was like Eve Agnew or some like
- 1:03:22that. Yeah.
- 1:03:23So like is she the killer? Like because she was so weird
- 1:03:26and they were talking about how she was like oh you guys are my
- 1:03:29family and she didn't really have a family she was like any
- 1:03:33her family's, she's like an orphan or something.
- 1:03:36Family. Yeah.
- 1:03:39So they were kind of like dropping hints.
- 1:03:41That could be her and yeah. So we get confirmation.
- 1:03:44That's not right there. Yep.
- 1:03:49So they call 911 but because of the storm, there's the storm,
- 1:03:53there was a big accident. There's heavy traffic, 91 total
- 1:03:57pileups. Yeah, which is insane.
- 1:04:00So they won't be able to get to the house for 2 hours which Some
- 1:04:07of them are, okay? With some of them were like,
- 1:04:09fuck it. We gotta go to the cops smack
- 1:04:11and Heather are like, we need to leave.
- 1:04:14We need to go now Kelly and Lee and Melissa.
- 1:04:19They're not going to leave it that everybody Kelly's.
- 1:04:21Like, I'm not going to leave without these missing people.
- 1:04:24Lie is like, I'm not going to leave with my sister and
- 1:04:26Melissa's like, hey Lauren's, not even missing.
- 1:04:30She's passed out drunk upstairs so like they all refused to
- 1:04:35leave. So Miss Mack and Heather.
- 1:04:39They are they're gonna go to him as Max car and was Mac.
- 1:04:42Pulls out a scraper and she tries to hand it to Heather.
- 1:04:46Miller was like what is that? And she calls her a frigid
- 1:04:49princess. Like this white.
- 1:04:52She's the next card. Yeah.
- 1:04:54Like she's from the south. Maybe she's legitimately doesn't
- 1:04:57have to scrape her car. Very often.
- 1:05:00She had a carport. Mmm.
- 1:05:02Yeah, you live in fancy 10. Yes.
- 1:05:08So while Miss Mack is a scraping the car windows Heather gets got
- 1:05:14inside the car and it's not goes wait what the fuck?
- 1:05:17And then she gives got to yeah and it's Billy because you can
- 1:05:21tell it's like a doing there and you get the like you see the
- 1:05:24yellowish skin tone. Yeah so Billy has entered the
- 1:05:27chat. Lauren while she's in bed, feels
- 1:05:31somebody get into bed and Spoon her a little bit in.
- 1:05:36She tries to attack, but she also gets got.
- 1:05:40So, yeah. She, it's kind of, there's like,
- 1:05:43an alternate filming of this. There was an alternate filming
- 1:05:45of it. Where she just like a suddenly
- 1:05:47awakened get stabbed with a unicorn.
- 1:05:49Yeah, they're the alternate take is basically like a complete
- 1:05:53Recreation of the scene of Barb stuff and they original where he
- 1:05:57kind of comes in. You get like the shadow.
- 1:05:58Over here and he just like gets on top of her with it's like the
- 1:06:01iconic shot. It's on the Shout Factory
- 1:06:05Blu-ray cover like you know it's the shot.
- 1:06:08I guess that's the one that everybody remembers the Unicorn.
- 1:06:10Boom. But yeah.
- 1:06:12And this one like it's like a tag team.
- 1:06:13So it's like Agnes and Billy both in their kind of like
- 1:06:16fucking with her. We see Melissa get attacked with
- 1:06:21the Unicorn. Also she gets got her the
- 1:06:26alternate death for her and international versions of this.
- 1:06:29Is super fucking gory as I like, only International.
- 1:06:33Yeah, that's what it said on the special feature.
- 1:06:35Oh yeah. So in the international version,
- 1:06:38she gets the bag over her head. And she gets pulled down and
- 1:06:41then Agnes reaches in and like, Scoops out her eyeballs wall.
- 1:06:45She's. Yeah.
- 1:06:45And you see the scoop, like she does with her thumb and then she
- 1:06:49eats the eyeball and then drags her away, like fingers in the
- 1:06:53eye sockets. Drags her and she's still alive.
- 1:06:55She's still kicking and screaming.
- 1:06:57Yeah, love that death. Oh, trying the fame of death.
- 1:07:00Yeah yeah. Oh no.
- 1:07:02Wait. That happened before.
- 1:07:03Lauren got killed. Did it?
- 1:07:05Yeah. Melissa went to go check on her.
- 1:07:08I just missed that note before. That's right.
- 1:07:10Yeah. Okay.
- 1:07:12Excuse us. I'm my bad Kelly and we try to
- 1:07:17call Melissa. They try to find more it but
- 1:07:20then they find Lauren's body. Kyle, appears, Billy calls
- 1:07:24Kelly, here's someone. So they go to the attic and
- 1:07:29Billy Graham's, Kyle, and kills him.
- 1:07:31He's fucking dead Kelly and Lee get up there and he's like he's,
- 1:07:38my family, you narrow. I don't such a good Billy eats
- 1:07:43another eyeball. I mean, he's going to fill up
- 1:07:45on. I bought an ARCA have any room
- 1:07:47for gingerbread Ricky. You know.
- 1:07:49Yeah he's got room for that. They see everybody up there.
- 1:07:55The tree is decorated with heads that have no eyeballs.
- 1:07:58It's a it's really fucked up. Yeah, it's kind of cool.
- 1:08:01I like that shot. Yeah.
- 1:08:03We see a shot of the Killer and we see the right eye only and
- 1:08:06for a second I was like, well, I thought this was supposed to be
- 1:08:08Agnes but I notice is missing her II and then Kelly stamps are
- 1:08:14in the eye and when she pulls it back out, oh, the eyeball comes
- 1:08:18with, is if a guy. Yeah.
- 1:08:20So I was like, okay, well, yep. Agnes confirmed, Kelly ends up
- 1:08:25like falling through a hole in the wall to Is in between the
- 1:08:29wall and she's like calling for Lee.
- 1:08:32Stop it. There's a hole in the wall where
- 1:08:36there is between so she's like screaming, she's likely help me.
- 1:08:47We see like, Bill you pop over the edge like staring down, or
- 1:08:50should I can only help me and likely burst through the wall
- 1:08:54and pulls Kelly out? And I set the house on fire.
- 1:08:58No. Yeah, no Billy.
- 1:09:00Like, like he's on the other side of the wall and like Billy,
- 1:09:04like goes through the wall to, like pulley in and she starts
- 1:09:07like stabbing him and shit, or maybe that's Agnes or something.
- 1:09:10I don't know. I just remember the shot of like
- 1:09:13something happens to Agnes and she falls through the walls and
- 1:09:16like I don't know what they did. It was a nice shot by her body
- 1:09:19rag doll down like the wall is, it was kind of impressive.
- 1:09:22I was like, holy shit. Did they get like somebody to do
- 1:09:24a stunt for that? Or did they just like drop like
- 1:09:26a dummy doll? Like Down the Walls.
- 1:09:28I would think it's, I mean doll would do that rag doll.
- 1:09:30Effect best. Yeah.
- 1:09:32But like, it looked like realistic.
- 1:09:34Like it didn't look like somebody was just like, hmm.
- 1:09:36Like, you know, just like flailing all the way down, like
- 1:09:39it looks like control like an actual person following.
- 1:09:42I mean, maybe maybe it was a person, maybe they'd like a
- 1:09:44harness rigging type thing. They're banging up against the
- 1:09:47wall, like they're kind of pinball in back and forth just
- 1:09:50like, dude, it's a nice shot. Yeah, so you know, the house is
- 1:09:56on fire, they, we cut to the Spittle cornered eating goes as
- 1:10:01well. Corner going to do their
- 1:10:03desensitized to death. Okay, so hold up.
- 1:10:07We have four Innings that we're going to review here.
- 1:10:11So this is the ending of the movie.
- 1:10:13Whistle, the official ending will go through the official
- 1:10:16ending normally than what kind of like go over the others kind
- 1:10:20of more casually, but go ahead. Okay. so, the corners eating
- 1:10:29He's on the phone arguing with his wife about being at work
- 1:10:33like. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:35And yeah, he's doing it's the whole Corner, eating Trove,
- 1:10:38Jesse College. It's ever since you brought that
- 1:10:41up on my holy shit like this. Oh, I soon as I saw the guys,
- 1:10:44like he's gonna have something. Yeah, he's eating Christmas
- 1:10:47cookies. Yeah, it's like the weirdest
- 1:10:51Trope that exists. I don't know, the lie still
- 1:10:56alive and he ends up killing the guy.
- 1:10:58We see the lien Kelly and Kelly is hospital room.
- 1:11:02Li opens the gift from Claire. It's a little watch that says,
- 1:11:07family forever on the back family.
- 1:11:12Kelly is taking off to an x-ray and while he is waiting, she
- 1:11:16hears a sound and she finds Agnes and gets her Nick broke.
- 1:11:22When Kelly comes back from the X-ray, she didn't say leave and
- 1:11:26she also knows is that the door is kind of weird.
- 1:11:28Or so, actually. Before that though, Kelly is
- 1:11:32like taking away and we comes back and there's somebody in the
- 1:11:35bed and she thinks it's Kelly. Oh yeah.
- 1:11:38And yeah she walks over to like it doesn't quite it looks off
- 1:11:42which is like a really creepy shy like just to think about
- 1:11:45like you go back and like somebody's lying in bed and they
- 1:11:48look like kind of different and I know I'm gonna Kelly your
- 1:11:52hair. Got really shitty job, mostly
- 1:11:54great, I kind of getting chills just thinking about some like
- 1:11:56that. Like, if I walked into the
- 1:11:57bedroom and like you're like, you know, like asleep and I go
- 1:12:00back there. Like I see like somebody that
- 1:12:02kind of like, who looks like you but like the hair is just a
- 1:12:05little bit different and I'm like it stallion away like
- 1:12:09thinking of that shot from the office of Dwight where he has
- 1:12:10like a wig. Yeah, so yeah.
- 1:12:14She kills her that? Yeah.
- 1:12:16That's how she gets when I broke one.
- 1:12:17Kelly comes back from the X-ray. Please not there.
- 1:12:20The door is kind of being weird, while she's in bed.
- 1:12:23She finds the the engraved part of the watch and then she looks
- 1:12:27up and like the light fixture in the sea.
- 1:12:31Link starts to fill with blood as she hits the emergency help
- 1:12:34button a bunch of times, but they don't hear it because
- 1:12:36they're listening to carolers. So these nurses are better at
- 1:12:39their jobs. Yes, let's see, she uses
- 1:12:45defibrillator member may be kind of like to the sound like that.
- 1:12:50It's like how you describe how that person fell down the wall,
- 1:12:53like the data from. It's like the sound of falling
- 1:12:59down the stairs. She shocks Agnes is brain.
- 1:13:09Yeah. Defibrillator whirs.
- 1:13:12Defibrillator just a defibrillator.
- 1:13:15It's not defibrillator is defibrillators.
- 1:13:17Easiest way to say it. Yeah but it's not right
- 1:13:22shortcuts baby. Nuclear nuclear.
- 1:13:29Okay. So she gets out of the hospital
- 1:13:35room, but Billy's right behind her.
- 1:13:39She hits him with a crutch but he grabs the crutch and trips
- 1:13:44her and he chases her and she ends up being thrown onto tree.
- 1:13:54No, you let me take it, let me handle this.
- 1:13:59I got this. No you got it right but you got
- 1:14:04it. Mixed up no you read that wrong
- 1:14:09too like she throws him to the tree.
- 1:14:12It goes down through the hallways and then
- 1:14:30they get to the Well, and they wrestle there and then she
- 1:14:33throws him off of the stairs where he gets impaled by the
- 1:14:35star, okay. Yeah.
- 1:14:38It's like they weren't Christmas movie and during Christmas, we
- 1:14:44bring treasons, I made it. Yeah.
- 1:14:46So that's what, that's what happens.
- 1:14:48That's how it is. Okay, you like the first
- 1:14:51alternate ending the best. Yeah, okay, so you okay, so it's
- 1:14:56what stop the movie there? Yeah, that's the end of the
- 1:14:58official movie. All right, let me say this piece
- 1:15:00first. First, I thought that the
- 1:15:03hospital was unnecessary. I don't think that we needed
- 1:15:07like this little extra bit of the hospital.
- 1:15:09I feel like it dragged on too long.
- 1:15:11I feel like they were trying to pad time but yeah, no, it was
- 1:15:13definitely trying to Pad Thai because the hospital seems like
- 1:15:1612 minutes and the movie is an hour, 32, exactly.
- 1:15:19So something wrong with an hour and 20, you know, that's fine.
- 1:15:22If that's what you need to tell your story.
- 1:15:23Take that time to tell your story.
- 1:15:25Yeah. So but yeah, it felt like a
- 1:15:28dragon too long but alternate ending number 1.
- 1:15:30So what happens? It's basically kind of the
- 1:15:34beginning of the first opening static colorful really annoyed
- 1:15:38with how long these alternate endings went on, because they
- 1:15:40could have started from the same spot each time.
- 1:15:42But instead we get so much of the same shots.
- 1:15:45Yeah, well it's kind of interesting seeing how they like
- 1:15:48they had so many different things shot and then final one
- 1:15:51actually kind of like cobbles together water.
- 1:15:52The things into it but this one is we goes into the room but has
- 1:15:59like a little bit of additional thing.
- 1:16:00So there's somebody E in the room over and shared room.
- 1:16:03And we see the guys like Rubbernecking.
- 1:16:06Mm. Yeah.
- 1:16:07You probably heard like Billy Lenz was founded.
- 1:16:11Yeah, so I was I was thinking that that was going to play a
- 1:16:14part and maybe if I feel like it kind of adds to the creep factor
- 1:16:17with this one. So yeah.
- 1:16:19Like if nothing else is just creepy for an old man to be
- 1:16:21staring at these two women that just went through trauma.
- 1:16:24So seeking medical help. I'm getting kind of like Vibes
- 1:16:27of kind of like what it's not like abstract.
- 1:16:34What's The term for like movies that are like, weird, like David
- 1:16:42Lynch type movies, surreal, okay.
- 1:16:46It's kind of like, I'm getting like surreal Vibes.
- 1:16:47Like, you know, like he goes in there and she goes in there and
- 1:16:50then they like he's kind of watching from the back there.
- 1:16:52Like he's just keeping is very surreal though, it is.
- 1:16:55Yeah, but okay, so yeah. So she goes in there and then
- 1:16:59she's talking. It's kind of the same thing
- 1:17:01where they're exchanging gifts or not exchanging.
- 1:17:04If she's talking about the whole family, Thing she opens up the
- 1:17:06watch, whatever. Then Ka Kelly starts, getting a
- 1:17:12phone call. And they think that it's the
- 1:17:15mom, she opens up the phone and I said, Mom, because Lee has
- 1:17:20just told her that her parents are on the way.
- 1:17:21And she's like, oh that's probably my Mom calling.
- 1:17:23So she looks at the phone and turns out to be Kyle and then it
- 1:17:26just like pulls back and it's a shot of outside of the building,
- 1:17:29which is how the original exactly, very reminiscent of the
- 1:17:32original ending, which I love that ending is so good.
- 1:17:35No ending one girl is Left Alive and they're like, yes, please
- 1:17:40stay in this house. The site of a murder.
- 1:17:43We will go, we will all leave right now and then even though
- 1:17:49we know that the killer was inside the house by and spoiler
- 1:17:54alert, they all think that the killer was her boyfriend, who
- 1:17:57she killed. Yeah.
- 1:17:59And so they all leave, they don't know that the Killer is
- 1:18:04actually somebody else. Else, and she's alone in this
- 1:18:08giant house on Christmas Eve after almost being murdered.
- 1:18:11And after killing in self-defense, and then we hear a
- 1:18:14phone call. And it pulls out from that shot
- 1:18:18like this house. It's static.
- 1:18:19It's like, it's like a, the credits for that movie or just
- 1:18:23like a shot of the house and it's the phone ringing
- 1:18:26constantly constantly. And then I think it ends with
- 1:18:32like, I think, like, kind of get confirmation that he Soon.
- 1:18:36Yeah. They're like I can't remember
- 1:18:37very much implied. It's know.
- 1:18:40It's like yeah. The like after like the his
- 1:18:43whole Mo and that is basically after he kills he calls kind of
- 1:18:47like in this one. Yeah.
- 1:18:48So yeah, this one right here. Yeah.
- 1:18:50Has I wholesome Porsche and then it's like a lingering shy on the
- 1:18:54hospital so you don't know if they're in there or what they're
- 1:18:57going to do. I don't know if that fucking old
- 1:18:59man next. Like, on the other side of the
- 1:19:02curtain is going to be like some kind of freak, you know.
- 1:19:04That's kind of like a Additional layer fear there.
- 1:19:06So I really like that anything, which that's the one we got.
- 1:19:09Okay, number two, number two, nice.
- 1:19:15It's been a long day. All right, so okay this is the
- 1:19:19one so there's a hospital. Gift exchange blah.
- 1:19:23A police officer comes in and so somebody needs to come identify.
- 1:19:26The body of Agnes solely goes obviously because Kelly is, you
- 1:19:30know, injured. And when she goes down there,
- 1:19:37This is when Kelly gets pulled in, for her x-rays or whatever.
- 1:19:40Lee is looking. They unzip a body bag that says
- 1:19:44lens comma Agnes and it's Claire's body in there and lie
- 1:19:49is equal parts. Traumatized Furious and
- 1:19:53terrified. Yeah because she's like cool.
- 1:19:57That's my sister didn't need to see this again.
- 1:20:00I'm sure she had already identified the body.
- 1:20:02She didn't didn't need to see this again.
- 1:20:05And The cop is and she's like, where the fuck is Agnes?
- 1:20:07Where's Agnes? And the cop is like that Agnes
- 1:20:09was in there, like this is not the body that was in there
- 1:20:11before. Like, I don't know, it everybody
- 1:20:13was accounted for. So Lee goes running back up into
- 1:20:16Kelly's room and it's that same shot of the like hmm this.
- 1:20:21Yes, not quite Kelly. Yeah.
- 1:20:23And then that's when Agnes kills her, breaks her neck and I'm
- 1:20:25sure. Yeah.
- 1:20:26And Kelly comes back from her x-ray.
- 1:20:28Same thing, she finds the like back of the watch, we meanwhile
- 1:20:33see that Billy is being worked on.
- 1:20:35He survived the fire, but he's very badly burnt and they're
- 1:20:39trying to revive him and at the same time, that Agnes kills lie,
- 1:20:47Billy doesn't pull through his pollster stops, they pronounce
- 1:20:51him dead. So tell he's in a room
- 1:20:54afterwards doesn't know that Billy is Dad, doesn't know that
- 1:20:57Lee is dead, but while she's laying in her bed, she finds
- 1:21:00watch piece looks up sees the blood thing again Bowl.
- 1:21:02Allah barbecues. Agnes's brain again.
- 1:21:07Same way. And then we see her parents
- 1:21:10coming to pick her up and as they're taking her out there,
- 1:21:12like it's okay, it's okay, he's dead.
- 1:21:14They're all dead. And I was like that's McCobb
- 1:21:17because like it's not just that like Billy and Agnes are dead.
- 1:21:20It's like all of her friends are dead.
- 1:21:21Yeah, I said, it's great guys. Let's go and then I'd like, I
- 1:21:26like this because it's a very like fucked up sense of humor
- 1:21:29but it like the final shot is like they closed the door and
- 1:21:32it's got Christmas decorations on it and it is a decoration.
- 1:21:35It says peace on Earth. Yeah and then the third ending
- 1:21:39is very, very similar to all of that except after they've left
- 1:21:46we cut back to Billy's body and so you're like, oh maybe Billy's
- 1:21:52not really dead and then we see an orderly is like cleaning up
- 1:21:57the bed and somebody comes in. He's like I'm here for the lens
- 1:22:00body and he's like, oh more guard, he picked it up and the
- 1:22:03guy goes I'm from morgue. Ugh.
- 1:22:06And then they go running and then we see behind.
- 1:22:09What is clearly, not a real working, smoke detector,
- 1:22:13Phillies, I how the fuck does this, dude?
- 1:22:18Get in the walls of this hospital because that's what he
- 1:22:20do. Dolezal wall man, some men are
- 1:22:24Hitman harassment, some men are Dickman.
- 1:22:27You know, I went to account first found the water.
- 1:22:29I can see it all ran tations. Yeah, he he is he found the hole
- 1:22:34in the wall where he a man can see it all somebody dared
- 1:22:37somebody like I dare you to make that whole thing.
- 1:22:40Like the man the hole in the wall where men could see it all
- 1:22:43into a horror movie and this guy was like fucking bitch.
- 1:22:46Yeah. It's gonna be a remake.
- 1:22:50Yeah. I personally like the second
- 1:22:52alternate ending better. You do or they're all dead.
- 1:22:54Dead. Okay.
- 1:22:56Again, I very much separate all of the black Christmases as
- 1:23:01different movies, that's fair. But I mean, it knows it's a
- 1:23:04remake and like, definitely rocks the homogeneous.
- 1:23:10And I think they do a really good job with them.
- 1:23:12I just, I'm just, I'm a sucker for the body switch body bag
- 1:23:16thing. No, yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:18It's one of those tropes that like, I always see it coming but
- 1:23:21like, Iris single time I might. Yeah, that's creepy.
- 1:23:23This book, you know, No, yeah, see I like the thing.
- 1:23:26Like thin of the person where I don't like things to be nice.
- 1:23:31I like to have that like little bit of like holy shit, like I
- 1:23:35don't I feel uneasy you know, like, you know, I guess like the
- 1:23:39ending of the third one can be kind of like that one too, but I
- 1:23:41know I like pulling out not knowing what's happening.
- 1:23:44I mean, I feel like in the the second one, like, I still would
- 1:23:48have seemed the least dead. I don't know why I like, in my
- 1:23:50head. I'm just like, well, yeah, he's
- 1:23:52he may be, he's dead. Maybe he's not.
- 1:23:54Yeah so okay. How do you feel now that we
- 1:24:00talked about it what are you, where you at?
- 1:24:03You know, I like it. I think I might bump it up to
- 1:24:08seven. Doo doo, doo doo, dee dee
- 1:24:12dee-dee-dee, Deedee doodle. I'm summoning up to seven and a
- 1:24:15half because I had a good time with it.
- 1:24:17Yeah it's a fun movie. I can definitely see is watching
- 1:24:19him or around Christmas. I mean you can't beat the
- 1:24:23original for me original. It's a 10.
- 1:24:26Maybe we'll talk about that one someday.
- 1:24:28Yeah, I think we will get through all of the by
- 1:24:31Christmases at some point. How do you feel about the
- 1:24:33original? I like it.
- 1:24:35Like I said, it's I have It's very different messages
- 1:24:41throughout. So this one is very much about
- 1:24:43like the concept of family. Like, what is blood?
- 1:24:45What does found family? What is friendship?
- 1:24:48You know what I mean? Like, what a family truly mean,
- 1:24:50how do you handle trauma like all of?
- 1:24:52That's there. The first movie has a lot of
- 1:24:55elements of, like, Still trauma and like maladaptive coping
- 1:25:01skills and stuff, but we've got like, what's her face is whole
- 1:25:05plot line where she's dealing with a douchey boyfriend and an
- 1:25:08unwanted pregnancy. And then we've got this creep,
- 1:25:10that's just harassing these women.
- 1:25:15It is, I know you and I disagree on this but it is a very
- 1:25:19feminist movie. I don't disagree about that, I
- 1:25:21definitely agree with that. Why do you think I'd be used to
- 1:25:24be you argued, you argued the way?
- 1:25:27I interpret it as Feminist movie?
- 1:25:29No, I totally buy into like, it's all about like, you know,
- 1:25:32women's issues like down to the cops, not believing it.
- 1:25:35And then pulling in a man to like, do the same thing and then
- 1:25:38they all believed him. I swear to God, we had this
- 1:25:40conversation before and you disagreed with me.
- 1:25:42I'm glad you think so. Okay.
- 1:25:44Well, I'm glad you know, wanting to do what's right for her, you
- 1:25:53know. Yeah, no, I'm glad you agree.
- 1:25:55I'm glad that you're all right, I'm surprised that you thought
- 1:25:57I'd say. I didn't think that my head.
- 1:25:59I remember you being like, I don't think it's a very feminist
- 1:26:02movie. No.
- 1:26:03It's definitely one. Yeah, all right cool.
- 1:26:05Cool cool. I'm glad we're on the same page.
- 1:26:08Yeah but we were talking about the Remake, I don't know.
- 1:26:10Like I definitely think that one's.
- 1:26:11I mean how could that one? Also not here very feminist.
- 1:26:14Yeah yeah I don't know. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:26:17Like it in that it was a very revolutionary movie and I'm
- 1:26:21saying several ways to only recently saw it.
- 1:26:24But you know, I you can recognize.
- 1:26:26Yeah, I guess so. At a time.
- 1:26:28If you can tell like, wow, that's like very nice for
- 1:26:32something from the 70s. Yeah.
- 1:26:34So it's like I said, I just see them as very different movies
- 1:26:37and that is a movie that like, for me is kind of like the
- 1:26:41strangers versus strangers. Pray at night.
- 1:26:44Pray at night is a very fun to watch horror movie.
- 1:26:49It's campy, it's Tropi. It's still legitimately spooky
- 1:26:53at times. It's one that I like, we have
- 1:26:56put on back in the bedroom as we're falling.
- 1:26:58To sleep. Don't please.
- 1:27:00Don't psychoanalyze us. Falling asleep.
- 1:27:02Horror movies. That's a day that could be a
- 1:27:06discussion for another day. Yeah.
- 1:27:07Because I have feelings about the second strangers, but the
- 1:27:10first strangers is one of those. I love it.
- 1:27:13It is a fantastic horror movie. It is heavy to watch and that's
- 1:27:19kind of how I feel about these two movies.
- 1:27:22Yeah I think they both have like very legitimate merits on their
- 1:27:27own. But I have like a very different
- 1:27:30way. I want to feel when I'm watching
- 1:27:32a horror movie about to them 2006 as a little bit more
- 1:27:36accessible to more frames of mind for me than 1974 is yeah I
- 1:27:42get that. Yeah I think the only thing that
- 1:27:44I would change or actually no you had the lower score.
- 1:27:47What is one thing that you would change to bump up the score?
- 1:27:49Even more for 2006 you know. I would I mean I don't think
- 1:27:58know like like I said before like I am of the Mind especially
- 1:28:04with this like the whole black Christmas.
- 1:28:07I don't even know if you would call it a series but you know
- 1:28:09those movies don't show the killer so much like they like
- 1:28:14what a see Agnes from like basically the very beginning you
- 1:28:18know like if we had some mystery like what like Agnes should have
- 1:28:22been revealed. Yeah.
- 1:28:23Why not. I would have made it more of a
- 1:28:25surprise that there's, ER, because we'd seen Billy.
- 1:28:28Yeah, your expect, you go into the black Christmas remake
- 1:28:30expecting that to be Billy and you don't expect the whole time,
- 1:28:34not realizing that it's a fake. I think that moment up in the
- 1:28:37attic would have been even more. Exactly.
- 1:28:40Yeah, like, that would have been a cool twist.
- 1:28:43I think like like you're halfway through the movie, right?
- 1:28:45Holy shit. Like, this is definitely
- 1:28:47separating itself because now, it's both of them like, right
- 1:28:50from the beginning, right? Oh, it's doing this?
- 1:28:52Okay, I guess, this is what we're doing for this.
- 1:28:54So that's what I would change. Okay, I did something.
- 1:29:00I forgot something didn't do talion.
- 1:29:02I didn't do Talia notes because we came back from that.
- 1:29:05Christmas party we want. But I was a little buzzed, I had
- 1:29:10an Omnibus because I had yeah, I was buzzed and I just I
- 1:29:16completely forgot that I normally take Talia notes.
- 1:29:18I will say though that Talia was very, very playful.
- 1:29:22I remember that being a thing like she wanted to Play it.
- 1:29:24Yeah. Like she was very very into it.
- 1:29:26She dropped froggy. On instance on.
- 1:29:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:29:29She tried to light one of her toys on fire.
- 1:29:32Yeah. She was rooting around the
- 1:29:33house. Yeah, she went.
- 1:29:35Yeah she wanted, she wanted gingerbread frog jerky.
- 1:29:39Actually like this, just maybe I think she's gonna give it a
- 1:29:42seven with you. Okay, cool.
- 1:29:43She was very active throughout. I do remember that even without
- 1:29:46the notes. So okay, the internet's review.
- 1:29:50Yeah, I think we have to get some negative reviews for this
- 1:29:53since we both Like the have to get some negative reviews from
- 1:29:56the internet. I think most of our listener
- 1:29:58reviews were fairly positive to. I didn't see all of them.
- 1:30:02Yeah, they were the ones I saw were mostly positive.
- 1:30:05Yeah, I don't. Well, I think we did have one
- 1:30:08bad review. We'll get into that here in a
- 1:30:10second. Okay.
- 1:30:11All right. So let's get a 1 star here.
- 1:30:14All right. All right.
- 1:30:18Black Xmas college girls are being slaughtered by a serial
- 1:30:21killer named Billy? They're not really.
- 1:30:25And his sister Agnes on Christmas Eve.
- 1:30:27We see flashbacks to when Billy was growing, okay, whatever.
- 1:30:30Yeah, yeah. I don't need a summary of the
- 1:30:32meeting yet. Fuck the fog remake.
- 1:30:34This film takes it upon himself to over explain everything about
- 1:30:37Billy leaving. Absolutely no mystery which made
- 1:30:39Bob quarks original so haunting and fascinating billion.
- 1:30:42Agnes is simply a joke weaving absolutely zero suspense just
- 1:30:46various Bloodshed with Sharp Tools W of blood spraying and
- 1:30:49the crackling of the killing tool as it penetrates the flesh
- 1:30:52with ferocity. Whoa, Interest rates of flash of
- 1:30:55ferocity. That's what she said because of
- 1:30:59nasty vile mean-spirited attitude, leaving a little
- 1:31:02glimmer or a little glimmer of hope regarding entertainment
- 1:31:05value to be bluntly honest. This stinker is about as
- 1:31:08entertaining as pulling of teeth from The Roots.
- 1:31:11It's a moronic by the Numbers exercise which insults the
- 1:31:14original. Now, there's more but we'll
- 1:31:16leave it at that, okay, I can see.
- 1:31:20I mean, it's kind of like what you said, you know, there's not
- 1:31:22as much mystery, I think the Flash Each box they definitely
- 1:31:25were there to explain to the audience.
- 1:31:29What the backstory is. I one of the strengths of the
- 1:31:33original is that you were very much in the perspective of the
- 1:31:37women the whole time. Exactly.
- 1:31:38Like you're like we don't know what's going on your entrenched
- 1:31:41in that same mystery, you know? And I always say this like if
- 1:31:46you're gonna have a slasher and you're going to have a whole
- 1:31:48mystery of who done it, it needs to be done in a way that makes
- 1:31:53sense. Sense for the characters frame
- 1:31:56of reference. Yeah, so if it's just like a
- 1:31:58complete stranger having that mystery aspect, makes sense,
- 1:32:03because they truly don't know what's going on.
- 1:32:04Whereas, with this whodunit, I think that this movie does it
- 1:32:08well because it is a local Legend.
- 1:32:11You know, they know the guy. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:32:14Like so I think having the flashbacks pranked sprinkled in,
- 1:32:19Serves as well as an audience to kind of get some of that back
- 1:32:22story, you know, maybe a little bit more than definitely more
- 1:32:27than what the women know. I think if we had taken away
- 1:32:29seeing so much of what was happening with billion Agnes, it
- 1:32:34would have been really well done.
- 1:32:35So I do understand that perspective.
- 1:32:36Yeah, I mean it's a horror movie, We Love Kills.
- 1:32:40So yeah that goes out. I think the kids are great
- 1:32:43because they're pretty good in this one.
- 1:32:45Yeah, but yeah totally agree with the whole mystery.
- 1:32:47All right, let's go. So for this, I'll start with
- 1:32:58aqua way. Boobs.
- 1:33:00Is that how you pronounce it? Hi, I'm not sure actually.
- 1:33:05So this is a I personally thought 2006 black Christmas was
- 1:33:09great. First time I watched it, I never
- 1:33:11knew his roommate like you. Hey I'm going to be
- 1:33:14controversial though. And I say I prefer the 2006
- 1:33:18remake. So there you go.
- 1:33:20I told him. I appreciate the controversial
- 1:33:22statement. We like hot takes over here.
- 1:33:24Yeah, it's kind of like I said to me, I see them as two
- 1:33:28completely separate movies, but I guess if you want to say me
- 1:33:31calling this one more accessible, you know what I
- 1:33:34mean? Like I can see how that could
- 1:33:36Edge something into a more favorite position.
- 1:33:40Yeah. It's a parent like me.
- 1:33:41Enjoyability factor of watching something.
- 1:33:43Yeah, you know, kind of like how I'm about to go out here and ask
- 1:33:47if we can watch Jack Frost. I don't have full name of this
- 1:33:52one. It's somebody from Twitter that
- 1:33:54we kind of interact with occasionally.
- 1:33:57It's a thin one foggy .dy. I don't get their full handle.
- 1:34:01Oh then one foggy. Mr. Steve that's it.
- 1:34:04Yeah mr. Steve Universe with.
- 1:34:07Yeah, we interact with him a lot.
- 1:34:08Yeah. So he says now there's a movie.
- 1:34:11That's a legitimate Lee underrated.
- 1:34:12I'm glad you said it out loud because when I saw his name
- 1:34:15before I thought it said froggy and I did not understand how
- 1:34:18that was a Christmas. Handle.
- 1:34:20So then one foggy, Christmas. Steve that makes more sense.
- 1:34:23Yeah. Okay.
- 1:34:26So view, I'm just like contemplating how stupid I am
- 1:34:29right now? What's the review?
- 1:34:30Yeah, that was the same as what generally underrated.
- 1:34:32Okay, yeah, no, I definitely agree.
- 1:34:34It's underrated. I think it, I think this people
- 1:34:37hate on remix remix don't have to be all bad.
- 1:34:39This is fun. Yeah, it definitely.
- 1:34:41And I again I think if you don't look at it as a remake it's a
- 1:34:45lot more fun. Yeah definitely.
- 1:34:47Okay we have UND in Grim? From Instagram saying dumb fun
- 1:34:53full of holiday the white? Yeah I totally agree.
- 1:34:55Definitely. Lee.
- 1:34:56I love some holiday or this is definitely fits the bill for
- 1:35:00them. Then we have the one negative
- 1:35:02review for this and this is our guy in storm, how could you?
- 1:35:06He says there's a reason remakes, get a reputation for
- 1:35:09being terrible. Which is exactly going against
- 1:35:11what you just said, I know. So, I mean, yeah, yeah, okay.
- 1:35:17Wasn't and I'm again, I am always going to respect that.
- 1:35:20People have different opinions as the whole point in this
- 1:35:22pocket. So if people have different
- 1:35:23opinions about horror movies, you know, and if You are a huge
- 1:35:28fan of the 1974. Original.
- 1:35:33I could see how coming into the 2006 being really disappointed.
- 1:35:36I'm personally very glad Travis that you weren't.
- 1:35:39Yeah, so that way we can enjoy this movie together.
- 1:35:42I'm glad I was here. I was really excited to watch
- 1:35:43this one. Yeah.
- 1:35:44So I'm glad that you got to remain excited after watching
- 1:35:47it. Yeah.
- 1:35:48And I'm glad that we got to talk about it just now because we
- 1:35:50kind of held in a lot of our thoughts after last night so
- 1:35:53it's been really good to decompress.
- 1:35:56Keeping me like that. Yes.
- 1:35:58So yeah. I mean link again I obviously
- 1:36:01Obviously like Bob Clark fucking hated this one and I can see it
- 1:36:06like it was his baby so I can. Yeah, you know, it.
- 1:36:12Again, I all three black Christmas is an existence I love
- 1:36:17for very different reasons and I do not see them as the same
- 1:36:20movie. So well, the third one,
- 1:36:22definitely. That one's like intentionally a
- 1:36:24different movie entirely. So, yes.
- 1:36:26Okay. Could you relate to?
- 1:36:29Oh, A related to Lauren. I've had to have people take
- 1:36:36care of me. Yeah, my college days I'm not
- 1:36:39proud of it but I've been there. It's not it's good to have you
- 1:36:44know people that you can trust that he'll take care of you.
- 1:36:47So, okay, I'll say thanks to all of you that are listening right
- 1:36:52now. Sorry.
- 1:36:54I was a mess. I think I'll say I'll relate to
- 1:36:59Heather because I Also had a carport Growing Up music because
- 1:37:04I also have a NASCAR Daddy. Yeah, well maybe if that's what
- 1:37:07qualifies as a NASCAR daddy than hell.
- 1:37:09Yeah, collapse with so much snow on it though.
- 1:37:12So it wouldn't have survived. The storm that was in the movie.
- 1:37:14I remember. When that happened.
- 1:37:16I completely forgot. But you still have a carport.
- 1:37:18It was there when we first started dating?
- 1:37:20Yep, quotes, but it's been gone for so long that I forgot.
- 1:37:22It was everything too much. Snow happened.
- 1:37:24And it got too heavy. All right, let's see.
- 1:37:29Also dream sequel. Got anything.
- 1:37:34So, which ending are we going with for the dream sequel?
- 1:37:40Let's go with one that leaves a more open.
- 1:37:41And OK, let's go to the alternate ending one with that.
- 1:37:44Final phone call. Okay from Kyle's.
- 1:37:47So I'm thinking a Halloween to type thing where it takes place
- 1:37:51in the hospital picks up immediately after.
- 1:37:53Okay, so like how all of the other endings, you were annoyed.
- 1:37:57Because they felt like they dragged on too long.
- 1:38:00They were unnecessary. It's like flesh out that idea
- 1:38:02more. Yeah.
- 1:38:03Make With its own movie. Like I don't need that to be the
- 1:38:05ending of this one. Like I like the pullout for the,
- 1:38:09but then yeah. Like pick it up in the hospital
- 1:38:11hospital settings. For horror movies are always
- 1:38:13awesome. Yes.
- 1:38:13Because I think one of the great things about it is because a
- 1:38:16hospital is a place that you're supposed to feel safe.
- 1:38:18Yeah. Or you know, also I wanted that
- 1:38:21goes on there to naturally. Yeah, whatever.
- 1:38:23It's kind of a naturally spooky Place.
- 1:38:24Yeah. Well, you're supposed to feel
- 1:38:26safe from like serial killers? Yeah.
- 1:38:28Not necessarily safe from Death itself.
- 1:38:30Yeah. Okay.
- 1:38:31I like that. I like that ending.
- 1:38:34Let's see. All right.
- 1:38:37Next week, we are covering 13 slays till Christmas.
- 1:38:42This is one that you may, or may not have heard of if you're a
- 1:38:44local and Kentucky it locally and Kentuckian.
- 1:38:49Oh my God. If you're a Kentuckian, a lot of
- 1:38:53this movie was filmed in Western Kentucky, which is really,
- 1:38:56really exciting. The producer and the director
- 1:38:59for several of the shorts is from Western Kentucky.
- 1:39:03As is another director. Is he like another producer to
- 1:39:08think so yeah. Like owners of the production.
- 1:39:10Yeah blood moon Productions. He wrote one of the short.
- 1:39:13Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:39:14He wrote scary in it. Yeah, so it's called 13th Place
- 1:39:18till Christmas. It is a whore.
- 1:39:21Is a Christmas horror Anthology 13 different shorts.
- 1:39:27The 13th. One is a little bit, it's not
- 1:39:30the same as the other shorts, but yeah, it's It's a lot of
- 1:39:34fun. It's available on to be, it's
- 1:39:37available on Amazon. Prime we have it on Blu-ray
- 1:39:41because we get to meet and talk with.
- 1:39:43Yeah, we got to meet and talk with the director, several of
- 1:39:46the directors and actors. And we talked to the owners, the
- 1:39:49blood moon Productions, and they're just like, super horny
- 1:39:53nerds. Yeah, we wanted to have them on
- 1:39:55for this episode but it just didn't work out with scheduling
- 1:39:59but they're really cool guys and they're just like super super
- 1:40:01into horse. Oh wait.
- 1:40:03We do have a lot of like, fun facts about it.
- 1:40:07It's we've ever next week. Yeah, we'll leave it for next
