- 1:38Speaker 1: Oh wow, Anna's our first press junket. I don't know
- 1:41Speaker 1: if you guys can tell. We're so excited about this movie.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Team Swedish Fish hashtag go chack go hashtag go.
- 1:51Speaker 2: That's what we said. That's what we said before every meeting.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Hey is the deep end for us, A little Swedish
- 1:55Speaker 5: fish joke.
- 1:58Speaker 6: We're swimming in the fish stew as well. We're so excited.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I go okay, everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 1: My name is Candy Fish of the Swedish Fish Corporation
- 2:07Speaker 1: but also of movie producing.
- 2:09Speaker 4: That's my girl. Hey guys, I'm Brandy Sweedish of the
- 2:13Speaker 4: Swedish Fish Family in Corporation and of the movie.
- 2:18Speaker 5: What's up. My name is Tony T.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I'm not a fish, but I am part of the
- 2:24Speaker 6: creative team. Really excited to be involved, and I'm working
- 2:30Speaker 6: on the Swedish Fish movie.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Sorry, I'm a.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Little nervous and hey, what's up, guys. I'm Doug and
- 2:35Speaker 3: I am part of the Swedish Fish movie. No affiliation
- 2:39Speaker 3: to the family, just one of the writers and creators.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I've worked to a lot of animated films and I'm
- 2:43Speaker 3: happy to dig my feet, my toes, and my teeth
- 2:46Speaker 3: into this one and.
- 2:47Speaker 5: My gills a little Swedish fish joke of the fish.
- 2:52Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We and our family love love, love to hear that.
- 2:56Speaker 1: My sister and I love to hear fish.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You guys are sisters, Yeah, are sisters, different last names,
- 3:01Speaker 3: but very much sister.
- 3:03Speaker 2: No, we're sisters.
- 3:04Speaker 4: So I am, We're we're half sisters. Yes, I'm from
- 3:09Speaker 4: my dad's side of the family, the Swedish side.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm from my mom's side of the family,
- 3:14Speaker 1: which is the fish side.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Before they got a divorce, they created this candy.
- 3:18Speaker 1: They created Swedish Fish, and we still own I still
- 3:23Speaker 1: own forty percent of the company.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You own forty percent. The rest is sprinkled amongst.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Um private equity, private equity.
- 3:31Speaker 6: It's funny because I've actually read about when your parents
- 3:34Speaker 6: got together, well your respective mother and father got together,
- 3:39Speaker 6: and wasn't the inspiration for the entire corporation, the entire candy.
- 3:45Speaker 6: It was because of the wedding announcement, correct Swedish fish
- 3:50Speaker 6: wedding and people saw that and said that.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Sounds like a candy? Is that? Am I saying that correctly?
- 3:57Speaker 5: It's true.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Everyone saw the phrase Swedish fish and they thought yummy,
- 4:01Speaker 1: yummy candy.
- 4:02Speaker 4: They thought yummy tummy candy. They thought sugar from Sweden
- 4:07Speaker 4: was candy.
- 4:09Speaker 5: Are you guys Swedish? No, are you guys fish? No,
- 4:15Speaker 5: that's funny, that would be that.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Would be crazy.
- 4:18Speaker 1: But we do think that we could write authentically to
- 4:20Speaker 1: the Swedish fish experience. I think that that was something
- 4:23Speaker 1: that we were super, super super excited about and we
- 4:25Speaker 1: were so excited to work with because we're you know,
- 4:28Speaker 1: we're filming people. But to be able to work so
- 4:30Speaker 1: closely with something so affiliated with our family and to
- 4:33Speaker 1: be able to bring you guys onto the team was
- 4:36Speaker 1: you go freaking weirdos.
- 4:38Speaker 4: You guys are stop these guys brains, you guys are
- 4:42Speaker 4: unlike any brain.
- 4:44Speaker 2: They work like crazy.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Well, we've actually worked on a couple of films before together.
- 4:48Speaker 3: We h we do a lot of animated films together.
- 4:50Speaker 6: You know a lot of animated films. We work with
- 4:52Speaker 6: a lot of different brands, a lot of different.
- 4:55Speaker 3: But we were just so excited to get in the
- 4:57Speaker 3: room to pitch you guys kind of our idea of
- 4:59Speaker 3: where we could take this story, you know, because the
- 5:01Speaker 3: Swedish Fish, you know, people don't think a beautiful narrated,
- 5:05Speaker 3: animated story about love, about brotherhood, about.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Finding yourself exactly.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Or we were just so excited to sit down with
- 5:10Speaker 3: you two and tell you guys, you know, this is
- 5:13Speaker 3: the vision that we have for your film, and for
- 5:14Speaker 3: you guys to be so receptive and also get in
- 5:17Speaker 3: the writer's room with us. We were so excited to
- 5:19Speaker 3: you know, kind of beat this thing out together.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh we love doing punch up and we love doing
- 5:24Speaker 2: punch up.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Oh, punch up, punch up. I love pitch.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I love a punch the ideas you guys had coming
- 5:31Speaker 6: in and you guys and pinch me if I'm lying,
- 5:34Speaker 6: But you guys.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Have eached me if I'm dreaming.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Okay, we have. You guys have never worked creatively on
- 5:40Speaker 6: anything before.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Correct, no, nothing, right, no, no.
- 5:46Speaker 1: When you own forty percent of the Fish Company and
- 5:49Speaker 1: forty percent of the Sweden Company, you don't need to
- 5:52Speaker 1: do a lot of things for yourself. But We've always
- 5:55Speaker 1: been film buffs ever since we were kids. In our
- 5:57Speaker 1: separate houses growing up, we would we would call each
- 6:02Speaker 1: other on the phone and we would watch We would
- 6:04Speaker 1: watch the Parent track.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Watch Drug, and we loved that movie because it was
- 6:08Speaker 4: so different. Because we aren't twins and we aren't actual
- 6:11Speaker 4: full sisters, right, It's like she's my other half, yet
- 6:15Speaker 4: she's a part of another family. We don't spend a
- 6:17Speaker 4: lot of time together, and we live in different houses,
- 6:19Speaker 4: you know, and it's like a different that's what brings
- 6:22Speaker 4: us together.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Can I just say, I love you guys, and I
- 6:24Speaker 6: love being around you guys. That love the energy you
- 6:26Speaker 6: guys are bringing.
- 6:26Speaker 5: It's so great.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It's so wonderful to also get feedback like that because
- 6:30Speaker 3: I feel like when we walked into Pitch, right when
- 6:32Speaker 3: we walked into Pitch, we weren't expecting such a good
- 6:35Speaker 3: reception and also so many notes right away exactly.
- 6:39Speaker 5: We were actually really surprised.
- 6:40Speaker 6: We haven't ever worked with a client with as many
- 6:42Speaker 6: notes even before the contract was signed. It was really
- 6:45Speaker 6: surprising to us. But we've actually found that it's been
- 6:47Speaker 6: a really great process.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I find that everywhere my sister and I go, we're
- 6:52Speaker 4: told you're too much, You're too much much, and we
- 6:55Speaker 4: finally found our match because you guys were ready.
- 7:02Speaker 2: You guys were ready, and you you know. I think
- 7:04Speaker 2: our first.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Big, big, big, big big note that we had was
- 7:08Speaker 1: that we wanted to make sure from a brand identity perspective,
- 7:11Speaker 1: from a fish perspective, all the Swedish fishes in the
- 7:15Speaker 1: bag have different personalities.
- 7:16Speaker 4: That's because that is as my sister and I grow
- 7:19Speaker 4: older and learned to take the company in, we regret
- 7:23Speaker 4: they all have the same half smile.
- 7:26Speaker 2: That was a deep regret that we.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Carry for they haven't.
- 7:31Speaker 4: We carry that.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Sad just looking back at my mom's life and going
- 7:37Speaker 1: the life you could have had if you.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Would have made the fish is kind of different colors.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Oh, I literally, I'm like, mom, you're a part of
- 7:43Speaker 4: the generation with snow White and the seven Dwarfs. How
- 7:46Speaker 4: many different types of personalities we have, Sleepy, we have, dopey?
- 7:51Speaker 4: What do we have in the fish?
- 7:53Speaker 2: One personality?
- 7:53Speaker 4: And it's called fish fish fish half smile.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So when you guys first gave us that note, we
- 7:58Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if you'll go with this,
- 8:00Speaker 3: but I thought we had no chance of doing this
- 8:02Speaker 3: because you guys were so on board but immediately just
- 8:04Speaker 3: ripping apart our first kind of idea of it.
- 8:07Speaker 6: And you came in telling us that kind of fish
- 8:09Speaker 6: personality thing right away before you even heard the pitch,
- 8:12Speaker 6: and so we were like, oh, they must, she must
- 8:14Speaker 6: they you know, both of them you were going to say.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I think I think we just had this sense that
- 8:20Speaker 1: we knew what you were going to say, because a
- 8:21Speaker 1: lot of people have that first instance.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Finding Nemo but Swedish fish. But you guys wanted something.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Completely look, so that was our first idea and we
- 8:30Speaker 6: were going to do that, and just a little inside
- 8:31Speaker 6: inside us, I don't think we've actually talked shop like this,
- 8:35Speaker 6: but you know, pitching to brands, we have a lot
- 8:38Speaker 6: of ideas in our pockets. So we know how to
- 8:40Speaker 6: pivot on a swivel. We know what we're doing, We
- 8:42Speaker 6: know how to turnally, know how to move, we know how.
- 8:43Speaker 3: To change and we'll be so it's kind of we
- 8:45Speaker 3: do these like technique eye techniques.
- 8:47Speaker 5: You know, one wink moved to the left exactly two week.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Sometimes we would give you a note and you would
- 8:52Speaker 1: just spin around a full circle in your chair and
- 8:54Speaker 1: then come back to the new exactly.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah, like sometimes that's shimmy. When you guys were thinking
- 8:59Speaker 4: to get.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Ye, you kind of go, oh, interesting, that's all a
- 9:05Speaker 3: secret language.
- 9:06Speaker 5: All a secret language. The thing about it, I got it. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 5: Well you're in now now, you know.
- 9:13Speaker 6: But what I will say, so the first city we had,
- 9:15Speaker 6: of course finding emel about with Swedish fish, right, and
- 9:18Speaker 6: and you started.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Talking about oh no, no, no, no, no, you know
- 9:21Speaker 5: one smile, this is a big problem for you guys.
- 9:23Speaker 5: And then the second one we were going.
- 9:24Speaker 6: To pitch was a rainbow fish, but with Swedish fish,
- 9:27Speaker 6: where you know, all the fish are the same, but
- 9:29Speaker 6: one of the Swedish fish is different.
- 9:31Speaker 5: And we pitched that. We ended up pitching that, and
- 9:34Speaker 5: you guys, I will say, I've.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Never received such positive praise and such excitement from a
- 9:43Speaker 6: client that I was, you know, a potential client when
- 9:46Speaker 6: we pitch you guys basically rainbow fish but with you know,
- 9:49Speaker 6: a Swedish fish and of course a funny family.
- 9:54Speaker 4: You guys, that's what got because we had just we
- 9:58Speaker 4: had previously right before you guys had walked in. I
- 10:00Speaker 4: think your appintment was at ten am. Our nine am
- 10:04Speaker 4: was the Duplas Brothers real and that meeting. That meeting
- 10:08Speaker 4: was chalk on a chalk board.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it was chalk on a chalkboard.
- 10:12Speaker 1: That's a phrase that that's a phrase that we say
- 10:14Speaker 1: on our separate families.
- 10:16Speaker 2: That means my God says good.
- 10:17Speaker 4: You know expected it leans get out, it means get up,
- 10:21Speaker 4: get out. All the chalk is chalk, Get out.
- 10:23Speaker 2: All the chalk is chalk. Because we got a new
- 10:25Speaker 2: pitch coming in.
- 10:26Speaker 4: New pitch, New pitch.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Wow, that's great to hear because I look up to
- 10:28Speaker 3: the Duplas Brothers so much. It's great to hear that
- 10:31Speaker 3: you guys chose us instead.
- 10:32Speaker 4: You know, they didn't choose us. That's actually what happened.
- 10:35Speaker 4: They didn't choose us.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we we should be clear. We said yes to
- 10:39Speaker 1: them right away.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Was their pitch that got you right off the ba.
- 10:43Speaker 4: We couldn't really get them to do much because they
- 10:46Speaker 4: were like, we're taking this meeting and.
- 10:47Speaker 2: The agent said, like, that's a nice thing.
- 10:50Speaker 1: They thought we were gonna give them some Swedish fish
- 10:52Speaker 1: of some sword.
- 10:53Speaker 4: They thought maybe they'll do a spot or two. Yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 4: I said, we want to do a legal movie. Yea, yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 4: we want to feature and they said someone missing.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So their pitch of.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Saying no to us was, Okay, they're doing a secret
- 11:08Speaker 1: language thing right now, what does that mean?
- 11:10Speaker 5: We're good? We're good, really good. Both of us together
- 11:14Speaker 5: are very good right now.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Okay, so we've been working together for like months and
- 11:20Speaker 4: you guys haven't been outwardly doing this in like a
- 11:23Speaker 4: weird deceptive way. And I hope we didn't say anything wrong.
- 11:26Speaker 6: No.
- 11:26Speaker 3: No, let's get to the movie, which I'm really excited
- 11:30Speaker 3: to talk about from the fans.
- 11:31Speaker 5: I think that's where we need to talk about.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Brother, Let's go Swedish hash.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Hashtag go. That's our hashtag for the movie. It's hashtag
- 11:42Speaker 3: Joe go.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We were very excited to pitch that to the social
- 11:47Speaker 1: media department because they were like, gosh, switch up Swedish
- 11:51Speaker 1: fish and you could post a picture a TikTok of
- 11:54Speaker 1: you switching up something in your life. And we said, no,
- 11:57Speaker 1: we want hashtag go and they said that doesn't look
- 12:00Speaker 1: like it means.
- 12:01Speaker 5: It legally own that There was a lot.
- 12:03Speaker 4: And they said, listen, if you want to separate these
- 12:06Speaker 4: fishes personality, maybe go with something more specific, and we went, no,
- 12:10Speaker 4: hashtag can I.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Say though, the team over at the Swedish Fish social
- 12:15Speaker 6: media Brie. She is hilarious so we love working with her.
- 12:19Speaker 6: We love her sense of humor. She's a little dry,
- 12:22Speaker 6: she hilarious.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Smells like shit.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Oh she does smells our family for years.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Oh, our social media woman that we have hired, she's
- 12:31Speaker 4: been up. I know you're sorry. Sorry, see it Thanksgiving
- 12:36Speaker 4: at both my dad's house and then later her mom's house.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah, both just switch houses halfway through the meal.
- 12:44Speaker 5: I'm loving learning all about this is great.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Thanks, guys.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I will say I love Bree's humor online. I feel
- 12:49Speaker 3: like her tweeting and replying as Swedish fish is so fun.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:54Speaker 1: We were really going for a Wendy's thing for any yeah,
- 12:57Speaker 1: tweeting thing where she tweets as the Swedish Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I saw her yesterday. It was so funny. A kid said,
- 13:02Speaker 3: I hate Swedish Fish. She said, go kill yourself. It
- 13:05Speaker 3: was hilariously.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It was really she has that.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Really unique sense of humor and you look at it
- 13:10Speaker 6: and oh, you're actually really funny.
- 13:11Speaker 4: She's so funny, you know, in the nineties before she started,
- 13:15Speaker 4: she was when she first started.
- 13:17Speaker 5: She started the nineties, then adapted to online. That's great.
- 13:21Speaker 4: So when she was working earlier, she was doing more
- 13:24Speaker 4: of a Ben and Jerry's type engagement where she was
- 13:27Speaker 4: using the fish to do some political change, and it
- 13:31Speaker 4: was like, don't listen to Reagan and we were like,
- 13:33Speaker 4: this isn't the fish in the numbers.
- 13:36Speaker 8: Don't listen to Reagan in the nineties, because I remember
- 13:40Speaker 8: it's gone a lot of bad in the still tallies
- 13:45Speaker 8: tall cab gab gab gab gap and Brie was working
- 13:48Speaker 8: really hard.
- 13:49Speaker 4: To go and also she smelled like ships still.
- 13:53Speaker 6: Well, she's really like and she's funny, and she's really funny,
- 13:58Speaker 6: and I just I think she's When I got to
- 14:00Speaker 6: know her at first, I was a little like, oh,
- 14:02Speaker 6: she's kind of hard to figure out.
- 14:03Speaker 5: It's kind of a tough nut to crack, and I
- 14:05Speaker 5: think she's really funny.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Now, So hashtag go team, Let's talk about the movie,
- 14:10Speaker 3: Let's talk about the Nitti movie.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Let's talk about all you know.
- 14:16Speaker 6: Yeah, we're just really thrilled to unveil this because there
- 14:19Speaker 6: has been a lot of buzz about what this movie
- 14:21Speaker 6: is gonna be about, and so we're really excited to
- 14:22Speaker 6: talk about this here on this podcast for the first
- 14:25Speaker 6: time exactly.
- 14:26Speaker 5: It's a huge exclusive.
- 14:27Speaker 3: And just before we get into it, you know movies
- 14:30Speaker 3: like Inside Out, which you know, really help kids adapt
- 14:34Speaker 3: and understand their emotions. Movies like you know, Cars, which
- 14:39Speaker 3: help kids like grab the idea of loss helps kids drive.
- 14:42Speaker 5: It helps kids drive.
- 14:44Speaker 3: We wanted to inim for something very similar, kind of
- 14:46Speaker 3: like that angle you know in our movie. We wanted
- 14:49Speaker 3: to add something that could teach kids something about themselves exactly.
- 14:53Speaker 5: So Swedish Fish is about a little.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Fish named little Fish and he is a sassy young
- 15:01Speaker 6: guy played by Chris Colfer and Glee.
- 15:05Speaker 5: We love Chris. He is a rock rock things I
- 15:10Speaker 5: could never think possible.
- 15:12Speaker 6: He is so hilarious and funny in his own way,
- 15:14Speaker 6: like really funny when.
- 15:15Speaker 2: You get and really in his own way. I mean
- 15:19Speaker 2: he is so funny in his.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Own way, so funny, and.
- 15:26Speaker 2: You know what, he can sing, the kid can.
- 15:30Speaker 5: I mean they didn't put him on Glee for a reason.
- 15:33Speaker 4: The way the kid sings has this weird knock knock
- 15:36Speaker 4: jokiness to it, and it's so fucking funny.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a good.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Way funny, really really funny guy. And his motion capture
- 15:44Speaker 3: work for Swedish fish.
- 15:46Speaker 6: We did use so we used the Unreal machine, We
- 15:48Speaker 6: used ADU, we used VR to capture all of this
- 15:52Speaker 6: motion capture and it looks really good.
- 15:55Speaker 5: You know, we didn't just do cheap animation. We didn't
- 15:57Speaker 5: farm it out. It's kind of like we wanted to
- 15:59Speaker 5: do animation.
- 16:00Speaker 3: The mix between animation of something like you know, like
- 16:03Speaker 3: something like Finding Nemo and the animation of something like cats.
- 16:06Speaker 3: So we combine them both and the fish looks very realistic.
- 16:10Speaker 6: And can I say yeah, I mean, you guys, you
- 16:13Speaker 6: know it looks like a real Swedish fish.
- 16:16Speaker 5: But it really does.
- 16:17Speaker 2: And you can definitely tell it's Swedish.
- 16:19Speaker 3: You can tell Swedish and you can tell it's a fish.
- 16:21Speaker 3: It's almost like a cod of some court.
- 16:24Speaker 5: So you guys. We came to you guys.
- 16:26Speaker 6: And we said, look, this is going to cost us
- 16:27Speaker 6: a little bit, and they said, we want to spend more.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I said, put it all on red, which has been
- 16:32Speaker 2: our families.
- 16:35Speaker 4: We joke about it all the time in both households.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Households. Okay, so it's about Chris Colfert little fish. Yeah, fish,
- 16:44Speaker 6: and he doesn't quite fit in with the school.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Well that's because he's red.
- 16:49Speaker 9: And he's red and all the other fish are also red,
- 16:52Speaker 9: but in a different way. And you know, he goes
- 16:57Speaker 9: on a wild journey where he meets all sorts of
- 17:00Speaker 9: other delicious looking sea creatures.
- 17:03Speaker 5: And finds out that the validation he needed was inside.
- 17:08Speaker 5: We have an amazing cast Grandma.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Fish, We have a Maggie Smith, Maggie Smith, pink grandma Fish.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yes, al Pacino as the puffer fish.
- 17:21Speaker 9: Al Pacino as the puffer Francis mcadormnd.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Yeah as the shark. And of course, of course we
- 17:31Speaker 6: cannot miss this. I can't believe we got her. Addison
- 17:35Speaker 6: Ray as fish girl, fish Girl, and that is of course.
- 17:40Speaker 1: A big thing that we pushed for. Yeah, that you
- 17:42Speaker 1: guys were a little hesitant on.
- 17:44Speaker 5: He was definitely hesitant. You guys really seemed to love her.
- 17:47Speaker 1: We love We needed a half human, half sweetest fish
- 17:51Speaker 1: and they.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Needed a girl boss because she's a mommy's girl. I'm
- 17:55Speaker 4: a daddy's girl and we like, we needed that, we
- 17:59Speaker 4: need that.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Well, let's not forget about also another huge casting, James
- 18:03Speaker 3: Gordon as Star.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Oh how could we forget?
- 18:07Speaker 6: And his big number and I want to bring this up.
- 18:11Speaker 6: I am so excited to announce here right now, fifteen
- 18:16Speaker 6: original songs by BTS for this movie.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Huge Final.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Finally we could say it. It's been insane when we
- 18:27Speaker 4: signed that deal.
- 18:28Speaker 2: And those boys are fast. I mean we would get
- 18:32Speaker 2: very fast, and we would.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Get them premises and then they would send them on back.
- 18:37Speaker 2: They are a machine.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Them on back.
- 18:39Speaker 6: And I hope I'm not saying anything too crazy here.
- 18:41Speaker 6: They actually sent us fifty five songs only using fifteen.
- 18:45Speaker 6: They get them out so fast.
- 18:47Speaker 5: And I mean more for the sequel. Yeah, more for
- 18:49Speaker 5: the sequel.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Let's talk about some of those songs that got cut,
- 18:52Speaker 3: like Swedish fish Blue, which we said they're not blue.
- 18:54Speaker 5: They have to be read, yeah, they're not blue.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Unfortunately, a brand know that you know that.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Went straight up today, that went straight up, that went
- 19:02Speaker 4: straight up to mommy and daddy, and Daddy and Mommy
- 19:05Speaker 4: are both sick in bed, so brand stuff. At this point,
- 19:09Speaker 4: we are like really coming into this CEO. We're like
- 19:13Speaker 4: both coo, but we are really coming into that as
- 19:18Speaker 4: our parents and.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Dang, thank you, we're about to We're about to get there.
- 19:23Speaker 1: We're just waiting for the go ahead for mommy and
- 19:26Speaker 1: Daddy to take over the.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Go ahead, meaning nature taking that.
- 19:29Speaker 1: But in the meantime we are both the co chief
- 19:32Speaker 1: executive officers of the Swedish Fish Media franchises.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yes, so we are very thank you that on Can.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I jump to something else that I really wanted to
- 19:42Speaker 3: bring up, which I think is going to be really interesting.
- 19:45Speaker 5: There is a big, big, big theme here of the
- 19:49Speaker 5: over pollution of the ocean.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Kind of half of the adventure is little Fish traveling
- 19:54Speaker 3: and figuring out how to clear out trash from his home.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Thank you, Doug. And I think that's another thing that
- 20:00Speaker 4: us in that meeting, because Doug, you were the one
- 20:02Speaker 4: that went on a huge whim, went out on a
- 20:05Speaker 4: whim and said that you studied abroad an aquarium in Texas.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I studied a broad aquarium in Texas. I was I'm Canadian,
- 20:14Speaker 3: so I studied abroad in Texas at an aquarium in
- 20:17Speaker 3: the middle of Tucson, No, sorry, in the middle of Dallas,
- 20:20Speaker 3: not anywhere near an ocean.
- 20:22Speaker 5: But it was a fantastic experience for me. I love
- 20:25Speaker 5: to hear Doug's point of view.
- 20:26Speaker 6: I mean, we've made a couple really interesting indie movies
- 20:29Speaker 6: about his experience being a foreigner in America. But you know,
- 20:34Speaker 6: Canadians really amazing stuff. You're not doing any of that
- 20:38Speaker 6: kind of stuff.
- 20:38Speaker 5: No, definitely not, and you don't even need to, you know.
- 20:41Speaker 5: That's that's other stuff.
- 20:42Speaker 1: As we say, there is no nationality of Swedish fish nothing.
- 20:48Speaker 4: No, you don't see color.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Swedish fish do not have any sort of color.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They are not affiliated with the nation.
- 20:56Speaker 5: Swedish fish don't come from a country. Swedish fish is
- 20:58Speaker 5: the state of the part.
- 21:00Speaker 4: I mean, look at us, We're not Swedish.
- 21:02Speaker 2: We're not Swedish.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Happened you are Swedish and you are fish?
- 21:06Speaker 4: Yes that's my dad's name, but like country, like.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Any other names.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Totally. That's hilarious.
- 21:16Speaker 3: That's good. We should have put that in the movie.
- 21:18Speaker 3: That is really good's in the movie. I'm glad we
- 21:22Speaker 3: did surprise that is in the movie. Actually that's a
- 21:26Speaker 3: post movie.
- 21:27Speaker 4: That was can I can? I also, I don't know
- 21:29Speaker 4: if this is a spoiler, but I do want to
- 21:30Speaker 4: thank you guys for letting me and my sister come
- 21:32Speaker 4: in and do a couple of lines.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Are you well?
- 21:36Speaker 3: You guys actually had big moments as Frilly Fish and
- 21:40Speaker 3: Big Big Tuna.
- 21:41Speaker 4: And I and I. I'm I don't get why I
- 21:46Speaker 4: was big big tuna and my siss got to be
- 21:48Speaker 4: frilly fish.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I think sis. I think it's
- 21:51Speaker 2: just a vibe thing.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Does that mean.
- 21:56Speaker 5: A lot?
- 21:56Speaker 6: To kill me?
- 21:57Speaker 8: Kill me?
- 21:58Speaker 5: You have a lot of fun when we're putting stuff.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Okay, they're making some hand motions right now.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I don't know what that means.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I want to talk about something really exciting.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Oh they're pivoting. They just spin around in their chairs.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Let's talk about the pollution in the mood. Oh yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 5: the toys are going to be The toys are going.
- 22:18Speaker 4: To be fantastic merchandise.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Burger look out, Yes, Burger king, watch your back from.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Because the McDonald's Swedish fish.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Can you burging watch out? Because these happy meals just
- 22:33Speaker 4: got a lot happier.
- 22:34Speaker 3: These toys, specifically for the Happy meal at McDonald's.
- 22:38Speaker 6: This is all plastic.
- 22:41Speaker 3: They're all non biodegradable, they are non recyclable, and they
- 22:47Speaker 3: are not edible.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And that is a choice to show people how much
- 22:52Speaker 1: of a problem that is, how much we don't.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Like that, we're trying to add to it, to show
- 22:58Speaker 3: off how big the problem is.
- 22:59Speaker 6: I want to say, you guys are it's so funny
- 23:01Speaker 6: learning these kind of independent, quiet cultural things within corporations.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Independent quiet for sure.
- 23:08Speaker 6: You guys have like very specific feelings about Burger King.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Brenda, I think you have a lot of brandy, Brandy, Brandy, No,
- 23:16Speaker 5: I brandy, let me notice that.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yes, no, and it's it's something I am working on
- 23:21Speaker 4: with my family and my pr woman to not be
- 23:25Speaker 4: so vocal about those things.
- 23:27Speaker 5: You post a lot about burger.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Because well they're well they're dirty little bastards. Okay what
- 23:34Speaker 4: happened and they're dirty little I mean little bastards. And
- 23:39Speaker 4: my sis helps me let it go.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Brandy, if we if we just breathe on it,
- 23:43Speaker 1: if we just think about it. I mean, I don't
- 23:45Speaker 1: think Burger King meant to hurt you personally, And they didn't.
- 23:50Speaker 4: They didn't. And thank you sus for calling me out
- 23:53Speaker 4: and bringing back to me.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Of course, of course, of course, because what we really
- 23:57Speaker 1: have that's special is our company, and comparison is the
- 24:02Speaker 1: enemy of joy. If Swedish Fish is comparing itself to
- 24:05Speaker 1: Burger King all day long, we're never gonna be happy.
- 24:08Speaker 3: You guys are you know, completely different companies it's like
- 24:11Speaker 3: it doesn't feel like it.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Sometimes it's so hard to compare.
- 24:16Speaker 1: It's so hard, you know, it's like comparing us to
- 24:19Speaker 1: a Pet Boys.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Sis, we're different companies.
- 24:22Speaker 4: No, sometimes it's so hard. Comparison is the thief of joy, folks,
- 24:26Speaker 4: And I have that written down on all my journals.
- 24:29Speaker 4: I have it written down everywhere.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And if you really have it written down so much
- 24:34Speaker 1: in a way that is concerning, it's so hard.
- 24:36Speaker 4: For me not to compare myself to Burger King because
- 24:39Speaker 4: our little company, Swedish Fish. Sometimes I see what they
- 24:42Speaker 4: have and I wish we had it. I wish we
- 24:43Speaker 4: had drive throughs for Swedish fans.
- 24:45Speaker 1: You know what I wish I had is the ability
- 24:47Speaker 1: to see this movie for the first time again.
- 24:49Speaker 5: Oh my gosh. That's so. We had the premiere last
- 24:54Speaker 5: night at LA Live.
- 24:55Speaker 3: It's coming out in twenty twenty three. We had the
- 24:57Speaker 3: premiere last night.
- 25:00Speaker 4: What's absolutely insane, guys out It's well, you guys just
- 25:04Speaker 4: couldn't wait.
- 25:05Speaker 5: But it has to go through.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And in fact, I'm not supposed to announce this until
- 25:08Speaker 1: twenty twenty four, but in twenty twenty six, the Sweetish
- 25:13Speaker 1: Fish Ride is opening at Universal studio, studio getting international success.
- 25:21Speaker 4: International access, and I mean it's going back to Ella
- 25:24Speaker 4: Live really quick.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Last night.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I just want to give a huge shout out to
- 25:26Speaker 4: Panera Bread for that incredible spread.
- 25:29Speaker 5: That was awesome, all the Swedish fish soups.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that was so funny that they did that.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Panera has such a sense of humor.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Are maybe McDonald's would have catered, But they're really funny.
- 25:40Speaker 6: No, McDonald's doesn't care, so different, so funny in its
- 25:44Speaker 6: own little way.
- 25:45Speaker 5: They very funny company.
- 25:46Speaker 2: It's very funny their own way.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Not only funny, Like to look at him and you're
- 25:51Speaker 5: kind of like, what's you know?
- 25:52Speaker 6: Like this is interesting and then you're like, wait, bread bulls,
- 25:55Speaker 6: that's really funny.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Yes, that's not.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Their funny thing. Oh for their Chris stuff. They're so funny.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Well can we just well, let's just go back to
- 26:03Speaker 3: the movie for a second, because yes, I think the
- 26:05Speaker 3: fans are itching to hear a little bit more of
- 26:07Speaker 3: the plot secrets, wouldn't you say? One sequence I really
- 26:11Speaker 3: want to talk about to the fans is the fishing sequence,
- 26:14Speaker 3: where a couple of the fish get pulled up by
- 26:17Speaker 3: nets and a line can we.
- 26:20Speaker 6: Say this the net played by Jason Momoa and the
- 26:23Speaker 6: line played by John Cryer.
- 26:26Speaker 5: You wouldn't ever think too Yes, unbelievable.
- 26:30Speaker 2: You wouldn't actually have a special sneak piece.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I think we do too.
- 26:34Speaker 6: So this is little fish Chris Colfer being netted by
- 26:38Speaker 6: Jason Momoa and John Cryer.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Who is the line?
- 26:42Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 26:43Speaker 2: Okay, let it roll it, let's play it.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Excuse me? Where am I? Hey, you're in trouble, buddy,
- 26:52Speaker 5: Get out of here. Whoa are you a big net? Yeah?
- 26:56Speaker 5: I am, but I'm the line. Oh boy, here he comes.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Here we go. You're coming with me?
- 27:04Speaker 5: Kid? No, no, no, you move aside, little line. It's
- 27:08Speaker 5: a NETS job to pull this.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Come on up with me, little Wait a minute, are
- 27:13Speaker 1: you kind of an individual?
- 27:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna go.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Can't stop the feeling?
- 27:20Speaker 6: Did just dance?
- 27:21Speaker 5: Dance?
- 27:22Speaker 2: Can't stop the feeling?
- 27:24Speaker 3: And that was the only BTS song we didn't use
- 27:27Speaker 3: original BTS song.
- 27:28Speaker 5: We didn't justin.
- 27:29Speaker 6: Timberlakes Can't Stuff the Feeling from the Trolls movie.
- 27:32Speaker 5: We threw that one in. We threw that one in.
- 27:35Speaker 2: We got hup to re record it. Though it's a
- 27:36Speaker 2: different it's different.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Master we oh, it's the master for this one, so
- 27:41Speaker 3: he's very excited to put it in.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he was excited to record it his way.
- 27:47Speaker 1: We hit up the Big troll movie and so it
- 27:49Speaker 1: sort of decided.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Out he recorded in exactly.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I think that was another nod to how much we
- 27:57Speaker 4: we the Trolls movie walked so uh sweet.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Could run swim swim swim.
- 28:03Speaker 6: That's funny because of the because of the fish, because
- 28:06Speaker 6: we love the Trolls movie and it actually, you guys said.
- 28:10Speaker 5: It's the.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Okay, they're doing like third base coach baseball signals.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Right, the slide and the slide slide, head down slide.
- 28:22Speaker 5: We don't like the Trolls movie that much. We hate
- 28:24Speaker 5: the Trolls movie.
- 28:25Speaker 1: And you know what, Trolls for Trolls World Tour walked
- 28:29Speaker 1: so that Swedish fish for Attack of the Swedes could swim.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Which is gonna be a fun little Star Wars Attack
- 28:37Speaker 3: of the Clones type of thing where all the fish
- 28:39Speaker 3: look the same and you're very confused.
- 28:41Speaker 6: You guys are gonna have to watch the other two
- 28:43Speaker 6: Swedish fish movies in order to get up to Attack
- 28:46Speaker 6: of the Swedes, which we've.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Already written funnily enough.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Can I just say and can I want to thank
- 28:53Speaker 6: you guys so much the fact that you guys have
- 28:56Speaker 6: bought four scripts from dug in my elf.
- 29:00Speaker 3: You script outlines because you do, guys, a lot of
- 29:03Speaker 3: the punch up. Again, you guys do tons of the punch.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Up, tons of punch ups. But it's crazy, you're right.
- 29:07Speaker 4: I mean, we have invested so much in you, and
- 29:10Speaker 4: we're also invested in I don't know, a year long
- 29:12Speaker 4: ad campaign to release this movie. Slowly but surely, you guys.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Have changed our lives in the measurable ways.
- 29:17Speaker 6: And I just want to thank you guys so much
- 29:19Speaker 6: for the When I came out here to Hollywood, I
- 29:21Speaker 6: thought I was going to make, you know, small independent
- 29:23Speaker 6: films that expressed my experience growing up in a house
- 29:27Speaker 6: full of mental illness.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and me as a Canadian, which is also equally hard.
- 29:33Speaker 6: But now that we are just the screenwriters for the
- 29:37Speaker 6: Swedish Fish Corporation, I figured out my purpose and this huge.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I mean, we were so shocked that you had not
- 29:48Speaker 1: been snatched up by the Twizzlers movie. We were so
- 29:52Speaker 1: surprised and we were so lucky. I mean Brandy and
- 29:55Speaker 1: I were thanking our lucky stars.
- 29:56Speaker 2: For you because you, guys, we wouldn't be anywhere without you.
- 29:59Speaker 6: We were close for the Twizzlers, very close, very close.
- 30:01Speaker 6: It was between us and Nia Vardopoulos.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Wow, man just beat us out. Yeah, great pitch. You
- 30:09Speaker 3: guys heard what they're doing for the Twiddlers. It's my
- 30:12Speaker 3: big pet fat Greek Twizzler. It's you have Ardollas. I'm sorry,
- 30:19Speaker 3: and you have ard. Twizzler is getting married to another Twizzler,
- 30:22Speaker 3: but Twister is getting married to a man, Greek to
- 30:26Speaker 3: a man. The thing is the Twizzler is getting married
- 30:29Speaker 3: to a man. But what the man doesn't realize is
- 30:31Speaker 3: that the Twistler has a big Greek.
- 30:34Speaker 4: Oh my god, So the Twizzlers are Greek.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Yes, Twiszers are greed.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but one of them isn't.
- 30:39Speaker 6: Can you but one of them is a twist Can you, guys,
- 30:43Speaker 6: imagine a candy having a nationality.
- 30:44Speaker 5: I just don't disgusting.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Never imagine that. That's disgusting to me.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Crazy when I pitched to you guys, we need these
- 30:53Speaker 4: candies to have different personalities. And you met us yes,
- 30:57Speaker 4: to have a medics there nationality movie where all the
- 31:01Speaker 4: fish have the same personality.
- 31:02Speaker 5: Yeah, they're all happy and it was happy world.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Well, were you guys in the running for that Reese's
- 31:07Speaker 4: Pieces Hulu web series?
- 31:08Speaker 5: Yes, yes we were. We were in the running Forese's
- 31:11Speaker 5: Pieces Hulu.
- 31:12Speaker 2: It was only going to live on Social but it was.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Hulu's web series.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Gone to Pieces, Gone to Pieces about Reese's Pieces.
- 31:19Speaker 5: Family slowly breaking upon.
- 31:21Speaker 4: It looked really really really really sad and let a
- 31:24Speaker 4: kitchen sake drama.
- 31:25Speaker 1: We had seen with that for a moment, right, I
- 31:26Speaker 1: mean we were. We were talking back and forth about
- 31:28Speaker 1: what we wanted. There was yeah, point where we were
- 31:31Speaker 1: heavily fixated on this sort of head of Gabbler route
- 31:36Speaker 1: where it was just sort of like a Swedish fish
- 31:39Speaker 1: alone grappling with her new found purposes.
- 31:42Speaker 5: A housewife but kind of a fish out of water.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Yeah, almost, a mother courage and her children.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Yes almost Wow you children.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Wow.
- 31:51Speaker 6: I didn't know any of this and you guys, so,
- 31:53Speaker 6: you guys are really well versed in veritimate family drama theater.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Oh yes, yes, I mean we in our I mean
- 32:01Speaker 1: Hedda Gabler was big in our separate households.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Oh god, every like both Christmas Eves. We knew that
- 32:07Speaker 4: head of Gobbler was going on over there and over here,
- 32:10Speaker 4: and I'll tell you they know it was.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Read a little differently, and the translation.
- 32:13Speaker 4: In each one exactly. And every Christmas since we were
- 32:17Speaker 4: like five, what we've been doing august Osah County every Christmas.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Every Christmas. That's such a Christmas movie to me too.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah yet, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Well, I mean we're, as we said before, like we're
- 32:27Speaker 1: well versed in film and theater, and that's why we're
- 32:29Speaker 1: so excited to do this.
- 32:30Speaker 2: That's why because.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Our parents were I mean, we'll be honest, I don't
- 32:33Speaker 1: want to dampen the movie in any way, but they
- 32:36Speaker 1: were a little skeptical, right, They didn't they didn't feel
- 32:38Speaker 1: the need for a movie. They said, we're a candy company.
- 32:40Speaker 1: What do we need this for?
- 32:41Speaker 2: And I said, you.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Gotta get just don't get twenty twenty one, sorry, twenty
- 32:44Speaker 3: twenty three.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Yeah, amen to that?
- 32:47Speaker 6: Can I say seeing them at LA Live last night
- 32:51Speaker 6: when when there was a moment of silences, you guys
- 32:53Speaker 6: wheeled in their beds.
- 32:54Speaker 4: And I want to thank the Hospice company.
- 32:56Speaker 2: For I really want to think, I really want to
- 32:59Speaker 2: thank because this went.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Above and beyond.
- 33:04Speaker 6: We are actually writing a little web series for them
- 33:07Speaker 6: as a thank you, thank you.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll spanky comedy, right, yeah, in its own way.
- 33:14Speaker 5: It's funny in its own way. Yeah.
- 33:15Speaker 4: To get a hospice company to transfer to people to
- 33:19Speaker 4: la live for a candy movie really.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Just against the advice of every medical professional.
- 33:26Speaker 4: But money is money.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys tell us that all the time, and
- 33:31Speaker 5: I agree. I mean, money really is money.
- 33:34Speaker 2: And we have two things written on our notebook.
- 33:36Speaker 1: It's comparison is the thief of joy and money.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I will say one one version of this movie that
- 33:43Speaker 3: didn't get made.
- 33:44Speaker 5: It was our version that.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Was kind of like a sci fi opera, almost a
- 33:48Speaker 3: Dune of sorts, which I thought could have really worked.
- 33:51Speaker 6: Futuristic society. All fish have turned red and gummy, and
- 33:58Speaker 6: theciety is trying to survive on it. But they're so
- 34:02Speaker 6: hopped up on sugar that they are making rash decisions
- 34:05Speaker 6: and they cannot get their society.
- 34:07Speaker 1: And we were very nervous about the sugar rush angle
- 34:12Speaker 1: because for us, sugar is good.
- 34:14Speaker 5: You guys love the plastic.
- 34:18Speaker 4: It had to resemble to my sworn enemy, Burger King.
- 34:22Speaker 4: They did a weird high concept thing with chicken fries.
- 34:26Speaker 4: Their chicken fries right concept, sky high fries.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I think you got to unfollow them.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I think you gotta do a Google like a like
- 34:39Speaker 2: where you don't see birds.
- 34:40Speaker 4: It's good to know your competitors.
- 34:41Speaker 2: And I know that they're not a direct competitor.
- 34:45Speaker 4: There they are.
- 34:47Speaker 5: I mean, if you think they are that, I'm going
- 34:49Speaker 5: to say, yeah, they are.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Think about the family that leaves church and they go,
- 34:54Speaker 4: what's for lunch today? I think they're choosing between Swedish
- 34:58Speaker 4: fish and burger.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I don't think they are.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Okay, maybe it's just our family. I don't think that
- 35:03Speaker 4: maybe my family and your family.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Maybe that's just the dad's side of the things. Because
- 35:08Speaker 1: this has never happened in mom's house. This never happened
- 35:11Speaker 1: in mom's house. And I think you know that.
- 35:13Speaker 4: I do know that because I'm a part of both homes.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Yeah, let's segue really quick into and just big, a
- 35:19Speaker 3: big thank you to our animation team in Soul, Korea.
- 35:24Speaker 3: They're working overnight to finish this movie on time. They
- 35:27Speaker 3: are amazing animators. So how a little bit of the
- 35:29Speaker 3: animation process works. A lot of the base animation is
- 35:32Speaker 3: done in America at our big studios on the Universal Lot. Yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 3: and mo Cab capturing it, and then a lot of
- 35:38Speaker 3: the translation, the nitty gritty is sent to these great
- 35:42Speaker 3: animators in Soul Korea, and I think they did such
- 35:45Speaker 3: a good job of capturing I think what sweet to
- 35:47Speaker 3: fish taste like in their An Enemy.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Exactly, you can feel the taste in the movie.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Yeah, we wanted your mouth to water.
- 35:54Speaker 5: Yeah, and we did that.
- 35:55Speaker 6: You know, water is as much as the water that
- 35:58Speaker 6: the fish are swimming around in the What.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Happens when I.
- 36:02Speaker 3: It's my mouth gets super dry and almost lax water.
- 36:07Speaker 3: My saliva starts creating extra just because the candy is
- 36:10Speaker 3: so hard and dry. And that's something I think they
- 36:12Speaker 3: really captured, you know.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and the great thing about our company is that
- 36:15Speaker 1: the Swedish fish will say tasting good was never part
- 36:19Speaker 1: of the product design.
- 36:19Speaker 5: No, No, you can taste that every time you taste.
- 36:22Speaker 1: And you could taste it because, yeah, as you said,
- 36:24Speaker 1: your saliva is working over time.
- 36:25Speaker 2: We wanted a snack that's worked well.
- 36:27Speaker 3: I heard it was. Actually they made it. They made
- 36:30Speaker 3: the snack as a distraction from the great depression is
- 36:32Speaker 3: that true.
- 36:33Speaker 2: That was part of it. That was part of it.
- 36:36Speaker 2: That was part of it.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Bag Listen, I think and I could say, I think
- 36:40Speaker 1: that our family saved a lot of lives that way.
- 36:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a part of the way they lived
- 36:45Speaker 4: back then to get their minds off of the current
- 36:49Speaker 4: struggles and do some like very you know, like very
- 36:54Speaker 4: tedious struggles.
- 36:56Speaker 6: God bless you guys. You guys are Honestly, I would
- 36:58Speaker 6: consider you American.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Because who knows.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I mean, if and maybe if our grandparents didn't survive
- 37:05Speaker 1: the Great Depression, who knows if if you would be
- 37:07Speaker 1: here or if if we would be here, you would
- 37:10Speaker 1: probably be there because you were Canadian and I don't
- 37:12Speaker 1: know what was happening up there.
- 37:13Speaker 3: No, we were we were fine, we were unaffected. Okay,
- 37:15Speaker 3: actually better off, better off.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Well that's great.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Well, cheer.
- 37:20Speaker 5: They call Canadian depression January in Toronto because we're sad
- 37:27Speaker 5: out there. It's actually seasonal depression.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 37:30Speaker 3: You know, Cheering a Swedish fish is kind of like
- 37:33Speaker 3: bark at the beginning and then snot at the end.
- 37:35Speaker 3: It's such an experience to again, so chewing a Swedish fish,
- 37:41Speaker 3: you start, it feels like you're chewing bark, you know,
- 37:43Speaker 3: like a sophomo. Yes, and then at the end you
- 37:47Speaker 3: basically feels like you're chewing your own snot you know,
- 37:50Speaker 3: like you've actually sucked into much snuff from your your
- 37:52Speaker 3: throat and you start chewing it.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Oh, got it.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we can't stray too far into that territory.
- 38:00Speaker 4: We can't describe them, we.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Can't have our product and it s not in the
- 38:04Speaker 1: same sentence, and especially not at our press junket because
- 38:08Speaker 1: as we were saying before, this is a great movie.
- 38:10Speaker 5: We love the Swedish Fish.
- 38:12Speaker 2: We love the Swedish Fish.
- 38:14Speaker 3: We've gotta come out to see it in theaters twenty
- 38:16Speaker 3: twenty three. This is a little preemptive watch this in
- 38:18Speaker 3: twenty twenty three for sure.
- 38:20Speaker 6: And we forgot to mention the big side characters that
- 38:24Speaker 6: we've introduced in here.
- 38:26Speaker 5: They are going to be featured in the Universal Studios ride.
- 38:29Speaker 9: Yes, the Goldies, the Goldies, Golfy Insanity, Swedish Fish movie
- 38:35Speaker 9: Golfy Insanity is coming to Universal Studios twenty twenty six.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Golfy Insanity and the Goldies are so great because the
- 38:43Speaker 1: Golfies don't make any noise.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't slate leangqu and.
- 38:49Speaker 6: You guys can go ahead and describe what the goldpies are,
- 38:51Speaker 6: because you guys put them in last minute and didn't
- 38:53Speaker 6: let us know we were really we found out last night.
- 38:55Speaker 5: Yeah, literally last night when we went to go see
- 38:57Speaker 5: we went into.
- 38:58Speaker 1: The Google doc and we like and we wrote all
- 39:00Speaker 1: our scripts on Google doc.
- 39:02Speaker 2: By the way, we do that.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Those are the final scripts. We said. We're all on
- 39:05Speaker 5: Google but we.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Made them, We made them put it on the Google doc.
- 39:08Speaker 4: And I appreciate you guys for doing.
- 39:09Speaker 2: That, but thank you for doing that, thank you for
- 39:10Speaker 2: humoring us.
- 39:11Speaker 4: But we learned, we learned that rich people do have
- 39:13Speaker 4: a tendency of changing everything in the last minute because
- 39:16Speaker 4: we think it's possible. We think everything is.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Possible, and it is turned out because the goldies they're
- 39:21Speaker 1: these little guys, they're these purple little fish and they
- 39:25Speaker 1: make sort of these noises that go like like.
- 39:31Speaker 5: We sound exactly like that, because you guys did the
- 39:32Speaker 5: voices last second.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Yeah, charged, Speaking of this.
- 39:37Speaker 3: We would love to talk about, you know, give credit
- 39:39Speaker 3: where credit is due. Some of the punch up jokes
- 39:41Speaker 3: you guys made and changed without us really knowing, were
- 39:44Speaker 3: some of for me highlights.
- 39:46Speaker 5: They were so funny.
- 39:47Speaker 4: You guys are so funny. You know what I forgot
- 39:53Speaker 4: to say is super funny hospice.
- 39:57Speaker 2: That in their own way.
- 40:00Speaker 6: Actually when you get to know them, it's like at
- 40:02Speaker 6: the beginning, it's like tough, and you know you're actually
- 40:05Speaker 6: you're actually really very funny, You're actually kind of funny.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Like that makes this team a team is that we
- 40:12Speaker 4: find things and people that aren't naturally funny. Funny. We
- 40:17Speaker 4: found this, we found we made candy funny. Yeah, and
- 40:20Speaker 4: that's a feat.
- 40:21Speaker 1: We made candy funny. There were a lot of times,
- 40:23Speaker 1: I mean a lot of the things that we punched
- 40:25Speaker 1: up that we were so excited about is when Chris
- 40:28Speaker 1: Colfer's character would sort of look at the animated camera and, uh,
- 40:33Speaker 1: complete a pun the camera.
- 40:35Speaker 5: We just say, you don't say animated camera?
- 40:37Speaker 1: Ye, well, yeah, it's the animated and I'm sorry for correcting.
- 40:44Speaker 1: The camera that's filming an animated movie is animated.
- 40:47Speaker 5: You're right, I'm a dork and I'm actually taking animated.
- 40:50Speaker 5: I'm a he's a big dork. And we love them.
- 40:54Speaker 5: We love them for it so funny.
- 40:56Speaker 3: That was one of my favorite moments I saw last night,
- 40:58Speaker 3: and I didn't realize it until I saw it last
- 41:00Speaker 3: night that you guys had changed. We had written probably
- 41:03Speaker 3: three or four back to back jokes, some of our
- 41:05Speaker 3: favorite jokes, and you guys made them better, I think
- 41:07Speaker 3: by cutting most of them and only adding one joke.
- 41:09Speaker 5: I guess mind saying that joke again?
- 41:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah it was. It was Chris call for Uh.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Why don't we Why don't we play what you guys wrote?
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah, let's play it.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Let's play a couple of.
- 41:18Speaker 4: These, right, we'll do like three or four where you
- 41:20Speaker 4: guys play the thing you wrote and we'll play.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Well, we'll play how we punched it up.
- 41:25Speaker 3: This is James Gordon, Starfish and Chris Colfer meeting for
- 41:27Speaker 3: the first time. Honey, I'm no starfish. I'm just a
- 41:33Speaker 3: star no fish here. You don't see any gills or tails,
- 41:36Speaker 3: just me and the lime.
- 41:37Speaker 6: Like wow, uh you want a round of a clause.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Check please for this one. Let's get him out of
- 41:49Speaker 5: the water. I don't think I'm in my reef anymore. Listen, kid, Sorry,
- 41:56Speaker 5: and they cut it. They cut it, cut it.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we cut that, and but then we punched it
- 42:00Speaker 1: up to that line was actually instead of why.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Did you guys play it? Just play it?
- 42:07Speaker 2: Uh, how about a round of some claps? Please more
- 42:12Speaker 2: Swedish fish.
- 42:13Speaker 4: My gosh, oh my gosh, what do you want a
- 42:17Speaker 4: round of applause?
- 42:18Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, my gosh, why would they do that? Okay, Yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 1: so we really thought the phrase, my gosh was hilarious
- 42:31Speaker 1: and we.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Didn't understand your a clause thing.
- 42:33Speaker 1: We didn't understand the air clause thing because it's spelled applause,
- 42:37Speaker 1: and so we didn't understand what.
- 42:38Speaker 5: That you just changed it to a clasp.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Fish don't have a clause. Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Fish don't have claws, they don't have a clause.
- 42:45Speaker 6: I starfish kind of have beaks, and so I was
- 42:47Speaker 6: thinking kind of when it comes to birds, birds have
- 42:49Speaker 6: beaks and claws, and so it was just a little
- 42:52Speaker 6: I'm not gonna say it's the best joke, and I
- 42:53Speaker 6: wanted to tell you guys, actually, oh my gosh, gosh,
- 42:56Speaker 6: oh gosh, it's so funny for you.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Well, here's another punch up.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Maggie Smith's Grandma Fish and al Pacino as puffer fish
- 43:05Speaker 3: having that little fun convo right before they send little
- 43:08Speaker 3: fish off.
- 43:09Speaker 4: Oh, let's play your version if you don't.
- 43:11Speaker 5: Listen to me. I'm gonna blow up. Here we go,
- 43:15Speaker 5: and again with your puffing.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Okay, so we punched that up to.
- 43:20Speaker 1: If you don't get out of my face, I'm gonna
- 43:24Speaker 1: puff up like a puffer fish.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 43:28Speaker 6: Oh gosh, go go go.
- 43:33Speaker 5: And it's funny. It's so funny. Yes, it's really much.
- 43:39Speaker 5: It's really really funny, guys, it's very funny, good stuff.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Can I just say, I mean, you guys should be
- 43:43Speaker 6: writing your own stuff, you know, like I mean, I
- 43:46Speaker 6: really we're happy to work.
- 43:47Speaker 1: On this without I mean, without your structure. I don't
- 43:51Speaker 1: know how we could make something like this.
- 43:53Speaker 3: We're just saying, we're basically just putting Act one, Act two,
- 43:56Speaker 3: Act three x four x five, just.
- 43:58Speaker 6: A lot of changes there. You might as well just
- 44:01Speaker 6: take credit, or you should at least you stand up.
- 44:03Speaker 5: You guys thought of doing O.
- 44:05Speaker 2: God, no, I've actually talked about it.
- 44:08Speaker 1: But I mean, with our schedules, it's a little tough,
- 44:12Speaker 1: but we have.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Maybe in the new year, give.
- 44:16Speaker 5: Us a joke, Give us a joke if you guys
- 44:18Speaker 5: are working.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Okay, So we do sort of a bod build thing.
- 44:20Speaker 1: We're we're bouncing off of each other.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I'm really embarrassed. Here we go.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Okay, which which which bit should we do? Should we
- 44:26Speaker 2: do the one about the should we do the Christmas bit?
- 44:29Speaker 4: I love the Christmas?
- 44:30Speaker 5: Okay, let's do the.
- 44:33Speaker 4: Christmas Christmas?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Say, sister, you heard the thing about Christmas recently?
- 44:37Speaker 4: No, I haven't heard. What do you mean about Christmas?
- 44:40Speaker 2: Apparently? The trees up in flames?
- 44:43Speaker 4: Oh, club Bamo, Club Bamo. I'll tell you something I
- 44:45Speaker 4: want to put up in flames of that burger case.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Oh, sister, you're obsessed with that burger case, almost as
- 44:52Speaker 1: obsessed if I am with you.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Grant.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Oh sister, you guys stop talking about Grant.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Stop talking about o.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Sister, My sister, you better stop talking about burger king.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I want to fuck you Grant, but I can't because
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm a virgine.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Mary.
- 45:10Speaker 4: You can't be a virgin of Wan of your grand
- 45:12Speaker 4: when I.
- 45:14Speaker 5: Want to take down that corporation burgercat. That is so funny.
- 45:18Speaker 6: So you guys are doing kind of a thing, didn't say.
- 45:23Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, one time, very good stand of it.
- 45:27Speaker 2: That's the Christmas in our stand up.
- 45:29Speaker 5: I'll tell you what I've never seen anything like that.
- 45:33Speaker 6: One of a guy, you guys went up at Flappers
- 45:36Speaker 6: or some one specific like classic joke structure.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Just say, you guys have to.
- 45:45Speaker 6: You guys have to put that up because I've never
- 45:47Speaker 6: seen anything like that.
- 45:49Speaker 5: Oh we got I would have you guys come over.
- 45:51Speaker 6: I'd runt out of theater and have all of our
- 45:53Speaker 6: friends come and watch it.
- 45:55Speaker 2: It really funny. Do you guys do stand ups?
- 45:57Speaker 5: No? No, no, not at all. We just we're right.
- 46:00Speaker 5: We're writers. We are writers.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Else, what do you have to do in your free time? Like,
- 46:03Speaker 4: do you have a hobby.
- 46:05Speaker 6: Well, I've gotten really into gym collecting. I buy gems
- 46:09Speaker 6: online and all sorts of stuff. And I also just
- 46:12Speaker 6: built an uh indoor trampoline in.
- 46:14Speaker 5: My living room. Very fun right in the living room.
- 46:17Speaker 5: It's really fun.
- 46:18Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 46:21Speaker 5: It's been fun.
- 46:22Speaker 6: I mean it's been I can't wait to move out
- 46:24Speaker 6: of my one bedroom in Atwater, but it's fun to
- 46:26Speaker 6: kind of bounce you away.
- 46:27Speaker 2: You do have franchises, I think you're ready.
- 46:32Speaker 4: You're freaking franchising cats out of the bag.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Before we move on, I just want to bring up
- 46:39Speaker 3: one thing, and this is gonna be a big announcement.
- 46:41Speaker 3: We've waited right until the end. You guys, the very
- 46:44Speaker 3: big fanatic fans of Swedish Fish are going to be
- 46:47Speaker 3: really excited when they see a couple of special people
- 46:50Speaker 3: in these movies, the very very unknown, special rare Swedish fish,
- 46:57Speaker 3: alternative spinoff candies, the other candies that fall under the brand.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's true, it's a family secret. But in the
- 47:04Speaker 1: factory in Sweden where these were produced.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Uh so they are. We we do the not originally
- 47:14Speaker 4: outsour Now it's just because it just was. The mail
- 47:20Speaker 4: was the mail was a mess.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Yeah, the mail was a mess what we were doing
