It’s weird out there for sure, and there’s a lot of change going on and major tectonic shifting to be certain. Coming up now as an illustrator is in many ways an unrecognizably different enterprise than it was when I was coming up in the 1990’s, but happily most of it remains the same. Or rather most of what goes into it as a value and as a way of navigating your career still remain true. The window-dressing has changed, but the bones are the same:
