- 0:00Speaker 1: With Stu Gotts and Hawkman.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I mean.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Say it back to me, the time of our lives
- 0:12Speaker 3: give me and I mean time of our lives.
- 0:15Speaker 4: I mean time of our lives, Hawk I mean not
- 0:18Speaker 4: time of our lives. I really am having I am
- 0:21Speaker 4: having the time of my life doing this with you.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm not even joking. I will tell you.
- 0:27Speaker 3: The comments on the YouTube page for the last couple
- 0:31Speaker 3: of episodes of with Stu Gotts and Hawkman. The second
- 0:37Speaker 3: the last episode we did was fake Frank de Ford
- 0:40Speaker 3: and fake Dusty Rhodes, and the one before that was
- 0:43Speaker 3: fake Howard and people are loving them. I'm opening up
- 0:48Speaker 3: the uh, the fake DeFord right now. You can probably
- 0:53Speaker 3: hear the sound, but I'm just looking at some of
- 0:55Speaker 3: the the comments.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Glad you post this today.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Just listening to the audio version with the Violent Sneezer
- 1:04Speaker 3: remixes edit out, Yeah, the previous episode. If you listen
- 1:09Speaker 3: to just the audio version of the podcast, because there
- 1:12Speaker 3: was a lot of copy.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Written music in there, you can only watch.
- 1:15Speaker 3: The total episode on YouTube, but the audio episode gives
- 1:20Speaker 3: you a good taste of what it's about. But somebody
- 1:22Speaker 3: else puts in the comments fucking a you guys. I
- 1:27Speaker 3: still haven't stopped laughing from yesterday's episode, which was the
- 1:31Speaker 3: fake Howard one. You guys are awesome. Thanks for all
- 1:34Speaker 3: the episodes the last two weeks. It's been awesome. Then
- 1:38Speaker 3: there's this comment, I mean, and that was it, which.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Delights me to no end. Well, I can't imagine.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Actually, And let me give you a couple of the
- 1:53Speaker 3: the comments on the fake Howard Schnellenberger episode that we
- 1:57Speaker 3: had posted.
- 1:59Speaker 1: This one's interesting.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Somebody had posed well first time, and I see, holy shit,
- 2:04Speaker 3: you guys, this one has me totally freaking rolling, so
- 2:08Speaker 3: freaking funny, man, this was so much fun. This is
- 2:11Speaker 3: my favorite podcast by far. The next one says, and
- 2:15Speaker 3: I had this thought too, Poor Taylor, he seems so uninterested.
- 2:22Speaker 3: He's like, I left for this shit, right, But the
- 2:26Speaker 3: commenter says, but I love the old school stuff and
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm finally getting it.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And then someone responded to that, who the hell is Taylor?
- 2:38Speaker 3: And then someone responded to that the producer at the
- 2:40Speaker 3: bottom rebored by the fake Howard, the fake Frank to Ford,
- 2:46Speaker 3: the fake Dusty Rhodes.
- 2:47Speaker 5: So I think what happened there is when we do
- 2:50Speaker 5: these in the morning. I'm also juggling the radio show
- 2:54Speaker 5: and the podcast coming up. So if I'm doing like
- 2:57Speaker 5: a guest lip shot and then I'm just keeping one
- 2:59Speaker 5: year out for hey Taylor play this sound?
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yes, yes, but are you bored? I mean right, because
- 3:04Speaker 1: he didn't really answer it right. Yes, it was a
- 3:07Speaker 1: very nice answer.
- 3:08Speaker 4: It was a it was a nice way of saying
- 3:10Speaker 4: politically that you're not bored.
- 3:12Speaker 1: He's not our target audio thinking you're bored. I mean
- 3:16Speaker 1: one one last chance here.
- 3:18Speaker 5: To think I was working on the prep shooter.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Interesting. No, I think somebody enjoys this Hawk, I do.
- 3:24Speaker 4: I think, first off, I think he enjoys the relationship
- 3:26Speaker 4: he has with you and and and I think he's
- 3:28Speaker 4: learned a lot just about doing the job producing for
- 3:32Speaker 4: the best to ever do it.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like he's sitting there going to all,
- 3:36Speaker 3: why can't we just do more episodes with Izzy.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Garbage? When somebody else is coming on?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Somebody else posted stew and Hawk are magic together, somebody
- 3:49Speaker 3: else puts funny enough. My favorite fake in show history
- 3:53Speaker 3: was fake Howard as well, but specifically fake Howard Cosell.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And we did have a fake Howard Cosell who would
- 4:01Speaker 1: call in every now and then yes we did.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Somebody posts legit cannot tell the difference between real and
- 4:07Speaker 3: fake Howard, so good. Somebody else posts Murray Murray anyway,
- 4:19Speaker 3: the responses with fake Howard, Fake Frank Tofford, and I
- 4:23Speaker 3: sent this morning to Barry, who is the genius behind.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Fake Howard, Fake Frank's Afford, and fake Dusty Rhodes. I
- 4:31Speaker 1: get him out of ta ticket and the ticket Wizard
- 4:36Speaker 1: of South Florida. I sent him this.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Morning the link to fake Frank to Ford and fake
- 4:42Speaker 3: Dusty Rhodes, and he just texted me back. He said, Man,
- 4:45Speaker 3: there is some funny shit in there, no doubt. The
- 4:47Speaker 3: Frank de fraud is by far my favorite, even though
- 4:51Speaker 3: it's probably my worst imitation.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But clearly I had the most fun with that one.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yes, and he did it did seem like he was
- 4:58Speaker 3: having fun deliver those lines as fake to Ford.
- 5:03Speaker 4: I remember thinking how cool it was for you guys,
- 5:06Speaker 4: because you all went to um. You're all friends, you Dan,
- 5:09Speaker 4: and like that's what you want when you do a
- 5:11Speaker 4: radio show. You set out to do a radio show
- 5:15Speaker 4: and you're trying to find your legs and it's gaining
- 5:17Speaker 4: in popularity, and then you're getting so much more confident
- 5:20Speaker 4: and better at it, that you start bringing in your friends's.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Characters because Lord knows that.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Barry has done that before for you, and Dan the
- 5:28Speaker 4: fake Howard, and then it turns into radio gold and
- 5:31Speaker 4: the audience falls in love with an attorney who just
- 5:34Speaker 4: happens to be a friend of yours. But I'm thinking,
- 5:36Speaker 4: that's how you cultivate an audience, you know. And the
- 5:39Speaker 4: audience loved Barry.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They loved the concept of the radio show when it
- 5:44Speaker 1: started in two thousand and four because I was doing
- 5:46Speaker 1: music radio at the time, which was my wheelhouse. I
- 5:49Speaker 1: love music.
- 5:50Speaker 3: And Dan called me and he said, hey, there's this
- 5:52Speaker 3: startup radio station. It's called seven ninety the Ticket, and
- 5:56Speaker 3: I've got to put together, you know, a staff for it.
- 5:59Speaker 3: And it was going to be Andy King, remember, and
- 6:01Speaker 3: it for one week it just wasn't working. And after
- 6:04Speaker 3: one week he's like, why don't you be the executive
- 6:07Speaker 3: producer of the show. And I remember saying to him, well,
- 6:09Speaker 3: I don't know sports radio like that because I had
- 6:12Speaker 3: only worked in the music format. I knew the format
- 6:15Speaker 3: of music backwards and forwards. And Dan remember he said
- 6:19Speaker 3: to me, but I'm not going to do a sports
- 6:21Speaker 3: radio show, because in my mind, a sports radio show
- 6:24Speaker 3: was Hank Oldberg, of course, and so it was going
- 6:26Speaker 3: to be caller after caller, and I'd have to have
- 6:29Speaker 3: all these you know, contacts, like how am I going
- 6:32Speaker 3: to get bean O Cook away from Hank Oldberg when
- 6:35Speaker 3: you're obviously gonna want him on the show? You know,
- 6:38Speaker 3: How am I going to get Dan Dierdorf to call
- 6:40Speaker 3: in when he's got a relationship with Hank? And I
- 6:44Speaker 3: remember Dan saying to me, he goes, no, no, no, no,
- 6:47Speaker 3: We're not doing.
- 6:47Speaker 1: A sports radio show.
- 6:49Speaker 3: We're doing every conversation that we had in college. So
- 6:54Speaker 3: the conversations that me and him and Jim Fravola and
- 7:01Speaker 3: Barry and the rest of our group, like the show
- 7:05Speaker 3: really just became an extension of that. Like all the
- 7:08Speaker 3: silliness is conversations. Back then, there was no texting. It's
- 7:12Speaker 3: the conversations we would have either at the house on
- 7:16Speaker 3: Ludlam Road or on phone, Like we would sit on
- 7:19Speaker 3: the phone and talk about that stuff all night.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Right, But you.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Guys loved it, and you guys made yourselves laugh. And
- 7:26Speaker 4: to be able to bring that to a platform, to
- 7:28Speaker 4: a live audience and have them love it the way
- 7:30Speaker 4: you guys loved it.
- 7:31Speaker 1: To me, that was tremendous. I just remember thinking that
- 7:33Speaker 1: early on.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I think you'll recall though, at the beginning, I'm not
- 7:37Speaker 3: certain people loved it. Oh sure, no they did it. No, yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 3: it were just was such a departure. I'm not certain
- 7:44Speaker 3: that you loved it. I'm not certain that the owner
- 7:47Speaker 3: of the station, Joel, loved it. Like I'm not certain
- 7:49Speaker 3: anyone really knew that this was going to be what the.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Show was like.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I just remember thinking it was a cool thing. I
- 7:56Speaker 4: just figured now I didn't love it at the beginning.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I knew I just had to roll with it, make
- 8:00Speaker 4: the best of it, you know, and be a good teammate.
- 8:02Speaker 1: That was it.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And you're right, these aren't my relationships. It's your guys relationships.
- 8:08Speaker 4: And I just had to fit in. That's all.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Well.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I was, you know, And I would try to go
- 8:11Speaker 3: out of my way to make sure everybody was satisfied.
- 8:15Speaker 3: It's kind of my my that's my personality. And Dan
- 8:19Speaker 3: would remind me over and over like, hey, don't worry
- 8:22Speaker 3: about what you're hearing from.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I don't know who the program was.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Jason Silotkin back then Yes, don't worry what you're hearing
- 8:29Speaker 3: from Jason Salotkin. Like he's going to tell you one thing,
- 8:33Speaker 3: he ain't gonna say it to me, and I don't
- 8:35Speaker 3: care what he says, right like, And that was kind
- 8:38Speaker 3: of revelatory for me because I hadn't had a work
- 8:41Speaker 3: relationship like that before. I had never had enough power
- 8:46Speaker 3: in any place that I worked to be able to
- 8:48Speaker 3: dismiss a superior's wants or desires. Right, So, if you
- 8:54Speaker 3: work somewhere and I was a night DJ and they
- 8:57Speaker 3: said you got to stop playing this song. You got
- 8:58Speaker 3: to start playing this song if it was against my
- 9:00Speaker 3: better judgment, I listened to my boss. That's all I knew.
- 9:04Speaker 3: And Dan was coming from a place that was, Hey,
- 9:09Speaker 3: I don't care what anybody tells me.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I'm your boss.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I'm my own boss. Yes, and I'll do what I
- 9:14Speaker 3: want to do. And if they don't want to hear
- 9:16Speaker 3: it anymore, they'll tell me they don't want to hear it,
- 9:19Speaker 3: and I don't know, I'll go back to my print
- 9:22Speaker 3: and television jobs and they can take the AM radio
- 9:25Speaker 3: station and shove it up their asses. Yes, And it
- 9:28Speaker 3: was really like that was me, Yes, and it was refreshing.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember Dan saying once and I think you
- 9:35Speaker 4: were out. He said it to Mike Ryan because there
- 9:37Speaker 4: was something that we were doing and Slocking wasn't happy.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I forget the exact timing of it and who he
- 9:42Speaker 4: said it to, but someone said, the PD want you
- 9:45Speaker 4: guys to get to sport whatever, and Dan goes, I'm
- 9:48Speaker 4: sitting and doing the show with his boss.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He's totally fine with it.
- 9:54Speaker 4: And I remember Dan feeling comfortable because he knew if
- 9:57Speaker 4: I was okay with it, it didn't matter what anyone
- 9:59Speaker 4: else thought. Not that he cared what I thought, but
- 10:02Speaker 4: at least he knew why I had his back because
- 10:03Speaker 4: I'm sitting there laughing. How could someone walk in and
- 10:05Speaker 4: say stop doing that when I'm enjoying it as much
- 10:08Speaker 4: as you guys.
- 10:08Speaker 2: You know?
- 10:09Speaker 3: How about this Taylor, who is imminently bored by all
- 10:13Speaker 3: of these episodes of the podcast, says that he has
- 10:16Speaker 3: found a couple of the fake Howard Cosell's that that
- 10:21Speaker 3: Texter had mentioned, Go ahead, fire one off, Taylor, Fike
- 10:25Speaker 3: is stop a taste?
- 10:30Speaker 1: Now do you know Howard Cosell?
- 10:32Speaker 5: Taylor, I know he's a broadcaster, A broadcaster Monday Night Football.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean he's not He's not wrong. He
- 10:40Speaker 1: is a broadcaster. He did you monye Football the sports.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Broadcast voice of my childhood, no doubt, right, boxing word
- 10:50Speaker 3: coat sell Worldwide? What was it called the Worldwide something
- 10:55Speaker 3: at words?
- 10:56Speaker 1: Remember that show? Yeah? What was it? He was he
- 11:01Speaker 1: the host of that?
- 11:02Speaker 4: She's wide world of sports Wide, worldwide wide world of sports.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yes, do you have another fake Howard Cosell?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yes, I carried the ball for Ruin Olds on Monday
- 11:13Speaker 3: Night Football.
- 11:14Speaker 1: We brought the National Football League to prominence.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Rune Arledge reference who used to be the sports boss
- 11:23Speaker 3: of ABC.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yes, run Arlidge, what.
- 11:26Speaker 4: A great reference, A perfect name, right, sounds like he
- 11:29Speaker 4: should be the ball.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You have another one? Yeah? One more?
- 11:33Speaker 6: I found the man with the protruding punch of a
- 11:37Speaker 6: Randall tech cub have no athletic texterity whatsoever.
- 11:42Speaker 3: It's so great. I mean, just Randall Randall Cobb was
- 11:47Speaker 3: a football player who became a boxer. Randall tech Cob.
- 11:51Speaker 3: That reference there like that, That impression is spot on, man.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yes, was it Howard cern who was on the air.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Did Howard stir Howard Cosell deliver it to was Hawk
- 12:03Speaker 4: the news about O Jay and the Bronco I forget,
- 12:06Speaker 4: like who knows it?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Well maybe I don't think so. Though.
- 12:11Speaker 3: It was Howard Cosell who delivered the news about John
- 12:14Speaker 3: Lennon being assassinated. Was during a Monday night football game,
- 12:18Speaker 3: and Howard Cosell only had like one tone.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It was this.
- 12:24Speaker 3: He wasn't able to modulate his volume his voice, and
- 12:28Speaker 3: so the way you might deliver. You know, John Lennon,
- 12:33Speaker 3: one of the most iconic musicians you know of our time,
- 12:37Speaker 3: had been assassinated and a Monday night football game was
- 12:39Speaker 3: going on. There was there was like no, it was
- 12:43Speaker 3: just like being told in a very you know, direct manner, Yes,
- 12:48Speaker 3: John Lennon has been assassinated outside the whatever hotel. I
- 12:55Speaker 3: mean we were kids you I don't even know if
- 12:58Speaker 3: you were. When was John Lennon assassinated?
- 13:00Speaker 4: I think it was nineteen eighty somewhere that.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Well make Cosel so great.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Sorry to get off on a tangent here with Cossell,
- 13:06Speaker 4: but this was a play by play guy and the
- 13:09Speaker 4: analyst is supposed to be the expert on the sport
- 13:11Speaker 4: that they are calling, and Cossell wanted nothing to do
- 13:14Speaker 4: with that.
- 13:14Speaker 1: He would argue with the analyst Aho and questioned him
- 13:17Speaker 1: all the time.
- 13:18Speaker 3: There's plenty of clips of Howard Cosell being lit up
- 13:21Speaker 3: drunk during games. Yeah, he was an attorney by trade
- 13:25Speaker 3: and then became a broadcaster, but he was literally the voice.
- 13:28Speaker 3: He was the sports voice of my childhood. From my childhood.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I was born November of sixty nine, right, so I'm
- 13:37Speaker 3: really watching sports, say when I'm like seven eight years old,
- 13:40Speaker 3: so that's like seventy seven, seventy eight, and then.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Through the eighties.
- 13:44Speaker 3: My like sports voice soundtracks are Howard Cosell, Keith Jackson,
- 13:50Speaker 3: of course, and I was a Bears fan, so it
- 13:53Speaker 3: was the NFC, that was CBS. It was Brent Musberger,
- 13:58Speaker 3: IRV Cross so good, Jane Kennedy, Pat summer All and
- 14:02Speaker 3: John Matten, Pat summer All, John Madden.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, God, what a time. That's what broadcasters were. Broadcasters.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Jimmy the Greek.
- 14:12Speaker 3: You poor AFC fans got stuck with Pete Axe Thelm.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Yes, but it's so great because there was this one
- 14:19Speaker 4: rogue guy. Now everyone's picking games sports betting is legal,
- 14:23Speaker 4: but it was this one rogue guy on.
- 14:25Speaker 1: CBS, Jimmy the Greek, who.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Was picking games on a CBS NFL pregame show.
- 14:30Speaker 3: You know, and it was like this crazy like you know,
- 14:32Speaker 3: rudimentary board. And I remember one of his categories was
- 14:35Speaker 3: always intangibles. So he'd be like, well, they have a
- 14:39Speaker 3: better offense, they have a better defense, but the Packers
- 14:43Speaker 3: have it when it comes to intangibles.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I would take it.
- 14:50Speaker 3: All right, let me play you something for all the
- 14:52Speaker 3: listeners of the podcast. Here just a couple of little
- 14:55Speaker 3: fun clips from the from the show back in the day.
- 14:59Speaker 1: This one jumped out at me.
- 15:00Speaker 3: You know, we were always we've always been adamant on
- 15:04Speaker 3: this show and always were that the callers drove the show,
- 15:08Speaker 3: that it was the fake Howard Coseells and just all
- 15:11Speaker 3: the clever callers drove the show. But that doesn't mean
- 15:16Speaker 3: that Dan always hit a home run with a topic
- 15:19Speaker 3: that would generate calls. And I was listening to this
- 15:23Speaker 3: example of that. But then there was something funnier in there,
- 15:25Speaker 3: as the one person who does call in says how
- 15:28Speaker 3: you doing and gets suyed. In my mind, the Sui
- 15:32Speaker 3: was like suiy and then a couple of show clips
- 15:37Speaker 3: and then that was it. And I heard this Siuey
- 15:40Speaker 3: for the first time, and I'm like, Jesus Christ, that
- 15:42Speaker 3: had to be fifteen seconds? This like, what was I doing?
- 15:46Speaker 3: I got a little carried away here. So there's a
- 15:48Speaker 3: couple of things. You're gonna hear a segment that is
- 15:52Speaker 3: just the end of the segment. It falls flat on
- 15:54Speaker 3: its face because it's a terrible topic when you hear it,
- 15:58Speaker 3: and then you're gonna hear you're an actual sui, someone
- 16:01Speaker 3: gets sued, and you're going to realize that maybe it
- 16:05Speaker 3: had started to grow too long the suiy itself.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The reason we did that is Dan did.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Dan wanted to keep the show moving, didn't want you
- 16:13Speaker 4: to say hello.
- 16:13Speaker 1: He didn't want to say hi back to you. He
- 16:15Speaker 1: maintained that if.
- 16:17Speaker 4: You said hello, what's going on guys and he told
- 16:19Speaker 4: you he had cancer, that you would move on with
- 16:21Speaker 4: your dolphin question and not ask him if he's going
- 16:23Speaker 4: to be okay, you know.
- 16:25Speaker 3: And so his whole concept was if you say how
- 16:27Speaker 3: you're doing or how's it going, we hit the suiy,
- 16:30Speaker 3: we hang up on you.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And that's how you teach the callers that.
- 16:36Speaker 3: They can wait on hold for thirty minutes and if
- 16:38Speaker 3: they say how you're doing, they're going to get hung
- 16:39Speaker 3: up and they don't get to say their piece. And
- 16:41Speaker 3: so that was you know, that was the the you
- 16:44Speaker 3: know when you're training a dog, right and you slap
- 16:47Speaker 3: him on the nose because he peees on the carpet
- 16:50Speaker 3: or whatever.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I don't I've never had a dog, but.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Like that, you have to you have to train someone,
- 16:55Speaker 3: and this is his way of training the listeners.
- 16:57Speaker 1: So here is said segment.
- 17:00Speaker 7: Question we were asking earlier, and I want to continue
- 17:02Speaker 7: this question because it's really really I mean, it's just
- 17:05Speaker 7: crazy what it's done in the phone line, like.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I mean, just they won't stop ringing stop.
- 17:12Speaker 8: Yeah, al Pacino, is it not true that we have
- 17:17Speaker 8: not gotten a single call on this subject.
- 17:21Speaker 1: All right, I'm gonna try it again. I'm gonna try
- 17:22Speaker 1: and get it off the ground trying.
- 17:25Speaker 8: I'm gonna recycle the god that you're resetting the same.
- 17:28Speaker 8: This is what I'm doing right now. They're having Green
- 17:31Speaker 8: Day at Philadelphia. They're making everything out of coal, out
- 17:35Speaker 8: of corn. One hundred percent corn. Coal would be very
- 17:39Speaker 8: bad one hundred percent corn in Philadelphia.
- 17:43Speaker 9: That's what they're doing today for one o'clock Dolphins and Eagles.
- 17:46Speaker 7: And what I'd like for you to say is the Dolphins.
- 17:48Speaker 8: If this game was in Miami, it would be one
- 17:51Speaker 8: hundred percent what that they would be recycling with.
- 17:55Speaker 1: We've gotten memories. We did get that one call, and
- 17:58Speaker 1: then this is the rest of what we gotta take
- 18:00Speaker 1: another one more, John, You're on seven ninety John.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Hey, what's so good.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Is a Miami Dolphin?
- 18:26Speaker 10: F'm gonna bring it's gonna bring back after this, so
- 18:46Speaker 10: much going on there that I love.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I still don't understand what topic he was doing Corn
- 18:51Speaker 3: Away and Green Day, which I thought he was referencing
- 18:54Speaker 3: the band first, but no, it's like green a Green Initiative.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And every he didn't even make any sense.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Everything's made out of corn in Philadelphia, Like what the
- 19:05Speaker 3: Liberty bell is now made out of corn? Like I
- 19:08Speaker 3: didn't even understand it. And there's no calls. But when
- 19:12Speaker 3: I heard that, Sui, man, I thought that was the
- 19:15Speaker 3: funniest fucking thing.
- 19:16Speaker 1: It was just it never it never ended. It's so good.
- 19:20Speaker 4: You're floundering around for calls, you're getting no calls, you're
- 19:23Speaker 4: playing the dial tone.
- 19:24Speaker 1: You finally get a call.
- 19:26Speaker 4: The guy has the audacity to say hello after you
- 19:28Speaker 4: told him not to, and he just boo.
- 19:31Speaker 3: And that brings me to this next clip that I
- 19:33Speaker 3: wanted to play. So I may have had a propensity
- 19:37Speaker 3: to overproduce things, as you may have noticed with that
- 19:41Speaker 3: SUI there, which was originally intended to be a quick
- 19:43Speaker 3: hit SUI, thank you for the call, something like that,
- 19:48Speaker 3: and it turned out to be overproduced and wildly overdone.
- 19:52Speaker 3: And figure with football having started now pre season underway,
- 19:58Speaker 3: everybody's hype for football, and Dan used to maintain the
- 20:01Speaker 3: only way to get people real hype for football is
- 20:03Speaker 3: to play the sounds of the two linemen, you know,
- 20:06Speaker 3: crashing into each other pants gliding. He had said to
- 20:11Speaker 3: me for our fake pregame show, if you remember, can
- 20:15Speaker 3: you create just a little sound of, you know, football,
- 20:20Speaker 3: so we can get people excited about football. And I
- 20:24Speaker 3: got probably a little overboard, as I am known to do,
- 20:28Speaker 3: and I think I may have overproduced it, but it
- 20:31Speaker 3: delighted him. But here's a little segment to get everybody
- 20:35Speaker 3: excited for football in the.
- 20:37Speaker 7: Fake pregame show on Saturday. Enjoyed it. It was very good.
- 20:42Speaker 7: Chris Mortensen was on with US, Dennis Green was on
- 20:44Speaker 7: with US, Robert Smith was on with US. Robert Smith
- 20:48Speaker 7: hypothesized that thirty percent of the NFL at least is
- 20:52Speaker 7: using human growth hormone. But one of the things that
- 20:55Speaker 7: we stole from the pukey cliched WQAM handbook on how
- 21:00Speaker 7: to do a football pregame show is you have to
- 21:04Speaker 7: have the sound of giant men colliding and the air
- 21:08Speaker 7: leaving their body.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So you have to have that.
- 21:14Speaker 7: So occasionally we're going to just ask guests to make
- 21:16Speaker 7: a sound of the air leaving their body because it
- 21:22Speaker 7: hypes shop. It hypes shop for football. But then because
- 21:25Speaker 7: hawk overproduces everything and gets carried away with just about
- 21:28Speaker 7: everything he does, he decided to mix and macch and
- 21:32Speaker 7: DJ and throw in some collisions and he just generally
- 21:35Speaker 7: got carried away.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Hey, this is Dason Taylor Dolphins for the Miami Dolphins.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I thought everybody's Reagan Moha man just got picked up
- 22:07Speaker 2: on a Dolphins.
- 22:08Speaker 6: I am a jugging mole bit.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Jayson Taylor, Zach Thomas, Zach Thomas, Jayson Taylor, Thamas Taylor,
- 22:18Speaker 2: Tomas Taylor.
- 22:23Speaker 7: So it's a lot of people banging into each other,
- 22:25Speaker 7: big giant people, and we got to think of because
- 22:27Speaker 7: this really fired you up. On the way to the
- 22:29Speaker 7: on the way to the game on the way to
- 22:31Speaker 7: the game where the Dolphins would rip you off and
- 22:33Speaker 7: commit one of the great business atrocities anywhere in sports
- 22:37Speaker 7: by just ripping you off and charging you full prices
- 22:40Speaker 7: for a fake game. We got to thinking, well, would
- 22:44Speaker 7: that work during the week with our general assortment of
- 22:47Speaker 7: not only sports people, but just some of the weird
- 22:50Speaker 7: people that.
- 22:50Speaker 1: We have on, Like if that?
- 22:51Speaker 9: Because it got us fired up, the whole colliding and
- 22:54Speaker 9: Taylor and Thomas and who it got us all fired up.
- 22:57Speaker 9: We were ready to run out of the tunnel say
- 23:00Speaker 9: in the Miami Dolphins really crappy fourth grade fight song,
- 23:04Speaker 9: And we got to think, you, well, maybe we could
- 23:05Speaker 9: just put that stuff together with some of the other
- 23:08Speaker 9: guests we've had on and create a little bit of
- 23:12Speaker 9: hyperventilation and excitement about our show in general.
- 23:14Speaker 1: What do you think that would sound?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Like?
- 23:19Speaker 1: Ya yo.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Hi, It's andrega seed yo my gang. This is Bean
- 23:26Speaker 6: Geen Oakland. This is Ronnie Tylee, and Ronnie Tylee mean
- 23:38Speaker 6: Gene okerlanda go lega see okay, hey, this is Joe
- 23:50Speaker 6: back Joe buck Buck, Joe buck Buck. Ok Ronnie Tylee, Oh.
- 24:00Speaker 7: So stupid, it's mean Gene Okerland.
- 24:04Speaker 8: And doing in the middle of that so good.
- 24:08Speaker 1: That was when like he would tell me to do something.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I remember like for the fake pregame show, He's like,
- 24:12Speaker 3: make a make a little sound, you know with the
- 24:14Speaker 3: thing and then night so I would do the and
- 24:16Speaker 3: I'm like, I could dress this up a little bit,
- 24:18Speaker 3: like he's just throwing a Jason Taylor drop since it's
- 24:20Speaker 3: a Dolphins pregame show.
- 24:21Speaker 1: And then I'm like, well, this just sits there what.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I I And then by you know, all of a sudden,
- 24:27Speaker 3: it's like right, and it's like four hours later and
- 24:30Speaker 3: it's and.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Then you're recycling Jason Taylor again, familiar with your work.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Some of my best memories.
- 24:39Speaker 3: If there's something you want to hear on this podcast,
- 24:41Speaker 3: d m me on Instagram, Radio Mark Hawkman on Instagram.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Taylor yawned during that open. I mean he's so bored
- 24:48Speaker 1: by this podcast. Taylor wants to it. We got to
- 24:51Speaker 1: get Ricardo on this podcast. Taylor wants to get back. Yes, yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 1: what would it be your deal podcast to work? Taylor?
- 25:01Speaker 3: If you can mix and match from any shows anywhere,
- 25:04Speaker 3: what would be your ideal podcast?
- 25:06Speaker 1: Probably just the morning show on WFAN. Yeah, that report
- 25:10Speaker 1: of my take.
- 25:12Speaker 3: All right, before we get out of here, Stutts has
- 25:15Speaker 3: to give you nicknames of three athletes because that's what
- 25:18Speaker 3: he is good at.
- 25:20Speaker 1: And I'll make it all Dolphins.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Oh wow, really okay, all right, Gene Morris Mercury very good.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Mark Duper, super duper. There you go.
- 25:36Speaker 3: And Tyreek Hill.
- 25:40Speaker 1: The Cheetah. All right, yes, there we go. We gotta
- 25:44Speaker 1: get out of here.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And also, inexplicably, if you heard it in the football montage,
- 25:49Speaker 3: there's Melon Gibson yelling give me back my son.
- 25:55Speaker 1: With Stu Gotts and Hawkman, Got up go, You're got
- 26:13Speaker 1: up go?
- 26:14Speaker 2: Hey.
- 26:14Speaker 1: This is Jason Taylor for the Miami Dolphins.
- 26:19Speaker 2: This is Zach Thomas for the Miami Dolphins.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Got up go.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Everybody is raging moleir man, Uh, it's got picked up
- 26:29Speaker 2: at a Dolphins.
- 26:30Speaker 7: I am the jugging my bit.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Jason Taylor, Dak Thomas Ragana, Dak Thomas, Jason Taylor, Thomas Taylor,
- 26:39Speaker 2: Thomas Taylor
