- 0:15We'll start with the golf. We'll start with the World Cup. We'll start with the golf, why you're on it. Because you used to, you know, popped up on Sky Sports on the socials. You're having a good laugh at Tony's, poor driving. Fantastic. It wasn't a drive. It was a feet under me ball, three wood shot, which was just not possible. Five wood shot. It wasn't a feet under your ball. It was. It was a ball below your feet. Okay. What did I just say? A feet under your ball. Okay. Yeah. A ball below your feet. No wonder you struggled to hit it if your foot was underneath the ball. It was just, it was an absolute nightmare.
- 0:45On that clip, it looks like you're pretty bad, but you said before that there was three shots that actually didn't make the cut. The camera doesn't lie. I'll say it right now, the camera doesn't lie. Stop it. I saw your practice shots as well. They were absolute wieldies as well, by the way. Oh, come on. Surely you can post the good ones. No, so what happened is, he said, do you want to have a couple of practice shots? I've belted a few absolute wieldies, and then thought, okay. Then they said, the ball's below your feet, so you know, you need to, and I went...
- 1:12That's not how I practiced. I practiced on a nice level ground. I was a bit of rough, but I was connecting with the ball. As soon as the camera started rolling, he started heckling. I didn't start heckling until you messed up the first shot. I kept quiet until you messed up the first shot. Then I laughed.
- 1:27If I'm being honest though, the heckling started when you were practising and shouts of four were getting levelled at you. And that wasn't even me. You turned around and blamed me. That was me lad. That was cool. That's fantastic. I've even got the kids heckling me now as well. Yeah.
- 1:43Yeah, it just was an absolute disaster. It was good, though. It was good to watch. Did a good interview. Spoke really well. All about Tommy and that. Who had a good week, despite him not winning. Really good going round. He did have a good week, didn't he? Yeah, he did. I think he finished fourth. He was under on every round. He's the only golfer in the whole tournament who finished in his 60s for every round. So we got to cheer him on. It was on his home course. Iman Furnow did absolutely brilliantly. He actually got into the...
- 2:10The mix on the final day, which you always ask, unfortunately, he fell away. But it was still brilliant from him to actually get in the mix coming down the final round of the Open. Just a normal fellow who used to bunk on the course. That's some goal instead of the journey.
- 2:26I kept looking around the course trying to see where he bunked on, seeing if I can get on next week. I was probably looking at him. Just by the little pathway where the Sky was. But yeah, you know what a story he is and what a job he's done. But I think I've just had big arguments with a couple of my mates on the WhatsApp group. And I said, he will get over the line. He will win a major. I 100% believe he will win a major. I think he will. It's only a matter of time.
- 2:52I think he will. He won the FedEx, didn't he? Which was a big thing. But Tommy sort of wins with consistency. I mean, that showed again in this Open. He's just really, really consistent. Eventually, consistency will bring victories, especially the consistent level he's playing at. Yeah, and he deserves it. He's been a great ambassador for the sports, for the area. Yeah, so actually...
- 3:21I think we'd all love to see him. We all wanted to see him win at Berkdale and, you know, his home basically. But he should win somewhere. He's got an all-round game. He can compete at every Open. Greater drive and unbelievable putter. Short game's good. So he's got the whole package. It's just...
- 3:39tying it in for that one big major, didn't it? But hats off to the winner, Ryan Fox. He's done brilliant. Jesus, I mean, what a performance. The furthest anyone's ever come from sort of behind 36 holes, those two rounds to get over the line. That 18th. I mean, no, I think... Four birdies all day there was on that hole. I know. Tommy was one of them. Tommy was one of them on that day, and you just thought, can he do it? But that approach in, that shot in was just...
- 4:08I thought if he was going to do it, he'd birdie the 17th and maybe not. Because when the pressure's on you, you tend to bogey the last. When he went the other way around, didn't quite make the birdie because his tee shot went in the bunker, which was unlucky.
- 4:22And then obviously Birdie the last but, I mean, he was brilliant. And the best thing is, he plays really quick, you know, because we were watching the golf and a few people come out and said about how long it takes. And the pros are taking a long time to hit the shots. Yeah, five for that round. I'm watching them and they'll walk there and then they'll have a chat. Then they'll get a club out. Then they'll have another chat and the green's cleared.
- 4:45They do take an age over the shots, whereas Ryan Fox literally just gets there. And his teammates, sorry, his playing partners don't even know he's sort of there at times because he's already hit the ball before they've had to think about it. So it was great to see him win. And I played Sunday morning myself.
- 5:02I've got to say this. Played brilliantly. Just to show what golf is like, I played again yesterday and played dreadfully. So the consistency that they can have, even over my level of game or your level of game, wherever you are. There's no level of game for me. Whether you're a 10 or an 18 or a scratch or whatever you play off, the consistency you have to show to win a big major over four days.
- 5:27I played with Emma Taylor, and as I say, she's one of the big people at TaylorMade. She's a former professional golfer, and she's talking about the psychology of golf. And she was saying, we have an area that when we walk into, you just take your shot. You don't think you do it. It's the area, just that there's a circle. They put a circle, so once you get in that circle, just take your shot and use the ball. But there's a circle just before you're approaching. That's where you do all your calculating and stuff like that. And to me, that's what it looks like, Foxton.
- 5:52Once he got into that certain space, he didn't think about it. He'd done all his thinking outside of standing up. When he stands up to the shot and do practice swings and stuff like that, he weren't really much about that. Just get to the ball, take your shot, don't overthink it. And I think that's what's paid dividends for him. When you said big people, you mean senior people? You weren't calling her a big girl, were you?
- 6:11I just want to check that before we move on. I've never met the girl. I just want to defend her. Just leave the girl alone, mate. I've never met her. I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to check. She's a former professional golfer. She's a lovely lady. Fantastic golfer. I was just checking because, you know, she's just a great talent. Well, she was a great talent when she was playing, but that's the end of it, mate. I was just doing it for you. I thought you were going to hit me down there. I'm bad, but I'm not that bad. You push off something on your own size, will you?
- 6:39Ozzy, you used that way of consistency there. Now, there was quite clearly one team at the World Cup which was the most consistent of all, Spain. Where did you watch the final? I watched it with friends in Ormskirk because I'd watch the golf in the day, as you do. Were you worse for wear? No, not quite worse for wear, but in a nice place to watch a game of football and be passionate about it.
- 7:05A game of football, but the right team won. Yeah. I mean, the game was as one-sided as you've ever seen. If you looked at those stats...
- 7:15In any game, let's just say this was a game of English football, and you looked at them stats, you would have thought it was Man City against Salford. Just to go on the sort of levels of such dominance by one team. It's a team that's going for the Premier League for a team that is striving to get out of League 2, Salford in League 1.
- 7:39Apologies for not knowing that one, probably. But you'd think there was that much gulf. You'd think it was an FA Cup game with that much gulf because Argentina didn't come to compete. They did exactly what they did against England, which was as frustrating as possible to start with until they had to come out, and Spain was so dominant, brilliant. They should have been ahead with the goal that got disallowed. I thought that was embarrassing. Yeah. And thankfully won the game because...
- 8:09I mean, I spoke on the previous spot, didn't I, about how much I didn't want Argentina to be successful and what I felt about how they can conduct themselves. Gang of horrors. And I think I was proved right with the way they were in the game and then the reaction afterwards. The way they carry on. They carry on the ball. Absolute horrors. You see them at the end of the game, all the kicking off as well? Just disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Saw losers and just...
- 8:32Just horrible. Just absolutely horrible. That Paredes and the things they're doing. I mean, even when you look back to when he played those, did you see when Jordan Pickford concedes the goal? Yeah. When the player runs up and pointing at his feet. Oh, what he gives a girl.
- 8:45What you give to get hold of him. Give him a good slap. Just say, hey, you, behave yourself. Never kick a man when he's down. For me, that's just a bit of a golden rule in life. Don't kick someone like that. But everything is sly. Sucker punches in the back or when you're not looking. It's very rare. Oh, massively, yeah. It's just got a massive history. I mean, even from Simeone doing it with the likes of your Beckham...
- 9:12I mean, I don't want to say this, but what Messi done was disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Saying he's covered his mouth and send him off. And I just thought, like, come on. He's supposedly the greatest player ever. And you're asking... Does your opinions of him change after that? Or will it be fine when things settle down? I've never looked into him and thought, personally and stuff like that. I've always just admired him.
- 9:39wow, you're just, you're Lionel Messi. Whereas I've actually looked at Cristiano Ronaldo and seen how he carries himself. When it comes to personal... It can be petulant as well. Personal. I do think that... Yeah, no, he can do it. He's got a horrible in him. He's a winner. You know, what he done with Rooney was horrible, but...
- 9:54You know, you see that, but it just killed me, mate. It really did. I didn't like seeing it. It was really bad. And if it seemed like I'd do it, I'd say the same. I just think players doing that, getting other players sent off, you're horrible. You're just an absolute goddard. It does happen in sport, though, doesn't it? It's emotional as well. It's a cup final. Even Bellingham had a little slap on the Argentina in the semi-final. So it does show that we've got players of our own that do it. Yeah. I feel like I'm defending one and not the other.
- 10:24was a little clip rather than a really aggressive sort of, I've lost and I'm having you. And it was off the back of him saying something in Spanish to him, I believe, um, thinking he might not understand. And obviously dude Bellingham does understand. Um, um,
- 10:40And yeah, we can't really sit here and condone that. But it was a little reminder, the clip. It wasn't so much. See the aggression in the faces? You can tell things by mannerisms and aggression and whether you're actually trying to hurt people. In that first one, the punch to Rodri's gut, it was so sly and unnecessary and just because they'd lost the game. And all of that happened and all the fighting and all of the coming together, which was disgusting.
- 11:10to then turn their backs on the Spanish when they were lifting up the trophy. And they've come out and said, we were just acknowledging our own fans. Nah. Of course they know exactly what they are. Every single one of them faced away from the trophy and just looked at their own fans and never even acknowledged that Spain has won. It's the worst solid in the world.
- 11:29What did you think of the referee's performance? Because he was quite slow to get any yellow cards out, especially in the first half. Wasn't when Messi got touched, was he? That's true. He never asked. As soon as he's won such Messi's yellow. I think they've tried to be more lenient through the tournament in general. And I think they have been.
- 11:48But I also can't sit and argue, having witnessed as many games as I did, that Argentina seems to get a bit more leniency. Whether they know the exact line and they've trained themselves to stay just underneath it, I don't know. But they always seem to just about get away with things that other teams... I know Messi was protected more than Donald Trump in that.
- 12:10Did you see Donald Trump trying to get on the lift of the trophy as well? That was embarrassing. He tried, he did it a bit. What's his name? Marino did it back to him. The one who plays for Arsenal. Oh yeah, because as Donald Trump went past to give it the look of the arms. It's just insane that the maniacs in charge of Wolf Power Country. Do you know what I hated was that Infantino's trainees. You know the white shoes he wears all the time. Tony's got them.
- 12:39possibly he bounces on as if he's like a pop star it's all about them it's all about them and even like the fact that they're like passing the trophy with both of their hands on it as if it's like kids walked up together with that trophy yeah that was who did Trump and I don't know hold it together I was just happy that that Spain won
- 13:04I'm going to say. You know what? Never in me, well, not since I've been an adult and a grown man, have I ever supported another team or supported another country and thought, I really want you to win. Like, I just always believe whoever's the better team deserves to win. And I've thought like that for the last... It's not always the case.
- 13:20Oh, no, but that's how I think. Yeah, no, it should, but you can be the best. You can actually be the best team by defending. We always think the beautiful game, and yet the beautiful game won Spain's way of winning. We all wanted Spain to win because of...
- 13:36many reasons. I'll even come back on to Spain in a second. But, you have to make sure that, sorry, you can win by defending really well. Like the way we beat Mexico, we went out and we did well to start with and then we had to hang on. There can be beauty in defending. There can be. It's not always about the team that has most possession should always win. But, there's a way of carrying yourself and there's a way of conducting yourself and the Spanish
- 14:01to talk there about it, did all the way through the tournament. And they conceded one goal in the whole tournament. And I think, if I read this properly, they conceded one knockout goal since 2006, I think. I think that's the first goal they've conceded because they keep drawing and going, oh, that might be wrong. And let's remember, I mean... It's brilliant the way they just... They only conceded 10 shots on target. Yeah, let's remember. On the whole tournament. The whole world rolled them off in that semi-finals.
- 14:31except except you go on you can say it go on you deserve your moment to be fair Tony did say that Spain were going to come out on top against France and here we are that was probably the most disappointing thing I heard from the last podcast when I was sitting there watching I was like never going to hear the end of this you know as soon as they went 1-0 lobby text it was like see I'm on it told you I just knew it was coming they play football so well they're so neat and tidy do you enjoy watching them though
- 15:01Spain, not as much as France, but it is what it is. That final was, I might say, boring. It was like watching the difference between... Well, look, there's dominance, but bringing it to Premier League, so things you see regularly, it's the difference between watching...
- 15:17Pep Guardiola's Man City and Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. Obviously different for Evertonians, but Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, we're all action. I mean, you're a Nevertonian. I know. It annoyed the life out of me. Just hide behind a bleeding. Don't ever say that again. You are a Nevertonian through and through, so don't ever... He's left though, hasn't he? Don't ever reference me as if I'm the only Evertonian. You are a Nevertonian. I'll never reference you as anything else.
- 15:44Jesus Christ but still what's the matter with you have you had to drink before you come here I don't know did I have a bad moment there Jesus Christ you're an Evertonian through and through you are an Everton football club I know yeah but I can still oh my you know you've played 400 games in a football club I can still go on about style of football yeah it's basically Jose Mourinho against Pep Guardiola I don't know he's like Jose Mourinho I love Jose Mourinho I love whatever wins I love whatever wins
- 16:12Yeah, but that's the difference with watching Spain. Spain control the game and attack as and when they like. They can still have, what was it, by full time, not including next time. They had 16 shots and 10 or 11 on target, so they can still master attacking movements through possession. So it is great to watch. Here's a question. Would they have beat us? Yes. You think? Yes. I don't. I think... I don't. We give them a different game than what Argettian have provided. I don't think they beat us.
- 16:39I'm pretty confident, to be honest. I do not think Spain are better than England. I do not see how they beat us. I think we'd have given them a better game than Argentina. And actually, having watched the semi-final against France, I think we'd have given them a better game against France. Because, as you always tell me with the boxing, I think styles make fights. Styles can make games. So that being the case, I think we'd have...
- 17:06Worked harder than France. And we counter-attacked what we did until we decided to go seven at the back after an hour of the semi-finals. We haven't even talked about that, have we? So I think we might have done better, but...
- 17:23Yeah, frustrating that one, wasn't it? I honestly thought we were going to be in the World Cup final. Yeah. I honestly did. And 52 minutes in, did we score? Totally turning towards us. 52 minutes in or 50, whatever it was, I'm jumping up and down saying I knew it. I could see this coming. We've done it now. And now we'll be able to, just like in the Croatia game, now we'll be able to play properly on the counter. We don't have to take part in the nastiness, because the first 45 minutes was Argentina trying to do...
- 17:51the same to us that they would go on to do to Spain. And we battled through it. We stood up to it. It was a horrible game to watch. No shots. Why does he do it? Why does he go? Why does he change it? That draft can go so many defenders. Why? I think it was... You win and won, Nilos. You win and won.
- 18:05Look, that night I was furious and I woke up the next day and I was like, he's got to go. I jumped right on the train. He's got to go. That was just so bad thinking he's got to get sacked. And then you start tracing it back and trying to work out what. But it was basically because of the success he had in doing it against Mexico. But they're not Mexico. I know. But then obviously that then we were under the cost against Norway, not playing well, and we went and did it. And then he's just thought, that's how we get through games. Yeah.
- 18:34But you can't do that against the big teams. You can't allow them to get momentum. You can't allow Messi to have that much of the ball. One of the greatest players ever just get on the ball. We should have done exactly the same. I didn't think Gordon should have come off at that moment. And I thought Morgan Rodgers was looking exhausted because the last time he played 90 minutes was in May, in the Premier League.
- 18:53and this was July. So I'm thinking he's given us a good 60, 65 minutes there, and he's got an assist for that goal. Time to swap him and maybe even Gordon at that point. Double substitution. Bring on, well, you've got Rashford down one side, and then you've got a trace of Saka Madweke. I'd probably gone with Saka because I think he can keep the ball in difficult situations, which that may have happened in the game. Bring them on in that moment. Tell them to keep running that way. Kane can come as deep as he wants then. That's fine. I agree. Because you've got two flying machines.
- 19:23He brought on Konza for Gordon. Yeah. And in that moment, I think we all did, we all would have gone, oh my God, there's only, there's half an hour to go here. Stop it. You can't do that with half an hour to go. Stop it. And then it was getting worse and worse and you're hiding behind your bleeding fingers and your hands aren't, you're hoping that you can get through it. And the moment we conceded the first, we were conceded the second. And it still frustrated me that when we conceded the second in injury time,
- 19:52By the time they kicked off, because they had a good celebrate, by the time they kicked off, we didn't already have our double substitution on. It took another two and a half minutes of the five minutes that were left to get our double substitution of two strikers on. I couldn't understand the lack of speed there.
- 20:10It's just madness. He's so frustrating. What are you saying, Tony? Are you keeping him? I agree with everything he said. The only change I would have had Matherwey Kayong because I think Matherwey Kayong's been all right this World Cup. I think he's done really well. Yeah, yeah. I think he's done brilliantly. And Rashford... A lot of people don't think he has, you know...
- 20:25He's done his job. I understand now why he's being picked because I didn't think he should have been picked before the World Cup. But I understand now why. He does a job. He does as he's told. He tracks back. Saka, I don't feel, showed really much of anything. I know he got one of the assists and I thought he was... But I believe Saka's got an injury and that wasn't the problem of Saka. He looked like he was chasing sharpness and fitness and confidence until he scores a hat-trick in the third place play-off, which was...
- 20:51Obviously too little to... I mean... Congratulations, scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup for England. Do you know that game? Could have done a game before if it got on. Them goals, I don't think should be counted towards. Totally agree. Do you agree with that, Os? Os, there's nothing on the game. Probably. None of them want to play. Oh, yeah. Of course, no one wants to play it. Why are they doing that, Os?
- 21:14To give out third place medals. It's embarrassing. No one wants it now. No one wants it in the game. And no one wants it after the game. I guarantee it all them players will give them away. Well, Messi became, didn't he, during the World Cup, the all-time record World Cup goal scorer, beating Miroslav closer. And Mbappe was on his tail. Going into the last games, Messi was still one ahead.
- 21:40Messi hasn't even come out of this tournament as the all-time World Cup goal. And that pays two goals in the third, fourth place playoff. I've got him into the lead. So he's the golden boot winner? Golden boot winner, but also he's the all-time record goal. He's got 20 World Cup goals. Messi's got 18, 19 now. That must have been 18 or 19. And they all start falling back from there. It's just purely greed from FIFA that.
- 22:06putting that game up. FIFA are under a lot of pressure. I mean, that halftime show was an absolute shit show. I wanted to hit your thoughts on this. Absolute disgrace. What are you doing? What was your favourite or worst part? Yes, that's what I wanted to bring up. You're the hero. My absolute hero. I'm not kissing his feet now. I wanted to talk to you about R9's performance coming out in that tracksuit. He didn't do any, just smiled.
- 22:30He looked like he'd won a tournament, like a competition or something. Yeah, he's just coming out. Ronaldinho still looked all right. R9 looked like someone forgot to tell him what size that tracksuit was. This one doesn't matter. You leave my head all alone. Honestly. You leave, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, o
- 22:58When they're paying, he's playing. It doesn't matter what you want him to put on me. He would have come out and bought that song. If you're paying him enough, he's got a price. I'm good on him for the play. I thought Justin Bieber ruined it a bit by slowing it down. The whole thing was a joke. Yeah. But I thought Shakira tried to bring it back up. I didn't mind it. I didn't mind Shakira. I'm not going to lie.
- 23:16It's half an hour, it's disgusting. They're messing with football's tradition, his 15-minute break, get your arses back on the pitch. I agree. It's a disgrace. And I know it's football, but I've got to be honest, I'm an NFL fan. I love the show. I love the show. And I weren't completely against the answer. Stop it. I know I'm in the massive minority here. No, stop, I'm not having it wrong.
- 23:43Justin Bieber ruined it for me because he slowed the momentum down. You can only do quick songs that everyone knows. And then you can dance around the living room. You can dance around the living room or something. Saying to the kids, who's he? Who's that? The Muppets, they were great. Oh, yeah. You're messing with football energy. There was a right few Muppets on the whole thing.
- 24:03was full of Muppets the only god on there was my god was Arnheim and I just can't believe he's done it but he has I mean I'm still going to hug him when I see him he's going to be the second celebrity ever I'm going to ask for a picture really? yeah even if Ronaldinho was there stood next to him
- 24:19I probably could ask him as well. Yeah. It's possible. Now that's... He's a legend. Jesus. Icons. Like, I don't use that word. When you say an icon, the icon... I'm not sure... I'm not sure Messi's got as much skill as Ronaldinho. No, he hasn't. There's that for you. Ronaldinho... Messi's the goat. One is what he has. Yeah.
- 24:38I don't know, Ronaldinho might have more. I think Ronaldinho's got more close control and skill than Messi. Yeah, I'd say so. Ronaldinho changed the game of football, literally. What, like added rules? No, he just changed the game. People could not get the ball off him. He was a freak. The tricks he was doing, he's the first. I mean, remember you'd see years ago, like the Nielsen trying and doing fancy things with his left foot and stuff, but Ronaldinho literally turned up and just changed stuff.
- 25:03Yeah, again, that's all relative to people who didn't sort of remember or witness George Best or people like that. You wouldn't have gotten bored. So there was always people, you go back to each generation that you'll find. Oh, are you? Best. I think I'm only about three months older than you. I think you're about 30 years older. My hairline would suggest I'm a lot older, I've got to be honest. It's not about George Best. It's like you witnessed him and watched him in his teeth. No, but that's what I'm saying. So there'll always be generations that go, oh, he's never as good as...
- 25:33As an Evertonian, your parents are always going, he's great, but he's never as good as Brian LeBron. He's never as good as... And they start referring to old school players. So like, Peter Eads, no Colin Harvey, you know, that kind of thing. Who does your dad say? When you tell him about football, who's you, should I have a fella? He knows football.
- 25:51My dad, though, grew up in Birmingham, so was a West Brom fan until he was 10. And then he came up here and went to Liverpool and Everton weekly from the 70s. Whoever was at home. Who's he thinks the best ever?
- 26:07I don't know if I've ever really asked him that, which is embarrassing. He's probably going to say Kenny Dagleish or something. Yeah, he was a big Kenny Dagleish fan, yeah. Yeah, he was a big Kenny Dagleish. Kenny was amazing. He likes Sue Ness as well, to be fair. That's my dad's... Yeah, he likes Sue Ness as well. And Terry McDermott. My dad said no one could touch Sue Ness. Everton Werners, good in the late 70s, really.
- 26:29Right, move on. Yeah. Good, good. Good move. My grandmother, say Alan Ball, obviously. Yeah, there you go. Another one. England sent to me. I think Howard was amazing, you know. Yeah.
- 26:40You don't see it. I'm sure there is. We had Howard, Kendall, Harvey, Bull. Golden Chelsea. The three, yeah. This episode of Outside the Box is sponsored by Bellarm and Joints and Solicitors. We're delighted to bring on BLJ as our first ever sponsors of the podcast. And especially with some of the opinions that Ozzy and Tony come out with, it probably seems sensible to bring a legal partner on board first.

- 27:28You said the other week that Bellingham, you think, was going to be England's best ever player potentially in the future. Do you still hold to that? Yep, 100%. Double down on it even more. Yeah? Yep. I think when that boy's career is done, he'll rule Madrid. He'll end up captain of Madrid and taking them to crazy heights, even though I don't know how much height he can actually get. But I think he'll captain Madrid, and I think he's the future success to captain England.
- 27:54What have England got to do now? 23. Liam, 23 years. Right in the Nalus. 23. I've got a level of consistency at that age. The only thing that would even come into question because his skill is obvious, his running game, his ability, as you get older, as you naturally sort of progress to the point where...
- 28:14becomes a little bit more difficult to cover the distances that he does because his game is about distances and energy and getting in the right spaces and then showing his quality when he gets into these right spaces. As he gets older towards 29, 30...
- 28:29So the likes of... So people are comparing his running power. And actually, we had the debate about it, didn't we, him and Steven Gerrard? Steven Gerrard, yeah. So when Steven got to like 28, 29, he could sort of do the less charging box to box or pick his moments and sit and trust his passing. And his passing range was incredible. As Jude gets older...
- 28:49Can he adapt his game? Will he be able to sit back and pick his runs or time them better or become the experienced player in the midfield? Will he be able to change his game? So that's... It's not a question over him because he's... Shown he can do it already, but can he do the same bites? He's incredible, but...
- 29:06He will have to find that progression. You think of, for instance, Alan Shearer ran over the top and did all the over-the-top striker play. And then as he got older and less mobile, he got more physical and started holding the ball up and being a target man in that way.
- 29:21But strikers like Michael Owen, who were ridiculous as 17, 18, 19-year-olds, as they got older and things slowed down, Michael couldn't turn into a hold-up play. So he found it more difficult to be getting a game in your 30s, mid-30s. So again, we'd go to midfielder, you talk about Gerrard, and he naturally progressed back through the midfield because people thought he might be a centre-half or a right-back at one point, and he did play them games well.
- 29:48Where will Jude go? Will he go further forward? Will he just play a number 10? Will he become a number nine? There's so many things he can do, but that's the only thing I'm thinking. Will he play till 34? Will he play till 35 for England? With the energy and the way he plays? My point with Bellingham and the Jeddah, I think, is
- 30:08I'm not saying he's better than Gerrard when Gerrard's at his peak, because that's unfair. Because Bellingham has his peak. What I'm saying is, at the same age, he's better than Steven Gerrard. And Steven Gerrard openly said that himself, so I don't see nothing wrong in what I've said. I think Steven Gerrard's the greatest midfielder this country's possibly ever seen. Okay, then let's go to Gerrard Lampard's goals. Gerrard Lampard's goals. Where does Bellingham fit in?
- 30:32With where they were at the start and where, sorry, where they were all at 23 from what? 22, 23, what do you remember? Better than all of them at that 22. And where do you think, who do you think, and you think he's going to be better than all of them? He's better than all of them at 22. When they're all 22 and he's 22, he's better than all of them. I think he surpasses Lampard. I'm not too sure Gerrard and Scholes. At 22? In the future. No, I'm talking. No, at 22, I'm talking in the future. I'm talking about what he's doing now. None of them are doing that at 22. None of them.
- 31:00I'll just say he's got 50, mid-50 caps. You've played against them. You've played against all them names. Yeah. What was they doing at 22? You're a similar age, you know them. I don't know, I still wasn't getting a game at 22. You know what I'm talking about. Neither Scholes, Gerrard or Lampard
- 31:19were dominating England games at 22. None of them were taking the grip of tournaments at 22. And I don't want to hear the team were better, mate. So don't give me your shit. The teams were better. The team was more set up and better. I'm trying to think how old Skulls was in the late 90s, like the 98s.
- 31:38World Cup when he came in and was playing. And I think they're amazing by the moment. Taking home from Sheringham and I wonder about that. But yeah, the thing is, I mean, they all broke into the England team at young ages and they were all incredible. And you're thinking, wow, what players we've got here. And that's why they were part of the golden generation, which failed. Well, ultimately it did, yeah. But that's why there was a lot of hype about it.
- 32:02But I don't think they were as dominant as Jude Bellingham is right now. So I have to agree with you. I have to agree. I think at this moment he's playing the best. Even at club level. He's one of Jota being a champion. He's one of Jota being a cup. What was he, 20 when he won it? 20 years old, he's one of Jota being a cup. He's at Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world. He's 20 years old. He shouldn't be doing what he's doing.
- 32:25And the frightening thing is I've always asked players, and I always go, why is he good this week? Why is he good that week? I remember asking Dan years ago, saying, why is he good this week? Why is he good that week? And he went, consistency comes with experience and age. How's he doing it then?
- 32:39that's what he said to me I always ask him when we've had kids I remember I remember Mola coming to our place Adam Mola Luchman and he was brilliant but he'd be brilliant a week on and then two weeks you just wouldn't see him and without going to the lad and saying to him hey lad what's going on with you last week you just think alright I'll ask a couple of players see what they think and I spoke to him and he just went talking about players it'll be just young and
- 33:05and inconsistency comes with you, you know about that because you've been there. Yeah, but I'm quite experienced now and yet my golf hasn't found any consistency. That's what you're talking about. Don't slap me off on golf. You've already broke me off. I don't want to talk about golf anymore. It doesn't work across all aspects. I've got to be completely honest. I want to ask you about what players get into the team at the tournament, but before we do,
- 33:29I know we've touched on it a little bit already with Tuchel. Are we saying that he stays the England manager into the Euros? If you have to make a decision. Yeah, because I'd hope he learnt a lot from that. Is that being too nice though? Probably, but I'm kind of always like that. I keep loyal and I'll give people another goal. Oh, you're being too nice. I know, but straight afterwards I was furious, but...
- 33:53I think now when I look back, I go, well, do you know what? I think they just jumped to give him an extra extension, didn't they, to his contract into the Euros. I'd give him the Euros now. How about you, Tony? Depends who's available.
- 34:11Again, that's... I'll take Eddie Howe. That is... No, no. I don't think we're there yet. No, not right now. Not over Tuchel. I'll take Pep Guardiola, though. Everything. Pep Guardiola says... Talk to Italy now. No, no, no. Go and get Pep. We've got the most money in the world. The English football has had its strongest ever point...
- 34:27You've got the biggest back and the most back and the best players we've had in quite a long time. Go and get Pep. That man is a serial winner. I think we've got some great... Well, any manager would be interested. We've got some great players. The only slight knock on us, I don't know if I've touched it on it before, is the fact that...
- 34:45Harry Kane is 32 now, or 33? All right, for the Oral. Yeah, he's got one more tournament in him. After that, as good a player as we've got, I'm not seeing a natural successor as a striker. I'm not seeing anyone come through yet. But there will be. Someone will have to find the answer to that. And Spain managed it, but the style they play, yeah.
- 35:08Iath Arbel, I think is how you say it. Wayne had a right few goes at it, didn't he? That was funny. Wayne had a right few goes at it. I don't have a job saying his name. Yes, it's not easy to say. When he called in Aspilicueta, didn't he? I asked Aspilicueta, that's what he told me. That was funny. But yeah, he's not a proper out-and-out centre-forward type. Yes, he plays up front, but it's a certain style, isn't it? And Spain found a way.
- 35:36They're going to have to adapt and they've got good enough players in and around the forward space. I don't like teams when it's all about one player.
- 35:43I don't know. There's too much emphasis. There's too much pressure. And then also, it's much easier to play against because cut them off. Stop them. Stop the threat. So it's like when we played Norway. We were brilliant the way we managed on. We stopped the threat. Yeah. And you stop it at source or whatever, which way you know as a footballer, you know how to stop it. When you've got it all over the pitch and which we do have talent all over it, it's like Rashford. I love Rashford. I think he's such a threat on goal and a brilliant player.
- 36:12that he could beat anything Rashford. Put him in there and give him a go or do whatever. I just think that's where we missed out massively. He had to be on that pitch. Definitely. When you want to look, get him on. And even if you go to the lads, Declan Rice and the other fans, you just sit, get Rashford on the ball. Yeah, but at the same time, you've also just said that
- 36:37if there's one player that you can stop him easy, and yet we never, to go back to the semi-final, we went defensive and still never put anyone directly on Messi. What did they say before? I told you. I'm not saying, I don't want to sound great after the moment, but I told you, just stick him in. You've always been like that. Just leave him.
- 36:54I don't care what you do, Anderson or Declan Rice, do me a favour, I don't care if he's walking, he's not doing nothing. I don't care if he's not in the game, just stand right by his side. And if you'd have done that, you wouldn't have conceded the goal. I wouldn't have done it, but having gone all out defence, considering how many players we had back, in that moment, I probably then would have doubled. I would have maybe doubled down on, well, we're doing it. So let's stop the main man.
- 37:17they're looking for him at every moment every player's looking as soon as it gets into the final third they're looking for Messi and when we conceded that goal from the cross on his weak right foot you've let him get there you let him get hold of the ball and it's your fault yeah and that was self-made we gave him that space of course of course and if you do what I said if you do what I said from the start I'm not saying I profess to know everything but
- 37:36What I'm saying to you is it's just common knowledge. Just go and stick a man and say, your job is nothing else but stand next to him. And if you get in there, kick him, drag him down, do whatever, but stop at his sauce. It's not hard. Yeah. Fair enough. He's quite passionate, isn't he? I agree. I don't think it's forgivable. Absolutely. It isn't. I'd move him away personally. I don't want to sack him because I don't believe it. I think he's a brilliant manager and I like that he was so brave in his picking up the squad. He didn't do the job he was brought in to do. No, he didn't. He didn't get us over the line. He didn't
- 38:06Gareth Southgate wouldn't have done that, I don't think. Gareth Southgate wouldn't have went six to the back because he would have known what was coming from him. Yeah, yeah. He's gone it because he's so... I don't want to say it every week. Just the fact that we did it against Croatia, that's what gets me. He did it against Croatia and had success. He went back on his own morals. That was the frustrating one. But he said that we weren't playing well after the Croatia game and things like that. What do you think about him coming out, saying something about our DNA and...
- 38:28What's he know about our DNA? What's he know about our DNA? He's a German spy. And it's normal, eh? What the hell's going on with our DNA? What are you on, mate? I'm taking a while to not really take responsibility. That worried me. Can you believe it? I'm sorry. We've got a German managing us in the World Cup and he loses to our greatest ever rivals. You couldn't write it, could you? No. It's England? No. I feel like I'm talking about Everton. It's very Everton, isn't it?
- 38:53You know what I mean? It's like the other fella, the other bag who managed Everton for a bit. It's just... Rafa. It's an agent Rafa. It's horror. Yeah, fair. Right, go on. Let's try and make it a bit more positive. World Cup team of the tournament. So we're going to go through the XI. Well, we'll try and not pick every Spain player if we can. But goalkeeper, I think it's probably going to start there, isn't it? Yeah. Well, do you know what the funny thing about goalkeeper is? Yeah.
- 39:20Simon only conceded one goal, but he only had 10 shots to face. Yeah. I know you're going to say it's bad, but I'm picking Jordan Pickford. I think the saves, he made the things that he's done. Okay, listen, I get the goal against Fernandes, I get it. But,
- 39:35Like, Donnarumma isn't getting down to the save that he made. He might have reached the ball that he didn't get to, the Fernandes one, but the big boys, the big keepers that you pick them, they can reach or they can get to that shot, but they don't get to that one that he got down low to. Yeah. Sorry. So you know what you get when you pick them. And I thought he was fantastic all the World Cup. Obviously, don't like...
- 39:58The criticism he gets, I think it's over the top. So people are saying that that should be him retiring from England. Who's better than him still? Nobody. Nobody's better than him still. And I've got to tell you what, he wouldn't have conceded four goals in that stupid game. No. Not a chance. So, Simon...
- 40:14You've got to pick him on. You and I see him on, maybe. No, I'm going for the man of the tournament. Virginia. Virginia. Keish Bedi goalkeeper. He went from two followers on Twitter to 49 million. All I mean, because social media says should pick him. He's a celebrity. He's gone, basically, he's the biggest story that came out in the World Cup. He's about to join. He's 40. My dad in the National. He's 40. He's not that much.
- 40:41Don't say that. He's younger than both of us. I know, yeah. He's younger than me. I don't know what passport he's claiming. 40 years. I am going for him just because I don't want to go over the top on Spain. And you're going for the same. I'm going for the same. I'm going for the same. But it should be similar. If I'm being honest, it should be similar. It's got to be similar. It's got to be fair. Even though I do want to pick Jordan. Go on then. You're serving your Virginia. Right, right back.
- 41:06I have three options. I am going. I know what I'm going to do. Go on. So he can go different, but I'm telling you now, I'm going Spain's back four. Yeah. Right across the board.
- 41:17No one beats any of them, I don't think. You've got Hakimi. They conceded... They allowed 11 shots at their goal. No, there you go. They allowed 10 shots at their goal in the tournament. Let's touch on... Or 11 because of the goal. Kibassi then. Is that how you say his name? Kibassi? Kibassi, yeah. Obviously a young player of the tournament. How good is he?
- 41:40I'd seen him, saw he was doing well, and was even surprised by how good he was and his level of calm, composure, defending. That's what I'm saying, 19 years of age. And it goes to show as well, usually...
- 41:57young player of the tournament is somebody that sort of sparks at the other end of the pitch, that does something great and scores goals because everyone loves scoring goals and the excitement atop into the pitch shows how dominant he was because he just sent her off and comfortably won it really because of his performances.
- 42:15That's what some people are saying. I don't think he's done enough this time. Yeah, I thought he was quite... From the World Cup, mate. Yeah, but he was pretty quiet. And probably that's going against in terms of when somebody does something amazing, you expect the same levels all the time or you expect them to excite you all the time. And he did well. He won the World Cup. Always wanted to get on the ball. Always wanted to get at people. Always wanted to win.
- 42:36I get it with the centre-half kid but I thought Cucurillo was absolutely fantastic he was close I'm not as big as fan him but I I couldn't I couldn't find a way of not picking him the only one I thought of was Sidney Cabral
- 42:54Costa Verde's left back I think he was who scored that wonder goal against Argentina I thought about him but I threw Jed Spence on my list he's definitely not been better than Kukarela but he surprised me because I didn't think Jed Spence had a very good season at Spurs this last year he turned your mind on him didn't he
- 43:13he was up with Jordan Henderson in your opinion to start with I'll hold my hands up every time I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up I was right about Henderson seen what he done the only fella to ever get booked and break his arm and not play a single minute
- 43:33there must be an award in what you're trying to say for us to pick Jordan Henderson Jed Spence Jed Spence not him and Evan yeah and we definitely need a full block
- 43:46Listen, we need covered all over the place and we need players to play. Anyone on that list available? According to Roger, Bellingham, O'Deoghue. Yeah, they're not available. Bellingham's got to get in that team. Yeah, go on, let's go, my field. Bellingham's got to get in. We're going to go 4-3-3. Just keep it. You can go wherever you want. I've picked my team already. Okay, I've got Bellingham. There's the first, my field.
- 44:14Yeah, I'm cheating slightly. You're joking, that's not worth you. In the sense of, I'm having Rodri, because most teams have two holding midfielders, I'm having Rodri holding on his own. I mean, he was player of the tournament. I mean, he was control and dominant. He ran the most, he had the most passes. He probably had the most tackles. He was everywhere. And he took a punch to the gut as well for his troubles. Did he make a mile now either?
- 44:40No, I didn't think he went. He didn't chuck himself on the floor. He just ran past and went, oh, and then he went back. I went, what the hell are you doing there? So I'm going him and then I'm going Bellingham in there as well. Rodri also covered the most ground for the whole tournament as well. Yeah, I've got Rodri. So you can put him in there on his own. I've got Rodri. Definitely. And then I'm going Mbappe off the left.
- 45:05I'm going Elise in the middle, and I'm going... Elise? Yeah. And I'm going... Are you going two forwards? Nope. Okay. I'm going in the middle, and he was my right-sided player. And I'm not picking Messi. And then I'm going... You're not putting Messi in? Nope. And I'm going Erling Haaland up front because he scored seven goals in five games. Five games he played and scored seven. Every single time I'm...
- 45:31So who's the other one? Well, I've got wide players, centre mid, strikers. Put them wherever you want, but I'm going Rodri. You're missing one player. I'm going Rodri and Bellingham, and then I'm going to go on the left. Wide players, you've got Alissi, Messi, Dembele, Gordon. On the left, I go Alissi. Mm-hmm.
- 45:58Right. Think about elite. I mean, sorry. I would go Dembele. And up front, I would go Mbappe and Haaland. Interesting.
- 46:09I think that's the only thing about Dembele Elise is obviously most assists in the tournament seven assists great but he had his worst game when they needed him the most Elise? yeah in that semi-final against Spain yeah but you can't he's not the main man that was frustrating as France did in general didn't he? yeah never going to be the main man there was you can't put that on Elise you can put that on the legs of Mbappe because he's the one with the band on he's the main man they all look to
- 46:37You can't put that on Elise because he's never been the main man for France and he's never the go-to for France. I'll tell you now, when their manager's making decisions of who to start, he's probably fourth, fifth choice. Because you're looking at Dembele, you're looking at Mbappe, you're looking at... There's not many players who would start over him. Elise, you've got to play. I agree. I think he's an amazing player, but he ain't starting. He's not getting picked over Mbappe or Dembele.
- 47:04He's not. He's not. He's just not. He's not getting above Mbappe. He's not getting above Dembele. I don't know whether I am for Dembele, for me. I think Alise is incredible. I do. I think he's amazing. I've just decided I'm playing Alise off one side. I'm playing Mbappe off the other. I'm playing Harry Kane, number 10. Oh, yeah? Yeah, just decided. I don't think he's there for England anyway. I probably think he can get in off the back of this tournament. He plays in. In the big games, the back end of the tournament. Didn't do enough. Didn't do enough.
- 47:28Scored six goals, was it? Seven goals? That was a record until Bellingham just came over the top. Neither of you have put one Argentina player in. They got all the way to the final. No Messi. The dark arts. No Messi. Well, he's the only one you could have put in. What did he? Okay, he scored. Missed as a pen.
- 47:46We missed more than one. He's got eight goals for the tournament, though. I know, yeah, but when you've got a team who just play towards you every single time. What's your team, then? My team would be the Spanish backfart goalkeeper for Rodri Bellingham. Danny Olmo gets in for me. Ooh, yeah. Decent shout. I thought he was going a little bit under the radar, but he's been at a great tournament. Alissi.
- 48:14Messi, Mbappe, no Haaland. Oh, my Lord. How are we going to leave the striking Viking out? Striking Viking. You cannot leave. That boy is going to end up the greatest goal scorer football's ever seen.
- 48:28That was a special moment. Do you have any questions? What was your moment at the tournament? I think that's where Jordan Henderson gets in. To be honest. I think that's where Jordan Henderson gets in. That's fair. Moments at the tournament. You couldn't like that. You know, you couldn't like that. Do you know what? I feel for the love because it's such a nasty break as well. Oh, it was horrible, wasn't it? Oh, that looked like a painful one. But I told you so.
- 48:52That's all you told. You should have left there. You should have listened to me. I get why he's there. He's obviously great for Cameradi around the lads and he's brilliant because you know he's never playing. Mate, just get him on your coaching team. You know what I mean? We need it. Imagine a Phil Foden, a Cole Palmer.
- 49:08Did you see that... They're opening someone up there, they're at Argentina. You stick, we're winning 1-0 and you put Phil Foden on a pitch, give the lad the ball, he doesn't lose the ball much. Phil Foden does not lose the ball, he's very good in tight spaces. Cole Palmer's another one. We nearly got through a show there without talking about Phil Foden, didn't we? Nearly got there. Nearly. I mean, one of these times we're going to get through. Oh, it's done. One of these times. And Rashford, it's just, it blows me out, we shouldn't be out the World Cup.
- 49:33even now we should still be in it now you should run it back you should run it back it's killed me you know I haven't felt that from an England team I got it like forever I mean I think it was at Euro 96 the last time my heart was broke like that
- 49:48Wow, really? Yeah. I haven't felt one as bad as that. I'd say to my mate on the Sunday, we just went out for a conference, this should have been one of the best days of our lives, this today, and we're just sitting here having a coffee. Broke me heart, I've seen him upset, it really did break me heart. I just thought, he's only 13, I'm just looking around thinking, you shouldn't be feeling this.
- 50:06I can't do it with Everton enough. My lads are 18 and 21, so they get to see Everton, and they've experienced that year in, year out. So strong, he's built them up well. They just shrugged their shoulders and went, this is normal, isn't it? This is Everton. Oh, Corey wasn't even bothered in the slightest, but that's what happened to Corey. Same old, same old. Right. Yeah, so, yeah. Goal of the tournament, do you have one of them? Mine's Sydney Cabral for Costa Verde. The reason is,
- 50:34Before he put that in the top corner, Costa Verde played out from the goalie. I went right through the pitch. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass. Top corner. So that's why that definitely gets it for me. There were some great strikes. Issa Doar scored a good one. Sunderland striker. All right. Well, let's see if we can pick you up, Tony, because of Leith, you've been pretty good in the quizzes. Oh, no, no, before we go on to the quiz, I wanted to just speak to you about, I believe you got a doctorate.
- 51:03or something special this week didn't you before we move on. Didn't you get like a special award? Congratulations. It's been for winning all the quizzes.
- 51:13I do like to take the piss out of him a lot. Thank you very much. Actually, that is a special thing. Do you want to say what it was? Yes, Edge Hill University have honoured me with a doctorate for sport and well-being. So the job that I help with mental health and people and my achievements in boxing. So yeah, honoured and it doesn't feel really real and I don't feel like I deserve it, but yeah. I'll second that. No, sorry, I'm only joking.
- 51:40No, honestly, huge congratulations. From what I've heard till now, I kept it secret because you didn't think I knew that, did you? Well, you know. I did want to point out that I live closer to Edgill than him. Yeah, just letting him down. I live closer to Edgill. And they obviously had to look further.
- 51:58So, yeah, I didn't think, you know, just people from where I'm from and people like me don't usually get given things like that. So I couldn't believe it. I was honoured and whatever I have you. So, yeah. But the real thing, the real goal was watching my little baby graduate. Of course. Oh, that was this week, weren't you? That was me proudest moment. What's it in again? In physiotherapy, first-class honours. Oh, class. Pitches look great. Yeah. First-class honours. I was at Manchester Meta and I just thought,
- 52:26made me so happy brought a tear to me I wouldn't have done a mini show and I dropped out my well you know our kids are born on the same day my lads got the same thing from Liverpool University on Thursday so I'm looking forward to that beautiful you've made me realise I need to get dressed up smart though
- 52:43in your suit and I'm going to go I'm going to go in shorts Formula One track he just turned on yeah I was just going to go in shorts and not sit in the back no turn up smart I'm going to have to go smart I ain't going to represent the kids correctly well your kids are getting degrees let's see which one of you can pass this footy test oh come on then oh yeah not my sport I said so I'm going to do say that and then he's told you the answers four questions each if you're both on the same score we'll go to a tiebreaker so question one who won the most fouls at the World Cup
- 53:14Is it a player, individual player?
- 53:18How many guesses did we get? No. I'm going to give you one each. Which player won the most files? Do you know what? I'm going to say Messi because all that he's done is he's more protected than Donald Trump. Messi is the first one that comes to your mind, but I'm also thinking Mbappé. Yeah, it's going to be one of the superstars. It's Messi with 20. Yeah, there's going to be one. Kevin! I can't believe it. He was more protected than Trump. There's going to be that one.
- 53:48Yeah, Doku got 18 and then Bellingham was 17. Did he, yeah? Yeah. Bellingham, you know what? Teams really did start going for Bellingham. You know, little pulls, nudges, pinches. He's had it all. And they're talking around the miles. You could see some of them trying it. The dogs. Yeah. That's early. Right. 1-0 down. I found this one quite interesting. Yeah.
- 54:11From nations only in the top four who reached the semi-finals, which player committed the most fouls? So you can have out of Argentina, Spain, England, France. I'm going to go with that little horror bag from Argentina. Throughout the whole tournament, this is not just semi-finals. That little horror bag from Pereira, that's whatever his name is, absolute horror. Argentina, France, Spain and England. It's got to be a defender. I'm just going him because he's horrible. I'm going to go Elliot Anderson.
- 54:41Actually, Jamal. Committed fouls? Not very good. No one was getting that. And do you know who else? Biana. So the Spain players committed lots of fouls. That's clever, isn't it? Just like stop and play up there. So when I saw that, I was like, oh, that makes so much sense because they're just...
- 55:01that's the easiest position to give away a free kick or the nice position. Yes, the least dangerous. And that's obviously a tactic that they've gone. You used to commit the foul. You're not going to go. You're not going to go. You're not going to go. Clever. Really intelligent. Which you've got to. And I don't know whether you just didn't tell Tony the answer to that one or that was just a let's get one wrong. No one's given anyone the answer, especially when you're involved. Question three. How many shots did Mbappe have during the tournaments?
- 55:28Will you turn that iPad a bit more to you? Because I know he's leaning around. He's terrible. Mbappe's shots. How many shots did he have? I'm going to go with 36. I'm going to give the point to whoever gets the closest there. Well, I'm going to go 37 then.
- 55:52You can't do that. You can't do that. You can't do that. No, he said it before. No, no. He said it before. Oh, you just got one more than me. Right. I already said it. I was going to go 43. Okay. It was 41. Oh, I was close to that anyway then. So you were close to that anyway. I'm just going to go one more. You're a disgrace. I mean, how did you even know it was more than 36? I just thought, it's higher or lower. If I'd have thought it was lower, I'd have gone third. I'm bad. Absolute disgrace. All right, so we're 1-0 at the moment. Er...
- 56:20Which player recorded the most headed attempts on goal? Wow. Wow. You've got Mbappé. You've got... Okay, where I'm... I'm going to go... I feel like it's Haaland, but I think that... I think that's too obvious. Is it like McAllister or someone stupid like that? It's a French player.
- 56:50No, I'm going to go Ireland. No, it's not. It's a French player. Come on, then. Is it Dembele? You nearly had it. It was McAllister. Oh, you're joking. Come on, do I get half a point for that? No, you're not. You're not getting half a point. I'm single Alexis McAllister. How did you know he was heading up all that little midget? Because no free kicks come in all the time. He's always getting it down. He spoke about it the other week, saying he's always in there. He's getting it down. I don't know about him. He's going to send this to Liverpool, you know. You kidding? Don't talk about them on this show.
- 57:19No, you're not. No, you're not. You thought it, your bottle went, you swallowed it, your arse went. Nine, head of the temps, and then after that, there was Haaland, Havertz, and Yvonne Sleven. So I even got the second? Yeah, Haaland seven, Havertz, Yvonne Sleven. Who gets the answers now? Still 1-0. Question five, Jordan Pickford made how many saves during the campaign?
- 57:42One, two, three, four. No. Wow. Over the whole campaign. Yep. Goalkeeper Union, not keep in touch. I'm going to go with. I'm surprised you didn't study that. Yeah. I'm going to go with 16 saves. Mm-hmm.
- 58:07I'm going to go 17. And we're not going with the thing you said. We need the number. We are. We're not. No, we have to. We're not excited to just say 20. I'll go five. Give the number. Yeah, you're Venus. No, I can't do that. It's wrong what he's doing. That's not part of it. Right, so you said 16. I'll go. I'll tell you what. No, I'll tell you what. I was probably going to go 26.
- 58:2627 27 It was 19 So Tony would have been closer No Get in me But I've already gone I've already gone 17 No no no It's who's closer Yeah so I went 17 I'm just going to give you No you didn't You just said 20 No I said I probably I said I probably would have I'm just going to avoid the question You can't do that You can't That's a point for me No it's not You've just said 20 How many did you say Liam? 20 You said 27
- 58:52What did I say? I probably would have but I did go 17. You can't go... How many saves did I make? Can't take it back. Can't take it back. I'm going to have it void. Void. No points either way. Who recorded the fastest sprint at the tournament, which player? Jed Spence. Don't know. Or Doku. There's a couple of quick players for you.
- 59:22Who else is there? Harland's quick, isn't he? Do you know what I'm going to do? I'm giving you all the answers here I'm going to go with Anthony Gordon Could have been Rashford Could have been Rashford Who was your final one? No, he said his He said the first Don't stop Jed Spence Someone and then Harland I went Docku and Harland So I'm going to go No, you didn't You said Jed Spence Stop it now Oh, am I getting three guesses then?
- 59:51Because he said three people. No, I can pick one. I was given... No, no, stop. Okay, he gets away. He said Jed Spence. Well, if that's the case, then my 17 counts because I said that first. Previous before I went with it. 17 wasn't how many he saved. He saved 20. But you said 16 now at night, so 17 was lost. No, you said 26. I'm closer with 17. Me and you are going to be outside in a minute. Come pick on someone your own size. You'll be a little weak. But we're wrong anyway. It was Mbappe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Should have been a given. 23.37 miles per hour. He recorded it.
- 1:00:22It's quick, isn't it? Very fast. Yeah, don't go that for speed on a bike. No. I'd be scared. Yeah, Alanga was second then. Alanga? Yeah, yeah, for Sweden. Wow. Yeah, he got 23 miles per hour as well. Come on, what's the last question? I've got to get home. All right. Okay, so what, we'll do a tyre breaker then? Yeah. Let me see which... Keep that pipe out tilted towards you. He's clocking down the side.
- 1:00:47That was a win for me, that. I haven't got bendy eyesight. Okay. Which player completed the most take-on, so dribble past the most players? In the whole tournament? Mm-hmm. You're waiting for me to go? I'm going to go Alise. I'm going to go with...
- 1:01:21Come on, you've got an arm to go to. Smash you and Mbappe. I'm going to go with Mbappe. It's Yamal. To see who gets the winner. Yamal! How many successful take-ons did he get? And this time, I am doing whoever gets the closest because of the tiebreaker. I'm not going first, Liam. Fucked it up this time, haven't you? You're a little guest.
- 1:01:50Rules are stacked against me. No, no, no, come on. The rules have been stacked against me. You made the rules. You started it first. That's how you got me last time. That's true. But if that's the case, then I've won because if my previous one counts... You've made your bets. Watch your pick, Leon. Yeah, exactly. You made the bet. For anyone who realises how harshly I'm done to, yeah.
- 1:02:06Please get in touch outside the box. Go.uk. Liam, get onto either of these. Call Crime Stoppers. Leave it in my social media how much I'm being picked on. You do it to me to win one of the points. Let's say he played, what, seven games, five, five, 35. 35.
- 1:02:3335 dribble pasts. I don't think he's done more than that. So I'd have to go 100 and then I'm winning. But no, just to make the point, I'm going to go with... Wait there, how many games should I work up? 300 group stages.
- 1:02:49Yeah, I might go 30. Stop, stop it, stop it right now. Stop, stop, stop, stop. Stop it. He said 36. He said 35. He said 35. Yeah, but I might go 30 now. I'm going to go 34. I'm going 30. Are you both locked in? No, you can't, you can't, you can't. You just changed. I went first and then changed. You just changed. No, yeah, I'm not bothered. It's 30. Which one are you locking in? I've got to lock in 35. You're locking in 35. I've won 30 now, but go on. You bang on the money, it's 35. Ah!
- 1:03:18I knew he was looking at that screen. I knew he was looking at that screen. I knew it. I knew it. You bollocks. He was looking at that screen, you little shit. That was awesome. He was looking at that screen. I know he's looking at that screen. I had my heart in my face, so he said 25. I was like, shit, he's got it. I just went seven times back. He's looking at the screen. He's looking at the screen. I don't care what you're saying. Sometimes, and all this, everything was stacked against me there and I came through. Unbelievable. Came through. You've done me with the exact same theory what you've done. You could go higher all over there. I don't care.
