- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:04In this episode, we're going to continue looking at the
- 0:07Virginia Roberts deposition, and we're going to pick up right
- 0:11where we left off in the last episode. Menager, where
- 0:16is the original photograph that has been widely circulated in
- 0:20the press of you with Prince Andrew? Virginia. I probably
- 0:24still have it, It's not in my possession right now. Manager.
- 0:29Where is it, Virginia? Probably in some storage boxes, Menager?
- 0:34Where Virginia in Sydney? Manager? Where in Sydney, Virginia? Redacted? Menager?
- 0:41And who lives in that house? Virginia. Well, it's owned
- 0:45by my mother in law and my father in law,
- 0:47but my nephews live in the house. Menager. What are
- 0:50their names? Virginia. I'm not giving you the names of
- 0:53my nephews. Menager. What's the address of the house, Virginia?
- 0:58Why would you want that? I want to know where
- 1:01the photograph is. I'm asking you where the photograph is,
- 1:05and you've just told me it's somewhere in redacted? Virginia. Yes, Manager,
- 1:10So wherein redacted is the photograph located? Virginia? If I
- 1:15can't one hundred percent say that the photograph is there.
- 1:18It could be at my house that I presently live in.
- 1:21I'm not going to give you the address of my
- 1:23nephew's residence. Manager. When is the last time you saw
- 1:27the photograph in person? Virginia when I packed and left America? Menager, Colorado, Virginia. Yes, Manager,
- 1:36all right, so you had that photograph with you here
- 1:39in Colorado, Virginia. Yes. Manager. What's on the back of
- 1:44the photograph, Virginia. I'm sorry, Manager. Is there something on
- 1:49the back of the photograph, Virginia. There's like a date
- 1:52it was printed, but no writing or anything. Manager. Okay,
- 1:56does it say where it was printed? Virginia. I don't believe,
- 1:59so I think it just I don't remember. I just
- 2:02remember there's a date on it. Menager. Whose camera was
- 2:06it taken with, Virginia, my little yellow Kodak camera. Menager.
- 2:11Who took the picture? Virginia, Jeffrey Epstein. Manager. And where
- 2:16did you have it developed, Virginia? I believe when I
- 2:19got back to America. Manager. So where, Virginia, I don't know, Menager,
- 2:25Palm Beach, Virginia. I don't know. Menager, what is the
- 2:29date the photograph was printed, Virginia, I believe it was
- 2:33March two thousand and one. Menager. Okay, Virginia, but that's
- 2:38just off of my photographic memory. I don't I could
- 2:41be different, but I think it's March two thousand and one. Menager.
- 2:46You have a photographic memory, Virginia. I'm not saying I
- 2:49have a photographic memory, but if i'd look at the
- 2:52back of the photo and I remember what it says,
- 2:55I believe it was March of two thousand and one.
- 2:59Did the photograph I ever leave your possession for a while, Virginia,
- 3:03I give it to the FBI, Menager, Okay. And when
- 3:06did you get it back, Virginia when they took copies
- 3:09of it? Manager? When was that Virginia twenty eleven? Manager,
- 3:15when they came to interview you, Virginia, yes, Menager, So
- 3:19from twenty and eleven until you left Colorado it was
- 3:23in your personal possession, Virginia, yes, Menager. What other documents
- 3:29related to this case are in that storage box in Australia,
- 3:33Mister Edwards objects to form here and then Virginia answers
- 3:37documents related to this case there. I don't know. I
- 3:40really can't tell you. I mean, there are seven boxes
- 3:43full of NERF guns, my kids, toys, photos. I don't
- 3:46know what other documents would be in there, Menager, did
- 3:50anyone search those documents after you received discovery requests from US?
- 3:54In this case Virginia, I haven't been able to obtain
- 3:57those boxes. I can't get them sent back up to me.
- 4:00It's going to cost me a large sum of money,
- 4:02and right now I'm trying to look after my family,
- 4:05so I'm not able to afford to get them up. Menager,
- 4:08you live in Australia, correct, Virginia, I do, Meninger, Okay,
- 4:14So how far away from the boxes from where you
- 4:16live in Australia, Virginia? Sydney is down here at the bottom.
- 4:21Karen's is up here at the top, Menainger, Okay, Virginia's
- 4:25probably a six day drive, Meninger. Did you fly here
- 4:29through Sydney, Virginia? No, Meninger, have you been to Sydney
- 4:34since you moved back to Australia Virginia. I flew into
- 4:37Sydney with my three kids, but it was a connecting
- 4:40flight to Brisbane. Men Did you ask your nephews or
- 4:44anyone else to search for those boxes in response to
- 4:47discovery your requests that we issued in this case, Virginia,
- 4:51there are my nephews. I would never let them look
- 4:54at those, Menager, other than your green spiral notebook. What
- 4:58else did you burn in this bonfa in twenty thirteen, Virginia.
- 5:03That was it, Manager, That was the only thing Virginia. Yes, Manager,
- 5:08did you use wood? Virginia? Yes, Manager, charcoal? Virginia. My
- 5:15husband built the bonfire out of wood, and I don't
- 5:17know what else you put in it. He's the one
- 5:19who makes the fires, not me. Manager. Who else was present, Virginia?
- 5:24Just him and me? Manager. Were your kids there? Virginia. No,
- 5:28they were inside sleeping. Manager. And what beach was this, Virginia.
- 5:33It wasn't a beach. It was my backyard. Manager. What's
- 5:37your address Virginia at the time? Manager, Yeah, Virginia redacted
- 5:43and redacted. Yes, Manager. Who are your neighbors, Virginia, sweet people?
- 5:48Ray and I could look on the phone if you want, Manager, No,
- 5:52thank you. Do they still live there, Virginia? Yes? Manager.
- 5:56Do you keep in touch with them? Virginia? The last
- 5:59time that I talked to them was a few months ago. Menainger,
- 6:03did they see the fire, Virginia. They have seen many
- 6:06fires that we've had. We've had lots of bonfires there. Menager.
- 6:10Did you ever ride in a helicopter with Glenn Maxwell
- 6:13acting as a pilot of the helicopter? Virginia? Yes, Menager?
- 6:18Who else was on the flight? Virginia. I've been on
- 6:21the helicopter with her plenty of times. I can't mention
- 6:24how many people were on there on the helicopter at
- 6:27the same time, Menager, How many times, Virginia. I don't know.
- 6:31Do you have a helicopter record that you could show me, Menager,
- 6:35I'm asking you how many times you were on the
- 6:38helicopter with Glene Maxwell acting as a pilot, Virginia. It's
- 6:43impossible for me to answer the question without having the
- 6:46actual physical records in front of me. I'm asking you
- 6:50to look into your memory and to tell me how
- 6:52many times that you recall being on a helicopter with
- 6:55Glen Maxwell at the pilot's seat. Virginia. There is no
- 6:59number I can give you. There's plenty of times that
- 7:02I've been on our helicopter, Menager. Where did you go
- 7:05from and two on a helicopter? Virginia? I believe it was.
- 7:10Don't quote me on this because I get confused. On
- 7:13the islands there, I want to say was Saint John's.
- 7:16It could have been Saint Bart's, Saint John's or Saint Bart's,
- 7:19and then we would fly straight to Jeffrey's Island. Menager? Okay,
- 7:23did you ever go anywhere else on the helicopter? Virginia,
- 7:27No Menager? Were you ever on the helicopter with redacted
- 7:31and Glainne Maxwell as the pilot of the helicopter? Virginia,
- 7:36No Menager? Were you ever on the helicopter with redacted
- 7:40and Glaine as the pilot? Virginia, No Menager? Do you
- 7:44recall telling Shannon Churcher that you were Virginia, No Menager?
- 7:49Did you see the press article in which Sharon Churchier
- 7:51reported that you were Brad Edwards objects to this, and
- 7:55he says, I'd just like to ask that if you're
- 7:57going to ask this witness about a specific card article,
- 8:00I'd like her to see the article. Otherwise she's not
- 8:03going to testify about it. If you have something to
- 8:05show her, then please. In typical fashion, Menainger just basically
- 8:11ignores Edwards here and ask the question again, do you
- 8:15recall seeing a press article in which Sharon Churcher reported
- 8:18that you were on a helicopter with redacted and Glene
- 8:21Maxwell as the pilot. Again, Edwards interjects, I'll let you
- 8:26answer the question once she's looking at the document that
- 8:29you're being asked about. Menager. You're not letting her answer
- 8:32a question about whether she recalls a particular press statement.
- 8:36Brad Edwards. I will let her answer every question about
- 8:39the press statement. As long as she sees the press statement.
- 8:43I'm okay with that. She can answer all of them. Menager. No,
- 8:46there is a rule of civil procedure that allows you
- 8:49to direct a witness not to answer a question when
- 8:51there's a claim of privilege. What privilege are you claiming
- 8:54to direct her not to answer this question? Brad Edwards?
- 8:58I thought you want it accurate answers from this witness
- 9:01if the menager cuts them off. If I asked her
- 9:05if she recalled something, Edwards again interjects, if the sole
- 9:09purpose is to just harass her. Menager again interrupts him.
- 9:14I asked her if she recalled something, Edwards, then that's
- 9:18just not going to be what's happening today. Menager. All right,
- 9:22so you're refusing to answer a question about whether you
- 9:25recall a particular statement, Edwards, She's gets cut off again, Menager.
- 9:30Is that true, Edwards? She is not refusing to answer
- 9:33any questions she Virginia. I'm not refusing to answer. I
- 9:37just want to see the article that you're talking about
- 9:39so I can be clear in my statement. Menager, Do
- 9:43you recall seeing a press article written by Sharon Churcher
- 9:47reporting that you flew on a helicopter with redacted Englaine
- 9:51Maxwell as the pilot? Virginia. No, I do not recall
- 9:56reading a press article saying that I was on a
- 9:59helicopter with redacted with Glaine as the pilot. Menager, Do
- 10:03you recall telling Shannon Churcher that you had conversations with
- 10:08redacted regarding him flying on a helicopter with Glene Maxwell, Virginia.
- 10:13I believe that it was taken out of context. Glaine
- 10:16told me that she flew redacted in and Glaine likes
- 10:19to talk a lot of stuff, and that sounds fantastical,
- 10:22and whether it's true or not, that is what I
- 10:24do recall telling Sharon Churcher, Menager, So you told Sharon
- 10:30Churcher that Gallaine Maxwell is the one who told you
- 10:33that she flew redacted in the helicopter, Virginia. I told
- 10:37Sharon Churcher that Glaine flew redacted onto the island, based
- 10:41upon what Glaine had told me, Menager, not based upon
- 10:45what redacted had told you. Correct, Virginia, Correct, Menager. Did
- 10:50you ever ask Sharon Churcher to correct anything that was
- 10:53printed under her name? Concerning your stories to Sharon Churcher, Virginia.
- 10:58I wasn't given those stories to read before before they
- 11:00were printed. Manager. After they were printed, did you read them, Virginia.
- 11:05I tried to stay away from them. They were very hard.
- 11:07You have to understand it was a very hard time
- 11:10for me and my husband to have this public We
- 11:13didn't think it was going to be this publicity announced
- 11:15and that big, so we turned off the news and
- 11:18we stopped reading so many things. Menager. You didn't read
- 11:21the articles about your stories to Sharon Churcher, Virginia interrupts her.
- 11:26I've read some articles, Menager, let me just finish. You
- 11:30did not read the articles published by Sharon Churcher about
- 11:33your stories to Sharon Churcher, Virginia. I have read articles
- 11:38about what Sharon Church wrote, and a lot of the
- 11:40stuff that she writes. She takes things from my own
- 11:43mouth and changes them into her own words, as journalists do.
- 11:46And I never came back to her and told her
- 11:48to correct anything. What was done was done. There was
- 11:52nothing else I can do. Manager, So even if she
- 11:56printed something that was untrue, you didn't ask her to
- 11:58correct it. Correct, Virginia. There was things that she printed
- 12:02that really pissed me off, but there was nothing I
- 12:05could do about it. It's already out there, Menager, she
- 12:08printed things that were untrue. Correct Brad Edwards objects to
- 12:12form and he says, it's a mischaracterization, Virginia. I wouldn't
- 12:17say they were untrue. I would just say that she
- 12:19printed them as journalists take your words and turn them
- 12:22into something else. Manager, she got it wrong, Edwards again,
- 12:26Objects to form here then, Virginia. In some ways, yes, Manager,
- 12:31did she print things in her articles? You did not
- 12:34say to her? Brad Edwards again's objects and he asks
- 12:38that the witness be given the opportunity to see the
- 12:40document so that she can review it and answer the
- 12:43question accurately. Otherwise she's unable to answer the question. I'm
- 12:47not going to allow her to answer, Manager. You know,
- 12:50the civil rules tell you not to suggest answers to
- 12:53your client. Manager, and you understand your lawyer is now
- 12:56directing you to not all of a sudden remember what
- 12:59you'r ana is. That's what he's suggesting that you say.
- 13:03So you're not supposed to listen to him suggest that
- 13:06to you. You're supposed to tell me from your memory.
- 13:09Brad Edwards, that is not what I'm he tries to interject.
- 13:12But manager again interjects, did you? Then Edwards write back
- 13:17at her, That's not what I'm doing. You don't just
- 13:19get to talk over me and tell my client when
- 13:22not to listen to me. All you have to do
- 13:24to get answer is show or the document you're talking about,
- 13:26and I'll let her answer every question. I don't know
- 13:29why we're so scared of the actual documents. Manager, I
- 13:33don't know why you're so scared of your client's recollection,
- 13:36mister Edwards. But anyway, Edwards, why would you do this
- 13:40to her? Manager? Did Sharon Churcher print things that you
- 13:44did not say? Brad Edwards Again, I'm going to instruct
- 13:49my client not to answer unless you give her what
- 13:51it is that you're talking about that was printed, And
- 13:55she will tell you the answer, the accurate answer to
- 13:57your question, just without the document to refresher recollection and
- 14:01see it. She is not going to answer the question. Manager,
- 14:05Did Sharon Churcher print things that you did not say?
- 14:08Brad Edwards, same objection, same instruction, not to answer. I
- 14:13think I've made a very clearer record as to why
- 14:16i want my client to answer all of these questions.
- 14:18But I want her to have a fair opportunity to
- 14:20see this document. Menager, did Sharon Churcher print things that
- 14:25you felt were inaccurate? Edwards? Again, same objection, same instruction.
- 14:31If she sees the document, she's going to answer every
- 14:33one of these questions. Manager, Did any other reporter print
- 14:37statements that you believe are inaccurate? Edwards, same objection, same instruction. Manager,
- 14:44did any reporter print statements about Glenn Maxwell that were inaccurate? Edwards,
- 14:49Same objection, same instruction. This is harassing, This is harassing
- 14:53a sexual abuse victim. And all I'm asking is for
- 14:56fairness that we just let her see the document so
- 15:00we can answer this. Menager. Mister Edwards, please stop saying
- 15:04anything other than in an objection what the basis is
- 15:07or instructing your client not to answer, mister Edwards, I
- 15:10will do that, Menager. That's what the federal rules of
- 15:14civil procedure provide, Edwards, I hear you. They also provide
- 15:18for fairness and civility. And all I'm asking, very calmly,
- 15:22is for her to see this. Manager, Mister Edwards, this
- 15:26is not your deposition. I'm asking your client what she remembers.
- 15:30If she doesn't want to talk about what she remembers,
- 15:32then let her not answer. But you cannot instruct her
- 15:35not to answer unless there is a privilege. What privilege,
- 15:39mister Edwards, I am instructing her not to answer, Menager,
- 15:44all right, you were refusing to answer questions about whether
- 15:47statements to the press about Glen Maxwell attributed to you
- 15:51were inaccurate, mister Edwards. She's not refusing not to answer, Virginia,
- 15:56you are refusing to show me the document so I
- 15:58could answer properly. I would give you an answer if
- 16:00you would show me some documents. Manager. You can't say
- 16:04without looking at a document whether the press attributed to
- 16:07you is accurate or inaccurate. Virginia, please show me the document. Manager.
- 16:14You can't say from the top of your head whether
- 16:16any inaccurate statement has been attributed to you in the press. Virginia.
- 16:20Please show me the document and I will tell you. Manager.
- 16:23Are you refusing to answer my questions about your knowledge
- 16:26of whether inaccurate statements have been attributed to you and
- 16:29the press? Virginia? Are you refusing to give me the
- 16:33documents to look at? Manager? Are you refusing to answer
- 16:36the question, Virginia. I'm refusing to answer the question based
- 16:40upon the fact that you're not being fair enough to
- 16:42let me see the document in order to give you
- 16:45an honest answer, Manager, Miss Roberts, Virginia. Yes, Manager, we
- 16:51are talking about press that has been published on the internet, correct, Virginia. Yes. Manager.
- 16:57Do you have access to the internet, Virginia. Yeah. Yes, Menager,
- 17:01have you looked on the internet and read articles that
- 17:04attributed statements to you about Gleainne Maxwell? Virginia? Yes. Manager.
- 17:10Do you know any statements that has been attributed to
- 17:13you in a press article on the internet about Gallaine
- 17:15Maxwell that is untrue? Brad Edwards, same objection and same instruction, Virginia.
- 17:22Please show me a specific document, Menager, do you know
- 17:25of any such statements about Glene Maxwell attributed to you
- 17:28by the press that is inaccurate, Virginia. If you could
- 17:31please show me a specific document, Menager. Tell me what
- 17:36Sharon Churcher asked you to write for Virginia any knowledge
- 17:40that I had about my time with redacted? Menager? And
- 17:45did you write it Virginia, Yes, Menager. What did you
- 17:48write it on Virginia paper? Menager? What kind of paper Virginia,
- 17:53line paper? Menager? Was it in a book or single sheets?
- 17:59Single sheets? Manager? And did you write a long document
- 18:02or a short document? What was it, Virginia. I can't
- 18:06recall how long the document was, but I would say
- 18:09it would be a few pages, Menager. And other than
- 18:12asking you to write whatever you remember about redacted, did
- 18:16she give you any other directions about what you should write? Virginia.
- 18:20She was interested in two things, really, how Epstein got
- 18:23away with so many counts of child trafficking for sex
- 18:26and how redacted was involved in it. Those were her
- 18:28two main inquiries. Manager. What did she ask you to write, Virginia.
- 18:34She asked me to write about redacted? Manager. Did she
- 18:38tell you to put it in your own handwriting, Virginia? No,
- 18:41she just asked me to write down what I can remember. Manager.
- 18:44Did you give her everything that you wrote, Virginia. Did
- 18:47I give her the whole entire pages that I wrote? Menager? Yes, Virginia, Yeah,
- 18:52I wrote pages for specifically Menager in your own handwriting,
- 18:56Virginia in my own handwriting, Manager, And what you wrote
- 18:59was's true? Virginia? Yes? Manager. And did you get paid
- 19:03for those pieces of paper? Virginia? Not for the papers,
- 19:06I don't believe, Menager. Okay, have you gotten paid when
- 19:10they've been reprinted? Virginia no, Menager. Have you negotiated any
- 19:15deal with Radar Online, Virginia, no, Menager. Have you negotiated
- 19:19any deal with Sharon Churchier for the purpose of publishing
- 19:23those pieces of paper? Virginia, No, Menager. When did you
- 19:27write those pieces of paper, Brad Edwards Objects to this
- 19:31objective form? Virginia a week before she came out, Manager.
- 19:36And when did you give them to her, Virginia when
- 19:39she came out? Menager? When was that, Virginia sometime? I
- 19:43believe in early twenty eleven. Menager, What did you get
- 19:47paid for, if not those pieces of paper? Edwards again,
- 19:50objects to form? Virginia? I was paid for the picture
- 19:53with redacted with his arm around me, glaying in the background,
- 19:57and I was paid for the I guess print of
- 20:00the story. Manager, anything else, Virginia, No, All right. We're
- 20:06gonna wrap up right here, and in the next episode
- 20:08we'll pick up where we left off. All of the
- 20:11information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 20:15the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome back to
- 20:18the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're gonna pick up
- 20:22where we left off with the Virginia Roberts deposition. So
- 20:28let's get right back to it, shall we. Manager, anything else, Virginia, No, Manager,
- 20:36You were not paid for those pieces of paper, Virginia,
- 20:39no Menager, all right? And how many pieces of paper
- 20:42did you write, Virginia? Like I said, I'm rounding it
- 20:46around three, Manager, three pieces of paper, Virginia. That's what
- 20:51I don't remember. To be exact on a number, I'm sorry,
- 20:54but over three pages. Manager. And you wrote those sometime
- 20:59in twenty eleven, Virginia the week that she was coming
- 21:03out to see me. Manager, and you gave them to her, right, Virginia,
- 21:07I gave them to her. Manager. Did you keep a
- 21:10copy of that, Virginia, No, Manager. Did you rip them
- 21:14out and make them look like they came out of
- 21:16a journal, Virginia, No, Manager, were you directed to make
- 21:21them look like they came out of a journal, Virginia, No, Manager,
- 21:25Do you know why your lawyer would have told the
- 21:27federal judge in New York that that's what you did?
- 21:31Edwards to this subjects to form, Virginia a lawyer in
- 21:35New York. Manager, Yeah, Virginia, rip them out of a journal.
- 21:40Manager said that you had. Do you know why she
- 21:43would have said that, Virginia. Maybe she thought I did, Manager,
- 21:49But you didn't, Virginia. They were just pieces of paper
- 21:53written for Sharon Churcher's purpose, manager, and not directed to
- 21:57look like they came from a journal. Virginia. Nobody told
- 22:01me to make them look like they came from a journal.
- 22:03There were just pieces of paper that I wrote down
- 22:06for Sharon Churchier. Manager. Did Glenn Maxwell tell redacted that
- 22:11you were sixteen years old? Virginia? No? I think I
- 22:15think they had played the guessing game and I was
- 22:17seventeen menager, and so Glenn Maxwell did not tell redacted
- 22:22that you were only sixteen. Edwards once again objects to
- 22:25the form speculation. Manager in your presence, Virginia, I don't
- 22:31remember the exact conversation. I just remember they liked to
- 22:34play the guessing game a lot, Menager. And so you
- 22:38don't recall Glenn Maxwell telling redacted in your presence that
- 22:42you were quote only really only sixteen, right, Virginia correct.
- 22:49I don't remember that, Menager, and if that were in
- 22:52the paper, that would be untrue. Correct, Virginia correct. Manager.
- 22:57I think now might be a good time for a break, Virginia,
- 23:01thank you, mister Edwards. Okay, sounds good, videographer. We're off
- 23:05the record at two forty five. We'll be back at
- 23:07two fifty five. They get back at two fifty five,
- 23:11and manager goes right back in to asking questions. Do
- 23:15you have any photographs of yourself, either nude or in
- 23:18a sexually compromising position, that you claim were taken by
- 23:22Gleane Maxwell? Virginia. I do not have any of those
- 23:26in my evidence, but if you ask Glane Maxwell, she
- 23:29would have plenty. Menager. Do you have any in your
- 23:32storage boxes in Sydney, Virginia, No, Menager. Do you know
- 23:37whether your attorneys have any such photographs that you claim
- 23:40were taken by Gallane Maxwell? Virginia, No, Menager, you don't know,
- 23:45or they don't have them. Virginia. I don't know, and
- 23:49I don't think they have them. If they have them,
- 23:51they would have told me. You should ask your client.
- 23:54She's got plenty of them. Manager. What type of camera
- 23:57did Glean Maxwell use? Virginia. It was a black camera
- 24:01and it had oh I don't know the types of
- 24:04names on it, but the lens that goes out, Menager.
- 24:07Was it digital or a single reflex? Virginia. Again, I
- 24:12don't know types of cameras. I mean, I use my
- 24:14phone for using a camera. So it's a black camera,
- 24:17and it had a lens that you could put out
- 24:19further or bring it back. Menager. Did you ask her
- 24:23to take any photographs of you? Virginia. No, she asked
- 24:27to take photographs of me. Menager. Was it a film
- 24:30or a digital camera? Virginia. I never saw how she
- 24:34printed them out? Menager, what's the first time you told
- 24:38anybody that you had been sexually trafficked? And once again
- 24:42Brad Edwards interjects that he objects to the form of
- 24:45the question. Virginia. Tony Figueroa, my ex boyfriend knew some
- 24:50of the stuff that was happening to me, though I
- 24:52did not go into great detail with him, being that
- 24:55he is my boyfriend. And then the first person I
- 24:58really opened up to about everything was my husband. Manager.
- 25:02Did you tell Tony Figueroa that you were forced to
- 25:05have sex with Jeffrey Epstein Virginia? Yes? Manager. Did you
- 25:10tell Tony Figueroa that you were forced to have sex
- 25:13with Glenn Maxwell? Virginia? Yes? Manager. Did you tell redacted
- 25:19that Glenn Maxwell sent you to have sex with famous people? Virginia? Yes? Manager.
- 25:25When did you tell redacted that Virginia during conversations like
- 25:29I'd call him from places that I was at and
- 25:32just talk to him, and like I said, I wouldn't
- 25:35get into great detail about things, but you know, I
- 25:38had to be with this person or that person today
- 25:41and menager interrupts her. Did you tell redacted not to
- 25:45call the police? Virginia? No. Redacted enjoyed his lifestyle with me,
- 25:50so he wouldn't have gone to the police. Manager. Did
- 25:53you tell redacted that you were sexually trafficked Virginia? You know,
- 25:57I don't know what I told her Redacted at the time.
- 26:00I know he asked me, and I think I told him,
- 26:02but I didn't get into detail with him. Manager, What
- 26:05do you think you told him, Virginia that I was
- 26:08just massaging these people? Manager? Did you tell them that
- 26:12you're what you were doing with Jeffrey Epstein Virginia? Yes? Manager.
- 26:18Did you tell redacted what you were doing with Glenn Maxwell? Virginia? Yes? Manager.
- 26:25Did you tell him what you were doing with other people? Virginia?
- 26:28I don't think I told him about many other people. No, Manager,
- 26:32What people did you tell him about? Virginia mainly Gallaine
- 26:36and Jeffrey? Manager? When did you tell him about that
- 26:40Virginia from the start? Manager? When was the start that
- 26:44you told him Virginia from I wouldn't say the first meeting,
- 26:48but I told him around that time. Manager. And what
- 26:51did REDACTA tell you to do? Virginia? He didn't mind
- 26:56what I had to do. Again, he was another guy
- 26:58that used me because I made lots of money and
- 27:01he didn't tell me to do anything. Now, just to
- 27:04interject here, imagine your girl comes home and tells you this.
- 27:08First of all, forget the police. If my girl shows
- 27:11up and tells me this at eight, I'm on Epstein's
- 27:14porch at nine talking about bitch, this porch is mine.
- 27:19I mean, are you for real right now, there's way
- 27:22too many scummy dudes out there that will just ride
- 27:25on the cotels of a woman who is being trafficked
- 27:28or selling her body, whatever it might be, as opposed
- 27:32to just going out and you know, getting a job. Menager.
- 27:35Did he tell you not to tell the police? Virginia, No,
- 27:38he didn't tell me not to do anything. Manager. Did
- 27:41he tell you to tell the police, Virginia, No, he
- 27:45did not tell me to do anything. Did he tell
- 27:48you to tell the police? Menager? Ass again, Virginia, Again,
- 27:52he told me not. He didn't tell me to do anything, Menager.
- 27:57When did you tell your parents you were sexually trafficked
- 28:00by Jeffrey Epstein, Virginia after I had my kids, Manager,
- 28:06after you had all three children, or after you had
- 28:08your first child? Virginia. I think after I had all
- 28:12three of my children. Manager. What was the last year
- 28:15in which you had a child, Virginia twenty ten. Manager,
- 28:19So you believe you told your parents sometime after twenty
- 28:22ten that you had been sexually trafficked Virginia. Yes, Manager,
- 28:27you didn't tell your parents that you had a lawsuit
- 28:30entitled Jane Doe two versus Jeffrey Epstein, in two thousand
- 28:33and nine, Virginia, I wasn't very close with my parents. Manager.
- 28:38Why not, Virginia, we just had a hard relationship. Manager,
- 28:43Why Virginia, because we did. I don't know why. Some
- 28:46people just don't get along. Manager. Do you get along
- 28:51with your parents now, Virginia. I get along with my
- 28:54parents now, yes. Manager. Okay, have you ever told anyone
- 28:58that you were a sex slave for four years? Virginia
- 29:02under the assumption that I got my dates wrong? Yes,
- 29:04I probably have, Manager, And that's not true, correct, Virginia,
- 29:10Not because I didn't mean it to be true, just
- 29:12because I didn't know my dates. Menager, So four years
- 29:16is not two years? Correct Edwards objects the form and
- 29:21then Virginia answers, four years is not two years. Manager.
- 29:25What did your parents say when you told them that
- 29:28you would have been sexually trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and
- 29:31Glenn Maxwell. Virginia. I believe they were disgusted. Manager. What
- 29:37did they tell you to do or not to do? Virginia.
- 29:40I don't remember the exact conversations that we had, but
- 29:43they weren't happy. Manager. Were they both on the phone
- 29:47at the same time, Virginia? No, Manager, who was on
- 29:51the phone first. Edwards objects to the form of that before.
- 29:55Virginia answers, I don't know, Manager, you were in Australia
- 30:00at the time, correct, Virginia, Yes, Manager, they were not Virginia. Yes. Manager.
- 30:06Have they ever been to see you in Australia, Virginia,
- 30:09my dad has. Manager. Has your mom ever been to
- 30:13see you in Australia? Virginia No, my mom is afraid
- 30:17of flying. Manager. When did your dad come to see
- 30:20you in Australia, Virginia the birth of my son, my
- 30:24first one, in two thousand and six, and then I
- 30:26believe in twenty ten when my daughter was born. Manager.
- 30:30And did you have this conversation with your dad about
- 30:33this in person or on the phone? Virginia. I've had
- 30:36conversations with them about it since. Manager. I'm talking about
- 30:40the first time you had a conversation with your dad,
- 30:44Virginia on the phone. Manager. What caused you to tell
- 30:47them in twenty ten, Virginia, I was just starting to
- 30:51accept what I had been through, I think for ten
- 30:56however long many years. I mean over ten years. I
- 31:00had to try to start a new life, become a
- 31:02new person, and I wanted to put all that stuff
- 31:04behind me and not think about it. But after you
- 31:07have children, something changes in you and you just want
- 31:10to stand up and do the right thing and protect
- 31:13any other children from having to go through this. Manager.
- 31:16Did you tell your parents how much money you received
- 31:19from your settlement with Jeffrey Epstein? Virginia. No, this is
- 31:24I think there's like a non disclosure statement. I don't
- 31:27know exactly what the legal term is. But manager, did
- 31:31you send any money to your parents? Virginia? No, I
- 31:34don't know. No, I've never sent money to my parents.
- 31:38Manager who is redacted Virginia one of redacted shady friends? Manager.
- 31:44Did you talk to redacted about your involvement with Jeffrey
- 31:48Epstein Virginia? No. Manager. Did you ever live with redacted Virginia? No.
- 31:54He used to come over to my house. Manager between
- 31:56two thousand and two thousand and two. Did you ever
- 31:59have any interactions with law enforcement? Virginia? Yes. Menager when Virginia.
- 32:07When I tried to break away from Jeffrey and Glane,
- 32:09I started making myself unavailable and I got a job
- 32:13at roadhouse. Grill and Tony used to come to pick
- 32:15me up in the afternoons at nighttime and he'd sit
- 32:18at the bar and there's this big cup that's got
- 32:21tips in it. I was in the back room. I
- 32:24had to first, you know, sign out, and you have
- 32:26to take off your apron, put it your apron away,
- 32:28and there's a whole bunch for the cleaning staff to do.
- 32:32In that time period, Tony grabbed money from a cup
- 32:35that had money in it that was for the bartenders
- 32:38for their tips. My boss called me the next day.
- 32:40He told me that I had stolen the money, which
- 32:43I hadn't. And I came back and I returned the money.
- 32:46After I confronted Tony about it, gave the money back
- 32:49to him, and he said, I'm sorry, but it's just
- 32:52law that I have to call the police. So he
- 32:55called the police, and knowing that Jeffrey has got Palm
- 32:58Beach Police Department in his pocket, I went to Jeffrey
- 33:01Epstein and I told them what happened, and Jeffrey said,
- 33:04don't worry about it. Let me take care of it
- 33:06for you. Manager. Okay, I'm sorry. When did you have
- 33:10interaction with law enforcement then, Virginia? What year, manager, did
- 33:15you speak with law enforcement officers Virginia? I don't believe
- 33:19I spoke with them. Jeffrey handled everything. Manager, Okay, And
- 33:23you said that you had finished your shift at this
- 33:25is at the roadhouse grill. Correct, Virginia. Correct, Manager, you
- 33:30had finished your shift, Virginia. Yeah, it was the end
- 33:33of the shift, Manager, okay, and you had cleaned up
- 33:36and we're checking out, correct, Virginia. Yeah. It's a completely
- 33:40separate part of the It's like the back of the house.
- 33:43Do you know what that means in waitering terms, Manager
- 33:47indicating Virginia, Yeah, the back of the house. Manager. And
- 33:51what was who was this boss that you spoke to, Virginia.
- 33:55I can't remember his name? Manager, Okay, Virginia, but I
- 33:59mean he was very nice. He didn't want to, but
- 34:02he just had to because it's just the law. You know.
- 34:05The money was returned to him, but he still had
- 34:07to do what he had to do. Manager. You paid
- 34:10him back the money the next day, Virginia, the very
- 34:13next day. Manager. And did you ever speak to the
- 34:16Palm Beach County Sheriff's office about it? Virginia? You know,
- 34:19I don't know if they called me or not, but
- 34:21I know that since my boss told me he had
- 34:23to call the police, I went to Jeffrey and Jeffrey
- 34:26said he'd handle it. Manager. How old were you at
- 34:30the time, Virginia. I don't know, eighteen, maybe nineteen. Manager,
- 34:34You weren't a juvenile, were you? Virginia? Well, juvenile being
- 34:38under eighteen? No? Manager, Is that the only interaction with
- 34:42law enforcement that you had between two thousand and two
- 34:45thousand and two? Virginia? Correct? Manager? Were you in fact
- 34:49charge with theft based on that case? Virginia? No charges
- 34:53wherever brought against me? Manager. Do you know if they
- 34:56were filed Virginia. No. Jeffrey told me he he handled it,
- 35:00and I never heard anything about it ever. Again, Manager,
- 35:04did you ever check to see if you had a
- 35:06warrant out Virginia? No. Jeffrey told me he took care
- 35:09of it. Manager. Do you think it's a problem to
- 35:12leave the country when you have an outstanding warrant? Brad
- 35:15Edwards objects to the form foundation lack of predicate Virginia.
- 35:20I don't think that I have an outstanding warrant. Why
- 35:22would I? Do you have a document that says I
- 35:25have an outstanding warrant? Manager, I'm just asking if you
- 35:29believe it's a bad thing to leave the country when
- 35:31you have an outstanding warrant. Virginia, Absolutely, Manager, and you
- 35:36would never assist someone in doing that. Correct, Virginia, Correct, Manager,
- 35:41during the year twenty fifteen, have you spoken to law
- 35:44enforcement about any other topic other than Glean Maxwell, Virginia
- 35:49in twenty fifteen, Manager, Uh huh, Virginia, did I talk
- 35:53to law enforcement about Glenn Maxwell, Manager about anything other
- 35:58than Golan Maxwell. Edwards once again objects, and I would
- 36:02just object at this point in time and instruct the
- 36:05witness not to convey any answers as to who she
- 36:08has or who she has not disclosed until such time
- 36:11as the court rules on the current outstanding motion. I
- 36:15know that we have some obligations to fulfill by the
- 36:18fourth we intend to do that, and I also recognize
- 36:21we may be back to answer some of these questions,
- 36:23but for today, she's not going to answer those questions. Menager. Well,
- 36:28I'm just going to ask them, and Edwards, I understand, Menager.
- 36:32Have you spoken to any law enforcement in Colorado since
- 36:35the beginning of January of twenty fifteen, Virginia. I can't
- 36:40answer that question right now, Edwards, Hold on a second,
- 36:44I may be able to get you an answer. To
- 36:46that question, Can I take Can I just take a
- 36:48quick break, and I think I can answer that particular
- 36:51question for you. Manager, I'm not asking you to answer
- 36:54any questions. Edward's fine, Manager, mister Edwards, Brad D Wward word,
- 37:00it's fine, Manager. I appreciate it. But I'm asking the
- 37:03witness to answer these questions. Edwards. I know, I'm just
- 37:06trying to help you out today. Edwards, then speaking to
- 37:09Virginia for today, don't answer the questions. Manager. So have
- 37:14you spoken to any law enforcement officers in Colorado since
- 37:17January of twenty fifteen until today? Virginia. I'm not answering
- 37:22that question. Manager. Have your attorneys spoken to any law
- 37:26enforcement officers in Colorado since the beginning of twenty fifteen
- 37:30until today? Virginia. I'm not answering that question. Manager. Have
- 37:34you been living with your husband in Australia since October
- 37:37of twenty fifteen, Virginia. Yes, all right. So we're gonna
- 37:42wrap up right there, and in the next episode we'll
- 37:44pick up where we left off. All of the information
- 37:48that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 37:51description box. What's up everyone, and welcome back to the
- 37:54Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're gonna dive right back
- 37:58in to that Virginia Robert's deposition and pick up where
- 38:03we left off. Have you been living with your husband
- 38:07in Australia since October of twenty fifteen, Menager asked, Virginia. Yes. Now,
- 38:14the next page here is all redacted, the whole entire
- 38:17page two forty six redacted. Menager then asked, has he
- 38:21paid his fines? Virginia, Yes, as far as I know,
- 38:25So whoever they were talking about in the redacted section,
- 38:28that's who they're talking about here. As far as paying
- 38:31their fines, Menager, describe for me the contract you had
- 38:35with the Mail on Sunday, Virginia. Could you be a
- 38:38little bit more specific, like, Menager? Have you had more
- 38:41than one contract with the Mail on Sunday Virginia? Well,
- 38:45there was one contract for the picture, and that was
- 38:47to pay me one hundred and forty thousand dollars for
- 38:50the picture, and then two stories were printed after that
- 38:53for the amount of ten thousand each. Manager. Is that
- 38:56the only money you received from the Mail on Sunday, Virginia? Correct? Menager?
- 39:01Did you receive any money for syndication of the photograph Virginia.
- 39:06Isn't that what the one forty was for? Menager? I'm
- 39:09asking you, Virginia, Well, I don't really know what syndication means. Manager.
- 39:15Did you have a written contract with the mail on Sunday? Virginia? Yes? Manager.
- 39:20Where is that contract right now? Virginia, I don't know.
- 39:24I've moved that many times. I lose paperwork wherever I go. Menager.
- 39:29Is it possible it's in the boxes in Sydney, Virginia,
- 39:32I don't think that I kept it, to be honest, Menager.
- 39:35Did you ever refer back to it after you signed it? Virginia?
- 39:39I know I kept it for a short while, but
- 39:41I mean, like I said, I've moved countries twice in
- 39:44the last two years and three different houses, so the
- 39:47paper trail is lost. I don't know where it would be. Manager.
- 39:51Did you receive it via email? Virginia? No, I received
- 39:55it Sharon Churcher handed it to me. Manager. Did you
- 39:58sign it, Virginia? I signed it, Manager, And then did
- 40:02you make copies of it? Virginia? No. Manager, you never
- 40:06had a copy of it, Virginia. Well, I had my
- 40:08own copy. I'm sure she has hers. Manager. Do you
- 40:12recall if there was a period of exclusivity Virginia, Yes, Manager.
- 40:17What was that period, Virginia, I believe it was like
- 40:20a three month period or something like that. Manager, Okay,
- 40:24And what other terms of the contract do you recall, Virginia.
- 40:28I couldn't talk to any other news publication about the story, Manager,
- 40:32anything else, Virginia, not that I know of. Manager. Were
- 40:36you happy when the period was up? Virginia, Well, I
- 40:40mean at that time, I wanted to write about my story,
- 40:42so I guess yes, I was happy when the period
- 40:45was up. Manager. And you were actively writing a book
- 40:49at that time, correct, Virginia, my manuscript, I've never published it, Manager,
- 40:55You were writing the manuscript at the time of your
- 40:57period of exclusivity with Sharon Church. Sure, correct, Virginia. Those
- 41:02three months were just craziness. I think I started after that. Manager.
- 41:06You think you started writing the book after the ninety
- 41:09days were up, Virginia, Yeah, Manager, And then you attempted
- 41:13to sell that manuscript, correct, Virginia. I didn't attempt to
- 41:17sell it. I went to other publications. Like what do
- 41:19you call them? People? I'm trying to think of the
- 41:21name of the word. People who published books, not like
- 41:24a newspaper or anything, and I inquired about what they
- 41:27thought of my manuscript and if they thought it was,
- 41:30you know, a good story, and yeah, Manager, So you
- 41:33sent the manuscript to these people for the purpose of
- 41:36trying to publish the book, correct Virginia, Yes, some people, Manager,
- 41:41and you were trying to get money from the book publication.
- 41:44Correct Virginia. Well, I wasn't going to sell it to
- 41:47them for free, Manager, But you were unsuccessful in finding
- 41:51someone to publish it. Correct Virginia. Well, I was always
- 41:54on the fence with it. I wasn't too sure if
- 41:57I wanted to do it or not. I was more
- 42:00or seeking judgment based upon these people who have done
- 42:02this plenty and plenty of times still to this day.
- 42:06I mean, I've had people who have been interested in it,
- 42:09and I still don't know if I want to do
- 42:11it yet. I mean, I think there's a lot more
- 42:14that can go into it. You know, Manager, you were
- 42:17actively sending the manuscript to people for purposes of having
- 42:20them reach a deal with you to publish it. Correct Virginia, No,
- 42:25a deal was never talked about. What we talked about
- 42:28was the possibility of publishing it. It was publishing worthy
- 42:33would I need to get a ghostwriter. You know, this
- 42:35is the first time I've ever written a manuscript, so
- 42:38I didn't know what I was doing. Manager, Okay, you
- 42:41contacted Jared Weisfeld. Correct. Virginia, Correct, Menager, I'm going to
- 42:47mark a document as defendants Exhibit sixteen. It is a
- 42:50composite exhibit Exhibit sixteen marked Edwards. Thank you. Manager. I'm
- 42:57not going to ask you to read every single page
- 42:59of this, but if you look at the first page, Virginia,
- 43:02uh huh, Manager, can you tell what this is in
- 43:06terms of what type of document? Virginia, It's an email
- 43:09from me to Jared. Manager, okay, and there's also emails
- 43:13from Jared to you on the same page. Correct, Virginia, yes, Manager.
- 43:19And can you tell I just presume that you know
- 43:21that you have turned over documents in this case? Is
- 43:24that true? Virginia? Yes? Manager, All right. Do you see
- 43:28at the bottom it's got your name and some page
- 43:31numbers in the bottom right hand corner. Yes, zero, zero, three, five, two, nine, Manager, right, Virginia, yes, Manager.
- 43:40So you understood that your lawyers sought from you emails
- 43:44for example, Virginia, yes, manager, and search your computer? Correct? Virginia, correct,
- 43:50manager and printed out emails correct Virginia, yes, Manager, and
- 43:56these look like some of the emails Virginia, yes, Manager. Okay.
- 44:00Do you have any reason to believe that the email
- 44:03is produced by your lawyers with your name on the
- 44:05email address line or anything other than your email? Virginia, No,
- 44:11they're my emails, Menager. Okay. Did anyone else use your
- 44:14email account? Virginia, No, Menager, Okay, Virginia, I mean, well,
- 44:19my husband uses it sometimes, my kids use it for games. Manager. Okay, Virginia,
- 44:25but that's it. Manager. So if an email is signed
- 44:29XOXO Jenna, Virginia, yes, manager, is that you Virginia correct? Manager?
- 44:36All right? And do you believe anyone else in your
- 44:38family was communicating with redacted? Virginia No, no one else
- 44:43was manager? All right. What was the purpose of you
- 44:46communicating with Jared Virginia. We were trying to figure out
- 44:50if my book was my manuscript was ever published or
- 44:54publish a bull And this was at the time that
- 44:57there was a lot of controversy about what's going on
- 45:00around Jaye. And when I say Jaye, I mean Jeffrey Epstein.
- 45:04It was a very scary thing for a lot of
- 45:06publishers to even consider taking it on, because Jeffrey is
- 45:10a very powerful person. Manager, Did you ever send the
- 45:13manuscript to Jared? Virginia, I believe I did, Menager, all right?
- 45:18Did you ask Jared to send it on to other
- 45:20people like Redacted? To this? Brad Edwards objects to form.
- 45:24Then Virginia responds, I can't. I can't recall. I believe
- 45:28I met redacted through Jared Menager. Okay, I'm going to
- 45:33ask you to turn two. Well on the first page,
- 45:36the second email says, is Epstein too big for redacted?
- 45:40Does that refresh your recollection that Jared and redacted had
- 45:44something to do with one another? Virginia, yes, Menager, okay.
- 45:48And on the second page, in the middle of the page,
- 45:51Just to be clear, is that an indication that redacted
- 45:54definitely does not want the book? XO XO Jenna. Is
- 45:58that what you wrote? Virginia, Yes, Manager, And these first
- 46:02emails are in two thousand July of twenty twelve. Correct, Virginia,
- 46:07yes again. Edwards objects on the apparent mischaracterization Manager of
- 46:13twenty twelve, Edwards being the first emails, Manager, I only
- 46:18meant the first pages of this composite exhibit. Edward's okay, Manager,
- 46:23but I appreciate your clarification. Edward's okay. Manager. The first
- 46:28email of this composite exhibit are dated July of twenty twelve. Correct, Virginia, Correct,
- 46:35and again an interjection from Bradley Edwards the first page
- 46:39as opposed to the first in the chronological timeline. Manager, Yes,
- 46:43Edwards responds, okay, manager. If you flip sort of anywhere
- 46:48towards the back, can you also see that there are
- 46:51emails between yourself and Jared in twenty eleven? Virginia, excuse me?
- 46:57And which page? Manager? Really? You can take your pick
- 47:00anywhere from the back of that exhibit. Virginia, Yeah, yeah,
- 47:04I see what you're talking about. Manager. Here, why don't
- 47:07I direct you to the bottom right is your email? Now,
- 47:11it's going to be a little tricky to find, but
- 47:13it's about eight pages, I'm sorry, six pages from the
- 47:16back of the composite exhibit. Virginia, Yes, manager, Do you
- 47:21see on that page an email from yourself to Jared
- 47:24from June of seventh of twenty eleven. Virginia, yes, manager,
- 47:29And in that email you right, Dear Jared Weisfeld, we
- 47:33spoke on the phone going back a couple months regarding
- 47:35the story I am writing called The Billionaires Playboy Club. Right, Virginia, Yes, Manager.
- 47:42I am no longer under any contract and would like
- 47:45to ask you to review my synopsis, and if you
- 47:47were interested, I would love for you to represent me
- 47:50as my literary agent. Correct Virginia, Correct manager. I've included
- 47:56some of the press that has covered ongoing cases of
- 47:59Jeffrey Epstein, the world's richest pedophile, and my good friend
- 48:02and journalist Sharon Churcher has a few from her articles
- 48:06that she has written to send you as well. Correct Virginia,
- 48:09Correct menager. I am very serious about getting my book
- 48:13published and believe this story will cover many genres of interest,
- 48:17not only by those following the lengthy case, but it
- 48:20is also a woman's story of glitz, glamour, sorrow, compassion,
- 48:24and true love. I hope you enjoy. Correct Virginia, Correct manager,
- 48:30signed yourself, Virginia, Yes Manager. Soon about June, you sent
- 48:35to Jared Weisfeld a synopsis and we're asking him to
- 48:38represent you as your literary agent to sell the book.
- 48:41Correct Virginia, Yes manager. And you characterize Sharon Churcher as
- 48:46your good friend, correct, Virginia, Well, at the time, you
- 48:50have to understand, Jared and Sharon are very close. Sharon
- 48:54is the one who introduced me to Jared, and that's
- 48:57just being nice. Menager, do you disagree that Sharon Churcher
- 49:01was your good friend at the time, Virginia, Well, at
- 49:04that time I did trust her a lot more than
- 49:06what I do now. Manager, Why did you change your
- 49:10opinion of Sharon Churcher, Virginia? You know, I just I
- 49:14think I think talking to some journalists can be very dangerous,
- 49:17especially sometimes how words can get taken out of context.
- 49:21And I'm not saying that she's a bad person. I'm
- 49:24just saying that's just I wouldn't call her up and
- 49:26ask her what she's cooking for dinner tonight or how
- 49:29her family is doing. Manager. Did you ever introduce her
- 49:33to your hairstylist, Virginia, No, Manager, all right, Virginia, Oh,
- 49:37actually yes I did. She did get a haircut where
- 49:40I was at Virginia. All right, Manager, So if I
- 49:44could have the emails with Paulo Silva, please, I'm going
- 49:47to mark these defend an exhibit eighteen seventeen. Oh, I
- 49:51don't know if that's if that's just one all right,
- 49:55Edwards interjects, what are we on now? Seventeen Manager, seventeen Manager?
- 50:01Very similarly, can you take a look at this exhibit.
- 50:04It is a composite of documents produced by your attorneys
- 50:07with various baits, ranges, bates numbers in between twenty seven
- 50:11fifty and thirty nine twenty eight. Virginia, twenty seven fifty
- 50:15and Manager. I think I think the last page is
- 50:20thirty nine to twenty seven, but it does not contain
- 50:22all of I'm sorry, thirty nine twenty eight, but it
- 50:25does not contain all of the pages in between. Just
- 50:27to let you know, Virginia, okay, is there one specific
- 50:31that you want me to look at? Menager? No, if
- 50:34you can just take a look at the first page, Virginia, okay, Manager,
- 50:39and tell me if you know who this person is. Virginia.
- 50:43Paulo Silva is somebody who works for the Mail on Sunday,
- 50:47and he was the one in charge of paying me. Manager,
- 50:50paying you for what, Virginia, the one hundred and forty
- 50:54plus the ten and the ten? Manager? Okay? And did
- 50:58he also pay you on the ongoing basis or further
- 51:00sales of the photograph of yourself and redacted. Virginia. No,
- 51:05it was a set fee of one hundred and forty
- 51:07plus the ten and the ten, but they broke it
- 51:10up for some reason, so you can see here. Thanks
- 51:12for transferring the money. I will let you know when
- 51:15it reaches my bank account. But just a little confused,
- 51:18as I have a previous email with the amount ode
- 51:20at forty one hundred. Is there still an outstanding amount
- 51:23yet to be paid? So they broke it up into
- 51:26quite a lot of different fractions, but it's still equaled
- 51:28the one forty plus the ten and the ten. Menager, Okay,
- 51:32if I could ask you to flip back to twenty
- 51:34seven to fifty eight, they're in sequential order, so it
- 51:37should be about eight pages back. Virginia. Yes, Menager, al right.
- 51:42Do you see Do you see that it's an email
- 51:44from Paulo Silva to your email account? Virginia, Yes, Manager, honor,
- 51:49about March twenty eighth, twenty eleven. Virginia, yes, manager, all right,
- 51:54and it appears to be his introductory email to you.
- 51:57Is that a fair characterization, Virginia, It would be hard
- 52:02to say. Like I'd never had to look at the
- 52:04first one, that's June twenty fourth. This is March twenty eighth,
- 52:08I suppose, So if he's introducing himself as Paulo Silva manager,
- 52:12all right, And in this email, he introduces himself by
- 52:15name and tells you that he works for Solo Syndication
- 52:19and represents they are the official syndication agency for Daily
- 52:23Mail and Mail on Sunday, and that he's been overseeing
- 52:26the syndication of your image. Correct Virginia, Correct manager, all right.
- 52:31Then he tells you that with regard to your image
- 52:33with redacted, he can confirm that they've been able to
- 52:37sell it frequently over the last couple of weeks, and
- 52:39he listed the names of various news agencies to whom
- 52:43they had sold the image, correct Virginia, Correct manager. And
- 52:47then he tells you that the sales were as of
- 52:50last Friday. And then what your share of it is,
- 52:52correct Virginia, Correct manager. In your share of it was
- 52:56approximately half of whatever the cells were, correct Virginia. Yes,
- 53:00it looks that way, manager, all right. And so then
- 53:04he gave you their general payment terms, correct Virginia, Yes, yep, manager,
- 53:10And that is the syndication deal separate and apart from
- 53:13your deal with Mail on Sunday to get paid for
- 53:16the stories and the chunk. Virginia. Yes, Manager for the image, Virginia,
- 53:21So I will have to correct my previous statement. Manager, Okay, Virginia,
- 53:26So I forgot completely about the fact that I received
- 53:28four thousand, four hundred and eighty seven dollars and fifty
- 53:31cents for the pictures that got sold, Menager. And it
- 53:36is possible it was sold some more after that date
- 53:38for which you receive some money. Correct, Virginia, I don't
- 53:42believe so. I didn't even remember this one, to be honest.
- 53:45So if there's any others that you can show me,
- 53:47I'd be happy to look at them. Manager. Well, I'm
- 53:51just asking if you remember what the terms of your
- 53:54agreement with this syndication solo syndication, Virginia. Well, like you said,
- 53:58it looks like half a of in regards to your
- 54:01image with redacted, I can confirm we've been able to
- 54:05sell it quite frequently over the last few weeks. So far,
- 54:08we've been able to sell it to the following clients
- 54:11and then it lists names. So far, the total sales
- 54:13as a Friday is the number listed there. Therefore, your
- 54:17share is four thousand, four hundred and eighty seven dollars, menager.
- 54:22So let me be clear, I guess I'm asking do
- 54:25do you recall what your deal was with Solo Syndication? Virginia. No,
- 54:30I do not recall it. I just remember Sharon writing
- 54:34up the contract saying one hundred and forty plus the
- 54:37ten and the ten. I completely forgot about the syndication
- 54:40for four thousand and four hundred and eighty seven cents. Menager. Okay,
- 54:45I'm going to ask you to turn back to twenty
- 54:47seven to fifty four, Virginia. Twenty seven to fifty four, menager, Correct, Virginia, okay.
- 54:55And it's a document with a heading Solo Syndication Limited.
- 54:59Is that the right page you're on? Virginia, Yes, Manager,
- 55:03dated May twenty third, twenty eleven. Correct, Virginia, yes, Manager,
- 55:08all right. And there's some handwriting in the middle of
- 55:10the page, towards the bottom. Virginia, not my handwriting, Manager,
- 55:14it's not your handwriting, Virginia, No manager. Do you know
- 55:17whose it is? Virginia? No manager? All right, Virginia. I
- 55:22don't even know what it says. Does it say CHI
- 55:25canceled and something? Mode? I have no idea what it
- 55:29even says. Manager, Okay, and it's not your handwriting, Virginia. No, Manager,
- 55:34it was produced by your attorneys, correct, Virginia. I'm sorry, Manager,
- 55:38it was produced by your attorneys, correct, Virginia. Yes, they
- 55:43went through and gave you, guys everything you asked for. Manager.
- 55:47All right, Since these emails come from your email address
- 55:50to and from Paulo Silva, do you have any reason
- 55:52to doubt that they are your emails? Virginia, I have
- 55:56no reason to doubt. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap
- 55:59up right there, and in the next episode, we're going
- 56:01to pick up where we left off. All of the
- 56:04information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 56:07the description box.
