• 0:02
Speaker 1: Welcome into kickoff Kevin's Power five. In this Power five,
• 0:06
Speaker 1: I'll be talking about last night's Round one of the
• 0:08
Speaker 1: NFL Draft. Let's get right into it. Number five. I
• 0:13
Speaker 1: like to call this make or break my job pick.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: There have been a lot of talk about job security
• 0:17
Speaker 1: up there in Indy for a little while now. You know,
• 0:19
Speaker 1: ever since I've been trying to replace Andrew Luck, They've
• 0:21
Speaker 1: tried Philip Rivers, Matt Ryan, Kobe Brisset, everyone in between.
• 0:26
Speaker 1: The reality is it's been miss after miss for Ballard
• 0:29
Speaker 1: and that entire organization, and that's why he's taking this
• 0:32
Speaker 1: home run swing. With Anthony Richardson at number four, Rice
• 0:35
Speaker 1: Young went number one. Ce J Shroud, second best quarterback,
• 0:37
Speaker 1: went number two, and then it kind of leaves you
• 0:39
Speaker 1: up with Richardson and you're like, I don't know if
• 0:41
Speaker 1: we're going to reach for this guy. I don't know
• 0:42
Speaker 1: if it's really worth it. Leave it up to Chris Ballad.
• 0:44
Speaker 1: He reached, he thought it was worth it, and he's
• 0:47
Speaker 1: making that whole make or break pick. He had to
• 0:49
Speaker 1: make that home run swing. But I just think at
• 0:50
Speaker 1: the end of the day, in two to three years
• 0:52
Speaker 1: from now, Chris Ballad will be gone, Anthony Richardson will
• 0:55
Speaker 1: maybe be moving on to another team or trying to
• 0:57
Speaker 1: get a fresh start somewhere, and Ballard will look back
• 0:59
Speaker 1: and say, Yep, it didn't make my job, but it
• 1:02
Speaker 1: sure broke my job. Number four, My number four topic
• 1:06
Speaker 1: has to do with the perfect match pick. This is
• 1:09
Speaker 1: the pick I think is a perfect match for that
• 1:11
Speaker 1: player and that team. And my perfect match goes to
• 1:14
Speaker 1: Devin Witherspoon, cornerback from Illinois going fifth overall to the
• 1:17
Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks, teaming him up with rookie pro bowler last year,
• 1:20
Speaker 1: Tarik Wooland on the other side, we'll have Seattle fans
• 1:23
Speaker 1: remembering the Legion of Boom again and not to mention
• 1:25
Speaker 1: them grabbing arguably the best wide receiver in the draft,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: with Jackson Smith and Jigba to play slot alongside DK
• 1:30
Speaker 1: Metcal from the outside Tyler Lockett on the other side.
• 1:33
Speaker 1: Shout out to John Schnyder. Devin Witherspoon is gonna be
• 1:35
Speaker 1: an absolute animal with the twelves that crowd going behind him.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: He thrives off of it, and Jackson Smith and Jigba
• 1:41
Speaker 1: is a great fit there. Their weapons is gonna be awesome.
• 1:43
Speaker 1: I'm excited to see how that all plays out. Number three,
• 1:49
Speaker 1: it's for the GM of your fantasy team come this summer.
• 1:51
Speaker 1: This is a rookie that I think can make a
• 1:53
Speaker 1: major impact in year one and possibly lead you to
• 1:55
Speaker 1: a fantasy championship. Thinking about guys like Saquon Barkley in
• 1:58
Speaker 1: twenty eighteen when he had you know, over two thousand
• 2:01
Speaker 1: scrimmage jars and fifteen touchdowns, or Justin Jefferson a few
• 2:03
Speaker 1: years ago, and this year it was a top ten pick.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: B Jean Robinson going to Atlanta. A lot of people
• 2:09
Speaker 1: were saying they didn't need him because they already had
• 2:10
Speaker 1: a thousand yard rookie rusher last year with Tyler Algier.
• 2:13
Speaker 1: But most analysts had top three talent written all over
• 2:16
Speaker 1: Robinson leading up to this draft, and Atlanta wants to
• 2:19
Speaker 1: help out their young quarterback and ritter as much as
• 2:21
Speaker 1: they can. I gotta get his confidence up. Now they've
• 2:23
Speaker 1: got some more weapons to add and probably top offensive
• 2:26
Speaker 1: weapon outside of a quarterback, of course, top offensive weapon
• 2:29
Speaker 1: that was available in this draft. And while Atlanta may
• 2:32
Speaker 1: have picked him way too early at number eight, the
• 2:33
Speaker 1: fantasy GM and U should be very very happy. Number
• 2:38
Speaker 1: two the Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman did it again.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: The Eagles defense now has linebacker Nacobe Dean de tackle
• 2:45
Speaker 1: Jordan Davis, de tackle, Jaylen Carter, DN Nolan Smith. These
• 2:49
Speaker 1: are all players that were on Georgia's historic defense two
• 2:52
Speaker 1: years ago when they just ran through college football. No,
• 2:54
Speaker 1: not last year, but the one before that. And they're
• 2:55
Speaker 1: all together and not to mention they resigned, Brandon Graham,
• 2:58
Speaker 1: Plectric cox Sonradi is still there. They have three major,
• 3:02
Speaker 1: major production veterans on that team to lead these young guys.
• 3:06
Speaker 1: And most people said Jalen Carter, Georgia d tackle this year,
• 3:09
Speaker 1: who they got at number nine, was the best player
• 3:11
Speaker 1: in this draft. Eagles fans should be very very happy.
• 3:14
Speaker 1: I think the Eagle's new after not recording a sack
• 3:16
Speaker 1: at all in the Super Bowl and watching Mahomes come back,
• 3:18
Speaker 1: that they needed to get even better, and boy did
• 3:20
Speaker 1: they ever. Hats off to GM Howie Roseman for getting
• 3:23
Speaker 1: those deals done and backing up what everyone says where
• 3:25
Speaker 1: he's one of the top, if not the top GM
• 3:28
Speaker 1: in the league, and he showed it once again on
• 3:30
Speaker 1: Draft night. This story is all about him coming back
• 3:32
Speaker 1: and getting two top defensive line players for an already
• 3:36
Speaker 1: very good defensive line in Philadelphia Number one. The draft
• 3:40
Speaker 1: has really turned into a primetime event every spring. These
• 3:42
Speaker 1: guys are being talked about for months and months and months,
• 3:45
Speaker 1: and they want to show up looking their best. And
• 3:47
Speaker 1: I have two subjects here. I'm going to go with
• 3:49
Speaker 1: the best dress on something I would wear, something I
• 3:51
Speaker 1: personally like, and then also a best dress. But dang,
• 3:55
Speaker 1: I can never rock that even if I tried. I
• 3:58
Speaker 1: wish I could something I would wear. And that goes
• 4:01
Speaker 1: to Zay Flowers, the wide receiver from Boston College. He
• 4:04
Speaker 1: went to Baltimore. He's now a raven. Zay wasn't flashy
• 4:07
Speaker 1: at all. He didn't have a bunch of colors, he
• 4:09
Speaker 1: didn't have a bunch of patterns on his suit anything
• 4:11
Speaker 1: like that. It was simple, it was smooth, it was classy.
• 4:14
Speaker 1: It was a black and white combo. But it was
• 4:17
Speaker 1: what was on the inside of his blazer that I
• 4:19
Speaker 1: really like. He had pictures of his family stitched all
• 4:22
Speaker 1: throughout the blazer. And anyone who can have their family
• 4:25
Speaker 1: with him on that red carpet, even though they all
• 4:26
Speaker 1: can't physically be there, I think it's pretty damn cool,
• 4:29
Speaker 1: and now we're gonna move on to the There's no
• 4:31
Speaker 1: way I can pull that suit off, but I wish
• 4:33
Speaker 1: I could pick and that goes to Texas Tech defensive
• 4:36
Speaker 1: lineman Tyree Wilson, who went number seven to the Raiders.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: His suit bold, but it was classic all at the
• 4:41
Speaker 1: same time. I had like this floral pattern to it
• 4:44
Speaker 1: on the outside at the Texas Tech logo on the inside.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: Maybe one day I will be able to pull something
• 4:48
Speaker 1: like that off, but for now, I'm just gonna leave
• 4:50
Speaker 1: it up to Tyree Wilson. And that about wraps it
• 4:53
Speaker 1: up for this week's kickoff, Kevin's Power Five of the Week.
• 4:56
Speaker 1: Thanks for listening, and I hope you have a great
• 4:58
Speaker 1: weekend and we'll talk to you next week.
