- 1:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have a huge goal to reach and help at least three billion with a B.
- 1:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 1:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, with your help, we can do it.
- 1:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We've made it this far over um over a thousand, actually, over eleven hundred uh cities, over one hundred countries, territories, and provinces.
- 1:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All thanks to you.
- 1:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So thank you so much for being with us on this episode of the show.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we we cover the the tough topics, the hard topics, we cover the easy topics.
- 1:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, and we just want to be a voice for ourselves and a voice for those who may not uh be able to share their voice.
- 2:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I just have to say, uh I just saw probably, and I'm getting chills about this, one of the coolest uh commercials that I've ever seen.
- 2:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It gives me chills.
- 2:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So many of you know uh over the years I've participated uh with the special needs orchestra.
- 2:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh the uh you know the the the short part uh of the the the story is uh individuals all kind of challenges, all kinds of age ranges, and they come together and they play and it sounds beautiful.
- 2:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I was able to accompany them to play with a real live college orchestra at Cootztown University in Cootztown, Pennsylvania, and that was probably one of one of the highlights uh for me and what most of those individuals part of this special needs orchestra, how they play is their they have iPads and and then they have garage band, and then each song their specific chords.
- 3:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So maybe there's an F and an A and an E and a D.
- 3:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so all that is pre-programmed in, and so the director just has uh everybody get to uh you know whichever song that they're gonna be playing, and then once that screen is on that song, the four or five or two or three chords that that song, a particular song uses, show and populate on the screen.
- 4:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so as he's playing a song, he might say C and then press C, D, press D, A, press A.
- 4:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's so awesome.
- 4:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so this commercial that I'm referring to, I'm not gonna refer to the brand and the name, but what was shown on this commercial was what remind reminds me of this special needs orchestra, and it takes it one step further.
- 4:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's like a little girl, and she had her her uh iPad mounted in front of her, and she may have been a quadruple, and so instead of her or a guardian or a helper, you know, press the particular chord for the particular song, she did it with her eye, and her eye movement was going to the particular chord.
- 5:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Absolutely phenomenal.
- 5:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, like I said, I had the chills then, I have the chills now.
- 5:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh that's what we're talking about when we say we're giving people a voice.
- 5:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because voices come in so many different ways, not just the spoken word, which is predominantly how I use my voice, is through the spoken word.
- 6:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, sometimes I'll play play guitar, uh, other times I'll try to sing, but it's almost just like reading the lyrics to a song.
- 6:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uhers may play in that special needs arena with pressing or having somebody help them press the particular chords, or now with the technology where the musician can guide basically the mouse to the specific chord and have that press and have that play with with the orchestra, with with the band, and I have to learn more about it.
- 7:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So amazing.
- 7:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And these are the kind of stories that we talk about.
- 7:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes we don't talk about them uh as as much as we should.
- 7:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, but there's so many ways to share our voice.
- 7:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's there's there's so many.
- 7:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's not just a spoken word.
- 7:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So when we usually conclude our shows, we say, you know, let's celebrate the voices of everybody across the world, and let's be a voice for ourselves and maybe someone else in need.
- 7:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're talking about all kinds of voices, doesn't all have to be the spoken word.
- 7:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we don't want to limit a voice to a spoken word.
- 7:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No.
- 7:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: How about writing a novel?
- 7:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: How about writing a screenplay?
- 8:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: How about writing a TV show?
- 8:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: How about writing a movie?
- 8:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So many different ways.
- 8:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And just we just scratched the surface.
- 8:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So at the outset, I wanted to touch on that because I literally just saw that uh as we were getting ready, uh, as we were getting set up uh to film this particular episode.
- 8:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we do have heavy sun coming from uh this uh this this side uh and I'm all for it.
- 8:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it looks like I'm kind of glowing, I guess.
- 8:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh blue sky.
- 8:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm a believer, Jesus, my dad.
- 8:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My dad's in heaven, they're shining down on us right now, and uh so we we we love the sun, we we love what it does for our moods, it helps us have a usual, usually a uh you know more positive outlook, and we tend to just be a little bit in a happier mood than when it's not.
- 9:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so we've been not really knocking out the shows, haven't we?
- 9:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, we really have.
- 9:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's uh it's a big deal.
- 9:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a big deal.
- 9:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're reaching people that I never thought we would reach, right?
- 9:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're doing things and we'll be doing things that I've wanted to do for so many years, but on a like a much smaller scale.
- 10:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I I'm I it just blows my my mind, block boggles my mind, whatever whatever the words we want to use, adjectives, to be able to do this, and what we're about to embark on as an organization is so neat.
- 10:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm I can't wait to share it with you all.
- 10:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Whether this is your first show or whether it's uh you've been with us from the beginning.
- 10:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have over 480 episodes.
- 10:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let that sink in.
- 10:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: A charity that doesn't get paid has one employee, has over four hundred and eighty episodes of the Voices for Voices TV show and podcast.
- 11:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And let that be the drive, the determination.
- 11:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: When somebody tells you no, you can't do it, you say, Yes, yes, I can do it, and I'm going to do it, and I will do it, and I'm gonna start right now, or I'm gonna continue on.
- 11:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I doubted myself.
- 11:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I had somebody tell me how useless, how stupid our videos are, how yeah, useless our shows are, but I continued on.
- 11:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Why do I continue on?
- 11:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because there's a lot of people that need to see and hear the light they need to hear and see from somebody who suffers from major depression, acute anxiety, ADHD, OCD, ADD, low spectrum autism, you name it.
- 12:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I got just about every acronym in the book.
- 12:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that doesn't stop me.
- 12:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It might make me stutter sometimes, it may make me go on tangents, it may make me repeat myself over and over again.
- 12:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But what it won't make me do is sever stop.
- 12:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not gonna stop because somebody doesn't like the show.
- 13:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Somebody doesn't want to like the show or want to have the show succeed.
- 13:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so when I said there's things that are are are are waiting in the wings to be shared, it it's probably gonna probably gonna make you think twice about judging a show, judging an organization, judging a person, putting expectations, putting limits on the table and going and whispering and gossiping to our you know, our friends and and our our friend groups.
- 14:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that's why I ask, why don't you help us help others?
- 14:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Follow our social media, give us a thumbs up.
- 14:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: These are free, you don't gotta pay a darn thing.
- 14:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Give us a thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share.
- 14:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Reach out to twenty-five people, twenty five connections in your phone.
- 14:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let them know about the voices for voices, TV show and podcast.
- 14:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is making ripples not just here in the United States of America, but across the world.
- 14:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're making ripples across governments, across militaries, across average people like myself.
- 15:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's because of you, you're helping us continue to carry that torch and continue on.
- 15:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Your demand for our content is the reason we're doing what we do.
- 15:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We could have given up a long time ago.
- 15:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: When you hear me talk about how we have over 480 episodes, just think of how many times I could have quit.
- 15:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I could have given up.
- 15:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I could have just said, eh, it's just a show.
- 15:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just what's a big deal.
- 15:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I didn't.
- 15:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'm not.
- 15:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not telling you you can't do what you want to do and what you're doing.
- 16:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I have a lot of work to do on myself.
- 16:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I and so I know there's a lot of ways I can be a better person.
- 16:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I try to work on those.
- 16:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So don't let anybody tell you you can't do it.
- 16:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because, like that commercial I saw, and that little girl was on stage, and she was playing music with the movement of her eye.
- 16:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, don't tell me you can't do it.
- 16:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You can't try.
- 16:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, it might take a lot of tries.
- 16:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It may, it may take a lot of a lot of tries.
- 17:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Anything worth doing takes a lot of time, a lot of trying.
- 17:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It really does.
- 17:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Otherwise, everybody else would be doing what you're doing and what we're doing.
- 17:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so, yes, yes, there's haters, yes, there's people that don't want to be on the bandwagon.
- 17:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's fine.
- 17:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What do I say?
- 17:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I say turn the channel, I say follow another podcast.
- 17:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's what I say.
- 17:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Don't spend your time being upset.
- 17:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to spend my time being upset and doing something that I don't love doing.
- 18:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So let's come together.
- 18:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I say we wanna reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 18:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We want to do just that.
- 18:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I get it.
- 18:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a big number.
- 18:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a lot.
- 18:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to spend the rest of my life not trying.
- 18:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I want to spend the rest of my life trying.
- 18:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And sharing my experience.
- 18:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And experience of others.
- 19:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Experiences of others, plural.
- 19:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's what I want to do, and that's what we're doing.
- 19:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I can't I can't give in when when people say, oh, you're just doing these stupid videos, nobody cares.
- 19:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Okay.
- 19:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Everybody's entitled to their opinion, and that's okay.
- 19:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's okay.
- 19:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm spending less of my time judging or worrying about how people perceive us, our organization, the things we do, uh, the things we are trying to do, the things we're we've succeeded in, and that we will continue to succeed in, and as you will see and hear and read.
- 20:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So to anybody out there let this be a little bit of a motivational talk.
- 20:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Anyone tells you you can't do it, tell them yes I can.
- 20:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or share in your voice.
- 20:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yes I can.
- 20:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yes I will.
- 20:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's okay if you don't want me to.
- 20:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's okay if you don't think I can do it.
- 20:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm gonna do it.
- 20:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Every dream started with an idea.
- 21:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Every dream started with an idea.
- 21:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And sometimes we have to look fear in the eyes instead of running from it when we haven't even seen it.
- 21:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we look at look look fear in the eyes, it's like okay.
- 21:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I see you.
- 21:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna keep going.
- 21:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna keep doing.
- 21:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna keep accomplishing.
- 21:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna keep helping.
- 21:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're gonna keep Doing the things that we've set out to do from the beginning.
- 22:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if it's taken a year, two years, five years, ten years, it's okay.
- 22:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's called persistence.
- 22:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's called persistence.
- 22:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not only do we have it, but you have it as well.
- 22:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we want to persist, we will persist.
- 22:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And don't let anybody tell you that you can't.
- 22:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So let's celebrate all the voices in the world.
- 22:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And let's be a voice for not only ourselves, but maybe somebody else as well that may not be able to share their voice.
- 23:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we'll see you on the next episode of the Voices for Voices TV show and podcast.
- 23:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you so much.
- 23:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll see you next time.
- 23:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Bye for now.
