- 0:00Hello.
- 0:00Hello and welcome back to Kathie's Coaching podcast.
- 0:03Today is something.
- 0:05Super special.
- 0:06Super close to my heart.
- 0:09I am interviewing one of my fellow mastermind from Flow Base Prosperity Mastermind with Joseph Rodriguez.
- 0:17This name is Mark Pinto and he's a coach on anxiety, and I have been working with him and he has.
- 0:24Awesome stories.
- 0:26I mean, his stories are the best.
- 0:28And as storyteller myself, I could tell you, you're in for a real treat today.
- 0:33So without further ado, let's get into the episode.
- 0:48Speaker View & Screen Share: All right, so here we are.
- 0:52Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm interviewing my mentor and my coach on anxiety, and I'm, I'm just gonna say this right here, right now, y'all know me, you know, I'm open, you know, I share myself and my story and my vulnerability.
- 1:08Speaker View & Screen Share: And the thing is, is co getting a coached on anxiety just makes me a better coach in general.
- 1:15Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, just all of my coaches, and I've worked with all of them inside our mastermind.
- 1:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I'm gonna share a little bit of my journey that has gone on with my coach, mark Pinto.
- 1:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And so welcome today, mark.
- 1:29Speaker View & Screen Share: How you doing?
- 1:30Speaker View & Screen Share: Thank you for having me.
- 1:32Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm good.
- 1:32Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm, I feel good.
- 1:33Speaker View & Screen Share: It's a nice day.
- 1:34Speaker View & Screen Share: It's sunny outside.
- 1:35Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, honestly, I, I enjoy, I only used to enjoy the sunny days, but now I enjoy the rainy days.
- 1:42Speaker View & Screen Share: The cloudy days.
- 1:43Speaker View & Screen Share: I just enjoy nature a lot more now.
- 1:46Speaker View & Screen Share: I know, right?
- 1:47Speaker View & Screen Share: And me too.
- 1:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And in fact, mark and I had a coaching call the other day where it started raining on him and he just went with the flow.
- 1:56Speaker View & Screen Share: And I love that.
- 1:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And I, I wanna talk to, today I wanna talk about, um, how we find inspiration even in the middle of anxiety, even in the middle of a lot of stress.
- 2:09Speaker View & Screen Share: Because I don't care who you are, you are experiencing anxiety in some way, shape, or form.
- 2:15Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you become aware of that, you get to find your own energy and you get to find a lot of power.
- 2:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And as Mark likes to say, you're not thinking in this little brain.
- 2:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And he holds up his little iPod case.
- 2:30Speaker View & Screen Share: I have that.
- 2:31Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker View & Screen Share: And then yeah, there's the iPod case.
- 2:35Speaker View & Screen Share: So.
- 2:36Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, instead, let's think with our bigger brain, he uses a notebook, but honestly, I like to think of it as intelligence, which is bigger than the notebook, but the visual is very helpful and really makes you see.
- 2:52Speaker View & Screen Share: So, um, the very first thing I wanna ask you, mark, is how, how do you start when you're coaching on anxiety?
- 3:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, do you, how, how do you find your questions?
- 3:05Speaker View & Screen Share: Because I just felt right at home with you when I, when I talked to you, and it was like really a good journey that we went through together.
- 3:12Speaker View & Screen Share: So let's, how, how do you find out what, where somebody is on their anxiety scale?
- 3:20Speaker View & Screen Share: Well, uh, the first thing I do is, um, is like I always.
- 3:25Speaker View & Screen Share: Say a little prayer in my mind when I'm talking to somebody and I say, God, give me the, give me the message that you've been trying to give to them that they haven't received.
- 3:34Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 3:34Speaker View & Screen Share: So that's something I do silently, you know when I'm talking.
- 3:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Even if it's just a stranger in the street.
- 3:39Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause sometimes you're just talking with some stranger and you're having to talk a conversation about nothing.
- 3:45Speaker View & Screen Share: But then all of a sudden it just turns into something and you realize that this person needs something.
- 3:51Speaker View & Screen Share: They, they're dealing with something.
- 3:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I say that silent prayer and sometimes they're not even talking about anything.
- 3:56Speaker View & Screen Share: But I can feel that there's something that's they need.
- 4:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'll say that silent prayer again.
- 4:01Speaker View & Screen Share: So that's the first thing I do is say that silent prayer.
- 4:05Speaker View & Screen Share: And then the next thing I do is I just ask them like what they've been going through, like, explain it to me.
- 4:10Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause when I can hear how you speak.
- 4:13Speaker View & Screen Share: I can hear, I can, I'll know where you're at.
- 4:16Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, like if you're saying my anxiety and you know, which you're identifying with the anxiety and you're saying, uh, this happened to me and it made me really anxious, then I know that you think that circumstances are creating your anxiety and it's not how you, not the story about the circumstance, but you think it's the thing, you know.
- 4:35Speaker View & Screen Share: And so as you speak naturally and tell me about what's going on, I can feel through the, your words, like exactly where you're at, you know?
- 4:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I start to intuitively know where we need to go and, and where we need to get started.
- 4:50Speaker View & Screen Share: But, you know, it's like, it's just like ourselves, you know?
- 4:53Speaker View & Screen Share: When we get connected and we get guidance, God never gives you like the, the whole like steps from A to Z, you know, God gives you like the first step, you know?
- 5:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And then when you take that step, then you get to see the next step.
- 5:04Speaker View & Screen Share: And then, so I do the same thing in, in my coaching, you know, so it's like, you know, I know where we are going.
- 5:11Speaker View & Screen Share: But we have to start where we're at, you know?
- 5:15Speaker View & Screen Share: Ooh, I love that.
- 5:16Speaker View & Screen Share: And, you know, um, I like the reframe that Mark helped me identify because when you stop calling it my anxiety, it shifts everything.
- 5:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And it's like the anxiety, the anxiety becomes your teacher.
- 5:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, um, there's lessons always to be learned.
- 5:38Speaker View & Screen Share: And one thing I really love about my journey with Mark is he emphasized.
- 5:44Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, doing nothing, number one.
- 5:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Number two is also getting in nature to get your answers to anything.
- 5:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, especially on a call the other day, he told me about how he got an answer to a question he was thinking about, and I really liked how he, um, he framed it where you don't go in demanding the answer, give me the answer, gimme the answer.
- 6:10Speaker View & Screen Share: So I want Mark to tell us about that and kind of give us an idea of what.
- 6:16Speaker View & Screen Share: That situation looked like because he's an awesome storyteller, by the way.
- 6:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Thank you.
- 6:23Speaker View & Screen Share: Thank you.
- 6:24Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker View & Screen Share: So, um, so I, I've been working on getting, uh, getting back in shape like how I used to be.
- 6:30Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm 47, so in my thirties, in my early thirties, I was in amazing shape, six pack and everything.
- 6:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And I've been working to get back and intuitively I've been guided to, to track my macros.
- 6:41Speaker View & Screen Share: And as I'm tracking my macros, I'm just really enjoying it and I'm, I'm hitting my macros every day and I'm going to the gym and I'm, I'm doing everything and I'm, I'm losing weight.
- 6:51Speaker View & Screen Share: And then a couple days, uh, I gained like 0.2 pounds, 0.3 pounds and 0.5 pounds.
- 6:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And so the second day that I saw, I gained, uh, 0.3 pounds.
- 7:02Speaker View & Screen Share: I was upset, like immediately I can feel the aggravation and the, the discouragement and all that stuff.
- 7:08Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was gonna go to the gym that morning.
- 7:10Speaker View & Screen Share: And then it was like, why are you even bothering?
- 7:12Speaker View & Screen Share: It's a waste of time and things like that.
- 7:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I immediately, I kind, I realized that this is not me.
- 7:18Speaker View & Screen Share: This is, um, this, this is, um, discouragement talking.
- 7:22Speaker View & Screen Share: This is discouragement talking.
- 7:23Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause all emotions come with a story, right?
- 7:26Speaker View & Screen Share: And they come with words and they come with thoughts.
- 7:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And these are not you.
- 7:30Speaker View & Screen Share: These are just the energies trying to take you over, trying to hook you.
- 7:34Speaker View & Screen Share: And so when I realized that there was discouragement, I said, okay, let's, let's put some space in between this.
- 7:40Speaker View & Screen Share: Let's like relax.
- 7:41Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, okay, what should I do now?
- 7:44Speaker View & Screen Share: Because discouragement is like, just stay home.
- 7:46Speaker View & Screen Share: And as I relaxed, I was like, you know what?
- 7:48Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm going to the gym even though I feel aggravated, even though I feel discouraged, I'm going to gym.
- 7:54Speaker View & Screen Share: And I knew that also, when I go to gym, I go to the sauna first and I sit in there and I stretch.
- 8:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And the sauna is a place for me that helps me to get intuitive guidance because it brings me in the moment.
- 8:06Speaker View & Screen Share: Anything that brings you in the moment helps intuitive guidance to come to you in the present moment.
- 8:11Speaker View & Screen Share: And that's why I love nature.
- 8:12Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause nature is so present, right?
- 8:15Speaker View & Screen Share: And so nature just helps.
- 8:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Anybody to get in the present moment a lot easier.
- 8:20Speaker View & Screen Share: So while I was in the sauna and I'm just sitting there relaxing and stretching and breathing, just being present, I get this intuitive message that says, Hey, look up on YouTube.
- 8:31Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, what should, um, wait.
- 8:33Speaker View & Screen Share: WA yourself every day.
- 8:34Speaker View & Screen Share: So I, I look up, it is very, very specific title.
- 8:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Weigh Yourself every day.
- 8:38Speaker View & Screen Share: So I put in Weigh Yourself every Day.
- 8:40Speaker View & Screen Share: And I looked that up and about three videos down I see a video from a guy.
- 8:45Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, you know, I think this is the video.
- 8:46Speaker View & Screen Share: The first video is like, uh, uh.
- 8:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I was like, oh, this looks like might be one.
- 8:50Speaker View & Screen Share: So I click on that and this guy proceeds to say, he's like in my community.
- 8:55Speaker View & Screen Share: He has a weight loss community in our community.
- 8:57Speaker View & Screen Share: Anytime somebody new comes into the community, they start to, uh, lose weight and they feel good.
- 9:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And then inevitably they have a day that they gain weight and they get discouraged and like, I'm not doing this anymore.
- 9:09Speaker View & Screen Share: They're like, I've been hitting my macros.
- 9:10Speaker View & Screen Share: I've been working out and I still gain weight.
- 9:12Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, holy crap.
- 9:14Speaker View & Screen Share: This is exactly what I was thinking.
- 9:16Speaker View & Screen Share: Right?
- 9:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Or what the, the discouragement was thinking.
- 9:19Speaker View & Screen Share: Let's say it like that.
- 9:20Speaker View & Screen Share: Right?
- 9:20Speaker View & Screen Share: That's what the discouragement was saying to me, right?
- 9:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And he said, but anybody that's been through this program that's lost weight, that's been doing this for a while, all of our older members that's been here for a while knows that you are going to gain weight.
- 9:33Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just part there will be fluctuations.
- 9:35Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just part of the journey.
- 9:37Speaker View & Screen Share: And so what you have to do is continue hitting your macros, continue going to the gym, continue being that fit person, and eventually you'll like lose weight.
- 9:47Speaker View & Screen Share: And sometime you'll spike up, but then you'll lose more and the spike up and then you'll lose more and eventually you'll get to the weight you want.
- 9:52Speaker View & Screen Share: But you just have to like, um, disregard those that, that, those days when it goes up and just keep doing what you know is right.
- 10:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, wow, look at that.
- 10:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Just like that, I got the answer.
- 10:04Speaker View & Screen Share: And when I got the answer, I was like, now discouragement has lost so much power over me.
- 10:10Speaker View & Screen Share: Because that was one of the things that used to discourage me a lot going on the scale.
- 10:14Speaker View & Screen Share: But now that I know the truth and the way that the perfect video of the guy talking about everybody that's been through this knows this already, it's kind of like, okay, well now I know it too.
- 10:23Speaker View & Screen Share: So that's no longer work.
- 10:24Speaker View & Screen Share: I know once I hit my macros, once I work out, once I'm in the calorie deficit, every day over time, I will lose weight and I'm not worried about my results every single day.
- 10:35Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm worried.
- 10:35Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm more concerned with my results overall, I.
- 10:38Speaker View & Screen Share: And this is what I tell people with anxiety, it's the same thing you are.
- 10:43Speaker View & Screen Share: I always say as, as you do the the work, you're going to have more peace.
- 10:47Speaker View & Screen Share: Your peace is gonna rise, but it's gonna be upward trending.
- 10:51Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not gonna be a straight line.
- 10:53Speaker View & Screen Share: It's gonna be one day.
- 10:54Speaker View & Screen Share: You feel lots of peace.
- 10:55Speaker View & Screen Share: The day you may feel a little anxiety, then you feel a lot more peace.
- 10:59Speaker View & Screen Share: And another that you may feel tremendous anxiety.
- 11:01Speaker View & Screen Share: And if you trust, if you listen to those days, you have anxiety, you'll say to yourself, this is not working and you'll give up.
- 11:08Speaker View & Screen Share: But the truth is, the days that you feel the most anxious when you do the work is the days that you kick anxiety in the butt the most, you know, because you are continuing to be the person regardless of circumstances.
- 11:21Speaker View & Screen Share: That's what creates the sharp upward trend and a lot of like, like a, like a quantum leap, which, yeah, which, which I have had since working with Mark.
- 11:31Speaker View & Screen Share: I've had quantum leaps in my anxiety journey and I just have to commend him.
- 11:37Speaker View & Screen Share: He's awesome storyteller.
- 11:39Speaker View & Screen Share: So I love how he reframed that discouragement.
- 11:44Speaker View & Screen Share: Was it, it, it wasn't him.
- 11:47Speaker View & Screen Share: He didn't identify with it.
- 11:49Speaker View & Screen Share: It was his thoughts about it that he caught on and he has an awesome story that I want him to share that talks about that.
- 11:59Speaker View & Screen Share: It's our thoughts about things, and I want him to share the story and how he re helped me reframe something that was going on in my life with this simple story.
- 12:09Speaker View & Screen Share: You're gonna be blown away when I, when, when we talk about this, and actually he's probably got more, and I, I can think of two right now, two stories I'd love for him to tell, and I'm gonna make him tell both of them.
- 12:22Speaker View & Screen Share: So the first one I want you to tell is about the bug in your car.
- 12:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Bug in the car.
- 12:28Speaker View & Screen Share: Oh, that was a good one.
- 12:30Speaker View & Screen Share: All right, so the bug in the car, that would just happen recently, right?
- 12:33Speaker View & Screen Share: That was just like a month or two ago, if that long.
- 12:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And so in Florida, in the rainy season, like all the bugs, all the palmetto bugs, which are like big roaches, they, they come into your home, right?
- 12:45Speaker View & Screen Share: And so apparently one came into our car, right?
- 12:50Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm driving my daughter to school, my 9-year-old daughter to school in the morning.
- 12:55Speaker View & Screen Share: And uh, I'm driving, we are having a wonderful, beautiful day is normal.
- 12:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Then all of a sudden she's just like screaming and, and pointing and I'm like, oh my God, what is there like a terrorist attack going on?
- 13:06Speaker View & Screen Share: It was like so dramatic.
- 13:08Speaker View & Screen Share: Like I thought something like insane was happening.
- 13:11Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'm like, I'm staying calm.
- 13:12Speaker View & Screen Share: I feel my adrenaline spike, but I'm staying calm'cause I have to stay in control of the car.
- 13:17Speaker View & Screen Share: And I look around and then I look up and there's a huge roach, like palmetto bug and like right in front of my visor.
- 13:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And at the same time, I'm shocked.
- 13:25Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm also relieved because I'm like, nothing's exploding.
- 13:28Speaker View & Screen Share: There's no kind of crazy things happen.
- 13:30Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'm like, all right, just calm down.
- 13:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, first of all,'cause that first wave of anxiety shot up.
- 13:37Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was like, all right, let's calm down.
- 13:38Speaker View & Screen Share: But you have to stay relaxed'cause you driving your, your daughter and you can't like think.
- 13:43Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was calm down and then when I realized the roache is like right there and they can like drum drop on me, I'm like, all right.
- 13:50Speaker View & Screen Share: It's okay if it drops on me, like I'm not going to die.
- 13:53Speaker View & Screen Share: It'll be a little gross, but I have to stay, I have to stay calm so that I drive this car properly and I don't get us injured, right?
- 14:02Speaker View & Screen Share: So it's crawling around and my daughter is freaking out and now it's crawling back to her and, and it's going all the way back and then it crawls back into the trunk, right?
- 14:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And so now she's crying.
- 14:14Speaker View & Screen Share: She's all like in a whole different state.
- 14:17Speaker View & Screen Share: And for me, you know, once you start to like, uh, because anxiety helped me to have this emotional intelligence, and once you start to meditate, you start separating yourself from your feelings and your thoughts, you start to realize that like, this is what I need to teach my kids because this is going to help them to have so much of a better life if they learn to have this emotional intelligence, if they learn how to be in charge of themselves and not let emotions take them over.
- 14:44Speaker View & Screen Share: So for me, this is an opportunity.
- 14:47Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm like, she is terrified right now.
- 14:49Speaker View & Screen Share: She's crying.
- 14:50Speaker View & Screen Share: This is a great opportunity for me to, to help her.
- 14:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And so she's nine.
- 14:54Speaker View & Screen Share: I've been doing this since she can speak.
- 14:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Same thing with my son who's 16.
- 14:57Speaker View & Screen Share: So they kind of know what we're gonna go through.
- 15:00Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'm like, okay, first of all, calm down.
- 15:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Let's calm down.
- 15:03Speaker View & Screen Share: Let's start breathing and relaxing.
- 15:05Speaker View & Screen Share: They know how to breathe and relax.
- 15:06Speaker View & Screen Share: So we're, and she's crying.
- 15:11Speaker View & Screen Share: She's crying this tears, and she's trying to breathe as much as possible.
- 15:14Speaker View & Screen Share: So after a couple minutes of breathing and relaxing and she calms down enough, then I start talking to her.
- 15:20Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, a lot of times, you know, parents, they're trying to talk to their kids when they're like angry or they're scared or something like that.
- 15:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And the same thing with ourselves.
- 15:29Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, you're not gonna get anything to go into subconscious.
- 15:33Speaker View & Screen Share: You're not gonna be able to reason until you calm down.
- 15:35Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 15:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And so once we get her to calm down, now, I asked her, I said.
- 15:39Speaker View & Screen Share: Okay.
- 15:40Speaker View & Screen Share: What did you think about what was going on?
- 15:43Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, when you saw the roach and she was like, well, I thought that it was gross and it might jump on me.
- 15:50Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I was like, okay.
- 15:51Speaker View & Screen Share: So now thinking those type of thoughts, that this is gross and this is gonna jump on you, how is that gonna make you feel?
- 15:58Speaker View & Screen Share: And she said, oh, it's gonna make me scared.
- 16:00Speaker View & Screen Share: I said, exactly.
- 16:01Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, and so I was like, so what made you scared?
- 16:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Was it the bug or was it that the bug jumped on you?
- 16:07Speaker View & Screen Share: That, that, that the, uh, was it the bug actually being present or your story about the bug?
- 16:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And she was like, it's the story about the bug.
- 16:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, exactly.
- 16:16Speaker View & Screen Share: So if we change the story about the bug, would you, did your feelings change about the story?
- 16:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And she's like, yeah, and this is only she's saying, yeah.
- 16:24Speaker View & Screen Share: And things like,'cause we've done this hundreds of times over the years.
- 16:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 16:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And so then I can't remember, do you remember what I changed the story to?
- 16:31Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause I told you when it was fresh, I.
- 16:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, I think you changed it to something like, um, you, you, I know the lesson you taught her was, it's just my thoughts about the bug.
- 16:43Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 16:43Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just the bug.
- 16:44Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not, it's not the bug itself.
- 16:47Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, it's just my thoughts about it.
- 16:48Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not jumping on me, it's not getting me.
- 16:51Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'm just, I'm making this story up in my head.
- 16:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Yes, yes.
- 16:56Speaker View & Screen Share: And I told, and I always help with, to make a story.
- 16:58Speaker View & Screen Share: So I, I can't remember exactly the story, but maybe let's say the story was something like, you know, um, what if you had a dream and you dreamed that when, uh, a big roach was in the car with you and your dad, and if that roach jumped on you, that you would get all the toys you've ever wanted, like that day, you know, and then she started laughing.
- 17:18Speaker View & Screen Share: It was something like that.
- 17:19Speaker View & Screen Share: And she started laughing and I was like, exactly.
- 17:21Speaker View & Screen Share: You see.
- 17:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, you'd still be a little bit like, uh, but you'd be more excited, right?
- 17:26Speaker View & Screen Share: And she's like, yes, because you have a whole different story in your head.
- 17:29Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was telling you like, it's always a story and that's what I, I try to, that's what I do with my kids all the time.
- 17:35Speaker View & Screen Share: Every time they have something, we go through that entire process.
- 17:38Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause I always want them to know that your body is only reacting to the story in your head.
- 17:44Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not reacting to circumstances.
- 17:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Circum one person, it's raining, it's bad luck.
- 17:49Speaker View & Screen Share: Another person is raining and it's good luck because it's, you know, it's their farm needed it, you know, but, so it's, it's always your story and it's not the circumstances.
- 17:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Ooh.
- 17:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Yes.
- 18:00Speaker View & Screen Share: It's always the story, the always the story.
- 18:03Speaker View & Screen Share: And the thing is, it's identifying that you're actually telling a story because we fall unconscious and we don't even know we're telling a story.
- 18:12Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 18:12Speaker View & Screen Share: And for my trans surfing audience, I wanna point out that what he is talking about here is the pendulum in reality, trans surfing.
- 18:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And the pendulum only wants your energy.
- 18:24Speaker View & Screen Share: So, uh, dissatisfaction and lack of fulfillment are the pendulum's favorite dishes.
- 18:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And remember how he mentioned discouragement, or I'm scared, or I'm afraid, but let me go back to the very beginning of that.
- 18:40Speaker View & Screen Share: We've gotta identify the story so we know what's making our body go like.
- 18:45Speaker View & Screen Share: Into this crazy thing.
- 18:47Speaker View & Screen Share: But when you identify the story, then you can break it down and go, okay, this is just a story, it's just my thoughts about the story.
- 18:54Speaker View & Screen Share: I can change it.
- 18:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Mm-hmm.
- 18:55Speaker View & Screen Share: And one of the greatest ways to stop a pendulum from swaying is to laugh and have a good time.
- 19:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And feel good and feel good.
- 19:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Feeling good will help you, um, help you, uh, come up with solutions to whatever you're going through.
- 19:12Speaker View & Screen Share: So the first thing before we tell the other story, I'm gonna talk about, I want you to teach us floating and what is it and why it helps and why knowing the story will help you go get into floating easily.
- 19:28Speaker View & Screen Share: Well, Dr.
- 19:29Speaker View & Screen Share: Claire Weeks, um, when I was going through like the, the worst anxieties, like, it's terrible.
- 19:34Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, agoraphobia.
- 19:35Speaker View & Screen Share: I couldn't even leave the house.
- 19:36Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, I, I remember there was a moment that I just was like, I can't live like this anymore, you know?
- 19:42Speaker View & Screen Share: And at that moment when I was like, I can't live like this anymore.
- 19:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, I could hear it, it's like a voice, but it wasn't a voice.
- 19:48Speaker View & Screen Share: It was just like a knowing.
- 19:49Speaker View & Screen Share: And it was said, and this is before my spiritual journey, so I didn't know anything.
- 19:53Speaker View & Screen Share: I just, I was a person that always followed my gut, but I wasn't like a spiritual person.
- 19:58Speaker View & Screen Share: And I, and it said, if you can be this bad, think of how good you can be.
- 20:04Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, there's always another end of the spectrum.
- 20:06Speaker View & Screen Share: So we're saying like, you're the other, the, the bottom of the barrel right now when it comes to peace and there's a whole nother level, uh, like, and you can go all the way to this side.
- 20:16Speaker View & Screen Share: And so as soon as that.
- 20:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Message came to me.
- 20:18Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna find out to get there.
- 20:21Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm gonna figure that out.
- 20:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And I just went and started buying books.
- 20:24Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, I started researching books and learning about anxiety.
- 20:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And this one book, I can't remember how it happened, but it was synchronistic.
- 20:31Speaker View & Screen Share: Like it just came outta nowhere seemingly.
- 20:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And it's from Dr.
- 20:35Speaker View & Screen Share: Clear Weeks and it was, um, you know, you know it'cause you bought it.
- 20:40Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker View & Screen Share: I'll have a link to it in the show notes and description below because I know I have the book too.
- 20:45Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 20:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 20:46Speaker View & Screen Share: And, and the other book that you told me, the dare book, he talks about Dr.
- 20:51Speaker View & Screen Share: Claire weeks and floating in it as well.
- 20:54Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah, I'll have links to both of those in the show notes and description below.
- 20:57Speaker View & Screen Share: So, yeah, so yeah,'cause this was like 16 years ago, but when I, um, when I read that book from, uh, Dr.
- 21:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Claire weeks, it helped me to like heal myself.
- 21:08Speaker View & Screen Share: And one of the things she talks about in there is floating and floating is basically allowing, like if you ever read another good book.
- 21:15Speaker View & Screen Share: To kind of help you with floating would be the Sedona Method.
- 21:19Speaker View & Screen Share: And Sedona Method doesn't call it floating, but what they do is they welcome the feeling.
- 21:23Speaker View & Screen Share: So, and they have a little, they have a little affirmation to welcoming the feeling and then allowing the feeling to pass.
- 21:30Speaker View & Screen Share: And so when you're floating, all you're doing is no longer resisting.
- 21:34Speaker View & Screen Share: Whatever you resist persists.
- 21:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you have anxieties, you wanna resist it.
- 21:39Speaker View & Screen Share: When you resist it, it gets worse.
- 21:41Speaker View & Screen Share: When you try and run from it, it gets worse.
- 21:43Speaker View & Screen Share: So what you have to do is allow it.
- 21:46Speaker View & Screen Share: And so floating is allowing when you stop and you breathe, just relax.
- 21:53Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, deep belly breaths, don't breathe in your chest.
- 21:55Speaker View & Screen Share: That creates more stress.
- 21:56Speaker View & Screen Share: You breathe deeply into your gut and you relax it, and that's it.
- 22:01Speaker View & Screen Share: You just basically breathe in and relax in your muscles.
- 22:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Like you, most of us are holding ourselves like this all the time.
- 22:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And then you can just relax your shoulders, relax your jaw, and just let it come.
- 22:13Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, let it come, let it do whatever it's gonna do.
- 22:17Speaker View & Screen Share: It always passes.
- 22:18Speaker View & Screen Share: Anybody that has suffered with anxiety knows that no matter how bad it is, it always passes.
- 22:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And so your goal is not to make it go away,'cause it's gonna go away in its own.
- 22:28Speaker View & Screen Share: But when you float, what you're really doing is just relaxing.
- 22:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And you may not feel relaxed, but you are being relaxed.
- 22:35Speaker View & Screen Share: That's the most important thing because being, whatever you are, being, you are going to get whatever you are experiencing is from your pathways of being, right?
- 22:46Speaker View & Screen Share: So if you are being anxious in the past, you are experiencing anxiety now and it has momentum.
- 22:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And as you start to decide to be a different person, and that's what anxiety taught me.
- 22:58Speaker View & Screen Share: It taught me how to be a peaceful person.
- 23:00Speaker View & Screen Share: Because at first when I started to do this, I didn't know what a peaceful person thought like.
- 23:05Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, I really didn't.
- 23:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And that's what all that research did.
- 23:08Speaker View & Screen Share: It helped me to think like, what peaceful,'cause you know, affirmations are just self-talk, you know, or self-talk is just affirmations that you're saying inside your head.
- 23:18Speaker View & Screen Share: So I didn't have a whole bunch of peaceful self-talk, you know, I had anxious self-talk, like, I gotta do this.
- 23:24Speaker View & Screen Share: What am I doing?
- 23:25Speaker View & Screen Share: How am I gonna get this done?
- 23:26Speaker View & Screen Share: No worries, lots of worries.
- 23:27Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, lots of trying to figure things out.
- 23:30Speaker View & Screen Share: Lots of trying to figure things out for hours and days, and just thinking the same thing over and over again.
- 23:35Speaker View & Screen Share: Those that's, that's, that's anxious thoughts.
- 23:38Speaker View & Screen Share: That's anxious ways of being.
- 23:40Speaker View & Screen Share: So when I learned how to be at peace and when I learned how to find my answers in peace and I started being peace, even when I was anxious, what I was doing was I was no longer fueling the anxiety cycle.
- 23:54Speaker View & Screen Share: So now I'm being peace and I'm anxious and that's okay.
- 23:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And as I keep being peace, even though I'm anxious.
- 24:01Speaker View & Screen Share: Eventually the anxiety starts l lessening and lessening and lessening and eventually it goes away.
- 24:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And then you'll be like, oh my God, I haven't felt anxious in so long.
- 24:10Speaker View & Screen Share: And then you feel anxious again'cause you haven't felt anxious.
- 24:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And then you just relax into that'cause that's okay too.
- 24:17Speaker View & Screen Share: And then eventually you don't have to deal with it anymore and you'll always have anxiety, but it won't be this big anxiety that's taken over your life.
- 24:24Speaker View & Screen Share: Everybody feels everything everybody has.
- 24:27Speaker View & Screen Share: I just saw something where they said, the Dalai Lama says that he feels anxiety, he feels sadness, he feels anger.
- 24:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Everybody always feels emotions.
- 24:35Speaker View & Screen Share: There's nothing wrong with negative emotions.
- 24:37Speaker View & Screen Share: The problem is what is when you let negative emotions take you over, when you identify with them and you, when you start being anger, when you start being anxiety, that's a problem.
- 24:48Speaker View & Screen Share: If you are experiencing, if you are experiencing anger, if you are experiencing anxiety, but you are being peace, that's okay because it's not taking you over.
- 24:58Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just a natural thing that happens in life.
- 25:00Speaker View & Screen Share: It's gonna come up and then eventually it's gonna fade away.
- 25:04Speaker View & Screen Share: That's right.
- 25:05Speaker View & Screen Share: That's right.
- 25:05Speaker View & Screen Share: And I love that because what you're being is where it comes from and Yeah.
- 25:10Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, anxiety doesn't go away.
- 25:13Speaker View & Screen Share: You still have it.
- 25:14Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And, but it's the story you tell, so you catch yourself off.
- 25:20Speaker View & Screen Share: This is a story, start to float.
- 25:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Mm-hmm.
- 25:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And really what helps me is I just go, okay, this story is just, I'm scaring myself.
- 25:29Speaker View & Screen Share: Yes.
- 25:29Speaker View & Screen Share: You get scared of the scared of the scared of the scared, and then you spiral and the floating helps you stop.
- 25:36Speaker View & Screen Share: So I wanna hear the other story.
- 25:38Speaker View & Screen Share: I wanna hear you tell it about your tire blowing out on the Oh, oh, yeah.
- 25:44Speaker View & Screen Share: That's a, that's one of my favorite stories because.
- 25:47Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, I didn't realize how much anxiety money was giving me.
- 25:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, um, there was a, it was a, it started like a few, uh, few weeks before that because what I was meditating on the beach and when I was meditating on the beach, this, uh, message came to me and it said, um, and that was such a great meditation.
- 26:07Speaker View & Screen Share: I never told you, but it was like I was just filled with joy.
- 26:11Speaker View & Screen Share: Like I was sitting on the beach, it was sunny, blue skies, the sun was right on me.
- 26:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I was sitting close to the, to the waters, to the water was lapping up on me.
- 26:19Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was sitting yoga style, and I was just like, in bliss.
- 26:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And, and I wasn't always feeling that,'cause I, I wasn't going to the beach regularly in the morning at that time yet.
- 26:28Speaker View & Screen Share: I just started.
- 26:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And I just was like, this feels so amazing.
- 26:32Speaker View & Screen Share: I was just filled with joy.
- 26:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And then this message came to me and it said, um, man shall not eat by bread alone.
- 26:37Speaker View & Screen Share: And I grew up Christian, so that, like, I, that rang a bell and I was like, I know that's from the Bible.
- 26:43Speaker View & Screen Share: Let me go look it up.
- 26:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And when I looked it up.
- 26:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Basically what it, it was saying to me what I interpreted it as.
- 26:49Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause I, I used to interpret dreams too.
- 26:51Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't know if, if I ever told you that, but so, um, I started interpreting it like I interpret a dream.
- 26:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And so as I interpreted, what I felt like it was telling me is that, that, um, in that situation I was treating God, I was treating money as God, you know, man shall not live on bread alone by, by every word that come from the Lord's mouth or something like that, right?
- 27:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And so it was telling me to start to listen to God, put God first.
- 27:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Listen to your intuition.
- 27:18Speaker View & Screen Share: Stop listening to money, you know?
- 27:20Speaker View & Screen Share: And so all the money worries I had was me trying to figure things out by whatever I had in my bank account and whatever money I thought I could, could or couldn't make, you know?
- 27:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And so it was just like, give this to God and instead just trust God when you have money problems, go to God first.
- 27:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Don't try and figure out what, what you have in your account or how to make money go to God first.
- 27:42Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was like, okay, that sounds great.
- 27:44Speaker View & Screen Share: So I got tested really quickly.
- 27:47Speaker View & Screen Share: So, so I'm driving off to, uh, to the office to meet a friend or something like that.
- 27:54Speaker View & Screen Share: And as I'm going, my tire gets flat, right?
- 27:58Speaker View & Screen Share: I tire flat and I pull over to the side and I'm like, oh my God.
- 28:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, what am I gonna do?
- 28:03Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause I have no money in my account, right?
- 28:05Speaker View & Screen Share: I have no money in my account.
- 28:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I start to have these things go through my head, like all the board, like, what am I going to do?
- 28:12Speaker View & Screen Share: I have no money.
- 28:14Speaker View & Screen Share: I, I can't tow the car.
- 28:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I, how am I gonna replace the tire?
- 28:17Speaker View & Screen Share: No, I was supposed to have an appointment.
- 28:19Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, all these things started going on.
- 28:20Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, Nope, man.
- 28:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Shall not live on bread alone, right?
- 28:24Speaker View & Screen Share: So let's wait, let's see what happens, right?
- 28:27Speaker View & Screen Share: So instead I sit in the car and I'm floating now, right?
- 28:30Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm floating and I'm just allowing this anxiety about money to come up and just, it's talking, it's trying to hook me.
- 28:38Speaker View & Screen Share: It's saying all types of like, what are you doing?
- 28:40Speaker View & Screen Share: How's this helping you?
- 28:40Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, like all these things, you know.
- 28:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm just like, Nope, you can say whatever you want.
- 28:47Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm just allowing you to come up and go.
- 28:49Speaker View & Screen Share: And as it's coming up, and again, it starts to get quieter and quieter, and then I get an idea.
- 28:55Speaker View & Screen Share: And the idea is to call Tesla and find out if they can tow my car.
- 29:00Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 29:01Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause it's, it's still a, it's still what's under 50,000 miles, you know, if they can tow a car and how much it's gonna cost.
- 29:07Speaker View & Screen Share: So then I called them.
- 29:09Speaker View & Screen Share: And, uh, and I'm like, Hey, you know, my car is down.
- 29:12Speaker View & Screen Share: I need a tire thing.
- 29:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And he's like, yeah, we can, uh, tow your car for free up to a certain amount of miles.
- 29:17Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was like, all right, well, that's great.
- 29:19Speaker View & Screen Share: That's one thing down, right?
- 29:20Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't need money for that.
- 29:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And then he's like, and for the tire, it's gonna be something like$1,200.
- 29:25Speaker View & Screen Share: It was something like, I was like$1,200.
- 29:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, I was like, all right, the anxiety comes back up.
- 29:32Speaker View & Screen Share: And it was like, see, what are you gonna do?
- 29:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Blah, blah, blah.
- 29:34Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, all right, uh, I'll let you know what I wanna do.
- 29:37Speaker View & Screen Share: And he's like, all right.
- 29:38Speaker View & Screen Share: And I hang up.
- 29:39Speaker View & Screen Share: And now the anxiety's like, what you, how are you gonna do this?
- 29:41Speaker View & Screen Share: $1,200?
- 29:42Speaker View & Screen Share: You don't have any?
- 29:43Speaker View & Screen Share: And I just was like, Nope, man.
- 29:45Speaker View & Screen Share: Shall not live in bread alone.
- 29:47Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm going to God, right?
- 29:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I sit again and I float and I relax.
- 29:54Speaker View & Screen Share: And then another idea comes to me, which is a, a a a Christian tire shop that I used in the past.
- 30:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And I know they have good rates and stuff like that, so I called them.
- 30:03Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause you know, you always have to replace two tires, even though one popped you, you can't replace one, you always have to replace two.
- 30:09Speaker View & Screen Share: So I called them and I say, Hey, you know what happened or how much his tires can be, and it saved$400.
- 30:16Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, okay, that's much better.
- 30:17Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 30:18Speaker View & Screen Share: But now my thoughts are still like, well, what you gonna do with, you don't even have a$2, so how you gonna do this?
- 30:23Speaker View & Screen Share: Right?
- 30:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I'm like, all right.
- 30:26Speaker View & Screen Share: I, I know I can tow it for free from Tesla to the, to the place, to the, uh, tire shop, and it's only 400 as opposed to$1,200.
- 30:34Speaker View & Screen Share: What am I gonna do?
- 30:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And, you know, there's things I can do, like I can call somebody and ask them to borrow money or something like that, but I never do anything like that unless it's inspired, because if I do that, that's because I'm, I'm in fear and I think that this is the only way I can be provided for, right?
- 30:51Speaker View & Screen Share: So, again, the anxiety's coming up, I don't know what to do, and I just sit there and I float again, and I'm floating.
- 30:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And over this whole process is probably like a hour that all of this is happening, right?
- 31:01Speaker View & Screen Share: And I float again.
- 31:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And once I'm floating, then another answer comes to me.
- 31:05Speaker View & Screen Share: And, and the another thing I wanna say is that I'm never trying to get an answer.
- 31:09Speaker View & Screen Share: All I'm doing is relaxing.
- 31:12Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, God, what, what do I need to do next?
- 31:15Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I let that go.
- 31:16Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, I relax.
- 31:18Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm not like, God, what?
- 31:19Speaker View & Screen Share: What's the answer?
- 31:20Speaker View & Screen Share: What?
- 31:20Speaker View & Screen Share: Why don't you tell me?
- 31:21Speaker View & Screen Share: No, that's not relaxing.
- 31:23Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, what do I need to do next?
- 31:24Speaker View & Screen Share: God, I'm listening, and I relax, and that's it.
- 31:29Speaker View & Screen Share: There's no more talking.
- 31:30Speaker View & Screen Share: The anxiety is coming up, the thoughts is coming up, and I don't give into them.
- 31:33Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm just breathing, relaxing, and relaxing my body.
- 31:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And then another idea comes up for an idea to do some kind of sale for my business, my online business that I've never done before.
- 31:45Speaker View & Screen Share: And the sale would've made me a a max of$800 if everybody bought it right.
- 31:52Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I was like, okay.
- 31:53Speaker View & Screen Share: And I did it on my phone.
- 31:54Speaker View & Screen Share: It was really quick, did it on my phone, something I've never tried before on my phone.
- 31:59Speaker View & Screen Share: And within five minutes I get a sale for like$450.
- 32:04Speaker View & Screen Share: It's something like, it was crazy.
- 32:05Speaker View & Screen Share: It was like a little bit more than I needed.
- 32:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, oh my God.
- 32:11Speaker View & Screen Share: Just like that.
- 32:12Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I called the Tesla.
- 32:14Speaker View & Screen Share: I said, Hey, can you tow it to this place, not to you tow it to the tire place.
- 32:18Speaker View & Screen Share: And I called the tire place and say, Hey, the car is coming.
- 32:20Speaker View & Screen Share: And like, great.
- 32:21Speaker View & Screen Share: I had not only enough money to pay for both of those tires, I had enough money to pay for Uber to pick me up later to get to go get the car.
- 32:30Speaker View & Screen Share: And that walk home, nobody could say anything to me.
- 32:33Speaker View & Screen Share: I was on top of the world.
- 32:34Speaker View & Screen Share: I was totally in the present moment.
- 32:37Speaker View & Screen Share: I saw the birds chirping.
- 32:38Speaker View & Screen Share: It was like a mile and a half walk home.
- 32:40Speaker View & Screen Share: After the tow truck picked up the car.
- 32:42Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, birds were chirping.
- 32:43Speaker View & Screen Share: The sun was beautiful.
- 32:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And I just was enjoying every moment of everything.
- 32:47Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause I was like, I can trust God.
- 32:49Speaker View & Screen Share: Like it was so, it was such like.
- 32:52Speaker View & Screen Share: After that message I got at the beach, it was so like, this is obviously what just happened, you know?
- 32:58Speaker View & Screen Share: And it was like, I can actually trust God.
- 32:59Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't have to trust my anxious thoughts to help me to survive.
- 33:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Whoa.
- 33:05Speaker View & Screen Share: I love that.
- 33:06Speaker View & Screen Share: I love that in that I go back to that story so many times.
- 33:10Speaker View & Screen Share: It's like that's where the magic happens.
- 33:12Speaker View & Screen Share: And I love how he said, I don't demand an answer.
- 33:16Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker View & Screen Share: I start floating because it's gonna feel like you wanna demand an answer.
- 33:20Speaker View & Screen Share: Please, please give me out of this.
- 33:22Speaker View & Screen Share: But you start floating and then you let the answer come and notice how he didn't go with the first answer.
- 33:29Speaker View & Screen Share: It was more like guiding him towards the way.
- 33:32Speaker View & Screen Share: And, and, and here's another thing I wanna add, is that storytelling really helps us.
- 33:40Speaker View & Screen Share: Put ourselves in that situation.
- 33:42Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause we can all relate to that on, in some way, shape, or form.
- 33:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 33:46Speaker View & Screen Share: And we've all been there.
- 33:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And so it, what happens with me and with my coaching with Mark is I'll take his stories and I'll remember them and I will use them on myself if I start find myself telling a story.
- 34:01Speaker View & Screen Share: And here's one that is super powerful and um, I really wanna hit home on this because Mark's been coaching on anxiety for a while and he had a client who had really bad anxiety and something happened to her brother and she was able to handle that with zero anxiety.
- 34:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm not gonna tell you the details because I want Mark to tell you.
- 34:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker View & Screen Share: Also I wanted to tell you,'cause this came up, so I was like, maybe this is important to share, but I wanna tell your viewers like.
- 34:35Speaker View & Screen Share: If I had listened to anxiety with that tire story, this is what anxiety told me to do.
- 34:40Speaker View & Screen Share: Anxiety told me to drive the car with a flat home'cause I was only like a mile and a half from home and park it in the garage and ask somebody for money.
- 34:50Speaker View & Screen Share: So this would've been the, if I didn't sit and wait and float and relax and have that wonderful outcome, what would I probably would've did is destroy my rim, maybe even get into another accident, and then stress out and ask people to borrow money and feel ashamed and all kinds of, and this is what anxiety does when you, when you follow it, it just makes everything worse.
- 35:11Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 35:12Speaker View & Screen Share: So I just wanted to throw that in there.
- 35:14Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause that just came up for me.
- 35:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, you know, you have to see the difference between what anxiety will tell you to do and what God will tell you to do.
- 35:21Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, and that's why I could walk home feeling on top of the world because I, I, I, I, I took the guidance of abundance and love instead of anxiety and fear, you know.
- 35:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker View & Screen Share: I love that.
- 35:35Speaker View & Screen Share: It just makes me feel better in the moment and, um, I hope it, it resonates with you.
- 35:42Speaker View & Screen Share: I, I trust it resonates with you as well as, as the viewers.
- 35:46Speaker View & Screen Share: So tell us about your client.
- 35:49Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, what happened with her and her brother?
- 35:52Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah, so I had this client, and I'll tell you from, uh, how she started because it's important to the story because she, I had another person that I helped with anxiety, and then she, uh, this is like a family friend that was going through anxiety too.
- 36:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And she said, you know, mark, to help me, she can, he can help you too.
- 36:10Speaker View & Screen Share: So I started, the first day I called, I remember she had just.
- 36:15Speaker View & Screen Share: Quit school, college because her anxieties were so bad that she felt like she couldn't continue in college.
- 36:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And um, and I was talking to her and telling her, you know, that I had anxieties too and you know, and I can help her.
- 36:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And, you know, I know that she doesn't feel like she's a normal person and know,'cause you know, when you're anxiety, a lot of times you look at other people and you're like, I just wanna be normal like that again.
- 36:39Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 36:40Speaker View & Screen Share: And I knew she wanted, she wanted that.
- 36:42Speaker View & Screen Share: And I would say that.
- 36:43Speaker View & Screen Share: And at the end of the conversation she said, you know, the way you speak, I.
- 36:48Speaker View & Screen Share: You feel so happy and you have all this peace.
- 36:51Speaker View & Screen Share: And I would can never believe that you can, you can have more anxiety than even I have right now from your story.
- 36:58Speaker View & Screen Share: The only reason I even believe you is because you're saying things that only an anxious person would know.
- 37:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Like saying like, I wanna be normal again.
- 37:04Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 37:05Speaker View & Screen Share: And she's like, that's the only reason.
- 37:07Speaker View & Screen Share: But other than that, I would think you're full of it.
- 37:09Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 37:11Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, and even talking about anxiety, she's like, you can talk about anxiety and this.
- 37:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, yeah.
- 37:16Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, so I was like, and you will be able to too if you just do the work that I, I give you to do.
- 37:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And so she was like, okay.
- 37:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And so she was really good.
- 37:25Speaker View & Screen Share: She was really diligent, just like Kathy is like, she does the work, you know?
- 37:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And like, and no matter what I told her to do, she was always doing, she's very, very consistent.
- 37:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, uh, this is months has passed and she calls me and I'm not even speaking to her that much anymore because she's just so much better.
- 37:41Speaker View & Screen Share: Right?
- 37:42Speaker View & Screen Share: And, um, one day she calls me and she's like, mark.
- 37:45Speaker View & Screen Share: I gotta tell you a story.
- 37:46Speaker View & Screen Share: She's like, I was at the club with my brother, you know, and some friends and they're in New York and, and um, somebody was shooting in the club and they shot my brother by mistake and my brother is shot and everybody's freaking out.
- 38:01Speaker View & Screen Share: There's like stamping people running out and I am there calming everybody else down.
- 38:06Speaker View & Screen Share: And she was like, I was calming everybody else down, mark.
- 38:11Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, wow.
- 38:13Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, do you see?
- 38:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And she's like, that's Incr.
- 38:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I can't believe that I was the one calming everybody down.
- 38:18Speaker View & Screen Share: The one that's supposed to have the anxieties.
- 38:21Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm the one that's calming everybody down.
- 38:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And I told Larry, I said, that's because it's never about the situation.
- 38:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And this was a huge, huge, like showing of that, that it had nothing to do with the circumstance and it has to do with who you are being.
- 38:36Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 38:37Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not about what's happening to you, it's who you're being during the circumstance.
- 38:42Speaker View & Screen Share: And because she has been training to be peace and allow things to come through her and pass and to think like through a lens of peace and centeredness, since she's been learned, taught that for months and weeks and things like that.
- 38:55Speaker View & Screen Share: When she had the opportunity to do this, it was already embedded in her.
- 39:00Speaker View & Screen Share: It was already habitualize.
- 39:01Speaker View & Screen Share: She didn't even have to think about it.
- 39:03Speaker View & Screen Share: She knew she got in the present moment, she probably was breathing and relaxing.
- 39:06Speaker View & Screen Share: She probably was saying affirmations like, I can handle this.
- 39:09Speaker View & Screen Share: I can handle this.
- 39:10Speaker View & Screen Share: You'll be okay.
- 39:11Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, and then those, those affirmations probably was externalized to the people around her because now she is being peace.
- 39:18Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 39:18Speaker View & Screen Share: And so when you are being peace, you, you reduce anxiety within yourself and in your circumstances because you are the person that's taken everything and filtering it through calmness.
- 39:30Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, you're just like, calm everything down, right?
- 39:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Because this is who you are.
- 39:34Speaker View & Screen Share: But when you're anxiety, it doesn't matter how small the thing is, you will blow everything up'cause you're taking everything and you, you're filtering it through anxiety and you turn, you're turning, uh, molehills into mountains now, you know?
- 39:46Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, and, and even in the end of, there's even something that I think is really beautiful with her story too.
- 39:52Speaker View & Screen Share: Not only that,'cause she was so proud of that, but I called her like a couple years after, you know, we stopped coaching just to check up on her.
- 40:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And she had casually said to me, uh, she's like, oh yeah, I just graduated from, uh, college, you know, I.
- 40:08Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, last month or something like that.
- 40:10Speaker View & Screen Share: And she said, and she's like, oh, and I have a baby on the way.
- 40:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And like I started like tearing up, like I started like getting emotional and she wasn't emotional at all.
- 40:19Speaker View & Screen Share: But she doesn't remember the first conversation we ever had was her saying she left college because of anxiety and she couldn't do it anymore.
- 40:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And I didn't even know she went back to college.
- 40:29Speaker View & Screen Share: I didn't know this part, you know.
- 40:30Speaker View & Screen Share: And so now that she was Grant and now like it feel like God was telling me like, this is what can happen when you help people.
- 40:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Like she, you changed the whole trajectory of her life because of what you went through.
- 40:42Speaker View & Screen Share: Because you were able to heal yourself and then you shared it with somebody else.
- 40:46Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 40:47Speaker View & Screen Share: So that's that story that, and that last time I spoke to her really helped me to continue with my coaching.
- 40:53Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause it felt like more of a responsibility now.
- 40:55Speaker View & Screen Share: And just instead of just something I was doing for money, you know.
- 41:00Speaker View & Screen Share: I absolutely love that.
- 41:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And that is the truth.
- 41:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Hands down, that works.
- 41:06Speaker View & Screen Share: And so my journey with Mark, he's in my mastermind, in the flow-based Prosperity MAs mastermind.
- 41:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And I would hear him talking about his journey with anxiety and I'm like, oh my God, that's me.
- 41:19Speaker View & Screen Share: I know he knows what he's talking about.
- 41:22Speaker View & Screen Share: I ha I, my anxiety was off the charts, even though everything in my life is like really, really great and things are fine and everything, you know, it just seems like it.
- 41:32Speaker View & Screen Share: But what happened was the neural pathways were just like so ingrained in my head that I had to rewrite my stories.
- 41:42Speaker View & Screen Share: I had to start floating.
- 41:44Speaker View & Screen Share: I had to start re, I had to start healing from anxiety.
- 41:48Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause it's like, and I did a video on this not too long ago.
- 41:52Speaker View & Screen Share: It's like my body became addicted to anxiety and just.
- 41:57Speaker View & Screen Share: In a state of anxiety all the time.
- 41:59Speaker View & Screen Share: I didn't realize it, and now that I'm healing from it, I, I'm like, oh wow, this feels so much better and I can remain in peace despite the things that are going on around me.
- 42:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm also starting to see that my peace.
- 42:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Is starting to affect everybody else in my world, even if I don't even say anything.
- 42:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 42:23Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't even have to say anything.
- 42:24Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just a mere presence that goes on, and it is the presence of God and it is the presence that is, it's the, it's the most powerful presence and it's the peace that passive all understanding, all understanding.
- 42:40Speaker View & Screen Share: It's definitely that because anxiety is it, it it, it is the teacher.
- 42:47Speaker View & Screen Share: It's not mine, it's the teacher and it's guiding you to the truth, which is where the peace that passes all understanding comes from.
- 42:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm.
- 42:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Feeling that and I've it, uh, that's amazing.
- 43:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 43:03Speaker View & Screen Share: Did I tell you this, that story, the piece that passed it all in the standing?
- 43:06Speaker View & Screen Share: No.
- 43:06Speaker View & Screen Share: And I can't wait to hear it.
- 43:09Speaker View & Screen Share: Oh my God.
- 43:10Speaker View & Screen Share: I guess you just, it triggered the story.
- 43:12Speaker View & Screen Share: I thought I told you about that.
- 43:15Speaker View & Screen Share: So when I was having anxiety, you know, I, I had this thought that kept coming to me, that peace that passed, all understanding, the peace that passed, all understanding.
- 43:26Speaker View & Screen Share: And that kept coming to me, right?
- 43:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, what is that?
- 43:30Speaker View & Screen Share: Like how do I get that?
- 43:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And I started reading the Bible, the piece that passed all understanding.
- 43:34Speaker View & Screen Share: And I started like really like wondering what is the piece that passed it all understanding.
- 43:39Speaker View & Screen Share: And then one day I'll scroll on the internet.
- 43:41Speaker View & Screen Share: And I saw an ad for tm, which is transcendental meditation.
- 43:44Speaker View & Screen Share: That's the meditation that Oprah does.
- 43:46Speaker View & Screen Share: How it stern does Arnold Schwarzenegger, like all these celebrities and CEOs.
- 43:50Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, uh, and so, and it said that there's a, um, scholarship, right?
- 43:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Because I had no money.
- 43:56Speaker View & Screen Share: And so it's like there's a scholarship that you can fill out.
- 43:59Speaker View & Screen Share: So every TM center, there's TM centers in different cities all over, all over the world.
- 44:05Speaker View & Screen Share: And so there was one in my county too.
- 44:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I fill out this thing for a scholarship.
- 44:09Speaker View & Screen Share: I went to go see them, uh, go, go to it, and they, they approved me to pay for the whole thing, which was very rare.
- 44:16Speaker View & Screen Share: Usually they pay it for a little bit, but they paid for the whole thing.
- 44:19Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, thank you.
- 44:20Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was so grateful.
- 44:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And then we went through the training for how to do this meditation, and over the couple days we're doing this meditation.
- 44:28Speaker View & Screen Share: And then one day I'm sitting there and I'm doing this meditation.
- 44:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And, and I feel this is the first time this I felt the separateness.
- 44:36Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'm sitting in meditation doing tm, and then I can feel the anxiety starting to come up, you know?
- 44:41Speaker View & Screen Share: And the panic starting to come up.
- 44:43Speaker View & Screen Share: And I stay in meditation doing the TM technique, and then I can feel it, and then it finally passes.
- 44:51Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was like, and like the whole thing didn't pass.
- 44:54Speaker View & Screen Share: But you know, like the, like I tell you, the edge comes off, right?
- 44:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And I didn't feel as anxious anymore.
- 44:59Speaker View & Screen Share: And I felt like I got operate again.
- 45:01Speaker View & Screen Share: And then I opened my eyes and I'm like, oh my God.
- 45:05Speaker View & Screen Share: The peace beyond understanding.
- 45:07Speaker View & Screen Share: That's what it is.
- 45:08Speaker View & Screen Share: It is literally the, the secret is in the words, it's the peace beyond understanding.
- 45:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And before that moment, I used to try to understand my way to peace.
- 45:19Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, so I'm anxious about money.
- 45:21Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm like, well, you know, I'm gonna, a check is coming and, you know, and, and maybe I can sell something like that.
- 45:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And, you know, it'll be, it'll be okay.
- 45:29Speaker View & Screen Share: It'll be okay.
- 45:30Speaker View & Screen Share: Or, you know, somebody's sick.
- 45:32Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'll just be like, you know, well, you know, we do, we will go to the doctor and we'll get these drugs.
- 45:36Speaker View & Screen Share: And I was always trying to understand my way into feeling better, you know, and when I sat there in meditation and I felt the anxiety come up and I didn't get involved in it, and I just allowed it to be there, and then it eventually dissipated.
- 45:50Speaker View & Screen Share: I realized in that moment, the peace beyond understanding is not trying to understand your way into peace.
- 45:57Speaker View & Screen Share: It is just allowing peace to rain, basically.
- 46:01Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, when you are allow and you relax, then anxiety will pass.
- 46:05Speaker View & Screen Share: Anger will pass.
- 46:07Speaker View & Screen Share: No d depression, feeling down will pass and you will be left with the peace that you already are.
- 46:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And so that, that's, I, I totally forgot about that, but that was my first time ever realizing that I am not my feelings and I am not my thoughts.
- 46:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And it was led to me from that piece beyond understanding.
- 46:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 46:28Speaker View & Screen Share: I love that.
- 46:29Speaker View & Screen Share: That is a, um, that is what.
- 46:33Speaker View & Screen Share: Will happen if you just allow the emotion to come through and let it just rise.
- 46:40Speaker View & Screen Share: And it's been proven that it takes 90 seconds for emotion to go all the way through your body.
- 46:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And so that 90 seconds of floating, I mean, real floating.
- 46:52Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 46:52Speaker View & Screen Share: Because when he says, take the edge off, I know from experience it doesn't just go away.
- 46:58Speaker View & Screen Share: It's still there.
- 47:00Speaker View & Screen Share: But I see it subsiding.
- 47:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And when he talks about that, um, journey, it's an upward journey.
- 47:06Speaker View & Screen Share: You're gonna come back down and hit anxiety again.
- 47:10Speaker View & Screen Share: But it's the teacher, it's the teacher that's guiding you where to go to the piece that passes all understanding.
- 47:17Speaker View & Screen Share: And I think, uh, you know, I, I wanna respect your time and I think this is a good place to stop.
- 47:23Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause we could definitely go on for a long, long time.
- 47:26Speaker View & Screen Share: But I, I, I definitely want you to come back on the channel and we'll talk about the journey that's gonna.
- 47:33Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, go, go through with this and we'll see what happens.
- 47:37Speaker View & Screen Share: And I, I look forward to talking to you again on the channel.
- 47:40Speaker View & Screen Share: Um, so where can people find you?
- 47:42Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, to, and I definitely will have the links in the show notes and description before below.
- 47:47Speaker View & Screen Share: But go ahead and tell us where people can find you and where they can work with you.
- 47:53Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, you, well, you can find me on, uh, manifested mark on YouTube.
- 47:57Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't really have a lot of like, you know, Kathie's actually might help me with this'cause I don't really have websites and all this stuff set up.
- 48:04Speaker View & Screen Share: I have a Calen, Calendly, am I saying it right?
- 48:07Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:07Speaker View & Screen Share: I have a link that you can book, uh, with me, uh, a meeting, a discovery meeting, and she'll put the link below.
- 48:13Speaker View & Screen Share: But I honestly, people come to me through word of mouth and through just guidance.
- 48:18Speaker View & Screen Share: Like people are guided to me and that's how I get most of my clients.
- 48:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And I, I don't, I try to, you know, do like the way a coach is supposed to do a couple times and I just didn't like it.
- 48:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And so I just was like, you know what, God, if you want people to work with me, then people will work with me.
- 48:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And that's exactly what happens.
- 48:35Speaker View & Screen Share: People just come to, matter of fact, today when I was sitting in the Zen Garden that I knew, one, I found that I told you about.
- 48:41Speaker View & Screen Share: I got a message that somebody is going to, somebody that I used to work with is gonna come back and work with me again.
- 48:47Speaker View & Screen Share: So I'll let you know if that happens, because usually when I get a, a message like that, that somebody's gonna call me or something, it, it usually happens, you know?
- 48:54Speaker View & Screen Share: So I was like, oh, we'll see.
- 48:56Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 48:57Speaker View & Screen Share: But, uh, one thing I do wanna say before we close is that I just wanna let anybody that's watching this, that you have, you may be experiencing anxiety.
- 49:05Speaker View & Screen Share: I want you to understand what it is.
- 49:08Speaker View & Screen Share: Anxiety is not trying to de to destroy you, it's your friend.
- 49:13Speaker View & Screen Share: Honestly, actually.
- 49:15Speaker View & Screen Share: And even the girl that her brother got shot in the nightclub, which she's okay by the way.
- 49:19Speaker View & Screen Share: I didn't say that, but he's okay.
- 49:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Even her, I remember telling her that one day you're gonna call anxiety the teacher.
- 49:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Because it's actually trying to help you.
- 49:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And she was like, mark, that's never going to happen.
- 49:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And now every time I speak to her, she's like, the teacher.
- 49:34Speaker View & Screen Share: The teacher, you know?
- 49:35Speaker View & Screen Share: Because what happens is that the, your way of being is stressful for your body and your soul.
- 49:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And your body.
- 49:45Speaker View & Screen Share: When you start experiencing anxiety, your body is telling you when you have a pain somewhere in your body, it's not just being a pain just to be a pain.
- 49:53Speaker View & Screen Share: It's being a pain to tell you something.
- 49:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Your body's communicating with you.
- 49:57Speaker View & Screen Share: And we've lost the art of listening to our body in our society, but our body's always talking to us.
- 50:03Speaker View & Screen Share: So this anxiety is telling you alert, there's something wrong.
- 50:06Speaker View & Screen Share: The way you're doing something is something wrong.
- 50:08Speaker View & Screen Share: And the way that like messages work is that first it's a whisper, and if you don't listen, eventually a bus hits you.
- 50:15Speaker View & Screen Share: So when you're having this terrible anxiety, it's from not listening to your body for a long time.
- 50:21Speaker View & Screen Share: And so now you're sensitized, your body's very sensitive.
- 50:25Speaker View & Screen Share: And I believe this is all I, what I believe from healing myself two times and from talking to people, you know, um, is when your body's really sensitive, it's because it's trying to get your attention.
- 50:37Speaker View & Screen Share: And when anxiety gets so big, it takes over your entire world.
- 50:41Speaker View & Screen Share: It's because it's like something needs to change.
- 50:44Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you start listening to it, when you stop running from anxiety, when you stop fighting anxiety and you start listening to it and being like, what is it that you're trying to teach me?
- 50:52Speaker View & Screen Share: God, what is it?
- 50:53Speaker View & Screen Share: What is it that I need to know?
- 50:55Speaker View & Screen Share: You'll start to know the things.
- 50:56Speaker View & Screen Share: Maybe you should stop drinking alcohol, right?
- 50:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Maybe you should take down less caffeine.
- 51:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Maybe there's certain people around you that you don't need to be around anymore.
- 51:06Speaker View & Screen Share: Obviously you're not talking to yourself nicely.
- 51:08Speaker View & Screen Share: You're not being loving and kind to yourself in the way you speak.
- 51:11Speaker View & Screen Share: Maybe you're not eating in a way that's really good for your body.
- 51:14Speaker View & Screen Share: Maybe you're not moving and exercising all these things.
- 51:17Speaker View & Screen Share: And then what you start doing when you start taking care of yourself is you start healing yourself.
- 51:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And what anxiety is just helping you to do is to listen and to love yourself.
- 51:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you listen to yourself and you love yourself over and over and over again, and you start to be the person that is listening to yourself and loving yourself, then anxiety has no longer a reason to be there.
- 51:38Speaker View & Screen Share: And it reduces and reduces, and reduces, and reduces.
- 51:42Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause you're a different person.
- 51:44Speaker View & Screen Share: You've learned your lesson.
- 51:45Speaker View & Screen Share: So I just want to tell everybody that because there's a lot of information and anxiety that makes it feel like something you have to fight when it's the actual opposite.
- 51:52Speaker View & Screen Share: It's something you should listen to and embrace.
- 51:54Speaker View & Screen Share: I.
- 51:55Speaker View & Screen Share: Oh, whoa.
- 51:58Speaker View & Screen Share: Bomb exploding.
- 51:59Speaker View & Screen Share: And I have to tell you that working with Mark has taught me all of that.
- 52:04Speaker View & Screen Share: So I enjoy alcohol, I like to drink, but right now I'm healing from anxiety and I know that it makes it worse.
- 52:11Speaker View & Screen Share: Another thing that happened was I was caffeine.
- 52:15Speaker View & Screen Share: I did a pre-workout in the morning before I got, you know,'cause I don't drink coffee, but I drank a pre-workout.
- 52:22Speaker View & Screen Share: I drank an energy drink.
- 52:24Speaker View & Screen Share: I went in my supplement.
- 52:25Speaker View & Screen Share: Store the other day, and they were like, Kathy, you want your energy drink?
- 52:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And I said, oh yeah, I forgot.
- 52:30Speaker View & Screen Share: I don't drink those anymore because of my, I'm healing from anxiety.
- 52:34Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 52:34Speaker View & Screen Share: I knew it.
- 52:34Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 52:35Speaker View & Screen Share: And honestly, to tell you the truth, what happened was my body just started feeling better and it started, I, I, I started taking care of myself.
- 52:45Speaker View & Screen Share: Like he said, it's all about self-love.
- 52:47Speaker View & Screen Share: And it starts there.
- 52:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And when I started doing that, those habits just fell away.
- 52:53Speaker View & Screen Share: I didn't even realize, I got up one morning and I was like, I didn't, I went to the gym and I didn't even have a pre-workout.
- 53:00Speaker View & Screen Share: What?
- 53:01Speaker View & Screen Share: That's, that hasn't happened in years.
- 53:04Speaker View & Screen Share: In, in years.
- 53:05Speaker View & Screen Share: I'm not kidding you.
- 53:06Speaker View & Screen Share: Probably at least five or six years.
- 53:09Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm like, Hmm, I don't need the caffeine.
- 53:12Speaker View & Screen Share: I did not have headache withdrawals because I was taking care of myself because I was doing meditation.
- 53:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Exactly.
- 53:18Speaker View & Screen Share: Mm-hmm.
- 53:18Speaker View & Screen Share: And because I was like, um, to your rest.
- 53:23Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 53:23Speaker View & Screen Share: And getting my rest and my sleep is so much better.
- 53:27Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 53:27Speaker View & Screen Share: And you know, I still have, you know, bouts with anxiety, but I know what it's, what it's doing now.
- 53:33Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just, it's what it is, is this, the ego just clawing for its dear life.
- 53:39Speaker View & Screen Share: And I see it.
- 53:40Speaker View & Screen Share: And I love how the book Dare teaches you this.
- 53:44Speaker View & Screen Share: How?
- 53:44Speaker View & Screen Share: Yes.
- 53:44Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, okay, whatever.
- 53:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, come on, bring it on.
- 53:48Speaker View & Screen Share: Lemme see what got.
- 53:49Speaker View & Screen Share: And then also to ta um, there's a part in that book, and let's talk about this real, real quick before we go.
- 53:56Speaker View & Screen Share: But, um, there's a part in the book where.
- 53:59Speaker View & Screen Share: Anxiety has you give it this little voice and let it talk and let it tell you what's going on.
- 54:05Speaker View & Screen Share: Because I still have anxiety, especially when I first wake up, like my brain is going, oh God, we gotta do this.
- 54:12Speaker View & Screen Share: We gotta do this, we gotta do this.
- 54:13Speaker View & Screen Share: But now I'm in the habit of taking care of myself first thing in the morning, and I'm letting go of a lot of like old limiting beliefs.
- 54:22Speaker View & Screen Share: Like, I've gotta get paid by the hour and I've gotta go to work and I've gotta show up to work because I've been in corporate for so many years, but now I'm an entrepreneur.
- 54:31Speaker View & Screen Share: And an entrepreneur is so much more kind to you than a freaking boss and corporate telling, you gotta clock in, you gotta clock out, and we don't care about your mental health, whatever.
- 54:42Speaker View & Screen Share: Just come on.
- 54:43Speaker View & Screen Share: But my brain was, those neural pathways were so engraved that when I wake up in the morning, it'll, it'll hit.
- 54:50Speaker View & Screen Share: Mm-hmm.
- 54:51Speaker View & Screen Share: It'll hit me.
- 54:51Speaker View & Screen Share: But I'm like, okay, teacher.
- 54:53Speaker View & Screen Share: And so real, real quick.
- 54:55Speaker View & Screen Share: If, if we can do it real quick.
- 54:57Speaker View & Screen Share: Yeah.
- 54:57Speaker View & Screen Share: How, um, how does dare tell you that the voice goes and you have the conversation with anxiety?
- 55:04Speaker View & Screen Share: Well, the DARE is the book that, uh, it came to me like, uh, maybe like, I don't know, maybe like 10 years after I had anxiety that first time I had it again.
- 55:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And it was, it wasn't as bad as the last time, but it was pretty bad and it was really confusing.
- 55:20Speaker View & Screen Share: I was like, why am I experiencing this?
- 55:21Speaker View & Screen Share: I, I thought I took care of this, you know?
- 55:24Speaker View & Screen Share: And um, and then I learned that, you know, I really, the last time I, the way I got through it is I, I read that Clear Weeks book.
- 55:32Speaker View & Screen Share: Um.
- 55:33Speaker View & Screen Share: And I read only one chapter and one chapter.
- 55:37Speaker View & Screen Share: In that book, it was basically telling you how anxiety is a cycle.
- 55:40Speaker View & Screen Share: So something triggered you, you had anxiety, and then you start being afraid of the anxiety and that creates more anxiety.
- 55:47Speaker View & Screen Share: So there's a spiral.
- 55:48Speaker View & Screen Share: So as soon as I read that, I was like, oh, I know what I need to do, and I just ignored it.
- 55:53Speaker View & Screen Share: That's all I did.
- 55:54Speaker View & Screen Share: I ignored it at every moment I could.
- 55:56Speaker View & Screen Share: I listened to music, I would sing along with the music.
- 55:59Speaker View & Screen Share: I started doing things I enjoyed.
- 56:00Speaker View & Screen Share: Like I started fishing.
- 56:02Speaker View & Screen Share: I started playing basketball, you know, just doing as many things I enjoyed.
- 56:06Speaker View & Screen Share: And then what really took me, uh, to like a hundred percent as I got a job that I really loved, it was my dream job at that time.
- 56:13Speaker View & Screen Share: And that job, I loved it so much that I was always present in the job and I just forgot that I even had anxieties, you know?
- 56:22Speaker View & Screen Share: And then that's what really got me out that cycle, and I didn't up experience it again.
- 56:26Speaker View & Screen Share: So the second time it happened, what happened is that I did not learn all the lessons I needed to learn.
- 56:33Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, and so when I found the steer book and I joined their community, they have a great, the book is great and they have a community that's really great.
- 56:41Speaker View & Screen Share: I joined the community and I started listening to the stories and the testimonials and real, what they're saying.
- 56:47Speaker View & Screen Share: I started to learn that there was way more to it and to, what she's talking about is the talk.
- 56:51Speaker View & Screen Share: So when anxiety starts talking to you, you know,'cause every emotion has some kind of story, has some kind of talk they tell you to stop and they tell you to, um, to change your story and say something different.
- 57:02Speaker View & Screen Share: And what they got from is cognitive behavioral therapy.
- 57:06Speaker View & Screen Share: And so, and I started reading a book on that too.
- 57:09Speaker View & Screen Share: And all cognitive behavioral therapy is, is basically.
- 57:13Speaker View & Screen Share: Writing down all your negative thoughts because all these thoughts that's coming to you, all these anxious thoughts, it's the same thought over and over and over again.
- 57:20Speaker View & Screen Share: It's probably like, you know, one to 20 of the same type of thought going over and over again in the loop.
- 57:26Speaker View & Screen Share: And so you write that down and then you write something that's the opposite of that, that's that relaxes that, that anxiety in that area, you know?
- 57:35Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you learn to have something else,'cause when you float and relax, you need to replace it.
- 57:42Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 57:43Speaker View & Screen Share: You don't wanna just float and relax and then go ahead thinking the same way you thought before.
- 57:48Speaker View & Screen Share: 'cause that's gonna create more of the same, right?
- 57:50Speaker View & Screen Share: And so you need to float and relax and then you need to be the new person.
- 57:54Speaker View & Screen Share: And Dr.
- 57:54Speaker View & Screen Share: Joe talks about this too, right?
- 57:56Speaker View & Screen Share: To get up from your meditation as the new person.
- 57:59Speaker View & Screen Share: And so you have to be that person that thinks in a way that's opposite to the way you were thinking before that got you in this place, in the first place.
- 58:07Speaker View & Screen Share: I.
- 58:07Speaker View & Screen Share: And so that's what they talk about in that book.
- 58:09Speaker View & Screen Share: And that was really p that is a really powerful thing because people, especially if your anxiety, the anxiety experience is not very dramatic.
- 58:20Speaker View & Screen Share: You can heal just like that because like the source of those, those thoughts, as soon as you change them, there's no more anxiety to be created.
- 58:28Speaker View & Screen Share: You know?
- 58:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And even if you have a lot of anxiety, all that means is that your body's very sensitized.
- 58:34Speaker View & Screen Share: And like she, like Kathy was saying, you're in a habitual pattern.
- 58:37Speaker View & Screen Share: Like you got addicted to anxiety.
- 58:39Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, it's like habitually coming up even when there's no reason to come up.
- 58:43Speaker View & Screen Share: So now you just have to learn to relax every time that comes up and think the new thoughts and practice a new feeling.
- 58:49Speaker View & Screen Share: So when you think those new thoughts, when you practice peace, when you practice joy, as you relax and practice peace, relax, and practice joy, relax, practice peace, relax, practice joy.
- 59:00Speaker View & Screen Share: You are creating a new habitual pattern within your body.
- 59:03Speaker View & Screen Share: And now what's gonna happen is you're gonna have spontaneous feelings of deep peace.
- 59:08Speaker View & Screen Share: You're gonna have spontaneous moments of joy for no reason, because this is what you're practicing now.
- 59:14Speaker View & Screen Share: And that that book has a, and you know, in that book, in the end of that book, when you read that dear book, in the end of it, he says basically that all of this basically boils down to you loving yourself.
- 59:28Speaker View & Screen Share: That's what he says.
- 59:29Speaker View & Screen Share: And I'm just like, wow.
- 59:30Speaker View & Screen Share: Like every single thing.
- 59:32Speaker View & Screen Share: Like there's a this Louise Hayes, which you know, I love, and I give Louise Hayes to everybody and she says, you know, I used to fix this about the person and this, you know, when somebody's worried about their weight, somebody's worried about relationships, somebody's worried about money.
- 59:45Speaker View & Screen Share: And she's like, once I start teaching people to love themselves.
- 59:49Speaker View & Screen Share: All of those things just start to fall away, and I didn't have to work on this and on that and that.
- 59:54Speaker View & Screen Share: And the longer I go on this journey, the spiritual journey, the more people I help, the more times I help myself, I realize that this is true.
- 1:00:01Speaker View & Screen Share: It all is just loving yourself.
- 1:00:03Speaker View & Screen Share: When you start loving yourself as much as you can every single day and growing in that love, everything starts falling away and everything just improves.
- 1:00:12Speaker View & Screen Share: Because if you love yourself, you want to have you, you can only allow the best people in your life.
- 1:00:17Speaker View & Screen Share: If you love yourself, you're gonna make sure that you have a good wage and you have, you earn a good living.
- 1:00:22Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, if you love yourself, you're gonna make sure you're healthy and you take care of your body.
- 1:00:26Speaker View & Screen Share: You know you're gonna do everything you need to do and more.
- 1:00:29Speaker View & Screen Share: Whoa, that's a good place to leave this because that is the truth.
- 1:00:34Speaker View & Screen Share: Bottom line, because you are God, you are the universe and that is where you, your power comes from.
- 1:00:43Speaker View & Screen Share: And when you realize that, it's like, wow, everything falls into place.
- 1:00:46Speaker View & Screen Share: Just like he knew what to do with the tire.
- 1:00:48Speaker View & Screen Share: Just like the girl knew what to do with the her brother getting shot, just like he knew what to do with the bug.
- 1:00:53Speaker View & Screen Share: And on top of that, he taught his children.
- 1:00:57Speaker View & Screen Share: Very valuable lessons that they can apply later in life.
- 1:01:00Speaker View & Screen Share: And it that's true.
- 1:01:02Speaker View & Screen Share: Uh, as a coach myself and a wellness consultant and a wellness coach, that's all.
- 1:01:07Speaker View & Screen Share: If, if you can teach somebody to love themselves, then all your work is done.
- 1:01:14Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just, and you could just watch this video, watch it again, watch it again, watch it again, and, and you will start to feel that self love that we're talking about, because that has changed everything.
- 1:01:26Speaker View & Screen Share: When I started working with Mark, I wanna say just two months ago, and people are already noticing a difference in me that don't even know that I.
- 1:01:36Speaker View & Screen Share: I did that.
- 1:01:37Speaker View & Screen Share: You know, I went through this coaching, but I dramatic change.
- 1:01:40Speaker View & Screen Share: It's just a matter, it's just a matter of finding that self-love that I had lost because I beat myself up so many times.
- 1:01:48Speaker View & Screen Share: And that's all anxiety is doing is is beating you up.
- 1:01:51Speaker View & Screen Share: But when you ask it to teach you the lesson, it guides you too.
- 1:01:56Speaker View & Screen Share: That, so that's where we're gonna leave this today, and I promise you we'll have Mark back on because we're still on this journey and I, it's never a destination.
- 1:02:06Speaker View & Screen Share: Right.
- 1:02:06Speaker View & Screen Share: I want you to remember that too.
- 1:02:07Speaker View & Screen Share: It's never a destination, it's just a journey.
- 1:02:10Speaker View & Screen Share: And fall in love with it because I can tell you when you do, woo, it's where the magic happened.
- 1:02:16Speaker View & Screen Share: That's right.
- 1:02:17Speaker View & Screen Share: Alright, thanks Mark.
- 1:02:19Speaker View & Screen Share: Thank you so much.
