- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas

- 0:29Speaker 1: a place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Preview edition, Week eighteen, the last show of the year.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us. I am Michael Bumpas with Nasa Choby.
- 0:41Speaker 1: The Seahawks are taking on the Arizona Cardinals. Let's bring
- 0:44Speaker 1: Choby in. What's on tap? What's on Tap? Division rival
- 0:53Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals coming into this week eighteam matchup with an
- 0:55Speaker 1: eleven and five record, started the season ten and two
- 0:59Speaker 1: before three and losing streak, dropping games to the Rams,
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions, and the Indianapolis Colts. But they got
- 1:05Speaker 1: a big win against the Cowboys last week, and bump
- 1:08Speaker 1: I don't really know what it is about at and
- 1:10Speaker 1: T Stadium there in Dallas, But Kyler Murray needs to
- 1:14Speaker 1: submit for some part ownership or something, because that man
- 1:16Speaker 1: does not lose there. Five and oh is a high
- 1:19Speaker 1: school er, two and oh in college. Two and on
- 1:21Speaker 1: in the NFL, as the Cardinals went down there beat
- 1:23Speaker 1: the Cowboys twenty five to twenty two snap in that
- 1:26Speaker 1: three game losing streak, a much much needed win as
- 1:29Speaker 1: they get ready for the playoffs next week. You know.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And as of now, the Cowboys Cardinals they both held
- 1:35Speaker 1: the fourth and fifth seed in the NFC playoffs, meaning
- 1:37Speaker 1: this could be a rematch next week, so it'll be interesting.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But let's dive into that matchup. Cardinals are control for
- 1:43Speaker 1: most of the game. They're beating the Cowboys twenty two
- 1:45Speaker 1: to seven heading into the fourth quarter. However, Dak Prescott
- 1:48Speaker 1: got things going with two fourth quarter touchdown passes, bringing
- 1:52Speaker 1: in the game to within three points at twenty five
- 1:54Speaker 1: to twenty two with five minutes remaining in the game.
- 1:57Speaker 1: After Dallas use your final time out to fifty one
- 2:00Speaker 1: and Chase Edmonds ran the ball, lost it at the
- 2:02Speaker 1: six yard line but was ruled down, which was a
- 2:06Speaker 1: clear recovery by the Cowboys, but since the Cowboys were
- 2:09Speaker 1: out of timeouts, they couldn't challenge it, even though replay
- 2:12Speaker 1: made it pretty clear that the call should have been overturned.
- 2:14Speaker 1: As a result, Murray finished a turnover free showing which
- 2:17Speaker 1: is pretty good considering that Cowboys lead the league in takeaways,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and they were able to run out the remaining clock.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And honestly, the Cowboys had a legit right but earlier
- 2:27Speaker 1: in the game they had to burn a timeout when
- 2:29Speaker 1: the Cardinals came out from triggeration brought out Murray and
- 2:32Speaker 1: their kicker on the fourth down, caused massive confusion. Cowboys
- 2:36Speaker 1: defense had to call a timeout. Obviously that came back
- 2:38Speaker 1: to Biden because I think they would have got the
- 2:39Speaker 1: ball back with you know, a minute or so left,
- 2:42Speaker 1: have a chance to win the game. It's not how
- 2:44Speaker 1: it went. They lost the game offensively. Colin Murray had
- 2:47Speaker 1: a pretty good day twenty six of thirty eight two
- 2:50Speaker 1: sixty three, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, also had nine carries
- 2:54Speaker 1: for forty four yards. Chase Edmonds decent day and actually
- 2:57Speaker 1: not really got great eighteen carries fifty three yards. Christian
- 3:00Speaker 1: Kirk led all receivers with six reception in seventy nine yards,
- 3:04Speaker 1: the og aj green three reception seventy four yards. Antoine Wesley,
- 3:09Speaker 1: a name that you haven't heard much about this season,
- 3:11Speaker 1: had four receptions for thirty yards but did get two touchdowns.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So there's only one turnover in the game, which led
- 3:17Speaker 1: to a Cardinals field goal, and the Cowboys couldn't get
- 3:20Speaker 1: their own way. Penalize ten times for eighty eight yards
- 3:23Speaker 1: and just went three of eleven on third down. Now, bump,
- 3:26Speaker 1: when we look at this head to head, man, I mean,
- 3:28Speaker 1: it's Clearton favor for the eleven and five team versus
- 3:31Speaker 1: the six and ten Seahawks. But what are you seeing
- 3:33Speaker 1: from the numbers here? Let's look at these numbers. As
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know, the Cardinals are heading into the playoffs. There
- 3:39Speaker 1: are eleven and five, Your Hawks are six and ten. Offensively,
- 3:42Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals are the eighth ranked offense, averaging three hundred
- 3:45Speaker 1: and seventy seven yards per game. The Hawks are twenty third,
- 3:47Speaker 1: But you'll be seeing them slowly climb up in some
- 3:49Speaker 1: of these numbers. When you look at the Hawks rush
- 3:51Speaker 1: offensive Hawks are twelve, the Cardinals are ninth. Pass offensive
- 3:55Speaker 1: Hawks are twenty fifth. The Cardinals are eighth and points
- 3:57Speaker 1: per game. The Hawks are averaging twenty two, which makes
- 3:59Speaker 1: them seventeenth and the Cardinals are averaging twenty six. Defensively,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Seahawks defense moving on up hey ring thirty if not
- 4:07Speaker 1: the bottom of the barrel anymore, all right, the Cardinals
- 4:09Speaker 1: are ring tenth. When it comes to rush defense, Cardinals
- 4:11Speaker 1: are eleventh, the Hawks are eighteen. Pass defense Hawks or
- 4:14Speaker 1: thirty first, Cardinals are eighth. And points allowed, the Cardinals
- 4:18Speaker 1: are allowing twenty a game, averaging that makes a fifth
- 4:22Speaker 1: in the Hawks twenty one a game that puts him
- 4:24Speaker 1: at the tenth spot. There interceptions, the Hawks have eleven,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Cardinals have twelve, and the turnover differential the Hawks are
- 4:31Speaker 1: plus six and the Cardinals are plus eleven. On paper,
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Cardinals are supposed to get it done. I look
- 4:36Speaker 1: at the roster, I see what they're capable up. It
- 4:38Speaker 1: makes me a bit scary. But you look at what
- 4:40Speaker 1: the Hawks did last week. That defense played well, offense
- 4:42Speaker 1: put up fifty one. I don't care who it is
- 4:44Speaker 1: you take fifty one, but yeah, it should be a bottom.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And this team to have a weird history. Man, this
- 4:50Speaker 1: record is interesting. I saw you put down the record
- 4:53Speaker 1: of this series. Nas and I laughed to myself, here
- 4:55Speaker 1: you go, get to know this history, No, your history, Well,
- 5:00Speaker 1: it doesn't get more even as you could possibly be.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Between the Seahawks and the Cardinals all time series is
- 5:05Speaker 1: tied at twenty two twenty two and one. So not
- 5:08Speaker 1: only the tide in the lost column and the wind Colin,
- 5:10Speaker 1: they also had that tie back in twenty sixteen in
- 5:13Speaker 1: games dating back to nineteen seventy six. What happened the
- 5:16Speaker 1: last time the Cardinals came into Luminfield beat the Seahawks
- 5:19Speaker 1: twenty three to thirteen. This was Russell Wilson's just his
- 5:23Speaker 1: second game back from injury, and before the game we
- 5:25Speaker 1: were feeling good man. Colin Murray was out. You know,
- 5:28Speaker 1: we're in that point where the Seahawks is needed to
- 5:30Speaker 1: get one of those two games to kind of get
- 5:32Speaker 1: back in the playoff race. DeAndre Hopkins was out. But
- 5:36Speaker 1: this dude called McCoy man came into Loumfield, had himself
- 5:40Speaker 1: a day thirty five or forty four, three, twenty eight,
- 5:43Speaker 1: two touchdowns, no picks. Second time Colin McCoy in the
- 5:47Speaker 1: last two years to come into Umfield left with a victory.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It was pretty balanced for the Cardinals. Nobody went off.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Eric's had eighty eight yards, green At seventy eight yards,
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ronda and Morrell had eleven receptions. Seven Cardinals had at
- 5:59Speaker 1: least one reception. And honestly, the game came down to
- 6:04Speaker 1: really for me, the Seahawks lack of offense. But defensively
- 6:08Speaker 1: they played okay for the Seahawks, but they could not
- 6:11Speaker 1: get off the field when it counted. They gave up
- 6:12Speaker 1: four really long drives sixteen play sixty eight yards, thirteen
- 6:17Speaker 1: plays ninety two yards, fourteen plays sixty seven yards, ten
- 6:21Speaker 1: plays sixty four yards. Cardinals dominated time vest possession. They
- 6:25Speaker 1: were seven or fourteen on third down they ran seventy
- 6:29Speaker 1: nine plays. The Seahawks ran just forty nine. I believe
- 6:32Speaker 1: that's a season low. And then you just look at
- 6:35Speaker 1: the offensive drive chart. I mean, the Seahawks were punt punt,
- 6:39Speaker 1: field goal, field goal, punt, punt, punt, touchdown downs, end
- 6:43Speaker 1: of game. And you know, despite all that, the Seahawks
- 6:47Speaker 1: d J. Dallas gets in the end zone, making the
- 6:49Speaker 1: score sixteen to thirteen with seven h five in the
- 6:51Speaker 1: fourth quarter. However, the Seahawks were unable to get a
- 6:54Speaker 1: stop on the next drive, giving up a ten play
- 6:56Speaker 1: sixty four yard drive ending in a James Conner touch down. Now,
- 7:01Speaker 1: the Seahawks are playing a lot better than they were
- 7:04Speaker 1: at that time in the season. Offensively, there were no
- 7:07Speaker 1: kind of rhythm. Defensively, they were doing okam the scoreboard,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but giving up tons of yards and not really getting
- 7:13Speaker 1: off the field. Also, if you remember, that was the game,
- 7:15Speaker 1: the Seahawks lost Trey Brown for the rest of the season,
- 7:18Speaker 1: so it wasn't a great day leuin Field. You know,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I'm expecting a much different matchup this week. Obviously, Colin Murray,
- 7:24Speaker 1: it's back for the Cardinals. The Seahawks are playing better
- 7:27Speaker 1: on both sides of the football, so it should be
- 7:28Speaker 1: an interesting matchup as Obviously, the Cardinals have a lot
- 7:31Speaker 1: to play for Seahawks hoping to spoil that heading into
- 7:34Speaker 1: Week eighteen. But while we're talking about the Cardinals, let's
- 7:36Speaker 1: take a look around the NFC West. What's the Word
- 7:44Speaker 1: and the Seahawks were the NFC West champs again What's
- 7:47Speaker 1: the Word in the West? On Hot Talk last week
- 7:53Speaker 1: of the regular Stephen in the NFL and the Rams
- 7:56Speaker 1: are sitting on top of the division, twelve and four
- 7:58Speaker 1: behind them, the Arizona Cars eleven and five, nine ers
- 8:02Speaker 1: nine and seven in Seattle. One more game, they're six
- 8:04Speaker 1: and ten, trying to make that seven and ten. This
- 8:07Speaker 1: past weekend, the Rams sick on the Ravens. It was
- 8:10Speaker 1: their fifth straight victory, getting closer to an NFC West titled.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Their first is twenty eighteen. That year they went to
- 8:17Speaker 1: a Super Bowl. And we talked about this last week,
- 8:19Speaker 1: but it seems like when Matthew Stafford turns the ball over,
- 8:22Speaker 1: he does it in bunches, and not just one, not
- 8:24Speaker 1: just two. He usually throws three of them things out there,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and that's what he did against The Rams had to
- 8:28Speaker 1: overcome three turnovers from Stafford. He finished the day twenty
- 8:32Speaker 1: six to thirty five, three hundred and nine, two touchdowns,
- 8:34Speaker 1: two interceptions, and one fumble. The Rams were trailing going
- 8:38Speaker 1: into the fourth quarter sixteen to seven despite the three tonovers,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but Stafford did lead the Rams on a game winning
- 8:45Speaker 1: nine place, seventy five yard drive ending with an Odell
- 8:48Speaker 1: Beckham touchdown with fifty seven seconds left into the game.
- 8:51Speaker 1: He can turn that ball over, but he will still
- 8:53Speaker 1: drive you down to win ball games. I believe that
- 8:56Speaker 1: last drive right there. Tis Russell Wilson now for the
- 8:58Speaker 1: most comeback when he drives in fourth quarter in overtime.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Since twenty twelve, Sony Michelle had a decent day seventy
- 9:05Speaker 1: four yards or nineteen carries. Cooper Cup does what he does,
- 9:08Speaker 1: six receptions, ninety five yards, one touchdown. Cup is down
- 9:12Speaker 1: one hundred and thirty six yards away from setting the
- 9:14Speaker 1: NFL record for receptions yards in a season with one thousand,
- 9:18Speaker 1: nine hundred and sixty four, a record held by Calvin Johnson,
- 9:21Speaker 1: who was also catching passes from Matthew Stafford. What I
- 9:24Speaker 1: like about Cup though he killed all the noise. He goes, look, man,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I'm doing it in seventeen games. It doesn't really count.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'll take it, but it doesn't really count. That's the
- 9:32Speaker 1: way to go. If I'm him, I'm saying that allowed.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But in private, that's my records. Son. If I break
- 9:37Speaker 1: the record, I don't care. Well, yeah, we're new the
- 9:40Speaker 1: record books, so it's gonna say you're number one. No
- 9:42Speaker 1: one's gonna look. No one cares about that anymore. We
- 9:44Speaker 1: used to play fourteen games. You think all those guys
- 9:47Speaker 1: back in the seventies are beefing because all the records
- 9:49Speaker 1: got smashed. Now people will forget man now by when
- 9:52Speaker 1: he's like forty five fifty years old. People ain't gonna
- 9:54Speaker 1: care about that. The Rounds are taking all the nine
- 9:56Speaker 1: ers next week for the NFC West Crown. I know
- 9:59Speaker 1: you're not chairman for somebody during that game, mask, because
- 10:02Speaker 1: that's not what we do here in Seattle. But which
- 10:05Speaker 1: team do you want to win that game? You have
- 10:07Speaker 1: to pick one team? Who, now, who you're rooting for,
- 10:11Speaker 1: but who you betting on? I mean, shoot, it's impossible
- 10:16Speaker 1: for both of them to lose. I mean, I guess
- 10:18Speaker 1: they could tie. So if I'm rooting for anything, I'm
- 10:20Speaker 1: rooting for a tie. But man, that's that's that's that's hard.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I mean, I think, I guess I can't say a
- 10:28Speaker 1: good thing about either or. I mean, thing's gonna win,
- 10:31Speaker 1: not who you wants. What are you think is gonna
- 10:33Speaker 1: win that game? The Rams are gonna win? I think
- 10:34Speaker 1: I think the Rams are playing good football. I think
- 10:36Speaker 1: the Niners. There's a lot of questions with Jimmy G
- 10:39Speaker 1: Trey Lances, if Jimmy G gonna come back. The Niners
- 10:42Speaker 1: need to get into the playoffs. They need to if
- 10:44Speaker 1: they win their end. If they lose, they need the
- 10:47Speaker 1: Saints to lose to the falcon so they have everything
- 10:49Speaker 1: to play for. But fort and Niners are gonna be hungrier,
- 10:52Speaker 1: I think in that sense. But I think the Rams
- 10:54Speaker 1: are a better football team. But while we're talking about
- 10:56Speaker 1: the forty nine ers, they handled the Texans last week,
- 10:59Speaker 1: No so prize. Texans are a bad football team, beating
- 11:02Speaker 1: him twenty three to seven. Jimmy g didn't play, so
- 11:04Speaker 1: rookie Trey Lance got his first start since Week five.
- 11:07Speaker 1: He overcame an early interception, had a pretty solid day
- 11:10Speaker 1: sixteen or twenty three two hundred forty nine yards, two touchdowns.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Also had eight carries for thirty one yards. Elijah Mitchell
- 11:17Speaker 1: great game on the ground hundred nineteen yards on twenty
- 11:20Speaker 1: one carries. Also two receptions eleven yards in one touchdown.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Brandon Ayuke Deebo Samuel, kind of guys that do most
- 11:26Speaker 1: damage through the air for them, had combined for seven
- 11:29Speaker 1: receptions one hundred and fifty seven yards in one touchdown.
- 11:32Speaker 1: The biggest play was a forty five yard touchdown passa
- 11:34Speaker 1: Deebo Samuel gave the forty nine ers seventeen to seven lead.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Nine Ers score twenty unanswered points and second half after
- 11:41Speaker 1: trailing seven to three, Fred Warner does what he does
- 11:44Speaker 1: fifteen tackles one TfL. Now, like I mentioned a second ago,
- 11:48Speaker 1: Rams or the forty nine Ers are opening. Get Jimmy
- 11:50Speaker 1: g back for the season finale against the Rams on Sunday,
- 11:54Speaker 1: And you know, Jimmy, it's it's such a weird. If
- 11:58Speaker 1: I'm a nine Ers fan, I don't know how I
- 12:00Speaker 1: feel about that whole situation. Right, Jimmy does enough. He
- 12:03Speaker 1: has shown you who he is and what he's capable of.
- 12:06Speaker 1: His ceiling is like a Tier two, Tier three quarterback
- 12:09Speaker 1: who's usually not gonna kill you, but he's not gonna
- 12:13Speaker 1: make the crazy play. He's gonna throw for a decent
- 12:15Speaker 1: percentage all that. Trey Lance is a guy of the future,
- 12:19Speaker 1: but still don't know what he has there. So it'll
- 12:21Speaker 1: be interesting to see how those guys move forward after
- 12:23Speaker 1: this year. Current playoff standings, I'll just say this quickly.
- 12:28Speaker 1: The Packers thirteen and three lockdown the number one seed,
- 12:31Speaker 1: Rams and twelve and four, Bucks, twelve and four, Cowboys
- 12:33Speaker 1: eleven and five, Cardinals eleven and five, nine, Ers, nine
- 12:37Speaker 1: and seven, Eagles nine and seven, Saints eight and night
- 12:40Speaker 1: and then the Seahawks at six and ten Saints the
- 12:43Speaker 1: only team still in the hunt. However, two through seven
- 12:46Speaker 1: is not solidified in terms of seeding, so still ought
- 12:49Speaker 1: to play for this Sunday and I ment you this.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I mentioned this to you off air before we started.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It is so frustrating that if the Seahawks would just
- 13:00Speaker 1: have not blown at twenty four to sixth lead against
- 13:03Speaker 1: the Titans, who are obviously a great team, all of
- 13:06Speaker 1: a sudden, there the number one seed. We talked about
- 13:08Speaker 1: this earlier in the year that we're gonna look back
- 13:09Speaker 1: at that game and not feel as bad about it. Man,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I still feel bad about it. You're at twenty four
- 13:13Speaker 1: to six at home, and then if you just beat
- 13:15Speaker 1: the Bears, you'll beat them twenty four to fourteen. As
- 13:18Speaker 1: of last week. You do those two things, I'm not
- 13:21Speaker 1: even counting the overtime loss to the Stealers. I'm not
- 13:23Speaker 1: counting the loss to the Saints with two miss field goals.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I'm not counting being up seventeen to seven against the Vikings.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'm not counting. I mean, the list goes on and
- 13:32Speaker 1: on and on and on. But if you just handle
- 13:34Speaker 1: those two games this weekend, if the Seahawks were to
- 13:37Speaker 1: win and the Saints were to lose, the Seahawks would
- 13:40Speaker 1: be going to the playoffs because they've beaten the Niners twice.
- 13:44Speaker 1: The only team they had a tiebreaker on was the Niners.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So in that sense, the Seahawks would have finished the
- 13:49Speaker 1: year nine and eight, the forty nine Ers would have
- 13:51Speaker 1: been nine and eight, the Saints would have been eight
- 13:54Speaker 1: and nine, and then to cap it off bump, all
- 13:57Speaker 1: four NFC West teams would have been in the playoffs.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But I digress was not meant to be. Didn't happen,
- 14:06Speaker 1: so I can. I'll shut up about it. I'm still bitter, obviously,
- 14:11Speaker 1: but un happier. Now, let's get back into this matchup
- 14:14Speaker 1: with the Arizona Cardinals. Man up, who is this missus?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Man up? On Hawk Talk? All right, let's look at
- 14:28Speaker 1: some of these matchups. You gotta look at the quarterback
- 14:32Speaker 1: for the Arizona car Kyler Murray versus Seahawks defense. On
- 14:35Speaker 1: the year, he has thrown for three thousand and five
- 14:37Speaker 1: hundred forty seven yards, twenty three touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
- 14:40Speaker 1: He also has eighty three carries for three hundred and
- 14:43Speaker 1: eighty eight yards and five touchdowns. The last sign to
- 14:46Speaker 1: Hawks played their Zona cardinalsal was Culton McCoy in for
- 14:49Speaker 1: Kyler Murray. He had himself a day thirty five or
- 14:52Speaker 1: forty four, three hundred twenty eight yards and two touchdowns,
- 14:55Speaker 1: no interceptions. Now the last two weeks Murray has one
- 14:58Speaker 1: hundred and eighteen yards some thirteen carries, which has been great,
- 15:02Speaker 1: but overall his number dawn. We were used to this
- 15:04Speaker 1: guy getting active and going everywhere. Last year he averaged
- 15:07Speaker 1: six yards to carry, eight hundred nineteen total yards and
- 15:10Speaker 1: eleven touchdowns. In twenty twenty one, he's around four and
- 15:13Speaker 1: a half five yards per rush and his attempts are
- 15:16Speaker 1: down two carries per game. Murray has five interceptions in
- 15:20Speaker 1: the cardinalslasses, so that means you gotta gave him to
- 15:22Speaker 1: turn the ball over. Murray has also fumbled the ball
- 15:25Speaker 1: thirteen times in season, but somehow they have not lost
- 15:28Speaker 1: any of them. That's the luckiest team in the league
- 15:31Speaker 1: right now. I don't think I've ever seen a stat
- 15:32Speaker 1: like that. Now, I didn't even I didn't believe it.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I looked it up by check Pro Football Reference. I
- 15:36Speaker 1: cross checking him, like this is this Dude's fumbles the
- 15:38Speaker 1: ball all the time, almost once a game and he
- 15:40Speaker 1: hasn't lost one of them. Are you kidding me? He
- 15:44Speaker 1: gets the lucky bounced every time. That's crazy to me. Thirteen.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I don't think that's gonna be broken for a very
- 15:48Speaker 1: long time. Thirteen of those things, all right. Last week
- 15:51Speaker 1: was a big statement for Murray though. Man, he got
- 15:53Speaker 1: a huge win. He went down to Dallas and got
- 15:55Speaker 1: it done. We've been waiting on a signature win for
- 15:57Speaker 1: Kyle Murray. That's probably his signature wins so far. But
- 16:00Speaker 1: they have to get in the playoffs and do what
- 16:02Speaker 1: they have to do. Now. The Seahawks will be facing
- 16:05Speaker 1: a much bigger challenge with dual thread Kyler Murray. He
- 16:08Speaker 1: saw Tim Boyles one week, he saw Nick Foles the
- 16:10Speaker 1: other week, and it ain't gonna be like that. This
- 16:12Speaker 1: guy's gonna be able to get outside the pocket and
- 16:14Speaker 1: throw the football and extend plays. The Seahawks are thirtieth
- 16:17Speaker 1: in total defense, thirty first against the past. The Seahawks
- 16:20Speaker 1: defense has had the second most passes attempted against them
- 16:24Speaker 1: in the NFL six hundred nineteen. That means no respect.
- 16:26Speaker 1: They're gonna try to throw it up. Let's see what
- 16:28Speaker 1: Colin Murray does yeah, and it also means they've been
- 16:31Speaker 1: on the field a whole lot more than everybody else,
- 16:34Speaker 1: so it'll be they'll have their hands full. It was
- 16:37Speaker 1: Colin Murray for sure, one of the better young quarterbacks
- 16:39Speaker 1: in the National Football League. Wants flip it over to
- 16:42Speaker 1: our quarterback number three, Russell Wilson created a career for
- 16:45Speaker 1: Kyler Murray because of his success in the skill set
- 16:49Speaker 1: and the size and the baseball comparisons all that. So
- 16:52Speaker 1: Russell on the year twenty two hundred forty four three
- 16:55Speaker 1: seventy four two thy eight hundred seventy five yards, twenty
- 16:58Speaker 1: two touchdowns in five interception, which is crazy to me
- 17:01Speaker 1: still when you see twenty two to five when we
- 17:04Speaker 1: think about the season Russell's had, and it's nowhere near
- 17:06Speaker 1: the MVPC type season he's had throughout his career. But
- 17:09Speaker 1: he's still doing some good things with the football. Last game, though,
- 17:13Speaker 1: against the Cardinals, really struggled, going fourteen of twenty six
- 17:16Speaker 1: for two oh seven, no touchdowns, no interceptions, only completed
- 17:20Speaker 1: fifty three percent of his passes. Now, out of one
- 17:23Speaker 1: hundred and fifty seven regular season games, he's only had
- 17:27Speaker 1: twenty games with a lower completion percentage, so that kind
- 17:30Speaker 1: of shows you how the game went last last time
- 17:33Speaker 1: these two teams played, Russell got sacked four times, was
- 17:36Speaker 1: hit six times, and the Seahawks will just two of
- 17:38Speaker 1: ten on third down. Now it's back the last week.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Great game last week twenty twenty nine, two hundred and
- 17:43Speaker 1: thirty six yards, four touchdowns, no interceptions. Russell was incredibly
- 17:47Speaker 1: accurate last week. There was a rhythm he'd be able
- 17:49Speaker 1: to find DK metcalf with the exception that first you
- 17:51Speaker 1: know series of the game. The Seahawks scored on nine
- 17:53Speaker 1: consecutive possessions, so they had that thing rolling last week.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And they're playing a pretty good defense. Cardinals number ten
- 17:59Speaker 1: in total defense, given up three twenty two per game,
- 18:03Speaker 1: their eighth against the past, so I mean, just two
- 18:05Speaker 1: hundred and thirteen yards per game and eleventh in the
- 18:07Speaker 1: NFL with sacks with forty as a team. As we know,
- 18:10Speaker 1: Chandler Jones has made his head against the Seahawks specifically,
- 18:14Speaker 1: so he's a guy that you got to look out for. Obviously,
- 18:16Speaker 1: JJ Watt was banged up and gone earlier in the year,
- 18:19Speaker 1: so they do pretty good on that side of the football.
- 18:21Speaker 1: So the Seahawks will definitely need to play one of
- 18:23Speaker 1: their better games similar to last week, to have a
- 18:25Speaker 1: chance to do anything offensively. We gotta go into the backfield.
- 18:29Speaker 1: We'll see if these two guys are available. Chase Evans
- 18:32Speaker 1: and James Connor are both fighting some injuries, but if
- 18:34Speaker 1: they are available, these are two guys that they have
- 18:36Speaker 1: to really pay attention to. James Connor prob Babowl running back.
- 18:40Speaker 1: He has seven hundred yards fourteen touchdowns on the ground,
- 18:43Speaker 1: thirty one receptions, three hundred and thirty four yards, and
- 18:45Speaker 1: two touchdowns through the air sixteen total this season. If
- 18:48Speaker 1: he's on your fantasy team, you're probably made it to
- 18:51Speaker 1: a lease to semifinals. A last game against the Hawks,
- 18:54Speaker 1: he had ninety nine to yards and one touchdown, twenty
- 18:57Speaker 1: wayris for sixty two yards and one touchdown and five
- 18:59Speaker 1: reception for thirty seven. Chase Advans, who has also been
- 19:02Speaker 1: a great addition to this team. He missed the first matchup,
- 19:06Speaker 1: but on the season he has one hundred and sixteen carries,
- 19:08Speaker 1: five hundred ninety two yards, two hdowns, forty three receptions
- 19:11Speaker 1: for three hundred and eleven yards. If these two guys
- 19:14Speaker 1: are available, even if one of them plays. It's gonna
- 19:17Speaker 1: be a problem. If both of these guys are available,
- 19:20Speaker 1: those linebackers and those safeties are gonna have a heck
- 19:23Speaker 1: of a day trying to pick these guys about the backfield,
- 19:25Speaker 1: getting downhill and tackle. This is a great one two
- 19:29Speaker 1: combo they have in the backfield, no question about it.
- 19:31Speaker 1: And I think this is gonna test as Seahawks. You
- 19:33Speaker 1: mentioned the linebackers. Bobby Wagner, We'll see what his status
- 19:36Speaker 1: is going into Sunday. Obviously didn't look great. Pete Carroll
- 19:39Speaker 1: said it was not as serious as they thought. We
- 19:41Speaker 1: don't know his status as of now, but if he
- 19:43Speaker 1: is not playing, the young guys are gonna have to shine.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Jordan Brooks has been playing lights out this year. In
- 19:48Speaker 1: Cody Barton, huge game for him, just to show what
- 19:50Speaker 1: he can do. Played well last week and if these
- 19:52Speaker 1: two dudes are playing, he's gonna need to make a
- 19:54Speaker 1: lot of plays in the backfield for the Seahawks to
- 19:57Speaker 1: be successful on defense. And Bumble's talk about this seving corps.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Cardinals have one of the better receiving corps in the
- 20:03Speaker 1: NFL when they're healthy, but they are without DeAndre Hopkins.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Who's missed the last six games or he missed six
- 20:08Speaker 1: games total this season, in the last three after being
- 20:10Speaker 1: placed on ir with an MCL injury that required surgery.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Cardinals hoping to get him back at some point in
- 20:16Speaker 1: the postseason, probably needed to go on a deep run
- 20:18Speaker 1: for that to happen. But even without Hopkins, they got
- 20:20Speaker 1: some explosive guys. Christian Kirk had a breakout season for
- 20:25Speaker 1: him seventy five receptions nine hundred and thirty nine yards,
- 20:27Speaker 1: five touchdowns. AJ Green solid year as well, fifty receptions
- 20:32Speaker 1: eight hundred twenty five yards, three touchdowns. Rondel Moore, who
- 20:36Speaker 1: had was really active against Seahawks in the first game,
- 20:39Speaker 1: fifty four receptions on the year, four hundred and thirty
- 20:41Speaker 1: five yards, one touchdown. He has missed the last two
- 20:44Speaker 1: games with an ankle injury, so we'll see if he's
- 20:46Speaker 1: out there. And Antoine Leslie, who kind of showed up
- 20:49Speaker 1: in the box swore last week. On the year only
- 20:51Speaker 1: has seventeen receptions for one hundred and ninety one yards
- 20:54Speaker 1: three touchdowns. Two of those came last week. Now, defensively,
- 20:58Speaker 1: the Seahawks, we talked about this on the last podcast,
- 21:00Speaker 1: have been crushed at the cornerback position. You know, whether
- 21:03Speaker 1: it's been it's been a revolving door. DJ Reid, Sidney Jones,
- 21:06Speaker 1: Bless Austin the ball but on the COVID list. John
- 21:09Speaker 1: Reid suffered a concussion last week. Michael Jackson came fresh
- 21:12Speaker 1: off the practice squad, played forty percent of the snaps.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You know, the Seahawks of a loss Trey Brown earlier
- 21:18Speaker 1: in the year. They've had all these different guys playing.
- 21:21Speaker 1: DJ Reid did make because return to the lineup last week,
- 21:24Speaker 1: played really well, tune receptions, three pass defended. Bless Austin
- 21:28Speaker 1: was also able to come off the COVID list on Tuesday,
- 21:31Speaker 1: So hopefully they'll have a little bit more depth in
- 21:33Speaker 1: the secondary because they're gonna need it against these guys.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Cardinals had the eighth best passing offense in the league.
- 21:38Speaker 1: The Seahawks struggle against the past thirty first in the
- 21:41Speaker 1: league and their twenty first in the NFL with eleven interception.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So we'll see. We'll see about these guys. DJ Reid
- 21:47Speaker 1: is kind of held the water for the group when
- 21:49Speaker 1: he's been out there playing really good football. Sidney Jones
- 21:51Speaker 1: was playing great football as of late. He obviously ended
- 21:54Speaker 1: up on the COVID list, So we'll see if he
- 21:55Speaker 1: comes back, but definitely gonna have to contain some of
- 21:58Speaker 1: these good, big time playmaking receivers for the Cardinals explosive offense.
- 22:02Speaker 1: But you know what the Hawks had, They got a
- 22:04Speaker 1: running back. He's shown up the last three to four weeks.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Rashod Penny versus Cardinals front seven. Last week, Rashot had
- 22:11Speaker 1: twenty five carries, one hundred and seventy yards, and two touchdowns,
- 22:14Speaker 1: career highs in both of those things. Penny had one
- 22:17Speaker 1: hundred forty four rushing at halftime. At halftime, he had
- 22:20Speaker 1: a buck forty four. That was the most rushing yards
- 22:23Speaker 1: in the first half in Seahawk history. The last four games,
- 22:26Speaker 1: he had sixty nine carries and five touchdowns. On the year,
- 22:30Speaker 1: he has ninety six carries, five hundred and fifty nine
- 22:32Speaker 1: yards and five touchdowns. He is playing his best football
- 22:36Speaker 1: since college. Right. This is exactly what we wanted to
- 22:39Speaker 1: see out of this guy. The last game against the Cardinals,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I believe he touched the ball the first play. If
- 22:45Speaker 1: it wasn't the first play, it was the first and
- 22:46Speaker 1: second play. First play. Boom Big Game eighteen yards. We're thinking,
- 22:51Speaker 1: here we go, We're starting to see it, but then
- 22:53Speaker 1: he got injured on that play. He had one more
- 22:55Speaker 1: carry and then that was it for him. We just
- 22:58Speaker 1: got to see consistency. I've seen enough to be like,
- 23:02Speaker 1: I want this guy on the roster next year. But
- 23:04Speaker 1: if he can end this game on a high note, man,
- 23:07Speaker 1: the Hoskin look at this roster and say, we legit
- 23:09Speaker 1: have a number one and number two depended on Chris
- 23:12Speaker 1: Carson's health. But I'm rooting for the kid. Man. He
- 23:14Speaker 1: looks healthy, he looks fast, he looks confident. Keep it rolling, Yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 1: gotta love it. If he does this against the Cardinals,
- 23:19Speaker 1: it'll be a big time statement because I think a
- 23:21Speaker 1: lot of the detractors will say, well, he did it
- 23:23Speaker 1: against the Texans, the Lions, and the Bears. Well, if
- 23:27Speaker 1: he continue to do this against the Cardinals with a
- 23:29Speaker 1: good rushing defense, it'll be a big time deal there
- 23:31Speaker 1: for the Seahawks. Now, these guys have been an every
- 23:34Speaker 1: matchup all year long because they're that important of the
- 23:36Speaker 1: Seahawks offensively, and it's DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Last week,
- 23:40Speaker 1: Dk Metcalf was finally unlocked. Got to see some of
- 23:43Speaker 1: the things we've been hoping to see all season. Six
- 23:45Speaker 1: receptions sixty three yards, three touchdowns, first multi touchdown games
- 23:49Speaker 1: since Halloween. Metcalf is ninety one yards away from back
- 23:53Speaker 1: to back one thousand yards seasons, so hopefully he can
- 23:55Speaker 1: get that on Sunday. On the year, seventy receptions, nine
- 23:58Speaker 1: hundred nine yards, twelve touchdowns. Tyler Lockett obviously having the
- 24:02Speaker 1: best year of his career sixty eight receptions one thousand
- 24:06Speaker 1: and seven hundred one seventy seven yards, six touchdowns, set
- 24:10Speaker 1: a career high in yards last week, and the Cardinals
- 24:12Speaker 1: are good against the pass, and they're led by two
- 24:15Speaker 1: dudes in the secondary. If you're from here, you're used
- 24:17Speaker 1: to him former University of Washington standouts Booted Baker and
- 24:20Speaker 1: Byron Murphy junior Buddhists having a great year, got paid
- 24:24Speaker 1: all that money, and he's still bawling. Ninety five tackles,
- 24:27Speaker 1: two sacks, six TFLs, seven passes defended in three interceptions
- 24:32Speaker 1: interceptions with a knock on him before he signed that contract,
- 24:34Speaker 1: so he's definitely making more place in the secondary. And
- 24:37Speaker 1: Byron Murphy Junior sixty one tackles, twelve passes, defended, leading
- 24:41Speaker 1: the team four interceptions, one for stumbled at one touchdown,
- 24:44Speaker 1: So those are those are their dudes in the secondary
- 24:46Speaker 1: kind of need to know where they are at all times.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I just want to see back to back weeks
- 24:51Speaker 1: where one of these guys can have two straight performances
- 24:54Speaker 1: that are good. DK showed us three different ways he
- 24:58Speaker 1: can get the football. I want to see that implemented
- 25:01Speaker 1: this week. And they're gonna need it because, like I mentioned,
- 25:03Speaker 1: Carlos got some ballers on defense to a good secondary.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So hoping that these guys can get loose and for
- 25:10Speaker 1: the final time this season. I know it hurts, but
- 25:13Speaker 1: bump us figure out how to see us get it done.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Path to victory. At the forty five, waits for the staff,
- 25:20Speaker 1: Michael Vickson puts it down. That kick is away. If
- 25:23Speaker 1: that kick is gone, it's gun. It's a pass to victory.
- 25:29Speaker 1: On Hawk Talk, this is how the Hawks are gonna
- 25:33Speaker 1: get it done their last game of the season. First
- 25:37Speaker 1: and foremost, you have to contain Kyler Murray. He's a
- 25:40Speaker 1: special guy. He will side that pocket, he will let
- 25:43Speaker 1: it lose. He will use his legs so slide, He'll
- 25:45Speaker 1: get out of bounces He'll break your ankles. Whatever you
- 25:47Speaker 1: want to do outside that pocket, he can do. Carlos
- 25:50Speaker 1: Dunlap and Darryl Taylor need to be disciplined in their
- 25:54Speaker 1: pass rush and then create turnovers. We mentioned in their losses.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Kyler Murray has five interceptions. He has fumbled thirteen times.
- 26:01Speaker 1: He hasn't lost one yet, which is amazing. Let's get
- 26:04Speaker 1: him to fumble and actually lose one, all right, Interceptions
- 26:07Speaker 1: fumbles force him to turn the football over, no question
- 26:11Speaker 1: about it. There's no way that streak can continue going.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I mean, he hasn't recovered all these, but his linemen
- 26:16Speaker 1: are recovering running backs to recover him. It makes no
- 26:18Speaker 1: sense to me. So hopefully that'll change the Sunday. Run
- 26:21Speaker 1: the football, Run the football. The Seahawks have been at
- 26:24Speaker 1: their best this season when they've been able to run
- 26:26Speaker 1: the football. Need a heavy dose for shot pennies you
- 26:29Speaker 1: talked about. You want to see him carry the ball
- 26:30Speaker 1: twenty five times again for the second consecutive week. He's
- 26:33Speaker 1: increases carries every single week the last four and I
- 26:36Speaker 1: want to see him do it again. I want to
- 26:38Speaker 1: see him, as Turbo was talking about in the post,
- 26:39Speaker 1: team be that bell cow be able to carry it
- 26:41Speaker 1: twenty five times again and make it out healthy. That's
- 26:44Speaker 1: what I want to see from a shot. We need
- 26:47Speaker 1: to see Russell Wilson do what he does. We need
- 26:50Speaker 1: him to take care of the football would even be accurate.
- 26:52Speaker 1: We need him to connect on the deep ball. We
- 26:54Speaker 1: need him to make great decisions. We need him to
- 26:57Speaker 1: look like the guy we saw last week and the
- 26:58Speaker 1: guy that we've seen for ten years now. Heavy dose
- 27:02Speaker 1: of DK and Lockett. If you want to be explosive,
- 27:06Speaker 1: fourteen and sixteen have to be involved in your game
- 27:09Speaker 1: plan often and accurate. That doesn't mean just going deep.
- 27:12Speaker 1: That means hitting them underneath force and sometimes you gotta
- 27:14Speaker 1: force feed them. Yeah. Yeah, I believe you can throw
- 27:17Speaker 1: a slant against any coverage at the receiver and quarterback
- 27:19Speaker 1: on the same page, throw the slant. I think if
- 27:22Speaker 1: Russ and DC can get on the same page or
- 27:24Speaker 1: they'll be good. They missed a couple of times on
- 27:26Speaker 1: some open slants. Yeah, you're right, that's something that they
- 27:28Speaker 1: should not ever, you know, not connect on. With their
- 27:31Speaker 1: talent level and how good they can be, I think
- 27:32Speaker 1: you're absolutely right. I want to see more of that
- 27:35Speaker 1: and get back to owning the NFC west Man. Obviously,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you didn't win the division this year. You win this game,
- 27:40Speaker 1: you'll finish three and three in the division. I don't know.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Something about seven and ten feels better than six and
- 27:44Speaker 1: eleven and the year on a strong note. There's a
- 27:46Speaker 1: lot of things that have happened this year they're having
- 27:48Speaker 1: on the Seahawks way, but there are a lot of
- 27:49Speaker 1: positives to take out of this season. So finish on
- 27:52Speaker 1: a high note. Finish on a high note and reminded, guys.
