Former Campus Cop Charged With Child Sex Crimes | Durham News
A former campus police officer in Johnston County, Chad Roger Penland, has surrendered facing serious felony charges for alleged child sex crimes involving a 15-year-old girl in February 2022. While serving as a Morrisville Police officer and later rejoining WakeMed Campus Police in 2023, Penland is now suspended by WakeMed, which insists the alleged incidents did not occur on hospital grounds.
