- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Welcome back.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: We took uh we took a week off.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to you, also, sir.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: You went to Stubenville.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: I did Stubinville.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: That's an inside joke.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Watch that thing you do, and you'll understand what we're talking about.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I did go to Stubenville.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: I may tell you about that first.
- 1:01SPEAKER_05: Yes, I'd like to hear about it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_05: I just saw you know videos of you know like big Jesus rock concerts.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's basically Jesus music.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Basically what it was.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: So so it's a Catholic youth conference.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: So both my boys were part of it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Um and it's I mean, it's what you think it would be.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: They gear it towards teenagers.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: So that's why the band is there.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And they just get the party going, and it's just it's all, you know, hyped up music, and then there's prayer, and then there's all kinds of other stuff.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, we got down there Friday uh in the afternoon, and it was so funny because we had we had a traveler with us.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna say anybody's name uh for lack of for for fear of embarrassing them.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Not that anybody listens to our podcast, but um well, the 17 people that do probably be interested to know.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: So so this traveler that was traveling with us um the whole way down, they were like, uh anything we can do for you?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: No, I'm good.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you you sure?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Yep, no, I'm good.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Is it too hot?
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: No, no, I'm good.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: And this person slept a lot of the way on the way down.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And then as soon as we got to the hotel.
- 2:14SPEAKER_05: Is this traveler related to you?
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: No.
- 2:16SPEAKER_05: Okay, just checking.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: No, and then so so we got to the hotel and we get out of the van and we're carrying our luggage and brall all over the car parking lot.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Motion sickness.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Oh that explains it.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: So if this person had had told us earlier, maybe we would have moved them from the very back of the van to the middle of the van.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: That might have been.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: Or at least the front or something, you know.
- 2:40SPEAKER_05: Something.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, something.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: But luckily being in a van is like flying in a plane.
- 2:45SPEAKER_05: Your smoothest ride is you know, over the wings to the front.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:49SPEAKER_05: If you're in the back, screw it.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:51SPEAKER_05: You know, that's why they, you know, back in the old days, the smoking section was in the back of the plane.
- 2:56SPEAKER_05: So when it crashed, everybody would be like, oh well.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: So I did not know that.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: No, I just made that up.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, I figured.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: But luckily, this person um on the way back, we it was funny because m my wife uh went out and bought um uh saltines and ginger ale for the trip back, but we moved the person up to the middle and they were fine all the way back.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: So it was good, good.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: But no, it was uh it was good.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: So so I was a chaperone, um, so I just got to watch everything happen and be where the kids are, and you know, and just kind of not really interfere.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Right just kind of be there.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Just be there in the background.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: And uh my wife uh went down because so so it was a it was a husband and wife thing.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: So I was a chaperone and went into the convention.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: My wife came down with our with uh our youngest because the other chaperone was in the convention with me because I was a male, she is a female, right?
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I needed both.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: So her husband and his kids, Johnny B is who I'm talking about.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: I figured it was you know, they wanted playmate, so that's why my youngest went and so they just kind of went to the pool, they went to the bat uh basketball museum.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Uh the NBN NBA b NBA museum or something like that in uh in Springfield Mass.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Um which was cool.
- 4:19SPEAKER_05: That's an interesting place for the NBA uh museum.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 4:24SPEAKER_05: Because I I I really don't know any correlation between Springfield Mass and the NBA.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Nor do I.
- 4:31SPEAKER_05: Unless James Naismith like lived.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: I shouldn't say it's the NBA, it's the National Basketball Museum.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: Also, just basketball in general.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: I think so, yes, because we noticed that one of our hometown girls is in the basketball museum.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, her name's Faith Schweberg.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you know Faith or not, but no idea.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: She won the uh National Elks hoop shoot contest.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Ah.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: And so when she was gotta be middle school, sixth grade, seventh grade, something like that.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Uh anyway, there's a big uh big display of Faith Schoberg, winner of the Elks, you know, it's all basketball stuff.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: So yeah, shacks, sneakers in there and things like that.
- 5:11SPEAKER_05: It's probably like a wing in itself.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: And so there was a restaurant right next to our hotel, and every night, except Mondays, they have a band.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: I was like, why can't they do that up here?
- 5:27SPEAKER_05: Because most restaurants aren't even open on Mondays.
- 5:30SPEAKER_05: This is true.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Or Wednesday or Thursday.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: But yeah, um, so so my wife they went there a couple times in the two two different bands, and and uh so it was and and there's video of of the lead singer coming up and having my daughter singing the microphone and stuff.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: So it was it was fun.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I think they had a good time.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: You know, and they went swimming in the pool and absolutely um.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: But we were it was they were long days.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: We were there at uh we were at the convention center at 8 30 every morning, and we got home at 10 30 at night.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: It was a long day.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: It was a long day.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: But it was good, it was all good.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: And then we got back uh Sunday night and all was well.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And you ATL Th the yearly the yearly my yearly Pilmirage.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yes.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Pilm Pilmirgridge?
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Pilmirgridge.
- 6:20SPEAKER_05: That's that's good.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: I had to point that out.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: I like that's uh that's lovely.
- 6:24SPEAKER_05: Pilgrimage.
- 6:26SPEAKER_05: I can't even say it now.
- 6:28SPEAKER_05: Sorry.
- 6:29SPEAKER_05: Let me not think about it.
- 6:30SPEAKER_05: Pilmimage.
- 6:32SPEAKER_05: There we go.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Anyway, anyway, that was a camp.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: A success.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Yes, arrogant teen leadership camp is what we're talking about.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was great.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Great group, great group of kids.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: I saw the video today.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Did you see the video today?
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: What video?
- 6:46SPEAKER_05: Oh, the camp video?
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: They posted the camp video, yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_05: Well, we saw it, you know, of course, the last day of camp.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, right.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: We saw it.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, and I saw your um uh on is it Tuesdays?
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: On Tuesdays we wear pink.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Wednesdays.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Wednesdays, I'm sorry.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: On Wednesdays we wear pink.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:00SPEAKER_05: Well, just it was just a happy coincidence.
- 7:02SPEAKER_05: It wasn't a mean girl tribute.
- 7:03SPEAKER_05: It was just uh everybody was wearing pink.
- 7:05SPEAKER_05: We were just, you know, staff was wearing pink this year.
- 7:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:07SPEAKER_05: So it was just one, and we always wear it on VIP day, which is Wednesday.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: So whose idea was it to do that?
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: That little uh the TikTok?
- 7:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:13SPEAKER_05: Oh, that was uh our uh facilitator Maggie.
- 7:16SPEAKER_05: Oh, nice.
- 7:16SPEAKER_05: Well, it was everybody's idea.
- 7:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, because ATLC actually has a TikTok.
- 7:21SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 7:21SPEAKER_05: But Maggie is like the queen of TikTok.
- 7:24SPEAKER_05: Gotcha.
- 7:24SPEAKER_05: So she was very excited for us to do that.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 7:27SPEAKER_05: And it took me like 87 tries to get that on Wednesdays when we were pink thing.
- 7:32SPEAKER_05: Because I I didn't realize that's how it worked.
- 7:35SPEAKER_05: You you just mouth along to the the audio is already there.
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: Right, yeah.
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: You just mouth along.
- 7:39SPEAKER_05: I didn't realize that.
- 7:40SPEAKER_05: I had no idea.
- 7:40SPEAKER_05: I had no idea.
- 7:41SPEAKER_05: I've never done I don't have TikTok.
- 7:42SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Snapchat works that way too.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Well, it's not yeah.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: Um because you used to do, I used to do what's the one I did from Beverly Host Cop.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Um You're not gonna put a banana on your tailbike.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: There's a I have a snap of me or a video of me doing that.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Oh really?
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: And you just you just uh talk along with the Oh okay.
- 7:59SPEAKER_05: Well I didn't realize that's how it works, so yeah.
- 8:01SPEAKER_05: It took me a few tries to get it down, but you know, it worked out, I think.
- 8:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I know.
- 8:05SPEAKER_05: It was it was fun.
- 8:06SPEAKER_05: It was funny.
- 8:06SPEAKER_05: It was fun.
- 8:06SPEAKER_05: It was like it was like the best seven seconds of uh of her ex can't camp experience, I think.
- 8:13SPEAKER_05: So it was pretty great.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 8:15SPEAKER_05: She was pretty high, she was very happy with it, got a lot of views, and yeah, so yeah, yeah.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: But yeah, the the kids were great.
- 8:20SPEAKER_05: They you know, you know, because you've been there, you were there, man.
- 8:22SPEAKER_05: Of course, yeah and you know how when they first get there, it's they're kind of like they're not buying what you're selling.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Uh absolutely.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 8:30SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 8:31SPEAKER_05: Not this crew.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: They were into it from almost the get-go.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Had they been told about it or something?
- 8:37SPEAKER_05: I have no idea, but they were they were all they were all like fired up about it.
- 8:41SPEAKER_05: Because one of the first things we do is go to supper, we have an energizer.
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: Dude, they were doing the energizer.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 8:48SPEAKER_05: I was like, what is happening?
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: We didn't and then it just, you know, it just went from there.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: We came here for a purpose, and we're not gonna let that purpose pass us by.
- 8:56SPEAKER_05: I know, it was great.
- 8:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_05: There were a couple little drama things, but you know, that's what you get.
- 9:01SPEAKER_05: You know, that's what you always give.
- 9:02SPEAKER_05: But the boys, the boys were hilarious.
- 9:05SPEAKER_05: Did you see my video of them like you know how you like group hugs?
- 9:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah, came up with a group handshake.
- 9:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:11SPEAKER_05: They were I was like, oh my, where did where did they come up with this?
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:16SPEAKER_05: But they were hilarious, they got they got really tight because of course the boys are always in the minority.
- 9:21SPEAKER_05: But they this this crew got really, really tight.
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: And of course, our favorite one, we had a camper named Steve Austin.
- 9:28SPEAKER_05: Whoa.
- 9:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 9:30SPEAKER_05: So immediately we asked if we could call him Stone Cold.
- 9:34SPEAKER_05: He was totally into it.
- 9:35SPEAKER_05: We even had him name tag changed to Stone Cold.
- 9:39SPEAKER_05: To Stone Cold.
- 9:40SPEAKER_05: Nice, and that's what everybody called him all week.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Has he had he never heard of that?
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: No, he knew.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, he knew.
- 9:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm uh how do you how do you not know?
- 9:46SPEAKER_05: Of course, you know, of course.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: I wanted to like give him like two bottles of water and like shh shh you know what I'm gonna do you remember because I I know that I I know that I had posted on one of your one of your threads to say hi to Harriet.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: And she she said hi to me, which was cool.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Did I say anything about saying hi to Ed?
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: You did not.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: I did not.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, because out of the blue on Sunday at 7 p.m., I got a message.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: From Ed.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: Hi Brian, I hope you're doing well.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Still so special to be part of the ATLC Magic.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Thanks for sending your positive vibes.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: And I said, so pumped you are still bringing your magic.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: But I don't remember sending any positive vibes.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, I mean maybe I maybe I just was like through the universal channels on Facebook.
- 10:33SPEAKER_05: Right, yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but it was just kind of neat and kind of reached out.
- 10:37SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, Ed usually doesn't uh respond on Facebook.
- 10:41SPEAKER_05: So he he responded a few times on on some of my posts, and I was like, oh well, that's awesome.
- 10:47SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: Great to have him and Harriet.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course, yeah, yeah.
- 10:52SPEAKER_05: Of course, our our doctor, uh Matt Bellis.
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 10:55SPEAKER_05: Of course, dude is hilarious.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: I have never seen Matt Bellis.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's hilarious.
- 10:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's hilarious.
- 11:00SPEAKER_05: I mean, how how many how many people you know have a PhD and neuropsycho psycho psychology?
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 11:06SPEAKER_05: And is a stand-up comedian.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you you've told me all about him, my friend.
- 11:11SPEAKER_05: He's just so hilarious, man.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: So I love that guy.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: Cool.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: But yeah, it was a great week.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: Staff was great, kids were great, nice.
- 11:18SPEAKER_05: Weather was actually pretty great for once, except for the last day we got we got some pretty big thunderstorm like right at the end there.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: Just as the kids were all leak leaving, and it was just like downpour.
- 11:30SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 11:31SPEAKER_05: So it was pretty great.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And you were headed right down to our syndicate gig.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Yes, and I was very, very, very You're breaking the law.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: I wasn't no, I actually I wasn't speeding there, but when I got there, I got incredibly tired.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, I mean it was a long week for you.
- 11:46SPEAKER_05: It was a long week, and then that we were in if we'd have been outside, I would have been fine.
- 11:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but since we were inside, it was so hot in there.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, muggy.
- 11:54SPEAKER_05: And I was just I it just drained me by by the end by the intermission.
- 11:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was drained.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: I know, obviously, because we started without you.
- 12:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I was literally outside and talking to Dennis and Karen.
- 12:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and Kelly came as like, oh, they're starting.
- 12:08SPEAKER_05: I'm like, okay, I was built.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: And then then you jumped in, and I was like, oh well, okay.
- 12:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'll just jump in the next.
- 12:15SPEAKER_05: I I had to do like YMCA.
- 12:17SPEAKER_05: Which was fine.
- 12:18SPEAKER_05: I mean it was take your time, right?
- 12:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:21SPEAKER_05: It was I was I was drained by the end of it.
- 12:24SPEAKER_05: Man, I was so tired.
- 12:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't even know how I got home.
- 12:27SPEAKER_05: I don't remember.
- 12:27SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 12:28SPEAKER_05: I don't remember the drive.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: That's kind of scary, actually.
- 12:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, a little bit.
- 12:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: So um but here we are.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: We wanna I do want uh not to bring the podcast down, but so years and years ago, actually, if you listen to our first podcast, uh you'll remember us talking about how our radio career uh kind of wrapped up.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Um Is that the word we're using?
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: I'm uh I'm being kind.
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: Very, very kind.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: So uh we we That's like calling World War II a minor inconvenience.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: I don't think we I don't think we spoke ill of this person.
- 13:03SPEAKER_05: No, I don't I don't believe we I think we we were just kind of I think they were the I don't think they were the instigators I think it was higher up.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: We were confused.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: Uh as to what happened.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: But we're our our friend, um a former uh employer uh at Townsquare Media, she hasn't been there for a while and she's I mean she's long since gone from there.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Um been doing other things.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Um her name was Lisa and uh we lost her over the weekend.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was crazy.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Uh last Sunday, right?
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: No, the Sunday before.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Sunday before last.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, she was hiking with her daughter out in Utah and it was 105 degrees, she ran out of water and she sent her daughter to go back get the car, and by the time her daughter got back, she was she was not with us anymore.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: So and I I know that they had a we're doing this on Tuesday, they had a um uh calling hours yesterday in Canada.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: And I probably could have gone I I don't have my we're we're trying to get our passports upgraded.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Can you still just use your birth certificate?
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, because I I probably could have gone.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: But I I didn't.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: But the I did read in the obituary that they're gonna have a celebration, many celebrations of life, like because she split her time between uh New Brunswick and Holton.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: Um so hopefully they'll have something on this side.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: And because she didn't want a funeral, she wanted a celebration of life.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: So uh once we find out uh how we're gonna celebrate Lisa, we're I'm on board.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: I mean I don't know.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'd love to go, yeah, yeah.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Just to pay my respects.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know, that type of thing.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: So so rest in peace, Lisa Anderson, uh known to us back then as Lisa Miles.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Um tragic loss because she was young.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: She was very young.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:51SPEAKER_05: It was kind of kind of surprising.
- 14:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_05: So it was out of the blue because I didn't even thought of Lisa than like forever.
- 14:56SPEAKER_05: I know, right?
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: So, you know.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: So all right, not to bring the podcast down, even though I just did.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Let's bring her back up.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: I want to know where my daughter is.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Um so my son, my oldest boy, who's 21 now, uh, is getting married this Saturday.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: And I can't even I can't even wrap my head around that.
- 15:21SPEAKER_05: I know it's crazy, man.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Um so because of that, we have had well, he's not home because he's working right now, but he he'll be up.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: He he does an internship in Bar Harbor.
- 15:35SPEAKER_05: Oh, oh, it's uh Jackson Labs.
- 15:37SPEAKER_05: That's right, that's right.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: It's a legal internship.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: So he uh so he had to work most of this week and uh he'll be up Thursday.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Um but he was up last not last weekend, but the weekend.
- 15:50SPEAKER_05: Well he brought Anna Marie to camp.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Him and Kristen.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: He was up two weekends ago.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_05: Um Well, they were they were at our gig right before at the potato balls.
- 16:00SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Yep, so um and it was kind of nice to have all my kids under one roof.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Um and I know we've talked to uh Olivia over the phone.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Just to kind of find out what it is that she does, and you know we we were gonna do slip.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Remember we were gonna do like updates from Ohio?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: It was uh I think we still should.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Area code.
- 16:24SPEAKER_05: It just it just you know, whatever we want to call it.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: What's going down in the what's what's whatever the prefix to the what's the what's the what's the uh area code for uh Ohio?
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: What's the area code for Ohio?
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: No, no, not the area code.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Was that it?
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Or was it Virginia?
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, it was West Virginia, 304.
- 16:53SPEAKER_05: 304.
- 16:53SPEAKER_05: Well, it's going on in 304.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: No, no, it's what's what's going down in 304.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I can't remember what it was.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Come sit down, come sit, take that microphone.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Take that microphone.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Well, you don't have to talk a lot.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Just have have a seat right there.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, make sure you hold it right up there so you can know how to do it.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: I forget that's what she does for a living.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Um she's well versed.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: So uh welcome to the podcast.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: So this is my oldest, my firstborn, um, Olivia.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: And I wanted to uh everybody asked me what it is that you do.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And that's one of the things I wanted to talk about because it's so difficult, and you know it is.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: It's kind of difficult to explain what you do.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: I basically kind of just call you a producer.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Is that accurate?
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: Uh sort of.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I wear many hats.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: So my official title is videographer slash editor.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but yeah, but you do a lot more than that.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: Well, y yes.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: Was that your stomach or mine?
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: Not mine.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Was that your stomach?
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: That was you.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: That was me.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: That was weird.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: It was weird.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is like this is unlike any podcast you've ever been on.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: I haven't been on a podcast.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is true.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: She always produces.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:27SPEAKER_06: She was like, she she would take that out.
- 18:29SPEAKER_06: She'd be like, that that's that's not.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: We leave everything in.
- 18:37SPEAKER_05: Well, almost everything.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Almost everything.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is true.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: So, so a videographer and editor, which you are in a sense producing, though.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: So I do filming, I do editing, I record podcasts, I do video and audio.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: Um we sometimes I'm scheduling with presenters, sometimes I'm I'm I'm kind of like the um like we we all kind of know how to do everything, but I'm kind of like the main photographer on our team.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: But you you you schedule guests?
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: Not usually.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Um it's sometimes for for the podcast that we do, I'll organize that um and make sure that everybody gets it recorded and everything.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: But which essentially is a producer.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Because you you kinda there's all these these balls in play and you juggle them all and kind of make a cohesive thing for by the end.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: The end result is is right.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: But I think that that's no, you're a producer.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: I'm sticking with it.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: It's not the biggest part of what I do though.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: I I do a lot of filming and editing mostly.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Why do I want to call you more than just a videographer?
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Because uh you know, to me a videographer is like somebody up at WAGM that's holding the camera while they're doing the news.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: It's more than that.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: That's I feel like that's more of a camera operator.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: True.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: Um which yeah, because I yeah, I mean I I film stuff.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: We have a studio, so which I'm going to be learning once I get back like more of how to use that because uh we just got trained on it um recently, but um but so you do shoot video, but you edit the video.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: You record audio, you edit the audio.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: And do you do like social media or do you have somebody else that does that right now?
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: We have somebody else that does the social media, yeah.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: So but that still doesn't make it any easier.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: I can just say videographer slash editor.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: Can I keep saying producer?
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: If you want to, you can, but that's not it makes you sound cool.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: What does your daughter do?
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: She's a producer.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: She produces things.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: And uh uh executive producer, she's an executive executive producer.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah, just throw that in there.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Wait, executive, isn't that the one with the money?
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's not you.
- 21:19SPEAKER_08: Ouch! Thanks.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: It's not me either.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: So uh Jude's wedding.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're excited for it.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: You're the maid of honor.
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Sure am.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I've already been told how she's gonna be introduced by your son.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, because yes, because Finn is doing the DJing.
- 21:39SPEAKER_05: Yes, yes, which was a kind of a surprise to me.
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: Was it really?
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't think you told me that part.
- 21:44SPEAKER_05: Um because when I got here, I could hear this music thumping it.
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: And I was like, what is going on?
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: Because it's not your kind of music.
- 21:52SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:53SPEAKER_05: And I was like, well, it's definitely not him, so I didn't know what was going on.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: So I got in there.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: Finn is like, you know, friggin' P Diddy.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: You know, he's got the you know he got the headphones on.
- 22:02SPEAKER_05: He's working things.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: He's using your mixer, by the way.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: My mixer.
- 22:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_05: When did I have a mixer?
- 22:07unknown: Never mind.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: It's my mixer now.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: Very well.
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: I never knew I had a mixer.
- 22:14SPEAKER_04: When did I get a mixer?
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: It was a it's a it's a PV that we use for the podcast.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's right.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: I forgot that is my mixer.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: It is your mixer.
- 22:20SPEAKER_04: Give me my mixer back!
- 22:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:25SPEAKER_05: So anyway, I came in and he's like he's he's like so.
- 22:28SPEAKER_05: I was talking to Liv and she's like, oh yeah, Fiz DJ.
- 22:30SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, what?
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: She's like, yeah, he's MCing too, and he's already he already has how he's gonna introduce me.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: And she's I'm like, really?
- 22:37SPEAKER_05: He's like she's like, she's like, yeah, he's gonna be like, oh, it's the best man, Dominic, and Olivia.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: And my sister.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: It wasn't even my sister, it was just and yeah, so it should be uh it should be a fun time.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: I am actually looking forward to it.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be pretty fun.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:57SPEAKER_05: So have you I'm I'm I'm sad I'm going to miss the wedding part, but at least I'll be there for the yeah for the reception.
- 23:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: So uh have you spoken to to Jude recently?
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, I sent him a pic uh video of the of Finn DJing.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: He said awesome.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Let's see what he says after.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Um but no, I haven't really.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: I think there's I think there's there's a healthy level of stress you know, for both both he and his fiance.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: It's a big day, man.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: But I think I think it's gonna go off without a hitch because it's well planned, uh at least on some people's part.
- 23:48unknown: Jude didn't really do anything.
- 23:49SPEAKER_09: That's not true.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: Don't do a move.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: It's all his fiancee.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: He'll tell me, he'll tell you that though.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: He's like, You just say yes, right?
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: Yes, I do pretty much.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: No, he he has put a little time into it, yeah.
- 24:06SPEAKER_05: Well, I would hope so.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: So, but it's it's we're we're excited about it.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be fun.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: I think that's one of the things my wife had a bad day today, and I think that's one of the reasons uh is I think it's just hitting her, you know, that this is her baby that's uh not going to be her baby anymore.
- 24:25SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 24:26SPEAKER_05: Like the book says.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:30SPEAKER_05: I can't quote it exactly.
- 24:31SPEAKER_05: You know which one I'm talking about.
- 24:32SPEAKER_05: You know, yeah.
- 24:34SPEAKER_05: Forever my baby will be.
- 24:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 24:37SPEAKER_05: I love you forever.
- 24:38SPEAKER_05: I love you forever.
- 24:39SPEAKER_05: I like you for always.
- 24:41SPEAKER_05: Oh, forever you my baby will be Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: That's what that's that's I get that, but we were we were listening to uh mother's son songs because there's gonna be a mother's son dance.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course there is.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah, she she she got quite emotional.
- 24:55SPEAKER_05: So do we have one picked out yet?
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: We do.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna tell you what it is, though.
- 24:59SPEAKER_05: That's fine.
- 24:59SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't want to know yet.
- 25:01SPEAKER_05: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 25:01SPEAKER_05: I wouldn't have to do it.
- 25:02SPEAKER_05: I'm pretty sure that's a good choice.
- 25:03SPEAKER_05: Or I'm gonna be like, oh, that sucks! Turn it off!
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Well we got it down to two and we sent both of them to dude and we said which one do you like better?
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: And he he picked the first one, so that's the one we're going with.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: So cool.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it should be it'll be a tia jokka.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Tia Jaka?
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: A tia jokka.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for me anyway.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: I know that.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be a mess.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you are.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: But whatever.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: I'm getting I'm gaining a daughter.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: Actually, I'm gaining a whole freaking family.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Dude, you're gaining the Brady Bunch.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: That's what you're gaining.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: We talked about that over the weekend.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Just a couple days, we're gonna be relative.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: I can't great fan.
- 25:46SPEAKER_05: Because I got to spend uh a week with Anna Marie.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Yes, you did.
- 25:49SPEAKER_05: She is a trip.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:51SPEAKER_05: That girl is funny.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she is.
- 25:54SPEAKER_05: Energy.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Oh my.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: And and she is, and we discussed this too, she is not an introvert.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: No.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: She is an extrovert.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, did I tell you this story?
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Uh her mom, Hillary, told me this story.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: So uh we were at Stubinville.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: And Stubenville?
- 26:12SPEAKER_09: Stubenville.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: And we were uh they have this activity place where like between sessions you can go and you can throw a frisbee, you can play uh Jenga, you can play for um uh Connect Four, like giant Connect Four.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Oh you can throw a football around, blah blah blah.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Anyway, so This is in the convention?
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: This is in the convention center, big big room, big all sports, and kids from all over the place, all over the northeast, right?
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: And so uh Anne Marie's like, let's go, let's go get into a game or something like that.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: Of course, you know, my boys are like, Oh, I don't know, I don't know going in there.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: I don't you know I'm not gonna get into a game, I don't know these people, you know, that type of thing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: And she so she went right in, and she and so her mom and I were talking about how we're kind of introverts.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're we're kind of all introverts, and she's an extrovert, and she's like, Yes, she's yes, uh, she has no problem going up to people.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: Um I remember when she was three years old and we were living down uh state, they were going to some school down there or something, and and she said, and but all the all the the students that were in this, it was like a private school, all the students that were in the school were were not from the US.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: They were they were Arab and they were you know you know from all these different countries and they didn't really speak English.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: And so my daughter being the extrovert wanting to fit in, she would go up to these little kids in their face and say, and try and mimic their language, not knowing what she's saying.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: I just lost it.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: I stole it.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: She goes, she she's like, I'd have to go to their mother and say, I'm so sorry.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: She's an extrovert, for sure.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, for sure.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you saw that firsthand at 18.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: Oh my word.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: All right, what else for this kid?
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Because it looks like she really is uncomfortable.
- 28:11SPEAKER_05: I would no not what I was gonna say though, but what I was gonna say earlier is that she was born for this because I remember I remember when she was when you were like born for for your what you're doing.
- 28:21SPEAKER_05: What you're doing.
- 28:21SPEAKER_09: I was like, not for that.
- 28:22SPEAKER_05: Not for those, no, no, I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
- 28:25SPEAKER_05: Um uh no, but you were born for like video editing, because I remember those movies you used to make with the boys.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 28:31SPEAKER_04: Oh, they were hysterical.
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: I mean, you put like a lot of work.
- 28:34SPEAKER_04: I mean, there was like fading and there was music, and I was like, man, did freaking Steven Spielberg do this?
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: What the frick?
- 28:42SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 28:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, that was pretty so uh so when you when you went into this for uh a career, I was like, not surprised.
- 28:47SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah?
- 28:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and you're killing it.
- 28:49SPEAKER_05: So five five.
- 28:51unknown: There we go.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um, are we done with her?
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: Because I know that she wants to get out of here.
- 28:57SPEAKER_05: She wants to get out of here so bad.
- 29:01SPEAKER_05: She was like, I have a I have friends, you know.
- 29:04SPEAKER_05: They're gonna hear this.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: Uh go ahead and say goodbye and hand me the microphone and get out of here.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, bye.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Thank you for thank you for humoring us.
- 29:16SPEAKER_09: Oh thanks, Liv.
- 29:18SPEAKER_09: See ya.
- 29:23unknown: There.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: All right, now she's gone.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about her.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: Ah, she's a good sport.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: No, she's killing it, dude.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's yeah, she's she's got a good thing going.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, dude.
- 29:36SPEAKER_05: Where she is, so yeah, she's friggin'.
- 29:38SPEAKER_05: I mean I mean right out of school too, man.
- 29:39SPEAKER_05: She was just like, bang, I'm out of here.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Well, she she she had uh she I think I said that we talked about this one time.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: So so she uh had this job uh offer um in the job that she's in, yeah.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: And so she accepted it.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: And not long after that she got another job offer from another company that um was actually almost like bigger.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: You know, would have been would have been uh a better uh situation.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: We don't know for sure, actually, but it just looked looked really good.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: And she turned it down because she felt allegiance to the the the job that she had already accepted.
- 30:22SPEAKER_05: I totally get that.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah and that's just you know, that's kind of the person she is.
- 30:25SPEAKER_05: So and she's and I think she's happy that she did because I think she's I I yeah, I think she's thriving there, and and they appreciate that and they recognize that.
- 30:33SPEAKER_05: So yeah, she's doing really well.
- 30:35SPEAKER_05: I think she's very proud of her.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: So am I, and it's good to have her under the same roof, even though she's sleeping in the same room with my uh my youngest daughter, and my youngest daughter has to sleep on a cot, and she's not very happy about it.
- 30:48SPEAKER_05: It's only temporary.
- 30:49SPEAKER_05: I know, exactly.
- 30:50SPEAKER_05: She'll get over it.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Um okay, so enough about like personal stuff.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Let's get into the music because this is uh supposedly a music podcast.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: What?
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: What?
- 31:01SPEAKER_05: Who said that?
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: That's crazy talk.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: Um oh yeah, so I'll I'll mention I'm not gonna I'm not gonna um Larry, cousin Larry um sent us a message and wants us, he said he just listened to but this is something I recommend actually.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: Uh going back and listening to past podcast past episodes.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Um he just listened to our very first episode and he wanted us to rehash the Lie from Baghdad.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: The Covid the COVID 19 song.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: And I just read it to you and you don't remember it at all.
- 31:30SPEAKER_05: I have no recollection.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Uh there's a lot of swears in it, and obviously I didn't just one or two.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: I obviously I didn't read it on the podcast because unless I'd bleeped them out, but I don't think I did.
- 31:41SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 31:42SPEAKER_05: I don't know, man.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: I'd have to go back and listen.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: I would have to as well.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's that's something that uh you can do is is go back to uh we're on buzzsprout.com um and listen to all our past episodes because there's some funny stuff.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: We're not funny anymore.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: But uh there's some funny things.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: When were we funny?
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: There are some funny things in there.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: What?
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: No, trust me.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there have been some moments over the years.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, and uh speaking of moments and guests, um, so we mentioned that we lost our friend Lisa.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Well, I was the one that reached out to the sports freak to tell him about that.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: So we connected a little bit and uh he said anytime you want him on the podcast that that we'll do.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna arrange that.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: We'll arrange to have the while sports freak on.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: Uh he's also in a good place.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: So good.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: Um glad to hear it.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: So we'll uh we'll reach out to the sports freak and have him on um pretty soon.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: Uh to the music.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Black Sabbath.
- 32:49SPEAKER_01: It's a band.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: It is a band.
- 32:51SPEAKER_05: It's a song also.
- 32:52SPEAKER_05: Did you know that um there's like rumblings.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: I don't shut up, I put up rumblings of a of a short black Sabbath reunion.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: Did you know that?
- 33:14SPEAKER_05: I I I'm not surprised.
- 33:16SPEAKER_05: Because anytime any band says, Oh, this is it, I'm always like, sure.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't know that I see it happening because I mean Ozzy's in not good shape.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Ozzy has some uh some health issues.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Um but I think it started with him, actually, because Bill Ward, the drummer, is not talking to anybody.
- 33:33SPEAKER_06: No.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: Um, well, I mean, if he is uh My name's the drummer, he doesn't speak very well anyway.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: So I mean stuff with sticks.
- 33:42unknown: Yeah.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: He wrote a book, or Geezer Butler wrote.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Geezer Butler wrote a book.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Um I think Bill Ward did too.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: Maybe I'm wrong.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: Anyway, um Ozzy was on a podcast one time and he said he didn't like the way they ended Black Sabbath.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: You know, um because it was just kind of um left hanging and there was no closure.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: So he he would be open, he would like to uh play again with the original members.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: Because when they did that tour, because they put out that album, was it 13?
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: 13.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: Um they had a different they had a different drummer.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: Bill Ward Bill Ward didn't play with them.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: No.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Um I can't even remember, it was a famous drummer too.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: I can't remember who it was.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: Well, not famous, famous, but Google to the rescue.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Um but Google.
- 34:31SPEAKER_05: Who played on the newest black uh uh never mind, hold on.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: I don't think it was the album, it was the tour, but maybe he played on the album.
- 34:38SPEAKER_05: Was it Chad?
- 34:39SPEAKER_05: It wasn't Chad Smith.
- 34:40SPEAKER_05: It wasn't Chad Smith.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: No, he's not I'm pretty sure it was a it was a well-known drummer.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're typing it now.
- 34:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 34:50SPEAKER_05: Because I I sound like an idiot.
- 34:52SPEAKER_05: Uh drum.
- 34:53SPEAKER_05: How's that different than from other dumb?
- 34:54SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 35:01SPEAKER_05: Black Sabbath album.
- 35:03SPEAKER_05: Album or tour or okay, so uh Tommy Klufetos.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: That was the album?
- 35:10SPEAKER_05: Uh played drums on Black Sabbath's 13 album during their uh during their Black Sabbath reunion tour.
- 35:17SPEAKER_05: Uh I thought it was somebody Kofitos replaced the band's original drummer, Bill Ward, after Ward and Ozzie Osborne had falling out.
- 35:23SPEAKER_05: Kofitos also played drums on the band's final tour, the End Tour, in 2016.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, see, no, I guess I thought it was I uh maybe he is well known, but I don't know him.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Do you know him?
- 35:32SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 35:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:33SPEAKER_05: Uh well here's another one.
- 35:35SPEAKER_05: It says uh on 12 January 2013, Black Sabbath announced that the album would be call 13, was expected to be released in June.
- 35:42SPEAKER_05: It was also out.
- 35:42SPEAKER_05: It was also announced that drummer Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machines.
- 35:46SPEAKER_05: That's what it was.
- 35:47SPEAKER_05: And Audio Slave joined in during recording sessions to complete the album complete the drum tracks for the album.
- 35:52SPEAKER_05: Maybe that's what I heard.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: So it was probably him on the uh on the actual recording.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I knew I knew I heard some sort of well-known drummer was involved.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: But anyway, so he he put this like little seed out there, like I I didn't like the way it ended, and blah blah blah blah.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: And so uh Geezer Butler and Tony Ayomi are are still talking and blah blah blah.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: And then Bill Ward said I could play.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Even though they didn't let him.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: I mean he and they're talking about not making it a tour and really not making it a concert, but doing like six songs somewhere.
- 36:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, just do like an EP.
- 36:28SPEAKER_05: Just do something, you know.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, not not a release.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: They wanted like tour.
- 36:32SPEAKER_05: Oh, just or they just you know, get that sphere in Vegas.
- 36:37SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, even if they they just did, you know, an hour.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Everybody would love it.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: Well, they'd only really need to play a couple songs.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: Why not?
- 36:47SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 36:48SPEAKER_05: I mean, just just prop Ozzy up in a chair, man.
- 36:51SPEAKER_05: It'd be alright, man.
- 36:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 36:52SPEAKER_05: Like uh Phil Collins did on his last tour.
- 36:54SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 36:54SPEAKER_05: You know, he sat in a chair the whole time.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: So along those lines, Tony Iomie has a new instrumental song called Deified, uh to get this, to coincide with a new perfume of the same name released in partnership with Zerjoff Group.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: So Tony Iomi on.
- 37:15SPEAKER_05: So Tony Iomie has released a perfume and a song.
- 37:18SPEAKER_05: Apparently.
- 37:19unknown: Yep.
- 37:20SPEAKER_05: What the actual F.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: Uh Deified Mark Iomie's second joint venture with uh this group or this uh company behind the 2021 Fragrance Monkey Special, which was also accompanied by an instrumental song called Scent of Dark.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: So he's marketing, he's he's um selling perfume now.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: So he's trying to make money.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Apparently.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: In a weird way.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: So this is a little bit of uh Deified from Tony Iomi.
- 38:53SPEAKER_05: Oh, here we go.
- 38:58SPEAKER_05: Why is Airwolf on here?
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: It's very dark.
- 39:03SPEAKER_05: It is, it's uh you know, it's a very dark cartoon drawing.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: I mean the music too is very dark.
- 39:10SPEAKER_05: But I'm not surprised by that.
- 39:13SPEAKER_05: I'm a little confused by this why airwolf and uh you know Maverick are going after this.
- 39:19SPEAKER_05: Oh, there's Tanoki right there.
- 39:25SPEAKER_05: Wait, who's that other guy?
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know, is that it almost looks like Peter Frampton?
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: It's not though.
- 39:31SPEAKER_04: That's not that's not Peter Frampton.
- 39:33SPEAKER_04: Be funny if it was Peter Frampton.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: He's 76.
- 39:38SPEAKER_05: New Tony Iomi.
- 39:39SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 39:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: So anyway, there's that.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: So I I I I was excited because I saw that and I was like, oh, there's a new song from Tony Iomi.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: Uh now I'm disappointed because A, it's an instrumental.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but B, it's for a perfume.
- 39:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and that that's that that kind of blows, but you know, the song isn't bad.
- 40:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's not great, but it's not bad.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, uh, one thing I did want to talk about a little bit was I've been seeing, because I follow I follow these guys on every social media.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: I have been seeing footage, and I don't know if you have as well, of the best of all worlds tour.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Sammy Hagar, Mike Anthony, oh yeah, Joe Satriani, Jason Bonham, and another guy named Ray from Australia, I think.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Ray, Ray.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Um and I so want to go see this show.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: And I was listening to our our best friend uh today, Eddie Trunk.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, how is Eddie?
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: Uh Eddie's good.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: Just ask him, he'll tell you.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: Hey Eddie.
- 40:40SPEAKER_06: Um Eddie.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: Um it's so funny because I was listening I was listening to it and my wife gets a my wife opens the door to get in the car.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: She's like, I hate this guy.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: So I turned it off.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: So do we, but we listen to him.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: It's like I don't hate him.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: I I don't necessarily, you know, I like the content.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's the only one doing it.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: And I think uh yeah, anyway.
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: So uh he was talking about how everybody's uh giving rave reviews and how saying how amazing this concert is, this this this tour is.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: Um because they're doing stuff like they're doing stuff that they wouldn't normally do.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Or you would or you haven't heard live in concert for two decades, three decades, you know.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: Um and Satriani is um doing Eddie Proud.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm sure.
- 41:36SPEAKER_05: I have no doubt.
- 41:37SPEAKER_01: I I heard an interview with him.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: He was because what what uh Trunk is doing is is um like last week he had Sammy on, and this week yesterday he had Joe Satriani on.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: He's gonna have Mike Anthony on the week after that, and then Jason Bonham, and they're just gonna kind of check in from the tour.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: They're taking the tour to Japan, I think.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Um and it's just here's not a tour until you go to Japan.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 42:06SPEAKER_05: They love rock and roll, man.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: Well, you know that song Can't Stop Loving You?
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: That's not in the set list right now.
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: But Sammy said that if when they go to Japan, Joe has to learn that song because that was huge in Japan.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't so Japanese people love rock and rock.
- 42:22SPEAKER_05: Oh, yes, they love American rock.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: They do, they do.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: Um, and so I'm really, really because they just played in Massachusetts when I was down there.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: And I'm really bumming that I'm I'm not seeing because he's going to be 77 in October.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: Um so this is the last one.
- 42:44SPEAKER_05: Maybe.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: He doesn't have to do it.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: But none of them have to do it.
- 42:50SPEAKER_05: Which means they're gonna keep doing it.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: Well, he's gonna keep it going.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, because it was originally just a s a smaller tour, right?
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: Uh nationwide tour, but but but um not like extended.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: And now they're going to Japan, and he has always said, Sammy has always said, that depending on the reaction and how he feels and how they all feel, maybe they'll keep it going.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: So that would be awesome.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: But I don't see them going for like three years.
- 43:24SPEAKER_05: On one tour?
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:25SPEAKER_05: No, I don't see that, but they're gonna do they'll do this and then you know, maybe take a year off and maybe do it again.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: And what else is amazing is Sammy's voice.
- 43:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it still sounds great.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I think some of the songs might be tuned down a little bit, but he still sounds amazing.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: At almost seventy seven years old.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm just like blown away.
- 43:48SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: Just blown away.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Really is amazing.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: And there are there are no that we that I that Trunk could speak of or that I can speak of, there are no negative reviews of this show.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: It's all positive.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: So I'm jealous.
- 44:05SPEAKER_05: I really want to go see the show.
- 44:06SPEAKER_05: Well, let's go to Japan and see it.
- 44:08SPEAKER_05: No.
- 44:10SPEAKER_05: Let's let's sell everything we own and just buy tickets to Japan and go to see the show.
- 44:15SPEAKER_05: Well, I mean And then we'll come back and destitute pottery poverty.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: I'm just hoping that that when they come back that it actually continues.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: You know, they'll take a break for a little while and then you can see that.
- 44:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and then come up and they'll be like, hey, we're gonna play the forum and press guy.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: No, but they could play Bangor.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: They could pack Bangor.
- 44:34SPEAKER_05: Well, I know they could.
- 44:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 44:35SPEAKER_05: You know, I want them to come up here because I don't want to drive to Bangor.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I would though.
- 44:40SPEAKER_05: I want I would in Harvey, but I don't want to.

- 44:46SPEAKER_05: I don't like going places.
- 44:47SPEAKER_05: I don't like people.
- 44:50SPEAKER_05: It's getting harder and harder to like people.

- 45:06SPEAKER_05: Not that I'm counting.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Is that what you're gonna do?
- 45:08SPEAKER_05: It's just kind of Yeah, I'm gonna disappear.
- 45:10SPEAKER_05: You're never gonna hear from me again.
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: Well you are.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: I will.

- 45:39SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: We had a question that we were supposed to answer two weeks ago.
- 45:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 45:42SPEAKER_05: Well I don't remember what it was.
- 45:43SPEAKER_05: It was the um um it was you're going through your closet and you find a album.
- 45:52SPEAKER_05: And what's the album?
- 45:55SPEAKER_05: What's the song?
- 45:58SPEAKER_05: What's the album?
- 45:58SPEAKER_05: What's the song?
- 45:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that you find in your closet.
- 46:01SPEAKER_05: I thought we already did that one.
- 46:03SPEAKER_05: No.
- 46:04SPEAKER_05: It has to be judged.
- 46:05SPEAKER_05: It's been judged.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, that's that's the one that's being judged.
- 46:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we didn't we didn't ask a new one because we knew we were Because we were gonna take the week off.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's what I'm asking.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Did we have a new one that we needed an answer for?
- 46:14SPEAKER_05: Yes, we do.
- 46:14SPEAKER_05: And I have the answer from our lovely and talented judge.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, I remember I picked Jude Cole.
- 46:19SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 46:20SPEAKER_05: And Cousin Larry did Back and Black.
- 46:23SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 46:23SPEAKER_05: And I think Hell's Bells was his song.
- 46:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 46:26SPEAKER_05: Uh and I did uh Dockin'.
- 46:30SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 46:30SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 46:31SPEAKER_05: In my dreams.
- 46:32SPEAKER_05: Uh so I will tell you me.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: You sound like Anna Marie.
- 46:43SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 46:44SPEAKER_05: Tell you, man, that kid is funny.
- 46:49SPEAKER_05: Uh-oh.
- 46:50SPEAKER_05: I lost it.
- 46:51SPEAKER_05: Uh-oh.
- 46:52SPEAKER_05: Anyway, uh, I won.
- 46:54SPEAKER_05: So she picked in my dreams.
- 46:57SPEAKER_05: She did?
- 46:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 46:58SPEAKER_05: So I I I thought I'd save the uh conversation, but I did not.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: So I think it's I think it's rigged because she's your friend.
- 47:05SPEAKER_05: No, it's not rigged.
- 47:06SPEAKER_05: I mean, we've all won equal a number of times.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: Um, so let's ask a new question.
- 47:12SPEAKER_05: Let's ask a new question.
- 47:13SPEAKER_05: I think I I think I like your I think I like you the cut of your jib.
- 47:18SPEAKER_05: Oh, this is a good one.
- 47:20SPEAKER_05: What is your favorite hair metal song?
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
- 47:25SPEAKER_05: That's a loaded question.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: That is a yes.
- 47:28SPEAKER_05: Oh no.
- 47:28SPEAKER_05: I'm so stupid.
- 47:29SPEAKER_05: What?
- 47:31SPEAKER_05: I put the cover in the box again.
- 47:32SPEAKER_05: Remember, remember the box.
- 47:34SPEAKER_04: Oh wait, here we go.
- 47:34SPEAKER_04: Hey, look at that! Woohoo! Just get right out.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: Um, so should we answer that now so that it can be judged for next week?
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: Or yeah.
- 47:47SPEAKER_05: So Yeah, because we don't have another one on uh Well no, because we gotta send it to Cousin Larry, so right.
- 47:54SPEAKER_05: So we'll have to wait.
- 47:56SPEAKER_05: Take a picture of that.
- 47:57SPEAKER_01: So so what's your favorite hair band song?
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: Hair metal song.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: Hair metal song.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: Hair metal song.
- 48:02SPEAKER_05: See, that's tough.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: I know, right?
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: That's tough.
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: And and that also depends on you know your your definition of hair metal.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: You know, because is Def Leopard hair metal?
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: I don't think so, but they probably are considered hair metal.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: True.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Um Van Halen is not hair metal.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: But considered hair metal?
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: I don't think they are.
- 48:29SPEAKER_05: I think I think in some circles they are.
- 48:31SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 48:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 48:34SPEAKER_05: Now is that my circle?
- 48:35SPEAKER_05: No.
- 48:35SPEAKER_05: But you know, it is what it is.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: I would not consider Van Halen hair metal, and I would not consider Dev Leopard hair metal, even though they're played on hair nature all the time.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: But see, hair metal to me is like poison.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: I would not consider Tesla hair metal.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: No.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: But a lot of people would.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: I think of poison.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: I think of uh Motley Crew.
- 49:01SPEAKER_01: Um I don't know.
- 49:04SPEAKER_01: I don't have to think about it.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be a hard one.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: Warrant would be hair metal.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: I would consider them hair metal, yeah.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: Uh Dawkin probably would be hair metal.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: I would be, yeah.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 49:13SPEAKER_05: All those guys that wore makeup, yeah.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: So that oh yeah, you know.
- 49:19SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so we'll uh get that answer for next week.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: And uh we're gonna take a break.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: And we'll come back, we'll climb the wall of tunes.

- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Actually, you could probably start reading.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: I could probably start reading right now.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: This is from a hard day's right now.
- 51:21SPEAKER_05: I don't know how long it's going.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 51:23SPEAKER_05: Let me think.
- 51:24SPEAKER_05: Uh it's gonna end right about now.
- 51:26SPEAKER_05: And then we'll wait and see if I was actually right.
- 51:29SPEAKER_05: Okay, so this one's a very short one.
- 51:30SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 51:31SPEAKER_05: So you better pick fast.
- 51:32SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 51:33SPEAKER_05: Uh the song from A Hard Days Right by Steve Turner is from the Help soundtrack.
- 51:39SPEAKER_05: And the song is You're gonna lose that girl.
- 51:42unknown: You're gonna lose that.
- 51:43SPEAKER_05: Lose that girl, yes.
- 51:44SPEAKER_05: Alright, so uh The Beatles sang this in a scene in Help, set in the recording studio, which is filmed at Twickingham Film Studios.
- 51:53SPEAKER_05: The song is interrupted when the gang chasing Ringo cut a hole around his drum kit from the ceiling of the room below.
- 52:01SPEAKER_10: You're gonna lose that.
- 52:02SPEAKER_10: Right there.
- 52:03SPEAKER_05: Written mainly by John, but completed with Paul at his Weybridge home.
- 52:08SPEAKER_05: The song is a warning to an unidentified male that if he doesn't start treating his girlfriend right, John is gonna move in on her.
- 52:16SPEAKER_05: Developing a theme he first outlined in She Loves You.
- 52:19SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:21SPEAKER_06: So there you go.
- 52:28SPEAKER_05: You can hear Ringo on the uh bongos in the background.
- 52:31SPEAKER_10: If you don't treat her right, my friend, you're gonna find her find her.
- 52:45SPEAKER_05: When when you watch this movie and you see this scene, the funniest part of it is Ringo smoking a cigarette the entire time he's playing.
- 52:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:56SPEAKER_05: So just a different time.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: A different time, for sure.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: So Okay.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: Um I have an album.
- 53:04SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 53:05SPEAKER_05: I have a guess.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 53:07SPEAKER_05: I don't really have a guess.
- 53:09SPEAKER_05: Uh is it a band?
- 53:10SPEAKER_05: It is a band.
- 53:10SPEAKER_05: Oh wait, you didn't say the you didn't say the thing.
- 53:12SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 53:13SPEAKER_05: Let the guessing begin.
- 53:15SPEAKER_05: Okay, now we can officially begin.
- 53:16SPEAKER_05: Is it a band?
- 53:17SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 53:18SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 53:18SPEAKER_05: That was easy.
- 53:20SPEAKER_05: Do I know this band?
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 53:23SPEAKER_05: Is it one of my favorite bands?
- 53:25SPEAKER_05: No.
- 53:26SPEAKER_05: Oh no.
- 53:26SPEAKER_05: No.
- 53:27SPEAKER_05: Is it a country band?
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: No.
- 53:29SPEAKER_05: Rock band?
- 53:30SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 53:30SPEAKER_05: How do you know it's not one of my favorites?
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: Uh I just do.
- 53:36SPEAKER_01: We know this is a band.
- 53:37SPEAKER_05: Does it sound a lot like Nickelback?
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: No.
- 53:41SPEAKER_05: One of these days I am gonna pick Nickelback though.
- 53:44SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be crazy because I love Nickelback.
- 53:48SPEAKER_01: Actually, Morton was telling me the other day at the gig, he said, Did you watch that Nickelback documentary?
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: Like, uh, no.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: It was great.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: They were they're a great band.
- 54:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 54:00SPEAKER_01: Don't let Doug hear you say that.
- 54:04SPEAKER_05: I didn't know there was a Nickelback documentary.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: Apparently it's pretty good, but you know, they explore the hatred that people have for Nickelback.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: So I can't explain it.
- 54:16SPEAKER_05: I I I don't hate Nickelback, I just don't like them.
- 54:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:18SPEAKER_05: I'm just tired of them.
- 54:19SPEAKER_01: Like Taylor Swift.
- 54:21SPEAKER_01: You're tired of them, but they haven't been played on the radio for a decade.
- 54:25SPEAKER_05: Well, I have I have a long memory, okay?
- 54:29SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: It's not Nickelback.
- 54:33SPEAKER_05: I'm just tired of that chat game.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: We do know this band intimately though.
- 54:37SPEAKER_01: We do?
- 54:38SPEAKER_01: Come across it.
- 54:55SPEAKER_01: I know them intimately.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: You just know them.
- 55:03SPEAKER_05: Right now.
- 55:04SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: I always forget that my belly.
- 55:09SPEAKER_05: There we go.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: Um I happen to pick this one.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: Uh it's the second album.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: Ah yeah.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: Um the first written exclusively by you.
- 55:21SPEAKER_01: Uh no.
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: Mostly.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: There were actually, so the first album, so we should backtrack.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: Uh this is a rock band that I was in for eight years?
- 55:33SPEAKER_05: Eight, ten years, somewhere around that.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: 2001 to 2009.
- 55:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, so about eight years.
- 55:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, about eight years.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: And when I joined, uh, one of the reasons I joined was, hey, can we do original music?
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: I was like, yeah, sure.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: So we put out a f an an alb an album that wasn't that good.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: Um wasn't recorded that well, I should say.
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: Um but I wrote the majority of the songs on the first album, but I because I was new in the band, I gave them like like credit as like written by the rock dogs.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: But I wrote most of the songs.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: On this one, I was like, screw that, I'm taking credit for the songs that I wrote.
- 56:11SPEAKER_01: So I myself wrote uh one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, seven out of eleven.
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: And then I co-wrote uh the rest of them with a couple of guys in the band.
- 56:30SPEAKER_05: So exclusively written by I was right in first place.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: Uh this was actually uh this was a better recorded album.
- 56:38SPEAKER_05: Um that's the one you did down Blue Hill, right?
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: Uh nope, the Blue Hill one was the first album.
- 56:44SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: That wasn't that this one was in Westbrook um by a guy that now does like big time albums.
- 56:55SPEAKER_01: Um I'll just give you an example.
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: So this is from the first album.
- 57:01SPEAKER_01: This is just the quality, okay?
- 57:03SPEAKER_01: This is the like really Timmy.
- 57:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: See, no, I like this, I wrote this song.
- 57:12SPEAKER_01: I like this song.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: But like rock rock songs for a band like this is math.
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: You know, and it's like it's it's I'm not intimately like I'm not, I don't care about these songs.
- 57:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 57:24SPEAKER_01: It's just like fill in the blanks.
- 57:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 57:25SPEAKER_01: That type of thing.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: But this is a fun song, and it would have been really cool if it was recorded the right way.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: So uh let's see.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: Similar type song.
- 57:36SPEAKER_01: I wrote this one.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: This is on the album that I chose.
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: So the album that I chose is called House Call.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: It is the second album from the Rock Docs.
- 57:45SPEAKER_01: Already the quality's better.
- 57:47SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, very much hope.
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: So there is a there is a I don't know.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: I have like mixed emotions when it comes to this stuff because you know, I was writing songs that I didn't care about, um, but there were songs that I did care about that I showed the band, and they're like, let's do that.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: And I didn't want to.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: But this is a Comic Crossing song.
- 58:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: And I mean that's Shane's bass line.
- 58:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 58:35SPEAKER_01: He wrote that.
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 58:38SPEAKER_01: Which now that you think I think about it, you can't even hear it.
- 58:41SPEAKER_05: Not really, you know, it's kind of buried.
- 58:45unknown: Walked into the pet.
- 58:46SPEAKER_01: And obviously, this is not me singing, this is our leader.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: But although I I think this version was okay.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: It was just weird to have them do it.
- 59:01SPEAKER_05: Well, they did another one that we had that we had recorded.
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: Which they completely completely changed.
- 59:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 59:07SPEAKER_01: Actually, I should that'd be kind of fun.
- 59:09SPEAKER_01: We'll do the difference between those two.
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:11SPEAKER_08: Uh I just like when this kicked out.
- 59:24SPEAKER_08: Always asking questions.
- 59:48SPEAKER_01: Okay, so so there's that.
- 59:50SPEAKER_01: I'll go back here.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: I just want to show you.
- 59:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, my stomach's making weird noises.
- 59:55SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's okay.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see.
- 59:59SPEAKER_01: So that was that was Rock Doc's version of that song.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_01: And this.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_01: This is more the way it was written.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: With that acoustic guitar and and you can hear the bass a little better.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_08: Welcome to the past.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_01: Much better singer, too.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_08: Much better looking too.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_01: Alright, so let me go back.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_08: It's a new code.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: This is kinda kinda neat.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: I don't think I don't know if we've ever done this before.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_01: Do I have?
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_01: Do I have big old lower stuff?
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know, baby.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, there we go.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_01: This is in the 90s.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: So this is, of course, it's just like a demo.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: This is like the chipmunk singing.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: Have we already done this?
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_01: Well, like compared these two.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_05: I don't think we've compared them now.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_01: So this could be the rock dice version of that funny disturbed.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: Sounds more like yes.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it sounds like 15 seconds.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's it's it's just a weird thing.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_01: When you I like it.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: When you compare the two.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_01: Uh I was proud of this riff.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: Uh the rest of the band liked the opening riff of this song.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_01: I'm going back to the house call album again.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: Um, but then it just kind of got like our drummer was very rock and roll.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: Oh yes.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_01: And he didn't like like the pop melody this went to.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, in in retrospect, I don't either.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: I do like I do like this riff.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_01: But the rest of the song was kind of uh this song has some pretty cool lyrics in it, made in the shade.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_01: The yellow brick road's gonna we'll need a second coat.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_01: We're raising hell in the land of Oz.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_01: Um you're gonna know my name and how I had it made in the shade.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_01: If there's a prize for fame that I believe I overpaid.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_01: Um I that's pretty cool.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_05: Um it's good.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_05: It's good.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_01: I did I did find out that they're done, by the way.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, they are?
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're done.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_01: Because uh it was funny.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_01: I had uh another lead singer from back in those days, uh from a different band, uh message me with a picture of the rock talk soundboard and it had my name on it.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: Still?
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well yeah, and there was a sticker that said Brian on it.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_01: And so he sent me the picture, and he said, I had to think for a second who this was, but then it it hit me, you know, it because I haven't been in the band for years.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_01: And uh apparently he bought all the rock dogs gear.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_01: So they sold all their stuff.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: So they're done.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're done.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: That's a good indication that's a good one.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_01: That's a good indication that they're done.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_01: So which was you know, I mean they hadn't played in years anyway.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_05: I hadn't heard from them play anywhere for a long, long, long, long.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: I left them in 2009.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_01: We were on our third lead singer at that point.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_01: Um and uh it was just, you know, I love playing rock and roll, but when you play the same songs all the time, and and it it can get Even if even if you like the songs, I mean like A C D C over and over and over and over again.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: Is grading.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_01: You know, especially especially when you're when you like other things, you know.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_01: And that's we have already told the story how how I started doing solo stuff and then you came up and we got comedy crossing back together and stuff like that.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_01: So but yeah, I just it's funny that I chose this one.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_01: Um this was 2004.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: Must I was a little 20 years old.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's 20 years old.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_01: Unbelievable.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_01: Um every once in a while, so so Richie the drummer is like he has an RV and his he and his wife travel.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_01: Um the uh Hank Ford is still uh um still working up here on the hill.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_01: Um he's got his practice.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_01: He is the only doctor.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the actual doctor, too.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the only actual doctor.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_01: Uh who else?
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, so well, actually, not anymore.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_01: No, uh, because Dr.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_01: Fournier, Renee Fournier, took my place.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_01: So there were two doctors in the band.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: Ah.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_01: Greg Bidelman, last I knew, was working.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: He's a guitar player.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_01: He was working as a salesman in a building store in Caribou.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_05: Ah, okay.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_05: Uh who else was in the band?
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_05: Was that it?
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_05: Well, the lead singer, what were the lead singers doing?
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, um, I don't know what the lead singers are doing.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_01: Um He wasn't even from up here, was he?
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_01: The so so uh there was a guy named Mark Couturier who s who s was the first actually I don't think he was the first lead singer, but he was he was the most well known at the beginning because I think they started out as mostly doctors.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: And then the guy, the doctor that was singing, left and then they got marked pretty quickly.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: So I you know he was basically the original lead singer.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_01: Um when they built their following.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: So he m he moved away uh after our first album.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_01: He didn't really like I don't think he liked the direction we were going.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_01: Um so he moved away, and we got this other guy who sounded just like uh well, I mean, I think he sounded just like, but he could sing ACDC really well.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_01: All right, yeah.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_01: And he could sing Journey pretty well.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Um and his name was John Dickey, but he was from Millinocket.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_01: And so I think there was a a uh a a case of lead singer's disease for him, uh, and I think we fired him.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: I don't remember that too well.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_05: Well, I thought he was still singing when you left.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_01: Uh I I I believe we got rid of John.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: And and for I can't remember what the reason was, but there was yeah, I believe we got rid of him because we hired a guy named Jared.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_01: Uh Jared Carney, who was more of a like alternative singer.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: You know, more more like new rock.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_01: And we started to try and do some new stuff, like we did um what was uh what was that?
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: Theory of a dead man and things like that.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: You know, we just kind of went down that I vaguely remember that.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so I remember at a gig in Holton, we we were playing Holton and we stayed at a hotel.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: And I this was the beginning, this is the end of 2008, I think.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_01: Um and I sat in a chair and I told him, I said, I'm done.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_01: I think I'm done.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_00: What?
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm not gonna do it anymore.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: And yeah, right, whatever.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_01: I said, Don't I'm done.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_01: And I ended up um so that was basically that was my notice.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_01: Because they had some gigs lined up.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: So I ended up playing those couple gigs and uh filling in for another one or something in 2009, but 2009 officially was my last hour with those guys.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_01: Um I'm not gonna say there are aspects of it that I don't miss.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna say there are aspects of it.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna say there are aspects that I don't miss, but I mostly don't miss it.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean it was just you know, it's just uh it was just a different vibe, just different, you know.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_05: It was loud, I remember that.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_05: It was loud.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_05: I worked I worked security at one of your gigs.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_05: And uh unnecessarily loud.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_04: So loud.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_04: I was like, good lord.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was really just ridiculous.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_01: It really was.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_01: I I I I don't understand why.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, like we I now I bring a tiny amp for the syndicate shows.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_01: You know, and uh we're loud because of the horns, but we're not we're not even close to what the rock docks were.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_05: Oh no, they know they were just insanely loud.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, it was unreal.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_01: Anyway, I don't know where you can find that.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you can find that album anywhere.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_01: Probably not.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: Used to be in Blue Moose, but I don't think it is anymore.
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_01: That's probably in your local pawn shop.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_05: Probably.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_05: Um or it could be like our album.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_05: I got like a stack of them at home.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_01: Do you?
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_01: I think I have two or three here.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_01: I have now as far as my solo album, I have boxes and boxes and boxes.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_01: So maybe I'll just start giving those away.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_05: Be like, hey, yeah, look, look what I did a long time ago.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_05: Long time ago.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_05: Um all right, so that's Rock Docs.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_05: I vaguely have remember having a conversation with Joel at the last gig about Common Crossing.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_01: About Common Crossing what?
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_05: About Common Crossing playing and talking to John about recording us.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_01: Like recently?
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_05: Like like at the last gig.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_01: Like recording our new album.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_05: Like recording an album, yeah.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, I don't think I heard that part.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_05: Like I said, I was very tired.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_05: I I maybe you were imagining it.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_05: No, I'm pretty sure I had this conversation.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_05: Because Joel said something and I said something, and then John said something, and I said something, and I'm pretty sure it happened.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_00: That says something.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_05: I mean, you could tell it was an edifying conversation.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_05: Of course.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_05: I remember exactly what was that.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_05: Joel said, Hey Doug, you're the best tambourine player ever.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_05: And I was like, ah no, I was even better in Comic Crossing.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_05: And John was like, Comic crossing, are you still doing stuff in Comic Crossing?
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_05: I was like, not yet, but we want you to record our album.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_05: That's that's what I said.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_01: And then John said, sure.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_05: And John was like, absolutely.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_05: He said, I do remember saying this, all that other stuff I made up.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_05: But I do remember him saying this.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_05: He's like, I would love to, I would love to record you guys.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_05: I think the cats would hate it.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_05: But it would be great.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_01: So well, you know what?
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_01: I want to record um uh Skinny Elvis.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_01: I want to record that song deeper.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: But I want to do it at the lodge because of the high ceilings.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_05: At the l what lodge?
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_01: The where we rehearse.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, wouldn't that be with a carpet and the high ceilings?
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, it would sound good.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we should be recording there.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_05: We should be recording there.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_05: Well we'll have to talk to Simonov.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_05: I'd tell him bring us bring bring some gear.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_01: I'm down.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_01: I'm down.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_01: Heck yeah, I mean.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_01: That's episode 205.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_01: Uh in the books.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_01: It is done.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_01: It is done.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_01: It is done.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_01: It is finished.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_01: Um, it's kind of a slow comeback from a week off.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was nice to have my daughter on.
- 1:13:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was nice.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_05: Should have her on more often.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:13:34SPEAKER_05: She's going back on Monday.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_01: But whatever.
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, we could call.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_01: We could, once I figure out how to do that again.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_05: True.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_05: Zoom or something.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_05: True.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_05: Just think this time.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_05: She's more technologically advanced than both of us put together.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 1:13:49SPEAKER_01: Uh she could figure out a way.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_01: This time next week, I will have a married son.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_05: You'll you will be officially a father-in-law.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_01: I will be officially a father-in-law.
- 1:13:57SPEAKER_01: And I will be tied forever.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_01: And you'll have to the Blanche family.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_05: 75 more kids.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_01: I think they're going to wait.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_01: Um until he gets out of school.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_05: No, no.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_05: I'm not I'm not even I'm not even getting into when Jude and Kristen finally have started having kids.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yes, you're right.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_01: You they already have 72.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, now I I take I take three of them to swimming lessons three days three days a week.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, see.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_01: You know, I already, you know, and she and she picks up Myra and brings her back.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_01: They're already tied.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_01: All right, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_01: Which is you are absolutely fine with me.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're great people.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_01: So yeah, the best.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_01: All right.
