- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to another episode of Grace Explained.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Last week we talked about how dispensational Bible study can save you from hell.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Today we're going to talk about how dispensational Bible study can save you by hope.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: If you will, look at uh 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 15, 2 Timothy 2 and verse 15.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Again, there's a couple things here God wants us to study.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: The second thing is that it's work to do that.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And the third thing is how do we do it?
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: We do it by rightly dividing the word of truth.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: That simply means to cut straight.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: The word of God is in uh three separate parts, past, present, and future.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Um one of the biggest uh distinctions in the scripture is prophecy and mystery.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: There's a difference between the prophetic things that God gave from the foundation of the world and then the mystery which was kept secret since the world began.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So these are these are things that um a lot of people uh don't understand, and it kind of helps you um understand what God is saying when and where.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Um if you will look at if at Ephesians chapter 3, Ephesians chapter 3, and we'll read verses 1 through 4, verses 1 through 4, he says, For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, for you Gentiles, if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me to you word.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So this dispensation of grace was given to the Apostle Paul to give to the saints in the dispensation of grace.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: That's us.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: He says, How thou by revelation he made known unto me the mystery which he says, as I afore um as I wrote afore in few words, whereby when ye read ye may understand my knowledge and the mystery of Christ.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: So again, there's that mystery that we talked about, the dispensation of grace that was given to the apostle Paul is also part of that message, is the message about the mystery, and the mystery is the body of Christ.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: And again, we will look at a study and we'll do a study to show a little bit more about how the word is is divided, but also show how the difference between prophecy and mystery a little bit more in depth than we have in the past.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: But last week we looked at how that how that dispensational Bible study saved us from hell.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: There are people who are s who are teaching in the scriptures a gospel, but it's another gospel.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: It's not the gospel of the grace of God, it's not the gospel that was given by by Jesus Christ to the Apostle Paul, but it's another gospel, and this is something that they were that they were were preaching, and it gets very confusing.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And they'll say key words like Jesus, Jesus is the Son of God, which He is, but they don't believe that Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: They'll say things like Jesus died on the cross, which he did, and they'll say he died on the cross for your sins, which he did, but if they don't believe that he is God the Son, that he is God manifest in the flesh, then it's just another human dying for the world.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: That's not what God required.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: God required a perfect sacrifice, which was for him to come down manifest in the flesh in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Um the other things that people will say is that you're saved by grace, but you need to do this or you need to do that.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: People will tell you that you need to pray a prayer, people will tell you you need to get walk down an aisle, people will tell you that you need to do a lot of different things.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: So it's it's it's understanding that we do not have that the gospel of the grace of God is is is not something that has to do with any type of work.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: The gospel of the grace of God has to do with simply putting our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and in Him alone.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: And once we put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him and Him alone, then we have the free gift of eternal life by God's grace.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: No works involved.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: And there's so many times people want to add works to that grace.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: And when you're putting your faith and trust in the work that you did, you're putting your faith and trust in, okay, I believe this, but I need to do that, you're not fully trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: So what happens is we have to understand that we simply need to put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the gospel that was given by the Apostle Paul to us Gentiles.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: So that's how he saved us from hell, but then we we are going to look at today how he saves us by hope.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: There there is two different types of wrath.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: There's the wrath that comes by not simply trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, by dying in our sins, and then there that and there's a wrath where where God's going to judge mankind, and you're going to stand before people will stand before God at the great white throne judgment, and they will they will either be in glory or they'll be thrown into a lake of fire.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: That's an eternal wrath or damnation.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: But there's also another wrath.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: There's the there's the wrath, or as many people know it as the tribulation period.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And so what happens is there's a lot of passages of scripture talking about this time period, about the tribulation period, and about this time of wrath.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: And there are many Christians today who believe that they're going to go through the tribulation period.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: They believe they're going to go through this time of wrath and don't understand that they have eternal, that in the dispensation of grace, if you have eternal life, you're not going to go through that.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: You've been saved from that.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: If you'll look at Romans chapter 8 and verse 24, Romans chapter 8 and verse 24, he says, For we are saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: For when a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: So you gotta understand when when you're hoping for something and you're and you're looking for something, once you see it, there's no longer a hope for it.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Once you see it, there's there's no longer a desire for that thing to come or happen because it's already happened.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: I think about this a lot of people, a lot of kids, a lot of young people, on December 24th, they they asked for a bike for Christmas.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And they hope they have that bike.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: They hope when they wake up in the morning and they go out and where all the presents are that there's a bike there for them.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, once they walk out there and they see that bike, they don't go to their mom and dad and go, Well, I hope I get a bike.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: You know, there it's it's not something that you hope you get it once you already have it.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: So once we have this hope, and we're gonna look at what this hope is, once we have this hope, there's no reason to hope for it again once we've once we've seen it, once we've seen it.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: And we have it.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: He says here, we're saved by hope.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: There's a hope that saves us.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: When I hear about things that are going on uh in the world, and people go, well, see, this is uh it's it's getting close to the end times, and oh, the the the uh rapture is gonna come, and oh the the oh, we hope it you know the tribulation may happen.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Folks, believers have been believing this since Paul started preaching it.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: They all had a hope, and they all thought that they were gonna be a part of the hope.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And so for 2,000 years, people have been leaving it, and the Lord may tarry for another 2,000 years before he comes back, before Christ comes and the resurrection happens.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Look at Romans chapter 5 and verse 2, Romans 5 and verse 2.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: He says, by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: There's a hope that we have of the glory of God.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: And again, we will look further into this to see what this hope is, but you've got to understand you have, you rejoice and hope.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: You have you have access to God by faith, and you rejoice and hope of the glory of God.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that we've looked at this passage before, we did a study on it, knowing that tribulation works patience, patience experience, and experience hope.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Whatever the troubles you're going through now, you patiently get through it because there's something far much better than what's on this earth.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And then that patience gives you experience because you know that there's something positive that you're going to get, and that experience gives you hope.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: And if you look at verse 5, and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: So, what is this hope?
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: What is this thing that we're that we're looking for?
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: What is this hope that that we're looking to have?
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Well, if you will, go to um 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 8.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 8, and we'll see here that he talks again about this hope.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: He says, But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of breastplate of faith and love, and for an helmet the hope of salvation.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: So there's a hope that we have, not a hope, oh I hope that I'm not going to go to hell.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: It's not that kind of hope, but there's a different hope.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: There's a hope that we have, and it's a hope of salvation.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: So there's something that God's going to save us from.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: He says, and he goes, for God hath not appointed us to what?
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Wrath.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: But to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: So again, there's two different types of wrath we're going to talk about.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: But if you will, you understand that that this passage of Scripture comes after the chapter that was just before it.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: If you refer in 1 Thessalonians 5, look at verse chapter 4.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: 1 Thessalonians 4 and verse 13, he says, But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: So he talks about those who have no hope.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: He's talking about those who are asleep.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Those who are asleep are those who actually have eternal, and people, you gotta understand, he's he those are people, those who are asleep are people who are dead.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: And so when he says that to them, he says, Don't sorrow as those who don't have a hope, because there is a hope.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: He goes, For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: So now he's talking about how that God's going to bring, bring with him those who are already asleep in Jesus.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Folks, what that means is he's talking about those who are dead in Christ.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Those who are believers, who have put their faith and trust in Christ, and they're believers in Christ, and when they die, they they have you seen a dead person, they look like they're asleep.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: So he says, Those who are asleep, he says, For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: He's talking about when Christ comes back to get the church, the body of Christ.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: And then he goes on and he says, For this we say unto you, by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of our Lord Jesus, unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: He says, So when you look at it, he says, For we say unto you, by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain, those of us who have not died, those of us who are not asleep in Christ are asleep in Christ Jesus, he says, but yet we're still remaining when Christ comes back to get us.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: We're not preventing those who already died.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: They're not going to miss out on this.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: They're actually going to be a part of this because Christ is going to bring them back with him.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: In verse 16, the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Those who are asleep in Christ Jesus, those who are dead, they're the first ones to be resurrected.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: They're the first ones that are going to be saved by this hope.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: They're the first ones that are going to come.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: And folks, it's in a it's literally going to happen in a blink of an eye.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: So it's not like, oh, it's you know, it's going to happen an hour before.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: It's just going to happen so quickly, but they're still going to be raised first.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: And then he says in verse 17, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: We're going to be caught up.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: We are going to be resurrected.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: The word a lot of people like to use is rapture because that that word was there to be called caught up, like a raptor.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: To be caught up, he says, there it's that word rapture, rapture you won't find in the scriptures anywhere, but that's where they come up with the term rapture.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: I call it the resurrection.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: He says, he says, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord, wherefore comfort one another with these words.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: So what you see is you you go on and you find out that you that you are not going to prevent them, which are which are dead in Christ.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: You're not going to prevent any any of those things, but you're going to go ahead and you're going to be caught up.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: You're going to be caught up with those who already are dead in Christ, and they're going to be resurrected.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: So he says, don't sorrow, because it's not like you're never going to see those people again.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: You are going to see them again.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: And when you're going to see them again is at this moment.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: If you're still alive, guess what?
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: You're still going to be here and you're going to see them.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Go to 1 Corinthians 15 and verse 51.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: You'll see the same thing.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: 1 Corinthians 15, verse 51, he's going to talk about this.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: He says, Behold, I show you a mystery.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Again, this is something that's been kept secret, something that was not prophesied.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: You're not going to find this in the Old Testament scriptures.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: You're not going to find this in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: You're not going to find this in the book of Acts.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: You're not going to find this in Hebrews through Revelation.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: He says, Behold, I show you a mystery.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: We shall not all sleep.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: He's telling the body of Christ, guess what?
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: You're not all going to die.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: But we shall all be changed.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: So those who are dead in Christ, what scripture calls a sleep, he says, He says, We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Us who are still alive and aren't gonna and aren't gonna fall asleep, we're gonna be changed.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: And he says, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: You know what happens?
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: There comes a point in time when Christ comes back that we're going to be changed.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna die.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: For us who are still alive, we're not gonna die.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be changed.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna we're we're going to to he's he says the in he says the dead shall be raised incorruptible.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: If you've ever seen a dead body that's starting to decay, it's corrupted.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: It's a corruptible.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: It's nothing, there's nothing good about it.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: And he says, in a moment and twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Because in First Thessalonians he told us what?
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: That those which are dead in Christ shall what?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Rise first.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: And they're that corruption is going to put on incorruption.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: And then what?
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be changed.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Then we which are alive will we will and remain shall be caught up together with him in the clouds.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Well, the moment that happens, guess what?
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be changed.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: But how are we gonna be changed?
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: What are we gonna be changed from?
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Look at Philippians chapter 3 and verse 20.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Philippians chapter 3 and verse 20.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our what?
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Vile body.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: This body's vile, it's got worms in it, there's sickness in it, there's disease in it, there's all kinds of things.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: And he says, Who shall change our vile body that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: So you know what's gonna happen?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: The dead in Christ, those saints who have who have died in Christ before us, they're going to be raised first, and their corruptible bodies are gonna be made like a glorified body.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Just like Christ's glorified body.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: And then we which are which remain and are still alive, guess what?
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be caught up in the clouds with him, and we're gonna have our bodies changed.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be changed.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna those who are alive when Christ comes back for this resurrection, those who are still alive, we're gonna be changed.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna have our vile body that we're in now, it's gonna be changed and it's gonna be fashioned like unto his glorious body.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: That is a hope.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: That is something that we don't oh, I hope this happens.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Most Christians who understand this say, I hope it happens when I'm still alive.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: No one wants to die.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: No one wants to have to go through that some sometimes very painful death.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: No one wants to go through that.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: No one there I haven't met a person who said, I'm looking forward to dying.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: If they're a Christian, they're not looking forward to dying, they're looking forward to the rapture, again, the resurrection.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: That's what they're looking forward to.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: The resurrection, but they're not looking forward to dying.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: And so what happens is death is not something that we want.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: Death is death is because of the sin.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: The wages of sin is death.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: But we're looking for that glorious appearing of our great God and Savior.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Titus chapter two and verse thirteen.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: This is what we call a blessed hope.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: And if you don't understand the scriptures, if you don't rightly divide the word of truth, if you don't study your Bible dispensationally, you're gonna get caught up in scriptures.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: In the Old Testament, in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in the book of Revelation, and the tribulation epistles, which is which is Hebrews through Revelation.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: You're going to start reading those things and think that they're talking to you.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: And you're going to think you're going to go through this tribulation period.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: You're going to think that you're going to have a part of the wrath that God is going to pour out on this earth.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: And you're not.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: You have a hope.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: And he says in Titus 2.13, looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: You know what our hope is?
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: You know what dispensational Bible study does?
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: It saves us by hope.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: I'm not worried about what's going on.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: I'm not worried about what's happening in the world around me today.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: I know what happens.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: I'm watching it, I'm seeing it, but it's not going to be something where whatever's happening in the world today, I'm thinking, oh no, how's that going to affect my eternal situation?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: It's not.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: If I die before the resurrection, if I die before the rapture happens, if I die before Christ comes back and calls the church, the body of Christ, to be caught up with him, then I'll be one of those who are asleep.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: There's a hope because one day I'm going to have this corrupted body and it's going to be changed and it's going to be like his glorious body.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: And then those of us who are still alive, if I'm blessed enough to be here when Christ comes back and not suffer death, then I'm going to be here and I'm going to understand how that Christ died for me, and because of my faith in that and that alone, that when he comes back, he's going to call me up and he's going to change me.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: He's going to change this vile body, and it's going to be fashioned like unto his glorious body.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: That's the hope that we're looking for.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Dispensational Bible study will save you by hope and understanding what actually is going to happen to you.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: What actually is the end result for you.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: And it's not going through the tribulation, it's not going through the wrath, but it's understanding who we are in Christ, understanding our our our position in Christ, understanding our blessings in Christ.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: And if you look again at verse Titus 2.13, he says, looking for that blessed hope.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: It's a blessed hope.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: And that's what we have.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: If you've never put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, if you don't know for sure that you're going to be part of this hope, if you don't know for sure that you would be taken and you would be resurrected with the Lord Jesus Christ when he comes back, if you don't know for sure that you're going to have a body fashioned like unto his glorious body, if you've never trusted Christ, simply know how that Christ came and he died on the cross for your sins.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: He was buried and he rose again the third day.
