Luna: Oh that's useful. I always struggle at the pharmacy. Lucas: Exactly. So first phrase: 我要食藥. It means 'I need to take medicine'. Luna: 我要食藥. That's a mouthful. 我要食藥. Lucas: Good! 食 means 'eat' or 'take', and 藥 is 'medicine'. So literally 'I want to eat medicine'. Luna: Right. 我要食藥. I can remember that. Lucas: Now if you have a cold, you can say 我感冒. 感冒 is 'common cold'. Luna: 我感冒. So if I'm sniffling, I can say that. Lucas: Exactly. And then the doctor might send you to the 藥房, which is 'pharmacy'. Luna: 藥房. Like the place where you get medicine. Lucas: Yes. At the pharmacy, you might point to a medicine and say 呢隻藥. That means 'this medicine'. Luna: 呢隻藥. 呢隻 is 'this', right? Like 'this one'. Lucas: Exactly. And the pharmacist might tell you to take it 一日三次, which means 'three times a day'. Luna: 一日三次. So 一日 is 'one day', 三次 is 'three times'. Lucas: Perfect.
