- 1:29Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:34Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium, and so we can you can see us.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We can't see you, but we can hear you. We
- 1:40Speaker 1: can read you. Uh, and we'll be here for the
- 1:42Speaker 1: next two hours. It's Tamaraw, it's Paul, it's me, It's
- 1:45Speaker 1: Matt and Nabooth. Evan and Deuce are in Green Bay
- 1:49Speaker 1: and at some point this show, we're gonna hear from Deuce,
- 1:52Speaker 1: you think.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Well, so yeah, I think, Mike. But I'm hoping because
- 1:56Speaker 4: yesterday went very long, that practice about two and a
- 1:58Speaker 4: half hours yesterday. So if it's something like that again
- 2:01Speaker 4: today that they either are going to have to cut
- 2:05Speaker 4: their watching short and going they called chime in, yeah
- 2:08Speaker 4: can't they called during well you know you know those
- 2:10Speaker 4: two like they can't miss a play.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You can't you can't watch and talk at the same
- 2:15Speaker 1: it was actually going on. Just we're gonna hope that
- 2:19Speaker 1: we hear from them, but we'll talk about the practice yesterday,
- 2:24Speaker 1: the reports that came out, and according to some of
- 2:26Speaker 1: the reports, as we were talking earlier, Paul, anything happened.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yeah, basically you thought it happened yesterday, tomaraw it happened
- 2:35Speaker 4: because I read it somewhere vastly different, uh impressions of
- 2:40Speaker 4: the Brown.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You can find a report that will match anything that
- 2:43Speaker 1: you wanted to happen, literally, including the Maario Douglas getting
- 2:46Speaker 1: all the reps with the starters.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And then there was another report that didn't get any no,
- 2:51Speaker 3: and then there was another report that said he like
- 2:53Speaker 3: went four for five or whatever Zappi and only got
- 2:55Speaker 3: one play with the starters. And I'm like, which one is?
- 2:57Speaker 3: It can't be both.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's so I read a lot of different people because
- 3:04Speaker 4: this is a rare time, Freddy, I don't miss too
- 3:06Speaker 4: many training camp.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Practices over the years, yep.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So I wanted to read as many different people to
- 3:12Speaker 4: try to it seems like the Patriots offense got off
- 3:15Speaker 4: to a really good start. They were crisp and efficient
- 3:19Speaker 4: to start the first eleven on eleven and it gradually
- 3:22Speaker 4: went downhill from there and most by most accounts, the
- 3:26Speaker 4: biggest reason for that was pass protection. The offensive line
- 3:29Speaker 4: really struggled. They're still missing some pieces and they had
- 3:34Speaker 4: a hard time getting the ball down the field. But
- 3:36Speaker 4: there were some things to take away on the positive
- 3:38Speaker 4: side as well, so we're going to get to all
- 3:39Speaker 4: that as we go. Defensively, surprisingly so the pass rush
- 3:44Speaker 4: was good, but other than that, the secondary struggled a
- 3:48Speaker 4: little bit, which I was not anticipating. So it sounded
- 3:50Speaker 4: like the defense had a tough day.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Okay, I will say going into it. When I was
- 3:54Speaker 3: talking to Evan before they left, he said he was
- 3:56Speaker 3: more worried about the secondary being able to face you know,
- 3:58Speaker 3: the two wide receivers that Green Bay does have. He said,
- 4:01Speaker 3: you know, both of them were going to be a handful,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and I'm interested to see what they have to say after.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Watching to take those two guys were used to it.
- 4:08Speaker 4: If those two guys are a handful, then we got trouble, yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 4: because they're gonna.
- 4:12Speaker 1: They're going to be facing some really good receivers with
- 4:15Speaker 1: some really good quarterbacks.
- 4:17Speaker 4: So you know, I mean, you got a quarterback first time,
- 4:22Speaker 4: first year starter in two second year receivers that had
- 4:26Speaker 4: decent rookie years but nothing too special. But it seems
- 4:32Speaker 4: like from all accounts, everybody agreed the pass rush on
- 4:35Speaker 4: both sides controlled things, and the Packers offensive line was
- 4:40Speaker 4: missing pieces too, so it was hard to sort of
- 4:44Speaker 4: gauge everything because of the pressure of the quarterbacks were under.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Were they hitting at one hundred percent? Not the quarterback, No,
- 4:50Speaker 1: But in terms of you know, running game or tackling,
- 4:54Speaker 1: no tackling, no tackling. Yeah, So there wasn't any like
- 4:58Speaker 1: goal line or red you know.
- 5:00Speaker 4: There was a lot of red zone, but I don't
- 5:02Speaker 4: think there was any goal line live goal line plays
- 5:05Speaker 4: unless they didn't write about it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Okay. Uh.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And then Zeke was there.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Zeke was there wearing number fifteen. You got a new guard. Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 4: You see the size of him.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He's a huge Zeke. Yeah. Yeah, he's a big guy.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Now he did have like sweatshirt, like a long sleeve
- 5:21Speaker 4: whatever underneath, so I think he looked a little bit bulkier,
- 5:24Speaker 4: but yeah, he looked big.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, what is he? I mean, I know, we goes
- 5:28Speaker 1: at it like two twenty twenty five I think, And
- 5:31Speaker 1: then height wise, what is he six to one? Is
- 5:34Speaker 1: he that tng?
- 5:35Speaker 3: We just look at him, Yeah, well he looks it up.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I will say one report that everyone Well, one topic
- 5:41Speaker 3: that everyone was on the same page on was kind
- 5:43Speaker 3: of the shock of Mac Jones finally talking about what
- 5:45Speaker 3: it's like to follow in Tom Brady's footsteps, which I
- 5:47Speaker 3: thought was interesting, of all days for it to come
- 5:49Speaker 3: up yesterday.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Well, you know, Jordan Love is following in Aaron Rodgers footsteps,
- 5:53Speaker 1: so it's a natural question, you know. But yeah, this
- 5:58Speaker 1: is really the first time he's talked about that.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Six foot two, twenty five. Yeah, he was asked that question.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Fred's Wright in relation to any advice he could give
- 6:09Speaker 4: to Jordan Love following I don't really think it's the
- 6:13Speaker 4: same because I kind of think Mac Jones followed Cam Newton.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I don't really think it's the same kind of situation.
- 6:20Speaker 1: You could make that case. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So that
- 6:25Speaker 1: was and then other news yesterday, Robert Kraft was in
- 6:28Speaker 1: the mix for snubbed coach contributor to the Hall of
- 6:32Speaker 1: Fame and didn't get in. Buddy Parker got in.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Congratulations to Buddy Parker. Buddy Parker's family.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Has been dead for forty forty years.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I thought it was a strange, not that I think
- 6:44Speaker 4: he's not deserving, because I've been read and I have
- 6:48Speaker 4: no idea either, but reading some stuff about him, he
- 6:51Speaker 4: is widely considered the inventor of the two minute drill.
- 6:54Speaker 4: You know, I mean that's a pretty significant the Hall
- 6:56Speaker 4: of Fame. No, I'm just saying it's a pretty significant
- 6:59Speaker 4: contribute to the game.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Okay, No, that's fine.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean if you wanted to be like that,
- 7:05Speaker 4: you know, like that gets you to all of it?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Well, what did like Robert Craft introduced to the game?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Money making it better? You know, doing all those.
- 7:13Speaker 4: No, I'm not this is not an argument, but just
- 7:16Speaker 4: was kind of a snarky comment, like he gets in
- 7:17Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame for that? No, listen, yeah, I
- 7:19Speaker 4: kind of think you should get in the Hall of
- 7:20Speaker 4: Fame for things like that. And I would I would say,
- 7:22Speaker 4: shame on the committee for forty years. If he actually
- 7:25Speaker 4: is the inventor of the two minute drill and it
- 7:27Speaker 4: took him forty years after his death to get in
- 7:29Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame, right, that sounds kind of silly
- 7:31Speaker 4: to me. That was more of a shot at the
- 7:32Speaker 4: committee than any I understand.
- 7:34Speaker 1: But like again, you know me about halls of fame,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I don't think any owner should get into the Pro
- 7:40Speaker 1: Football Hall of Fame. I would agree with you, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: unless you know they were our boss. Yeah, unless they
- 7:46Speaker 1: became they were a coach first or a player and
- 7:49Speaker 1: they you know, they contributed. It's the Pro Football Hall
- 7:52Speaker 1: of Fame. It's what your contribution is to pro football.
- 7:56Speaker 4: You know.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think Robert Craft had a lot of contribution to
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know, absolutely to pro football in the NFL, you know,
- 8:03Speaker 1: in all the help he did at the committee level, you.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Know committee, yea. I thought he lent a lot of expertise.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Like Jerry Jones is in the Hall of Fame. Jerry
- 8:13Speaker 1: Jones did a lot for the Cowboys, and he did
- 8:15Speaker 1: a lot for Jerry Jones.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Did a lot for the league. He did a similar
- 8:19Speaker 4: kind of stuff introduced when he goes rogue and he
- 8:23Speaker 4: introduces his own you know, uh deals. What do you
- 8:26Speaker 4: think that paved the way for everybody else to do it?
- 8:29Speaker 4: It paved the way put a lot, I mean to
- 8:31Speaker 4: your point, to put a lot of money in owner's pockets, right, right,
- 8:34Speaker 4: But that helps the league. Well, the more money there
- 8:38Speaker 4: is fred, the better of the league.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Yeah. But I you know, I would also say that,
- 8:42Speaker 1: you know, like Paul Tagliboo's in the Hall of Fame.
- 8:44Speaker 1: He shouldn't be. He did his job. Pete Roselle should
- 8:47Speaker 1: be because of what he did getting the get all
- 8:50Speaker 1: the games on free TV and all that stuff, you know.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So I don't know, I have a high bar. I
- 8:56Speaker 1: have a high bar with lock stuff, you know. But
- 8:59Speaker 1: I think robber Craft should be in before Buddy Parker.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry. If it took him forty years, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: it's I would agree with one of those things when
- 9:06Speaker 1: you see it, you know, And the fact is it
- 9:09Speaker 1: took them forty years after his death to put him in.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Probably shouldn't be in.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Sorry, I would agree wholeheartedly with that assessment. Like, to me,
- 9:18Speaker 4: what changed in I don't want to not trying to
- 9:20Speaker 4: be like snarky, but what changed in forty years?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Right?
- 9:23Speaker 3: It's almost like someone forgot and then they're, oh, oh.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Yeah, Buddy Parker.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So and I'm sure there are a lot of writers
- 9:31Speaker 1: are like, you know, the one hundred million people that
- 9:33Speaker 1: follow the NFL, you don't know history of the game,
- 9:36Speaker 1: but we do, so we're gonna put in Buddy Parker. Please.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Overthinking it, overthinking it.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I think that's a perfect example of that over overthinking
- 9:47Speaker 4: it and I'm sure there are a lot of people
- 9:49Speaker 4: that have been out of the league for thirty, forty
- 9:52Speaker 4: fifty years that belong or deserve to be. There should
- 9:56Speaker 4: be some way to just sort of fix those errors
- 9:59Speaker 4: and not really have them be part of this process.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Like to me, Tom Kafflin, Mike Shanahan, Marty Schottenheimer, Robert Craft,
- 10:06Speaker 4: these are the guys that you should be thinking about
- 10:08Speaker 4: in assessing, not guys that have been out of the
- 10:10Speaker 4: league and unfortunately, in Parker's case, not with us, no
- 10:14Speaker 4: longer with us for forty years.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So I was thinking that, you know, I guess after
- 10:19Speaker 1: Pat Bowling gut and he was the owner of the Broncos,
- 10:22Speaker 1: this one they changed. They changed the contributor thing to
- 10:27Speaker 1: coach and contributor. So now they're all in the same bucket,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and they used to not be. So now I think
- 10:33Speaker 1: it's harder for an owner to get in because you're
- 10:35Speaker 1: going up against coaches, you know that have more direct
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know, influence, and players and teams. So conceivably there
- 10:46Speaker 1: could be a day where Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick
- 10:49Speaker 1: are on the same ballot to get into the Hall
- 10:52Speaker 1: of Fame.
- 10:53Speaker 6: That could happen.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Hopefully, they Fred really wants to start trouble.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I mean, hopefully they separate it and have contributor contributors.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Well that's the way it used to be, but now yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think so. Can you imagine that who should go
- 11:05Speaker 1: in first? I mean imagine talk radio if that ever happens,
- 11:09Speaker 1: like the.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Debates, I feel like it would have to be Craft
- 11:11Speaker 3: in first because Craft hired him, like, he brought him here.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So it's like you wouldn't be here without him.
- 11:16Speaker 1: You could, Yeah, you can make that case that, Like
- 11:18Speaker 1: you know, you were you had your chance at Cleveland,
- 11:22Speaker 1: it didn't go well, you were back to being iordinator,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and then Robert Craft took it, not only hired him,
- 11:28Speaker 1: gave up a first round pick and a lot of
- 11:30Speaker 1: money in order to get him here. Like the faith
- 11:32Speaker 1: he put in him to get him here. You know
- 11:35Speaker 1: that a lot of people criticized him at the time,
- 11:38Speaker 1: told him it was a terrible decision, Bill, terrible decision.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Absolutely, that part is one thousand percent.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's why I think he should be in first.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, why, I mean, I think he should be in
- 11:50Speaker 1: first because I think you should be in first.
- 11:52Speaker 4: You know, I think you should be in first because
- 11:54Speaker 4: I think he's a strong and powerful man.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, conceivably that could happen, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: which would be really weird. Yeah. Anyway, Yeah, so practice yesterday,
- 12:09Speaker 1: they're out there today. We're gonna hear from Doucer Evan
- 12:12Speaker 1: at some point during the show, and then we have
- 12:17Speaker 1: a new segment that we're going to be doing right
- 12:19Speaker 1: and about the midway mark. Instead of listening to a
- 12:22Speaker 1: whole bunch of commercials, we've got something different.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Matiz Bauman's hot takes?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Do you want to preview that? Like you know, like no,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you don't have to play it, but just tell us
- 12:32Speaker 1: it's what it's about.
- 12:33Speaker 8: So matise our very own faith Worl and Dylan from
- 12:37Speaker 8: the content team, they are giving hot takes and talking
- 12:40Speaker 8: about it and they are they're funny.
- 12:43Speaker 5: So it's like a show within a show, the show
- 12:45Speaker 5: within the show.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And is it gonna get us in trouble because the
- 12:50Speaker 1: controversial or anything.
- 12:51Speaker 8: No, you could get controversial with you guys, Okay, you
- 12:54Speaker 8: could start disagreeing with that.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I know at some point we're going to be giving
- 12:57Speaker 1: away stuff during.
- 12:58Speaker 8: That segment starting with the next episode. Okay, it's just
- 13:01Speaker 8: the introductory.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So it's not just to have new people talk. They're
- 13:04Speaker 1: going to be out there giving things away.
- 13:07Speaker 4: So I got a street team.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so I know we've had a lot of people
- 13:10Speaker 1: saying they haven't gotten their T shirts, so we'll have
- 13:13Speaker 1: another opportunity to not send people T shirts.
- 13:16Speaker 4: I see like the the envelopes with the T shirts
- 13:21Speaker 4: in the back and back of Matt back there, so
- 13:23Speaker 4: like he's yeah, he definitely took it to heart.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Freak.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah, he's when you said we really should strive for
- 13:28Speaker 4: one hundred percent. I think that one left like.
- 13:29Speaker 1: A fulfillment set.
- 13:30Speaker 5: They just had to resend their addresses.
- 13:32Speaker 1: That left the mark.
- 13:33Speaker 7: I love it.
- 13:35Speaker 3: One quick update on Jack Jones. Obviously we talked about
- 13:38Speaker 3: that briefly in the last show.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Big update. It is an update.
- 13:40Speaker 3: It is an update that you know the court date
- 13:43Speaker 3: is rescheduled and most are insinuating that that means maybe
- 13:47Speaker 3: a plea is on the table.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Good to bad Fred that that was pushed back for him.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It's good, is it? Yeah? It's in the season. Yeah,
- 13:55Speaker 1: but now you at least he played in the Eagles game.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Oh so you think he gets a game man. Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 4: My My original thought on that is, like that now
- 14:05Speaker 4: it's in the middle.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Of the season. Yeah, after the season started. In the
- 14:09Speaker 1: actual it'll still bear watching about, you know, how much
- 14:12Speaker 1: reps he gets, who's he playing with, to see like
- 14:16Speaker 1: what investment they're making.
- 14:18Speaker 4: And that still concerns me, yeah, because he's still you know,
- 14:21Speaker 4: we're not supposed to use starters, backups those terms, but
- 14:24Speaker 4: he's still not really with the regulars on a consistent basis, right.
- 14:29Speaker 4: He evidently struggled a little bit yesterday too, and had
- 14:32Speaker 4: had a few fights as well. He was getting into
- 14:37Speaker 4: it with a receiver or a rookie receiver and then
- 14:39Speaker 4: a rookie quarterback. He started yelling.
- 14:42Speaker 1: At like, I'm all for the fire. I don't think
- 14:44Speaker 1: there was any of this, but there was.
- 14:46Speaker 4: There was nothing too bad.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I know he's always the one. Well it's too much.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Yeah, him and individually he needs to relax. I mean
- 14:54Speaker 4: in general, I know, you know, everybody clutches their pearls
- 14:57Speaker 4: when pro football players proud against each other and there's
- 15:00Speaker 4: a fight, And I didn't know that would never happen
- 15:03Speaker 4: here except for like the last six times we've had
- 15:05Speaker 4: joint practices exactly, there have been fights. Because there are
- 15:08Speaker 4: fights when guys get together, they're going to be fighting.
- 15:10Speaker 1: My first day of practice, I almost done into a fight.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 15:13Speaker 1: No, I it was you know, it was a stand
- 15:15Speaker 1: up drill and I was playing linebacker and the running
- 15:17Speaker 1: back came through and I might have hit him a
- 15:19Speaker 1: little bit too hard. You know, you weren't supposed to
- 15:21Speaker 1: and he took exception to that.
- 15:22Speaker 4: There was throw the ball at you.
- 15:24Speaker 1: No, there was some pushy. It wasn't No blows were thrown.
- 15:27Speaker 1: But you know, my first practice, I really didn't know
- 15:30Speaker 1: what I was doing.
- 15:31Speaker 3: You know, I'm still stuck on Paul saying clutch his pearls.
- 15:34Speaker 3: I don't know why, but every time I hear that,
- 15:36Speaker 3: it just makes me giggle.
- 15:37Speaker 1: A little bit. Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I'm an old soul. I didn't have anything
- 15:43Speaker 4: modern to give you.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I love it. Also, we haven't really talked about this.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Maybe we haven't talked about it. We have talked about it,
- 15:48Speaker 3: but I haven't been here. What's going on with John Jones?
- 15:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a that's another good question. It's like seven
- 15:54Speaker 4: or eight practice. I think today will be eight in
- 15:55Speaker 4: a row. And when he first wasn't available at that
- 16:00Speaker 4: I think it was like a Sunday that he wasn't available.
- 16:03Speaker 4: It was oh no, it was the night, it was
- 16:05Speaker 4: the Ian Stadium practice. Nothing, just ve veteran time off.
- 16:10Speaker 4: And now it's you know, over a week later and
- 16:12Speaker 4: we still haven't seen him. And I think part of
- 16:15Speaker 4: I think the secondary struggled a little bit yesterday from
- 16:17Speaker 4: what I read, and I think that's a huge part
- 16:19Speaker 4: of it because you have Marcus Jones playing a lot
- 16:22Speaker 4: on the outside. He struggled. Christian Gonzales had his hands
- 16:25Speaker 4: full a little bit yesterday as well. But I think
- 16:30Speaker 4: Jonathan Jones just slots guys and without him, you know,
- 16:34Speaker 4: everybody is up a notch. I have a developing taken
- 16:36Speaker 4: depth in the secondary. Freddy, Yeah. I think Sean Wade
- 16:39Speaker 4: is a guy who we haven't really talked a lot about.
- 16:42Speaker 4: It seems like he's he definitely played well the last
- 16:45Speaker 4: handful of practices that we got to see here in
- 16:48Speaker 4: Foxborough when it sounds like he made some plays yesterday
- 16:51Speaker 4: as well. Could he take a spot away from a
- 16:53Speaker 4: guy like Miles Bryant. Yeah, I'll tell you why. I
- 16:58Speaker 4: think that is the whole thing about inside and outside. Like,
- 17:02Speaker 4: I think Wade has the size to be able to
- 17:04Speaker 4: play on the outside, and Marcus Jones doesn't, Miles Bryant doesn't.
- 17:09Speaker 4: They have to play sort of in the slot, and
- 17:12Speaker 4: I think to be most effective, and they might need that. Yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 4: they might need a guy who can play outside.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And let's fill people in a little bit on his
- 17:21Speaker 1: history here. You know, he came in what they pick
- 17:24Speaker 1: him up on waivers, they trade for him.
- 17:27Speaker 4: They traded for him two years ago.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Right, he was he was a first round pick. No, no, no,
- 17:33Speaker 1: But he was highly recruited though, wasn't he.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Yeah, he was a fifth round pick of the Ravens.
- 17:38Speaker 4: He was going to get cut as a rookie. He's
- 17:41Speaker 4: not having a good camp, right, and they traded him
- 17:43Speaker 4: for a conditional pick to the Patriots. And he's played
- 17:46Speaker 4: very little in his two.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Seasons, and he hasn't you know, when he's in he
- 17:49Speaker 1: hasn't played well. No.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, he had a tough day I think in Buffalo
- 17:54Speaker 4: last year in that last game, I think he gave
- 17:55Speaker 4: up one of the bombs.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like it seems like he gets in and
- 18:00Speaker 1: he's immediately involved in a in a play for the
- 18:03Speaker 1: other team. But maybe maybe maybe all of a sudden,
- 18:07Speaker 1: the light's going off and it happens. I thought maybe
- 18:09Speaker 1: all of a sudden he's getting it.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I thought he was around the ball a lot the
- 18:12Speaker 4: last handful of practices.
- 18:13Speaker 1: We love to see here.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Some people it takes a little longer, and I think
- 18:17Speaker 4: his size could give them more depth outside than Bryant
- 18:22Speaker 4: or Marcus Jones, you know, especially if Jack Jones is
- 18:25Speaker 4: out of the equation. Now it looks like I think
- 18:27Speaker 4: Tomorrow is right. That's the way everybody's writing it is that.
- 18:30Speaker 4: I think Mike McCann sort of said, this is an
- 18:34Speaker 4: indication that could possibly lead to, you know, him playing out,
- 18:39Speaker 4: which I wonder how that works for the Patriots, because
- 18:41Speaker 4: if you plead, if he agrees to a deal, doesn't
- 18:45Speaker 4: that like wouldn't you think they would have to admit guilt?
- 18:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, a plea deal, you know, there's it's you know,
- 18:52Speaker 1: it's not gonna be a plea and you get off
- 18:53Speaker 1: Scott free. It would be a plea that either large
- 18:57Speaker 1: no jail, yeah, or less time or no jail time
- 19:01Speaker 1: with with parole, maybe community service, which that's easy. You
- 19:06Speaker 1: do that anyway when you're on the Patriots. But you
- 19:09Speaker 1: know he's going to have to do something.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Well, if he's going to have I wouldn't agree to
- 19:13Speaker 4: a plea deal that involves jail time if I were him,
- 19:16Speaker 4: because that ends his NFL career.
- 19:18Speaker 7: It does.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, So we'll see what happens here. I mean, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 1: we're we're hearing that it could be a plea deal,
- 19:26Speaker 1: but it could be just you know, other technicalities.
- 19:30Speaker 4: This could be a lot of things. I'm just going
- 19:32Speaker 4: by Mike McCann. I think Tamara's right. That's what Mike McCann,
- 19:35Speaker 4: who's a local sort of sports legal, sports expert, I
- 19:40Speaker 4: think he's right.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 19:41Speaker 4: I think something from him on Twitter today. I think
- 19:44Speaker 4: he's teaching a class at Harvard Law.
- 19:46Speaker 1: At Harvard, yes, because I think he started at un H,
- 19:49Speaker 1: right or something like that. I think you're right. Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Also, Paul, I like your take two about him potentially
- 19:54Speaker 3: taking Miles Bryant spot because now we have so many
- 19:57Speaker 3: more additions on special teams that can return punts, like
- 20:00Speaker 3: Miles Bryant was doing that occasionally. Even so yesterday Kean
- 20:03Speaker 3: White was returning punts, which is covering punts. I mean,
- 20:07Speaker 3: just like the different people that are returning punts, whether
- 20:10Speaker 3: it be Douglas, whether it be Bolden, whoever.
- 20:12Speaker 4: It is Bolden and Speed, Yeah, I think.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Bolden, Speed.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Both of those guys have special teams ability. They have,
- 20:20Speaker 4: in Bolden's case, return ability. So it's like, yeah, I
- 20:25Speaker 4: can I can take out a backup cornerback who can
- 20:28Speaker 4: return punts to put another guy in who could play
- 20:30Speaker 4: special teams and return punts, you know, in in Isaiah Bolden.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, so a lot of options. There a lot
- 20:38Speaker 1: of options. What about Mac How did he look yesterday?
- 20:42Speaker 1: From reports?
- 20:44Speaker 4: He was a little up and down, but he had
- 20:46Speaker 4: he had his moments.
- 20:47Speaker 1: It was funny.
- 20:47Speaker 4: This is another one of those things that I think
- 20:49Speaker 4: depending on who you read. I read a couple of
- 20:52Speaker 4: people that said that he looked like some of the sacks,
- 20:55Speaker 4: some of the pressure was on him because he wasn't
- 20:57Speaker 4: getting the ball out on time and in rhythm, And
- 21:02Speaker 4: I read other places, including Evan, that talked about that
- 21:07Speaker 4: being a strength that he did a good It looked
- 21:09Speaker 4: like he had did a good job of getting the
- 21:12Speaker 4: ball out before breaks and putting the ball on him,
- 21:14Speaker 4: had a little bit extra velocity on some of his throats.
- 21:17Speaker 4: So I think it's gonna be one of those things,
- 21:20Speaker 4: depending on who you believe.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And everybody's favorite backup, Malie cunning him how did.
- 21:26Speaker 4: He do four snaps all runs?
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 21:29Speaker 3: Okay, did anyone talk about you know, if they can
- 21:32Speaker 3: actually see what's going on? Is that why there's so
- 21:34Speaker 3: much like unpredictability and like the reports. Can everyone actually
- 21:37Speaker 3: see because you know, not raidorstorm.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I didn't hear any complaints about you know, where they
- 21:41Speaker 1: were watching practice from.
- 21:44Speaker 4: No, I didn't hear any it just they were field level,
- 21:46Speaker 4: I think, which kind of makes it a little bit challenging.
- 21:49Speaker 4: But I didn't hear anybody.
- 21:51Speaker 3: So to Matrow's point, radors joint practice, we couldn't see
- 21:53Speaker 3: it at all, So I was like wondering if it was
- 21:56Speaker 3: the same thing, and maybe that's why it's just a
- 21:58Speaker 3: rollercoaster of responses to practice.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Well, I know we got into a little thing yesterday.
- 22:02Speaker 1: We were told that once the team's got together, we
- 22:05Speaker 1: weren't allowed to shoot photos or video either team, and
- 22:10Speaker 1: then lo and behold, packers had photos and video. So
- 22:15Speaker 1: I understand that today we're going to be able to
- 22:18Speaker 1: shoot the whole practice. Oh so hopefully that comes about
- 22:24Speaker 1: and you'll see a bunch of stuff on Patriots dot com.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Do you think there will be any worry, so to speak,
- 22:30Speaker 3: after these joint practices if the olon continues to play
- 22:33Speaker 3: the way it does. And do you think there'll be
- 22:35Speaker 3: some sort of movement to potentially get some help there
- 22:39Speaker 3: or do you think they'll just ride it out and
- 22:40Speaker 3: hope for the best with the people on the PUP journey.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing. If it all depends on health.
- 22:47Speaker 1: If guys who are on PUP doesn't look like they're
- 22:51Speaker 1: going to be getting better, I think they have to.
- 22:53Speaker 1: But otherwise I think they're going to ride it out
- 22:56Speaker 1: with who they have and hope that they improve.
- 22:58Speaker 4: And what are the things that came up out of yesterday?
- 23:01Speaker 4: Was that Michael when you is there? Which I took
- 23:06Speaker 4: I took as a positive sign. Sure, we've seen Cole
- 23:09Speaker 4: Strange pretty much every every day since he got hurt.
- 23:12Speaker 4: He's been around. I haven't seen a lot of a WNU.
- 23:14Speaker 4: He's he made the trip and I guess he was
- 23:17Speaker 4: on the field and sweats, so maybe that's an indication
- 23:19Speaker 4: that he's getting closer. And they do think that they'll
- 23:23Speaker 4: be ready for week one.
- 23:24Speaker 1: That's good.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I did see someone just tweet that Connor McDermott left
- 23:27Speaker 3: practice earlier there today.
- 23:30Speaker 4: I saw that he left yesterday nothing okay, hopefully.
- 23:35Speaker 1: It's not all right.
- 23:37Speaker 4: But so the offensive line to me if if you
- 23:39Speaker 4: have brown strange Andrew's a WHENU and it still looks
- 23:45Speaker 4: like crap, then you have a major concern. But I
- 23:47Speaker 4: think until you see that group out there struggling, I'm
- 23:50Speaker 4: not as worried about it. If that does that make sense,
- 23:53Speaker 4: that makes that's too optimistic for me. Fred No, I
- 23:55Speaker 4: mean should I rethink.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that group should be okay, they should be okay.
- 24:02Speaker 4: But I mean I think that's much like the receivers.
- 24:05Speaker 4: I don't think it's the best group in the league,
- 24:07Speaker 4: but I think it's.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Enough to we've had worse.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it's enough to have success with.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Oh wait, we haven't talked about receivers yet. I did
- 24:13Speaker 3: see Parker had a that that seemed to be another
- 24:17Speaker 3: person that everyone was kind of crossed the board like
- 24:19Speaker 3: they had.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Everybody said that he was the best receiver for the
- 24:22Speaker 4: Pago yesterday.
- 24:23Speaker 1: That's you know. The rebuttal to Demario Douglas having a
- 24:25Speaker 1: career day was no, he wasn't the best receiver on
- 24:28Speaker 1: the field.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Parker was like even Mike and Evan, who have been
- 24:32Speaker 4: head of head of the class of the to Mario
- 24:36Speaker 4: Doug Douglas Bandwagon, didn't say much about the Mario Douglas
- 24:39Speaker 4: Yesterday Booty and that first that first period that they
- 24:43Speaker 4: had that was the most successful to day. Evidently Kaishawan
- 24:46Speaker 4: Boody caught like four passes. He was his most active
- 24:50Speaker 4: that they've seen in eleven on elevens according to Heaven.
- 24:54Speaker 1: So they they practiced for almost three hours yesterday.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I probably won't there's another one. Yeah, So I two
- 25:00Speaker 4: hours and twenty seven minutes. I said, I don't know
- 25:03Speaker 4: like that, you know, like four hours like Mike Rees
- 25:06Speaker 4: said two hours twenty seven minutes.
- 25:07Speaker 1: That to me is that's gold state. That's it.
- 25:09Speaker 4: That's what I go by. But yeah, at Fred's right,
- 25:11Speaker 4: I heard three.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Hours, three hours. Yeah, Like they.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Couldn't even agree on how long the practice was.
- 25:16Speaker 1: It's something, isn't it.
- 25:17Speaker 3: That's why I was like, can they not see like
- 25:20Speaker 3: is it? I'm just yeah, have.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Questions, like I guess maybe if you count arrival standing
- 25:26Speaker 1: around at the beginning after practice, you know, when they
- 25:29Speaker 1: break up into the little group sometimes signing autograph, maybe
- 25:33Speaker 1: that whole duration was three hours, But I'll go with Mike.
- 25:37Speaker 4: You know, he's and I'm pretty sure what I saw. Well,
- 25:41Speaker 4: I don't know if that was I don't know if
- 25:42Speaker 4: he made that public. He might have sent me something
- 25:46Speaker 4: I missed. I just missed with my diet PEPSI. It's
- 25:50Speaker 4: almost impossible to not get it in from there, and
- 25:52Speaker 4: it went on the backside.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Let's just get him the two liter bottle.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Let's just putting No, that's that's for the second half
- 25:58Speaker 4: of the show. Relaxed after after that's after fred food.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Fred's food comes.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
- 26:05Speaker 4: So a couple of the things that I thought were
- 26:08Speaker 4: interesting coming out of the like the health is is
- 26:10Speaker 4: obviously the health in the upfront, but on the positive side,
- 26:16Speaker 4: Keon White continues to be active. Dietrich wise, I guess
- 26:19Speaker 4: had a really uh really good day pressuring the passer.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Judon as always was what was up there. So I
- 26:25Speaker 4: thought that the uh, the pressure on the pass or
- 26:28Speaker 4: the Patriots put for the front seven was was a
- 26:30Speaker 4: real strong point on on defense.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I think this front seven could be good.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I really, I really, I'm intrigued by what they could
- 26:37Speaker 3: be this season. That they all remain healthy, like far
- 26:39Speaker 3: more included like if they can have a whole season.
- 26:42Speaker 1: With all of them.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Barmore was good yesterday too.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Yeah, so far More and White as interior sub rushers
- 26:49Speaker 4: to me is intriguing.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I remember when they had it was Warren,
- 26:58Speaker 1: will Fork and Seymour. That was you know, all three
- 27:02Speaker 1: of them first round, first round picks. That was a
- 27:06Speaker 1: nice a nice defensive line. This one could get up there.
- 27:10Speaker 1: But I think what would happen is so you've got
- 27:14Speaker 1: Keon White and you've got bar More, and I think
- 27:18Speaker 1: what makes it really good is Judeon you know, when
- 27:22Speaker 1: he's you know, coming.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Up on the other side, so you have some balance,
- 27:27Speaker 4: you know, if things fall into place.
- 27:30Speaker 1: So it's not they're not all tackles, but I think,
- 27:33Speaker 1: you know, those core people really make could make this
- 27:36Speaker 1: a formidable front seven.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, different style, but much more conducive to today's football.
- 27:43Speaker 1: This group. So I'm I'm I'm excited about that. A
- 27:48Speaker 1: little bit disappointed to hear about the secondary, but like
- 27:53Speaker 1: you said, well, Jonathan Jones out there kind of puts
- 27:55Speaker 1: some people in the wrong position.
- 27:58Speaker 4: But if you want the worry to me and the
- 28:00Speaker 4: secondary would be the big plays they allowed, and then
- 28:02Speaker 4: you wonder how much of that is the absence of mccordy,
- 28:06Speaker 4: And they're still searching for that free safety. They've used
- 28:09Speaker 4: a lot of different guys. They've used the mall, you know,
- 28:12Speaker 4: Jalen Mills, Phillips, Dougger in Peppers. They've all had chances
- 28:19Speaker 4: to be back there. And you wonder if that had
- 28:22Speaker 4: something to do with the struggles for Gonzales yesterday and
- 28:25Speaker 4: Jack Jones yesterday on some deep balls.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yep, yep, all right? Eight five to five Pats five
- 28:31Speaker 1: hundred is the ace ticket hotline, web radio at Patriots
- 28:34Speaker 1: dot com. Is the email address? Any other thing? Oh?
- 28:37Speaker 1: By the way, from what I understand, the implosion of
- 28:41Speaker 1: the Jets has begun.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Oh so I wanted to ask you, did you watch
- 28:45Speaker 4: did you see any.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Of the stuff about this? I saw some of the
- 28:48Speaker 1: episode two.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Oh no, okay, are you talking about the joint practice?
- 28:54Speaker 4: Rick Stroud, who's a long time Bucks beat writer and
- 28:58Speaker 4: one of the really good ones that's been doing it
- 29:01Speaker 4: for a while in the NFL, tweeted out that the
- 29:05Speaker 4: Bucks are working with the Giants today rather than do
- 29:10Speaker 4: the second day with the Jets, which is an arrangement
- 29:13Speaker 4: that was agreed upon in March. Okay, everybody else is
- 29:17Speaker 4: saying the Jets bailed on the Bucks. Okay, if it
- 29:23Speaker 4: was agreed upon in March, right, Like I don't really understand.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I need this is one of those I have my
- 29:28Speaker 4: hand up in the back. I need more information.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't even know anything about that.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Like if I'm supposed to kill the Jets, I want
- 29:33Speaker 4: to know I'm supposed to kill the Jets. I want
- 29:35Speaker 4: to go all fred.
- 29:36Speaker 1: I hate them. But one of your guys, Paul phil
- 29:40Speaker 1: Perry said on one of his shows yesterday that he
- 29:44Speaker 1: said the same thing I said.
- 29:45Speaker 4: No, everybody is saying it for because that's the only
- 29:47Speaker 4: way you can possibly think that the Patriots are better
- 29:50Speaker 4: than No, but just by telling you that they're going
- 29:51Speaker 4: to fall apart.
- 29:52Speaker 1: He's saying it's because of the coaches. He said, the
- 29:54Speaker 1: coaches are a mess. They're making too much about things.
- 29:59Speaker 1: They're too you know, sticking their chests out. The defensive
- 30:02Speaker 1: coach is talking about peeing on children's toys and like
- 30:07Speaker 1: saying like ridiculous things like that. That just took a turn. Yeah,
- 30:10Speaker 1: like it's it's it's just nuts and that's what I'm
- 30:14Speaker 1: talking about. That's the impression I got out of episode one.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I heard episode two was more of the same, you know,
- 30:20Speaker 1: And he said, if they're mugging, whether they're mugging for
- 30:23Speaker 1: the camera or holding back because of the camera, either
- 30:26Speaker 1: one's not good. You know.
- 30:28Speaker 4: I don't really know what that has to do with anything.
- 30:30Speaker 4: I really, I just don't.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Mean if your coaching staff isn't good, it has nothing
- 30:33Speaker 1: to do your.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Coaching staff isn't good, then yeah, that's a problem. You know,
- 30:36Speaker 4: I'm talking about mugging for cameras or not. Well, that
- 30:39Speaker 4: to me, that doesn't mean anything.
- 30:41Speaker 1: It means that they're not focused on what they should
- 30:43Speaker 1: be focused on. Why does that mean that because they're
- 30:46Speaker 1: they're thinking too much about the cameras. Okay, no, no,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I don't think that thinks that all back to.
- 30:53Speaker 3: The joint practices. Why would you only agree to have
- 30:55Speaker 3: one and then make them go all the way back
- 30:57Speaker 3: to Florida to come all the way back up here.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It's very odd.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Yeah, they didn't go back. They went they were with
- 31:03Speaker 4: the Giants.
- 31:04Speaker 3: It's like, why would you do that as the Jets
- 31:06Speaker 3: to force them to even come back?
- 31:08Speaker 4: But why I agree upon that in March and then
- 31:11Speaker 4: have people say, well, they flaked on him and said
- 31:14Speaker 4: they're not going to do too Like someone said that
- 31:16Speaker 4: they weren't just the Jets weren't disciplined enough to have
- 31:18Speaker 4: two days in a row of practice. Now that might
- 31:20Speaker 4: be true, that might have happened. I know there were
- 31:22Speaker 4: a lot of fights in that practice too. All these
- 31:25Speaker 4: joint practices are filled with. If they're not flat out fights,
- 31:29Speaker 4: there's a lot of pushing. You see the thing that
- 31:32Speaker 4: the figure who it was, there was a pass rush
- 31:36Speaker 4: one on one that the defensive guy came over and
- 31:40Speaker 4: he sort of was bull rushing the offensive line and
- 31:43Speaker 4: they got kind of tangled up, and then the defensive
- 31:46Speaker 4: guy took like a little shot at the guy and
- 31:48Speaker 4: one of the guys that wasn't even in the drill
- 31:51Speaker 4: came flying out and buried them, like just buried them.
- 31:55Speaker 4: It's good stuff.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I liked it.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Physicality. You can't do that to your team the other.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Guys, I know.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I will say our best joint practice was against the Raiders.
- 32:04Speaker 3: It was clean.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, what was the one where I think it was
- 32:08Speaker 1: born got into it on the side that was that
- 32:11Speaker 1: wasn't It was all kinds of fights.
- 32:13Speaker 4: And Carolina also had that you know, that hit on
- 32:17Speaker 4: Wilkerson Christians that that knocked him out and actually kind
- 32:20Speaker 4: of ended his career. He got a concussion was placed
- 32:23Speaker 4: on ir and we haven't really heard from him since.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Right, and then that guy was kicked off their team
- 32:26Speaker 3: that did that.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not good. You know. Again, I'm all for
- 32:31Speaker 1: competitiveness and fiery and all that stuff, but that's not productive.
- 32:34Speaker 1: It's stupid. You know, you're letting your emotions get the
- 32:38Speaker 1: best of you. There's other ways to handle it, you know.
- 32:43Speaker 1: It just takes the time that you have in just
- 32:46Speaker 1: you know, uh, it's a waste. It wastes time, it
- 32:50Speaker 1: does so. But glad to see the Jets having trouble.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's it's it's better than if it
- 32:56Speaker 4: was going swimmingly, right, I'm telling you, I really I
- 33:00Speaker 4: think that's the only hope.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You know, your team takes on the characteristics of its leaders,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and if the coaches are acting like ooh, it's going
- 33:08Speaker 1: to trickle down to the players.
- 33:12Speaker 4: I think that's what you have to hope for.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm hoping for it.
- 33:16Speaker 4: I don't think you can hope to just go out
- 33:17Speaker 4: there and man on man and beat them. I'm praying
- 33:19Speaker 4: for I think you have to hope that they fall apart.
- 33:21Speaker 3: I still need to go watch that first episode the
- 33:23Speaker 3: two out now I think so.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Chris were the Tia n rights and no idea
- 33:27Speaker 1: if the Jet's coaches are good or bad. But the
- 33:29Speaker 1: decoordinator is a tool, total meathead with every cliche in
- 33:33Speaker 1: the book. Also like ours, their O line sucks, Rogers
- 33:36Speaker 1: explodes by game five, and it's all downhill from there.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Please God, here it is.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah, there's the game plan for the twenty twenty three Patriots.
- 33:45Speaker 4: If everybody else implodes.
- 33:47Speaker 1: At least them, at least them, it's just it's shortened freight.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Well, I just want to be good. I don't really
- 33:53Speaker 4: care about who's not good. I want the Patriots to
- 33:56Speaker 4: be good.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I want the Patriots to be good, and I
- 33:58Speaker 1: want it.
- 33:59Speaker 6: Just to be bad.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Root for both.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Yeah, but they're not going to be bad. They have
- 34:03Speaker 4: to implode to not That's what I want.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I'm hoping for that. Why can't I wish for that?
- 34:09Speaker 4: You can? I just would rather just be better than them?
- 34:12Speaker 4: Why can't it be both?
- 34:13Speaker 1: Paul?
- 34:14Speaker 4: Okay, whatever, I don't really take much solace in beating
- 34:17Speaker 4: a team that wasn't trying and implode it. I takes
- 34:20Speaker 4: I take the Jets. I take solace and being better
- 34:23Speaker 4: than than. You're trying to be too fair. You're trying
- 34:26Speaker 4: to be too fair. I'm not being objective. I want
- 34:29Speaker 4: I want. I'm not being fair or I want nothing.
- 34:33Speaker 4: I want my team to be better than that. Yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 4: I want nothing, but it's not an objective about that.
- 34:37Speaker 4: I want nothing but bad things for them. No, that's fine, nothing,
- 34:41Speaker 4: that's fine. I don't I think of Miami the way
- 34:43Speaker 4: you think of the Jets. But I would rather be
- 34:46Speaker 4: better than the teams, like you know, kind of a
- 34:48Speaker 4: Brady era. That was the beauty of it. It didn't
- 34:50Speaker 4: matter what they did because I was better now. But
- 34:52Speaker 4: that's what I want.
- 34:53Speaker 1: My fear with the Jets is they've got so much
- 34:56Speaker 1: talent that they're going to overcome the nonsense.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Well, well that's my point about I don't really care
- 35:01Speaker 4: what's going on in hard knocks, like do they play well?
- 35:04Speaker 4: Does does Rogers play well? Because if he does, it's
- 35:07Speaker 4: not really gonna matter what he did in August to
- 35:09Speaker 4: mug for a camera.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I'm just it's just it's good stuff to talk about.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I like it.
- 35:13Speaker 4: They have offensive line issues too, it seems like everybody does.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh eight five five pass five hundred. Web radio
- 35:20Speaker 1: at pages dot com is the email address. Let's get
- 35:23Speaker 1: people involved here. We'll go to the ACE ticket hutline.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Christian from LA's on the line. What's up, Christian?
- 35:30Speaker 9: Hey you guys.
- 35:31Speaker 10: Good mine and we get close.
- 35:33Speaker 11: I'm close with Pudney actual season star.
- 35:35Speaker 10: And so here's my my quick bold prediction is, by
- 35:40Speaker 10: I guess the fourth game, DeVante Parker.
- 35:42Speaker 11: Will be hurt and Booty will take over as.
- 35:44Speaker 10: The high points or kind of a young receiver that
- 35:47Speaker 10: steps up for it. I'm going to leave you guys
- 35:50Speaker 10: with with that and get back to it.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Okay, thanks, thanks, I mean could happen, although Booty would
- 35:57Speaker 1: probably have to be on the he said Parker. I
- 36:01Speaker 1: think he said. By the fifth game, Parker is hurt
- 36:03Speaker 1: and Booty takes over.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Hm hmm, okay, then they're in real trouble. Why did
- 36:10Speaker 4: you think how many like rookies are gonna be playing
- 36:12Speaker 4: prominent roles?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Well, I think he's thinking a little bit different style,
- 36:19Speaker 1: but I think would have to start on body.
- 36:23Speaker 4: But Booty is like what Tamara said, Booty is more
- 36:25Speaker 4: like Juju. He's like a physical slot receiver.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I think so well then, But.
- 36:31Speaker 4: My point is, you want Douglas to be a part
- 36:34Speaker 4: of the offense, you want Booty to be part of
- 36:36Speaker 4: the offense, and we're looking for a jump for Taekwon Thornton.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Like that sound like a great recipe for a great
- 36:42Speaker 4: offense to have all these young guys. Now, maybe they
- 36:45Speaker 4: all work. I don't know. Other teams seem to be
- 36:47Speaker 4: able to get young receivers that make immediate impacts. But yeah,
- 36:51Speaker 4: I mean I haven't seen that really with the Patriots.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Todd's in North Carolina.
- 36:55Speaker 12: Hey Todd, Hey, guys, are you doing okay in your
- 36:59Speaker 12: local alarmist? As you know? And when Evan says his
- 37:02Speaker 12: hand is over the panic button with respect to the
- 37:04Speaker 12: offensive line, it kind of is alarming. So I would
- 37:08Speaker 12: heard you guys talk a little bit about it, like
- 37:10Speaker 12: how far away are we from just having a disaster
- 37:12Speaker 12: season because we just can't blog somebody like one injury
- 37:15Speaker 12: or do we have enough depth to maybe handle two injuries?
- 37:19Speaker 12: I don't know. I'm just you know, when Evan said something.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Like that, kind of I don't think it'll be because
- 37:23Speaker 4: of the offensive line. I'm on record as saying I've
- 37:26Speaker 4: seen a lot of teams have a lot of success
- 37:27Speaker 4: with terrible offensive line play. Okay, most recently the Cincinnati
- 37:33Speaker 4: Bengals in the Super Wow.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I was going to say, usually when that happens, it's
- 37:36Speaker 1: because the quarterback can correct adapt.
- 37:40Speaker 12: Yeah, So are we dependent on our line because we
- 37:44Speaker 12: don't have a quarterback that can adapt it?
- 37:45Speaker 1: I think I think yeah. I think the less individual
- 37:50Speaker 1: skill that your quarterback has, the more reliant you are
- 37:53Speaker 1: on your offensive line giving him time.
- 37:56Speaker 12: So then we're having to worry about, you know, maybe
- 38:00Speaker 12: maybe seeing the leak more or something to try to
- 38:02Speaker 12: throw off people or like this. This is kind of concerning.
- 38:05Speaker 12: I don't understand exactly what he said because he mentioned
- 38:08Speaker 12: some stuff.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Well, it's I think a lot of it has to
- 38:11Speaker 1: do with, you know, getting the ball out of Max's
- 38:13Speaker 1: hands quickly, having him be decisive, and you know Bill
- 38:17Speaker 1: O'Brien scheming right.
- 38:19Speaker 4: And the reason why I think it's a problem is
- 38:22Speaker 4: todd because I don't think they have dynamic playmakers now.
- 38:26Speaker 4: The easy retort to my Kansas City and Cincinnati Super
- 38:30Speaker 4: Bowl trips with bad offensive lines is Yeah, Kansas City
- 38:33Speaker 4: went with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelcey and Patrick Mahomes
- 38:38Speaker 4: and Cincinnati went with Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and
- 38:42Speaker 4: t Higgins. The Patriots don't have those, so they're going
- 38:45Speaker 4: to have a harder time overcoming average to below average
- 38:49Speaker 4: offensive line play than those teams would. And I agree
- 38:52Speaker 4: with that.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Brentson Reno, what's up, Brent?
- 38:56Speaker 11: Hey, guys, I'm just going a quick question for you.
- 39:00Speaker 13: Found out I got a baby coming in March, and
- 39:02Speaker 13: I just want to know how early it is too
- 39:04Speaker 13: early for me to get the Patriots logo tattooed on
- 39:07Speaker 13: said baby.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing, you know, besides the pain, the
- 39:12Speaker 1: baby's going to get bigger and the tattoo is going
- 39:15Speaker 1: to stay the same size, So you probably want to
- 39:17Speaker 1: wait until he or she fills out four four five yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 1: years old?
- 39:22Speaker 4: Yeah, four months?
- 39:23Speaker 1: Okay? Anything?
- 39:24Speaker 14: Yeah?
- 39:26Speaker 4: What now are you thinking like upper thigh, shoulder, you know,
- 39:31Speaker 4: back shoulder blade? What are we thinking? Him?
- 39:33Speaker 3: This is like I was I was thinking. He was
- 39:35Speaker 3: asking like how early is too early to get him
- 39:38Speaker 3: or her a Patriots unfiltered shirt? That's what I thought.
- 39:41Speaker 1: That was never too early for that, right, yeah, yeah,
- 39:45Speaker 1: but what are we thinking, Brent, like back shoulder?
- 39:48Speaker 13: Well, you know, I'm a sailor, so you gotta be careful.
- 39:51Speaker 13: You know, how how accurate do you want me to
- 39:54Speaker 13: describe the answer to that question? Let's just go ahead
- 39:57Speaker 13: and stay the left shoulder, you know, like maybe maybe popeye.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but.
- 40:04Speaker 13: Thank you guys for doing that.
- 40:06Speaker 15: It'll be.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Congratulations, Brandeis congratulations.
- 40:12Speaker 1: All right? Brett and Reno thinking ahead?
- 40:16Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, never never.
- 40:17Speaker 1: To baby tattoos. You can get those, you know, the
- 40:21Speaker 1: fake tattoos that you put on.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Maybe maybe you should try to start off with that,
- 40:25Speaker 4: something that's a little less permanent.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Tattoos like semi permanent.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Although well I know those, but you know the ones
- 40:31Speaker 1: that come on a piece of paper.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, I might want to start with one
- 40:35Speaker 4: of those. Uh we otherwise morel will be the as
- 40:40Speaker 4: has the uh well the.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Expert marines getting real tattoos, right, he has the ink? Yeah?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Well the then Phillim, what's up, William?
- 40:50Speaker 10: What's going on? How going?
- 40:52Speaker 1: All right?
- 40:53Speaker 10: All right? Questions? Football? Whatnot?
- 40:57Speaker 3: Oh?
- 40:59Speaker 10: Can I can I just be honest?
- 41:01Speaker 1: What was our god?
- 41:04Speaker 10: Damn this team? Oh my god, Okay, so you said,
- 41:11Speaker 10: I'm hearing that the secondary is getting a little bit exposed.
- 41:14Speaker 10: Could that be also because of last season? Your corners
- 41:18Speaker 10: are too short? Marcus Jones? What Bobby yeh Jones?
- 41:26Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I think that. You know, Gonzales is bigger
- 41:29Speaker 4: six to one. That's why he was a first round pick. Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 4: but yeah, I'm not I didn't. Let's not make this
- 41:36Speaker 4: out to be like there's a lot of concern about
- 41:38Speaker 4: the secondary. I think the secondary had a little bit
- 41:39Speaker 4: of an up and down day yesterday, and I wasn't
- 41:42Speaker 4: really expecting that because the defense has been pretty good
- 41:46Speaker 4: throughout the summer, and I thought, you know, the defense
- 41:48Speaker 4: struggled a little bit based on what I've read now,
- 41:50Speaker 4: I didn't see any of it with my own eyes,
- 41:53Speaker 4: So you know me, Fred, I'll let you know when
- 41:56Speaker 4: I see it.
- 41:56Speaker 1: But here's the thing. I'll go on, you know with
- 41:59Speaker 1: that former know formidable front seven. Once you get into
- 42:03Speaker 1: real games and quarterbacks can really get hit, that's when
- 42:07Speaker 1: it'll help our secondary.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Oh for sure.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Two. Okay, go ahead, do you leave? Thank you might
- 42:16Speaker 1: still there, William.
- 42:18Speaker 4: I think you might have dropped off.
- 42:19Speaker 1: A bad connection. I guess, all right, call back if
- 42:22Speaker 1: you want. Patty's an agawam. What's up? Patty? Hey, what's up? Guys?
- 42:27Speaker 16: What's up to Mara?
- 42:28Speaker 1: Hi?
- 42:31Speaker 14: So I'm not really counting on the Jets to implode
- 42:34Speaker 14: this year. We probably you know, I'm with you. You know,
- 42:38Speaker 14: the Dolphins been my my NFL Yankees since I became
- 42:41Speaker 14: a huge Patriots fan. But they're the team I think
- 42:45Speaker 14: that like, and I'm not I think two was a
- 42:48Speaker 14: good quarterback.
- 42:49Speaker 9: I do.
- 42:50Speaker 14: I don't think he's the same guy since he hurt
- 42:51Speaker 14: his hip, But I mean, you just do you see
- 42:53Speaker 14: the difference with him in there?
- 42:54Speaker 4: And yeah, like last year it was night and day
- 42:59Speaker 4: when he is out. But they also really didn't have
- 43:02Speaker 4: you know, you know, you have a rookie seventh round
- 43:04Speaker 4: pick in Skyler Thompson trying to play. I would think
- 43:07Speaker 4: that Mike White would give them a better opportunity to
- 43:11Speaker 4: sort of move the ball a little bit. To me,
- 43:13Speaker 4: the big thing with with Miami will be this year. Obviously,
- 43:16Speaker 4: Patty's right, I mean, two was health is number one.
- 43:18Speaker 4: But the biggest the you know, just as big for
- 43:21Speaker 4: me as the impact that Vic Fangio can have on
- 43:24Speaker 4: the defense. Does he make them noticeably better defensively, because
- 43:28Speaker 4: they were a train wreck defensively last year and still
- 43:32Speaker 4: found a way to win nine games or whatever many games.
- 43:34Speaker 4: I think they went nine to eight. So and if
- 43:38Speaker 4: you can keep the quarterback healthy, you can outscore you know, eleven,
- 43:42Speaker 4: you know, ten, eleven, twelve teams. But at some point
- 43:46Speaker 4: you've got to be able to play some defense too,
- 43:47Speaker 4: and it'd be interesting to see if Fangio can do
- 43:50Speaker 4: that with them. Yeah, Patty, oh there he is. I
- 43:55Speaker 4: was like, I want okays for having sa Sell issues.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I think. Yeah. James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriots fan
- 44:02Speaker 1: of the world, says, what did Robert introduce to football? Paul?
- 44:05Speaker 1: He brought us the world's original podcast? Now, I was Fred. Now, Well, listen,
- 44:11Speaker 1: we all work for Robert Craft, and if it wasn't
- 44:14Speaker 1: for him, nothing would be possible, right, correct, So got
- 44:19Speaker 1: to give him his due. There you go. Web Radio
- 44:25Speaker 1: at Patriots dot com is the email address. Let's see.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Nathan writes in he says he listened back to Tuesday
- 44:32Speaker 1: show and it's a little bit annoying that fans are
- 44:35Speaker 1: wanting cunning him as QB two and seem to want
- 44:38Speaker 1: to push Zappi out on what evidence can people suggest
- 44:41Speaker 1: it that we saw him play against a bunch of nobodies.
- 44:44Speaker 1: At least with Zappy, he is a solid backup. He
- 44:46Speaker 1: can play in the NFL as a backup, as we've
- 44:48Speaker 1: seen when he stepped in for Mac last year. Mac
- 44:51Speaker 1: is clearly QB one and Zapi has to be QB
- 44:54Speaker 1: two as we know he can step in if Mac
- 44:56Speaker 1: gets hurt. I think, Nathan, you're taking a little bit
- 44:59Speaker 1: too seriously. I know there's a lot of people.
- 45:02Speaker 4: No, I don't think that's taking it too seriously. A
- 45:04Speaker 4: lot of people think that he should be the backup.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I know, but yeah, serious people, Yes, yeah, not just
- 45:12Speaker 1: you know.
- 45:14Speaker 4: A lot of people think he should be the backup.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Just a couple of quick notes here, Evan Lazar red
- 45:19Speaker 4: zone offense lit it up against Green Bay. Mac and
- 45:24Speaker 4: Zappy both touchdowns to Juju Bourn two to Parker, two
- 45:28Speaker 4: to Douglas.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Ferkser for Parks Wow. And Zeke had a rushing touchdown Wow.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Also by that, I think we're winning forty five to nothing.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Mark Daniel's another fight, another fight. I don't know what
- 45:40Speaker 1: the first one was. Anthony Jennings just leveled number fifty
- 45:43Speaker 1: one for the Packers, which key Shawn Banks after he
- 45:45Speaker 1: took a swing at Keon White during a special teams drill.
- 45:49Speaker 1: So yeah, things are getting uh, things are getting frisky, Okay,
- 45:54Speaker 1: all right? Interesting, can't wait to hear from one of
- 45:57Speaker 1: our guys when they.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Called Andrew Callahan, Pat's red zone thoroughly dominated. So that's good.
- 46:03Speaker 3: So take their hand off of the panic, which.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Is generally what they do.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I saw that Greg Badad wrote this today and I
- 46:09Speaker 4: holdeartly agree that's been their pattern in joint practices a
- 46:15Speaker 4: lot lately. Not every time, but they have a tough
- 46:17Speaker 4: first day and they bounce back a little bit better
- 46:19Speaker 4: in the second day.
- 46:20Speaker 1: So so far it seems like, so this is about
- 46:22Speaker 1: an hour into practice, you would say, yeah, yeah, so.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Uh oh what Kevin Lazaar Taekwon Thornton leaving practice after
- 46:32Speaker 4: making a diving catch and a deep ball looked like
- 46:34Speaker 4: they were checking out his shoulder. I can't, So, you
- 46:41Speaker 4: know what, I'm going to stay off at Twitter and
- 46:43Speaker 4: wait for them to call in because I'm just gonna
- 46:45Speaker 4: drive myself.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I just I just can't with him.
- 46:48Speaker 3: It's good to hear that from the offense though, that
- 46:50Speaker 3: they're finding a way to you know, find production with
- 46:53Speaker 3: this offensive line that is working through some things.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Kyle and Pembroke says, While I'm hyped about Pop Douglas,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't think he'll be a major contributor, which in
- 47:02Speaker 1: his case would be fifty plus catches. I think he'll
- 47:06Speaker 1: really step up next year and use this season to
- 47:09Speaker 1: learn and development develop. Do you agree?
- 47:12Speaker 4: I think that's more realistic is that it would take
- 47:15Speaker 4: a year to sort of get your feet wet. And
- 47:18Speaker 4: then I mean even if you look at who's the
- 47:21Speaker 4: best of the best, Welker Edelman, right at that spot,
- 47:27Speaker 4: you're talking about Douglas, right.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Did I miss? Yeah, Pp Douglas, Yeah.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Tomorrio, the best of the best did not do it
- 47:34Speaker 4: as rookies, right, you know, it took a little while.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Now you can contribute, and I expect him to be
- 47:39Speaker 4: a contributor, but like I'm not expecting to golden catch
- 47:42Speaker 4: eighty ninety balls, right, you know, as a rookie. You know,
- 47:45Speaker 4: I think people think that way of Edelman and Welker,
- 47:48Speaker 4: but that's what they became, it's not what they initially were.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Yep.
- 47:52Speaker 4: Now, I might also this guy Douglas might also have
- 47:55Speaker 4: more opportunities than they did because they're they're going to
- 47:57Speaker 4: Douglas is going to be entering an offense that doesn't
- 47:59Speaker 4: have the amount of sure things that Welker and you
- 48:04Speaker 4: know Welker did in Miami obviously, and Edelman did with
- 48:07Speaker 4: the Patriots.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Ron and Conway New Hampshire. As far as the joint practices,
- 48:13Speaker 1: there are concerns, but like Paul stated, if on when
- 48:15Speaker 1: you Strange, Brown and Andrew are all in there and
- 48:19Speaker 1: are close to coming back, things might be all right.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'm warming up to Zeke due to his blocking and
- 48:23Speaker 1: pass catching and getting tough yards when needed. And lastly, Paul,
- 48:27Speaker 1: I watched the Johnny Manziel documentary and Netflix. It was
- 48:30Speaker 1: really great. So that's his review of it.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, I thought it was worth the watch.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I heard it was. It wasn't all entirely.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Accurate, Okay, I mean I could definitely see that, But
- 48:44Speaker 4: I know when we watched documentaries that were sort of
- 48:47Speaker 4: intimately inside of we know there's some inaccuracies in those,
- 48:51Speaker 4: right yep.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Gerald In Grimsby says a lot of experts he has
- 48:58Speaker 1: that in quotes had the New York Mets winning the
- 49:00Speaker 1: World Series this year with all the veteran acquisitions. At
- 49:03Speaker 1: the trade deadline, they were trading Justin Verlander and Max Schurzer.
- 49:06Speaker 1: They're eleven under five hundred and out. I'm with Fred,
- 49:10Speaker 1: would love to see a Mets like implosion with the
- 49:13Speaker 1: Jets and they are less scratching their heads asking what happened?
- 49:17Speaker 1: Stacking the deck doesn't mean success. Okay, that's true. That's true.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Wouldn't it wouldn't it make you feel good? Though? If
- 49:27Speaker 1: they implode?
- 49:28Speaker 3: Like?
- 49:29Speaker 4: How how does it? How does that work?
- 49:30Speaker 1: Like? What do you mean the.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Implosion you imployed by? Like there's infighting, like the Mets
- 49:37Speaker 4: closer got hurt in the World Baseball Classic and they
- 49:39Speaker 4: were never the same.
- 49:40Speaker 3: After they Or do you mean a personal no?
- 49:44Speaker 4: Like I mean we can ignore.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I'm talking about infighting, Rogers starts, you know, spouting off,
- 49:51Speaker 1: you know, all that, all of it.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Like I that I wouldn't have any issue if it's
- 49:56Speaker 4: all because of Aaron Rodgers because I don't like him,
- 50:00Speaker 4: I make no bones about it. Goes back to twenty
- 50:02Speaker 4: ten with the discount double check. Haven't liked him since,
- 50:06Speaker 4: but oh it would be and I don't think he
- 50:08Speaker 4: wins enough for all the talent that he has. I
- 50:10Speaker 4: think he's ridiculously good, and I don't think he's one enough.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Let's see Jared and New Orleans. I like Fred's hatred
- 50:19Speaker 1: for the Jets, and I also agree about how the
- 50:20Speaker 1: Jets are going to implode. I feel the same way
- 50:23Speaker 1: toward Buffalo. I think the Bills are our biggest rival Miami,
- 50:27Speaker 1: and the Jets are always going to be the Jets
- 50:30Speaker 1: and do Jets things during the season. Yeah, I have
- 50:35Speaker 1: less hope that the Bills implode, and I wouldn't have
- 50:40Speaker 1: I wouldn't have the same pleasure if they did, but
- 50:43Speaker 1: for the Jets.
- 50:44Speaker 4: If they I would feel better about the Jets imploding
- 50:47Speaker 4: than the Bills because of Aaron Rodgers and I like
- 50:49Speaker 4: Josh Allen. Yeah, so if they implode because Josh Allen
- 50:53Speaker 4: is distracted with his like actress girlfriend and stuff like that,
- 50:57Speaker 4: like that wouldn't make me as happy.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I would be happy with it. I wouldn't have as
- 51:02Speaker 1: much pleasure as with the Jets. David writes in from
- 51:05Speaker 1: North Carolina. I was able to watch the Jets Panthers
- 51:08Speaker 1: practice live anytime the two teams played eleven and eleven.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Rogers never had time to throw the ball. At the
- 51:14Speaker 1: end of practice, they ran two minute drills. The Jets
- 51:16Speaker 1: went three and out. Rogers angrily tossed his helmet. Their
- 51:21Speaker 1: offensive line was an issue last year and will be
- 51:23Speaker 1: again this year. Patriots question, is there a rookie in
- 51:27Speaker 1: the past that saw playing time that you could compare Douglas.
- 51:30Speaker 4: To like a wide receiver?
- 51:35Speaker 1: No, he just said rookie.
- 51:38Speaker 4: I mean I would say Edelman.
- 51:41Speaker 1: But he didn't make that immediate impact. No, but he
- 51:44Speaker 1: had like forty catches. You know, you could go defense
- 51:47Speaker 1: with what's his name? The cornerback that came in the undressed.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Well, they've had rookies that started. Mac Jones started his
- 51:53Speaker 4: first game. Yeah, we're just gonna go by rookies playing
- 51:56Speaker 4: right away. Yeah, I mean just two years ago, Mac
- 51:58Speaker 4: Jones started every game. Is that came in and kind
- 52:01Speaker 4: of unheralded. Oh, I don't know what he's looking for?
- 52:04Speaker 4: Then I don't. I don't know exactly.
- 52:05Speaker 1: You know, you're gonna have to be clarified because do
- 52:07Speaker 1: you understand? Yeah, well I think I do. Well. Who then,
- 52:11Speaker 1: like I just mentioned him, what's his name?
- 52:13Speaker 16: That?
- 52:13Speaker 4: No, you didn't, you said that cornerback didn't mention anybody, well.
- 52:18Speaker 1: The undrafted cornerback that came in. This is like Jonathan
- 52:22Speaker 1: Jones no way before Malcolm Butler, no even before him.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Randall Gay, Randall.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Gay, he didn't have an immediate impact. He played right
- 52:30Speaker 4: away at the end of the year when of the
- 52:31Speaker 4: other guys were hurt.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I thought he played more. Nope, I thought he was
- 52:36Speaker 1: getting run. He had to play when everybody got hurt.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I have to check that. I think I think he
- 52:42Speaker 1: got early run.
- 52:43Speaker 4: You're involved in one of the guys who got hurt
- 52:45Speaker 4: that is often mocked and ridiculed at certain meetings. It's
- 52:49Speaker 4: Sante Samuel, Yeah, got hurt. That's why Randall Gay had
- 52:52Speaker 4: to play more of a role. Like I think Edelman
- 52:57Speaker 4: is like he was a complimentary piece as a rookie,
- 53:00Speaker 4: and I think he caught like forty balls as a rookie.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Now you know, I'm not exactly saying that he was
- 53:08Speaker 4: a big part of that team because I don't think
- 53:09Speaker 4: he was right And I was also kind that was
- 53:13Speaker 4: one of the rare, I mean striots teams of the
- 53:15Speaker 4: Brady era that just really wasn't all that.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Welker was still there and Edelman had some.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Early Welker tore his ACL in the last game against
- 53:23Speaker 4: Houston and he ended up I think Edelman had two
- 53:25Speaker 4: touchdown catches in the playoff loss to Baltimore. Yeah, but
- 53:29Speaker 4: I want to say he caught forty balls that year,
- 53:32Speaker 4: which is that's solid, solid passion for a rookie.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Yep.
- 53:35Speaker 4: And I think Douglas could do that.
- 53:37Speaker 1: L from Wisconsin. I feel like every time anything extra happens,
- 53:40Speaker 1: Jack Jones is involved. I'm not really sure why he's
- 53:43Speaker 1: still on the team. I feel like people have been
- 53:46Speaker 1: cut in the past for a lot less what's going on. Also, Fred,
- 53:49Speaker 1: no coaching staff in the league thinks about media and
- 53:52Speaker 1: cameras more than the Patriots, so.
- 53:55Speaker 4: All right, and I agree with that. And I also
- 53:57Speaker 4: don't think it's as much to do with the Patriots
- 54:00Speaker 4: record at the end of the day. But I do
- 54:02Speaker 4: think that they spend a lot of time thinking about
- 54:06Speaker 4: getting around media obligations and whatnot.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Sure, which is.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Weird because it's like, do you think the other teams
- 54:11Speaker 3: are really going through our reports and looking at like, okay,
- 54:13Speaker 3: like these are with first teams, so we're going to
- 54:15Speaker 3: use this in our scouting report. Do you think they
- 54:17Speaker 3: do that?
- 54:17Speaker 1: Yes?
- 54:19Speaker 3: Yeah, so you're saying the Jets are going to look
- 54:21Speaker 3: through all of our articles and be like, this is
- 54:23Speaker 3: going to be the Patriots first time.
- 54:25Speaker 1: I think it's somewhat.
- 54:25Speaker 4: It's two different things.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I think there's someone on it.
- 54:27Speaker 4: It's right, they will do it. They the Patriots do
- 54:31Speaker 4: think that the teams do it. It's completely like a
- 54:34Speaker 4: waste of time.
- 54:35Speaker 1: But I think on most teams, if not all, there's
- 54:38Speaker 1: someone on the team low level that his job look
- 54:41Speaker 1: at all the clips from the other teams. Yep, garner
- 54:45Speaker 1: any nugget that you can get, and then you bring
- 54:48Speaker 1: it forward and then we'll we'll vet it out.
- 54:50Speaker 4: See. That's why it's perfect for the Patriots because all
- 54:54Speaker 4: the teams the Patriots are playing or reading all the
- 54:56Speaker 4: reports that we're providing, and they're all different.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Right to prepare for everything, right, right, Dwayne and Dina
- 55:04Speaker 1: writes in I don't know who that is, but anyway,
- 55:08Speaker 1: wife and I have been Patriots fans from the prairies
- 55:10Speaker 1: of Saskatchewan since two thousand. Do you all feel that
- 55:14Speaker 1: it's getting harder to produce and recruit top level or
- 55:17Speaker 1: elite offensive line personnel or are defensive players skill levels
- 55:22Speaker 1: in schemes, scheme planning making it more difficult for most
- 55:25Speaker 1: levels offensive line personnel to be as effective or is
- 55:28Speaker 1: it a combination. So, you know, we talked about a
- 55:31Speaker 1: lot of teams having trouble with the old line. You
- 55:33Speaker 1: know why is that?
- 55:34Speaker 4: Yeah? I think that the big thing is the lack
- 55:38Speaker 4: of preparation time. That's what a lot of people complain about,
- 55:42Speaker 4: that they don't get enough time to really hit in
- 55:44Speaker 4: camp and they're not ready for the physicality at the
- 55:47Speaker 4: start of the season. And I do wonder if sort
- 55:51Speaker 4: of the the style of offense that it's gone to
- 55:55Speaker 4: the last ten years, Freddy, do you think that that
- 55:57Speaker 4: has anything to do with it? Because there's so much
- 55:59Speaker 4: spread in passing, there's not as much just straightforward drive
- 56:04Speaker 4: blocking where you can be physical and dominate. You know,
- 56:07Speaker 4: if you're a running team, right and you let's say
- 56:11Speaker 4: that you're Trent Brown and you've been killing von Miller
- 56:15Speaker 4: all day in the running game, do you think von
- 56:17Speaker 4: Miller's going to be as effective rushing the passer as
- 56:19Speaker 4: he normally would know? No, So I do think that
- 56:23Speaker 4: that might be part of it.
- 56:24Speaker 17: Could be yep, could be be good to you know,
- 56:29Speaker 17: on a Friday but actually, I don't think Bill would
- 56:32Speaker 17: answer that question because it has to do with what's
- 56:34Speaker 17: going on now.
- 56:35Speaker 1: If you were asking ten years ago, then he might elaborate.
- 56:39Speaker 1: But I'm sure he has his.
- 56:41Speaker 4: And I think he'd have a hard time like if
- 56:42Speaker 4: you said something like because I think it would be
- 56:44Speaker 4: a very fair question to say, Bill, do you think
- 56:46Speaker 4: that the state of offensive line play has deteriorated over
- 56:50Speaker 4: the last say decade. I don't think he'd be as
- 56:53Speaker 4: willing to say yes, because he would be openly criticizing
- 56:56Speaker 4: his own play right.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Or even if it's is it harder to put together?
- 57:01Speaker 4: Is it hard to develop an offensive line? I wonder
- 57:04Speaker 4: what is I wonder what his answer would we.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Should ask Dante? I wonder if he has any insight?
- 57:12Speaker 1: Let's see, Hugo writes in first time writing, usual podcast Listener,
- 57:17Speaker 1: I've been listening since Newton preseason. This is not that
- 57:21Speaker 1: long ago where you've been so. How worried are you
- 57:24Speaker 1: that John Jones isn't practicing? And do you think that
- 57:27Speaker 1: time Montgomery is done with the team due to the
- 57:29Speaker 1: acquisition of Zeke or is there space for both? I
- 57:34Speaker 1: think there would be space for both.
- 57:36Speaker 4: I don't know it's so hard to answer those questions
- 57:38Speaker 4: without knowing the health exactly what's wrong with Time Montgomery.
- 57:43Speaker 4: But we have not seen him. Second day of practice
- 57:46Speaker 4: was when he got hurt. He hasn't practiced since.
- 57:48Speaker 3: I do think it's interesting that John Jones, like, did
- 57:50Speaker 3: we see him get hurt or he just didn't know?
- 57:52Speaker 4: Just all of a sudden on that Friday in stadium
- 57:54Speaker 4: practice he wasn't out there. I think this is going
- 57:56Speaker 4: to be eight in a row that he's missed.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Did his didn't we just renew his contract or extend
- 58:04Speaker 3: it or something with it?
- 58:05Speaker 4: Was that this year?
- 58:06Speaker 6: Is that?
- 58:06Speaker 3: This year?
- 58:07Speaker 1: Is that? This offseason?
- 58:07Speaker 4: But I think yes, I think he.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Reci I couldn't be like contract related.
- 58:11Speaker 4: No, So.
- 58:14Speaker 1: No, it's interesting, Speking Fresno says Fred, Fred, what's the
- 58:18Speaker 1: worst Patriots record you would accept in exchange for the
- 58:21Speaker 1: Jets completely becoming Ungluias?
- 58:23Speaker 4: That's a great that's a great question. This is what
- 58:26Speaker 4: you're really going to see, Fred, what you're made of.
- 58:29Speaker 4: Let's go. I want to hear this great questions.
- 58:31Speaker 1: What's the worst eight and nine?
- 58:35Speaker 4: So if the Patriots were anything worse than eight to nine.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Yeah, because that wouldn't really that means we weren't good either,
- 58:40Speaker 1: it wouldn't and then success and then it, you know,
- 58:44Speaker 1: it kind of loses it's it's luster. It's answer. If
- 58:47Speaker 1: we're bad too, if we're like, you know, just just
- 58:49Speaker 1: about say eleven, then what good is it? You know,
- 58:52Speaker 1: I can't make fun of them as much because we
- 58:54Speaker 1: stink too.
- 58:55Speaker 3: But if the Patriots are like eleven and something, Oh God,
- 59:03Speaker 3: come out guns, I wun't even be able to contain.
- 59:05Speaker 4: Friend. Patriots somehow won ten or eleven games, that might
- 59:09Speaker 4: even make up imploded, That might even make up for
- 59:11Speaker 4: not winning a super Bowl if we got there at
- 59:13Speaker 4: least at least the Jets think, yeah, it's a little low.
- 59:18Speaker 4: You got to go like at least a winning record.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Yeah, nine, But I think I think we might be
- 59:25Speaker 1: eight to nine anyway. You know that's the problem.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Well, that has nothing to do with what you think
- 59:29Speaker 4: they're going to be. He's saying, what's the worst that
- 59:31Speaker 4: you would accept as long as you got to make
- 59:34Speaker 4: fun of the Jets.
- 59:34Speaker 1: But like, I think you have a good answer, eight
- 59:36Speaker 1: and nine. We could be competitive in most games.
- 59:38Speaker 4: You go much lower than eight, you have nothing to
- 59:40Speaker 4: be making fun of anybody.
- 59:41Speaker 1: That's what That's what I'm saying.
- 59:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I don't really take any solace in going
- 59:47Speaker 4: seven and ten, six and eleven, and but you guys
- 59:49Speaker 4: were supposed to be right right, Like that doesn't make
- 59:52Speaker 4: me feel good.
- 59:53Speaker 1: I I agree, No, we have to we have to
- 59:56Speaker 1: be up there for it to really, you know, fee
- 59:59Speaker 1: feel good. John Johnny in matt Town, Wisconsin. I agree
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: with Paul on numerous things today, most notably his opinion
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: on Aaron Rodgers. I agree with Paul about as often
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: as the Patriots offense scored in the red zone last year.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: But when I agree with him, it's like we're seeing
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: things through the same eyes. Also, he's right about not
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: wanting to fall back on hoping for a Jets implosion.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Why can't Bill put together a winning team anymore? He's
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: on the hot seat. This year has to be after
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: what happens since Brady left and tomorrow you're awesome, says Johnny.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I'm not falling back on hoping that. Like, I'm not, like,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: you know, putting the hopes of the season on their implosion.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I just hope that it happens.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: See to me, I don't really hope that it happens
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: it would be a nice little cherry on the Sunday
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: if the Patriots were really good and you know what
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: else happened, what made it even better? The Jets imploded. Like,
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: I don't take really any solace in the Jets imploating.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: That's the only reason why Patriots can be competitive with them.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Fish like that doesn't make me feel good. But if
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: the Patriots really good and the Jets are really bad,
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: that's icing on the gate.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Yes, David who called in before about what rookie you
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: know came on? He wanted to clarificate. He meant rookie
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: wide receiver, So I would say Edelman, what about Well,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Dan Branch was a second round.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Pick, so Deon Branch was good. Yeah, like right out
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: of the gate. Yeah, I mean, I think it's an
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: easy comparison because they played the same spot. Yeah, I'm
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: going to look up Edelman's stats. I keep saying, I
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: think he I think he had forty catches.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Okay, let's see, while you're looking at that, Josh and
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Turner's falls. With Miami possibly losing their starting left tackle
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: for a while, the Jets possibly jetting it up, and
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: the Bills possibly regressing just a tad It leaves me
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: wondering if I'd rather go three and three or maybe
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: better in the division in around ten and seven are
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: better in the season, only to get found out in
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: the playoffs and get embarrassed. Or would it be better
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: to have Miami, New York and Buffalo at full strength
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: and playing to potential to see the true nature of
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: this team, even if it means a sub five hundred record.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I think I'd prefer the latter. I want them to win,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I want them to be in the playoffs, but I'd
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: love the next time the Patriots are in the playoffs
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that they have the team to belong there and maybe
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: win one or two or two. Yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: I see your point. I mean I would I would
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: take a successful season regardless, but I would feel better
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: about it if the other teams were healthy and you've
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: just found ways to beat them.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I'm not worried about next year and how they I've
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: worried about this year.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: Right, But that's what he's saying. Yeah, I definitely wants
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: to develop the team this year.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I would love to be, you know, an entire healthy
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: division versus like getting lucky every single.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: Two years ago when you faced all the teams when
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: they're the players were out and you won ten games,
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: but you really weren't a ten win team.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Yeah no, uh, Sam and Charlotte.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Thirty seven catches for Alman his rookie year, so I
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: thought it was around forty.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Samuel, Samuel and Charlotte. I love to hear Paul and
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Fred argue, and I see Paul's point, but I agree
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: with Fred that I'm cheering for a Jets crash. I
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: cannot watch hard Knocks and cheer for the Jets to succeed.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I see the implosion coming. They were fighting each other
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: on the same team in practice, and you could see
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Rogers turning against his coaches after a drive didn't go well.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: In joints. I'm cheering for the Patriots to beat the
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: best of the teams, but I'm cheering against Rogers and
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: the Jets as well, Alan and Digg's relationship, as well
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: as Alan and diggs relationship to implode because it's entertaining. Yeah,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: there is an entertainment factor. You do use the drama.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Chance that they're just like acting like all this drama
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: on the field, Like.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Oh, with the Jets. I do think there's a little
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: bit of muggy for the camera.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Rogers is upset with the situation of the line. He
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: keeps saying he's okay with it, and then he says,
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: you know yet or not, like he's I think Aaron
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: Rodgers is the prototypical guy, like, don't blame me, it's them,
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: And that's why I think he has not won as
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: much as he should. Some of his comments about the
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: offensive line. He says all the right thing, and then
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: he has like a phrase at the end is you
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: know it's not my job to get involved in that
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: yet you know it's no, no, it's not really your
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: job ever to get involved in that. But he will,
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: Oh but he will, but he will. I just like,
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: I don't really take any solace in that if I
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: end up being better than a team because they imploded,
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: Like I don't like what if you would like?
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: That?
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: To me is the same thing as there's no fun,
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: no fun. If the Patriots are eleven and six, Now
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: I take solace in them imploding because you're eleven and six,
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: because the Jets imploded. You're eleven and six because you're
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: a lot better than people think. Do you understand what
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: the difference is? I want my team to be good,
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: so it's secondary what happens to the other teams. I know,
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: but that's the only d friends, Like, I'm not telling
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: you it wouldn't be great theater to watch Aaron Rodgers
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: fall in his face.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Of course, I want, first of all the Patriots to
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: be good. But but it doesn't.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it doesn't really provide me any entertainment if the
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: Patriots aren't good, right, whereas you will find that great
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: because you hate the Jets so much? Right, But isn't
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: like does that not accurate? It might, I'm not mischaracter.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: But it it takes, like I said, it takes the
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: luster off. It takes, it tarnishes the joy. If your
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: own team isn't good, you can't enjoy it as much
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: because like what do you now?
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Don't get me wrong. If the Patriots aren't very good
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: then they don't make the playoffs and the Jets end
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: up being really good and they make the playoffs, I
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: will be watching their first round playoff game and rooting
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: with everything that I have for the other team. I'm
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: not gonna again. I'm not being objective. I know people
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: think that I'm trying to be objected.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: No, I'm not.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: I'm not objective. I would root against whoever is I
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: would root against the Jets against whoever they were playing
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: in the playoffs because I don't like him.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Uh, let's see Dave writes in as much as I'd
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: like to see the Jets implode, I take more pleasure
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: in Miami being the bottom of the division. Here is
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: my two part question. One parts, you keep saying that
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: Cunningham played great against scrub backups. Didn't Zappy face the
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: same scrub team and look uninspiring?
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: No, No, he was Zaa played against the Stars, right,
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: But that's also not really doesn't have anything to do
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: with why I'm not convinced about Cunningham. I'm not convinced
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: about Cunningham because I haven't seen him take any reps
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: and really run an offense. Right he takes he takes
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: the snap and runs, or he does an RPO and
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: hands the ball off. Yeah, he doesn't throw.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: He's getting like leftover reps. And two like until I
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: see him put on that red non contact jersey. Really,
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: it's like hard to take it seriously, Like it's just
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: it's not enough. It's not the same reps as Zappi
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: and mix, Worley and Mac obviously, and also I feel like,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: I don't even know if you would call it Miami imploding,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: because it's a if Tua doesn't stay healthy, like I
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: don't know what they're gonna do. Yeah, Like he had
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: a lot of concussion issues among other things. So it's like, yeah,
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: the chances of that happening again are very likely, unfortunately,
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: and so I feel like if any of the two,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Miami probably Yeah.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: His second point is listening to Unfiltered, which is a
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: great show hooked on Pats and p and N. What's
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: p and N Patriots something? All seemed to be saying
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: the same thing. We look bad on the old line
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: wide receiver, quarterback secondary last year was too painful to repeat.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: How worried should we be? And side note, I'm still
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: upset that Belichick didn't take Zave Flowers when we had
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: the chance and desperately needed a wide receiver. By the way,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: there's a lot of video of him he loos, breaking
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: ankles and practice that could be one that got away.
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: I was, you know, I saw some of that video
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: of him, and I thought back to that email that
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: we got on Tuesday about him, which I thought was
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: a really good email, Like how much better would you
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: feel if this was Zay Flowers in the because Zay
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: Flowers is tiny too. Yes, you know, and I think
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: he's right. I think part of the reason why you're
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: not like for me anyways, speaking for myself, I'm not
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: completely embracing the idea of the Mario Douglas is he's
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: a sixth round pick out of Liberty as opposed to
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: a first round pick. But really they they're very similar
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: kind of you know, bodies and skill sets. I mean,
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: Zay Flowers can't be much more than five eight five,
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: and that's what Douglas is.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Alex.
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: I think Douglas said he was one eighty two the
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: other day. He admitted to even though he's like one
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: ninety five on the roster or something like that.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: On the rookie wide receiver question, Alex says, why is
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: everyone forgetting Malcolm Mitchell rookie wide receiver won a title
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: with Brady.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we're looking for more than that. I
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: would be anyway. I think he was a complimentary piece.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: I don't know as a rookie, Like, yeah, I suppose
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: as a rookie the production could be the same. But
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: I think Malcolm Mitchell, I don't know, was he that impactful.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Do you remember, I mean he had a couple of
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: big catches in the Super Bowl?
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Yep, I mean what, he probably had forty catches that year,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: forty five catches.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I guess, I guess it's
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: it's a similar one.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I just and I think he could have been good
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: if he hadn't gotten hurt.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, you're probably right. That's probably another good
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: email that I am overlooking Malcolm Mitchell about. That's probably
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: another get.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Back to the phone's Gunner is in Maryland? What's up, Gunner?
- 1:09:42Speaker 15: Hey guys, how's it going?
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:09:45Speaker 15: So the question I have is, so, I know Malie
- 1:09:47Speaker 15: Cunningham is awesome and all that stuff, but I remember
- 1:09:51Speaker 15: Paul having a discussion before in a previous show, and
- 1:09:53Speaker 15: he's talking about Drew Brees and Taysom Hill. And I think, Paul,
- 1:09:58Speaker 15: if I think you characterized this like, Okay, Trew Brees
- 1:10:01Speaker 15: is your quarterback, so why would you take him out
- 1:10:04Speaker 15: of the game put somebody else in who is not
- 1:10:07Speaker 15: as good as Drew Brees?
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: And so he used to drive me crazy watch my snub.
- 1:10:12Speaker 15: But why would you? Why would you if if Mac
- 1:10:15Speaker 15: Jones is your quarterback, and he's our best quarterback, and
- 1:10:18Speaker 15: he's the starter, and it's his job to lose. Why
- 1:10:20Speaker 15: would you take him out of the game and give
- 1:10:21Speaker 15: snaps to somebody else who's obviously not good enough to
- 1:10:23Speaker 15: win the starting job.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: Yeah, well the only okay, go ahead, Paul Well, I
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: just would say he's absolutely characterized my thoughts perfectly. He
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: didn't put words in my mouth like so many others do.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: That's exactly how I feel now. To me, the big
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: difference is I felt that way because Drew Brees was
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: the quarterback. Now I could be I could tell you
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: that I'd be disappointed if Bill O'Brien feels like he
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: needs to use Malie Cunningham because that means to me
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: that Mac Jones isn't the guy like he isn't the
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: no questions asked guy. I always thought it was kind
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: of shortsighted on Sean Payton's part to do that with
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: Taysom Hill. Now he might the Patriots might need to
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: do that because they can't generate the same amount of offense. Yeah,
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: and that would be disappointing for mac Jones. But to me,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: whatever you gotta do to to move the ball and
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: score points you got to do.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I like and I agree. But you know the
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: reason why I would do it, whether it's Drew Brees
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: or Mac Jones, is I see something specific in this
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: game that I can exploit if I put you know,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and even if it's just for a series.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I would argue that with a guy like Drew
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Brees or Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, I like the
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: things I'm exploiting with them better than.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Right, Well, if I'm not going to take them out,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: but if i'm you know, you know how some of
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: these games get stuck in the mud a little bit
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: sometimes and neither to you know, I just want to
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: add a little you know, excite, you know, a jolt
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: to the offense, and I think I can exploit some
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: things that I'm seeing. Then I then I would do it.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: You know, then I would do it. Put him in there.
- 1:12:01Speaker 15: Well, I think if you do that, it just shows
- 1:12:03Speaker 15: that there's a deficiency in your quarterback.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I agree, well, there's a deficiency in your offense. And
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: then my case on that given day.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Well, with a great quarterback on that given day. Yeah,
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: but I would agree with the premise that if you
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: have to do that, then you have probably limitations offensively, right.
- 1:12:21Speaker 15: Well, and I'm a fan, so I don't have to
- 1:12:23Speaker 15: make any sense or I'll just go with my part.
- 1:12:26Speaker 15: But that was so Paul loved this because Drew Brees
- 1:12:29Speaker 15: was or Drew Bledsoe was my guy to I love
- 1:12:31Speaker 15: that guy. And I was clamoring for Michael Bishop back
- 1:12:35Speaker 15: in the day when Drew was struggling a little bit.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: So you know, until until that Monday Night game in
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: week two of two thousand when Bishop came in the
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: game and did not do anything.
- 1:12:44Speaker 15: Yeah, I'm exactly.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: I hated that, not surprisingly do you think that's why
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: you know, throwing Marcus Jones in that wrinkle was that,
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: you know, because the offense wasn't able to do what
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: it's going to do.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and that I remember that. I mean, Patriots weren't
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: doing much and then he came in and and and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: did something Marcus Jones that day. But that's quarterback. But
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: but but here's where I go back to remember that
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: game against Miami here the Wildcat game. You know, now,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Miami's offense wasn't that great, but they brought in the
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: wildcat package and the Patriots had no answer for it.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: And the Miami won that game. You know, That's what
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: But Miami had no offense.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: That's what I'm Yeah. But in this you know Mac
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Jones isn't you know.
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: They don't see the difference between like Sean Payton and
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: the Saints that the highest scoring offenses. But you just
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: took away opportunity.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: But Gunner brought up Mac Jones, and I can absolutely
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: see with Jones it's different, right, I can absolutely see
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: games this season. I hope there aren't any, or if
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: there are few, that the Patriots have are struggling and
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: maybe just a different style might work.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: If you knew that, you know, an opponent's danks really
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: struggled with this type of quarterback, then you could right
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: playing ahead to use Cunningham.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it definitely worked that day against Miami.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I remember it was so frustrating. It's like, just stop
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: the guy, and the Patriots could not stop, you know,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: their wildcat package. It was so frustrating.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: Right, No, I remember the day vividly, But that was
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: also two of the worst offensive games. That was Week
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: three that year is two thousand and eight. I remember
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: it vividly. Oh sure, I mean Chad Pennington was lousy
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: in the first two games. They couldn't do anything offensively,
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: so that was totally out of desperation.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: I definitely wouldn't want to use like that as a
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: crutch the entire season, Like, Okay, we're not moving the
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: ball the whole first half, let's just use Cunningham. It's like,
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: you don't want to, like have it be your crutch
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: right now if it's like your game plan. You know
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: that opponent's defense cannot stop this type of offense. Sure,
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: you know, throw it in there, let it be a wrinkle,
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: but as a crutch, no.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: I am fascinated to see how Bill thinks about it, though.
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: See you know, you know, we'll fast forward two weeks
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: or so, two and a half three weeks, find out
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: where Cunningham fits on the roster.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: All right, Paul's foods here. So we're gonna take a break.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: We're gonna have the show within a show. Have we
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: given a name to this show within a show yet?
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: I thought calling Matisa's hot takes Otis's hot takes, all right,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: So we're gonna do that, and then we'll be right
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: back after Matisa's hot takes.
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: Get in on the action. With DraftKings, the official daily

- 1:15:37Speaker 18: All right, guys, Matisse Bauman, here, we're trying something a
- 1:15:41Speaker 18: little new pretty much. We're gonna go over some unpopular
- 1:15:46Speaker 18: hot takes. And you know that's just now. As we said,
- 1:15:49Speaker 18: this is learning, this is new for us, new for
- 1:15:51Speaker 18: the people listening. If there's something hot happening on Twitter,
- 1:15:55Speaker 18: we'll break it down. Something in the NFL that the
- 1:15:58Speaker 18: guys in unfilter didn't talk about, we'll talk about it too,
- 1:16:01Speaker 18: whatever we want. So once again, I'm Mattis Bowman. I'm
- 1:16:04Speaker 18: here with Dylan Ciderella and Faith Werel and let's just
- 1:16:09Speaker 18: run through some hot takes and see what happens. All right, right,
- 1:16:12Speaker 18: for this, we'll just start with We'll start with the
- 1:16:14Speaker 18: basic one. Is a hot dog a sandwich?
- 1:16:18Speaker 19: Technically it's meat in between two pieces of bread.
- 1:16:21Speaker 20: So I think I agree with that meat in between
- 1:16:26Speaker 20: but so does that Does that make a burger sandwich too?
- 1:16:31Speaker 18: I say, no, a glizzy is a glizzy. That's a
- 1:16:33Speaker 18: separate thing for me. But all right, so you got
- 1:16:36Speaker 18: what do you classify it as. It's just it's its
- 1:16:39Speaker 18: own entity. It's its own entity, alright, That work.
- 1:16:41Speaker 19: All the sandwiches in the world. And then there's just
- 1:16:43Speaker 19: a hot yeah, okay.
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: Yeah that works for me.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:16:45Speaker 18: I don't know if you guys disagree. All right, run
- 1:16:47Speaker 18: through that one. All right, I've never heard this one before,
- 1:16:49Speaker 18: so let me know what you think. Ravioli is a
- 1:16:52Speaker 18: wet pop tart.
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: Oh gosh.
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: I mean when you think.
- 1:16:56Speaker 20: About it, it's like it's like the filling encased in something.
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: But and then also, you can toast ravioli. You can toast,
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: you can you're toasted ravel like it's like fry. Yeah,
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: it's bomb. So it's pop tart.
- 1:17:12Speaker 20: I would I don't know if I consider a pop tart.
- 1:17:14Speaker 20: That means anything inside of something could be a pop tart.
- 1:17:18Speaker 7: Cow zonet. No, I think I'm out on this lie.
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: Alright, alright, alright, right here we go, here we go.
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: Do you guys like the office, Yes, kind of? I
- 1:17:32Speaker 6: think it stinks.
- 1:17:34Speaker 19: See, I've only seen like four episodes total, so I
- 1:17:37Speaker 19: didn't hate them.
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: But there, why do you think it stinks?
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: What's wrong?
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: It's not for me. It's the dry humor.
- 1:17:42Speaker 18: Like, listen a couple of clips I like, Like, I
- 1:17:44Speaker 18: think the Asian gym thing is hilarious, the the fire
- 1:17:49Speaker 18: drill I've seen Matt clip that's funny, But the rest
- 1:17:51Speaker 18: just doesn't.
- 1:17:52Speaker 6: Have you watched the whole thing? No, because it's horrible.
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: You got you have to give it a shot.
- 1:17:57Speaker 7: I'm at least saying I've only seen a few episodes.
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: I need to give it a shot.
- 1:18:00Speaker 20: I've watched it many times, all the way through, and
- 1:18:02Speaker 20: I would do it again. I think it's hilarious. I
- 1:18:06Speaker 20: would have thought about getting Peacock specifically. Yeah, No, it's
- 1:18:09Speaker 20: not worth it. No, I think it is.
- 1:18:11Speaker 6: No, it's probably my favorite show of all time. I
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: kind of feel like Switzerland over here, like a New
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: Girl better.
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: New Girl is the best show.
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: That's what everyone. Ransom is about New Girl Better. I
- 1:18:23Speaker 6: like Parks and rec I don't think it's better in
- 1:18:24Speaker 6: the Office. All right, all right, all right, well office
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: thinks of my but here we go, Here we go.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: This one.
- 1:18:30Speaker 18: I've never heard this this take before. I was pretty
- 1:18:32Speaker 18: upset by it. I have Chinese food is horrible.
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: Oh absolutely not.
- 1:18:36Speaker 6: That's all. That's wild, right, the worst, the worst take
- 1:18:41Speaker 6: all the time, thank you, or any other time of
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: the year.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: But I don't want to.
- 1:18:46Speaker 6: I don't want to tick off Matt Morrell. Here we
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: have no no, no, no, no no no, this this
- 1:18:51Speaker 6: take we have Star Wars is horrible. So got an opinion? Uh.
- 1:18:57Speaker 7: I love Marvel.
- 1:18:59Speaker 19: I love Marvel so much, and I've tried to watch
- 1:19:01Speaker 19: Star Wars because I love Marvel and I figured I
- 1:19:04Speaker 19: would like the same thing.
- 1:19:05Speaker 7: And every time I try to watch it, I fall asleep.
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: Okay without Dylan.
- 1:19:09Speaker 20: I I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan. I don't
- 1:19:13Speaker 20: watch a ton of movies, so like, I'm not into
- 1:19:15Speaker 20: the Marvel thing. I never really got into Star Wars
- 1:19:17Speaker 20: when I was younger. And it's like the like the
- 1:19:19Speaker 20: fantasy aspect I think of it. It's like like a
- 1:19:22Speaker 20: different world. I can't latch myself onto the.
- 1:19:25Speaker 18: I think, if you don't like Star Wars, you just
- 1:19:26Speaker 18: got to grow up and have it, you know, like
- 1:19:31Speaker 18: it just like it just means you didn't have a childhood.
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: That that's my thing.
- 1:19:34Speaker 7: I did.
- 1:19:35Speaker 20: I did other things besides watch Star Wars when I
- 1:19:37Speaker 20: was a child, Okay, that's fair.
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: I played outside.
- 1:19:39Speaker 18: Yeah, but Star Wars, Star Wars is Star Wars and
- 1:19:42Speaker 18: Star Wars, like, come on, we can't.
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: Mess it is. It's like it's definitely generation.
- 1:19:46Speaker 18: We got some guys upstairs that don't like it at all,
- 1:19:48Speaker 18: so yeah, I wouldn't go that far.
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: I hate it, Yeah, I just haven't. Like every time I.
- 1:19:53Speaker 19: Try to watch it, I ended up falling asleep. Now,
- 1:19:54Speaker 19: Star Wars land in Disney World, amazing?
- 1:19:57Speaker 6: Have you done the TV shows? Mandel?
- 1:20:00Speaker 20: I watched some of Mando because a lot of my
- 1:20:02Speaker 20: friends are like big into it, so I watched with them,
- 1:20:04Speaker 20: and I didn't think it was that bad. But it's
- 1:20:07Speaker 20: like for me, it was like its own separate series,
- 1:20:09Speaker 20: and I didn't. I haven't. I haven't seen any of those.
- 1:20:11Speaker 18: You guys don't hate it though, I don't hate it, Okay,
- 1:20:14Speaker 18: just all right, I can see I see why people
- 1:20:17Speaker 18: like it. Okay, all right, I respect that this one's wild.
- 1:20:20Speaker 18: I like, actually, LinkedIn is better. LinkedIn is better for
- 1:20:24Speaker 18: dating than Tinder.
- 1:20:26Speaker 7: You know what?
- 1:20:28Speaker 20: If I could see it I've never heard that, and
- 1:20:31Speaker 20: I don't know I could see because you're like connecting
- 1:20:33Speaker 20: with all these new people.
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: Seek help if your d I agree with that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 7: It's like trying to look at someone's resume versus like
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: getting to know somebody else.
- 1:20:41Speaker 19: Like I don't need to know like what you what
- 1:20:43Speaker 19: job you had in high school? Like at the first
- 1:20:45Speaker 19: Like I would rather get to know you versus.
- 1:20:47Speaker 20: Like but if you look at their resume and that
- 1:20:49Speaker 20: you have like similar interests, you guys did similar things,
- 1:20:51Speaker 20: maybe you'd like reach out and be like, hey, like
- 1:20:53Speaker 20: I know.
- 1:20:54Speaker 19: All these profiles you can technically lie on, but like
- 1:20:56Speaker 19: how many linkedins are like one hundred percent accurate?
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: Isn't tender? Kind of just like networking, I mean you
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: meet with them job, if.
- 1:21:07Speaker 18: You're using you're a professional LinkedIn account to slide into
- 1:21:11Speaker 18: people's d ms, Please seek health.
- 1:21:16Speaker 6: I do agree with that. All Right, what else I'm
- 1:21:18Speaker 6: going through you guys?
- 1:21:19Speaker 18: I literally have seventy fun controversial takes and all right,
- 1:21:26Speaker 18: Adidas is the best sports brand.
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: Absolutely not Nike.
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: Yep, I'm Nike. I'd probably Yeah, did you see out there?
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: Did you see the air? I did? I have not
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: seen that. I doubt so.
- 1:21:37Speaker 18: Adidas used to run the game, but I think it's
- 1:21:39Speaker 18: completely flipped, oh for sure. For example, I think when
- 1:21:42Speaker 18: the NFL took over, it was taken over by Nike,
- 1:21:44Speaker 18: completely changed it.
- 1:21:46Speaker 19: Yeah, I mean, I just think Nike has so much
- 1:21:49Speaker 19: like streetwear that you can also have.
- 1:21:52Speaker 7: Like I feel like when you wear.
- 1:21:52Speaker 19: Adidas, it's just like, okay, that's Adidas, Like you just
- 1:21:55Speaker 19: see the three stripes every time, but like with Nike,
- 1:21:57Speaker 19: like they have more graphic t's and.
- 1:21:59Speaker 20: Just like, yeah, I feel like there's a lot more
- 1:22:01Speaker 20: variety from Nike where Adidas when like, when I think
- 1:22:04Speaker 20: of Adidas, I think mainly soccer, Like yes, all right,
- 1:22:07Speaker 20: because all like soccer jerseys are Adida's brain.
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: I think my.
- 1:22:11Speaker 18: Thing, my thing is I saw a meme a couple
- 1:22:14Speaker 18: of years ago. It just showed four basic shoes and
- 1:22:17Speaker 18: it had each logo on the same shoe, and the
- 1:22:21Speaker 18: Nike one was hands down the best. It just crazy,
- 1:22:23Speaker 18: how like your brain is used to Nike, like Nike
- 1:22:26Speaker 18: number one.
- 1:22:26Speaker 6: I then go and like the.
- 1:22:28Speaker 19: Dunks and Jordan's like all the different shoes you can have,
- 1:22:30Speaker 19: Like yeah, amazing.
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: All right, all right? Only old people use Facebook mainly
- 1:22:37Speaker 6: old people use face.
- 1:22:39Speaker 7: Old people and Southern people.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: Friends from South Carolina for those that don't know.
- 1:22:46Speaker 18: So all right, So it's funny because when I was
- 1:22:48Speaker 18: growing up, Facebook was was coming up, and that was
- 1:22:51Speaker 18: like the hot thing to use.
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: I remember.
- 1:22:53Speaker 20: Yeah, when I was growing up, it was like weird
- 1:22:55Speaker 20: if you had a Facebook and you.
- 1:22:56Speaker 6: Weren't in high school yet.
- 1:22:57Speaker 20: Okay, I remember, like my friends her my friend's sister
- 1:23:01Speaker 20: was just like, you have to stay on my Space
- 1:23:03Speaker 20: until you're in high school.
- 1:23:04Speaker 18: See give me, Like, it's just weird. I use Facebook
- 1:23:07Speaker 18: now as a birthday reminder for people's birthdays. I don't know,
- 1:23:09Speaker 18: but like, if I go on there, it's a it's
- 1:23:11Speaker 18: a it's a war zone.
- 1:23:12Speaker 19: I don't usually who from high school is engaged, who
- 1:23:15Speaker 19: from high school is pregnant? That's what you're usually seeing,
- 1:23:17Speaker 19: I feel like on Facebook.
- 1:23:18Speaker 18: All right, here we got another one. Everyone should solo
- 1:23:21Speaker 18: travel at least once in their life.
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: Absolutely, I agree with that. Have you guys done it before?
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: And I'm not counting.
- 1:23:26Speaker 18: I'm not counting like going to New York on your own,
- 1:23:28Speaker 18: which also that's weird.
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: Too, but I have not, but I want to.
- 1:23:32Speaker 18: I've done it once I've also done it once and
- 1:23:34Speaker 18: it's it's where did you go Ghana?
- 1:23:36Speaker 6: Okay, that's crazy by yourself.
- 1:23:39Speaker 18: Yeah, well, well it was like a coaching thing, but
- 1:23:42Speaker 18: I went not knowing anybody, So I guess does that count.
- 1:23:45Speaker 18: I didn't like solo travel the country.
- 1:23:46Speaker 19: I feel like solo travel is like you go, everything
- 1:23:49Speaker 19: is just like you, whatever you want to do, and
- 1:23:52Speaker 19: you have.
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: To have a plan. Let's just go. Just hop on
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: a plane, just pick pick your destination. And yeah, I
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: don't think I've done that.
- 1:23:58Speaker 19: I feel like going to like Montana or Wyoming or
- 1:24:00Speaker 19: something will be fun alone.
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: Just fly fishing. Well that's all I know.
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: Little more like hiking. But I guess that's probably.
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: The snowboarding out there, same thing.
- 1:24:11Speaker 18: Hmm, all right, Faith, you can answer that the mullet
- 1:24:13Speaker 18: is actually a good hairstyle.
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: I love the mullets.
- 1:24:16Speaker 19: Yeah, personally, I think between like Morgan Wallen, I actually
- 1:24:21Speaker 19: know some women that have mullets that I think.
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: I think it's a good hairstyle.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: David Andrews.
- 1:24:25Speaker 7: David Andrews, of course, you know what.
- 1:24:27Speaker 6: Yeah, did somebody else in the team have it?
- 1:24:29Speaker 7: Didn't cold strange copy?
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: Yeah, David Andrew Yeah, I respect it.
- 1:24:33Speaker 20: My brother saw David Andrews that like family day, He's like,
- 1:24:36Speaker 20: I need my hair like that. He's you're really trying
- 1:24:38Speaker 20: to grow it out, but he's like, he's like a
- 1:24:40Speaker 20: country dude.
- 1:24:41Speaker 7: So well, there you go.
- 1:24:42Speaker 19: Yeah, you're also asking the one from South Carolina. So
- 1:24:45Speaker 19: I'm a big mullet fan.
- 1:24:46Speaker 6: Dylan.
- 1:24:47Speaker 18: It you're gonna hate me for this one. Beyonce's music
- 1:24:49Speaker 18: is overrated, faith.
- 1:24:53Speaker 19: So I don't think she's overrated because I think she's iconic, but.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: I'm not the biggest Beyonce fans.
- 1:25:02Speaker 20: Maybe I think she's a great artist and she has
- 1:25:05Speaker 20: a phenomenal voice, super talented.
- 1:25:07Speaker 6: Definitely. I don't know if the whole like cult following
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: thing is necessary.
- 1:25:12Speaker 7: I think with Taylor Swift, I'm a huge Taylor Swift and.
- 1:25:14Speaker 18: It's like Taylor Swift's like, it's like, who's better between
- 1:25:17Speaker 18: those two?
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: I'm biased.
- 1:25:19Speaker 19: I feel like i I've I grew up listening to
- 1:25:21Speaker 19: Taylor Swift and grew up listening to Dylan.
- 1:25:25Speaker 6: There you go.
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: That's fair.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: That's fair. All right.
- 1:25:28Speaker 18: So that was the first edition of this Once again,
- 1:25:32Speaker 18: let us know what you think you can write into

- 1:26:31Speaker 16: about twenty Way. Yeah, GARTI smells really good. Paul, back
- 1:26:35Speaker 16: me up on this.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: What are you a dog? He smells wonderful. There's Aron
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: sniffing pee.
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: Thank you, Paul.
- 1:26:41Speaker 11: Just like a fresh summer day.
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: Tomorrow show opening unfolding right before our eyes.
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: Yeah, he smells great. I miss it.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Okay, it is what it is. You know what was his?
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: A cologne of choice? You know, he smells so good,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: it's like product.
- 1:26:59Speaker 16: He's just like if I told you, I'd have to
- 1:27:00Speaker 16: kill you because everyone knows how good he smells. I
- 1:27:03Speaker 16: don't miss gard as much as I missed the smell of.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Oh did g. Yeah, we could bottle that. That's another
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: great moment from all right. Welcome the Patriots back to
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Patriots Unfiltered eight five five pass five hundred is the
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: asticking hotline web radio at patriots dot com. What's the
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: email address? So you heard the first edition of Matisa's
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Hot Takes and they talked about movies. I thought they
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: were going to talk about Patriots, but anyway, it's it's
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: a it's something in development. You know.
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: Eventually some of those hot takes they're crazy.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: They'll be giving away things eventually. Uh so that'll be
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: a reason to listen, other than, of course the hot takes.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: So I do have a question, Yeap, Matt, were you
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: actually in your studio producing this as it was going
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: on and you stayed in there while that talk was
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: going on?
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: No, I got on the air and said that's offensive
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: as an Italian.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: Okay, because I can't believe you allowed the Marvel and
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: Star Wars talk.
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: Like gave that a pass. It was the comparing ravioli
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: to pop darks, Well, that's just dumb.
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: It's nothing even, I mean, yeah, there are two completely
- 1:28:12Speaker 4: different foods, like I don't really there's nothing. They have
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: nothing in common.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Right except it's it's something they both wrapped around, wrapped
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: around something inside. Yeah and closed.
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: Maybe if you have a dessert ravioli, they do make those.
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: With pasta, they'll make it those stuff it with like
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: an apples cinnamon thing.
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: A ravioli with pasta and an apple in.
- 1:28:39Speaker 8: It, like apple cinnamon stuffing, almost like apple piees. It's
- 1:28:42Speaker 8: a dessert ravioli.
- 1:28:43Speaker 7: Hmm huh.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: I never seen that before.
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: I still think I've never heard of it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: I still think the craziest hot take that I've heard
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: in this building is that macaroni cheese is overrated, and
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: that is.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: This offends you who said that at the podium. That's crazy,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Like that's crazy.
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: Macaronie cheese is.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Not, I don't know, and cheese, listen, there's there's some
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: mac and cheese are better than others, you know, obviously,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: but mac and cheese overall, the concept of it not overrated.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: I think stovetop macaroni and cheese can be overrated, but
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: like you know, oven baked. Oh yeah, there's like they're
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: like incomparable. So if we're talking about like velveta mac
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: and cheese, sure like yeah, that's.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: Just maybe Judo has never been exposed to really good
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: mac and cheese. Maybe it could be all right. Web

- 1:29:35Speaker 1: hundred disease taking a hotline. Eldred's in North Carolina. What's up, Eldred?
- 1:29:42Speaker 16: Oh?
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: Hey that cake? Yeah?
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Beat them?
- 1:29:51Speaker 9: Do you want to one of the richest women and
- 1:29:53Speaker 9: uh heard a husband one of the richest couple and
- 1:29:56Speaker 9: Altiman wool she got is not underrated, none in the least.
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: But it was funny though.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: I liked it all right, good, good, But.
- 1:30:05Speaker 9: My question is, okay, if Jack not Jones is out
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: and the secondary struggling, like we said against the packers,
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: and I know y'all covered earlier, what do you think
- 1:30:20Speaker 9: Bill nixt move would be?
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: What say that again, Eldred?
- 1:30:27Speaker 9: Everybody's I'm driving okay, I'm okay. If Jones is out
- 1:30:33Speaker 9: for a while, and the secondary is struggling even though
- 1:30:36Speaker 9: you're getting rush whatever. And what do you think Bill
- 1:30:39Speaker 9: Knicks move would be if Jones don't come back.
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: Or Jones hurt?
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I think exactly, I think exactly.
- 1:30:48Speaker 9: Trying to make Jones. I'm trying Jonathan Jones.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: Jonathan Jones.
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: Oh, Jonathan Jones. Yeah, the corner. Yeah, Oh, it's about
- 1:30:58Speaker 9: the corners everything, the secondary.
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: Jones and Jonathan Jones are out. What would the next
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: move be? I don't I don't know. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: you know, you're not going to just pick up a
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: guy that I mean.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: You have to put. You have to put Myles Bryant
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: back at cornerback. You know, you'd have to move him
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: over probably and fill in, and you know, maybe you
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: bring somebody off, you know, out from the street. But yeah,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: you're in trouble. I mean, you're hoping Christian Gonzalez is
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: playing well, but wherever you put Marcus Jones, it's gonna
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: be tough on him with the two of them out,
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: And yeah, I mean you're in You're you're in some
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: trouble there.
- 1:31:36Speaker 9: You're gonna struggle attleit because it's Preston here. Yeah, he's
- 1:31:42Speaker 9: gonna struggle a bit, so yeah, I get him by
- 1:31:44Speaker 9: the eighth ninth game, real to pick it up a
- 1:31:47Speaker 9: little bit better. Yeah, okay, yea, I have a good one.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: Okay you thanks, all right, So we'll drop El eldred
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: in on line two. Is Mike do So live from
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: joint practices in Green Bay. Hi, Mike, what's up?
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: Hey, guys.
- 1:32:05Speaker 11: Good to talk to you.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: Hi. We got a lot of questions.
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: Sounds like it's a lot better today than yesterday.
- 1:32:10Speaker 11: Deuce, Yeah, it's definitely a lot better. Mac Jones just
- 1:32:15Speaker 11: capped off like the two minute drive of like a
- 1:32:17Speaker 11: forty yard bomb to Devonte Parker that just you know,
- 1:32:20Speaker 11: set the whole sidelines, uh into hysterics.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:32:23Speaker 11: It was pretty cool moment. I didn't I was mostly
- 1:32:26Speaker 11: with the defense earlier, but Evan told me that that
- 1:32:29Speaker 11: the offense had a really really great day. A lot
- 1:32:31Speaker 11: of a lot of touchdowns, h some nice throws by Mac.
- 1:32:34Speaker 11: But but that last one was just it was a beauty.
- 1:32:37Speaker 11: I mean, you know, we've been where's the big plays?
- 1:32:39Speaker 11: Where's the big plays?
- 1:32:40Speaker 15: It was.
- 1:32:40Speaker 11: It was a really nice pass by Mac and a
- 1:32:43Speaker 11: nice way to into practice. They're still going right now,
- 1:32:45Speaker 11: but I figured i'd jump away just to kind of
- 1:32:47Speaker 11: get you guys the big bullet points.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: And from what you could tell, was that against Green
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: Bay's front defense, top defense.
- 1:32:54Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah, they were right into team period, so that
- 1:32:58Speaker 11: was basically two minutes drill. And you know they put
- 1:33:00Speaker 11: up on the clock twenty twenty one and got to
- 1:33:03Speaker 11: drive two minutes to score. So good, good day for
- 1:33:06Speaker 11: the offense. I did watch that period. Romander had a nice,
- 1:33:10Speaker 11: nice catch, but but yeah, Parker, that bomb of Parker
- 1:33:14Speaker 11: was just a beauty. I mean, he just did right
- 1:33:15Speaker 11: down the sideline and nice, just a great catch.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: How's everyone's favorite rookie receiver, Pop Douglas doing today?
- 1:33:23Speaker 11: Uh yeah, from what I heard, And then again I
- 1:33:26Speaker 11: was with the d but but he had a bunch
- 1:33:28Speaker 11: of catches in the early periods as well, so he
- 1:33:31Speaker 11: was definitely active. I did hear the Taekwon Thornton left.
- 1:33:35Speaker 11: Didn't see I didn't see what happened to him. A
- 1:33:38Speaker 11: lot of fights though, and I wouldn't say fights, but
- 1:33:40Speaker 11: a lot of skirmishes.
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: It sounds like there's a lot of fights on edge.
- 1:33:44Speaker 11: Yeah, they were saying I wrote them down. His scuffles
- 1:33:47Speaker 11: but I think that I had four scuffles and nice.
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: Well it's not a fight unless somebody got thrown out.
- 1:33:54Speaker 11: That well, Anthony Jennings did get thrown out one I
- 1:33:57Speaker 11: did see. They were doing special teams and one of
- 1:34:00Speaker 11: the Packers players just like punched key On White in
- 1:34:02Speaker 11: the face, which God bless him. I mean, the guy
- 1:34:04Speaker 11: balls of steel on that one. But then I mean
- 1:34:07Speaker 11: then Jennings came running over and just laid the guy
- 1:34:11Speaker 11: out from behind. Even Bill was like he punched him
- 1:34:13Speaker 11: in the face.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: So I like him, you know, definitely good for Jennings.
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: I think that your team, I totally.
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: People again get all upset. My god, there's fighting in
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: a football like.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: I think that stuff is good, good, especially you you
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: punch a rookie, one of your rookies in the face.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: You come out as a veteran and you defend your rookie.
- 1:34:32Speaker 7: I like that, dudes.
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: I have a question with it. Oh, I was gonna say,
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: I have a question on the secondary since you said
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: you're watching primarily the defense, you know, with John Jones
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: not there again, you know, what are they looking like?
- 1:34:46Speaker 11: Well, yesterday it was rough. I mean, I'm sure you
- 1:34:48Speaker 11: guys probably you know, read a little bit, you know,
- 1:34:50Speaker 11: a couple of blown coverages by Christian Christian DAWs. I
- 1:34:52Speaker 11: gotta say Christian Watson is outstanding. I mean he's just
- 1:34:56Speaker 11: big and fast and you know, not DeVante Adams. But
- 1:35:01Speaker 11: but today was better. You know, he did get he
- 1:35:03Speaker 11: did give up. They could give up one touchdown. I
- 1:35:05Speaker 11: wouldn't put it specifically on Gonzales. Is kind of where
- 1:35:09Speaker 11: Watson kind of came out of a bunch set and
- 1:35:11Speaker 11: a red zone and it just kind of posted up.
- 1:35:13Speaker 11: I think it was like Kyle Dugger. But otherwise he's
- 1:35:16Speaker 11: been competitive. He had a real nice pass defense downfield
- 1:35:19Speaker 11: against Kavian Wicks. I believe it was who it was,
- 1:35:22Speaker 11: So better day for a Gonzalez for sure. Marcus Jones
- 1:35:26Speaker 11: had an interception, was kind of deflected ball. He got
- 1:35:28Speaker 11: picked on a little bit, though. I think Dobbs beat
- 1:35:31Speaker 11: him once off the line pretty cleanly and walked in.
- 1:35:33Speaker 11: So Green Bay did make their share of plays today.
- 1:35:36Speaker 11: But overall, I think it was definitely a Patriots defense day,
- 1:35:40Speaker 11: not because the weird thing was not because of the
- 1:35:42Speaker 11: pressure though, And like to your question, like a lot
- 1:35:44Speaker 11: of good coverage and it was good to see impressed
- 1:35:47Speaker 11: by Jack Jones. He was really in the vicinity a
- 1:35:50Speaker 11: lot of a lot of pass breakups. I had him
- 1:35:52Speaker 11: down for two another one he was right there, kind
- 1:35:54Speaker 11: of just seemed like.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: So that's a good bounce back for him too.
- 1:35:57Speaker 11: Then huh, yeah, I have a good day.
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: Good day for him.
- 1:36:00Speaker 11: I was kind of waiting for him to maybe pop
- 1:36:02Speaker 11: off too, but but he kept his calm and I
- 1:36:05Speaker 11: thought he had had a nice day.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:36:07Speaker 11: I circled him a few times, but but overall, good day.
- 1:36:10Speaker 11: The only are the kind of bummer thing. Key On
- 1:36:12Speaker 11: White had a limp off the field. He didn't leave,
- 1:36:15Speaker 11: He was just kind of sitting off to the side.
- 1:36:16Speaker 11: Looked like maybe a knee issue.
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: For him, but he read kind of walking around.
- 1:36:21Speaker 11: Didn't seem like he was limping. So he seems like
- 1:36:23Speaker 11: he might be, you know, avoided a major injury. But
- 1:36:26Speaker 11: you know, you can never know.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: So yesterday we heard that the Patriots front seven had
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: a good day. Did that continue today?
- 1:36:34Speaker 15: Well, that's the weird thing.
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: Fred.
- 1:36:35Speaker 11: It was like it wasn't like oh, jude On and
- 1:36:37Speaker 11: Wise and you know, all these guys in the backfield.
- 1:36:39Speaker 11: It was it was more about coverage, and you know,
- 1:36:42Speaker 11: there were there were a couple of times where you know,
- 1:36:44Speaker 11: Jordan Love had to you know, had just had nothing
- 1:36:46Speaker 11: open and had to tuck it. And you know, I
- 1:36:48Speaker 11: think he's kind of sporadic. He certainly had some really
- 1:36:51Speaker 11: nice balls throughout the couple of days, but he also
- 1:36:53Speaker 11: just has some like you can't miss those kind of
- 1:36:56Speaker 11: throws too, So he was a little bit up and down.
- 1:36:58Speaker 11: There was you know, particularly on I'm sure you know,
- 1:37:01Speaker 11: like the defensive portion of that two minute drill that
- 1:37:04Speaker 11: the Patriots finished off with the touchdown to Parker. The
- 1:37:07Speaker 11: Patriots also got off the field on third down and
- 1:37:10Speaker 11: prevented the score and part of that drill. But there
- 1:37:13Speaker 11: were a couple of plays where one up the scene
- 1:37:15Speaker 11: probably should have been completed. It started all of a
- 1:37:18Speaker 11: sudden raining for like five minutes, just pouring rain for
- 1:37:21Speaker 11: five minutes, and then stuff. But it looked like the Packers,
- 1:37:23Speaker 11: especially that happened kind of when they were on offense
- 1:37:26Speaker 11: and they struggled with some of just balls going through
- 1:37:29Speaker 11: their hands. It looked like it was slick. So I
- 1:37:31Speaker 11: think there's a little bit of a caveat to you know,
- 1:37:33Speaker 11: the defensive performance there at the end. But overall, they
- 1:37:35Speaker 11: really did have a good day.
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: Okay, that sounds good and.
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: Nice bounce back, yecause it sounded like Green Bay had
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: the edge yesterday and sounds like the Patriots had the
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: edge today. So I think that probably both teams leave
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: that feeling good. You know, there was some things that
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: were good and there's some things that need working on.
- 1:37:54Speaker 11: I mean, I don't want to make too much of
- 1:37:55Speaker 11: the last play, Mac, but you know it's just that's
- 1:37:57Speaker 11: like just what this team needs right now. And you
- 1:37:59Speaker 11: just could feel how excited everybody was by that play,
- 1:38:02Speaker 11: and especially where you know, after the fights and stuff,
- 1:38:05Speaker 11: everybody was kind of jawing at each other, and there
- 1:38:07Speaker 11: was certainly a heightened tension to practice today that that
- 1:38:10Speaker 11: didn't really seem to exist yesterday. So it's just a
- 1:38:13Speaker 11: nice way to kind of cap it off. I know
- 1:38:14Speaker 11: they're probably going through the twos and threes right now,
- 1:38:17Speaker 11: but overall, it's been it's been a soliday for both
- 1:38:20Speaker 11: edges of the ball.
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: So you real quick, Mike, when I know Tamara and
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: Fred are looking to get into but is this going
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: to extend the consecutive fights at joint practices that were
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: all the other team's fault streak according to the Patriots media.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: Yes, oh, I don't know.
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: Like yesterday I heard stories about Jack Jones chasing around
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: some rookie backup quarterback and yelling at him after he
- 1:38:43Speaker 4: gave up a bomb like that.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: That checks out.
- 1:38:50Speaker 11: I got to be honest, though, I can't tell who
- 1:38:52Speaker 11: initiated them. I mean it's like, you know, all of
- 1:38:54Speaker 11: a sudden, like the whistles start that everybody kind of
- 1:38:57Speaker 11: goes in the middle. We're trying to like look in
- 1:38:58Speaker 11: between guys on the sideline. I would just say the
- 1:39:01Speaker 11: only one I knew for sure.
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that one sounds pretty Yeah. The Packers guy that
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: punched key On White, That sounds pretty obvious.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: Yeah. All the other teams are, you know, middle of
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: the line.
- 1:39:12Speaker 11: It's bar More Peppers.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: You know those peppers in a fight.
- 1:39:17Speaker 11: Come on, he was chirping them the whole practice. I
- 1:39:23Speaker 11: mean peppers.
- 1:39:23Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:39:24Speaker 11: Look, I know I'm a Peppers guy. Maybe I would
- 1:39:26Speaker 11: have maybe liked a little bit toned down, but the
- 1:39:28Speaker 11: whole day today, I mean they you know, their third
- 1:39:30Speaker 11: stringers were in and the Patriots defense is dominated in
- 1:39:33Speaker 11: the third string reps. For whatever it's worth, not much,
- 1:39:35Speaker 11: but every time Peppers would be like back, you just
- 1:39:38Speaker 11: be screaming at himself. So he's funny. I mean, he's
- 1:39:41Speaker 11: just he's cracking me up for bringing the energy. But
- 1:39:45Speaker 11: but overall, yeah, no, Barmore was definitely in the midst
- 1:39:47Speaker 11: of it. And and I could tell early on with
- 1:39:49Speaker 11: some of the scrums that Jennings was like ready to go,
- 1:39:52Speaker 11: Like the second he was on the sideline and he
- 1:39:54Speaker 11: saw them, you know, starting to go out it in
- 1:39:55Speaker 11: the middle of shild he was like itch and ago.
- 1:39:58Speaker 11: You could tell they had they had to hold him back.
- 1:40:00Speaker 11: But but you know, overall, I think it's just like
- 1:40:02Speaker 11: you said, Paul, it's been fighting football a little bit,
- 1:40:05Speaker 11: you know here that second day, a little bad blood
- 1:40:07Speaker 11: and they got over it, and I think they got
- 1:40:09Speaker 11: some productive working after they got through those you know,
- 1:40:11Speaker 11: initial scrum.
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: Yeah, within reason.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: I like that. How's how are the facilities.
- 1:40:17Speaker 11: Oh well, I mean it's uh, it's been pretty cool
- 1:40:19Speaker 11: just seeing that. You know, I walked over to Lambeau.
- 1:40:21Speaker 11: I didn't do the tour or anything, but but but
- 1:40:23Speaker 11: they're nice. They got two fields that are like you know,
- 1:40:25Speaker 11: separated by a really big, nice indoor facility, so you know,
- 1:40:29Speaker 11: good crowd, you know, the number of Patriots fans that
- 1:40:31Speaker 11: have come out and you know, waving flags and all
- 1:40:33Speaker 11: that kind of stuff. So that was, you know, cool
- 1:40:35Speaker 11: to see, but uh but really nice seating. I mean
- 1:40:37Speaker 11: they were able to really accommodate a lot of fans here,
- 1:40:40Speaker 11: and uh, I just I think one of the coolest
- 1:40:42Speaker 11: things was was yesterday. You know, so you're the two
- 1:40:45Speaker 11: teams are on the opposite field, so you don't even
- 1:40:47Speaker 11: really realize that the pack is here and we're on
- 1:40:49Speaker 11: the backside right near where where where Lamba is and
- 1:40:54Speaker 11: so we're warming up, you know, it's like usual drills.
- 1:40:56Speaker 11: There wasn't really any music yesterday, and like okay, they're
- 1:40:58Speaker 11: like all right, let's go to the other side. So
- 1:41:00Speaker 11: everybody just starts to walk over, and I mean we
- 1:41:02Speaker 11: literally walk onto the other field the Packers. I mean
- 1:41:04Speaker 11: it's packed with fans and the Packers are just out
- 1:41:07Speaker 11: there with with their two units on the two different fields,
- 1:41:10Speaker 11: just waiting with their eleven guys on defense, like okay,
- 1:41:12Speaker 11: here we go, Like can you just walk right over
- 1:41:14Speaker 11: right into it? And there you go. So it was
- 1:41:16Speaker 11: kind of cool, like just to see all of a sudden,
- 1:41:18Speaker 11: the energy just goes through the loops.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that is kind of I think I.
- 1:41:21Speaker 11: Texted, I texted Morale. They just they play music the
- 1:41:24Speaker 11: whole time.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: It's like going it's like going down the block to
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: play the other kids, you know.
- 1:41:29Speaker 11: Right what it was like they're just sitting there waiting
- 1:41:31Speaker 11: on the field, like eleven guys sitting like come on.
- 1:41:34Speaker 11: So so that was kind of cool.
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: How about everybody behaving themselves? Are we okay?
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: You can you can ask him that offline?
- 1:41:42Speaker 11: What I would I would hint it something if there
- 1:41:45Speaker 11: was anything, but no, it's been a it's been a
- 1:41:47Speaker 11: low key trip.
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: Everything's been hid.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: Okay, back to more important questions football. I mean, if
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: you weren't ask anything off the field, you could ask him,
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: has he tried tried a cheese? Like, yeah, you're asking
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: if everyone's behaving, just that.
- 1:42:05Speaker 11: He's the boss man.
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: Do any special teams work?
- 1:42:11Speaker 11: I I kind of like usually when the special teams
- 1:42:14Speaker 11: what happen? Because me and Evan would be at opposite
- 1:42:16Speaker 11: ends and they have like it's not field lined up
- 1:42:19Speaker 11: with each other, but it's probably like one and two
- 1:42:22Speaker 11: thirds of field. So Evan was down with the offense.
- 1:42:24Speaker 11: I was down a defense. So it's like as soon
- 1:42:26Speaker 11: as those periods ended and they're like, okay, Punt, I
- 1:42:29Speaker 11: just go running down to Evan and be like, I
- 1:42:30Speaker 11: have no idea what's going on on? Off I show
- 1:42:33Speaker 11: me and what's going on? So I I but my
- 1:42:35Speaker 11: my quick observations is I was kind of doing that
- 1:42:38Speaker 11: was yesterday it looked like Berenger bossed a couple of them.
- 1:42:41Speaker 9: It just didn't look good. Today.
- 1:42:44Speaker 11: Looked a little bit better, but really windy and gusty
- 1:42:46Speaker 11: here today, so that affected it. But Devin, I'm sure
- 1:42:50Speaker 11: they're probably doing field goals now, so I'm missing those.
- 1:42:53Speaker 11: But overall kind of kind of tough to tell, uh
- 1:42:57Speaker 11: from what from where?
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: I was all right, well, I'll be there tomorrow, so
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: I expect the King's welcome.
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: Okay, I have one more. I have one more quick
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: one before we let you go. Do attendance Wise, peerre
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: Strong hasn't been practicing correct?
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Correct?
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: Is he there?
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Do you know?
- 1:43:14Speaker 14: No?
- 1:43:14Speaker 11: I haven't haven't seen him. He wasn't here yesterday, I
- 1:43:17Speaker 11: wasn't here today.
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: I have a developing take on Pierre Strong. I'll fill
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: you when you get back.
- 1:43:24Speaker 9: I look forward to that.
- 1:43:25Speaker 11: Connor McDermott though was the one who left practice yesterday
- 1:43:28Speaker 11: and was not here today. So I also saw I
- 1:43:31Speaker 11: think Jake Andrews left from the offensive end of the field.
- 1:43:34Speaker 11: So two injuries key on White one will definitely be
- 1:43:37Speaker 11: uh one to monitor, although I feel like just shut
- 1:43:40Speaker 11: him down, get him ready for the So I.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Have one final question, like from the reports yesterday, depending
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: on who you read, the different things happen, Barring yourself
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: and Evan, do you if you read all the other people,
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: who was the most accurate from what they wrote what
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: happened yesterday?
- 1:43:59Speaker 11: Well, I mean I was I was taken back by
- 1:44:01Speaker 11: some of the stats people because I just have no idea,
- 1:44:04Speaker 11: given this set up, how anyone could possibly track the
- 1:44:07Speaker 11: stats here. But uh, but you know, I kind of
- 1:44:10Speaker 11: liked what Badar did at the top of his right
- 1:44:12Speaker 11: up where he was just like and this what he said.
- 1:44:14Speaker 11: He's like, I don't know. Some of the big plays
- 1:44:15Speaker 11: might have been stacked, some of the plays that were
- 1:44:17Speaker 11: ruled out of bounds booked in bounds. There was one
- 1:44:20Speaker 11: big play that I saw that the Packers had it
- 1:44:22Speaker 11: that I clearly saw the ref ruling incomplete, and the
- 1:44:25Speaker 11: Packers celebrated like they just won the Super Bowl. So
- 1:44:28Speaker 11: I just think any any report you're getting out of
- 1:44:31Speaker 11: this needs to be taken, you know, with definitely a
- 1:44:33Speaker 11: grain of.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Salt, even especially yours, No, especially mine.
- 1:44:36Speaker 11: I'm not even watching it. I'm just sitting here at Lambeau.
- 1:44:39Speaker 11: But you know, it's it's we're all kind of helping
- 1:44:41Speaker 11: each other and you know, talking and trying to fill
- 1:44:43Speaker 11: in the blanks. But I think there's a lot of
- 1:44:45Speaker 11: blanks for everybody, and especially just because no one could
- 1:44:48Speaker 11: watch offense and defense at the seam.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: Well, everybody that I read insisted that DeVante Parker was
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: in bounds on a touchdown catch that the referees ruled
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: out of bounds that they said they didn't he didn't
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: hold out of the ball, and then their proof was
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: they asked Parker afterwards and he said, oh, okay.
- 1:45:05Speaker 11: Yeah, but I mean I did see the other one
- 1:45:08Speaker 11: that looked like I saw the ref going incomplete, and
- 1:45:11Speaker 11: you know, and then they celebrated so hard to stay.
- 1:45:14Speaker 11: But I would say, overall, you know, they've done some
- 1:45:17Speaker 11: good things on both sides of the ball these two days.
- 1:45:19Speaker 11: I think it was valuable. A lot of guys got work,
- 1:45:21Speaker 11: and I think there's good stuff to take away barring,
- 1:45:24Speaker 11: you know, a key on white injury, which I think
- 1:45:25Speaker 11: everybody would like to avoid at this point.
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: About the Taekwon injury, I think that was that was when.
- 1:45:31Speaker 11: I didn't see either. He left the field during the
- 1:45:33Speaker 11: early period, So so I'm not sure exactly what that was,
- 1:45:37Speaker 11: but we'll try to find out.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: It was yesterday's practice forty five minutes or three hours,
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: because we've heard anything in between.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: People couldn't even agree on that.
- 1:45:48Speaker 11: Mike, Sorry, I lost you guys there.
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: People couldn't even agree on how long the practice was yesterday.
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: Mike Reeses, I think had the two hours twenty seven minutes.
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: I saw other people say over three hours.
- 1:46:02Speaker 11: I mean they were supposed to stop at twelve thirty.
- 1:46:04Speaker 11: They went till one, you know, So so it was
- 1:46:07Speaker 11: it was at least two and a half to three hours.
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: That's a half hour longer than they were supposed to
- 1:46:10Speaker 4: go to two and a half hours.
- 1:46:12Speaker 11: Yeah, so it's still pretty relentless, though. I mean, it
- 1:46:16Speaker 11: was just you know, I mean eleven on eleven, rep
- 1:46:18Speaker 11: after rep after rep, you know, and then they I mean,
- 1:46:21Speaker 11: it's just it's overwhelming how much is going on on
- 1:46:24Speaker 11: both ends of the field, so it certainly felt more
- 1:46:26Speaker 11: than three hours. I have built up like four pages
- 1:46:29Speaker 11: of my notebook.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: But we've definitely seen that enjoint practices in the past.
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they get going and like, let's not stop.
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: It takes more time, it takes more.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: Time, but they do more, you know, I think as
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: it becomes more productive than the preseason game.
- 1:46:42Speaker 11: You know, Oh, I think it's it's so true, and
- 1:46:45Speaker 11: I mean it's just, I mean, it's so obvious how
- 1:46:47Speaker 11: they break it down to where it's you know, they
- 1:46:49Speaker 11: start with all first down work, first down, first down,
- 1:46:51Speaker 11: first down. Then they you know, moved to the middle
- 1:46:53Speaker 11: of the fields and they do you know, first down,
- 1:46:54Speaker 11: second down. They've got you know, the chains out and everything.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:46:57Speaker 11: Then it's red zone and then it's two minutes it
- 1:47:00Speaker 11: and you know, so it's it's no real mystery as
- 1:47:02Speaker 11: to what the setup is. But they just blast through
- 1:47:05Speaker 11: so many plays it's hard to keep track of it.
- 1:47:07Speaker 19: All.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: All right, dudes, we'll let you get back to it.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: I know you've got a lot of work to do
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: once practice ends. So thanks for calling in.
- 1:47:16Speaker 4: Mike.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: Will see you Saturday and I will see you tomorrow,
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: So be prepared yeah, all right.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: You and Michael be ship's passing in the night.
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Oh that's right, you're leaving. Yeah, you're coming back to
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: do the show. Yeah.
- 1:47:27Speaker 11: Well, right now it looks like I'm going to be
- 1:47:30Speaker 11: in Chicago for a couple of hours.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: That well, I know, I got to go through there
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: in the way.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: Also, never connect through Chicago, guys, come on, that's the
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: worst airport.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: Not a lot of options. Yeah, I mean it's either
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Detroit or Chicago.
- 1:47:44Speaker 7: Detroit.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: Never do Chicago.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: I'm doing Detroit on the way.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Trust me, been there, done that, got a T shirt,
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: key chain, and hat.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: Don't do it.
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: That used to be my home base. It's so bad.
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: The good thing is I have a really early flight,
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: so usually the later flights are the ones that get delayed.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: But both of those airports, you're always going to be killed.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: They called the.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: Black hole because you go in, you don't come out.
- 1:48:05Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: I just think we don't have to get into that.
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: Maybe that's a topic for Matisa's Worst Airport. Well, just
- 1:48:15Speaker 4: the state of air travel right now.
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: It's off.
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: I don't know why.
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: We're painting through the nose and they treat us like animals.
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: You know, no flight can get anywhere on and.
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: Then the behavior that people don't make it any better.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: People just impolite, you know, just it's awful.
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: I had this one flight I was on recently where
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: we're on the plane and the guys yelling at the
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: flight attendant for how long they're taking to get the
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: bags on the plane and telling her how they should
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: be getting the bags on the plane quicker and when
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: they should have. Yeah, it was crazy, and she was just.
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: Like, what's she going to do?
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: She's on the plane with you, what is she going
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: to do?
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:48:50Speaker 7: It was absurd.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: Now, listen, I understand people get frustrated. You know, I've
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: been there, but there's nothing they can do exactly. You know, Yeah,
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: flight travel is.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: There's nothing that the crew can do, but there's something
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: the airlines can do. It doesn't have to be every
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: flight every other flight's getting canceled or a delay.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: I believe there should be a passenger's bill of rights
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: that you know, we have rights, but then an agreement
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: that passengers sign a behavior sort of like you know
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: your parents at your youth sports.
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I get that, and I think the behavior is
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: a lot of times ridiculously bad, and I just wonder
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: what comes first?
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: Is it being treated like this like time and time again,
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: it's not cheap to travel and it's not efficient to travel,
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: Like what is in it for the passenger?
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Here's something that kind of irked me the other day.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: I'm on X and it was a writer and she
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: was traveling and she's like, I just can't believe the
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: amount of people traveling that don't have TSA pre check,
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: you know, in this thing. Why would anyone not have that?
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: And I'm thinking of so, lady, you're probably looking at
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: a lot of people who this is their one and
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: only flight this year, Like not everyone's like you where
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: they're flying.
- 1:50:12Speaker 4: And if you have it, why would you care other
- 1:50:14Speaker 4: people that don't.
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: Right, Because if everybody has it, then it does it's.
- 1:50:16Speaker 4: Only making it worse for you, Right.
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: But like most people that you're looking at prop that
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: don't have TSA, this is probably their one flight a year,
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: you know, So like do you have it? Friend? I
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: just got it.
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: I don't have it.
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: I just got it. Yeah, But like you know anyway, yeah.
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: I mean, knock on wood. That's one of the very
- 1:50:36Speaker 4: few things I've never really had a problem with is
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: going through the security, the check.
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: I only got it because of the airports that I
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: consistently fly in and out of. Atlanta Airport is a nightmare.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Like and without it, you wait in that line.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: Oh, it's definitely worth having. You should. If you fly
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: a few times a year, you should get it. You
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: should get it.
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: But for certain like if you live in Providence, for example,
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: you probably don't need it, like I show up to
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: the airport ten minutes before my flight boards. Yeah, it's fine,
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: but it depends on where you live, I think.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: Yeah. All right, back to the phones, we'll go to
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: Paul and Vancouver. What's up? Paul, Hey, Fred? How you
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: do good? I'm trouble a lot of problems today.
- 1:51:18Speaker 11: The hell that segment was there earlier had on? Oh
- 1:51:21Speaker 11: that I've been listening for a long time, and I
- 1:51:24Speaker 11: would say.
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: That's I think this is Matt cutting him off on purpose.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: All right, Paul, callback John's and Duxbury. What's up, John, gentlemen,
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: lady good Hey John.
- 1:51:39Speaker 11: Hi, listen. Since that boutet coming on and and cuming
- 1:51:43Speaker 11: in as flash, what are the chances, uh, do you
- 1:51:46Speaker 11: think of getting them through waivers onto the onto the
- 1:51:50Speaker 11: practice squad.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: I think I think that'll be Okay. I mean a
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: lot of most teams are they've got their depth at receiver,
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: you know, and boutet that much better than another team's
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: fourth receiver, where.
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: I would worry more about Booty than I would counting him.
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: But yeah, there's there's always a risk. And Bill says
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: this all the time. Anytime you cut a guy, you
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: have to be prepared that you're gonna lose him. So
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: we've seen guys, you know, get claimed off waivers that
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: they tried to get to the practice squad many times,
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: and there's a chance that they could lose both of
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: those guys if they try to do that. Booty, I
- 1:52:26Speaker 4: would say, just because I think teams are always looking
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: for depth at various positions. I think quarterback is a
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: little bit different now. If he plays more in these
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: preseason games and flashes, you know, more than he did
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: even against Houston, then that might change it. Right now,
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: I have reasonable confidence though that you could get him through,
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: but not easy.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: You get a hope, yeah, Joe and Warick, New York
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: says a Pats fan for sixty years can't stand the Jets.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: Two scenarios. Would you like the Patriots to get eleven wins?
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: In an early exit from the playoffs, but the Jets
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: make it to the super Bowl, or the Patriots get
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: seven wins but the Jets implode and get five wins.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: I'll take the seven wins in five.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: You're out of your mind. Yeah, I'll take eleven wins.
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: I would not be able to stomach the Jets getting
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: to the super Bowl.
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: So even if they get there and get it, you
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: hate the Jets more than you like the Patriots. I
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: like the Patriots more than.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: I I hate the Jets more than se I hate
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: the Jets more than an early exit in the playoffs.
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I would rather win eleven games and be on
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: my way to getting back into contention here. I'd be
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: disappointed the Patriots lost their first playoff game after winning
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: eleven games, but I would at least have hope for
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: the future. What was the second scenario, winning six or
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: seven games? Yeah, now I need a new quarterback next year.
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: I'd probably need a new coach next year.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: Yeah, not necessarily. It could have been because of injuries
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: or whatever. But to put the Jets in the trash
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: heap just solves one problem that we have.
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: That's not a problem for me, though. I'm a Patriots fan.
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: So the Jets is not a problem for me.
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: It might be this year for you.
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: It is you hate the Jets more than you like
- 1:54:06Speaker 4: the Patriots were separated.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: So far, the reviews are in on the show within
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: a show. Not good so far really yeah, not good.
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: Well I'm a good review from Chris Gogelos. He said
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: he enjoyed it.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Okay, don't hate the pilot. Okay, no, no listen. If
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: if you went by the pilot, Seinfeld would have never continued.
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: So I saw our buddy Chris Gogelos the other night
- 1:54:28Speaker 4: at the Games.
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: Yeah, shooting for NFL Films. The Trader.
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: I think he's listening to the show right now, Trader.
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: Go go sorrow Mine in the tunnel.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: No, I'm only kidding. Do some part time work for them.
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: That'd be good for him.
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: It sounds like you're really happy.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: For Travis says he'd rather listen to commercials than that segment. Wow. Wow,
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: it's too bad.
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to listen to the next one because
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: I only caught a couple of the topics.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: I didn't really, it'll be better when we're getting really
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: hit away, when we're giving stuff away. You know, still
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: not really sure what it's for people.
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know what taking away the focus?
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: Why are we doing that, Matt? Why are we doing
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: the show within the show?
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: We don't run ten minutes of commercials anymore.
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: Oh, but we don't need to run ten minutes of commercials.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: You can shoot it to whatever you need to shoot
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: it to.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: Now we have to eat, Paul, Fred, you.
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: Eat in thirty seconds. Not it's the rest of Tamara,
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: so she can finish the rest for you.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: No, we need we need some point, some kind of
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: break so we can eat, and if we can entertain
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: during that break rather than just you know, the same
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Bank of America commercial, No disrespect to the Bank of America,
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: but you know, the same commercial over and over again.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: I think that's why I don't think.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: You need to run you know, eight or ten minutes
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: of commercial But I know Matt does that, so he
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: allows us for a time. But they don't need that.
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: But so this case, maybe we can do something that
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: people like. So well, it's a work in progress. It's
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: a work in progress.
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: It's just taking away to focus from me and you. Fred,
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: No, we gives us a chance to eat Paul for crying, Oh,
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: I'm eat either way. So I don't, especially with the cameras. Now,
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: you know, you get food out and nobody wants to
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: look at that or half eaten sandwich.
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: So the solution to that is put the cameras away.
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: No one wants to look at this.
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: Either, I know, but people want the cameras.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: I don't really think they do.
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: No, We've had many people saying, you know, we hope
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: that all the shows are on YouTube.
- 1:56:22Speaker 4: It's kind of like Twitter followers. It's the same twelve people.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: Oh is that right? You think so could be a
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: vocal minority.
- 1:56:29Speaker 4: I just don't know anyone who likes watching radio on TV.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: I when I'm home, I don't mind watching The Felger
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: Show on TV.
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't watch it. I put it on as
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: white noise in the background, but I'm not watching.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: But every once in a while you look up.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: Veronica said that her dad watches, like physically watches it
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: at home as our show. Osha, god literally our show.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: Bless him.
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: She walked in. He was watching one from like two
- 1:56:55Speaker 3: days ago.
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and Veronica was like, shut that off. I see
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: enough of those morons.
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think, But like I said, I I
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: will watch the Felger Show.
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not saying I've never put it on, but
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: I don't. I don't actively watch it.
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: It's my point. Well, it's not good, but it's not crazy.
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: But it's not good TV. It's not a good viewing experience.
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: It's a studio just like this right now. Like I
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: know that's not good. I'm looking at myself right now.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: But you know, you see the reactions, you see their faces.
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: I will say certain reactions, especially from Paul, like they're
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: good to see it.
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: That's why I don't like the cameras well.
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: I mean when Paul and I get into one of our.
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: Like last show, if the cameras were on, its amazing.
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: When I almost snuffed when he said the thing about
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: hating the Jets and I almost had the diagraptic come
- 1:57:46Speaker 4: out my nose.
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: So we'll get there, we'll get there. Work in progress,
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: and I think what we're working on, man, I don't
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: want to get we're going to have all the shows
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: on video, not just Thursday. Right, yeah, thumbs up.
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: So we're going in the wrong direct.

- 1:58:10Speaker 1: you gotta yeah, you're gonna have to get all dolled
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: up and everything, you know.
- 1:58:15Speaker 7: Yeah, Paul's like, no, that's bad, Paul.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: You're gonna have to get dolled up too. This is
