- 0:15Speaker 1: What's good people, it's your boy and I See. It's Thursday.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And just like Jerry Seinfeld or the Insaint Martin Payne
- 0:24Speaker 1: back in the nineties, your boy and I See is
- 0:26Speaker 1: here to entertain. YouTube ex or ig is where you
- 0:30Speaker 1: can find me. Hey man, Welcome back guys, girls. Everybody
- 0:38Speaker 1: appreciate y'all tuning in. We gotta start off with the
- 0:41Speaker 1: fact that Gianni's intent to kompo. He wants out. Everybody
- 0:48Speaker 1: has been talking about this since before the season. A
- 0:51Speaker 1: lot of people have been saying that Gianni's was gonna
- 0:54Speaker 1: be looking to make a move, especially if the Bucks
- 0:57Speaker 1: were not looking like they're contenders. The Bucks start it off, well,
- 1:01Speaker 1: Janni's got a little bit injured, rollins is, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 1: leveled up and looking like a much better player, and
- 1:09Speaker 1: then the Bucks starts to fall off. The Buck's taking
- 1:13Speaker 1: l to those New York Knicks just last week. Giannis
- 1:17Speaker 1: is supposed to be out, he's hurt. But what do
- 1:21Speaker 1: you know, as soon as he got hurt, and they
- 1:23Speaker 1: said about two weeks, and you saw that they were
- 1:25Speaker 1: playing the Knicks in ten days, you already knew he
- 1:27Speaker 1: was gonna get me back. Madison Square Garden has a
- 1:30Speaker 1: way of making it, making it that everybody, all of
- 1:34Speaker 1: a sudden just heals up. The amount of times guys
- 1:36Speaker 1: are out and all of a sudden they're questionable right
- 1:38Speaker 1: before they play the Knicks, and then they're suiting up
- 1:40Speaker 1: and having great games. I mean, if you and Knicks fan,
- 1:42Speaker 1: you already know nothing. Heals you like a potential trip
- 1:46Speaker 1: to the garden. And then when Shams comes out and
- 1:50Speaker 1: he says that, yo, it looks like he's he wants
- 1:56Speaker 1: out immediately, immediately, all over Knicks Twitter, all over ESPN.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The conversation becomes, will the Knicks go all in and
- 2:10Speaker 1: get Yannis? And when Seam says something, you know there's
- 2:18Speaker 1: something to it. You know it's real, and we know
- 2:24Speaker 1: that going back to the off season, the Knicks made
- 2:27Speaker 1: a legitimate offer, or at least what they thought was
- 2:31Speaker 1: a legitimate offer for Giannis. Obviously that trade didn't go down.
- 2:38Speaker 1: A lot of people can say this or that about
- 2:40Speaker 1: who they thought was going to be in that trade
- 2:44Speaker 1: offer from the Knicks. And now the big debate on
- 2:49Speaker 1: Twitter amongst Knicks fans is should we go all in
- 2:55Speaker 1: for Yannis? Many Knicks fans feel like anybody but Brunson.
- 3:02Speaker 1: There's a lot of people in the middle that feel like, yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know, I like Giannis. I would like to get him,
- 3:09Speaker 1: but we can't just give up everybody for him. There's
- 3:13Speaker 1: some other people people like me, and there's not many
- 3:18Speaker 1: of us. We are the minority who feel like I
- 3:23Speaker 1: love Giannis. I think he's a great player. I don't
- 3:26Speaker 1: think it makes sense for the Knicks. I don't think
- 3:28Speaker 1: it makes sense for the Knicks. I also don't think
- 3:30Speaker 1: it makes sense for the Bucks. I think the only
- 3:32Speaker 1: way this trade gets done is if there's a third
- 3:34Speaker 1: team involved. And I feel like, personally, as much as
- 3:41Speaker 1: people love to get the star, as much as people
- 3:46Speaker 1: know that Yannis is a top five player in this
- 3:49Speaker 1: league when healthy, I personally don't feel like it's the
- 3:54Speaker 1: move for the Knicks. I don't see it. I don't
- 3:59Speaker 1: think that we should get him. I don't think he's
- 4:01Speaker 1: a good fit, and I don't think that his game
- 4:04Speaker 1: is going to age. Well say no to Jannis. Now.
- 4:13Speaker 1: A lot of this feeling of hey, we have to
- 4:15Speaker 1: go get Yannis comes down to Knicks fans and their
- 4:21Speaker 1: love hate relationship with Karl Anthony Towns. I'm gonna get
- 4:26Speaker 1: into that a little bit more. I think we need
- 4:28Speaker 1: to stop on all the cat hate. But I want
- 4:30Speaker 1: to talk about specifically going out and getting Yannis and
- 4:35Speaker 1: what that could mean. So let's say the Knicks give
- 4:39Speaker 1: up Carl Anthony Towns, either og or McHale Bridges and
- 4:48Speaker 1: then we get Yannis and say, like a Bobby portis back.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but I just don't think that works. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: don't think it works. Shout to my guy CP in
- 5:04Speaker 1: the chat. Shout to my guy Keith in the chat.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Oh Man, Knicks fans, always appreciate y'all. Always been supporting me, always, always,
- 5:13Speaker 1: always appreciate the love my man CP CP. He disagrees.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Go check out for any Mets news, my guy true
- 5:23Speaker 1: Mets talk, my man's CP and why he does a
- 5:27Speaker 1: great job covering the Mets and just talk in New
- 5:29Speaker 1: York Sports. He's got all his fandoms right, except he's
- 5:33Speaker 1: a Giants fan. He's not a Jets fan. But yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know anyway, yeah man, Look, listen. Can't take anything
- 5:39Speaker 1: away from Yiannis. Transcendent player, one of the best players
- 5:44Speaker 1: in the league, went healthy. My issue with Giannis is this,
- 5:48Speaker 1: as a player, first and foremost, his game is not
- 5:55Speaker 1: going to age well. His game is predicated on athleticism
- 6:01Speaker 1: and he has no jump shot. So if you're going
- 6:07Speaker 1: to mortgage the entire future and go all in on Yiannis,
- 6:11Speaker 1: then the window which the Knicks are in a short
- 6:14Speaker 1: window they need to win in the next few years.
- 6:15Speaker 1: That's kind of the way that you know things are
- 6:19Speaker 1: are looking and obviously the overall game plan by Leon Rose.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Excuse me if I sign a little nasally. You boy's
- 6:26Speaker 1: been battling something this week, but I'm doing my best.
- 6:30Speaker 1: We hear and at the end of the day, if
- 6:34Speaker 1: we go out and we get Yannis, now you're saying that, hey,
- 6:41Speaker 1: we gotta do this in the next few years. Because
- 6:44Speaker 1: Jannis is thirty one years old. As old man Knicks
- 6:50Speaker 1: fan points out, he's gotten hurt the last three seasons.
- 6:55Speaker 1: This was my thought process before he goes down with
- 6:59Speaker 1: the non contact injury on Wednesday with the calf, A
- 7:05Speaker 1: lot of people were scared that it could be an
- 7:07Speaker 1: achilles whenever you see a guy go down non contact
- 7:09Speaker 1: and start grabbing back there. But it's looking like two
- 7:12Speaker 1: to four weeks, the Bucks are saying, and he'll be reevaluated.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but when I look to the future and
- 7:21Speaker 1: I know that Karl Anthony Towns has plenty, plenty of shortcomings,
- 7:29Speaker 1: things that drive you crazy. I think that they get
- 7:32Speaker 1: overblown sometimes. I think that Knicks fans need to take
- 7:34Speaker 1: a step back sometimes and realize that this guy won
- 7:37Speaker 1: multiple playoff games for US last year, and when used properly,
- 7:42Speaker 1: is one of the most dangerous offensive weapons that there is.
- 7:49Speaker 1: But when you look at a guy like Towns, Town's
- 7:52Speaker 1: gonna be able to do what he does as long
- 7:57Speaker 1: for I mean, his game is not predicated on athleticism.
- 8:00Speaker 1: He's not a very athletic dude. He's always gonna be
- 8:04Speaker 1: able to shoot. Shooting never gets old. It typically only
- 8:07Speaker 1: gets better. Giannis, on the other hand, if you take listen,
- 8:13Speaker 1: if he were to like tearing Achilles, and we've seen
- 8:16Speaker 1: what that does to a lot of these players, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: you know they go down a notch athletically all of
- 8:22Speaker 1: a sudden, How good is Giannis if he's not able
- 8:27Speaker 1: to take three strides from the half court line and
- 8:32Speaker 1: raise up and dunk on people. I listen, I don't
- 8:38Speaker 1: see it. I don't see it as making sense. You
- 8:42Speaker 1: want to go all in and you want to make
- 8:44Speaker 1: it happen this year. Guess what. That's not this new NBA.
- 8:48Speaker 1: That's not the NBA that we're seeing right now. The
- 8:51Speaker 1: new NBA is about team building, not star chasing. It's
- 8:57Speaker 1: about putting the right players in the right position and
- 9:00Speaker 1: having a full team, a full entire team top to
- 9:08Speaker 1: bottom with the bench. That was the nick shortcoming last year.
- 9:11Speaker 1: We didn't have the bench. But you need complementary pieces
- 9:15Speaker 1: that are all going to fit together and play well
- 9:19Speaker 1: around your stars. That's today's NBA. That's where the NBA
- 9:25Speaker 1: is going this whole. Let's just get a bunch of
- 9:29Speaker 1: really good players to make a super team. That shit
- 9:32Speaker 1: is done, man, that shit has done it. We're gonna
- 9:36Speaker 1: talk about Okay, see a little bit later, but that
- 9:39Speaker 1: shit right there. I don't see it. And I'm telling you,
- 9:43Speaker 1: Giannis is not a good fit. Jannison Brunson not a
- 9:47Speaker 1: good fit. We're Giannis and Dame Dalla a good fit.
- 9:52Speaker 1: When he played with another diminutive guard who is a
- 9:56Speaker 1: really good offensive player, how did that work out? How
- 10:01Speaker 1: did that work out? I don't see it. I do
- 10:05Speaker 1: not see it. And my guy PC says Leon won't
- 10:09Speaker 1: do it, though clearly he is in the camp that
- 10:12Speaker 1: he wants to get Giannis to New York. I don't
- 10:17Speaker 1: think Leon will do it. Leon has showed patience throughout,
- 10:23Speaker 1: He's shown patients and he has gone after pieces that
- 10:27Speaker 1: he feels like fit. Brunson obviously is the one untouchable
- 10:33Speaker 1: for me personally, Bridges is pretty close to untouchable at
- 10:37Speaker 1: this point. Bridges is having an excellent year. He has
- 10:42Speaker 1: been extremely efficient. If there is any criticism I have
- 10:46Speaker 1: of Bridges this year, it's that I need him to
- 10:48Speaker 1: be more aggressive. And one of my criticisms of the
- 10:54Speaker 1: entire team Bridges and Mike Brown is and this isn't
- 10:58Speaker 1: even really a criticism of Bridges, because Bridges is one
- 11:01Speaker 1: of those guys that he just plays the game the
- 11:03Speaker 1: right way all the time. And Mike Brown and the
- 11:08Speaker 1: Knicks they need to do a better job of forcing
- 11:13Speaker 1: action his way. Especially Layton games. There's been times where
- 11:17Speaker 1: he's on fire for three quarters and then in the
- 11:18Speaker 1: fourth quarter we're not featuring him enough. In the Knicks
- 11:22Speaker 1: loss to the Celtics a couple of nights ago, Bridges
- 11:26Speaker 1: is cooking in the fourth Brunson is having his worst
- 11:29Speaker 1: game as a Knick, maybe the worst game of his
- 11:31Speaker 1: NBA career, and we're still continuing to run everything through Brunson.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I thought at that point we should have been running
- 11:39Speaker 1: more through Bridges. I think in general, especially Layton close games,
- 11:42Speaker 1: we need to be running more through Bridges. Bridges is
- 11:46Speaker 1: getting better at scoring at the rim. We know his
- 11:48Speaker 1: mid range game is deadly, we know his three point
- 11:50Speaker 1: game is deadly. And in his size he has more
- 11:54Speaker 1: ability to get the ball off. And I love Brunson
- 11:57Speaker 1: catching the ball after the defense is made to collect
- 12:00Speaker 1: and now he's attacking a close out, or he's attacking
- 12:03Speaker 1: you know, somebody who's coming at him at a bad angle.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I love that for Brunson. Mike Brown, I you know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: maybe you're a fan of the show, maybe not, But
- 12:13Speaker 1: if you are, run more for Bridges, please so. Bridges
- 12:18Speaker 1: for me is pretty close to untouchable. Brunson obviously untouchable Og.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I love OG's game so much. The only thing that
- 12:32Speaker 1: bothers me or scares me, I should say about Og
- 12:35Speaker 1: is the injuries. And he's injured right now. He's got
- 12:40Speaker 1: a hammy. He's questionable for tomorrow's game, which to me
- 12:46Speaker 1: says he will either play tomorrow if he doesn't he
- 12:49Speaker 1: will play Sunday against Orlando. There has been some reports
- 12:55Speaker 1: earlier this week, nothing from any big major accounts, but
- 12:58Speaker 1: a couple people that you know, feel like they got
- 13:01Speaker 1: some scoops or some sources were saying that they thought
- 13:03Speaker 1: og was gonna be back by Sunday, and now it
- 13:06Speaker 1: looks like it's trending that way. I just don't see it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I don't. As different as Brunson and Giannis are, they
- 13:18Speaker 1: are both similar in the fact that they need the
- 13:21Speaker 1: ball in their hands to be effective. Even in this
- 13:24Speaker 1: new Mike Brown free flowing, move it around, you know,
- 13:30Speaker 1: drive and spray offense, there are times where you just
- 13:33Speaker 1: got to give the ball to Brunson, let him do
- 13:34Speaker 1: his thing, because Brunson will kill you in that mid range.
- 13:40Speaker 1: He'll drive you crazy. And just I mean, who was
- 13:43Speaker 1: it against last week? There was one game where he
- 13:45Speaker 1: just kept working the right elbow over and over again
- 13:47Speaker 1: and they couldn't do nothing with him. That's Brunson's superpower. Yiannis,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you gotta give him the ball and get out the
- 13:54Speaker 1: way and let him do his thing. Gianni's is not
- 13:56Speaker 1: going to be the screen and roller, for that's not him.
- 14:00Speaker 1: He does not set screens and roll to the back.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It's just not him. I realize that Giannis is a
- 14:07Speaker 1: better player than Karl Anthony Towns. Karl Anthony Towns game
- 14:12Speaker 1: compliments Brunson and the rest of the Knicks better than
- 14:15Speaker 1: Giannis does. And I think that we are just starting
- 14:18Speaker 1: to scratch the surface of what this offense can look like.
- 14:22Speaker 1: And that I'm saying that about an offense that is
- 14:26Speaker 1: third overall in offensive rating. So I feel like these
- 14:32Speaker 1: Knicks have a real chance to do something this year.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I feel like they are nowhere close to reaching their potential.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I feel like they have a coach who has the
- 14:43Speaker 1: ability to get them to their potential. Offensively, we're pretty good.
- 14:48Speaker 1: There's times where it gets a little bit stagnant. I
- 14:50Speaker 1: feel like we're just swinging the ball around the perimeter.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But offensively, listen, third and offensive rating, we're scoring a
- 14:56Speaker 1: ton of points. It's really this defense that this Knicks
- 14:59Speaker 1: team and what they're able to do in the long
- 15:01Speaker 1: run is going to come down to whether or not
- 15:03Speaker 1: they're able to buckle down on the defensive end. Now,
- 15:08Speaker 1: CP the Fanchise came out last night and said the
- 15:11Speaker 1: Knicks will not be pursuing Giannis. If you've been following him,
- 15:17Speaker 1: he's not often wrong. That dude clearly has some sources
- 15:22Speaker 1: close to the inside of the New York Knicks. He
- 15:25Speaker 1: was the person who kept saying over and over again
- 15:28Speaker 1: that the Knicks are interested and do want Karl Anthony
- 15:32Speaker 1: Towns if he becomes available, and they would be willing
- 15:34Speaker 1: to move Julius Rando. Guess what, I just don't feel
- 15:42Speaker 1: like he's a good fit, man. I think that is
- 15:44Speaker 1: the ultimate Knicks move if they have made so many
- 15:46Speaker 1: times where they get the aging star. Don't get me wrong,
- 15:49Speaker 1: You're honest. When healthy, this year has been fantastic, So
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm not trying to say he's falling off right the second.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But he just went down with another non contact calf injury.
- 15:59Speaker 1: We know that that is just around the corner of
- 16:03Speaker 1: an achilles very often. I'm not wishing that on him.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I don't want to see that, but hey, man, I
- 16:09Speaker 1: just don't see it. I don't think it's a good fit.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I do not think that he and Brunson are a
- 16:13Speaker 1: good fit. And I think that the Knicks as currently
- 16:16Speaker 1: constructed really really compliment each other. My biggest issue with
- 16:22Speaker 1: the Knicks is if we could ever turn you know,
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yaboo Sile into a rangy wing who can play the defense.
- 16:32Speaker 1: That would that would really help. But I don't really
- 16:34Speaker 1: see anybody wanting Yabo right now. Yaboo, I know, he
- 16:38Speaker 1: said he's he's actually weighs less than he did last year,
- 16:41Speaker 1: but he's looking real chubby and not very effective. He
- 16:47Speaker 1: had a little stint where I thought maybe he was
- 16:48Speaker 1: coming around, and then yesterday, you know, against the Charlotte Hornets,
- 16:54Speaker 1: Mike Brown has him on the bench for the entire
- 16:56Speaker 1: second half. I don't know about Yaboo man yo Alonzo ball.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Has there ever been a player with more talent who
- 17:06Speaker 1: is just so unserious about playing basketball? I mean, ever, Hey,
- 17:13Speaker 1: if you're watching on YouTube, if you're watching on x,
- 17:16Speaker 1: if you're watching on ig, whichever platform you're on, hit
- 17:21Speaker 1: the like, hit the follow, hit the subscribe, Make sure
- 17:27Speaker 1: you hop over to YouTube and hit the subscribe there.
- 17:30Speaker 1: It's the one that helps me the most, and it
- 17:32Speaker 1: is also the way to make sure if you hit
- 17:35Speaker 1: that subscribe and you hit the notifications, that you have
- 17:37Speaker 1: the ability to know when I'm going live and to
- 17:40Speaker 1: come check me out. I also do the weekly podcast
- 17:43Speaker 1: with Me with my Pops. It's me and him together
- 17:45Speaker 1: in the same room in Studio B. This is the
- 17:47Speaker 1: Studio A in Studio B, and it's just two father
- 17:52Speaker 1: and son talking Nicks, Jets, Mets, and sports in general.
- 17:55Speaker 1: We have a good time. We left. We have a
- 17:56Speaker 1: good time over there, so check us out. I don't
- 17:59Speaker 1: want you, honest man, I don't want him. I know
- 18:02Speaker 1: I am in the minority. I know most people say, hey,
- 18:04Speaker 1: you got a chance to get something like that, you
- 18:06Speaker 1: gotta do it. I have seen this before. We got
- 18:12Speaker 1: a good thing going. Stay the course, give Mike Brown
- 18:17Speaker 1: a full season of developing this team and see what
- 18:20Speaker 1: we can be when we get into April and May
- 18:23Speaker 1: and hopefully June. Y'all gotta stop hating on cat Man.
- 18:29Speaker 1: The cat hate. It's crazy, it really is. You know,
- 18:34Speaker 1: you know, I listen. I realize that Karl Anthony Towns
- 18:38Speaker 1: is not a perfect player, and he is an extremely
- 18:40Speaker 1: polarizing and frustrating player. He drives me nuts sometimes, no doubt.
- 18:44Speaker 1: His defensive awareness and instincts are dreadful. His shooting this
- 18:50Speaker 1: year has not been what we typically expect from Cat,
- 18:57Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, the guy won
- 18:59Speaker 1: multiple playoff games for US last year. The guy shot
- 19:02Speaker 1: fifty forty eighty five last year and is one of
- 19:07Speaker 1: the three or four best centers in the league, second
- 19:11Speaker 1: team All NBA, Consistent All Star, And I mean, it's
- 19:17Speaker 1: just like Kat is clearly the whipping boy for the
- 19:20Speaker 1: New York Nick fan base. And it's frustrating to me
- 19:24Speaker 1: because the guy is from Central Jersey. He actually grew
- 19:27Speaker 1: up about fifteen minutes away from where I did. And
- 19:32Speaker 1: in a game against the Celtics where, yes, where, there
- 19:36Speaker 1: are things about his game overall that frustrated me. Sure
- 19:39Speaker 1: he was twelve nineteen for what I'm pretty sure it
- 19:44Speaker 1: was twenty nine points. I might be off there if
- 19:48Speaker 1: I'm off throwd in the chat and everybody after the
- 19:53Speaker 1: game is acting like, oh my god, like you know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: we gotta get rid of Cat, we gotta move on
- 19:58Speaker 1: from him, will never win anything with him, go on
- 20:00Speaker 1: X And it feels like the guy, you know, it's like, damn,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I had to go recheck the stats. I'm like, yo,
- 20:04Speaker 1: was he was? He five of nineteen, but you know
- 20:07Speaker 1: who was six of twenty one in that game? Jayalen Brunson.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And he don't catch none of the heat and he
- 20:14Speaker 1: don't deserve none of the heat because everybody has a
- 20:17Speaker 1: bad game every once in a while, and JB, you
- 20:21Speaker 1: have done more than enough and built up more than
- 20:25Speaker 1: enough good grace with this fan base to not catch
- 20:27Speaker 1: heat every time you have a bad game. Okay, I
- 20:29Speaker 1: get that, I'm with that, But we got to ease
- 20:32Speaker 1: up on cat Man. Do I wish that he would
- 20:37Speaker 1: do a better job of guarding the pick and roll? Sure?
- 20:40Speaker 1: I do. Do I think that we need to tell
- 20:44Speaker 1: him no more drop coverage when you are in the
- 20:48Speaker 1: pick and roll situation. I just want Cat to just switch,
- 20:51Speaker 1: just switch him on to the guard. He's actually he's
- 20:55Speaker 1: actually pretty good at keeping guards in front of him
- 21:00Speaker 1: and doing a decent job. Do I want Kat to
- 21:04Speaker 1: stop making stupid offensive fouls where he hooks the guy
- 21:07Speaker 1: for no reason? Do I want him to not scream
- 21:12Speaker 1: that's a foul every single play, fall on the ground
- 21:15Speaker 1: and then give up a fast break the other way? Yes,
- 21:17Speaker 1: all of those things. He's not a perfect player. He's
- 21:21Speaker 1: a very frustrating player. He's an extremely skilled big man who,
- 21:26Speaker 1: in my opinion compliments, runs in perfectly. We've been running
- 21:30Speaker 1: the pick and roll for them between those two much
- 21:33Speaker 1: more often too much success. And I just think people
- 21:36Speaker 1: sometimes got a chile and just take a step back. Yo,
- 21:39Speaker 1: Let these dudes work. Let Mike Brown work to me.
- 21:44Speaker 1: When it comes to Kat, it's really up to Mike Brown.
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's up to Mike Brown to get through to him
- 21:50Speaker 1: on how to be a little bit better about some
- 21:51Speaker 1: of these defensive principles. And it's up to Mike Brown
- 21:54Speaker 1: to deploy him in the proper way, get him to
- 22:00Speaker 1: that elbow where he's comfortable, especially against some of these
- 22:04Speaker 1: like when they try to put like a small ford
- 22:06Speaker 1: or a big guard on him. Feed him in that spot.
- 22:10Speaker 1: That's up to Mike Brown, and that's up to Brunson.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Kat's gotta be better. He's gotta be better, no doubt.
- 22:16Speaker 1: He's got to be smarter. The shooting, I'm not worried
- 22:18Speaker 1: about it. It's gonna come around. Kat is not gonna
- 22:21Speaker 1: continue to shoot as badly as he has this year.
- 22:24Speaker 1: He is going to be fifty to forty eighty five
- 22:26Speaker 1: at the end of the season, because that's what he's
- 22:27Speaker 1: always been. Those shooting numbers have started to come up,
- 22:31Speaker 1: starting to go to the rim a little bit more
- 22:32Speaker 1: early and then step back and shoot the three. But
- 22:36Speaker 1: I'm not worried about the shooting. When I am worried
- 22:39Speaker 1: about more than anything else with him is defensively, can
- 22:42Speaker 1: he give us enough? I personally love the fact that
- 22:47Speaker 1: we have gone to having Mitchell Robinson come off the bench.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I think that Mitch coming off the bench and Kat
- 22:53Speaker 1: playing at the five to start the game is the
- 22:55Speaker 1: overall best game plan for the Knicks. I think that
- 23:04Speaker 1: Kat is never going to be a great defender, so
- 23:08Speaker 1: therefore you have to maximize his offense to cancel out
- 23:13Speaker 1: his shortcomings on defense and to his superpower on offenses
- 23:20Speaker 1: when he's at the five. When you put him at
- 23:22Speaker 1: the five and you make another team's center now have
- 23:26Speaker 1: to guard him two three feet behind a three point line,
- 23:31Speaker 1: it opens up everything for everybody. Now we play a
- 23:34Speaker 1: true five out style, and we finally have a coach
- 23:37Speaker 1: who's willing to embrace that. We've run more five out
- 23:41Speaker 1: lineups so far this season than we did all of
- 23:43Speaker 1: last season. The proof is in the pudding. You see
- 23:46Speaker 1: how efficient this offense is and what it can be.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I think it will continue to get better at these
- 23:52Speaker 1: as these guys get more comfortable with each other and
- 23:54Speaker 1: more comfortable in the system. Look at a guy like
- 23:56Speaker 1: Josh Hart. Josh Hart is clearly clearly benefiting from Mike
- 24:00Speaker 1: Brown's system and is being it's just getting more comfortable
- 24:05Speaker 1: as it's going on. You can see that that is
- 24:08Speaker 1: crystal clear. And I'm just, I'm just I just need
- 24:12Speaker 1: people need to pump the brakes. Man. The Nicks are
- 24:15Speaker 1: not in a situation at fourteen and seven. We don't
- 24:17Speaker 1: need to blow it up for Gianni's right now. We
- 24:19Speaker 1: don't just we don't need that right now. We don't.
- 24:22Speaker 1: That's old Nick shit, that's the shit we used to do. Leon.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Leon ain't about that life man. Leon is He's got
- 24:32Speaker 1: a plan, he's sticking to it. And I just think
- 24:35Speaker 1: that we need a healthy Ogi. We need a healthy
- 24:39Speaker 1: Landry Shammitt and then make a move for a rangey
- 24:44Speaker 1: wing around the deadline if we can. They're not growing
- 24:47Speaker 1: on trees and people aren't giving them up. But if
- 24:48Speaker 1: you can get a rangy wing who can play some
- 24:50Speaker 1: defense and knock down the three, that would be great,
- 24:53Speaker 1: or a secondary ball handler, because I'm still not one
- 24:57Speaker 1: hundred percent sure that we can rely on a guy
- 24:59Speaker 1: like Tyler cole In. You know, big playoff moments. Colex
- 25:03Speaker 1: played a little bit better recently, No doubt he's been
- 25:07Speaker 1: forced into action with the injuries to Og and to Shamit.
- 25:11Speaker 1: An interesting question is when Og comes back, what's the
- 25:14Speaker 1: starting lineup. I think we're gonna end up seeing Josh
- 25:20Speaker 1: Hart be in the starting two guard, though I wish
- 25:22Speaker 1: it was gonna be Douce McBride as the starting two. Now,
- 25:26Speaker 1: if Josh Hart is gonna keep shooting forty five percent
- 25:28Speaker 1: like he has the last few weeks, that changes Everything's
- 25:32Speaker 1: jump shot. He's more confident. He's taking seven threes in
- 25:34Speaker 1: the last two games. Last game he was four to seven,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and I don't listen. We've seen Josh get hot at
- 25:44Speaker 1: certain times. When Josh first came to Nick he was
- 25:46Speaker 1: shooting terrible in Portland from three when he first came
- 25:48Speaker 1: to the Knicks, red hot, then in the playoffs can't
- 25:50Speaker 1: shoot again. So you have to wonder if this is
- 25:55Speaker 1: just one of those hot streaks from Josh and then
- 25:57Speaker 1: we're gonna see him just be absolutely ice cold from
- 26:00Speaker 1: behind the arc. He started off the year pretty ice cold,
- 26:03Speaker 1: but recently he has shot the ball much better. He's
- 26:06Speaker 1: gotten his percentage up into the upper thirties. Peter Patton,
- 26:12Speaker 1: new shooting coach, might have something to do with it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Peter Patton's doing a good job. But honestly, man, I
- 26:21Speaker 1: just you know, say no. To be honest, man, it's
- 26:24Speaker 1: not the move. I know. When a player of that caliber,
- 26:28Speaker 1: you know, is reported to say that he wants to
- 26:31Speaker 1: play for the Knicks, people are going to get really
- 26:35Speaker 1: excited and say, you gotta go do it. I'm sorry, man,
- 26:38Speaker 1: I've seen this before. It's not the move. It's not
- 26:40Speaker 1: the move. Ooh, Dallas just made things interesting. Thirty to
- 26:46Speaker 1: twenty seven. Dallas has been on a heater, man, and
- 26:49Speaker 1: they've made themselves relevant again. They got a chance to
- 26:52Speaker 1: you know, they got a chance of the division now,
- 26:54Speaker 1: especially with the Eagles looking pretty mortal recently. And yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'm not watching that game right now because I'm here
- 27:01Speaker 1: with you guys. Let's stick to the NBA for a
- 27:04Speaker 1: little bit. Are the Thunder? Are the Thunder gonna go
- 27:07Speaker 1: for seventy four? They're twenty one in one. The Thunder
- 27:11Speaker 1: look unbeatable. They're twenty one and one and their best
- 27:13Speaker 1: player has only been back for a few I mean
- 27:15Speaker 1: the second best player. I'm sorry, second best player Jyalen
- 27:19Speaker 1: Williams has only been back for a couple of games.
- 27:20Speaker 1: He missed the first eighteen or so. Nineteen or so
- 27:24Speaker 1: of those games. SGA is in total total MVP four.
- 27:33Speaker 1: You want to talk about, man, I want to hear
- 27:35Speaker 1: nothing about Brunton and the foulbating. Ever again, the clips
- 27:38Speaker 1: of SGA recently where he's just going up running into
- 27:41Speaker 1: a guy and falling on the ground and doing like
- 27:42Speaker 1: this and getting the call, it's crazy. Lee. He's got
- 27:44Speaker 1: to do something about that. That should be something where
- 27:48Speaker 1: they can retroactively find you for that. It's the only
- 27:52Speaker 1: way to eliminate it from the game. And the flopping
- 27:55Speaker 1: is crazy. I mean sometimes he clearly is initiating the
- 27:57Speaker 1: contact and there's sometimes there's no contact and he's just
- 27:59Speaker 1: falling into the ground. I hate it. I hate it.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Like I said, I do want to hear nothing about
- 28:03Speaker 1: Brunson when it comes to the flopping. The rockets look legit,
- 28:08Speaker 1: very legit. Udoka is in my opinion, one of the
- 28:14Speaker 1: two or three best I mean him, Spoe Kerr best
- 28:18Speaker 1: coaches in the league. Seng Gooon heard it here first.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I was one of the first I saw the within
- 28:25Speaker 1: the first half of his first Summer League game. I
- 28:28Speaker 1: was like that, dude, he's a player, and now he's
- 28:30Speaker 1: looking like baby joker. You know, I think out West,
- 28:37Speaker 1: you have the Thunder, obviously you have the Rockets, you
- 28:41Speaker 1: have the Lakers, Austin Reeves. I mean, dude, is a
- 28:47Speaker 1: legit player. Is he the best shooting guard in the league?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Is he? We already know what Luke is. He's averaging
- 28:54Speaker 1: a triple double, He's averaging over thirty points. I mean
- 28:56Speaker 1: he I don't know if he's quite averaging in triple double,
- 28:58Speaker 1: but he's damn close, and he's playing his ass off.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Skinny Luca is a problem. And Bron Bon. Anybody who
- 29:06Speaker 1: thought that Lebron was gonna have a hard time coming
- 29:08Speaker 1: back and fitting in, I don't want to hear anything
- 29:10Speaker 1: else you have to say about sports or basketball. God's
- 29:15Speaker 1: got one of the highest IQs of any player we've
- 29:18Speaker 1: ever seen. And y'all are like, I don't know if
- 29:20Speaker 1: he's gonna be able to fit in. Fuck you talking
- 29:22Speaker 1: about Bron gonna be able to fit in. He gonna
- 29:26Speaker 1: be able to figure it out. And you know what,
- 29:28Speaker 1: at his age, Bron is a couple months older than me.
- 29:32Speaker 1: At forty one years old. I'm sure he loves the
- 29:35Speaker 1: fact that he don't gotta go out and do all
- 29:37Speaker 1: the heavy lifting and he can fit in and do
- 29:39Speaker 1: his thing and enjoy this time with his son and
- 29:42Speaker 1: go chase another ring. Anybody who doubted whether or not
- 29:45Speaker 1: Bron was going to be able to come back and
- 29:47Speaker 1: fit in with Luca and Austin Reeves doing their thing,
- 29:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you're a fucking idiot. Of course, Lebron
- 29:58Speaker 1: is gonna be able to fit in. Shout out to everybody.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Check checking us out on the three different platforms right now.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Like I said, give us that light, give us that subscribe,
- 30:06Speaker 1: go over to YouTube. Hit that subscribe. That's the one
- 30:08Speaker 1: that helps me the most, and that's the one that
- 30:10Speaker 1: keeps you in the no thunder hey man, twenty one
- 30:15Speaker 1: on one, Ain't no, ain't no joke. These cats might
- 30:17Speaker 1: really go for seventy four. They are so deep and
- 30:20Speaker 1: they got fucking four picks in the first round this year,
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Clippers. It's the worst. It's the worst deal of
- 30:28Speaker 1: all time, the Paul George deal. They give up SGA
- 30:32Speaker 1: and a RockA picks and oh, Lebron's streak is over.
- 30:40Speaker 1: He had eight points tonight. Lebron's streak of eight of
- 30:44Speaker 1: a double digit scoring is over. You only had eight tonight.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I don't think Lebron gives a fuck, Honestly, I really
- 30:50Speaker 1: don't not. At this point of career of his career,
- 30:54Speaker 1: all he wants to do is get a ring. And
- 30:57Speaker 1: you know that Lakers team is the problem out west.
- 30:59Speaker 1: You got the Lakers, you got obviously, okay, see, you
- 31:06Speaker 1: got Denver and you got Houston out east. I obviously
- 31:13Speaker 1: think that the Knicks have a chance, but I might
- 31:15Speaker 1: just be a little bit biased. Cleveland, they've been sputtering
- 31:21Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't know about Cleveland. I don't
- 31:24Speaker 1: know if Cleveland is really gonna be, you know, a
- 31:27Speaker 1: real contender like that. Mobley looks like he's leveled up,
- 31:31Speaker 1: and you know, obviously Spider he can do his thing.
- 31:34Speaker 1: But I'm not sure that they have the the the
- 31:40Speaker 1: ancilliary pieces to be able to do anything this year.
- 31:43Speaker 1: I don't know. They just haven't looked that great now. Obviously,
- 31:45Speaker 1: obviously not like they did last year. Last year they
- 31:47Speaker 1: came out like gangbusters and you know, rolled that all
- 31:49Speaker 1: away to the one seed. But yeah, not only is
- 31:54Speaker 1: this year's Clippers pick go to Okay, See, like I said,
- 31:56Speaker 1: they got they got like four picks in this year's
- 31:58Speaker 1: first round. You don't the team if they really want
- 32:04Speaker 1: to go after Giannis is okay. See, they got the picks,
- 32:08Speaker 1: they got the assets, they got guys that they can
- 32:11Speaker 1: give up and still not just totally gut their roster.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And if you add a Yiannis type player to that roster. Now,
- 32:19Speaker 1: if I'm them, I don't mess with it. Things are
- 32:22Speaker 1: going too well. They look like a dynasty in the making.
- 32:26Speaker 1: But that's another thing about the Knicks and going for
- 32:29Speaker 1: you honest we get Listen, there's gonna have to be
- 32:31Speaker 1: some third team involved because the Knicks have no picks
- 32:36Speaker 1: to give up. And if I am the Bucks, do
- 32:42Speaker 1: I just say, all right, Giannis, you've been great to us.
- 32:45Speaker 1: You brought us a championship, you brought us relevancy for
- 32:48Speaker 1: a decade. So we're gonna just give you to the
- 32:51Speaker 1: team that you want now if you're Honie, if you
- 32:53Speaker 1: really want out that much. If I'm the Bucks, I
- 32:55Speaker 1: gotta build from my future. I need all the picks.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I need a player or two that I feel like
- 33:00Speaker 1: I can build around, and I need all the picks.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I would want a young, good player, and I would
- 33:06Speaker 1: want a bunch of picks and the team in position
- 33:08Speaker 1: to be able to make that kind of move for Giannis. Okay, see, man,
- 33:16Speaker 1: there's a few different teams. Atlanta is another team that
- 33:20Speaker 1: makes sense. Houston, I could see going all in for
- 33:26Speaker 1: a guy like Giannis Knicks. Not only does it not
- 33:30Speaker 1: make sense as for Milwaukee as far as what we
- 33:34Speaker 1: have to offer, but it doesn't make sense for the
- 33:37Speaker 1: Knicks either. In the East, you got the Knicks. You
- 33:44Speaker 1: never know if Jason Tatum is gonna come back, and
- 33:47Speaker 1: if he does, I think that automatically makes the Celtics,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you know, jump into the mix. Right now. The Pistons
- 33:55Speaker 1: are the one seed. I'm sorry, the Pistons of frauds.
- 33:57Speaker 1: They're not that good. Sorry, all right, they're not that good.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Detroit just went up thirty seven to twenty seven. That's
- 34:04Speaker 1: a ten point game now with seven minutes left in
- 34:06Speaker 1: the fourth. Lions looking to you know, kind of turn
- 34:12Speaker 1: their season around after a couple losses here recently. They
- 34:16Speaker 1: came out just looking dominant, looking like they were ready
- 34:19Speaker 1: to you know, get back to the championship, the conference championship.
- 34:24Speaker 1: If not the Super Bowl, but now they started to
- 34:27Speaker 1: fall off here recently, but right now they got a
- 34:29Speaker 1: ten point lead on Dallas. Dallas got my guy, Quinnin Williams.
- 34:33Speaker 1: The Jets made that trade, sent Quentin Williams out there,
- 34:36Speaker 1: and he's been out their ball and shout to Quinn
- 34:38Speaker 1: and I love Quinn Man. I was sad to see
- 34:40Speaker 1: him go. Speaking of those Jets, are they ruining ruining
- 34:46Speaker 1: their ability to get their franchise quarterback in this upcoming draft.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Jets get a win last week they beat the Falcons.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Nick Folk goes ahead and just hits a squibver that
- 35:02Speaker 1: just gets in the lower left corner inside the uprights,
- 35:06Speaker 1: above the crossbar, and the Jets get the walk off win.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn I gotta say, he looks like he's got
- 35:13Speaker 1: these guys playing hard for a three win team. They
- 35:17Speaker 1: look like they're out there, they're giving it to their all.
- 35:19Speaker 1: They're playing hard. And I hated the trades at the time.
- 35:24Speaker 1: When the Jets got rid of Sauce, they got rid
- 35:27Speaker 1: of Quinnin, they get back picks. They're clearly looking to
- 35:30Speaker 1: build for the future. My thought process is, if you
- 35:33Speaker 1: have a young, big time corner and a young big
- 35:41Speaker 1: time defensive tackle. You're going and getting picks, hoping, just
- 35:45Speaker 1: hoping that they can turn into what these players already are.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's not like they're at the end of a contract
- 35:53Speaker 1: where you're looking at, oh, do we have to pay him?
- 35:54Speaker 1: They were both paid. They're both locked up. But Darren Mujie,
- 36:00Speaker 1: hey man, when you take a step back and you
- 36:03Speaker 1: look at those picks right now, first of all, that
- 36:09Speaker 1: trade with the Colts. Colts have lost three or four.
- 36:13Speaker 1: They're now eight and four. At one point they had
- 36:16Speaker 1: the best record in the entire NFL. Your boy Daniel
- 36:19Speaker 1: Jones is gimpy, and Sauce just went down with the
- 36:23Speaker 1: calf injury. One of those look back to see who
- 36:26Speaker 1: kicked him in the leg? That one was scary. It
- 36:28Speaker 1: looked like like an achilles as well. I wish nothing
- 36:32Speaker 1: bad on Sauce. I love Sauce. It's my guy. Was
- 36:35Speaker 1: he a little bit overrated, some people might say, including
- 36:38Speaker 1: my pops here recently these last couple of years. I
- 36:41Speaker 1: don't think he was overrated. I think he's one of
- 36:44Speaker 1: those guys who he doesn't come with the stats because
- 36:46Speaker 1: people just don't throw his way. He's not a good tackler,
- 36:50Speaker 1: but I think he's a great cover corner and I
- 36:52Speaker 1: wish him nothing but the best moving forward in his career.
- 36:57Speaker 1: But especially now that the Colts are falling off, those
- 37:01Speaker 1: trades aren't looking so bad, and especially when you see
- 37:05Speaker 1: a z Thomas and Stevens both playing well. Stevens has
- 37:08Speaker 1: been grading out extremely well according to PFF. So was
- 37:15Speaker 1: it the right move to get rid of them and
- 37:20Speaker 1: bring in picks and build for the future. At this point,
- 37:25Speaker 1: it's kind of hard to say no. It's kind of
- 37:29Speaker 1: hard to say that wasn't the right move. So I'm
- 37:31Speaker 1: gonna take a step back, and you know, let Glenn,
- 37:34Speaker 1: let move you cook My guy, Keith down in the
- 37:39Speaker 1: atl I finally won my household civil war. We lost.
- 37:42Speaker 1: We lost. We've lost the last three games against the Falcons.
- 37:45Speaker 1: My wife is a die hard Falcons fan. Keith is
- 37:49Speaker 1: a Knicks, Mets, and Jets fan who now lives in Atlanta,
- 37:52Speaker 1: And I can't imagine having my significant other be a
- 37:56Speaker 1: fan of another team and having to sit there and
- 37:58Speaker 1: have that back and forth. When I first met my wife,
- 38:02Speaker 1: she was like, well, I'm a Yankee, Sam, because you know,
- 38:05Speaker 1: my dad and my brother like the Yankees, and I
- 38:07Speaker 1: was like, yo, is it like serious? Does it matter
- 38:11Speaker 1: to you? Like it's like like you you're serious, and
- 38:13Speaker 1: you're like, yo, I'm really a Yankee fan, Like can
- 38:15Speaker 1: you give me three players in their lineup? And she's like, nah,
- 38:17Speaker 1: I don't care like that. I was like, listen, listen, baby,
- 38:20Speaker 1: we gonna do this thing. And we go and do
- 38:21Speaker 1: it for the long run. We're going on eighteen years together.
- 38:25Speaker 1: And I was like, yo, I'm gonna need you to
- 38:28Speaker 1: just go ahead and convert now and be a Mets fan.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Let's just let's just make this, make this easier and
- 38:34Speaker 1: and you know, more harmonious for our household. So I
- 38:40Speaker 1: converted her and she is now a Mets fan, and
- 38:43Speaker 1: it's for the better. If you watch the pod with
- 38:47Speaker 1: me and my dad, he did this to me. He
- 38:50Speaker 1: you know, I got all of these fandoms. I inherited
- 38:52Speaker 1: them all. I have now passed them down to the
- 38:56Speaker 1: next generation. All three. Well, my two oldest kids. My youngest,
- 39:00Speaker 1: the girl, she's six years old, she's basketball again. Nick's
- 39:03Speaker 1: again Mets again. But my older two they're they're you know,
- 39:08Speaker 1: legit Nixon Mets fans and Jets fans and so I'm
- 39:13Speaker 1: happy for you, Keith that you were able to win
- 39:15Speaker 1: that battle for once and you were able to, you know,
- 39:18Speaker 1: beat the big man in the house when the Jets
- 39:21Speaker 1: got that dub. Yeah, man, you know, like I said,
- 39:27Speaker 1: Quincy is stepping up out there in Dallas. Good for him,
- 39:32Speaker 1: Tyrod Taylor. I mean, he's just light years better and
- 39:36Speaker 1: a more competent quarterback than Justin Fields. My biggest worry
- 39:41Speaker 1: about this current Jets regime is the fact that they
- 39:45Speaker 1: going into this season thought that Justin Fields was going
- 39:49Speaker 1: to be a better option than Aaron Rodgers. That makes
- 39:55Speaker 1: me nervous about their quarterback evaluation because Justin Fields, he's
- 40:00Speaker 1: a rugby player. Justin Fields might want to look into
- 40:07Speaker 1: going the the like, you know, I'm a slash running back,
- 40:15Speaker 1: slash quarterback slash tight end role because quarterback, he's not
- 40:27Speaker 1: an NFL quarterback. He's not. He can't process, he can't
- 40:32Speaker 1: make the throws. One of the things about Justin Fields
- 40:38Speaker 1: that jumps off the screen and really really got to
- 40:41Speaker 1: make you take a step back and be like, yo,
- 40:45Speaker 1: he's not good at running the read option. The amount
- 40:48Speaker 1: of times that I saw him make the wrong read
- 40:51Speaker 1: on the read option this year. It's crazy. If there's
- 40:57Speaker 1: one thing the guy should be good at, it's the
- 40:59Speaker 1: read option. You can tell the game's just moving too
- 41:02Speaker 1: fast for him. It is. He needs his best bet
- 41:09Speaker 1: is to go Taysom Hill. He needs to try his
- 41:12Speaker 1: best to be the Taysom Hill for some team. Find
- 41:16Speaker 1: a coach who likes some of this new gadget shit
- 41:19Speaker 1: or some of this you know this wildcat shit, and
- 41:23Speaker 1: hope that you can latch on and stick with a
- 41:25Speaker 1: team like that. Because as far as quarterback is concerned,
- 41:29Speaker 1: I if I'm a team, seeing what he's done in
- 41:33Speaker 1: his career, seeing what he did this year with the Jets,
- 41:36Speaker 1: I can't even have you as my backup dog. He's
- 41:41Speaker 1: not a competent backup in this league. He's not. He
- 41:45Speaker 1: needs to go Taysom Hill, that's the move. But Aaron Glenn,
- 41:50Speaker 1: he's got these guys playing. Man, he's got these guys playing.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Mitchell can catch the ball. Who knew big game for him?
- 41:58Speaker 1: One hundred yards caught the big and Metchie he actually
- 42:05Speaker 1: had the drops. Mechi's been catching the ball. Mitchell hasn't
- 42:09Speaker 1: been catching the ball against the Falcons, Mitchell, all of
- 42:12Speaker 1: a sudden, is catching the ball and Metchi's got a
- 42:14Speaker 1: couple of big drops. But I like MITCHI, man, I
- 42:17Speaker 1: like MITCHI is a good like slot guy, especially when
- 42:20Speaker 1: we get Garrett backt You got Garrett on the outside,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you got Mitchell on the outside, you got Mitchie in
- 42:23Speaker 1: the slot. I like that. Mason Taylor is a player.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Mason Taylor is a player, man. I think he can
- 42:32Speaker 1: end up becoming a decent playmaker on the offensive end
- 42:35Speaker 1: for this Jets team in the future. And he usually
- 42:38Speaker 1: takes receivers tight ends, usually takes them a couple of years.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Only a few of the greats come out and are
- 42:48Speaker 1: just out the gate, just absolute game changers and playmakers.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I think Mason Taylor's got a real chance to be
- 42:54Speaker 1: able to make an impact for this team for years
- 42:58Speaker 1: to come. I don't know about these Gotham uniforms though,
- 43:05Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm not a big fan from what
- 43:09Speaker 1: I've seen. Now. When you see when you see like
- 43:13Speaker 1: the the guys you know, and they're clearly in some
- 43:17Speaker 1: sort of studio and they take the pictures of them
- 43:20Speaker 1: and bump up, uh, I need to excuse me, excuse me.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I could feel that coming on. I was trying my
- 43:27Speaker 1: best to just just push it to the side. But
- 43:31Speaker 1: like I said, I haven't been feeling great this week.
- 43:32Speaker 1: My bad, y'all. That did not sound good. I'm sure
- 43:36Speaker 1: because it definitely didn't feel good. But yeah, man, these uniforms,
- 43:39Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I don't know how I feel
- 43:41Speaker 1: about these uniforms. And I kind of just wish the
- 43:44Speaker 1: Jets would just stick to You got the greens, you
- 43:47Speaker 1: got the whites, occasionally you wear the blacks, and now
- 43:49Speaker 1: we got this new alternate uniform, alternate uniform. All these
- 43:52Speaker 1: sports teams in general just wear too many fucking uniforms.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Have your home, have your way, have one other alternate.
- 43:59Speaker 1: That's enough. Though. I will say I do like the
- 44:02Speaker 1: Knicks black uniforms this year, and I do like the
- 44:05Speaker 1: Kith the uniforms that they wear for the NBA Cup
- 44:09Speaker 1: games with the old school logo on the court that
- 44:13Speaker 1: that actually works out well. But there has been a
- 44:15Speaker 1: few years recently where you know, some of these different
- 44:19Speaker 1: alternate Nick uniforms I'm not a fan of. But give
- 44:23Speaker 1: me the blues, give me the whites, and NBA teams,
- 44:25Speaker 1: can y'all please start wearing white uniforms at home? And
- 44:28Speaker 1: colored uniforms on the road. I'm so tired of seeing
- 44:32Speaker 1: dudes where where you turn on the game and you
- 44:37Speaker 1: can't immediately tell who's home and away. I know I
- 44:40Speaker 1: sound real old right now, but man, I'm over that shit. Yo.
- 44:44Speaker 1: We got well over one hundred people checking us out
- 44:46Speaker 1: live right now. Appreciate all the love again. Please hit
- 44:49Speaker 1: that subscribe, hit that like, hit that follow, head over
- 44:54Speaker 1: to YouTube and hit that subscribe. Appreciate all of y'all
- 44:57Speaker 1: for sure. Cowboys, Man, they really had a chance to
- 45:03Speaker 1: make a run. They were looking like they were doing
- 45:06Speaker 1: something right now they're down. They're down. They're down ten
- 45:09Speaker 1: with the ball just under four minutes ago. So I
- 45:12Speaker 1: don't I don't know. I don't know. They kind of
- 45:15Speaker 1: feel like they gotta win out, but man, it's the NFL.
- 45:17Speaker 1: You never know, man, you never know. What could happen
- 45:21Speaker 1: is the Chiefs dynasty over. They lose to the Texans,
- 45:29Speaker 1: and you know, all of a sudden, they look real mortal.
- 45:33Speaker 1: A lot of people said it was smoking mirrors last
- 45:35Speaker 1: year that they won a lot of close games. I'm like, yo,
- 45:38Speaker 1: they won a lot of close games, but they made
- 45:40Speaker 1: it to the fucking Super Bowl. I mean, let's let's
- 45:42Speaker 1: not let's not right their obituary yet, but this year
- 45:47Speaker 1: Chiefs are looking like it might be over. And you know,
- 45:53Speaker 1: I feel like the Patriots changed our perspective where we
- 45:58Speaker 1: felt like, hey man, the Chiefs could be one of
- 46:00Speaker 1: these teams that they could be, you know, a dynasty
- 46:03Speaker 1: for the next decade, and you know, Patrick Mahomes could
- 46:06Speaker 1: challenge some of Brady's records. And all of a sudden,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you're seeing, like, yo, man, that shit ain't easy, and
- 46:12Speaker 1: it's not looking like anybody is gonna be able to
- 46:17Speaker 1: sustain like the Patriots did. And how fucking annoying is
- 46:21Speaker 1: it that the Patriots have a great coach and a
- 46:24Speaker 1: great quarterback again? Drake may is like the MVP of
- 46:29Speaker 1: the fucking NFL and Rabel looks like he is pulling
- 46:33Speaker 1: all the right strings. And all of a sudden, now,
- 46:37Speaker 1: you know, as a Jets fan, I'm looking at it
- 46:39Speaker 1: and it's like, oh cool, let's we got another decade
- 46:42Speaker 1: of dealing with the fucking Patriots being great so annoying.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Excuse me, sorry for the sniffles and the coffs. Man,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I'm fighting through. I'm fighting through. Steelers falling off a
- 46:55Speaker 1: Cliff your boy and Rogers, and if you know me,
- 46:59Speaker 1: you know I'm an Aaron Dight like Aaron Rodgers, have
- 47:01Speaker 1: always been a fan of him. I thought the Jets
- 47:03Speaker 1: should have kept him this year. I thought that with
- 47:06Speaker 1: a better offensive line and the continuity that the Jets
- 47:09Speaker 1: offensive line has had, that Aaron Rodgers would have been
- 47:11Speaker 1: successful this year with the Jets and definitely would have
- 47:14Speaker 1: given this team an overall better chance at being successful.
- 47:17Speaker 1: But now the Steelers are falling off the cliff. They
- 47:23Speaker 1: started off four and one. They now are struggling to
- 47:31Speaker 1: move the ball or stop the ball. And you got
- 47:37Speaker 1: the six and six Steelers and the six and six
- 47:41Speaker 1: Ravens playing this week for the AFC North lead. Many
- 47:49Speaker 1: people thought this is gonna be one of the most
- 47:51Speaker 1: highly contested divisions in all of football. And the Ravens
- 47:59Speaker 1: are having a year. Lamar has been hurt, He's missed
- 48:02Speaker 1: some time. The Steelers, like I said, started off four
- 48:05Speaker 1: and one, and now they're sitting at six and six.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers is looking bloodied, his noses all bloody, his hand,
- 48:11Speaker 1: his left wrist is all fucked up. And in the
- 48:13Speaker 1: cast Joe Burrow gets hurt. He's come back, but the
- 48:18Speaker 1: Bengals are down at four and eight. The Browns have
- 48:21Speaker 1: just spent their entire year trying to sabotage shador As
- 48:27Speaker 1: opposed to actually go out there and win games. And
- 48:31Speaker 1: the AFC North is down this year. It's just supposed
- 48:36Speaker 1: to show you, man, in the NFL, you never know
- 48:38Speaker 1: what the fuck is gonna happen from year to year.
- 48:39Speaker 1: You really don't. And the Jets, I'm not gonna be
- 48:44Speaker 1: one of those people that roots for my team to lose.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I know that we are getting further and further away
- 48:49Speaker 1: from that number one pick, but we do have a
- 48:51Speaker 1: lot of picks to be able to offer somebody if
- 48:54Speaker 1: we want to be able to get up into that
- 48:56Speaker 1: first pick. And it looks like right now Tennessee is
- 49:02Speaker 1: gonna have the number one pick, and they clearly already
- 49:04Speaker 1: have their quarterback. Cam Ortism is a beast. I think
- 49:08Speaker 1: he's got all the potential to be fantastic. If I'm
- 49:12Speaker 1: the Jets and I get a chance, I want that
- 49:15Speaker 1: kid Mendoza. I'm not a huge college football guy. I
- 49:20Speaker 1: used to be much much more into it back in
- 49:22Speaker 1: the day, but I'm not a huge college football guy.
- 49:25Speaker 1: But that kid Mendoza. I like him because he's six
- 49:28Speaker 1: four sixty five two hundred and twenty pounds. I do
- 49:30Speaker 1: not want a quarterback who is shorter than sixty three.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I don't want those six two six one. I want
- 49:36Speaker 1: a big, strong dude who's a pocket passer, who can
- 49:41Speaker 1: maybe run if he needs to. But I want Ille
- 49:44Speaker 1: Drake May. You can get that kid, Mendoza. I'm with it.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Go get him NFL. And there's nothing really else too
- 49:55Speaker 1: exciting in the NFL for me right now. Yo, the Texans,
- 49:58Speaker 1: Texans on to come up. You know a lot of
- 50:02Speaker 1: people wrote them off. C J. Stroud is back. That
- 50:07Speaker 1: defense is unreal and the Texans are coming. Yo, shout
- 50:15Speaker 1: to Devin Williams. Mets go out and they signed Devin Williams.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Devin Williams one of the more dominant back of the
- 50:22Speaker 1: back of the end of the rotation, I should say,
- 50:26Speaker 1: end of the bullpen pitchers over the last few years. Obviously,
- 50:30Speaker 1: Stearns has ties to him as he came up in
- 50:33Speaker 1: the Brewers organization. Mets give him three years, fifty one million,
- 50:36Speaker 1: and of course Yankee fans immediately with all the Mets,
- 50:41Speaker 1: they you know, they love taking our cast off. The
- 50:45Speaker 1: Mets love getting players that used to be on the Yankees.
- 50:47Speaker 1: First of all, Yankee fans pause because there is plenty
- 50:52Speaker 1: of former Mets that the Yankees have signed, going way
- 50:57Speaker 1: back to Strawberry and Call, and plenty of guys here recently.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna go through and name them. But
- 51:06Speaker 1: Devin Williams went on the Instagram and he posted for
- 51:10Speaker 1: a bunch of people that didn't want me back on
- 51:12Speaker 1: your team, y'all sure, mad in the DMS. I love
- 51:16Speaker 1: that for him, nice little clap back right there. And
- 51:22Speaker 1: I don't love Devin Williams is my closer if we
- 51:26Speaker 1: can sign Daz and Devin Williams is my eighth inning guy.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I love all of that you give me Rayley Williams, Sugar,
- 51:38Speaker 1: that's a shut down bullpen right there. I love, love,
- 51:41Speaker 1: love that. I am on the record and I say
- 51:45Speaker 1: it on every podcast that I ever talk about the Mets.
- 51:49Speaker 1: We must resign Pete. We must resign Sugar, get it done.
- 51:54Speaker 1: It seems like Pete is waiting for some team to
- 51:57Speaker 1: come in and just make some huge offer, and it
- 51:59Speaker 1: does not seem like a gonna happen. The market's not there,
- 52:02Speaker 1: just realize that you need to sign for like three
- 52:05Speaker 1: years one to twenty with the Mets. Stearns Uncle Stevie, Pete,
- 52:12Speaker 1: get it done. I got an iguana earlier this year
- 52:17Speaker 1: and we named it Alonso. Come on, Pete, what are
- 52:20Speaker 1: you gonna make me change the fucking the lizard's name?
- 52:23Speaker 1: Come on back, Mets. Where else are you gonna get
- 52:27Speaker 1: forty home runs and one hundred and twenty ribbies from?
- 52:29Speaker 1: Where are you replacing that? The guy's a lifelong Met,
- 52:32Speaker 1: he's a great Met. Bring him back. But you want
- 52:35Speaker 1: to talk about lifelong Mets. Brendan Nemo, he's out of here.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Nemo traded for Marcus Simeon. Honestly, man that that kind
- 52:45Speaker 1: of that caught me my surprise. But the more I
- 52:49Speaker 1: think about it, I get it and it makes sense.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I don't love Simeon Simeon, So I have a Dynasty
- 52:55Speaker 1: Fantasy League that I've had Simeon in for years, so
- 52:58Speaker 1: I'm very familiar year with his overall arc over his
- 53:04Speaker 1: career these last few years, and he was the man
- 53:09Speaker 1: and last year had a very down year. And he's
- 53:12Speaker 1: up there in age, in his mid thirties, so you
- 53:16Speaker 1: bring him in, he's a premier second baseman, very good defensively,
- 53:21Speaker 1: and you're just hoping that he's able to find some
- 53:24Speaker 1: of that magic with the bat that he's had previously
- 53:26Speaker 1: and last year was anomaly. I get taking that shot
- 53:32Speaker 1: because as good as Nimo has been, as far as
- 53:35Speaker 1: just for the overall Mets culture and everything and just
- 53:39Speaker 1: being a lifelong Met and being a guy who plays
- 53:41Speaker 1: the game the right way, he can't throw, and offensively,
- 53:47Speaker 1: he's like pretty good at a few things, but not
- 53:50Speaker 1: really good at anything. And so I totally get why
- 53:54Speaker 1: you look at it and you say, you know what,
- 53:56Speaker 1: as far as a corner outfielder, we need a more
- 53:59Speaker 1: impact back and we need a more impact feeler. Now,
- 54:04Speaker 1: is he very good at going back on the ball
- 54:06Speaker 1: and jumping up and taking it over the wall those
- 54:07Speaker 1: types of things. Yes, God can't throw. So I'm gonna
- 54:11Speaker 1: trust Thurns on this one. The jury is obviously still
- 54:14Speaker 1: out Texas. Should Texas become my American League team with
- 54:19Speaker 1: the Gram and Nemo on there too. I mean, I'm
- 54:22Speaker 1: not gonna call Nimo one of my favorite Mets of
- 54:25Speaker 1: all time, but I really did like Nemo and he
- 54:27Speaker 1: really embodied, you know, the new York Mets. But the
- 54:29Speaker 1: gram is one of the groom is my favorite picture
- 54:32Speaker 1: of all time him or maybe Pedro Martinez. So you know,
- 54:36Speaker 1: I'll be I'm I say, I'm gonna root for them,
- 54:39Speaker 1: but I'd be happy to see them have you know,
- 54:41Speaker 1: some uh some success and they can they can meet
- 54:43Speaker 1: the Mets in the World Series. How about that? All right,
- 54:47Speaker 1: let's get away from sports a little bit. That's one
- 54:49Speaker 1: of the new things that we're doing with the new
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know Independent Nick, the new show that we're doing
- 54:57Speaker 1: every Thursday night is we're not just talking sports. That's
- 55:02Speaker 1: one of the things and one of the reasons that
- 55:04Speaker 1: we did a slight little rebrand is because you know, hey, man,
- 55:07Speaker 1: I got opinions on a lot of things, and you know,
- 55:09Speaker 1: I want to talk to you. I want to talk
- 55:10Speaker 1: to the people. Definitely, definitely comment if you come, if
- 55:14Speaker 1: you come into comments during the show when we're live,
- 55:18Speaker 1: I will do my best to reply. If you are
- 55:22Speaker 1: watching on replay and you comment, I promise you that
- 55:25Speaker 1: I will reply. I do not promise that I will
- 55:27Speaker 1: be nice. Did anybody did any of y'all see this?
- 55:31Speaker 1: Uh Drew ski hatfish skit. It's fucking hilarious. It's fucking
- 55:38Speaker 1: hilarious drew Ski. The thing that he does that's so
- 55:42Speaker 1: funny with his skits is instead of being like, oh,
- 55:46Speaker 1: I got this like cool little concept where you know,
- 55:50Speaker 1: you know, we do this, he has this thing where
- 55:53Speaker 1: he takes the person in your life, the character that
- 55:56Speaker 1: you've seen before, and he accentuates it and makes it funny,
- 56:01Speaker 1: and he does it in such a relatable way where
- 56:04Speaker 1: you're like, damn, y'all, I know that dude, I know
- 56:06Speaker 1: somebody just like that, whether it be the hood white dude,
- 56:12Speaker 1: whether it be the work husband teaser. We're gonna get
- 56:16Speaker 1: to that a little bit in a little bit when
- 56:18Speaker 1: we get to you know, ask Nick. Drewski is so
- 56:22Speaker 1: good at that. It is very similar to the show Seinfeld.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Seinfeld was so good at taking that like character, that
- 56:31Speaker 1: person that we all know and giving you this exaggerated
- 56:34Speaker 1: version of it, and it was fucking hilarious. Drewski his skits,
- 56:38Speaker 1: he does that better than anybody whoever. His makeup artist
- 56:41Speaker 1: is fantastic, top notch. He clearly puts the money into it.
- 56:46Speaker 1: He's been extremely successful everything he does. I mean, he's hilarious.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I think he's hilarious. And my sixty something year old
- 56:54Speaker 1: dad thinks he's hilarious. That means that he is, you know,
- 56:57Speaker 1: hitting all the different age brackets. Shout the drewski man,
- 57:00Speaker 1: he's doing his thing. That that that new hatfish skit
- 57:02Speaker 1: is hilarious. And by the way, I have had people
- 57:06Speaker 1: previously watch the pod and accuse me of hat fishing
- 57:10Speaker 1: because I typically I like to wear a hat when
- 57:12Speaker 1: I would have my hair down or I have my
- 57:13Speaker 1: hair up. In a pod, I'm always it's always it
- 57:16Speaker 1: just weirds me out of it. I'm always looking at
- 57:18Speaker 1: it too much. But I do wear my hair down plenty.
- 57:19Speaker 1: And just so you know, we're not we're not hat
- 57:22Speaker 1: fishing over here. I got a full head of hair,
- 57:24Speaker 1: just so you'll know, all right, there's no hat fishing
- 57:29Speaker 1: over here with you boy, And I see all right. Now,
- 57:33Speaker 1: let's get right, Let's see if I can get this
- 57:34Speaker 1: hat back on and that fuck with it and the
- 57:38Speaker 1: entire rest we're finishing up. We in the home stretch.
- 57:41Speaker 1: We in the home stretch. Appreciate y'all. Oh y'all rocking
- 57:44Speaker 1: with me as always, were coming up on an hour
- 57:47Speaker 1: and yeah, man, hit that light, hit that subscribe. I'm
- 57:50Speaker 1: still battling with his chair. His fucking chair doesn't stay up,
- 57:53Speaker 1: and I spent too much money on it to get
- 57:55Speaker 1: a new chair. I gotta ride it out for a
- 57:56Speaker 1: little bit longer before I get a new chair. I'll
- 57:58Speaker 1: feel like an idiot, but there's there's nothing I can
- 58:00Speaker 1: do to make it stay up to us very top.
- 58:02Speaker 1: It's very, very frustrating. Yo. Did y'all see this Trump
- 58:08Speaker 1: Mom Donnie LoveFest? It was one of the most fascinating things.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I I'm not somebody who's super interested in politics. I
- 58:15Speaker 1: pay enough attention as you know, a citizen who cares
- 58:19Speaker 1: about the future of our country. You know my name
- 58:21Speaker 1: is independent Nick for a reason, because I truly am independent.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Do I typically lean left when it comes to my
- 58:26Speaker 1: voting shore I do keep it real, but I duly
- 58:29Speaker 1: I truly do consider myself an independent, and I'm often
- 58:33Speaker 1: somebody who sees things from all sides. I will tell
- 58:36Speaker 1: you that the Trump I'm Donnie press conference was one
- 58:40Speaker 1: of the most fascinating things I've ever seen. I saw
- 58:43Speaker 1: I was actually watching breaking points and they were talking
- 58:46Speaker 1: about it. Breaking points. If you, especially if you are
- 58:49Speaker 1: somebody who is kind of down the middle and doesn't
- 58:53Speaker 1: get to the you know, the far or the right.
- 58:55Speaker 1: When it comes to the left or the or the
- 58:57Speaker 1: left or the right. Breaking Points is a great It's
- 59:01Speaker 1: a great watch because they really you gotta you gotta,
- 59:03Speaker 1: you gotta Republican, you got a Democrat, and they are
- 59:06Speaker 1: just very even keeled, you know, smart individuals who give
- 59:12Speaker 1: you both perspectives and don't they're not on the fringes.
- 59:15Speaker 1: But I was watching Breaking Points and they were talking
- 59:17Speaker 1: about the the the the the press conference, and I
- 59:22Speaker 1: was like, I was looking at the clips of it.
- 59:24Speaker 1: I was like, this is fucking I have to go watch.
- 59:26Speaker 1: So I watched the whole press conference, which I almost
- 59:28Speaker 1: never watched the whole I have a hard time watching
- 59:30Speaker 1: twenty thirty minutes of Trump talk. Ever, it was fucking amazing,
- 59:36Speaker 1: mind blowing the way that he was just gleazing, Mom, Donnie. Now,
- 59:43Speaker 1: what does that tell you? It tells you a couple
- 59:44Speaker 1: of things. I think it showed you some very clear
- 59:49Speaker 1: things about each of them. First and foremost, it showed
- 59:53Speaker 1: you that Trump has no ideals or principles. He just
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: wants to win. He likes winners. He's gonna attach himself
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: to winners, and he's gonna do whatever he can to
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: make himself more popular and to make him be able
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: to win. And he sees the momentum of this guy
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I'm Donnie. He talked about it during the thing. You know,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: at one point he was at one percent, and then
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: all of a sudden, I see him's at two percent,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: he's at three percent. I'm saying, oh, this guy might
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: have something. All of a sudden, he's at seventeen percent.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I said, oh, well, he really might have something. And
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: now he's sitting there talking about how they're so like minded.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: We both love this city pop up. Uh. It was
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: amazing to watch. It was amazing to watch. I don't
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: know what that does to the Republican Party moving forward,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: all these people who were saying that this guy, he's
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: a socialist, he's gonna ruin this great city and all
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: this pop up. Uh. I don't know what that does
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: to them. But I don't think Trump gives a fuck.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Trump don't give a fuck about the Republican Party. You
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: go back in the day, he clearly said he did
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: not give a fuck about it. He thinks thought the
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Republics was stupid. But when it was time for him
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: to get in the race. He knew that this is
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: his way of getting to the presidential see was to
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: be a Republican. Now, I'm not gonna get too deep
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: into that. I feel certain ways about the way that
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: he's basically bamboos a lot of people. But at the
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: end of the day, I found it so fascinating watching
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: those two, who couldn't be further away on the overall
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: political spectrum, sit there and agree and compliment each other.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: They ask Mamdani, do you still consider Trump a fascist?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Trump says, that's okay, that's okay, that's okay, you can
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: call me a fascist. Oh. It was fucking amazing, man.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: I thought it was so interesting watching those two. And
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: what it tells you about Mamdannie is is that if
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Mamdani was all about dunking on Trump, if he was
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: all about, you know, riling up the far left, if
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: he was all about just making sure that he if
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: he had a real ego, he would have never went
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: there and he would have never played nice with Trump.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: But the thing about Mamdani and I live all the
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: way out in Arizona. Now I'm not back East. I've
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: lived in New York City when I was really little
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: and a little bit when my young twenties mostly was
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: in New Jersey. But I think after President, mayor of
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: New York City is maybe the second most important politician
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: in the country, just as far as like overall relevance.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: And Mamdani has a lot of big ideas. Many people
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: wonder whether or not he's going to be able to
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: execute those ideas. People call him a socialist, a jihadist,
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: a communist, whatever the case may be. You can tell
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: by the way that he conducted himself in that press
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: conference and the fact that he was even there to
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: meet with and try and work with Trump, this dude
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: really cares about New York and he is so on point.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: That dude. You ask him a question and he is
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: prepared and he comes back. He don't stutter, he don't misstep,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: he don't and he knows exactly what he's gonna say,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: and he comes back he says it concisely. And he
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: I mean, Bars, he used to be a rapper. I
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: can tell, Bars, And the fact that he clearly really
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: wants to help New York City and wants to help
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: them so much that he is willing to meet and
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: placate this guy and make sure that he has him
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: on his side, because Trump can make things very hard
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: for him, Donnie, he can make things very very difficult
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: for him. And now that we seem to have them
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: two on the same page, I think it's great for
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: New York and I think it really is honestly good
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: for the country overall, cause it makes a lot of
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: people who want to make things so divisive, and especially
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: the people who want to make things so divisive. The
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: far right they fucking love Trump. The far left, they
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: fucking love mam DONI. Well, guess what, now they're working together.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: What the fuck y'all gonna do? Now? Y'all gonna keep
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: talking shit and keep fighting with each other and making
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: a big deal online and having all this beat with
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: each other. How y'all gonna do that? When when the
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: pillars of your you know, uh, perspective movements are working together.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: I think that's a good thing. I think that's good
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: for all of us. I think that's very very good
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: for all of us. Y'all, these boat strikes kind of reckless.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: They seem kind of reckless. I don't know a lot
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: about them, so I'm not gonna get too deep into them,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: but you know, what I do know is I've seen
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: the show Snowfall, and long before I saw that show,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I knew, I knew the stories of you know, certain
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: three letter agencies bringing in drugs and pouring them into
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: the inner cities and what those did. So now the
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: fact that we're going down into you know, whether it
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: be the Atlantic or I guess one of them was
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: in the Pacific to day and just blowing up all
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: these boats because they're allegedly smuggling all these drugs into
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: the US, seems a little reckless to me. I don't
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: know enough about it to talk about it more than that,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: but it seems a little reckless to me. Okay, last
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: segment we call this ask Nick, I feel like we
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: need a better name than that. If you can, if
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: there's a better name than that, you know, put it
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: in the comments. But eventually I'll come up with something
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: a little bit better. But this is where I want
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: you to if you have a question, if you need
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: some advice and you are silly enough to think that
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: I am the person to get it from, go to
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Instagram search for independent names. You can see it down
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: there in the lower left hand corner. You see it
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: right there, right there at Independent Nick. It's independent and
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I see Nick with no K. That is the handle
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: on all socials. Go there, hop into the DMS and
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: if you need some advice, you can ask a question
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: and I will give you my advice. We pick at
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: least one every single week. I'm surprised we got. We
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: got quite a few questions. We got quite a few questions,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and I will keep it anonymous. Don't put any don't
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: put any names or anything like that. Don't put anything
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: if you don't want people to know who you are,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: don't put any anything identifiable, anything too specific. But this
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: week the question is and this obviously I think comes
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: from a gentleman, and he says, my wife has a
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: guy at work that she calls her work husband. I
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: know a lot of people have work husbands or wives,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: but it makes me uncomfortable. I was very jealous when
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: we first started dating, and I've calmed that down, but
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: this is really starting to get to me. The one
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: time I told her I wasn't a fan of her
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: calling him that, she told me I was being ridiculous
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: and that I should trust her and there's nothing to
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: worry about. Do I say something to her or should
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I say something to him at her company holiday party
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: in a couple of weeks, or should I just play
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: it cool now. I've heard plenty of people say, oh,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: this is my work wife or husband. I've had friends
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: of mine say like, oh this is my work wife,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: or had their wives say in front of everybody that
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: you know, talk about their work husband. Me personally, that
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: shit ain't for me. Okay, I personally feel and I
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: know that I might catch some heat for this. But
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: my wife, she's got male friends from when she was young.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: She's got a couple that she's still real cool with that.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: I know. Well, I'm cool with all of that. I
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: don't She's not making any new really close male friends
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: at this point of her life, and I'm just fine
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: with that. And if she was, I wouldn't be very
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: very happy about it. But this whole calling somebody your
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: work husband or your work wife that shit is crazy
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: to me. That shit is crazy to me. I'm sorry,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: but I'm not with that. I'm not with that now. Listen.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: One thing I have learned is that there is crazy
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: different dynamics in all different types of relationships. What works
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: for you and your significant other, that's what works for y'all,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: that's cool. I'm not hating as long as it works
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: for you and everybody is you know, above board and
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: keeping it a buck, that's cool. I know, I've been
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: more than surprised to learn about some of the you know,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: polyamorous dynamics of some of my friends who on the outside,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: they seem like the typical traditional couple and it's not
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: exactly what the dynamic is behind closed doors or you know,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: out there in that world. And you know what, that's fine,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: whatever works for you. But I'm assuming that the gentleman
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: in this, in this who asked me this question is
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: you know, in a more traditional monogamous one to two relationship,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: and that whole work wife, work husband shit that ain't
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: for me, Doug, miss me with that shit, that is
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: not for me, and I you know, I clearly the
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: fact that she's even willing to say this means that,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: you know, saying things like this is not a big
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: deal to him. He said that, you know, at one
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: point he kind of had me for the He says,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: he used to be very jealous when we first started dating,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: and I've calmed that down, but this is really starting
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: to get to me. So he was the type that
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: at the beginning was mad jealous, and you know probably
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: the wife and you know the girlfriend back then she
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: was like, Yo, why are you like this? And he realized, like, Yo,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: I'm kind of overdoing it. I'm not saying you should
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: be some crazy, jealous, raging asshole, but that whole work wife,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: work husband shit, it's not for me. Dog. Like I
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: said before talking about Drewski, he's got a skit about that.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: And I don't know exactly what that means. And in
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: today's world, most people spend more time with the people
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: they work with than they do with their own families.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Most people don't spend eight waking hours a day with
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: their families with their significant others. So the fact that
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: they have this relationship, where as opposed to just being
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: coworkers or maybe even friends, they gotta be work wife
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: and work husband, I think I think that's a red flag.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I think that's something you should be worried about. And
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the last thing you asked was do I say something
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: to her? Or should I say something to him at
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: her company holiday party in a couple of weeks or
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: should I just play it cool? The one thing that
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: you should absolutely not do is say something to him
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: at the company holiday party. You cannot get hired at
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: the company holiday party, but you can get your wife
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: fired at the company holiday party. Do not do not.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: Do not do that. Everybody's had a couple of drinks.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Depending on whatever response he has, you never know where
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: things can go from there. Don't do that. I also,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: just in general, if my significant other, if I have
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: an issue with whatever she's possibly doing with somebody else,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: that's not a beef between me and them. I gotta, y'all,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: gotta talk to the person that's that's you know, that's
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: that's mine, that's that the person that is with me
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: that has some sort of allegiance or responsibility to me.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: That's the conversation between you and your wife. And I
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: do think you need to say something. It's clearly bothering
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: you enough that you wanted to ask me about it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Excuse me. I told y'all, I'm not feeling okay, it's
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: not run out my nose in the middle of the pot.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Well we almost we almost, We're almost out. Yeah, man,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: you need to You need to talk to your wife
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: and say, hey, that's not cool with me. And if
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: she wants to say, oh, why you're making a big deal.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: You know, a pup up. Uh Nah, you need to
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: explain to her. Listen, you're my wife, I'm your husband,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: work home, whatever. I'm the only person that gets that title.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: It means a lot to me. I don't call anybody
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: my work wife. So you need to dad that shit.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: And honestly, I would be asking some more questions and
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: you know, be a little bit skeptical about the relationship. Now.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I don't believe in going through phones and becoming a
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: private eye. If you with somebody, you should trust them
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: enough that you don't need to do any of that shit.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: But what I would do at this holiday party is
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I would pay attention and watch about they. I would
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: see your interactions, especially in moments where they don't necessarily
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: think that I am watching them. I would take a
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: step back, and I would you know, just just Pete.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: You know her. You should be able to read her
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: better than anybody, and you need to take a look
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: and see how what's going on here and make sure
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: it's nothing crazy. I'm not telling you to get wild.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: I'm not accusing her of anything. I don't think you
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: should accuse her of anything, but I do think that
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: it is okay for you to set boundaries and say
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: that you know what this whole work wife, hurt, work husband,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: that title I'm not cool with, and honestly, that overall
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: dynamic and relationship I'm not cool with. I think that
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: you are totally within your right saying that. So just
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: make sure that if something is bothering you that you
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: communicate it, do so with as little emotion as possible.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: But you're gonna be emotional. I mean, we're talking about
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: your wife here, But at the end of the day,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: I would take a step back and I would do
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: some observing at this holiday party, and I would definitely
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: make it clear to her moving forward that this whole
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: work wife, work husband title and dynamic I'm not cool with.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: It's not for me. Appreciate y' all, man, it's another Thursday.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: It's the biggest episode yet. Looking at how many people
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: are checking out right now, I'm not sure what platforms
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: you're on, but I appreciate you like follow, subscribe, turn
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: on notifications, make sure you head over to YouTube and
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: hit the subscribe over there. Helps me out the most,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: keeps you up to date. Appreciate you all. It's your boy,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: and I see people
