- 0:05Speaker 1: Get Up even Closer.
- 0:07Speaker 2: On Instagram, YouTube and tick Top four for doggets four
- 0:11Speaker 2: to seven every weekday on radio.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Get it.
- 0:18Speaker 1: There's your coffee, Kezy Shoppe, kezy mind ship too. Well,
- 0:22Speaker 1: this is our couldn't be walking. You're a lazy burst.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you're on the man.
- 0:28Speaker 1: On the Man.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I feel excellent today.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Because on the Monday there you're complaining about a hangover
- 0:35Speaker 1: because you'd had six beers with friends.
- 0:37Speaker 4: On the Sunday, I had five crafties. I counted, and
- 0:40Speaker 4: with the next day, I always get a running nose,
- 0:42Speaker 4: and I was like, wow, five dollars five beers seems
- 0:45Speaker 4: to be low. Usually I don't get a running nose
- 0:48Speaker 4: unless I'm like steamed. Right, that was precent.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Do you get a running nose as you're steamed all
- 0:55Speaker 2: the next day?
- 0:56Speaker 4: Next day without right? Okay, it's so funny. Flammation and
- 1:00Speaker 4: what it is so Ibuprofen might help. Yes, we can't hurt,
- 1:04Speaker 4: but it's not anti histamine as well. It should deal
- 1:06Speaker 4: with both. I should do also just knocking your drinking
- 1:09Speaker 4: on the head, man, because your body is telling you
- 1:12Speaker 4: I having a shocker. All right, okay, yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Just have a swag of Gaviscon. I don't again extra strength.
- 1:21Speaker 4: You know how you're big on the gascon. I've never
- 1:23Speaker 4: needed gaviscon. Is that like a later in life thing.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm not big on it. I've just just I went
- 1:30Speaker 2: through a period of having it and it cured no problem,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and then it's come back again, and so I've got
- 1:36Speaker 2: back on it again. Do you ca it's taking me
- 1:38Speaker 2: months to actually buy a bottle of Gavescon?
- 1:40Speaker 4: Is it because you've been eating more spicy food now
- 1:43Speaker 4: than you used to, now that you've moved into the city.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know, just just I don't
- 1:48Speaker 2: know why.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I'm just I'm just out here spitball you there, you
- 1:53Speaker 4: go making colvo. That's good to know, though. Oh yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 4: because I've taken and as your histor me before, and
- 1:58Speaker 4: it didn't really.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Do much for a hangover to stop the running nose, right, Okay, yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 2: it's interesting. I've never heard of that as a hangover thing.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Well, I get what do I get? I'll get this.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I've got the throat thing going or has the from
- 2:13Speaker 1: a hangover or just in general, has your general no
- 2:17Speaker 1: more ultraman has that helped. Yes, I feel like it
- 2:20Speaker 1: has one hundred percent on the nasal stuff. I haven't
- 2:22Speaker 1: got that going on at all, but I wasn't. Yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: it sort of helped, but I've still got a bit
- 2:28Speaker 1: of a sore throat. But I had a couple of
- 2:30Speaker 1: beers on sanity there, but I had no ciggies. Ah,
- 2:34Speaker 1: I had no ciggies. Well, there is the problem. And
- 2:37Speaker 1: then when I finished, I was like, ah, might have
- 2:40Speaker 1: one for the road, And I got poured like a
- 2:43Speaker 1: gin the size of Mount Everest, a pint of gin.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I see, I said to the next day, thanks to that,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I don't know if I needed that half pint of gin.
- 2:52Speaker 1: He had a really good one, yes, and I was like,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I might try some of that actually has the last drink.
- 2:56Speaker 1: But he gave me a good four shots. Yeah, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: then you don't want to leave it there because it's special,
- 3:03Speaker 1: But I also I just wanted to get home. Yeah. Yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: So I drank it and then I think somewhere between
- 3:08Speaker 1: leaving his house and getting home, I was pretty pursed. Yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but yeah, but not smoking out. So I was really
- 3:15Speaker 1: happy with that, because all throughout the night there's a
- 3:18Speaker 1: bit going on. Fellers and I was thinking to myself,
- 3:22Speaker 1: Siggi would be good. I'm going to go and get
- 3:24Speaker 1: some Siggi's, and then I say no, no, no, and
- 3:28Speaker 1: I just didn't And then you forget about it after
- 3:30Speaker 1: a little while. Jose, you won't know this because as
- 3:32Speaker 1: soon as you think about it, you go and get some. Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I haven't bought Siggi's in a long time, Fate.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Sorry. Yeah, so it was really good. I was happy
- 3:40Speaker 1: about so the ciggies.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I was obviously the main.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The ciggis is my major addiction. And also it doesn't help.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So what I'm going to find out over the next
- 3:49Speaker 1: few weeks because I can't even remember the rest of
- 3:51Speaker 1: the year. But I don't think it was so. I
- 3:54Speaker 1: don't think I just throat until I started drinking again
- 3:57Speaker 1: this year, right, yeah, right.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And the problem too with the siggis when you're drinking, yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 2: the other you just really get into them. When you're
- 4:07Speaker 2: not doing your normal Siggi smoking, you're doing drinking Siggi smoke,
- 4:11Speaker 2: which is like drink smoke, drink smoke.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But then I have over a year, so they need
- 4:16Speaker 1: to go.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I still go past people on the street with
- 4:20Speaker 2: a Sigi and you know, I smell it and go, oh,
- 4:23Speaker 2: give it to me, give it to me.
- 4:25Speaker 3: But then you always have one, and you go, that's fine.
- 4:28Speaker 1: No, I have them, and this is awful. Have another one.
- 4:32Speaker 4: There's a fucking great quote. Have you guys seen Black
- 4:35Speaker 4: Books with the old mate that came in here Dela
- 4:37Speaker 4: moren your There is a really great quote from Black
- 4:41Speaker 4: Books about this guy who just does nothing but drinks,
- 4:44Speaker 4: purse and smoke stories.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And it's just like, you know, oh, maybe I should
- 4:49Speaker 3: find it and play it because it literally sums up
- 4:51Speaker 3: you guys with.
- 4:52Speaker 1: If you can. It's really frustrating because I see people.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I see people that are ripping darts and they're older,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, and I envy them because I can't do
- 5:03Speaker 1: it anymore because I get no enjoyment really out of
- 5:05Speaker 1: it anymore. Yeah, that's horrible. So my body is telling
- 5:07Speaker 1: me you've got to stop this. Yes, And it's very
- 5:09Speaker 1: weird because I'm younger than say, for let's say you
- 5:12Speaker 1: got older than me, Jason. Let's you've never had morning
- 5:15Speaker 1: after cough, you've never had this sore throat issue, any
- 5:18Speaker 1: of that until you start a vape. And now I've
- 5:19Speaker 1: got it and that's all right. So anyway, least it
- 5:22Speaker 1: feels like I'm getting a warning that I need to
- 5:23Speaker 1: stop the whole Racky Big Show week days from four
- 5:27Speaker 1: on Radio Hurraarchym The Wracky Big Show Podcast.
- 5:32Speaker 3: This is the quote here, It's thirty seconds from Black Books.
- 5:35Speaker 3: All right, So what's it like.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Then, fags and booze.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Well, to be honest, after years of smoking and drinking,
- 5:44Speaker 5: you do sometimes look at yourself and think, yeah, you know,
- 5:47Speaker 5: just sometimes in between the first cigarette with coffee in
- 5:50Speaker 5: the morning to that four hundredth class of corner shop
- 5:54Speaker 5: piss at three am, you do sometimes look at yourself
- 5:57Speaker 5: and think, yeah, this is fantastic.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Let's yeah, it's pretty accurate.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Totally.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I fucking love that.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Well, you know, and I've spoken like my bro he
- 6:16Speaker 2: gave he's given up Siggi's now for nine on thirty years.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah he doesn't. I don't consider him a smoker.
- 6:22Speaker 2: He still says. I still crave a cigarette every now
- 6:26Speaker 2: and then.
- 6:28Speaker 4: But if you gave up, like I don't know, if
- 6:30Speaker 4: you gave up something chill like raisins every now and then,
- 6:34Speaker 4: you might think.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I could have a Rais raisin. Yeah, Like so that's
- 6:39Speaker 3: you know.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But it's but it's because it doesn't give you the
- 6:41Speaker 2: effects raisins don't. I mean, it's just a taste, whereas
- 6:46Speaker 2: a siggie it creates it. And the same with pets.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You drink, person, you get a buzz on, you know
- 6:53Speaker 2: what I mean, same way people go. Well, I mean
- 6:54Speaker 2: if you if you can't drink, I mean just it's
- 6:57Speaker 2: like mushrooms, you know, you just give them up.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Well, and the problem with it is as well, and
- 7:03Speaker 1: especially when you've began as long as we have, God
- 7:04Speaker 1: were how many times have we had this discussion? Is
- 7:09Speaker 1: that I've been drinking since I was fourteen. I've been
- 7:13Speaker 1: smoking since pretty much the same time, so say thirty
- 7:16Speaker 1: five years, where every single time I drink, every single
- 7:20Speaker 1: time I've got a drink in my hand, I've also
- 7:22Speaker 1: got a cigarette in my hand.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so your body knows.
- 7:24Speaker 1: So now after thirty five years of creating that habit,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I'm telling my body that no, no, you don't get
- 7:30Speaker 1: to have half the thing that you always do when
- 7:32Speaker 1: you do this. And so it's really weird. You can
- 7:34Speaker 1: see why it's an addiction, because it's like you stop,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you're on Now you're only walking with one leg we're
- 7:40Speaker 1: only going right foot now, buddy, you know what I mean.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So it's constantly sort of in your head. It's it's
- 7:45Speaker 1: always like there's something missing, the something missing, the something missing,
- 7:47Speaker 1: which is why you always give up both at once.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's right, easier, Yeah, yeah, and weird when I come
- 7:52Speaker 1: back to it. I come back to the drinking so
- 7:54Speaker 1: that I can smoke, because I never smoke a cigarette
- 7:56Speaker 1: generally without a booze, without the person a booze A booze.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I drink seven days a week, Baba. At the moment
- 8:04Speaker 1: Jason start to take arm, he's pretty good. Actually he's not.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He's not really touching them at the momentically given.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Up definitely less, Yeah, definitely.
- 8:13Speaker 3: But what does that mean?
- 8:15Speaker 2: Well, I just don't use it as much.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Have you got it on you now?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yes, well it's in my bag.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Looking around frantically for it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: But you know, you think about it in terms of like,
- 8:26Speaker 2: I can't do it in the house.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you know that's good that you've had that,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and so you know, I find it hard to believe
- 8:33Speaker 1: that you're not doing it in the bathroom.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I really do, no, because I'd be paranoid of setting
- 8:40Speaker 2: off the alarms. Actually that happened the other day. My
- 8:42Speaker 2: wife set off the smoke alarm and it was like
- 8:45Speaker 2: they're so high in the roof. She couldn't stop it. Yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 2: it was freaking out. Was she like at home when
- 8:52Speaker 2: the smoke alarm would go off, You get the broom
- 8:54Speaker 2: and you just go do and and turn it off.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But the roof in the apartment is so high you
- 8:59Speaker 2: can't actually do anything.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I just switched off.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It's on the cord, But no, I don't. And then
- 9:04Speaker 2: I you know, when we go outside, I'll suck hard
- 9:09Speaker 2: for sometimes I'll read pass.
- 9:13Speaker 4: It's just me, what if we made a bit? No
- 9:17Speaker 4: that you give it up for the month of July.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Nah.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Well, it's really interesting because I started reading that Stop
- 9:24Speaker 2: Smoking with Alan Carr and started reading it, and I've
- 9:30Speaker 2: just stopped reading it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Can I just say it is a ship read.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It's like you were saying, I'm going to get back
- 9:37Speaker 2: to it. I will get back to it. But and
- 9:40Speaker 2: he even says in the book, it may very well
- 9:42Speaker 2: be that you find yourself stopping reading this because you
- 9:46Speaker 2: don't want to start.
- 9:47Speaker 1: That is you.
- 9:49Speaker 2: But also, like you were saying, it takes I'm sort
- 9:51Speaker 2: of still at the point of can you get to
- 9:53Speaker 2: the fucking part please?
- 9:55Speaker 1: And that's I think the whole book's like that because
- 9:57Speaker 1: I've read that. I've started reading that book probably seven times,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and it's so boring. But it's him constantly talking about
- 10:03Speaker 1: the trick is with giving up smoke. But it doesn't
- 10:05Speaker 1: look like you're waiting for the be this is what
- 10:07Speaker 1: you've got to do. Yes, but there is any of that.
- 10:10Speaker 1: It's just there's none of that.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And I would never have guessed that it could be
- 10:14Speaker 2: so easy. Okay, good, what's the easy bit?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean. The hard better is
- 10:19Speaker 1: finishing the book, and that's how she gave it.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So I will read it, I see, must
- 10:27Speaker 2: have a goal of because I'm a relatively quick reader.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I could probably finish it by the end of the week.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I bet I can finish it before you.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, probably, and then i'll see should we all read it?
- 10:41Speaker 3: I'll read it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'll read it and i'll by the end of the week.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I will do that because I'm actually quite a way
- 10:46Speaker 2: through it, and I'll finish it off and see what
- 10:49Speaker 2: see what happens.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I'm going to start from the start because it's been a.
- 10:52Speaker 4: While I think you should start from the start to Jason,
- 10:54Speaker 4: sounds like you've sort of broken it up a bit.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Well, no, because he still hasn't got to the part.
- 10:58Speaker 1: With there is no part that it's like that all
- 11:01Speaker 1: the way through. Well okay, babbling on and talking about
- 11:04Speaker 1: this and that.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And because he was he was one hundred of days.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Then how many? Why are so many people you have
- 11:12Speaker 3: to read it to find that.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yeah, feel it's a big scared hundred a day he
- 11:16Speaker 2: was smoking.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But that's that's one of those ones where they're just lit,
- 11:20Speaker 1: but you're not smoking one hundred a day. You know,
- 11:22Speaker 1: you might ever path out of them. Jeff Murphy used
- 11:24Speaker 1: to be like that, Yes, you have a cigarette just
- 11:26Speaker 1: hanging out of his God, I knew a guy sitting
- 11:29Speaker 1: on the airstro just burning out. Who are you?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Subsequent consequently work with as well. He used to go
- 11:36Speaker 2: through like a fifty gram of tobacco and like a
- 11:38Speaker 2: day and a half, two days. Yeah, he never and
- 11:41Speaker 2: he wasn't an actor. He was behind the scenes guy.
- 11:45Speaker 2: He never didn't have a cigarette like he was constantly
- 11:51Speaker 2: cigarette cigarette cigarette. He never didn't have one.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Can you get really long cigarettes? Yes, that you're just
- 11:57Speaker 3: like you can just have that lurt in at last.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Fucking I tell you what was so fucking massively triggering
- 12:04Speaker 2: to me, and it's just the psychology of it. Was
- 12:07Speaker 2: pugged in those little Vietnamese cigarettes. So I went one
- 12:10Speaker 2: of those, won't do any harm because it was so pooky, you.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Know, and you're poky. It's not a word, I know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: but it was just my new thing.
- 12:18Speaker 3: I missed this.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It was so.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Small, and I thought, oh, come on, man, count it
- 12:23Speaker 2: doesn't count.
- 12:24Speaker 4: One little puff, our little secret. Hey, listen to the
- 12:27Speaker 4: Big Show fort or seven weekdays radio, Hurduki, good on
- 12:30Speaker 4: your mate,
