- 0:20Speaker 1: first season of Dubai. The two men in twenty nineteen
- 0:24Speaker 1: and have a nineteen year age gap. Is that true?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 0:28Speaker 3: That's true? Actually, yes, I met Karla when I was
- 0:30Speaker 3: twenty four antil it was forty three.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Fantastic. We have something in common. We both like older women.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I like it. I like it.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Well, that's interesting because I can't wait to hear about
- 0:44Speaker 1: your take. I know, for me, it's never really faced
- 0:47Speaker 1: me the age gap or age difference in all my life.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You know, I've dated older women most of my life
- 0:54Speaker 1: and to me is just a number. It really is
- 0:56Speaker 1: about how you live mentally, physically, emotionally. Right, So it
- 1:01Speaker 1: sounds like you have a great connection with Caroline, So Sergio,
- 1:05Speaker 1: welcome to our podcast. First off, before we get into
- 1:10Speaker 1: the whole Bravo with things, let's get to know you.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Better tell us about who surged you is we know
- 1:15Speaker 1: a little bit about you. You used to play soccer,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and you lived or you were born in Spain, so
- 1:21Speaker 1: tell us a little bit about you.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So basically, well, thank you so much for having me.
- 1:26Speaker 3: You know, I'm very happy to be here today, and
- 1:28Speaker 3: I'm so sorry for all the ones listening, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 3: for what's happening in La is terrible. You know, so
- 1:36Speaker 3: basically just about myself a little bit. I grew up
- 1:38Speaker 3: in Spain, in a small town next to the capital
- 1:41Speaker 3: in Madrid, and you know, start playing soccer when I
- 1:44Speaker 3: was eight years old, and then Real Marie knocked the
- 1:47Speaker 3: doors off my home at twelve, and I, you know,
- 1:51Speaker 3: everything has spit up a by quickly on my life.
- 1:53Speaker 3: So it changed everything very earliest eighteen life. So at
- 1:55Speaker 3: fifteen I became professional with Real Madrid, and my life
- 2:00Speaker 3: I've kind of changed a little bit, you know, because
- 2:01Speaker 3: I didn't really have an or my childhood. I you know,
- 2:04Speaker 3: I was just playing soccer the night and that continue
- 2:09Speaker 3: all the way up to you know, I was lucky
- 2:11Speaker 3: enough to train with the first team, so I got
- 2:12Speaker 3: to know all the biggest players in the world. Christian
- 2:15Speaker 3: Ronald though, you know, some of the biggest ones, so
- 2:17Speaker 3: it was an amazing experience. And then from there I
- 2:22Speaker 3: kind of moved to the US play a little bit
- 2:24Speaker 3: in the US. Before that, I played in Europe a
- 2:26Speaker 3: little bit and then but basically I played soccer until
- 2:28Speaker 3: I was twenty two and then ended up in Los
- 2:34Speaker 3: Angeles because I was going to play soccer there, but
- 2:37Speaker 3: at the end, ended up, you know, just kind of
- 2:39Speaker 3: like retiring from my professional career as a soccer player.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Ended up doing the Masters in International Business focus in
- 2:48Speaker 3: Media and Global Communication in UCI New Probid. That's why
- 2:53Speaker 3: I actually met Caroline and kind of you know, I
- 2:57Speaker 3: met Caroline when I was twenty four and my life
- 3:00Speaker 3: changed a little bit. That's kind of very very fast,
- 3:04Speaker 3: you know, forward summer ese of my life.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah, well, let's get into the nitty gritty. Tell us.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Do you have any siblings.
- 3:12Speaker 3: So I have a younger sister, three years younger than me,
- 3:16Speaker 3: Sis in Spain. We used to be extremely close. We
- 3:19Speaker 3: still do, but you know, because I kind of moved,
- 3:21Speaker 3: you know, from home when I was John and I
- 3:24Speaker 3: started traveling a lot, so we kind of, you know,
- 3:27Speaker 3: we stay a bit distant for a while, but we
- 3:29Speaker 3: always keep the connection. I'm very so I'm coming from
- 3:31Speaker 3: a very traditional Catholic family, which is very, very different
- 3:36Speaker 3: than Caroline because you know, when she grew ups, he
- 3:38Speaker 3: went to boarding school at the age of six, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 3: and she never really spent time with the parents until eighteen.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Me is completely different. You know, I didn't have really
- 3:48Speaker 3: any friends. It was only my parents, you know, grew
- 3:50Speaker 3: up just you know, my parents that used to drive
- 3:52Speaker 3: me every time to training. So it was just a
- 3:55Speaker 3: very very close relationship with them. So and with my sister. Well,
- 4:00Speaker 3: you know, I remember my dad. My dad used to
- 4:02Speaker 3: work in Cicon, Bali, so you know, he used to
- 4:06Speaker 3: travel a lot, but he used to just just make
- 4:09Speaker 3: trips around my soccer schedule. So he used to pop
- 4:11Speaker 3: into places just to see me play. So we we
- 4:14Speaker 3: we're very close always.
- 4:16Speaker 2: How are your parents? Are your parents in Spain still Sergia?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yeah, so actually my dad recently just moved to Bali,
- 4:23Speaker 3: Indonesia because I'm building a hotel there, so he's he's
- 4:26Speaker 3: running the project, so to work with him. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 3: So it's amazing. Actually had life tuning too the other
- 4:33Speaker 3: way because you know, when I grew up, I used
- 4:35Speaker 3: to I mean I still do, but I used to,
- 4:37Speaker 3: you know, my dad used to teach me everything. Look
- 4:39Speaker 3: after my dad kind of like he used to be
- 4:41Speaker 3: the one guide in me life. And now he retired
- 4:44Speaker 3: and he's like, look, I it would be a pleasure
- 4:47Speaker 3: just to kind of like work for you and and
- 4:49Speaker 3: run up one of your businesses. So it's it's fantastic
- 4:51Speaker 3: to be honest, and I love it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So I'm curious, how did you get into soccer? Why soccer?
- 5:01Speaker 3: You know, in Spain when you are little, you kind
- 5:03Speaker 3: of just you know, or you play soccer, you play tennis,
- 5:06Speaker 3: let's say. You know, it's just kind of for those two.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And I remember I used to have always a soccer
- 5:11Speaker 3: ball here with me. It was just my best friend,
- 5:14Speaker 3: you know. I was just taking it out, was you know.
- 5:17Speaker 3: And then I kind of so how everything happened. It
- 5:20Speaker 3: was I started playing soccering as a small you know,
- 5:23Speaker 3: just a team in my village. I was. I remember
- 5:29Speaker 3: in a tournament Nike was there, Nike the brand, and
- 5:33Speaker 3: they were doing a challenge that was Nike the Chance,
- 5:35Speaker 3: which was finding the best soccer player in Spain in
- 5:38Speaker 3: each position at the age of twelve. So I started
- 5:42Speaker 3: just I got into it. I kind of just passed
- 5:45Speaker 3: all the the kind of the tournaments and stuff, and
- 5:47Speaker 3: I became the best soccer player on the midfielder on
- 5:50Speaker 3: the left side in Spain at thirteen, so that kind
- 5:54Speaker 3: of knocked the doors of Real Maday a little bit.
- 5:58Speaker 3: And then that was kind of how I got into it. Slowly.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Then I went to London with Ramari for a tournament
- 6:04Speaker 3: and then slowly, you know, kind of just started with
- 6:07Speaker 3: a very basic contract in Drama Ri. It was just
- 6:09Speaker 3: one year and then I did very well. I scored
- 6:12Speaker 3: I remember sixteen goals that year. There was a guy
- 6:16Speaker 3: from the Canary Islands I was used to playing the
- 6:19Speaker 3: same position as me, and then the coach just test
- 6:23Speaker 3: me and then you know, I did very well that
- 6:25Speaker 3: year and then they signed me professional. The year after,
- 6:27Speaker 3: I signed five year professional with them professional. I was
- 6:31Speaker 3: I was very very young.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Sergio, what would you say was your biggest
- 6:35Speaker 4: setback in your soccer career and how did you recover
- 6:40Speaker 4: from it?
- 6:42Speaker 3: You know, it's very interesting actually soccer because well people
- 6:45Speaker 3: only see the surface, right, so people only see the
- 6:47Speaker 3: zero points one percent of the players that they make it. Actually,
- 6:50Speaker 3: but I was lucky enough to be there to go
- 6:52Speaker 3: through everything and then become professional and trained with one
- 6:55Speaker 3: of the biggest players in the world. And then it
- 6:57Speaker 3: was kind of like it was taken away from me
- 7:00Speaker 3: a little bit because I didn't really have a team,
- 7:02Speaker 3: you know, a place in the first team. The second
- 7:04Speaker 3: team was closed, so I was in a very tough
- 7:06Speaker 3: position in Dramad, so I had to I broke one
- 7:08Speaker 3: year contract with Ramri. With was a bit crazy and
- 7:11Speaker 3: everybody told me not to do, but I was just
- 7:13Speaker 3: not very happy and I I prioritized happiness than you know,
- 7:18Speaker 3: money or anything else, and I kind of just broke
- 7:21Speaker 3: the contract left Marie. So it was a bit difficult,
- 7:24Speaker 3: to be honest, I stay I think like two years
- 7:27Speaker 3: without watching any games. It was a bit you know,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I suffered a lot when I was little, you know,
- 7:32Speaker 3: because you cannot give your whole life to that, and
- 7:35Speaker 3: it was kind of you know. I remember I was
- 7:37Speaker 3: training with st Ronaldo on a Thursday, and then I
- 7:41Speaker 3: broke the contract, and then on a Monday, the market
- 7:43Speaker 3: was close, so then I didn't have a team on
- 7:45Speaker 3: a Monday. So it was a very difficult moment because
- 7:48Speaker 3: I didn't really know what to do. So then the
- 7:50Speaker 3: quickest way for me was to move to Iceland. So
- 7:53Speaker 3: I went to Iceland to one of you know, Radiably,
- 7:57Speaker 3: which was one of the biggest teams in the country,
- 7:59Speaker 3: and I played there to stay feed. I had a
- 8:02Speaker 3: two year contract there and I stayed five months because
- 8:04Speaker 3: it was very cold and it was just not for me.
- 8:08Speaker 3: It was a good experience though, you know. So then
- 8:09Speaker 3: I kind of use the name I got from soccer
- 8:12Speaker 3: just to kind of like travel over and you know,
- 8:13Speaker 3: playing different places, and you know, at the end, I
- 8:16Speaker 3: ended up moving to the US. Played in New York Cosmos,
- 8:20Speaker 3: which was a good experience. Yeah, very good experience, lived
- 8:22Speaker 3: in New York. And then at the same time I
- 8:24Speaker 3: was getting my masters in my master's my degree international business.
- 8:28Speaker 3: So I was just I want to pay the university,
- 8:30Speaker 3: trying to do exam. So it was just a bit
- 8:32Speaker 3: trying to manage both things and then moving to Los Angeles.
- 8:37Speaker 3: But my dad always told me, look, you can be soon, Ronaldo,
- 8:40Speaker 3: but you have to have your backup, which is your
- 8:43Speaker 3: degree and your masters, you know, because no one really,
- 8:46Speaker 3: you know, no one really can't tell what's going to happen.
- 8:49Speaker 3: And most of my friends that they were actually huge
- 8:51Speaker 3: stars when they were little. They were playing in a
- 8:53Speaker 3: Spanish election, so many years they were you know, they
- 8:56Speaker 3: were meant to be the biggest thing. All of a
- 8:57Speaker 3: sudden they ended up you know, none really make in it.
- 9:00Speaker 3: And the guys that were playing with me in the
- 9:02Speaker 3: third team of Real mari and they were not actually playing,
- 9:05Speaker 3: they were on the bench. They're actually now you know,
- 9:08Speaker 3: some of them in the first team, Marie making million.
- 9:11Speaker 3: So it's just very unpredictable and very very tough a sport.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Did your dad have a huge influence in conttinue into soccer.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I mean it sounds like he supported you through the
- 9:28Speaker 1: whole experience.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Actually, my dad was the one who told me not
- 9:34Speaker 3: to get into it because he was not a big fan.
- 9:36Speaker 3: To be honest, he was not really a big fan.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And you know, because how it works if you play
- 9:42Speaker 3: professional you cannot get a scholarship right in the US
- 9:45Speaker 3: if you play professional in Europe. So before getting into
- 9:48Speaker 3: Rama Rid, all our planning was to move to San Francisco.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I was going to Scure University, you know, just the
- 9:53Speaker 3: school and just kind of like move life there. But
- 9:56Speaker 3: then Real made knocked the doors very early, you know,
- 9:58Speaker 3: when I was, you know, fourteen fifteen, so it was
- 10:01Speaker 3: just kind of, oh my god, what do I do?
- 10:02Speaker 3: So I just move and stay here, and you know.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Those are big decisions you got to make at that
- 10:07Speaker 1: age five.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Yeah, and now you're now you're building hotels. How do
- 10:13Speaker 4: you know, how do you go from you know, soccer
- 10:15Speaker 4: and now you're still young.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I mean you're you're not even are.
- 10:18Speaker 3: You thirty yet? I'm Saturday thirty actually just turned thirty, and.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Now you're building hotels. So how does that happen?
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:26Speaker 3: I mean I'm always been very entrepreneurial. You know, I
- 10:28Speaker 3: love business, and I remember the first morning I met
- 10:31Speaker 3: with soccer, it was just I was just throw, you know,
- 10:33Speaker 3: throwing it in places just to try to make things.
- 10:35Speaker 3: And this I'm always have like that side a perform soccer,
- 10:38Speaker 3: which is just very driven, you know side of me,
- 10:40Speaker 3: which I love. So, you know, after I think maybe
- 10:46Speaker 3: like the last three years, we've been heavily invested in
- 10:49Speaker 3: the real estate here in Dubai and we're actually loving
- 10:51Speaker 3: at you know, we're doing lots of one two bedroom
- 10:53Speaker 3: apartments and renovated and stuff. Right after Kobe, we went
- 10:57Speaker 3: to Bali and we actually tried to build a hotel
- 10:59Speaker 3: here and it was just a bit tough to get
- 11:01Speaker 3: the land. We had like some problems, you know, we
- 11:05Speaker 3: say no to Dubai. So we went to Bali summertime
- 11:09Speaker 3: two and a half years ago.
- 11:11Speaker 1: One.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I just saw the market. It was super interesting, you know,
- 11:13Speaker 3: they are wis where, you know, very attractive, and I said, look,
- 11:17Speaker 3: let's just try to build a villa for a well
- 11:19Speaker 3: selves here. And then slowly the villa got into maybe
- 11:22Speaker 3: a bigger real a bigger villa. Now it's kind of
- 11:24Speaker 3: like a small little boutique hotel.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Nice.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's kind of like yeah, yeah, but it's
- 11:29Speaker 3: like a fun it's a fun project. You know, it's
- 11:31Speaker 3: like a dream. We always wanted to have something that,
- 11:35Speaker 3: you know, it's just like a place where you know,
- 11:37Speaker 3: we're just gonna go the summers there. I wanted to
- 11:39Speaker 3: find a reason to go to Bali because we love
- 11:41Speaker 3: the island, you know, so this is kind of like
- 11:43Speaker 3: the reason.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Nice and tell me.
- 11:46Speaker 4: So, you know, obviously good looking guy soccer player young,
- 11:52Speaker 4: you know, you're probably thinking, you know, most people that
- 11:54Speaker 4: have those that all that stuff going for him are
- 11:57Speaker 4: probably not thinking to get get married. That that young,
- 12:01Speaker 4: and then you know they're probably thinking, you know, I'm
- 12:04Speaker 4: going to mess around for a bit with some young ones,
- 12:07Speaker 4: and you obviously do the opposite, right you get married young,
- 12:11Speaker 4: and then you get with somebody that's pretty old.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Which is pretty not older than you, which.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You want to get balls.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I meant.
- 12:20Speaker 3: A little bit, a little bit, I mean, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 3: because you know, to be honest, you know, from I
- 12:27Speaker 3: could say from nineteen to twenty three, I really have
- 12:31Speaker 3: like a crazy life, you know, and I believe you
- 12:33Speaker 3: have to do it all before you know what you want. Yes,
- 12:38Speaker 3: I did that in life. A lot of people they
- 12:41Speaker 3: kind of go through different faces in life. I think
- 12:43Speaker 3: I did the face that I had to experience when
- 12:46Speaker 3: I was very young, and you know, I knew what
- 12:49Speaker 3: I wanted, you know, after doing all that, So I
- 12:53Speaker 3: had like that busy and clear and I think, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 3: that's why when I'm in Caroline, I was twenty four,
- 12:57Speaker 3: but all my circle, you know, all my friends and everybody,
- 13:01Speaker 3: you know, they were like forty five fifty because of business,
- 13:04Speaker 3: because it's just't I didn't really have people from my
- 13:06Speaker 3: eight and I think when when I met her, I
- 13:09Speaker 3: really felt she was you know, maybe thirty three, no
- 13:12Speaker 3: forty three, you know, like thirty, you know, and she
- 13:15Speaker 3: was just a bit older. And and also it was
- 13:18Speaker 3: a bit tough term city on because I met her
- 13:20Speaker 3: with no kids, right, so we started as friends, and
- 13:23Speaker 3: you know, I fell in love with her as an individual.
- 13:25Speaker 3: But then you know, I didn't know, let's see carry
- 13:29Speaker 3: a backpack, let's say with kids, you know, which was
- 13:31Speaker 3: a big thing, you know, right, well, let's say that
- 13:33Speaker 3: was like a whole you know, let's let's dig in
- 13:36Speaker 3: to that. Tell us about when you met, how you
- 13:39Speaker 3: met and what went through your mind. Was it love
- 13:42Speaker 3: at first sight or did you take a while to
- 13:46Speaker 3: get to know her before you fell in love? I mean,
- 13:49Speaker 3: I definitely. I was living in Newporvitch at that moment,
- 13:51Speaker 3: and I flew from Europe and I remember this girl
- 13:54Speaker 3: actually who I think, you know, she liked me or something.
- 13:57Speaker 3: She was like, look, there's this event happening in you
- 14:00Speaker 3: Propeating Fashion Island hotel. You should go. And I'm like, look,
- 14:04Speaker 3: I'm not gonna go. I probably say ten times I
- 14:07Speaker 3: don't want to go.
- 14:09Speaker 4: And then the way it happens, though, right when you
- 14:11Speaker 4: don't know, somewhere I lead someone.
- 14:13Speaker 3: I'm telling you. Literally, I was like, okay, I'm not
- 14:15Speaker 3: gonna go. This is just not for me. And then
- 14:17Speaker 3: he said, look, it's very interesting, it's about business. You
- 14:19Speaker 3: should come. I'm like okay. So then all the time
- 14:21Speaker 3: I called my friend and all the time my friend
- 14:23Speaker 3: was covering the red carpet of the event, and I'm like, okay, great,
- 14:26Speaker 3: so then I will pop in. You know, it's familis
- 14:28Speaker 3: from my house. So then he was in the VIP
- 14:31Speaker 3: area and he handed me a champagne and then he
- 14:33Speaker 3: left for a moment. I literally turned back and Caroline was,
- 14:36Speaker 3: you know, back to back with me, and we kind
- 14:39Speaker 3: of look at each other. We click a little bit.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I was like, it was just like a weird feeling.
- 14:43Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:43Speaker 3: We didn't really talk the match, but we kind of like,
- 14:45Speaker 3: you know, we connected somehow. And then all the time
- 14:48Speaker 3: I ended up staying in the Holy event. It was
- 14:50Speaker 3: Caroline's event, so it was like a stand up podcast
- 14:53Speaker 3: he was doing about women's empowerment, and you know, he
- 14:57Speaker 3: was just very fun in the state. He was just saying, like,
- 15:00Speaker 3: you know, I don't know, like I'm a minor three
- 15:02Speaker 3: these people in the front row, You're gonna watch more
- 15:04Speaker 3: because you pay more the other guys Vagina watch and
- 15:07Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, who is this like woman
- 15:09Speaker 3: talking about by Gaina here? This is so weird, Like
- 15:12Speaker 3: it was just it was just very funny. So I
- 15:13Speaker 3: was like, Okay, I'm gonna stay. Ended up staying the
- 15:16Speaker 3: whole way and then very funny. So everybody when I
- 15:20Speaker 3: was leaving, everybody's sitting in the stairs, I say bye
- 15:24Speaker 3: to everybody, and I thought, it's kind of like Caroline
- 15:26Speaker 3: a little bit on the back and I am living.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And then she said aloud, oh my ohod, my future
- 15:30Speaker 3: husband is living, but like southing funny. But you know,
- 15:34Speaker 3: she said it the first night that we met. And
- 15:37Speaker 3: then you know, I was like, oh my god, I
- 15:39Speaker 3: wanted to come back, you know, but I didn't. I
- 15:41Speaker 3: didn't come back, and I texted my friend and all
- 15:44Speaker 3: the time, you know, there was like an after party,
- 15:46Speaker 3: so all of us we met at the end. And
- 15:48Speaker 3: then that's kind of how I how we connected a
- 15:50Speaker 3: little bit, and then we became friends and you know,
- 15:53Speaker 3: same circle of friends slowly and then kind of like
- 15:55Speaker 3: got to know each other. But in the beginning, I
- 15:58Speaker 3: mean I definitely felt something different. It was kind of
- 16:00Speaker 3: like a it was just a feeling that I've never
- 16:03Speaker 3: felt before, let's say, you know, and it's crazy that
- 16:06Speaker 3: she said that, you know, oh my god, my future
- 16:09Speaker 3: husband is leaving. And then four years after we go martered.
- 16:11Speaker 3: So that's it's pretty crazy. You know.
- 16:14Speaker 4: How long did it take you guys to to actually
- 16:17Speaker 4: connect or hook up? I should say, because when did
- 16:22Speaker 4: you guys sleep together?
- 16:24Speaker 1: But it could be when the relationship.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, actually, I mean we were we were like because
- 16:34Speaker 3: he was in la and I was in Newburbs, remember,
- 16:36Speaker 3: so you know, and seeing it stayed that loone because
- 16:38Speaker 3: he was living there. So I think after like you know,
- 16:41Speaker 3: maybe a week or something, you know, we ended up
- 16:44Speaker 3: like all the time meeting altogether. I think it was
- 16:46Speaker 3: in soho house in Malibu or something, and then with
- 16:48Speaker 3: some other friends and then you know, I don't know,
- 16:50Speaker 3: another time. So it slowly kind of like we were
- 16:53Speaker 3: somehow we were like seeing each other like in different places,
- 16:57Speaker 3: you know, and then we kind of just you know,
- 16:59Speaker 3: got gone down. Then at the end, this is very small,
- 17:03Speaker 3: you know, so we were just same group of friends
- 17:05Speaker 3: and seeing you some of my friends, so just you know,
- 17:09Speaker 3: slowly keep talking talking talking, I don't remember exactly when
- 17:11Speaker 3: we you know, he's the first time, but you know,
- 17:14Speaker 3: you know, it sounds and it took some time. It
- 17:18Speaker 3: took some time. Yeah, I mean it was it was.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It was not like, you know, straight away, but I think,
- 17:24Speaker 3: you know, we definitely, you know, we felt something for
- 17:26Speaker 3: each other from the beginning. I think, you know, it
- 17:28Speaker 3: was just a bit of like a crazy thing because
- 17:31Speaker 3: you know, we did annoy anything about each other, and
- 17:34Speaker 3: you know, and you know, I had to lie about
- 17:37Speaker 3: my age a little bit because you know, I knew
- 17:39Speaker 3: she was older, but then her friends saw me. Look,
- 17:41Speaker 3: you know she's she's you know, almost forty five. I'm like,
- 17:45Speaker 3: what almost forty five years old. I was like, oh
- 17:48Speaker 3: my god. And then she kept asking my age and
- 17:52Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I'm around thirty. I kept saying
- 17:54Speaker 3: around thirty.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I just left it.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I just left. I left. I left. I understand, I think,
- 17:59Speaker 3: like three months already, you know, a bit later on,
- 18:03Speaker 3: then you know, she asked me for my passport.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Oh so it's like, oh.
- 18:08Speaker 3: My god, I just couldn't lie anymore. I'm like, look,
- 18:11Speaker 3: I'm a bit younger. And then I'm like, I'm twenty,
- 18:15Speaker 3: and I kind of say twenty eighth, and he was like,
- 18:17Speaker 3: oh my god, and you're twenty eight. I'm going to jail.
- 18:20Speaker 3: And then I'm like, look i'm forty four, I'm twenty four.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I kind of do it. And she was just she
- 18:26Speaker 3: was shocked, to be honest, he was like, I mean,
- 18:29Speaker 3: did she went through We went through a lot together,
- 18:31Speaker 3: see got I mean, look, I never really lie honestly,
- 18:36Speaker 3: because I say around thirty, it could be like, you know,
- 18:39Speaker 3: closer to twenty. But you know, I just left it there.
- 18:41Speaker 3: But you know, I think, you know, I think because
- 18:44Speaker 3: she saw that I was genuine and I you know,
- 18:47Speaker 3: I didn't really care how you know, who she was,
- 18:50Speaker 3: you know, have like the key to anything. Yes, it
- 18:53Speaker 3: was just a pure connection human to human. And I
- 18:55Speaker 3: think that's why it worked out very well from the
- 18:58Speaker 3: beginning because honestly, see, this is like a friend to me.
- 19:01Speaker 3: This is my best friend. You know, we talk about everything.
- 19:04Speaker 3: You know, even if I see a good looking at
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, only look at that, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 3: it's so hot. So I think that's it's just like
- 19:11Speaker 3: a very very strong connection that we have with each other.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It sounds like you have a level of trust that you,
- 19:17Speaker 1: it's hard to find with people in general. Yeah, that's
- 19:21Speaker 1: kind of that's kind of the same feeling. What is
- 19:23Speaker 1: the same feeling I have with my wife and I
- 19:26Speaker 1: had the same experience when we first met. It was
- 19:29Speaker 1: the first time I've ever experienced what people call a
- 19:32Speaker 1: love at first sight. It's just this weird feeling. You're
- 19:35Speaker 1: exactly in stars and you don't know what's happening, and
- 19:39Speaker 1: it's it's really weird. But yeah, it's I know exactly
- 19:43Speaker 1: what you're going through. What you went through, that's awesome.
- 19:45Speaker 3: And when she said, oh my god, my husband is leaving,
- 19:48Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, I really want to
- 19:50Speaker 3: come back, but I couldn't. I wanted to be cool,
- 19:53Speaker 3: so I was like, oh my god, I'm so much
- 19:55Speaker 3: younger than I need to be the boss here. I'm
- 19:57Speaker 3: like I need to I like, you know, I don't
- 19:59Speaker 3: care or anything. And then, you know, I went to
- 20:01Speaker 3: the ballet and I test my friend like, look, I'm
- 20:03Speaker 3: thinking to come back, you know whatever, and it's a comeback,
- 20:05Speaker 3: and I came back, you know, but I know the
- 20:07Speaker 3: feeling is, you know, it's this it's a crazy feeling.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know how can explain it,
- 20:12Speaker 3: you know, but it's it's a it's a weird connection,
- 20:14Speaker 3: you know. I think it's a clear example how eight
- 20:17Speaker 3: is honestly a number like you know, we I you know,
- 20:20Speaker 3: I met so many women, you know, my entire life,
- 20:23Speaker 3: and I never had that connection I had with Caroline.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's love.
- 20:27Speaker 3: And we we fight because everybody fights, you know, we
- 20:30Speaker 3: fight a lot, but then we love a lot, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 3: and it's yeah, and I think you have to have
- 20:34Speaker 3: that you know, combination.
- 20:44Speaker 1: One of the things that I've always thought about with
- 20:46Speaker 1: you know, the big question is how do you make
- 20:49Speaker 1: your relationship last so long long? And for me, it's
- 20:54Speaker 1: not necessarily the ability to love or the connection you
- 20:57Speaker 1: have with the person, but the ability to get through
- 21:00Speaker 1: the hard times, the challenges, you know, when life throws
- 21:05Speaker 1: curveballs at you and you're both you know, trying to
- 21:08Speaker 1: figure out how to get through life. That's the real
- 21:10Speaker 1: determining factor of can you live the rest of your
- 21:13Speaker 1: life with this person? And if you can't, at least
- 21:16Speaker 1: you know, you know, but yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 3: The fun times, for example, the fun times, I say, yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 3: and I brought me for example, when I got to
- 21:23Speaker 3: know her, it was only fun times. So I never
- 21:26Speaker 3: really experienced anything difficult because it was look see how
- 21:30Speaker 3: things how I think we were just traveling, you know,
- 21:32Speaker 3: the war, meeting different places in different people, and it
- 21:35Speaker 3: was just a fun journey, very exciting. And then when
- 21:39Speaker 3: reality hits is when I arrived to Dubai, because you know,
- 21:42Speaker 3: there were three kids in bath, there was an excassman,
- 21:44Speaker 3: there was so many things going on. I was like,
- 21:47Speaker 3: oh my god, what am I doing? And at some
- 21:49Speaker 3: point I honestly told Carlin, look, I don't think I'm
- 21:51Speaker 3: going to be able to do this, you know, because
- 21:54Speaker 3: that is, you know, there was you know, see has
- 21:57Speaker 3: three kids, you know, twins, and one of the twins
- 22:02Speaker 3: what it was, and it's still very attached to Caroline,
- 22:05Speaker 3: you know. So he's very protective and he's home in
- 22:07Speaker 3: the beginning, has had a replacement that so it was
- 22:10Speaker 3: very difficult for me. I used to come into bed
- 22:12Speaker 3: and he used to push me out of the bed.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I used to sleep, you know, in another bedroom in
- 22:16Speaker 3: the floor.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I had a.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Completely different relationship when he was with us than when
- 22:21Speaker 3: he was not with us, and it was very difficult
- 22:24Speaker 3: for me because I'm like, oh my god, is he
- 22:25Speaker 3: ever going to change. How How am I going to
- 22:27Speaker 3: be able to have an oral relationship with Caroline? You know?
- 22:30Speaker 3: How they so when I met them, there were eight
- 22:35Speaker 3: years so yeah, eight years so yeah. But he he
- 22:38Speaker 3: was very I think a bedding secure, you know, with everything,
- 22:41Speaker 3: and I think, what really kind of like, you know
- 22:44Speaker 3: it really like you know, made his personality so much
- 22:49Speaker 3: more you know, exposed. He was just the fact that
- 22:53Speaker 3: you know, Caroline just kind of like, you know, met
- 22:56Speaker 3: another man and I wanted to take that position his head,
- 23:00Speaker 3: in his head, it was like, oh my god, you know,
- 23:02Speaker 3: who is this guy? You know, young guy, you know,
- 23:04Speaker 3: trying to do this? And so it was it was
- 23:06Speaker 3: very difficult to be honest, even Caroline. You know Caroline,
- 23:10Speaker 3: when when everything went through like see what to the hospital,
- 23:12Speaker 3: I mean, we went through like crazy stuff, and I
- 23:16Speaker 3: think that's why all those things that we went through,
- 23:19Speaker 3: it really built up, you know, the relationship, and he
- 23:21Speaker 3: made us very strong.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Well, yeah, certainly the challenging parts of life build your
- 23:29Speaker 1: strength and build your relationship. Did the ex contribute or
- 23:35Speaker 1: help in the transition to help you guys be you know,
- 23:38Speaker 1: a good couple? In other words? Was he an asshole?
- 23:41Speaker 1: Or was he supporting.
- 23:43Speaker 3: No, he was.
- 23:44Speaker 1: He was.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I mean, he was an asshole in the beginning, which
- 23:47Speaker 3: we you know, I completely understand because in his head
- 23:50Speaker 3: it was like, look, who is this, you know, young guy,
- 23:54Speaker 3: ex footballer coming into here and like, you know, just
- 23:58Speaker 3: taking my family. Like yeah, So he hated me completely
- 24:01Speaker 3: for a year. So it was a very difficult situation.
- 24:05Speaker 3: And then the kids as well, they took his position,
- 24:08Speaker 3: so then you know, he was feeling information to the kids,
- 24:11Speaker 3: and the kids were you know. So it was just
- 24:12Speaker 3: a very complicated thing and obviously no one really knew
- 24:16Speaker 3: about it, but we just went through it and we
- 24:18Speaker 3: knew that we're going to come out the other side.
- 24:19Speaker 3: And it is actually amazing how after now six years,
- 24:24Speaker 3: I think together yesterday we went to Coldplay and it
- 24:28Speaker 3: was the ex husband, it was Caroline, the three kids,
- 24:33Speaker 3: and or assistant actually all together and I was like,
- 24:36Speaker 3: oh my god, it is crazy how life. You know,
- 24:38Speaker 3: time heals everything. I'm like, I never thought I was
- 24:41Speaker 3: going to be in a place, you know, even in
- 24:44Speaker 3: a stadium with this other man because he was horrible
- 24:47Speaker 3: to me. But then now we are kind of I
- 24:50Speaker 3: mean we're not friends, but but we are, you know,
- 24:52Speaker 3: we're polite, and I think we can do lots of
- 24:54Speaker 3: stuff together. And you know, and now he's very happy
- 24:57Speaker 3: because he had a girlfriend. So that relating to terms
- 24:59Speaker 3: to load and you know, I think it went through
- 25:02Speaker 3: like a very big down in the beginning, and then
- 25:04Speaker 3: now we came out the other side and and now
- 25:06Speaker 3: we're even going to coshoveles kin all together as well.
- 25:09Speaker 3: So wow, you know, it is it is very good.
- 25:11Speaker 3: You know, it's oh, we're modern family, let's say, you.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Know, yeah, and and that's great for the kids ultimately, Yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 1: because at the end of the day, when it comes
- 25:20Speaker 1: to divorce, it really affects the kids first. And unfortunately
- 25:26Speaker 1: my wife's ex, you know, decided to use the kids
- 25:29Speaker 1: as leverage to try to get to her and hurt her.
- 25:32Speaker 1: So it affects the kids aversually when it happens.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I know, for example, I I'm always going to be second,
- 25:41Speaker 3: you know, when I am with the father, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 3: with the father and the kids. Because for example, even yesterday,
- 25:45Speaker 3: little things in the in the you know, we're in
- 25:47Speaker 3: the scenario yesterday, and I was like I was a
- 25:49Speaker 3: bit bitched tough in the beginning, but you know, I
- 25:51Speaker 3: I you know, we arrange all the seats. You know,
- 25:53Speaker 3: we arrange eight seats for Coldplay. It was an artist
- 25:56Speaker 3: passages incredible, It's sold that completely. So we invited him
- 25:58Speaker 3: because Sacked the song was like, look, I want my father.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I'm like, yes, please bring him. And then we are
- 26:03Speaker 3: sitting in the best, best position, and then the daughter
- 26:06Speaker 3: is like the father goes to get some food. The daughter,
- 26:09Speaker 3: Carolin's daughter is like please can I can you move
- 26:12Speaker 3: because I want my dad here? And I'm like okay,
- 26:15Speaker 3: And then it was like kind of like a bit
- 26:17Speaker 3: you know that you know, we arranged he's aware, guess,
- 26:20Speaker 3: but but I had to move to the worst seat
- 26:23Speaker 3: basically to just leave him the best place. And it
- 26:26Speaker 3: was just a bit, you know, so all those things
- 26:29Speaker 3: are still you know, I'm still struggling a little bit,
- 26:31Speaker 3: but it's normal, I guess. You know.
- 26:33Speaker 1: That's very mature and amazing that you did that. I mean,
- 26:38Speaker 1: that speaks volumes of what kind of man you are.
- 26:41Speaker 1: That's awesome, Surgio.
- 26:43Speaker 3: You know, I don't know, I mean, I did it,
- 26:46Speaker 3: but I was looking at Cal and I'm like, what,
- 26:49Speaker 3: I'm not moving, I'm not moving like this, go, yes, go,
- 26:52Speaker 3: I'm like oh my god. So then you know, I
- 26:54Speaker 3: guess also a big thing that plays you know, you
- 26:58Speaker 3: know where advantage is the ages cup because I kind
- 27:00Speaker 3: of you know, I look after cow and I so
- 27:02Speaker 3: I learned from hair load, you know. So you know,
- 27:04Speaker 3: because he has a lot of more experience on mean life,
- 27:06Speaker 3: and I think that's why we work very well together.
- 27:08Speaker 4: You know, Yeah, that I was going to say that
- 27:11Speaker 4: you get you sort of get the best of both worlds, right,
- 27:14Speaker 4: because you have her wisdom, but she's also beautiful. I mean,
- 27:18Speaker 4: she still looks like she's s thirty, right, So you
- 27:20Speaker 4: get the best of the both worlds because a thirty
- 27:22Speaker 4: ye old normally doesn't have the wisdom. She kind of
- 27:24Speaker 4: looks like a thirty year old and she's got the wisdom.
- 27:27Speaker 4: It's the best of both worlds. My question to you
- 27:30Speaker 4: when you were going through those tough times, how what
- 27:33Speaker 4: made you hold on and not just say I'm out right?
- 27:37Speaker 4: Because you could have easily set them out with all
- 27:39Speaker 4: that chaos that was happening, and it's not like you
- 27:43Speaker 4: couldn't go find another woman, right, But so what made
- 27:45Speaker 4: you hold on? Because again, that's where arrogance can take
- 27:49Speaker 4: over and you're like why am I dealing with this?
- 27:50Speaker 2: I could go find me someone right now.
- 27:53Speaker 1: That's a great question.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Holding on.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a very good question. Actually well kept holding on.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I think I guess that feeling I had for Caroline,
- 28:01Speaker 3: you know, and how you know, I think because I'm
- 28:04Speaker 3: a libras, I'm very loyal and I'm very like you
- 28:07Speaker 3: know when I think because of soccer as well, everything
- 28:09Speaker 3: I went through. When I take a the season, I
- 28:11Speaker 3: take it and I stick to it. And I knew
- 28:14Speaker 3: what I wanted and I knew, you know, I've never
- 28:16Speaker 3: had this connection. And I think a lot of people
- 28:18Speaker 3: they have the mistake of, you know, always want them
- 28:21Speaker 3: more or they think the grass is greener on the
- 28:24Speaker 3: other side or a bit more greener. And I I obviously,
- 28:28Speaker 3: you know, I had always my text of the dream
- 28:31Speaker 3: wife I wanted, which is this, this, this, this, this
- 28:34Speaker 3: on those texts, it was not finding you know, one
- 28:36Speaker 3: eighteen years older than me and three kids, because initially,
- 28:40Speaker 3: you know, I wanted to create a family. I wanted
- 28:41Speaker 3: to you know, like go through the normal steps and
- 28:44Speaker 3: process in life, right and I got to a position
- 28:47Speaker 3: that you know, I already have three kids growing up
- 28:49Speaker 3: that and not mine so it's just a bit weird.
- 28:51Speaker 3: But I think, you know, the love that I felt,
- 28:55Speaker 3: that the feeling that I fre in the beginning for Caroline,
- 28:57Speaker 3: that's what made me stick to it. And I think
- 28:59Speaker 3: the you know, just seeing her, how you know, how
- 29:03Speaker 3: happy I met her. And I think, you know, I
- 29:06Speaker 3: knew the kids, and I think this I learned as
- 29:08Speaker 3: well from Caroline and the kids. Look, a lot of
- 29:10Speaker 3: people they stick to the families and everything because of
- 29:13Speaker 3: the kids. But at the end, the kids are going
- 29:14Speaker 3: to build their own lives. They're gonna just grow. And
- 29:15Speaker 3: at the end of the you end the balon or
- 29:17Speaker 3: with a partner, you know, And that's the truth, you know,
- 29:20Speaker 3: So you need to be happy, and that's caroline philosophy.
- 29:25Speaker 3: And you know, the kids are amazing now, but I mean, yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 3: the daughter is eighteen, she's in university and she comes
- 29:30Speaker 3: here once a year. She's gonna build her own life.
- 29:32Speaker 3: And then so Caroline took the decision of you know,
- 29:36Speaker 3: just living you know, the eggs and staying with me,
- 29:39Speaker 3: and then we're super happy. So I think I learned
- 29:41Speaker 3: all that mentally different her and I knew that we
- 29:44Speaker 3: were going to come out the other side and We're
- 29:45Speaker 3: going to be Caroline and me after going through what
- 29:48Speaker 3: we went through. The kids, which they're they're always going
- 29:50Speaker 3: to stay in our lives, but you know, at the end,
- 29:52Speaker 3: it's just going to be Caroline and me. We're gonna
- 29:55Speaker 3: be happy. So you know, well, yeah, I love that.
- 30:00Speaker 4: And so speaking of that, you know, you've always wanted
- 30:05Speaker 4: to have kids, and I know that you guys been
- 30:08Speaker 4: talking about that.
- 30:09Speaker 2: How's that going?
- 30:10Speaker 3: Oh my god, the big question everybody. I feel like
- 30:13Speaker 3: everybody wants this baby. I'm like, yeah, I mean, look,
- 30:18Speaker 3: it's just a bit the interesting for me because I'm
- 30:22Speaker 3: coming from a very big family. My dad. They are,
- 30:24Speaker 3: you know, nine brothers, one sister. The sister has eleven kids, tripless,
- 30:28Speaker 3: so I have forty one cousins from my dad's side,
- 30:31Speaker 3: it's a mine is a creative family. And then my
- 30:34Speaker 3: mom's side is a bit smaller, but still like you know,
- 30:36Speaker 3: fourteen fourteen, you know, cousins. So, you know, I love
- 30:40Speaker 3: the family. I love noise in the house. I love
- 30:42Speaker 3: you know, having a lot of people around. So the
- 30:44Speaker 3: question is are we going to have a baby? I mean,
- 30:46Speaker 3: we are, We're considering having a baby. We're continuing you know,
- 30:50Speaker 3: we we the DIBF, so we we have a baby
- 30:54Speaker 3: ready to go, a boy genetically perfect, so it's mixed already.
- 30:58Speaker 3: We just need to find a body basically, you know.
- 31:01Speaker 3: So Caroline, I don't think Karlin is gonna carry because
- 31:05Speaker 3: you know, she had preclamcya before when she had the
- 31:08Speaker 3: twins and suffer a lot. So the last thing I
- 31:10Speaker 3: want is, you know, for her to suffer a right,
- 31:12Speaker 3: even though the doctors said that she could carry before
- 31:14Speaker 3: fifty but I don't. I don't think we're gonna do it.
- 31:18Speaker 3: So now the question is, you know, we are looking
- 31:20Speaker 3: Abu Dabi. Now they just legalize surugacy here in the
- 31:25Speaker 3: Middle East, which is very good news because I didn't
- 31:28Speaker 3: want to have my baby, you know, in the US
- 31:30Speaker 3: or Europe because it's very far, you know. So it's
- 31:34Speaker 3: a you know, it's a positive thing that now we're
- 31:36Speaker 3: allowed to do it here. So we're still looking and considering.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I don't know when it's gonna happen, but it's a
- 31:43Speaker 3: you know, it's a thing that we have there, let's say,
- 31:45Speaker 3: you know, so it's pretty cool. Yeah, our life will
- 31:48Speaker 3: change a lot, to be honest, because now you know,
- 31:50Speaker 3: we have a very good life because basically the kids
- 31:53Speaker 3: stay with us one week and then they go one
- 31:55Speaker 3: week with the father, and then the week they go,
- 31:57Speaker 3: we normally travel. So it is just it's very convenient
- 32:00Speaker 3: for us, you know, because we are all here, so
- 32:02Speaker 3: we just you know, we travel, so we get both lives.
- 32:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That's interesting. Where does the father live?
- 32:09Speaker 3: So the final live here? Oh he does, okay in yeah, yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 3: so it's only twenty five minutes from here. So we
- 32:15Speaker 3: have a very easy relationship. So when the father, for example,
- 32:18Speaker 3: it's traveling, the kids come with us. Oh you know,
- 32:21Speaker 3: vice versa. So it's just a one week one week.
- 32:24Speaker 3: But normally, you know, sometimes for example, we went to
- 32:26Speaker 3: Australia recently, it was three weeks, so they stayed with
- 32:29Speaker 3: them three So it's just very flexible, you.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Know, nice, very nice. I remember when my wife and
- 32:35Speaker 1: I first got together, it was fifty to fifty custody,
- 32:37Speaker 1: and the days that they were not with us, we
- 32:40Speaker 1: would always be doing something fun, traveling or you know,
- 32:43Speaker 1: just what you know couples do. And when they were
- 32:46Speaker 1: with us, it completely changed dynamics. We were more responsible
- 32:50Speaker 1: and you know, we were a family. And then it
- 32:54Speaker 1: got to a point where the kids didn't want to
- 32:56Speaker 1: do that anymore, and they ended up full time with
- 32:59Speaker 1: us and totally through a wrench monkey wrench in my
- 33:01Speaker 1: whole system.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Question, like, you know, do we want to have a
- 33:07Speaker 3: baby and change our life completely and are the dynamic
- 33:11Speaker 3: because you know now, I mean we are really back
- 33:14Speaker 3: to being like twenty years old escaping the world that
- 33:17Speaker 3: week because we literally just go, you know, so yeah
- 33:20Speaker 3: it is. It is fantastic to be honest, you know,
- 33:22Speaker 3: and then the week there here we get the whole
- 33:24Speaker 3: family life.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I do get that impression because I kind of looked
- 33:29Speaker 1: at your Instagram for a while and you guys are
- 33:31Speaker 1: all over the world and it's so exciting and so
- 33:33Speaker 1: much fun to watch. And I do enjoy the videos
- 33:36Speaker 1: that you guys created. They're really good, very creative, very funny.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Yah.
- 33:40Speaker 3: That's my that's my passion passion side of you know,
- 33:44Speaker 3: I love I love creating content. I love I'm verdy creative.
- 33:47Speaker 3: That's why I'm enjoying so much, you know, building the hotel,
- 33:50Speaker 3: because I'm putting a lot of creativity behind you know, awesome,
- 33:53Speaker 3: But I mean we kind of pose the kids and
- 33:55Speaker 3: they don't want to be in the Instagram morning and
- 33:57Speaker 3: the kids. But we we spend time with them. You know.
- 33:59Speaker 3: It's just that we only you know, post all the
- 34:02Speaker 3: troubles and things, you know, but we go we get
- 34:05Speaker 3: both lives, which is fantastic, to be honest. You know.
- 34:15Speaker 2: My question you because you mentioned this earlier.
- 34:17Speaker 4: I'm curious, how does Caroline do with when she comes
- 34:21Speaker 4: and meets you know, you know big Glatin families, they
- 34:24Speaker 4: have big gatherings. How does she deal with those big
- 34:27Speaker 4: gatherings when she's got to show up and there's you know,
- 34:30Speaker 4: fifty people there and you know, they have their traditions.
- 34:33Speaker 2: How does she deal with it?
- 34:35Speaker 3: It's very funny. See I mean in a way, I
- 34:37Speaker 3: think see that she hates them, like she hates the
- 34:39Speaker 3: whole thing because it's just no very family oriented. You know,
- 34:42Speaker 3: see got better at it, you know. You know, my
- 34:45Speaker 3: family they make so much effort, like they speaking list
- 34:47Speaker 3: and staff and they bring her food and things. But
- 34:49Speaker 3: she's just Caroline has these things because he went to
- 34:51Speaker 3: boarding their school seems very early, you know. And you know,
- 34:54Speaker 3: I always say I wish I introduced my parents as
- 34:57Speaker 3: my best friends to Caroline. Here's Violet, my friend, my
- 35:00Speaker 3: mom and this is my dad, which is not my dad,
- 35:02Speaker 3: it's someone that I know. I spend a lot of
- 35:04Speaker 3: time with it. Because Caroline, as soon as you hear
- 35:06Speaker 3: the word father and mother, she becomes like it's like
- 35:10Speaker 3: a frozen it's like cold. She cannot even do anything
- 35:12Speaker 3: to them. I'm like, it's crazy, it's crazy. And I
- 35:14Speaker 3: think it's because of boording in school, because she just,
- 35:17Speaker 3: you know, she just went through a load and like,
- 35:19Speaker 3: you know, they were not very you know, spending time
- 35:21Speaker 3: with her and stuff, and she just cannot really established
- 35:25Speaker 3: her relationship with parents.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, it's more like a business
- 35:29Speaker 1: transaction than a emotional relationship.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Are percent I coind of you know, I cry when
- 35:34Speaker 3: the when Caroline's father is leaving the house here because
- 35:36Speaker 3: I'm very emotion and he's lovely and Caroline is already
- 35:39Speaker 3: upstairs like it's like okay, like he's literally pushing them out.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god. You know. So it's just
- 35:47Speaker 3: it's just very funny, to be honest, you.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Know, how often do you guys spend time with your family.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I just came back now. So Caroline also always like
- 35:58Speaker 3: she kills me to do this, but I have to
- 36:00Speaker 3: do it because you know, so I go there normally
- 36:02Speaker 3: every winter the twenty first to a twenty fifth, twenty six,
- 36:07Speaker 3: you know, so I spend always four days day in Madrid,
- 36:10Speaker 3: you know, like because they love it, they got used
- 36:11Speaker 3: to it. I'll bring a lot of presents and you
- 36:13Speaker 3: know with the Christmas okay dinner on the twenty fourth,
- 36:16Speaker 3: and then I come back, you know, so I just
- 36:19Speaker 3: have to do it because you know, unless I bring
- 36:20Speaker 3: them here, which maybe next year we will do or something,
- 36:23Speaker 3: but you know, normally I have to go there, you know.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's like I got you know. That leads
- 36:28Speaker 1: me to a question that just popped into my head.
- 36:31Speaker 1: I think it's important to learn from you in in
- 36:36Speaker 1: the dynamics of your relationship. You guys created or plan
- 36:40Speaker 1: to create some sort of tradition or or things that,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you know, creating something for your family that's different from
- 36:49Speaker 1: your personal family and her family because the dynamics are
- 36:52Speaker 1: so different. Right, are you creating a new tradition in
- 36:56Speaker 1: your future or are you just going with it?
- 36:58Speaker 3: I mean, for now, we are not creating anything. I
- 37:03Speaker 3: put some little steps into you know, the family are
- 37:06Speaker 3: created because you know, she has already kids, and I
- 37:08Speaker 3: cannot change things. But if we have a kid, it
- 37:12Speaker 3: will be you know, I think it will be different,
- 37:14Speaker 3: and I know actually it will be like how I
- 37:17Speaker 3: would you know, I would love to create a family,
- 37:19Speaker 3: which is you know a lot of traditions, a lot
- 37:20Speaker 3: of things. How I do all all my Spanish traditions,
- 37:23Speaker 3: let's say, yeah, because I mean it's just you know,
- 37:26Speaker 3: Caroline Sea got converted to Cis Jewish because he got
- 37:30Speaker 3: converted because of the Exhausman. So you know, it's just
- 37:33Speaker 3: very different, you know, both of us. To be honest,
- 37:35Speaker 3: that's why we have to go to Mauritius to get
- 37:37Speaker 3: married because you know, legally in the UA you cannot
- 37:40Speaker 3: get married, you know, because I was you know, a
- 37:44Speaker 3: Catholic and she was divorced us, so it was just
- 37:47Speaker 3: impossible to get married, you know. So we had to
- 37:50Speaker 3: go to Mauritius to get the paperwork and sign everything legally.
- 37:54Speaker 3: So we did a small wedding there, you know, in
- 37:57Speaker 3: the Four Seasons, and then we came back here and
- 37:58Speaker 3: did the big wedding.
- 38:00Speaker 2: And then you got married on the show.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Correct, we got matter on the show. Yes, Yes, we
- 38:04Speaker 3: got matter on the show, which was amazing actually it was.
- 38:06Speaker 3: It was so beautiful. I mean, it was just very fast.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Everything happened like quite intent. But it was amazing, to
- 38:12Speaker 3: be honest, it was like it was a dream. It
- 38:14Speaker 3: was honestly the best dream I couldn't imagine, you know,
- 38:17Speaker 3: because everything just came so perfectly. The hotel Raffles, the
- 38:21Speaker 3: Palm just open, which was one of the iconic hotels,
- 38:24Speaker 3: and it was just so new. Everything it was. It
- 38:26Speaker 3: was magical. You know.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Well that did you get married on the show too?
- 38:32Speaker 2: I did.
- 38:32Speaker 1: We had her three.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Id No, you got matter in the show as well.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Okay, well we had a separate show. We didn't actually
- 38:39Speaker 1: get married on the on the Real Housewive show. We
- 38:41Speaker 1: had a spin off. I think it was a three
- 38:44Speaker 1: series spin off. And the struggle initially was because of
- 38:48Speaker 1: my experience on the show. I didn't want to do
- 38:51Speaker 1: it on the show. I had no desire because it
- 38:53Speaker 1: was so about drama and toxic relationships and all that.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I said, I don't want anything to do with that.
- 39:00Speaker 1: But the way it turned out, they produced an amazing show.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It was the most beautiful wedding that you can imagine,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and everybody was I mean, there was a little bit
- 39:09Speaker 1: of drama that was relating to, you know, get this
- 39:12Speaker 1: done or what Yeah, what are you gonna choose? But
- 39:15Speaker 1: it wasn't what the Real Housewife show is about, right,
- 39:18Speaker 1: It wasn't nothing like that. It really was magical. And
- 39:21Speaker 1: our plan was very much like yours, have the wedding,
- 39:24Speaker 1: you know, for TV purposes, and then have a little
- 39:26Speaker 1: wedding on Laguna Beach with you know, our closest friends.
- 39:30Speaker 1: But the wedding was so beautiful and magical and it
- 39:33Speaker 1: felt so real that we didn't need to have a
- 39:35Speaker 1: second wedding, but it was. It was an amazing experience. Yeah,
- 39:38Speaker 1: it really was.
- 39:40Speaker 3: For example, because Caroline wanted to make up Ony in
- 39:42Speaker 3: the wedding. Caroline wanted the wedding because some things that
- 39:46Speaker 3: we started a lot of this because he's done everything
- 39:47Speaker 3: in life, right because he's he's almost fifty, so I
- 39:51Speaker 3: haven't done like so many things that he's done. So
- 39:54Speaker 3: she's like, look, I want to get married, you know,
- 39:56Speaker 3: in an eyland, no shoes. I'm like, honey, how I'm
- 39:59Speaker 3: going to have that? Like he's like ten people. I'm
- 40:00Speaker 3: like I cannot do that. I'm like, what all my
- 40:03Speaker 3: family everything? So we had a massified like crazy because
- 40:07Speaker 3: I'm like, I have to do a proper wedding. I
- 40:09Speaker 3: have to have like a priest. I have to do
- 40:10Speaker 3: like a big thing, you know, because in her her
- 40:12Speaker 3: old wedding it was like a thousand people, you know,
- 40:15Speaker 3: in the biggest thing in Turkey, and I was like, look,
- 40:18Speaker 3: I have to have it. So then within Mauricius for
- 40:20Speaker 3: her kind of in an island, ten people, and then
- 40:22Speaker 3: we did you know raffles you know, in the in
- 40:24Speaker 3: Dubai for me basically, so that was just two combinations,
- 40:27Speaker 3: you know.
- 40:27Speaker 1: So yeah, that's hilarious. That's such an opposite dynamic. It's
- 40:32Speaker 1: usually the woman that one huge.
- 40:36Speaker 3: I don't. I don't, I don't. I don't know why.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I'm like, you know, in so many ways, I'm like
- 40:39Speaker 3: a king woman this relationship because it's just it's such
- 40:42Speaker 3: a it's such a man in so many ways. I'm like,
- 40:45Speaker 3: you know, there's no emotions, there's no feelings. It's like
- 40:47Speaker 3: a it's like a British rock, like there's nothing. And
- 40:50Speaker 3: I'm the emotional one because I'm I'm the Latino one,
- 40:52Speaker 3: you know. So we're always like, you know, I love
- 40:55Speaker 3: I and go I can go like four days with
- 40:57Speaker 3: a given noticing I'm not there, and it's fine, like
- 41:02Speaker 3: it's just suppose he is, you know, like.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, that's awesome. Well we got
- 41:08Speaker 1: into the show. Tell us a little bit about how
- 41:12Speaker 1: that all happened. How did you did you know about
- 41:15Speaker 1: the Real Housewives show before you you got cast or
- 41:19Speaker 1: how did that happen?
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, no idea.
- 41:21Speaker 3: I mean, so Caroline City before in the UK, right City,
- 41:27Speaker 3: Ladies of London before, which was I think, you know,
- 41:30Speaker 3: a same production company and everything, same channel, but like
- 41:33Speaker 3: you know, in the UK. And then when sim moved
- 41:35Speaker 3: here the show, when I started to get to know
- 41:39Speaker 3: her a little bit, I didn't know anything about Housewives.
- 41:40Speaker 3: I didn't even know because in Spain we don't have that.
- 41:42Speaker 3: You know, it's not like a thing now, no one
- 41:44Speaker 3: really watched I Andre, you know how big it was,
- 41:47Speaker 3: and you know everything that you know, it is involved.
- 41:51Speaker 3: And then when we started to get to kind of
- 41:53Speaker 3: like know each other, you know, we start talking and stuff.
- 41:57Speaker 3: And then when I ended up moving to Dubai, they
- 42:01Speaker 3: did like a few casts for her for Beverly Hills,
- 42:06Speaker 3: you know, and then at the end, you know, it
- 42:08Speaker 3: just they wanted to move the whole family, so it
- 42:10Speaker 3: never happened, and you know, it was to be complicated,
- 42:13Speaker 3: so then I think it's slowly just to buy housewives
- 42:15Speaker 3: just came because he was here, so then they kind
- 42:17Speaker 3: of build the whole you know, the whole cast and
- 42:21Speaker 3: everybody around her and stuff. But I didn't know anything.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I never you know, I did a few TV things
- 42:27Speaker 3: because you know, of soccer and things, but I never
- 42:29Speaker 3: really you know, I was never used to, you know,
- 42:32Speaker 3: having people in my house, you know, like you know,
- 42:35Speaker 3: just nine hours a day, film and everything. You know. Yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 3: And the problem as well is because I'm very real,
- 42:42Speaker 3: so you know, I cannot really lie. You know, It's
- 42:44Speaker 3: just who I am. So it was just a bit
- 42:46Speaker 3: difficult in the beginning. How I was gonna kind of like,
- 42:48Speaker 3: you know, just be my I couldn't hide who I am.
- 42:51Speaker 3: So you know, that's why I think in the show,
- 42:53Speaker 3: you can see in the show is my personality, but
- 42:56Speaker 3: multiply by a thousand because they kind of edited that
- 42:58Speaker 3: way and stuff. But I you know, it's I'm very emotional.
- 43:02Speaker 3: It's just you know, it's who I am. You know,
- 43:05Speaker 3: I'm like a told you boy, how you're portraying the show.
- 43:07Speaker 3: It's kind of like, you know, I play that funny,
- 43:09Speaker 3: that funny role, which is I mean, it's okay, they
- 43:12Speaker 3: want to play that way, which is fine, you know,
- 43:14Speaker 3: I take it, but you know, but uh, you know,
- 43:17Speaker 3: I didn't really know how it was about, to be honest.
- 43:21Speaker 1: That's interesting because I've always said that the control with
- 43:26Speaker 1: the editing is what makes the show right, and I
- 43:29Speaker 1: understand it. Obviously it's for entertainment purposes. But at the
- 43:33Speaker 1: same time, this is your personality that they're messing with
- 43:37Speaker 1: and trying to create a character. So how do you
- 43:41Speaker 1: handle all the negative ship that comes with you know,
- 43:44Speaker 1: obviously the positive stuff, but the negative stuff is really
- 43:49Speaker 1: what concerns me. Because you can tell me I'm funny,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I'm good looking, I'm energetic, and I know that. But
- 43:56Speaker 1: when I get people that criticize me because my eyes
- 43:59Speaker 1: aren't blue, or my hair is now blonde, or I
- 44:02Speaker 1: don't have big enough muscles or whatever stupid you know comments,
- 44:05Speaker 1: how do you how do you deal with those?
- 44:08Speaker 3: I mean, you know, luckily for me because coming from soccer,
- 44:11Speaker 3: soccer world is a very jealous, you know, it's a
- 44:14Speaker 3: very difficult world. So I always you know, have people
- 44:17Speaker 3: talking you know, me or my bag or things. So
- 44:20Speaker 3: I kind of build a little bit of that personality.
- 44:22Speaker 3: It's just you know, and I never had that many
- 44:24Speaker 3: people close to me, you know. So then with the
- 44:27Speaker 3: years and then also when I met Caroline, you know,
- 44:30Speaker 3: we you know, we made like so many news. It
- 44:32Speaker 3: was everywhere like toy boy. You know, they even called
- 44:35Speaker 3: me sex My name was sex slave. I was like,
- 44:38Speaker 3: oh my god, what is wrong with the I know,
- 44:42Speaker 3: my whole I didn't do anything in life, it was
- 44:44Speaker 3: the sex slave. And when when it's related to Spanish,
- 44:47Speaker 3: I understood what it was because I didn't read what
- 44:49Speaker 3: was that. I was like, oh my god, this is
- 44:51Speaker 3: cloud was exually it's the worst thing you can call
- 44:53Speaker 3: a human or oh god. So then you know, it
- 44:57Speaker 3: was just all these news came out. I was like,
- 44:59Speaker 3: you know, over relationship and things, and it was just
- 45:02Speaker 3: a bit you know, everything started there kind of, but
- 45:04Speaker 3: then I didn't really realize with the show what was
- 45:07Speaker 3: gonna come after, you know, because I mean they literally
- 45:09Speaker 3: called me everything. And also the edit, you know, it
- 45:12Speaker 3: didn't really help because it was portraying this image of
- 45:15Speaker 3: you know, I mean just like you know, how you
- 45:18Speaker 3: call it like he was my sugar mama. You know.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I was just literally just not doing anything during the day,
- 45:23Speaker 3: just here, doing here and not, you know, just looking
- 45:26Speaker 3: after her, you know. And you know, because I'm from
- 45:30Speaker 3: the South of Spain, I'm kind of funny, you know,
- 45:31Speaker 3: so I'm like, okay, I rolled with it. So I
- 45:33Speaker 3: was just playing that. But then they you know, in
- 45:35Speaker 3: the edit is kind of like multiplied by a thousand,
- 45:37Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh my god, this is just the
- 45:39Speaker 3: worst thing. And then they were to take they were
- 45:41Speaker 3: taking all my comments and mixing it with the other stuff,
- 45:43Speaker 3: and I was like, oh my god, like you know,
- 45:45Speaker 3: so but I mean, you know, I I don't really
- 45:49Speaker 3: I never really care about what people think. And I
- 45:51Speaker 3: think that's something that I learned since I was little,
- 45:54Speaker 3: because if if I could have cared, like I would
- 45:56Speaker 3: never be where I am today with Caroline, you know,
- 45:57Speaker 3: because everybody told me what I was doing, you know,
- 46:01Speaker 3: all my close friends they were like, look, you are crazy,
- 46:04Speaker 3: you know, and Caroline is the same actually, by the way,
- 46:07Speaker 3: all her friends, you know, they were saying, look like
- 46:10Speaker 3: what are you gonna do, Like how are you going
- 46:11Speaker 3: to build a life with him? Like you know, he's
- 46:13Speaker 3: like twenty years younger than you like, and still so
- 46:15Speaker 3: many friends when we were going through everything, and I
- 46:17Speaker 3: think because both of us we are the same in
- 46:19Speaker 3: that way, we don't really care how people and everything.
- 46:22Speaker 3: So it was just you know, so it made us
- 46:24Speaker 3: kind of like together stronger, you know. But I mean,
- 46:26Speaker 3: imagine living in the Middle East, where we are probably
- 46:30Speaker 3: the only couple we had twenty years age cup, I'm
- 46:34Speaker 3: probably in the public eye, you know, because normally here
- 46:37Speaker 3: there is only like you know, normally it's older men
- 46:39Speaker 3: with younger women. You know, it's more like common there's
- 46:42Speaker 3: not really people like the other way around, and you
- 46:45Speaker 3: know here it's just very very rare. It's not like
- 46:46Speaker 3: living Los Angeles, you know, which is more common on
- 46:49Speaker 3: you know, the US.
- 46:50Speaker 2: You know.
- 46:50Speaker 3: So it was just a very big big thing here,
- 46:53Speaker 3: you know, to make it public, and you know, we're
- 46:55Speaker 3: going everywhere and people kind of like we're looking, and
- 46:58Speaker 3: you know, it was just a bit a bit difficult.
- 47:01Speaker 3: But you know, the comments, I mean, we were just
- 47:05Speaker 3: taking them, you know by this day by day and
- 47:09Speaker 3: and I don't really remember any that really made me,
- 47:13Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is crazy, because I mean they
- 47:15Speaker 3: literally called me everything, They called me gay, they call me,
- 47:17Speaker 3: you know, toy boy, like everything in the planet you
- 47:20Speaker 3: can call anyone. And I think I feel like i'm
- 47:23Speaker 3: you know, I'm very secure with myself, so I don't
- 47:26Speaker 3: I don't really need to get proof to anybody who
- 47:28Speaker 3: I am, you know, in a way, I have to,
- 47:31Speaker 3: you know, I have to thank soccer, you know, and
- 47:33Speaker 3: everything I went through, you know, suffering very early in
- 47:37Speaker 3: my life, you know, you know, because he gave me
- 47:41Speaker 3: the strength that I have today.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Was there a part obviously, you know, to be as
- 47:45Speaker 4: successful as you've been in soccer, and then obviously you know,
- 47:48Speaker 4: getting your degree, and now with business, there's there's a
- 47:51Speaker 4: little you got to have a little ego to be
- 47:53Speaker 4: a little successful, right, you got to.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Have a little ambition, right.
- 47:57Speaker 4: So what happens when you know you've been successful on
- 48:01Speaker 4: your own and now everybody's almost making it seem like
- 48:04Speaker 4: you haven't done anything, and you're just you know, you
- 48:07Speaker 4: found yourself a sugar mama.
- 48:08Speaker 2: But you're like, wait a minute, I'm I'm pretty successful myself.
- 48:13Speaker 2: That the ego that did it kind of like tell
- 48:16Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 48:18Speaker 3: A little bit, I think, because you know, my whole
- 48:20Speaker 3: life has been a bit like a roller coaster. So
- 48:22Speaker 3: I went, you know, everything changed very early in my life.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I didn't really know what was happening. The other sign.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I was training with the best soccer players in the world,
- 48:30Speaker 3: you know, and then all of a sudden, I, you know,
- 48:32Speaker 3: my ego was up here. You know. I was not happy,
- 48:35Speaker 3: and I was like, look at my star. You know,
- 48:37Speaker 3: I don't care what I broke the contract. So then
- 48:39Speaker 3: from one day to another, I literally went like this,
- 48:41Speaker 3: and then on the sign I went all the way up,
- 48:43Speaker 3: you know. So I think because it's just being like
- 48:45Speaker 3: a like that roller coaster, I'm very used to, you know,
- 48:48Speaker 3: all the different stages, you know, so you know what
- 48:52Speaker 3: I'm just saying was it would just say that it
- 48:55Speaker 3: you know, perred percent. I mean honestly, you know, I
- 48:59Speaker 3: believe in God, and I knew I know that God
- 49:02Speaker 3: gave me and took out gave me all that that
- 49:04Speaker 3: he gave me very early stage, because I mean I
- 49:06Speaker 3: was driving all the you know how the fities I
- 49:08Speaker 3: had all the cars when I was eighteen, you know,
- 49:11Speaker 3: and I used to go to the train and everybody
- 49:13Speaker 3: was screaming, signing, you know, because it was just it
- 49:15Speaker 3: was a ramatic player.
- 49:16Speaker 2: You know.
- 49:16Speaker 3: It was not because it was me. It was just
- 49:17Speaker 3: it doesn't matter where you play in first second thirteen,
- 49:20Speaker 3: you were a Ramadi player. You were in the same office,
- 49:23Speaker 3: so everybody went crazy for you, you know. So I
- 49:27Speaker 3: just I got all that very early in my life.
- 49:29Speaker 3: And then it really was like, you know, I believe
- 49:33Speaker 3: you know, I became an assholt at some point and
- 49:35Speaker 3: it was not who I was. Came that like Arrogan
- 49:39Speaker 3: that you know that personal I did. I thought it
- 49:41Speaker 3: was I was somebody, and I you know, it was
- 49:44Speaker 3: the best thing that could happen to me. Just to
- 49:45Speaker 3: kind of like take it away from me and give
- 49:48Speaker 3: it to me a different way, because now I always say,
- 49:51Speaker 3: nothing's gonna change. You give me now a hand million
- 49:53Speaker 3: dollars literally nothing, because my life, you know, like I
- 49:55Speaker 3: have everything I was in my life and I'm happy
- 49:58Speaker 3: and content with who I am, and I it takes
- 50:01Speaker 3: a long way to understand that, you know, and I
- 50:05Speaker 3: know that because I went through all that before and
- 50:08Speaker 3: I had it and it was gone.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Do you think it would have been possible to not
- 50:13Speaker 1: be arrogant and egotistical if you get to that level
- 50:18Speaker 1: like you're in the top soccer team club in the world,
- 50:23Speaker 1: you think it's possible not to experience that ego or
- 50:26Speaker 1: that arrogance. It's you know, it's part of the package.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I mean part of it's part of the package. Yeah,
- 50:32Speaker 3: and you know, in soccer because for example, you know,
- 50:37Speaker 3: I think the ego played a big part of me
- 50:39Speaker 3: because as well, I was coming from a you know,
- 50:42Speaker 3: from a good family. You know, I didn't really need soccer,
- 50:47Speaker 3: you know, to kind of like, you know, keep going
- 50:49Speaker 3: with my life, right, and for example, I will never
- 50:52Speaker 3: forget that at the age of fifteen, the coach sent
- 50:54Speaker 3: me down and he said, look at your age. I
- 50:57Speaker 3: had two options, which was the construction soccer, and I
- 51:00Speaker 3: chose soccer. I see you that you have many different options,
- 51:04Speaker 3: which I was doing modeling with Nike, I was, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 3: doing so many things, and I was studying, you know,
- 51:09Speaker 3: and I was doing soccer. And he said, because you
- 51:10Speaker 3: have so many different options, you're not going to play
- 51:12Speaker 3: any minute with me. And I was a sixteen years old.
- 51:15Speaker 3: So then that guy made my life miserable. I was
- 51:18Speaker 3: in drama Ria and I didn't play half of the
- 51:21Speaker 3: season because of that. So I think all those you know,
- 51:24Speaker 3: things that made me really you know, build up a
- 51:27Speaker 3: very thick skin, you know. So I think when I
- 51:30Speaker 3: made it and I was training with the first team,
- 51:32Speaker 3: then you know, anywhere I was going outside the streets
- 51:36Speaker 3: and I was like, you know, who are these people?
- 51:38Speaker 3: And it was just completely wrong here on my mind.
- 51:40Speaker 3: But I was thinking that automatically because you know, I
- 51:44Speaker 3: think the fame and the success. You know, it's a
- 51:49Speaker 3: very very difficult game, you know, and I would always
- 51:52Speaker 3: be grateful for experience that very early and then kind
- 51:55Speaker 3: of just take it away from me.
- 51:57Speaker 1: You know, I think that brings you down to a
- 52:01Speaker 1: normal human level, and.
- 52:06Speaker 3: I will never honestly, when I came here, you know,
- 52:09Speaker 3: I got a few offers to play football, you know,
- 52:13Speaker 3: you know, and I just I didn't want to take it,
- 52:16Speaker 3: to be honest, I had always signals just to not
- 52:18Speaker 3: go into that. And you know, it was amazing what
- 52:21Speaker 3: it gave me, because it gave me, you know, an
- 52:23Speaker 3: amazing platform. He gave me all the connections I have.
- 52:26Speaker 3: You know, I traveled the world I want literally everywhere,
- 52:28Speaker 3: you know, but it also prepared me to where I
- 52:32Speaker 3: am today.
- 52:34Speaker 1: So do you still play soccer or do you not
- 52:38Speaker 1: want to ever kick up all again.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually you know, because it was it was
- 52:44Speaker 3: very difficult when I when I left Drama RI because
- 52:46Speaker 3: you're used to this bobble and then you leave and
- 52:48Speaker 3: then all of a sudden, nothing is the same. So
- 52:50Speaker 3: then I left soccer for two years and then I
- 52:53Speaker 3: kind of went back slowly. But you know, I mean,
- 52:56Speaker 3: I I don't play. To be honest, I'm very close
- 52:57Speaker 3: friends with some of the biggest stars that they actually
- 53:00Speaker 3: my neighbors now, which is fantastic because I actually grew
- 53:03Speaker 3: up watching them and now but literally my friends. And
- 53:05Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, how crazy life is that?
- 53:07Speaker 3: This is giving me everything I wanted on a different way,
- 53:11Speaker 3: and I'm still involved somehow, but but I'm not involved.
- 53:14Speaker 3: So it is fantastic, you know, see to see that.
- 53:16Speaker 3: But I don't play. I don't play. You know, I
- 53:18Speaker 3: don't play soccer anymore.
- 53:19Speaker 1: How do you stay in shape?
- 53:21Speaker 3: So I go to a gym, you know. And also
- 53:24Speaker 3: because I over work out my body so much when
- 53:27Speaker 3: I was little, you know that it has a very
- 53:29Speaker 3: good memory. So then you know, I don't really need
- 53:33Speaker 3: to do that much, to be honest. And for example,
- 53:34Speaker 3: now if you if I want to look good for
- 53:36Speaker 3: I don't know, for a trip or whatever, I work
- 53:38Speaker 3: out maybe like a week, like intent, and that's it.
- 53:40Speaker 3: But I normally play like, you know, padel a lot
- 53:43Speaker 3: of paddle, you know, go for runs once in a while.
- 53:46Speaker 3: But I know, might do a gym, you know, I
- 53:48Speaker 3: like the gym to disconnect. But it's yeah, it's more
- 53:51Speaker 3: for I used to be addicted, to be honest, for
- 53:53Speaker 3: like you know, yeah, for looks and like you know,
- 53:56Speaker 3: like staying feet and this. It was just like an adiction.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Now I'm more relaxed on that.
- 54:00Speaker 2: You know.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Nice. Well, you got to enjoy that because I missed
- 54:03Speaker 1: those days where I could just work out for a week.
- 54:05Speaker 2: And right shape.
- 54:08Speaker 1: It doesn't work that way.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Fifty Oh my god, you look amazing. You're fifty, you
- 54:13Speaker 3: know you're fifty fifty one?
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and Edwin is actually eighty. Yeah, he's in great shape.
- 54:22Speaker 3: You guys, You guys look amazing. To be honest, you
- 54:24Speaker 3: guys work out a loone.
- 54:25Speaker 4: No, I often say, I work out for my sanity,
- 54:29Speaker 4: not my vanity.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Yeah it was twenty one.
- 54:31Speaker 4: I worked out for my vanity indeed, But as you
- 54:34Speaker 4: get older, it's really just for sanity.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Now you know, it's you know, lasting that loone. You know,
- 54:40Speaker 3: I'm thirty, so I'm hoping it will last hour maybe
- 54:43Speaker 3: five years maximum, you know. And also i'mzing a lot
- 54:46Speaker 3: with Carolinzo. You know.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Well it started balancing out or going to tipping
- 54:53Speaker 1: point for me. It was around forty six, and it
- 54:56Speaker 1: was a heart, a heart issue that happened to me.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I had aphe that totally threw a ranch into my
- 55:01Speaker 1: whole system because all my life, you know, I consider
- 55:05Speaker 1: myself sort of an athlete. Growing up like an athlete.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I did sports in high school all my life. I
- 55:09Speaker 1: wasn't professional, but what I learned, you know, the biggest
- 55:13Speaker 1: lesson I learned in sports is pain is just part
- 55:16Speaker 1: of the game, and if you can handle the pain
- 55:19Speaker 1: longer than the competitor, you're going to be the winner.
- 55:22Speaker 1: So I apply that to a lot of things in
- 55:24Speaker 1: my life, including my physical and you know, I'm a
- 55:26Speaker 1: cyclist at heart. That's my real sport. I love riding
- 55:29Speaker 1: my road bike. And you know, I've gone miles one
- 55:32Speaker 1: hundreds of miles and you know, heart rate averaging one
- 55:34Speaker 1: hundred and sixty hundred and seventy beats for minutes for hours, right,
- 55:38Speaker 1: So it was just too much that I think contributed
- 55:43Speaker 1: and among other things because I still don't really know
- 55:46Speaker 1: what caused it, but diet, lifestyle and all that. I've
- 55:49Speaker 1: never really been a drinker. I don't drink, you know.
- 55:53Speaker 3: Much exactly same as me, to be honest, and I
- 55:55Speaker 3: think that's that's the biggest thing why I stay in shame,
- 55:58Speaker 3: because I don't drink. You know, I eat clean, but
- 56:01Speaker 3: it's it's not even clean, it's my lifestyle, you know,
- 56:04Speaker 3: I know, I just just it healthy. And I think
- 56:07Speaker 3: that really helps, you know.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's helped me tremendously. And right, I mean
- 56:12Speaker 1: you can tell ed when you know it's looking great
- 56:14Speaker 1: for his age.
- 56:19Speaker 3: I don't drink. It's amazing.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Yeah, No, it's it's you know. I honestly, I'm like
- 56:26Speaker 1: Edwin and you probably as well. We we just I
- 56:28Speaker 1: know my body and when I put something in my
- 56:31Speaker 1: body and I feel like shit, it's a it's just body.
- 56:34Speaker 1: You don't do it pretty easy.
- 56:36Speaker 3: It's quite difficult for us because we have you know,
- 56:38Speaker 3: we're always here and the way everybody thinks we lived
- 56:40Speaker 3: in holiday, you know, and everybody comes and it's just
- 56:43Speaker 3: busy and busy and busying. So it's just back to
- 56:45Speaker 3: back every day, you know, going out, and you know
- 56:48Speaker 3: I suffer a little bit on the road inside of it.
- 56:51Speaker 3: You know, it's to stay you know, on track, but
- 56:54Speaker 3: you know I try to kind of Yeah.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Now, well, great, great interview, ser Joe. I.
- 57:00Speaker 4: I specifically loved how you said, you know, it's interesting
- 57:03Speaker 4: when you've experienced something before and you've kind of.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Been there already and you kind of know what that
- 57:09Speaker 2: gave you.
- 57:09Speaker 4: It's like, I don't want to go back to that, right,
- 57:13Speaker 4: And you're like, but this I haven't experienced before, and
- 57:15Speaker 4: this I like even more.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 57:17Speaker 4: So I loved your answer on that, and I just
- 57:19Speaker 4: loved everything we talked about today.
- 57:21Speaker 2: So thank you for a great, great interview, and I
- 57:24Speaker 2: hope to see you soon here in La Man.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:27Speaker 4: I had a big time to do with Vegas and
- 57:29Speaker 4: your and your wife again stunner beautiful. And I also
- 57:33Speaker 4: when I first met your wife, I had no idea
- 57:36Speaker 4: her age. I would have thought she was, like I said,
- 57:38Speaker 4: in her thirties. So well, well, well done.
- 57:41Speaker 2: On the catch there too.
- 57:42Speaker 1: But we'll close it with health this wealth. You know,
- 57:46Speaker 1: at the end of the day. You can have all
- 57:47Speaker 1: the money in the world, but being unhealthy, yeah, it's
- 57:51Speaker 1: not worth it. So thank you so much Sergio for
- 57:54Speaker 1: spending the time. And you know, I know it's tough
- 57:57Speaker 1: because you're on a different time zone, but it was really.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Fun get able to know you actually, look, I'm in
- 58:02Speaker 3: pajamas on the bottom down, so yeah, nice.
- 58:06Speaker 1: That's a that's a that's a California thing that you
- 58:08Speaker 1: got in their pajamas out here.
- 58:10Speaker 3: It's twelve twelve fifteen at night.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Oh, time to start going out exactly.
- 58:18Speaker 1: All the best to you and your wife.
- 58:20Speaker 3: I thank you guys.
