- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Doge, and today's punchline comes from a world where the moon is made of cheese.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: And so this one is part of Miss Tute.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a, oh, it's just, that's really funny.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's a punchline.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: What's the joke?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: Fart of Miss Tute?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Love spaceship.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: What did Asa launch?
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Fart of Miss Tute.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this one, this is acid just juggled my brain.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: There was nothing, I had so many good ideas and my edges sketch was shook when he said that.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It was too perfect.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, what do you call something thrown at a person who's moaning you?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude, Bartom is too.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is Gage, my guess is what do you call a drag queen on Easter after he eats a bunch of devil bags?
- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: part of this too, you know, sure.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_04]: You know how directly it's changed their name based on their, their gastrointestinal situation.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, this one is kind of in the situation a little bit.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the punchline, it's important to remember that this joke comes from a world where the moon is made of cheese.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: What spaceship carried the lactose intolerant astronauts around the moon and back to Earth recently?
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's an original.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't even have to look that one way.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't even have a tab on my computer that 75 space jokes for teens, and I didn't even open it to read that one.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, you made that up?
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: You just wanted to check that out.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: You're your condition.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty good one.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: It is a personal one.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to bring some represation, representation to people like me.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: I want to hear voices like mine.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that people like me need more represation.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: You know, more reposatious reposatious reposatious reposated on podcast and people said it on people not representing reposating milk.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Hey man, reposate.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I just would like to be reposated.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: Get drunk.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_03]: Reposating.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: Reposating.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: If you're tuning in, you're cheating.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's good.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_03]: I like that.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need to get so far.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: He did a tiny desk club or a tiny desk concert.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Rep, look, Ray.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Look, Ray.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, did he look, Ray?
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot who that he was.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: He was get crock.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: He was represent get crock.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_03]: I would have said, grits.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: My life would be like, man, who could go at school?
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: Blue, Paul.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: My life would be like, blue.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: The kind of jokes you get here.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's the kind of jokes you get here.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's how we do it.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: On the top.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: On board the Artemis, too.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: The juggera.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: Did y'all see you?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: the view from the inside of their vessel as a re-enter the Earth's atmosphere.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: And how it's just like hellfire outside.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, just got to trust it.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I sure hope that they...
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy that they faked it all.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And it's crazy that they faked it all.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that they faked it all.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that they faked it all.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that they faked it all.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that they faked it all.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: I hope that they faked it all.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get it.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it gets the Oscar.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_04]: I hope it gets the Oscar.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it gets the Oscar.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, he certainly won't get the, uh, he won't get the crown in, in our championship here for our, not, not our planet.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: We are going to wrap up our spring delirium.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: We took a little break because there's lots of wonderful things happening in our lives.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Not to say that this podcast isn't one of those, but, you know, on the priority list, it's, uh, not high enough to, uh, no keep going, no keep going, no keep going.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to try like that hard to have consecutive not missed episode.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: So sorry, we couldn't make it to 601.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: But we have our elite eight.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to run through these quickly and then we're going to hit these.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: match up by match up.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: I have no say outside of just being here as the host of our tournament here.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's the three of y'all.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: So there will always be a winner, but we'll go from 8 to 4 to 2.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Our matchups will be if you remember interstellar against Alien, a rival against ET, annihilation against Star Wars, revenge of the Sith, which in itself is a Cinderella story.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Of all of the Star Wars IP that was
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: In this bracket, we've engine the Sith makes it, maybe because two of the three of you were like 12 when it came out.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 will be against each other.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just jump into it.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go straight to interstellar against Alien.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: I need to know how we feel gosh.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I know my answer, and it's really tough.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_04]: This is a very tough matchup.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_04]: I do think I'm personally gonna go interstellar.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: I am too wildly, I'm also going interstellar.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_04]: I actually think it's fun for me.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_04]: Alienism is the movie I would rather watch.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_04]: All right, in terms of like sci-fi importance, alien is certainly important, but interstellar feels like a new classic in a way.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Is that what we're determining?
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Are we determining what is the most important sci-fi movie?
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't think so.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's everybody's own personal, but that seems to be what's really working for him.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: No, I was explaining my vote this round.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to alien because it's cool.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's way cooler than it's so much cooler.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is cool.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Go on, bye, cool.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you might as well show that doesn't happen.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: Cool whips.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Doge, why you pick a why you pick in a stellar.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: Interstellar is sometimes my favorite movie of all time.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of depends on the vibe I'm in, the mood I'm in, but Interstellar is never outside the top three.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: Interstellar is a movie that made me...
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: cried in interstellar when I saw it whenever whenever I kind of hit docs the station I did talks the ship to the rotating station and that was a cry of like I feel small and tiny and this movie represents the incomprehensibly vast nature of the cosmos in a way that is hard to get across because of the music because he's like music music music music boy like that but mine was because it's based so big yeah
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: have different levels of thoughtfulness, and your cellar could literally afford to have a lot more in terms of, but I like what Jordan said in terms of, in terms of, in terms of, with space movies, or not our planet movies, interstellar seems a bit more influential.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: And overall influential for movie making, maybe alien to make me feel better is more influential for the streets.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_04]: No, I actually think,
- 8:09[SPEAKER_04]: I think alien is more influential than interstellar.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's almost impossible.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_04]: You're saying interstellar is more of a space to move or so much.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think that's really an alien's more of a monster.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's quite a one-way.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I sure.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: My pick was alien, but you guys have really convinced me that alien is not realistic enough to move forward.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: It probably could never come true because we're the alien around.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think we hope it doesn't.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think we would prefer it.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it doesn't.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think I take a couple kids to school some friends of ours.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take them to school once a week to give Mama a bit of a break.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: And we Artemis too was about to make its launch and we were talking about what would you, where would you rather be?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Deep space or deep sea.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: They both chose deep space because of the two errors of the deep sea.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: So when I think of Ali and I think of, I think I would, the monstrousness, like how much I hope
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: So certain that something like that is is at the very depths of our is in the ocean and sure.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it completely terrifies me.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: What was the yeah, it was a tragic story.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: But what was the like submarine thing that caught the delinears?
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's because the person, that's my night selling those doors.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: Not, not, not the death, but to be in a small vessel in, in the pitch black of, yeah, the planet's core.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: What's the kind of you deep space?
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Would it be like past our solar system?
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you can't touch the bottom.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, look at your head, the bottom of space.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: There is something terrifying about Project Humberion how far he realizes a way he is as she has to do.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a little bit more.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: But also I think there was something to about the other side of the moon for the Artemis 2 crew.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: That I was like, you're not going to be able to talk to us for 30 minutes.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's terrible.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: You're not supposed to see that.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: People aren't supposed to see that.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's where God puts all the stuff he's not done with.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: He's still all the time.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_04]: He's like the bungee court's going to break.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like you're going to go back too far.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: We assume things were with all the way around.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: But we've never been on that side, have we?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: He was launch on that side.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_04]: in your tiniest proof of this point of two chunks of stances, science isn't real.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_04]: So what are we actually looking to for him?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: I change my answer again.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Alien is more realistic.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I think.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Way more realistic.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess I believe more that Sigourney Weaver could kill a monster than Matt McGonay could docus spaceship.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: I do actually.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like he'd be like, let me take them and give me those keys.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's certainly a confident, rather, rather, rather confident.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I think it's a gurney could take the, you know, more.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think so too.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Let's move on to our next matchup.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: That means Interstellar gets to the final four.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: Arrival.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: against UT, you know, to seemingly harmless aliens that we, you know, certainly the heptopods are a little bit scarier.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: I would say than our cute little UT puppet, but like both great movies.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: How do we feel about this?
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Who moves on?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I know my answer out.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_04]: There's literally an arrival poster there today.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, pretty firmly, like my number one movie of all time, I love it.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a perfect movie.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: I genuinely would not change a thing about it.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, it's, that's the whole theme of it, right?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you wouldn't change a thing about it.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: You would choose to do it every time.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I would choose to watch your arrival every time.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a rival for me.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: While they're debating, I was in my debating.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I even set out that on this podcast, but my wife and I are having our first child and it's a girl.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: And we were trying to think of a name for her and one of the ones I looked into, selfishly.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it's Louis, is Louis the name of our lead in that?
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: So the Heptopod language, which is incredibly fascinating to me, the coffee stain on the coaster of it all.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Canon, few phrases that we see from them that you could get a tattoo of his Luis.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so I thought that would be really cool, but they didn't happen.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: And that's totally fine.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: But sort of one with Elliot instead.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I went with Elliot.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: Elliot.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, this is crazy.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: A rival.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: Really, it's your love as well.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: I love ET so much.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: ET is one of my favorite, ET some, it's really, it's ET in her stellar.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: That kind of dance with each other for that number one spot for me.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so this is to, but to help you against the pain of what would be the next round.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: So you're sure.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're sniffing it into the bud right now.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, the butt for the purposes of this, like, I think in terms of a space movie, a rival is better.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because ET, like,
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: E.T.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: could be a goblin.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: He could be a little troll that lives in the world that got separated from his family.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: But like the heptopods in a rival can only be like the I'm realizing that I think something like kind of incomprehensible is important to me in a space movie of like
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: Our characters are brushing up against like there's no way you can understand this just because you're from earth and they're not from earth And it's just sounds like different sounds like cosmic horror is what you're defining a space a little bit Yeah, cosmic well because in in interstellar and arrival, there's undertones of like cosmic in-comprehensibility that like if I was in that situation, I'd be terrified
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: infinite library of love.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's down there.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think in hand, that's my shoe gaze band name.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: If Spielberg comes out and says, by the way, E.T.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: was not from space.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: E.T.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: was a goblin from earth.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: And there was just like a whole mix up that happened.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: And he ended up with a wrong family.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's actually what the movie was about.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's the ending.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: That would.
- 14:06[UNKNOWN]: It.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Did you have a, what's your pick gauge?
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: Have you picked?
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my big go.
- 14:12[UNKNOWN]: My
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so that was a sweep here in the final four that's huge.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Or in the elite, go into the final four.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe it.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe it.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: How do you all feel about this closure day?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Have we talked about that?
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it looks really fun.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: It looks great, man.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just a produced by Spielberg.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: This is a direct bond.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's a directed man.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: The man.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: Love it.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: We don't get very many tried and true Spielbergs anymore.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited about that.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: And he's never missed including hook.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care what they say.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's certainly has rules too.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_04]: We're a pro hook podcast for sure.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: That means in the next round to the final four, it will be interstellar against E. Let's move on to this other half of the bracket.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, interstellar gets to rival.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go to the other half of the bracket.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: An isolation against Revenge of the Sith.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: This one is odd to me.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of fun.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's these are very different.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think an isolation against anything.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: You could say these are such different moves.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's really nothing like an isolation.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: Revenge of the Sith is perhaps our best
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: uh, version of minding the transition between big stories in the Star Wars universe.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, my answer.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: But how do we feel about this?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: I am going with revenge of the suit.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_03]: Good thing, revenge of the Sith moves on, dude.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: Shocking, shocking me.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: I did read a violation for the first time.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: This summer, I read an Irish for the first time.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: Look at it.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: Hand it to me in a bookstore and I bought it.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I could not believe how different the book and the movie were.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: But what makes my decision easier is I feel like revenge of the Sith sort of took the entire world hostage, leaving up to its release, dude.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: You could not go anywhere without seeing like the trilogies coming to a conclusion.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it's delivered.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'd watch it literally right now.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: I would do.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: I would too.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: I would too.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: I would too plug for the area X series by Jeff Fandermy.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: Your annihilation is the first of a quadrilogy.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there's a fourth block.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: Just came out last year.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: All fantasies for tax bracket.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's crazy.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: Quadrilion.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: I did a whole book to your trilogy.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: Those did you did you vote?
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: No, I was hoping you didn't notice that because I'm going to have to
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad you guys went first because and it's because revenge of the Sith is a vintage city.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_04]: I can't.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: And here's what I'll say.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: This one might be controversial.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: Not only is revenge of the Sith, a better space movie than annihilation.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's a better movie than annihilation.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I love annihilation.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think annihilation is an amazing movie, but revenge of the Sith is like a Hollywood blockbuster.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_04]: Two years.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_04]: I think.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think I would say it's a better movie.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's a more movie movie.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very movie movie.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: The note, I mean, like, it is very just worse.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying it's heightened operatic.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about that.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about that.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: What's the better?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: What if the mimic was played by Samuel L. Jackson?
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: In an isolation one.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: In an isolation one, right?
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I guess the following question is what's the better Natalie Portman performance?
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: It is, it is portment against portment isn't it?
- 17:26[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: It is, yeah.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_04]: To break K-F-A by suppose it's not closed.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_04]: It's a denial.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: It's a denial.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, she gives birth in a weird dream sequence in revenge of the Sith.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so we were guaranteed a apartment against a Ford in the final four, no matter what, because our last match up here in the Elite A is Blade Runner.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody has problems with their mother-in-law.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Against Blade Runner 2049.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: How do we feel does the knee get a second movie in the final four he does for me or does Ridley gets one of the two that we're in.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Are we on the same page about this?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_04]: It's 249.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_04]: 24.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I cannot believe this.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: I really thought we were going to disagree about this.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think, and I'm a big Blade Runner fan of both movies, but 2049 is better to me.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, it takes the promise of the original Blade Runner and makes it what it was in my memory, and like what it should be.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_04]: Watching 2049 felt like watching Blade Runner for the first time again in a good way.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's so hard because they're both perfect.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, like, in particular, like, we don't need to go into ad nauseam about the tears in the rain.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and a lot of people have played runner.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that is unbelievably perfect dialogue.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: But the, man, I don't know.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: I just think the performance is in 2049, though, like, the Deney, but honestly, like, the Deney, the Deney, the Deney, the Deney, the Deney, the Deney, it's, it's some of his best work visually.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: I thought this is going to be a really hard one for me to think about, but like two days after the last recording, I was like, well, Ryan Gosling does a whole lot for me.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: And sure, setting it apart, I think.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's pretty great in them, maybe.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_04]: as he is in every run or twenty forty nine.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_04]: Makes sense.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: He is Carter.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_04]: You really just agreed with this one.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_04]: I could see it in your face.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: I did.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's just tell me why.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I have always given such extra points for doing it first, just having the idea, just having the idea.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so the fact that
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: The trailblazer that is really Scott and sci-fi doesn't have any movie in the final four is kind of crazy, but 2049 is great.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: And this, I mean, it certainly says for the four of us for what that's worth has a data point and I'm sure incredibly massive population that
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Denny is kind of it for yeah for sci-fi right now.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: He might not wait I'll share this quote with you He's in space movie.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: This is from Star Wars episode eight the last Jedi which should have been here Which should have been here because Ryan Johnson suffered my expectations so thoroughly I thought I was gonna like it and I hated it props to Ryan Johnson
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: No, Yoda says to Luke Skywalker that part of being a trailblazer, part of being a leader or a mentor of younger folks, is that you become what they grow beyond.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: You show them what's possible and then they can use their own artistry to surpass it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's the position that Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg are in in this position of like, these are the old masters that show the new kids on the block, they can grow beyond.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's all very interesting.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is the podcast is full of new kids that run the podcast, because our oldest movie.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: is revenge of the Sith by about 10 years being a 2005 movie interstellar in 2014, 2016 gives us a survival 2017 gives us Blade Runner, 249.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so let's get to our final.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: You guys remember when we called him Skiddly Rat for a while?
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: That was funny.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: Skiddly Rat, Skiddly Rat, Skiddly Rat.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: Skiddly Rat.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: We start with interstellar against a rival.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I'm gonna stand by my man here.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_04]: I am in a vote for a rival, although this, this is the hardest choice of the whole thing for me.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_04]: And after this, no other choice will be this hard.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think that they're both phenomenal and probably my top two sci-fi movies of all time.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_04]: I think a rival, a rival, I just find that the messaging speaks to me slightly more than the interstellar messaging, which I also find very moving in like beautiful.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_04]: So there's both great movies, but I just think I have to go a rival.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe, maybe if for another reason, then Max Richter's on the nature of daylight might be enough to say, I got to go a
- 22:14[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, everything that makes you cry, that's how it did.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like a joke, but it's not a joke.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sticking with the interstellar for this one.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Don't see you, Gage.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that arrival is a near-perfect sci-fi experience.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: looking to the stars and having questions, like, what happens if something out there comes here?
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it executes that concept so well.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Even though that line is literally one Macona Hayes has an interstellar?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: One of the stars.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: Let him finish.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: He might be about the size of your hand.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't guaranteed that arrival is what he's thinking.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're apples are thinking, but... Yeah, I knew it.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: I think that there's something to be said for a rival in terms of like I think at least for me.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's my favorite alien quote unquote like invasion movie.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_04]: It feels the most like what it would actually be like where it's like, what are we going to do?
- 23:22[SPEAKER_04]: Fight them?
- 23:23[SPEAKER_04]: What are you talking about?
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they have the technology to travel across the stars to visit us here.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: What could we possibly do to these?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_04]: phenomenal.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's, these are two unbelievable movies.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: They both gave me such dread in different ways.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: As you know, I'm saying, as I feel like is an important component of a space movie like this.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's just the dread of like, oh, I'm so tiny.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: I also think, too, maybe the most even more than our,
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: epic, massive, incredibly high, strong gravitational pull, wave planet of it all.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: That was terrifying to see, especially in the IMAX theater.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think the moment that made my heart drop the most, though, is when they came back to the ship, and it had been 23 years.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: And you find out, he's still waiting.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: I remember feeling, oh my god.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: And both of these movies are doing so much in such a little time.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, in the movie of it, all we talked about that in the adventure this
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: about blockbuster, but there is something to about what can you do in two to two and a half hours, you know, or in Nolan's case, you know, seven and a half, eight.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: But it's it is pretty incredible, the kind of story telling that we do in both of these movies.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_04]: So I will say Interstellar has one of my favorite theater memories of all time, which is Doge and I seeing it on the same night, and me leaning over to Doge at the beginning of the movie, when the book falls off the bookshelf,
- 24:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then getting to the end of the movie and him like shooting a hard glance at me because I think we had to talk about like, I swear I didn't read it.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't spoiling the movie for you.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: I was just making a joke.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that was.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is how we found out that Jordan watches reads the screenplay before every movie.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I got a guy that puts us.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I got a guy.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: A rival moves on to the championship, but against who?
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: We have our final matchup of the final four.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: Revenge of the Sith, against Blade Runner 249.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: Two very different ways to do a legacy seat.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: What's say you?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's revenge of the Sith.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: I say, it's 249 for me.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_05]: OK.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: Really, Thio Anga, do it, do it, do it, it's revenge.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it is, what have I done, I hate Star Wars.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: It's so coarse and rough, get to have everything incredible.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: So that's just, I can't believe it's revenge.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is so good.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to the final.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: So we have a rival.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: against Star Wars episode three.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Revenge of this game is our champion of not our planet.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my vote stands a rival stand by my man.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Art is leaving.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Carter Walk got up and walked.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't want to hear this.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: He can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he can't, he
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: uh... there's a great hidden christian uh... reference in righteous gemstones that i cannot ignore every time i hear his name it's a rival yeah this is me no contest for me personally it was some contest for me unfortunately i think nostalgia goggles off
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Revenge of the Sith as a movie has some flaws and those flaws are mainly bloat yeah for sure.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think part of the fun of revenge of the Sith is it has aged so perfectly into like a My interest level is so high if like a local bar or like somebody invites me to their house and it's like we're doing a revenge of the Sith watch party love drinks and snacks like
- 27:31[SPEAKER_04]: the movie itself is part of the draw because it's just so over the top and ridiculous.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's can't be in a way that like something like fifth element is it, but it manages just to do that on a true blockbuster scale, which I think is impressive.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's important to bring out the camp of that move because that's something that like newer Star Wars is kind of afraid of, but like it is so campy and it is so ambitious in the way that like if you got a, if you got a crazy cookie sandwich from greater American cookie company in the mall and it's like, why are you putting so much ice all this frosting and these sprinkles on a chocolate cookie in Javaya also Oreos right like what are you doing?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Why are you making this monstrosity?
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's just good because sugar is good and cookies are good in retrospect I don't know if they like looked at each other and were like, hey, is this a good movie?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think the question was ever asked even one time Yeah, because there is there's so much like, well, I mean, we're gonna have a space battle We can't not have a space battle and I do and there's like some well fun space battles and then we What if we put in another villain?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what if we had a new guy this time?
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: And he's a robot, buddy, coughs.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: And we do know we do know that we're even describing of like who he is or why he's here.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: But he's got his arms.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: So cool, though.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: And what if we had for the first time ever the battle droids had a personality, what that, that nothing get back to work?
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: This is awesome.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody tell George Lucas, no.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that was perfect.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_00]: It was a movie designed to set up a Lego video game.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: And that is true.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: And that has played the hell out of the way.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations to Danivil Nuv, who since 2016, he's now in a decade in, here's what he's done in 10 years, 10 years feels like a long time, but when you get to add to the zeitgeist of sci-fi, a rival, Blade Runner 249, and what will be three, the entire dune trilogy.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_04]: It's a certain sci-fi, but James Bond right after, I mean,
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I was getting to.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's taken this, he's taken this decade.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, I want to do the sci-fi thing because he was real big on the, like, thriller.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Deeply, yeah.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: Psychario prisoners, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: So movies are so, you know, he's, he's certainly, he feels like the kind of guy he's going to do this for a very long time.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: So we do hope he gets back to sci-fi.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: is he's still your number one, you've been pretty firmly.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, he just, he has this like, very specific visual language.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it's a lot of it is because he works with really talented cinematographers too.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_04]: Like between Deakin's and what's the guy that's been doing, Dune.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I think later on, and Arrival, maybe.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, I'm just talking about the name.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: This, the guy who does the soundtrack.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_04]: No, the cinematographer.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, he just rat for it, young did arrival.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_04]: He works with these really talented.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it was Blade Runner and Dune that he's working with the same guy.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Greg Fraser.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Fraser.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like, yeah, also shot the Batman for Marie.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, but I feel like he, it's partially him working with really talented cinematographers, but I just feel like he has this like visual language to his movies.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I, everything I've ever heard about like his approach to making his movies, it seems very like,
- 30:57[SPEAKER_04]: equitable and very open while being very like vision driven.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I just, I don't know, every time I watch one of his movies, I feel so confident.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_04]: I've never, since I saw prisoners, I've never sat down.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_04]: I've been like wonder if this one will be good.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_04]: Of course it will.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: In most nervous I was was for Dune and it was awesome.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, here we are.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: They're about to wrap it up.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's incredible.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, to have.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about visually to have revenge of the Sith.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the Star Wars, a Star Wars movie against something from Denise, and his first sci-fi movie that was a big deal.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think of how crazy the design was of the Death Star and just seeing this massive sphere at a deep space and be like, that's no moon.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then Denise shows up with a rival and does some stuff.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: In terms of his scale, I think of, he's a frame for frame, maybe,
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: frames that we've ever seen in movies in general, but to have these beautiful shapes, arrival, seeing that what he kind of subverted expectations, because he took, well, a normal UFO might look like and just put it actually, they sit vertically like this.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and just what he continues to do, that's one of the things I get most excited about.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: What are we going to just kind of linger on for a while?
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: That is a very simple,
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: Massively scaled shape that I'm just going to lose my mind and it's going to make me feel so very tiny and Yeah, it's significant and series like this like talking about space movies really make you Understand like Movie theaters need big space operas like there's always at any given moment one that is bringing people to the theaters And it gives me a lot of hope to see Red rising in a theater someday.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: Perfectly said.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: It can be a TV show, but yes.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they got canceled, so.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, now it's, I guess now it's going to be nothing.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: Is that fair point?
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think that someone once doing is not bringing people to the theater, someone is going to be like, we need something next.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: As has been the case.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, sidetrack now that Miyazaki's retired, I really hope to see someone take on like what Dene did with sci-fi to fantasy, because there's, there has been like a great fantasy movie in theaters in a long time.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: Just wait, Lord of the Rings, the hunt for gallum.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're all excited.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Come back, no gonna be awesome.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that and Lord of the Rings the hunt for gollum is bringing you these Anassian mountains two jokes and hunk the hunt for money.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_04]: You're sponsored nice
- 33:53[SPEAKER_04]: This show now is when it's time in the podcast time.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_04]: And we do a podcast with show announcements.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_04]: And we give announcements and we make shows and we give us dollars and we give you content.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_04]: And everybody knows when it's time to do it.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: That it's going to be good and it's going to be nice.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_04]: And when we do it all together, that's when you give us lots of money.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's show announcements.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_04]: And that's sort of how we usually show.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I would love it if that was all this was.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_04]: I thought about just doing shot announcements in that cadence, but it felt this respectful, and I respect our audience.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, there are many things I wanted to do.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: There's three things I want you to do.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're dumb idiots.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, the boom bat.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Number one, rate and review two chunks in a hunt.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's the show you're listening to now.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: You love it.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise you wouldn't be here.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Number two, rate and review imagined dungeons.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's our actual play dungeons and dragons podcast.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: Number three, tell someone that you love or hate about two chunks in a hunk and imagine dungeons.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: We count hate listens as well as love listens, so I don't care your relationship to these people.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: You just have to tell them about us.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's the hate flow through you.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, hell yeah.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: Nice, that was sick.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was our adventure to the Sith, but it was Star Wars.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's from a rival, right?
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: No way, dude.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: Just a joke.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_04]: It's a five, for time.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_04]: That's how you know it's survivor time.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're here.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of fantasy, the dragon's layer is back.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_00]: Baby, oh my god.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: full throttle, dragons layer.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: Who cares about character growth?
- 35:41[SPEAKER_02]: We got to catch up a little bit.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: What do you guys think of the blood moon?
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked since the blood moon.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked since the blood moon.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_04]: Much is the twist.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_04]: They've just done it 10 times in the last five years.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was also just anybody in my territory.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: Anybody who could count knew that something like that was coming.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like if it is like, oh, we're going to get three extra episodes this season.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: No way.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: We no see you yet.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_04]: It's like if you guys showed up and you were like we have a new co-host today and it was just me But I was going by like Bart McGonagall.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_04]: It's just like it's just the same thing You can't you can't call a fake-out merge something different and expect people to be like that's insane You've done the fake-out merge so many times every time every time this bark my god
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: Guys, blood moon did make me feel like I was the kiss of death for Survivor, though.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: You just called me from my team and he went home.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: Both of my winter picks for the season got rid of it out during the blood moon.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to switch it from the first person that, from the second person that gets what I'm on this episode, to the first person that gets what I'm on.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: I read that pretty poorly.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yikes.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Camilla is all of us, though.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen to any of her like media stuff after, it's just kind of, you know, in Tyson, I think it's hilarious that the sponsored post podcast is Tyson.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: I love that, I think it's a wonderful choice that he's the voice native to.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: We get to hear about all this.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's absolutely needed.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think there's,
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: I've said this before, if there's any optimism that I have, which 50 is not feeling great when we see, you know, we can jump ahead to the most recent episode just for this, but when D was saying as the first member of the jury, you know, I'm going to vote for who should win because I want this to be the best season ever.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: There were parts of me sitting not even halfway through thinking, well, there's, I really don't see how this could be the best season ever.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm forgetting about how good the first two episodes were.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was giving Amelia Clarke on that red carpet before the last season of Game of Thrones.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she was like, best season ever.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_04]: I do appreciate, I want the jury to want to be on a good season.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_04]: And I feel like they should be talking about that more often when they're voting for a winner.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, don't you want to be on the season so we're finally wins?
- 37:48[SPEAKER_04]: Like, don't you want to say anything?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think a way that we still have an opportunity for it to be an incredibly memorable season is there still a handful of those that are left?
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a great few that are left that would make wonderful winner.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: This would be, yeah, honest, an incredibly memorable season.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: But it would be when we got to jury coach, just manhandled every single vote and said, here's who you're voting at.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: How's your voting at?
- 38:13[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to do a Boston Rob thing.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Way too late in him.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think that production doesn't understand that.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_00]: basically everyone hates it whenever you do a swap for one episode and then they go to tribal.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's, it doesn't give space for the game to be played.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's just about.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, because this brings up an interesting question that I have, or I think it is.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: So because we're calling this from the, from the jump from the title we have said,
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: the fans decide, right?
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: So do you think there's a part of the production team this year that's like, hey, if they hate it, they asked for it.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's like a, uh, I think we asked for it.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like how much does this a question you would say?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, well, we're not going to ask the fans anymore, because they really have to it up.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_04]: No, right.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_04]: They, they, first of all, a lot of those questions, I think were phrased in a way that they could do whatever they wanted and be like, it fits with what you're going to do.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_04]: So no, there's no way they were actually letting fans decide too much.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_04]: I think they were always going to bring back a live finale and just new people would vote for it.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_04]: So they wanted to do that kind of a thing.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_04]: I think most of what the fan vote was was they knew that they could plan a season that was closer to what people had been asking for but keep some things.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_04]: So they're going to blame this on like you said you wanted to mix it up with dynamic gameplay.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_04]: That's what we did, you know, it's going to be one of those things with the fake out merge.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_04]: production, I don't think cares.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_04]: Like I think they are more interested in making the show they want to make than they are in making the show that it seems like people want to watch.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think there's also an interesting point with returning seasons where everyone is aware that pre-gaming exists.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but survivor wants to pretend that it doesn't happen.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_04]: Like they're just going to cover to between seasons.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so you have decisions that seem like they make no sense.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like Jonathan suddenly being like, no, I'm not man-tied or not the stuff.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: But like, it takes one post game interview to learn like, oh, all these people were on a Zoom call and decided to work together.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sure.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: It was so kind of the life of a difficult game.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_04]: Rizzo calling the like, you have only replaced me with, you've replaced Colby with me just because I'm here and Colby's gone.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_04]: Felt like the closest thing to like, clocking the pre-game in the game.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_04]: Is that makes sense?
- 40:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I wish that we had like, I figured on that a little longer.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of, while you speak of Rizzo.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: I, there is the throne in my heart is empty for a winner pick.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't,
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to do it.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: Rip it, dude.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: How do we do it?
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing, guys.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think you guys are all on Suri, right?
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: Card is on Aussie.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: Card is on Aussie.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna say Rizzo.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna say Riz, Riz, GOD.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just see.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: And he's playing like, he's playing like it right now.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: He is playing well.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: Just see, man.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think Suri's like, I'm gonna bring this weird little kid all the way to the end with me.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Rizzo cut her at the end.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_04]: if he, I don't know me.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see, man, Rizzo so far, and based on last season, it seems like his biggest enemy is hubris.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: What the guy, how much I love revenge in the earth, so.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what he might do, what I can see happening is if it, let's imagine that three gets to the final four, right?
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Aussie-Serie, Rizzo, and let's just say, like,
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: What I can imagine Rizzo doing is being like, I need to win in fire.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sure.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm going to go against it.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: If I beat Ozzy and fire, Ozzy, who could have basically fart a fire out?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: Just saying, did he hear about what happened?
- 42:21[SPEAKER_00]: This really made me mad that we didn't see this.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: But when Rizzo and Ozzy go to exile,
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: Man does Aussie love exile island.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: It always works out for him.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I can one of the immunity.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the first time he went in Micronesia, I think that was the, or maybe that was fans versus favorites.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: He went to exile and that's where he built that fake idol that Eric played that season.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: Rizzo apparently is really sick, so Aussie like built a mini shelter just for Rizzo so we could keep his body heat inside.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: But again, instead we get three minutes of Jeff describing Applebees.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, that's the most compelling argument for Rizzo winning this season that I've heard so far as that they didn't want to show him getting pampered like a little baby by Ozzy.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, but he's like our sickly little king, right?
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's like her little jaw-free.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think we show.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's our little hapsburg.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_04]: I like him better if we show him shivering in a little hut that Ozzy made.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_04]: It really reminds me of when Pacha carries Kusko and Kusko's fight too.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_04]: Kusko's like, Pacha's like, low blood sugar honeys like it's torture, man.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_04]: That's the vibe I'm getting is just Aussie making this shelter for a shivering riso and riso being like I got I got bad circulation and I was like they're there there there.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, riso like comforts himself to go to sleep by spelling R.I.Z.G.O.D.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: over and over and out of theme song.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_04]: There's jumping over the fence and the T.O.N.T.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, yeah, riso, it's back.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_04]: That's a pretty good one.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned it at the beginning, but how does everybody feel about the Dragon Slayer coming back?
- 44:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was always there.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's lying.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's lying.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's wonderful TV.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's lying.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think that coach might be the numbers.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: tend to rank things in my head.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I could probably tell you, like, between the three of you who's my favorite, I could rank it.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: I've had it rings, it's very changes all the time.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, but on on on server, like, how can this still be great?
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what are the stories that I love the most?
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: And the top three stories that I've loved the most are sticking around to be honest.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: Number three I would say is just coach what the hell is you going to do?
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's incredible.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: Number two is Suri, who one of her top moments was, she knows Stephanie's lion, literally didn't say a single word, looks at her laughs and Stephanie tells her, and now once again Suri knows everything, and she's just still there, which is the dumbest thing.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: She's still there.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't have anybody an extra vote and knowledge.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's unbelievable, but the number one thing for me, and we get to coach her a little bit, is Christian and Rick's relationship is the best thing about the show.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: I will say that coach,
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's, he's, he's, he's the most delirious ignorant, yes, cocky, it is such good TV.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think I've said this, but I, there's multiple, like in my algorithm, I'll get all these rankings of the best reality TV characters of all time.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: And coaches consistently in the top two or three, very awesome number one, because of this.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: And there's something very genuine about that.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: Colby was on the pod has spoken.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: at the end.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Is it part of spoken as one that Tyson hosts?
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: So Colby does his exit interview and Colby is great.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: I totally ship him maybe becoming the host or survivor someday.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's wonderful.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: But everyone has something to say about what coach said to them.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: How they were there.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: Colby said that, you know, he, Colby was just kind of screwed and that made a bunch of fans really upset because, you know, you'll lose your vote.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: You also lose your shot in the dark.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: So Colby was just kind of damn, there was really no, he was so helpless.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was incredibly unlucky for as much skill as in the game.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: Luck probably shouldn't take that much.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: of a play into whether you make it or not, but he was doomed from the tribe switch.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: But he said that after the episode aired in which Kobe got voted off and you know, had revealed Kobe would say, Kobe would say that he didn't know until a couple days in after he lost his vote that he also lost his shot in the dark.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: That just wasn't a thing back when he was playing when it was 42 on the dark, 42 days in the outback.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: So he said coach calls him and he's like, man, Kobe.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I had totally forgotten that you had lost your vote.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: If I had known that, I would have hung up their longer so that I could beat D and get the immunity necklace and keep you, and it could be just laughing about how genuine coaches with this, of like, hey, man.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's my be dude.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: I recognize I had the power to save like he is it's like delirious.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's housewife level.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't do anything I could imagine.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, coaches whole deal has always been well, I would have won.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: if.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I didn't like what I decided not to.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's literally like a second greater who's like, well, yeah, I wasn't trying.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how we race.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'll try.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: How wonderful for production.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he is the B-roll master.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's just going to, hey coach, man, how would you feel about meditating over there in that rock in the ocean?
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: Can you give me a boat?
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: My calf hurts.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what is it?
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's just going to do it.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: him doing the high coup to himself and like Jonathan and the Chris check remember who else was listening to him.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, did y'all catch them?
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: And they're just like, yeah, yeah, it's great.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's really good, man.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: It feels, it's almost to where it feels scripted sometimes because coach is so, yes, predictably unpredictable in that way.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_04]: Does coach feel like he owns a
- 48:07[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, there's the contact juggling thing that was popular when we were kids.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_04]: You could buy them on Nickelodeon at a 1-800 number.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: They were like a, yeah, they're like a as seen on TV toy.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_04]: It just seems like the kind of guy that would have like sideburns and a fushigi.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and it's like really convinced that it works.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about these dukes, right?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about how he is the Kubitat.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: He is what's worth speaking of, though, it would not surprise me at all.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_00]: Someone like posted a picture on Twitter or something.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like, I actually went to college with Coach.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a picture of me and Benjamin.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, one of the college kids who kind of goes,
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: fake roster for a little bit.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like has, yeah, has like, let's say hacky sack.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: You can see he hacky sack.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_04]: Actually, he is also the every best with a t-shirt.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I feel like I bet.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's certainly he's larked before he's probably larked on this island.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's basically right now.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's every time he does Tai Chi.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's like coach, she thing.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's all.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: man.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: I love this man so much.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's the worst.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's the worst.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm really rooting for Ozzy to get one more immunity win.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: It feels wrong to try to rob has the record that doesn't seem right to me.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Ozzy, that is Ozzy's title.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: It should be.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was, this was one of the things that I was most excited about to have.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: these immunity, individual immunity idols, like legitimate ones.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: And not just that we're splitting you up and you 15, well, each have three winners.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't really feel, you know what, maybe Dubik, you could have beat everybody.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: But to sit there and we had D against Joe.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: Joe, Dubik's odd.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: Dubik, you Christian.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: Christian, Dubik, you, Dubik, you, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad, my bad.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: Dubik, you, Dubik's pants.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Dubik, Dubik, Dubik, you called him, Dubik, no, that's really good.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's amazing.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_04]: Probably that movie that do the du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du- du
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's gone.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to let him die now.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: When I say something, I'm just going to, I'm not going to try and get it back.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's got its rifts now.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: We've got our joke.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm, it's what I need to say, I've already told people, you know, I don't need to say it on this podcast.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: You do an in person podcast with your friend.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then you do.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think having like Joe Ozzy and D standing, that's the reason, like a returner season, it is exciting to see the history of people that are good these kinds of things.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: just stand there altogether and compete against each other.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: And for Ozzie to win, this was huge.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: We were kind of like trying to make it happen that he was, he still had it.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think in that team individual immunity or the team immunity, he, it looked like he got back to the shore before Jonathan did.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Ozzie's still there, but
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: To see him be like, hey, you got a laser focus and stand in pain for a long time.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, he's back.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's here.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to see a true showdown between Ozzie and Jonathan.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'd like to see Jonathan go home as a result.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he has me.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, actually could be good.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: They're certainly different.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_00]: One more person is like really living up to her name.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it is Emily Flippen because I flip, she will.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: She stays flipping.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: She stays flipping.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: She stays well guys.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_02]: Remember you guys remember when Anthony Weener got busted for sending inappropriate text message photos.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's a level.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, you really don't believe like, I don't know that is.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: He sent dickpicks and his name, his last name is weir, his name is, yeah, it's like, it's like a Pilgrim's progress level of literal naming with Anthony Weiner and Emily Flippen of like, oh, you're named for what you do.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_04]: He never said name is Jordan Farton.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_04]: You do wonder a lot, though, don't you?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: You wonder, you do wonder.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: You do.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I will.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: You can't.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: You can guarantee if you ask me.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'll do it.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: You'll do it.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: You sure will.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_00]: Ask me where I'm from.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're from.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hail.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_04]: Nice.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_04]: To end.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_04]: Today's episode, tell me the information that you would tell Emily so that she would leak it and handle an uncomfortable conversation for you.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_04]: For two chunks in a hunk, my name's Jordan.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_04]: And I do think that I would whisper to Emily, I'd be like, hey, keep this between us, because I think she's going to be gone next week, but at night, Cali will grip the blankets and then spin like a hot dog on a roller grill and take all my blankets from me.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_04]: So make sure you don't tell anybody.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_04]: And then I think Emily would probably bring it to Cali and it would get fixed because I think it's always a time to like talk about those things.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: She's doing it for you.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be like, I'd be like, Emily, it's Midoosh from the podcast and from being on the island stranded with you.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_02]: You remember how we did that and didn't have any rice and got really skinny and sick and our tummies were messed up?
- 53:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't tell anybody, but I don't want to give my landlord any of my money this month.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't feel like I should have to when the house isn't the way it's not perfect, you know?
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Emily, this and I know that we've just met, but I'm Carter, you know, just to reiterate that, I will let you know, like I tend to have people keep giving me gifts for, like they know that I like spicy things and I promise I still do, but as I get closer to 40, I'm kind of starting to worry about how much I'm bleeding and
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like maybe we need to turn the Scoville down a little bit, because I'm not just gonna not eat the thing.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm not just gonna not eat it, it's great.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't bought a spicy thing for myself in a long time.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if the word just got out, that maybe let's not make it so hot, I might be able to live longer.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not that I'm not enjoying it.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: Dear Emily, it's your friend gauge.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: You might be wondering why you're getting a voice memo when you're used to receiving letters from me in a bottle.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm here to let you know that I'm against all forms of greeting cards, birthday cards, don't tell anybody because I'm afraid that there'll be an expectation that I give one, but I'm done doing it.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not doing it anymore.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't give one.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_00]: You're right.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're really right.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_00]: I told you.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's my gift.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: You did.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not doing cards.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks Emily.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, sorry.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_04]: But I forgot to, she does, like, like, really, really buy.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for sharing it with us.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: Well, all of your conversations were like in person, but she still, you have to end it.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_00]: She's still in person.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: You have to end it.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: You have to end it.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're just Emily and I are pen pals.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_00]: Exclusively, yeah.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_04]: No, she even in person, she still is like, okay, and we're still talking, are we still talking?
- 55:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: Is there anything else?
- 55:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay podcast by I can imagine here can I can't go fine.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, hey, okay, what is there more podcast.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_04]: Okay podcast.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I guess it's I guess it's it
