- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to The Favorites, your go to NFL betting show.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We are part of the Action Network family of podcasts.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm your host, Brandon Kravitz. Back at it with the
- 0:18Speaker 1: First Lady, Kendra Middleton on today's episode. The divisional previews continue.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Only three lefts and we're past the midway point of August,
- 0:28Speaker 1: so we are almost there, folks, NFC East today with
- 0:32Speaker 1: Connor Hughes, Big Dog Guy, Kendra and I'm sure that
- 0:35Speaker 1: you will have a lot to say about that.
- 0:37Speaker 2: We know that I love a good waffer.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It does feel like Jackson, your Jackson has become a
- 0:44Speaker 1: bigger star on the show ever since your news setup
- 0:47Speaker 1: where you can kind of see everything that's happening behind you.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he's certainly, he's certainly a piece of work. I
- 0:55Speaker 3: think I've mentioned on this show before that I in
- 0:58Speaker 3: the last couple of months have gotten really into the
- 1:00Speaker 3: vibration plate.
- 1:01Speaker 2: He's also really into the vibration plate.
- 1:05Speaker 1: What is the vibration plate? Is that like a workout thing.
- 1:08Speaker 3: It's sort of you can do workouts on it, but
- 1:10Speaker 3: it literally is just like a plate that vibrates. It's
- 1:12Speaker 3: supposed to help with recovery and lymphatic drainage and stuff.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm kind of addicted to it, even if it's placebo.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I really kind of love it. So I'll do that
- 1:19Speaker 3: with my red light panel in the morning, and he
- 1:21Speaker 3: does red light therapy with me and loves the shake plate. Also,
- 1:25Speaker 3: my shrimp and my spider are doing red light therapy,
- 1:27Speaker 3: which was certainly something to explain to a pet sitter
- 1:30Speaker 3: when I was leaving for weeks at a time.
- 1:32Speaker 1: My goodness, she continues to find ways to Outcrunchy herself
- 1:37Speaker 1: on every single episode. My dog's getting old, I think
- 1:40Speaker 1: I started being Is that the answer? He started barking
- 1:44Speaker 1: at random things. Either he's getting old or my house
- 1:47Speaker 1: is haunted. I'm not really sure with red light therapy.
- 1:51Speaker 1: A quick note before we get into the meat of
- 1:53Speaker 1: the show. Talking NFC East, Vitavea signs a new deal
- 1:56Speaker 1: thirty million dollars, giving him one extra year on his deal,
- 1:59Speaker 1: some new money for this year. Essentially it's a pay
- 2:02Speaker 1: raise just to get him back out onto the field.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Speaking of contracts, this Christian Gonzales thing, it's getting a
- 2:11Speaker 3: little crazy. Like Witherspoon put the outline out there, and
- 2:16Speaker 3: that really kind of in my opinion took the pressure
- 2:18Speaker 3: off of the Patriots put it on Christian Gonzalez because
- 2:21Speaker 3: the framework is there. If you want one or two
- 2:22Speaker 3: million extra dollars, fine, You're basically interchangeable players. The only
- 2:26Speaker 3: I think a better option with Christian Gonzalez is his side,
- 2:31Speaker 3: his size over Witherspoon.
- 2:32Speaker 2: But it's making it.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Seem like Christian Gonzalez might be a little bit of
- 2:37Speaker 3: a diva. Allegedly he might even be asking for, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 3: forty million dollars a year, maybe a percentage of the
- 2:42Speaker 3: salary cap in coming years. I think the longer this takes,
- 2:45Speaker 3: the worse it makes Christian Gonzales look.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Christian. You're very good at what you do. But the
- 2:51Speaker 1: dude over in Seattle just won a Super Bowl. So
- 2:54Speaker 1: to just get on his level, maybe get a penny
- 2:56Speaker 1: more agent. Move the hell on. You gotta be happy.
- 3:02Speaker 1: By the way, if you have a Bucks NFC South
- 3:04Speaker 1: ticket plus one seventy is around the range it's been
- 3:07Speaker 1: sitting at throughout the offseason. I'm just I'm not I mean,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm not advising you bet it. I think that's a
- 3:12Speaker 1: terrible bet. But if you have it already and Vidave
- 3:14Speaker 1: is on the field, it's at least a positive that way.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Rookie Ruben Bain, who is a workout warrior by the way,
- 3:21Speaker 1: in practice, people love him. Down in the Great State
- 3:23Speaker 1: of Florida, players are dropping like flies. Kendra Jordan Tyson
- 3:27Speaker 1: out for two months with a hamstring, so we're not
- 3:29Speaker 1: gonna see him at the start of the season. Alvin
- 3:32Speaker 1: Kamara mcl sprain, he's out for a month. So Travis Ashan,
- 3:39Speaker 1: do you I guess you have to say that, now.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Do you think that injuries truly and I'm sure that
- 3:44Speaker 3: Evan has statistics on this, but do you think that
- 3:46Speaker 3: they truly are more plentiful each and every season or
- 3:51Speaker 3: is it just the current flavor of the week.
- 3:53Speaker 2: That's what it feels like.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I don't think enough people have done proper research on this,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and we're gonna have We're gonna have doctor chow on
- 4:00Speaker 1: throughout the course of the season, and we're probably gonna
- 4:02Speaker 1: ask him that every other week and hopefully he gives
- 4:05Speaker 1: us some numbers on that. I do think that the
- 4:08Speaker 1: injuries are up. I think injuries are up slightly and
- 4:12Speaker 1: awareness is up like three hundred percent, And so with
- 4:16Speaker 1: the combination of those two things, it feels like it's
- 4:19Speaker 1: just it's worse than ever. And maybe that's the case,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but I think we overrate how bad it is because
- 4:24Speaker 1: of the awareness we know. Someone I know about Kyle
- 4:26Speaker 1: Mnung Guy's knee injury. I wouldn't have known that ten
- 4:29Speaker 1: years ago.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Actually, I feel like I just had a brain blast
- 4:32Speaker 3: from Jimmy neutron.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I feel like I.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Remember doctor Chow saying it wasn't that there. I think that,
- 4:41Speaker 3: if I'm not mistaken, he said that there are more
- 4:43Speaker 3: injuries because humans are getting bigger, faster, and stronger, but
- 4:46Speaker 3: there's only a certain capacity the human body can handle.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Did I just have a brain blaster? Am I making
- 4:50Speaker 2: it up?
- 4:51Speaker 1: No, that's that's completely accurate. I have a good friend
- 4:54Speaker 1: of mine as a personal trainer, and he said that
- 4:56Speaker 1: exact statement to me years ago, that you're tendons are
- 5:01Speaker 1: really not all that different from when we were cave people.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And yet we look at the players in the NFL
- 5:07Speaker 1: and compare them to just players in the league fifteen
- 5:09Speaker 1: years ago. They look like different humans. And now you're
- 5:13Speaker 1: putting that you're putting added torque and muscle onto tendons
- 5:18Speaker 1: that haven't gotten any stronger since we were hunting the triceratops.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Don't quote me on the timeline of that with human history,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I don't think that we weren't on the No, we
- 5:28Speaker 1: weren't on the earth together. That's besides the point. The
- 5:31Speaker 1: Chargers already dealing with offensive line injuries. Great transition, Jayden
- 5:36Speaker 1: Higgins wide receiver, year two for Houston. Done for the
- 5:39Speaker 1: year with an ACL bubble wrap. These people already throw them.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Are your Jags doing okay? I saw they've been all.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Over the shut up and get to our guest.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Zip it NFC East previews on the way in a moment,
- 5:53Speaker 1: cue the cool transition. Time to put the NFC East
- 5:56Speaker 1: under a microscope with our guest, Connor Hughes, NFL reporter
- 6:00Speaker 1: or s n Y TV. Big fan of his dog.
- 6:03Speaker 1: From what I have come to learn. What kind of
- 6:05Speaker 1: dog are we talking here? Connor?
- 6:07Speaker 4: Beagle Terrier? She is?
- 6:08Speaker 5: I will say that likes as we've gotten older on
- 6:10Speaker 5: an age and having two kids now, the dog is
- 6:13Speaker 5: it's the the fanness is coming down the dog.
- 6:15Speaker 4: The dog is. Uh. We love her to death. We
- 6:18Speaker 4: love Lucy to death.
- 6:19Speaker 5: But who the two kids plus a dog is a trio?
- 6:22Speaker 4: I don't think I was ready for.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, see, Kendrick, you're not ready for that. The dog
- 6:26Speaker 1: that your dog is your number one, But when you
- 6:29Speaker 1: start having kids, it's just impossible to stay where they're
- 6:32Speaker 1: at in the household power rankings.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I'll stick with the dog and all of my other
- 6:37Speaker 3: weird pets over the kids.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Boys.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Connor, We've been doing these vibe checks for every division
- 6:44Speaker 1: that we've been previewing in the NFL. Where are we
- 6:47Speaker 1: on the NFC East. I mean, obviously you would come
- 6:50Speaker 1: in a little bit biased here, but in terms of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the if we were to take a wider view judging
- 6:56Speaker 1: this division versus the others in the NFL from an
- 6:59Speaker 1: intrigue level, where do you have the nfcas I.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Think it's up there. I mean, you've got the Philadelphia
- 7:05Speaker 5: Eagles right now that are are I think you look
- 7:08Speaker 5: at a talent perspective and they are one of the
- 7:11Speaker 5: two three, four, and I don't I think four is
- 7:14Speaker 5: probably pushing it. Most talented teams in the NFL. Even
- 7:17Speaker 5: after they let go a J. Brownman, that defense is
- 7:19Speaker 5: going to be elite with Vic Fangio, you have Jalen Hurts,
- 7:22Speaker 5: you still have saquon the offensive line, is still really
- 7:24Speaker 5: really good as long as Lane Johnson's healthy. Of DeVonta Smith,
- 7:27Speaker 5: you added Mkayelomon, Like there's so much there to like
- 7:30Speaker 5: about that team, and it feels like everything kind of
- 7:33Speaker 5: now rests on the shoulders of Jalen Hurts. And even
- 7:36Speaker 5: though he's already been to two Super Bowls and even
- 7:38Speaker 5: though he's already won one and he's been a Super
- 7:39Speaker 5: Bowl MVP, it's like there's still so much pressure, which
- 7:41Speaker 5: probably just comes from being in a Philly market, of
- 7:43Speaker 5: like can they do it? But from a talent perspective,
- 7:46Speaker 5: it really is they're going to go as far as
- 7:48Speaker 5: the quarterback takes him. I mean, if they if Jalen
- 7:49Speaker 5: has a really really good year, there's no reason that
- 7:51Speaker 5: team shouldn't be in the NFC Championship. And then I
- 7:53Speaker 5: think I'm probably more high on the Dallas Cowboys than
- 7:56Speaker 5: a lot of people because I think that offense is
- 7:58Speaker 5: going to be elite and I think that defense is
- 8:00Speaker 5: going to be better. And when you pair that offense
- 8:02Speaker 5: that's probably go an average twenty seven.
- 8:03Speaker 4: To twenty eight points per game.
- 8:05Speaker 5: All you need is the defense is going to let
- 8:06Speaker 5: up twenty four you're probably going to be in the playoffs,
- 8:08Speaker 5: So that's going to be a really fascinating battle to
- 8:10Speaker 5: look and battle watch there. And then you have the
- 8:13Speaker 5: two teams that come after them, with the Commanders, which
- 8:16Speaker 5: what was it two years ago, They're in the NFC
- 8:17Speaker 5: Championship game. Last year, very very bad. Dan Quinn's on
- 8:21Speaker 5: the hot seat. Did they do enough around Jayden Daniels.
- 8:23Speaker 5: There's all the Jayden Daniels LSU controversy now around so
- 8:27Speaker 5: their team, and then you have the Giants, and I
- 8:29Speaker 5: think if you're looking at the pecking order, it probably
- 8:31Speaker 5: goes in that linear numbers that I just mentioned with
- 8:38Speaker 5: the Giants then coming in the Seller. I mean, they
- 8:40Speaker 5: like where they are with John Harbaugh. Internally, they're really
- 8:44Speaker 5: really high on themselves right now. They like Jackson Dart
- 8:46Speaker 5: a lot, but I still see far more deficiencies on
- 8:50Speaker 5: that roster and things that still need to be fixed
- 8:53Speaker 5: before you can put them in the class of the
- 8:55Speaker 5: Cowboys or you can put them in the class of
- 8:57Speaker 5: the Eagles.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We're going to go team by team here and preview
- 9:01Speaker 1: each team inside of the NFC East. The Eagles did
- 9:03Speaker 1: something last year that hadn't been done since two thousand
- 9:07Speaker 1: and four and let's win the NFC East for consecutive season.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Before we go team by team here, this division has
- 9:13Speaker 1: been a revolving door of champions. Simply put, Will we
- 9:18Speaker 1: have a new champion in the NFC East this year?
- 9:23Speaker 4: I think so. I think the Cowboys are gonna win
- 9:25Speaker 4: it this year. I do. I mean, like I said,
- 9:27Speaker 4: I just I love that Eagles roster. I do.
- 9:30Speaker 5: And my wife's family's off from Philly, so I'm reminded
- 9:33Speaker 5: of the Eagles quite often anytime I'm out of family dinner.
- 9:36Speaker 5: And I still look at the Cowboys, though, and see
- 9:40Speaker 5: that as a team that's just hungry.
- 9:41Speaker 4: I honestly like the coaching staff.
- 9:43Speaker 5: A lot too. I really really like Dak Prescott. I
- 9:45Speaker 5: don't know if you can do it in the playoffs,
- 9:46Speaker 5: but we can do it in the regular season. And
- 9:48Speaker 5: I think this is the year where I think Dallas
- 9:49Speaker 5: gets it done.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Are you expecting any big changes with the Eagles and
- 9:56Speaker 3: Sean Mannion now kind of being the guy on offense
- 9:59Speaker 3: over there.
- 10:00Speaker 4: So it's so tough.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Like I remember talking when I want to say, this
- 10:05Speaker 5: was like two years ago ish, maybe a year ago
- 10:08Speaker 5: with the with the Eagles, and it was when they
- 10:12Speaker 5: were kind of in the middle of their their spiral down.
- 10:15Speaker 5: And I think it was the year before they won
- 10:17Speaker 5: the Super Bowl, when you know, they started red hot
- 10:19Speaker 5: and everything fell apart and everyone and their uncle was
- 10:22Speaker 5: screaming and yelling about the Eagles need to throw over
- 10:24Speaker 5: the middle of the Eagles need to throw over the middle.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Eagles need to throw over the middle.
- 10:27Speaker 5: And I remember talking to a head coach and he
- 10:29Speaker 5: was like, Connor, do you know how many offensive guys
- 10:31Speaker 5: are on that staff, like between the offensive coaches, the
- 10:35Speaker 5: positional coaches, the assistants, the quality controls guests, and then
- 10:38Speaker 5: you can loop in all the pro personnel people in
- 10:40Speaker 5: the scouty. He goes, don't you think that somebody in
- 10:43Speaker 5: that building might have thought, hey, let's target the middle
- 10:46Speaker 5: of the field, and maybe Jalen just can't like think
- 10:48Speaker 5: about that for a minute. And then you see the
- 10:50Speaker 5: offense last year and he's still not really doing it.
- 10:52Speaker 5: You saw the interception the Eagles tweeted the other day
- 10:55Speaker 5: where it's the pass over the middle that just looks
- 10:57Speaker 5: ugly that Quinion Mitchell picks off. Like as good as
- 10:59Speaker 5: Hurts is as a leader, as a runner, he can
- 11:01Speaker 5: throw the deep ball absolutely there are limitations to him.
- 11:05Speaker 5: There are physical limitations that can hold an offense back.
- 11:08Speaker 5: So I think, yeah, many and might go into this
- 11:10Speaker 5: with an idea of I want to do this, this, this, this,
- 11:12Speaker 5: but ultimately you have to build a scheme around your
- 11:14Speaker 5: players and what your players do well. And if the
- 11:16Speaker 5: Eagles can do that, and they can get back to
- 11:19Speaker 5: the offensive line that's blowing people off the ball and
- 11:21Speaker 5: Saque's running for a buck twenty a game, and that's
- 11:24Speaker 5: going to ease things up for Jalen to then drop
- 11:26Speaker 5: back with the play action kind of see othered boxes,
- 11:29Speaker 5: so it's opened up in the secondary. I think that's
- 11:31Speaker 5: when you can have an offense thrive like it did
- 11:33Speaker 5: a couple of years ago, as opposed to what we
- 11:35Speaker 5: saw last season.
- 11:37Speaker 3: You mentioned loss of a j Brown off the top.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I want to talk about that a little bit more.
- 11:41Speaker 3: The Patriots and the Eagles are obviously having joint practices.
- 11:44Speaker 3: The rivalry that's going to be Boston and Philly between
- 11:46Speaker 3: this between you know, Jalen Brown and AJ Brown making
- 11:50Speaker 3: a switch is going to be really entertaining this year.
- 11:52Speaker 3: But yesterday he told the Philadelphia media that he wanted
- 11:56Speaker 3: to stop answering questions that would lead to negative and
- 12:00Speaker 3: about Jalen Hurts, do you expect this to be a
- 12:03Speaker 3: huge loss for that offense or do you think it's an.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Addition by subtraction situation.
- 12:09Speaker 5: It's it's a very tough question to answer right now.
- 12:13Speaker 5: And what I mean by that is what AJ Brown
- 12:17Speaker 5: is taking the field in twenty twenty six. And so
- 12:20Speaker 5: you see this often with players that are physical specimens
- 12:25Speaker 5: and physical freaks like AJ is. I mean, he's not
- 12:28Speaker 5: the best route runner in the NFL. What makes him
- 12:30Speaker 5: so superb is there are very few people walking planet
- 12:33Speaker 5: Earth who are that big, that tall, that fast like
- 12:36Speaker 5: there just aren't that many people. The problem with players
- 12:40Speaker 5: like that is that when they get older, the fall
- 12:42Speaker 5: off the cliff cliff is usually very steep and it
- 12:46Speaker 5: approaches very quick. And once they fall off and they
- 12:49Speaker 5: don't have that same burst off the line, that same speed,
- 12:51Speaker 5: they're not as strong, they're not the same player.
- 12:55Speaker 4: If you're telling me.
- 12:56Speaker 5: That the AJ they saw last year was a bad year,
- 12:58Speaker 5: but say two years ago and three years go, if
- 13:00Speaker 5: that's the AJ that now is revitalized and he's still
- 13:03Speaker 5: got some more thread on the on the tires, and
- 13:05Speaker 5: that's the guy that's in New England. Yeah, the Eagles
- 13:08Speaker 5: are going to miss that because no rookie is going
- 13:11Speaker 5: to fill that for it. I think DeVonta Spent's a
- 13:12Speaker 5: hell of a receiver. But again, you had Smith end Brown,
- 13:15Speaker 5: So where's the end in this equation? And I just
- 13:18Speaker 5: don't think again like that's where I would say, like, yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 5: you're really going to miss him. The flip side of that, though,
- 13:24Speaker 5: is say Aj isn't the Aj of old, Say last
- 13:28Speaker 5: year was a sign that he was starting to fall back,
- 13:30Speaker 5: and now the Eagles, and honestly, I would probably bank
- 13:33Speaker 5: on this, knowing how things always seem to go Howie
- 13:35Speaker 5: Roseman's favor, and they have all the metrics and all
- 13:37Speaker 5: the numbers. If they're like, hey, this guy's about to
- 13:41Speaker 5: drop off, why don't we sell him earlier rather than later,
- 13:45Speaker 5: then I think you can look at it and say like, look,
- 13:47Speaker 5: say AJ finishes this season with seven hundred and fifty
- 13:49Speaker 5: eight hundred yards and three or four touchdowns, Like an.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Eagle is really going to miss that.
- 13:52Speaker 5: No, But if you're telling me AJ is going to
- 13:54Speaker 5: go out and catch fourteen fifteen hundred yards and ninety
- 13:57Speaker 5: to one hundred balls, Yeah, they're going to miss that
- 13:58Speaker 5: kind of production. So it really depends on what kind
- 14:00Speaker 5: of a player Aj is in twenty twenty six and
- 14:03Speaker 5: coming off last year. I don't know if you can
- 14:05Speaker 5: say that with any certainty at the moment.
- 14:07Speaker 1: It also feels like they're trying to replace AJ Brown
- 14:10Speaker 1: with more variety in the offense because it's been so
- 14:13Speaker 1: everything's been so funneled to control the game with Saquon
- 14:18Speaker 1: Barkley and some of the legs of Jalen Hurts, and
- 14:21Speaker 1: then it's AJ Brown, DeVante Smith and Dallas Goddard. Nobody
- 14:25Speaker 1: else touches the football. It feels like with Sean Mannion,
- 14:28Speaker 1: they want to be a little bit more creative. Mikay Lemon, though,
- 14:30Speaker 1: is having a hard time getting on the field. They
- 14:32Speaker 1: spent a first round pick on this guy if they're
- 14:35Speaker 1: depending on DeVante Smith and a thin wide receiver corps
- 14:39Speaker 1: Dontavian Wicks, who I've I've tried to buy in fantasy
- 14:43Speaker 1: for the last couple of years and I just never
- 14:45Speaker 1: get what I want out of that. But it feels
- 14:47Speaker 1: like they're asking a lot of players that aren't quite
- 14:50Speaker 1: as talented. The other thing that I wanted to mention
- 14:52Speaker 1: connor Is Kendram mentioned the offensive system. Do we realize
- 14:57Speaker 1: that Jalen Hurts now entering his eleventh season, If you
- 15:01Speaker 1: go back to college, this will be his tenth offensive
- 15:04Speaker 1: play caller in the last eleven seasons. I know that
- 15:07Speaker 1: this guy gets a lot of flak even though he's
- 15:09Speaker 1: had massive success at every level. But do you think
- 15:12Speaker 1: that that is some of what's been holding him back
- 15:16Speaker 1: from delivering on consistency, that he's had to learn a
- 15:20Speaker 1: new systemstem pretty much every year going back to Alabama.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I don't.
- 15:25Speaker 5: I there can be some Yeah, there's absolutely some some
- 15:29Speaker 5: merit to that, and that's that's an argument you can
- 15:31Speaker 5: make on his behalf. But I when I watch Jaleen,
- 15:34Speaker 5: I think it's almost that the NFL is a game
- 15:37Speaker 5: of chess, and it's once just shows somebody something they're
- 15:40Speaker 5: going to defend it, and it's it's always like read
- 15:42Speaker 5: and react.
- 15:43Speaker 4: You know.
- 15:43Speaker 5: It's why the remember when when Kaepernick and RG three
- 15:46Speaker 5: lit the world on fire with the with the RPOs
- 15:48Speaker 5: and the read options, and all of a sudden, it
- 15:50Speaker 5: was like, oh my god, no one in the world
- 15:51Speaker 5: can stop this. Those guys are scoring god knows how
- 15:53Speaker 5: many touchdowns averaging thirty a game, and then all of
- 15:56Speaker 5: a sudden, one defense does something that kind of works,
- 15:58Speaker 5: and another defensive coordinator season that and builds on top
- 16:00Speaker 5: and builds on top and builds on top of it,
- 16:02Speaker 5: and suddenly you don't see those schemes and those offenses
- 16:05Speaker 5: run nearly as much as it looked like they were
- 16:07Speaker 5: going to run when Cap and RG three were tearing
- 16:09Speaker 5: up the league. However, many years ago, that was I
- 16:11Speaker 5: think Hurts is kind of like that, like he burst
- 16:13Speaker 5: onto the scene. He had really well, actually I shouldn't
- 16:15Speaker 5: say that. It took him three years before he really
- 16:17Speaker 5: got going. But after that breakout year that he had
- 16:20Speaker 5: and then he had a really good season, I think
- 16:21Speaker 5: teams started getting some film on what he does well,
- 16:24Speaker 5: what he doesn't, and what defensive coordinators will do if
- 16:26Speaker 5: they're good.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Is they and they have the talent to do it.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Is they funnel players into doing what they're uncomfortable with,
- 16:32Speaker 5: and they funnel players and doing things that they're.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Not particularly good at.
- 16:35Speaker 5: And when they can do that, that's when all of
- 16:37Speaker 5: a sudden you start to see flaws and then it
- 16:39Speaker 5: flips back to the offense, like how can you evolve?
- 16:41Speaker 5: How can you now find a new aspect of your
- 16:43Speaker 5: game to get better at to still have success? And
- 16:46Speaker 5: I just I think it's more that than it is
- 16:51Speaker 5: the consistently changing offenses, because again, like Jalen's at the
- 16:55Speaker 5: point where they're going to do what Jalen does well,
- 16:57Speaker 5: and with Jalen wants, he's established enough where he's going
- 16:59Speaker 5: to do that. It's not like somebody going to come
- 17:00Speaker 5: in and try to reinvent the wheel. So I would
- 17:02Speaker 5: probably put it more in that bucket than anything else.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I've got to be able to run the football. Though,
- 17:06Speaker 1: Lane Johnson says that Saquon Barkley is going to return
- 17:09Speaker 1: to his twenty twenty four form. That was something he
- 17:12Speaker 1: had mentioned to the media recently. Is that realistic or
- 17:16Speaker 1: has that ship sailed not only for him but the
- 17:18Speaker 1: offensive line. It's still really good, but is it as
- 17:21Speaker 1: good as it was when Jason Kelce was on the team.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Probably not. He went from two thousand yards two years
- 17:26Speaker 1: ago to eleven hundred yards rushing with the same games played.
- 17:30Speaker 1: So is that version of the Eagles running attack with Barkley?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Is that gaunt? Or do you think they can rediscover that?
- 17:38Speaker 4: Well?
- 17:38Speaker 5: I'm fascinating now because they got a new offensive line
- 17:40Speaker 5: coach as well, which is you know, again you're moving
- 17:44Speaker 5: on from one of the best in the NFL to
- 17:45Speaker 5: kind of do something different. So I still think Saquon
- 17:49Speaker 5: Saquon now? Is he the Saquon he was three years ago?
- 17:51Speaker 5: The same that burst that acceleration, don't I don't know,
- 17:54Speaker 5: you know, running backs were just talking about aj running
- 17:56Speaker 5: backs are very similar where there's usually a cliff of
- 17:58Speaker 5: twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine years old, and when
- 18:00Speaker 5: they go off, it doesn't you usually climb back up
- 18:02Speaker 5: the cliff. It's just a gradual and steep decline. I
- 18:06Speaker 5: would still say, though, you give Saquon daylight and he's.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Gonna make you pay. That's just the fact.
- 18:11Speaker 5: And last year he didn't have that daylight. And that
- 18:14Speaker 5: Eagles team was funky.
- 18:15Speaker 4: A year ago. I mean they really were.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Like I remember talking to a defensive coordinator that was
- 18:20Speaker 5: game planning for them late in the season and late
- 18:23Speaker 5: in the season I'll put it at and I remember
- 18:25Speaker 5: saying to him, like just kind of talking to him
- 18:27Speaker 5: on the phone, like dude, like what's wrong with the Eagles?
- 18:29Speaker 5: Like like I look at the roster and I feel
- 18:31Speaker 5: like they should be blowing everybody out. And if you
- 18:33Speaker 5: look at their games that even they won last year,
- 18:35Speaker 5: a lot of them were one score games.
- 18:36Speaker 4: And he told me, he goes, it's a lion playing.
- 18:40Speaker 5: With its food, and it's basically they know they're more talented.
- 18:43Speaker 5: They're batting around their food for a while, and then
- 18:46Speaker 5: they're like, oh crap, we're about to lose this game,
- 18:48Speaker 5: and then they somehow pull it out, and he goes,
- 18:50Speaker 5: that can work in the regular season. That doesn't usually
- 18:53Speaker 5: work when the game start really mattering and in the playoffs,
- 18:55Speaker 5: and that's why you saw them loose to the Cowboys.
- 18:57Speaker 5: That's why you saw him loose to the forty nine ers.
- 18:59Speaker 5: As they played with their food, they bad around, they
- 19:00Speaker 5: were never able to turn it on. And maybe that
- 19:02Speaker 5: was a Super Bowl hangover, which absolutely could be the case.
- 19:04Speaker 5: But I think similar to Saquon, similar to everybody, it's
- 19:08Speaker 5: like they just have to return to format. I'm not
- 19:10Speaker 5: as worried about Barkley as other aspects of that. Like
- 19:14Speaker 5: I think Saquan, as long as you open up stuff
- 19:16Speaker 5: for him, he's gonna he's gonna be fun.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Before we move on, you said you expect the Eagles
- 19:20Speaker 3: to be a top of this division.
- 19:21Speaker 2: The schedule kind of scares me a little bit. But
- 19:23Speaker 2: what sets them apart for you.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Talent at the end of the day, like talent.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Talent rules in the NFL, and very rarely do you
- 19:31Speaker 5: have as much talent as Howie Rosman is compiled on
- 19:33Speaker 5: that side of the ball, on both sides of the ball.
- 19:35Speaker 4: And lose, you know what I mean?
- 19:37Speaker 5: Like, I think the Eagles can have a bad year
- 19:39Speaker 5: and still find themselves winning ten or eleven games, you
- 19:40Speaker 5: know what I mean, And then a good year, you're
- 19:42Speaker 5: talking about fourteen to fifteen wins, Like that's what they
- 19:44Speaker 5: can do if Jalen returns to the form that he
- 19:47Speaker 5: wasn't at Super Bowl against the Chiefs.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Before we move on, Kendra, best way to bet the
- 19:52Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles? What would you? What would you say?
- 19:56Speaker 2: They're under?
- 19:56Speaker 3: I just think their schedules too tough and the divisions
- 19:58Speaker 3: catching up quick.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Under ten and a half very much juiced minus one
- 20:03Speaker 1: forty if you want to take the under on that,
- 20:05Speaker 1: but it's going to be really tough for them to
- 20:06Speaker 1: surpass that. I'll take Lane Johnson's word. Saquon Barkley over
- 20:11Speaker 1: ten ninety nine and a half in terms of his
- 20:13Speaker 1: rushing yards. He hit the over on that last year
- 20:16Speaker 1: and he wasn't even all that good. So let's move
- 20:18Speaker 1: on to the New York Giants, a team that you
- 20:21Speaker 1: know well and good. Even though they won four games
- 20:24Speaker 1: and they fired their coach, Brian Daboll, it kind of
- 20:27Speaker 1: felt like the Giants found something last year. I think
- 20:29Speaker 1: it was early glimpses of a young corps maybe is
- 20:32Speaker 1: why there's some optimism there. Obviously, the addition of John
- 20:36Speaker 1: Harball helps a lot, but he's not going to take
- 20:38Speaker 1: that job if there's not something there that he sees
- 20:41Speaker 1: potential in Jackson Dart flash promise as a rookie fifteen touchdowns,
- 20:45Speaker 1: ran for nine. The Patriots went from four wins to fourteen.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Do the Giants have that sort of turnaround in them?
- 20:53Speaker 1: A lot of people out there are predicting that.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I would say no. I would be very surprised.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Here's the thing is that I think Jackson Dart is
- 21:04Speaker 5: a quarterback. And this was my opinion, and I surveyed
- 21:08Speaker 5: this to all the many many people that I know
- 21:10Speaker 5: around the league, whether that's GMS, executive coaches, you know,
- 21:14Speaker 5: that kind of stuff like it, especially guys on the
- 21:16Speaker 5: defensive side of the ball, and several of them who
- 21:17Speaker 5: gained planned for Jackson last year about that.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Like how good can Jackson be?
- 21:21Speaker 5: And the resounding response that I got regarding Dart was that,
- 21:27Speaker 5: coming off of year one, he's a quarterback that can
- 21:30Speaker 5: win when everything around him is pretty good. So you
- 21:33Speaker 5: give him the line, you give them the receivers, you
- 21:35Speaker 5: give him the running back.
- 21:36Speaker 4: He's gonna win football games.
- 21:37Speaker 5: You take Jackson Dart, you put them on the Philadelphi Eagles,
- 21:39Speaker 5: it was probably gonna win twelve thirteen games. What they
- 21:41Speaker 5: don't know and what nobody knows yet and what we're
- 21:43Speaker 5: gonna find out this season is is Dart the guy
- 21:46Speaker 5: who can take himself from say a top twenty quarterback
- 21:49Speaker 5: to a top fifteen quarterback and be one of those
- 21:51Speaker 5: dudes that can elevate the play of everybody around him.
- 21:53Speaker 5: And right now, I think I still lean towards Dart
- 21:57Speaker 5: being a guy that needs a system and a scheme
- 21:59Speaker 5: to signed around his skill set.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Guys, because he's not, at least from what I've seen.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Maybe he can surprise me this year and make me
- 22:05Speaker 5: look like a fool saying this, But like he's been
- 22:08Speaker 5: a quarterback and looks like a quarterback that it's not.
- 22:11Speaker 4: It's not gimmicky. I wouldn't say gimmicky is the right word.
- 22:14Speaker 4: But he's the quarterback that kind of runs.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Those RPOs, that read options, plays out of the shotgun,
- 22:19Speaker 5: uses his legs, lowers his shoulder like, plays that improvisational
- 22:22Speaker 5: backyard style football. That's what he does, and that's what
- 22:25Speaker 5: he does so well. I don't think he's a traditional
- 22:28Speaker 5: drop back quarterback. In fact, I talked to one defensive
- 22:30Speaker 5: coordinator who game planned for the Giants last year and
- 22:33Speaker 5: they had a lot of success against Dart, and I
- 22:35Speaker 5: remember asking like, hey, what was your like what did
- 22:37Speaker 5: you do to slow him down? And he goes Connord
- 22:40Speaker 5: just made him play quarterback like that was our point.
- 22:42Speaker 5: We make quote made him play quarterback unquote, that's what
- 22:44Speaker 5: we did. And I was like, okay, And now, like
- 22:47Speaker 5: watching him in camp this year, what Brian Dable did
- 22:50Speaker 5: was he built an offense that was similar to Ole Miss,
- 22:52Speaker 5: similar we did in the high school like cond of
- 22:53Speaker 5: that college y offense, and Dart looked at times really
- 22:57Speaker 5: good last season. He got, you know, look bad also
- 22:59Speaker 5: at times that game against the Vikings, but when he
- 23:01Speaker 5: had his good moments, it was using that Brian Dable offense.
- 23:04Speaker 5: This year with Matt Naggy, who's the Giants offensive coordinator, Guys,
- 23:07Speaker 5: they're running a lot of three five seven step drops.
- 23:09Speaker 5: He's under center. It's almost like they're trying to run
- 23:12Speaker 5: Andy Reid's scheme with Jackson Dart, and I don't necessarily
- 23:15Speaker 5: know if that's the best fit for Jackson. In this
- 23:18Speaker 5: scheme that Matt Naggie runs. From what I've heard, it's
- 23:20Speaker 5: not exactly quarterback friendly. I mean, it is very complex.
- 23:23Speaker 5: It relies on making the immediate read, seeing things before
- 23:27Speaker 5: they happen, throwing with anticipation, And I don't know if
- 23:29Speaker 5: Dart is there yet. I think he might be able
- 23:32Speaker 5: to get there, but I don't know if he's there
- 23:33Speaker 5: yet in year two. So I know there's a lot
- 23:35Speaker 5: of hype because John Harbaughs here and I know it's
- 23:37Speaker 5: New York. So, I mean, I ever feel like I've
- 23:38Speaker 5: covered this team for five years now, so like I
- 23:40Speaker 5: feel like every year with the Giants, it's the people
- 23:42Speaker 5: internally are like, Hey, we're gonna be good. We're gonna
- 23:44Speaker 5: be Good're gonna be good. All of a sudden bom
- 23:45Speaker 5: they win five games. I think they're probably like a
- 23:47Speaker 5: seven win team this year. But that idea they're winning
- 23:50Speaker 5: twelve thirteen, I don't know about that.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I will take eight wins please. We'll get to that
- 23:55Speaker 2: at some point later.
- 23:56Speaker 3: But why are there so many retreads at receiver this team?
- 24:00Speaker 3: I understand the need for depth, but is it Jersey Sales?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Is it bodies?
- 24:04Speaker 3: Is it them looking for some sort of leader in
- 24:06Speaker 3: the locker room?
- 24:07Speaker 2: What is with all of the old dudes?
- 24:09Speaker 5: Jalen Hyatt was a third round pick that has been
- 24:12Speaker 5: a bust. Wandel Robinson was a second round pick that
- 24:15Speaker 5: hit but now is playing for the Tennessee Titans. The
- 24:17Speaker 5: Giants are basically left with one. They paid Darius Slayton,
- 24:20Speaker 5: but now he's had was beay Terry Satan last year
- 24:23Speaker 5: and then he had a horrific year and a down year.
- 24:25Speaker 5: So like it's they had to turn to the well
- 24:29Speaker 5: of veterans like Mooney and Calvin Austen and bringing back
- 24:31Speaker 5: Odell because they don't have anything opposite.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Melik Neighbors and I think one of the reasons.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Why Jackson has struggled so much in spite of the
- 24:39Speaker 5: new offense that clearly he's just uncomfortable with at this point,
- 24:42Speaker 5: which is understandable, but still he's uncomfortable with at this point.
- 24:45Speaker 5: I think one of the reasons why he's struggling also
- 24:47Speaker 5: is like there's no one there that's just getting open.
- 24:49Speaker 5: I go to Jets camp as well, and you see
- 24:51Speaker 5: Ady Mitchell, and you see Garrett Wilson and even Omar
- 24:53Speaker 5: Cooper at times, and granted, the Giants, the Jets secondar
- 24:56Speaker 5: is pretty horrific, but like you see these dudes just
- 24:58Speaker 5: get open, and Gino or Kate Klubnick, like they're throwing
- 25:01Speaker 5: passes to guys who have a yard of separation, Like
- 25:04Speaker 5: that's wide open in the NFL because they're getting open
- 25:07Speaker 5: the Giants receivers. It's like every time Jackson drops back,
- 25:10Speaker 5: he's got a threat a needle, and it's.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Not obviously a good thing.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Now, granted, things will open up when Malik is truly
- 25:15Speaker 5: fully back, because suddenly, okay, there's your one that everybody
- 25:17Speaker 5: needs to pay attention to. So now Darius Slayton and
- 25:20Speaker 5: Mooney and Austin they're not your ones, they're your two
- 25:22Speaker 5: three fours, and that makes it very much easier for
- 25:25Speaker 5: them because now you also have a bona fide.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Number one in Neighbors.
- 25:27Speaker 5: But I don't think they want to bring in all
- 25:30Speaker 5: these veteran guys. I think they'd love for to know, like, Oh,
- 25:33Speaker 5: Jalen Hyatt, we invested a draft picking you. Guess what
- 25:35Speaker 5: You're now our third option on offense, our deep threat,
- 25:38Speaker 5: like a legitimate player. Wandell, Yeah, you became a thousand
- 25:41Speaker 5: yard receiver last year.
- 25:42Speaker 4: We paid you.
- 25:43Speaker 5: You're a lockdown slot, our number two guy. They would
- 25:45Speaker 5: love that. They just don't have that luxury.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I watched the preseason games on recording. I feel like
- 25:50Speaker 1: it's the only way to do it. That way, I
- 25:51Speaker 1: can fast forward through the crap that doesn't matter, which
- 25:54Speaker 1: is most of it. But I saw Odell Beckham junior
- 25:59Speaker 1: out there. I was like, oh, I put on an
- 26:00Speaker 1: old Giants game and I didn't even realize. That's like
- 26:03Speaker 1: a crazyess Malik Neighbors. I've been hearing mixed reviews. If
- 26:06Speaker 1: you listen to the fantasy guys that are out there,
- 26:08Speaker 1: they saw him cutting at practice and that was all
- 26:11Speaker 1: they needed to draft him high. If you listen to
- 26:13Speaker 1: the NFL guys, I think it's much more. There's much
- 26:17Speaker 1: more pessimism surrounding his health that it might take another
- 26:20Speaker 1: year for him to return to athletic form. What do
- 26:24Speaker 1: you know, what have you seen as far as neighbors,
- 26:26Speaker 1: How healthy is he going to be?
- 26:28Speaker 5: I mean the neighbors that we saw pre injury. Yeah,
- 26:32Speaker 5: I mean that's probably next year. I mean, but that's
- 26:35Speaker 5: not uncommon. Like most dudes who blow out their knee
- 26:37Speaker 5: like he did, unless you're Adrienne Peterson, Like, you play
- 26:40Speaker 5: the next year, but you're not yourself yourself until another
- 26:43Speaker 5: year down the road. Like that doesn't mean Melie can't
- 26:45Speaker 5: go out there and catch eighty passes for eleven hundred
- 26:47Speaker 5: twelve hundred yards and five or six touchdowns.
- 26:50Speaker 4: But like the guy who looked like as.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Close to Jamar Chase as we've seen from Jamar Chase
- 26:55Speaker 5: in terms of a play style.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I don't know if he'll be that this year now.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Everything the Giants had done since training camp began was
- 27:02Speaker 5: with the goal of getting the Leak ready for week one.
- 27:04Speaker 5: That's why he didn't go on the pup list. That's
- 27:06Speaker 5: why he was out there doing individual drills on day
- 27:08Speaker 5: one of camp. That's why they're starting to work him
- 27:09Speaker 5: into team drills this week, albeit in a red non
- 27:12Speaker 5: contact jersey, So he's doing all of these things to
- 27:15Speaker 5: get ready now. In my opinion, I think most likely
- 27:19Speaker 5: we're probably looking at Malik playing Week one, but not.
- 27:24Speaker 4: With a sixty seventy play workload.
- 27:26Speaker 5: I think they're still going to have him out there
- 27:27Speaker 5: just because of what a difference maker he is in
- 27:29Speaker 5: terms of even just garnering attention from the defense, but
- 27:32Speaker 5: it's probably going to.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Be on a play limit.
- 27:34Speaker 5: And then late October November, I think that's when you
- 27:36Speaker 5: really see the training wheels come off and they'll say, okay,
- 27:38Speaker 5: Malik go.
- 27:39Speaker 3: A question I've asked all of our guests during these
- 27:41Speaker 3: divisional previews has been are you more concerned about the
- 27:44Speaker 3: offense or the defense? I think a lot of casual
- 27:46Speaker 3: with football fancy Jackson, Dart and camp Scattabow and think
- 27:49Speaker 3: the defense is the question. But their defensive line last
- 27:52Speaker 3: year was a highlight.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Of the team.
- 27:54Speaker 3: There is definitely more concern for this offense Locally, I
- 27:57Speaker 3: assume yeah.
- 27:59Speaker 4: I mean I think so the Giants.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Their offensive line I think at baseline is average, which is,
- 28:03Speaker 5: you know, an average offensive line of the NFL still
- 28:05Speaker 5: probably top ten, like I mean it's there's not a
- 28:07Speaker 5: lot of great, great offensive lines in the league.
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's a huge improvement for the Giants over Yeah, yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 1: they may had some bad lines.
- 28:13Speaker 5: Yeah, they made a step last year, and you look
- 28:15Speaker 5: at everyone that bringing back and then you turn around
- 28:17Speaker 5: you ad like c. C. Mawiinoa, who's a you know,
- 28:19Speaker 5: a top ten pick here and you put him in
- 28:21Speaker 5: a guard like that should make a legitimate improvement off
- 28:23Speaker 5: of Greg ben Roten. Like there's little things like that
- 28:25Speaker 5: that they did that that's it's significant, it should be
- 28:28Speaker 5: a significant boost to this grouping.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I think I have equal concerns about both right now.
- 28:35Speaker 5: And the offense is primarily dark because I don't I
- 28:38Speaker 5: haven't We're on three weeks of camp and I was
- 28:40Speaker 5: a week there in West Virginia and now I split
- 28:43Speaker 5: week by week with Jets and Giants, And like, I
- 28:46Speaker 5: haven't seen Dart look good.
- 28:48Speaker 4: I mean, there have been good moments, but.
- 28:50Speaker 5: I haven't seen him have a consistently good practice. And
- 28:53Speaker 5: that's a little concerning because I don't think the Giants
- 28:55Speaker 5: secondary is very good. So like this isn't and I've
- 28:57Speaker 5: been enough of these camp guys camp camp practice guys,
- 29:00Speaker 5: said my first one was actually when I'm still at
- 29:01Speaker 5: momoth in twenty fourteen, and like, you can tell when
- 29:04Speaker 5: a defense just kicks an offense's teeth and the defense
- 29:07Speaker 5: is a great practice, Like I haven't seen that from
- 29:09Speaker 5: the Giants defense. It just looks like an offense that's
- 29:11Speaker 5: discombobulated at times. And I worry now, having made a
- 29:14Speaker 5: handful of calls a few days ago about Matt Nagina's offense,
- 29:17Speaker 5: like is this a fit for Jackson start?
- 29:19Speaker 4: Is this going to work?
- 29:20Speaker 5: Like I have those reservations and concerns before you loop in, like, hey,
- 29:23Speaker 5: who's wide receiver two three and four? Hey, is Malik
- 29:25Speaker 5: Neighbor's going to play? Hey, they just signed Naji Harris.
- 29:27Speaker 5: That's a sign maybe they don't believe entirely in cam
- 29:29Speaker 5: Scattaba was RB one, or maybe they want him more
- 29:32Speaker 5: as a compliment.
- 29:32Speaker 4: So I have issues there.
- 29:34Speaker 5: Defensively, I love their pass rush, like Cavon Brian Burns
- 29:37Speaker 5: at dual card.
- 29:38Speaker 4: They're gonna be able to rush the passer.
- 29:39Speaker 5: But the big issue with the Giants last year is
- 29:41Speaker 5: those guys didn't have the opportunity to just pin their
- 29:43Speaker 5: ears back and go because they were one of the
- 29:45Speaker 5: league's worst teams at stopping the run, and they're hoping
- 29:48Speaker 5: without Dexter Lawrence. So they're gonna be able to do
- 29:50Speaker 5: it with Harris and DJ Reader in the middle. And
- 29:53Speaker 5: I that to me, even if like you get what
- 29:55Speaker 5: you want out of Harrison Reader, I still look at
- 29:57Speaker 5: that interior defensive line as like, Okay, maybe it can
- 30:00Speaker 5: be like a little blow average. I still think it's like, oh,
- 30:03Speaker 5: those two guys fix your run defense. I don't and
- 30:05Speaker 5: maybe I'm wrong, Like I could be wrong. Wouldn't be
- 30:07Speaker 5: the first time, wouldn't be the last time. But I
- 30:09Speaker 5: have I have great preview for the Giants. I have
- 30:12Speaker 5: equal reservations about both offense and defense.
- 30:15Speaker 1: They've got to get better in terms of sacking the
- 30:17Speaker 1: quarterback and whatever form that comes. They were. With the
- 30:19Speaker 1: talent they have, they have no business not ranking inside
- 30:22Speaker 1: of the top ten. There were seventeenth in the league
- 30:24Speaker 1: in terms of getting after the quarterback last year. I
- 30:28Speaker 1: was already liking the Giants under seven and a half
- 30:31Speaker 1: after listening to you, Connor, I am foaming at the
- 30:34Speaker 1: mouth to go and bet this. I will. I haven't
- 30:36Speaker 1: done it yet. I will be doing that the moment
- 30:37Speaker 1: we are done here, Kendro.
- 30:38Speaker 2: What can you be on the opposite side?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Well not or yeah, I'm not buying it.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Here's the equalizer, here's the schedule.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:48Speaker 5: I wouldn't to me, I'm like, I've heard the schedule.
- 30:51Speaker 5: May I was just covering the I'm so beaten down
- 30:53Speaker 5: by just covering terrible football.
- 30:54Speaker 4: But again, Jets and Giants.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I said so, like I covered my first NFL to
- 31:00Speaker 5: college at the time. My first one was twenty fourteen,
- 31:02Speaker 5: and then I was full time in twenty sixteen when
- 31:05Speaker 5: I graduated. In that time, I have covered two winning seasons,
- 31:08Speaker 5: the Giants when they went and they want they beat
- 31:11Speaker 5: the Vikings. I was covering the Giants at that point,
- 31:13Speaker 5: and then the Jets when they went ten and six,
- 31:15Speaker 5: but they lost the Bills in Week seventeen and were
- 31:17Speaker 5: eliminated from the playoffs. So I don't know how that's
- 31:19Speaker 5: twelve years and two winning seasons. So I've been beat
- 31:21Speaker 5: down by like expectations and then just no, the team's terrible,
- 31:24Speaker 5: I will say with the Giants, and this is the
- 31:27Speaker 5: difference that John Harbaugh brings. And like, again you talk
- 31:30Speaker 5: about Baltimore and they were complaining about he was never
- 31:32Speaker 5: winning super Bowl.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Super Bowl. Super Bowl is a playoff success.
- 31:34Speaker 5: There was just a baseline competence, baseline professionalism. That is
- 31:38Speaker 5: a big school, big time ball coach on the sideline
- 31:41Speaker 5: where the floor for I don't know if they're ceiling
- 31:44Speaker 5: raises with John Harbaugh, but their floor does. Like this
- 31:47Speaker 5: is going to be a team where I mean, you
- 31:49Speaker 5: guys know this, Like when the Giants bottom out in
- 31:51Speaker 5: recent years, they'd went three or four games and be
- 31:53Speaker 5: just a disaster, Like I don't see the bad bottom
- 31:56Speaker 5: gown anymore. Like a bad season for the Giants moving
- 31:58Speaker 5: forward is probably gonna be seven to eight wins again,
- 31:59Speaker 5: which is what it was like under Kaughlin and so
- 32:01Speaker 5: many of the coaches before him, Like that was a
- 32:03Speaker 5: bad year, you know, like people were talking about fire
- 32:05Speaker 5: and Coughlin after eight and eight and stuff like that.
- 32:06Speaker 5: So like I think that's what you're gonna get to,
- 32:09Speaker 5: where seven eight wins is a bad year for the Giants,
- 32:12Speaker 5: and that's because Harball is just a professional, detail oriented
- 32:15Speaker 5: knows what he's doing. Like I think that's what you're
- 32:17Speaker 5: getting where even if the Giants aren't good this year,
- 32:20Speaker 5: like they still might find a way to win seven
- 32:22Speaker 5: games because they're just gonna be that feisty team and
- 32:24Speaker 5: have coaches on the sideline that know what they're doing.
- 32:26Speaker 1: We're gonna be battling on this one, Kendra until the
- 32:29Speaker 1: bitter end. But listen to the last three games of
- 32:31Speaker 1: the schedule at the Lions, at the Cowboys home against
- 32:35Speaker 1: the Eagles. So if you need that victory to get
- 32:37Speaker 1: the over, you're gonna be a little nervous.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Well, they start out like they have every opportunity to
- 32:44Speaker 3: stay healthy until the I would say end of November,
- 32:48Speaker 3: and that's when shit's gonna hit the fan. But they'll
- 32:50Speaker 3: steal one or two of those and they play the
- 32:52Speaker 3: Browns whatever.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I look forward to those days, all right, Kendra, I'll
- 32:57Speaker 1: let you decide you want to go Commanders or Cowboys next.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Let's see the Cowboys for last, all right?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Good idea A big time letdown season for the Commanders.
- 33:05Speaker 1: After a charmed twenty twenty four year NFC title Game appearance,
- 33:10Speaker 1: they and everything just went to hell. Jayden Daniels played
- 33:13Speaker 1: seven of seventeen games. He wasn't good when he was
- 33:15Speaker 1: out there, and frankly, this team doesn't have enough in
- 33:19Speaker 1: other areas to overcome that I feel like this read
- 33:22Speaker 1: is pretty simple. Connor. Either he gets back to a
- 33:24Speaker 1: superstar level and puts this number five bullshit behind him,
- 33:28Speaker 1: or it's gonna be a long year for Washington. I
- 33:31Speaker 1: really like dan Quinn, but I don't know that he
- 33:33Speaker 1: can survive another bad season. How do you need it?
- 33:35Speaker 5: I'm I'm much less high on the Commanders than I
- 33:39Speaker 5: am any other team. I mean, I think the Giants
- 33:42Speaker 5: are better coaching. I think the Giants have with Milik's healthy,
- 33:46Speaker 5: I think they've better playmakers.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I think the only thing that Washington has right now
- 33:50Speaker 4: is Jayden and Daniels.
- 33:51Speaker 5: And if you go back to what you saw his
- 33:52Speaker 5: rookie year, that quarterback looked special, like he's the guy
- 33:55Speaker 5: that if you're going off his rookie year, looked like
- 33:58Speaker 5: the player who can elevate everyone around him and just
- 34:00Speaker 5: even when it's muddy, and even when it's ugly, and
- 34:02Speaker 5: even when things aren't supposed to work, he finds a
- 34:05Speaker 5: way to make it work. And if you get that
- 34:07Speaker 5: Jayden and Daniels this year, that's when you can say, Okay,
- 34:09Speaker 5: the Commanders are better than the Giants, Because I think
- 34:10Speaker 5: Jade's a better player than Jackson Dart, so like that's
- 34:12Speaker 5: when you can say it.
- 34:13Speaker 4: But now you throw in this.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Like lawsuit with LSU, and you start to have like
- 34:17Speaker 5: these little rumblings and grumblings of what's working and what's not.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Like to it's it's it's to.
- 34:22Speaker 5: The point here, guys where like I wonder if there's
- 34:25Speaker 5: gonna be such dysfunction around washing it. This is just
- 34:26Speaker 5: a really bad year that ends in dan Quinn getting
- 34:29Speaker 5: fired and a borderline reboot at the end of the
- 34:31Speaker 5: year where you keep Jaden Daniels but you kind of
- 34:33Speaker 5: just system reset everything around him.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I have so many thoughts about this team. I could
- 34:37Speaker 3: talk about them for hours. Most of their defense is
- 34:40Speaker 3: already injured. They have two Patriots retreads joining the team
- 34:45Speaker 3: this year in Kylevon Chason, who is questionable to start.
- 34:47Speaker 2: The season, and Stephan Diggs.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Do you expect I kind of want to talk about
- 34:51Speaker 3: these two editions just because I think that they're rather
- 34:53Speaker 3: large for the team. Do you expect Kaylevon to be
- 34:56Speaker 3: able to continue the level of play that he had
- 34:58Speaker 3: last year? And do you think that Stephan Diggs does
- 35:00Speaker 3: anything for this team? Do you expect Mike Rabel was
- 35:04Speaker 3: constantly commenting last year about how much of a leader
- 35:06Speaker 3: he was. I think he completed like eighty nine percent
- 35:09Speaker 3: of the catches that were thrown to him at a
- 35:11Speaker 3: catchable rate last year. Just insane, which for once again
- 35:14Speaker 3: talking about old receivers, pretty impressive. But when do you
- 35:17Speaker 3: expect that drop off to kind of happen for both
- 35:20Speaker 3: of these guys.
- 35:20Speaker 4: I already saw it.
- 35:21Speaker 5: I think you've already seen it with the I mean, look,
- 35:24Speaker 5: it's about squeezing a little bit more out of the lemon.
- 35:26Speaker 5: And I think more about Diggs, like, I think the
- 35:28Speaker 5: guy can still play somewhat, But what are you looking for?
- 35:31Speaker 5: Do you want a guy that's going to have six
- 35:32Speaker 5: hundred to seven hundred fifty yards this year?
- 35:34Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 35:34Speaker 5: I think Diggs can do you that can give you
- 35:37Speaker 5: that if if Terry gets banged up again and starts
- 35:39Speaker 5: dealing with injuries and suddenly you're looking at him and saying, hey,
- 35:41Speaker 5: is Terry mclaur.
- 35:43Speaker 4: In an issue?
- 35:43Speaker 1: Now?
- 35:44Speaker 5: Like, I don't think Diggs is like a wide receiver
- 35:46Speaker 5: one or two. So I think that's where you kind
- 35:47Speaker 5: of run into problems with the commanders and specifically that grouping.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I really like Sonny styles. I love this on defense. Yeah,
- 35:55Speaker 1: I mean they should be better O de Fayoway from Baltimore.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I don't think that should be overlooked either. I mean
- 36:00Speaker 1: this pass rush isn't gonna like strike. Yeah. I mean
- 36:04Speaker 1: they have to get healthy, they have better leadership. Now,
- 36:08Speaker 1: it's not a defense that's gonna scare opposing ocs, but
- 36:12Speaker 1: I do think it should be better. And I think
- 36:14Speaker 1: dan Quinn is a good coach, so if you give
- 36:17Speaker 1: him some talent, he should be able to make chicken
- 36:19Speaker 1: salad out of chicken scratch.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I get that.
- 36:21Speaker 5: I don't think even if they're better, like, I don't
- 36:23Speaker 5: think they're returning to I think that, like you said,
- 36:25Speaker 5: like everything went their way, like every even in the
- 36:28Speaker 5: game where they beat the hell out of the Lions,
- 36:30Speaker 5: like it took like the entire Lions roster being decimated
- 36:33Speaker 5: by injuries for the Commanders to do what they did.
- 36:34Speaker 5: A healthy Lions team beats the Commanders, Like that's just
- 36:37Speaker 5: that's what happens in that game. So I it really
- 36:41Speaker 5: all and it's it's such a cliche thing to say,
- 36:43Speaker 5: but it really all falls on Jaden, Like I don't
- 36:45Speaker 5: think they have the roster yet to be put into
- 36:48Speaker 5: the Class of the Cowboys, of the Eagles, or certainly
- 36:50Speaker 5: not any of the other top tier teams in the NFC,
- 36:52Speaker 5: Like they're not in that class. What you're gonna need
- 36:55Speaker 5: is Jalen to be special. And if Jalen is special,
- 36:58Speaker 5: maybe this team can get a nine or ten win,
- 37:00Speaker 5: But I'm sorry to have some reservations about that and
- 37:03Speaker 5: also his ability just to stay healthy.
- 37:05Speaker 3: What are your expectations for Bill Krofsky Merit this season?
- 37:09Speaker 3: He was obviously a huge piece of that offense last
- 37:11Speaker 3: year a little bit of a breakout season.
- 37:12Speaker 2: For the kid. What do you expect from him?
- 37:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I was actually just talking to somebody over with
- 37:17Speaker 5: Washington a couple days a couple of weeks ago now
- 37:19Speaker 5: about him, and he said, he goes, he's in fifty
- 37:21Speaker 5: to fifty split, Like it's going to be a fifty
- 37:23Speaker 5: to fifty split and he's going to be just as involved,
- 37:25Speaker 5: like a one two punch at defense or one two
- 37:27Speaker 5: punch in the backfield.
- 37:28Speaker 4: And so yeah, that's what I'd expect from him.
- 37:31Speaker 5: Again, Unfortunately, it's so weird, like there's not that many
- 37:33Speaker 5: bellcout running backs in the NFL anymore, Like even Breese
- 37:35Speaker 5: Hall with the Jets like Braylen Allen's going to get
- 37:37Speaker 5: a lot of touches, like Cam Scataboo. Yeah you want
- 37:40Speaker 5: to No, it's not camp because you're going to have
- 37:41Speaker 5: now Harris and Tyrone Tracy can carries. Like there's very
- 37:43Speaker 5: few guys that you can just hang your hat on.
- 37:45Speaker 5: It's like, oh, he's going to get twenty five touches
- 37:47Speaker 5: a game. But Bill is going to be very involved
- 37:49Speaker 5: in that offense.
- 37:50Speaker 1: That's just such a weird team. I for all of
- 37:53Speaker 1: these previews, just like the first thing that I do
- 37:55Speaker 1: when I jump into my prep is I do a
- 37:58Speaker 1: ranking of the offensive lines, ranking of the overall offense.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I do a ranking of the defense. They are third
- 38:05Speaker 1: or fourth in all of those. I just think there's
- 38:08Speaker 1: just not a lot to love. And now I think
- 38:10Speaker 1: it all goes back to I think they're the toughest
- 38:12Speaker 1: team to preview in this division because it's just like, Okay,
- 38:16Speaker 1: it's on you, Jaden, that's it. Everything else around him.
- 38:21Speaker 1: The wide receivers are mid, the running backs are mid. Defense, like,
- 38:24Speaker 1: none of it's terrible the offensive line. But I think
- 38:29Speaker 1: the best case scenario is Jayden Daniels is an MVP
- 38:32Speaker 1: finalist because everything else will fall into place if that happens.
- 38:36Speaker 1: I really like Sunny Styles, Kendra. I think the best
- 38:39Speaker 1: way to bet this team is defensive Rookie of the
- 38:42Speaker 1: Year eight to one Sunny Styles. That'd be my bet
- 38:44Speaker 1: on the Commanders.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Look.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I am very intrigued to see how the season goes.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I once again, I'm on the under on this team.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I think that they are going to be a bottom
- 38:54Speaker 3: five team in the NFL. I know that's kind of
- 38:55Speaker 3: a hot take, but I think they're going to be bad,
- 38:59Speaker 3: and I got to be honest, Like, the number one
- 39:01Speaker 3: thing we talked about this entire conversation about them is
- 39:04Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels. I don't think that he is the type
- 39:07Speaker 3: of player to not let this drama seep into what's
- 39:12Speaker 3: going on. When you have a literal government accounts, you know,
- 39:16Speaker 3: kind of making fun of you and your mom at
- 39:17Speaker 3: the end of the day, there's no way that that's
- 39:19Speaker 3: not going to seep in.
- 39:21Speaker 4: I agree.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Do you think Connor that he's able to put that
- 39:24Speaker 1: out of his mind because his mom handles so many
- 39:27Speaker 1: of his affairs that he can actually unplug from everything else.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Because I'm not of the belief that he had anything
- 39:36Speaker 1: to do with any of this. If we if we're
- 39:38Speaker 1: all dumping the blame on mom, then then he's just
- 39:42Speaker 1: an innocent bystander that.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Will say goods about your mom.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Ro Yeah, hopefully, hopefully he's like Lebron's going zero dark thirty.
- 39:51Speaker 4: You know, yeah, I have doubts on that. I have
- 39:54Speaker 4: doubts on that.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Let's talk about the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott coming off
- 39:58Speaker 1: of another explosive season. Perhaps it's his best. You could
- 40:01Speaker 1: argue that third most passing yards in the NFL, fourth
- 40:03Speaker 1: most passing touchdowns, number one in completions. The defense stunk,
- 40:08Speaker 1: but they've rebuilt that thing from the ground up. Micaeh
- 40:10Speaker 1: Parsons is gone. Quinnin Williams, I love him in the
- 40:14Speaker 1: interior where Shaun Gary is added to the defense. They
- 40:16Speaker 1: draft Caleb Downs, who doesn't love him? Out of Ohio
- 40:19Speaker 1: State Malachia Lawrence for my neck of the woods at UCF.
- 40:23Speaker 1: This team is oozing with talent on both sides of
- 40:25Speaker 1: the ball. Now, I have a hard time not falling
- 40:28Speaker 1: in love with the Dallas Cowboys. Am I going to
- 40:31Speaker 1: have egg on my face?
- 40:32Speaker 4: Connor, in what capacity you fall in love with them, Like,
- 40:37Speaker 4: are you falling in love with them?
- 40:38Speaker 1: I think they're going to win the division.
- 40:40Speaker 5: That's what I would fall in love. I'm right there
- 40:41Speaker 5: with you. Now once you get to the playoffs, it's like,
- 40:43Speaker 5: can Dak perform in the big game? Is DA gonna
- 40:45Speaker 5: win the playoff games?
- 40:46Speaker 4: Like? I don't know, Like they could be one and
- 40:47Speaker 4: done in the playoffs, But.
- 40:48Speaker 5: No, I there might pick to win the nfcas like
- 40:50Speaker 5: I like the Dallas Cowboys a lot. I think the
- 40:52Speaker 5: defense is going to be a lot better. I love
- 40:54Speaker 5: Dak Prescott. I think that offense with all the weapons
- 40:56Speaker 5: around him, is going to average like twenty eight game like.
- 40:58Speaker 5: And then the defense it needs to not be the
- 41:00Speaker 5: disaster it was a season to go, and that team
- 41:02Speaker 5: should find a way to win ten, eleven, twelve games
- 41:04Speaker 5: this year. So those Eagles Cowboys games are gonna be
- 41:07Speaker 5: fun to watch, man, because they're gonna be They're gonna
- 41:08Speaker 5: blood each other up and it's just see who's the.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Last man standing. So no, I'm very high on the
- 41:13Speaker 4: Cowboys this year.
- 41:14Speaker 3: What needs to be perfect for you to really buy
- 41:18Speaker 3: in on them making a deep playoff run.
- 41:20Speaker 5: The offensive line needs to stay together. I think that's big,
- 41:26Speaker 5: and then for me, the defense needs to be to
- 41:29Speaker 5: make a deep playoff run, the defense needs to be
- 41:31Speaker 5: above average. I think they make the playoffs and win
- 41:34Speaker 5: the NFCS with an average defense. They need to be
- 41:36Speaker 5: above average too good on defense to win because once
- 41:38Speaker 5: the weather gets cold, once you're in the elements, once
- 41:41Speaker 5: you're traveling somewhere, once the like, you're playing the best
- 41:43Speaker 5: of the best teams in the league, like the Rams,
- 41:45Speaker 5: and average defense.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Against the Rams isn't gonna get done.
- 41:48Speaker 5: Like the Cowboys can score thirty four in a Rams defense,
- 41:50Speaker 5: which I don't think is gonna happen, and the Rams
- 41:52Speaker 5: will go out there and score thirty eight, you know
- 41:53Speaker 5: what I mean. Like they're they're that good the Rams are.
- 41:55Speaker 5: So that's the team you're trying to that's the team
- 41:57Speaker 5: you have to match. That Rams defense is gonna be
- 42:00Speaker 5: able to shut people down on defense, and their offense
- 42:02Speaker 5: is already elite. So you're going to have to have
- 42:04Speaker 5: a good to definitely a Bob average, but also a
- 42:06Speaker 5: good defense if you want to try to make a
- 42:08Speaker 5: legit run in the NFC this year.
- 42:09Speaker 3: So I'm in the camp that they need good rookie
- 42:12Speaker 3: production for them to be over the edge. As far
- 42:15Speaker 3: as a deep playoff run, Kravitz mentioned Caleb Downs, Malachi
- 42:18Speaker 3: Lawrence Drew Shelton I think is going to be a
- 42:20Speaker 3: huge addition for them on the offensive line if he
- 42:23Speaker 3: can move into a starting role there. What are your
- 42:26Speaker 3: expectations for Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence specifically Hi.
- 42:30Speaker 5: Especially Downs, Like, I think Down's probably more than anyone
- 42:32Speaker 5: else is high on now. I've remember people talking to him,
- 42:34Speaker 5: like comparing him to like Kyle Hamilton, Like he doesn't
- 42:36Speaker 5: have the range that Kyle Hamilinton does, but he's just
- 42:38Speaker 5: so much stuff. And if you get him with a
- 42:40Speaker 5: good defensive coordinator and someone who's going to design a
- 42:42Speaker 5: role for him, I think he'd be a real difference maker,
- 42:44Speaker 5: you know, Honey Badger, Like where you have him in
- 42:46Speaker 5: the nickel, you have them back deep, you have him
- 42:48Speaker 5: near the line, you're blitzing them, then he's dropping back.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Like he can just do so much that when you
- 42:52Speaker 5: have that X factor weapon in the secondary, it can
- 42:55Speaker 5: really make a difference for your group.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Gary Jones wants this one desperately. The guys, you know,
- 43:01Speaker 1: thirty years this.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Is the thirtieth anniversary nineteen.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, nineteen ninety six. I was a I
- 43:08Speaker 1: think I was in fifth grade the last time they
- 43:11Speaker 1: were in the Super Bowl. I was so young. I
- 43:13Speaker 1: was still a Dallas Cowboys fan for no other reason
- 43:16Speaker 1: than that they were good.
- 43:18Speaker 2: That was That was where I was, you and every
- 43:20Speaker 2: other child in the nineties.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Cramitz, it was Cowboys. It wasn't very imaginative. It was Cowboys.
- 43:26Speaker 1: It was Chicago Bulls. You know, they were all the
- 43:29Speaker 1: great teams were kind of laid out in front of
- 43:30Speaker 1: you in that regard. I'm all in. Connor's all in.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think the best way to bet them is to
- 43:36Speaker 1: win the division plus two fifteen. You can find that. Kendra,
- 43:40Speaker 1: What about you? Are you as high? Are you going
- 43:42Speaker 1: to join us on this Dallas Cowboys kool aid parade?
- 43:46Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 43:46Speaker 3: But like for me, the thing is is that I
- 43:48Speaker 3: think Dallas wins this division not because they're world beaters,
- 43:52Speaker 3: but because I just think that the rest of the
- 43:55Speaker 3: division has either the rest of the division's just taken
- 43:58Speaker 3: a step back or you know, minute school step forward
- 44:00Speaker 3: with the Giants because of coaching. I'm really concerned about
- 44:03Speaker 3: the Cowboys schedule. I know a lot of you know
- 44:05Speaker 3: talking heads in the football media world don't take the
- 44:08Speaker 3: schedule seriously, especially after covering the Patriots last year so closely.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I think it definitely matters so and the meat of
- 44:14Speaker 3: their schedule is at a point in the year where
- 44:16Speaker 3: nobody's healthy. So I think they win this division not
- 44:18Speaker 3: because they are an incredible team, but because the rest
- 44:21Speaker 3: of the division has taken a step back.
- 44:23Speaker 1: All right, pod, bet here on that nine and a half,
- 44:26Speaker 1: by the way, is the win total for Dallas. So
- 44:28Speaker 1: if you didn't want to go all the way, if
- 44:30Speaker 1: you think the Eagles are going to be great, Dallas
- 44:32Speaker 1: is gonna be good too, you can get plus money
- 44:35Speaker 1: on over nine and a half. It's right now, juice
- 44:38Speaker 1: to the under at minus one twenty the schedule. If
- 44:41Speaker 1: you look at the Vegas forecasted win totals of your opposition,
- 44:46Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys are only outranked in terms of difficulty
- 44:50Speaker 1: by the Commanders, Panthers, Dolphins, and the Cardinals. How did
- 44:54Speaker 1: the Dolphins of the Cardinals get them get schedules as
- 44:57Speaker 1: hard like? They're up against it enough people, we don't
- 44:59Speaker 1: need Connor Hughes, our guest here today a phenomenal conversation
- 45:05Speaker 1: with you really enjoyed the nowhere you can find his
- 45:08Speaker 1: work on sny TVs. Tell that beagle.
- 45:12Speaker 4: We said, hello, I appreciate you guys.
- 45:14Speaker 1: We've previewed this division top to bottom. Kendra. NFC East
- 45:18Speaker 1: wildly entertaining division this year. These matchups are always on primetime, seemingly,
- 45:23Speaker 1: so let's plant our flag, best bet in the division,
- 45:28Speaker 1: flag in a shut up.
- 45:30Speaker 4: I'm trying to plant my flag here.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that thick.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I love the Cowboys this year. This is one of
- 45:36Speaker 1: my favorite preseason bets. Cowboys Division winner plus two fifteen.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Rarely do you get value from the sportsbooks on the
- 45:44Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys, but I think a enough bloom is off
- 45:48Speaker 1: the rows for this franchise over the years. They'ven't been
- 45:50Speaker 1: to the playoffs since twenty twenty three, but I think
- 45:52Speaker 1: they're going back and I think they take the crown
- 45:55Speaker 1: in the NFC East.
- 45:57Speaker 3: That was what mine was going to be because I
- 45:59Speaker 3: had given out the Giants over so many times.
- 46:01Speaker 2: So I'm with you on that.
- 46:02Speaker 3: But I've already logged the Giants over seven and a
- 46:05Speaker 3: half into the app. It's currently minus one ten. Another
- 46:08Speaker 3: thing that I do every season. I don't know if
- 46:10Speaker 3: I did this with you guys last year, but I
- 46:12Speaker 3: know I did it on my other show. I like
- 46:14Speaker 3: to pick a rookie receiver week one, four and anytime.
- 46:19Speaker 3: I think that there's a lot of noise trying to
- 46:21Speaker 3: cancel out my boy Kaye Lemon right now, but I'm
- 46:24Speaker 3: going to give out in any time Week one against
- 46:25Speaker 3: Washington for him.
- 46:26Speaker 2: I hit huge with Xevier Worthy for two.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Touchdowns anytime in his first game ever, so I'm running
- 46:33Speaker 3: it back. We're gonna go with mckaye lemon for in
- 46:34Speaker 3: any time as well.
- 46:35Speaker 1: All right, hopefully he's on the fields, but if that happens,
- 46:40Speaker 1: I think they'll want to get him work early on.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I've really wanted to see him in the preseason. I
- 46:44Speaker 1: don't know if we're going to, but hopefully he's ready
- 46:47Speaker 1: for Week one. So Kendra likes mccayki Lemmon. Anytime in
- 46:51Speaker 1: week one, I'm going Cowboys Division winner plus two fifteen
- 46:53Speaker 1: and she's with me on that pot. Bet on the Cowboys.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Who are we right?
- 46:57Speaker 2: I'm sure Gifford will be in.
- 46:59Speaker 1: That'll do it for us here on the Favorites. We'll
- 47:01Speaker 1: be back next week as we head west for Gold,
- 47:05Speaker 1: and you can catch it right here on the Action
- 47:07Speaker 1: Network YouTube page and wherever you download your favorite podcasts.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Special thanks to our guest Connor, to Kendra, to our
