Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now I believe that I am joined on the line
- 0:04Speaker 1: right now, and plenty of you have obviously viewed this
- 0:07Speaker 1: vision from earlier in the week when there was a
- 0:11Speaker 1: brawl outside the poor old I g a there in
- 0:15Speaker 1: Fanny Bay. Now I believe that I've gosh on the
- 0:18Speaker 1: line the IgA trading the person who was there ready
- 0:23Speaker 1: to help Manual and Scottie. I believe it's Nick.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Good morning, Nick, Good morning Katie. How are we not bad? Mate?
- 0:31Speaker 1: How are you?
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good, Thank you?
- 0:35Speaker 1: What a man? Look?
- 0:38Speaker 2: You know you could say trading part time security at Yeah,
- 0:44Speaker 2: they would have.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Been really grateful for your support. There's such a good
- 0:47Speaker 1: crew there as well, aren't they.
- 0:50Speaker 2: They really do do a good job down there. They
- 0:52Speaker 2: look after local Funny Bay people quite well.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Now, mate, it appeared in that video that you got
- 0:58Speaker 1: you got a bit of a jab to the face.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Was that the case? No, you're well, it was closed,
- 1:04Speaker 2: but it just grazed my chin and it definitely annoyed
- 1:09Speaker 2: me afterwards, as you can see in the footage. So
- 1:11Speaker 2: I yeh had to disperse the man. Good.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're you're okay obviously, Yeah, yeah, I'm fine,
- 1:20Speaker 1: all good.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, No, no, no injuries or anything, no straw jaw.
- 1:24Speaker 1: No, I'm pleased to hear that. It must have all
- 1:26Speaker 1: like it seemed like it was pretty frightening for all
- 1:28Speaker 1: the women and everybody trying to Like there was a
- 1:31Speaker 1: bit looked like there was a pregnant lady who was
- 1:33Speaker 1: trying to get inside at the start and who was
- 1:35Speaker 1: on the phone to police. It would have been a
- 1:37Speaker 1: pretty full on situation for everybody there.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, it was probably you know, close to rush hour.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I would have thought after work, everyone's going to get
- 1:47Speaker 2: you know, groceries and all that sort of stuff. So yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 2: there was probably about dove or fifteen people inside the
- 1:53Speaker 2: store at the time, meant many of them women and children.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And yeah, there was multiple calls to the cops and
- 2:01Speaker 2: the few of the kids were getting a bit upset.
- 2:04Speaker 2: So yeah, to see it potentially spilling over into the idea, Yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 2: that was a bit worrying for sure.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Absolutely, And like you said, you know, if you've got
- 2:15Speaker 1: women and children inside as well, it's a pretty frightening
- 2:17Speaker 1: situation for them.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Oh for sure. Yeah. You know, I just sort of
- 2:22Speaker 2: you know, I'm part of a big, large family. I've
- 2:26Speaker 2: got multiple sisters, and little nieces and stuff like that,
- 2:29Speaker 2: so I just thought of it, thought of them. I suppose.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Oh mate, we were watching the vision and I think
- 2:34Speaker 1: that everybody was hoping that the high viz trading was okay,
- 2:38Speaker 1: because it did appear as though you'd been punched. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: we are glad to hear that you're okay. What a bloke,
- 2:44Speaker 1: what a good bloke.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Nah, that's all right. I'm sure there would have been
- 2:48Speaker 2: many people that would have done it. I was just
- 2:50Speaker 2: there at the right time to pick up my letters
- 2:54Speaker 2: for dinner.
- 2:57Speaker 1: When this is the thing, you know, at the moment
- 2:59Speaker 1: there's some bad behavior happening, and it does mean that
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know that sometimes you've got to sort of step
- 3:08Speaker 1: up in terms of supporting your local shop owners as well,
- 3:12Speaker 1: like you did.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. I think living in the territory you sort
- 3:17Speaker 2: of see this sort of antisocial behavior just walking down
- 3:20Speaker 2: everyday street. But when it's you know, when you can
- 3:25Speaker 2: assist in and sort of mitigate the risk to other
- 3:30Speaker 2: people by all means you know, people can step in
- 3:34Speaker 2: be afraid to do so.
- 3:35Speaker 1: So yeah, well, and there's such a good crew there,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I know, Manuel, such a lovely man. Whenever I go
- 3:41Speaker 1: in there's always giving me different Greek treats to try,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and he really like he treats his customers like family,
- 3:49Speaker 1: which I love.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh definitely. Yeah. They run a great gig down there,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and it's my local, so I frequent there often. And
- 3:59Speaker 2: I went in there the other night and he sorted
- 4:02Speaker 2: me out with a flabber beer. So who knows, I
- 4:05Speaker 2: might be putting in my resume of woolies and cold
- 4:08Speaker 2: What a bloke. I love it. Yeah, they look for me.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Oh mate, are you known to your friends now? It's
- 4:15Speaker 1: just the high viz trading?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Oh no, I no, not yet.
- 4:21Speaker 1: They might not have even realized.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Pretty low key.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I really appreciate you having a chat with us
- 4:28Speaker 1: this morning.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You're a good man.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I think it's it's really hard sometimes in those situations.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I know myself, I've felt really scared when I've been
- 4:37Speaker 1: in situations where there's been fights and things like that around,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and it does make you feel a lot better when
- 4:42Speaker 1: there are some good men around to be able to
- 4:44Speaker 1: step up and keep an eye out for everyone.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, obviously when it escalates and you see it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: starting to affect other people, innocent bystanders, you know that
- 4:55Speaker 2: that's when it sort of becomes an issue for sure.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick, I really appreciate you having your chat with
- 5:01Speaker 1: me this morning.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Have a great day, No I take with you.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Thanks Mike so y'a
