- 0:00Hello. I don't have good words for you, but I've
- 0:03got words anyway. I would normally be posting
- 0:05a video tomorrow, but I didn't want to wait that
- 0:08long. So here we go. Baseline. Israel bombed
- 0:12Iran during talks that were supposed to be about
- 0:16not bombing each other. Netanyahu, the prime
- 0:18minister of Israel, made a claim that he's been
- 0:21making for like 30 years that Iran is weeks away
- 0:24from having a usable nuclear weapon. There is
- 0:27debate. Among the international community as
- 0:30to whether or not that was true I say debate
- 0:32like that because most places seem to indicate
- 0:36that's not the case there's a very big difference
- 0:38between weeks away from the bomb and whatever
- 0:41the state of their uranium enrichment process
- 0:44was and Also, there are countries that have nukes.
- 0:47I didn't check in the Bible myself But I don't
- 0:50think it says that we are the divine arbiters
- 0:53of who's allowed to have what weaponry forever
- 0:56Let's not forget that Israel made the first strike
- 0:59in this war. Like, they're the ones with the
- 1:03nukes. Obviously, this has destroyed any notion
- 1:05of diplomacy and Iran is already saying, how
- 1:08can we possibly trust that the US is acting in
- 1:10good faith with anything? As a refresher, during
- 1:13Trump's first term, he pulled out of the Iranian
- 1:16nuclear deal and they actually adhered to the
- 1:19deal for like at least a year afterwards. Now
- 1:22he's back and he's upset about what they're doing.
- 1:26and bombed them. He then asserted afterwards
- 1:28that as long as Iran does nothing in response,
- 1:32everything is hunky dory, which is not how anything
- 1:34works. That's just war, my guy. Bombing foreign
- 1:38soil and then saying if you do anything else,
- 1:41we'll bomb you more is war. So despite headlines
- 1:45coming out about various figures in the White
- 1:48House and Pentagon officials saying, oh, we don't
- 1:51want a war. It was just one targeted strike.
- 1:54to support, you know, the war that's going on
- 1:57that Israel started. But I want to I want to
- 1:59pivot real quick and point out that there's a
- 2:01lot of conversation right now around whether
- 2:03or not this strike was legal. And let's let's
- 2:06first just say bombing another country isn't
- 2:08legal. Regardless, we were not at war with Iran
- 2:13and then we dropped multiple of some of the largest
- 2:15munitions ever dropped. And now we're trying
- 2:20to say we're not at war with Iran still. During
- 2:22Trump's address about all of this, he said that
- 2:25it was an unconditional success. And again, he
- 2:27asserted that Iran cannot retaliate or the U
- 2:30.S. will make more strikes, which to me sounds
- 2:33like aggression. The multiple stealth bombers
- 2:35dropping bombs on Iran after Israel did a surprise
- 2:38attack on Iran also feels like aggression, for
- 2:42the record. But whether or not it's legal, whether
- 2:45or not it went through Congress, like, for one,
- 2:49when has this administration done anything the
- 2:51right way? And for two, that doesn't make it
- 2:54better. And also there is precedent for this.
- 2:57Not that it makes it okay. It's not okay. It's
- 3:00extremely not okay. But basically every president
- 3:02has bombed countries without congressional approval.
- 3:05At least recent presidents, most presidents.
- 3:09And none of that makes it okay. None of it. If
- 3:11the issue that the Democrats have isn't with
- 3:13the bombing and is with the way that the bombing
- 3:17happened, that's a problem. And knowing that
- 3:19they're never going to hold him accountable and
- 3:21knowing that the Republicans aren't going to
- 3:22hold him accountable, I want to take this moment
- 3:24to remind you that accountability only matters
- 3:27if there's the will to enforce it. And the current
- 3:29administration and Congress and Supreme Court
- 3:32have shown time. And again, there is not that
- 3:36will to enforce it. Like, who's going to get
- 3:38who's going to get the order to who and. How
- 3:42is not going to stop like we knew. that this
- 3:44was going to happen. We knew that a second Trump
- 3:47presidency was going to be disastrous. That doesn't
- 3:50make it okay, but we need to be prepared for
- 3:52this. We're already seeing retaliatory strikes
- 3:54from Iran. Israel is still striking Iran. This
- 3:57isn't over by a long shot. The rest of the world
- 4:00is condemning us, as they well should, as we
- 4:02continue to stand behind a pariah state that
- 4:05is the one causing the destabilization in the
- 4:08region it's complaining about destabilization.
- 4:10And don't let this get spun. These are deeply,
- 4:13deeply unpopular moves. Even Trump's own base
- 4:16don't want to get dragged into a war in the Middle
- 4:19East. But propaganda bots are already out in
- 4:22force. Our own intelligence said that Iran didn't
- 4:25have a path to nuclear weapons in the near future.
- 4:28They just made shit up again, just like they
- 4:31did with Iraq. And you can scream about 60 %
- 4:35enriched uranium as much as you want, but that
- 4:37doesn't justify bombing another country. If it
- 4:40did, we would be bombed a lot. There was a recent
- 4:43job approval rating poll about Trump and there
- 4:45was one part of it that it blew my mind. I guess
- 4:49I should have expected it, but it turns out that
- 4:51the youngest generation, the 18 to 29 year old
- 4:54generation, Just three months ago had a plus
- 4:57eight net approval rating of Trump. The youngest
- 5:00eligible voters had a net positive view of Trump.
- 5:04Now, three months later today, It's at negative
- 5:0739 among the same cohort. Which, like, yay, welcome,
- 5:10you made it eventually, but it just tells me
- 5:12that the propaganda worked. Why would they have
- 5:15believed that? Why would any young person truly
- 5:17believe from any objective reality that Donald
- 5:20J. Trump, a barely alive, lifelong con man with
- 5:25a disastrous first term, would do anything to
- 5:28improve the quality of life for young people
- 5:30in a second term? The amount of people who were
- 5:33flailing. during the past election arguing that
- 5:37this wasn't going to happen. It's mind boggling.
- 5:39And why do I think that propaganda happened?
- 5:41Because as I mentioned, the propaganda bots are
- 5:43out in force. Where is that youngest generation?
- 5:46They are online. They are on TikTok. And if you
- 5:49recall TikTok during the past election cycle,
- 5:52it was hell. It was entirely arguing. It was
- 5:55entirely bullshit. And it was entirely astroturfed
- 5:58crap in the comments. The amount of people who
- 6:00were asserting that RFK Jr. was not an anti -vaxxer.
- 6:05Ridiculous. Propaganda bots or farms, whatever
- 6:08you want to call them, they don't need to make
- 6:11sense. They just need to be so omnipresent that
- 6:14sense is no longer a major factor in the equation.
- 6:17They just need to create enough scenarios where
- 6:19someone saw a thing about a thing that made them
- 6:23associate two things together or internalize
- 6:26some belief that they never even thought about.
- 6:29And they've won. When they can answer something
- 6:31easily, for example, why did we bomb Iran? With
- 6:35an answer like, well, they were close to nukes.
- 6:37Wow, that's very acceptable. That's so internalizable.
- 6:41No further nuance necessary. Absolutely no further
- 6:45attention required. If you were duped by this,
- 6:48I don't know what to tell you. You were duped.
- 6:49And it happens. Propaganda is rampant in the
- 6:53United States. You're not alone. I fall for and
- 6:56have fallen for propaganda plenty, which is why
- 6:58I have learned to cross -reference things and
- 7:01read sources that I've been told not to trust
- 7:04by the ones who are telling me to trust them.
- 7:07Does that make me a conspiracy theorist? No.
- 7:09It makes me someone who wants to gather more
- 7:11information from further perspectives than the
- 7:14American empire. Is Iran the good guy? No. I
- 7:18mean, not the government of Iran. The people
- 7:20of Iran are just people, but the government is
- 7:23not good. And also the United States just conducted
- 7:26another bombing campaign halfway across the world
- 7:29because we said that it's the right thing to
- 7:31do and then invoked the name of God repeatedly.
- 7:34So tell me who's the big scary religious political
- 7:37entity that's going to destroy the world because
- 7:39I've not been bombed once by Iran. But we're
- 7:43about to see a whole lot more people dead from
- 7:46our tax dollars. As I said, I didn't have good
- 7:49words for you. I'm very, very sorry. There's
- 7:51just not. There's not much of a silver lining
- 7:54to find here. I can look for the good news I
- 7:56can try to spin it some way, but we are again
- 7:59at war in the Middle East Despite what our leadership
- 8:03wants you to think despite how much they wish
- 8:05that they could just Launch a bomb and not worry
- 8:08about what happens next That's warfare and the
- 8:11rest of the world is calling it out as such Never
- 8:14let them convince you that you hate a random
- 8:15human being across the world Because of stories
- 8:18that you've only ever heard from the people telling
- 8:20you to hate them Are those stories completely
- 8:22meritless and should be 100 % thrown aside? No.
- 8:25Not necessarily. But if someone tells you that
- 8:28literally everything that they've ever done is
- 8:29righteous and correct and we should ignore the
- 8:32wrongs from the past and this time it'll be different?
- 8:36Yeah, that's worth questioning. Because I once
- 8:39held a hope for a peaceful future. But stuff
- 8:43still happened. Take care.
