- 0:10be a farmer. This is my Chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here. Every day to record a podcast
- 0:15to. Teach distinctions,
- 0:17possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some
- 0:20joy. Into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey, everybody.
- 0:28Good morning. So I want to take a moment and
- 0:31talk. About all.
- 0:32This sadness. I'm not going to speak of
- 0:35specific things, but I think everyone knows what I'm talking
- 0:38about. That's happened this week
- 0:40because I've heard. Feelings on it over and over and
- 0:44over. And I've experienced feelings.
- 0:46Myself over. And over and over.
- 0:49And when sad things happen, it pulls all our attention to the
- 0:55sad thing. And as human beings, we need to
- 0:59express them. We need to grieve about it.
- 1:01We need to talk about it. We need to be able to say this
- 1:04isn't right, this is sad, this is horrible.
- 1:07And we need to express those feelings.
- 1:10And that is absolutely, perfectly normal to be
- 1:14experiencing all the emotions included, including anger and
- 1:18resentment and fear and all of those things.
- 1:21It is definitely part of the dynamic that happens in our
- 1:26world when things that are sad happen and you can't make
- 1:31yourself wrong for it. You just have to go through the
- 1:33emotions and allow it to happen. But for me, over time, I've
- 1:38learned that there are a few things that I can do to help
- 1:41myself. And one of the biggest things
- 1:43that I, I personally partake in is when something happens that's
- 1:49horrible and really bad, I want to go.
- 1:51Do something nice for someone else.
- 1:53I want to go out there and pour good into the world instead of
- 1:56the bad, because the bad is always an option, but the good
- 2:00is always an option too. And the more we pay attention to
- 2:03the fact that we can go add the good, the more fortunate we are
- 2:08to recognize that we have the option to add the good.
- 2:11We have the option to do something.
- 2:13So today I am taking lots of eggs and I am giving them away
- 2:17to people, the fire departments getting some, some, my
- 2:20chiropractor is getting some. My friend's daughter is coming
- 2:23to pick up some. And when that happens, when I
- 2:28give those away, it makes me feel elated that people are
- 2:33appreciating what my girls do and what I do and that they get
- 2:37so excited with a dozen eggs. They just get so excited.
- 2:40And the guys at the fire department are just always so
- 2:43grateful that they get eggs and whatever else I give to them.
- 2:46Because lots of times I'll bake for them.
- 2:48If I'm in a really like either a very high mood excited or I'm in
- 2:53a very like there's sadness out there.
- 2:56I like to bake. I like to do things I like to
- 2:59can and I like to make jellies and things like that, do
- 3:02something creative in my head. And the moment I do that, I know
- 3:06I'm going to give some away and I know I'm going to feel better
- 3:08about it. So I, I have discovered that my
- 3:12healing process includes that. It doesn't negate the fact that
- 3:17I need to mourn. It doesn't negate the fact that
- 3:19I'm sad. But what it does do is it gives
- 3:21me a feeling of power instead of just sitting in the sadness and
- 3:26feeling like that I'm helpless and I can't do anything about
- 3:29it. There is something you can do.
- 3:31There is something that you can do and it's go add good to the
- 3:34world because it's always a balance.
- 3:36It's always been here, all of these horrible things ever since
- 3:40man has been on this planet have happened.
- 3:43It it it if you you know, it just didn't happen at the speed
- 3:46of light like it does now with our ability to find out things
- 3:50so quickly and hear them so quickly.
- 3:52And in my opinion, because of that, more people learn they can
- 3:56do horrible things so they can get attention.
- 4:00And so because we're all tapped into it, the more people that
- 4:03see it, the more people go, well, I want my limelight.
- 4:05And if they're not mentally stable to begin with, this
- 4:08initiates more of a problem. So it's just we find out things
- 4:13so fast now we don't even have time to recover from the last
- 4:17one when the next one shows up. Where before all of these
- 4:20things, like if you go back into the 1700s and 1800s, people were
- 4:25shot and killed all the time. There were, there were
- 4:27constantly things happening. You just didn't find out about
- 4:31them at the same rate of speed. You know, it was literally like
- 4:34the Pony Express. And you didn't know.
- 4:37You just didn't know. So you lived in your bubble and
- 4:40you took care of yourself and your family and you did what you
- 4:42had to do to survive. And we forget that the
- 4:46nanoseconds, the overload of information, the constant push
- 4:50of information makes us even sadder and it's harder to
- 4:53recover from. So the only counterbalance that
- 4:56I have ever found that works for myself is to pour good into the
- 4:59world. Go do something.
- 5:01Buy somebody a coffee in line behind you.
- 5:04Go. Go see somebody in a restaurant
- 5:06eating by themselves, having breakfast.
- 5:09Tell the waitress you want their bill to pay for it.
- 5:12Go out and have a conversation with somebody instead of just
- 5:15checking out and not even talking to the person who's
- 5:18checking out your groceries. Ask them how their day is.
- 5:21Watch them smile. Have a conversation about
- 5:23something, pick something, but do something.
- 5:27Spread the love. Do not sit and just be sad
- 5:30because that doesn't help. But spreading the love, man,
- 5:34that helps. All right, my friends, I hope
- 5:37you have a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 5:40Bye.
