- 3:10Speaker 1: Unless I can talk one of the sidekick co hosts
- 3:14Speaker 1: in joining me. But we will recap the documentary, share
- 3:18Speaker 1: our thoughts, discuss the case as here yours you know
- 3:23Speaker 1: in the chat and guys, it's.
- 3:25Speaker 2: A crazy, crazy.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Case, okay, and there's no murder involved, so it's not
- 3:32Speaker 1: that dark. But the havoc one man can do on
- 3:38Speaker 1: so many women and on society, okay, it is that crazy.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So I hope you will join us for our evening
- 3:47Speaker 1: of documentary watching and chat chatting, Okay, because we have
- 3:52Speaker 1: a great community and we have great chats.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And great conversations. Okay.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Now, today we are headed back to Kansas, which is
- 4:04Speaker 1: often called the Sunflower State, which I did not know.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And I've been to Kansas because one of my ex
- 4:12Speaker 1: husbands is from Kansas. And I don't hold that against
- 4:16Speaker 1: Kansas because my step sons still live there and they
- 4:20Speaker 1: were amazing.
- 4:22Speaker 2: But beyond its.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Endless prairies and fields of wheat and sunflowers, why is
- 4:28Speaker 1: a vast landscape of more than twenty four thousand square
- 4:32Speaker 1: miles of rivers, reservoirs, and lakes. I didn't know there
- 4:37Speaker 1: was that much water in Kansas. Guys did not know that, Okay. So,
- 4:42Speaker 1: and then places like Tuttle Creek Lake, Milford Lake, and
- 4:46Speaker 1: countless rural back roads draw thousands of outdoor enthusiasts every year.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But guys, their size and remote locations also makes search
- 4:57Speaker 1: efforts challenging.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And according to the most recent data I could find,
- 5:04Speaker 1: Kansas currently has three hundred active missing person cases, reminding
- 5:10Speaker 1: us though, that behind that statistic is a family still
- 5:15Speaker 1: hoping for answers and a loved one who deserves to
- 5:18Speaker 1: be remembered. Okay, think about that, guys. That is three
- 5:24Speaker 1: hundred families who go to bed every night wondering is
- 5:29Speaker 1: their loved one safe, do they have food, have they
- 5:33Speaker 1: been kidnapped, are they being tortured, or have they passed away.
- 5:39Speaker 1: That's a lot to worry about. So think about that, okay. Now,
- 5:45Speaker 1: On the night of December eleventh, twenty twenty three, twenty
- 5:50Speaker 1: one year old Leonardo Alan Day Flores, who went by
- 5:54Speaker 1: the nickname Leo, disappeared without a trace from Kansas City, Kansas.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Guys.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you that's really hard to happen. Somebody
- 6:06Speaker 1: has to know. I haven't said it in a long
- 6:08Speaker 1: time because people told me they hated it. But a
- 6:11Speaker 1: spaceship didn't just come up in the sky being down
- 6:14Speaker 1: something and shoot him up, okay. Et didn't come and
- 6:19Speaker 1: bring people back. So for people to go missing without
- 6:22Speaker 1: a trace back in twenty twenty three, somebody.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Knows something, Okay.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Now, Leonardo had returned home from work around six pm
- 6:34Speaker 1: that evening and then sometime after eleven pm he left
- 6:38Speaker 1: his house. Now, guys, he's a young guy.
- 6:42Speaker 2: People do that.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I know people who at eleven o'clock are just going
- 6:46Speaker 1: out to have dinner.
- 6:47Speaker 2: In some cities, that's a thing.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So no judgment, okay, me, I like to be in
- 6:53Speaker 1: bed by then. But he wasn't necessarily out doing anything nefarious.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Now, that was the last.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Time that anyone who knew him saw or heard from him.
- 7:05Speaker 1: As concern quickly grew, friends and families began searching for answers.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:12Speaker 1: A friend later located Leonardo's vehicle abandoned in a store
- 7:17Speaker 1: parking lot near Call Point Park. Inside that vehicle were
- 7:23Speaker 1: Leo's phone and wallet, two items that those closest to
- 7:28Speaker 1: him said he would not normally leave behind. Guys, if
- 7:33Speaker 1: you ever find my purse and my phone in my
- 7:36Speaker 1: car and I'm not there, something has happened. I do
- 7:42Speaker 1: not leave those in the car as the Okay. If
- 7:45Speaker 1: I'm going to a place like the concert next Wednesday
- 7:48Speaker 1: that we're going to and I can't take a.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Person, I leave it at home. Okay.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I give double H lips, gloss and credit card and
- 8:01Speaker 1: my ID just in case. If I have pockets, I
- 8:04Speaker 1: put them in there. Okay, guys. Sadly, since that night
- 8:08Speaker 1: there have been no confirmed sightings of Leonardo, and his
- 8:12Speaker 1: disappearance is still a mystery.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:17Speaker 1: He was twenty one years old when he vanished. He
- 8:19Speaker 1: is described as a Hispanic Latino with black hair, brown eyes,
- 8:24Speaker 1: and they say he's about five foot eight inches to
- 8:27Speaker 1: five foot ten, one hundred and thirty one hundred and
- 8:30Speaker 1: fifty pounds. He wears glasses, has pierced ears, and has
- 8:34Speaker 1: a distinctive red birthmark on his upper thigh. Now, his
- 8:38Speaker 1: family continues to search for answers, and they hope that
- 8:43Speaker 1: someone may remember seeing Leonardo.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Or somebody will do the right thing and come forward.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Okay, And guys, look at that beautiful mane of hair
- 8:54Speaker 1: in that picture.
- 8:55Speaker 2: He's got some nice locks. Okay.
- 8:59Speaker 1: If you know anything, even if it's just a rumor
- 9:02Speaker 1: you've heard, please call the I'm going to say whyan
- 9:07Speaker 1: dot County Sheriff's Office at nine one three five seven
- 9:12Speaker 1: three two eight six one, or you can call the
- 9:16Speaker 1: KBI at seven eight five two nine six four zero
- 9:21Speaker 1: one seven. And also, if you're on Facebook, head on
- 9:25Speaker 1: over to our Midday Missing page, share the perer, or
- 9:29Speaker 1: you can go to any of my very true crime
- 9:32Speaker 1: social media's Okay, Now, if you have a loved one
- 9:38Speaker 1: who's missing, or if you just know a missing person

- 9:47Speaker 1: upcoming episode of Midday Missing. And if you're a family member,
- 9:51Speaker 1: we are welcome to join you for a live interview
- 9:54Speaker 1: to talk about your loved one, Okay, and share their
- 9:57Speaker 1: story in your own words. Okay, So please contact me
- 10:02Speaker 1: on any of my social medias or you can email
- 10:05Speaker 1: me at Terry at tcwtmedia dot com. And guys, I
- 10:11Speaker 1: have two families that I'm in the middle of talking
- 10:14Speaker 1: to that we will be having on our show soon.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Now, next up, we're going to talk back on December fourth,
- 10:24Speaker 1: two thousand and one to Kansas State University freshmen Kyle
- 10:29Speaker 1: David Chapman and Christopher Nathan, who went by Chris Shipley,
- 10:35Speaker 1: vanished together while sailing on Tuttle Creek Lake in Riley County, Kansas. Guys,
- 10:41Speaker 1: more than two decades later, neither young man has ever
- 10:46Speaker 1: been found. Now, Chapman was eighteen years old when he disappeared.
- 10:52Speaker 1: He was a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It's about six feet tall, way about one hundred and
- 10:57Speaker 1: fifty pounds. Now, Kyle was a freshman majoring in computer
- 11:02Speaker 1: science at Kansas State University and lived in Marlotte Hall
- 11:07Speaker 1: on campus. Now, before college, he had been active in
- 11:11Speaker 1: numerous extra curricular activities. Okay, he also owned the yellow
- 11:18Speaker 1: fifteen foot racing sell boat that three friends used that afternoon. Now,
- 11:27Speaker 1: Christopher Nathan Shipley, who went by the name Chris, was
- 11:31Speaker 1: also eighteen years old. He was a white male with
- 11:34Speaker 1: brown eyes and brown hair. He stood about five foot
- 11:38Speaker 1: nine and weighed about one hundred and thirty pounds. He
- 11:41Speaker 1: was also a freshman majoring in animal sciences at Kansas
- 11:47Speaker 1: State University, which makes me wonder was he going to
- 11:50Speaker 1: become a veterinarian because Case State has an amazing veterinary school. Now.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Back in high school, he was involved in the band Okay,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and he continued his passion for music as a member
- 12:05Speaker 1: of the k State University Marching Band. Now, after classes
- 12:10Speaker 1: ended on December fourth, Kyle, Chris and fellow k State
- 12:14Speaker 1: freshman Timothy Michael Bennett, decided to spend the afternoon sailing
- 12:19Speaker 1: on Tuttle Creek Lake. They launched Kyle's yellow fifteen foot
- 12:23Speaker 1: racing cell boat from the Blue Valley Yacht Club, Okay,
- 12:27Speaker 1: leaving their shoes behind on the dock before setting out
- 12:31Speaker 1: on the water. Now, the three friends were far from
- 12:35Speaker 1: being inexperienced, okay. Kyle, Chris, and Timothy were all Eagle Scouts.
- 12:41Speaker 1: That's a lot of Eagle Scouts in one place.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:45Speaker 1: They were also qualified sailing instructors and experienced sailors. Now,
- 12:50Speaker 1: although temperatures that day were unusually warm for early December,
- 12:55Speaker 1: reaching into the sixties and seventies, Okay.
- 12:59Speaker 2: That is not warm to me, but.
- 13:02Speaker 1: That's okay, authorities did describe the sailing conditions as extremely
- 13:07Speaker 1: dangerous because of the strong winds. When the three students
- 13:14Speaker 1: failed to return, they were reported missing, triggering a large
- 13:18Speaker 1: scale search involving rescue boats, search dogs, a helicopter, as
- 13:24Speaker 1: well as ground crews, searching both with the water and
- 13:27Speaker 1: the shoreline around Tuttle Creek.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Two days after this, searchers located the sail boat adrift
- 13:36Speaker 1: in empty near Carnahan Cove. The boats kill and rudder
- 13:41Speaker 1: had become detached, while the jibsail remained packed inside its bag. Guys,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I've never been sailing. I have no idea what any
- 13:51Speaker 1: of that means to me, it sounds like the boat
- 13:55Speaker 1: had damage and maybe the emergency sail was still packed
- 13:58Speaker 1: in its bag.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Guys.
- 14:01Speaker 1: That same day, Timothy Bennett's body was discovered in Carnahan
- 14:05Speaker 1: Creek on the east side of the lake, about a
- 14:08Speaker 1: half mile from the boat. He was still wearing his
- 14:11Speaker 1: life jacket. Well. Authorities believe he likely died from half
- 14:15Speaker 1: hypothermia because the water was forty nine degrees that is cold. Okay,
- 14:23Speaker 1: But like I said, despite extensive search efforts, Kyle nor
- 14:27Speaker 1: Chris have ever been located.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Now, the authorities did transition the mission from a rescue
- 14:34Speaker 1: operation to a recovery effort after determining the likelihood of
- 14:40Speaker 1: survival was extremely low due to the cold water temperatures
- 14:44Speaker 1: and hazardous wind conditions. Now, investigators have said they don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: suspect foul play. They do believe the three young men
- 14:54Speaker 1: young men encounter trouble while sailing. However, and Chris their
- 15:01Speaker 1: remains their bodies were not found, which is suspicious. Did
- 15:06Speaker 1: another boat pick them up, Did they somehow make it
- 15:10Speaker 1: to land and then something that various happen We don't know,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and their families continue to live without answers and their
- 15:19Speaker 1: disappearances remain open cases, so if you have any information,
- 15:26Speaker 1: please contact the Riley County's Department or the KBI at
- 15:32Speaker 1: seven eight five two nine six for zero one seven. Guys,
- 15:38Speaker 1: that is sad to think that you don't know what happened.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I mean, in all likelihood, were they you know, victims
- 15:48Speaker 1: of the storm? Possibly, but we don't know. So please,
- 15:54Speaker 1: like I said, don't forget to join our Midday Missing
- 15:58Speaker 1: Facebook group where share all of our missing person posters
- 16:03Speaker 1: along with other cases that we have verified that you
- 16:06Speaker 1: need attention.
