[SPEAKER_00]: But you realize Thanksgiving is not the only time that we should be thankful.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't really really know what your eternal destiny is like.

[SPEAKER_00]: But almost worse than eternity is the fact that you are aimless, directionless, you are lost in the here and now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's social media, there's friends, there's coworkers.

[SPEAKER_00]: but you know at the end of the day when you let your head on your pillow you don't actually have anyone you say oh I got family but you know it's empty you know it's really not a real support

[SPEAKER_00]: Not because your family is bad or because your problems, it's just, maybe you do have problems, maybe your family is struggling, but because you don't have God.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have a real anchor in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you can't say I'm thankful for a salvation because you don't even know what it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: There'd be no better way to start this week of thankfulness than for people listening right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you're into the sound of my voice.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you know there's a God-sized hole in your soul.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now you realize a Bible tells us, there are just a few simple things you have to understand to accept Christ as your Savior.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's so many religions out there.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many quote-unquote ways to heaven.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I just pick a different one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I am a spark of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe humanism is the way to go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, how much do you think about this?

[SPEAKER_00]: Every other way relies on you doing something good.

[SPEAKER_00]: The God of Bible is not that God.

[SPEAKER_00]: See, there's a big difference between religion and relationship.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you might need right now is a relationship with the creator of the universe.

[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, just maybe, what you're missing is something that elisabeth from Illinois and James from West Virginia and K from Texas, something that they have that you've never had.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what the Bible says.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Bible says there are a few things we must understand first among it among them is the fact that none of us are perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: If we are going to have a relationship with God, we have to come to an understanding of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot get to his level.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot enter heaven.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot be justified by him if we're going to trust in our own goodness.

[SPEAKER_00]: all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, the bell says.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, we are sinners, the Bible calls us.

[SPEAKER_00]: In that penalty is a separation from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because we're sinners, we can't buy our own merit on our own who are cognizants, on our own ability, we can't ascend to his level.

[SPEAKER_00]: So place called hell that those who die without Christ must go because of the choice that's been made here on earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, there's a penalty for us in.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's separation from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: But number three, Jesus Christ paid the penalty.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bible tells us in the book of John chapter three verse sixteen, it's not just a reference in the Bible to be smeared into athletes' eye black.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a real verse, it says this, for God so love the world.

[SPEAKER_00]: That he gave, his only begotten son, that whoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that introduces the fourth thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: A few things we have to understand, but one decision, the decision is, do we accept Him as our Savior?

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus Christ, you don't add Him to your pantheon of other gods.

[SPEAKER_00]: He must persist alone.

[SPEAKER_00]: He must sit solely on the throne of your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: So number one, we're sinners.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, there's a penalty for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: And number three, Jesus paid the penalty when he died in the cross.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what these other people were talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: When they say I'm thankful for my salvation, what they're saying is I'm thankful that I came to a day in a time where I realized Jesus had paid the penalty.

[SPEAKER_00]: A cost I could not pay myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm thankful that there came a day.

[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't work for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I am so thankful that Jesus paid the penalty to offer me a way of escape, a way to heaven, and I'd like to accept it right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you stand at the altar, you're rejecting, you're saying, yes, to this one person.

[SPEAKER_00]: These other people, they said, I'm thankful for my wife, for my husband, what a blessed thing they're this.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a perfect illustration because you're saying, when you get saved, I'm saying, yes, to Jesus, but as you get married, you say, no to the other four billion potential spouses out there,

[SPEAKER_00]: When you say yes to Jesus, you're saying no to everyone else.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way you can earn your way to heaven.
