- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Clayne. Back to back wins Vancouver and Florida
- 0:04Speaker 1: on the weekend and really have put that four game
- 0:07Speaker 1: slide behind you. Just what have you thought it's been
- 0:09Speaker 1: the biggest difference is these last two games compared to
- 0:12Speaker 1: the previous four.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I just thought we played a little bit more, not urgency,
- 0:18Speaker 2: but just a little less with hesitation, you know. I
- 0:22Speaker 2: think there was a couple of times during a couple
- 0:24Speaker 2: of those games, and certainly in the Colorado game, where
- 0:26Speaker 2: we were a little bit hesitant, you know, trying to
- 0:31Speaker 2: protect and not get scored on as you know, as
- 0:35Speaker 2: opposed to you know, just closing ending plays and going
- 0:39Speaker 2: on the offense. So I thought we did a much
- 0:41Speaker 2: better job of that. Our mindset was better.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Eleven goals your last two games. Bobby McMahon has factored
- 0:46Speaker 1: in into five of those goals. Have you noticed anything
- 0:50Speaker 1: different offensively or is it simply that Bobby McMahon brings
- 0:54Speaker 1: something to your lineup that you've been missing for the
- 0:56Speaker 1: first three quarters of the season.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, No, there's not a whole bunch of difference with Bobby.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You know, he obviously you know, it's really good to
- 1:05Speaker 2: see him, you know, get on this little bit of
- 1:09Speaker 2: a run. We need him to continue doing that for us.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You know, I knew last week when he was stuck
- 1:14Speaker 2: in immigration that we needed him. Certainly could have made
- 1:17Speaker 2: a difference in a couple of those games. But you
- 1:20Speaker 2: know he's for me. Comes as advertised. You know, is
- 1:23Speaker 2: he going to get you know, five points in every
- 1:25Speaker 2: two games? No, but he certainly provides us with speed
- 1:29Speaker 2: and some offensive instincts.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I said last night when I talked to you last game,
- 1:34Speaker 1: that the two points minimums got to be the standard,
- 1:36Speaker 1: because he had three in his first game. Now two
- 1:38Speaker 1: last games, so hopefully for two here tonight. Looking at
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Landing, another top team in the NHL.
- 1:45Speaker 1: When you look at the last two games that you've
- 1:47Speaker 1: played Colorado and Carolina against top teams, two different results,
- 1:51Speaker 1: can you take some lessons from those games and apply
- 1:55Speaker 1: them here to Tampa.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I think you take more lessons, hopefully from the Colorado game,
- 1:59Speaker 2: than you do from the Carolina game. Tampa is a
- 2:02Speaker 2: very similar team to Colorado in terms of offensive abilities,
- 2:07Speaker 2: extremely dangerous, high level, high end talent, a bunch of
- 2:11Speaker 2: guys that played in the Olympics. So that tells you something.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You know, They're a good hockey team. So I think
- 2:16Speaker 2: we can take a little bit more out of the
- 2:18Speaker 2: Colorado game the Carolina game, not because we won the
- 2:20Speaker 2: Carolina game and lost the Colorado game, but just because,
- 2:24Speaker 2: you know, we have to make sure that we're not
- 2:25Speaker 2: hesitant out there tonight and we've got to we've got
- 2:28Speaker 2: to get on our toes and go for it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I think you, more so than most coaches in the league,
- 2:33Speaker 1: know what this Tampa Bay Lightning team can do. Having
- 2:35Speaker 1: coached against them, coached against them so much couple of
- 2:38Speaker 1: conference finals. Why are they so dangerous? What issues do
- 2:43Speaker 1: they present teams that seemingly they've not been able to
- 2:46Speaker 1: overcome in the last handful of years that Tampa has
- 2:49Speaker 1: been this dominant force out of the East.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Talent, They got a lot of talent, and they work.
- 2:54Speaker 2: You know, you talk about the Tampa Bay Lightning and
- 2:56Speaker 2: all the talent they have. They go to the net very,
- 2:58Speaker 2: very hard. They play a championship playoff type of hockey game,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and they can play any game you want, and you
- 3:06Speaker 2: know it starts with number eighty six and number twenty one,
- 3:10Speaker 2: So you know, I mean, that's what they are. That's
- 3:12Speaker 2: why they're so good and you know they've had a
- 3:17Speaker 2: lot of success over the years.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You've gotten off some good starts. Last two games against
- 3:20Speaker 1: Vancouver along with Florida. Defensively you've played well. I have
- 3:24Speaker 1: to imagine those have to be your top two keys
- 3:26Speaker 1: tonight for victory.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Well, we got to come out and play the first
- 3:29Speaker 2: five minutes, you know, and make sure that we're on
- 3:32Speaker 2: our toes and going, and then we'll take it from there.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Just taking increments of five minutes. Don't get ahead of ourselves,
- 3:36Speaker 2: but we need a good start.
