- 0:26Speaker 1: with us? Man?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I see him so many times over the weekend.
- 0:31Speaker 2: He was like, I keep seeing y'all said, we're in
- 0:33Speaker 2: the same hotel.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yeah. You you had a lot of foot traffic though
- 0:36Speaker 3: you was doing a lot of moving.
- 0:38Speaker 4: I can tell you he's appointment.
- 0:40Speaker 3: He was making plays because every time I saw him,
- 0:43Speaker 3: he was in the middle. I could you.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Know, yeah, I'm talking to somebody.
- 0:48Speaker 3: All Yeah, he was.
- 0:50Speaker 4: He was a quarterback in the whole week.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I was just working, you know, just working.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Just take you'll full advantage of the opportunity festivities.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Hey, he loves l A real.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He loved it.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Very rare to hear people expect to l A.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I just love Atlanta.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I don't know why.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I don't know why A lot of people always say
- 1:08Speaker 4: they don't like l A. I love l A.
- 1:10Speaker 1: First of all, get really cold at night. Yeah, just
- 1:12Speaker 1: put a hoodie on, no mess up my little on
- 1:15Speaker 1: a T shirt.
- 1:16Speaker 4: But see, I like dressing like that.
- 1:18Speaker 3: You gotta go to l A to even know that,
- 1:20Speaker 3: because like you gotta have you gotta have at least
- 1:22Speaker 3: two outfits for the day. You got your day fit,
- 1:25Speaker 3: and you definitely gotta have some sweats on. Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 2: They need to do something with the pollution because what
- 1:30Speaker 2: I what I realize is that in the morning the
- 1:34Speaker 2: sun comes out a little bit later than in Atlanta
- 1:36Speaker 2: because that's not clouds, that's small. So it's like when
- 1:40Speaker 2: everybody at work, then the sun actually comes out.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Well they got a lot going on right now.
- 1:50Speaker 1: There. Yeah, and it was prid weekend, so it's people
- 1:53Speaker 1: doing that.
- 1:54Speaker 3: It's blocked off.
- 1:55Speaker 4: They throwing those at the police and.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Somebody got there. Hollywood star. I said, this is the
- 2:02Speaker 2: only time they clean the street. That's the only.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Time they cleaned that Hollywood Walk of Fame street.
- 2:09Speaker 3: But those stars are like randomly all over the city.
- 2:13Speaker 3: It was it was just like a long but everywhere.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I didn't know that everywhere random streets too.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Man, it'd be so much going on. But I but
- 2:23Speaker 2: you know one thing I do like about it, like
- 2:25Speaker 2: is the weather number one? Number two? The food they
- 2:28Speaker 2: got some of the best.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Know they don't that's a lie.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You don't eat the burritos out to see. I love
- 2:35Speaker 2: tacos and burritos and stuff like that. So like all
- 2:38Speaker 2: the other stuff where people be like, oh, they ain't
- 2:39Speaker 2: got no good soul for that.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I don't know nothing about that they do.
- 2:42Speaker 4: But you got.
- 2:45Speaker 1: My wife was asking me, how was it going.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I was, You're gonna find a way to tell you
- 2:48Speaker 3: about their wife. Bro, you just knew we didn't have
- 2:50Speaker 3: a wife and you wanted to flex on it. Man,
- 2:54Speaker 3: she's not here right now. Yeah, in spirit.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Anyway, Carlos Man, what's up my brother?
- 3:02Speaker 3: No finished about your wife? Go ahead?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know I love you Tennisian.
- 3:07Speaker 3: She sounds abusive.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Her name.
- 3:11Speaker 1: That let us know, right she packed punch. She's never
- 3:19Speaker 1: hit me.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But you know what she's capable of.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I know she's capable. Yeah, she's a she's an extraordinary woman.
- 3:27Speaker 1: There you where's Colins Miller from Oxford, Mississippi? From the
- 3:32Speaker 1: from the Sip and what I kind of want to
- 3:36Speaker 1: I really want to get make this episode about you brother,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and like your flowers first and foremost.
- 3:40Speaker 3: One of the.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Funniest people I know. Appreciate it, Bro, But you're like,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I call it organic funny and he's unfiltered. Yeah, but
- 3:48Speaker 1: like you're very naturally funny. I can tell when you're
- 3:52Speaker 1: doing your comedy you're being yourself.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong. No, you're definitely right
- 3:58Speaker 3: because I approach comedy from the viewpoint of a fan
- 4:02Speaker 3: of comedy.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You get what I'm saying. So that's who you are?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Was that who you were growing up? Were you naturally
- 4:10Speaker 1: the funny guy or the comedic person of the family.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Like when people like, man, what do you do, I'm like,
- 4:18Speaker 3: I never looked at comedy as a job. You know
- 4:20Speaker 3: what I'm saying. This was just like my passion project.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I knew I didn't want a job. I didn't want
- 4:24Speaker 3: to go to work every day because even when I
- 4:27Speaker 3: was like working and in the workforce, I was just
- 4:29Speaker 3: find shit to do at work that just was entertaining.
- 4:32Speaker 1: What were you working?
- 4:33Speaker 3: I've worked everywhere, Bro, I've had it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: What's some jobs?
- 4:36Speaker 3: Your jobs?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Man?
- 4:37Speaker 3: I used to sell shoes, cookies, I worked at the
- 4:40Speaker 3: mall Spider, you know, the cookie spot at the mall.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I was the manager at lid. It was a firefighter.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You were a manager at lids at a firefighter.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Not at the same time, but I was like that
- 4:50Speaker 3: that would be.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Being a firefighter is like like you had you got
- 4:53Speaker 1: to take tests and stuff.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of tests go through some like to
- 4:58Speaker 3: fire academy. Yeah, that's where I lost the job. Like
- 5:03Speaker 3: some racist shit happened at the fire academy.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Tried out the courage.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Well that's what it was, though.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Some racist stuff went down at the Fire Academy Mississippi.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Yeah, are you surprised?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Nah? I was the way that they played it though,
- 5:18Speaker 3: because they tried to flip it like it was me
- 5:21Speaker 3: being racist to the white dudes, but it was.
- 5:24Speaker 4: We was out numbered in the class twenty to five.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Damn.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Sounds about right, and I was the only NAT turner.
- 5:31Speaker 3: The rest of them was damned the embarrassing to the
- 5:34Speaker 3: black community. I won't even speak on them, but they
- 5:36Speaker 3: were some cowards. Wow.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, So how was it growing up in Mississippi like Oxford, Mississippi.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, if you don't know what Oxford is, that's
- 5:45Speaker 3: where Old miss is. Home of the Old Missus. So
- 5:48Speaker 3: we got a big college town, big college population now,
- 5:53Speaker 3: so the Old Missus like in the middle of the
- 5:55Speaker 3: city and then everything else around that is Oxford.
- 5:59Speaker 4: So it was always interesting.
- 6:00Speaker 1: There was always a lot of little hustles and schemes
- 6:02Speaker 1: and plots that you.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Could come up on, like you know, a little money
- 6:06Speaker 3: to get. So we was just there was a lot
- 6:07Speaker 3: of hustlers around there. But you know, we were doing
- 6:10Speaker 3: like selling drugs, but they got that. But we always
- 6:14Speaker 3: had a little a little hustle, a little scheme, a
- 6:17Speaker 3: little plotter was running. Yeah, Like we would go to
- 6:19Speaker 3: the Old miss games and like sell Cox Game.
- 6:24Speaker 4: T shirts and stuff.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Especially for it, like the tailgaters, I mean I had homeboys.
- 6:30Speaker 3: He used to go make two three thousand dollars a
- 6:32Speaker 3: weekend just setting up and breaking down tents. So we
- 6:36Speaker 3: was just always about getting some bread and.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Oh, now as this is happening, are you trying to
- 6:41Speaker 1: be a comedian?
- 6:42Speaker 3: Now? Yet? None of this is happening in Mississippi at
- 6:45Speaker 3: this point. So my introduction of comedy was I was
- 6:49Speaker 3: I joined the improv group.
- 6:50Speaker 4: First.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I was doing improv in Mississippi and Mississippi so like
- 6:54Speaker 3: in between our improv setups, I would just go out
- 6:57Speaker 3: entertain the crowd a little bit. That turned from two
- 6:59Speaker 3: minutes to five minutes to ten, and one night we
- 7:02Speaker 3: didn't have an improv show, but the venue like, hey,
- 7:05Speaker 3: if you want to come and do your thing. I
- 7:07Speaker 3: didn't even have a thing. They just gave me a
- 7:09Speaker 3: knight and I invited everybody and sold it out. And
- 7:12Speaker 3: that was like my very first time doing.
- 7:14Speaker 1: That's from zo to a hundred, like literally, yeah, it
- 7:19Speaker 1: was just an opportunity that came about because, like with
- 7:22Speaker 1: the improv, I was working at Dominoes, and all my
- 7:25Speaker 1: people at Dominoes like, man, he's funny as hell.
- 7:27Speaker 3: You out to meet Mike. Mike was the white dude
- 7:29Speaker 3: who was working there. He was the funny dude before
- 7:31Speaker 3: I got there, and he started this improv troop And
- 7:34Speaker 3: then I went in an audition for it and they
- 7:36Speaker 3: loved me and they put me in and we just
- 7:38Speaker 3: started like having these really dope shows. Like on improv,
- 7:42Speaker 3: you know, you do games, you get like suggestions from
- 7:44Speaker 3: the crowd. So I will always be the one to
- 7:46Speaker 3: go out and like night with the crowd while they
- 7:48Speaker 3: were setting up and doing you know, different little costume
- 7:51Speaker 3: changes and stuff like that. So then that kind of
- 7:53Speaker 3: parlayd until that one night we didn't have a show
- 7:56Speaker 3: and they was like the crowd loved you, you should
- 7:58Speaker 3: do your own thing. I was like, well, what is
- 8:00Speaker 3: that exactly? And it was like, just do whatever you want.
- 8:03Speaker 3: So sold it out and did whatever I wanted. You did?
- 8:07Speaker 1: You put Okay, you know what, let's go to commercial.
- 8:10Speaker 1: We'll be right down with Carlos Miller.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And we are back right here at the b Alert
- 8:14Speaker 2: Show Revolt TV.
- 8:16Speaker 3: You know, BT.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Corlins Miller is in the building. You're just telling us
- 8:21Speaker 1: now how you had your own event Oxford, Mississippi. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and did you plan? Did you plan anything when you
- 8:28Speaker 1: were going to.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You play your extra strategy?
- 8:31Speaker 4: Not really?
- 8:32Speaker 3: So I did that night and then that's when I
- 8:35Speaker 3: started working as a firefighter, So it kind of like
- 8:39Speaker 3: clashed with.
- 8:39Speaker 1: The sched and you were a firefighter I got I.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Started doing the firefighter like.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Kind of shortly after that.
- 8:45Speaker 3: It was because you needed now, because when you get
- 8:48Speaker 3: hired as a firefighter, it's like a six month hiring
- 8:51Speaker 3: process because you had to do like all these physical
- 8:53Speaker 3: exams and then they just randomly hit me and I
- 8:56Speaker 3: was like, yeah, you got the job.
- 8:57Speaker 4: So I started working right after.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I like my one man show type, so I kind
- 9:03Speaker 3: of had to go like my shift. I had to
- 9:05Speaker 3: be on call like for my shift, so it was
- 9:08Speaker 3: clashing with the show date. So that kind of it
- 9:10Speaker 3: was like as soon as it started, it stopped. So
- 9:13Speaker 3: after that, a couple of months as a firefighter, moved
- 9:18Speaker 3: in Atlanta. That's Transford. I lost the job, and then
- 9:23Speaker 3: I lost the job as a firefighter. Then I went
- 9:26Speaker 3: on the road driving trucks for a little bit, which
- 9:28Speaker 3: was very strange. And then I moved to Atlanta and
- 9:31Speaker 3: I was like, God, just get me off this truck
- 9:33Speaker 3: and I'll never get on the truck again. And then
- 9:35Speaker 3: I got off the truck in Atlanta. When Memphis got
- 9:38Speaker 3: my stuff came back, and I've just been in Atlanta
- 9:40Speaker 3: ever since.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Now, what did you do when you moved to Atlanta.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I was in Atlanta probably three months before I started
- 9:46Speaker 3: doing comedy. Bro.
- 9:47Speaker 4: I was selling phones at the mall.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Man Lets. You kept a job.
- 9:56Speaker 1: There's something consistent in this whole story is you always
- 9:59Speaker 1: had some and you always had a job.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I don't understand why dudes don't want a job, Bro,
- 10:03Speaker 3: you get money and meeting women every day, you just get.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Up and do something. You gotta do something.
- 10:08Speaker 1: If you don't mind asking which mall were you at?
- 10:11Speaker 4: I was at Town Center Mall in Kennesas, Okay.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Yeah, me and my boy, Clayton English was out there
- 10:16Speaker 3: working and uh we just started.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Kicking it every day at work.
- 10:20Speaker 3: And he actually started working at our kid when they
- 10:22Speaker 3: first open Atlantic. Yeah, but he never quit and they
- 10:25Speaker 3: would always ask me, Brudd, did he come to work?
- 10:28Speaker 3: And I ain't the type of person getting nobody else.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah he was there, but I'm you know, man, I'm
- 10:33Speaker 3: just but he was getting checked me like four or
- 10:35Speaker 3: five months after we after he quit that job.
- 10:38Speaker 4: So that's how me and him got.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So he was getting paid at a job that he
- 10:41Speaker 2: already left, but they were checking y'all supervisors.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Like yo, your boy working like yeah, you right here?
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah? Why would I you know what I'm saying, y'all
- 10:48Speaker 3: figure it out.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm not the work snitch.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's a lot of those How we got like real
- 10:53Speaker 3: cool though, because he got all them checks and he
- 10:56Speaker 3: was like you was the one telling I'm like, yeah, bro,
- 10:58Speaker 3: you left me up there by myself left Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 1: So now we're going when you started exactly when did
- 11:07Speaker 1: the comedy opportunity happen in Atlanta?
- 11:10Speaker 3: Man right on Tenth Street at Twisted Taco.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Ah.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they had the dopest open mic in the city.
- 11:16Speaker 3: So we went down there probably about maybe three four,
- 11:19Speaker 3: like three weeks to a month, just trying to get
- 11:22Speaker 3: into rotation.
- 11:23Speaker 4: But they showed was so dope. They had like.
- 11:25Speaker 3: The comedians who were established, and they had like the
- 11:28Speaker 3: openings that they like, and then they had like the
- 11:30Speaker 3: amateurs that they liked. So it was kind of hard
- 11:32Speaker 3: to get into rotation. But once we got in there,
- 11:35Speaker 3: one show led to another show to another show. People
- 11:38Speaker 3: started turning us on the different spots and then learned
- 11:40Speaker 3: the game and went and got a couple of my
- 11:42Speaker 3: own rooms that I was hosting, and just like you know,
- 11:47Speaker 3: you know how the city is, so when you got
- 11:49Speaker 3: an event, you definitely can get Like if you can
- 11:52Speaker 3: fill up the strip club, they'll let you host something
- 11:54Speaker 3: at the Strip Club. So I start hosting a lot
- 11:56Speaker 3: of like amateur nights and uh hosted the Cametal contests
- 12:01Speaker 3: and the.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Strip of Boxing And you.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Remember when they was doing the slap Slapper Chick contest.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I was hosting a lot of like all the like
- 12:10Speaker 3: Little Amateur Knights and the Strip Club got get your
- 12:13Speaker 3: Name Out.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, So I built.
- 12:14Speaker 3: The following off of that actually, like the extra curriculum,
- 12:18Speaker 3: so that the money is starting to not the money
- 12:21Speaker 3: never came.
- 12:22Speaker 4: It was just hustling. You know what I'm saying. You
- 12:24Speaker 4: just putting money some money.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yeah, but it ain't like I'm able to like stack up. No,
- 12:28Speaker 3: like at least your lights ain't cut off. I'm still
- 12:30Speaker 3: hustling type is Yeah every night, I gotta be there
- 12:33Speaker 3: type Yeah, you gotta do something.
- 12:36Speaker 2: So when when you do improv, right, and improv is
- 12:39Speaker 2: like that, it's off scripted, like there's there's no when
- 12:42Speaker 2: people go do these improv like comedians do it, there's
- 12:45Speaker 2: like no script. They just going off the top of
- 12:47Speaker 2: the head like when they do it, or they already
- 12:49Speaker 2: had a set.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's not a set. But when you're doing improv,
- 12:53Speaker 3: it's just kind of like in the moment, creating a scenario.
- 12:57Speaker 4: That's what makes it go.
- 12:58Speaker 3: If you can't just do it proud without crowd to participation, God,
- 13:02Speaker 3: you get what I'm saying, Because they kind of they
- 13:04Speaker 3: kind of build the scene, So you kind of depending
- 13:07Speaker 3: on the crowd for like set up in the premise
- 13:09Speaker 3: and then as a comedian, you delivered the punchline and.
- 13:12Speaker 1: You gotta be really quick on your toes as fast
- 13:15Speaker 1: as possible.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because people can see the process. They know when
- 13:19Speaker 3: you you know what I mean, the people still sitting
- 13:22Speaker 3: in the front.
- 13:23Speaker 2: If I'm going to an improv, I'm not sitting in
- 13:25Speaker 2: the front because I'm not about to sit down.
- 13:26Speaker 3: You're roast. You ain't fun. Then those people who sit
- 13:29Speaker 3: in the front love comedy. A lot of those people
- 13:32Speaker 3: they like to be I love comedy too, Yes I do.
- 13:36Speaker 3: If you don't want to sit in the front, you.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Do because you have to be able to take a joke.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Man. Listen.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I went to a comedy show and I sat in
- 13:43Speaker 2: the back and they was roasting me, like, oh BC,
- 13:45Speaker 2: we see you way.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Back up, Like, don't roast me exactly, I don't have
- 13:48Speaker 3: a mic.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You take the jump though.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 3: But a lot of people who sit like close to
- 13:54Speaker 3: the stage, they like that. Oh got yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 2: See I never knew that. I always I always wanted that.
- 14:01Speaker 2: That Like when I'm like when I see people accomplish it,
- 14:03Speaker 2: I'm like man, you just right here for rapid fire.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So you're in Atlanta, you hustling, you're
- 14:11Speaker 1: doing things like that. When is when is the moment
- 14:13Speaker 1: happened that Carlos Miller starts making some money.
- 14:18Speaker 3: I ain't making no money, bro, They still ain't happen.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Wait, so I see Netflix deal when I came to
- 14:25Speaker 2: La one Netflix show.
- 14:27Speaker 4: You didn't see the deal?
- 14:28Speaker 3: No, I'm just buching. I don't know the exact moment
- 14:33Speaker 3: that you know what I'm saying, because it's never like
- 14:35Speaker 3: somebody just hand you a big check. It's just you
- 14:38Speaker 3: just stack a few checks.
- 14:41Speaker 2: When were you able to start stacking a few checks
- 14:43Speaker 2: where you're like, okay, I can breathe a little bit.
- 14:45Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I could put a little something back in the savings account.
- 14:49Speaker 3: I always was doing that, Okay, you know what I mean.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It's just that, you know, you go from a little
- 14:54Speaker 3: bit with your money, is what you say. Yeah, that's
- 14:56Speaker 3: the first thing that you learn when you don't have
- 14:58Speaker 3: no money. Like, once you go all the way down
- 15:01Speaker 3: and your networth be negative, you start like once you
- 15:04Speaker 3: start getting anything, you start all right, putting something, start
- 15:08Speaker 3: being a little frugal putting something with some you know,
- 15:11Speaker 3: you gotta have a right here. You got Yeah, I'm frue.
- 15:14Speaker 3: It's good because you know that stuff don't mean nothing.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Just buying a bunch of clothes that you ain't gonna
- 15:19Speaker 3: wear next summer. So that's why I get all my
- 15:20Speaker 3: clothes free. Shout out the fashion over fast. That's what's appreciation,
- 15:24Speaker 3: that's what's up.
- 15:24Speaker 4: They gave me nothing. You you probably ask them.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I didn't know you had to ask.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You got the follow them for it.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I thought they just picked through they like I'm asking.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I'm asking everybody. Somebody want to give me some free
- 15:36Speaker 2: shoes anything. Look, you just got to put in the universe.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Oh well, give me something free, send me some money.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna influence.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We got influence. This commercial break coming right down with
- 15:47Speaker 1: Carlos Miller on The Baller Show by Revolt. Ain't twn
- 15:50Speaker 1: What up?
- 15:51Speaker 4: Hey, Welcome back to the Battle Alert podcast.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I got to see you about Revolt brought to you
- 15:57Speaker 3: by Revolt. I got my player partners in the building
- 16:00Speaker 3: with us that I got Btn Ferri. So, guys, when
- 16:05Speaker 3: y'all started blowing up on this podcast making all this money, I.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Would say, no, you did just get a new promotion.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Though I did get a new promotion.
- 16:16Speaker 1: He's the APD, yeah assist, the program director in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I kind of so. When I had my job at
- 16:24Speaker 1: Warner Records, I enjoyed it, but it was I was
- 16:27Speaker 1: working at a record label and it was cool. But
- 16:30Speaker 1: radio was in my blood because I had What happened
- 16:33Speaker 1: was my contract was up at another radio station, so
- 16:36Speaker 1: I left and I went, I need I needed. I
- 16:39Speaker 1: had a six month nine compete. I was like, like you,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I was shoot, I didn't give music some money exactly.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I had got a job at Warner Records, and I
- 16:47Speaker 1: was the national director of Make Sure Promotion and Lifestyle,
- 16:52Speaker 1: and I learned a lot about the music industry, the
- 16:55Speaker 1: behind the scenes, how they view us, how they view
- 16:58Speaker 1: actors and everybody. I learn why artists get frustrated with
- 17:02Speaker 1: the label. I understand where the money is coming from,
- 17:04Speaker 1: you know. I understood everything. And I was just like, man,
- 17:07Speaker 1: you know what, I want to be an executive on
- 17:09Speaker 1: the radio side.
- 17:10Speaker 3: It seems like now that radio is more about everything
- 17:14Speaker 3: except the music Now, I mean, I feel like that's everything,
- 17:18Speaker 3: even even.
- 17:19Speaker 1: When back in the car. Now remember the pandemic messed
- 17:21Speaker 1: the radio up from.
- 17:22Speaker 4: A lot of people, a lot of people all stay
- 17:24Speaker 4: jobs in that car.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Yeah, but you got to keep in mind it's a
- 17:28Speaker 3: lot of people who had worked at the warehouse, riding
- 17:31Speaker 3: around on the fork lifts and you know, doing jobs
- 17:34Speaker 3: where they the radio is vital.
- 17:36Speaker 4: That's your only look.
- 17:38Speaker 3: People be forgetting that though, man, because like with the podcast,
- 17:42Speaker 3: I learned that we got a big audience of people
- 17:45Speaker 3: who got audios where they just can listen, they can't
- 17:48Speaker 3: watch it. Truck drivers they love to listen to the
- 17:51Speaker 3: audio and stuff like that.
- 17:53Speaker 4: So I think a lot.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Of people be forgetting those those markets. It's different.
- 17:57Speaker 2: It's so many different markets that people like so consumed with,
- 18:00Speaker 2: just like content, and people don't understand that the average
- 18:03Speaker 2: person is driving to work listening to the radio station.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Still.
- 18:07Speaker 1: But the reason why the other things are important now
- 18:10Speaker 1: is because it's only it's not only one thing anymore.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So of course listening to radio could be one thing,
- 18:17Speaker 1: but what if you didn't listen that day?
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but radio is the detriment to itself. They play
- 18:21Speaker 3: four songs, fifteen commercials every time. Every time they come
- 18:26Speaker 3: back from commercial they laughing they never tell us what
- 18:28Speaker 3: they laughing about. That's bad.
- 18:29Speaker 4: That's a bad that's a bad show.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Thirty commercials interrupted radio, interrupting the radioy.
- 18:36Speaker 1: But our show is not like that.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That is a bad show because those are what's called
- 18:42Speaker 2: talent that alienates the listeners.
- 18:44Speaker 3: If I'm laughing about something, I'm gonna.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Tell you, even if it's even if it's some stuff
- 18:48Speaker 2: I shouldn't be talking about, I'm gonna tell you what
- 18:49Speaker 2: we were just laughing about.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You're gonna be like we treat our listeners like the celebrities.
- 18:53Speaker 1: So our listeners or are the celebrities to our show?
- 18:56Speaker 1: They call it a lot.
- 18:57Speaker 3: They still give away stuff on the radio.
- 19:00Speaker 2: We just we just gave away Beyonce tickets, Chris Brown tickets,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and the weekend tickets.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah tickets, I'm gonna get y'all made itself tickets.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Not for real.
- 19:09Speaker 1: First of all, we could do a whole eighty five,
- 19:11Speaker 1: Soyle takeover.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Who We need y'all to come to the show and
- 19:15Speaker 3: do a live.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Whatever you want?
- 19:17Speaker 3: A bet? I like that.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Now back to you, mister Carlos.
- 19:21Speaker 4: I want to talk about this Netflix deal.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Because I like the pocket watch sometimes, you know, and
- 19:26Speaker 2: I was like, I was driving in LA and I
- 19:30Speaker 2: saw y'all billboards and I was like, what the helly I.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Said they getting y'all.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Y'all really motivate me a lot because I see the
- 19:40Speaker 2: things that you guys do, and I've seen how y'all
- 19:42Speaker 2: just build it the ground, just brick by brick.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Now, did y'all get.
- 19:45Speaker 3: That Netflix deal grinding manduring the pandemic or not doing
- 19:50Speaker 3: the pandemic? But that's when we got a lot of
- 19:51Speaker 3: people actually watching the show. So we started posting these
- 19:56Speaker 3: live shows like prior to Genius, like the live shows.
- 20:00Speaker 3: The numbers were going crazy, and Netflix was like, we
- 20:05Speaker 3: want some of that, and they hit us, and then
- 20:08Speaker 3: we had to get together and try to put something
- 20:09Speaker 3: together that would work for the platform and pull it off.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Now you DC, Chico, how did you guys.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Link wilding Out? Okay, wilding Out bro So me and
- 20:25Speaker 3: Chico we got it. We came in Wilding Out season five.
- 20:28Speaker 1: And he still got the little hair back there receiving hairline.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Yeah, he's still he still got it, and he's still
- 20:34Speaker 3: braided up.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Yeah, at least he can still get braided. Because some
- 20:37Speaker 4: people in their hairline go they can't even get no braid.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Like back here, his hairline has went.
- 20:41Speaker 3: He can still get braids.
- 20:43Speaker 1: His brains start back here.
- 20:44Speaker 4: It don't maut it.
- 20:45Speaker 3: He got braid.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Some people listen, He blessed to be able to even
- 20:49Speaker 2: put something together back there, because some people in it
- 20:51Speaker 2: with nothing.
- 20:52Speaker 1: So you can't grow any hair. Pause.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, okay, of course, it's just it's just
- 20:56Speaker 3: I don't think that this is gonna look proper time
- 21:00Speaker 3: growing out. I've been balled this long while. Wait, how
- 21:05Speaker 3: long have you been bald? That's not a pause?
- 21:10Speaker 4: Eight or ten years or something like that. Oh yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 4: but at least you said, all right, did you cry
- 21:17Speaker 4: when you have to do it?
- 21:18Speaker 3: When you are my dad Ball?
- 21:20Speaker 4: He used to tell me all the time. Ball one day.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Oh so it was already prepared.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, it's genetically balked. But like you said, we
- 21:28Speaker 3: started in season five, and then DC came.
- 21:32Speaker 4: In season seven. She goes already my dog.
- 21:36Speaker 3: And then DC did an interview and he told him
- 21:39Speaker 3: that I was one of his favorite comedians, and then
- 21:40Speaker 3: we linked up, and then a couple of months later
- 21:43Speaker 3: he got invited to wild'n Out season seven. So he
- 21:47Speaker 3: was always like the wild, crazy one, like you know,
- 21:51Speaker 3: a little brother for very long I'm saying. So he
- 21:54Speaker 3: was the one, and it was just dope just to
- 21:56Speaker 3: see him go from the like literally from the streets
- 21:59Speaker 3: to TV. And he was just like, you know what
- 22:01Speaker 3: I mean, he's still liked that, Like he's still in
- 22:03Speaker 3: the moment. So yeah, he when we got there, he
- 22:07Speaker 3: was like, oh, you ain't messing with me no more.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Now with your real friends, like bro, And he's just
- 22:13Speaker 3: every time we got together, we would just have these conversations,
- 22:16Speaker 3: these powerows. Was just make each other laugh. So I
- 22:19Speaker 3: was like, bro, we got to put this on something.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And they went, where did where did eighty five South
- 22:24Speaker 1: come from?
- 22:25Speaker 4: From the city of Atlanta? Bro, you know what I.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Mean, just because I know she goes from DC.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, but eighty five South Me and DC started
- 22:32Speaker 3: the podcast, so we just, you know, we're just kind
- 22:35Speaker 3: of looking for a metaphor see how eighty five just
- 22:38Speaker 3: kind of like run through the city. And he's like, man,
- 22:40Speaker 3: we're gonna take this on the road. We're gonna run
- 22:42Speaker 3: through every city that we go to. And it was
- 22:43Speaker 3: like eighty five South, We're running through the city, like
- 22:46Speaker 3: eighty five self and it just kind of stuck.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Well, we're gonna hold that right there. We're gonna talk
- 22:50Speaker 1: about eighty five South and beyond when we come back
- 22:53Speaker 1: with the Ball Show. Carlos Ball Alert, Yo, Revolt, what up?
- 22:58Speaker 1: And we are back on the Ball Alert Show, brought
- 23:00Speaker 1: to you by a Revolt Carlos Millers in the building.
- 23:02Speaker 1: We was talking about eighty five South the podcast. Yeah,
- 23:07Speaker 1: but I want to talk about when you took Did
- 23:09Speaker 1: you guys take eighty five South on the road?
- 23:11Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:11Speaker 3: Okay, But see, we started small and then we went big.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Like we started with a small club venue.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It's like, let's see if it can work in the club,
- 23:20Speaker 3: and then we kind of moved from the clubs to
- 23:22Speaker 3: the theaters and then from the theaters to the arenas,
- 23:26Speaker 3: you know, so we kind of like built it out now.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Man. First of all, y'all show is just amazing and
- 23:32Speaker 1: it's fully improv Yeah right, yeah, so y'all don't plan nothing,
- 23:38Speaker 1: y'all just go out there. Y'all had a little music
- 23:41Speaker 1: playing in.
- 23:41Speaker 3: The back rod. But that's that. We got to credit
- 23:43Speaker 3: the audience for that because they smart enough to know
- 23:46Speaker 3: the difference, because they follow us. They know when we
- 23:49Speaker 3: don't wilding out about where the line is the lines
- 23:52Speaker 3: that we can't cross. And they've seen us be scripted,
- 23:55Speaker 3: they've seen us work in different capacity, so when they
- 23:58Speaker 3: see us live, they want us he was wrong. Now,
- 24:01Speaker 3: I ain't gonna lie.
- 24:02Speaker 2: When I saw Rick Ross walk out, I thought that
- 24:05Speaker 2: was fake. Why because I thought it was a setup.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Now that's that's improv at his finance, you don't you
- 24:11Speaker 3: don't know what's gonna happen. But if you think about it,
- 24:14Speaker 3: like it just it totally fits his character. I wouldn't
- 24:17Speaker 3: have it no other way because it's just I loved it.
- 24:20Speaker 3: It's still mysterious. Ever come back on the show, I
- 24:23Speaker 3: want him to wear the exact same thing and just
- 24:25Speaker 3: act like he just you know what I mean. It's
- 24:27Speaker 3: just a part too lingering.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I would say. One of my favorite moments is when
- 24:31Speaker 1: DC got on the Young Ladies Electric schoo.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Single.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Yeah, Bro, I just don't I be over here like
- 24:40Speaker 1: y'all are some damn fools, bro.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Yeah bro, we don't have no control over this. We
- 24:46Speaker 3: have some like our fan base is wow wow wow,
- 24:51Speaker 3: like we were getting ready. Like at the end of
- 24:52Speaker 3: the show. We always take a picture like with the
- 24:54Speaker 3: crowd in the audience. Man, somebody threw a prosthetic leg
- 24:57Speaker 3: on stage, like put my leg in the And there
- 25:01Speaker 3: was this lady. She come to all the shows and
- 25:03Speaker 3: she got like this little little like claw, but she
- 25:07Speaker 3: always be like, don't be talking about me. And it's
- 25:10Speaker 3: just like, it's so much love, man, because we don't
- 25:12Speaker 3: never alien aint nobody and make.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Them feel crazy.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Like we got people who come to the shows with handicaps,
- 25:18Speaker 3: we got people with little baby legs who love us.
- 25:21Speaker 3: We got fans all over the place. And then people
- 25:24Speaker 3: be like, man, you shouldn't be making front of them people.
- 25:26Speaker 3: But then we do the meet and greet, and these
- 25:28Speaker 3: people will come up and be like, man, ain't.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Say nothing about us, Like are they?
- 25:34Speaker 3: These are the people who laugh at stuff like that,
- 25:37Speaker 3: who don't want you to feel sorry for him, who
- 25:39Speaker 3: don't want to be feeling left out, or like you
- 25:42Speaker 3: can't say nothing to him, like, bro, we've heard some
- 25:44Speaker 3: of the funniest stuff just from the people in the crowd.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Now had one show, this dude found out that his
- 25:50Speaker 3: baby mama was sleeping with his other baby mama baby daddy,
- 25:55Speaker 3: So to get some get back, he slept with the dude,
- 25:58Speaker 3: wife damn bro. So they kind of like did like
- 26:01Speaker 3: a wife trade at the show. You got to he said,
- 26:03Speaker 3: you want to go left? Pull it up?
- 26:07Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Y'all had one show, correct me from in Atlanta. Bridge
- 26:11Speaker 1: on the Kwan came.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Out most definitely was performed on the Netflix.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that was just that was a dope moment.
- 26:17Speaker 4: And he came, I think to the Fox when we
- 26:19Speaker 4: were at the Fox. Yeah.
- 26:20Speaker 3: So we always try to get somebody to come, like
- 26:23Speaker 3: when we're in Atlanta to come and you know, bless
- 26:26Speaker 3: the stage or something like that. I want to get
- 26:27Speaker 3: a Lotto on there. Okay, I want to do the
- 26:29Speaker 3: interview with Lotto?
- 26:30Speaker 1: What what? What are some times when y'all probably was like, man,
- 26:33Speaker 1: this crowd won't really feeling us the dyke y'all ever
- 26:36Speaker 1: have that?
- 26:37Speaker 3: Okay?
- 26:38Speaker 2: Sometimes I've never seen even when y'all go to New
- 26:40Speaker 2: York because they said New York when you when they go, like.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Everybody else New York love us, bro. You think I'm
- 26:46Speaker 3: exaggerating when I said that, we probably the only people
- 26:49Speaker 3: who have performed four live shows in a rope like
- 26:53Speaker 3: in a day at the Apollo. Yeah, New York show
- 26:57Speaker 3: us much love. So I can't ain't been nowhere that
- 27:00Speaker 3: ain't showed us little?
- 27:02Speaker 1: Do you guys? Do you feel like you guys have
- 27:05Speaker 1: more to accomplish as a team?
- 27:09Speaker 3: Absolutely? Okay, just the beginning.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And what would that look like as as something more
- 27:14Speaker 1: to accomplish for the eighty five South.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Show, more TV and more movies. Yeah, that's the next
- 27:19Speaker 3: play to get into the movie game. Now, did y'all
- 27:22Speaker 3: tell Netflix? Like, man, we're trying to re up. That's
- 27:26Speaker 3: the thing about it. It ain't really a Netflix to tell.
- 27:29Speaker 3: It's a company. But it ain't like you could just
- 27:31Speaker 3: call Netflix. Yeah, don't call us.
- 27:34Speaker 4: We'll say, okay, now we get a little closer to okay.
- 27:37Speaker 4: But you know one thing.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Ever since then, like they gave us, they rolled it
- 27:43Speaker 3: out for us. We could go to the office, we
- 27:45Speaker 3: can talk to the head of Netflix and it's just like, hey,
- 27:48Speaker 3: what y'all got going on with y'all? Are y'all interested
- 27:50Speaker 3: in doing some of these type of shows or we'll
- 27:52Speaker 3: consider you.
- 27:53Speaker 4: We'll put you in touch with the people.
- 27:55Speaker 3: But you know, just nothing has materialized, but they left
- 27:58Speaker 3: the door open. Definitely interested in working with them in
- 28:01Speaker 3: any you know, other capacity. What's your favorite city to
- 28:04Speaker 3: go to. I don't know if we necessarily have a favorite,
- 28:07Speaker 3: because you I feel like every comedian has they they like,
- 28:11Speaker 3: I know when I go to this city.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Thing about it.
- 28:13Speaker 3: If you go watch any of the live shows, like
- 28:16Speaker 3: every city that we go to, and they see that
- 28:18Speaker 3: this city showing.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Us love, I'll do it. Through the colleges, they be
- 28:24Speaker 1: a little bit more turned though.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Right because the little kids have been watching us in
- 28:29Speaker 3: six seventh grade and this is probably their first comedy show,
- 28:34Speaker 3: especially like the first live show, so they just experiencing
- 28:38Speaker 3: it as they saw it.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because I feel like I forgot where y'all was at.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Y'all did a homecomings?
- 28:43Speaker 3: You or family? I watch out like fifteen thousand people there,
- 28:49Speaker 3: fifteen thousand people I'm talking.
- 28:51Speaker 1: About, Bro, homecoming had to capacity.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Bro.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll go through a whole You'll go down a
- 28:56Speaker 1: whole rabbit hole watching the YouTube page because it's just
- 28:59Speaker 1: so organically funny.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I always I always watch all interviews that I was
- 29:04Speaker 2: just sitting on the couch, y'all.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Just hi, y'all, just like just say, I feel like
- 29:08Speaker 3: that's a different layer to the show though, Yes, that
- 29:10Speaker 3: that the podcast in the studio and the live show
- 29:14Speaker 3: is worlds apart for sure.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just the trap.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Episodes in the studio is that's just in between laves.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Do you guys do that kind of just you know,
- 29:26Speaker 1: because you should do because do you prefer to do
- 29:29Speaker 1: the live show versus the sit down and have a
- 29:32Speaker 1: set type of thing.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Well, see, I think it's about fifty to fifty like
- 29:37Speaker 3: the live show, like without the the podcast.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Like the podcast, fuse the live show.
- 29:43Speaker 3: That's what makes people tune in and be like, all right, man,
- 29:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna come see on when they come.
- 29:48Speaker 4: So it's kind of like.
- 29:50Speaker 3: One hand watches the other like the podcast promotes the
- 29:53Speaker 3: live show.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Now, do you do you feel like in this generation
- 29:58Speaker 2: it's like a lot harder to be a comedian.
- 30:00Speaker 4: You gotta know what not to cross the line.
- 30:03Speaker 3: That's the that's the best part about being a comedian.
- 30:06Speaker 3: It's figuring out how to cross the line. Yeah, why
- 30:11Speaker 3: would you play it safe? You can as a consumer
- 30:17Speaker 3: when you watch somebody even be like I ain't really
- 30:21Speaker 3: go all no, you had to do it big. Don't
- 30:24Speaker 3: play it safe, because that's where your creativity comes in.
- 30:28Speaker 3: How can you creatively cross the line? Because there's a
- 30:32Speaker 3: there's a difference in between being creative and being I'm
- 30:35Speaker 3: seeing or explicit. They don't always have to be offensive
- 30:39Speaker 3: creatively across the line.
- 30:41Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, You get you give them
- 30:44Speaker 2: some gyms because I feel like a lot of comedians
- 30:46Speaker 2: now they're so afraid to like even like I watched
- 30:49Speaker 2: some people concentsration.
- 30:50Speaker 4: I like, I'll be like, man, they they afraid.
- 30:54Speaker 3: To like, go go.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I can tell they afraid to go to the next level.
- 30:57Speaker 3: But see, that's just like what you're saying earlier about
- 30:59Speaker 3: with the music though. It's like there are comedians who
- 31:01Speaker 3: aren't afraid, but they're not they're not as notable as
- 31:06Speaker 3: the ones that you're getting to watch. You kind of
- 31:08Speaker 3: gotta go find the ones that you want to see. Yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 3: it's definitely some lane crosses out there, habitual line steppers.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Okay, let's habitually go to commercial? Uh. The Revolt episode
- 31:22Speaker 1: of The Ball Alert Show with Carlos Miller coming right back.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and we are back right here Revolt TV, Ball
- 31:28Speaker 2: Alert Show Man. We over here just talking about everything comedy,
- 31:33Speaker 2: what lies.
- 31:34Speaker 4: The cross and what not, The Crossross.
- 31:36Speaker 1: All the land, Carlos Miller is in the building now
- 31:40Speaker 1: not to get too personal one time for Keisha with
- 31:43Speaker 1: the Faith Project.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Set that up like that they don't get too personal
- 31:48Speaker 3: and then shut out to shout that what you said
- 32:00Speaker 3: it does make himself like Keisha was like her over
- 32:04Speaker 3: like you're still I don't want to get in your shot.
- 32:12Speaker 1: The Faith Project is part of the segments called the
- 32:15Speaker 1: Mental Health Check is how how is Carlos Biller's mental
- 32:19Speaker 1: health and how do you strengthen it or keep it
- 32:22Speaker 1: strength strong? I don't know. You know what I try
- 32:25Speaker 1: to say.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I keep him going crazy or getting the press. Yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 3: check that account.
- 32:33Speaker 4: I told you we get a lot of money.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Check that account, bro, look at that number. Look at
- 32:39Speaker 3: it on that bro.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Yeah No, my mental health is great, bro.
- 32:44Speaker 3: But I keep keep some good family around me, my son,
- 32:48Speaker 3: keep me grounded. You know.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Just see you, man, you be real your temper, your temper,
- 32:54Speaker 1: your temperament is real level.
- 32:56Speaker 4: What do I see you?
- 32:58Speaker 3: He always he always chilled. Every day he seen me
- 33:01Speaker 3: was out of the.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Bro. I beat the game.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Man. I get to live my dreams every day. I
- 33:10Speaker 3: get to get up and do whatever I want to do. Man.
- 33:13Speaker 3: I get to go to the livest places, have the
- 33:15Speaker 3: dopest shows, kick it with the dopest people, hang around
- 33:19Speaker 3: beautiful women, eat good food, travel the world, buy whatever
- 33:23Speaker 3: I want. Bruh.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Life is good.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Life is good. And it's not because somebody gave it
- 33:28Speaker 3: to me or gave me a handout, or hit me
- 33:30Speaker 3: a lick or let me open for him or nothing.
- 33:32Speaker 3: But I just just purely off the ground. Yeah, so
- 33:37Speaker 3: my mental health is good to that. And you know,
- 33:39Speaker 3: but life happens. You have moments where you gotta you know,
- 33:42Speaker 3: where you gotta go and get yourself together. Ain't nothing
- 33:45Speaker 3: wrong with that, bro. A lot of fellas don't don't
- 33:47Speaker 3: want to admit it. Life will hurt you, man. It's
- 33:50Speaker 3: a lot of things out here that will break your heart.
- 33:52Speaker 3: So I try to smile and laugh as much as
- 33:54Speaker 3: I can because you're gonna cry at some point. It
- 33:57Speaker 3: ain't nothing wrong with that. That don't mean you're a
- 33:59Speaker 3: weak man or you weird or nothing like that. Hey man,
- 34:02Speaker 3: you gotta have emotions, like a lot of dudes. Try
- 34:04Speaker 3: to be tough all day every day. You mean to
- 34:07Speaker 3: tell me you don't love your grandma, your little niece,
- 34:09Speaker 3: don't run up to you and hug you and you
- 34:11Speaker 3: just tough all day every day. Come on, bro, those
- 34:14Speaker 3: are what we call crash outs. They don't have that's
- 34:16Speaker 3: those are the people who those the people that need
- 34:18Speaker 3: to go cry.
- 34:19Speaker 4: They don't have no value system.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Yeah, when they crash out because you, you're gonna put
- 34:23Speaker 3: the whole family in danger because you're trying to prove
- 34:25Speaker 3: a point. Ain't nobody got no money to keep coming
- 34:28Speaker 3: fixing your mistakes or bailing you out or putting the
- 34:32Speaker 3: house up. And you and you know you can't beat
- 34:34Speaker 3: this charge. You know what I'm saying, Like, Bro, you
- 34:37Speaker 3: gotta think about it. It's it's people who love you
- 34:39Speaker 3: that's gonna have to face the consequences of your actions
- 34:43Speaker 3: with you. You know what I'm saying. You don't want to
- 34:45Speaker 3: You don't want to break your mama heart. You don't
- 34:47Speaker 3: want to see your family sitting there like just you
- 34:49Speaker 3: don't want that, bro.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I appreciate that one. All right. Well, I know
- 34:54Speaker 1: you was on Shannon Sharp's episode that was fire.
- 34:58Speaker 3: That was a good episode. This bro, what are you
- 35:01Speaker 3: going with this?
- 35:04Speaker 1: I just saw it. I just saw you.
- 35:08Speaker 4: I forgot I forgot about that was going on all
- 35:13Speaker 4: about that.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I was just gonna lead to I just thought it
- 35:17Speaker 1: was dope to see you in a different light when
- 35:20Speaker 1: you were having a good conversation with the Brothers Channel Sharp,
- 35:22Speaker 1: so we wanted to bring you on ball alert a
- 35:24Speaker 1: similar good.
- 35:25Speaker 3: That's why I've been touching different platforms because I think
- 35:28Speaker 3: a lot of people think I'm a certain kind of way.
- 35:30Speaker 4: They don't understand, like, bro, you.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Know, like when you going to a party like party,
- 35:35Speaker 3: you ain't.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Ain't to you that show up to work.
- 35:38Speaker 3: So I've been wanting to hit different platforms and talk
- 35:41Speaker 3: about different stuff just so they can see that I'm
- 35:43Speaker 3: not just one dimensional. Definitely have some sense, Definitely not heartless,
- 35:48Speaker 3: Definitely gonna cross the land, Definitely gonna talk my ship
- 35:52Speaker 3: everywhere I go, even though they said I can't say ship.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Bleed it.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Why you got all these editors, they don't know how
- 35:59Speaker 1: to bleep? Now? You have so many things with the team.
- 36:06Speaker 1: What about Carlos Miller the solo act. What about Carlos
- 36:09Speaker 1: Miller the solo comedian?
- 36:12Speaker 4: Right, this is the thing about it.
- 36:13Speaker 3: When it comes to eighty five South show, I created it, right,
- 36:16Speaker 3: So it's my brand, it's my entity. So even when
- 36:20Speaker 3: I am solo I'm still gonna bring mine. I own it.
- 36:24Speaker 3: It's my idea. Why would I ever want to disassociate
- 36:27Speaker 3: myself from something I created? Jay Z, don't just go
- 36:30Speaker 3: drop an album and don't put Rockefeller on it. This
- 36:33Speaker 3: branding it's me. So I'm gonna take the good with
- 36:36Speaker 3: the bad. But I do tour solo, I do club shows,
- 36:41Speaker 3: I do my own tour.
- 36:43Speaker 4: I'm just building.
- 36:45Speaker 3: So everywhere I go, you're gonna see that eighty five
- 36:47Speaker 3: South because that's my brandy.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Because you definitely my building. Put your brand out, that's
- 36:53Speaker 2: my label. Every time you see me, you're gonna see
- 36:55Speaker 2: something eighty five. So yeah, that's what we're doing promoting
- 36:59Speaker 2: the app.
- 36:59Speaker 1: You know, we got the app, so it's eighty five
- 37:01Speaker 1: South app.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Channel eighty five I like that.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Get it right now in your app store, green bubble
- 37:09Speaker 1: or blue Bubble, and.
- 37:10Speaker 3: PlayStation, every every everywhere that you could download Channel Roku everywhere,
- 37:15Speaker 3: whatever you got, even if you don't have cable, you
- 37:17Speaker 3: have no excuse. And we put all the exclusive content
- 37:20Speaker 3: on all the shows that we produced in the house
- 37:24Speaker 3: studio all that, so yeah, make sure you do it,
- 37:26Speaker 3: y'all gotta come check the studio.
- 37:27Speaker 1: App no, we gotta definitely do that and listen, man,
- 37:31Speaker 1: love to We'll love to listen. Bro. We just wanted
- 37:33Speaker 1: to bring you on the show because I felt bad
- 37:35Speaker 1: because one of my good friends passed away. His name
- 37:37Speaker 1: was Chubby Baby.
- 37:38Speaker 3: He was DJL. Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Man, we were talking and I was like, we're supposed
- 37:43Speaker 1: to have him on the show, and I kept saying, damn,
- 37:44Speaker 1: you know, we wanna get you on the show. Our
- 37:46Speaker 1: schedule is so busy. I'm making a point to highlight
- 37:48Speaker 1: individuals like yourself upstairs the man and give your flowers
- 37:52Speaker 1: documented thank you, man, know what I'm saying, So we
- 37:54Speaker 1: can go back and rewatch these things. Should you know,
- 37:57Speaker 1: the time expire on anybody. So just wanted to make
- 38:01Speaker 1: sure that I give you your fly flowers live on television.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Man.
- 38:05Speaker 2: You're dope, bro, and what you're doing is dope to
- 38:07Speaker 2: thank you and y'all doing some amazing things, man, And
- 38:10Speaker 2: you guys are always just so humble man like, like
- 38:13Speaker 2: like I told you.
- 38:14Speaker 1: You don't have to be technically, you guys are y'all. Y'all,
- 38:19Speaker 1: we're not acting.
- 38:20Speaker 2: You guys are the standard though, But you know how
- 38:22Speaker 2: it is, like sometimes you meet certain people that you're
- 38:25Speaker 2: a fan of and then they're not the person that
- 38:27Speaker 2: you think they.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Think they are.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean, Like you'll be excited
- 38:31Speaker 2: to see somebody and like many you know what.
- 38:36Speaker 4: I met somebody when we were in l A.
- 38:38Speaker 2: And I was excited to see that person because I
- 38:40Speaker 2: love they content and I and the interaction was just like, Okay,
- 38:45Speaker 2: I should start streaming cause I should start exposing these
- 38:48Speaker 2: people that think they're bigger than they.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Keep in mind, some people are really good at their talent,
- 38:53Speaker 3: they're not good at the social side. Up, Yeah they're not.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Like you know, some people get social anxiety or they
- 39:00Speaker 3: can go in the room and create the dopest show,
- 39:03Speaker 3: but to have to deal with five thousand, ten thousand
- 39:06Speaker 3: people that kind of make them you know what I'm saying, understand.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Yeah, to give them a little grace.
- 39:11Speaker 3: No, man, they gotta stop acting.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Go like sometimes that's that's.
- 39:15Speaker 3: That's not the act. That's the real The act is
- 39:19Speaker 3: what you from like watching so you well, you know,
- 39:23Speaker 3: you ste around long enough, you start to notice sometimes
- 39:26Speaker 3: you you ain't gonna get the person you want to
- 39:29Speaker 3: meet the first time or the first couple of times.
- 39:31Speaker 3: They kind of got warm up to you.
- 39:33Speaker 2: But I always tell people like the like when I
- 39:35Speaker 2: meet people in the interactions changed.
- 39:38Speaker 3: I'm like, man, you know when I first.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Met you, you was acting like this, and the day
- 39:42Speaker 4: they be.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Like then they give you the backstory and they act
- 39:45Speaker 3: like they don't remember. But they act like they don't remember,
- 39:47Speaker 3: or they give you a backstory.
- 39:48Speaker 2: It's like, oh, man, I was going through this at
- 39:50Speaker 2: the time, so you you you're right. You do have
- 39:51Speaker 2: to give people grace. But something some people you would
- 39:53Speaker 2: meet them, I'm like, man, this person is too crazy.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Like people changed to that's just very trumba will make
- 39:59Speaker 3: some had it turned to a whole nother person.
- 40:01Speaker 1: So Notah for sure. So listen, man, we appreciate you,
- 40:06Speaker 1: my brother. Uh. And that concludes our episode of The
- 40:09Speaker 1: ball Or Show on Revolt with Carlos Miller.
