  Speaker 1: the city raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and
• 5:21
  Speaker 1: expelled them from their region. Amen, I'll check this out.

  Speaker 1: The opposition it came from religious jealousy. It wasn't because
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: of truth. It wasn't because they were teaching false doctrine.

  Speaker 1: It was because they were jealous. Jealousy can be a monster,

  Speaker 1: and man, we gotta guard our heart against that. Now,
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: when the leaders couldn't defeat the message, they used political
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: and social influence. Love it. That's actually applies to us today.

  Speaker 1: The Gospel is still being persecuted and opposed, and we
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: see political and influential people all banded together against it.

  Speaker 1: We need to pray against that. Amen. Now, the enemy
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: often uses influence, reputation, and power structures to silence the truth,
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: and we get testified to that today. We see that
• 6:32
  Speaker 1: as clear as day right now. Now, when people reject truth,
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: they often try to remove the messenger. So don't trip
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: if they're trying to exclude you or I isolate you
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: because of the Gospel. Amen, God's got it. Now. Look
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: at what's happening though. The Gospel is spreading Hallelujah, and

  Speaker 1: lives are being changed. Gentiles are rejoicing in the midst

  Speaker 1: of this persecution. That religious leaders get jealous because of that.

  Speaker 1: Instead of celebrating salvation, they start manipulating city leaders. Now

  Speaker 1: that is demonic. They stir up influential people and suddenly

  Speaker 1: pulling Barnabas are forced out. Now. Notice something, they didn't

  Speaker 1: debate scripture. They didn't try to prove Paul wrong. They

  Speaker 1: simply try to silence him. That still happens today. Beloved,

  Speaker 1: Truth threatens comfortable religion. Truth will always threaten power structure.

  Speaker 1: Truth will always break the bonds of the enemy. Amen. Now,

  Speaker 1: sometimes obedience to God gets you re moved. Sometimes obedience

  Speaker 1: to God gets us rejected or mistreated. Remember, the Holy

  Speaker 1: Spirit while they were praying, told the church to separate

  Speaker 1: Park and Paul and Barnabas so that they can do

  Speaker 1: the work that I've called them to. And look at

  Speaker 1: what they've run into. This is often when opposition comes up,

  Speaker 1: it often means that we are on the right track.

  Speaker 1: So rejection does not mean failure. And I'm a live

  Speaker 1: energy trying to convince people who have already chosen resistance.

  Speaker 1: The Holy Spirit reminds us go where our hearts are open. Yes,

  Speaker 1: we can waste a lot of time on people who've
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: closed their hearts and minds to the Gospel. We need

  Speaker 1: to reach the people whose hearts are open. Some people
• 10:54
  Speaker 1: reject truth not because they don't understand it, but because
• 10:58
  Speaker 1: they just simply don't want it. Our job is obedience. Amen.

  Speaker 1: We don't have to persuade people. God did not give
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: us the ministry of persuasion, give us the ministry of reconciliation.

  Speaker 1: We're trying to reconcile people back onto God. Amen. And

  Speaker 1: so yeah, don't trip. Verse fifty two. And the disciples

  Speaker 1: were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: the missionaries were forced out, but the believers they left

  Speaker 1: behind were thriving. Persecution did not crush the church at all.

  Speaker 1: It strengthens it joy from the Holy Spirit, not comfortable circumstances.

  Speaker 1: this happen, but I know it's coming. One day the

  Speaker 1: church in the United States will be persecuted, but it's

  Speaker 1: going to make the church stronger. I would hate to

  Speaker 1: have a weak enemic church and go to hell. That
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: have a strong church that is being persecuted, and go
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: to heaven. You know what I mean? Now, Paul and
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: Barnabas they leave, Yet the believers, they remain filled with
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: joy and filled with the Holy Ghost. They were not
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: filled with fear, They were not filled with panic, they
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: were not filled with defeat. They were filled with joy.
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: And that should say something to us, something about us,
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: our makeup, the way we're structured. We can be filled
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: up either with good or with evil. Remember Judas is
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: Scariot when he went out to betrayed Christ. The Bible
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: says that Satan entered his heart. You see, we need
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: to be the gatekeepers. We can control what enters our hearts,
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: what we think about, what we ponder on on our minds.

  Speaker 1: On a daily basis, we need to ask God daily
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: to fill me with the spirit, filled me with joy,
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: filled me with faith, saying, man, we can be filled
• 13:42
  Speaker 1: up to where there's no room for evil. Hallelujah. They

  Speaker 1: were filled with joy. Why because their faith was rooting
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: in Jesus, not in Paul's performance, right, But the solid

  Speaker 1: hope and to worship. Now this proves something very important.

  Speaker 1: The church doesn't depend on personalities to thrive. The Church

  Speaker 1: depends on the Holy Spirit. So we can't look to

  Speaker 1: a charismatic pastor or leader. We got to look towards

  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit to empower us and to empower our ministry.

  Speaker 1: Joy isn't based on comfort. Joy is evidence of the

  Speaker 1: spirit inside of us. When circumstances shake you, does your

  Speaker 1: joy remain? Hallelujah? Let me ask that question again, When

  Speaker 1: circumstances hit you, does your joy remain? Strife kills the anointing.

  Speaker 1: Beloved God gets grieved on how we treat one another

  Speaker 1: and for arguing and bic youying all the time, husband

  Speaker 1: and wife. That grieves the Holy Spirit. Strife kills the anointing.

  Speaker 1: Beloved God wants us to be joyful. God wants us

  Speaker 1: to be loving at all times, no matter what. Because
