- 0:00Speaker 1: Who you are going to be, what you are going
- 0:02Speaker 1: to become, what you hope for. All of this is
- 0:08Speaker 1: based solely on decisions that you will make. So choose
- 0:15Speaker 1: all of your decisions wisely. I wish I understood this
- 0:22Speaker 1: as a younger man, and I'm so trying to get
- 0:26Speaker 1: my sons to understand this and daughters that decisions you're
- 0:32Speaker 1: making right now will affect your future. You know, it
- 0:36Speaker 1: actually begins in the ninth grade. When you're in the
- 0:39Speaker 1: ninth grade, they start keeping track of your grades. They
- 0:43Speaker 1: let kindergarten through eight go, but from nine, ten, eleven,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and twelve they start accumulating the grade point because that's
- 0:54Speaker 1: gonna determine the GPA, will determine your ability to get
- 0:59Speaker 1: into higher education college. So it starts then. So they
- 1:04Speaker 1: started at a young age training you that the decisions
- 1:07Speaker 1: you make now will affect your tomorrow. Well, it becomes
- 1:11Speaker 1: even more important once you're done with school because now
- 1:16Speaker 1: everything you do it's counting.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Everything you do matters.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You can stop thinking just because you're young, it don't matter.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It matters. What you do at twenty has something to
- 1:32Speaker 1: do with twenty five. What you do at twenty five
- 1:34Speaker 1: has something to do with thirty. Maybe not directly, but
- 1:39Speaker 1: indirectly it will affect you. I was listening to we
- 1:44Speaker 1: were doing a story earlier today about the basketball player
- 1:48Speaker 1: Paul Pierce, and he has a podcast and his podcast
- 1:52Speaker 1: he said that marriage is for old people and poor people.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Now Earth Winnifire said it best in the song that said,
- 2:03Speaker 1: You're always gonna find a few to walk with you.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I don't care what.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You say online, you can find somebody to agree with you. Now,
- 2:15Speaker 1: Paul Pierce, who is not married, you are now listening
- 2:19Speaker 1: and taking advice from somebody who's never done it and
- 2:24Speaker 1: has justified why he won't do it because marriage is
- 2:27Speaker 1: for old people and poor people. What that don't make
- 2:33Speaker 1: no sense? That just doesn't. But if that's how he's thinking,
- 2:39Speaker 1: it will affect his tomorrow. And when Paul Pierce gets
- 2:45Speaker 1: at an age where he's gonna have wanna have somebody
- 2:48Speaker 1: by his side, you've got to remember that when you
- 2:51Speaker 1: were younger, you made these certain decisions that didn't that
- 2:54Speaker 1: prohibited somebody from being by your side. So now your
- 2:57Speaker 1: pool of selecting who will be by yourself is going
- 3:00Speaker 1: to lessen the older you get your decisions that you
- 3:04Speaker 1: make today will have something to do with your tomorrow,
- 3:08Speaker 1: So choose wisely.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Nuri Mohammad said it best.
- 3:13Speaker 1: He said, outside of your relationship with God, the most
- 3:16Speaker 1: important decision that you will ever make in your life
- 3:19Speaker 1: is who you choose to spend the rest of your
- 3:21Speaker 1: life with. That's an important decision.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I've gotten it wrong a couple of times, I really have,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and I've learned in my life that sometimes you got
- 3:32Speaker 1: to get it wrong to get it right. But what
- 3:35Speaker 1: I do not do I do not allow my past
- 3:40Speaker 1: to determine my future either. When you make a mistake,
- 3:43Speaker 1: as you will and oftentimes may, you have the right
- 3:47Speaker 1: to correct them.
- 3:49Speaker 2: You have the right to get them right. Now.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Had I made smarter decisions earlier, I wouldn't have had
- 3:56Speaker 1: to right so much. But I made a low mistakes
- 4:01Speaker 1: a lot. I have made more mistakes than I've gotten
- 4:05Speaker 1: it right. But listen to me. You only need a
- 4:09Speaker 1: couple of wins in life, y'all. So stop letting the
- 4:13Speaker 1: disappointments and the setbacks and the mistakes bury you, because
- 4:17Speaker 1: you only need a one win. Of all the mistakes
- 4:21Speaker 1: you've made, you just need one win. You need one
- 4:25Speaker 1: of them.
- 4:25Speaker 2: To hit.
- 4:27Speaker 1: A baseball player becomes a multi millionaire by having success
- 4:33Speaker 1: at the plate three out of ten times thirty percent.
- 4:41Speaker 1: A great baseball player has a thirty percent success rate
- 4:47Speaker 1: thirty percent he fails at the plate, seventy percent of
- 4:50Speaker 1: the time, he makes millions of dollars. Nobody in the
- 4:57Speaker 1: NBA is shooting one hundred percent even from the free throw.
- 5:03Speaker 1: If you're shooting an eighty percent from the free throw,
- 5:06Speaker 1: you're a pretty good free throw shooter. Nobody in golf
- 5:13Speaker 1: every round shoots a birdie. Nobody not every whole. Birdy's
- 5:20Speaker 1: the whole. Sometimes you parse, sometimes you bogey. The greatest
- 5:25Speaker 1: golfers in the world bogey and triple bogey, and that
- 5:28Speaker 1: the greatest golfers in the world. Stop letting when you
- 5:31Speaker 1: get it wrong. Define who you are. You have the
- 5:33Speaker 1: right to make up from mistakes. But remember now, try
- 5:37Speaker 1: to make a better decision in the first place, because
- 5:40Speaker 1: all the decisions that you make will do will have
- 5:42Speaker 1: an effect on your tomorrow. Even though you can't control tomorrow,
- 5:46Speaker 1: you do have a say so in it, so you
- 5:49Speaker 1: can't throw caution to the wind. Make smart decisions today,
- 5:52Speaker 1: pay very close attention because tomorrow may very well come.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Those are my clothes remarks, hope you got something from
- 5:59Speaker 1: it if you did join us tomorrow, God willing, and
- 6:02Speaker 1: maybe you'll get something from it. Then if you don't,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's because you ain't looking for nothing. So go ahead on.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That's how you gonna end of the Yeah today.
- 6:15Speaker 3: That's how it started, pretty much.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's it.
